A terrible thing happened in a city about an hour away from me. A man deliberately drove into a Muslim family killing 4 of them. The only survivor was a 9 years old boy.
good lord. I thought those things only happened in the state. I'll pray for that little boy.

absolutely, but it takes a willingness to admit that one might have been wrong, or unjust, even unconsciously. A lot of people just get defensive and can't handle it.

a few years ago, we flew to see the kids, but also to see some friends we'd met online (he was from maine, she from australia - they live in nsw now). we met them and drove to boston for the most delicious fresh raw/steamed smorgasbord

that said, i've never really jumped on the sushi bandwagon - it's okay, but not something i'd drive to boston for :)
my brothers like raw oysters, but not me....i like them cooked....fried, roasted, but cooked...
