jaianniah! I have missed you!
{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}
Stid, I didn't get to finish, you could open a mail order service w/ all your bulbs...I love dahlias.
LOL!! I did it! I did it! I *JUST* ran in the door, having my mum tell me "one minute to the flip"
I meant to email you today, but forgot... :-( are you feeling a little better?
ahhh, so you have to refresh now to get the new grid?
I'm BAAaaaaaaaaaCk!!!!!! I'm free!!!! Yahooo!
kristinc, I am always willing to share. :-)
welcome back jaianniah!
lets hope this one is smaller and it doesn't freeze like the last one, Kristnic, have you thought of putting some hanging baskets up,
Am I the only one with a problem?
i am putting words in & it is refusing to take them
Try again..... The BF mother doed in july. We went for a memorial service. We wound up clearing out her house. Had freedom to keep what we wished. I was planning on getting my own apt so we set aside a lot of stuff for that and he took a lot of his father stuff. We left it there because we didn't have time or money to bring it. Now we will be going back and since we are living together...I don't need half of it!
leigh -is that your problem too?
I actually now buy new tubers from "Dan's Dahlias" he was the age of my boys when he started selling flowers at the farmer's market to finance his college education... and now that he's all growed up, he and his wife still sell tubers and flowers. It's nice to support nice people like that.
i guess it took a while to warm up - seems ok now
I always prefer local businesses
oh hootowl -- had to help clear out one of my grandmother's houses a few years back. That is a tough chore... :-(
Yeah. I just went back to the old page to play instead.
Then we go to NY to pick up what I left there!
I'll just caution people that I'm getting used to the whole pushing enter means you're posting your stuff so you may have some unfinished thoughts in the chat
I didn't mind but it was sprung on us as a surprise. Was supposed to be a vacation and we were new at that point
i've got some marigolds, petunias, fushias, daisy bells, zinnias, if you come and get them, they are free
scatty :)
it says 170 words total... I think that's a lot better. but I will wait until morning. Want to spend some time with Tom before I turn in. Good night, all! knutmeg, jaianniah, hope to see you in the log a little tomorrow.
goodnight Stidmama, take care!
hootowl -- isn't it funny how life twists and turns like that sometimes.
Night mama - enjoy
scatty -- I dreamt of your greenhouse last night, it was the size of Buckingham palace, and filled with such amazing plants, and smelled really good! and you served tea while wearing a tiara...

I was always told to write a book...Now I think about 6 volumes!!!
good night all :-)
Hi Everyone - I'm missing one clue. Anyone want to help?

hoot, sounds like you've been busy...haven't seen you in a while, hope you've been good.
Starts with B, 5 letters, and it's probably not a normally nice word.
scatty - sorry to hear that! No fair!
daisy bells, look like wild daisys with blue flowers instead of yellow
lickety...do you need the word? (sorry I'm confused)
is it a 'bo'?
yeah I need the word - or if you don't want to give it a way - make it an easy clue ;-)
Is there a scientific name available. I'm having problems with a yellow daisy. :):):DDD
Not sure about second letter.
I have an offensice bo word, slang for erection (sorry to blunt folks)...is that what you need? (no pun intended)
bogey
there is bo + a dorky person (less the 'd' at the end)
much more tactfully said helen, well done!
not that one - got that one/.
:)
r u sure it's 5 letters?
No myself personally ;-)
yeah 5 letters starting with B

I know, it's hard to write anything with that word, I'll keep looking
maybe it's like Chappelle always says. How do you spell that?
bo + opp. of front, less the 'a'
the opp of front that is also in the grid -as long as i'm giving everything away, lol

helen - clues are up missing that B 5 word.
When I find it I'll update clues.
Dr_God - found a bug in the chat entry - if you go back a word or two that you have typed, and hit enter, the text doesn't disappear. Then hit enter again and it posts again. see below.
testing for bug
I'm not sure I understand what you mean, lickety.
testing for bug 2
testing for bug 2
testing for bug on a long line ;-)
well lickety -it's not any word i've found yet and i'm at 93 gonna call it a night soon, but will let you know if i find any discrepancy

Oh dear!
Oh, I was beginning to think there was something wrong and I was the only one here! FMitch, if Lickety comes back, please let him know the missing b is bo 5/18, please. First bo. I must go sleep! G'night.
Will do broll, night night.
Any clues for ai 9/78?

Can't help. Haven't got that far yet.
that is one weird word
Thank you! Haha thanks anyway, FMitch. Appreciate the thought

yw
Good morning all. Not such a big grid today!
Hi Haz, good to see you, nice grid today, good words and manageable qty.
The site is still having problems - it won't let me enter any words....
Im not on the beta one, playing on the original for as long as its up.
Finally done~~~~
Good morning. I has to re-log-in to enter word in the new grid.
Congrats judierae
thanks, boy that bo/5 kept me thinking!
Good morning and well done judierae!
Good morning and well done judierae!
Good morning and well done judierae!
a lot of "well dones" hazl
Am I repeating myself, repeating myself, repeating myself????
giggle!!!
The site is obviously being a bit temperamental this morning - I'm not really that effusive!
65 words to go have 2 take kiddies to school bye all
LOL
Bye sha - see you later.
bye haz
Hi / bye sha
Are you able to enter words OK now Haz?
Yes, the glitch seemed to clear itself and everything is okay.
Good stuff! I see the 4 letter non vowel word for cold has shown itself again and I have found a fish too
I couldn't remember whether the 'cold' word had been acceptable, but yes, it is. And I've found the fish as well as our old friend the Greek cheese.
The dictionary is being uncharacteristically straitlaced. It won't accept mo4/5 as a verb, hence mo**er isn't any good.....
What out for the offensive slang! (b5/18) It's been nice "listening" in tonight. I'm off to try and get some shuteye.
Sleep well, sukinainu.
Thank you. Good luck with the grid!
Morning all, quick go before I start work!
Good morning katie.
Hi all - just a quicki babble before the day starts! No littlies for breakfast this morning - luxury of a late start for me.
Good morning snowyowl. Did you get finished last night?
no Haz - I gave up at around 3. am with 57 to go!
You deserve a lie in after that effort!
I'm just not getting the time to 'sit' for long at it in the evenings at the moment. Tonight is no better as I have a meeting. Hopefully things will quieten down soo. It's been hectic here for about 2 months now.
Well done for getting that far snowy, I didn't even attempt yesterday's. Did you finish Haz?
Yes, I managed to get it done. There were some strange words to be stored away for future reference. The strangest one was senryu. I can't remember the definitin.
definition. Can't even spell this morning.
Ty Fmitch. LOl Haz - You were here until late too weren't you & up and at it early this morning!
Wow, WTG Haz! I have to stop for a while, have some phone calls to make, back in a bit.
later fMitch
I finished the grid, then watched TV for a while and made the mistake of looking to see how people were doing. I hung around too late!
Bye FMitch!
Today is my Riding for the Disabled day so I'm trying to get an early start.
Good Morning. Couldn't stay awake to finish last night. Too many problems and too long. Should be better today
I'll be lurking on and off too :)
I think thats what I did really -just got 'past sleep'. I'm a good night owl & am rarely in bed before 1.00am. But if my husband hasd woken up last night I'd have had a row for being so late!
Good morning rumplestiltskin. You may find a few hiccups this morning as well but they seem to correct themselves.
Hi rumplestiltskin
My husband was away on a course in England overnight, so I could take as long as I wanted!
Well I feel quite good this morning as I slept till 8.30
So the brain cells are fired up and ready for action?
Weeelll -LOl I'm not too bad but by 4pm I'll probably be feeling it and I've got my Rainbow unit tonight and then a meeting. tonight I may be running a bit slowly!
I know the feeling - the late afternoon slump.
Got to and do some work. See you later :)
Bye katie - have a good day.
morning all
Good morning miametro.
hrm. not really feeling this one today..
hrm. not really feeling this one today..
Hi miametro
Sorry Katie was otherwised engaged & missed you leaving
Has anyone found any of the big words today?
No, not yet for me.
just realised that I hadn't changed my icon. I have the Mumbles Train which stopped running in 1960 but is recognised as the worlds first passenger railway which started with horse drawn carriages in 1807. this is the only fact I'll bore you with today!
nor me dalmation5 - sorry
I'm seeing you with beanie babies, snowyowl.
got the 0 from earlier clue. ai5 + what you throw a puppy
Good morning, all... I got into the new grid, yay!
refresh! Haz
sorry meant 9!!
Hi Jera
TY saffire!
I have a bout 10 minutes while my daughter is getting dressed... she has a big field trip today!
just love getting clues! the only way i can get the big ones!
What a strange word! And good morning Jera. Ready steady go for as many words as you can find in ten minutes!
Well I'm determined to be blonde before I die and so I'm sitting here covering my grey with a home colour! could be interesting around here in the next 45 minutes!
That silly little br4/6 is back...
I must go as well. Time has slipped away - as always on babble! See you all later - and snowyowl I'll be interested to hear what the result of the hair is!
LOL, my form of transportation is in the grid!
bye all. gotta trek to shops!
bye Haz enjoy your day! If its bad you'll probably hear the screams across the channel!
bye saffire
Headscarves are a great accessory......Bye!
LOL Haz - I'll bear that in mind!
lickety,s missing a b5 from his list, any clues to what it is please.
Well, I'm off... 54 words isn't a bad start? Keep the grid warm for me!
bye jera
I have only one br5 which is a type of goose
add a b to your re4/4

thank you
Yw!
ty mrpresident. thats me done. i can now go and cut the grass. good day all
grim gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
Hi everyone. What a relief to be back to the original version. I don't understand how Dr God is going to work out the problem with not being able to scroll through the entire log at the same time as entering words, but what I understand about creating such systems could fit in a thimble. Anyway, I'm going to stay here until we get evicted.
I'm w/you,sister! Eva you and I will be sitting here staring long after the page is closed!
makes me feel very ancient and inflexible. Is this a men with toys thing-the having to always tinker?
god I sound curmudgeonly! Who ever would have thunk it.
TO7??? help please.
Eva, if he didn't TOY with this in the first place, we wouldn't be here... it is a living, growing entity... no one likes it when their baby becomes a man!! LOL
me5/12 + to for the to/8
Innocently scrolling down the log.......not looking at any thing in particular...this clue jumps out at me. It's from saffire and says ai7 ai plus what you throw a puppy. Well for the life of me, I can't find kitty.
thats ai 9 you are looking at!!
drop your H's!!
I was kidding 8) lots of cat lovers
oh dear and i thought i was being all helpfull!!
You actually are ^_^
good!!
weee i was meant to leave for the shops an hour ago!!! got waylaid by the grid again!! gotta really go now! bye all!!!
Bye, saffire! Have a good day.
saffire, what beautiful mushrooms! About half of the icons are blank...is anyone else having that problem? At least its letting me enter words, which it usually doesn't when the icons aren't all filled it. mrp, I know you're right about the tinkering. Have you found things about the beta page that you prefer? How are you getting around the problem of not being able to access the whole chat log at the same time as entering words? I really want to learn how to do it all, but need very sinple, stupid instructions.
Eva, you are neither simple or stupid! It is possible to veiw the entire log at any time! Before, you could only see the previous 50, so it is nothing different about that
I know you can see it by clicking on the "view entire log" button-but that flips you to another page where you can't also enter words. How do you deal with that? I hear people talking about keeping 2 windows open at the same time, but have no idea how to do that although I know that someone showed it to me once when I got my new Mac iBook. Do you know how? And yes, although I don't think that overall I am simple and stupid, when it comes to computers i am for sure. Can manage email, but not much more.
mrp, did you ever get the Buffy piece I sent you?
I actually like to have the stats and the words on the one page It is so refreshing to scroll the list and still have the grid in view! I also really like FIREWORKS! and the chat log is kind of getting to the end of my list of things to consider, so I guess priority is another thing when considering the puzzle in a whole as being user-friendly. I will find out more about the opening two windows at once... that is the thing I find difficult as I can't have my a2z source open and visible (easily anyway)
Oh eva! I LOVE your Buffy piece! It is the most inspirational piece of writing I have read in a long time!! Very heart-felt and emotional!
I told Lickety about it and we both looked at eachother and realised how much it meant to us too!
Thank you. Glad you got it. In terms of the new format, I guess it depends on how one plays the game. For me, after I make the first run through, going through the entire log and attempting to understand the clues and enter them is a major part of the game.
I'm trying to reroot my plant and the stats won't take it.
Can you please use that in a sentence gramma??
oh, I see.... reroot hair! yeah, what is with that??
Morning again, all! It was so nice outside & sat in the yard & read for awhile. But now back to the grid (where are my priorities?)!
Good morning cliff. The blackflies are here with a vengeance! Have to go for a walk before they wake up.
Hello Jera... oh my house and garden went to pot at least 6 months ago due to babble! :)) I have widowed my husband and orphaned my children too!
Oh my, yes, those poor Babble orphans. They will probably form a support group soon...
they haven't shown up here yet eva.
I wont give them your address
i appreciate that!
mr.president, that is understandable. You're in good company here. Don't worry about your family, we're here. What more could you need?
mmmm.... spinach and fish for dinner again! (forces the fork to mouth..... gulp!!) oh yummy!! (grin unbearably!)
hmm seems like the site has changed. What is the URL for the new site please
http://beta.playbabble.com take out the spaces
thanks will try now
gramma, have you got a butterscotch waffle with triple cream?? I need that!!
If br4/6 (no vowels) is a word, I declare blech should be valid as well!
i agree jera.
does anyone have some clues for the 7's? I only have the br7/40 thus far.
I have no 7's.. go fish!
coom
ec7/32 ec + 4th vowel + t4/4
Oops
how many words today?
Hope that wasn't a word...
Whew!
Thanks mrp!
I got FIREWORKS - wow
ho7/32 past tense ho5/12 - respect
I must not have the right t4/4 yet... :(
How can we have past tense with no D?
rean
Ooop
it's not the past tense, but the person who does it, I think?
Jera it is the TO you like your body to be in (or is before babies!!) with er at the end (sorry ABOUT THE PAST TENSE THING)
Ah, got it
I had it, didna look at the t's past th's...
Please, how many words are on the grid today?
ho7/32 - covered with bristles
I really need to go for a walk but hate to leave when the site is working well for me as that is pretty rare these days. Oh well....priorities!
mo7/36 - only one crib
have a nice walk eva - it's a beautiful day.
to7/32 to + word for male + thank you (baby talk)
ce7/32 - a measurement of area 100th of an are
I have it4/5, what is other i, please... driving me crazy...
ok and there we have the 7's! (bar the br7 for take in air)
Thanks so much mrp for all the 7's! NOW I can go for a walk.
Jera, an it4/6 on your body would drive you crazy :)
Oh wait-there's an 8 too(-:
Thanks, MrP I didn't figure out all of those but you helped me pass 100!
Thanks, Chessy!
cool!
I have the 9, but can't see that I can make an 8 out of it.
no 8 from that dog toy! it is a he8 you need
he8 - body cavity through which blood circulates. gggrrrrr word!
Okay, it's not going to come to me easily, although the prefix is likely, so I'll save it for apres walk.
Did I lose connection or did everyone just get really quiet??
I'm here, Jera, just working on words.
Okay, busy, busy. I got nervous, LOL
Still noodling over the he8... can't make it happen. Prolly could have found 20 smaller words the amount of time I've spent on one big one!
how come "mooner" isnt a word? Ive been "mooning" at the traffic all day, so how come I cant be a "mooner"?
Hi all, just popped ni for 15 mins whist having quick lunch. What a glorious day here today mid 70 degrees!!!!
Gorgeous here as well, FMItch! Good morning!
That's right, rub it in FMItch - it's bucketing here!!
hows this for rubbing it in - i spent all morning lying on the beach!!!
I hope you get sunburnt and regret your folly.....
Awee ((Haz)), if it makes you feel any better today is supposed to be the only good day and rain is forecast for the w/e :)
Good for you, Dachef!
That makes me feel better only because everyone else cansuffer along with us!
I'm totally bummed... the Sprite's birthday party (which has been moved twice due to bad weather) might get rained out this Saturday!
That's a shame, Jera. Is she understanding about it?
Oh what a shame Jera, I guess an indoor one would be impractical.
thanks to the person that posted the new site address - this beta version Rocks!
She's very understanding about it. No room insde for a group of kids! We were gonna barbecue.
he8 - the bottom edge of a skirt + 4th vowel + anagram of Nat King C***
At her age, actually birthday parties are less common. We already had a nice day out on her actual day to go to the mall (got our ears pierced).
Thanks mrpresident!
Maybe that's why she's being so good about the party.
Saintfranny, Just joining in. What site address? What site? ---Book
beta.playbabble.com
Oh Jera!! that was ages ago! around my time my little one turned 8 too!!
Hello Haz! I clued a good one, I think...
Yup, the party is already a month late, porr thing. But she took cupcakes to school on her day, that was special
It was a very good clue, MrP!
We are busy the next 2 weekends, so it might have to be Memorial Day weekend!
Book - got the new site?
Yes, Saint, I was just trying to remember my login--since it wants me to sign in! Glad to see it is still the same Dr_God puzzle, and it looks easier to read/chat in. Except I haven't gotten over there yet!...
It's nice to have everything on one page, even if it's a bit smaller...
ok. yes, it's all on one screen now - word lists, stats, chat - Wicked cool
Times up for me and I hardly had time to chat and didnt enter a single word BBL. This work things really gets in the way of babble!!!!!
It is a pity we couldn't be paid to do this, isn't it? See you later, FMitch!
Got here! Nice indeed--is this a signal for more changes? --bye FMitch
I don't know what else is in store. But there are fireworks when you finish (by popular request).
i cant imagine the day when i'd actually finish a puzzle, Haz.
mornin babblers
tho, i have learned how to beat Spider Solitaire - and i get fireworks there, so, there's that at least ;)
It will happen eventually if you want to persist. But if you're happy just entering as many words as you can, that's fine. Enjoyment is the main thing.
Yeah, my days are getting too busy to spend enough time babbling. I'll have to drop something from the schedule....lesseee, laundry, lawn-care, {snickers}
Morning evanadine!
is Lickety the best site for clues?
saintfranny, is there a spider solitaire site too?
um, no, not a site book. just a game option on my computer, like freecell, etc
i gotta say, TGI almost F !!
It's the site I prefer for the 2 letter list because you can enter the words and keep track. It's especially useful for big grids like yesterday's.
Ahh, yes I have that too.
I'm back, my husband wanted to talk before he went to work...
Silly man, doesn't he understand I have priorities?
I was going to say - doesn't he know you have better things to do? (only joking!)
Rats, he woke up Gwyd...
Time for the list anyway, I've stalled with 59 to go...
Uh-oh. Problem. The way I have my screen arranged usually, with the clue window to the side, now covers up the chat!
Time to experiment! And time for me to have some lunch. I'll be back later.
His majesty has announced No School... stay home with Mommy...
So let it be written, so let it be done...
hi everybody...
Greetings, TempleOwl! How are you today?
it seems i have fried my hard drive...and with 25 words to go last night, too... : (
Bummer! I hate that... especially with the new fireworks feature...
thinking maybe i should babble instead of sudoku today -- im stumped over there!
I always get stumped at sudoku... never finished one in my life! But I find great peace in trying...
ive been doing pretty well...but lately theyve been ones where you HAVE to fill in possibilities + that ends up confusingme cause the grid looks so messy!
Ooh, lag is getting bad...
just wondering if Dr God is working on that....im entering words faster than the puzzle can take them
Yes, I'll enter a word & it clears the input box... so I try another & things get confusing... especially when it takes a while to show up on the list...
Must be getting busy, even if not many are talking...
It sure says NO fast, LOL
thats certainly the truth!
Good morning -- I'm currently writing this on the old site, because on the new site the page loads as usual, but no chat showing (only the space), and when I enter a word on the grid box, it just disappears but doesn't show up on the list. Is everyone having this problem? I already logged in and out, refreshed, etc.
cleared your cache?
my cache? (looks puzzled)
if you go to Tools -- Options, empty your temporary internet files and your history... sometimes that helps
brb after I try that. thanks
I'm writing THIS message from the new site. Evanadine, you are brilliant :)
yay! thats always been the problem whenever i have encountered something like that...
basically, your computer "saves" the old version to refer back to so things load faster... sometimes you hafta throw out the old info to accept the new stuff
gee, just like in real life, huh? Especially relationships and such :)
*doesnt wanna think about relationships* :/
well, your statement does hold much wisdom. we do tend to 'save' our old experiences and patterns and seek out similar 'versions' of the same man or woman ... until we have to let go of the old in order to make room for new growth in ourselves... okay, enough psycho babble :D
oh no, i totally agree! just bas timing for me, as my relationship of almost 2 years just ended on monday night... :/
oh I'm sorry. Even when leaving each other is the most needful thing, I don't wish it on anyone. (((( evanadine ))))
thanks... the worst of it is that neither one of us really wanted to split up. but he sort of realized he doesnt ever want to get married or have kids, and i know i do. not much you can do to reconcile that sort of difference in desires.
Welcome, ch1212! Love your icon, btw...
You have a tremendous strength of heart to find the courage to leave when it is not what you want. You are strong and wise to recognize that your priorities have to be met in order for you to be fulfilled. I am sorry for you, but I admire you for that.

morning, jera -- isn't it transportation day or something like that?
evanadine, I meant I'm sorry for your loss... but admire your heart :)
thanks CH it hasnt really sunk in yet... but luckily im on vacation next week, so it will help me unwind a bit.
what exquisite timing. be gentle and loving with yourself, and of course you know all of us here in babblelonia are with you in spirit. {{{ }}}
i know. those on the log tuesday afternoon were very comforting. :)
Goddafternoon, I'm back now, been to some computer training!!

I really like thihs new layout
So do I Angel.... :) *sprinkle* *sprinkle*
hone
Angelsong, your icon is the one I was looking for yesterday -- the bear with the wings? I have one that I received at a retreat some years ago. Couldn't find a photo though
oops
LOL Angel - Now I see how it happens
I saw people entering words in the chat yesterday and couldn't figure out for the life of me how it was happening and now I know first hand. LOL
yup, easy if ya don't watch where you leave your mouse, faerie. CH, I found her by just doing a google search for angel, beanie baby.
Good morning, Babbleonians:)
Hi ya Daisy ;)
oh, now THAT would have been too easy :D -- I googled beanie baby, white bear, bear with wings, and all that. :D ah well. lessons learned.
anyone have a clue for the 9?
sometimes simple works really well.
I hate to start out the morning complaining...but I noticed that my ranking went DOWN from the day before...and I played my heart out yesterday, even tho I didn't finish...can anybody explain to this mathematically impaired blonde here?
tndaisy, I had that same experience. Nice people here explained to my math challenged brain that simple points will rack up your overall score, but you have to finish a grid for the other two to change, otherwise you lose points. That explains why you see people in the log write "not going to start today"...
a 5/14 + b4/6 = ai 9/78
like your icon, by the way :)
thanks kateq ... now what the he** is that? (scurries off to look it up)
ch1212...ty...but that kinda sux...in a way. Just my opinion. I'm big into numbers, which does come in handy at times, but at others it's a pain in the rear! lol
ah, speaking of rear ... aitchbone! :D
LOL Ch
You've given away the 9 letter word!
O M G !!! I can't believe i did that!!! Oh I am sooo sorry. I am so sorry!
lol I didn't see it til I said it, so it doesn't count!
Oh that's the worst thing I've ever done on babble. (bows head) Mea culpa. mea culpa.
Oh that's the worst thing I've ever done on babble. (bows head) Mea culpa. mea culpa.
ty
I'm going to be very quiet now.
Thanks CH ROFL
ch1212 - we forgive you! And don't keep too quiet for too long....
no no CH...dont be quiet! get back up on that hore and ride!
Ch lets talk... <grin?
I need words today.
yeah, ch - could you blurt out a few of the 7 letters, please? LOL!
say WHAT tndaisy? (I think she meant to put an 's' in there...) :D
LMAO! omg...exsqueeze me and my crappy typing
no wonder I can't finish a grid...eye kant spel!
ch whats the 8 letter word?
*teehee* wonders if she will bite.
faeri! behave!
very funny, faeriekay :) ... seriously, thank you all for being so kind to me after my major gaff. I do have to go get ready for work. {{{{ all }}}}
anyone (particularly ch 1212) have a hint for the first to 4/t?
bye, ch! hurry back!
Have a nice day ch12 :) and do hurry back
bye CH:)
What the heck is that bh word??
Can't find a definition...
what's the bh word?
it is a bollywood movie!
Are you serious?
bh- you'll get a laugh out the answer
{{Mr P}}
{{faerie}}
I could use some help with the bo5/18, please?
a 2003 movie title--an Indian word meaning an evil spirit/ghost
Oh, I meant what does it mean (the bh word) I found it monkey typing
Mysterious & whimsical are the ways of the Enable dictionary...
bo5/18 - is a French word used for Germans. Add Mr Guevara's first name.
No idea who that is, Haz
Or the first letters of the dairy product favoured by rodents
Gotcha, thanks!
and how many lettters does this bh word have, so i can set my monkey on it?
cool clue Haz:)
5, Temple
bh 5/16
He was a South American revolutionary figure, with an iconic image.
Temple... b+ owl sound !!
Oh, yes, I know who you mean. Don't see his first & last names seperately very often
4 words left!
Hold yourself in readiness for fireworks.....
thanks MrP :)
I am about ready to pass out!! Gotta sleep, midnight pumpkin about to hit me on the head! Night all!
Good Night MrP sleep well :)
Good night mr president. Sleep well.
{{{{{faerie}}}}}
*happy dance of doneness*

Whoo-hoo!!
congrats!
CONGRATULATIONS JERA.......did you get firework?
Nite, MrP!
Yup, they are grand!
YEAH for JERA!!!!
I cant wait to finish so i can have fireworks
Does anyone need some help before I go?

Just Jera
just jera
JUust the person finishing, TO
{{{Shorty}}}
Now I have gotta finish the grid so I can see fireworks.
wow my page just refreshed on its own
Shucks gotta take my dog to the vet....time for his yearly shots. bbl to finish
bye faerie
bye faeri:)
hello. what's our theme today?
Modes of transportation, harpjane
okie dokey, I'm off to icon hunt...
If no one needs me, I'll be toddling off... gotta watch Blue's Clues with my boyo...
anyone have a 7 letter word list?
any clue for the an?
an6/24 - national song
TO: look on my page under A 2 Z
we get fireworks now? I've been gone a few days.
I'm having difficulty with bo 6/27...I have all of the other bo's, according to lickety's list, and it doesn't seem alphabetically possible...anyone have a clue for me?
bendamalina- take a deep br6/27
heheh, whoops, you said bo!
:) that's ok, I appreciate the sentiment
cute picture, but the way, knut
but there isn't a bo6/27? Did you mean bo6/24? Which would be the cute little foot coverings I put on Livia, add an two letter all vowel ending to bo4/6 which is a type of shoe
bendamalina, there is no bo 6/27
thanks, bendamalina, that's my sweet baby.
oh, yes...sorry, I meant bo 6/24...
curse these nubby fingers!
Thanks for the very appropriate hint, knutmeg!
you're welcome!
how old is your baby?
My friend had her little baby 15 months ago, and she's the sweetest little thing. makes me want to have one.
mooner is definitely a word in my circles. "one who moons."
mine too HJ
oh my gosh, I can't believe the last br4/6 is a word
makes you want to say grrr -- which is not a ord LOL
heh
anyone have a clue for the first oc 6/24?
sorry, havent gotten to the o's yet
anyone willing to fill me in on what br4/27 means? I don't understand all the codes...still new at this
girlfriend...at the bottom of the page is a link to Lickety's Babble Clues (if you are playing at beta.playbabble.com and not playbabble.com)
br 4/6 means a four letter word beginning with br and worth six points
that's a list of the first two letters of all the words, length of the word, and point values...so br4/27 is a word that starts with br, is 4 letters long, and is worth 27 points
Kateq - oc + to sharpen a knife
Hey GF...I know how you feel...I was SO confused when I first started playing this...and wasn't Pro yet either...so I had no clue about some of what was going on
get it now...thanks!!
ahhhhhhh harp said a word!!!!!!!
dl88--TY so much!
no she didn't shorty...it' s NOT a word according to Enable
part of it is a word
true...
the one with the s
I only came on to show my colleague how cool babble was and how we all chatted to each other but I would just like to point out that it is gloriously sunny here and I can't go home for another hour :(
Girlfriend, alos take a look at Angelsong's Babble resource page for all kinds of good information about Babble.
anyone have a clue for the first br6/30?
when will the new icons show up? i'm still showing vader for mine?
think of a French bread and delete one vowel
man, I really wish cohort was in there
capone...go to your profile and upload another one
capone you probably have to refresh in the new site
hi-please tell me its not over 300 words today-well happy hunting -gl to all
no 170 words
i did, last night
Thanks kate for br 6 clue
oh sorry capone then I dont know
yw!
haha anyone got a clue for br7/40? (hopefully i did that right)
there we go. i uploaded it on the other babble page, guess it didnt cross over to this version
nvm got it
ty shorty-just maybe i`ll find them this time-oh well good pasttime
170 words today.
gf: take the previous br6/27 and add a vowel
br7/40...what we all do to live...many times a minute
hiya everyone
hi bex
DONE...anyone need a clue??
GF you have to do this BR7 tp get air into your body...
yes--ec 6/24 ???
probably obvious...
ec6/24- helloo-elloo-loo-oo- one who does that
kateq, add a suffix (one who does) to the ec4/4
angelsong: do you still need a clue for the second br6/30?
nope, got it, thanks!
sorry--I have that --I meant oc 6/24
thanx charm for that clue
ok!
I need a clue for br6/30
there are two br 6/30
one is jewelry, the other is like French bread with one vowel removed
Goode morning and welcome, girlfriend. I think one of the br you want is something you pin on your bosom
WHOA! first time on this!
thanks katieq and hetty that helped
can anyone hear me?
Hi, Temple Owl. How are you?
fine, charm...trying the new site for the first time!
I like it, but it's taking me a bit to become accustomed to it. I keep getting distracted by the chat log!
missing: the firt bo5/18...help?
Grrr. I feel very English when enable doesn't alloa perfectly good word for the yellow flowerng bush we are all trying to get rid of. . .why does that mind me of something?
angel...take the br6/30 you were looking for earlier and remove one consonant
bo 5/18 = slang for German soldiers in WI and II or the br6 minus one consonant
got the B's now.
here's a quick tip: to keep from posting words in the chat, click your mouse anywhere else on the page when you finish typing in the chat box.
good idea Angel
bbiaf...this computer is being a pain...needs a real short nap...reboot
Can I get the link to the new site? I forgot to save it yesterday.
http://beta.playbabble.com
http://beta.playbabble.com/
Duh. *smacks forhead* I've been trying to get a bo 5 that means to screw something up, and I totally missed the fact that I'm trying to force letters next to each other that aren't really next to each other!
bunny, it's <http://beta.playbabble.com>
Join my club, leigh
=)
Hi- has anyone figured out BO 6/24? Thanls- it's great to be back babbling!!!
ty
bo6/24 - baby item of footwear
Thanks, Haz!!!
And nice to see you back again jaianniah
Thanks for that Haz, I needed it. And I like the co that's similar. =)
leigh, tks for co 6 clue. How did I miss that one having raised 4 children and taught 3rd grade for 6 years!
hi all!!
I like the ability to enter words faster in this site, no lag. But how do you "enter" to form new paragraph in the chat log?
munner- no problem. =)
on the new one, does anyone else's blip periodically?
Bunny- Use shift + enter
Mine doesn't, smaller, but if you're using Firefox, you may need to download the updated version
k, ty
smaller, mine blipped at work so I know it's not the connection, however it has only done it once.
ahhh! thanks ladies!!!
first co4/6?
co4/6 co plus start of equine
co 4/6 a kind of salmon
i must be officially old, i'm having a hard time with this change
ce6/21?
No smaller, you're just adaptability challenged.
thanks Haz...got that one. now I'm needing the co5 after the unconscious co.
add the vowel for Latin plural
ce6/21 - add a musical term or a piece of paper
smaller, I usually have trouble adapting too...guess I wouldn't make a good Borg:)
lol haz and daisy!
And smaller - I'm just joking. The politically correct brigade around here couch everything in such humourless terms.
angel...it's a funny way to pluralise the unconscious co
haz- i thought it was great!! good one!
any clues for the first c0 5/16--I guess the only 5/16
morning all - dunno if you beta-ers can see my icon, but it's the transporter pad from star trek :)
ok, the who's online thing seems a tad big brotherish
kateq--it's like a stone that you might use to pave a road minus one of the double letters
lovely--ty!
any clues for the he8/55? it would be much appreciated...
so how does "my friends" work?
smaller - I never log out of babble, so it looks as though I'm here all the time. I'm sure there are others who do the same. I haven't worked out the 'My friends' thing either.
I'm still struggling with ce6/21. I guess I'm just not familiar with the word
TO- It doesn't if you don't have any friends...like me...
I had to leave in a big hurry last night and couldn't log out when S/O got home...and forgot about it later.
it's a nasty word to do with blood flow--when you shorten a skirt you take up the He* = the beginner of old dancer/actor Donald 's last name and the painter ** Cid
that = sign should be a plus
CE 6/21 - CE + another word for letter
he8/55 - edge of garment, plus fourth vowel, plus anagram of Nat King **** (courtesy of MrP earlier)
ah, thanks bunny!
fa5?
thanks haz and bunny!!
bunny-long time no see!
many thanks! so helpful!
fa5/16 - add a woman's name (famous rose *** Harkness)
Thks Haz. What a crazy word!
i have "hitting enter" problems
Sorry, I've been SOOO busy, glad I'm able to pop in lately
Haz, what you do is, you click on who's on line and then click again on names you want to add to your "friends" list. Trouble is, I want to add them all! What you do next s anyone's guess--just keep on making friends perhaps. O.K. by me!
And for the my friends: Click who's online, the there is a link to add to my friends
then what? can you talk to them like im? do you get notice when one logs on?
haz, can you try another clue for the fa5? I don't get it.....sorry.....
anyone have the first mo 5/14? please and ty
dunno TO, I haven't really messed with it. I figure if I want to chatter, i'll do it in the log when I see
them come in . (Darn Enter)
mo 5/14 - mo + first three letters of the word opp of good-bye
fa 5 - f + use the word for a performing stage at the circus minus the "r" - ar***
fa5/16 - what bunny just said!
hi again - back for round II ... and I promise not to type in any more big (or little) words ;)
TY Bunny--I'm done--my fireworks are going off! LOL
congrats Kateq!!
Thanks--any clues for anyone?
not unless you can teach me how to invest my saving into more profitable interest bearing account...
so I didn't start last night because it looked easier than yesterdays.... how's the grid for you all?
YAY Kateq!
There are a few buggers, but not to bad.
good morning, hetty, is it as sunny up your way as it is here? though it looks like clouds may roll in later...
thanks bunny, here goes... *diving in*
this seems like a pretty nice grid
ec7?
Oh jeez, we had a wind storm night before last, lost two windows in the back of thoe house and I gave up chasing the patio furniture down the road! We hunkered in the hallway, thought we were having a tornado for sure!
hey stid - my pc died right after i joined last night!
ec 7 - ec + third vowel + you excercise to **** you muscles
(can't type today)
ec 7 = ec + 4th vowel + to 4/4
Good morning, stid. It's manageable today, methinks Anyway, I've got 62 words already after thirty minutes on and off and now I'm off to the library so I'll see you later. Just swa your greeing, and yes, it's sunny up kere and the meadow is full of he yelllow bush we're supposed to get rid of. Remind you of anything? SYS
oh no TempleOwl! I am so sorry... looks like it's better today?
ec7/32 - means a transitional area between two communities - or could be British prime minister trying to be green.
later hetty -- have fun at the library! yes, we have plenty of the dratted br 5 in our area as well...
Haz1558 He should be so lucky!
bye all--have a lovely day/evening
ooh bunny, that sounds nasty! the last big storm here a tree fell on a corner of my parents' house -- they are almost done fixing it now, three months later.
((morning, hurshy))
((stidmama)) morning to you too :)
no stid - i'm at work . this is one time that procrastinating on my classwork had paid off - i guess!
I've been through two tornados, but never one with the kids. Scary. scary! I'm just glad we rent!
Bye Kateq
bye Kateq! have a good day :-)
Haz--just saw your joke about a greening PM and think you're oh so clever. Later
Have a good day. I have a healthy dislike of our PM!
yeah, i liked that one too, haz :)
Me too Haz
Thank you!
oh I just discovered the pop up box with the 'view entire chat log' icon... very nice indeed!
how could ramen not be a word?!!!!
does it WORK, ch1212? cause in sudoku, i have had probs with it showing me the beginning and then just getting cut off after a certain point (although usually in the afternoon, so maybe it is fine up to a certain length...?)
lol Bend...I agree
brb. dog wants off bed (she can get up by herself, but not down...) *sigh*
and ch1212, can you see my icon? it's a transporter pad!
I just tested it -- it not only works, but I can leave it up if I like while I play
en6's?
why, in slim times it's what people live on....
hurshy, I wish I could see your icon -- i learned I had to change mine here instead of just on the old site. maybe you could try that?
does this version of babble alert you when someone comes online?
en 6 - en + what you wear after a shower
en 6 - en + the part of a plant under the ground
no capone, and also if you don't sign out everytime it will indicate you are still here.
sadly, i cannot use the beta until it becomes THE site, bc the beta is being blocked by our firewall
yea i had to upload my new avatar on BOTH sites for it to take
okay, I'll pop over to the old site for a quick look, even though of course I know what a transporter pad looks like! :)
hmmm, my bunny followed me over with no problem
well i guess i'll be on 24-7 lurker status, i never log...lol
I suspect you won't be alone, capone. It's something for us to keep in mind if someone says 'bye' then appears to still bea round (or bea oblong?) :D
I wish there was an "away" feature for us lurkers capone:)
er6/18?
er 6/18 - er + to complain (**** and rave)
back -- my father called, and I am going over for coffee in a bit (since he retired I try to get over there once a week...), but I told him I needed to finish breakfast first. :-) "Babble -- the breakfast of champions!"
well, pretty much remember that my babble time is 7a - 3p eastern, aside from the occasional pop in to pick on my fave SBB, Faerie. So if you say something to me outside that window and I don't respond, don't take it personal (or do, it really doesn't matter to me 8p )
thanks again bunny!
;)
I can't believe I didn't see that one
I've discovered I can open the entire chat log in a new tab in Firefox...very neat!
morning, Angelsong! that is cool!
Angel, does the Let's Babble link on your page take you to the new or old site?
I am more glad than ever that I went Pro...:)
old one. I will leave it so that folks can get there...
are you gonna stick in a link to the new site (sorry I'm pestering you)
has anyone heard doc say anything about how long he thinks it will take to work out the bugs and make the beta the official site?
Not I (been absentee lately)
anyone have a clue for the 9 letter ai?
I thought he said yesterday it would be just a few days.
if you have the ai 5/14 before it, add on the word for what you skeleton is made of
Then again, I could be crazy. Strike that, I know I am crazy.
Just popped in. I have one major bug left to fix in Explorer, and then it might be time to switch the sites.
good. moving is always stressful - i like to be settled.
Rocky it's a large bo** found in beef
I keep wanting to type "belch" -- it just feels like it ought to be there!
ai9 is between the geebo4/6 and the eyebo4/6
hi Dr_G
thanx bunnyvicious, I never would have got that.
yw
jaianniah -- I see you are online... (love that feature) how are you today? I can't stay much longer, but wanted to say hi.
doc, you don't think there's any way my firewall blocking will follow the beta site to this address, if this one isn't blocked, do you?
Cute one, tor..
ope, brb, messy diaper in the works!
mom, I see "belch" too, just like you do:)
thx leigh ..
=)
*sob* can't figure out the clever ai 9 clue... signed, unclever stidmama
stid, ai5 is the 8th letter spelled out, and then add bo4
stidmama How would you spell H
ty hurshy! *dance of delight*
that is one weird word!
dunno - i think it's not too weird... not like senryu
ty also Frances...
hello? 'atchoo'? the sound of a sneeze?
any takers for the last ho7/32?
hurshy- If "www.playbabble.com" is blocked, it will most likely remain so after the switch
stidmama You're welcome
I am down to 106 left, need to go let the dogs in now, and get over to my father's for coffee. BBL
it's not, doc, only the beta.playbabble.com is blocked.
bye, stid!
there is a new link to the Beta site under Let's Babble on my resource page now...
so what i was asking is if the blocking of beta could carry over when it becomes www, even though www is NOT currently blocked
Ooooh. Then "no."
I don't *think*
you might not know, but then again you might, so i thought i'd ask :) if it does i'll just have to get them to unblock it, that's all
i also figured if there were any precautions YOU could take to make sure it didn't happen, it would be just as well if you were alerted to the situation :)
hursh: i was concerned that there would be something that our site considered possibly malicious code in here - so far so good...
ho 7/32 - ho + what you do when you lease an apartment, double first cons
temple - for me the prob is not maliciousness, but the fact that the school blocks most game sites - with a school of teenage boys, if we didn't, they wouldn't get much else done!
gee - for some reason my puter is making an awful noise - like the fan is running overtime....yikes! i already killed the on at home!
uhoh - angry computer? never good :(
i guess i'd better bail! happy babbling everyone!
Bye TO
bye temple :)
I really like the bar that repeats the word you just entered. If it's not accepted, you can see if you missplelled it.
me too, tor but i can't get the blippy to go away
Hi all ..bunny how are you ?
blippy?
hi caitliyn!
Hey Cait! Babysitting my niece since Monday! We're good though. Twins finally got rid of the rotten they caught at grandmas.
anyone have oc 6 (the last one)?
there's a flash of some white screen about every 3-4 seconds, i had it on the iron sudoku thing too. the 2 times i played it
if you have the oc 5/14 before it, add on the first vowel
Any help please - the 7s I have are: ec7/32 ho7/32x2 mo7/36 to7/32 I seem to be missing 2
smaller- Update to Firefox 1.5
smaller, did you upgrade to firefox 1.5?
oc5/14 is a color
br 7 & ce 7
That great to hear bunny .I have had the youngest today and again tomorrow night!
thought i did. hmmm.
thanks bunnyvicious!
Did you grandbabies come back from Spain?
yw
Thanks bunny
No they are there until next Tuesday I think im missing them more than their mam is.
Can anyone help me with the ce 6/21?
ce 6/21 - ce + another word for letter
$100
My mom always misses the kiddos more than I think I do when they are, she calls me every hour to see if I've heard how they are!
Thanks bunny. I thought I typed that before. Ah well.
When i played on the new site today a couple of times it was saying I needed more words when i didnt. Then when i finished i had the congratulations bur it then told me I had another word to get .Anyone else having this?
This is the second time I've played on the new one, no hitches here.
caitlyn- It was saying that I had an extra word too, on my word stats.
The archives, are they new? Nothing happens when I click the link.
caitlyn & leigh- You both got the fireforks even though the stats panel showed that there were still words not found? Was the stats panel wrong? Or did you, in fact, have more words to find?
Never mind, I'm a dolt, have to click to WORD. if you finish an archived puzzle, does it change your stats?
wait, what?? we CAN do archived puzzles now??
I have gone back to the old site for now, when i do use the other one where is my profile? Im probably being really stupid!
I never got to finish the puzzle last night. But yesterday afternoon my word stats + my word list = 1 more than the total words of the day. When I came back last night, it seemed to be fixed.
Archived puzzles can not be played. Have no fear.
caitlyn- The profile is in the same place on both sites.
yeah i was starting to rethink my casual statement of yesterday that if we could, i would just play one a day until done - fear gripped my heart when it seemed to be a real possibility
Well darn, you can play them in Sudoku! It's ok, I don't need to go back and do them, I'd be forever on my computer!
Dr God I had finished the grid but i left to go to angels page then when i came back it said i needed another word. When i switched to the old site it showed i finished
caitlyn- Did you try to enter the mysterious missing word?
No i didnt know there was one
it seems to me the difference is, with sudoku it is either done or not done. with babble, the number of words you have at midnight can be anywhere from zero to the total. so would you then play one over multiple days? how would you store it? it would be a mess. i can see why doc g isn't doing it :)
caitlyn- I thought you said the beta sites said you needed one more word.
Good point, I'm just being greedy.... I feel a deep loss when I complete a puzzle.
It did I dont know what it says now
cait - what he wants to know is, what did you do when it said that? did you try to enter another word as a guess? or did you not bother bc you knew you were really done?
(sorry to be a buttinski, doc)
I didnt try to enter any more words because i Knew i had finished so i came back to old site which showed me i had
i am kind of thinking that if it happens again today, cait, doc will want you to try entering a word, or a fake word, and let him know what happens when you do that
Yes. Please let me know if it happens again.
Okay thanks Dr God and hurshy,I will switch back to new site and have a look !
Is anyone else on the beta site using Explorer right now?
Yes
Yes
me too
ditto
Explorer users- When you click on the "Who's Online" tab and then click back to the Chatterbox, does the chat log lose its scroll bar and grown abnormally long?
yes
Indeed
yes
Ugh...
Yes
But it isn't abnormally long. Just without it's scroll bar
yup
Same thing when I go to "My Friends" as well, obviously.
ma 6's between the horse ma and the algebra ma?
the scroll took a few a seconds to pop back in
ma 6/21 - add the more of ending to the ma 4/5 before it
ma 6/21 - spell like a dark red color, leave off one of the double cons
The scroll bar is now nearly the whole length of the chat log!
How does one play the beta game please? I'm on IE
I'm sorry, leave off one of the double loops, not cons
Im trying the beta site again
Okay, I'm going now. 59 words to go. BBL.
ma6/21 is another word for chestnut
Bye leigh
Bye!
bye leigh
bye leigh :)
fixed the blippy thing. you have to "install" firefox 1.5 not just "download. but now all the pretty colors are gone. sigh
LOL smaller
smaller, hey!
brb
hurshy,
oops enter problem again!! LOLOLOL HEY CHIC!!
how are you doing, smaller?
we want a button, we want a button (everyone chant with me)
flummoxed by the newness but i here change in routine delays alzheimers
again the enter thing. oops. and chic, how are you?!
How does one play the beta game please? I'm on IE. Also, if you install Firefox do you lose Explorer?
I'm fine, just struggling along with the best of the them...
what button, hurshy?
boysaway, no, you can have both (and netscape too if you like!) beta.playbabble.com
why do all the icons not show on my screen?
a button to enter the chat so that it doesn't just go when you hit enter, causing messages to be cut short or words to be accidentally posted in the log
Thanks Hurshy
rosalind - because we're in a transitional phase :)
Whats happening then
ok I like that, hurshy your transporter is on reg. babble and your logo icon on this one?
chic,
doc g is making changes to the site, beta testing it now, and in a bit, it will become the regular site. if you want to try it out go to beta.playbabble.com
lololol
I better get, back tomorrow. ya'll have a grand ol day!
i should just not chat. i have major enter issues
go to IM, smaller
chic - i think that different people see different ones of my old icons on the beta site - some see that, someone saw the zipper i think
bye bunny!!!
Bye bunny I may have got to grips with this new site next time i catch you
i can't go to the beta site to do anything about it - firewall
it's a bit twilight zonish!
doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
!!! booer isn't a word??
I agree chic and as im rubbish at computers its hard going !!! HIC I need a drink HIC !!!!!!!!
You get real fireworks now!!!
NICE
Oh, and I'm done!
I'm hearing that in my head, Hursh!
that was the point, chic :)
I thought the same thing, hurshy...cause in the Princess Bride credits, the old lady who lectures the princess is called 'Booer'
hurshy Or mooer as in cow
Well done knutmeg
yes, someone who boos should be a booer (esp since we have co5!!!)
good job knutmeg
"filth! rubbish! booo! booooooo!"
Hiss Hiss
er
i am done!! hoorag1!!!!!
dr_god, if you're still around, I'm *lovin'* the new look
oops!
Thanks
but we need a chat entering button :)
Good job jaianniah
Thanlk You! It's soooo nice to be HOME!!!!!!!! Even if it is in a hosp[ital bed! Hooray!!!
Im starting to get used to it Dr God but its hard for an old dog to learn new tricks !!!
(hurshy's pleas continue to fall on deaf ears...)
oh, jainnaiah, i'm sorry, i must have missed some earlier days of chat - are you ill? did you have surgery?
:)
Dr_God, great new look- so MUCH better! Not so much scrolling!
it's one thing in sudoku, but here PEOPLE ARE POSTING WORDS by accident!!!!
whats this new site youre talking about?
*hurshy buys doc a very powerful hearing aid*
hurshy- If by "people" you mean helen, then I agree. ;)
LOTS of people. and we like to be able to have separate lines. like this.
Hursh, after my surgery., I almost got hit by a Dodge Ram Pickup and got run off the road...spent eight days in hospital- have fluid around the surgical site in spine.,.....
oh DEAR, poor jainnaiah!!!! *gentle hug*
You can have separate line. Just hold down Shift when you hit Enter.
Cool
babbler agrees with me, doc :) :) :) in fact i think everyone who has commented has wished for a button except evanonut
Doc
It din't work for me!!!
Hello, All...I see Dr_God is dropping by his creation...
shift enter - i think i have maybe done that by accident in sudoku chat in the past!
Just seeing what the issue is with the chat log.
cooldoc
I cant get to the new site why?
Oh I see Cool
hello all....love the new site....
still the posting of words is a SEVERE detriment to the game
i agree
baggo - people have been missing you!
I believe one of the words is the title to a classic science fiction movie...
what new site????
Hi baggo
i've been missing you guys too...it's that new job...
beta.playbabble.com, rolin
nope now I get it!!!!
hurshy- People will get used to the new site, and it won't happen anymore.
I've lost the scroll bar again...
the emergency room is not very easy to chat in like the with the babies
I LOVE the fireworks!
ok doc, but if they don't and it keeps happening, then can we have a button? :)
and there's no time to babble, cept on paper...then i usually am so tire that i forget to put them it
It would be cool if you could switch the functions of the switchPLUSenter with the enter--then people would have to mean to send in the chat?
ah, book the wise
Hi, hurshy! book, playing with the enter key i mean, the shift/enter
Dr. God, do you know that I have the Tile stats and word stats now (me, a lowly unsubscribed)?
hi book - your idea may be just the compromise doc and i needed :) :) (although doc is israel and i am palestine...only without terrorists...)
The stats will be free while the beta site is running
"doc, what do you think of book's idea?", pleads the powerless palestine
Cool, it gives me a glimpse of what others have. OF course, I'm still trying to decide if I like them/can get used to them. Maybe it would be good advertising to offer them free for a day once in a while...
blech is in the grid, but not accepted...
Dr. God--Love the changes. My only problem has been w/ the script that's running the word list. The stats are correct for what I've entered, but the word list doesn't always display correctly. For instance, it's off by 30 words or so right now.
book's idea would solve the problem, but then no one would know how to enter a chat post.
Off by 30 words??
easy, doc, you just put instructions at the top - "Hit Shift+Enter to enter your chat"
Yep...the word list shows 94 words, but I really only have 47 left to find.
To quote Dr. God, people would get used to it! You could change the Chatterbox tab to read Chat--ShiftPLUSenter to send!
Same sort of thing that happenend to me
how do you get to the new site please
brilliant minds think alike, hurshy
I keep getting an error message about an unresponsive script (in Firefox).
new site is beta.playbabble.com
bookgrrl- Do random words not get added to the list, or does it stop working at some point?
Random words aren't add, Dr. G.
:) book - now doc is not even going to be paying attention to us though cause there is a bug to fix
Seems to be a problem if I close out of Babble and come back.
Sorry, hurshy! 8^)
Are you seeing delays when entering words, bookgrrl?
Again, the stats are right; it's just the list that's problematic.
:) 'sok bookgrrl
Nope, no delays in entering words (well, just a second or so).
Well, first things first, I suppose. We'll just have to re-nag, beg, and plead again later! %^)
That is weeeeird... :\
I still cant get to the new site help please.
i love the fact that the word list stays where you are at....so much easier than scolling up and down.... 8-) 8-) 8-)
rosalind, no www, just http://beta.playbabble.com
Re-loading brings up the same issue...
http://beta.playbabble.com/ check your typing...
book & hurshy- Your efforts would be better spent working on the puzzle. ;)
bookgrrl- Reloading doesn't fix the problem?
Dr God that is what i was trying to explain when it was happening to me
sigh
I love this version, its quicker at responding to new words added.
Caitlyn--glad I'm not the only one w/ script issues!
Master, did you not sow good seed in your field?
Dr-G - I was having the same problem as bookgrrl yesterday... it happened when I looked at Rankings, or at somebody's profile and then came back to the Babble screen...kept having to hit 'Continue' when I got the error message, and after about 10 hits it finally reloaded the whole word list...
the puzzle is easy. convincing you of perfection of bookwyrm's solution, now that's hard
I tried that for a while, sherb--I got bored after the first 4 or 5 times, though.
bookgrrl when I knew i had finished it decided to tell me I hadnt!!
I gave up and went back to the old site...
eek! that's not good, caitlyn; i didn't get close to finished yesterday though.
I have to go eat some lunch. I'll tackle all this when I get back. :)
And me
and now it won't let me change my icon....
i like the look of the new site
i think there is a problem with the rankings im sure i should be in the top 10 !!! lol
LOL M3
going to fetch the mail, brb
doc eats? i thought he was like kirk and bathrooms...
ciao, folks--grading awaits.
lol hurshy
bookgrrl, have you tried refreshing your page?
Bye bookgrrl bye all catch you tomorrow happy babbling
any clues been given for the ai9?
boysaway--ai5+ word for a piece of skeleton
ah yea, boysaway... but I'm not talking! :D (if you scroll through the log you will definitely see it)
Thanks benda - what the devil does that mean?
thanks hurshy got there in the end How do I enter a on the chat log on the new site? sorry tosound dumb
i looked it up, it's part of a cow's skelton
i think it's a term used by butchers?
ch1212, did you enter it in the log by mistake then? lol
it's archaic english for rear end piece, as we all learned earlier today
There there Ch1212, everyone has a little hic up from time to time :)
ha! if only doc were here to see that! you hit enter, rosalind
thanks, fmitch ... I still feel pretty sheepish about it.
Thanks again Hurshy I went to the old site to enter
((ch1212)) but you did do it with style :)
ch1212, we've all done it so far, i think...i couldn't stop doing it yesterday
awww ((( fmitch )))
has anyone gotten br6/30?? I have one, but not the other. HINTS??!
girlfriend, take one of your double vowels out and add another at the end
br6/30, one is another word for pin, the other is like eggy french bread minus a vowel
thanks ch1212..helps a lot!! got it now!
signing of for now. back later to finish.
Haven't they ever heard of Brer Rabbit?
leaving for now. back later to finish.
leaving for now. back later to finish.
leaving for now. back later to finish.
leaving for now. back later to finish.
leaving for now. back later to finish.
rumple, we get it, see you later
"They" probably have Douglas but that would make it a porper noun. Dont you hate the enable dictionary.
We will adjust to the ENABLE dictionary...
all hail the darn thing LOL
the fireworks are defintely cool....
what does the 8 start with?
h8/55
baggo!!
he 8/55
it's a cavity through which blood dlows
does anyone have anymore hints??
one more word to go!
((((torgone)))) how are you luv?
baggo - 2 days in a row and torgone too, sooo much excitement LOL
LOL....
i know what's up with this....but i'm back to work tomorrow...hate it when that gets in the way but i love the new job
he8/55: edge of a garment + fourth vowel + anagram of Nat King ****
Heya fmitch! Another day in paradise ..
oops, sorry hurshy, i misread the he8/55s as people wanting a clue
and paradise it surely is... how are things on the west ccoast????
didn't realise ya'll were playing GWIM
GWHIM even
bendamalina, I wanted the clue, thanks!
clues are always welcome bendamalina
yw bookwyrm
one to go and I just can't get it. the first bo 5/18. help, please thanks
it's a bugger of a word
Ok, I'll fall for it. What's GWIM?
works out well, bendamalina - i never would have got that. and it wasn't GWHIM exactly, since i asked for the 8 :)
joey...think of the lawn game...
bo5//18 is a disparaging term for a german...
i thought the lawn game has a double consonent - have I been spelling it wrong?
bo+ first three letters of Bobby Fischer's game
no but remember you're playing babble and anything goes here....
It somewhat Sounds like the lawn game
bookwyrm - read my bio :)
hi everyone
GOT IT - thanks to all. I really preciate the help. done!!
first co5/16 (before the fish)???
props to joey
ok, now that I have finished I can take a br*** and ask what everyone is talking about - a new site?
oh joey, go to http://beta.playbabble.com
co 5/16 like a bricked road without a double consonant
ty, ty, (bends to waist with left arm behind and right outstretched)
Hurshy, how are you doing? I'm having trouble with Mozilla and the beta site -- I get a message that "a script on this page is causing Mozilla to run slowly" .
i'm doing fine. i'm just on the old site cause my firewall blocks the beta. i won't get to use it until it becomes the official babble. :)
thanks ch1212 - one question - is this the look of the future, or will it be the now soon?
mo 7,36 clues, anyone?
will be the now ... soon.
book..." a single bed"
mo 7 is the 4/5 right above and then add a camping bed to it.
ty ch1212.
Tx!
ok, i really wanted to get my last one without help, but I give up. Anyone have a clue for to5/12?
thanx! 7 to go!

Yay! I got fireworks!

whooo hoooo
thanks everyone!!!! who needs clues before I go make some lunch
congrats bendamalina
please tell me there's no tm today
ok hurshy. there's no tm today
phew.
I haven't been playing babble all that long but todays is soooo familiar. Do the puzzles ever repeat?
well, lynxxx, there's only 26 letters in the alphabet
don't think so, lynxxx, the puzzles are, i believe, computer generated, though presumably with some built in safeguards to make sure we get SOME vowels, so i think the odds of a repeat would be on the order of one in 20^25
although obviously the odds get better each day :)
ok, i'm going to go make a bit of lunch. see you later! (and those fireworks sure are satisfying)
I'm sure there are enough unique permutations to keep us all frustrated and crazy for years to come ..
see ya, bendamalina
what is the theme today? i just started 15 minutes ago, so i'm out of the loop today
Red bubble gum machines ..
(in case you don't have a sense of 20^25, that's about 300 nonillion. so 300000000000000000000000000000 000)
i thought the theme was forms of transportation?
I was wondering - thnx
just a ballpark on those odds, btw. :)
jk - ;0
how many words are in here today?
i'm sure there is a reason for that joke, if i could see everyone's icons... :)
300 nonillion
only 170 today
lol tor, now THAT is ridiculous, there aren't that many words in the english language.
Hi everyone, i can't get onto the new one today
Is it more than a Brazillion? I stink at math ..
it's ... a google! :D
i'm off out mow but will be back after 11pm,(UK) time to get my teeth into this one, at least its not as long as yesterday
a brazillion? you mean a brazilian? that old joke?
bye scatty
Hi Hurshy
The old joke is me ..
a googol is way more than even my 300 nonillion.
Hi, bye
well, i love ya tor :)
*blushes*
hiya everyone!
hi bex
a googol is one followed by 100 zeros
yeah for bex!
very good, bex. you get a gold star! :)
howdy bex ..
well i'm off...gotta head to work for a computer class...take care...
thanks hurshy!!!! :)
bye baggo - have fun

Just want to say thanks, Dr. G. New site looks good even in IE.

Thanks. Now if I could only solve the curse of the expanding chat log in IE
clue please for the be 6/30 x
chat log is fine for me i have IE 6.0
m3--do you want to be **** dependent on clues? (smiles)
AND switch the shift/enter enter on the chat log (but give instructions) - doc - rosalind couldn't figure out that it was enter - so it looks like you need instructions either way :)
be 6/30 add co 4/6 be**** the babble
clever, bookwyrmish :)
thanks peeps, cant belive i couldnt find it !!
bo
thank you, M3, you are helping my case! :)
(i'm going for the most annoying babbler of the mo5 award)
hmm, if there's such a thing as a trifecta, why isn't there such a thing as a fecta?
you go for it, hurshy -- I already won the 'biggest word slipper' of the month :D
*gasp* you are proving why you got it, ch1212 :)
? did I say another word? (looks frantically) no, not seeing anything...
evening all
mo5
OH ... MY ... G!!!!!!! I just saw it. Alright, that's IT! I'm not saying another word! I'm SOOO Sorry!
compare my post to yours, ch1212, and you will see...
(hunches down in front of screen, hoping no one will notice.)
back from coffee w/ my father... hi sha... everyone. I have 106 words left... [don't worry about it ch1212...]
hi stidmama, hi sha
thanks, stidmama. What's really unbelievable is that was the word I happened to be looking for. Ah well. okay, let it go... (talking to myself)
oh, and YAY tarajane!
LOLOL
oh my last one the
BO 5/18
ah! the subtleties of the human brain.... ;-) ch1212, I didn't even know I was looking for it until hurshy pointed it out. Had she not, I believe 'twould have gone unfound for quite a while longer...
I just realized I used a word a while back .. Ah well ..
The french have BO 5.18 for breakfast, but drop RI from the 2nd and 3rd place
bo5/18 - French term of disparagement for Germans. Or bo plus dairy product favoured by mice.
'morning Haz
The start of dairy product, that is.
oh fireworks thanks Haz xxxxxxx
and down to 100. this is a much nicer grid than yesterday's... (hi haz)
Hello lynxxx - how are you?
Dr_God, i think hurshy and bookwyrm are right
99 words on the wall
Hello all - I was very frustrated having been thrown off the internet with two words to go, but everything seems to be okay again.
YAY M3!
say this is strange. Does anyone else have a red banner in the midst of the chat log that says "Word couldn't be added. Contact Dr_God." ??? The time on it is 12:42
Congratulations M3 - the fireworks are fun, aren't they?
yes, that happened to me several times yesterday. I was glad because sometimes I type so fast I don't realize words haven't made it to the list!
Haz - good but tired..should not be on this early but find babble gets my mind into gear for the day. Time here is 4.45am.
did you just ignore it? I can't even recall what words I was trying to input in order to tell him, even if I knew how to tellhim
i think it was happening to me when the servers (mine and Babble's) weren't on speaking terms, it always got better after a little bit.
okey dokey
Good grief, that IS early lynxxx!
the early cat catches the early bird, right lynxxx? ;-)
delicious
okay, there is too much to do today for me to keep guessing at words. hurshy, I know i disappoint, but I am heading for the list... brb
lol, go ahead stidmama, silly :)
bhoon
Anyone want to help out with ai9,78?
ka-ching! Spiffy new upgrade here!
(staying very still)
Ummm, working on the icon now...Not exactly what I thought it would look like ;)
ai9/78 - combination word - spell out the 8th letter of the alphabet and add what skeletons are made from
Sorry, ch1212, not a site upgrade yet. Just my account!
oh good -- on my end your icon is a blank tile with a red x in the middle -- not very flattering :)
oh dear -- the dog is desperate for attention. brb (again)
see what you mean ch !!!!
basicdez ai9/78 spell the eighth letter plus the thing thast stops your leg from going floppy
thanks for the great clue Haz
you're welcome!
thanks for the clue, but I can't imagine how to spell out the 8th letter of the alpahebet
me either :)
Dr G, the word ra 4/5 appears in the grid as a 5/10
basicdez - ai plus the letter that sounds like a drink, plus the first two letters of The Prince of Wales' name
thanks bex. Now I don't feel so alone.
Or- a plus a scratchy thing
ahhhh thanks haz!! got it but never heard f it
Nor had I!
Its a joint of beef
a very tasty peice of beef
Hmmm, now it wants me to upgrade again before I can change an icon. I think I had best log out and wait a bit for the upgrade to go through?
If you can have a co5/12, why not a mo5/12???
I thought it was something that you'd scratch.
Good morning, all -- giving this new format another whirl -- hope it's working better today :)
It's one of those great imponderables, torgone.
Then I shall stop pondering it ..
Hello cybernan!
first mo5?
mo5/14 - add the beginning of standard English greeting
book- Log out and back in on the beta site
Ok, hopefully you see an icon and a profile!
okay, so I signed out and back in again, then realized Dr_God was probably not speaking to all of us. Gee, guess I haven't forgotten my vow of obedience :)
You're having quite a day of it, ch1212!
Nope -- still don't like all the flipping involved between the log (which moves too fast) and the playing field -- also still blinded by the bright colours!
I swear, Haz...
But it's been entertaining for the rest of us!
well, I don't mind being the family clown at times, but I much prefer the quiet child or hero role ;)
hello!
Hello boreetos!
everyone still like the new setup? i still do, its keen.
tare
earn
boreeeeetos, would you say you like it somethin' awful? :)
oops sorry. wrong field.
i suck.
oh dooooc
um yes, yes i would. hurshy, thanks.
hurshy - here's another idea. To prevent accidental entries in the chat log, press the button to hide the chat entry field.
Good evening, everyone!!! Here I am again with another one of my birthday icons....
Oh is it Audrey's birthday today? She was simply fabulous.
hi movieman!
Ok, Explorer users. I've solved the mystery of the growing chat log, but in doing so I've caused a few other display issues. I'm in the middle of fixing them. So if things looks funky for a bit, you'll know why.
phew! finished! love the fireworks Dr G!
hi Dr. God!
thx for the heads up, DrG
the new setup kicks ass!
we get fireworks when we finish now?!
yep!
wow, swweet!! I haven't finished in forever. I should try that at some point. :)
back again....
hi stidmama!
afte
ok... now to give betababble a workout...
that's not even a word. sorry anyway.

I have to say... it's neat :)
i will take a look.
you mean ne4?
WOW! thanks boreetos!
your welcome?
hahaha... still working backwards, so I haven't got to the N's yet... :) ...I suppose I don't need to work backwards anymore... sound of tectonic plates shifting as sherb changes her babble method...
for the beta site.... I'm all headcoldy and haven't played since Sunday.... this is COOL
There was an extra "." in boreetos URL
mmmmm....shifting techtonic plates...
Does anyone have a hint for the ae 6,24?
http://beta.playbabble.com
sorry about that dr G! good catch.
doc doc doc! are you at least CONSIDERING it?

oops, nearly posted a word there... I can see what hurshy means... gonna have to be careful...
Considering what, hurshy? Are we back to the button thing? :)
I even went pro, doc! (Adding to Hurshy's nag).
can anyone please give me a clue for the bo 5/18
i'm voting for button as well... :-) but starting to cope without it, too.
hurshy - you're relentless...
that's cause goin' pro is the coolest.
hiya ruthy!
no, you don't have to have a button if you switch the ENTER and SHIFT+ENTER as book suggested, and just put at the top "Hit SHIFT+ENTER to post your message"
hi bex hi eveyone
hi bex... hi ruthy :)
bookwyrmish! PRO-congratulations! cute monster you have there...
is there a way to just keep one word comments from being posted?
hiya sherb!
hi sherb hi sha
hi, ruthy. hi everyone! Tx stidmama. I'm working on the icon and profile thing still...
hi ruthy!
thanks, Dr. - just refreshed
that way even if we slip, which I try not to, but have twice today, there's a safety.
hi stidmama
bo 5/18, misspelled version of an italian lawn game (change one of the double letters)
piffle!
sometimes, one word just sums things up so well, and I would hate to lose that option... ;)
hi bookwyrmish ty thats me finished
really now, how can you have your cursor in the wrong box boreetos?
on the new site, but it looks a bit crowded.
Switching Enter and Shift-Enter is a veeery bad idea. As you can see, most people instinctively know to hit "Enter" to add chat messages. If I switched it to Shift-Enter, no one would figure that out instinctively. So in answer to your question, there is a 0% chance I will be making that switch. ;)
well, maybe just block one word responses that are in the grid then?
YAY ruthy!!!!
piffle? Sherb, do you read Louisa May Alcott? I haven't heard that term in ages! (love it, by the way)
piffle? Sherb, do you read Louisa May Alcott? I haven't heard that term in ages! (love it, by the way)
hi oggy
well done ruthy!!
ty all
evenin all. Personally, i like the new babble. Could you give me clues for the 2 en6's.\please n thanks
Dr G - I admire a man who knows his own mind... :)
hi ruthy
Dr._God -- we can be taught. Right now I'm working on NOT hitting enter twice in a row :)
i did that just a few minutes ago ch1212.
well, i think its fantabulous dr._g
en6 - to put a garment on someone
hi ch1212!! :) ...me too...
thanks haz
en6 - add what keeps a plant in the ground
hi nut... hi Haz... :)
ok kids, back to work for me. see you all in a few hours. Bye Dr G!
Adios
hooray thats me finished : )
wtg sha
bye boreetos... :)
yeah sha
*just realized how incapable i would be at hitting shift+enter*
bye boreetos...
and agin thanks haz
bye boreetos
Hello sherb - how are you?
roon
Are there any Explorer users that can confirm that the chat log no longer grows when you click on the "Who's Online" or "My Friends" tab?
You're welcome sandr - they were my last two words and thought I would never find them!
oops! sorry frgot to change boxes. i like buttons better
YAY sha!
it does not grow dr g
confirmed, dr_g
Dr G - it doesn't grow.
I'm enjoying a relaxing Babble this evening, Haz... yesterday was a bit of a marathon for me after work... how are you?
Excellent. Phew. That was a nasty bug to find and fix.
bye all
bye sha and well done!
I'm fine. Although the weather here is still lousy. I hear you had a lovely day today?
bye sha1 :-)
bye sha
Bye sha - well done.
thanx guys
it's been glorious today... had to go up to Coventry for a meeting, and the English countryside is just heavenly at this time of year...
i'm from coventry (rhode island)!
co 5/16 (first co word)?
co 5/16 another word for a stone
My husband was in Leicester for a couple of days, finding out even more about cattle (how much more can he learn) and he made a point of phoning to say how beautiful it was.
I expect Coventry RI is more attractive than Coventry, England,,, which has never really recovered from the Blitz...
coventry RI is quite large and spread out, the rural western half is nice, the eastern half is just your average suburb.
don't think I've ever been to Leicester, Haz... one of those places...
clue for the co 5/16 that follows Halley's?
just remembered... I'm supposed to be looking for words... how easily we forget...
did you mean 5/14 ch1212?
It was a course being held at the University - he was quite impressed with the older buildings. In true style he had imagined that there was a zoo in Leicester to visit. Turns out he was thinking of Chester Zoo. His brain is wired differently to most people!
are you sure that's a 5/16? I thought it was a 4/5 followed by a 6/21...
well, chester, leister, worchester... don't they all kinda sound similar? (they do in american english)
Actually, the only co 5's following Haley's are 12's
I cannot think of another word for stone that starts with co, any other clues?
LOL... maybe he has an auditory rep system... sounds like... Chester/Leicester...
co 5/16 is another word for a stone making paving
ahk you Hannah Lou
I just double checked on lickety's list, and I think I've gone and messed up ... again ... today ... will it NEVER end?!! (shakes head)
co5/16 has the same ending as the lordly no5/14
Thank you , thank you all -- always thought that word had a double letter!
Yes, i messed up. I already had the co 5/16 and for some reason decided there was a second one wiating attention. thanks, all.
How many words to go ch1212 - can you see light at the end of the tunnel (or fireworks)?
Since we are on the co's, any clues for co 6/21 and co 6/27???
doc, bex is experiencing a problem that she doesn't feel she can explain to you clearly. basically, she added a word, then attempted to add a word based on that ending with an r, but left the r off. it told her the word added both times, rather than saying it was already in the second time, or invalid one of the times (as it would be if she spelled it wrong). but it only appears in her list once, so that is good.
15 left, haz. Almost done. I think yesterday's wiped out the few remaining braincells :)
There are two co6/21 - one to do with the eye, the other to do with Little Jack Horner's place.
could i get a clue for the he8/55 please
co6/27 - Take the first part of a grain, and add the first letters of something that rings.
how many ce's are there?
Haz I have both of tyhose, oops forgot to enter them
There are 4 ce words
thanks haz, that's good cause i have them all :)
hehehe... I'm liking this new Babble... :)
he8/55 - The edge of a garment, the fourth vowel and an anagram of Old King ****
there is a co 6/21 in the midldle of the co's , just before the 6/27 which I also need/
sherb - I've got used to it more quickly than I had imagined. The scroll feature on the word list is good.
me too Inge
inge - boys have them
thanks haz. I am starting to rely on your excellent clue giving. If you weren't online my vocab ould be the poorer!
doc? did you catch that? did it make sense?
I'm looking forward to that Haz... haven't got enough words to scroll through yet... ;)
co6/21 - to the noise of a pigeon add an item of men's neckwear
LMAO!! now that I know what it is...the "boys have them" clue is hilarious!
he/8? help...
Glad to help sandr!
bye everyone
Rish - scroll down to 2.49 for a clue.
bye ruthy!!
bye ruthy, see you tomorrow
Bye ruthy - see you tomorrow, no doubt.
thanks daisy :)
yeah, i didn't get the old king part...
catch u all later i will be back tomorrow totally addicted
bye ruthy.
bye ruthy :)
How about Nat King ****?
he was a merry old soul, and a merry old soul was he, RISH he called for his pipe and he called for his bowl and he called for his fiddlers 3
evening everyone im almost done
ce 6/21?
evening, hannah lou!
unforgettable...
hiya stidmama
Hello hannah lou - how long has it taken you?
hiya haz it hasnt taken me long how about u ???????
any hints on the 9 ltr word?
ce 6/21 sounds like a slang term for a hundred dollar bill
Oh I'm no speed merchant like you!
lol i 36 left to find u ??????? haz
?? are you sure that's not a clue for the 7 hurshy?
and I love the fact that the 'Oops' message has gone!!!
I've finished already, hannah lou, but knowing you it'll not be long before you get those fireworks. They're great, aren't they?
any clues for the en words? -- drawing a total blank.
pk -- it start like the 8th letter of the alphabet, and ends like what dogs chew on
they r good arnt they
en5 - given as a 'laxative'
OK thanks to allof you who helped me finish the co's . Now I needbo 5/ 18 and bo 6/24. Please.
yes, stidmama, i'm sure :)
en6 - to put a garment on someone, and en6 what plants do to themselves in the soil
thanks stidmama! Will have to work that into casual converstation sometime soon. ;-)
*sigh* I was hoping it wasn't me that's dense. oh well.
bo5/18 - French term of disparagement for Germans (WW1) - add start of yellow dairy product favoured by mice
I love Ramen noodles, but Enable does not... didn't we discuss Ramen before? ...I think they may be something else in the US...
bo6/24 - footwear for a baby
when I try to log in to the Beta site it tells me my email address is wrong!!! does one have to rejoin to enter that site??
no, ramen is what college students live on over here LOL
haz - you are a smart lady, so you probably know and are just cluing conveniently, but mice don't actually particularly like that... they like peanut butter though!
Thanks Haz -- guess my mind really isn't on this grid -- feeling really frustrated over the new format -- don't like it at all and I've so enjoyed playing babble up until now.
billmster, did you join with a different email addres?
No same as this one
Hurshy - yes, I know that mice have different tastes than we imagine but used it as a convenient reference point. I can't use the mo4 reference either since it is in the grid!
cybernan, i,m not too keen on the new beta grid either.
no Sherb...they're ramen here too
hm. maybe try again? nan was having trouble yesterday... don't know what she did to figure it out, though.
Got those bo clues, though I never heard of the 5/18 one, even though I studiied European history here and in Germany. I think the Germans dont mention such things.
:) i thought you knew, haz :) i often clue for the sake of convenience myself (like saying pl when it's really a verb...)
stidmama and tndaisy - are your ramen the type that you have to reconstitute with hot water? If so, we call those Doll noodles over here... and ramen are fresh Japanese rice noodles...
tried yesterday, but will keep trying
thats me done haz
hurhsy, I am sorry I am so dense... I got all the other ce words, but this one isn't making sense to me!
the fireworks r cool
YAY hannah lou!
thanx stidmama
Unbelievable hannah lou! Well done!
Haz, I was reading back through the log today and I don't think I've ever told you that you are such a kind person, even when people mess up (like me), and you are tolerant of the foibles of all of us. You also give great clues! Thanks {{ haz }}
sigh... to7 clue please... my mind just isn't on babble today either i guess
hannah lou... you're a little firework yourself... well done!!! :)
ch1212 is right - haz is one of the nicest people in babbleland.
Wow only 4 to go. How aout br 6/30???, the second one.
he 8?
it took me nearly 2 hours on and off to complete the grid
Haz is a saint... :)
Haz the nice Haz the kind Haz the smart can read my mind...
Thank you ch1212 - that's very nice of you to say so. I'm polishing my halo as we speak......
inge, it's what women used to be fond of wearing on their lapels (some still are)
go inge go!
brooch
...and some men too :)
idiot idiot idiot i am
bad bad abe
or, as abe79 just said ... !! (thanks abe, now I don't feel so bad)
smacking self in head
*slap, slap* there, abe, feel better? ;-)
oops wrong one. I need the first br 6/30
I like this new feature where we share words... :)
:( i'm a dummy. ch1212, i am terrible. stidmama, thank you, but i need another smack
where's the rest of the chat log? i've tried rubbing my tummy and patting my head but i still can't scroll back to earlier in the day. hop on one foot? cross my eyes? any thoughts?
This is better than television......
lol abe!
off for lunch -- back for the he 8 later!
no, abe79 -- mine was a much bigger doozy than yours, and everyone has been very sweet. Hugs for abe79 {{ }}
my chat log is apparently the same as my "add word" list
*SMACK* and a {{{there there}}} abe...
should be a button in top right above chat log
hi smaller :) ...try the 'View Entire Chat Log' button... :)
thanks ch1212 and stidmama
hurshy i agree i like buttons
to7 clue, please?
Angelsong put the view entire chat in another tab in firefox and that worked well for her.
hurshy, think of the horrible ones in HP, and change the ending a bit
hurshy - to7 sounds like someone who teases... :)
to7/32 - add the beginning of a word to do with brain activity
to+me5/12
hi sherb! nope nuttin there. invisible ink? is it in english?
smalls! howdyado?
okay, scratch that clue, hurshy... the de*******s in HP liked to to***** people, now change the ending slightly of that second word. Is that convoluted enough?
Or just look at oggy's clue :)
I've got a little button in the top right hand corner above the chat log...
I'm being quiet now.
got it, thanks all... and ch, it's ok, i would have got it from your first clue cause i knew it was to7! :)
lol ch1212!! hi firefly!!
;)
I got it (finally) the -- to 7, that is. still looking for that ce 6 *idea* brb
doc, a little birdie told me you're back online, and i wondered if you saw my post about bex's problem at 2:46?
thanks oggy!
i got it, hurshy. *my brain hurts* so does my ar4, going to take a garden break. LOL back in a few
hurshy- I just checked out the message. I don't know what to make of that, so I'm just going to pretend it never happened, since the word was only added to the list once. :)
lol stid!!!
am really struggling with 9 left to find? is it just me, or is it a long hard slog tonight!
okie dokie :)
sandr, I've 9 left too, and I agree. clue for ho 7/32 that follows the instrument please anyone?
I also am missing re 5/10.
perhaps getting the to7/32 would be easier if i actually had the me5/12. anyone want to give me an assist?
inge, probably to jog again fast
Dr G - the design is great... I wouldn't change a thing... good work... :)
misshoax, are you a fan of Dune? the Me**** assisted, less the last letter
ch1212 - i think u might be looking for the same nine words as me - i need that ine too!
That was it ch1212. thanks
got it. nevermind. thanks anyway.
ho7 - like a flood but change first letter
I'd make the chatterbox bigger.... :D:D:D:D:D
me-adult boys and breast and bottom abbreviation
please please please please
got it hurshy! thanks
still missing the BR 6/30, not the one you pin on your coat.
oh MY smaller
thanks hurshy
darn misshoax, i was quite proud of my clue
hi Babs !! :)
ho7 is ho+small hook letter + when u lease something u pay r...
hurshy, but it worked, huh!
hi Sherb! : )
inge - try something that could be a homonym of the one you have (but prob isn't really)
thanks oggy! :)
i don't know...i had that word already... i am not sure whether i would have figured it out if i didn't know what it was
could i get a clue for the ec7/32 and the ce 6/21 please
wxcellent clue Hurshy
I have ironing to do, so will say goodnight all and happy hunting!
nite Haz... see you soon :)
Thanks for all your help, haz... I'm going to take a mental break. bbl
goodnight Haz the Nice
last word! mo 5/14, right after the single bed word
nite haz! thanks for the great clues and fun!
NOBODY GIVE INGE THAT CLUE
I will report you to Dr. G Hurshy!!!!
sandr... ec7/32 is something like a transitional area...
inge trust the hursh, you don't want a clue for that, esp if it's your last word, you will feel too fishy!
hurshy only tries to protect people for their own sake
ec7 is ec+at5/10 but change the a for the fourth vowel
Ok Ill find it myself, if it is taht easy. Will take me hours.....
it's a very normal word inge, and you'll feel so much better that way :)
thanks oggy
ce6 is ce+ another word for paper money.
and again oggy - thanks lovely clues
I found it. Please a moment of silence for my fireworks
yeah inge!!!
well done inge!
Then my computer got stuck alotgether while fireworks were going. Wow.
yay inge!
thanks oggy!
now, inge, are you glad i didn't let anyone give you a clue?
any clues for the third ta4/4 and the to5/12?
Now whom may i help???
congrats inge!
mo5/14 think march, april, may
to 5: to + male
phew, good thing oggy was a little slow with that one.
mo 7/36 pls and ty my brain is tired
overseas transmission is slow
inge, inge - did i do the right thing??? it is what i would want someone to do for me...
down to my final 2 - help with the om6/21 pleaes
Of course you did the rigth thing Hurshy. Dont ever get a bad conscience for something you do in play.
well people always seem mad at me when i do that
never mind just got it now for the final word................
o+ me 5/12
thanks inge. that me5/12 seems to be getting a lot of mileage
Hi all! my stats are working today- yay. I won't have to refresh to see those lovely gray boxes. And maybe, just maybe, I'll get to see the fireworks as well.
mo 7/36 sounds like single bed, its actually a type of plant leaf
hurshy, are u saying dont give clues to players final words.
only if they are fishy words, oggy. if it was he8, no problem. but easy words - i just think people will feel annoyed with themselves afterwards if they find out their last word was something they could have gotten themselves
please dont say that - i'm stuck on the ma6/21 (i have the one to make bad) please help\me
i think it is more honorable to discover your last word yourself, especially when it is as common as mine was. Some players may not own up to the fact that it is their last word, though.
change the last two letters, sandr, to a preposition
personally, I only ask for a clue of I really need one... in which case I'm grateful for the responses, even if it's an obvious word...
well here is my thought - if i stop people from giving a clue, and then the person says i don't mind if it's fishy, i want it anyway, then fine. but at least i will save the people who want saving. :)
i dont know what a prepsoition is. Also re the clueing - i think if you stuck your stuck (and i'm often stuck!) any help is always gratefully recieved - specially by me
it's only a game...
i just know if my last word had been inge's mo, i would actually have been mad at anyone who gave me a clue instead of saying, no hurshy, that is easy, find it yourself
I ask for clues only when I havent figured out the word on at least two passes. I agree with hurshy, since she advises yuo taht it is an easy word.
amen to that, sherb!
thanks smaler!!! :)
i mean, you know, not like hate-you-forever-mad, but, i'd wish you hadn't done it. sandr - sorry - it's the opposite of off.
thanks hursy - finally got it and i am done
don't worry peeps, i mean all this much more light-heartedly than it probably sounds.
thanks hursy - finally got it and i am done
hey bex! haven't see you in ages!! ok...well like 2 days. but that's awhile
im not brilliant at giving clues anyway and only do it if i can.
I think I will now tend to my laundry. will check back later. shoot! Sandr doesnt get fireworks from DR G
very long!!! :) so how are u?
YAY sandr!
woohoo for sandr!! oh oggy you are a terrific cluer!
clues anyone?
clues anyone?
congrats sandr :)
Just back on the me and i find I've misse d whatever great clues there were to the notorious me5/12. Help, lease
oh -- and YAY inge!
bex, i run 23.5 miles on sunday in prep for a marathon in june. i'm quite nervous.
well done sandr
very good!!!! how long is your marathon? 23.5?
still dont understadn why everybody in the WHO's ONLINe list gets Add on friends beside their name except me. What did I miss to do???
oh yes, in all the controversy i think i forgot to say HOORAY FOR YOU INGE!!! :) :) :)
me 5/12 is mad minus the last letter
becasue you cant be your own friend
inge - you don't need to add yourself as a friend... but you have 'Add as a Friend' on my list... :)
??? inge -- it doesn't allow you to add yourself as a friend of yours... *but I added you already to my list*
no a marathon is 26.2.
When yu scroll down the list of Who
it is here but thought it might be diferent in america
s Online does it show ADD on Friends? Not next to mine
good luck for Sunday, smaller... I admire your endurance... :)
Right. It knows that you are yourself... so it doesn't put the "add to friends" next to your name. did that make any sense?
thanks sherb!!
can someone please give me the link to the new site- do I need to change my bookmark?
Is this the panel for adding things? If not how does one!!
And yes, it shows "add to friends" next to your name on my screen. :-)
beta.playbabble.com
*adding what things, billmster*
Ok Ive got it Clot!!!!
I must be the one who is insane. How can I get from ma to the third letter?
What do I do? I put names next to my name of people I know well, or like . Oh, Stidmama, so your own name on YOUR list shows a blank as well?
Remarks You see I got here was using wrong password
hetty -- you are looking for an "me" word. Have you seen Harry Potter? Ron is always saying people are me**** -- just take off the last consonant on that word.
YES, inge, that's right!
me 5/12 = me+anagram of tan
O'K', so it's me, not ma, but I still can't get to an I from there
Oh I feel like one of the gang now! Bye
hetty, try this: opposite of "ladies" + what the UK members abbreviate for "thank you"
bye inge! see you tomorrow!
kimber, did you find us?
last call for clues as i'm about to head for bed
silly me! I see you in the "who's online" box now! hi there!
Hurray, got it, thanks Stid. I don't read Harry Potter. Have a old-fashioned rooted objection to the kind of language the books seem to use, of which this term for "insane" is an example
ce 6/21 please
ce+musical expression
:-) hetty -- I just assumed that's how they still talk in the UK islands! LOL
gracias, sandr :)
still? harry potter is set present day. hetty is saying SHE is old-fashioned - not the books. :)
you r very welcome
I am lost on the ch 6. hurshy? want to confusle me again?
right i am leaving you luvvies. Yep we still say ta as a thanks and on that, ta and goodnight. Happy babbling - babblers
me**** is a very current term...
good night, sandr! TA to you as well!
first i will give you 5 points, and seek this word.
ch6= menial task+first vowel
LOL TA Hurshy-san!
nite sandr... and ta is a good old word... :)
sandr! thanks! I even know what that means... :-)
Thanks, hursh, you have understood my self-deprecation. You now, I really mind having misseso much valuable chat while being the island librarian and it leads me to fume a little about the fact that on this new site one cannot scroll back to the past 3 hours of chat. Or can one? How?
nite sandr!
oh, let's not get into that -san thing again...
hetty - there is a button to view the whole log in the top right corner above the chatterbox
it is my humble opinion that words consisting of all consonants ought to be shot.
did we ever hear any more about LemonEd?
i agree
stid - how many points is the ch6?
24, hurshy... sandr gave a good clue at 3:55
Thanks, hursh ! So that's what that button is! It's almost as hard to read as my latest pic of self and dog--which I promise to change once I've earned my fireworks.
no idea, sherb
ahhh... the one post i didn't catch :)
it was interesting what happened with Lemoned and Miyavi... Miyavi seems like a different person since her return...
i haven't seen her very much since she came back.
smaller!!!!!!!
Have the icons shrunk even more, or am I hallucinating. Hi all.
hi mab! :)
hi hurshy!
no mab, they have shrunk... reminded me I need to go for an eye test...
hey nut!!!
i'm not kidding guys - a helicopter just landed in a yard at the end of my street!
cliffopa, wow!!!
I forgot all about the word with no vowels - how soon the mind fades!!
is the president visiting you again, cliff?
im off see u all 2morrow.
oh oh -- they're after us! LOL
what's going on, cliff?
Oh yes, me too (makes mental note). There's no point in posting an image - we might as well just post solid blocks of color.
bye oggy! have a nice evening!
nite oggy! thanks for the help!
bye oggy! :)
How thrilling, cliff.
i'll share my shadow with folks if you like! LOL
cool cliffy! life flight tends to land here yearly, bit annoying at times, what with rubberneckers and all.
its a little 2 seater sized copter. someone is building a new house (pretty big) down there - maybe its the owner.
hmmm novoh rishe show-off! sorry, eating too much chocolate to enunciate
anyone up for GWHIM? or not?
bexs how you doing? I haven't been on at the same time as you for ages :)
do you have both oc 6? I have neither...
i have one - 5 points stidmama!
where I use to live the only helicopters we saw were chasing joy riders, it must me nice to see them for other reasons......live somewhere much quieter now!
Hi all back from my meetings and ready to play
Hi all back from my meetings and ready to play
oc5 (a color) + vowel
hi snowyowl
im fine thanks katie. :)
how are u?
fait
other oc6 - starts like other, but ends with first number
hi stidmama I've still got 77 to find!
Good thanks. Mari is on holiday but I know she chats to you. She will be back next week....by the way you said a word!!!
Stid, I have one of them, and it's an archaic curse word rhyming with "moan" or "trombone", a G&S famously have it . Try starting off all Scottish and then adding a mournful tone
we get large national guard copters once a week when they are training. nearly shakes the house apart. no joyriders here katie!
O'K', so what's the other? Not in G&S fear.
i have 58 left, but it takes me for ever to figure out the clues...
ooh, that would be cool ---- CLIFFFYYIIEEE ---- you're baby is still looking beautiful.
great clue hetty
i got one of them... progress is GOOD
Hursh, please, How do I proceed after my scottish ejaculation for the other oc6?
which do you have, hetty - the one that starts like the 5?
nutty buddy, my baby is soooooo adorable. i can't stop kissing him!
hetty -- the color is a muddy yellow-brown, add the first vowel to the end....
the five is a color
yippee down to fifty-five words...
hursh is off her game today i think :)
LOl Stidmama - I know the feeling have had a busy day & didn't sleep until 3.45am this morning & have run a rainbow meeting and then one for all the adult guiders from 5.15 pm - got home at 8.30, ate & here I am - exhausted!
Thanks, I have the colour, and I have the one I just clued (thanks to G& S ) as ****** ******, what a dismal moan...like an old gramophone. . .
blech is so a word
ok hetty, so add a vowel to the end of the color
om 6/21 clue please and thank-you
Sid, Ive just seen the rest of your clue, Ta. I always get carried away b y reembered snatches of old songs. Now I have it.
Movieman has returned!!! I was just elsewhere....(browsing Amazon actually).....
yay, hi CHS!
Hi movieman -- anything good upcoming on DVD?
phantom words are a pain - laborer/foment/comment....
you said it, firefly@
om6/21: om4/5+ first two letters of a snooty goodbye (**-** for now)
Ok. A color. That's my icon.
and my nemesis "aten" - i just don't understand why i keep thinking it's a word, but I try it every time it's there :O
thank-you, bendamalina -- that goodbye is showing up as ending to several words today!
Well, ch, the UK is finally getting a special edition boxset of all the "Fly" movies (I've already pre-ordered that one, as well as the 2-disc special edition of the first Mission: Impossible movie)......
By "Fly" movies are you talking about the Jeff Goldblum remake and the original?
well goodnight everyone!
night bex - sleep well.
good night bex
night bex! :)
good night, bex!
ch - them and all the sequels to the original AND the sequel to the remake.....
lol hurshy :)
night bex
indeed ch, i had no idea it was so popular. the only common word i could think of with that ending had to do with losing ones' mind
'Night, bexy....
Night bex. Sweet dreams.
nite bex :)
cool. I would enjoy the MI I set too -- I was one of the few who really liked the first one better than II. The reviews on III are pretty good I hear.
hi & bye bex
Indeed, ch, in fact I went to see M:I 3 with punster today, along with "Slither".....
anyone have a clue for the first mo 5/14?
i'm just back from cleaning my bathroom (today was floors and baseboards), but I never logged out, so if anyone needs clues...
"Slither" I hear is a delightfully wicked satire on the old 1950's sci-fi movies ... what say you, our resident critic?
mo5/14: there are 12 of them in a year
abe - like a place you stay when travelling but change middle letter to the first letter of the other (rhyming!) place you stay when travelling
And I thought both films were pretty good, and if you happen to catch "Slither", be sure to stay until the end of the end credits to see an extra scene....
I've saw the trailer to slither and wasn't sure it was my thing
bendamalina, thanks for asking! I just got to 48, would like to pare it down to 45 before I go dig up more weeds and switch the laundry.. the first three mo words, please?
thanks hurshy, what a strange word...thanks bendamalina too
Thanks for the tip, mm
can't blame ya cliffy!
yw, ch....
oh -- got the first one, hurshy! that's when you stay where there are bedbugs, I think!
*lola peeks into chat log*
lol
oh...i'm dense...i can't read my own list to see which is first and which is second.
hellola
Hello Lola! Nice to finally be on with you again!
LOLY!!! where have you been?
Katie W - Are the folks away ???
hi lola!
Lola!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How are you?
lola... hi!! :)
Punster - nice to hear from you again, especially after another interesting cinema trip!!!!
did some TV show in the UK just finish or something? you're coming out of the woodwork!
Hursh, just made a wee foray into the former site (inadvertantly--whenever I refresh through lickety I'm always zapped back into the original window...why, Dr. God?) and there I see a spanking new non-logos icon. Strange.
my little 1 pound kitten is currently terrorizing my 17 pound himalayan. what a riot!
Hey punster! How've you been?? : ) Hursh! You been good while I was away?? ; )
hetty -- the why is because Lickety's link goes to the old site, not this one... :-)
yes, hetty - that is my "forms of transportation" icon - i can't access the beta site - firewall - so it just shows one of my old icons i guess
lol cliff - dontcha love it? my boys are set to go to the vet next month.
hmmm... lola... define 'good', and tell me if you have reason to think i wasn't.
Snowy!!!!!!! {{{snowy}}} Good thanks, and you? : )
stidmama I've been watching house which has just finished.
I'm fine thanks Lola -hows the littlie? & where have you been!
Well, I live and learn. There's no end to it, is there? Thank you, all my teachers
nut, i'm going to email you a pic of the two new 'friends'
...and hi everyone else! Big changes while I've been away! Snowy, I've been visiting Anj : )
Been pretty good, Lola - you might have noticed, I've finally got a perfect score in the Who's Hot rankings
go for it cliffy! still have my email?
woowoo
Lola, you think you might be at the Babble Moot?
fireworks!!
Did you have a good time& how is he, have missed him when I've had tome to get here - which hasn't been a lot recently.
hursh, I'm sure you've been very good. But tell me, did ya miss me somethin' awful?? ; )
I got the mo words now, bendamalina -- a combination of monkeytyping and botanical knowledge...
indeed i did, and boreeeetos likes the new beta site somethin' awful, as well!
loly, care to pop onto IM?
Woot! Go punster! : D
Lola!!!!!! ((((((()))))))))))))))) I've missed you somethin' awful! (did it do that right, hursh?)
Tell, tell, Lola!
monkeytyping?
perfect, mab!
Punster...babble moot? (feel like I've been gone a month, not a week!)
brain is fried tonite, want to get the 9 word read back and saw ai plus what you throw a puppy,,,can't get it still help please
Our first convention! Check Babbler's Bio for exact details
{{{{{{{{{{{mab}}}}}}}}}}}} tell what??
I'm guessing you've got fireworks cause you finished, so congratulations abe!
monkeytyping is when you type letters just to see if they are a word - cause a monkey could do it!
speed its how you say h + what your skeleton is made of
what happened on your visit, of course, lola!
speedfreak, a phonetic way to spell the 8th letter, + this old man, he played .... with a mumble mumble give a dog a b***...
Big changes, Lola. Unless you'd rather keep some semblance of privacy, which would be completely understandable.
hursh, I have to re-install aim...computer had a hissy fit and had to be wiped! : /
oh -- down to 44, up to do a few more minutes of housework... bbl
I usually get about 1/3 of the words without the list, then use the list and mathematics and monkeytyping to get the other 2/3
(mab i think she meant big changes in babble - the beta and all) lola - nasty wasty computer
bye stidmama. i'll bbl too
bendamalina- me too! lol
good word...monkeytyping...
Oh, babble....
Ouch! Lola I know what you went through, my own computer's hard drive corrupted and I lost everything :(
So punster, me old mucker, how many words do you need at the mo.....
nut, email on its way. i forgot to attach the pic to the 1st one, so just go to the 2nd one you get from me.
i usually get about 1/3 of the words...;-)
Hi Gang :)
hi faerie
Buddy, I only just got on so don't have a good word list yet
Hi Faerie
hi faerie :)
cliffy, would that be to the crap one or evanonut one?
lol nut! hi faireieiieiaiakae!!

So. What are the changes?
hi faerie!! :)
evanonut email
hey smallllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrr
Aw, cliffy, he's simply precious (got out my microscope to view).
I mean, Hi, everyone!
*scampers off to look at cute kitty pics*
harp - beta.playbabble.com
mab...LOL! I meant on the babble site! Okay, Anj is good (it's his birthday tomorrow, btw!) and so is tbear (whom I saw over the weekend). AND...I went to another country last week! Okay...so it was Wales. But STILL!!! : D
So, how come a dove can be a co5/12, but a cow can't be a "mooer"?
How is everyone doing with the new Babble? I kinda like it myself :)
yeah mab, these icons are tiny
hi harpjane
I like it too, faerie... Dr G did good work... :)
AND a ghost can't be a booer (or a dissatisfied movieman)
That's lovely, Lola. I do miss Anj and Tbear terribly.
Never mind, punster, I'm sure you'll catch up with me soon.....
Lola where id you go in Wales -it IS another country -I'm offto Bath tomorrow - thats another country for me LOL allbeit 2 hours away!
punster, the worst was all the music I lost on my iTunes...aaargh! Dunno about the convention yet, are you going?
cool fireworks... :)
Sherb - looks like he has worked his butt off. Had a few bugs earlier before I took off but things seem to be better now.
Lucky snowy - Bath, how I'd love to go there. Or Wales - I've been to neither.
cliffy - that is hilarious!!!
should I check it out now or finish on the old site, since I already started the current puzzle?
Well, i seriously contest the omission of ramen from the enabler dictionary
the words will go with you, harp
Harp - jump on over here. Your words will follow.
I'm considering it, but I don't know London at all, and am unsure whether I could find the rest of you if I did come :}
time for beddy byes for me... nite all :)
Bye the way, snowy, you so richly deserve a spa town weekend considering all the work you do.
night sherb.
I'm staying in Newport next weekend for the football, but although it's wales there will be 65,000 english people so I don't know if it counts :)
Night Sherb :)
Night sherb. Sleep well.
snowy, just over the bridge and to chepstow castle...but it was my FIRST time in Wales! (very excited lola...can you tell?? lol) I love Bath! The shops are great and the city is just so lovely (except for the bit by the railway station)
'Night, sherby....
Bath is lovely mab. My 2 sisters and i are taking my mum. Just for Sat & Sun as she is tied up with her sister who is unwell at the mo.
might just watch a bit of the local election coverage... it's payback time... nite all :)
I'm also thinking about it but concerned about getting lost, I only know my normal places in London
Oh, that will be nice.
nut, i just sent you a blurry but funny one and the cute one of brady sleeping on my hubby's neck
okay *runs off again*
aww punster, we'd find you! Would you catch the train?
I'm also considering going to the convention, but, like punster, I don't really know London that well, cosidering I've only ever been there twice.....
I'm going to try to check out Nandos in Bath - Dachef says he knows the manger ther well. Dachef is coming to work in Swansea for Nandos in the Autumn so we''ll maybe see him then
should we all meet up at a train or tube station, working on the principle that at least we would be able to find them?
Okay. Here I am in the new babble land. trouble is, now I have to go back to work!
I'm big on info and stuff, Movieman, Punster. I'll help. And make sure you get home ok too. Lola - you gotta come! Please please please please
snowy, I keep meaning to go to the nandos in bristol! We always walk straight past it on the way to see tbear : )
Oh do! That would be so much fun, katiew.
Of course! I'd get it in Cambridge and get into King's Cross an hour later. My only problem is where to go from there :)
harpjane, you won't let that stop you when the addiction really kicks in :)
cliffy - i adore the one of him on your hubbies neck! how cute. (both of them of course) it makes me want another kitty!
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/ Movieman/Punster, transport for London site. Journey planner is excellent
And I could go with punster, seeing as we may as well be joined at the hip....
I go into Kingscross as well (or the train station next to it which I can't spell!!) We could meet up and then get the tube
woo hooo!!! :D:D:D
Me to, nut.
too
I haven't been to the new site yet! Nice!
how may do you have nut? are they kittens or cats?
Aaarrrgghhh! Now that's a TERRIFYING thought! lol
i have two cliff - both 5 year tabbies. hang on and i'll send you a pic
Katie!! woo hoooooo!! :D:D:D *adds names frantically to list*
Hey babs! I'll work on it ; ) Punster, so would I and the Peterborough train must go through Cambridge? You , me and movieman could get lost in London together, LOL! : D
How is tbear Lola/ the convention sounds such fun but I'll be thinking of you all- please post some photos on Babbklers afterwards so we can jopin you by proxy!
*holding on*
mo7/36... is there anything that would make this seem clearer?
Lola - sounds GOOD!!!!!!
God this is frightening - I live in Corby, we are all really quite near each other
Snowy - FMitch asked me to take pics too. I'm taking my camera! : D
okay cliffy , i 've never sent pictures this way before, lemme know if they arrive alright.
mo7/36: mo4/5 + a folding up temporary bed
not a futon!
i thank you!
Sound's like a plan! I will tell you a definite answer when we've gotten a little closer to the date, but for now I would like that very much Lola!
Snowy, the party won't be the same without you! I'll come get you too! ; )
no pics attached to the email nut :(
Great babbler!!! P'rhaps you should print a babble grid & photograph it at all the sights! Though I don't suppose you'll do much sightseeing! LOL
oh alright - lemme go about it the hard way then!
Anyone care to clue me up with the 8?
punster, you lot HAVE to see the irony in wanting to catch a train to London with a south african, lol! : D
LOL!! that's a brilliant idea!! Well, it just so happens, Bobsta said he might bring his laptop! LOL !! :D
I'd have to bring 5 littlies and numerous bags LOla! LOL the pub wouldn't be much fun! Maybe the next one
Lola, I might drive to Peterborough then and get the train from there, it's either that or Kettering it depends on my need to have a drink :)
okay, this is weird cliffy - but i can't get your email address from my email - and i need to put it in somewhere else. you're going to have to email me with your address in the email. my internet server is testing a new email system today.
will do nut
tx babe
All this babble about a get-togethre in the U.K. is making me very homesick, I'll have you know. Do you Brits have an ex-patriate affiliate?
katie, I know corby is sort of SW of peterborough, but not sure where kettering is?
Hetty where are you in Canada, Mari Mr Mari & I are all coming to Vancouver in September we could do one there!
We're one world in babbleland Hetty - one family - its why I'm a guide Leader Girl Guiding is one family too. I like big families!
Kettering on the A14 before Northampton about 7 miles from Corby (we don't have a train station in Corby yet)
katie, is there a london train from kettering or would you have to get to p'borough and onto that route? Very new to this whole train catching business, but I have made it to bristol and back a few times (by myself!) : )
okay cliffie, they're on the way. don't know how fast that program delivers though
Katie W I live on the biggest of the Gulf Islands, a heavenly 90 minute ferry ride from Vancouver. Why don't you pop over for a weekend? I love large families (and I also was a girl guide, and a Ranger,in my time)
Lola, no it's a different route so it's either one or the other. I can get a bus to kettering but would have to drive to Peterborough. I go to London with work quite alot so know where offices and conference centres are but have no idea on pubs!!
That sounds lovely, hetty.
Hetty that would be really good. We'll sort something out nearer the time but it would be lovely to meet up :)
We are sendin a girl from our area to an International camp in Canada this summer Hetty. She is very excited. We're also losing one of our brownies to Canada in june. Her family is emigrating. They have already found a contact number for her to join out there.
Hello All. Does anyone have the TO5/12 or the TO7/32?
I went out to Canada for Christmas and had a fantastic time, it was my first Christmas on my own and everyone made me so welcome I didn't have time to dwell on the past. I can't recommend Canada enough. If I was ever to emigrate anywhere it would be to there.
hurshy??
so, mab, you come too. But Snowyowl, Canada is a BIG country. Bigger than the U.S, in fact. Yor visitor to Canada will probably go to the East. Where is your emigrant family going to be, do you know?
Minski just figured out to 7/32, Sounds a lot like the T in BLT
anyone have a clue for the co6/27?
hi lola - been sudokuing
Munner, don't know if it's the wine or the clue but got it first time ty :)
Hey you bunhca Nyquil winos. How many words today?
minski - to5 formal def.
A gold coin formerly used in Persia worth 10,000 dinars
Not Sure Hetty I must get all the details for both of them. The coincidence is that our Brown Owl has a niece who is a guider in australia and she is going to the same camp as our Sara! Such a small world!
schwer 170
Thanks Munner. Got it.
You're a catch, katieW. Thanks.
And we are going to visit our youngest and family in Australia for Christmas--Fremantle, actually. It will be our fourth Christmas there in twelve years.
hursh, what were the 4 numbers on the end of my aim name?
9676
I feel so stupid. I still can't find the TO5/12. It is just after the 1st TO4/4.
hey cliffy, if you'd had yahoo messenger, i'd have got to show you those pics ages ago.
thanks, just trying to get aim back, I'll let you know if I do : )
I didn't see dl88's clue.
Got it.
ok :)
minski - to5/12=to+an adult male....
Now, for a goofy question: I am down to my last word. I went pro last night just so I can have fireworks! Will I get them on this site or do I need to go to beta site?
i am back -- more plants moved, killed and planted (not all the same ones, of course); and I finally figured out where I want to put the witchazel so Tom can dig a nice big hole for me. :-)
i have AIM nut. wahoo.
Munner - you need Beta......
Munner, you have to be on beta site to get fireworks, definitely worth the trip!
can't share photos in aim cliffery
Thanks, I'm heading there now. Just have to figure out ch 6
my son and i do. or are you saying you don't use AIM?
sure you can nut - you just do send file...
Minski, you're not stupid. Don't believe everything your parents tell you!
oh! i didn't know that, is it instant?
lets try. i'll email you my screen name.
cause the yahoo is super easy, just drag and drop
and that's all the m words... I love seeing the boxes start to turn gray. an hour until grant gets home, think I can make it?
Where is MikeyFromBerlin? I just saw the gay cowboy movie and I have a few questions about that lifestyle.
I think I'm going to have to get off for a few hours, since my computer died I've been using the fams computer and someone else needs on - so for now, goodbye all and will let you know soon about the Babble Moot. Adios!
nut - the other person has to click accept, but then it goes pretty fast. lol schwer!
later punster!
Later, punster.....
bye punster
bye punster
'bye punster : )
co6/27? anyone? bueller?
hmmm, but i use yahoo!
Anyone care to clue the Moviemeister up re: the 8?
Though maybe sometime I can get explained to me why I can't add Lola as a friend:(
okay nut, i will go and sign up for yahoo instant messenger. just for you.
misshoax: co6/27: architectural term
And I am actually gone...Really :)
I LOVE YOU CLIFFY!
I haven't finished one since the new site started but that might be because I have run out of paper and can't print the list out :( I will buy some at the weekend, those fireworks will be mine!!!
plus you'll get audibles
*gasp!* I can't be your friend?? : (
Is yahoo better than msn? Mikey showed me how to use that a couple of weeks ago.
lola - not til you get on the beta site
Hey all... how is everyone this afternoon/evening?
katieW what did Mikey show you how to use? I'm hoping he'll show me how to use something too, IYKWIM.
lola, just went to add you and you're not on line
fine, jera, and you?
Schwer - you have just completely lost me, sorry I'm having a thick night :)
movie, he8....he plus double the golden arches plus hoop plus short version of company plus two letters that sound like the first of my name : )
Doing pretty well... did too much around the hours & got a bit dehydrated. which starts a monster headache. So glad I finished the puzzle first thing this morning!
both yahoo and msn have advantages, as far as I can tell -- they are not exactly the same, though.
Jera, how you doing? it was a lovely day here so all is well.
have to leave firefox to complete my mission. bbl.
bye cliffyt
Finally, the fireworks! Woohoo! and HootieHoo! I "brought" the littliest grandchild, baby Hannah along to see the sight. It is her first fireworks as she is only 3 months old.
hi Jera! Am glad you mentioned that... *picks up water glass*
ah yes. Only found out about the new site half way through playing tonight and was too chicken to move 'til I got all my words! Guess I should go take a look now?
YAY Munner! what a darling baby, too! you are so lucky.
Hi Jera!
hi jera : ) hursh, have downloaded aim but it's hanging on me...will try uninstalling and re-installing....

BH??? no wonder i haven't found that last b
I've just checked out the imdb, and there's a report stating that the ORIGINAL versions of the 1st "Star Wars" trilogy will be released on DVD on Sep. 12....
Matthew saw that yesterday and went singing through the house... :-)
what sings "ding-dong"?
mission accomplished. just look for cliffopa.

yes! great clue, snowy!
Its a place in Wales too!
i responded last time, movieman!
Oh, right, stid.....
I didn't know it was anything but a place in Wales. In my desperate search for a hotel room near Cardiff next weekend I had to go right through the local train timetable :)
erne
Movieman, what's your excuse then?
Now I've gone and done it!!!!! Sorry!!!!!!
katie - just general dementia.....
Did you find anything katie?

'night, Lola!
Sweet Dreams Lola - lovely to see you!
stid - LOL.....
Night, dear lola.
I'm stopping in a pub in Newport which should be fine, the only room in Cardiff was £300 for one night, and as we obviously weren't expecting to be in the final we hadn't booked ahead
kay, goodnight loly dear :)
mab - did you see my post that i have something of interest to tell you at some point?
Night Lola, I did add you to my friends
Yuck! Thats a lot of money! Perhaps you should have booked it and sub let! LOL
I know I saw someone talking about the to 7/32, but I missed the clue and can't find it. anyone? Pretty please?
I know but we never ever get this far in the cup and it was originally suppose to be at Wembly. I've been to Cardiff the last two years for the playoff finals and think it is a fantastic place so am really pleased that it has been moved there this year.

Chic - I can barely see it but I think I love your icon :)
it sounds so simple. a loaf of bread. i'm a dimwit, apparently. hmmm.
That's quite a long commute, mind you I drive about 1 1/4 each way so mine probably isn't much better. I think the stadium is fantastic for both football and speedway. You built it within budget and on time too!!

Just realised the time, better go and get some sleep if I want to get any work done tomorrow. See you all tomorrow :)

UNE! that was a very helpful clue! thanks!
bo 5/18 is a disparaging term that used to be used for German people.
YW!
sweet dreams katie -have a good weekend
Bless you uneai. . .since when was that a loaf of bread?
not familiar with that Snowy
Chic = we had a 2003 Millenium yellow Z06 for a couple years and LOVED it.

bh ends like what an owl says
ho7/32 - one who ho5/12's
hey Bobsta, is there a Wetherspoons near a tube/train station? I'm thinking of our buddies who don't know London.
stidmama, if you have the ho5/12 to bestow an h**** on someone, just add an ending
thanks, vicuna and peri, but I need the other other one...
well it looks like i'm gonna have to do some research for one. (hee hee)
Hmm... apparently so do I.
thanks stidmama
Ok Thanks Bobsta & you? Are you looking forward to the convention? can't make this one unless I bring the 5 littlies which could cause problems in the pub LOL!!
it comes after what a trumpet is :-S
i've got one near where i work but i'm sure i'll find one nearer the pizzeria/jazz thing
snowy: no excuse, bring 'em with we'll make up games for them!!!!!
stidmama, don't have that one yet but will look for it now
I'm too busy screwing around on the new site to do any of the grid! I am wondering, what does it mean when you add friends? I added you stid, did it show up on your end?
just looked on www.beerintheevening.com and the Moon Under Water in Leicester Square looks too small (and crowded)...
Great rendtition of Robbie Burns, Stid. Now--the first br5 (16)? (Not the bush we all have to get rid of)
no wassup, it doesn't seem to tell if the friendship is reciprocal ;-) (but it is!)
LOL I'm not being upstaged by a cute 3 yr old! No Way!!!

hey babs, how about one of the bars around the edge of leicester square? they may not have real ale but we could sit outside if the weather is good and chat to our hearts content
Yes, my lovely Stid, I have both br 6's .It's a br 5 I'm missing. The first one (have the one that sweeps clean when new and the Scots word for bright )
stidmama, I have too, if you find the ho7 first please give me a clue, I will if I find it first
that's just what I was thinking.... I've gone back to considering The Garrick Arms. It's really close to Leicester Square tube.
..unless you find another one that's better during your 'research'.... ; )
You'll all have to wear something obvious to meet up!
you could make babble grid badges! LOL Theres the girlguide talking! LOL
i vote flourescent green hats. that's what we all had to wear to disneyland when i was little. we stood out like 4 sore thumbs
snowy: fair enough! LOL next time bubbles and i are over in wales we'll let you know, perhaps we can meet in porthmadog or somewhere near?
so what is the consensus on the new site? Most people like it, hate it, or indifferent?
ta 5/10 pls and ty:)
love it
Bobsta, what about The Green Man and French Horn?
Babs: not such a bad idea hon, besides, if we need to find some more real ale, there's always a wetherspoon nearby!
helloooooo sarah : )
Bobsta it's about 5 hours for us to get up to North wales -it's a pity the Romans didn't need to get to Angelsey! we'd have had a lovely straight road all the way!

basically.... yep.
wassup, i like it, but i like change, love that the word list can scroll up so you don't have to go through the whole thing when you are looking for that lost word
thats 5 hrs away too Bobsta we're nearer London time wise!
I don't like all these blank icons with a little cross in the corner, I find it very frustrating
watching harry potter with the kids. they were just speaking parcel tongue again. :)

i wouldn't even lob them at bush, and i've got issues with him.
i might lob them at bush
no, that would cost me my job though. not worth it.
i wouldn't lob them at bush cause it wouldn't do any good. but maybe in 1910 it was an effective technique.
i have 7 words left if I can focus my eyeballs...
reminds me of something funny, lemme see if i can find it
i have 68 left. Never gonna finish...

there are 4 ra 5 re 4 ro
find the words wassup!
Hoping for clues: co5/16 and co6/27. Much obliged.
ty stid
bookwyrm -- the clue that seems to work is to think of a to***** of rain or water, then change the first letter.
The co5/16, is what a shoemaker does, but take away one of the double letter
book add on to the 5 before it
how many ra?
co 5/16: what a shoemaker does to shoes, - b
book gave you the other 7 didn't see there were 2
4 ra
there are 4 ra's
Thanks, Sherylr
well kids anyone want a clue before i go off to do other things, lol
yes please -- the first and last ec words?
like when you have a head**** just change first letter to an e
one ra5 or two?
that is a fish for sure!
2 ra 5
e + third letter + the ring **** on your cell phone
oops forget its the e + thrid letter + second vowel and the ring ****
YES! that was IT! (thank you hurshy, Sheryl, the academy, my family and of course my gods)
Ra 5's -add hale fellow well *** and indefinite article
anymore before i retire to read for a bit,
*hurshy despairs* ra5 and an n4, where have my brains gone? is the wizard here to give me some new ones?
my bear shows up good but i have a feeling some icons will not show up so well
this little print is harder for me. I wish there was an option to hide the stats.
eternal gratitude, grant
hurshy, all you need is this paper scroll which tells other people how smart you are!
the little print is also hard on the eyes for me, on a really big puzzle i really will go crosseyed trying to see them
ra 4 that is one letter short of "sort of"?
i have one, but it's in latin, and i can't read it :(
is Dr. God asking for suggestions on the site?

good night Sheryl! thanks again!
mp stid
stid maybe the worm one? i don't know what that is
nite evan
the worm one is ne + a motherly syllable
harpjane, do you have a suggestion? Hurshy and I wish that enter didn't send a chat message, since half the time we send too early, or don't see we are typing in chat instead of the add word box until we send our word to chat
that's it! 1000 points to stidmama, and a big sigh of relief.
YAY hurshy! {{{hug}}}
Hurshy, you've really set the bar high!
hint for the nine letter?!?!
{{{stidmama}}}
now off to finish dinner and get the kids dressed for their concerts this evening... *sigh* later, all!
hello again. has there been a recent clue for he 8/55?

ae 6/24: ae + what you put on after a shower
cliffy - i can't wait to tell my mom about those scarves!
Well, we certainly tried to set that one high== but also the completion bar, I've still got 37 left.
wait 'til she SEES them. she'll want one too!
bookwyrmish--personally, I LIKE the "enter" in the chatlog, if only because it's consistent with Iron Sudoku. On days when I play both games I get confused so easily!
He 8 ends with 1st four letter of Latin for sky.
they're just the kind of thing we want, but never will spend the money for
i may have to buy one at christmas!
or the ironsudoku chatlog could change to the "old babble" way
thanks tndaisy, you have noooo idea how long that one bothered me today!
or maybe we'll just have to see what you have to trade :)
lol, yeah, i'll have made another by then
grant - i only know pig latin
i'll probably make one next week now
book dear, i simply cannot accept this bar you attribute to me - it was pathetic, it took me all day!
harpjane, so what it your idea?
hurshy, ok, I'll award you a bronze one, instead of the silver or gold, but I'm still at lead-level!
tndaisy, perhaps im slow. the shower clue isn't doing it. thanks though.
any non-latin clues for he 8/55?
silver and gold, silver and gold, everyone wishes for silver and gold... how do you measure its worth? just by the pleasure it gives here on earth? silver and gold, silver and gold, mean so much more when i seeeeee silver and gold decorations on every Christmas tree

Hi cliff-THEY"RE HERE....hordes of the nasty, bloodsucking, little buggers. Just had to vent for a minute to someone who knows the misery. Tell me again why we live in these places where just when it gets beautiful out we can't be there without being attacked and desanguinated?
night, X wren
nevermind, found it
eva. are you being bugged by fishflies, or soemthing worse? No bugs out in Michigan yet
Bo 6 babies wear them on their feeties
ok, dinner time. may be back later.
Inge-blackflies. We live in what is essentially blackfly capitol of New England. They come for about 6 weeks andmake life outside unliveable without wearing lots of netting and DEET.
Eva, have you tried organic garden's stingstop?
I tried it for mosquitos when I last was in a rainy summer and it was great. I am not in New England until July, though, so escape most of the blackflies.
We occasionally encounter black flies on our 40 acres in central Michigan, but not a plague as you seem to have
Does anyone know if it's possible to view entire log for the day w/o opening a new page? HELP! How can I ever swipe, er, borrow, er, um, you know what I mean, clues from earlier in the day?
still haven't seen any here eva! we'll probably have clouds of them when they appear.
no idea, mom23, someone asked the same question this morning.

what about the weird bh?!
I need lots of co's, including the 6/21 and 6/27?
To those who want to seek clues from earlier in the day, I asked that question this morning and was adivsed to try clicking on the TVscreen-looking square at the top right hand corner. Haven't tried it yet though.

BO for a German. I don't get it.
hetty-yes, you can click on that screen and get all the earlier clues, but you can't type words in on that screen...you have to flip back and forth between pages which is really unworkable. Someone said something about split screens, but I don't know how to do that
tndaisy, if you get the last word, will you see your name up in ne** lights?
thanks again cliff. How in the world did you ever know that one?
the lights aren't the ones I need after all..it's the 4/4 above it. I messed up
scatty. I have 116 words but probably won't finish
like me messing up, is unusual or something..NOT...

I am still using the regular babble page, but noticed earlier folks talking about the beta one. Will we be able to keep using this one as in the past?
another period of silence, so I will do my laundry, watch the evening news, and hit the sack. Good night. Merk, I think the new page will eventually take over. Right now Dr. G is still experimenting and fixing things.
Merk, Dr_G is going to move us to the new one as soon as the bugs are worked out. That is His pronouncement from a couple of days ago.
Someone said something about losing stuff with it so I haven't even dared to try going there ... plus too busy.

Minveryork, check out the info on Angelsong's Babble page. It will answer a lot of your questions!
Welcome, Minveryork. Try checking out the link to lickety's clues at either the side bar or the bottom box, depending on where you are logging onto. It has a list of words
minveryork - there is a link (in green) to 'Lickety's Babble Clues' check it out.
Minveryork Welcome Miner click on the link that says "Lickety's Babble Clues" which is also a good help.

Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions. I thought I was good at word games, but you guys put me to shame!

This may be easy, but it's my last word. The first ra5/12, anyone?
ty gwenski (modestly)
Darn, and I was so proud of that clue since I got that word on my own! I've got 77 words, and I haven't looked at the word lists yet, just finding them on my own and with the great clues in the log.

Yeah Scatty MSN
hi guys...some old friends I haven't seen in a while (((hugs)))
nan: ec7 plus o plus to4/4.
Scatty he said to tell you that it is the same address as the one in his bio.
TH 6/21 and 7/32 clues pleeeease?
faerie, I should have left it alone yesterday, but I just can't resist Babble! I try to do grids that are 150 words or less, but sometimes the flesh is weak (and the eyes are tired...)
You do what you want with that Scatty but he can be a bit of a pain in the ass on MSN.
thanks, mab --- do you have a clue for the ce 6? -- thought I had it with ce plus musical note -- but it wasn't accepted.
LOL JB - I know the feeling very well.
oh duh -- got it with apologies!
i had fifteen word left last night, i found the words but couldn't add them before the grid changed because it was going too slowly, i was in a major stress
Mikey is already on my msn
Ok
I do the same thing, I say I won't start a puzzle that is too long and lo and behold, I'm 100 words in...I need help (and more time sometimes)
ce plus the word in your post, nan.
no4
is everything going ok with that for you Scatty?
faeriekae, have you tried to go on to my msn yet
th6/21 is not now but TH** plus what you drive minus first consonant
thanks -- se 10:09 post, mab
I needed that one Nan, so no worries...it's late in the game and I thank you!
scatty, I once had ONE WORD LEFT on a massive 300+ word grid, and even with everyone tossing clues in the log as fast as they could type, I missed it when the grid flipped. I think everyone could hear me screaming!
last word -- h 8?
No I haven't had time but I know that I'm not going to finish this grid tonight so if you wanna go there I'll meet you.
Thank you nrkii and nan.
OH JB that had to really suck.
jb, i was having a real paddy, it was so frustrating having the words sitting there and not being able to do anything about it
i have it on faeriekae
he8/ A cavity or series of spaces between the organs of most arthropods and mollusks through which the blood circulates.
hi everyone - back to finish what i started last night
Hi helen :)
hi helen
Scatty I don't remember your MSN address? I think mine if kayfaerie@msn.com
jeffer, you got me on that one
{{{Helen}}} Hi how may more do you need to finish?
My MSN is on also Scatty
sure jeffer -- how about a break down clue? -- figured it must have something to do with the blood prefix, but monkeying didn't help.
i've just signed you in faeriekae
hiya faeri - now need 25 & am not going to chat here, cause i'm not giving you guys my words anymore !!!!! you're gonna have to get them on your own today, lol!
Scatty get me on MSN so I can talk to you for a sec ok?
scatty, I don't know what having a paddy means, but I think I can extrapolate it from your comment!
c'mon, pretty please, helenkeller?
LOL Helen - come on I could use some 7 letter words :)
LOL J
LOL JB
faeriekae, mine is r_jbourne@tiscali.co.uk
I too wondered about having a paddy but I thought I was the only one.
Please -- need a break-down clue for he 8 (hate googling a def)?
me too! I looked it up after he/8 the first three are the blood-thing + tv program (not ER) + 4th vowel+2nd vowel + cons
lol jb - nope, i'm staying out of this box - it's too much for my pretty little head to handle: find words, find words that make sense, find babble words that don't make sense, put cursor here, do not put cursor there - wheew -it's just wayyyy tooo much, lol
LOL, helkel (I abbrev a lot, you may notice)
jeffer, thank you thank you thank you
hi all! back from the concert. the boys did well. :-)
that's a cute one - i'm still not gonna type my words in here today (i hope)
nrkii yw yw yw
(((stid)))
hiya stid !!!
nan, he 8: starts out like the "blood" word, ends like nat king co** anagram...
Does anyone have the 9? I see there is one but haven't found it yet.
hey kristinc!
ai 9: 8th letter of the alphabet + what you give a dog
ai 9: 8th letter of the alphabet + what you give a dog
Help please with le4,5.....
oops. sory bout that...
oh stidmama, your clues are always so straightforward.
you have never heard of anyone having a paddy, its a commo saying over here, usually my child is having a paddy, ie screaming fit, throwing yourself on the floor
nan did you see stidmama 10:20
Scatty try to get me MSN please I'm having trouble adding you to my list.
faeriekae, are you still there or are you coming onto msn
le 4/5: a person who craves sex (i think); the first name of polish leader le** walesa
{{{Stid}}
i've never heard that either - only rice paddy or st. paddy
i'll have another go
thank you stid for both clues...I still wasn't jiving with the first he8 clues so thank you
thanks stidmama. what kind of a wierd word is that?
{{{faerie}}} how is the garden today?
I would call that throwing a tantrum or having a fit. I like "having a paddy" though!
My Irish Grandma says that's where paddy's come from, the emerald isle,. Hi scatty, hope you are all well again
no idea, I just clue em as I can understand them...
Stid - It is doing fantastic. and yours?
jeffer & stidmama -- thank you *hugs* Done!!!!
Yeah, that's the word for how I felt with one word left when the grid flipped that time!!! Thanks, scatty, I've got a new word!
YAY nan! woo-hoo!
cybernan did you see stidmama's at 10:20?
en 6/18 anyone?
hi JB! *tosses chocolates in the air*
late as usual!
en 6/18: en + the part of a plant in the ground
{{{{stidmama}}}} *jumps and snatches chocolates*
faeriekae, it says that it will let me know when you have accepted
Is anyone else continually getting a message about something wrong with the script?
i've put it on wice now
i mean twice
no -- are you on the old site still? I wonder if Dr_G has had to move a few things around?
stidmama, excellent, ty
*whispers* (cause it could be a dumb one) no 5/14?
no cyber ( i am on the old)
Yay, cnan!!!
No I only get the message on the beta site.
there are two no 5/14... one means aristocratic, like a knight and his lady
<waiting for an answer to kristinc's query for the no5/14>
no 5/14 reminds me of chef emeril
Got that one, stid!
the other no 5/14: is to cut a small "v" out of something
Thanks, jeffer! (do I have to do the kick thing, too?)
no 5/14: what gunslingers put on their gun after every kill
nan -- that's what I was trying (lamely) to convey!
thanks stidmama...but that's le4,6...what about le4,5?
did you get onto Mikeys ok
Also my icon keeps switching back to the sails everytime I log in, no matter what I had changed it to.
jbsAnno how many words you need - you may not have time!!
ah...duh! Thanks! (I needed the "easier" of the 2)
sorry mam20... that le 4/5 is German for "learn"
Yeah - No problems there. But he had to MSN me first.
Meaning I wasn't able to add him until I recieved an IM from him
JB can do it! specially with the *magic chocolates*
jeffer, assuming you're not done yet?
Thanks, jeffer, I have 75 to go, but the operative words are "to go" as in "to go to bed, now!" I've gotten 7 hours sleep in the last 3 days, so no way am I finishing tonight.
Only if the magic is lots and lots of caffeine, stid!
I'm just tired tonight I think. Lets try it tomorrow what do ya say..
Thank you Stidmama....I got it!
I don't think dr. god is listening to us --- he only seems to be interested in bugs, not what we actually think of the site. There are quite a few still at the old site because of things like the type being too small to read on this one, the page is too busy, stats box hard to read, non-scrolling chat log, etc. etc.
oooh JB! that's not good... nope, the magic only works if you are basically okay -- and that's not enough sleep even for a mochajavacocoalatte!
JBsAnno then you may kick it up a ***** !
Now...I need en6,24 and 6,18 please. almost done.
I'm on the old site! I much prefer it. any help on the mo 5/14 (both puleez)
Darn, stid, I was pinning my hopes on that magic potion-atta!
oh jeffer good clue *bam*
Great clue Jeffer :)
I think Dr_G is listening, just trying to see how things run before tweaking things... or something like that. It takes time to get used to the change.
BAM!
en 6/24: to put a "gown" on
I actually do like this site better, but I would like to see the log and the grid on the same screen so I could scroll (troll) for clues.
ok, its past my bed time anyway, will attempt to have a chat tomorrow, nighty night
mo 5/14 (only one): dd/MM/yy
nan...duh! Thanks...only one you say? (BJs lists two)
the other mo 5/14 (the first) is like what you sleep in when you are away from home (an inn, of sorts) with an h in the middle.
brb
down to last 4
'nite, scatty! Don't have a paddy! (sorry, couldn't resist. Chalk it up to sleep deprivation...)
Whoever commented on the size of the type is correct -- it is smaller in the word list and as a result, the list is much harder to the read and hard on the eyes.
It looks the same to me.
If you are using Firefox, you can increase the text size, cybernan
let me go back to the old site (where I was working) -- not all of the words transferred over.
I'm sorry Stidmama...maybe the day has gotten too long, but I am not getting your clue.
time for bed even though not done yet. see you all tomorrow. nighty-night all
Besides, my eyes are already watering on this one!
thanks for the other mo ;)
There is an mo5 that is the name of the cat in the Mutts cartoon...
are you using Internet Explorer, cybernan?
bend - how do you do that? make the type larger?
to7? (the clues earlier tonight were too much!)
ok...like hi ya;ll...is anybody out there??????....let me get my magnifier
{{{renfield}}}
ah, much better -- no I'm using firefox and I have a 19" screen --- hate to think what the beta site would be like on anything smaller!!!
yes, in Firefox, go to the View menu and highlight text size, then click on increase text size
to 7/32 A network of extremely small blood vessels passing between the pia mater and the cerebral cortex.
hi rennie!
to 7: to + me 5/12
I know you can also increase text size in Safari (Apple's web browser), and I suspect you can increase text size in IE, but i'm not positive
sorry, Dr. God, but you've taken a wonderful game that I've hardly missed a day on since October/05 and ruined it!
k bend - i did that, but nothing happened
Ya'll check it out on Msnbc...My cousin is standing in protest to Rumsfeld's speech in Atlanta.
thanks for the to clues! :)
stid....i barely recognized you!!! at least my typos will be minimized!!!!!
hey kris!!!!
Me too, thanks for the to clues, finally got it. Hey, {{{{renfield!}}}}
I got fireworks!
I don't think it's just text size --- the overall clutter and the colour scheme is also causing eye strain for me
hmm helen, that's odd...what version of Firefox are you using?
Night Scatty.....
Yay, nrkii!!!! Congrats
YAY nrkii
jb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm off to bed also....Good Luck EVERYONE !!!
Well, there isn't much that I can suggest for the clutter, cybernan
RENNNNFIEEEEEELLLLLLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
goodnight faerie!
I wonder -- if Dr_God made the boxes with the same two colors (instead of peach, green, lime green.... etc) that would cut down on some of the visual stimulation.
I'm at 98 words, I'm going for an even 100, then gotta go to bed (yawn)
good night faeriekae!
ren...whereya been?
bend - i don't know - my job is to play & use the computer, my neighbor sets everything up - but this is his line of work & he gives me the same stuff he uses, so i'm thinking whatever the lastest is, that's probably what i have
I like the new site because I get to see tile stats and word stats even though I'm not a pro :) But I know that will change once the new site is no longer beta
helen, count your blessings! That's almost better than having a neighbor with a snowplow!
i'm with you on that one bend :)))
working kris....working, working , working!!!!!
I know -- I just feel so frustrated and sad, because I don't enjoy the game in the new format, and probably won't be playing much anymore when it becomes permanent. I will miss the fun, the chat and all of you.
ok helen. it doesn't matter, cause I'm running an older version of Firefox and this feature was available with that version. I actually don't usually use firefox, but I was having trouble with beta babble crashing Safari
JB he has a snowplow too !!!!!!
and he actually likes to do plumbing !!!!!
yesterday Dr. God said that people would get all the stats for the first 14 days and then have to be pro to see them...
ren, I got cut off from Babble at work, so I can only play for a couple of hours on the site.
i am very blessed -they are the best neighbors ever
ren...well good to see you anyhow (work sucks)
helen, if he isn't married (and if you aren't married already, LOL) propose to him. He probably cooks and does his own laundry, too! SNATCH HIM!!!
hmm, cybernan...I think someone was talking earlier about opening chat in a separate tab in firefox, but I don't remember who that was, and I don't know if that meant that it didn't show up in the playing page as well
oh jb...what happened??? it????
helen...i'm curious about the text resizing not working...
One of my main objections to the new site is all the flipping -- that would just be one more, bend!
jb - that's where the magic ends - he does hardly any womanly stuff, but has a wife who does all that for him - and she's a sweetheart too, bakes for us all the time & we are exactly the same age, lol
Yup, ren, the evil IT people think I should WORK when I'm at work! They've really cut down on what sites are allowable. Still, I can print off a grid at home before work, and write down words during the day.
what flipping, cybernan?
Any way, I will leave you all now -- apologize for being such a downer --- really am upset by this. Good night all :)
ah, well, helen, you are counting your blessings, and I'm happy for you - it does sound like an ideal situation.
'nite, cybernan!
ce7? sorry, getting desperate...company in less than 10 minutes
jb - i will ask the all-knowing neighbor tomorrow - he'll figure it out
good night nan -- see you tomorrow.
nite Nan, hang in there!
nite nan
I wonder if Dr. God got rid of the fancy border and made the whole thing white, and gave more space between everything, if that would make the site less visually cluttered
i do that for lunch sometimes jb....we sit in the lunch room working on babble
You have to flip to see the whole log, flip to use a stats list, and now flip to see larger type? -- no thanks
well, good night cybernan...hope to see you again soon
It would certainly help as would a light grey background instead of white.
oh...you don't like all the scroll windows. I see! okay, I understand now.
yeah jb - i'm always worried they may move - i know he wants to, but she doesn't & they are going to wait until their youngest finished high school - only 2 more years - we have been neighbors (eeeek) over 25 years
ce7?
I kind of like the scroll lists being separate because I don't have to scroll away from the board to look at my lists, or the chat log
Not the scroll windows --- the fact that the chat log doesn't scroll is what I don't like -- I think the scrolling word list is a great addition.
ce7 = penny + we *** the champions
thanks nr!
thanks, nr, from me too!
so nan -- if the entire chat log were available on this page you would like it better?
np, gotta go get sleep now
first br 6/30 (haylp!)
nitet nite you little munchkins!!!!!
G'night all! Thanks for the help!
Well, I've reached the 100 words for tonight, and now MUST depart. It's been fun, as usual, and BAM - I'm outta here. {{{{hugs to all!}}}}
good night nrkii, good night renfield!
kristinc - it's jewelry that your grandmother would have worn on her bosom.
good night JB!
nite Ren!
Nite, s-mama, thanks for the chocolate, and I'll catch that mochajavalattesmoothingie later!
good nite jb
one br 6/30 has double vowel inthe middle, the other has only one in the middle and the second vowel
stid...I have the double vowel one, what is the other? (confused and watchng the driveway)
hrm, i think i still don't understand what cybernan means by flipping...but i think she's gone now...my chat window has a scroll bar?
i dont get the flipping thing either (us amateurs!)
in order to see the entire chat for the day, you have to open a new tab or window and "flip" back and forth between that one and this.
hey helen...if you want to know what version of a program you have, you can go up to the menu and there should be a selection that says 'about mozilla firefox', which, if you select it, should bring up a little box that says the version you've got. On my apple, there's a menu entitled "firefox", but I don't know how it is on a windows computer...
br + round vowel + clearing throat letters + second vowel...
oh. why do you need to see the entire chat for the day? and also, on the old site it only kept the last 50 chat entries on display...?
thank you Stid...one more please? bo 6/24?
when you want to get clues but not bother other folks who are chatting, it's nice to have the whole list available. On the old site, you could choose to have the entire log available on the same page.
kristin...bo6/24 is the thing you put on a baby's foot
ah, i see
kristinc! and you're going to be a mommy? LOL
duh, duh, duh...thanks!
ok bend - i found my list of programs, but i do not see firefox in there - what else might it be>
yw
stid - i didn't know that - i thought you had to go back page by page
I know..company has arrived and one more word so I'm selling out on easy words!
can anyone give me a clue for the he8?
oh, i'd forgotten that things are very different on windows computers. I didnt mean that you had to go looking through your programs
that is also an option on the old site that isn't here...
when you have firefox in front, what are the menu titles?
cybernan don't be discouraged this may not be the final format ....
he 8: he + first two letters of a cow sound + nat king co** anagram
so kristin? done?
no...can I cheat?
nevermind helen, i see...under the file menu, is there an option that says 'about firefox'?
be 6/30
thanks stidmama
be 6/30: every mother wonders what her baby will be**** (grow up to be); be + co 4
thank you! Mom and pop are here so I'm heading off.
hanks again.
bend - no there is not
dang return on the new site!
YAY kristinc!
the "about firefox" is under the "Help" menu
nope, not there either
Need a clue for co6/27
are you just looking for the version you're using?
co 6/27: first three letters of the next few words + first three letters of the instrument that rings
hi marc, it's an architectural term, co 6 27
yeah, stid. i am curious as to why helen's text enlargement isn't working
my version uses <control>++ to get bigger
helen...were you able to find the text resizing option in the view menu?
yes, that's the quick key, stidmama. but if you aren't good at remembering quick keys, you can always go up to the menu to change the size of the text
right. that's true.
yes bend it is there, but does nothing as far as i can see
i have 3 words left, i will screw with the text when i'm done, just in case i do something stupid like ERASE ALL MY WORDS, LOL
hm. there is no reason it shouldn't... I think you may have to ask that nice neighbor...
helen, what about if, as stidmama suggests, you try pressing the cntrl key at the same time as the + (aka =) key
you have to press the + twice in a row
ok then i will let you guys help me with these last 3 - co 5/12
ma 6/21
te 5/12
co 5/12: one who says what doves say
thanks all got it
ty stid 2 to go
ma 6/21: there are two. both are ma + hook letter (twice) + "one who" or the first two letters of the first numeral
if a cow is a mo***, and a heckler is a bo***, then a dove is a co***
te 5/12: eighth, ninth, te***
bendamalina -- that was a lovely clue! much more "poetical" than mine.
k, ty stid
ma 6/21 is another word for chestnut (looks like the word for a burgandy/red color)
duhhhhhhh -thanks stid
:D I saw that you already wrote yours, but I couldn't resist adding mine stid
:-) I figured -- never know which one's gonna work, anyway!
so much easier when stid just gives me the clues
life is easier when the answers are readily available... but maybe not as much fun?
heh heh
pretty, pretty fireworks - mine didn't work yesterday - THEY WORK TODAY, DR G - THANK YOU
of course, I was begging hurshy for clues earlier! LOL
nah stid -that was fun for me
YAY helenkeller! woo-hoo! they are pretty, though, aren't they?
congratulations helen!
back again. 25 to go. gonna get as close as possible!
I like the fireworks a lot. Now there's no question when you are well and truly finished!
i turned on my sound just in case there were auditory explosions too, but maybe that's a tweek for another day
I was so happy to get fireworks today, cause yesterday's puzzle was too hard for me to complete
an 6/24?
or too long, i guess
hi wassup! you can do it! it only took me 1.5 hours to get the last ten earlier... :-/
ma6/21? Either one?
an 6/24...the national an****
wass - the star spangled banner is one
no way...too easy! thanks guys
With 12 words to find I have to break down and beg for help with the second en6 please
want more? I got more.
harp - stid just gave excellent clues for the ma 6/21's
ma 6/21 were clued just now... 11:12 and 11:13
11:12
MORE MORE!
lol wassup
the en 6/18: en + part of a plant in the ground
brb
ok, now let's see about the print size
yes, I found it! Thanks.
nope, nothing happens when i press control and =
did you press = twice?
hi kids.
em 5/12?
fireworks for me! (they're really cool too!)
Of course, Stid. Thanks yet again
helen...are you using a cordless mouse by any chance?
yes, pressed 2x, 3x .... nothing
noope, mouse has cord
hrmm...ok
hmmmmmmm
em 5/12: to show one's emotions...
wassup - em is e+m4/5
ah...*crying*...still have 22
helen -- are you pressing the control+ simultaneously? hold down the control key and push =/+ twice
go wassup go! I am here for you!
choo should be a word....
ho 7/32
ok, i found something interesting - right above the 'text size' option there is something that says 'zoom', so i tried that , nothing happened here, yet lickety's list, which i have open in another window is now much larger
atchoo should be a word, too.
yes stid - i was holding down the control key
helen -- click in the window you want to resize....?
i tried atchoo also
I absolutely agree, stid!
it won't do it in the babble window
hmm. apparently the enable dictionary doesn't have allergies!
LOL
Hey, all. I've been lurking trying to finish this up after a late start. I'm down to one. I read back through several pages of the log and didn't find any clues. HELP!!! It's bo5/18. The very first bo word. Am I just blind?
i have allergies. damn pollen
that is just bizarre. I am SO out of my league here! will now defer to more geekly types.
one who ho5/12 is your ho7/32
hmm, helen...it seems that the resizing is working, but not in beta babble, for you at least. It works for me...
I have allergies to so many things.... pollen, dust, animal fur (yes, we have two dogs), lots of foods... not much fun, I'm afraid.
thanks firefly. i'm missing the 5 too... :) I just couldn't focus today!
ok- here's what i tried now - closed all windows except babble - hit zoom & the onlly thing that got larger is the banner above the grid that says 'check out our other websites' yet the grid & chat stays the same
ho 5/12 is what you call a judge; you ho***
ok, got them, thanks both of you
helen -- are you on the new site?
Never mind. Got it monkey-typing. Night all!
lol stid - your 11:25
Is the very first co4/6 a fish? Or is that the second?
yes on the beta site
*sits on hands, of course you are, you got fireworks*
LOL
that is the first co 4. there is a co 5 just before it
ok, it's late, we're tired after a long day of babbling, we excuse ourselves for not knowing what the heck is going on around us
*but helen* she whispered *i start out my days like this*
lol
the 2nd co 4 is something people fall into if they get hit really hard on the head...
also, i wonder why your help menu doesn't have 'about mozilla firefox' listed...
soooooo what is firefox?
AH HA!
maybe i'm using something different
*giggle*
umm....
you're probably in internet explorer....
no, i'm just sitting at my desk
are you serious, helen?
hahahahahahhaahhahaha
LOL
partly serious - i don't know what firefox is or what it should be doing
*choke, gasp* that is just TOO FUNNY!
stidmama...i like how your icon looks like mine :D
Then, could I get a clue for the second co4/6? The one right after it?
firefox is a mythical magic internet browser....
om 6/21?
and yeah, that is funny
yes bend - stid did that yesterday so she could be a target like the rest of us, LOL
heh
do you have to be on firefox to get fireworks?
oh it's a browser - i use a browser called avant
om 6/21: o + me 5 again....; the to 7 - the t
Need another clue, bo5/18
ah HA! that explains it
well, I wanted to fit in, you know!
thanks
bo 5/18: b + oc 5 - r
don't worry stid, I'm sure you're sufficiently geeky to be in our little crowd here.
please continue bend ...........
th 6/21?
.... or not....
th 6/21: must be a star trek name... now and th** + "to be" plural -e
well, you aren't using the browser that i thought you were using. so the options availble in your browser will be different, and even if similar, the commands you type to use them will probably be a little different, or work a little differently
can you tell us what browser you are using helen?
ok, but why would the zoom work on the lickety page & not on this one?
there should be an icon and or a name at the top of the open window.
sure, avant browser
that's what we're naming our next kid. :)
okay, will check it out. be right back.
lol wass
or not
hmmmmmmmm stid,go git 'em
uh, even though i don't know what a firefox is, i can still give clues if anyone needs some
ten left. hope i make it! I keep getting distracted by the new format.
whacha need?
i am going to install it and see how to work it. it will take just a few more minutes. back in a flash.
ok - you slay me stid
a woman on a mission
16 to go. i'm missing an ne 4/4 at the end. i have the one that's a gas
that's the hawaiian goose
just repeat
helen, i've been looking for info on avant, but not finding any. i think stid's idea is best, but i have a feeling that your particular web browser has a way of viewing pages that have scroll areas in a way that won't allow it to resize the text.
but it changes the lickety text
Thanks stidmama I am really stuck on the bo's how about bo6/24
marc- what babies have on their feet
lickety's page is much simpler that babble's page. there is much less going on...i'm just guessing here
we'll see what stid comes up with
ok
bendamalina, I think you are correct. I see the text size options under the "zoom" helen mentioned, but it doesn't affect the font size. i'll look some more.
bo 6/24 is what you put on a baby's foot
didn't i just say that? lol
wassup do you have the Hawaiian goose?
Thanks how dumb of me not to get that one.
wassup...did you get the ne4/4?
just did, thanks bend
you're welcome, marc. i had to ask for that one earlier
oops, sorry helen, i didn't see that
np :)
hmm this is apparently a fairly new freeware, the help is minimal. Helen, for now I think you have to just live with what you see. If you want to use Firefox which is just as good for most applications (and the one Dr_G write for), then perhaps your neighbor can install it for you. It wouldn't be hard to do if you want to try though.
en 6/24?
en6/24+ what you wear after a bath
thanks
nope, i will ask him to do it, as this is his domain - plus don't want him thinking that i can do stuff on my own here, how would that look? :)
yw wassup
wassup, what's your count? If you ask for three at a time, I'll take the third, benda can take the second, and helen can take the first...
bwahahaha helen....very true
;-) helen, I completely understand!
thx stid - i don't think it's very new, he's had it for a few years now & i've had it for 1 1/2 years since i got this computer
be6?
desperate...how bout the other ho 7/32? (2nd)
oops, never mind!
be 6/30: be + co4
ho 7/32 the other... rain falls in to******s, change the t to h and lose the s
ho7/32 rhymes with a heavy downpour
sorry benda -- *steps gingerly off your toes*
hah stid...we think a bit alike on clues, no?
ah ha! i think horrath should be a word
agreed, but it isn't and time is ticking...
no problem stid...i just don't type as fast as you :D
sure, if bh 5/16 is a word, then why not?
i monkeytyped that one...at least there weren't any yp words today
lol - yep my monkies got that one too
I don't like yp words almost as much as I don't like words that are all consonants!
missing all the oc words except for the color. 10 left. possible?
my monkeys were on strike when I hit that word, needed a cluse
i'll start from the bottom
oc6/21 is the color plus the first vowel
all oc words start the same. the first one is oc + ho 4 that you do to a blade on a knife
that was mine -i was supposed to get the first one!!!!
Time ticks and I need ta5/10; ra5/12, and re6/21
oc 5/14: a muddy yellow brown color
wow the fireworks are COOL! Sorry I've been quiet, but almost didn't make it, head cold / allergies

ta5/10 wasn't in dictionary????
damn, had all the o's. just had something wrong on my list
mo5/14, january, february, march...
mo 5/14 = mo + you will burn in ***l if you have lead a bad life
re 6/21: re+ identify; re + na 4
ra5/12: take the preceding ra4/5 and add the second vowel of the alphabet at the end
ooops, sorry, mine was the first one
thanks for the mo
LOL hetty -- most of these aren't in the dictionary...
well helen, i think i took yours...
*giggle* i like how you gals work together!
