that's what our racquet sports director tells us every time - most important thing is to have fun. which at this point is true.

I love padel. have played a few times. I like it better than pickleball and even tennis. it's still a little hot though on the court.
i tell my partners that...i play to win, but i don't get upset if I lose....i am disappointed for ten seconds and then i am done with it...

i had not gotten hit by anyone for a long time...
when I played adult pickup soccer just a few years ago there were always people who thought they were still teenagers or young adults who heal quickly. someone would always have to yell at them something like, we have to go to work tomorrow!

I did hit a woman here on the leg with an overhead in pickleball and she screamed out and carried on. I thought she was just being dramatic for comedic effect so I asked if she was just putting on. she said that it really hurt, then I noticed a red circle that turned blue while we were playing.
I didn't think a pickleball would hurt that much.
wow....wouldn't think a pickleball hit would be all that bad....

I never played racquetball
i played a little years ago....lived in a place that had a court and knew someone who played....
the Y near our first house had it and we had it in college because my roommate took it as a class, but that's the only places I've seen it
i played handball and four walled paddleball (i guess it's like 'modern' raquetball) when i was a kid - i did look like i'd been hit multiple times with paintballs in beautiful shades of purple
our court was in the YMCA...

they were wooden paddles, not raquets - but this was in the early 70s

the key to me is to tune in like 15 mins before the end of the game and choose "catch up through key plays". then you just watch those and you've got basically all the important bits of the game without all the commercials and whatnot.
saves a lot of time
