Good evening/morning everyone : mmmn -- dessert day -- sticky toffee pudding!
halo Ren and helen...I see you're still at it-you're a wonder!
I TOLD my BF everyone would show up for the flip! :D
Welcome back GW!
121 seems manageable
Hey kristi! Just waiting for Seb to wake up and want his bottle :)
GW-I assume he's on the mend now? Have you all rested up finally?
Hey, ren, who's your crush? Hi, GW and all...

hi chic!
john garfield
kristi -- he seems to be fully recovered which means that we get even less rest now, since he is eating properly now :D
Have you looked at the board, GW? 142 doesn't seem possible!
chic - is that rock?
Good night, everybody...or early morning:)
GW-Gotcha-still good to hear.
smith-hello, who do you have there on your icon?
oops -- just realized I was rushing dessert day! --- excuse me while I change!
It's morning...severely so... : / Morning : )
Whole lot of promise but not much production here. Think this one is going to be a pain!
hey anj!!!
hi kristinc! No ren, that's little Joe (Michael Landon)
Another plus is that he is almost 10 pounds now and kinda sorta sleeping longer --- he has had some intervals that are almost 3 hours long the past few nights
That's better -- I really can't afford dessert two days in a row.
Hi Ren : )
oh chic! that was my 2nd guess!!
cyber-dessert is fine anytime! GW-good news then!
It's Jon Erik Hexum. My first real celebrity crush. Alas, he shot himself in the head with a blank on the set of his tv series and died.
smith-a cutie!
hootowl -- you've got that right -- only got 19 on my first run through!
Yep, he was definitely a hunk!
hi all - how many?
T-Owl! 121 : )
e6/36 p6/24
And that E is in the wrong place!
HI, TO!
Hey Anj -- how's things?
Hi GW : ) A little bit surreal at the moment. I don't usually do 6ams : /
I understand that, Anj -- how about on the job front? any improvements?
good evening
Plenty of applications - no interest yet but that's par for the course. I need to spam some recruitment agencies : )
I'll keep sending positive energy your way :)
Hello doxy...
hey Doxy!
Cheers GW : ) How are you doing? How's Seb?
BTW -- HI to everyone (*Hugs*) I don't have the energy these days to remember to greet you all individually -- so if I seem to ignore you, I'm not --- I'm just tired :)
hi doxie - hi t-owl...sorry trying to watch peter gunn and babble.....8)
very understandable GW.
n6/21
Seb seems to have made a full recovery -- I am currently waiting for him to decide to wake up and want a bottle
...gets my vote... lol! : )
morning all :) Anj, is that you up with the dawn ? *peers blearily through half awake eyelids*
hi all! how's this one look?
As for myself, the new job is working out pretty well -- I still don't have a handle on whether they will take me on permanently yet... :\ But I am doing my best and enjoying the fact that they are sympathetic to my home concerns, at least for right now
Hello chessy and mamabear...
hey smithchick!
yay! Chessy : ) *peers bleerily back* h4/6, h4/7, 2 x h5/16 : )
mama.....mama....is that really you?????

GW - sounds good : )
Mamabear? : )

Anj?????????
then mama...therefore it is!!!!!!!!!!
mama, ah...hopefully you can sleep in tomorrow morning like me! (still 3/3 for me)
Morning : )
can't be "morning" .... I didn't sleep yet.
Me neither, and that might be an issue in a bit : / lol
surprised to see you here, GW!!!!!! *mamabear taps GW on the shoulder, as he awakens*
umm.... what is this sleep you keep talking about? I seem to remember hearing about it once a long time ago, but it is shrouded in the mists of myth and legend :D
Anj, with this grid, that would be a problem for me right now! :)
It's not very user friendly is it Kristin?
Hey, Mama -- Seb keeps making wakey noises with out following through --- I needed to do something to distract myself :)
no, I'm usually half way before I turn in but not sure I'll make it to that...oh well, I like the challenge
hey gang!
Hi Temple!!!!!
Turn your back and run, Temple -- fast as you can!
*wakey noises*..... tee hee..... so cute
(((mama)))
I just decided there are no other words in this grid except for dand.... which is in there about 68 times!!
hi c-nan!!!!!!! What's up sweetie?
oooooo I see we have to be careful how we speak of the gr 4/7 today!
the words that have x in them are fun!
mama--good catch-I didn't have it, so thanks!
no nasties in the Ns...
or is that the sleep dep talking?
i like that surfer dude in the h's
too bad Torgone isn't here.... he would like that lower right hand corner word!!!!!
my foot fell asleep and i had to drag my leg across the room to get my cup of tea, now i've lurched back here, i'm not sure why...
LOL, helen!
I'm about to resort to propping my eyelids open with toothpicks!
Because you want to be fit in with us cool kids, helen ;D
i have a friend who does e6/36 d5/14 named p5/14... for real!!
lol
ouch ouch smithchick ...
Hi Mamabear -- nothing new here! -- struggling with this one though.
smithchick -- I have found that q-tips work better
LOL, good tip, GW!
Can't believe there are 7 g's!
you can moisten the swabs to maintain proper moisture levels on the cornea for longer ;D
io6/24
THERE'S A BEAR IN HERE.... THERE'S A BEAR IN HERE.... I'M SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!
I can't believe none of you babble wizards have come up a 7 or an 8 yet. Anyone found a word ending in the 'oid'?
Morning gang.
hey, mab
chic -- it happens every now and then.... we need sprite to show up and lead the way :)
good night, see you all tomorrow. everyone babble on and babble well.
good morning mab!
Hi mab and une...
nite doxy
so long doxy -- sleep well and dream deep (*hug*)
Nite, doxy.
We need iceboy or debs for the long words.
oh my.... what's the theme?
first crushes
Where's iceboy when ya need him? Hey, GW did you see that Smeltzdog was on earlier today?
First celebrity crushes or something.
night, doxy
e 7/52
I might keep posting just so I can look at mine:)
sa8
Yay! c-nan!
chic -- thanks, yes I did, ren told me earlier
e 8/70 (plural of the 7)
s8/50
cybernan - I tired the Eight 1 - got to level 36 - is that good?
how many points, dianne?
10,000 something.
Hey, Dianne -- you're on the board today!
That does it! I had 50 words and decided to try some fill ins. Got the yo by monkey-typing. That word is rediculous! Going to bed! Night all. See ya tomorrow.
I didn,t even notice that - that must mean this will be a tough grid for me !
Eight1 gets a little easier each time you play. I've been up to level 48, but only once!
G'nite, hootowl:)
Good night hootowl :)
1497 pts bye
G'nite Mom! Chat at you soon :) (*Hug*)
Good night Hoot!
19,694 is my highest Eight1 score so far . . .

i think every ix- word I know is in pig latin!
Cogito ergo oink?
lol Anj ...
Wow -- Seb is finally waking up -- he has been asleep for almost 4 hours!! -- there is hope for me yet! ;D Of course, now he will be up every hour or so for the rest of the night -- watch!
I applaud and bow to the King of the ix-iverse.... or something like that.
he's on his way to pulling an all niter (sleep wise), GW!!!
mab - yiddish trouble is in the gr 4
anj: i think you are making those words up...
And here I got SO excited when I found "exorsist"..... YES I KNOW I SPELLED IT WRONG!!!!!
I think Temple is right...
is that a slight lisp mama?
I haven't found that yet, ren. It wouldn't take 'yads'
yes, ren *mamabear wipes her chin as drool trickles down the side*
I wish I was...io5, io6, ix6 and ix7... not exactly a morning grid this... : /
Ooops. But it does take the way I spell that word.
keep trying, mab...i found an ix in pig latin but babble will not take it...
'nite, folks. I'm hittin' the sheets..
ts mab ts
ok little joe - see you later
nite, chic...i won't be far behind
NIght, chic...
wow. and it took it.

Hi everyone, Mr P's other half here. Anyone want a clue list like Babblers Anon?
mayan history is fascinating
g'nite helen (*hug*)
It is. I was just kidding about the language.

hi lickety!!!!!
Hello, mrpresidents other half:)

Hey Muma Bear - you impress me that you remember ;-)
hi sherb!!!!!
Hey sherb!
morning sherb :)
Morning Sherb, Mr P's OH : )
I impress myself that I remember, too! Especially at this late hour!
mab - you;re right though - it does make you think mayan....maybe it's the tutul-xiu, itza families

nite, smith
hi all :D ...went looking for words and forgot to press Post Message... it's busy for a Saturday morning...
night smithchick :D
g'nite, sc (*hug*)
i'm watching dr who now!!!!
nite smith
ao8/45 : )
Annihilate, annihilate...!!
why are you watching him if you don't know who he is, ren????? LOL
LOL, mamabear! If you google him, you can then ogle him! Jon Erik Hexum. In case you missed my earlier post, he had just started to get popular in a series back in the early 80's and then he shot and killed himself on the set of his show with a blank. Horrible...
you know mama...i don't know...because he's in the dvd???
Alright, I'm really going now. Thanks for the hug, GW. Here's one back at ya... {{{{GW}}}}
ren - who's your crush?
thanks anj!!!
thanks anj
it was john garfield...but i'm so fickled - i changed to tom baker
never mind
Not to be insensitive, but why would one be killed by a 'blank?' Isn't the point of blanks that they go boom without injury?
sherb is your's peter o'toole?
Mab, not up close. That can be lethal : /
I won't refresh then... Pertwee was my favourite Dr Who... never liked Baker... :D
ok - i'll go back to garfield....8)
that's awful, smithchick......
it is O'Toole, when he was young and beautiful...
mab -- a blank is effectively a loaded cartridge woth no bullet involved -- however when it is fired the explosion compresses the air in the barrel of the gun sufficiently that if held close enough to something it can cause damage -- lethal as more than one person has found out in acts of foolish bravado
Well, this should be widely understood, then. Or is it already? I guess I know now.
I did not know that either, mab.
at the time, 'What's New Pussycat' was my favourite film... of course, my taste has improved since then... not... :D
Well let this be Babble's very own Public Service Message.
ok sherb - i danced around for a bit but a new john is back. he looks like yoni natenyahu don;t ya think mab?
mab -- it is something that most people don't believe when they first hear about it -- I have known for years because I remember hearing about another actor pulling a similar stunt years ago (maybe it was this one? it has been so long I don't know) he was showing off, put the barrel to his head and pulled the trigger
I have had it..... good nite everyone..... see yas all later!!!!! ((((((HUGS TO ALL)))))))))))))))
I take it we are on leading men..... for icons ??
Of course, more people will be aware of the danger of blanks as a murder involving a gun firing blanks was just featured on CSI this week :)
Blaze - the theme is 'My First Crush' - TV/Film Star
morning all ...*s*
used to watch Voyagers with my kids... me for Hexum .. they liked Meeno
((**MAMA**)) -- dream a dream for me, mama!
Bibi is handsomer -- too conservative, but handsosme.
night Mama :D
nite mama
hi rolin :D
i love bibi.....mucho grande!!!!
night, mama!
my crush..... could not decide which one... LOL
night mama and everyone else who's recently gone without my noticing (sorry)
yeah, I had to go back a long way to remember, lol...
Waaa! I still don't have any 7's or 8's! -- guess I will have to seek clues later as Seb is asleep and I should join him since I have to get up with Kristianna in the AM G'nite to all!! (*Hugs to all*)
nite GW ((hugs)) :D
nite GW, sleeeeeeep well :)
nite, woulfie! BTW are you still at plymouth?
nite wolfie!!!
nite GW (( )) *manly version* : )
good nite.... hello to all the family...how is mama doing ??
Night G.
Temple -- I should be there tomorrow evening -- I only do weekends there now, usually Sat afternoon closing shift :)
mab - my little balck kitty is wrapped around my neck and is snoring....
Blaze -- mommy should start doing much better now that they have changed her blood pressure meds
that is good to hear... take care...
g'nite again for real and true!
Aww, so sweet. Don't know what mine's up to -- she's a divil, that Sophie.
and i too must go...happy babbling everyone! leave me some good clues for the morning!
night Temple :D
my cat gets under the persian rugs and crawls - kind of reminds me of dune..... nite t-owl
Sometimes Sophie is curled up and appears to be sound asleep, but I will catch her looking at me through one green slit of an eye. It's cute, rather than unnerving.
Night Temple. Malka is my under covers cat.
...er, finished : / Now what am I going to do : ?
gosh anj...you could cook us all breakfast.....8)
... read the paper that's just arrived? go for brisk walk in frost? make another coffee? go to bed?
If I can get to the kitchen : / My left leg is in bl**dy agony : (
yeah, a fry up would be great, Anj... :D
sorry about your leg - what happened? btw, could use a clue for the second na5/12 :)
no worries, have just found it ....
anj - did you crash and burn on your leg?
I don't know. I went to bed at 12am...and woke up at 2am in agony. It's like a cramp on the left thigh... : ' (
if you stood up to get rid of the cramp, maybe you pulled a muscle Anj?
oh...so sorry...is it like the muscle cramps when the body is low in minerals and calcium? or more like the football injuries?
Maybe Sherb : ? It's definately a muscle thing...I can walk on it, just, but if I catch it wrong... } ' (
Ouch, anj. Maybe a hot bath would help. You weren't by chance brushing your teeth in a cold room at the time of the injury, were you?
Morning dear gang :)
morning sprite :D
Morning Sprite.
Ren, sounds like the calcium thing : / LOL! Mab...no, I was in bed but I might consult Dr Babbler when she appears : )
hi sprite!!!
Hi Sprite : )
How are you all doing? :)
O dear, another day that I cannot ask how the G4 is!
no scary movies tonight sprite.....
...I think i've been mugged by my duvet : /
Renfield, I have really been thinking about you that night, lol. Some movies can do that to you, and you sounded really uncomfortable.
lol anj...those duvets like to twist themselves around the legs
I don't know if you use the term 'charlie horse' for a muscle that seizes up. Those are very painful, but often go away if you carefully put pressure on it, ie by standing and sort of getting it to relax.
sprite...yes i really was scared! i have a horrible fear of the dark and force myself to walk at night (gulp) -
Mab, that seems to be working : )
(((renfield))) Hope you could feel the good thoughts supporting you through the ghastly experience ;) Hey guys, one of my most frequent Babblewords is in this grid... doh!
I'm going to try and zzzz for a bit. BBL folks : )
later anj thanks sprite!!!
Night Anj!
Feel better, Anj.
rest well Anj :D
This G4 is a lot tighter than it looks at first sight!
It is, Sprite. I believe I will leave it alone for awhile. Maybe it will untangle itself a bit in the meantime. Later gang.
later mab
Bye mab :)
later mab :D
time to get dressed... later all :D
Bye sherb :)
Good morning all. Renfield, are you still here?
Morning all. Thank goodness for another short puzzle. I dont have much time today, and going out to Dinner/dance tonight
Mornin' all. Difficult grid, this. Need a clue to ex6/30.
Hydra, ex**** dancers
Thanks, Boysaway! Just didn't see it. Love your icon.
hi all!!!!!!!!!
Hi Bex. It's a cold and frosty morning and our boiler has broken!
hydra are you in the uk?
Yes Bex. West London, near Heathrow. It's 42F where I'm typing and I'm wearing 2 fleeces and 2 pairs of trousers!
im in newcastle and it is minus 6 outside!!!!
Hi I am in hastings on the south coast and its freezing here but very sunny.
You could say that you're working in an icepad, hydra!
My partner has just spend £300 on a new fan and bits for the boiler. Cheaper than a new one, though. Minus 6. Brrr! My sis is in Cumbria and they've got thick snow.
Icepad is right.A hot cup of tea helps tho.
we have about 2 inches of snow aswell!!!
We have seen the odd flake but nothing has settled. It's bright sunshine. Still, I'm off to Spain next week!!!
That killed the conversation, didn't it?
i only have 5 words!!!
I've got 72 but I started an hour ago. Stuck on na5/12
The second na5/12.
i havent got it but will have a look
Thanks, Bex777. I've got as far as the p's, if you need any clues.
i dont go in order i just pick and choose which letters to do
I've got a few r's etc, but haven't keyed them in yet. It must be because Virgo is my rising sign so it all has to be in order!
my sign is libra but dont no wat it means
Urgh there are 7 and 8 letter words in this? Anyone else wanting to type fixes and excite?
Are you fairminded and easygoing, Bex777? Do you like to be warm rather than cold? Do you like the good things in life? Are you sensitive and easily hurt, but forgiving too? And do you like getting together with friends? They are all Libran traits.
I keep wanting to type exodus, Tigereye!
hot is much better than cold
Dr God was feeling sa 8/50 when he set this grid.
i have 10 words now!!!!
I'm on 65
Well done! I'm taking a break now. Must do some work.
how many is there?
121 today
121, Bex. Haven't gone yet. Just a few more words!
Where do you live, Tigereye? Is it cold?
England, a bit north of London. Yeah its cold. Looks fairly nice outside though. Bkue sky adn sunshine...
I'm near Heathrow, Tigereye, but moving to Finchley soon.
i have 20 now!!!! getting there!!!
I must confess to having cheated and looked in a2z wordfinder a coupla times. I've got all but one now. Stuck on the second na5/12. I'll come back to it later. Bye, all!
Well done Bex Bye Hydra :)
bye hydra
any one help with the oa?
Sorry I don't have it yet
A place in the desert to find water
thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're welcome.
hi everyone! I am half babbling, half drawing something for a competition that ends in about 2 hours!
Good morning, Atalante. Best wishes for your competition entry.
hi atlante
if I ever get the stupid thing finished!
Hey Atalante
Yes, good luck Atalante :)
Anyone have the second Na5/12?
not me
ts anyone?
ts 6 - add two letters for alternative, then verb form of 'to be'
TIgereye - the second na 5 sounds like Mrs Reagan's name but with a vowel ending
thanks!!! never would have got that!!
Thanks Haz :)
You're welcome. a2z and morewords have come up trumps again...
I've finished so had better do something about getting showered, dressed and the shopping done. Happy hunting everyone, and do keep warm!
well done haz!!! bye!!!
pic mostly done ... back to babble for a bit as the main layer gets fixed and scanned (in case I mess it up in the last bit!)
this chat log is very quiet today!
too busy fuming about why oxic isnt allowed :P
i have the ox if u need help
so do I :)
well im going now but will be back on later bye all!!!
Now showered and dressed and patiently waiting for daughter to catch up so we can go shopping.
Good morning everyone. What's todays theme?
hmmmm....seems to be the quiet time of day
Eva - Today's theme is "Your First Crush" (TV/ Film Stars)..... Oh, and by the way, hello everyone!!!!!!!
Hello Movieman it's very quiet on here at the moment
Anyone care to clue me up with the 7's & 8's........ Gracias.......
Hi Movieman Only got 1 so far. find the sa6/21 and extend to make sa8/50. Clue - someone who likes to inflict pain.
movieman sa8/60 extend your sa6/21
movieman ao8/45 extend your ao6/18
Thanx FMitch....... Should have really got that myself, seeing as they are words that perfectly describe my mate punster.......LOL
LOL, yea, saw your banter in yesterday's grid. Who's yr icon, too small to see properly?
movieman ex7/52 and ex8/70 some might say that those who are sa8/50 are these
ooo Frances, thanks for that post, off I go a'hunting.
Wheeee! Changed icon to Tom Cruise and Top Gun!
FMitch You're welcome
Hi Atalante, did you finish yr picture in time?
has anyone got the clue for the second na5/12 pls?
sorry haven't got that far yet rolin, still deliberating frances's clue on the ex7&8 combo.
rolin na5/12 offensive slang also sounds like a girls name change the last letter
Ha, found them :)
mitch if someone gets someone else all worked up..in a have anticipated way...well thats the 7..and the pl is 8
thanks frances
just!!! well, it was meant to be done by 1pm - and I'm just scanning it - so ... nearly enough :)
rolin You're welcome
Has everyone gone again? Any clues for the od5/12 ... ?

oooh 3 to go ..and i cant seem to find them
od5 what Keats was
une...can you give me a clue for the last pa5/12 pls
it's a french word--for instance, it's used as an adjective in "pa*** velvet"
thx une...i just forget to bend backwards....
ok..help me out with the last 2 then...pls the ro5/12 and the last ro4/4
s'ok....my partner just saw it...first time he looked..i hate that...lol
can't find ex7 pr ex8 even with clues in the log
Peri, try the third consonant after the ex
ex-wren, thanks, found them, was going in a totally different direction:)
OK peri, I had the same problem for a while
That's my last one, stuggled with the gr's for a while.
Although this is only a small puzzle, it hasn't been the easiest.
Ex-Wren, are you done? I am finding this one difficult too, also strugging with the gr's along with several others
peri, two of the gr's you can get by putting 'g' in front of ri4/4 and ri5/10
thanks, Ex-Wren, am monkeny typing and finding some of the gr's
done! Off to enjoy the day with my daughter who drove in last nite!
don't have the ri5/10 yet
just going for a cup of tea, may be back later to see how you are getting on, yes I have finished - ticked all the boxes!
Congrats Une!!!
Congrats Ex-Wren!!!
Plural ri4/10
thanks, ex-wren, found it right before your clue
Howdy, all! there's an ri 4 10?
Deutsch - it's ri4/4 followed by ri5/10
Good afternoon all.
thanks Haz. I get easily confused with these numbers.
Hello Macadam - just checking in to see what's happening.
Hi Macadam
There are a few strange words today.
You're right there!
Hi Haz and Deutsch.
Strange, indeed. Yesterday was a strange word day also.
The first 100 were reasonable then I hit the wall.(rubs bruises recalling incident)
How's the wall?
*Hands macadam some cloth covered ice* The first 100? I'm only at 53.
Dented due to frequent meetings with my head on bad babble dats :0)
Your too kind Deutsch. Can I help?
Haz, you're not going to believe this, but I've been thinking of you. I've just discovered my cat loves strawberries. do you think licking a strawberry could be dangerous for her?
I've never heard of it causing any problems.
I got the sr typing another word .Incorrectly (like several other words today)
thanks, macadam. I don't even have enough to understand clues, yet. didn't even have the ri4 4. ( I do now, though, and thanks)
Thanks, Haz. *muses at how we've become friends over the miles*
I've just googled strawberry poisoning in cats and strawberries are non poisonous to cats. So the cat can have the cream AND the strawberries.
Haz, She'll be happy to hear that. Like she's not spoiled enough allready!
She's not spoiled - she's just well loved!
Haz, LOL Yes
Good luck folks.Coffee break for me.Bye for now.
later, macadam. Enjoy
Bye Macadam - I should go and put some shopping away as well. It sounds as though you're not ready for clues yet, Deutsch.
hi everybody any clues for the ro 5/10 please
ro5/10 - decay followed by form of verb 'to be'
Thanks Haz got it now
You're welcome.
Haz, I didn't think I was with only 54 now. But I got the ro. thanks.
If you take off the last letter you get an ro4.
Thanks, again. I figured that out right after I posted the first time. Not too swift this morning, am I! LOL
BRB, now the dog wants breakfast. Maybe he'll eat strawberries, too!
I can't imagine me being prepared to share strawberries with my dog, much as I love her!
You're right, Haz. He won't get my berries. But he loves to cook with me. He has a fondness for mushrooms and, well, anything I drop on the floor.
morning all!
Hi Hurshy
hi deutsch
Hurshy, who's your icon?
jonathan brandis. he was in... um... ladybugs... neverending story II, the tv show seaQuest... but actually i think he killed himself a year or two ago :( however i did have a mondo crush on him when i was younger.
hi hurshy
I remember him. Is today's theme teen idol day?
any clue for the 2nd na 5/12 please
yes, it is, deutsch. and hi rosalind.
na5/12 - Mrs Reagan's name ending with a vowel.
i just started so i haven't really got any clues yet...
what do you know, i did have that word
Hi rosalind. Okay, then I'm bobby sherman. I'll look for an icon. back in a bit
Thanks again Haz
ugh, the "almost" words. fiction, distort...
not to mention candy, friday, and fanny
candid, nectar, antic, pence
AND FACTOID
finally, someone joins me! thanks, giantrobot.
no problem
i cannot find one of the 7 and 8 letter words..and only 3 of the 6 letter words...am getting cranky..lol..(morning all)
i found a 7/8 combo! and have not yet turned to the list.
how much of a hint do you want, lianakate? first letter? first two? definition?
lol, definition and first two letters..(am thinking there is a big ex word I have never heard of..or cant see...(wow, am pushy this AM) sorry..(chuckling)
you're right! that's what i have. an ex7 meaning one who makes happy, and its plural
still 46 words to go..but , I usuallly never come back and finish a puzzle..sigh. I get involved in other stuff!!!
happy isn't the right word...but i can't think of a synonym... um...
DONE...anyone need a clue before I go???
o'chita, lol, you say that the exact same way every day. do you copy and paste it from somewhere? :)
nope...just habit
has anyone got a clue for ix 7/56
lol, it is funny. and woohoo! just greyed the R.
there's an IX?
hmm... i could see ix 5 - ixnay.
but then that's pig latin.
Hursh..thanks for the help..i finally added adiffernt consonant..and monkey typed it...ty, again.
well, glad you got it somehow :)
that's one, one grey N box, bwa ha ha ha ha
ix7/56 is the plural of ix6/39
so there really are ix's!
lol, yes hurshy, two of them ;)
i don't have ix 6/39
mac, is that a reg. plural or a latin?
Hursh..LOL, i tried ixnay..just in case ..when I first started the puzzle..ya never knoiw!!
ix + round vowel + past tense of does
regular plural, hurshy
nvm, got 'em!
i figured if i could find the right points leading me up to the S, i would have it, and i was right!
i don't have the other two I's yet either - are they similarly crazy or might i have heard of them?
way to go, hurshy! :)
knowing you hurshy, you've probably heard of them ;)
hmm... ok... shucks, thought i had android for a minute there
CRUSH DAY!!!!!!
who's yours?
the other i's are similar to the ix's without the X
in that case, i did NOT know them.
let's see, i need one more O in the top row... i have the one in the desert...
the person who does poems
thanks, o'chita. i also only need one more on the H next to it. i have a 4/5 combo and a 4 that is a plural coal h___, what is the fourth?
do you have the H that is the team in NC? I think it means rock..not sure
hurshy...just add a father
excellent. now, perhaps you'd like to help on the fourth row N. i have the tide one, and the grandmother ones. what's the other?
do you have the back of the neck
yes and oh how stupid i am, i just found it, what an easy word!
it was ne 4/9 *blush*
for p words, i have 3 4's, 4 5's, and a 6. what am i missing?
hurshy...you are missing a five
ok, my fives are two pa's and two pe's, where will the last fall?
3 pa's
do you have the sound alike?..ball Pe hammer?
maybe just add a Y to one of the bears..lol
hmm this is a stumper. i have the "bear" and the one where you change the last letter to the sometimes vowel. can't figure the other.
did you pluralize?
take the pe5/12 and switch the voewls around
third one is a velvet finish...double up on the middle consonant of the window part
yes, o'chita says it's a 3rd 5 that i'm missing anyway
er, vowels, that is
ok, fish please, how could i not have tried that... i monkeyed everything else!
if i'm bothering, please say so and i will go get the list. but it's fun this way if you guys don't mind.
not a bit of bother, hurshy
no problem hurshy...i will let you know when you become a PITA...lol
lunch time for me...Hey, helping doesnt bother me one whit...i just am lousy at giving clues..GOOD LUCK, and BBL
let's work on F's then. :) i have two 4/7's and a 4/8.
a PITA to o'chita, will you stuff me with luncheon meats and have me for a snack?
as a snack...lol...f6...add onto the hand word
fi4/12 To repair or mend + consonant
one fi word needs to consonants..meaning to have repaired..just not spelled the usual way
alrighty, you guys make this so easy. :)
I meant 2, not to..geez..I do need my lunch, sugar is out of whack..ack..(oh joy, rhymes)
hurshy...need anything else before I go have lunch?
everything else is too hard to pin down - i need 4 more D's, for instance - think i'm just going to have to get the list... thanks for your help, though. i only have 19 left.
good luck...I will come back later to help if you need it
this one's fun today! I assume the list is up?
don't worry, i'll be done in 10 mins with the list :)
gotta go... happy babbling everyone! :)
*small voice* or not. there don't seem that many ways to put a do5 and 6 between those do4's, and i seem to have exhaused the possibilities... obviously i haven't...
ah, got them at last.
Good morning, all --- can't babble for too long now; my beloved and I are off on a short road trip in less than an hour and my hair is still wet from the shower. But had to stop in and admire the hotties of our youth!
oh, oh, i may faint. captain kirk...
YES hurshy, to GO where NO ONE has gone BE...FORE! :D
Does anyone recognize my pic?
it's funny, though i became a star trek fan at the tender age of 7, i never exactly had a crush on capt kirk.
Harpjane - The man from Uncle? Hi everyone :)
oooh, harpjane, david mccallum, now in NCIS!
Ding ding ding ding! faerie and ch1212 got it! I didn't know he was in NCIS. Will check that out. Anything to make my husband jealous....
harpjane, he's much older now of course, but still cute, and plays a charming mortician on the show.
ok, so 15 mins, not 10. but i'm done.
Yeah hurshy!! Double yeah!!
oh, gosh, it's almost 20. i only looked at the time of the last post.
Yeah Hurshy - *~*~*~*~*~*boom**~*~*~*~*~*~*~ * Good going lady :)
Oh, morticians turn me on.....
thank you, thank you. i need longer ones for the next 3 weeks though. spring break. :)
*oh I guess Hurshy isn't done yet? *tee hee* but enjoy the fireworks anyway.
no, i am done, really. what's the confusion?
Guess how my first crush is? And still is.....
Me not reading the log Hurshy.....Congratulations.
that's um... what's his name... clint eastwood?
Hurshy is right. Isn't he adorable?
i guess i prefer boyish charm to ruggedness
That's what makes the world go around or we would all be fighting for the same guy. lol
Hello everyone, Harpjane, McCallum plays a med examiner on Ncis. His name id Donald Mallard but they call him "Ducky". lol....
I loved Clint in the movie "The Unforgiven" that was very intense.
Chic-so you like the cowboys also I see.
hi chic... Little JOe was a favorite of mine too, even after he grew up to be Laura's dad :)
aweeeee Little Joe I miss him ;
'refresh' Does anyone remember this guy?
the man from Uncle? No, can't put a name with the face.
He played "the Rebel".
Hi, everyone!!!!!! Movieman's back...... Re: my last 7 & 8........ I have the ex7 & 8, and the sa8...... What are the other 7 & 8....... Gracias......
Chic-come on and give it up. Your driving me crazy now because I can't figure it out.
he looks like charlie sheen
obviously he's not
Hi Movieman-haven't got that far yet. Sorry.
Nick Adams. I was gaga for him in my early teens....
Chic - is it Nick Adams......
Chic - I got that by looking him up in the Internet Movie Database.......
Good morning everybody...
Morning Smithy......
I had to look back in the memory banks (which are somewhat depleted) ;-)
Hey movieman, how goes it?
I just popped in to say hello. I'm off now going shopping and doing lunch with the girls today. Should be loads of chocolate , um I mean fun.....later Babblers have fun I'll be back later on this afternoon.
Has anyone else noticed that the smaller grids tend to have the more obscure words in them, or is it just me.......
Hi and bye, faerie!! {{{X}}}
very true, movieman!
Nope, it's just you, movieman. I use all of these words on an hourly basis!
Hi and Bye Smith (((X))) what a cutie.....yummm
As the Italians would say, Faerie, Ciao & Ciao........
bye, faerie, OK, here's my other 'first crush'. I'm a true Pisces; I had a rich fantasy life as a kid...
refresh
movieman, did you get the ix 6 & 7?
Chic- no, I didn't, but I'll look for them now.....
There's also an ao8
Thanx Smithy & Chic....... More bloody obscure ones......moan, moan, whinge.......
Chic - are you gonna give us any more clues as to the identity of your other crush.......
No problem, movie...
He's Steve McQueen in his first tv role "Wanted Dead or Alive" when 1/2 hour tv shows reigned supreme. Is that Jane Russel you have there, Movieman?
Hi all just popped in to show my daughter how the game works.......
No, but I could give you some clues as to her identity..... She's a former soap star, she's been in relationships with the likes of Jason Donovan & Michael Hutchence & sh's currently in a relationship with a French movie star......
this one is hard
Hi Caitlyn and daughter!
and hi sunpot!
Does anyone have a clue for the ts6?
Didn't know there was one, Smithy......
Yes. With 8 words left to find, I had to resort to the list.
ts + either/** + vowel + plural
TY, Leslie!!
yw
ao clues? Pretty please?
Is that an English soap star? Not hip to them... My husband is giving me the "glare". We're supposed to be going shopping. Check you later.....
Leslie- is that one of the New Kids on the Block you have as your icon......
Having to do with the big blood vessel...
Bye chic!
yep, jordan. just to be clear, do *not* see the attraction now... ;)
Having trouble with my icon today
Chic- just before you leave, I'll tell you that she's Australian, and she's currently fighting breast cancer.....
ah that better................
I thought I recognised him, Leslie......
Ooh, ooh. I know, I know, movieman!! Pick me, pick me!!!
Alright, Smithy...... Who is it......
thank you!
Kylie Minogue!!!
Caitlyn - that's Mario Lanza that you've chosen, isn't it......
Congrats, Smithy....... Was it the "Australian" clue that gave it away?
Yes movieman i still drool at him
*dances around* i just can't get you out of my head, boy your love is all i think about...
Actually it was the breast cancer because I can't actually the picture that well.
None of yours live up to my icon.
Is that Paul, exWren?
The one and only
Yep, he's a hottie. Still!
Smithy - I was trying to recognise Wrenny's icon..... It's really obvious now........
It's those eyes!
This is a bloody hard one today......
Anyone care to help me with the h's.....? I have the ho4....... But I can't see the other 3...... Help me, please, before I go insane.......
tell me about it...it doesn't look any better than it did at 3 AM...nor have i found a single word since then...might be list time : )
georgetown (singular and plural)
Help me, I am new, what is list time?
12 hours left
movieman ho5/16 ho and what you call your father
emtiandeca- temple was referring to Brandyjack's word list, which can be found in Babbler's Anonymous.....
movieman: the ho4 you have is the brick carriers?
Temple, that's the one.......
movieman oscar de la ho** and plural
Thanx caitlyn & Smithy......
hi all!!!!!!!!
hi bex
OKay, refresh to see two for the price of one. I still have crushes on both of these guys!
Hey, bex!!
good alternate, smith...emtia...go to the right of the screen clickon babbler anonymous and you will find a list of first and second letters for all of the words...hi bex
ok - if "isms" is a word, why not "itis"
This IS a really difficult one........ I still need 44 words........ That's 3 more g's, 10 more s's, 6 more d's, 3 more r's, 5 more a's, 3 more n's, 2 more i's, 5 more t's, 3 more f's, 1 more e & 3 more p's........
well i only have 29!!!!
yeah but you just started 3 minutes ago bex... you're a machine! ;)
Well, my mama just called so I must go. Still doing her bidding at 38!!! I'm lucky we're close:)
grrrr...i think i need to try again later..happy babbling to you all ...movieman: if you have a specific I'll try to find a clue
no i was on for 3 hours this morning!!!
Leslie, I agree....... 29 words in three minutes....... Even I'm not that prolific......
well that was me last night but trust me it gets harder
That's it, I've had enough!!!!! Time to consult "The List".......
see you later everyone!
ok. I'm crap. I don't recognise anyone's icons!!
bye temple owl!!
Atalante - I recognise yours, though...... Lemme guess, he's a Scientologist, he used to be married to Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman....... Yes' it's Mr. Thomas Cruise Mapother IV......
I hardly ever watch any films - especially black and white ones!
My icon is of an Australian singer of the 80's, 90's and, well, now......
hi everyone, Just 3 words to go, the 2 ix's & the ts? Not a clue!!!!!!!!!!!
ixs - add and x into the io 5/6
ts + either/** + vowel + plural
how very classic of you, atalante
ts - take the 2nd so/4 and add a letter at the front and a letter at the end
so wait, did he and katie holmes break up or not?
if anyone was here earlier during mmy pic angst - this is what resulted - http://www.deviantart.com/devi ation/29885635/
oh, nice choice hurshy. that was my choice #2
thanks guys. Finished!!!!!!!!!!!! I can honestly say I wouldn't have got any of those last 3 without help.
Instead of using Brandyjacks list, I'm using the Enable word list that is to be found in Angelsong's Babble Resorce page....
really? cool. :)
but leslieann, i don't seem to recognize yours, which is odd if we're the same generation... but then, i was a bit sheltered...
hangin' tough...
oh it's a new kid? which one? yeah, i think i was the only kid our age who didn't like them. my little sister did though.
very young wahlberg? *looks closely*
no it's jordan :)
but i think mine committed suicide.
Does anyone recognise my icon, or would they need a clue.....
i think so too, but seriously, seaquest dsv? that should be on reruns somewhere. cute teen + cute dolphin = ratings gold.
movieman - yeah - the face is too hard to make out...
oh yeah *duh*!
how right you are, leslie :)
I'll try to find an icon that shows her face a bit more clearly.....
i'm heading out for a bit... see you guys later...
bye hurshy :)
Hi im back ........just sent my family home!!!!
good one, caitlyn, now we get your undivided attention :)
Its yours for a while!!
Just refreshed my icon...... Does anyone recognise her now.......
i will refrain from breaking out into song again, movieman...
I do ..........do you know my hunk?
No takers??
Mario Lanza
Moring all. That's Mario Lanza.
yes hoot
Good afternoon all. I think you have to be aged to remember him!
Judi - and yours is Bobby "Mack the Knife" Darin.....
hootowl I know my age is showing but i fell for him and opera many moons ago and the love goes on and on
Yes, Movieman. Although, the name on the album cover kind of gives it away!
Movieman - my eyes aren't good enough!
I'm guessing yours is Rita Hayworth, Movie.
Caitlyn I didn't mean you I meant me! Unless you are into opera or old, old movies there is no chance!
Here's a few clues then, hootowl....... She's Australian, she's one of the most successful female solo artists of all time, and she's currently in a relationship with a French movie star.....
I agree hootowl LOL
HI, all!!! di5/14 anyone?
Seems all the good ones are from Australia right now...but rings no bells.
plural of di 4/6, a british singer?
thanks LeslieAnn, had the singular, really like her singing
hootowl - This'll probably give it away then...... She's currently suffering from breast cancer.....get well soon......
She's an Aussie? Didn't know that! Ok - lets see who else catches on.:D
I should be so lucky lucky lucky........
vowels = bad. i know the ao's have to do with the heart, but i still can't get them. any more clues?
i new who it was from the start\!!!!
fi6/30 anyone?
leslie ao plus what is on the end of your arm minus the first letter
Just monkey typed it! Add next 2 letters
yay thanks caitlyn
Thats for the fi 6
hoot said a word!
periwinkle fi6 as above plus first letters of a cold dessert
Bummer - Hadn't gotten that far yet!
hootowl, what next two letters? don't understand your clue
when you type the fi 4 keep going down & right
peri said the word too!
Hard not to.
OMG, didn't even realize I did that and did not have the word yet, sorry
So know we both do!
i know it's like the gr 4/7 that keeps popping up.
im confused
I'm beginning to think it's deliberate. Must be fun watching us try to work around the commonplace! :D
Finally found that stupidhead fi6 word, I kept wanting to go straight across rather than up and then down to the right
oh i have he gr 4/7
Dont worry bex i think everyone is today!!!!!!!!!!!1
the gr has a plural too, bex
hint for the first na5/12 please
pejorative for a flamboyant gay man
i no its a miracle i have a word!!!! i have 33 and have been going 5 and a half hours!!!!!
hootowl, I have that one, I guess I need hints for the other na5/12 then
Or...****y Drew with second vowel ending
Still haven't gotten there. Just started.
i dont have that na but i dont get the clue
Maybe you mean the Na5/12 that's a low point. Plus it has a plural.
Queenruejean, yes that was the one I needed, thanks
You're welcome, Peri.
JUst monkey-typed it!
up to 100 words, time for another break
i never understand these clues!!!
What don't you understand, Bex?
I hate having to rearrange words! Bex you'll get the hang of it. Just takes practice.
Before i go did you all hear my warning yesterday re a computer virus???
No, Caitlyn, what was it?
Nope - What now?
No I didn't caitlyn....... Could you tell me about it, please......
i just understand anyof the clues i think im a bit thick
No, Bex, you're not a bit thick. Some of them can be pretty hard to understand. So we can try different ways to get to them. For example, the Na5/12 which means a low point - we can also say it's an anagram of a word that means to empty away - like in a bathtub.
If you get a message with attached file called Invitation its a virus that opens an Olympic torch which burns the hard cisc c of your computer. If you receive it shut down computer immediatly. This is the worst virus announced by CNN and classified by microsoft as the most destructive virus ever
Thanks, Caitlyn. Hadn't heard that one.
Oh my God, caitlyn, that does sound bad......
What do you do after you've shut it down?
ok i got that na i am good with anagrams!!
All right bix!
Great Bex! When you have trouble with a clue, just say so & we will try to come up with something different for you, okay?
I dont know enough re computers I had this message sent via my brother I will try to find out what to do
ok thanks what can i call you your name is two long!!!???
You can call me Queen, or Rue or Les, whatever you like. :)
about computer virus: Snopes.com says it's a hoax.
Hi all are we into celebs icons today?
Afternoon everyone! I just looked up the virus on the urban legends web site (www.snopes.com) and it is a hoax.
ok i think i might call you queen cause its easy to remeber!!!!
lucky - our first celebrity crush, to be precise
Im going now (rock and roll night ) Have a great time babbling catch you all tomorrow bye
Sounds good, Bex.
Hi Hursy will change my icon right away!
hi jen and lucky bye caitlin
Hurshy, who is yours? He looks familiar.
bye caitlyn - thanks
Hurshy, is that the friend from Boy Meets World?
ok can anyopne help with th ao 8 letters i have the 6?
Thats great jen I didnt know that Its a great relief!!!
i'm still trying to get the clue for the second na5/12.
caitlyn, I tend to get a lot of e-mails from my MIL that I have to check out for her! :) I have the site bookmarked for that reason. LOL
Bex, add the first two letters of something cold that you put in drinks to the end of it.
Can anyone help me with the 2nd na5/12...... Gracias.....
Thanks again Jen
well i got that clue quite quick im getting better!!!
Movieman, do you know Frank Sinatra's daughter? She sang These Boots Are Made For Walking? Use her name, but change the last letter to a vowel.
Movieman the second na5/12 has been causing problems all day. Mrs Reagan's name with a vowel ending.
53 words to go and the ao's are making my heart race tried the end of the arm clue with no luck any other celeb clues?
Haz! Same thought, different names. :)
Thank you, HAZ. That N was driving me nutzo.
Haz1558 and others -- thx for the help on the na5/12...now to move on to the rest of the grid
Thanx Haz, that na wasn't listed in A2Z......no wonder I couldn't get it.....
Glad to help.
Lucky, it's the part of the arm where handcuffs are placed on a miscreant. Hope that helps.
ao - add a 4 letter word that means to lift or raise, but use a t at the end
can anyone help with the 3rd na? i have the name and the anagram of empting the bath
na4 - just type the letters again to get an affectionate name for grandmother
Then pluralise for na5/10
5 letters sorry missed that bit out!!!
doesnt matter found it!!!!!:)
Queen you're fabulous did not know the word but got it my focabulary is growing by the grid!TY
Glad you got it, Lucky.
lucky used a woooord, lucky used a woord... lol hee hee hee!
sorry, stepped away to make lunch no - my icon is not the friend from boy meets world...
it's jonathan brandis. he was in the movie ladybugs, also neverending story II, and the television show seaQuest
Harpjane hi please explane did not know I was doing so???
he also had a guest appearance on full house as a boy who dated DJ
gr 4/7, lucky
Harpjane ah got it thanks to you!
I've finally finished!!!!!! Had to use A2Z & BAnon to find my last 30-odd words, but there you go....... Anyway, I've gotta go, but I'll be back on the morrow...... Seeya!!!!!!
Hi Hurshy yes that was an obvious one sorry folks
That was my second guess Hurshy, I just couldn't remember the name of SeaQuest! Didn't he die about 4 years ago?
Well done, Movieman - Kylie doesn't look very like herself!
Hurshy - did you know he was also in Stephen King's IT (the mini-series)......?
it's ok, lucky. It's my kinky way of giving a clue!
he committed suicide, a little over 2 years ago
no, i didn't know that, as i don't watch scary things. :)
Hows everyone today? 14 word left to go.
He played the younger version of Richard Thomas' Bill Denbrough character (the one with the stutter).....
if my dad babbled, which he wouldn't, not being a word game fan (he doesn't like to read, either!), his icon today would def. be karen carpenter.
although actually he also liked this girl who is now playing teri hatcher's mom on desperate housewives
Harpjane talking about clues do you have the first two da4/6 and da5/14 already?
my husband would put up alyssa milano.
lucky, fathers, and what a beatnik might call a father.
Hurshy, that's Leslie Ann Warren. (my Dad's would def. be Natalie Wood) I don't feel like switching my icon today, so everyone just imagine Emilio Estevez as my icon for the day. :)
Does anyone have the io words?
jen - do i have to imagine the breakfast club emilio or can i go with the slightly more mature mighty ducks emilio?
i knew it was leslie ann warren but i didn't think anyone else would recognize her by name so i didn't bother to mention it. :) guess i was wrong!
io 5/14 and io6/24 - add past tense of do, then pluralise
i would recognize her name!
Harpjane isn't the 2nd da4/6 the fathers one? I have that one and whats a beatnik??????
warai, of course you would!
She was in Clue, one of my all-time fav movies. Breakfast Club Emilio, please. My locker used to be plastered with him. :)
were you named after her? :)
yes, Clue, yes, yes, great movie. darn. i like older emilio.
i agree, clue is a classic. i wasn't named after her in the "oh, she's so great so that's what our daughter's name will be" kind of way but that's where they got the idea.
how funny! i mean that i should happen to bring up my dad and that he liked her and stuff.
Lucky - which da word(s) are you looking for?
it's a real coinkydink.
Hi Haz the first two the da4/6 and the da5/14 the rest I have already (meaning the fathers etc)
da 4/6 is an architectural feature - often used to divide up a room. Use father and a vowel, then plural.
Ty Haz onto the di's
how about a clue for the 2nd da5/14..please.
Take your partner, Tim.
i have one da i dont no i fits the one you need= the name of an old comic
may i have this da 5/14?
thanks, didnt see that one !!!
I know that Babble is the absolute best word game there is, but are there other word games out there. Sometimes I finish a Babble game and have some spare time.
Peri, I like Quiddler, www.setgame.com
have you tried eight1 yet, peri?
http://www.eastoftheweb.com/ga mes/Eight1.html it is pretty fun
never heard of Quiddler or Eight1. Will check them both out, thanks
Haz or anyone can you help with the first two ex's ex7/52 and ex8/70 the rest is done.
ex 7 is one who causes someone to be enthusiastic
need help an5/20
an 5/20 - look for a high scoring letter and put it at the end of a woman's name.
peri other word for to put together
lucky and haz, thanks so much, can't believe I missed that one 8)
any clues for the ex6/36?
thanks i didnt have the an either!!
You're welcome, periwinkle.
can't find the ai4/5
Tim - I gave a clue just a little further down the log.
Tim what you may find in hot far countries
Yes, you can. You just need a little help.
Sorry haz can't follow the ex clue you gave
i need lots of help
Okay, Lucky, try this. Ex, two letters, then to4/4 (hills)
Bex - the ai4/5 means 'helps'. I was trying not to make it too obvious! And it doesn't matter if you need help as long as you are enjoying the game.
leslieann - i get so frustrated that you can't type the words in eight1 - it is too slow to point and click. i always fizzle at 22000 something because i can't get the words in fast enough.
thanks haz!!!! been stuck on that for ages!!!
Glad to help, Bex.
thanks again"!!!!!!!
Haz I think I know what you mean by ex +2 and t4/4 but its not valid with me
That's strange, Lucky. Are you using See Eye as the two letters?
Yes Haz I think I know what you mean
ok anyone help with the ai's? i have the one that means help but cant get the other one. and how many words are there?
The only other way I can think of is ex plus part of large metropolis like London, then word for alternative. That would get the ex 7 , then plural for 8.
Haz a bug in the system!! kept typing the same over and over and finally it validated ... strange
Oh good! I was beginning to wonder if I had got everything horribly wrong!
So now you are done? Congratulations!
Bex, the other ai 4 is often associated with **** and graces.
i have one word left -- can't figure it out -- to5/22 help! pls and ty
No Haz I wish I am only done with the exe's fi 6/30 after many clues is still a mystery to me
Do you have the fi 4 that is used in boxing? Add the same ending as ao8 and sa 8
nevermind -- just got it -- I am done!!!!!!!
To 5/22 is poisonous.
how many words?
121 words
Thanks Haz this is smooth going!
thx haz1558 -- all I did was look away from the grid and turn back --- then the word popped right out.
It's strange, the words are there all the time, but you just can't see them for looking. Glad we're all making progress!
37 words to go will I finish?? ho ho ho?
Keep going for as long as you are enjoying it, Lucky.
Haz do 5/12 the second and following??
do5/12 - is difficult to clue!
Haz thank God I'm not too stupid! try me!
If you have the do 4/5, add a vowel. For the 6 add another letter so that the word starts and finishes witth the same letter.
And done! :)
Thanks Haz that gave me the do 6 but I am still missing the do5 (the second, the first I have)
Congratulations, Jen.
Congrats jen!!! Wish I got that far allready
Lucky, remove the last letter from the 6 and you will have the 5.
Thanks guys! :) Guess I better actually go pack my suitcases and the car for my 13 hour drive home tomorrow. :)
13 hours? In a car?
I suppose you won't have time to babble, then.
13 hours in a car. With a 4 year old. And a dog. And a cat. LOL
Haz 1:59 isnt that the first do 5/12 because I have that one already
Good grief! And you can still laugh about it!
The first do is do5/12 - it works off do4/5 - the Nike slogan one.
And I'm doing it again in April!! Whilst hubby is away, I am hanging out in FL with parents/in-laws (I live in VA) I have 2 books on CD to keep me busy and my son watches movies on the laptop computer. Lucky, do you have the Nike slogan "Just do..".... then make it plural.
No Jen do not know the slogan but I have the first do4/5 and I am trying to add to that ... without luck so far
Well I just played Eight1 for the first time. I love it. I got up to level 18 and my score was 4713. How many levels are there. I would have played longer but my wrist was getting tired. Now I know what I will be playing when I finish a Babble grid or when I want a change of pace. Thanks so much for recommending it.
Lucky - do you know French? The first do 4/5 is 'he must' then plural for the do5
Maybe your bug in the system is still causing problems, Lucky.
peri - it goes on as long as you can go. i crash out at around level 48.
Thank God for my French and thank you Haz no bugs this time around
Good!
Wow, hurshy, level 48!!! That is great!!!
19 words left to find here but need to take another break, bbl
Okay, this time I mean it, I'm really leaving to start packing. Have a great rest of the weekend everyone! :)
yeah but it's annoying because that is around 22 thousand and i need just a few thousand more to crack the top 20. i just started playing this week though.
Jen, safe journey to you all.
jen - be safe hi ya'll
Good afternoon/evening Renfield.
any clues for the ao's??
Bye Jen happy driving!
hey haz...yes afternoon - i just woke up....8)
ao 6 - add most of what joins your hand and your arm.
For the ao 8 add two letters that make the ending twitch.
ao - greek verb tense or between your hand and arm - 1st letter
What time did you get to bed, Renfield?!
Thanks Haz, got em both. : )
haz - i was watching dr who and went to sleep around 3 AM
Tim, you must be pretty close to finishing now.
Was this Dr Who the up to date series?
no - it's the tom baker series
Can I get another clue for the ex6/36? cant seem to find it.
K9!!
The deep velvety voiced Tom Baker.....
Need 3 more
Haz I rearanged all the my do words in the list and now I still cannot find the last on do 4/5 (I have the points above it) can you help out?
ex6/36 - think dancers, foreign countries, unusual foods etc. It ends with a twitch as well.
Tim on a beach in Thailand drinking a caluah under a palm is an ex*** experience
The last two do4/5 s are anagrams of each other. One is to do with spots, the other is old English for you do.
Haz Hurray for you old English is nice to know now for the dy's Will try some monkey typing first
hey atalante - K9 woof woof
Thanks Lucky and Haz...just missing a couple of na's, gotta bring my daughter to work be right back..
hey Ren, do you know that half of the first chapter of "Twelve" is up on Janet's website?
joey!!!! i'll go look!!! how are you?
I'm doing fine. hope you are too. Back from the two cruises and now getting ready to go to baseball spring training. you have to read it fast - great description of LULU
an 4/4? Not the girls name
2 of my co-workers are going to spring training - i would love to go see the yankees
unfortunately my team has already played the Yankees (we won both games) way too early in the season for me to go. I try to spend ST Pat's in Florida.
an4/4 - A collection of various materials that reflect the character of a person or place. (Sounds like several of the girls names.)
an 4 take out one of the double letters from the girls name and add a squiggle
gr 5/14 (the 2nd and the third one) please anyone?
third gr is a g plus a horse
The first gr 5/14 is g plus ri4/4 (unrest) the second gr 5/14 has the same ending as the ao6
Sorry Haz I seem to have them all mixed up again now I need only the last gr 5/14
The last gr 5/14 is g plus ro4/4 - decays
Sorry again Haz I mean the gr 5/14 which is the gr above the gr meaning cave
gr 5/14 - to make a sound of anguish.
Haz finally got them all grrrrr.. ix is the next and the first two na's are you still willing to help out or getting tired??? Have a drink on me!
six to go - a clue plz for ex7/52 and ex8/50

na 5/12 - the lowest point. Plural for the na6
jeffer - ex 7 and 8 - one or those who promote enthusiasm.
haz1558 - that would have been my next request .....
Spooky!

four to go io's and ix 's any clues, please these last six have taken about 3 hours

io 5 - io + to do (past tense) io 6 = io 5 plural
io + past tense of "do" + plural. for just add an x in between i and o for others
ix + 4th vowel + if your done it you *** it. Hope that helps alittles then make it plural.
ix 6= io 6 insert x ix 7 = plural

Shame on me!! That was sa pa is same word with sometime vowel at end instead of first vowel
pa5/18 similar to 5/14, but ends in the sometime vowel

you're welcome, and have a good night.
yes Evan I uderstand that self induced exhaustion. Other than taking too long how did the competion go. Your welcome Yvo :)
i was judging, so the results didnt much matter to me...heh... only had a few issues, mostly caused by the fact that this was the hosting schools first competition + they were in way over their heads...
So they will know better the next time then *tee hee* were there lots of good dancers or did they make it easy for you?
well, its mostly the same group of schools, so you kinda know what youre gonna see...its really just a matter of which combination of schools shows up to a particular competition...heh... but we always judge as if we have never seen them before, and sometimes they surprise us... we did have a few schools today that i dont think we have seen before...
That sounds really cool. So actually you get to see these kids progress from one competition to another that in itself would be interesting. Just to see if anyone you thought was really, really good stuck with it and really put thier heart into it.
yeah, there are usually waves of which schools are the schools to beat...usually a few schools will be on top for a couple years then some other schools will catch the next wave + theyre on top for a while...
I'm stuck in the middle of the these "r" words right now. I started from the beginning and have been trying not to skip around from on letter to another but holly moly this is getting crazy. Words in this grid that I will never see again probably...We are being punished for the past few easy ones...lol
I have 95 words right now. *wondering if I will actually finish this grid* getting tired myself. (yawn)
does anyone have a clue for the ro 5/12 and the 4/4 I have the 4/4 that is a type of pasta.
ro 4/4 - a steet or a dirt ro** ro 5/12 - plural
evening renfield
Fish please! I must be tired to have not seen that, plus I was sure I had tried that word....Thanks :)
y/w hey good evening....
Ren I must say you are looking gooooooood (*^_^*)
Very dashing, ren.
torgone-good evening :)
Greetings, Babbleonians!
brb - get clothes out of dryer......*thump, thump, thump down to the basement*
good evening.
Hi doxy.
'lo all -- could I get a clue for the ix6 please?
Hi everyone! Does anyone have a clue to spare for the da5/14 and the io's? Anyone ancient enough to recognize my icon?
evas, one da5/14 is the word for rumba, foxtrot... the other is the short form of father x 2 and plural.
Thanks ch! Can't believe I missed the cha cha cha!
ix is ix + a circle, plus the past tense for doing
hi eva, don't know. Who is he?
y/w eva and thanks right back!
doxy-you're probably a bit too young for his fame years, but he starred in Loneliness of the Lond Distance Runner and Billy Liar. Tom Courtenay. I had an incredible crush on him for years as a teenager and young adult.
Eva, of course! I saw him in Lonliness of the .. and he was wonderful.
so-about those io's?
So what's the theme for today?
that's funny, torgone --- the theme if first tv/movie crush -- I was wondering who your icon was :D
io6 - io + he d** it (what your kids say when asked who broke the vase) + s
I'm missing one of the last na 4/4's-not the one that sounds like chaos. Does anyone have it?
doxy-don't understand your clue. Can you make it a little more obvious? I'm not firing on all cylinders here....
na - like the na** of your neck....
Doxy- Iiiiiiieeeeeeeiiiieee Davey........................ (*^_^*)
faeri-have that one-it's an na 4/5 I'm missing. Also a st5/10-not the one that sounds like b__ constrictors
similar to substance put in salt and used only by the throid gland.
the other st5 is similar to the constrictor word, add the third vowel to the end.
na + 4th vowel then plural or na + 3rd and 4th vowel
how about sa 6/21 and I assume the 8/50 is plural.
sa5, 8 - someone who derives sexually gratification from inflicting pain.
Thanks doxy and faeri! Now I'm only missing th 2 io's which I'm utterly blind to. I know what chemical you mean, but am going around in circles. Help!!!
io + 4th letter + 4th vowel + 4th letter + curvy letter.
eva -- io + past tense of "does" then make it plural
who *** that? Doxey *** it I bet? Maybe that will help .
Thankyou, thank you doxy and eva for your patience! All done and available for any clues needed.
I *** not, ren *** it.
LOL....
working on pa5/18 and pa5/12, help pls.
Eva Congratulations *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~BOOM*~*~*~*~ *~*~*~*
doxy-who is your guy? Can't tell from the photo-looks a bit like George Harrison. ch-have you seen Boston Legal? William Shatner is in it and is fantastic!
just need the pa5/12.
Yay eva!
Davy Jones from the Monkeys.
The 2 pa5/12's are anagrams of each other. Just switch the vowels.
Eva, yes, we just discovered Boston Legal and love it! Unfortunatly, we decided to give up television for Lent so it will have to wait :(
Ah. Forgot about davey.
He was my dreamboat when I was younger.
It will be in reruns soon.
Davy was every teenage girls ~dream guy~
eva, you know that nasty na4/4 you were hunting that is NOT the one that sounds like chaos? Could I get a clue please and thanks?
doxy-did you get the pa5/12? One of them is a kind of velvet.
got the pa's thanks.
He is still cute. So how about the sa 6/21????? Anyone????? Pretty Please..
ch-it crops up a lot- a greek temple or shrine. n followed by 3 vowels.
Hi doxy1lover and everyone! Davy Jones was my big crush too when I was a young (very young, haha) teenager! My bedroom was wallpapered with posters and pictures of him cut out of teeny bopper magazines!
faeri- Marquis de .....
faerikae, I gave a clue about 8:50
ahhhh, got it. Thx. Swear I tried that. I must leave for a bit -- back later!
hi hazz
What was your favourite song?
Along with Tom Courtenay, Richard Burton, Paul Newman, Cary Grant and Alan Bates could set my hormones going at that age, oh, and James Earl Jones.
liked almost all of their songs, no real fav.
Eva, I think James Earl Jones has still got it. That voice can take me to me knees even now.
I'm a believer and I couldn't leave her if I tried....
here we come...walkin' down the street....we get the funniest looksss from eveyone we meet... Hey, Hey we're the Monkeys
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. That voice-I would follow it anywhere. I saw him I think as King Lear, although it may have been Othello, in Shakespeare in the Park in NY when I was about 16. I've seen Field of Dreams several times mainly because of him. What a fine, fine actor. too bad that the younger generation will only know him as Darth Vader.
people say we monkey around ...
I liked them all too, but my faves were "Little Bit Me, Little Bit You" (Davy's sexy voice, mmmm) and "Daydream Believer"
but we're to busy a singin'
And back to the puzzle, I seem to be doing a lot of *ahem* monkee typing tonight!
LOL
LOL Hazz Thanks for the clue Doxy...got it:)
Anyone remember Peter Finch? He starred in The Girl with the Green Eyes with Rita Tushingham and also in Sunday Bloody Sunday. Great movies! And then there's Peter Coyote-although have to admit I was quite a bit older when I had a crush on him.
Sorry Eva - Don't remember him.
Okay-down girl! Nice to know I can still remember what it felt like though(-: Time to go to bed.
The na's are killing me. I've got the goat (& plural), the effeminate man and the neck -- any hints for the others? Thx
nickname for grandma and plural
nite eva
haz-lowest point and pl, back of neck, derogatory word for effeminate man, greek temple or shrine.
Thanks, Doxy, that was my"goat and plural...
nite doxy. Fun playing with you. Haz- those were all separate clues.
na5,6 - meaning the lowest point, plural
1st na 5/12 meaning - the lowest point / then plural na 4/4 grandparent then well you know what to do 5/10 contempt or hostility diddo 4/4 vowels 4/4 vowel plural 4/5 the back of your neck
I could use the very first sa 4/5 please and you may as well hand the fish with it I'm sure..lol
sa4/5 - the first part of the sa6
Well of course I use that word all the time....
and the si 4/4 please...
si4 - (opening of a letter) Dear Si**
Finished!!!

I don't da5/14 well, but I can nod and snap my fingers in time ...
casual or formal Doxy? (*^_^*) should I put on my pumps or my tennies? LOL
I'd have to find a record player.
Oh, I've still got one of those, too!
definately casual. jeans and denim shirt here.
Hazz-great idea....I'll bring the Osmonds and the Jackson 5 and Bobby Sherman...
Doxy-then I'm ready....lets party....drinks all around.
I still have some Donny and Marie albums.
my sister had a crush on Bobby Sherman.
I also have Donny Osmond albums and the Osmond Brothers....I was a member of the fan club and my bedroom was plastered with Donny. I was in love with him and was planning to marry him. LOL
I am about 2 or 3 weeks older than Donny. I live in the same state he did, and yes I had a major crush on him too (and his purple socks).
Doxy-that is so wild that you say that.. my sister Linda also had a crush on Bobby thats why I remembered him and his music. She has one of his albums. lol
hint for the ads, please?
ad5 - spanish for goodbye
ad4 - take out a letter from ad5.

Do you have the 4/5? If yes then add first vowel for 5 AND d for 6
do 5 is the type of fin a dolphin has but lose the last letter. the do 6 - add a consonant to the 5
do 5 and 6 - start with the name of the fin on top of a shark, minus the consonant on the end, then plural sort of
