tx for il 9 - had to look it up
I haven't figured that il9 yet.....
il**ti 5
huh. thanks.

good night, uneaixoise
pa10
Thanks, Gillie. And on that fine note... good night, all.
Whoa, another massive grid.
Good morning, Scrabbler
I have been waiting for you, IG. How are you and the mountain cedars?
I think I have adapted - doing good How are you?
Excited for my youngest sister to arrive from NJ this afternoon. We will hike for the next 4 days.
Wow - amazing! and the hiking weather?
Snow on Saturday and Sunday so it will be beautiful in the forest.
sounds great - enjoy!
We will.
220 left and I must get ready for work. Enjoy the day.
That's a lot of 10s!
'morning, babblers
Morning, welk.
morning everyone, seems the crypto markets have buoyed back to a stable place and we have another large board ahead; good luck today
Good morning.
good morning ori
How's the weather there, saanich?
cold! yet another storm on the way, snow etc. Not as bad as before though. And you?
send some of that snow our way in MA, please
Rainy and windy.
all you want mael!
We're having a heat wave here in CT
at this time of year, that is amazing
-19C here (tonight, -34C) - no heat wave in alberta
Wow, that's cold welki.
howdy - 41 here right now. was 30something when I walked winston earlier. supposed to get up to 66 though. supposed to be 73 tomorrow.
oh welki that is miserable, are you warm enough
looks like carla is in the right zone!
All you warm temperature US kids keep chanting "mild winter, mild winter, mild winter".
yes, saanich, and grateful for it. winds are kicking up and more snow is expected. glad we don't have to go anywhere today
ooh that is miserable and fingers crossed your power stays on
heh, we were on the list for a scheduled power outage this afternoon, but the electric company cancelled it
They would have to be sadists to go forward with it in that weather.
it's been that kind of week, ori - water had to be shut off for pipe repairs tuesday and wednesday
I hope you will be fixed up for the winter welki, I hear it's supposed to be a cold one
I hope all of your services continue to function, welki!
sometimes it's like living the little house on the prairie life :D
At least you don't have to use an outhouse 😀
a blessing *lol*
fyi - fessite is not a penance seeking mineral
!!!
it's going to be 60 degrees here, probably break some records. Sigh.
Sigh? You would prefer cold?
Cold means normal for December
it's easier to warm up than cool down I find
I am just fine with any weather that does not require a coat.
I would be fine living in 72F weather year round
and when I was a teenager I used to tell my mom I was moving to Alaska. my, how times have changed.
For me, the older I have gotten, the less cold has appealed to me.
I'd prefer the temperatures to be seasonal
which here in MA is cold in December
Oh, you are in Massachusetts. Y'all like it cold with two feet of snow. 😊😊
I certainly do!
we have had no snow at all this year
Do you have to shovel when it snows, or does someone do it for you? I find that makes a difference in those who like snow and those who don't.
I shovel
and have a 1/4 mile driveway to plough
but I much prefer dealing with snow than dealing with a cold, dreary, brown, wet winter without snow
nevermind the climate implications
and, to be honest, if I never wanted to deal with snow I wouldn't live in the northeast :)
I'm a no snow person.
I'd rather have snow than no snow if it's going to be cold.
precisely hokie
but I'd also rather be in 72F year round ðŸ˜
but I'd also rather not above average temps months after month, given the givens
No 10's called last night. Interesting.
wow, and there are 5!
that is interesting indeed
I still haven't found any
I haven't even found a 7, but I still have 308 left.
I'm hung up trying to get half on these stupid 2nd row E's
can anyone help with the pa/10
think snooty, hokie
pa 10 french bakery
The 10's I have end with the plural suffix meaning quality or state.
wow, that is twisted!
I have 2 snooty ones and duck related
thanks, ursh, I wasn't going around that way
thanks, I just typed it without even trying to see it
there are three snooty ones
That was my 4th 10...
nice, bea
Snooty to the third power
can't imagine what ending the 3rd one is. I tried -liest even.

You are close Carla
well, I swear I tried that before I made up the other one and it didn't take
She swears

there's also one that is most fishy
see, I would never try that kind of BS. thanks.
it's pretty much BS haha

there are a lot of them today.
i found a te 10 to start
well aren't you special? 😜
that suffix is used a lot today.

I'm still missing a 10

I'm still missing 4 10s

I'm just trying to get half of the A. awful.

Half of the a...HOTA
I did finally get 14, so moved on to the D
i'm missing 14 p's right now
still need 23 of those
lucky you, I'm missing 21!
this grid is huge
yes, and I know if I make it to the list today there will be missing ones, as I just entered an S I know I entered earlier and it took.
a lot of my words had to go in twice carla as well
always happens on the big ones
first three rows grey. 180 left...need food...
I have now grayed 4 and just need a few more on the last S.
HOET! I might BBL for last 130 or might not. TTFN.
Laughing at "big ones" and "go in twice"
funny how the small ones have no problems just going in once and they're done
it's not the size of the word that counts, molly, it's how you use it
I thought it was all about ligualistics
lingualistics (screwed up my own joke)
oh hewwo Babsters
more than 1/2 and no 8/9 or 10
does anyone have innovative ways they're improving their personal carbon footprints?
i've tried in earnest to reduce my meat intake, particularly red meats ... the soy blends to replace them are just as tasty and the scientists say they're more nutritional
Tell us what you are doing, Justin.
the texture is a little off still, but the flavor is delightful
give those labs another couple years and i'll be content eating my soy loafs instead of hamburger
good morning all
gm nan
Hello, nan
... haven't owned a car for nine years ... paid off my mortgage with the money I wasn't paying to own and operate a car.
Do you have good mass transit where you live, dose?
Just reading the words soy loaf makes me gag a little
... it was great before the pandemic but it has been cut back ... but it's still pretty good
i guess if you're stoned enough soy loaves would taste pretty good :D
You have a point Ru
Soylent green
I love the name hempshow makes me laugh every day
just looked the chog over --- don't think there are enough spices in my cupboard to camouflage the taste of soy
i guess i am alone in my soy joy
I think so hemp
I'm with ya Hemp!
I read once that the soy stuff made to be like meat is actually not healthy somewhere
help with any 8 pls
maybe it's all the goop poeple put on to disguise the taste ru
awww thanks lyv! ruru, i may need to do some more research on the nutrition then
pe8 pls
we eat a lot less red meat than we used to, but still have beef a couple of times a week minimum.
not heavy writing implements peri
thanks ru
ty ru
I cut back on red meat.. but will have it going out sometimes. I'm not really a fish person so I tend to eat a lot of veggies and chicken.
Same with us, ru. I don't like a lot of chemicals and additives in my food.
I don't like that li 4/4 has become acceptable as a substitute for li 5/16
Red meat has gotten too expensive. I can't believe what I paid for my Christmas beef tenderloin this year.
I noticed that I sleep a lot better not eating meat at night
at night for dinner that is
I can believe it molly Beef is ridiculously expensive right now
we have a meat market here that sells only organic beef, chicken, pork - it is a lot leaner and less watery than the stuff in the supermarkets.
I've been buying beef and pork from local farmers.
nan, that word is a dated from. the li5 replaced it.
I wish I had those options. No meat markets or local farmers around where I live. I guess I could go see what the Amish have.
be careful molly.. they might convert you :D
our Christmas gift to ourselves this year is a lobster dinner on Christmas Eve and Beef Wellington on New Years day. I picked up the filet yesterday -- $67.00/poud!!! Hate to think what the lobster will be.
now i'm salivating, might need to forgo the soy for lunch and spring for some grassfed, never frozen beef
Good eating in Nan's house
A high school friend created a huge resource on FB for Kansas farmers to advertise their products.
I'll bring the wines nan what time should I be there.. I'm vaccinated and boosted :D
Wish every state had one like ti.
Ru, the Amish bless themselves and make their children turn away when they see me coming.
lol
maybe they are afraid you will try to convert them :)
Well, I am the expert on all things sin-related. 😊
ha
That cracked me up! LOL1
help with te10 or pa 10 please
going to be in the 60s here today and sunny. I am happy
pa 10 in a french bakery
Peri is my comrade in loving nice weather in winter.
:)
snowing here this am
te10 is slightly warm and end with neck wear
I ordered a prime rib for our 50th wedding anniv. dinner with daughter and family - I know how much it was last year and I am aware I will have sticker shock. My daughter purchased king crab legs for NYE $250 last year $375 this year. We have wine thanks to Black Friday deals.
that pa was a twisty one
We do rib eyes for Christmas dinner. I will purchase some that are thinner than what we usually buy.
ty for the te 10
I'm going to do a soy loaf
all of the 10's are twisty but they all twist in the same direction.
LOL! Cover it with ketchup.
feed it to the dog and buy something else -- on second thought, the dog probably doesn't like soy either
I think my dog will eat anything
Can you imagine going to someone's house for a holiday meal and having them tell you dinner is soy loaf? I would develop a sudden illness and have to leave.
:(
this grid has suddenly gotten s
Sorry, hemp. We are just old fogies and like what we like.
awful
if not soy, has anyone seen the latest trends with "mixed bugs" being eaten for snacks? it makes my skin crawl but i see ads for it all the time on amazon
supposedly good protein replacements but hard to give up my almonds for a cricket
oh god
I know people that make tofu tacos and they are tasty so maybe you should try the soy loaf
I like the scene in Breaking Bad where the Mom fixes soy bacon for breakfast and the kid says "This smells like band-aids"
fried tofu is good.
so is fried sheetrock bea
I got sausage bacon the other day. It was okay.
I've never had fried sheetrock.
california has a new bacon law
ntpn - lawman of the wild west
Get out!

I remember getting a veggie burger by mistake once at an Adventist Hospital cafeteria. It was horrible.
no we do.. goes into effect on Jan 1st
And what is it?
I had a veggie burger once it was ok
The bacon law?
the black bean burgers are good
Yes, I like those, cig. Also like a good grilled portabello.
pig farmers cannot have pigs in smaller pens than 24 square feet.. no pig crowding.. same with Chickens.. must be cage free
Chickens can still be cage free and packed tight in a coop.
oh! the star cluster counts!
Yes it does, hursh,
gold star for Bea
Consumption of soy foods is not good for men. It stimulates the production of estrogen and that is detrimental to the male body. throws one completely out of whack.
staying mum here
Joins Nan in the mum corner
that's very concerning, i eat a LOT of soy
lol molly
is this where great minds think alike applies?
We have been vegetarian for all of our lives, since teenage, and you can do a hell of a lot of good feasting with soy, seitan etc. It's all how you cook it, spices, combinations.
people are going to have to adapt to a diet consisting primarily of soy, secondarily of bugs, and tertiarily of compressed/flavored air
thank heavens I will be dead by the time that happens
I have no reason to eat meat.
and i will have ruined my body on soy before i have to eat crickets
Soy, bugs and air. Yummy!
high estrogen levels in a male can cause low testosterone production, growth of breast tissue, reduced sex drive, lower energy levels, a skewed muscle to fat ratio, the inability to effectively burn fat, and many other detrimental things.
There are good veggie burgers and not so good ones. Just don't expect meat juice running down your chin.
If I ever decide to go vegetarian, I will just stick to vegetables. Fake meat does not appeal to me.
Was the estrogen study done in Japan or China? Or was it done in Kansas?
I think my favorite sandwich (deli) was tongue on rye with coleslaw when I was a kid. Once my mother brought a whole tongue to the table, and I made the connection. Tongue is a TONGUE? That was it.
As long as you didn't eat the liverwurst.
Beans and grains make hearty stews.
a pangolin tongue is quite long, might be a fun delicacy to try sometime
I like liverwurst. Haven't had it in ages but maybe I'll buy some.
When you go to the delicatessen store- don't try the liverwurst. To the tune of Down by the Riverside.
although pangolins have a bad rep now with the coronavirus
are there unmentionable things other than liver in liverwurst?
All I know is, I had to remove soy from my diet and had to have testosterone replacement therapy for 5 years and I still have a skewed metabolism.
It'll make your insides awful sore/don't try the liverwurst...Now the corned beef you can trust, pickled herring in a must/ and the something salami is AOK
All I know is, I had to remove soy from my diet and had to have testosterone replacement therapy for 5 years and I still have a skewed metabolism.
But that nasty liverwurst/has been there since October first, and today is the 23rd of May.
Yum, I have picked herring in my frig. A Christmas must have.
pickled
Nan, Don't Buy The Liverwurst is a parody song by Alan Sherman (He of Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah fame)
So when you go to the delicatessen store...don't try the liverwurst! Lyrics and rendition by the late great Allen Ssherman, who doubled as Cary Grant on the Tonight Show.
gingentle, that sounds awful, i am going to toss my soy meat in the trash and go find a mcdonalds burger as my pennance
If you're eating McD's you're eating fake meat anyway.
before you trash it perhaps a little research on what extender is used in the burger.
cig, why would you think the study was done in KS?
soy messed with your testosterone levels?
And there you have it. We have brought another one back into the fold.
back to crickets - they are supposed to be rich in protein
extender? like a meat extender? not sure i'm following
I'm all in for meat extenders
Meat capital - you can always throw off statistics by the financial backers of research.
nan - have you tried crickets? or just passing what you've heard about their macronutrients
Some things are kosher and some are not. Despite my unreasoning love for Fran Drescher, another girl from Flushing, I have never eaten shrimp or lobster.
oh Kaplan -- you should try both - they are delicious
They are not kosher and I have no interest in them.
Liver is high in protein too and you are not going to catch me eating that either.
shrimp aren't kosher? I didn't know that
Wouldn't be delicious to everyone, Nan
Ru, it was a domino effect. Soy consumption increased estrogen, which decreased testosterone, which messed up my metabolic system. I am diabetic and everything is interrelated, you know. The knee bone is connected to the neck bone.
all shellfish
me neither -- I wonder why?
If cooked correctly, liver can be very good.
There is something in the Old Testament about not eating seafood
oh wow.. ging.. that's interesting..
I personally love them but they're not allowed in Kosher diets -- Fish is something else though
but they all fished and presumeably ate their catch
I know that there are varying ranges of practice among my people, but it says in Leviticus that shellfish is off the table, as are pigs. Animal must have cloven hooves. I tried a bit in college, guilt sent me to vegetarianism.
But a lot of Jews fill up the Chinese restaurants after Yom Kippur, so there are different ways of responding to the forbidden.
but does it say why it is off the table?
My mother ate bacon but not in the house. My father's background was more traditional.
I used to work with a guy who was one of those "I believe everything in the Bible" people and he didn't eat seafood. He had a great convoluted explanation for his many tattoos though, (Leviticus says no tattoos)
fish is in a different category from seafood. Don't know why
It doesn't have to say why, it just is a book of laws. People can rationalize that it's for health reasons. People do what they do.
My mother in law would let me put butter on my baked potato (I hated margarine) but I had to do it on the counter, only then could bring it to the table.
Have you ever noticed that most diets stemming from religious beliefs ban foods that spoil easily and cause severe illness if not cooked and eaten promptly.
Must have fins and scales, not shells, because I am the Lord.
Fish don't have cloven hooves. 😊
your MIL sounds like a doozy doren
Nan, I have never heard of anything like that.
But then again she made terrific lasagna, not only mixing dairy with meat but using pork sausage. Go figure
I worked for a Sephardic family and we enjoyed prawns, shrimp, crabs and once we had Chinese for lunch and my boss said it was 'kosher' pork. Do you follow the Leviticus rules on fabric? That one is hard in this day and age.
are any plants off limits in the Old Testament?
Fish is neutral, neither meat nor vegetable (parve) a babble word. Fish is differentiated from shellfish and kinds of meats.
I'm sure implants are hemp
Probably the kind of plants that you smoke
lol ruru
no, the bible doesn't say anything about smoking
thank Dr. God it doesn't
Okay, fire up your doobs then kids
the only plant that was off limits was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. after that i don't think there were any.
Not combining linen and wool? I am not ultra orthodox. You can stone me to death. The important basics are keeping the Sabbath and the dietary laws, and then everything breaks down into sects and community practice.
Dr. God is a zztop fan.. I would guess he'd be pot friendly
Kaplan I wasn't saying that my theory was a law in some religious rites -- just that if you look at the faiths that have dietary restrictions, that seems to be the case. I thihk that a lot of things that became "law" were the result of ancient religious leaders tryig to protect their people.
He was Dr. Gosh the other day.
No plants off limits but you have to wash romaine lettuce very carefully because it may contain bugs that are not kosher.
I am sad to have to leave this conversation. Have a date with my boyfriend.
speaking of religious stuff... Name that Proper Noun! horrid televangelist
Maybe back for the 136 left.
you go bea !
i'm sure you will have an interesting conversation based on all this Bea
Bugs can be kosher or not kosher?
Nan, there are different interpretations, but it definitely makes a separation. For example, my ultra orthodox nephew wouldn't eat in my house because our vegetarian food might not have the right rabbinical certification.
holy cow kap.. he must be a ton of fun at family gatherings
Sigh, glad I grew up to not be that kind of Jew
Osteen
ding ding ding!!!
I think Kap is speaking specifics, whereas I am generalizing
A lot of second generation Jews liked to break with tradition. Again you get the confident Jew Fran Drescher loving her shrimp (not Mr Sheffield). There is also pleasure in the forbidden.
He really is horrid
I had friends who were observant; wouldn't eat at my house even if I served kosher everything, because my pots and pans weren't designated for meat and/or dairy.
My nephew has 5 kids and a lot of relatives. He is the only fundamentalist and Republican in my family of origin, and some things we don't talk about.
I would find it very hard to live a life that was that restricted
Who is horrid?
and people make fun of my high maintenance that's for medical reasons!
ah.. Bubbles has Kosher plates and separate regular stuff doren.. That was my intro to that
Joel Osteen
she is talking about joel osteen, hurshy's NTPN
My mother gave up on kosher after her first Passover after she got married
smarmy and disgusting Osteen.. and his wife is a total bitch
then she's probably never eaten shrimp or lobster with you, ru
Who is Bubbles?
The other basic is not mixing meat and dairy, so you hear orthodox kids saying that their last wish is to have a cheeseburger. I would go for the world peace and lose 10 pounds direction myself.
a close jewish friend of mine
my best friends actually
You will not find any consistency among Jews around practice, as we contain multitudes.
I used to think the Catholic no meat on Friday thing was weird until I heard what Kosher Jews go through.
Bichon, my modern mother really fought kosher, because she was raised in an anti-religious, socialist household (it's complicated) but my father said the smell of bacon made him nauseated.
I was a chef for 20 years for a catering company that primarily worked with the Jewish community. Oy gevalt! Could I tell you stories about cooking kosher and the Vaad, the "kosher police" who "OBSERVED".
I was a chef for 20 years for a catering company that primarily worked with the Jewish community. Oy gevalt! Could I tell you stories about cooking kosher and the Vaad, the "kosher police" who "OBSERVED".
Kosher is not that hard.Especially if you're a vegetarian- you circumvent the whole thing.
My parents loved non kosher food. My brother wanted them to have a kosher home. Go figure
My brother was a rabbi and had a job once as the kosher-checker, or mashkiach. If that word comes up on Babble, remember it.
Bichon, it was all the process of assimilating and leaving the old rules back in the ghetto. It makes perfect sense if you follow the family tree.
I just don't understand the need for dietary laws in this modern day of refridgeration and knowledge of the importance of cleanliness concerning food preparation and storage.
well.. i didn't assimilate too well with my MIL .. since I wasn't jewish
My brother became a rabbi and it was obnoxious for everyone until my mother bought in to separate dishes. I have in my life been very observant, and not observant at all, but have a lifetime of experience with different groups. The only group of Jews that feels foreign to me is Reform. They were largely German Jews in America, and their first official dinner served tree, that is tr4, deliberately.
i have one dietary law: watermelon must always be eaten in LARGE QUANTITIES
I am going to see my 3 month old granddaughter this weekend.
that and avoid green apples
There are children starving in Europe!
So give them my dinner!
I meant tref
Kap. I have a three month old grandson. Born 9/20. I was with him last weekend in the UK and am expecting them home (covid restrictions permitting) on Sunday.
Mind was born 9/29! So tell me--is he single?
lolol
He's a bit of a babe-magnet. His older brother (2 and a half) has lots of girl friends and they dote on the newbie...
I have a niece born on 9/24!
Were going to NY so the parents can see Patti Lupone in Sondheim's Company on Broadway. This is a tough one- grandkid/Sondheim/grandkid/Sondheim.
Yay for the new generation!
:)
So far we call their demographic the Screamers, but that could change
In approx 13 years time, that generation will be known as the quaranteenies.
we ALMOST have that other game some babblers play - serpentine
top row grey!!
The other thing I am most humbled by is that the community (Catholic Charities, the Jewish Community relations council has sponsored a small family from Afghanistan to live in our third floor apartment. They have been here just over 2 weeks, a dad, a mom and a 6 year old boy.
for the upper i tile, i have in5 & 6 that are normal words but i can't find anything else, anybody have any tips?
The boy is already in school in an immersion program, that dad had lived here before so knows English, and the mom, who is quite young came from the provinces. They had to get out of Kabul after the Taliban reclaimed it. Many others have not such good luck.
intestinal inflammations. totally found those on my own. (nope)
also there is an ix
which I also did not find on my own
well, I think I'm going to brave Costco.
You're seeing Company? with Patti Lupone? So great! Am jealous.
No- My daughter and her husband are seeing it while we babysit the 3 moth old. Jealous doesn't describe it.
raids
well, that is much less exciting, certainly not sondheim.
So if Kosher people can only eat out of Kosher kitchens, they can't eat in restaurants?
There are kosher restaurants
Chinese. you go to chinese restaurants and order vegetarian
Utensils and dishes need to be Kosher also. People I know have 2 dishwashers to keep them seperate.
If there are strictly observant, no- only Kosher restaurants. But as I said people make their own rules, bringing the kosher-at-home-but-we-eat-out people who my mother thought were hypocrites.
there's always the JCC, but chinese works too.
Making a kitchen strictly Kosher for Passover is a nightmare.
That's why so many people say-nah.
That's why Mom gave up kosher
Chinese restaurants do not have Kosher kitchens
sorry. haven't been following conversation, just the last bits.
Did you miss my cost about the Afghan refugees resettled in our third floor apartment?
I believe there are kosher Chinese restaurants
There are indeed Chinese Kosher restaurants. Moshe Peking opened in the 70s.
Depends where you live. New York yes, Oklahoma not so much.
last word from me, unless orthodox, chinese ok if you do vegetarian dishes.
Me too. Mushi, no meat.
I don't eat the plates.
this always seems so easy at the flip and so hard the next day. low hanging fruit i guess.
idk what the intestinal inflammations hokie mentioned can be... mabye end in "itis" but ...
oHO i figured it out
wouldn't have seen that one - doesn't seem like it would be spelled that way.
90% done!!!
13 left here
woohoo, good job!
ty
wish i could do basic math. 13! so fast.
sadite
oh oh. penalty!
sorry
not a word anyway :)
yeah. got the other.
tada! fireworks!
any clues needed before I scoot?
still 180 to go, ty dolly
so good at this, dolly.
have a good day nan!!
Came. Saw the total. Got 110. Moving on. Have a great day all. 😀
No kidding Sophie. I don't get how people have time for such big grids during the silly season.
I am trying to pass halfway before my next appt. 15 to go
passed half way, but not many words over six letters
I have one 7 and nothing bigger.
somehow I got a 9
Wow. Clue? Somehow I cannot see 193 words.
just have one - ar 9 - a collection of things that are dry?
it was il 9 ~ one of the intestinal maladies? I believe ~ noticed the clues in chat
oh, come on. is this the kind of grid this is going to be? thanks nan.
Those words are not coming to me at this time.
lol - yw, mab
not seeing that il 9, but then if it is medical terminology that is not surprising
help with ra10 please
small intestine thing. but I don't see the plural.
have an il 7, but don't see a 9
I passed halfway! See you tomorrow.
the 9 ends in the full word for the things in the oceans that the moon does
haven't made it to costco yet!
anyone have ra10?
wow. tx on il.
ty carla
bye scrabbs
if your costco is anything like ours, you don't want to go --- they are no longer restricting numbers of people in the store at one time and it was a mob seem --- even in that huge warehouse there were so many people it was impossible to stay 6 feet away from anyone.
mob *scene
i don't understand why people don't think for themselves. unless officials tell them what they already must know, they just plow on like nothing's amiss.
I'm sure that will be the case.
I have 3 Costcos to choose from, all at least 30 min drive and I'm sure they'll all be equally busy.
but, maybe need to stock up drives them.
our costco still has the seniors' shopping hour 9:00am - 10:00am -- hate to think what it is like outside of that
I might just pass
I won't be going back until they start regulating numbers again
well, having criticized the world, must get to shop for critical items like toothpaste. in late afternoon place is flocked by students from 4 colleges. like locusts and nothing left after an hour, including all the chocolate. stuff in tins, yogurt, cleaning supplies, etc. so funny.
4 colleges in town.
need more shops, closer. hardware, plants, etc. but everything can be got at cvs. they've got a goldmine there, i tell you.
ah - just found ra 10 -- another silly collection :)
Reading back, I stopped going to Costco and then did not renew my membership because of the constant mob scenes there. And that was way before COVID. The savings is not worth what you have to put up with to shop there.
i used to get a hot dog every time at Costco, then started working more soy meat into my diet and that special treat fizzled out
but now i may need to work soy back out
so i'll go to costco later and get a hot dog

Hi again - just back from grocery store - managed to find 5 out of 8 items -- will be so glad when the supply chain is fully operational again. We are supposed to get another highway open next week - yay
Well yay for your highway. I was just reading in the newspaper about your fires and floods and opioids situations. Terrible.
I would hate to be the person who had to get all those ships and their cargo in order.
hurshy - Neelix: Wasn't that that never quite converted feral cat? Loved her.
can you imagine - they will be offloading winter boots in April
maybe we should invest in warehouses
Curiouser and curiouser times we live in.
Apparently, warehouses in B.C. (especially near Vancouver) are now so expensive now that they're now beginning to use warehouses in Alberta instead
the only problem being is there are no longer any decent roads to get to AB
There is that

yeah, there are 68 words. I found the one perfect pangram but no others. have found 34 words and am at nice. I think half will do. still 125 left here and too much to do.
pangram in the NYT spelling bee is a word that uses all 7 letters you are given.
did you mean pallindrome?
no, they call them pangrams in the Bee....
don't know about New York, but in grammar it is a sentence that uses every letter of the alphabet.

If you have the il9 - the rest of the word is exactly the same but you need to put a consonant before that ending
