Really weird that Na 4 and 5 are allowed by Enable. Besides being abhorrent, aren’t acronyms and proper names generally excluded?

12:42 am

well, it accepts radar, sonar, la4r, etc. maybe they just have to have been in use long enough or ...?

12:45 am

Good point about radar, etc.; I guess acronyms are generally accepted. I’d think it would still be disqualified as a proper noun, though.

12:59 am

If na4 is used in reference to the members of the German party, it is a proper noun. The word is also used to describe a fanatic, like grammar na4. That is the "not proper noun" version.

My brother in law took a lot of flak during WW2 because he was never 'called up'. He also had regulat fishing trips to Scotland. It turned out, at the end of the war, that, because he was a brilliant methematicion he was working on the development of radar

Soodle that is so apt! I fell down the google rabbit hole after typing that. They made that arse tirture from 1890 - 2010. What psycopaths were buying that until 2010? theres also 4 rolls on sale on ebay for £15. I have SO many questions!

I read that Izal makes good tracing paper. Hilarious.

LOL.... Can just imagine kids with rolls of toilet paper at school.......

6:15 am

Added extra...what you trace will be antiseptic

My, my, they just do not know what they are missing these days......

6:19 am

When I joined the Civil Service in 1979, this was the only TP provided. Alarmingly, every third or fouth sheet was stamped wthe the words ‘Stationery Office’. I always wondered if somebody had been given the job of stamping it

Also remember the * Now wash your hands* * now wash your hands*..... Also ex CS here.

6:22 am

MollyL - it made great tracing paper if you licked it first to make it a bit more see through. Unfortunately it tasted terrible. You had to tear off a foot or so, then roll it in your hands and rough it up in a desperate attempt to soften it up a bit and not get paper cuts all over your nether regions.

6:29 am

I am laughing at the stupidity of all this. Make sure you stamp that terrible toilet paper that everyone hates so no one steals it.

One Babble clue cand lead to so much laughter... Wonderful!

excuse typo..

I remember being in London in 1964. The TP at the British museum said Her royal majesty

6:39 am

Good Morning

6:41 am

So wait, you were wiping your ass with Her Royal Majesty?

6:50 am

Good morning babblers. :) they still use that sort of T.P at our local Walmart. Horrible stuff that come in gigantic single-ply rolls.

6:55 am

Stuff is so horrible that it was common for associates to keep a roll from home in their lockers should the need arise.

7:05 am

I guess it was hard to have to work at Walmart and put up with terrible toilet paper.

7:06 am

Not really. The managers had their own bathroom. Good stuff was in there. :)

7:10 am

Bad enough to be running a department in those madhouses to have to endure wiping your arse with sandpaper.

Remember, we must be thrifty with the public T.P or Ms. Walton won't have enough pocket money to fuel her yacht...
