utensil, please?
lol knut, I want that one too
didn't stay up all that late really, Deutsch.....anyhow; we usually sleep about 6-7 hours per night, sometimes a little more.....then we often take a nap in the afternoon lately, too :-)
Well my goodness. Sitting here on my you know what, ending the day as artsy as I began it, I suddenly found myself flipped like everyone else into an unlooked for future. Very upsetting, with just three words to go. I agree with knutmeg about being so summarily tessered forward, only when I began to scroll own to where I could begin to tell her so I found myself plummeting like Alice down an endless warren of words. Had to log off and on again to make myself communicado. What a wonderful age we now live in, to be sure. Now it's my turn to turn in, so once more, with feeling, "Goodnight sweethearts".
ufensil??
l5/16 - to pick something up ;-)
aw, Hetty; sorry about your frustration there.....but goodnight to you then.....have a good sleep, and pleasant dreams, i hope? :-)
hetty, what a bummer, goodnight however
good night hetty -- see you tomorrow
okay, no utensil, how about sensei instead??
have an fe 6 and an ma 6 -- anyone know what the third one is?
nan--you're amazing, no 6's for me yet so I can't be of help...sorry. Well done!
Okay, 70 words in 30 minutes is like a record for me. Sadly all little bitties. Okay Mum, calling you now. :-)
good job knut!
cybernan - au6 (mothers sister)
oh -- and the plural for a 7!
I can't believe the pf word!
onomatopoeia appears fairly often, lickety
i6/18 + i7/28
60 found is a nice round number off to bed for me
goodnight nat, take care! (rest well after all that clue-giving)
okay, halfway there for me too so I'm heading off, goodnight all!
I will, it'll be nice to spread out in my bed
hello all! Lickety! how do I open another bloody page on this dumb computer
hey mrp!
hi mrp! I was just about to log off... hope today goes better for you!
Hi Chic! Arrived in Forster safe and sound... the kids are very pleased to see me!
LOL stidmama... I don't have a phone, I don't have yahoo... it can only get better!!
Everyone all intact then?
yep, the storm ran itself down from a catagory 5 to a catagory 1 over night.... so the main towns are in no danger now.... still flooding might be an issue

Harpjane, yes it is. Just got back to messages from finding words.

e 7/28
Just hit the 100 -- time for bed -- goodnight, all :)

Hey MrP - you work out the MAC?
Hey MP.... just worked it out, but not the yahoo bit... where do I go for that to work??
Try here : http://messenger.yahoo.com/mac .php But I think it was loaded. Get f-i-l to start it for you
can onyone help with the f's?
f 5/16 a small dog
other f 5/16 is a faked, deceptive ploy to distract attention
what about the one word from the other f?
other single 'f' is a very thin pastry dough
any hints for the st 5/10's?
there are two st 5/10
just found one of them
st + grain and s + t4/4
okay found the other
done possibly the fastest I have finished yet
is there a site that you all go to for hints?
Have a look at Angelsongs link on the right hand side of this page.
on the right hand side are site of clues..one is labeled Lickety
Woot!! Done!!

pt?
pt + hoop + female sibling
pt+ osm**** minus the osm, of course
thanks.
ty knutmeg...I'm done!
Congratulations, Pinecone!!!
I usually try to see how many words I can get without the hints - then look at the hints as they are posted in the comments, then I look at the lists - but mostly lately for the basic stats -only when I get stuck do I start to look at the specific words and their order to figure out what I might have missed
good night everyone...and happy babbling
I am finished - sings the done song
Done!!! Done!!!! Done!!! I always thought the pf word was ps** instead
Morning dear gang :)
Morning sprite
a7/32 ... finally. That one's been bugging me!!
Good Morning everyone. I'm just now able to connect to babble. For some reason, couldn't get in all afternoon. Hmm. Addict? I kept trying!
Well you made it wassup! Yay!
Addict. No doubt about it. Welcome in the gang :)
Yeah, still getting lots of lag. But, for now I'm here. :)
I'm having a lot of connection problems also. Keep having to refresh.
I was wondering how I would go about saying something to the entire Babbler Community....Does anyone know where to post?
Guess best place is here in the log. BaBaNon isn't visited by all babblers.
Or both here and at babanon .
I'm thinking of the person who posts interesting facts each day.....
Who would that be?
I don't know, but there is supposedly an email you can write to to tell an interesting fact....
I have really no idea.
I think what you are referring to is the facenating fact of the day that goes on licketys list. you need to email him or MrP, their email addresses are on licketys list.
Goodnight, too much lag.
T Y, T y, T Y!!!! That's it!!!!
That will not reach the entire babble community then :)
good morning everyone :)
Hi jean :)
how are maoist and taoist not words?
ive never heard of them :-/
Good morning all.
taoist, a follower of tao, and for maoist, check out the rebels in Nepal. Communists who take their lead from Mao, rather than Stalin, Lenin, or Marx.
hi haz, u ok today?
I'm fine thanks.
morning haz
hello everyone....hope you all ok :)......and I keep wanting 'affluent' !!
We all want 'affluent'!
LOL....LOL....Haz.....you're right !!!
im stuck on the f words
I've only got 3 'f' words jo jo
I'm looking forward to a quieter day than yesterday. Part of it was spent navigating one daughter around all the local primary schools so that she could leave in her CV. The rest of the time seemed to be spent on the phone to my flat-hunting daughter in Edinburgh. First the perfect flat had slipped out of their grasp, then they got it, then the other girls wondered if it was too expensive, then they went to see a grotty flat that persuaded them that the perfect flat WAS perfect and worth the money. All this in the midst of exam preparation!
however, i found a nice little ma6/27
Morning Haz Soulds like a very busy day yesterday, is today going to be more tranquil for you?
oh dear Haz....there's always something with these kids we thought were a good idea at the time...still would'nt be without them !!
Today should be better - I'm involved with a local cancer charity and we are doing a couple of photographs for publicity. One of them is at a local gym (toned bodies) where I'm told the ladies getting their photographs taken have made hair appointments!
for the f's ive got fi4/7 fu4/8 fa5/18 and fa4/8 if that helps anyone
I'll just be the frazzled looking one!
and of course you have too, I don't suppose Haz !!
jo jo....there's an fe5 and 6
No - no hair appointment for me. They'll just have to put up with my own efforts.
does anyone have a aluc for a7/32
are you organising or participating in the shoot Haz?
uncles wife jo jo
jo jo....your Mum's sisters
ty dave
jojo your mums sister
I'm just participating. The local gym for ladies have offered to run a sponsored walk and the photograph is to launch that. The other one is to thank a local firm who have donated a wheelchair to be used in the charity's headquarters. The photographers from the local papers are good at organising how they want things done so we'll just do as we're told.
should be fun then and all for a great cause.
has to beat doing the housework which is now calling me !!!
right off for a while happy babbling everyone :)
It does beat housework! FMItch, how did you get on yesterday?
Very well thanks for asking Haz, spent 4 hrs with the client who was v happy with the work, next meeting is on Wed and there will be lots more work to follow (thank goodness)
Good - so a new printer is definitely going to be needed for all that lovely work!
consumed with couriosity now !!!....how can I do housework wondering what !!!....may I ask please FMitch ?
LOL thats for sure!!
ab 5.14 pls
BRB phone.
ab5/14 - a plus the word for heating something up to a certain point
of course it is - thnx haz
you're welcome.
back, what did you want to know Karys?
Karys may have gone to do the housework but she probably wanted to know what business you are involved in. You can tell me instead!
Good morning one and all. I've just had a quick scan through the chat log, and ready to start, but I have a hair appointment at 11am, (not for a photo shoot Haz), just a trim.
Good morning, ex-Wren. I always like getting my hair done, but am always conscious that it won't look that good again for another six weeks!
It's been seven weeks this time, so I have the 'shaggy dog' look
Oh, that's very fashionable, ex-Wren. Have you not noticed in hair magazines that some of the models look like 'before' rather than 'after' and as though a comb hasn't seen their head for weeds?
Oops didn't realise the time must go. Haz catch up later, have a good photo shoot :)
Weeks!
Thanks FMitch - I should go too to get 'dolled up'.
is the pf word same as sewing machine?
It's pf4/11 - more like a description of a sound - no vowels.
Now I'm gone - will return later.
now how can that pf word possibly be a word? good morning/good day.
good morning cliff. Isn't that pf word something else?
crazy.
cna't quite make out your photo-is it a cat in a pose of utter abandon?
it's my cat Zoey doing yoga:) theme is pretzels, she's trying her best to turn herself into a pretzel.
cliff-was at a planning meeting for our Blackfly Festival yesterday. Sounds like its going to be great this year-if the weather is nice to us. You should come! Saturday, May 27th. Usually we have the Red Cross Blood mobile, but because it's a holiday they can't make it, but we figure people will donate blood anyway, through a generous cross-species gift(-:
what town/city is it in? maybe i can talk my husband into going. i love the red cross bloodmobile idea. i'm a donor on a regular basis :)
missing 1 u. I have: a section + plural uncravat + plural wait un___ your father gets home What am I missing?
"un** us a child is born" or something like that. sounds like a number.
It's in Adamant, which is a tiny village, part of Calais, which is just 10 minutes from Montpelier. I used to give blood regularly, but they had a terrible time with my veins the last 3 times - causing massive hematomas, etc, so I have decided I just have to give in other ways.
Thanks Cliff! Perfect clue.
i meant the ** sounds like a number. not one, not three, the one in between.
okay, how about finding the missing f? I have: fa4/8 fa5/18 fe5/16 fe6/ 27 fe5/16 fe4/7
i'm going to work on my husband. see if we can't take a drive over there. i think i've told you before, if i didn't live in NH i'd be living in VT. my husband feels the same. it's one option we will be looking into when the youngest is done with college.
oops, forgot fi4/7 fu4/8
there is an fe 5/18 but i don't have it yet.
This is a particularly wonderful area cliff-I love Montpelier-small, but good restaurants, lots of music, arts, etc. Adamant is a very active and tight community with many artists. Tremendous permission around here to be eccentric. People really take care of each other. Community potlucks at each other's houses, etc. Also drop dead beautiful . Only thing is......blackflies. And property taxes in Montpelier itself are prohibitive-as the state owns a lot of property and of course doesn't pay taxes and there's no industry.
sounds great. blackflies don't get us down. we're used to dealing with them. any fishing nearby? that is the one big requirement for us. we both love to fish.
fe5/18-one of those weird french fire words. Had to be because the u is the only 2 pointer around. Thanks for steering me to it. Ends in the chemical symbol for argon.
Morning all. Fe5/18 is Scottish for one who holds a right to free land.
well I don't fish, but there are quite a few ponds and lakes where I see other people fishing.
hi jacula. more scottish words - the scots must have helped assemble the enable dictionary.
Och aye, Cliffopa, I reckon so!:-) BTW, my icon is in keeping with today's theme - it's the beanie baby dog called 'Pretzels'.
the n's: nothings number + plural decree ni__ awful little hair bugges sisters one missing
Enable says 'naff' isn't a word.
do you have an ne 5/10? there are 4 ni 4/4's in all.
nope-don't have that one yet...off hunting.
Eva - Thanks for the sister clue for the n's. Couldn't think what you meant for a moment but finding words has become a habit.;)
i used to have a nice assortment of cat or cat-like beanie babies. that is, until my dog found them. had to have his stomach pumped because he swallowed too many of the beanie things.
Cliffopa - Oh dear!:( I don't collect them but my o/h's daughter does.
got it!
Early in our lives with Merp we made the mistake of leaving a large catnip rat out for him to play with on his own. Ended up in the emergency room for 3 hours a 2 am. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. Brought him home where he promptly and happily threw up the entire rat on my bed. We never leave toys unattended anymore.
i actually have a special room with a gate at the door for the cats to play with catnip toys. my dog has destroyed every one he got hold of. i have to use the room when i adopt new cats until i am convinced the dog won't think they are a toy.
Not so long ago, there was a photo in my newspaper showing an x-ray of a small dog that had swallowed an 18" metal tent peg. Lord knows HOW a) it managed it, b) why it did it or c) how it survived.
Cassette and video tapes, and plastic bags are other things dogs are fond of swallowing - causes havoc with their innards.
Missing a b. Have: vampire rodents a b___ on the screen sailing things + plural what happens to heated water + plural short for a metal person what's not there?
bo4/6 (Spanish) - A leather bag or sack for holding wine.
the image of dogs thinking a cat is a toy is a rather gruesome one. My friend's new seeing eye labrador ate an entire cloth napkin the other day. Came out just fine though(-: Merp is working himself up to a fine pre-breakfat hysteria. It's only 6:46. I'm not budging until 7 at least!
thanks Jac!
y/w Eva. Speaking of feeding cats, I'd better feed my two. They've been surprisingly quiet considering I'm an hour late with their breakfast. BBL.
my dog hasn't hurt any live animals yet - but he will pick up toads in his mouth. not a smart idea. he keeps doing it tho.....
that reminds me of a really funny cult video called Cane Toads. It's a short documentary on the cane toads which were imported to Australia from Hawaii supposedly to take care of locusts or some such thing. One of those incredibly misguided ideas. The cane toads look like cow patties on legs and are poisonous. You can rent it at the more independent video stores. If they allow any of those in NH(-: Merp is now eating a philodendron. Probably time for breakfast.
best you go and feed the beast :)
9 left to find. A nice manageable puzzle. See you all later.
bye eva!
afternoon all
wish it was afternoon. then i'd be home from work already :) hi sha.
Cliffopa. Hi again. Looking at your icon, I think you'd like the new Whiskas ad for Fred the Bedhead. Link is below (take out any Babble spaces)... http://www.whiskas .co.uk/Whiskas/en-GB/TVAds/def ault.htm
hi everyone, how you all doing?
any hints for the first in word please? The in5?
Often used as a prefix - meaning inferior or underneath. in5/16
loved the Whiskas advertisement link jacula! thanks :)
Thanks, haz. Got it. Love the black and white cat theme today. I have one too, a nine year old male who arrived as a feral kitten living in the garden shed. He's called Flad, short for Flathead, and is now very fat and loving, but won't be picked up.
Hi Ylleria, Hazel, Hydra. Cliffopa - Glad you liked it. Just been looking around that site and I see they're running a poetry competition. It closes 31st May.
Hay guyz! LoLz
Hello CAPONE.
Hi, Jacula - just heading out the door (again) to give the dog a walk but couldn't resist trying to find a few more words. I'll be back later.
Ooops, wrong profile. Refresh to see my biotch of a cat, Revelation.
I love the line in Frasier where Niles says he's off to take his multiple personality group 'And it takes forever to fill out the name tags'
LOL, Haz. Have a good walk. Capone - Your cat?
Yes, hence my comment. Have a grey and black tabby too, Pedro. Rev is 9 years old this year, Pedro is 3
pf 4/11?! I really, really cannot figure that one out. Can anyone help?
Ylleria - pf4 is a sound like something deflating.
Thanks jacula - I'm not convinced I'd say that's a word though
I'm just pondering whether to struggle with my final 6 words (a 'gl', some li's and an 'ma') now, or leave them until later.
Just got the 'ma'. Silly me! They are what cats sit on.
I got a gl jac !!
Hi Karys. Just got it myself. Talking to cliffopa should have clued me in, if you get my drift.:)
lol jac ;D
Hmm- that 'gl' is a new word for me. Must remember it.
nicely discriptive isn't it !!
Yes, Karys, it is. I like that word.
i can just imagine lots of us all 'gl' ing at evry available moment !!
can anyone help with the is 4/6? I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious.
I'm done. I'd have been finished a lot sooner on those 'li's' if I hadn't totally missed the fact that there's an 'l' at the top r/h side of the grid as well as bottom left. *sighs*
ylleria...nursery rhyme ? ? black sheep
Well Done jac !!
I still got 17 to go
Ylleria - it's an acronym. Is + a university degree.
Ylleria (an arts degree, if that helps).
Hiya, everyone!!!!!!
Karys - Just tap on my monitor if you want any help.:-)
Yes, that does help - cheers Jacula!
Hi Movieman. You look a little sticky today. I'm just off for lunch. BBL. *Turns volume up in case Karys knocks.*

Movieman... I don't have you on my chart... what's your sign?
hi shorty, lola, karys, jera, mac, CHS, whoever is here!
Jera - I'm a Piscean..... Born on February 22nd.....
jera, it is the sign that is rising (ie over the horizon)when you are born. Supposed to be very influencial and also the qualities that people first see when they meet you : )
Hiya, SCD....
hi hurshy :)
i am totally rocking this puzzle - is everyone else finding it easy also? i'm down to 15 left, no clues or anything, and in under an hour!
hey hursh! : )
Okay, gotcha... I don't really know that much about astrology... not my thing... but my experiment is cool!
hi hurshy :)
ummm, wasn't going to play hursh....LOTS to do this afternoon : (
Hurshy I was doing quite well before I started talking...
SCD - not particularly.... Still need 38 more words, and that f in the middle of the 2nd row has defeated me....
that's ok lola - jera - i take that as a hint :)
CHS, it's the dough you use for greek pastry
right, well I'll dash off and tackle the to-do list and if I have time I'll come back and play. It does look like SUCH a nice grid.... : )
Never mind, I just got that f..... It's a type of pastry.....
I thought I would have a busy day cleaning & sorting (we might be moving), but now I have a sickie littlie home so I will be reading lots of books & watching lots of TV, LOL
bye lola :D
And I still need 1 more a from the top row..... I have the female relatives......

yikes, class in 5 mins, better get dressed, last 14 later!
SCD - was that supposed to be a clue, 'cos if it was, I don't get it.....
Hurshy, I don't see you on my list...
I'm probably too late anyway... does anyone know hurshy's sign?
Well, seeing as SCD's probably gone now, can anyone else help me with that top row a?
nope sorry dont know
Have a look on angelsongs page, she has started listing birth dates.
Morning Gang - if you don't see 2 pretzles "refresh"
movieman....current month minus the 'p'
MM she meant the month we are in right now minus the P
movieman hurshy clue was a good one. Current month minus p

Morning Hurshy.
lovely lovely morning isn't it bbnaz?
Jera, Gemini (May 24)
Jera - what's all this star sign business in aid of, anyway?
any day that I open my eyes and get out of bed constitutes the start of a lovely day!
today is extra lovely though
Need the in 6 & 7 now.....
CHS, to put into, metaphorically, as in good values into one's children
You're my saviour, SCD.....
oh no, only a slightly helpful friend
*sinsong voice* hurshy used a woooord, hurshy used a wooooord
pisces here
TWICE!!!
dang, well if there are going to be prepositions in the grid, it's very hard to avoid them
LOL
Just me trying to amuse myself movieman... I'm polling everyone to see what the most frequent sign of Babblers is... I predicted Capricorn, but I may turn out to be wrong (perish the thought)!!
Jera, I am Cancer
10 words to go!
and WHY is is special Hursh? Would it be the day that you graced the world?
err Jera, I am a Capricorn
nope, nope not my birthday
you are merely witnessing the joy of a math teacher who has watched a brilliant mind at work.
math dyslexic here.........so anybody who can do great math things has my utmost awe
I had your info from last night, bbnaz...
you have GOT to be kidding me, i can't believe they took that!
i have ONE smart student, and he makes me feel so happy when i watch him think.
hey hurshy, what level of math do you teach?
calculus and precalc
you may be the answer to my prayers...i am tutoring a student in math right now (lower level than precalc) and i was stumped by two problems...
sure, shoot :)
Arrgghh! Calculus! *assumes fetal position*
Uneaixoise - I've reached the happy state of being too old to remember what calculus WAS!
well, it's kind of complicated to put on babble. and shoot, i don't have it with me today. i may have to get back to you later...basically, it involves multiplying fractions that contain polynomials (i hope i'm saying that right)
sure, fractions with polynomials. um, do you have AIM?
I'll NEVER forget--went into midterm exam with a B+ average and got an F! And before calculus I had LOVED math!
i do
oh, so sorry une :(
same screen name as here?
lovelyr79
Jera. I am a libra. Got to get back to house cleaning though.
pt 6 plz.....
pt plus fourth vowel and abbreviated female sibling.
pt6 sorta rhymes with term for bad breath
Or the nasty disease that rabbits get.
hello, everyone!
Hi TO :)
Good morning Temple Owl.
ty, all.......
faeriekae - nice icon!
anyone in the mood for a little GWHIM?
Thanks Temple so is yours....Wait until you see Shorty:)
Hurshy - I've got 32 wrds you would be here the rest of the day if you had to depend on me LOL
:) LOL, that's alright faerie :)
mine needs mustard! we are famour here for out pretzels and take them quite seriously! is shorty here?
SCD - what is GWHIM?
CHS, Guess What Hurshy Is Missing!
TO - I love hot pretzles with mustard :) Shorty was here earlier she may have stepped out for a minute.
Or, 'cos I only need 4 more words, we could play GWMIM....
indeed! we could play both simultaneously!
haven't you played before, CHS? read my bio for details.
ok I'm back again not as if anybody knew I was gone LOL
not true shorty, there was much wanting of your presence
faeriekae: there are no hot pretzels here...they must be bought from someone on a corner or traffic island and they are NEVER hot
lol shorty!
SCD - No I haven't, but it does sound fun!!!!
so which boxes are you missing words from, CHS?
By the way, I only need 3 more now.....
show-off
sure buddy !!!!!
Hursh - the s in the middle of the 4th row.....
Hi agian Twin Shorty :)
I only need 115 LOL
mine is so weird, i have everything greyed except the fourth row, none of the boxes greyed in that row
all 3 from there, CHS, or just one of them?
so what did your mom say faerie are we twins seperated at birth
ha I only need 94...
all three, SCD....
ok, my first guess is st 5/12
SCD - well done!!! That's one of them.....
awww man why isn't enuff a word
I wanna know why naff isn't acceptable....
Congrats MOVIEMAN!!!!!
next guess... mmm... so 4/5?
Shorty - there is a 5 letter word with those last four letters -
SCD - there's really no point in me playing, 'cos I reckon I'll know exactly which ones you're missing......
CHS - that means you are the perfect player!!!! :) :)
SCD - Nope!!!!!
hmmm let me look for this word
st 5/10?
got it thanks Haz
s + what you do to your laces
(note: hurshy not asking for clues, hurshy playing GWMIM)
You're welcome!
SCD - That's another, just one more to go....
st 4/6?
not the knifing one
nor the male deer
Oops, sorry, I misunderstand ...
it IS confusing, jera :)
Well done, SCD, that's 15 points to you!!!!!
:D ok, i am missing one from that S as well
so what did your mom say faerie are we twins seperated at birth :P
Shorty - I hate to break it to you like this over Babble and all but Yes....
Oh - is it possible i can supply a clue?? :) st 4/6 - similar to knifing one, if one is british
SCD - is it the st5/12?
franny, i think he got it already :)
OMG Sis *sob*sob*
oh crap. oh well.
CHS, you mean there are two? cause i just gave you one...
I've finished, by the way!!!!
i knew that! i should have said congrats! congrats, CHS!
She said she already had 7 then, out came 2 more so for an even number she gave you away to the gypsies.
yeah MM congradulations
Oh, sorry, SCD, I thought we were still playing!!!!
wtg movieman
we ARE still playing, what i am saying is that obviously i have st 5/12 since i gave it to you, unless there are 2 of them
I would've gotten it if I hadn't been on the phone!
waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh* no wonder they never cut my hair
Oh, right!!!! Doh!!!!!
LOL
So, then, is it the st5/10.....
WTG, movieman!
are there two of THOSE, because i also guessed that for you
{{{Shorty}}} I'm sorry....but she still doesn't want you back......She said you have a new family now and to just leave well enough alone. I'm just so happy that we found each other. Want to go on Jerry Springer show :)
SCD - Yes there are.....
yes there are two, thanks CHS, 5 points!
Movieman - I'm doing a quiz based on film names with cryptic clues given (i.e Departing on a Zephyr is Gone with the Wind.) What could be another name for 1. 'White House' 2. 'Hero, Villain and Quasimodo' 3. 'Act of the Action Figures' 4. 'A story begins in a South American Nation' I'm not much into films but a huge prize (£15) is at stake!
1 is casablanca
brb
2. is the good, the bad and the ugly
3... march of the toys? is that a movie?
I wondered about 3. 'Toy Story'?
that seems a little loose compared to the others, though
sorry I was brushing my nieces hair
why isn't tilsit a word? cheddar is. swiss is . muenster is.
yes we must go on Jerry Springer
4. Once Upon a Time in Mexico?
3. March of the Wooden Soldiers?
its <beep}ing hot outside....
good morning, all! is it a good demonstration of my self control, or a bad sign of my babblediction that I log on even when I have only 15 minutes?!?
it very cool here 60 degrees
Excellent - the money is going to be mine for sure....
haz there's a movie called Parade of the Wooden Soldiers, maybe that is 3
84 here
what state are you in capone?
tell them you deserve extra money if 4 is right because mexico is in NORTH america, not south
I'll google it to make sure whether it is parade or march of the wooden soldiers. Thanks for your help everyone!
Haz - I knew 1 & 2, but I really should have got no. 4....
ok, CHS, ready for more GWHIM? i need one S from the left, 2 i's, one o, and one a. they are all from that fourth row.
Some of the other ones that I have got include 'Precipation bloke' 'Locomotive contemplation' 'People who robbed Noah'
seriously haz, yell at them about their poor geography
Precipitation it should be..
Rain Man!
SCD - Is one of them the og4/7....
it's March of the Wooden Soldiers
a-yup, 5 points!
Nobody would get it if it was 'A story begins in a North American nation'!
Haz - They are Rain Man, Trainspotting, and Raiders of the Lost Ark....
I knew you'd get them, movieman!
but it would be TRUE and noah's ark and the ark of the covenant are COMPLETELY unrelated! other than both being part of jewish history
SCD - I'm guessing, the ab4/6....
5 more points CHS!
Ah, but sure we're only simple people here....
SCD - Is it the is4/6....
but if you've even seen the movie, you know it's not about noah's ark...
5 more points to you CHS! that leaves an i5, and an s5 from left
It's just for fun! (And to win me a prize)
i know haz, i know... sorry :)
Hurshy -- are you being too exact? what wrong with using a literary sound-alike to clue?
Haz, if you win, you have to buy chocolate for us all!
ok, ok, you've found me out. i'm a stickler.
hurshy, do you have the i5 that's in***red vision?
SCD - Then they have to be the in5/16 & the sn5/24....
oh, 5 points for une and a fish for me!
woohoo!
Une - stop stealing my thunder!!!!!
movie, you may also have 5 points for the in, since it was sort of a tie. but i have sn5/24
well, I made progress, but need to go now... see you in an hour +!
hey hey now movieman - game is open to all!!!
thats me finished
Or HAL will do to you what he did to Frank Poole and 3 other crew members of the Discovery!!!!!
Hey everybody...I'm sneaking in while hubby is gone before I have to go look at boring stuff at Home Depot.
YAY sha!
speaking of thunder, we just went from blistering sun to dark clouds and rain and my dog who's terrified of thunder came flying in and ducked under the computer table! :-)
ok any clue for the ab4/6 i cannot get it ive tried everything ARG!!!!!!!!
yeah sha
congrats, sha!
besides, CHS, i award points to both when it is close like that so you have no cause for complaint.
Nevermind I got it
ab 4/6 a+ male companion + plural
SCD - is it the sn5/10 then....
ab4/6 - try a shortened version of Native Australian (plural)
a + buttons and bo*
LOL
Hi everyone! How is the grid today. I really don't have a lot of time to play so I don't want to start and get frustrated if it is terrible.
i have sn5/10 that's a plural...is there another?
it's lovely today, SMF
hints for in6/18 and in7/28?
there's an sn5 that's a "chaw" :-)
Hi musicmom - it's quite a nice grid today, nothing TOO weird.
yes, une, movieman suggested that
Great thanks. I think I'll jump in while I have a little time. Please forgive me if I seem anti-social.
yes Hurshy, the one men p ut up their nose like a tobacco
in6/18 - to promote a positive attribute
ha, 1000 points to me, i found it myself, se 5/10
sorry, hurshy, didn't see it
'sok une :)
in7/28 - third person form of the verb.
Inge: they don't put that up thier nose do they? Really?
thanks for the in6 clue, haz!
oh haz, you make my stickling heart sing!
in the jaw
Morning/Afternoon all Haz how didi it go this morning?
You're welcome!
Good morning one and all.I'm wondering if I'm the only one suffering some unwonted persecution by the server today--having ented thirty words before sleep I nowm find theyhave disappeared into the ether, but when I re-enter them I'm told they are already entered. HELP
thanks Haz i'll work with those. those two are bugging me!
Hey fellow babblers! How've you been!?
did you refresh, hetty?
hetty, try hitting refresh
Hetty try refreshing. Hello everyone who entered. Lupe - long time no see.
Hetty, when that happens to me, i log out and log back in.
CHS - you still here? off to sudoku?
{{{MusicMom}} good morning:)
Hello FMitch - it went fine. I remembered to smile as hard as I could and at the same time put my chest out and hold the stomach in!
Lupe!!! How the heck are ya?

Yes, I finished a little while ago. Fellow babblers have been helping me to complete a film titles quiz. I stand to win £15. They're demanding a share of the winnings in chocolate.....
CONGRATULATIONS BRYANC!!!
Hey faerie!!! and I'm busy, busy, busy... We're trying to start building a house so it's run to Home Depot and Lowe's and fill out spec sheets, look around at brick, meet the people from the electic co., water co., etc.
alright!! thx faeriekae
I'm still here...shhh don't tell him I'm playing and maybe he won't notice...
welcome back sis!!
no CHS it was the se5/10 - i am surprised at you, that is much weirder than the other s 5's.
chocolate??!!!! what?
Hey shorty, hurshy, smaller! How are you all?
Smith - I know exactly what your going through and It will all be worth it in the end. Congrats on your new project :)

thanks smaller
yeah i seen it but was it mom or dad?????????
hi lupe, i'm great, and it's nice to see you again!
{{{{Smaller}}}} Hi, we are twins we just found out today Mom gave Shorty to the gypsies passing through town when we were born.
Wonder of wonders, thank you all. I have wondered about the magic word "refresh"" and sought for a button on the tax bar in vain; so I just closed down and opened up again and there all those lovely words were. Now if I can only get my image back (I tried to edit with a new photo in honour of pretzels but it didn't work. I'll try again later--want to double my score on the grid first. I'm beginning to feel fiercely competitive and such a state ois etraordinary for me.
Never mind SCD, at least I tried!!!! Anyway, gotta go, be back on the morrow..... Seeya!!!!!!
pf 4/11... how is that a word?! heh!
Ummmm-Good question Shorty....Mom sure had a lot of kids so maybe it was HER....should I call her again?
yes yes!
ok - calling MoM once agin. We have to get to the bottom of this.
i'm off to class, and yes movieman, thanks so much for playing... Guess What Hurshy Is Missing!!!!!
Pixie-- I think it's the sound of disgust or disbelief, followed by an eyeroll, that my daughter gives me when it becomes apparant that I am hopelessly lost in Geekdom.
Oh Hetty - Babble has claimed another victim.
bye hurshy!
hehe she sounds like my sister!
I'm off as well, but I'll be back on the morrow.... SEEYA!!!!!
Nowhere - what about the is4/6 too?!! that is a real babbley word too :)
bye movieman
Yep it is FMitch!
wasn't "sens" previously allowed?
ha ha bo4 rymes with io4 hee hee
i thought it was smaller but that might just be my minds playing tricks on me...
Yes,Haz--I gues so. Does this mean that soon I'll be extorting rewards for some contest of my own,l do you suppose?
can someone give me a clue to the PT6/21? it's the only one I have left to find!!
No, hetty - there are enough things going on in the chat log without another game starting! Just keep asking for clues!
pt plus fourth vowel, plus abbreviated female sibling.
Thank you Haz!!! xxxxx I'm all finished!!! ;-)
Congratulations!
Congrats JakesMum!!!
clue on bo4/6 i have the 1 that goes in water, the bag for wine, and the stomach disease,PLEASE
have you got the one that is what happens to water when you heat it?
NEVERMIND
Have you got the one that causes water to get very hot?
thats the 1 i needed every time i ask for a clue i find it LOL
It can also be an abcess type thing, but who wants to talk about that in the chat log....
Hey I'm back... had to feed the butterflies!
Jera I just got my hummingbird feeders out yesterday :)
Jera & faerie - that sounds so "tropical", definately phrases we would not use here in the UK.
Jera I pick up oranges from the fruit market when they are getting rid of them and put them out for the butterflies and birds
Well, it's time to go and get on with some ironing. Shorty - keep asking for the clues and then finding the words yourself. It keeps everyone on their toes! Have a good day everyone.
you mean they let you do that at the supermarkets?
byee Haz
These are our captives that we raised... we put sugar water on attractive blossoms. We let one go yesterday & guess where it went? Made a beeline for Sprite's Butterfly bush!
thanks Haz
wow this is a great grid. I only have 35 more words to go in just a short time. okay plunging back in.
Bye, Haz... do I have you on my zodiac poll chart??
I onlyhave 1 more left to find, the ne 5 anyone? :s
{{{musicmom}}} This is a great grid for first-timers... some puzzles would seriously frustrate & discourage a newbie.
how about fa4
shorty - think bambi?
LOL NEVERMIND
add the "one who stands for something" ending, NowherePixie
fa 4 = a baby dear
fa4 = Mr. Tumnis from Narnia
baby deer is spelled with a w...
yeh I also spelt deer wrong :P It was oh so cryptic....
Thanks Jera! Finished now! :D :D
Huzzah for NoWherePixie!!
en6 anyone?
What's your sign, btw??
en + t4/4 (a word that means to work/labor)
thanks fmitch!

bonkler - take your shoes off ..
bonk, think shoelaces and ti4/4
brilliant. thanks torgone and smallere. i think i saw a fish around here lol
jinx
jinx
fe5/18 and i am done. anyone care to push over the brink?
bonker, the fe5 is similar to the ending of polter...
jinx? am i missing a nuance, in my special newbie way?
LOL torgone! no idea, bonk
despite the possibility of another jinx, bonk, it's what you say after two people say the same thing
fe5 & 6 - a deceptive action, like in boxing ..
thanks carrie, that's the 5/16 though, i need the 18 :-)
sorry bonkler, just realized you wanted a different fe5---can't help you there.
oops wrong one ..
hey bonkler, just monkey typed it. You'll need a two-point vowel and the result sort of reminded me of the second month
got the dodging and weaving. fe5/18 last of the fe words. jinx....learn something new here every day
following carrie's sound advice, i monkey punched it and am finito for this grid. thanks everyone for noble assistance, comedy and larrnings
bonk, woohoo for you! lol and never stop larning. thanks carrie!
I thought larning was banned !!!!!!
au contraire caitlyn, not since the no babbler left behind policy was enacted. larnnings is good fer ewe.
I stand corrected bonkler lol
good evening, everyone! :-)
Hi Mikey how are you ?
YAY bonkler!
A dummie here asking for the ab/4 please
lol bonk!!
well hi there, Caitlyn; i'm very well thanks, and how are you? :-)
a plural of the short form for the Australian natives, Hetty ;-)
Not at all, hetty. It's a+the first three letters of my city, home of the Celtics basketball team in the NBA in the US.
hi all -- back from my morning excursion...
then welcome back, stidmama; we were on one in town all afternoon, too! :-)
Hi stidmama............Im fine thanks Mikey
good to hear, Caitlyn! :-)
Lucky you, Kenny Chuck. I luv Boston- lived there for years. What part of town are you in?
okay, not going to be overly proud today... I need a bo 4 and 5 combo that is not a watercraft...
stidmama- what you do to water before you make tea
bo 4 and 5 combo make water hot
think instant rice...
3 words left - help with in 5/16?
stidmama bo combo a nasty infected spot
Hi Mary2, work in downtown, near the theatre district
fish, please! *I KNEW it was something obvious...*
in 5/16: part of the light spectrum, in***-red
thanks stid
yw, musicmom! just one I happened to have...
I remember taking the green line to work dowtown everyday, listening to the paper vendors crying out "Globe & Herald". And going to Au Bon Pain for a breakfast pastry. Good times!
Do you have the in 6/18?
any help with ef4,7 please ? I'm stuck
sorry musicmom, that was my biggest in...
Hi, Mikey, and thanks. Not a word in my vocabulary till now.
talk ---- ef+cross+pl
thanks! :) I"m trying to go down the list and i'm randomly getting stuck so i appreciate the help :)
You know how weavers have warps and w****--just drop the "W"
afternoon all...speaking of not in vocabulary...pf is more of a sound affect instead of a word.
talk - if you do the list in order ---- do it backwards - start at the end of the alphabet. That will keep you from having to scroll down.
Anyone have the in 6?
musicmom a lot of people need to in.... good manners in children
Hugs and Kisses Caitlyn!!!! That makes me finished!!!!! Need to check on some curricula issues for work. be back later to clue
Well done mm catch you later
Good job, music mom! I have 23 to go, but I think I'm going to go get some lunch!
YAY musicmom!
Huzzah for musicmom!! (did I miss her?)
Has anyone here not given me their zodiac information??
She has just gone but coming back later
in6/18 - to implant in the mind
Sagittarius here...is that the q?
jera - taurus
Cap
sagitaurius here 6 /12
may i have another hint on the in6? it didn't quite implant like the word must recommend
Im Cancer jera what are you doing ?
okay, the in6 ends like what you do to make whiskey or vodka (take away the dis- and replace it with in-)
thanks vic, doesn't it usually have 2 ls?
Hi folks! Jera - I'm a Leo (July 24) :)
hi bugzy!!
Hi Bugzy
zodiac info? gemini here, or in chinese -- fire horse, month of the horse, day of the horse, time of the horse...
I'm back the person I need to talk to isn't in.
Just being nosy, caitlyn! ;> I'm polling everyone to see if there is a certain sign that Babblers tend to be... keeps me occupied...
Hey smaller, caitlyn :) Ooh, wouldn't that be a fun theme - Chinese zodiac signs (if we haven't had it already) I'm a rat !
Thats interesting Jera....I would like to know the result
Hi everyone 8) I still have the nasty bug....computer keeps freezing up...but, I'm going to try this anyway.
Morning all. I'm cancer, but don't put any weight in it. :) I'm just happy to be back. I couldn't play last night because there was so much lag.
Scorpio
(yes, smaller, both one and two l's are correct.)
Scorpio
hi wassup! a problem with being popular, I think -- bogged down connections.
Hey gramma, wassup :) (that's hey to wassup too!)
dear gramma--sorry to hear you're still bug-ridden, but you are brave and you will enjoy this one. Very few tricks about it today
probably. i couldn't do ANYthing. It was really frustrating. That's the problem with this game being so addicting. I kept trying all night!
Hi wassup ...Hi gramma I have had problems with my computer since i had it .When i post a message i lose the internet and have to restart!
how come the in6/18 works? it uses one letter box twice as far as i can see.
Hi caitlin, I'm cancer too, but not at all crabby
smapo - no it doesn't in6
I love my computer!!! The only thing I really use it for, is games. It used to be a Very expensive deck of cards; but, now, it's my link to Babble.
smapo - it goes up slight down to right and across the bottom
smapo, go down after the "s", not up
Im not crabby either hetty (but i do walk strangely)
Sags are finally on the chart!! Still no Aries, I might have to count my daughter... she doesn't really play though, she's more into sudoku & has gotten her teacher hooked, LOL
got it :)
my Tom plays occasionally -- he's an Aries, but also more into the number-box game!
Gramma! Sorry to hear that you still have that virus. Do you have XP serivce pack 2 installed?
my hubby is a gemini and HATES any word games. So, if you're keeping track of anti-babblers... :)
I don't know what that is.?..
Scorpios have a slight lead at 7, but there are 6 each of Caps, Cancer, Aquarius & Leo.
Hmmm... maybe that will be my next project, wassup...
Well, have you run Windows Update lately?
go scorpio!
Oh <beep> I'm late for my painkillers, no wonder I hurt so bad... brb
Yes.
sagitarrius & rooster here...
Ok good. Well, I found out some info about that bug you have, but not exactly how to get rid of it.
Matthew is Sag, Grant is Pisces... both play when I let them, though Matthew is more enthusiastic :-) funny thing, matthew is a better swimmer, grant is the better archer...
Howdy everbody! Jera, I'm a sagittarius chinese, I'm a rat
Jera -- take care of yourself -- get those meds in you, and come back to play!
Hi Deutsch
What I read said that there wasn't a patch for it. Whatever that means?? I'm guessing, it can't be fixed yet.
You're right:) That's what it means.
Hi caitlyn, seems I'm not properly dressed. hmmm... pretzels....
Yup
stidmama, are they like regular players? I'm not counting Sprite because she really doesn't play, not sure what rules I'm gonna have. Should I say must play once a week? What says the group?
Jera, how about how people feel about the game? Addicted versus non?
Matthew plays several times a week, but can't devote as much time since he is in school... Grant plays a couple times a week, but is younger, so his goal is ten words or more. Tom plays only occasionally, but at least once a week...
I could get a lot more work done if I only played once a week!!
Deutsch, I was thinking the same criteria. Addiction.
Deutsch, I wish I had a picture of zebra pretzels, that would be perfect, LOL
I have 24 words left to find, but the dog is jumping on the door to get me outside... not well behaved, but sweet. BBL!
gotta go begin my day. talk to you guys later!
Why do people phone when Im on the computer?
See ya wassup ^_^
Bye wassup :)
Caitlyn, you must have the same person calling you who called me yesterday.
later wassup and stid <----------Zebra swirl pretzels
Perfect, Deutsch, LOL
I'm still seeing pigs & flowers, are some people not playing the theme (like me) or do I need to refresh again?
LOL Deutsch
yay! i'm done... i have time for a clue or two before i go.
yeah bookgrrl! how about ab 5/14?
Yay bookgrrl !
Huzzah for bookgrrl (love that name!)!
ab 5/14 = a + something you might do to water (e.g. to make tea)
Yea, bookgrrl, from a fellow hoosier (Greensburg)
Well done bookgrrl
thanks bookgrrl
hi deutsch... how's the courthouse tree?
thanks, everyone
bookgrrl *stunned silence* you are the first person who knew about that old tree! Wow! Yes, it still grows. As you know, it gets its water from the springs in the clock.
ha! i live in terre haute now, but i grew up in vevay (on the ohio river near madison). passed through greensburg frequently on the way to indy.
I went to school not far from you, Hanover College.
hanover's campus is gorgeous...but i'm an IU girl.
Wonderful place, IU. too big for me. but a great school.
hi all ! jera - how many aquarians have you found in babbleland?
gotta go do some work... nice chatting with you, deutsch. best wishes on the grid, everyone!
see you later, bookgrrl!
Hi temple ........bye bookgrrl
Hi TO -- Bye bookgrrl :)
For the life of me I can not find one of the si4 words...any clues?
Hi temple!
anyone have the en's?
: ) what are these ab4 i'm hearing hear about - stomach ailment and something to carry liquid in?
en_to4/4 (to struggle or work hard)
i feel your pain kaitlyn, i'm stuck on the last li 4. do you have the mathematical si 4?
Kaitlyn snap
never mind..... : /
thanks music mom. got them :)
abe in li4 of a clue (they rhyme) I won't give you the word
si4's: math term disgressions is positioned on one's posterior
Yes abe I've got that one...and I've finally found the one I was missing...seems I was resting on it!!! Thanks all.
time for me to teach the wild things. Be back later tonight.
abe - the last li4 is an anagram of the preceding one
bye, mm!
ooops abe - gave you the wrong clue --- sorry:-((
thanks musicmom, i actually had that one ( i described t he incorrect li 4/4) but i loved your hint!
Bye MM :)
Bye mm
i have the li 4's that are anagrams of each other. it's the one before it....i'm sure its something obvious too
Later days, musicmom! I'll be back in a bit. Need to feed.
li4 - Italian money
THANK YOU VICUNA!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, you must have really wanted that! :) You're welcome.
Food to prepare! Catch you tomorrow bye
Bye caitlyn & deutsch :)
ok, last word st 5/10 the first one
abe - where piggies live...
abe pigs live in these
I have st5/10 where pigs live, but it's the only one I have, so I don't know if it's the first.
st 5/10 = st + grain
hmm, ok, then i need the second st 5/10
Then it's the weaselly animal..
Probably katieq's, which is a weaselly animal.
thanks kateq!! i am done. i am going out to lunch, but then i will be back to give hints! thanks everyone~!
st 5/10 = st + oa 4/4 minus the s
bye abe!
Lunchtime!!!! Hi All!!!!
how about the is 4/6?
yw! does anyone have the is 4/6?
Hi Mama :)
NI 4 and I'm assuming it's plural NI5 ? Help, please.
ni's ...number after 8
The is4/6 is dumb. Add the first 2 letters of the alphabet, in reverse order
ni 4/4 = number ni 5/10 = plural number
and plural
is4/6 - What a sheep says is---
OK - last word - fe5/18 anyone?
TY katieq 8)
ty! what a silly word that is
ty for the is clues :)
fe5/18 - has to do with Scottish fiefdoms, but it looks like German for fire, change final vowel, or start with French fire and add on.
fe 5 fe + last vowel + first vowel + consonant
Thanks Vicuna & ARB - wasn't looking to go up... That's me all done! :)
Congrats, Bugzy! Nice trillium, by the way.
Hooray Bugzy****
can anyone help me with the 1st 3 in's?
Thanks :) I love trilliums - my yard's too sunny for them, but my neighbor was saying that his are just beginning to bloom... True sign of warm weather!!
cifopa, I don't have the 1st one but the nxt 2 are " as parents, we try to in**** good values in our children." and it's plural
clifopa - in***-red vision
1st in - first 5 letters of (I think) opposite of ultraviolet
The first in 5/16 is a kind of special red light . The 2nd in 6/18 is in + a word for not moving without the last letter. The 3rd 7/28 is the present tense of that 2nd word
TY, di88
thank you thank you. i have been struggling with those in's.
anyone have the second fe 5/16?
how about the first fe 5/16 too?
2nd fe5/16 - high-spirited, minus the sometimes vowel on the end
1st fe5/16 - fencing move
the first fe 5/16 = as a verb, to make a pretense of, as a noun, a fake blow
TY Bugzy!!!
YW :)
ty x 2 only 2 words to go: ga 4/6 and gl 5/26
Hi all -- just popping up to say that I am a little nervous -- I only have 47 to go and I haven't found any of the 7's yet -- Don't bother to clue me in -- I have to go and can't even chat to acknowledge anyone :) (*Hugs for all*) and I will return!! ;D
ga 4/6 = mobsters' slang for weapons
ga 4/6 -- slang expression for the arms carried by gangsters
gl 5/26 rhymes with the white c***** of Dover (singular)
I have 3 to go: en 6/18 and 7/28 and the last si 4/4
hi again -- that was perfect. one hour and got all the onions planted, and the six lettuce starts as well. 24 words left...
en6/18 - to tangle up, ends with word for hard work. The 7 is present tense.
en 6 en + to labor en 7 --the third person singular verb form
ARB & Vicuna----many thanks!
last si4 is probably what one does on a chair.
Vicuna--again--thanks! I knew it was going to be embarassingly obvious.
thanks clue-givers. i'm done! yippeeeeee!
Thank you ARB. I was stuck on the last two in's, and I found your excellent clue at 12.52. I've finished at last
YAY ExWren!
Yay for cliff !
Congrats, kateq. I find it's better to end on an obvious one than to spend forever struggling for the last word! :)
YAY cliffopa!
And more conratulations, for ExWren and cliff!
I haven't really taken all day, I've been in from time to time, between the hairdresser and shopping etc.
(Or conGratulations, of you prefer.)
( or *If* you prefer... Oh, I give up!)
ok, i'm back. and i'm finished with the grid. i am here for the clue asking
WTG!!!!
I don't mind how you say it Vicuna, thank you
I need 5 more and then I can nap. PT?????
**Hooray for all the finishers**
and yay for ExWren too !
Aside from having, a un** or two available in the apt. complex. I can't seem to see the other un's. Help, please.
pt + 3rd vowel + a slang word for a female relative
gramma- pt ends like a condition where you have chronic bad breath
Hey ExWren, Congrats - and no re's today !!!!
TY, ARB. 8)
un 5 & 6- think shoes and laces
abe79, can you smell my breath from there? I AM embarassed.
the next 2 un's are what you do to shoelaces... the last 2 un's are prepositions
un "I'll be waiting for you ..... then"
gramma- LOL i had a friend who had the condition, and it was intense
O.K.abe, I'm asking. I'm stuck on the li/4's. I have 2 in which the first letter after "li" is the second vowel; 3 in which it's an "n"; one in which it's an "s" and one in which it's a "t" --now I van't seem to find any using "o"--or am I up a tree?
There are 4 li's of the first type you described.
oops! Can't count--I have 3 where the third letter is the second vowel :just remembered the french one
And 5 of the second type you described. There is another type inbetween your two types.
Thanks, everybody. I'm going to lay my weary head down for a short snooze. I'll come back later and help if I can. ^_^ g'nite.
OK - must get some (real) work done today. Happy Babbling, all! :-)
Sorry recounted - there are 5 of the first type where the 3rd letter is the 2nd vowel
hetty, do you have the li 4 that you find in the clothes dryer?
hetty, there is an r and an f
Yes m'dear, both in the dryer and on my list. But I've found the Shakespearean one. There must be one other lurking somewhere---
Hetty, Do you have the plural?
italian money? i had trouble with that one
hetty, do you have the one that means "in place of"
How about the li which is fibs
All you wonderful helpers, thank you so much. Don't know, ex-Wren, why Im never seem to see the ones in the upper right hand corner. Astigmatism maybe. Anyway, I'm just off to empty my dryer before getting a lift downtown to face the lines at the grocery store- - - - I tell you no lies
oooh -- hetty, wurds... ;-)
naughty, naughty, Hetty,
au6 and au7 is all that's left - related to au5?
Oh I'm so sorry. Have I broken a rule? I thought we could use our words (wurds?) when it wasn't in the context of clue-giving. I am most contrite if I wrongly let my gratitude wash me away on a welter of worrrrds. . .
lds, yes they are related. more 'endearing'
Good day all! can I have a clue for the fe 5/18 please?
in6/18 and 7/28? Thank you!
endearing au4? Sorry, I can't see it!
hi chic and harpjane! fe 5/18 is the scottish word for one who owns land...
fe/5-18 has to do with Debussy's apres-midi. Or think Bambi
in 6 and 7 were clued as something along the lines of "to place" values in children?
au words think about your father's sister's title
au 6 and 7 are related to au 4. longer forms of the word
Hi Stid and thanx!
ty stid!
oops, now I can't see the difference betwen "e" and "a". Have to get my eyes tested. But alas, the "fe'" word has eluded me too, despite my Scots Grandmamma. Something to do with the feudal system I expect.
hetty -- you are on the right track. first three letters of that system, then a vowel and a short hook letter...
is lickety's list in alphabetical order? like hetty, my last 2 words are fe, and i am getting nowhere fast
yes, Licket's list is in abc order...
is the o word from the upper right top "o" a compound word?
st 5/10 anyone?
72 - chooses
Temple Owl, no -- just a simple word meaning "chooses to"
one st 5/10 is the ti 4 with an s at the beginning
Dear Stid, I hate to disappoint you, who are so very ready with marvellous clues, but my monkey has tried every combination pertaining to your suggested procedure in vain. Dinna fach thysen, I'll persevere
the other st 5/10 is another name for the animal "ermine"
ty stidmama the ermine did it! ty
dun dun dun DONE!!!
hetty - second month minus some consonants and last letter
hetty, try this: fe + unside down n + first vowel + cons before s
Ta Stid, you are a ruddy marvel. The thing is, the monkey used that thread and got the response "invalid" as with all the others. I swear. Anyway I and Kaurie now have a brand new word in our vocab . . Bless you
my new word today is the gl 5... who knew?
hee, sadly, i have that fe, it's the other 5 and 6 that elude me
ok can't find the ni4/4 and ni 5/10 (the second ni )
chic - ask the knights
harpjane, did you get the in words - if not there is a very good clue at 12.52 from ARB
ma5,6?
kaurie -- the ones you want sound like what Victorian women did all the time -- spelled just a little differently. ain't it a shame ;-)
LOL torgone, I was thinking the same thing. chic - start form the bottom n and think numbers
ni4/4 and ni5/10 - number and its plural
ma 5/16: pupa of insects that eat decaying matter... spelled with only one middle cons.
chic - the last column in a mutiplication table
stidmama, forever grateful, am done! and had no idea that was a word =)
chic, six is afraid of seven b/c seven eight ni**
im on a mexican radio. hi kids!
okay, all -- been on for an hour, really must do something else for a while. see you this evening!
YAY kaurie!
gross. thanks stid
Boreetos! glad you showed up before I left... what are you doing inside on a lovely day like today? *scolding mama face* you should be outside soaking up some vitamin D! :-)

Hey Boreetos, got Salsa?
i appologize for showing up undressed, but the matter has been taken care of.
mmmm vitamin d... I soaked up a little too much vita d this weekend and now my shoulders are a little angry. :)

hi mikey.
hiya, boreetos! :-)
Ich bein da grosa quesa. (forgive my spelling)
not to mention my complete and utter mis-use of german.
Boreetos~ "I'm on a Mexican Radio?" huh? Well, I wish I was in Tiajuana eating barbecued iguana! (except not really, I'm vegetarian all the way.
hi marymary. yeah that song was on right before I joined in and it seemed like a good thing to type.
I haven't heard it for ages. I wonder whatever happened to Stan Ridgeway? Rather talented fellow...
Howdy again, everbody!
its preyy true, he just faded into obscurity... hi D!
pretty*

Hi candy, the ef sounds sorta like the 6th letter, plural
verzeihung, boreetos; ich kann verstehen das nicht? :-/
i want affluent to be in the grid.
ewf4/7 - think of the opposite of 'rights' and take off the first letter
BOREETOS IS THE BIG CHEEEEESE!!! HA!
Oh I would love to learn Spanish. There are many people here in western mass from puerto rico. I've tried a little learning, but I lapse into French.
candy...another words for newts
oh good, boreetos; then i don't feel quite so bad after all, for not understanding Spanish! ;-) hehe!
thank you FMitch- and hand!
Thanx everyone - some great clues!
Cloudy....cool and getting ready to rain again....do I really live in CA?

About 45min from Lake Tahoe....
good god mikey, you speak french as well?!
aaahh....FMitch can you tell me what you do now please ?
Hi Karys :)
we americans suck. Most of us are terrible at English let alone any others. Whereas it seems most people in other countries are atleast bi-lingual.
Hi karys!
which direction from Tahoe?
mais oui, certainmant, boreetos; je suis Canadien, et je l'ai etudier a l'ecole depuis longtemps!
Hi Schro :)
hi karys! i didn't see you sneak in.
hi Deutsch :)
I only just got here boreetos...but I wanted affluent too !!
darme un cerveza...to go with the pretzels
mikey, I'm going to assume you said: "yup, exactly. I'm canadian, so its like the rule or something."
Yes, FMitch I'm still here. I can claim to understand all the languages so far. Once the Japanese arrive, I'm stumped!
West, on Hwy 50....
well, Boreetos; not sure if you read my Babble profile or not, but i was born and raised in Ontario, Canada.....to and by a German mother and British father.....mom's from Berlin here, and dad's from Harrow (London) Middlesex, England.....good mix there, hmm? :-P so you see, we had French in school; and mom taught me German along with English from the time i started learning to talk.....and i haven't shut up since, in any of the 3 languages! :-P
si - yo pienso esta importente por un personne a aprender un otre lengue. Hi guys!!!!
LOL Karys and happy smiley cat! I do lots of stuff basically outsourced small business support, anything from PA to telephony, training - a bit of a adiverse basket.
SI!!! Mucho Cerveza!! Me gusto mucho!
boreetas, the English are normally very bad at foreign languages, we think if we shout loud enough we will be understood!
lol, Hazel.....you and me both! :-P
anyone have the in 6/18 or the in 7/28?
give me a beer and where is the market...sigh...4 years of spanish and that's all I retained. What does that say about me???
solamente cerveza para mi.
Hi Dachef!!
i wholeheartedly agree, Dachef; that is very important, i say! ;-)
FMitch so can I ask what the new client may want ?
mikey, I read your profile when you first joined, as I do that with everyone. (I'm nosey), but I guess I forgot that part.
Hi dachef!
in6/18 - to promote a positive attribute in someone. in7 is the third person singular part of the verb.
in6: to introduce, to teach
Jaime....in plus another word for 'yet' and plural
*thinks of a name for Babbletoberfest that's easier to type*
oh, ok boreetos; well, go read my yahoo profiles.....hehe; that ought to keep you busy for a while! ;-) http://profiles.yahoo.com /mikeyinberlin the others are linked to at the bottom of that one, in the 'cool links' section :-P
mikey, I tried to read your yahoo profile, but it's all in German
nice easy grid today - going down nicely with the beer and the footie on the tele. down to 14 words without the list, but am hitting the wall now!
Hi chef....thought about you today...cooking Italian this Sat. for guests
lol; yes, ExWren.....which is why i thought it might keep boreetos busy for a while! :-P
Karys - dont do Italian. Cant abide all those tomatoes, sleazy waiters, dodgy women and bad breath. Or is that the French?
hi dachef, It is indeed importante, i wish I had realized that when I was in school. Here's an indepth look at what I remmeber from my first spanish class: 1. Me llamo Skot. 2. Los nuematicos esta en la automobile. 3. Donde esta el bano?
now i must stop chatting for a while, so i can *try* to finish this grid up here! :-P lol
bit of both I think chef....but i'm none of those !!!
Wash your mouth out Dachef!
can someone give me a hand with the larger au's pls
Back to work for me....bye all!!!

ab5 - a + water at 100 degrees.
it's ok chef.....not doing 'much' tomatoes !!
a - plus the heating up water/abcess word
Hetty, a + to cook
brb - work calls - darn lawyers! :)
Thanks all three. My temperature suitably lowered.
Inge! :-)
one of my favourite little green Babble froggies! ;-)
Hallo Mikey, wie geht's? I cannot callup your yahoo profile, tried twice, no luck
ja; es geht mir ganz gut, danke.....i don't know why you wouldn't be able to load that page, Inge? very strange :-/ ah well; you're not missing much anyhow! ;-)
Was ich nicht weiss macht mich nicht heiss. I dont need to know, Mikey.
on sorry; and how are you today, Inge??? :-)
help me please the SE/5 10 !!!!
se5/10 adds a vowel to the preceding 'posted' se4/4
se5/10 - what you do to a letter (past tense) + you in the first person.
I am fine, finished this morning, and am just popping in. My penpal writes that few Germans observed April 20. In Berlin too???
*LAL* (lachend aus laut) Inge; i highly doubt it would do that anyhow! :-P at least i should hope not? :-/
M3....se4 plus third vowel
oh? hmm; i observe every day, and everything.....but then i'm just observant, i am! ;-)
my maternal au 4/5 shared his birthday, thats why I even remember.
oh thanks peeps. now the st 5/12 my last one xx
st5/12 begins a body part that gurgles when you are hungry
Please help ef 4,7 I have looked at all combos that = 7pts and I can't find this one?????? very, very, lost!!!!! Thanks
HAZ many thanks. few all done xx
ef4/7 - think of the opposite of 'rights' (as in direction) and take off the first letter
Silent....baby newts ?
oh, i see, Inge.....well, seriously; i think it's a pity if people don't remember/observe that, it really is
Well done, M3 - you can relax now!
ef4 is a plural - add the letter that is the abbreviated form of a drink made with leaves.
Haz of to see if the Suduko is an easy one lol
Well Done M3 !!
Tschuess. Mikey. Have to go. Daughter coming this weekend. Bis spaeter.
So M3 is off to find some more torture...... Have a good time!
is smalls still here?? wanted to give her the full description of the termite guy, since she was curious if he was hot...
Haz....how did the photo shoot go ?
THANK YOU!!!!!! I know that a have tried that!?!?!?! ( or did I? ) I need to take a break lol
ok, Inge; til next time then, ja! ;-)
LOL silent....!!
Oh Karys, it makes it sound much more glamorous than it was! It went fine - I remembered to smile hard, and suck in my stomach!
HAZ just looked it a HARD i have no chance lol bye everyone xxx happy wold Penguin day
?? the TO 4.4 (and 5.10?) that is not work - thnx
Bye M3 - that's what I like, a realistic view of the situation!
yoohoo! did smaller leave?
oh well done Haz...the tummy bit I always forget til I see the end result !!!
The to4/4 and 5/10 - French for roof. If that is no help, then think of the Nike ad 'Just do **'
a photo shoot, Hazel? what was that for?
lovely - thnx haz
It wasn't really a 'photo shoot' as in taking photos of models. I'm involved with a local cancer charity and we were getting photographs taken to publicise a sponsored walk that is happening and also a presentation of a gift from a local firm.
what'd he look like firefly? Was I right? :)
yup - thnx Haz - needed them! Down to 6!
You're inching closer, Dachef...
ok - down to 4 now. Need one L. Anyone guess what Im missing?
an li4 ? chef ?
Which box does it come from?
dach - a servant or old italian money?
have 10xli4's and 4xli5's.........
and its the bottom box........
I cant get going on the IN words (which are probably the easiest) - any clues
There's an li4 that uses just the letters in the bottom corner.
its an li5 Dachef !!
in5/16 - used as a prefix (think of a country's ***** structure)
nope - got all these so far! The in words - try in***-red, or in + what you do when the muic stops when you play statues, minus the last letter (and plural)
errrmmm..no it isn't !!!!
evening all :) ...quick sprint through the Babble grid, hopefully...
oh, i see Hazel; didn't assume you were modelling, just didn't know what it was for, and was curious.....or nosey? :-)
in6 and in 7 - to promote a sense of values is to in****
One look at my photo would tell you that I wouldn't be modelling!!!
evening all
evening scatty :)
do ppl have the ens?
Dachf - have you got French for place, or the old English word meaning 'rather' or to prefer.
not necessarlily, Hazel; you could do catalogue modelling, probably.....and why not? what's wrong with your photo?
Yes rolin - add a word that means to work in a laborious way.
Could use a hand with ma5/16 and ma6/27. Are they a combo?
I know isn't Haz pretty
I know my limitations, Mikey!
thankyou haz and dach. IS 4.6 then first two ST 4.6 and first ST 5.10 will see me out
grant - yes the ma6 is the plural. Think of insects used as bait for fishing and take out one of the double consonants in the middle of the word. Ugh!
hey Haz your my age I just noticed
yup got all the li's suggested so far - I think. What was the servant clue?
Grant - yes. Baby flies - yuk
hmm; i wonder about that, Hazel.....your photo is very nice, from what i can see! :-)
is 4/6 - if you were saying the alphabet backwards - add the last two letters.
shorty, glad to see YOU'VE dressed for the day.
Shorty - could we be triplets with Faeriekae? Me palmed off on Irish gypsies?
OMG LOL!!! Could be
and Hazel, everyday people of all ages are needed to model clothing for catalogues; no reason you couldn't do it if you wanted, i don't think.....not that you'd necessarily want to though, either! ;-)
Thanks all for the help. St 4's are identical except for final letter.
nut is that a twisted butt!!!!
shorty, it's a human pretzel, with its head up its arse - aka me!
hey nut:) ...just curious... what is happening in your icon... ?
That's very kind of you, Mikey, but I think I'll just stick to what I'm doing. Besides, when would I get time to babble?
St5- places where pigs live.
too funny
like it sherb, i search high and low for it, ironically, i found it low!
Hello again...on my knees ...any clues for ne5,10 ?
lol, Hazel....too true! but i agree with shorty; you look very nice in your photo indeed! :-) and hey there, evanonut; i had that photo sent to me a while ago.....and then i saw a T-Shirt for sale in a joke shop one day, that reminded me of that photo.....but i don't know if i should share what was printed on that T-Shirt in here, really? :-P lol
you can always be relied on, nut... ;)
ne5/10 add third person form of verb to be (he **) then the letter that sounds like a beverage.
Yay! I'm done! Hey there, nutster!
oh well, what the heck.....it said "I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I just can't stick my head that far up my ass!" :-/ ok, now don't shoot me; i'm only the messenger!!! :-P
whoo - hoo! DONE! No list! <looks smug>
GRANT! thank you thank you thank you thank you. I've been looking for that for ages! *starts singing and dancing* I'm done! I'm done! *mad, hysteridal laughing*
oh thank you, Haz Only 1 more to go...
*grabs dachef in dance of doneness*
*reaches out to chic, too!*
<twirls Deutsch round in rather suspicious yet raunchy version of tango>
oh ive seen shirts like that Mikey!
yay finishers! mikey, you don't want to see from this point of view! CHIXIE DE CLIXIE!
Hey Deutsch! congrats!
any help with the p's
no list, dachef?! wow! impressive!! i'm done but i totally cheated!
lol.....no, evanonut; i'm pretty sure i probably don't! :-P
* grabs rose to give to dachef*
although i can bend myself like that.....i just don't try stuffing my head where the sun doesn't shine, though! :-P
SMALLS! been looking for ya - got a description on that termite guy for ya...
p's - pf4 - the sound of air escaping, no vowels. pr4 - all vowels. pt6 - hoop letter + shortened version of female sibling.
really? getting used to it now, thinking maybe it is underrated.
bbll, have to start dinner... Thanks for the dance, dachef!
hey firefly! i don't know now, angela made me nervous!!!
<grabs rose from Deutsch and swings past evanonut, but after looking at her icon decides not to give it to her for fear of where she will put it>
think Chris Farley crossed with Philip Seymour Hoffman... sexxxy! LOL
and thanks for all the kind words and clues *mumbling* get so excited, forgot my manners...
worry not dachef, there's no room left in here.
what are you all doing? i'm a pretzel chair!
RRRENNNNNNNNNNNNNNIIIIIIIIEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEE

Hey Ren!
firefly, that is such a coincidence, that's totally my type! lard butts drive me nuts!! lololololol
Ne 5- someone who believes in ne??
my last 2 before I head of to work .. need help with the first 2 ST 4.6 - cannot see!
st4's - to stick the knife in, and male deer.
well smalls, more like lard gut than lard butt, but whatever - at least he wasn't a fogey like the last one
st4/6 - what do you do with a knife if you feel murderous towards someone? st4/6 - male deer
LOL Evanonut!!! Hey, Ren, are you gonna let her sit, after all the times she's chalker stalkered you? ; )
OMG - BABBLER!
St4's- one ends as abbrev for stomach muscle. The other ends as abbrev for farming
Hey there, Babbler!
oh man; poor termite guy! :-/
help with fe 5/16??? please?
Dachef Haz Grant - thnx - without you I wouldn't have finished
got your cats on old buddy?
Hi renny - love the chair.
Renny? :-/
haha Mikey - poor termite guy? poor me! LOL
hey guys!! :D
fe5 - fe + shortened form of "you" plus the chemical symbol for argon.
scribble - lose conciousness and change 1st vowel to second
*quickly throws slippers off and puts Cats on* errr... yup! ;D
hi Babs :)
Well done lynxxx! I was waiting to see when you finished. I must go - see you tomorrow.
babsy, i started calling my cat chockie, chalker stalker now.

she does, I think, Shorty : )
hi Temple :)
shorty, no opporunities for that out here! mikey, but you have that little bit of hair sticking out your shirt...its sooooo tempting!
i feel like i'm in the middle of an episode of the twilight zone. some freaky looking guy is driving thru my neighborhood in an ice cream truck/van with wierd music playing.....and its only 40 degrees outside! help!!!

i dunno Mikey...you don't look like scary is in your physical vocabulary :P
There's a sneaky little so/4 eluding me--I have the one about the garden (and its pl.) but I can't discern another
Cliffy!!!!!!!! * chalk mustache - upgrades to goatee *
ach, evanonut; did you *really* have to draw attention to that? :-/ *cringe*
hetty - it was a substance they took in "brave new world", if you've read that
moo hahahaha, Mikey, I am sure Glaxo Wellcome are working on permanent chalk just for me and Nut at their secret laboratories as we speak..... lol ! :D
so + I ** what I **.
;-{)
nuttyyyyyyyyyyy....save me from the ice cream man!!!!
lol, cliffopa; i guess it's wishful thinking on his part.....but spring's supposed to be just around the corner, somewhere; pretty chilly here yet, too! :-/
cliff thats how our Ice cream man is and I swear hes always high
hetty...would you like so** of this ?...change last vowel to first vowel
sorry - that should have read so + I ** what I **, only backwards!
its cold and rainy here in OHIO
ooooh Dachef!!! long time no speak! how ya doing? :D
we had an ice cream man drive by on Sunday... more in hope than expectation...
cliffy - i didn't even know there really were ice cream men, thought they were in the movies. do like stephanie would do, get out your glock - no wait, that's lula.
It's 78 degrees here. Hi again!
ah well, Babbler; won't be anything as bad as some things that have been done to me out here already, i'm sure.....like, well.....things involving duct tape and many little multicolour bows! :-/
Thanks, love, yes I've read it and can never forget the scene when they are all drugged and being transported to the furnace and the one gal for some reason fails to succumb to the effects of the drug.....nightmares
yo babbler - still keeping yourself pure for me?
hi Deutsch!! :)
Hetty- so4 ends like famous cellist's last name
and where is here?
ours has been going past for about two weeks now !!...and it was freezing at the time !!
where do they find these guys? is there a special factory that produces scary ice cream salesmen? a little short on the brains since we're only a few degrees from freezing.....and all the kids are in florida for spring vacation!
oh good, i'm glad it worked :)
police academy rejects cliffy
Dachef... umm... yeah ... (?? totally forgotten what you're on about, LOL)
LOL grant, i guess if you like him he's Yo Yo Ma, and if you don't he's So-So Ma
what do ice cream men do in winter?
karys - hes been going past for two weeks? Either you have a very wide house, or hes driving verrrrrry slowly.
lol, cliffopa.....too funny! well, i suppose that's probably why they're selling ice cream, instead of some infinitely better occupation? :-/
hibernate
lol; draw unemployment benefits, sherb? :-/
LOL...LOL...Dachef...should think before I type eh ?
Hey Mikey guess where I'm going this weekend?
ja, hurshy; they just might! :-P
not off with the ice cream man shorty ?
they work concessions at football games. My dog and I hate the "music" He howls and I run get my gun.
shorty - who were you asking? cliffy only shoots photos. definitely a police academy washout.
lol... maybe they winter in Florida...
hmm, shorty; that could be any one of a billion places, so could you maybe narrow it down just a little there? ;-)
i know ive asked several times, but all the clues i get are for the one i already have. so does any one have the 2nd fe 5/16???
ummm oh yea Deutsch
not so, scribble, i gave you a clue for that at 3:48
Toronto
fe5/16 - what aboxer does when he ducks from side to side.
scribble...you know the first fe5....well...change the constonant for the curly one !
scribble, do you have the ne 5 10? the fe looks just like it.
we had competing ice cream men one summer - frosty maid and good humor....frosty maih kicked good humor's ass when he found him on his turf
oh, nice; i used to live there, for several years :-) our family home is about 90 mins away from the GTA, by car :-)

LOL I never heard of that b4 (chicken something)
hurshy--language arts. we have to create an ad campaign...mom has been helping me with it.
will do... there's plenty of others who are within reach of London... :)
twg - fly larva, little white wormy things
BBL
Karys, did you say yes? will you be able to make it?
ma5 + 6 - think of fly larvae without the double consonant. And pluralise. Babbler - what was that maxim that you should never meet your heroes for fear of disappointment?????
ooh, fun. we did that in 7th grade! my group did a laundry detergent called B-Bam! the slogan was B-Bam will b-bang your clothes clean.
it's got ham and cheese in it - and it smells a-o-kay
FLIP....... I know this got to me today LOL
'You have 0 word(s) left to find' :-) that's me done.....whooohooo!!!
Goodbye, Deutsch
hurshy thats a great slogan!

mikey, i'd look excited, but i currently have my head up my ass.

congrats Mikey!
bye, deutsch! YAY, mikey! :D
thanks Dachef and cliffopa....I am done!

b'bye Scribble! have fun doing your homework!! :D (at least, I hope it's fun)
scribble - homework schmowork. I never did any homework and look where it got me. Actually, on second thoughts - do as much homework as you possibly can!
well; we're off to spend some quiet/quality time now, before heading to bed.....see you all later! :-) *waves*
evano - to be honest, I usually work with food BEFORE its been digested.
bye, mikey! bye, scriblble!
bye Mikey *waves from far far away*
nitey nite mikey
bye Mikey! have a good evening! : )
looking for clues to the final ST 5
Dachef - *usually*... ?
found it
BB st5 is the first five letters for tummy
st5: One of the minute pores in the epidermis of a leaf or stem through which gases and water vapor pass
thanks Chic. It appears as soon as I ask for some help those fish scales fall from my eyes.......
bbnaz - think of another word for "belly" (Evanonut is currently trying to see hers from the inside) and remove the last two letters!
hey chic!
Yes Temple?
just - hey.....didn't you just come in?
thanks Chef....I prefer to keep the contents in mine and have it continue its way south........
the picture is probably going to be too small to see - but refresh and see if you can recognize this album cover.
Temple you said hello twice to me just a little while ago; I was the phone briefly :-)
Hi TO
I don't think I know it, Cliffopa : /
<force feeds evanonut large quantities of laxative> Hur hur, feeling particularly evil today!
nope, can't tell what it is, Cliff
rikki don't lose that number.....
gah! dachef! how'd you get up here?
hello, all...I finished the grid a while ago as a lurker. just wanted to wish you a good day/evening.
Angelsong -- thanks and Congrats.
evening angel
hi Angel :)
hi Angel : )
Cliff, I know the song.... but forgot the band : /
dachef - sounds like you are making a mess of things......
its steely dan - pretzel logic is the name of the album.
bbl, have to finish house things 'nut, buzz me when you're done dinner...
dl88 - yup, same as always.
verrrrry clever, Cliff!!! I'd have got there (with the help of Google) eventually! : )
very appropriate cliff - more appropriate than me i daresay! i think i'm actually being rather innapropriate, what with dachef violating me and all.
yours is pretty funny, Nut
good to see some things never change, hopefully evanonut can see the light at the end of the .....tunnel?
you know, i have all these great albums. the real thing, not cd's or tapes. but i have absolutely nothing to play them on.
okay the first three IN words are killing me here.
* blushes * why thank you babbler, i'm trying to avoid carbohydrates you know.
all finished
in***-red
go get a record player asap!!!
congrats scatty!
the other in's - think of in and what you make moonshine with.
in6 - to in**** morals into children. Pluralise for the 7. Evanonut - to be fair, I think that is sh** diet.
Looking for clues to the last st/4's. I have the one that looks like an unfinished weasel, and the one that sounds ike someone with a cold calling a halt to traffic; the other 2, please?
TYVM DL, Clif and Chef. Now I can go and pick up my girls without googly eyes!
maybe i could find one at an antique store. i haven't seen turntables in any of the stores i've been in.
i could write a book called 'the sh** diet' dachef, would you buy it?
cliff: they have made a comeback. big dan fan, but mine were on *gasp* 8 tracks! LOL!
hetty - the only other st4's are the one you do to someone with a knife, and a male deer. Try going to the t on the bottom row.
evanonut - my diet is pretty sh** already!!!!
temple - one of my son's high school friends actually collects 8 tracks! he made me listen to them one time. i'd rather listen to someone run their fingernails down a chalkboard.
why am I following Dachef and Nut's conversation... ??
* chapter one * deciding if the sh** diet is right for you.
Babs - it has a strange fascination...
* chapter two * the sh** your in, how to decide which sh** is right for you.
hello kids. evanonut, I like your icon's take on pretzel.
I could open a restaurant serving sh** food. Hold on, I do that already...... LOL!
now i'm not saying i agree with this, but my brother has a mug that says "know why vegetarians are so thin? because health food tastes like sh**"
LOL!! everybody's talking sh** today! :D
hi boreetos! glad i got to see you - i'm just leaving...
* chapter three * eating out, why dachef is the place to go
I think all vegetarians should be made to wear a t-shirt saying "Im a vegetarian". That way, we would all know who it was that farted.
*chapter four* How to get your sh** diet back on track after a night out at Dachef's
lol dachef and nut! this is better than anything on tv.
* chapter four * sh** selection. good sh** vs. bad sh**
dachef, you really are a chef? that's awesome. I didn'tknow that. Heck, it took me several weeks to realize your name should be pronounced Duh-Chef, instead of Dashef
hi boreetos... you arrived just in time to bring some class to the conversation...
bye TO! class huh? I'll see what i can do...
Dachef, you have sounded the trumpets for me. For the second time only in two weeks of trying I have actually finished and I owe it to you. You have opened my poor old eyes to thge bottom line, just as earlier a pal opened them to the top line. Hope I can return the favour sometime. Meanwhile, just call me middling.
chapter 5 - "where the best sh** is served, and where the sh** is simply sh**".
a bumper sticker - "Vegetarian is Indian for lousy hunter" LOL but no offense meant :)
* chapter five * sharing your sh** with friends, why you should always share your sh** with babbler.
franks and beans!
LOL!!! I'm in the book!! roflol!
chapter 6 - "why not ask your friends round for dinner?"
who'll buy? we'll have to dedicate it to babblers everywhere!
chapter 7 - "what to do when none of your frinds take up the offer, and you're left in the sh**"
* chapter 6 * rigging broken toilets and netting your friends sh**
good one firefly!
* chapter 8 * why mr. hankey is a fraud
hi de ho!!! LOL
thx cliff! been lost in the fray a lot today...good to be noticed!
chapter 6 brings whole new meaningn to a mans net worth.
*chapter 9 * excerpts from How to Make Friends and Influence People
as an amazing coincidence, if any of you guys in the uk have Paramount Comedy channel, the episode of South Park is on where they count how many times they say "sh**" on the program, and so far they're up to 82.
ooooh! I'll put the tv on!! thanks dachef!
dachef - well sh**, i think we can top that sh**
Gladly, Dachef. But the Gulf Islands (north of your San Juans) are rather along way for you to come, and since it seems you are a chef and all I seem to run to is franks and beans, I'd feel intimidated. I'm about to cook our frugal supper. How would it be if I posted the recipe among thge others on BabAnon?
94
ok, bed time for me... I look forward to seeing this book when it's finished... sounds like top material... or top shelf material... nite all :)
* chapter 10 * tropical sh**s, how to select safe from poison
96.......
Good night Sherb.
nite Sherb! : ) 99....
chapter 11 - "sh** in the blender, fact or fiction?"
frozen sh**, not just for dessert any more.
* chapter 12 * you don't have to give up fudge for the sh** diet

chapter 12- "sh** doughnuts - holy sh**?"
to sh** or not to sh**, that is the question
13 donut holes really sh** holes?
*chapter 13* Celebrity Profiles and sh**
14 constipation, number one enemy of the sh** diet
LOL!!! good one, Nut!
Oops, Dachef, I've just realized you're from the land of the leek and the daffodil, my favourite of all British countries and where our firstborn was unexpectedly announced on a climb up Snowdon. Well, I made it home to Brum in time, but only just. It's an even longer way from there to here, so my offer of a recipe still stands. Anything to take your mind off that other stuff
14 - sh** that floats on top - sh**head"
Hefty - go for it!
holy sh**, this is getting out of hand. As it is I'm having a sh**ty day and here I come to relax and babble, and I get a bunch of sh**.
did any of you know there is a cocktail called 'sh** on grass? midori & kahlua also, sh** on the grass. green creme de menthe and baileys irish cream.
15 nutritional values of floaters vs. sinkers
cliff - you're sh***ing me!
the second one sounds really nice, baileys, mmmmm
i should be writing these chapters down! i could write this book and retire!
also - vegan recipe for one of elvis' favorites - sh** on a shingle: INGREDIENTS o 2 lb / 900 g margarine o 1 lb / 450 g flour o 4 cups soy cream or soy milk o 4 gallons / 18 L vegetable stock o 7 lb / 3.2 kg seitan, chopped o 2 bunches parsley, chipped fine o 1/2 oz / 15 g black pepper o 130 slices of bread, toasted
it's archived, Nut, you can always refer back! just make a note of the time! :D
16 - sh** with steak - bullsh**"
Only if you promise no more bandying about with my name. Or did you know it was one I suffered through school with?
16 why sh** isn't for everyone, dangers of the olfactory nerve
okay - another great drink: bird sh** ! 2 oz blackberry brandy, a dash of tequila and a tablespoon of milk.
ooooops. Sorry Hetty - typo! Realised after I'd posted! Sorry - Im not one to take the pi** uneccesarily.
just found a recipe for "little gator's famous DEEP SH** cookies" description follows: Here, by popular request(believe it or not) is the recipe for my famous disgusting cookies that look like cats poops(rolled in grape-nuts, which makes lovely fake kitty litter.
cliff - wont the brandy curdle the milk?
clif - what is seitan
maybe thats the point dachef
cliffy, me thinks i need that recipe!
ok you silly bastards I'm out. see you tomorrow.
scatty - eitan is a meat substitute. It is made from wheat gluten and is quite high in protein and low in fat.
cliffopa - cookies that look like catsh**? Why not just eat catsh**? Or is that chapter 18?
sorry! I assumed it would <beep> out the bastard part. :)
http://fooddownunder.com/cgi-b in/recipe.cgi?r=151990 please note the recipe comes from "down under"
OMG - what kind of shit have I walked in on?
cat shit.....bird shit.....sounds a little shitty to me :)
bye boreetos!!!
if you actually go look at that recipe, one of the mix-in recommendations is coconut (for tapeworms!!!)
what's wrong? did I say shit too many times?
bye boreetos! : )
My goodness. Just tuned into the chat log ... Say, Hetty, I wanted to tell you that when I first saw your moniker I assumed it was a clever play on words, i.e. "heady clues" being given in Babble. Then I read your response to Mikey and had to chuckle.
and my last addition to the cocktail menu: the sh** brick 1 oz tequila, 1 oz everclear, 1 bottle smirnoff ice and a splash of dr. pepper
nut, my recipe for Worcestorshire sandwich (it's brown): Two slices whole wheat bread, Worcestorshire Sauce. Dir: Apply sauce to one of the slices of bread, but not so much as to make it soggy Place other slice of bread on top. Gently press slices together to distribute sauce. Enjoy.
Hi Babbler - they were having a shit party just before you came in *teehee*
lol, hey Faerie! Think you'll find I've been contributing to the sh** conversation! LOL
i don't know where nut went mab, but anything with worcestershire sauce is a go for me.
Hallelujiah!!! FINISHED ****+++++++****
*chapter 17* How To Throw The Perfect Sh** Dinner Party
congratulations Rumplestiltskin!
Well - now that I've had time to read back......Your all a bunch of shit heads. LOL
congrats, rumplestiltskin! : )
CONGRATS RUMP!!!!
well done rss
mab - put chese in the middle, will taste nicer
Since I did it without any help I missed the theme for today, evidently pretzels. Wassup for tomorow???????
heh, tomorrow is International Zipper Day!! LOL
tomato juice with lots of worcester sauce, burns throat a bit if you are not used to it
rss - the theme for today was pretzels????? Silly me, I thought it was sh**. Well thats how the concersation went anyway. Anyway, it was all evanonuts fault for having her head up her ar4/4.
Today is International Pretzel Day, believe it or not. I was tempted to go to our local Pretzelmaker at the mall for a pretzel dog, but then I looked up the nutritional content ... silly me.
YAY!!! I FINISHED!!! this is the second grid ive finished!
okay, i'm back, we've made 20 chapters for the sh** diet book
congrats, scribbs!! :D
Yeah scribble!
scribble - you should be doing your homework - you promised your mom. Please dont read the log. <cringes>
*~*~*CONGRATULATIONS SCRIBBLE*~*~*~*

lo4/4 please?
how about the li 5/10 please and thank you :)
there is no lo4!!!!
so funny, I can't read... it's io4/4, isn't it?
awe sh**!
sorry thats not the one I need......gotta figure it now.
io + cross letter + 1st vowel
Never mind...
nut - was searching for such a recipe, too gross to print. but i found an interesting site: http://www.poopreport.com
li5/10 - plural of one of the li4's. li + 2nd vowel + consonant + plural.
i'm off have a headache coming on so off to bed i think, see you all tomorrow
i'm scared cliffy, should i?
on that subject, probably the grossest site Ive ever seen - www.ratemypoo.com - it does exactly what it says on the tin.
Good Night Scatty - take an asprin or something before you go to bed. Sweet dreams :)
HEY, I looked up the day on YAHOO and tomorrow is "Hug an Australian" day and the 29th is "ZIPPER Day"
dachef, i think i'm going to throw up now!
don't be afraid nut. it's a warm and friendly site. i wonder if scatty knows scat is another word for sh**? i wonder if we gave scatty the headache.
dachef!!!!!!! omg - that is disgusting!!!
Rumplestiltskin, the "National Zipper Day" is the 29th, but the place I found the International day said it was the 26th. Maybe there was a boo-boo
I'll go look again. I need to know what icon to use.
hey, if you rate the pooh, another one comes up!
dont blame me - i didnt make the site!!!! I guess you need a particular sense of humour to enjoy that one. Or an enema. Or a brain transplant.
Actually, Babbler prints a list of upcoming themes, and they are suggestions made by all of us. So if we have zipper day tomorrow or the 29th it's okay either way :)
let's not change things, too difficult to spread the word
EUW - Dachef, that was foul!! *cringe* :s
nut - did you notice that each image has a title?
sure did, since i'm on a poo diet, i guess i should study them...
I could swap tomorrows and the 29th's theme over??
do you suppose the green ones are better for you?
well, i think i'm going to go cuddle with the hubster before he decides to fall asleep. he can't stay up much past 7:30. see y'all later :)
nite cliff - thnx for the recipes earlier!
I want to have a day when we each take an icon from a word in the grid. Today I would have a picture of Bambi. Someone else might have a picture of Caesar's clothing. Then our icons would also be clues!
that's clever, Harp!! : )
What a great idea, harpjane!
That is a good idea :)
hj - nice to know someone on this site has an imagination - something we've been lacking a bit over the past hour or so!
harp - BRILLIANT!
dachef - we have been very imaginative!
harp - 4 Aug! :D
Okay, so August 4, icons that are clues from words in that day's puzzle. Fun!
okie dokey, August 4. Can't wait!
er, what if there are only like 20 words?
that is such a good idea it should last for a week!
dachef, the man with the answers
Yeah for Aug 4th.
notice everyone had more to say when the subject was sh**
LOL
LOL
chapter20 - mix sh** with four monkey brains - sh**-for-brains
thats a good one LOL
* scribbles it down *, that makes chapter 21
*chapter 22* Tables to Work Out Your Sh** Type - find the right diet for you!

Shit on a shingle - good meal - anyone ever heard of that?
chipped beef over bread..

gl5,26 any clues for this one?
oh no
I LOVE chipped beef on bread!
actually the word only shows up if you make it a capital letter *oops*
Gl 5/26------------- Think of a mountain, replace the C with a G.
gl5/26 - gl + vowel + double consonant. Rhymes with "The White Cl***s of Dover"
Shutterbug-I grew up on that shit... *teehee*
*chapter 24* IBS - Troubleshooting the Sh** Diet
My dad makes it sometimes! YUM YUM!!!!!!!!!
the word shows up if you make it a capital letter? Does that work with other words as well? <beep> <beep> <beep> Guess not! LOL!

musicmom, just monkeytyped the mo5/12 I needed right before I saw your clue, thanks though
pf has no vowels --- sounds like a butt toot
Shutterbug you were taking about your Mother or Fathers Sister....remember..
Oh yes, I remember now!
pt sounds like a rabbit disease (or maybe it is) or rhymes with chronic bad breath.
BGL the ef is a type of newt
ef+cross+pl

judi. thank you. now i've got them.
In ten commandments God says I ** that I ** put og in front of that word
Aouyt "o"'s--in that case you should look up and to the right for a strage word i'd never seen before that seems to ba fairyland and then the first singular form of the verb to be. Or there's the one that starts in the top rt. corner and proceeds diagonally to the left, a plural word to do with seeing
Shutterbug, how are you doing?
I am stumped! I think I've tried every combination possible. Does anyone hve a clue for AB 4/6? Thanks.

YAY faeriekae! Was just poking through the log, and saw you're having to cover your plants. Hope they (and you) weather the weather okay!
thanks guys
rumplestiltskin -- great parrot. : -)
Stid - I used everything in the house and the garage to cover them. I hope they make it.
Good night for the last time.
good night, inge!
Thanks Stidmama, he is a Blue & Gold macaw, very spoiled, named Harpo after my idol, Harpo Marx.
Good night Inge. Sleep tight
I've worked my butt off on those gardens and I don't want them to freeze. It is 40 degrees out now and going down fast. The local weather says 27 for tonight. brrr.
Rump - he is beautiful. how old is he?
Nitey nite Inge :)
10, I got him as a baby and had to tube feed him. He thinks I am his Mama
ooh, that's too cold! where are you? the arctic circle? oh wait, no -- the midwest. ;-) i won't tell you about our weather... but I know eventually you'll have better gardening weather and your yard will be gorgeous!
that is so cool, rumplestiltskin! I like birds, but with all my allergies, am reluctant to try to have one in my house. Must admire them from afar and from friends....
Stid - I really want to get out of this state. I absoultely hate Michigan and do plan to move back to Kentucky within the next couple of years but for now I will tough it out. It snowed on Father's Day in 2000.
grr, fe 5,16? not the fencing one
any help for the gl5/26?

gl is my word for the day! means a fleeting glimpse that causes momentary fright... gl + ** ... then + same consonant
you're so good to me. thanks, once more.
MissHoax what part of Canada are you in. I've been in Toronto severl times and just loved it. But it was August and the weather was really nice.
FINALLY got that fe one...was being dense
Michigan doesn't seem to fun to me -- actually none of the states on the great lakes seem very hospitable... but I also know that we live where we must, and there are nice things about nearly any place! :-)
and i am in toronto, actually... august is always hot hot hot... makes my curly hair even curlier...
LOL misshoax
Stid I love Kentucky and grew up there and of course my family is still there so I do plan to leave this cold place before too much longer.
stepping out for a moment, dinner is served! :-)
Bye Stid :)

good job Leslie :) Love the icon.

stidmama -- I just felt the need to vent and feel good about myself earlier -- my boss is not the most structured person when it comes to training
thanks, i was thinking satyr wasn't on the grid. 7 to go. sheesh.
Thank you rumple -- getting closer
I understand -- I'm not the *most* organized person in my daily life, but when I am "teaching" it's a different matter entirely! I know how frustrating it is to have a disorganized instructor...
si 5,10?
both si 5/10 are the plural of the si 4 just before.
i believe all the si 5's are plurals of 4's
si + hump + 2nd vowel, plural
geeze, i thought i tried that! as always, thanks
stid -- the worst part is -- he was brought in to get the whole plant back on track -- on one level he has succeeded -- most of the staff think he is nuts! The biggest prob is that he is from the West Coast and doesn't want to change his techniques
GOOD NIGHT ALL, GOOD LUCK!
G'night rumple!
good night rumple!
fe5/16? fe6/27?
hmmm. most of us on the West Coast feel the same way about East Coast bosses! :-) there's a big culture difference, but good supervisors will at least attempt to adjust! Will hope for a good resolution to this for you and your co-workers.
Leslie Ann, hope you unwind before tomorrow

hi knutmeg! ***Liv*** how's your mom?
Mom is not so hot. She saw her doctor's physical therapist today (the doc is on vacation) and the PT admitted her to the hospital. They need to get her pain under control and get some more detailed pictures of her back.
So. did we decide to keep zippers for tomorrow?
oh no! poor jaianniah! will you be able to talk to her tomorrow?
harpjane, I am assuming so...
