And everything old is new again. My prediction: 311 wds My prediction after looking at grid: I dunno
311? I hope not!
No one yet?
Well, we haven't had a real killer in a while. And Babble would not be kind and do that on a weekend. So we're sort of overdue.
aah
Hi all, I'm not usually awake for the flip, But I can't sleep tonight
Oh please no. No time to live here!
HAH! 174!
nice harp, deutsch!
Hi deutsch. I have too much other work tonight to play, just waiting to see what's the damage.
Hi again -- only 174 -- just wanted to see what was here -- gonna be up for at least the next 2 hours -- will be popping in and out :)
That sounds doable. Even has a useable Q!
Well, that's doable. But I'm off to work for a while. A volunteer's work is never done, I guess that's why they call it volunteering. (otherwise they'd call it 'work that never gets done,' and who would volunteer for a dumb idea like that?) Later, all.
Grey! How is baby and mother?
Later griffums! I'd like to hear about your volunteer work some time!
Doing well, Deutsch -- -though Mom is getting very lonely and impatient to come home -- that is why I will be in and out -- trying ot get last minute prep for homecoming done :)
Read all about it, deutsch - www.friendsofpets.org Also known as my personal bottomless cause for the last 10 years. Good stuff!
Love, hugs, and kisses for all the family! Welcome home, Mother!
I will make sure to pass them on, Deustch, thanks (*hug*)
Griffums, I have bookmarked your remarkable site. You and pets get lots of hugs, too!
(((grey and family)))
Morning dear gang! *extra hug for Woulf and family* How are things today?
Pretty good -- reasonable board, and the usual last minute frenzy of work to prep for homecoming :D
(*sprite*)
Hi sprite, I've been more sociable than babbling so don't know the grid yet! LOL
l8/60
LOL Deutch :) Woulf, I bet we will be seeing less of you in the time to come... just know that we will be thinking at least as much about you ;)
S7/32
yes, sprite -- especially after I start my new job -- then the only times I will reasonably be able to be around this late will be on the weekends --- but all will be in my thoughts as well :)
Hi everyone! 174?! Oh dear. I want the 40 something grid! :) Yesterday I had to leave at 110, I think.
Hi Debs, there's an I 8? Argh. Back to the grid!
Hi Zubie, Had to leave at 100. Work not conducive to babble.
s8/65... sorry not an i its an L8
Hi everyone :) Deutsch, i saw some socks yesterday and thought of you ....... they had zebras and zebra patterns on!!!! :)
w7/60
s7/32
(*lotti*)
Is that a 2nd S7/32, Woulf? Hi lotti!
((*GW*)) Are the family all home yet?? Send them my love xxx
it the only one I've got -- I didn't notice it mentioned before so I prob duplicated :)
Hi Lotti, I, too, think of my babble friends though out the day. ((( lotti)))
should be tomorrow/later, lotti -- takiing a pause in last minute prep right now :)
Thanks :) Then I'll go hunt for that W instead.
Oh good....it`s always nice to come home.
Hail, hail the gangs all here.......
Hail and well met, nan... welcome! :)
Hi Cyber :)
Hi Cybernan, As I learned it Hail, Hail, the gang's all here what the heck do I care What the heck do I care. LOL
Hi c-nan! (*hug*)
"Better break out the bear because the gang is here"
Oh sh*t..... typo! Break out the BEER. *removes herself from the company, thoroughly ashamed*
*drags sprite back* Just means you verified the keg was good before sharing ;D
Sprite, we knew what you meant and enjoyed it!
LOL! Thanks :)
[Eyes everyone]
((**zubie**))
Hi Zubie!
Hi zubie! Sorry guys, have to take a break, need to get my kids moving, dressed, fed and ready for school. Well, actually they can do it all by themselves, but somehow they appreciate my attention when they go about their business ;) For those gone to bed when I return: sleep well. Woulf, enjoy the homecoming day :) *hugs for all and an extra for Woulf*
(((**sprite**))) -- have a great day!
HI everyone! Hi Sprite! Bye Sprite. :/ Hope to see you later.
zubie -- sorry, not ignoring you -- just distracted with lots of things going on :)
See ya later Sprite :)
*hugs for sprite and her littlies* ((((sprite's family))))
Ooo Hi Zubie :)
Wow -- the W is getting a workout in this grid and not just as a starter! :)
I know, GW. :D I see that homecoming is soon. :D Hi lotti.
you guys quack me up! I'm hitting the hay. b c n u later. Nite all, (((all))).
Nitey-nite, chic! (((chic)))
G'nite, chic ((*hug*))
Hello and Hail to all..... what are we in for tonight ??
Hi Blaze :)
(*Blaze*) -- 174 tonight -- already halfway, though only have one word longer that 6 letters out of a potential 4
Hi blaze! back in a minute friends!
Hi Blaze. :)
hello back... sorry for the delay I was listening to a disruption in my household.... THANK YOU BRANDY JACK for posting stats....(((XX)))
Blaze, dare I ask what the disruption was?
deustch.... nasty teens being nasty with each other.... only listening to make sure it was words only... all is calm and quite now.....
I have knocked off the q's
Teens can be so interesting, blaze. I know I caused my mother interestine moments. Argh, I've but two of the qu's, blaze!
going back to prep work -- will check back in a bit :)
OOpss I put a word in the chat log.... oh oh.....
(((Grey))) Have fun! Blaze, interesting not whatever I typed! LOL
((*GW*)) See you later :) Must get going myself. I dare say i`ll be back soon!! See ya :)
oh yes,,, I got you in it too.... LOL
bye Lotti
Later days, Lotti!
Haha. My two favourite babble words are in here. :D
zubie, give us a clue!
They are t 4's and have to do with birds and branches. :D
zubie, would one of them be a needle holder? :) Back for a bit, until I have to wave my kids off.
Bye-bye,sprite's kids!
Reached the 100 -- time to get some zzzz's. See you in the morning. :)
Hmm - not sure. Not sure whether one of the words has a definition as needle holder, I mean.
Hi everyone! special Hi to Sprite - long time no chat! The log is less intimidating at this hour than it will be by the time i wake up tomorrow, so I thought I'd take a peek..
No zzzzzs in the grid, so you will have to look elsewhere indeed ;) Sleep tight, nan!
"nite cybernan, getting ther myself. *Yawn*
you must be y 4/10 ing....
Krys10! Great to see you :) :) I know what you mean, for us oldies the change in chat behaviour was profound. I remember chatlogs of 20 posts for a whole day :)
Yeah, just got overwhelming with all the side conversations etc. Plus the rainy season started and I went back on my no-computer-games diet for a while. It's rained every day for the last three weeks, I swear.
Hi Krys! getting late. may have to sleep soon.
deutsch I keep getting you in trouble to nite... LOL... I think we need some of Sprite's beer..... Sprite you are almost in the grid tonite...
I should get home. Will check in back in 45 or so.
Sounds depressing, all that rain. Hm... your diet is another one I have difficulty to maintain, lol.
Hi Blaze :) Yes, close but no cigar :( I have been in a grid though, not so long ago :)
It's harder than the no-chocolate or no-ice cream diet, for sure :) Hitting the road now! Treat me with yummy clues and I'll forego the ice cream when I get home.
It's a deal!
OK I have to leave for a while; hope that I DO get to finish this one, at least. 109. Later, everyone.
You will, zubie. We'll help ;)
nitey nite
We are as close to 'ywis' as to 'sprite' today.
Time to kiss my kids goodbye, see you in a bit.
Blaze, you may be right. too much beer. I am ambling off to bed (2:11 am) here. Night all and ((((hugs))))
good nite deutsch.... (( hugs))
this grid is really flowing tonite... the nite I must do some other work LOL
Lol... that's a law of nature, I am sure.
the t 6/30 is a hilarious word......
I have T6/27, but no 6/30 yet. *off to hunt* :)
I must do some work now... I will keep my chat log on though
Got it! Jewish for 'forbidden food' apparently.
Have fun working, Blaze, and chatting ;)
Well, at least we know what the inventor of L8 was called, right? Not a very pretty word. I just LOVED finding the S8, though :)
Sounds like this grid is a bit easier than the last two we had to struggle through.
Hi dalmatian! Yes it is, goes like a breeze here. Just need 16 more. And some real nice ones (S8!).
Please, help on le 5/18 and le 8/60
Hi Arb, just start out with a name. For the 8 you need to make it into something chemical.
thanks -- all I needed was to stop looking in a single direction. Finished!!!
WTG Arb! Congrats :)
Thanks sprite! -- popped back in before recovering my bed from moving furniture :)
((((((Woulf)))))) Enjoy your last night of undisturbed sleep, dear friend :)
This left uppercorner is driving me nuts, btw. If that L had been an S, I think I would have found at least 50 extra words by now.
undisturbed, she says --- Ha! I still am trying to figure out the logistics of installing the new baby seat into the car (a Saturn, no less -- a more car seat unfriendly car I have never seen) in the rain while keeping my daughter out of trouble ;D
hi guys... how many wors are we looking at?
174, Anuja. Poor Woulf, LOL! Believe me, in a week or so, you will agree wholeheartedly that this was undisturbed. But you won't mind :)
so how about a clue for the s8?
What would bite you if you would stick your hand into the toolbox of a carpenter.
Compound word.
Ah! nice clue :) made me think for a bit!
the compound words always get me -- I know to look for them, but I always try to link the wrong ones ;D
I know! Got the same thing with them. Still, finding one like this is fun, isn't it?
Indeed!
Done! Can I help with another clue? Otherwise I am off, have to go shopping for my daughter's birthday.
W7/60?, please
Hi broll! The act of moving your hand in a certain way.
Back! with kitty and ice cream and laptop in bed. Thanks for all the clues while I was gone :)
Sorry sprite -- stepped away for a bit to uncaover part of my bed :) Happy birthday to your daughter!
thanks. knew it was related to the one above, but just couldn't see it!
Morning all.Just a flying visit to get the grid.GW he`s beautiful.Congratulations to you both.
It's Friday, her birthday, but I need to go shopping without her, which is a bit of a challenge ;) She so much wants to know what we will be giving her, she doesn't give me any room to buy things, lol. Good thing she has to go to school.
Hi macadam! :)
(((***macadam***))) -- it's been ages!!! Thank you -- once he get's home I will get a couple of pics of him with me posted as well :)
Hi mum :) Hello again everyone :)
GW, congratulations!!!
That's right -- you mentioned the date before the c-section got moved up -- well happy b-day anyway as I may not see you before then :)
Thank you, Krys :)
Lotti has kept me up to date.On the odd occasion I played during the last couple of months we must have been around at different times.Good to see you again.
Thanks Woulf *huge hug* Bye all, happy hunting and a wonderful day/night/whatever!
Hi Lotti.
So long, sprite ((**HUG**)) -- happy gift hunting!
See ya Sprite....good luck!!!
Bye sprite
'night Sprite - good to run into you again!
Well due to distance, macadam, our schedules are necessarily off -- and once he gets home -- who knows when I will get to Babble -- hopefully I will be able to do the late night (for me) Babble on the weekends :)
bye sprite
What is the theme for today please.
Ducks!!!!
I`ll keep looking for you.Your schedule is going to be hectic.(as if it wasn`t already!)
Sounds good, macadam ;D
Just going to find a duck.Back soon.
must be time for bed -- still can't noodle the w7
Morning all... another fun-filled day in Babble-land?!
haven't found it yet either. Sprite's hand clue intrigued me.
Hi Jera :)
gw - same beginning as word above, strange ending (go down, then clockwise)
any clues for the lu-5-16 pleez
I think I've found the solution... I get up in the middle of the night to take my painkillers, & Babble while I wait for them to kick in... might as well use my time wisely rather than tossing & turning!
sha had a "r" to the word above it
thanks cj162003
your welcome
Brilliant idea Jera.....Hope they kick in at a good time to walk away though and not when you`re on a roll :)
Concentrating on the grid takes my mind off the waiting... we'll see if I can Babble without meds, I suppose, LOL!
Lotti, any chance of the book arriving today?
Are those yours and dads bath toys???!!! LOL Yes, the boychild read it yesterday.......What time do you finish??
gw and krys - get the w7 yet?
sorry, broll -- brain is shutting down on me :)
What we do with our ducks is our business!! :-) I finish at 10.30.
Sadly no. I've just cleaned off the H's.
w7 - go down on 4th letter, up clockwise
LOL!!!! :D I`ll be there after maths then!!! Best be off, school run....Bye all :)
See you later.Must go too.Bye for.Love to the family GW.
Bye lotti and macadam -- (*hugs*)
finally got it, broll -- my math was off :)
yay, gw. odd, huh?
broll..what do you mean 4th letter?
helen - do you have the w6/39?
actually, I thought the score was even! ;D I should have just googled sprites clue :D
nope!!
YES i do!! sorry
ok, how about the w4/11?
yup
w7/60 = w4/11***
what a strange word!
So part of my prep for mother and son's homecoming is to gather all my daughter's old clothes from the past year and sort through it to see what can be reused ---- My Goodness but there are a lot of them!!
Just had to comment :) --- time for me to turn in and get what rest I can -- (*Hugs to all!!*)
got it thanx broll
We were lucky with that GW as we did not get girly stuff for Sprite... Gwyd has worn many things of hers through the years... fortunately he thniks it's cool!
NIte {{GW}}... sweet dreams!
yw. nite gw
Jera -- we did pretty much the same here, though most of our clothes were hand me downs from friends -- it worls out that they had their children in the same order gender wise -- there son is one year old right now -- so we should be set for the next few years! ;D
G'Nite for real and true now! :)
would someone give me a definitions clue for the s7/32?
krys - just add a common ending to the word above. sh5/12**
One who does the sh5/12 right before it...
huh - didn't think that could be a verb :) thx to you both.
morning all
Mia good morning
can someone give me a clue for the sh 5/12?
looks shiny
i thought it was that one, but i can't seem to make a 7 out of it..oh dear
oh never mind, found it lol
the 7 is bed linen with a common endER
*yawns hugely* Well, I'm back to bed for a few hours with 30 to go... see you guys later!
Jera haha you said a word....LOL
does anyone else see "glue" every time they look at the grid?
Maybe that's why I'm so stuck Atalante :)
LOL! Good one Chessy :)
Morning every1. Just wanted to say hello before I head over the mountain and into the snuggly world of my granddaughter.
morning gramma - sounds like a nice thing to do :)
The roads look a bit sketchy but I'll just go really fast and close my eyes! 8)
C ya on the other side.
has anyone a clue to the el5/12 PLEASE
el to wash out
THANK YOU ...GREAT
HI everyone, I have my f/u appt with the doctor re my knee this am. Am planning to return to work tomorrow :( Have really enjoyed spending lots of time with you playing as long as I want. Will not be able to this anymore except for weekends and days off. Not happy about this but have no choice at the moment.
anyone else playing? Will have to go now. Will try to be back later.
howdy Babblers
Afternoon, Adsman.
hi Jac and Adsman!
howdy, all!
Hi Uneaixoise
so there's a SA8 ... has anyone got a clue for the other one?
Hi Atalante & Une. Do you my ducks? They live on my little barrel pond.
cutey ducks! I was trying to find a pic of my duck I had as a kid, but I dont think I've got any photos of her on my laptop, so I settled for a colourful duck instead!
I made it over the gap. Thru wind and rain and snow...It's Gramma on the go!
great idea, atalante! refresh to see me with one of mine (in tub)
awwwww!
one of our Easter ducks grew to adulthood and we gave him to our local park . . . we could always recognize him from the streak of grease on his back from waddling under the car to get away from our very curious dog!
*Whispers. 'We had roast duck on Sunday'. Sorry!*
roast duck *is* nice ... very nice!
blasphemy!!!!
though I don't ever eat it! Since I had ducks as a kid I can't - the only reason I know its nice is because my evil husband gave me some once and told me it was pheasant or something similar *frowns*!
off to walk the pups . . .
Have a good walk, Une. Atalante - I don't eat rabbit for the same reason.
gmornin all!
Hello, Evan.
how are we all this morning??
Absolutely 'quacking', Evan!:-)
Good morning, evandine :)
Whats with all the ducks today
i already feel like im going quackers! adsman -- the icon themse for today is ducks. :)
Adsman - The theme today is ducks (for Anj).
Oh well, 'eider' better go and get some work done. Can't keep ducking out of it. Got 127 words so far. Will be back in the swim later. *Leaves before she makes any more bad duck jokes.*
get outta here jacula -- we wouldnt wanna ruffle your boss' feathers!
Yes, that would get me 'down'! BYEEEEEEEEE.
im gonna go get breakfast -- back in a bit, hoverers and lingerers! ;)
Good morning...my! things are certainly just ducky here today. Good name for this grid: On the Doubles. Any help for the last two fe's is welcome...
Good morning, everyone. Have the laws of Babble been suspended??? I just typed in fe6/30 which shouldn't exist in this grid because it means using the 'e' twice. (I typed it in to get it out of my system.) Lo and behold, after much thought, it was accepted ??!!!
Never mind, the world is back on an even keel. I refreshed, and fe6/30 disappeared. Oh, well, it was an exciting moment in an otherwise, dull, grey morning.
Hi folks, I just heard that I have a new grandson, weighed in at 8lb 3ozs, but no name yet, they were expecting a girl! So that puts paid to Amelia Jane eh!
what a happy day, Ex-Wren! I'm glad he's here!
ExWren, please don't tell me a story like that. My wife and I are expecting a baby girl in the very near future. We've had to book a plane ticket for her in the name of Regan Elizabeth. If it turns out that she's a he, we might have some problems!
ExWren, congratulations BTW. Didn't mean to be rude!
sorry about that sean, I suppose 'he' could still travel under the name of Regan? Just goes to prove that you can't believe everything you are told. BTW, my daughter in law definitely DIDN'T want a boy!!
I really don't mind whether it's a boy or girl. Fit and healthy will do me just fine. It just might be quite interesting!
Morning, all. Not off to a good start here today. The computer geeks descended on us yesterday. I've lost all of my bookmarks and my Mozilla browser. Had to re-install. Them varmints are pressing their luck when they come between me and my Babble!
Judi...have you tried storing your bookmarks online?
Angel, I will do that eventually. I'm not going to bother now though, as the geeks have not finished messing about yet.
Judi, I don't understand what you're talking about w/computer geeks. But I also lost my bookmarks. Whassup with that?
Gramma - they are "upgrading our system" through a proxy server. Not the first time that such an upgrade has thrown a wrench into our comfortable routine.
Can anyone help with a clue for the re5/18 please.
ok. I don't think I need to understand anymore. I was quite pleased w/myself, when I went from dusting the computer to actually turning it on. And look at me now...they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks! Bah humbug.
HoHum pale again
many thanks gramma
These have me stumped: fe 5/16 second fe 4/7 ha4/7 hints, please?
Angelsong fe is cheese and it's plural
ha is what a farmer does, hopefully 3 times in the summer.
thanks, gramma. was going the wrong way again.
How about sa8? any clues??
DONE...anyone need a clue???
sa8...sharp things around the thing that cuts wood
Angel--for those fe's think about cheese and sheep twice.
q6?
q6 french for 4 or take the q before it and add another letter
Hello.
L8?
found the L8
Greetings and salutations, fellow Babblers!
ouwachita, ty. I had to feed miss ellie and when I came back there was your clue waiting for me.
Hullo, Jera.
Geeetings, fellow babblers..... Anyone wanna clue me up for the L8.....? Thanx.....
I'm embarrassed to admit that the an5/10 has me stumped! help? *fish poised*
Hi there Jera and Movieman ^_^
an5= an+type of creature treebeard is.
movieman, I don't have it. Sorry :{
*smack* (I didn't see that second n hiding in the corner... thanks!)
Belated hello to Movieman. (busy looking for last ne5-18)
L8: Le5/18 plus a three letter suffix.
something you buy is ne***
jera, was that clue off the wall, or did it help?
Sorry, my last post was for your benefit, Angelsong... thanks!
13 to go... all P's, T's & S's... construction across the street is very annoying...
Hi everyone...*sighs* uuurgh, I need babble...just had the worst day at school :/
Greetings, Miya! Nice to see you, hon!
Welcome back miyavi..... How's everything with you.....?
Hey homies :) Baaah, apart from something in science today I'm all right thanks :) How are you?
*sneak*sneak*sneak*POUNCES on Miya* (((((((((*****HUG**** *))))))))
I'm alright thanx.....just purchased season 7 of the Simpsons on DVD (in the Marge-shaped box!!!).....
I'm good cuz I'm DONE!! *happy dance*
Hi everyone... Jera - thanks again for your offer of help last night...my brain was too tired to log on to the computer after work & dinner!! : ) HUG!!
Miyavi! Long time no see!
*Gives Miya a hand up, brushes off dust bunnies* Hiya!!
*hugs back* Hey Easty! I need a hug after today :) Movieman, a marge-shaped box?! funky biscuits...
Nice one Jera! XD
I know the feeling EB... the best way for me to finish is to start early... there comes a time when it's just not worth the late night effort...
Hey Judi! I've been lurking rather than chatting for a while, that's why :) Thanks Easty :D
Miya - did you blow up your chem lab?? Singe the eyes of your teacher??
Does anyone need some quick help... my head is about to explode from the jackhammer across the street... plus I gotta keep an ear out for the plumber...
Hi my litle lurking pal.Nice to see you back.
Easty, I wish...we were handed out some blodge assignments, and we were told we'd be testing samples of animal tissue. One group were told they'd be testing hair, and one of them reached up and yanked out a handful of blond from my head :/
Jera - so far so good...over 1/2 way & still finding words!! thanks!
lol Mac! Nice to see you to :) (((Mac)))
Okey-doke... I'll check back in later... they gotta take a lunch break, right? RIGHT???
Miya - OUCH!! You could always tell the beast that did it, you'd be happy to do animal testing on their brain, but you're not inclined to hurt stupid, defenseless beings!! Hi Macadam!!
Sounds like you need a hug Miyavi.((((((hugs)))))) here are several from me.
*laughs hysterically... sobs quietly... goes to check on valium supply*
Jera - it gives new meaning to "quacking up"...
Hi Eastern Blue.Love the duck.
Good Morning!!! Love your duck, EB!!!!
lol Easty! I'll remember that next time I see him. I think he just had a stupid moment, though...he was sitting there staring at the chunk of my hair in his hand like he didn't know what he'd done! I was proud of myself for not crying though! :)
Hey Mama! :)
MAMA!!! (((HUG)) I haven't seen you for a few days...thanks for your note back...(altho' unnecessary)...I hope you're doing o.k.!!
Hi Miya!!!! Sorry about the hair incident.... OUCH!
Hi EB!!! Good to see you, too! I am hanging in there. Trying not to take life too seriously.
Miya - you're braver than I...it hurts like H-E- double hockey sticks when your hair is pulled...
Don't worry about it Mama...they're just idiots :)
Mama - love your 'duck bear' ...where do you find them all??
EB - Believe it or not, I googled "Bear in Duck Costume" and low and behold...... Google is amazing
lmao Easty! The best thing was that my booooyfriend *flutters eyelashes* was sitting only three seats away, and he had a go at them in front of the whole class :D
Nothing like having a boyfriend defend your honor!!! Almost makes the hair loss worth it!! LOL
Miya - BOYFRIEND?? Do we (meaning all your Babble elders!!) approve of you DATING??? LOL!!! He sounds like a nice fellow!!
*swoons* Chivalry is not dead! Good for your BF, Miyavi. Hope he kicked ass.
sorry...boss is on the call...brb!!
*giggles* oh fine... *and swoons*
Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday! Hope you're all doing well!
Hi all .Im so excited i have finally worked out how to change my icon (only self taught on computer)
Hi caitlyn! Good job!
Hey check out my duck!
cute caitlyn!!! looks like you have all your ducks in a row!!!!! Good job!
Hey Caitlyn! :)
EEww! How morbid!! LOL
Lupe, Musicmom, Caitlyn - greetings. Er, looking a little plucked there, Musicmom.
Hehe. I wasn't thinking morbid. I was thinking dinner.
Hi Judi! How are you?
funny, musicmom!!!!! I had an icon last night that had a duck taped to the wall, but I took a vote and the bear in a duck costume won! Gotta get back to work. Later, all!
HAHA - musicmom...
later mama...
I'm good, Lupe. Couldn't finish yesterday's puzzle. Back spasms prevented me from sitting at my computer.
sorry about that Judi - hope you're better. I didn't finish because I rarely finish!
Somewhat better today. Vicodin and Motrin helping a great deal. At least I can make it through work today ( I hope!).
Sorry to hear about your back. That is a terrible pain. Bye mama.
Thanks, Musicmom. Waiting to start physical therapy for it on the 10th of Feb. (that is if the insurance company approves it. Rat bastards refused chiropractic, so I'm in the begging and finger crossing mode now).
kettles boiling brb
HMO Judy?
Unfortunately, yes, Lupe. Blue Cross HMO used to be really accomodating. I guess they had a changing of the guard recently because it's suddenly like pulling teeth to get referrals approved. Meanwhile, they're happy to keep paying for my prescription pain meds. Go figure.
I've the same Blue Cross Blue Shield Advantage HMO - not sure what "advantage" they're referring to....
I think HMO stands for "How May we Overcharge you"?
LOL - I think your right!
UGH fighting with the insurance is worse than the pain. Now I really feel bad for you!
I'm missing 2 words to finish, cany anyone help me out: wa7/70 re6/18 thanks in anticipation.
sorry ho hum - just started, haven't gotten that far...
LOL np lupe
I'm not that far either. If you refresh, I have a cuter duck:-)
Much better, Musicmom. The other one was making me hungry. I wanted to roast and baste it in cherry demi glace.
Yeah I was getting hungry too and my chicken and dumplings in the crock pot tonight wasn't going to measure up.
oh yeah - better musicmom
Flicking back, I thought HMO stood for Health's Money-making Organization *shrugs*
Whack,whack,whack,whack.....wa s that MuyaviFan I saw earlier?
Nice Miya!
Grl...tis you!!! How the devilled duck are you hun??
thanks Lupe! *bows* Hey Bear! *huggles* except for science today, I'm great thanks! How are you? :)
Suffering January Blues.....big time...all I want to do is eat and sleep.....horrible
Yes, Miyavi, that definition works too.
Tbear...at least for you it's only in January :D *pats*
Hello everyone. Tbear, love, love, love your icon, which has made me smile. I have a lovely wood duck, but felt called to put up Coretta Scott KIng today....
Poor, Tbear. *prepares aromatherapy, light therapy, and chocolates for emergency treatment*
Joke..Why did the mexican throw his wife off the cliff??
Why, why?
afternoony, all!
hi mab
TEQUILA
ho-ho-ho - funny
tbear---- grrrroooaaaannnnn!
LOL! Good one, Tbear.
Hey Mab :) I would put a duck up, but franky I'm too lazy to search for one and hide (the guy in my icon) won't let me
Oh, Tbear... *tumbleweed blows across babbleverse*
ha ha ha h.... Sorry to hear of your Jan deep blue, tbear.
hello fellow babblers ! : ) how's today's grid?
man, looks like i snuck in here unnoticed this afternoon!
I'd tell you, Temple, if my word box didn't say "(no words entered yet)" *sighs* too busy doing homework!
hi Eva and Temple!
I really just got started, but so far, I'm thinking it isn't too terrible. My husband and daughter found about 10 words this morning while I was finding my 5 yo's boots.
Hiya, Evanadine. We're just too busy yakking when we should be babbling.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...I hate jokes but really liked that one... Judi thanks for all the TLC....need someone to care a bit for me feeling very......sad (sitting in front of the light box, eating choccies and enjoying aromatherapy foot massage..) I feel better already :)
So, miyavi, a new boyfriend? Hi evanadine, Temple.
And hello, Temple!
Hey eva. I see you decided to go with Daisy. Excellent choice.
yeah, she seemed to be the favorite. :)
Mab...ehehe...not really counting as a new boyfriend since he's my first {:)
I had a light box, tbear, but it just gave me migraines (my black dogs are not seasonal).
Finished ! Im not very good at giving clues but i will stick around to try!!
Good job caitlyn!!
More details about the BF, Miyavi. You know, height, weight, hair color, age, blood type, etc.
Does anyone have a clue for the wa7? Please
Mab....he's her first her last her everything....it's Miyavi......the androgenous Japanese singing boy/girl
congrats caitlyn!
Wa4-11 + suffix ending. Means "a waving hand gesture".
i seem to have lost the ability to make words more than 5 letters long....

lmao Judi...he's about a head taller than me! Weight...I have no idea. His hair's a light brown, eyes are green/blue and he's 14 :) Tbear, if it were Miyavi, do you seriously think I would have held on without telling you this long?! I'd have pounced and told you within the first five seconds of coming online! ("hi everyone! MIYAVI IS MINE HAHAHAHA!")
Hi EB!

Eastern....hiya......Miyavi so there really is a 'real' boyfriend...Yay....is that why you've been so 'absent'?
Miya - just lookin' out for you...but so far, he sounds like a "keeper" 8 D
wa7? i can't find it....help! (Hi EB)
yawn works dull
TO -- the Wa4 its based on sounds like something people would build to get off a deserted island. then, add the opposite of ME + the prefix meaning "to do again"
Eva that le is a boys name
T-Owl...shouldn't that be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... .I can't find it?? (I don't have it either...)
Yeah, Eastern. He's not androgenous... he's in drag.

I adore your icon, Caitlyn. It's pink! and quite a pretty setting for such droll ducks. Miy: I have a feeling you will not lose your sense of who you are, or have it distorted by boys. This is key, I think. I read back in the log about the hair-pulling -- what a brute! So glad you had bf there to advocate for you when you must have been, to say the least, startled. Eastern, your icon is as precious as you are.
Thanks mab........only found out today how to change icon lol

Bye macadam!
Hi, is any one else having trouble getting to Babblers Anon today?
You're the second person to say that, Peri. I will post the second letter list in my profile, as missy did the other day. Just give me a sec.
rather surprised at a certain TW4 thats in the puzzle today... wow
evanadine, hadn't noticed that word til I saw your post, it has been in puzzles before
okay. second letter list is in my handbag.
Eva...just arrived. I see you settled on Daisy. Nice choice!
i understand some of the slang we use is often a real word meaning something else... but when even the dictionary defines it as slang--and vulgar, at that--and it has no other meaning, does it really have to be in the puzzle then? i mean, i thought slang wasnt supposed to be acceptable...
kristinc -- seemed to be the fave last night, so i appeased the masses. ;)
You know good old Disable, evana -- no rhyme or reason.
hi EvaNadine : ) I'd say the same about the C word that's always accepted. Never acceptable in my book!! : /
heh, truly!
Back from lunch.
mab, thanks so much for the 2nd letter list :)
i agree babbler! i had a friend who thought he was being funny + called me that...he didnt think it was so funny when he had my handprint across his face!
my pleasure. hey, judi.
Back for more babbling - boss is out for the rest of the afternoon!
Hmm sometimes I think it's good to have offensive slang in the puzzle. Sometimes people use offensive words without really knowing their history or what they really mean . . . looking it up in the dictionary might give some people pause before they use the word again.
anyone else having problems with opening babblers annon?
A lot of swear words have lost their meaning. Except for the C word. Still seems to be as offensive as ever.
hi Lupe! Fabulous, evana!
Then again, that would require people to actually look the words up . . .
i have no problem with offensive words that have a meaning/hitory outside of being offensive -- as many of them do. i just take issues with the ones like todays that were created soleley to be offensive... i cant help it.
I don't mind today's, it sounds so funny. But the C word, I have a problem with.
I think I understand, eva. The racial/ethnic slurs make my skin crawl.
can someone tell me the word count?
babbler -- have you ever seen deuce bigalow, eurpoean gigalo? theres a very funny term using todays offensive word...hehe
174
174. (second letter list is in my handbag as babs anon seems to be sticky today)
Thanks Periwinkle. I can't open the babs anon today for some reason.
I couldn't either
no evanadine, I haven't!! : ) A lot of comedians use today's word. It just sounds so funny! And in the north west of England, where I'm from, it has changed its meaning to a sharp slap or good thump! : )
in the movie, they refer to the male appendage as a TW**cicle hehe
i guess its much like any other derrogatory term... with african-americans and the N word... women and, well, several words, but mainly the B word... each group seems to have the one word that they are trying to turn around and give new meaning to -- if you are within that group, using the word has a certain kind of power, but having it said to you it has another kind of power entirely. basically, whichever word it is, if youre not part of that group, you really cant use it, even in jest. maybe *especially* in jest...
got over 100, taking a break, may be back later. This is the last time I will be able to play at this time of day :(. going back to work tomorrow. Been out for two months with my knee injury and then knee surgery. Not looking foward to it.
That reminds me of a news item about Britain curtailing fox-hunting; the RSPCA or someone pointed out that allowing dogs to rip apart foxes is cruel. Some old blueblood fatty replied 'then I shall hunt with bitches!' meaning that dogs are male.
I will be able to play on weekend and sometimes after work if I am not too tired. It's been great fun though playing as much as I want to every day.
peri...what do you do?
Hey Jessie...
I'm a social worker/case manager on an acute rehab floor. It is very busy with rapid patient turnover and I do ALL of the discharge planning.
Oooo, I've never been bleeped before! How annoying! The B word.
Oh peri, that will be a tough transition back then. Going back part time or back full swing?
Full time, I need the money
But it will be a short week for me, and I resolve not to run around as much as I did in the past and to ask for help when I need it.
clue for the le8 please before I really go and take a break
If no clues coming, then will take a break.
Mab - try "bee-yatch". That never gets beeped.
sorry, Peri, I don't have it yet. :/
What creative advice, judi! Thanks. (although I was referring to female dogs)
Sorry, couldn't get into the site. Conspiracy afoot...
le8 is le5/18+ite
Good plan peri...good luck!
wow, ho w is it only just about to turn 2:00?? *UGH*
thanks, oggy
how can lugi not be a word? i know it's gross but no reason to leave it out of babble. lots of gross words in babble
think it's spelt differently :)
babbler thats ok im done
bunny, thanks I'll tone down my indignation. but still
i think i always wrote it out as "loogey" or "loogie"
what does lugi / loogie / loogey mean?
atlante- well, poetically it's snot that you sp4
ewwwwwwwwwwwww!!
LOL, yum! Not so hungry now...
atalante, some american class at its most refined
Is there phlegm involved? I thought it was just sp4-ing.
mab, almost, lugi almost counted, but nope
but, I mean a lugi; is it more than saliva, as in saliva with phlegm? Not to beat a dead horse...
Yes Mab, hack up everything in your throat when your congested, and there you go! New word of the day!
yech.
I'm sooo glad I asked now! *giggles*
mab, i always though it had stuff in it. otherwise it would be called just sp4. so it's sp4 plus so much more. (if you say that last part out loud it rhymes)
Favorite word of the day: fr4/10, the dance. Unless it has some other vile meaning.
mab, not yet. but give it time
Congested amphibian?
LOL bunny!
When I was a kid, boys enjoyed sucking on balled up bits of paper and then sp4ing it. Boys and men sp4 so much, at least in the us. I don't understand the need.
So, smaller, how's the weather?
or a dancing amphibian?
whereas sp4 only means (I think!) throwing up / vomiting over here
It isn't just boys, tee hee... It's a form of recreation around here!
LOL lupe!!!!!
If I keep reading this log, I am risking sp4-ting my lunch back out!
Hi everyone! : )
LOLA!! Hi!
LOL Bunny!!! Hi Lola!
Hi Lola!
lola! lovely mallard!
Hi lupe! Hoe gaan dit? : ) Hey smaller! : )
Lola! I think your duck must have some sort of complex (beak envy?)! Here, the term would be sp4ing up, for mild vomiting. Okay. Sorry Lupe. I'm done.
Goed dankie Lola!
Hi bunny! : ) Hi temple! Why, thank you...lol! : ) Mab! There is nothing wrong with my duck or his beak! *starts scrolling through chat log to compare said beak to others*
my beak is fake ..to make it younger and perkier
Oooooo-kay. How are you doing that lupe??!!
No beak envy in babbleland please!
It's ok Lola, my duck eerily resembles the late Liberace.
LMAO!!!
LOL Lola!
*whispers* I KNEW smaller had had some work done....
oh my!! ROFL!!!
Hey EB! : )
(shhh...just play along. it does look like rubber, doesn't it?)
I always thought you could spot it a mile off. I'm surprised nobody said anything before.....
Keep this under your hat, but I wonder why Atalante doesn't have that growth on the back of her head removed.
don't be jealous ladies. rubber is the new silicone like orange is the new pink
and please note i had a bottom implant too. you don't get that kind of perkiness from nature, do ya?!!
its trendy!! LOL!
and this isn't my natural hair color
smaller, yes...but does it feel the same?? mab, my lips are sealed....poor thing! : /
AND i had my eyes widened
and my arms removed, apparently
I knew it! smaller is really michael jackson! : D
You know what they say: denial is not just a river in Egypt... No, I like it, Atalante.... Very distinctive!
LOLA shhhhhh! you are soooooooo perceptive!!!!
Honestly.
Michael's beak job went so, so badly.
mab...LOL! : D smaller...sorry : /
it's ok lola, it was bound to get out sometime like that other secret i had darn kids
Kids! Smaller, you don't look old enough to have children! Honestly.
Ooooh smaller, we really shouldn't go there! *lola wonders if she should change the subject but the only one she can think of is the disgusting one everybody was talking about just before she arrived*
this bunch is just not right *roflmao*
today I am being - well - distinctive and garish!
Anyone got a clue for wa 7/60? I'm stumped.
temple, bunch?? Aren't we more of a ....flock? : )
we're certainly not a gaggle!
or just a load of duckies?
<GASP> Smaller, he was innocent!
Oh dear, THose kids.... No, really, your duck is gorgeous, Atalante. (except for that hideous comb thing) Really, really special!
Really, Smaller, HOW IS THE WEATHER???
mab - MEOOOOWW *runs for her life as birds scatter* whoops -
hydra, it's the act of waving. Apparently. Take the wa4/11 and add the last three letters of a word that means positive...i.e. Are you **** you want to wear that??
What is the correct term for a group of ducks? There are several different terms used to refer to a group of ducks. Mostly, it depends on what species of ducks are in the group. Paddling, skiff, raft, team and dopping are just some of the terms used. It also depends on whether the group is on the ground or in flight. For example, a group of mallard ducks on the ground is call a “sordâ€, but when in flight, it is called a “flock†(as are all ducks in flight). (from Ducks Unlimited....) Inquiring minds want to know!!
*goes into stealth mode. runs up and snogs lola*
Quack....quack....quack..... just waddling through to see what's going on!
Wow! Eastern, you must get out more. You're entirely too bookish..
Oooh, at least we know daisy likes my beak! lol! Hi evaN! : )
lola100, you're a star. I'd never have got that. Re birds.. I know it's a gaggle of geese, but I've never heard anyone refer to a group of ducks. How interesting.
Love your icon, mamabear. Hope nobody thinks it's quackers. (heh!)
he he! I;ve got an even prettier duck now!
see mab - hydra wanted to know... I was simply providing information!! It's not like I had it memorized or anything...I Googled it!
*sings* animal quackers in my soup...lions and tigers loop-de-loop!
thanks hydra!!! I always get excited when I find a bear pic that coordinates with the day's theme!! (do I have a life or WHAT?)
You're welcome hydra : ) Hi mamabear! : ) EB, that's okay then! *puts arm around EB in comforting manner*
bea-kareful, you lot!
Hi MAMA! How are you?
I don't know, Eastern... That came so trippingly off your fingertips, as if it came straight from memory.... In the novel I'm reading (set in Scotland), they refer to a litter of kittens as a kittel of kittens.
Hi Lola!!!!
Hi Lupe!!! I'm surviving. How are you doing?
eva - now I've got Shirley Temple's voice singing in my head!! (I think I'll be o.k as long as she doesn't start tap dancing!!)
I thought it was a kindle of kittens, mab.
Hi mamabear-in-duck's-clothing!
*lola starts tap dancing as if her life depended on it* } )
mab - copy (CTRL C) and paste (CTRL V) are wonderous inventions!!
I think that's a kindle of kindling..... lol
didnt shirley temple just get a lifetime achievement award at the SAG awards?? *files through memory*
a splinter of kindling??
OK - MAMA. a friend of mine just sent me an e-mail. Apparently someone was trying to get her to pull over yesterday near Halsted/Roosevelt by beeping and flashing a badge. She called 911 and they informed her that he was not Police. Be careful out there. Not sure where you live in Chicago, but this is a good reminder for us all to be alert/aware of our surrounding.
Ooops, you're right, hydra (how embarrassing). A kittel is what a jew is buried in! Sorry.
eva - indeed she did....started in movies when she was 3....
Thanks Lupe - but I never get to that area..... scary, huh?
stuck on the sa 8/65, anyone else have it?
Very scary - glad she did not stop and called it in instead.
bunny - what you use to cut down a tree + things in your mouth that help you chew...
hi mamabear! : )
bunny - past tense of see+what you use to bite into food.
Noticed nobody is talking about the grid... everybody done? Is it a kind one? Is it just ducky? Or is everyone just avoiding it?
thanks, hard time with compounds....
I'm avoiding --- and love to chat with fellow babblers.
Mama - I have less than 50 to go...
Ok. I believed you all along, EB.
mama, it has some odd words today but it's not too bad on the whole : )
been there done there, just enjoying the general quackiness

re 6/18 and 5/10? please
RE 5/10 ~ to fasten your shoe again
re6/18 - sounds like you might be a teenager again (almost) re5/10 - your shoelaces are undone.
Thank you Minski and Babbler..
Minski -- thanks -- a bit slow on the response here -- understandably, I hope ;D
spoke too soon -- missing one of the lta 5/18's -- have the one that is one vowel removed from the ivory to***
ta5 - start with the previous ta5, remove the end and add ie
Nan- add two vowels at the end
The other ta5/18 uses the same first 3 letters as the other but has a short 'for example/for instance' to end it.
Thank you, -- got it and find that I have one more!!! ne 4/4 -- have the one with the double consonant at the end and have tried every other 4/4 combo -- or so I thought!
do you have the goose one?
cybernan ne4/4 ne twice its a goose
Whew! --- got it, thank you .... think it's time for a drink, now that I'm really done!

we 5/18 and 6/36 te 6/18 ti 6/27? Please? sorry so many I have 15 left to find
te6/18 first half of a see-saw
WE5/18 - Plural of the we4 before it.
we 5/18: little ones we 6/36: itsy bitsy te*** we*** -- add a consonant into the last one.
te6/18 - you might stand at the edge of a cliff and te**** on the brink.
we6/36 - another cutesy word for small (usually paired with ee--)
ti 6/27: boob + french iron
ti6/27 - a hat. (Sounds like ti* *** tat.)
TY got the we's and ti.. Still looking for te..
And I am done! Baby is sleeping, Kristianna reading and Momma resting -- it's a Hallmark moment ;D
te6 -- usually paired with -totter
Gotta go -- just realized, no buns for tonights's hamburgers, so a trip to the local bakery is in order. SEe you at the flip :)
Wolfie! Heloooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhw! CONGRATS! Your family is complete once more and all together in your home.x
LOL -- good going GW!
TY GW.. Bye Cybernan... Thank you Also thank you Jacula and Vicuna...
I haven't found one g word yet. Any clues?
9 to go... Woo Hoo
'Bye Cybernan. Take care.
good job gw!
Pine ge 4/6 like the cheese but change to G
pinecone - 1st g is a ge4 - think '*** * life!' 2nd g is ge5 (plural of above).
gi 4/7 - what you give to a good server but change to a G
ty kristina ...don't know what it means..I'll look it up
gi4/6 - Scottish for 'given'.
Sorry I can't stick around now, but Kritianna saw that I finished and wants my time :) May be back later, maybe not -- we will play it by ear now ;) (*JAC*) -- it feels good :) See you all when I next see you!! (*Hugs for all*)
ty Jacula and ty Kristina
gi4/7 - you may give these monetary rewards to a taxi driver, bell hop or food server. But change the 1st letter.
Wolfie - We quite understand. ((((HUGS TO YOU ALL)))XX
I have 4 left.. If anyone can help te 5/10 si 6/18 ti 5/14 we 4/8 one of the last two.. THANKS in advance
There are 2 te5/10's - is it the one after the things that grow in your jaw that you want? If so, think 9 plus 1 + an alien who wanted to 'phone home'.
Thank you.. Now only si 6/18 and we 4/8...
NOW only si 6/18...
si6/18 - archaic past tense of what you did when you got to your chair to play this game. If that doesn't work, try this: If you fall instantly in love with something/someone you could be said to be smi***. Take out the start of the fingerless glove!
THANK YOU SO MUCH Jacula... I'M DONE... Now I need to leave and pick up my little one.. Are you done?
I was done hours ago, K. Happy to help! I love giving clues - just wish Dr_God would pay me for it. LOL. You go and get your little one. Have fun.
Thank you.. Your great at giving clues!!! Take Care and see you tomorrow.. Bye
Byeeee, K.
Help. This is my last word. pe 5/12 , the one in the middle of the pe's right after another 5/12. Can someone help me???
Its just above the one meaning small
right before the pe5 as in pe- point, there is a pe 5 that's a boy's name (my son, in fact) as in "to pe- out"
pe5/12 - Boy's name meaning 'rock'. If something is dwindling, it may be said to pe*** out. Think The Who's Pe** Townshend.
I have that "boy". My list shows another 5/12 right below it
Do you have the pe6/21 meaning 'Small'? If so, the work you seek has no vowel at the end.
there are 4 pe5/12's: hammer heads, boys, small (as in pe-- point), and a woman's slip or p--coat (but without the coat)
Thanks Jacula. That did it. My computer is having a nervous breakdown. But I am donnnnneeee.
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR INGE*~*~*~*~
I'm back...tr6? and last te5/12?...please.
Hi Tim. Last te5/12 is the plural of the te4 before it.
tr6/30 is all of the word above it + something you say when 'the lightbulb of enlightenment' goes on in your head.
the last te5/12 would be its own name if there were ten of them...
BTW, Hello Vicuna. Excuse my manners! Everytime I see your name I think of my beloved pine table and chairs because it was my first set of new furniture and was bought from a firm with the same name as yours. It's still doing good service nearly 30 years on.
thank you jac and vic..dont know how I missed that tr6. yeah right!!!
Hello, Jacula. My goodness, I was thinking of the South American quadruped... But I guess tables and chairs are quadrupeds, too.
But, Tim, surely the wa7/60 has to be the daftest word of the day?
Vicuna - educate me. What quadruped is that?
Yes I'm very good at wa7/60...have it mastered
Actually, at least the wa7 is in my dictionary, but there's no sign of that tr6. After all, I'm constantly commenting on the delicious wa7 emanating from the Indian restaurant in town... (Except maybe not in those very words.)
Tim - I had no idea you were Royalty! LOL. (You DID mean the offical word, didn't you?? Looks *shocked*.)
It's the vicuna, of course! :) It's in the same family as llamas and guanacos.
or even the 'official' word!
good waver....thats me.
Tim. LOL.
I can only find 2 ti words .....WhatsUp.....:-(
Can't concentrate I'm afraid. Too much excitement for one day. My youngest son's wife gave birth to a gorgeous son this morning. We went to the hospital this afternoon and I had a cuddle. No name yet, because according to a scan, they were told it was to be a girl, and only chose a girls name, so now Amelia Jane won't do now!!
Vicuna - I will Google it! It's very educational is Babble; not only do your learn the meanings of new (and sometimes weird) words, but you get to talk to people from all over the world and learn from them also. What could be better?
Maybe Emil John? Congratulations!
Congratulations, Ex-Wren! That's wonderful news.
congrats wren.. ahhhhhhhhhh
How bout just 'A.J.'?
ExWren - CONGRATS! That's 3 Babble babies in a week. 2 grandchildren (Doxy's is the other) and GW's new arrival. Good thing the theme is 'Baby Shower' tomorrow!
Speaking of children, I need to go start another load of laundry. Does anyone need any clues before I go?
Sorry Vicuna - I was off seeing to laundry. LOL. I don't need any clues, thanks.
No, I know you've been done for ages, Jacula! But there are usually lots of silent types struggling away. I am usually one of them.
sp6/33?......sa8????
And right on cue, Tim returns! LOL.
sp6/33 - one who vomits.
sa 4/8 what a fresh cut log is....
thats me ......waving and struggling....lol..:)
sp6/33 - one who sp4/9's (in the spirit of the day, an infant might well be one of these!) sa8 - compound word: jaggedy edges on a wood-cutting implement
sa8 - saw a gret clue for this earlier in the day - 'What would bite your hand if you put it into a carpenter's toolbox'.
*or even a greAt clue.
Hi MusicMom!
Okay I'm going back into hibernation --- sorry tim - no help at all.
you were right jac.....GREAT CLUE....got em both, thanks vic and jac..B-}
hello musicmom..
Hi Jac. I'm here for about 10 minutes and then I'll probably hang out with my husband. Back around 11.
hi tim!
MusicMom - Maths isn't my forte. I have to try to remember that the times on Babble are about 6 hours behind the time here in UK.
I'm in the Eastern Time Zone it is 8:52 p.m. here. Greg and I usually play PS2 or watch t.v. from 9 - 11 (after the kids go to bed). He watches t.v. until 11;30 so I usually check back in then. Haven't been around much today. The puzzle seems easier than the past couple.
Anyone have a clue for the we6/36, please?
we6/36 builds off the two words before it - means 'very small'.
So what time is it there Jac?
Oooh! Husband caught an earlier flight and is home already! Bye, all!
MusicMom - the grid hasn't been too bad today. Having said that, I guess it depends on how long you've been Babbling (so got to know the weirder words to look out for) or if you have the 'DisAble' dictionary (LOL) or you're just very knowledgeable about words.
By Vic
Bye Vic! Don't want you to be caught out Babbling! LOL. (Know the feeling!:)))
MM - it is 1.59 am here in UK as I type.
i think "quasy" should be a word like "that quasy wabbit!"
how about the le5/18 and the le8???
Thanks, Jacula, got it.
<g> why are you out of bed? hehee.
I agree Hurshy
Why am I out of bed? Because I'm busy.
le5/18 & le8 both build from the same basis. For le5, think of the first name of the author of 'Alice In Wonderland' (Mr. Carroll). The le8 builds on that - think of Eisenhower's nickname but change the middle letter.
Mary - y/w.
thanks jac, those are just silly!
le5/18 - A dovetailed iron tenon made of several parts and designed to fit into a dovetail mortise in a large stone so that it can be lifted by a hoisting apparatus. le8/60 - An oily, colorless to violet or brown liquid, C2H2AsCl3, used to make a highly toxic gas weapon.
Tim - Not as silly as they seem at first.
le8 sounds like some nasty stuff!
Tim - I was going to type, 'You live and learn' but, given the le8 maybe not!:-(
20 left .....need to take a break...thanks I'll be back..thats a warning.
true..true
*Jac rushes to fridge to find a cool drink in readiness.*
Hi all. Sushi here. Ok, Jac. for those of us who are not American I will need another hint other than Eisenhower's nickname. And thanks for including the chemical name for Le60
Hiya Sushi. I'm from UK, but I try to to UK clues when UK peeps are around. Okay, for the ending of the Mr. Carroll word, think short form of Michael and take off the first letter.
(Ending also sounds like what singers sing through to make their voices heard.)
got it thanks! and here's to words that end in OUR
Sushi - where are you from?
Canada but living in the deep south USA.
Sushi - I woulnd't mind betting that if you Googled 'Eisenhower's nickname' you'd have got the answer though.
My fave band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, were from the South.
with all these hints it now occured to me. *** and Tina turner. Just not feeling too worldly tonight.
Go Lynyrd. My fav band was from UK - Stones.
You're right! I'm usually the one that gives musical clues. It would have been a far easier way of saying it! (((HUGS))) if you're feeling a bit down though.
Free Bird - my fave song of all time. (I'm nearly 49 now, so I reckon I'll not be changing my mind about that.) The Stones - brill!
Just kicking myself, since this was my night to go to bed early and here I am babbling about.
BTW, it's the live version of Free Bird I love the best. 'What do you wanna hear?' and all that.
Hey your age in not old - just clasic. Note that I am the same age.
Sushi - if you want to sleep then don't feel obliged to stay here. However, if you continue kicking yourself, I recommend Arnica for bruises. LOL.
Yep. My score is *high enough* tonight. So good nite all.
Classic, eh? Must remember to tell my other half that!
Goodnight, Sushi. Nice to meet you.
mistress!!!! i'm still at the office!!!!
Hiya Ren!
I'm playing with a Black Dragon on another site right now but I will find the pics you requested.x
did the troops desert you? or is it dessert?
ok - i haven't been home long enough to burn the cd w/ the other pixs!!!! hey tomorrow is smaller's birthday.
Yes, I know it's Smaller's birthday tomoz but I don't have her mail to send her a card. Tomorrow's Babble theme is 'Baby Shower for Wolfie & Family'. We also have 2 new Babble grandchildren - Doxy's and ExWren's.
Ren - I think the Babble troops just all got their words or went to bed.
Ren - May I just ask why you have to burn your pics to cd in the first instance? If they're off digicam you can just download them to your computer, same if you scan them in.
Actually I am still lurking while listening to our Pres on the TV.
inge...I'm doing the same thing!!
I'm listening to Fred Astaire instead (singing).
What's the Pres. saying then? Is he going to join the effort to stop Global Warming?
Did you know they took down all the bus shelters in downtown Detroit for security reasons for the Super Bowl??
Jacula - that's not his agenda...he's for big companies, oil and things to help his cronies succeed....
Gee. I thought that deep freeze in Russia and Europe was his doing to prove his theory right.
ooooo...mab - what song??
Oh no, Jacula; that's 'voluntary' here. It's strictly up to the corporate conscience.
Ah, voluntary! Like rebuilding Philly after Katrina then?
Jac - one could only hope we'd get a Pres who would REALLY focus on the environment....
Corporate Conscience...is that an oxymoron?
tabby - yes...indeed it is...
EB - I 'could' say a lot of things here about why I believe the US gov has done nothing for Philly. Some (many) are monetary reasons, others *may* have to do with race. However, the Babblelog is not the place to voice these thoughts. So, there you have it from a'white Caucasian' Brit!
EB: The Way You Look Tonight, Let Yourself Go, Let's Call the Whole Thing Off, I Can't Be Bothered Now, Slap that Bass, Bojangles off Harlem, Top Hat and Tails, Pick Yourself Up, Shall We Dance, and a few others. I like this CD a lot. You get to hear him tap, too.
mistress - they are on another computer.....8(
Jacula...I think you mean New Orleans...not Philly.
please help with le ,thanks
Jac - minor geography...it's New Orleans...and I would (I think) be on the same wavelength from your 'hints'...but I will refrain from too much politicizing in the log too!!
mab - good stuff!! my blood is starting to boil listening to the Pres...
Tabby - you may well be right. It's late/early here but my anger is no less over the subject for it. It smacks of money-saving, and 'KKK' and it makes me sick!
Ditto - EB! Not the place!
Ren! How many computers do you have? LOL.
Yvo - which 'le'?
any help on a te 6? I have the "small" one. TIA
need a ta 5/18 that comes just before the te adolescent or before the word just above the te adolescent, please?
Eastie, I'm very politically/socially conscious and usually make myself listen to the Shrub, but tonighit the moment I heard his voice I switched to Fred.
i think its the big one i have the name and the direction
hokie - te 6 a playground item... te _ _ _ _ 'totter'
the fact of katrina - she hit at a catagory 1 not 5. the funds for the levy reinforcement were actually spent on graft and corrpution, and on having a really good time by many louisiana officials. some of our our tax money is currently paying for drugs, prostiution, and nights in the clubs. if you are not in houston and having little old women murdered by some of the katrina evacuees...please don;t balme the pres - nola flooded becasuse the gove funds originally slated for the levey were ill spent. or if you are afraid to go to your car or have your chiildren play outside because 44 rapist and child molestors were sent to houston and have not been found....there i've said enough.....
mistress - we have 6 computers......
Jac stands up and applauds Ren.
Ren - we have 5 or 6 computers, too.
mab - I still have it on in the background...
thanks, EB. I kept looking in the wrong direction. angel...I think the one you're looking for is a more adj. version of the word that would be right above in your list. But I have no idea what it means.
5 computers here...7 if you count the laptops
mistress we try to keep pixs and logs et el on our main frame; however..sometimes mez e-mails me pix and i file them on my notebook....one day i will get my computer's organized.
I can only look at the US situation from what we are told here in the UK, but I can only say that it doesn't look good from here, despite what your Pres's crony here might try to tell us.
Thanks Ren, that needed to be said.
mab - i got a blur that mrs king had died. my mother was very active in the civil rights movement. i will get on line and read about mrs king.
Angel - ta 5 - t + "_ _" shucks + " _ " before " _ " except after C...
Jac - it's taking a strong swing toward staunch conservativism...
oops, EB. I have that one. try again?
OOps, Sorry! (Very British thing to say, I know!) Got sidetracking being political back there. Did I miss someone in need of Babble clues? BRB, when I've dealt with the next lot of laundry.
Angel - same first 3 letters + anothER ending...
EB - I am a Tory (in the true Blue sense) but none of what's happened in US makes any sense to me!
Jac - I swing toward the liberal side...social issues, etc.
i feel really bad for mrs. king. i heard that her husband cheated on her a lot. it must be hard all these years to have always kept up the image of him being so great - which he was of course - but at the same time probably still bear so much personal hurt...
any help tonight on the le8? pls
hurshy, he did sleep with other women, but Coretta understood him on a very deep level -- I think it was complicated. I've just begun the second of Taylor Branch's three-volume work on King and the civil rights movement.
pbr - start with the author of "Alice in Wonderland" + hoity toity person might be called a social "_ _ _"
Can I have a clue for wa 7 60 please...
EasternBlue -- as usual thanks for the clue.. on to the Lu's -- I am a bit behind today.
Any clues for the ti6 or the s7? Thx!
When I came out of college I made a life rule to myself, 'Never talk politics or religion to people who you want to remain friends with'. I've broken that rule a few times but not lost many friends yet.
any help with the last three te's?
wa 7 - the 'floating' wa 4 + smelly stuff from cows is called man"_ _ _ _"
ti 6 - you might hear the express ti_ 4 tat.... (spell the "4" as a slang type!)
sh 7 - a person who does the stuff you have on your bed....
Thank you EasternBlue! Done!!! Got the sh7. One of those duh moments:)
Jac - those are all the fun things to discuss!! as long as people respect what the other person is saying!
interesting, mab. she must have been very special.
te's te 4 - use this camping te 5 - 1/10 te 4 - you might "te_ _"er a horse to a hitching post
thank you EasternBlue
incidentally - does anyone recognize my duck?
hursh - Aflac??
no...
Hurshy - is it a famous duck? My ducks are the mum. dad and baby on my barrel pond in the garden.
I got the wa7 this afternoon, but I keep looking at the clue, wondering if cows create something called "man pies." Oh well!
stuck on lu5...
hmmm.....no, hursh, he looks pretty much like most domestic ducks i can think of. Is he the duck that was on the old Dick Van Dyke show? Green Acres?
Blimey, Mab! I recognise her now! That brings back old memories.
pbr lu like a sled
pbr - lu 5 - one who does the lu 4 (the fast sled in the winter Olympics)
i guess ducks ARE pretty hard to tell apart. no, this is joey and chandler's duck from friends.
no hurshy....i don't know who your duck is....
hursh - LOL!!
lu4./7 & lu5/16: 1. A racing sled for one or two people that is ridden with the rider or riders lying supine. 2. A competition in which these sleds race against a clock.
One more to go. Can I please have a clue for et 5 18 please...
Oh, yes! How could I mistake that beak!
somebody should have had a goose icon, then we could play duck, duck, goose
Sue - et + _ _ _ Willie Winkie
thanks all for the hint - lu5..
et5 - add a w word for very small
Wel, knowing Joey and Chandler (2 of our rabbits named after the Friends family) it's entirely possibe that they nicked the duck from Green Acres.:-)
ok, ive got 2 icons in mind for tomorrow -- can i get some opinions??
Jac - I think Zsa Zsa roasted the duck from Green Acres!!
Evan - we're here to 'opine'! Go ahead...
Thank you hurshy and EasternBlue. Finally done.
eva - show us your stuff!!
I'm still looking for some pe's...gotta figure out which ones!
ok - i'm going home as soon as the guard comes to walk me to my car...see ya'll later or tomorrow 8)
ok, option #1 -- blue
for some reason i smell fish oil. but why?
Joey & Chandler had a chick, too!
Actually, it was Eva Gabor on Green Acres. Don't ask me how i would know that....
eva - cute! Bye rennie!! safe trip home!!
yes but it isn't chick day.
Safe journey, Ren. Keep away from the light, garlic and crucifixes.
ok, got it evanadine. what's the other one?
mab - who was the man on Green Acres??
option #2 -- stork
Mab, I think it was Eva rather than Zsa Zsa. (What what their mother's name? Fifi, or somesuch?)
I think the man was Dick Van Dyke?
I like the stork better!
Eddie Albert, wasn't it?
Eddie Albert?
I vote the stork!
yes, eddie albert
mab - that's it!! Eddie Albert... eva - I vote for the stork too...
(and harp & une!!)
storkie-yorkie it is!!
hmmm... am i a bandwagon hopper? the stork is nice. yes, i will vote with the stork too.
Twas Eddie who died at 99 in 2005.
Oops! I said a grid word.
ok all, im off to bed. gnite all!!
ok...3 pe's are needed...any and all help appreciated!! 1st pe 6/33 (not the silverware stuff) last 5/12 5/20 thanks!
*shock*
Nite Evana. Sleep well.
*horror*
eb - 1st pe 6 - #1 + smart, classy humor
nightie night eva!! may the stork carry you to peaceful slumber!!
1st pe6/33 is the name of a bird - sounds like a piddler + someone who would keep you amused.
last 5/12 - like the word for little but reverse last 2
5/20 like the 6 i just gave you but drop the double vowel
Last pe5/12 - think of an old word for underslip pe***coat.
babble babble
You have 0 word(s) left to find thanks!! great clues!!
quack! quack!
think i'm gonna head out too folks
lol auntie. :) goodnight!
babble, babble your grid is a mess, babble babble you're lost, now confess! LOL
nightie night hurshy!! may you paddle off to dreamland!
Duck down under your eider and have a snooze.
Jac - isn't it past 3:30 in the morning for you?? how ever are you awake???
Sorry, forgot to say that my 9:38 post refers to Babble parody songs (see BabbAnon) and is to the tune of David Bowie's 'Rebel, Rebel'.
Jac - I got it! the rhythm just flowed with it! 8 D
EB - people don't always do 9-5. Lots of reasons why they may not.
all done . . . g'nite everyone!
*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR UNE*~*~*~*
eb -:-)))))))))
congrats Une! Jac - I know that all too well...for a long time, hubby worked the overnight shift...didn't get to see him too much back then : ( much happier when we're both on days!! I didn't realize that you were 'at work'
EB - you also have to take some time to get your shifts back in synch.
And then they bl*** (will bleep myself here, save DR_God doing it!) change again!
Jac - my hubby's family (Dad & sister) are both 'night owls....I try (when I can), but around this time, I get snoozie!! he's at his prime at midnight! But...it gives us each 'our' time - me in the earlier part of the morning...he in the wee hours at night!!
Does anyone have a good clue for the wa 7/60 or the tr 6/30? Thanks
What is the second(?) ta 5/18 I have the one that refers to working with leather.
Excactly, EB. The night owl and the lark CAN survive! More likely to do so, in fact.
DONE!!!
*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR ANGELSONG*~*~*~*
musicmom, just change the last two letters of the one you have.
munner - wa 7 - your wa 4 that means 'floating' + smelly cow man"_ _ _"
It says that isn't in the grid
musicmom - same first 3 letters + "_" before "_" except after c....
woo hoo Angel!!
Munner - wa7/60 must bee the silliest word on here yet. It's the art of waving. Wa4/11 + a 2-letter word you might say if you're not sure of something.
Thanks Eb got it!
munner - tr 6- your tr 4/7 + _ _-ha! I've got it!!
Sorry! That clue was for the 6-letter word. The ending for the 7 is Midge the Musician's surname.
clues for the 2 re6's?? please
re 6 - to 'clean' again re + like 13, 14, 15 year olds...but reverse the last e letters...
Munner - I meant Midge U*** from Ultravox, btw.
ooops! re + like 13, 14, 15 year olds...but reverse the last 2 letters...
Anyone still need clues?
easternblue, thanks for the tr.
we 6/36?
Still struggling with the wa 7. I'm not familiar with Ultravox?
musicmom - the te_____ we_____ spider....
OH BROTHER and I teach music to toddlers. I didn't really think that was a word<g>
munner -see my clue at 9:55...just a few down...different clue - it might? help!!
musicmom - i was a preschool teach & tried it for kicks...couldn't believe the grid took it!!
oops...teach"er"...keyboard sticking...
well now I know<g>
For the ending of the wa word - a space is an apert***. Chilling out here listening to Otis Redding 'On The Dock of The Bay' - best chiling out song ever, surely?
took a while, but I finally got the re6's thanks.
Next song on my cd - Marvin Gaye's 'Abraham, Martin & John' might seem like a chilled or even chilling out song, but it isn't.:-(
Jac - definitely a good song... Well kids...I think I'll be headin' off to bed...long day at work today & another busy one tomorrow!! have a good night all!!
g'night EB
'Bye. EB.x
I need a clue for the first pe 6
Thanks, Jax, finally got it. Brain needs recharged. Good night, all/.
'night eastie!
Good night munner
qu 6? found all the other qu words very easily
Night Eastern:
Pinecone - it's a bird, a lapwing. Sounds like having a wee and then being clever and funny.
qu6 - French for 4.
Jac...dare I ask, what time is it for you?
Thanks jac!
thank you Jacula..you came to the rescue
Krist - it's 4/13am here in UK and don't dare tell me 'it's time you were in bed'!
qu6- add a constenant befor the last vowel of the qu5 above
le8?
Jac-not a peep from me :)...just curious. Actually I think it's amazing. Press on!
Poor Jac. You have taken a hard time tonight haven't you? I for one am glad you are awake or I wouldn't have the number of words I have.
ooh, sorry Jac, I just arrived...didn't know others were just as "curious"! Mostly I couldn't do the math myself
le8 - so tired of giving this clue (not your fault!)First name of author of Alice in Wonderland + Tina Turner's partner (change middle letter to last part of a place where builders work.)
thanks Jac
Eventually, I will find the perfect clue to give for this one. In the meantime, I'll chill out listening to Elton John's 'Your Song'. Happy memories from my teens!
teenaged dreams from back in N. Wales, doing the old house up etc. There was an ivy tree growing up through the middle of that house. We aren't together now, but neither of us has lost the dreamabout that particular house.
And for anyone who's reading through curiousity - we never did marry! Shared dreams don't always mean that!
one more and then off to bed with me. Not bad for working on this in fits and starts today. I got all but 25
I'll shut up now, LOL!
Why shut up? I think it is interesting. I'm just tired:-) Not leaving because of your memories.
MM _ I posted the I'll shut up now thing before I saw your post.
I'm listening Jac inbetween frantically searching for words.
Jac: You had a good relationship with a person. Don't have to explain. Marriage isn't always what it is suppose to be cracked up to be. Enjoy, whatever.
Not much else to say on that saubject now anyway, unless the music reminds me.
Hiya Jojo. Sorry for the fall-out the other night. The marriage I had certainly was not all I had hoped. The relationship I have now is the very best though. I've hoped and waited a long time, but, eventually. HE arrived.
Jojo - 20 or 30 yearsa seems so very long to wait... I know.
Jac: Sorry too. **kisses and hugs**. You know, you probably have the right relationship right now. You don't need marriage, enjoy the moment.
hiya - i made it home!!!!!
Guess what, JoJo - even ex-hubby's finally got it right at last. He's taking his new wife to The Maldives for her 50th. Shame he realised it was the place I'd always wanted to go just after he said it! I'm a year behind his new wifey, btw.
Jac: Don't think you are waiting, enjoy what you have right now. Marriage is not for everyone. "Love the one you are with." Hmm, I think that was a song lyrics back in the 60's.
Hiya Ren! Glad you made it home.
mistress sent you an e-mail b4 i left the office....8)
Ren: I guess I haven't been tuned in, where have you been? Welcome back, however.
jojo - i just arrived home from work....8)
Ren: Welcome. Relax, pour a glass of wine, and sit back and babble. Missed U.
Ren - will go check my mails. In the meantime I will leave you lot listening to 'Midnight Train To Georgia' by Gladys & The Pips. Sung so VERY well by a lass called Lisa here from our high school. The fat, white lass many laughed at... She's the one with the recording contract.... GO LISA!!
thanks jojo,,,i'm just chillin...don't tink i can babble tonight....8)
ok mistress - that's a swell song...where can we listen to it?
Jac: I am sure I am much older than you, so from one woman to another, don't stress over your ex. Someday he wil get his rightful payment. Concentrate on your now companion, don't dwell on the past.
Ren: There is times that I don't babble either, or show very poor stats. There is nothing wrong with enjoying babbling on the chat line. It can help you relax after a long day on the job. No prob with me, you not babbling, go for it and just chat for a while, if it relaxes you.
JoJo , I'm 48, 49 end of April or thereabouts. Born 1957. I'm not stressing about my ex.
Good evening. Surprised to see you here, Jac!!! Today was a waste of a square on the calendar...... hope all you nice people had a better one!
Jac: Good to hear that. I'm 60 and holding, but will never be old. Good you are not stressing about your ex. Proud of you.
Ren - I'm sure we've got Lisa's cd here somewhere. Can't find it instantly though. Sorry!
you're right jojo...some days i read so many contracts that my eyes don't want to look for words and i just like to read the chat...8)
Hiya Mama! What's wrong? ((HUGS)))
hi mama b....let's erase the day!!!!
I found my husband's name is here: sh 5/20 and the definition is basically...a proper name. So, to my international friends or possibly hipper American friends, is there another meaning for the word or is he just special?
Ren: Then go for it, just chat. Nothing in the world wrong with that. In fact everything in the world right with that, if you enjoy it.
You know those times in your life when it is just one damn thing after another? I am way stuck in that cycle. And every time I talk myself into "focusing on the good stuff" and moving on, something else happens.
good idea, ren!
I have no words today. And it will stay that way. Just got home and I know I won't be able to sleep, so I thought I'd see what was going on in here for a while.
sh5/20 - apart from the American dancer, there's the sheep from Wllace & Gromit, and you could say a sheep has been sh5/20 when its fleece has been removed.
Mama, I'll share my words with you...pretend you have 136 and counting. The week is almost halfway over btw!
thanks kristinc *hug*..... jac - isn't it something like almost 5am by you?
Mama - we girls are here with you. Don't give in.xxx
Jac...thanks, all is right in the world now. Because if one person got their name in, then you know, everyone would want theirs in too :)
Hi JoJo.... sorry... didn't mean to ignore you!!
Mamabear: You know, life takes it's turns. Remember that everyday that you spend like you did today, just makes you get stronger ~~ and stronger~~ and stronger. You wil just get stronger. How about those apples. I have had a lot of topsy turvy times in my life, but it only made me stronger. You can do it gal.
Evening everyone. Kristin - It's a medieval horn too. Sorry.
Something like 5am. Mama. My other half's just got up all by himself and hs iven me coffee and seems p***ed off with me. That's life!
my names been in the grid several time this past month....however...it's only 3 letters....
are you up early on Wednesday, or up late on Tuesday, jac?
God help any male who arrives on the grid right now! It's time for us females, I reckon.
I've been trying to finish but I think I'd rather talk too. I thought I was the oldest on here and probably among conservatives. I've been proved totally wrong and now feel truly at home!
ren...impressive. I suppose the 3 letters helps, I'm pushing it w/ 7
If you've been up all nite, jac, why is he giving you coffee??????
Oh, so funny! Build Me Up Buttercup by The Boxtops is playing in my headphones now. Checl the lyrics out, if you don't know them.
Hotd*** I FINALLY figured out that pe 5!
Hoot: Yea I am probably the oldest on the chat tonight. So be it. I am still walking, chatting, and talking, and proud of it. Anyone need any advise? Not that I can answer all the problems, but, I do have age in my favor.
Hoot - Glad you've finally got the point of all this cr** at last!x
Why do you build me up, build me up, Buttercup, baby, just to bring me down.. and mess me around.... and worst of all, worst of all, you never call baby when you say you will, but I love you still.... I need YOOOOOOUUUU more than anyone baby.........
Negative! I am! Be 65 in march and my BF is 50. Waited 20 years after my divorce to get involved again. THAT's why I'm in Memphis!
you know that i always will...so built me up buttercup don't let me down....
good for you hootowl!!!!!!! I am hoping someday to find the proverbial Mr. Right too, but I have to get rid of Mr. Wrong first.
Meant pe6 - still need 5/20
ok...that should be build......erase.....the tape...
whew ! I'm done! Anyone need a clue?
Got The Drifters, Saturday Night At The Movies' now in my headphones, followed by 'Where Did Our Love Go?' by The Supremes. Gawd! Surely on 60s girls and guys could understand those ones?
i'm clueless.....
Professor Plum in the library with the lead pipe.
pe 5/20 is pe + to be clever
Hoot: You win. I lose, but good for you having a BF! Congrats.
i buttle...i love that line...
Sure - remember playing whole strings of songs on a jukebox to try and get a message across. They usually feigned ignorance!
Hey, HOOT! Yes, you waited a long time. But never give up hope! And as for your b/f - he's peed you off momentarily, I guess?
Thank you.
JoJo - advice????? I could keep you busy all nite!
Arrgh! Same word smaller! No wonder I was confused!
Everyone: Just remember us women rule!!!
Like the Bee Gee's say..... they're only Words.
i just played my guitar and sing 'em a song....like...the night they drove old dixie down...or love is just a 4 letter word....guess those were the wrong somgs....hahahahaha
Lol - Here's a new 'group word': a confusion of women. Copyright Jacula!
Ren - if you play Joan Baez songs on hour guitar you won't go far wrong with me!
Nope - he's sleeping. Shift switch means he has to be in at 6am. He''l be up at 4:30. We've been together for a year and have yet to find anything to fight about! Pure heaven after my marraige where everything was a fight!
YES...i love that a confusion of women!!!!! confusion say.....
Mama: First, who is Mr. Wrong? Your husband or BF? Need to know that before I continue. Remember you asked.
husband
Conucious say - never mess with women or your balls may clash.
Hoot: What you have said, sounds like a keeper to me.
*or even Confucious!
Someone sent me a joke today of a man standing by a machine with his "privates" under a metal tray - (kind of like a Xerox machine)..... and the title under the picture was "Manogram"......hahahahahaha ha
mistress!!!! you left me speechless!!!!
Mama: Oh, Oh. Kids involved? Is he abusive to you or kids?
LOL, Ren.
Mamabear I realised after 2 yrs he had to go. But I'd had woulf and my family were not supportive. So I waited, went to school, got a decent job and then walked. I was looking for anything to happen. Decide to leave NY and go to Texas. Met BF on the way down. Known only from a BB we belonged to. When I left Tx to go to Knoxville he offered me a bed for a night. The rest is history.
my kids are grown - 25, 22 & 19. Emotionally abusive, neglectful ...... it's such a long story.
Still wake up amazed and pinch myself a lot!:)
what's a "BB", hootowl????? I am very happy for you.... everyone should have the opportunity to experience real love at least once in their lives.
WASN't Looking for anything!
sounds like a fairy tale, hoot!
just glancing at the grid...... like a zoo!!! (full of animals)
hello, can I have a clue for the te 6/24 please?
It's a bulletin board. Was for a handyman group. We both belonged and e-mailed and IM'd just to talk. When I left NY I was heading to another member who had offered a place to stay while I job hunted. I decided to meet as many members as possible on the way. I e-mail, IM and call about 15 people in my core group. I have a place to stay just about anywhere in the USA!
sorry, chic. as I have "0 words FOUND" - didn't play today.
Mama: Probably every woman on this chat line tonight can relate to emotional abuse. Men most of the time "just don't get it". There is choices you can make, either get out, or live with his emotional abuse. OR, just get strong and tell him to ~~you know~~ __ off. I bet as soon as you hold your ground, things will change. It did with me. Life is not always a wonderful road, but things can change, if you aren't willing to let your mate to just treat as someone beneath him. It worked for me.
VERy, very small
Isn't it amazing how the Internet has virtually changed people's lives????
chic: young person 14, 15, 16 (te**) +sy mama: remember, you have 164 words! :)
got it kristinc *wink, wink*
thanx, kristinc
Please I'm hearing echos. Tried that a few times. He usually apoligised, was good for a month, then back to put-downs and yelling. Only time it lasted more than a month was when I tried to hit him with a formica dinibg room chair! That lasted 6-7 weeks. Chair weighed about 40lbs! Only reason I didn't kill him was cause I het the ceiling before I got to him.
JoJo- I know the choices I have and the decisions I have to make. It's being ABLE to make them that is difficult. I have told him for a very long time how I feel, and he is unwilling to change, so the person that has to change is me.
Mama: Sounds like it is more than just emotional abuse, being that you thru a chair at him. Right?
Mama if anyone had encouraged me I might have done it sooner. After we split almost everyone that knew us asked me why I'd waited so long. Meanwhile I'm starting to believe it's my fault. :(
Mama: Sorry: that was hootowl that threw the chair, not you. Sorry.
YIKES!! Hootowl..... I am not the violent type. But 2 weeks ago as I was leaving for work in the morning, I took all the tv, vcr, dvd, etc. remote controls to work with me and left them there for a week. THAT got a rise out of him.
Nope - never hit me. Words can do a lot more damage sometimes. And the fights were basically power plays. Leave for a party, start a fight in the car, drive around for an hour yelling at me, finally get to party and it's my fault we're late. Question something he did or didn't do and listen to 4 hrs of screaming.
hootowl - I know what you are saying. There are people (including my daughters) who are sympathetic to my situation. I am just trapped right now, mostly because of financial reasons.
Hootowl: That is what men try to find, is women who doesn't have enough confidence in themselves. You feel it is your fault, even tho you haven't done anything wrong, because, somehow you don't have confidence in yourself. Believe me I am no shrink, but I have been there. No one pushes me around anymore. Took me a while to realize that tho.
Sorry folks. Not the physically or even emotionally viilent myself usually. Both occured here, and now he's gone to work. and we're both pretty p'dd off. Oh, how funny that Normanb Greenbaum's 'Spirit in the Sky' should blam in to my headphones right at this stupid moment.
I'VE GOT 43 WORDS IS THAT GOOD OR BAD COZ IM NEW HERE
THIS man asks me what I'd like to. Where I'd like to go. Helps. HE vacuums cause he knows I hate the sound of a vac. Makes breakfast and occasionally cooks dinner (when I let him) Does laundry. Complete 180! We share his cmp right now and he lets me babble or anything else whenever I want. Peace is wonderful!
that's wonderful billie1987!!!!! Just have fun - there's no "good" or "bad".... in Babbleonia!!! Welcome!
Thank Gawd for Mama!
Jac - are you ok?
um...sorry to interupt important conversation but I feel it necessary to point out that mama and I are now finished looking for words. Yipee! Also...you all keep strong. You each are brave, brave women who have or will emerge even stronger and more beautiful. Goodnight all!
why you say that, jac?
Think we have to slow down. Jac ?
hootowl - does he have a brother???? LOL
Mama - Yes, I am, truly. It's just a storm in yet another teacup. He's really p'd, I know, well I know why. Nowt to do with me.
I DONT MEAN TO SOUNS NOSY BUT HOW MANY HAVE YOU GOT PPL
we're done, kristinc?????? Whew.... that was a tough one!!!! LOL good nite.... and thanks!!!
Sorry - bro is not like him at all and is on his 5th wife! :):):):)
billie1987 - there are 174 words in the grid today.
jac - well I hope he cools off while he is gone and realizes he is taking it out on the wrong person then!
alrighty then, hootowl, scratch THAT idea!! LOL
Billy it doesn't make any difference this late. The puzzle will change at midnight. Suggest you read the rules and check out Babblers Anonymous at the bottom of the box in the upper right hand corner. Under General there will be a list of what words are needed and how many of each. Helps alot. Welcome aboard
Changes at midnite!!! OMG .... I didn't realize it was so late.... I have to get to bed..... gotta get up early for work..
Hoot - Well, the name he called me when he went off to work after we ladt 'punched' each other, could have referred to me or to anyone. We will see. Christ! What conspiracy is this? 'Unchained Melody' is playing into my headphones now!
I've found that to be pretty normal. If there is 2 or more bros, one will be great and the others anywhere from crazy to nasty to blah. The former will be married or otherwise taken.
If I heard Unchained Melody right now, it would reduce me to tears...... for sure.
Mama and Kris: Congrats and good night.
Oh mama wish I could help you. Jac turn it off! That always happens. Why suffer?
Sorry! We sounded like Johnny Cash & June Carter, didn't we?
mistress - do you hvae unchained melody by long john baldry?
Nighty night
you mean like - we got married in a fever - ???
Jac: Are you in trouble?
Wasn't being nasty jac. Just meant you shouldn't make yourself suffer any more than necessary. They'll keep playing stuff like that. It's fate or something.
thanks hootowl..... I am a VERY patient person.... if you remember, I had a possible job opp in Long Island. That was my "Plan A".... now that that has been put on hold indefinitely, I need to move on to "Plan B".. just not sure what that is yet.
Hootowl: You have a great sleep.
Aaah. Well a job is definitely a good idea. Keep trying.
Oh I have a job here. It's not that.
Oh no. Not me. Was aimed at mama. I'm here til about 1.
Night all!
And I finish with 136 words
Yeah, I said I was gonna go, didn't I????? *mamabear whispers....jac.... you ok???? I'm worried about you...*
good nite JoJo - sleep well!!!! *hugs*
Mama: I am worried about Jac too.
and I stop in to say hi and to let everyone know that Sebastian is home safe and find out stuff about my mom I never knew! Hi all!! (*HUGS*) ;D
BUSTED!!!!!
nite jojo opps hoot...your son is here!!!!
You weren't supposed to be here!!!!!!!!
And what didn't you know?
Woulfie. Like what stuff about your mom. Whatever it is forgive her, (if it is not to your pleasing).
I knew about the stuff my father pulled -- lord knows I was there for a lot of it -- but trying to take him out with a chair! -- that's new to me :)
Sorry, hootowl... my fault for bringing up the subject.....
Night
Don't be silly mama - he just doesn't remember it all. Felt good to tell someone too.
Not that I didn't consider it a time or two myself --- when hoot left and I chose to stay with him -- I became the next target :\ Part of the reason why I haven't talked to him in years
Mama -- no fault -- time separation makes it easier to make humorous -- no trauma here, so don't worry (*Hug*)
And just to clarify - I wann't TRYING to kill him! Just wanted to hurt him back! AFTER I realised I could have killed him.
Woulfie: Obviously Hootowl (your mom) was defending herself, or I am sure she wouldn't have done that with the chair. You cannot condemn her for that.
GW - I am glad Kirsten and Sebastian are home and can sleep in their OWN beds tonite! This should be much easier on you too!!! Enjoy your son *mamabear whispers to GW.... has he p'd in your face yet?? Boys do that you know*
Mom -- I know --- but you never told me about that incident so I HAD to comment ;D
Just blind, black anger!
No other way to swing that weight!
Mama -- I have only had to change one diaper on him so far and he behaved -- I have been busy reclaiming the living room from laundry
GW - MSN!
Just assumed you were there. Not too many people know about it. First time mentioned in public.
Just make sure you keep a diaper or washcloth over him and no sweat. You did get your dad once.
Hootowl: If you have kept this episode deep in side you all these you, do you feel relieved? If so, you can free yourself.
