clicks on site, covers eyes, peeks... yay! It's a "real" grid tonight! :D
good one diz, thanks!
Don't assume you're going to find assume in this grid.
Leaving 50 for tomorrow.....gnite all!
We need some Aussie flora and fauna in the this dictionary e.g., mulga
that seems only fair, dofith. enable need to go to australia.
To be fair there is an Aussie migratory bird in the grid
So long as it's double vacc'ed!!
🤣🤣
Thanks, Liz - missed that one.
We’ll, they’ve arrived here, vaccinated or not! The noise they make at night reminds me they’re here.
Yw
Sorry about the random apostrophe
enable is not very well traveled generally, doesn't remember a good number of 'old' words, yet isn't terribly up to date, and is sort of annoying in an overall way. after several years i've kind of come to have an image of enable as a person. a quirky often opaque one.
Enable is just a quirk of babble
and fickle and inconsistent, but that's probably my memory failing.
I like the quirky person image
Yes, quirky and obstinate!
I am reminded of Jillibus's quote in her profile: "I've decided the compiler of Enable is a prurient Jewish Scot who is a mining engineer with various medical conditions including dyslexia, and some musical leanings, who has travelled widely and collected a large variety of coins and currencies as well as sundry snippets of several languages, but is slightly out of date about cyberspace. S/he must have had some legal activities too and a penchant for using archaic language."
Liz, am I missing a bird? I have the ly4 - is there another?
miss jillibus. so clever, so funny.
rbud, that is brilliant! Spot on, jillibus!
she was something else. I really enjoyed her viewpoints, most of the time. So well educated.
Yes the bird is ko4/5
and yet crabby, haha!
Also miss Jillibus and Flosey and Ruby. They all seemed like such lovely ladies.
her great danes, volunteering at the library, the time a neighbor's siamese bit her, bridge...
Flosey passed away?
No but she doesn’t play now. Her son occasionally plays
oh, thank goodness.
sprite seems no longer to play either
Agreed
Thanks, Liz
Yw
Have a good day / evening. I’ll be back later or tomorrow.

isn't it funny that we can say "this grid is 10 times bigger than yesterday's"?
I know, I actually got firewords at the flip in 8 minutes with no clues - a new world record (for me)
congrats :)
thanks, maybe the first time ever finishing on my own without clues and then the 8 min was icing on the cake ðŸ˜
looks like this one will take a little longer
i'm impressed because that sa7 was weird
haha, thanks. you might be right, welki
morning all! phantom sausage (might need some breakfast)
the sa7 was weird, but I saw it called and monkeyed it pretty easily. I guess if you want to call knowing the stats a clue then I didn't set a new world record.
hey dan
haha
if we had a z we could have "ersatz"
assuage and sorghum are my phantoms
one of my favorite authors is in the grid! but her name counts as a word so i can't NTPN it
heh - assuage/sausage
I had tried ersats just in case
<-- thinking dan's right about breakfast
I also saw sorghum

A large police presense this morning...
where Bea
outside her house, presumably
Sunday morning in the 'hood.
bea lives in a bad neighborhood :(
aw no, bea
Young men with guns.
:-(
so does that make the police presence alarming or comforting, to you, as a nearby observer?
I'm in Chicago area, recently a running gun battle in broad daylight in the Loop
Just goes to show how naive I am Bea, I never think of neighborhoods with homes as beautiful as yours as "crime spots"
I'm glad they are here. I'm not glad I had to call them.
It wasn't until this family moved in next door.
:(
And our home is the only beautiful one on this block. The rest are run down rentals.
We've had a crazy weekend.
any clue for sm8?
adverb ending to but fingerprints all over

Yes, on Friday.
how did you even know, was it still stuck in it?
Yes, it was sticking out the sidewall...
Car fell off the jack. Got it back on the jack and the spare on...Spare was flat...

sort of like when my 4 year old daughter was explaing to her grandmother how she made her Easter bonnet: "I just scrunchled up bits of colured tissue and glued them on top..."

My mother thought the word so accurately described the technique that scrunchled has been part of our family vocab. ever since.

comes in a bowl generally.. spicy too
Congratulations, nan.
will have to look up sa 5 and see what it is

i forget you live in the boonies nan.. you don't have food options like we do down here
I love sa5
met too.. a great place in Seattle called Wild GInger has great sa5
no - and even the options we have in the way of asian food aren't very good. We do get good greek/italian/french cuisine though
we have great asian food here.. of all kinds
i just had Italian last night.. was a nice change of pace
My favourite italian restaurant here is La Bussola - wonderful food - a little pricey but worth it
and for Greek we (what else?) Olympus -- taverna type restaurant run by a local Greek family.

nice place to visit, but too rainy for me and somewhat isolated being on an island

Hi Owl ! everything well with you?
yes, and with you>
Thanks! Fw!!
Much the same...but at least Warm weather is slowly coming and , finally, we are learning to 'live' with COVID after most vaccinated
that's good, but there have been so many stops and starts...
not looking forward to being cooped up with winter. i hate the cold weather.
time to see about dinner. see you later
Bye Owl XX
Hello, everyone! I’ve been gone so long it’s great to find the site again!
Nef!! Nice to see you!
Isn't it though!...welcome back Nef
Hi pen! How are you?
doing ok here....how are you?
And hi lynxxx
hey, hi nef!
I’m doing okay, DH’s MS got worse & we are now in Assisted Living.
Hi TO! How are all of you?
doing fine, here....can't complain.....
Beautiful blue skies out there, time to potter around and get some sun on my face. Bye all
bye, lyn....
Bye lynxxx
Seats
how do you like your assisted living, Nef?
Sorry, forgot where I was….
i am done....not a bad grid today...
We moved here a year ago in Sept. in the height of the pandemic lockdown. It was like a jail at first; because we didn’t see any other residents for several months. Meals were delivered to our apartment, no activities, and we weren’t allowed visitors either. But in January we got vaccinations here & things have opened up, we can eat in the dining room & go to activities, etc.
Nice... I was just looking into housing for seniors that includes optional food plans, activities, etc...
The other thing is that because of the restrictions, there have only been 3 cases of Covid here.
excellent...
my county is 81% vaccinated (of the eligible people)...
I had visited 8 or 9 places almost a year beforewe moved ( hubby’s neurologist said we’d need it) so we picked a place that had a lot of the things I wanted ( which included a decent number of male residents so he wouldn’t bethe only one).
it's nice that you had choices....here there are only two places in my area that offer options...
We’re over 75-80% vaccinated in our county too.
nice...
We wanted to stay in our church parish & neighborhood; we’re just 4.5 miles north of our old home.
oh that's nice....nice to be in familiar surroundings...
the place i was looking at online here today is about two miles from where i am living now....
This building has independant & assisted living & 2 memory care units. One of our new friends down the hall from us just got moved (by her family) to memory care yesterday. She’s not happy, but she definitely needs more care than she could get in assisted living.
well it's nice to have those options....the place i looked at has condos, apartments and assisted living...
and the apartments and condos have a food option...
Pen, go there & visit the place in person. I had a whole list of questions & options I was looking at. If you let your kids pick a place, their choices of what they want will bea lot different than what you want.
That sounds good
you're right....i need to go check it out...
i am fine now, but my laundry is in the basement, down cement stairs and I have to go outside to access the stairs...
Yeah, not the ideal plan as we age. Is there a way you can move it upstairs? Some friends of mine have modified their home so they can “age in placeâ€
no, it's an apartment...it's not as bad as it sounds because i live near the stairs and the walkway is protected by a plastic contraption which keeps wind and snow out of the walkway...
well i should head out....it's been nice talking with you, Nef....glad to hear that you are doing ok...
Ok; like I said, I started looking a year before we “had†to move, so that gave us time to really think about what we wanted & were looking for.
yes, it's something I should do soon....thanks for the advice....
goodnight all....
You take care too pen, good talking to you too!
thanks!
Bye!
I forgot I have soup on the stove for supper, back later!
Have the es8 and the as8. What is the 3rd, please?
sm8
Thx, Molly!
I tried that, but without the i.... 😊
Hi Nef, if youo're still around.
Hi ori! I’m back after eating my soup; & I’m trying hard to find real words here tonight. I’m pretty rusty tonight.
How are you doing these days, ori?
I'm doing OK. A lot has happened for me recently. I'll write to you.
I hope you're doing well.
Sorry, I wandered off but am back again. I’ll say the same as you; I’m doing okay; not bad & not great.
I guess I’ll quit for the night, I have NBT & NBS; but still have 80 words to find & for some reason lickety’s list isn’t letting me paste my word list there tonight (I’m on my iPad & that might be the problem; I used to use my desk top which died, I have alaptop I’ll use tomorrow).
Take care, everyone; happy babbling!
are there any au words?
no
could I get a hint for the bottom A then?
as5/14. to examine or analyse. particularly ore which may contain precious metal.
thanks
