yeah at long last. I really hope Jamie will begin to see that moving servers might not have worked that great. Ever since we are going from downtime to downtime.

It's obvious that the new server was not a good idea. But that is what happens when something is provided for free. The quality control slips.
I do not know the costs involved in providing a rock-solid server over a long period of time, but I am sure that every long-time Babbler would have no issues chipping in a couple of dollars should Jamie need it to save on out of pocket expenses. The lifetime, one time payment we all made was good for a quick startup, but I am thinking that my one time paymentnof $11 in 2008 does very little to keep the lights on in 2025.
That, and there is very little "new blood" trickling in that I see.
Hello all. I agree whole-heartedly with Crossy's posts. Jamie has been keeping this site going for a very long time now out of the goodness of his heart, as has Lickety his own site. Our original contributions back at the start are long ago used up.
Lickety set up a PayPal account for donations. Dr. God (Jamie) should do the same.

I agree with you crossy, about being happy to donate a lil something for the cause. This is one reason I never bought a permanent supporter "badge" on another site I've frequented for a couple of decades now - they have one-year, three-year, and lifetime levels of membership. I always get the lower levels though I could buy a lifetime one. I figure money more often helps more than the one-shot deal.

On the other site, I buy refillable gift type cards to use instead of my regular credit card. Works well.

i find that as i age i seldom shop period. it has been years since i needed or wanted new clothing.my money goes to kids who need things.........i have 28 grandkids. and so when i have money i help them

On our recent cruise I finally tried reading ebooks. I still prefer paper, but I read 8 books on our 17 day cruise. And best of all, they were fiction, which I never seem to have time to read at home.
well son of hamas is not fiction. sorry all. it is an autobiography.
he wrote a sequel that is probably better: called Hamas to America which is amazing. what a life. what a story.
i prefer reading history or biographies or autobiographies.
