Hello, can I have a clue please for pl6/33
gerund ending
Sorry, di7 has the gerund ending, bichon
ty Bea
Same with the pl6.33
guess which word i didnt get in yesterday's grid?
Boletus
rhymes with bocephus 🤣
my guess is guest
mine is molest
About twenty people commented that it was an "easy grid except for the b7"
I give up?
I saw bea's clue for molest
Carla still thinks phus rhymes with tus
yep molly
I'm pretty sure I said "kinda rhymes" yesterday
MLF there were about fifty clues for that word in the chat yesterday
not going to comment on rhyming
i've seen some very questionable "rhyme" clues here and mine was like the least offensive of those
Never heard anyone refer to Hank Williams as Old Boletus. Nope.
no idea on that molly
no one said that
Did you not see all the clues for bo7?
i dont think i looked i asked for a clue no responses so i left
I definitely saw quite a few
Why didn't you look through the chat for the clue?
but i am fine with that i was amazed i was able to do a grid that small and yes it was pretty easy
well done, mlfan.
ty hokie

lunch time? I just had breakfast.
And another question left unanswered...
Wow, I just looked at yesterday's archive. I am amazed at the number of people who played but did not complete the grid. I thought it was the easiest one ever.
maybe they all started at 11:58
Bea, I think there is an entire other universe spinning there.
today's is not so easy for me
hello all...
Another entire universe spinning is Gav. Abbott of TX. That guy is a loon!
oh well, saving 39 for later. TTFN
glad i don't live in TX or FL....
well said bea.. texas is crazy town these days
bye, Carla...
Did you hear him say he was going to eliminate all rapists from TX?
no I didn't hear that one
good luck with that
What a DB...
only in texas can the penalties for stopping a pregnancy is far less than the crime of rape. This is really another attack on women I think.
BzznBea, sorry I forgot to thank you for your clue......thankyou!
hello
hi MLF...
Penn and Ruru we are also glad you two don't live in the great state of Texas
hi pen
ty, Buttonman!
Sorry, but I love my state
i have no problems with the state, just with the governor...
I also like my govenor
corner o stats pls?
oo 5/12 and oo 6/21....
od 4/6
Buttonman, what is your opinion of women's choice?
i have a od4
MLF....it is the OO words from the corner O....
yes pen
I am strongly pro life and since there are so many good methods of birth control I see no need to kill the unborn. It seems to me that it is more a choice of a lack of planning and self control...I am also a strong Christian and do not see how anyone can abort a baby when we have so many families who can't concieve and are looking to adopt
My son and his wife adopted a baby that we love dearly as if it was our own blood.
I'm just waiting for Texas lawmakers to start coming after women who have miscarriages and accusing them of murder. Miscarriages are extremely common especially in the first trimester.
it's not about you....there are reasons, my aunt had to have one so she would'n't die...she was told by her doctors that the fetus was in her tube....it almost killed her as well as the baby
she wanted it, but it wouldn't have survived
One: there aren't so many families that want to adopt and a lot of children are born to problematic situations. Two: the Texas Law as I understand also prevents abortion due to Rape and incest..
Not to worry Button.. I won't be going to Texas .. like ever
Good
ok. we agree on that
Mexico is going to decriminalize abortion. Interesting they chose to do that now.
The Texas law - resurrection of witch hunts
*thumbs up mubner*
Just wondering Button did you ever adopt a child? Or would you still?
ruru....I think that we have come to a sad day in our country when we have lost the ability to lovingly disagree and still not let it affect our relationships...as much as I hate abortion, I do not hate those who have them.
#illdriveyou
Also, very honestly, I would welcome you to Texas even if we disagree
I didn't say you hated anyone.. I don't hate Texans either but the lawmakers there have their heads up their asses
Thumbs up? #illdriveyou? Are we suddenly on Twitter?
No one is PRO ABORTION. BUT they are PRO CHOICE! A woman should have the right to choose if she wants to have a child or not and that is what this is about!!!!!! Every woman should have the FREEDOM to decide what she wants to do! It is a freedom issue. Most people who have abortions are NOT HAPPY ABOUT THE NEED TO HAVE ONE, but I strongly believe they have a right to make their own decision and they are not hurting anyone else.
Isn't it strange that all those that hate abortions just disappear when it comes time to feed, clothe and care for the newborns. It's not about saving lives, it's about control of women. My motto, don't like abortion, don't have one.
Molly, I # a lot on Ista
NIcely put mkg, thoroughly agree
I don't expect everyone to share my opinions. And I respect the rights of others to have different opinions. As for abortion, I am really torn. While I respect women's rights to choose, I also belive that abortion is taking a life.
And I don't understand that people who are pregnant and happy about it, consider a six week old fetus life, but those who are pregnant and not happy about it do not.
If the fetus is not viable outside the host there is no life to be lost.
I guess it's the potential for life that I'm thinking of then.
And why is it only the women penalized? It takes two, I think.
Molly, if you believe that we have freedoms in this nation, then a woman should have the right to decide if she feels she should have an abortion. That is what it is about……do you have the right to tell someone that they should have a child that they cannot afford to raise for some reason? Or that they dont want to have because they were raped? That is the issue.
The potential life of a child whose mother wanted to abort it is not going to be a good life period.
I didn't ask for a lecture mkg. I said I respect a woman's right to choose.
Also what we forget is the LARGE NUMBER of women and girls who were KILLED by illegal abortionists!!!!!!! My husband is a doctor and he saw many lovely young girls ages 13 and up who arrived in Emergency rooms in a taxi half dead, and they died! And it was tragic.
Sorry molly.
I agree with mkg, it's all down hill from there.
Sorry, didnt want to offend anyone.
Apologies to all.
I'm not offended, mkg. Just for the record.
we dont know the circumstances why people have an abortion and |I dont believe we have the right to pass an opinion or to criticise
it is certainly a divisive subject. But I'm pro choice and I think the government needs to stay out of women's vaginas
Buttonman i hope you plan to adopt about 1000 babies in the next few years.
Men would certainly be offended if government tried to tell them to do anything at all with THEIR bodies. That is obvious from the protestations of men who consider vasectomies to be something they'd NEVER consider.
even though the MEN are the ones who can, technically, have dozens of babies per year, as opposed to women, who can have two at the most. (barring multiples.)
Some men even refuse to have the dogs neutered...
yes.. imagine if Texas passed a law that all men needed to have vasectomies.. to prevent abortions
Rbud apparently hasn't met the Duggars yet
Suggesting that Buttonman be prepared to adopt 1000 babies in the next few years is a very weak opposition point.
If Texans are so pro-life, why don't they pass laws restricting rapid fire guns that are used to murder children in mass shootings..
... just sayin'...
Or mandate masks in school.
BIngo Bea..
See, there you go. Great opposition points, both of you.
hey, y'all, what'd I miss?
Lots!
we're discussing a few of the new texas laws that were passed hokes
re: TX masks, did I read this right a while back...the governor said schools are forbidden from mandating masks?
that seems a bit insane
There is NO mask mandates in TX.
at least let the school districts decide if they need to
that's Florida for sure too
Are
I know, but what I'm asking is they aren't even allowed to mandate them if they wanted to
Like I said, Abbott is a DB.
the only state that mandates not allowing kids to wear masks is Florida as far as I know.
DeSantis is positioning himself to be the next Trump
well, Whineston is wanting to go for a walk. 73 out but we had a monster storm this morning so it's super humid out. can't wait.
Masks are mandated in schools in my area
I need to get a move on as well...toodles!
I find it funny that people can't comprehend that women might feel differently about a wanted vs. unwanted pregnancy. Almost like women have feelings!
about what their body can and can't be used for
it's like saying well, why do you feel differently about making love vs rape? it's still just sex!
this move in Texas is a part of the plan of the Christian right to test the SCOTUS and try to do this countrywide. They will have other states like Arkansas, Georgia, Arizona, and Missouri pass laws like this
I'm starting to understand why you have to try out for the debate team. It's still just sex?
I'm wondering if musicians, and sports stars and movie companies will boycott Texas over these laws
I hope not. I am really tired of overpaid prima donnas making scenes about their political beliefs.
well. I"m guessing there will be lots of Boycotts of Texas and Texas products.. it worked in the Carolinas
For what?
the anti Gay laws if you remember
good morning everyone
hi Nan
what don't you get, Molly? You're the one who said you find it strange that women who want to be pregnant feel that an embryo is a baby and women who don't want to be pregnant feel differently
Betty White said it best, "If it were men who get pregnant there would be an abortion clinic at every car wash"
yuuuup
that would mean that men would have to screw themselves nan :D
and there are lots of times when women would tell them to go ahead :)
Which is possibly the way it should be. Someone else said that if sports cars had vaginas, men would never look at women again.
i better get to work.. interesting discussions today.
And I didn't say that there is something I don't get. The logic of the point eludes me though.
hagd ru
well if you don't get the logic then you don't get it
Why people would grieve a miscarriage at 6 weeks but not feel like they are ending the potential for life at six weeks if they abort the pregnancy? No, not really. But I still think women should have the right to choose. I just have my own personal beliefs on who is in charge of terminating a potential for life. And that applies to my body only.
because, like the act of sex, consent matters and how the person having it feels about it matters. An embryo is not a baby, it's the potential for a baby. If you want that baby you will be sad if you miscarry. If you don't want that baby you might actually be glad that you miscarried. An embryo is still only just an embryo.
what I don't understand is how people who would ban manditory vaccinations on the basis of personl rights could turn around and pass antiabortions laws.
*mandatory
Notice that my use of the term potential for life keeps getting ignored.
You have every right to your opinion Mael. All I am saying is that there are people who believe differently than you do.
And they have a right to their opinion as well. I would hate to see another player get run off this board due to the overly liberal sentiment here. Losing Dee was enough.
time for breakfast - going to post a new chuckle to lighten the atmosphere and be on my way.
I mean, you're free to feel however you feel.
Good idea Nan, laughter is much better than this subject.
maybe moo will come in and say hi and change the subject
Oh I found the perfect joke for today's discussion.
I have to say I really am not liking this grid
oh just found the perfect word to describe MC Hammer

Has there been no discussion of the fact that dooty is a word? What's wrong with you people?
dooty is not a word per enable. are you saying we should be arguing that? and I thought it was doody.
what is a dooty?
never heard of it

ty molly
no def on the word list dictionary
Why? Enable freakin' LOVES Scot words
It's a variation of what comes before twice, a Scot word
You have to venture out into Google land for those definitions not given here
As usual, late to the debate, but my tuppence-worth on the abortion debate. The Eighth amendment to the Irish Constitiution banned abortion. Consequently, thousands of Irish women annually took the boat or plane to the UK to avail of abortion services. Within those thousands, there were women whose pregnancy was a result of incest or rape, a drunken one-night-stand, an over amorous husband who demanded his conjugal rights despite already having 10 plus children. There were also the women, like Sinead O Connor, who used abortion as a form of birth control. There is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to the provision of abortion. Each and every abortion carried out is carried out for differing reasons. Men in suits should not be allowed to legislate for abortion. (End of rant)
Go Soodle!
In conclusion, following a bitter campaign, a very limited form of abortion is allowed here now. That was of zero use to my daughter's friend, whose 20 week scan revealed that her baby had no kidneys, and was 'incompatible with life'. Because she had passed the 12 week, abortion was not an option. The hospital offered her the choice of inducing her labor, and she would have to go through the whole birthing process, or giving her the address of a clinic in the UK. She chose the latter.
That said it all, soodle - ty
pl 5/16, pls
Abortion is a very difficult issue. I am opposed, but do not condemn or hold it against a woman who makes that choice...
pl + how old you are
I am so glad I live in a blue state
ty Molly
What's a blue state, Bich?
State which vote Democratic
Indulge me..... What does that mean? Liberal or conservative?
less right wing than the Republican
liberal -- middle of the road or leaning to the left politically
Nail on head, Bojazz..... Apart from the mentally unwell, I don't believe that any woman skips gaily into an abortion clinic.

Ha! "See if you can find". Like you EVER don't finish a grid.
just back to look for my last 33. hi, pen.
ty for the OO peri
true, Molly...i am a bit OC... ;o)
hi carla, peri, joy...
hey penquis
well I found 1 word
and another. now I need 31,but pen has probably already passed that
i found three....hard to believe that there are four more D words for me to find....
I need 3 D's still
and yes, seems impossible
this is the worst grid I've seen in a while, and that includes that stretch of bad ones we had a few weeks ago.
it's not a fun one....
27 now
22 here...
just found four words by making them up... ;o)
well, that's not a good sign
well they were words i did not know...
I will definitely not know them then!
hah....
made it down to 21. still 4 4's, let's see if I can manage those.
I don't like this grid either.
i think it's unanimous...
found 2 words! not 4's though, so that's good.
I'm still not getting the DI7
still missing six 4s out of 17 words left.....
do you have the di 4/6?
gerund ending...
yes, and 2 related words
di7 is making a gerund out of a CD
i am going to list...
is there more than one DI4,6?
yes...at least two....
got it, thanks
just listed....two....di 7 builds off the second one....
there is a di 5/18 that also builds off that four...
I'm going to list too
throwing in the towel
lol, of course a 4 I've never seen before is scottish
SMACK! (towel hitting the floor)
did not see that other 8 coming
i am down to two pesky G words...
i am done...
nice. I'm not seeing any of the g's on my list. I'll come back to those.
quite a few words in this grid that I have not seen before...
but i must admit that there were some words that I should have found....almost always the case....
3 c's I should have gotten but so far don't know the rest
i missed an adverb, a four letter babblet, a normal four letter word, and an adjective i should have gotten....and maybe more....
I'd be ly5 if I said I didn't miss ly5
LOL...
lol, me too
Now Pen, that is really not something you laughed out loud at. Saints should not fib.
now I'm down to 5 pesky G's
well i did find that funny.. :o}
my last two were a g 6 and g 7....
2 g6 and 3 g7
34 and not afraid to admit I have listed but this one is hard
mine was a gi 7 and a ge 6...the ge word i have seen before...
it is a toughie...
are these GL6/7 real words? not finding those
chemical...
they start with gl and sometime vowel
if you find one, you will find the other...
i can clue it if you want...
Ok, when I get up to 70 words I'm listing, because this grid is from hunger.
well I have a better idea now. I'm sure it's just a matter of time.
it's irritating to find that Spelling Bee doesn't accept words that are in the dictionary....and i am not talking about foreign currency words....
got to 70, but I just remembered that I have a job, so I'm going to work on a really boring task for a while and then reward myself with the rest of this grid, which isn't much of a reward today.
good luck, joy....
ok, was going in the wrong direction and also looking for a plural
so you found both the gl words?
pen I have an app on my phone that doesn't take a lot of words. it is annoying when you have them memorized from here.
very...
ok, looked up the gi7. ridiculous.
