Oh, I was hopeless at maths. Give me words any day. My attempt at Additional Maths O level consisted of me writing my name, apologising to the examiner that I couldn't answer any of the questions, but here's the kinematic equations I had learned. I failed...
maths...maths...isn't that what you use to make sure Tescos has taken off the offer you went for??
Ouch...I get a nasty feeling you may have just predicted my future. I can't even add up the babble points accurately
I don't even look at the offers in Tesco's... I want to get out of there. Having said all that about maths, I do have a reasonable grounding in mental arithmetic, thanks to the days of rhyming off multiplication tables. It's when it's all theoretical that I lose interest.
With me it's the other way round - when there's a logical theory to follow, I can do it, but as soon as common sense comes in...urgh...
My younger daughter (now 18) has inherited my dislike of maths. She confesses that when she read maths papers beginning, for example, 'John went to the shop to buy so many metres of wood', she spent more time thinking about what he was going to make than about how much it would cost etc. She managed to get an A in her GCSE though..
Wow...the thought of how much studying (and praying, moaning, bribing) I'd have to put in to get an A makes me feel queasy
Miy - I confess that we did get her some tutoring because it was important that she get a good grade in order to get back to do A-level. She's now in her first year at Edinburgh University and I miss her!

It just tells you how many words that letter begins in the puzzle. Then it goes dark when you have found them all. The grid stat confused me too. The need help with stats helped a little.
Sadly, Granny...the grid doesn't show second letter. But, Babbler's Anonymous does. There is a link to it on the far right of this page. Its under General/Stats
I wish babble made a special noise when you get all the words :) It would make victory sweeter.

groovy - the stat list tells you how many words start with each letter on the grid and how many you have. also how many words of each letter count. To get the 2 letter list - click on Babblers anonymous onthe right, then on General and Today's puzzle. scroll down and voila! there it is! I copy and paste it into an Ecel doc and print it so I can cross off the words as I find them... and is that a very large chicken or are you just happy to see me?

What I do is I put them in a word document, then type in the words as I get them. That way, when people give clues that involve searching for other words, it's much easier than to scroll all the way down and miss the chat. It also makes it easier to give clues to other people, imho.

This is a long weekend. Just today I was at a conference most of the day for 1000 high school students. I was just supposed to do an improv show this morning but ended up running lights, video projection, toggle between shots, taking pictures and shoting stock footage for our promo videos in the fall.
