Anyone else having problems?
problems?????????
Oh yes!!!
i am
I've got today's grid now but it's taken 13 minutes.
I feel like I crshed the system!
is it all better
nope, still lagging
gonna give the doc some breathing room - see you all tomorrow - good night
I have today's grid minus three letters
oh sure, now i get on. not when i have 17 words left and 30 minutes to go... :)
took me 13 min to get on - hi everyone!
just got back--1:1 am here; post flip
same here, just got on.
oh, gotta change!
flip, I guess!
well, it's running faster at least!
seems like the words are coming pretty easily
twasn't you jaianniah! the site was slow for over an hour...
okay, diving in... *splash*
egads, it only took two hours for me to get into this site tonight >.<
eureka! i finally got on!!
yeah, me too
hi everyone!!
can anyone hint to the ar6?
sorry Rish, not that far yet!
I have never had any trouble getting onto this site, but these past few days off and on the site is unavailable.
what's our icon theme for the day?
ch 7....
th 7
yes Cat, it's been very peculiar at times this past week. More so than usual.
Well, hoop-de-doo and what have we here? Having been thoroughly stymied for over an hour I've now made a START with the ARTS and I dont care who knows it so there!
I wonder why? I know nothing of things like this, I only know I miss my bable when it's gone :)
hi hetty! did you have a good afternoon? I was thinking -- Irish harp?
handbags, harpjane--m/f :)
was it just me or was the babble site dead for te past couple of hours??
deader than a doornail :)
Yup, a Celtic one. But I no longer play at all well. It's just an instrument you have to play as if you love it--stroking the strings.
yes, a dear friend is an excellent harpist. You would like her. I haven't had the time to try to learn, but someday... :-)
hi again everyone
i had 4 words to enter and couldn't finish , very frustrating
hi saphyre! I think maybe the old grid was just tired earlier...
hi,saphyre
nice to be back -- but where are lickety's f's?
"Farewell--but if ever you welcome the hour that awakens the night songs of love in your bower/ Remember the friend who once welcomed them too, and forgot her own griefs to be happy with you--
cat, was just reading your profile. I'm so sorry about your mother.
Stid m'dear, don't wait too long
ty wassup. Miss her terribly, but at least she is painfree now, thats our only solace.
itch
oops sorry
saph-- I saw your last post before site went down-- couldn't answer... :-|
*sending love and light to Cat*
went through something similar recently. it does get easier, but i still miss her every minute.
how vwry thoughtful stid, thank you
Jill -- it takes a little while for Lickety to put up his clues. He'll log in and let us know when they're ready for us!
"very
Hi, jilli.Lickety usually takes a little while--he'll probbaly come on to the chat shortky to say he's ". up" Alan say s I have to sleep now, so see you tomorrow.
good night Hetty! sleep well.
bye Hetty :) sleep well :)
nite hetty
cat9x: our moms were similar age, as are we; i lost mine just over a year ago. i feel for you. i miss my mom, but do feel relief that the suffering is behind her.
(and good night Alan) :-)
word that isn't there that i wish was: froth
I am so sorry melon. It's a terrible loss, but agree, theyre suffering is over. Thats a comfort.
i keep wanting to find trowel
Long, long may our hearts with these memories be filled/ Like a vase in which roses have once been distilled--you may break, you may shatter the vase if you will/ But the scent of the roses will hang round it still. Good night all, blessings
The one thing that comforts me too, is that I was there when she took her last breath. As she was there when I took mine.
meant my first breathe
tx cat, one of my mom's legacies is my love of word games. that's why i like to drop in & babble a bit :)
I am a terrible typist, please excuse my mess at times
That's a really sweet thought cat. Never thought of it that way.
my kids grew tremendously visiting & caring for their gramma.
Mine too melon, my Mom loved word games, I got my love of them from her.
ty wassup, it meant alot to me to be there with her.
Cat, so far everything has been understandable! this late at night, I either start typing really slowly or I erase a whole bunch...
it figures, I finished a grid and my computer wouldnt load up the game again for three hours
hey cat - that was really beautiful
good morning everybody
my son also, he is takibng it rather hard, he is expecting his first child in July, would have been her first grandchild. He is heartbroken that she will miss that
lickety clues have arrived !
ty debbinla
*first GREAT grandchild, sorry
melonhead -- did you find the anagram of the word that isn't in grid? I just got that one...
sarah, my last name is in the puzzle (not touching, but still pretty dope. i keep seeing it
that baby will have one more angel in heaven watching over her/him..
yup stid - i also found a bird!
mine is too - one c. :)
that he will debb :)
haha! yup. and my first name minus the y is too
oh yes! there it is! thanks!
mine too!
weeiiiiirrrrrrd.
hey I feel left out, my name would never appear! :)
that just means we are destined to finish today. :)
lol cat.
there is also another word that is one consonant different from the bird... I think it was in yesterday's grid as well
is it bad when you get stuck at the very first word? lol My brain isn't functioning.....
tx stid, hmmm that's the name of a road near me - thought it was only a proper noun - it always pays to guess.
My monkeys have been working overtime the last couple of days!
wa 7/44 anyone? i've got all but 3 Ws.
despite the rules this game seems to be full of proper nouns!
yikes, I am still one the U..lol
i keep seeing erotic, then forcing myself not to see it, but it always comes back
wa7 = a spendthrift
haha!
some proper nouns (names especially) were originally descriptions of landmarks or jobs... others have gone from being an inventor name to being the invention
froelica, maybe you need to go to bed? ;)
thanks Golux!
yw
well, in all honesty i'm always like this
aha golux! i had tried that word, but took a "wrong turn"
yeah, she is....dirty minded.
ok, between an ugly bump and a ne'er-do-well is the last wa 4/8. think, melon, think!
ty golux!
its a disease, you cant hate me for it...
between plural ugly bumps and a ne'er-do-well, a former way of saying formerly existed
got all the Ws!
tx golux - how poetical!
now i have 2 N's from the top, but cannot find the one N from the right side
still wondering about lickety's f's. and i do have the june 5 list
It's still June 4 where some of us are.....
haha ashley. i'm falling asleep with the laptop on my lap. i keep nodding off. I'm determined to stay up though.
I am so close to halfway... LOL but I can stop any time I want to... reall1
closer to june 6th than june 4th for me
horas
fandangos
sorry
that's right ERda! good evening!
tangos?
n from the right: nasty egg meets preposition.
trawl
take
two
well, it's late june 4, lol, but still, where are the f's?
and
fishing nets...
thanks melon
yw
I see a lot of Fs on Lickety's site. Do you need to reload Jill?
hiton
doh... not only in the wrong place, but not a word
but close to a word Golux! add another consonant at the beginning....
yeah, i got that one... 8-)
sarah, now thats determination. or desperation. i always get the two mixed up...
i'm half watching greys anatomy too.
thanks, stid, that was it
hmmmm - what IS with the Fs? other parts of the list seem OK & i did reload.
i told james i couldnt get on babble and he was like "good!! you need a break!!!" i told him where to stick it : )
yeah it adds up. what a F'n lotta Fs
flear
does anybody have the ch8
i got home from my parent's, threw my purse on the counter and jumped on to the couch with the laptop. I said to josh "30 minutes and 17 words, i can do this" and then couldn't get on. so mad....
Can someone tell me how many words we need for this grid?
wait!
that's not how to spell bubble gum , erda!
i got it!
196 Unc!
196
thank you
i know!! i got here with 75 minutes to finish, and couldnt get on.
I finished, and it died with no fireworks
suc't indeed, wassup & froelica :-|
uncagain u must of blown it up
oh, well to be late is better than to not show up... ....**UNCAGAIN**.... (boom, pop, bam)
:P
lol, that must be it
hello again Bowdy! so we didn't manage to scare you off the other day?
thank you very much, I feel better
hey evryone!!!
mmm no ... were yo trying to?
you*
LOL no Bowdy, but we can be overwhelming to some folks!
hello Maddie!
wow! I am past halfway already!
ch8 - deaths in Venice
would you believe I had that 7 and hadn't pluraled?
stid, you're amazing
one thing i've learner, stidmama is it don't hurt to pluralize everything. this would be a whole 'nuther game if bad guesses were penalized.
learned - but you knew that - cant tpye
MORNING
yeah, that would be insane. we'd all have mega negative points... the point of the game would be to try to break even eventually : )
:-) I am just not thinking clearly this time of day... at least my typing is keeping up with my slower brain!
good morning Scatty! how's the weather today? how are you?
that is not enough hi 5/12 for me on the venice thing
at the moment really sunny, rained yesterday, i went to bed at 7pm, was shattered, have just woke up
stid - have you shortened the Venetian illness? there's a 6 2 7's & an 8
clever Uncagain, clever. Thomas Mann - what did they die of?
terrible deaths linked to stagnant water and mosquitos, still a problem in many places. thanks melonhead! I got them now!
ah, the light dawns, sickly though it may be
Thank you from me too
yw
I didn't work outside at all today (Sunday) spent some time with my mother running errands, and a bit babbling, but otherwise a lost day -- too drizly for gardening fun.
i still have about 200 plants i'm trying to give away as i have made my hanging backets and filled about 2 dozen pots and have no more space, i can't plant in the soil as we will have to move in the near future
hey, my poppies opened this weekend! oriental type, deep cherry red, about 7" across - spectacular!
good for you melonhead! I have just a few this year -- I think I'll need to reseed next Spring. but they are so cheerful and bright!
I am sorry you will have to move -- do any of your neighbors want starts? or people at the grocery or library...
now, the last 2 CHs 6,24 & 7,36. they follow hard work.
I dont have the right kind of discipline for this. I find it very difficult to start in one corner and do all the words, or start with the a and go to the z
i have never grown poppys, i might try some next year, my petunias hace started to flower though and the tomato (cherry) are growing well
I don't do that Unc! I see what hits me between the eyes, then if I use the list I often start from the bottom. But i constantly scan the chat for the ones I don't have.
i tried starting the oriental poppies from seed w/no luck. started them from nursery plants, had to move them to a sunnier spot. took 3 years in all to the 1st bloom - well worth the wait. have divided them several times siince. they like dry sunny location.

also did iceland popies for the 1st time. they are colorful east bienniels - so i hear.
hmm, well it that is good enough for u to do, it is certainly good enough for me too
I think poppies might be easy for you scatty -- they do well here, so ought to be good for you. They like to grow on the side of our gravel driveway.
i'd better get my head down and find some words, see you later
unc - don't be too hard on yourself. have you ever played Boggle?
later scatty!
I am generally thought of as a pretty good boggler
iceland poppies are lovely -- they require slightly different conditions from the others... they haven't done as well for me.
we had to have ch***** shots in China so it's not just venetian. The bug's name is vibrio ch***** (bacteriology memory).
true, venice was a literary reference.
stid, i'd probably plant them at the front of the house, the ground is really shallow there, mainly rocks and rubbish in the soil
i'm going now, see you later
Unc - this is just boggle with a huge vocabulary & a bunch of eccentric kibbitzers.
see you later have fun
by scatty
morning all
hi oggy
Hi oggy

OMG u oldies crack me up

Me too, Cat :)
it's pretty funny even for the younguns
lucinda, old is a relative term. you are very young it seems
if i'm old compared to you, then u must be like 4 years old, but you act like it so...
excuse me jilibuss
I think they invented msn for the kind of chat you are looking for, lucinda.

Night Uncagain

lucinda, maybe you should think about your behavior here. It isn't nice or appreciated. And definitely not mature. I would be very disappointed if I were your parent or teacher.
i wish i had a stick right now i'd wallop you, little girl
25
very old jill, I don't think I have ever heard that word before. Nor do I think anyone speaks that way lol
let's track their ISP and contact their parents!!!
is that why i can't figure this out? LOL
Enable dictionary has some very strange leftovers from ancient times :)
One of their teachers is a babbler
where can I access an enable dictionary sprite?
Miss ABS, I believe
i wish i knew how to do that kierlex
thats the lady sprite
click on the ? beside the word in your list, cat
hi all! who's the newcomer? time to call up dr g?
For a complete list, see http://www.bytefusion.com/products/op/ dm/enable.htm
oh lucinda, did you get scared?
what is sad is they could be learning so much being on here, and instead they choose to play games. I honestly don't recal ever acting like that, in 7th grade? Lordy.....
are they gone?
ty Jill and sprite!
their not listed as 'who's online'
Morning. Anyone know what today's theme is? How's the grid?
lucinda's gone
whoo hooo!!! they're gone!
No need Dippnall, Aussies school kids. Seems to have gone quiet since Miss ABS was mentioned

*they're <vbg>
Certainly seems that way :)

i'll just come back to it later
my almost 8 year old son likes to play with us
well what u old ladies didnt know is that i got a new account and its me hahahaha
so?
wow, very sneaky. why would you even take the time?
oh so your new account isn't from the same ISP? DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's a good place to learn and to undwind
so what
I doubt that paris, you seem to know how to spell, the other didn't
I think I will copy the chat log and send it to Miss ABS
Sweetheart, it doesn't matter how many accounts you make. Your IP can be disabled serverside and it wouldn't make a lick of difference. We're tired of your games now. Goodnight.
I think that might be the best thing to do.
good idea saphyre
why would they talk abut them selves so rudley?
paris_sux don't you have anything better to do?
Morning!
morning
and if we all submitted complaints about that IP...
good morning rebek
gm rebekb :)

Anyone know what today's theme is?
Or wish-words. I still think we must make our own dictionary.
like squirt. how can we use that q?
Hello...hello....helloo......
hi mattygroves
I think we cannot use that Q. Hi Matty :)
hi matty
is the theme pets?
I dunno - I've got my brother's dog up at the moment, but I don't know if that's the theme.
i never change my icon cuz i just love that jiji cat
The theme seemed to be little pests, not pets... ;)
i wish i had an orange soda right now, like crush. mmm.... i'll bust out a corona instead!
lol sprite
lol sprite
matty, maybe the theme's other people's pets. I've got my parents old dog
We have our own 'mini theme'.
eating mac n' cheese
corona sounds good
oooh baby!
where do you go to find the theme anyway?
Does anyone have a clue for the U-word, please? I am out of ideas.
Lickety's page profile, I think.
i think the theme is handbags, purses
when you're not in shape sprite
hi every1
jayzus, i was trying to find a words for the bottom left a that has 0 words. doh
how funny sprite, took me forever to find that U, and then there it was
We all have a purse already! :) Thanks wassup, so I was being very blind again!

i liked "huh" when your comment wasn't even directed towards katie. :)
funny
Wouldn't that give away to much?
exactly wassup
not so sneaky
*too much (Help, it is contagious!)
Well, completely ignoring the theme, but keeping with pets, my icon is now my daughter (not a pet) and two Komondor - the type of dog I grew up with.
i think i have entered one of the st 5/10 words about thirty times
cute picture mattygroves
be back in a bit everyone
those dogs look like a lot of work. i can't even keep up with my boxers!
It's my daughter's 15th birthday today. Back at school though, after the half term.
i've been staring at a word for 10 min. until i realized it wa a word
Congrats matty!
grrr, I keep trying striate over and over. Will probably try it again tomorrow when I wake lol
happy birthday Mattys daughter :)

last week of school for my 2nd grader. he is really sad.
Night kierlex!
nite kierlex!
Found them, Unicorn. Ar6/7 archaic mperative to express an order of dismissal.
hi all :)
Hey Ata :)
hi Atalante
Thanks, Sprite!
wow im dense thanks
We are not dense. We are just more used to it in the idiot -Y- spelling now, having babbled for so long ;)
i'm really dense because i can't think of that archaic dismissal
Jillibus, only reason I know it at all is that we had it a lot of times in other grids. Try this: Ar + flexible connection between two bodyparts minus first letter.
i was wrong all im getting for a definition is antique... but that doesn't make sense
unicorn, i just googled archaic article of dismissal and it helped
good heavens
got them, but never ever heard the word before
Remember it, it will be back ;) Also spelled with Y.
hmmmmm, ty sprite, will try and remember :)
thanks got the ar words
going now! 60 left - bbl! happy babbling all!
Bye Dippnall, have a nice day.
bye dippnall :)
OK, got my 100, need to go to bed! Night!
Night rebekb!

Good morning all.
Hi Haz
gm Haz
morning Haz
How is the grid today? Yesterday's was so friendly!
morning Haz! I'm back. How have you been? Have I missed lots of small grids?
It's friendly, but not as much as yesterday's. Some strange words and some very ancient words.
Good morning exWren - good to see you back! There haven't been any monster grids while you've been away.
ExWren, wb! We just said a couple of days ago we had so many grids without -RE- and that you would have loved them all.
morning sprite. pity I couldn't take my PC with me! I'm sure hubby would have loved me babbling all day while we were on holiday!
Hehe, nothing wrong with going cold turkey for a while. I don't take my laptop with me on holidays either :)
eeeeee! for all cat lovers: http://www.deviantart.com/view/3424220 3/
Owwwwww!
awww :) Wonderful pic!
And fireworks as well :) Any clues needed before I split?
that guy breeds Norwegian Forest Cats - he takes the most *amazing* photos of them all!
congrats sprite!
Beautiful kind of cat too.
yes, cat -- have you found lw 4/8?
they are gorgeous cats! The one on the right looks like my Nikki!
and talking of cats, why isn't tortie allowed!!
lw? yikes, now I will go look :)
i'm half asleep - sprite got fireworks already??? so you know the lw?
Lw4 is a currency, another babblet.
I don't know ata, it should be!
my monkey is busy typing away, lw , hmmmm
got lw by looking at the list <blush>
It needs two different vowels, Cat.
ty sprite
no shame in looking at the list or getting help jilli. I never get one quarter of these words without some help
What list do you mean, jillibus? Lickety's page?
100 lw** = 1 kwanza in Angola. Aren't you glad you asked?
The A-Z list on Lickety's page
my monkey hasn't found it yet
LW?!
When I started babbling, someone told me (I believe it was Atalante) that only looking up the actual words through a solver was considered cheating. All the rest was... research :)
How do you mean a solver?
my monkey is getting tired lol
me? wow, I'm clever sometimes :) But I agree - how are you meant to learn without be interested and looking stuff up!
Cat, tell your monkey to go hunt vowels only. There aren't too many possibilities then :)
he is, maybe he isn't too bright? lol
he is, maybe he isn't too bright? lol
he is, maybe he isn't too bright? lol
yikes, sorry
I have lost track of how many words I learned through babble. I usually look up the def of words that I do not know too. It is fun ;)
matty, there are some online solvers that solve entire grids.
yayyy! he found it, good monkey :)
Yeah for Cat's monkey!
:)
Do you have the russian monarch too?
good cat, using good monkey
ts4/4? yes, ty :)
he comes through for me sometimes jilli :)
No more clues needed? Then I will take my leave :) Have a great day/night/whatever and happy hunting all!
bye Sprite!
night sprote and thanks
ty sprite!! bye!
sprit sorry
I've learnt so many words too - I love looking up definitions of ones I don't know :)
lots more clues needed, sprite, but eyes are slmming shut - g'nite & ta
hihihi Unicorn :)
mine are too jilli, nite nite
so tired but it's only 1030 in the morning and im at work
any charity on the ol6? My mind is not cooperating.
I do too Atalante, love learning new words
i don't have any O's sorry
I don't have that one yet either, sorry
I can give the def: Any of a class of unsaturated open-chain hydrocarbons such as ethylene, having the general formula CnH2n; an alkene with only one carbon-carbon double bond.
Thanks anyway U. ^^ I've just realised I've been trying to find it as an ol7 too. /sigh.
Sprite, my brain won't process that many words at once!
lol
Hehe, thank you though, I bet that will help
gee thanks for that def, sprite
Terrible, isn't it? ;) OL + vowel + 1st 3 letters of what racers are trying to reach first
is it really sad that I understood that definition?
Shows you've had too much sleep, Ata :)
No, it just proves you have a superior brain to all of us, Ata ;)
sadder that i 've forgotten my organic chem & biochem
Thanks sprite! That did it.
or spent too many years studying chemistry!
It's not the studying, Ata, it's the remembering that makes that brain superior :)
shame I can't remember *that* much of it then!
what are racers trying to reah/ LOL
what are racers trying to reah/ LOL
what are racers trying to reah/ LOL
see, i can't think of whatracers try to reach :(
the ***ish line
what are racers trying to reah/ LOL
I can safely say that word doesn't spark any memories for me whatsoever.
the ***ish line
what are racers trying to reah/ LOL
are we slowing down again?
Oh fun with the site, again
Is it all going pear-shaped again?
Hello everyone...
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten ****,
Babble is being a pain in the BUTT today.
Hello everyone!!
Aaaargh! I finally got on...all discombobulated....but on. How long do you think a woman would sit staring at a screen that will not load? Well, if you guessed 20 minutes, you win!

congratulations MRP!!!!!
Tinkerbella is trying to eat my laptop - She wants to be fed! BRB
Ah, pissed off is a state of being! go cat!!
Well, I am pissed off too with myself. The CH 6,30 is driving me bonkers. I did thehalf marathon yesterday and have not recuperated.
but where do you check of what the word is? like: between the small child and the illness.
you have to look at lickety's list, and your own, and work out which ones you don't have.
I finally found it czes. I was brain dead and missed the singlular form somehow.
Mia, i have been printing out the list. Is there any other way?
help needed with the lw please
lunch calls....but before I go can I ask you all for a special thought for my son in ITU please :)

Got it. They don't allow the rock monster from Devil in the Dark (Star Trek). Shocking!
Good afternoon all.
cj25. think le** and right, then change the l to a w.
I know Matty! Its a disgrace
Right, I'm missing one of those middle H words, and one from the upper right hand corner.
Haz is in the house!! good morning Haz!
thans mianetro - I was looking at the below We's :(
hey haz :)
oh my, is it afternoon already??
Hi Haz
Hello there - I was here earlier on but was thrown out by the site! Trying to catch up....
i only found it by monkeytyping cj :) the points count will give you a clue. 4/11 means 4 letters totalling 11 points.
warthole? warthole?
Good lord! It is just about Tuesday!!
for you mr p! i wish it was tuesday here, i'm going on holiday tmrw :)
Hello everyone!
hi Haz
miametro!! happy holidays!! you lucky lucky girl!!
okay-sign-I have to go, and if the past few days hold true I will never get the chance to come back and finish. Oh well. It's only a game, it's only a game. But you're right mrp-I miss the company too.
Preethi - how are you?
hi preethi
Hi Pree

Clue for the FL 8 please.
mia - there's a th4/5 that sounds like a man's name
cheers haz :)
Any clues on the W7?
to4/5 - add the first two letters of Miss Ball's name (not Zoe!)
Miss Ball?! lol. who?
was married to Desi
no idea who that is either.
I *feel* that Hewitt against Nadal has the chance of a fruit fly in May on a Fruit Bat farm in the tropics with little more than one fruit to go around!
mother of little ricky
I love L****
...in the sky with diamonds
redhead comedian
Or one of the characters in Charlie Brown.
i'm english! we don't have i love l*** over here :P
You're obviously too young, miametro!
lol. got it now. still a stupid word tho ;p
still lurking....what about the fl8 & w7?
Any clues on the 'fl' 8?
Noone can help with the WA7?
That to4 is the name of a cleaning product over here :)
dont have it yet merk
tolu
Sorry - not get either of those yet.
oops
mrp, hewitt's ok but I do love me some rafa!!
is there any deduction on wrong guesses?
CJ, the wa7 means spendthrift... it works off the 4/8 before it
rafa is my hunka hunka spanish onion!!
cze-if there were we would all be at minus a gazillion
czes, no, thank goodness!!!!
good.
mrp, LOL!!!
thanks jen!
fl8 comes of the f5 - on top of the water more than the rest
mrp-wipe the drool off the keyboard before it shorts out
Thanks Jen for the wa7.
YW Eva! (and good morning all BTW!) :)
what's the word that starts with "un"?
any clues?
Oh, I just got the fl8. Strange word. You can tell from those before and after what five letters it has to start with, then it ends with a comparative suffix.
un5 doesn't work out at the gym
un5: out of shape
Wo-hoo! Half way through and I haven't even gone to the list yet. :)
second clue? :-)
wa7 - one who spends too much on prada handbags!!
fl 8 comes after what you do in the water or a root beer fl*. But it comes before what the ice cream is in the fl* I cannot find a new ending on the fl 5 to make the fl 8
thanks mrp!!! Merp seems to have moved from rage into a deep depression. I really shouldn't torture him this way. Please don't report me. I'll make it up to him later by playing with dental floss (his favorite)
bye! (for real this time)
Merk - make the fl5 more so.
right popping out for a few mins will be back to tackle the Tr's :-D
Thanks, Haz. Haz to the rescue again!
Glad to help, Merk!
Are we on go slow again...
The site is okay for me - are you having problems, matty?
Gotta go and do some work. BBL :-)
Bye Katie!
Bye all for real!! Hewitt need my support! ((Go Nadal))... did I say that??
Talk about divided loyalties. You'll be happy no matter who wins!
this keyboard has a mind of it's own!! ciao!
Yah - I had a 'word couldn't be added' message, and it's slow again.
Oh dear - hopefully it won't spread. It's so frustrating.
i had those errors all night last night...finally just gave up...
Sometimes words aren't registering in the tile stats. My T on the top line went from 1/7 to 5/7 when I refreshed the page.
is the site acting up again? i won't even play today if it is....hi everyone...
ahhh what the f/8 please?
fo 4/8 sorry
Hi templeowl
It was acting up very badly earlier on and I couldn't get back on for ages. It is unpredictable.
hi Haz
Good morning, everyone. How's the grid today?
Hi BGL Off and on
fo plus the start of Mr Kissinger's name, minus the vowel.
does anyone know if dr_g thinks he can fix it?
i have managed to finish despite - but my rankin gis still going down - i think i'll pass for now.
I haven't been in touch, Atalante, and don't know if others have contacted him.
I hope he can *sighs*
An alternative clue for fo4/8 would be to have the same ending as JFK's first name.
I hope he can as well!!
thanks haz
Glad to help M3 - you sounded a little frustrated with it....
yeah i was fours i easy to guess normaly x
I wish Silverclaw would realise that I can't magic cat food out of thin air, and that she'll just have to wait for a few hours for the nice Tesco's delivery to come!!
I've never had a cat, but judging from the comments of the cat owners, they certainly make their food requirements known!
she has food in her bowl, just not her *preferred* food LOL
Having had 2 cats I firmly believed they owned me, not the other way.
Morning, all. No cats here, but the dog will flip his empty dish and roll it around the kitchen to bring it's sad state to my attention.
And I suppose the phrase ' Beggars can't be choosers' will mean nothing to her!
mine are the same way Atalante! they always have dry food set out, but they want the wet food...
I think it was Matty who said to me that dogs have masters, cats have staff.
true haz -- cats arent beggars, they are demanders! hehe
for once LOL this is the other way round - she has wet food and wants her dry food!
my friend has a magnet on her fridge that says "there is no such thing as a cat owner"
I was definitely the staff including the entire family.
We also used to have a rabbit who wouldn't eat the cheap pellets but *had* to have the expensive stuff from a distant pet supply store.
tith
*oopsie*
Well, we all have our favorite foods too.
I wonder do cats get together and compare notes on how well they have manipulated the humans?
Sily's just a year old - so she's moving from kitten food to adult food - the wet food is kitten food, the dry food is Adult "I am a Big Cat" food ...
evan you could of done a word that in the dictionary!!!!!!
I don't know about being a dog's master. When mine returns from a weekend at the kennel (as today), he won't even LOOK at me until I've groveled, scratched, offered treats, and generally apologized for even being here. you've not been insulted until you've been ignored by the dog.
if they do, they just sit about and laugh at us, im sure!
shush up shorty...hehe.... ;)
LOL
cats just generally ignore you. until they need something from you... but then they still let you know that the only reason you are worthy oftheir attention is because they need you for a moment, then they will go back to ignoring you...
Exactly, evan
Charm - how long does the dog go on punishing you?
anyone have a clue for the N on the right?
my dog is looking like I hate her and have ignored her all day ... silly thing. she's only had hours of cuddles and food and a kong full of doggie chocolate and gravy bones adn a long walk ....
Haz - it lasts about half the day, then he recovers by the time my husband comes home and is acting normally. My husband never believes me when I describe Wolfie's earlier behavior!
ni & 2000 lbs
thanks saphyre!
yw :)
ok, time to go get work done, but hopefully ill be back later!!
Well, at least it's not for too long. We've never experienced that with our dog, but then we've always had family looking after her when we are on holiday, so maybe that makes the difference.
bye evanadine
Bye evanadine - have a good day.
our dog won't even look at us for a day or two when we leave him
TR5/10? got what a horse does
Oh, he's a great dog. he just gets miffed about being left. He'll come home and check out all his toys, play with the baby, then nap-nap-nap.
tr5/10 - a characteristic element
tr5/10 = characteristic
And if you put an s in front, you have a jacket fit for escapologists
TR5/10 a horse's gait
whoops got that already I meant the TR18 :)
i have two of those they are both plural of a tr5/10
tr5/18 - I generally think of slinking through bars or a type of slow fishing, I guess.
but both of mine are 6/18...
Thanks charm - that gave me the tr5/18
charm many thanksies
yw - trying to finish before I have to take the monster baby to the md.
howdy all... how's the gridlet today?
what's today's icon theme?
It's quite a nice grid today, I think. I'm just about to leave it to get a few chores done, but have got 130 pretty normal words.
i'm at 99 and am just checking in... we'll see/ ;-)
I'll be back later once the house has been put into some sort of order!
bye, Haz
one of these Tr words - the tr12 I have never heard of - honest!
bye Haz
hints on TR 12?
I think CJ means the tr d/12
?
5/12, i mean
thanks
tr 5/12 - when you are pledged to marry someone, you are their betr***ed
how about the o from the top... I have margarine and it's plural, and ot + ewwww

8:46 amjbp how about the o from the top... I have margarine and it's plural, are you sure thas not Fl5/16 and Fl6/27?
Umm, I don't understand the question?
cj...?
yeah jbp that was a q for you
small insects and not sinking for the fl words... I don't get what you're asking'
when you asked about the o's saying one was a type of margaine so is FL5 and 6 - what Im trying to ask is O what?
ok, the margarine and it's plural (latin plural) are both o words... ol, to be precise
the fl comment was that someone asked after a clue for the fl12, i think.
break time. BBL
bye
I dont think its a well known marg hehe
the ol words are like the chocolate cookie sandwich w/ creme filling, but with L instead of R
That OL word means margarine.
Can anyone help with the re7/40 and the re8/55?
re 7&8 - re + to stay on top of the water (inner tube?)
thanks bunny V
Fab bunny - thanks!
to fl5/16 again
good afternoon everybody:)
hi Jean
mornin'
afternoon lol
DONE...anyone need a clue??
how're you guys doing so far
nolor
oops
Yay, Ouwachita!
huzzah Ouwachita!!
what's up with the lw??
is it welsch?
how many words today please ?
oats
oops
196 total
thanx jbp
Morning, all. For those who like to learn new words, the ol 4 (spelled with either "e" or "i") means a blend; it signifies not only margarine but also the pre-show act in vaudeville in which each performer introduced himself /herself to the audience by means of a brief sample of his/her performing skill
lw a currency
hello
thanks Hetty...
hello scatty
Yvo... how about a different clue --i'm not up on my currency
hi Scatty
lw4...just add a couple of vowels
hey scatty!
Hi there, scatty love. How are you this fine morning? YW jbp.
tr4/7?
thanks aouwachita!
jbp, same word you gave the cookie clue for
bunny? the lw is the same as the ol?
not too bad, have just moved my daughter closer to home, would have preferred to have done the garden today, its lovely outside, i'm not sure why i'm sitting indoors
I don't have a tr 4/7, just a tr 4/5
its Banto origin very hard to clew
oh, sorry, I got lost in the middle somewhere!!
got it!
I monkey typed
jeez, I'm backwards today, I was looking at the th's
tr 4/7 - spell like abrev. for someone who calls the shots in sports games (white and black striped suit)
Um...like a four letter music word (bass c***, treble ****) but change the forst letter.
thanks matty & bunny!
I'm being dumb, and shall have to be slapped with a fish - but I'm missing one of the tr5/10 - I have the one that's a characteristic, and the one that's a pace that horses or dogs might use...
trick - or - tr
afternoon all! back for some more!
hello evanadine
Matty, plural that for the tr 6/18
thats me for a whille bbl hopefully have a good day everyone:)
hmmm - chorati - hi-ya!
bye
Good morning, hurshy
hi hurshy, long time no see
hursh, having a hard time with the ch's? They are a pain today.
try ch 5/14 - assigned housework, ch 6/24 - add the latin vowel endind to the 5/14, then plural for the 7/36
my latin needs inprovement
great clues bunnyv
thx
ty also
They aren't latin, it's a disorder. The other big ch's are a disease. The c's are sickly today.
I knew I was being stupid!
did you get the tr?
i think its a pretty sad comment that i just had to get out some clorox wipes and clean the dust off of my own desk... we have a cleaning crew...what are they getting paid for?!
haw many c (without the h) are there?
there are two ci's
Thank you
he he Eva, you remind me of my husband!!
well, i waited long enough to give them ample opportunity to clean it up...i realize my desk is rather messy, but i prefer not to keep it flat out DIRTY! i swear, all they do is come in + empty the garbage cans -- and sometimes they dont even give you a new can liner, they just dump out the contents of the trash + put the can back with the old, dirty liner! and god forbid you ask them to vaccuum!
any clues on the ci's? i have the one that's like money, but not.
lol, I guess people get away with doing the least amount of work they can for the money they get.
What could these Th's be - I have the small one, the one with too many vowels (th4/5), the one that one may have a sore of if they smoke too much
ci 6/21 - ci + sounds like what you pay at a booth ci 4/5 - ci + opp of off
i hate when that happens at my office evanadine. i have used teabags in my can for days sometimes!
any clues for the last st5/10?
st 5/10 - st + ***s and barley
i actually have spots on my carpet that were sticky (now they are hardened) where they have spilled maple syrup that had been in my trashcan from breakfast -- all because they dont take the whole bag out, they just dump the contents... its pretty nasty
I have the ***s and barly st5 already.
Angel- the place where you buy something
i have one after that, it's what you do to food if you want to keep it. or the name of a shop.
can i get more clues for the ci 6/21?
a place where you buy things... and something a theif did...
the th 4/5 with to many vowels, add a cons (tall one)for the th 5/12
ci 6/21 - ci + cross + another word for old
thanks bunny :)
th 5/20 - past tnse of what a pitcher does with a ball
I have the one for the shop also....and the one for the theif's action
st + vowel, vowel, vowel
The th 5/20's are identical except for the vowel
phantom words for today: short and shorten. unf.
mine are satire and froth
Sorry, the st 4/4, add a vowel at the end for both st 5/10's
Sorry, the st 4/4, add a vowel at the end for both st 5/10's
towel lol
and tunnel
I guess I'm gonna get if no one needs anymore clues?

Allrighty, see ya'll tomorrow...I hope. Have a good afternnon.

el 5/16 - el + sharks have them, el 5/10 - e + fruit of his l***s
thank you bunny!

tough crowd
lol
sorry dis i go from the fe's to fl's
i have no method to my madness
Hey abe and Munner!
dis--one fi is a bird and the other is trhe for of a polecat--like a slang term for stealing . Add a "ch" to the word for a proper fi* of a garment
the bird is often prefixed with "chaf"
thank you hetty! got 'em!
done. about 90 mins.
YAY, scraggly!!!
what's a polecat?
Hi, smithchick. How are things in Arkansas?
Oh, Uni, a polecat is a skunk!
thank you i didn't know that
its a kind of ferret
Okay, I've got to go to girls' camp tomorrow...Fortunately, it's not as hot as it could be. How are you? Are you in treatment?
but if u are buying an st5/10, it is not a skunk , it is a fi***
Been there, done that, and most of the time it was really fun. One year we even got to do rapelling and whitewater rafting.
It is fun, except that every once in a while someone didn't properly tarp there tent and became drenched in a torrential downpour!
How's that for some mixing of the tenses, there!
I start chemo again tomorrow for three cycles. Not looking forward to it, but hope the end result will be good. My nurse sister says this time it will be like putting my hand back in the blender! since I know how awful the side effects are.
Munner, my heart is with you. I wish the very best for you .
best of luck Munner
I hate that for you, Munner...I know some people who can actually go through it with no side effects. Boggles the mind. I hope it does what it is supposed to and you don't suffer too much for it:) How long do the cycles last?
best of luck Munner
stupid chat log
Thinking of you, Munner dear. I have a good friend going through this--she says the radio therapy she is on now is worse than chemo, and no ine cn explain why some suffer so much more than others with the same therapy. It takes all your courage. We all support you. Lift up your heart

seems to be coming back lol
that was weird
been strange all day
same thing happened on sudoku
Take heart Munner! Even the stupd chatlog reinforces what I tried in vain to enter a few minutes ago. Signs.
sumone pinched my word list lol
Thank you all for kind wishes. I have to take steroids the day before treatment, the day of, and the day after so will probably be hitting the puzzle in the wee hours of the night. Then I get zapped, but it may be better this time as I have had 9 months off, actually 6 months since radiation.
clue on we 4/11?
are we still here?
we 4/11- grain on a fabric...sounds like "to have cried" but with a different consonant
definitely check in with us munner, let us know how you are doing
I hate it when I can't get back on! Especially in the middle of a conversation!
At least it's taking words again.
just logging on and what I can see from the chat... {{{Munner}}}
Hi, stidmama
hi stidmama. site is funky right now
so I gather, abe! it was strange last night too before the flip. and then it was okay for a while...
Morning Stid my love. Yes, its funky today. But a workable grid, methinks
I noted with some interest a new thread on BA having to do with Babblers' Blogs. is there any objection to my including a section for Babblers' Blogs on the Resource page?
yes, I got down to 83 to go before I got tired last night. Still listless, so hopeful this will not take the entire day.
it seems to be going quickly so far...
Hi Angelsong! it's an interesting thought -- I think it might be fun to see what others write...
i love reading blogs, angelsong, i think it's a nice idea
stid i just had trouble connecting, now the words wont go in
smithchick, let me try this once again. Back to camping--I had never gone camping as a kid. When we lived in Germany, my husband and I bought a huge tent and took a 3 week camping trip through Germany, ferried to Denmark and up through Sweden. It gave us some great memories.
oh oggy, things were bad when I first logged in, but seem better now. I have no idea why the site has been so strange recently -- I know IronSudoku has also had some trouble.
We had three kids, 8, 3, and 1. It was about this time of year and our little 1 year old Lars would wake up about 2 am because the sun came up then and he wouldn't go back to sleep.
stid its ok now
{{{{{stid}}}} I just now managed to get back into the site
Munner, that sounds like our Matthew! he has always been up with the sun (except for now that he's a teen...)!
it just kicked me off
Could I have a clue for the TH6/21 that isn't to intimidate someone or what you swallow with plz (hiya oggy!)
hi Daisy!
I think I'd better explain that I have had to take some Benadryl for hives -- they seem to still be spreading, so I may have to take more. If my posts get rambling.... you'll know why! :-)
Understood, stid
phone
And I'm finished YEAH!!!! Now I can go mow the yard
Hey stid and daisy! and jakes-mum who I haven't seen in forever! That sounds like a wonderful experience, Munner. I'd never be able to get by hubby to do it. He was in the National Guard for a little
hi everyone, any report on what was up last night?
yay faeriekae!
jakesmum its spelt like the one before it just change last 2letters
Oops...He was in the National Guard for a little while and developed a deep, abiding hatred for camping (unless it is in an RV).

Hi caitlyn!
Yeah for shorty
I apologize for all the server problems. It's been a bad weekend for the server. And I'm sorry to report, the root of the problem still has not been discovered. I still have my spelunking cap on, however...
ty
server spelunking ... sounds like a dangerous occupation!
Thanks Dr God I thought my computer was playing up again!
Is spelunking a word we should try to remember? Will it be in enable??
I like that word!!!
Hi Haz
in7/28 - 8/40 clue please?
spelunking is american for caving, I think
thank you Dr God -- *sending good vibes your way*
hi caitlyn! glad you have nice weather again!
I have updated my icon -- it's the purse my mother got me for my birthday last week --- I love it. Even little place on the side for water bottles!
At long last stidmama we went away in our caravan last weekend and ended up to our knees in mud!!
oh caitlyn, that does NOT sound like fun! but still better than tent camping, I am sure.
hi TO, I don't have the in 7 and 8 yet.... *waits expectantly for clues*
Temple in+ t5/10
stidmama your purse is great
"introit" is SO a word -- *pout*
*lloks for proper to5/10 since the one she has doesn't work*
try tr!!
stid: it is but you're doubling back on the i
tr5/10 is what you're looking for - add an in and you're begging!
thanks TO -- I guess the Benadryl is starting to work.
ok: i have an in6/18 - 7/44 combo sing & plutral which i think you just gave me clues for. looking for the 7 & 8 beneath that
TO -- could I have clues for the ones you already have?
I just updated some of the software on the server, and I'm going to have to reboot it now. The site should return shortly. (Hopefully not more than 5-10 minutes.)
great clue, Haz.. hello to all! I just had to lurk today for the sake of expediency; it is so nice out today that I can't wait to go play in the mud! Fireworks tell me I can do so now.. anyone need a clue or two before I go?
stid: beginning/s
thanks for the warning Dr G!
measure; adverb
whoops, well, bad timing for me, I guess,,, bye all, have fun, and Thanks Dr. G. for your help!
check out my beautiful phantom purse. some day....when i'm rich and famous
hi wassup! very classy!
TO -- I just got the in 7 and 8... do you still need help?
love the purses wassup and stidmama. i need help on in 7 and 8 stidmama :) (please and thank you)
the tr 5 that you need to add to is like a peace tr***y without the y -- means a happy nice small gift, then the plural makes a 6... then put the in at the front...
I'm looking for a th6/21 - not the evil words, nor the body part...?
hello, i'm Baaaaaccck
thanks stidmama! great clue
good morning and happy monday everyone!
hey boreetos
hi boreetos! Break time already?
Pleeeze (I have to go home shortly)
matty -- I don't have that th 6/21, but waiting for clue...
breaktime indeed. came none too soon this morning.

Well, I gotta go - daughter's birthday calls (15)
Got it! I'll get a clue gathered.

bye stid, happy b-day matty!
bye matty
sleep well stidmama
Im back used the time to water the garden! Hi boreetos
But I've got to make the evening meal! Anyway, th6/21 is an anagram of what is mixed with vinegar to make dressing, plus a third vowel at the end.

Yes cadfan
Thanks
Good afternoon. Back to see if I can finish the last 50 words. How's everyone else doing?
Hi BGL Ive finished. Its not too bad today
alright bgl, 44 left. it's coming along...
I've just added Babblers'Blogs, a new hit counter, and a new search tool to the Resource pages....
Angelsong I would be lost without your pages Thanks
I would give you my blog url, but its friends locked so there ain't much point unless people are on LJ and I can give them access!
this is one of my best grids ever, i'm doing really well
Go hurshy Go !!!!!!!
the grid was fairly easy today....I'm hoping the site will behave better with Dr G's tweak this morning.
hi babblers.
easy? :( oh i thought i was improving
Hi Annie
hi annie
Can someone answer a question please.... Why do you loose points by not finishing a grid?? I couldnt yesterday because of site problems
caitlyn, have you read the rankings explanation? it's an average of the percent of points you get on your puzzles... better for rank not to play at all than to partially play
I'm back and trying to put in all the words that I couldn't enter earlier. It's the 1st beautiful day in a looong stretch and I'm inside. Thitting in my thoft chair. I could une help w/th words.
there's a formula for scoring on the rankings page, however, it is rough to be penalyzed for not finishing when there are 'technical difficulties'
hi gramma
Or use help? Hi abe
Thanks hurshy
i'll give you a weird one gramma. th 6/21 - th + anagram for what you mix with vinegar to make dressing + another vowel (clue courtesy of haz)
I need 3. I think they're toward the top of the list. Somewhere around the sulfar and theoar lock
TY that was one I was missing
TY abe...shall we plead with Dr God !!!!!!!!
it's unfortunate, definitely. i didn't babble yesterday ( i made a deal with hubby), but other babblers had problems and couldn't finish also
ok - the vinegar clue isn't cutting it for me - I've tried every combination I can come up wiht
yeah that clue is a bit off
the trick is, cadfan (it took me awhile too) is the incorporate the vinegar partner with the other vowel. let me see if i can think of another way to state it
you should put th + vowel + the anagram
thanks hurshy
and start from the lower t
thoiol
4 th vowel
with that said, i'm going to lunch now. see you all later
sorry! not it
hmm.. then then I am thinking of the wrong this to mix with vinegar
LOL gramma Bye abe
may i please have a hint for the re8/55?
gramma - I'm trying the same thigns you are...
cadfan if you tried that then you are thinking of the right thing to mix with vinegar
re+ what a boat does + plural
a boat other than the titanic that is...
okay - then I'm just not coming up with the right combos
gramma was really close! I finally got it. First three letters are correct, then mix up the last.
thanks cadfan..wasn't thinking.
it's very greek looking if that helps
okay - I got it.. I was trying to make the anagram start with a vowel
I got the 5/12. I was looking for the 6. the 5 is th + 1st person pronoun and the 1st 2 letters of a Spanish cheer
LOL good one Hurshy!
gramma the six is th + vowel + different anagram than you used for the 5
Now that was a mouthful. Got it, ty
Im really excited ..Im going tomorrow evening to see Dame Shirley Bassey on her farewell tour!!
you know it's really unfair they never let us have any alien species on here
oooh so close to having tolerate
Do you mean me hurshy?
not even men. alien, yes. enough letters, no :(
no, i mean i wanted "horta" and "tolerate"
lol ata
i'm glad you're excited though caitlyn, even though i have no idea who dame shirley bassey is
and we could almost get tolerant and intolerant
hurshy, maybe this will help. shirley bassey is the singer who does the background singing for the movie "goldfinger"---james bond movie
enjoy the show, caitlyn
i've heard of goldfinger
Are you kidding? One of the greatest Welsh + international singers ever!! Have you heard her sing Gold fing ..Big Spender.+hundreds of others Thanks Annie
Sorry hurshy if i sounded a bit snappy then
it's ok i'm sure i always sound snappy when people don't know much about star trek :)
Well im done for then because i dont!!
lol it's ok as long as you don't say "star track" or ask what the difference between star trek and star wars is
LOL
Is there a difference?!?!? :)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK
you're so mean BGL
OOOOOOOH BGL
torturing a poor little hursh like that
Dame S B what a woman!! Sung the theme tune to many a 007 James bond Movie, nevermind her career. My parents saw her singling live way back when, just before she was dicovered.
THere's a reason I love Spaceballs so much... I don't really care for Star Wars or Star Trek. I remember in elem school watch Trouble with Tribbles several times as a "reward" for good behavior...
I saw her perform over here in the states. she is wonderful.
ah, tribbles :)
i liked galaxy quest though
I have found a fellow admirer FMitch Can i suggest her as a icon theme?
I would put her up as an icon. She has a wonderful voice.
i'll pass that suggestion on to babbler caitlyn
Course you can caitlyn - the voice, those legs and the dresses!!!
Hey HAz!!!
Good evening - finally we meet!
LOL for a Monday it has just been so busy!!!
TY all How about on my birthday 28th June?
Are you babbling or not FMitch?
I in***** you, fellow babblers, what are the in's before that word. IN6 and 7 please.
well it's booked up quite far in advance caitlyn but i'll ask her to switch it around
Not babbling, only just finished work and am to knacked to be honest, just thought I would have a quick look at the chat and got sucked in (of course)
gramma - one's a preposition, one's a unit of measurement
i still need two i's so i don't know if there are more there
Thanks hurshy........I must go to get supper catch you all tomorrow...Happy babbling all Bye
It's disastrous to just have a look FMitch! The site has been acting up today so I'm just glad to get the chance to finish (hopefully)
gramma~ in+to4 (then plural)
hurshy, I have the 4 letter 1's. I need the biggies. Are your clues still correct for those?
no BGL's clue is what you need (and what i needed!)
TY. Got 'em
woohoo 15 left
Bye caitlyn Haz, what with the site playing up and being so tired popping into the site for 10 mins is not going to make me play (I know I speak evil by saying that) LOL
13 left and the sun is going behind the clouds again 8(
I need 2 r's (probably both fish words) I need an ra (I have the animal) and the re5/10
the other ra is also an animal, as atalante taught me :) it's a funny way to spell a sea creature - lotsa vowels
told you you'd never forget that again!
re 5/10... add the beginning of the name of the fine babbler i just mentioned :)
But there are some lovely words...... and lots of points to be had...... and you know you really want to...... Just relax thisevening, it sounds as though you've earned it FMItch!
ATALANTE - can you help me with the sea critter??
BGL, boy am I glad you asked that. I looked and it wasn't there. I had entered a bunch earlier on licketys list, when the site wasn't working. Then I forget to transfer them.
Thank you... I shall never forget that sea creature! :)
Haz,I thought you were my friend!!! LOL I will not ben enticed in. just happy to chat for a little while and wind down.
or BGL - help me to remember the sea critter too?
evening all. 72 left, but all the evil vowels are finished. horray!
*thinks* there are types called manta, eagle, devil etc. turn the last letter into 2 vowels
atalante - ty ty ty ty - got it (is that afish for me<, as well?)
Completely stuck on the ch8/50. Any clues please?
9 left. CI 6?
yay for gramma
begin like a class of fruits and end with the spanish cheer
hydra, it's a (water i think) disease, plural. think there was a book called "love in the times of ch*****" as well.
ch8/60 is a plural form of a nasty disease, particularly associated with poor sanitation
Hydra --- think of the book "Love in the Time of "CH*****"
wow miametro and kkiln are really on the same wavelength
hurshy, ty, ty, ty!
Great clue Haz!!
hehe. i'm a big fan of books :)
no thank you gramma you got me to know it was there!
I don't know that book! Will have to Google it. Does the ch7 word follow on from it (the 2nd one?)
It takes away the last vowel (ch7)
Got it!!!!!
RE 5/16 Re 7 and RE 8. Then I can go out and play.
re 5/16 what you do to the enterprise after a long mission of being fired at by mean aliens before you send her back out on her next voyage
re+what a boat does in water
re7 not sink, again and re8 pl

warmer
snap BGL :)
come on, people, ask for more F, S, or L clues :)
warmer?
Sorry, hursh, I already ahve those letters complete. I'm on these annoying THs now
it's a very twisty turny word in the grid - think of browned bread
mia~ think breakfast food+comparative ending
ah, thanks guys :)
well i can help with th's if you'll kindly alert me to the presence of any F, S, or L words you might happen to think are odd

well think about those points then miametro
Last 2 - th6/21&7/32

FINISHED!
i just need 2 5's and 3 6's now...
yay bgl!
3 S's and an F and an L

YAY bgl! Love the Tinky Winky icon :)
I love finishing before Josh gets home from work! ;)
urgh, and please, some help on the last ta 5/18?

Hurshy, you're too quick with these clues!
sorry :(
what are these silly words?! lol.
thanks!
YAY BGL!
I have to make do with 94 words...bye all
i keep forgetting about that addition of a vowel thing!
and what's a pledge to do harm?
Well, the drier just buzzed. Off to finish laundry. Good luck everyone. See you tomorrow.
bye bgl
see you tomorrow BGL!

Ge. Missed being the one to make you say ahhhh!, mia
lol
What is the second sa5, please?
yay hetty!!!
I mean the only sa 5, i have the sa4
and yay to you too, hursh
oh oh well then - person who cuts wood
i was yaying cause i thought there was another sa5
just the 2 sa then, everything else is st?
Too true, I'm stupid about numbers of letters --among many other things. Anyway, got the cutter of wood, many thanks hiursh
woohoo, all the t's done :)
I have half of the st's. Stuck at the 5's and 6's
hrm. missing wa 7/44..
well me too apparently.
clue for the 3rd fo4,7 please
i've found so many st's already...it's hard to find any more
emsuing - how do you know you need the third?
wa 7/44: aperson who takes.spends.uses more than they need, and doesn't use all of it.... hurshy, that is for you and mia
oh stidmama, i was responding to hetty. but thanks anyway :)
just found it. but thanks stidmama :)
i just need 5's and 6's
the third fo4/7 is the place fo**ified against invaders
S, F, and L
no it isn't hetty
that's the fourth
oh -- sorry, this Benadryl has me really out of it. :-( but still finding words!
the third is what you yell about your golf ball coming
...unless you mean the word that looks like flowers wirthut the "l"
but since the first 2 are the weird ones i wonder if emsuing doesn't really want the third anyway
ha. i just typed in 'fowl' totally convinced it was there.
hurshy, i think i need the third according to the babblecluey thing?
i jsut got it though!
In that case, em, it's the word like flowery without the l
thanks
both l's Glad you got it, em
hetty -- I finall got the idea! emsuing, It's LATING for "flower" then two plural, one Latin one English
meant "Latin" grrr.
hmmm i need just 3 more words and they are all S's, i feel this is fishy
go hurshy go!
down to 48. going for the list because I am just not "clear headed" today.
27 to go. f's, l's, h's and s's. oh my.
go mia go!
lol
How many words today?
stid, this pollen is getting to us all -- no shame at all, my friend
196 palmlady
missing the very last ho 5/12. before the opp. of cold.
not pollen -- hives. No idea what triggered them, but have to take massive doses of Benadryl to get an effect...
miametro do you mean the jewish dance?
It sounds like an equine mixed with a Scandanavian man (ho5/12)
got it :)
i had a date like that once, Haz. ;-)\
Once being the operative word!
indeed!
ci 6/21 please/
stid, soooo sorry! hives are unpleasant. I've just got an eyelid that's puffy and red-violet -- quite attractive :)
ci + rhymes with what you pay on the highway
thanks ABE
me too, ty Abe
hives are rotten... i am allergic to the sun... which is even worse than my penicillin allergy
is there a word between something a thief does and a shop in the st's?
hi kids.
hi boreetos
oh mich, I am so sorry -- have you tried putting a cold teabag (real tea, not herbal!) on it?
mia --not in my list there isn't, but I'm not sure
hi boreetos
hi again boreetos!
or a cotton ball with witch hazel (eye closed)
st/5 stuffed with***** stuffed with hay
hi boreetos
thanks, stid & jbp -- I did the teabag last night & it seemed better, but this morning, all puffy again -- I like the witch hazel idea. Can't breathe well either, but the eye is most annoying
have you tried taking a benadryl? sure, it'll make you sleepy, but it will calm down the itch
have you flushed your nasal passages with salt water? Sometimes that helps with airborne allergies....
handbag theme today? I'm still representing pretzels from like a month ago. :)
eek i said a word!!! i'm looking for an ar 6 word
sig of the ar 7
jbp, I am sorry you are allergic to the sun. completely? or just have to avoid it as much as possible?
also, chocolate helps. ok, not really, but, at least you get to have some chocolate!
hi, clue for in7,28, thanks
luckily this is the absolute worst time of year for me allergy wise -- I'm taking claritin and chlortrimeton (sp?) on top of that when it's too much itchy itchy -- it's more painful than itchy --- (perks up ears) Chocolate???!!! Good idea!
good morning everybody!
hello Fran!
if i get sun, i hive. and freckle, eventually. but mostly hive
hi fran
morning Fran
hi fran!
went to sleep early last night so i still have 127 left!
it's my wasp half
hiya fran
hi stid, boreetos, abe and mich!
{{{jbp}}} I don't know what I would do if that happens, I love my garden so muc!
don't have the in 7 word./.. still looking for some ar words...
hi jbp
the ar 6/ and 7: ar + o*** (first four letters of a skin creme)
oh, jbp, I'm sorry to hear that, too. I'm of the pasty celtic freckled variety, but do okay with spf 30 -- the sun helps with the S.A.D. that affects so many of us in the Pac. N.W.
ok, don't get me wrong, i still go out. I just sleep soundly afterwards (b/c of benadryl). we have a gi-normous raspberry thicket in our backyard and I'll be stained, hived and scrathced once they come out
in 6/7: in + th 5 (to promise to be mean)
SAD is horrid --i lived in Scandinavia for awhile...eeek!
jpb, that's the spirit!! what a trooper -- but, hey, fresh raspberries are so wonderful
thanks, i think :)
I am still looking for the ci 6...
horray, s's down :) 18 left.
let it NEVER be said that there is anything wrong with the pasty-freckled variety.
i'm one of those :)
especially celtic.
I am very fair skinned, but rarely burn and never freckle... :-) though as I get older my skin is less peaches and cream than wrinkled and tired...
and the english of course too. :)
Morning fran. You've got the sign, I've got the bag.
go mia go!
hi frances, i tried to find a birkin, but all the pics i found look like fakes, you found a nice one though!
((( lost you guys for a sec -- scary ))))
me too, michelle -- thought it was just me though!
its weird, I lived in California for the first 18 years of my life and never could keep a tan, i would just burn and peel. I move to Seattle, land of grey skies and rain, and now tan sticks like glue. It's quite odd.
Hi one and all
(( couldn't finish last night with 16 left, tried for 1/2 hr then gave up ))
hi annie!
hi Annie!
mich pdx, i lost it all for sec too, refresh took care of it though.
hi annie
boreetos, Seattle is a magic place!!
hey where'dy'all go???
Lucky needs someone to play with him for a sec... brb
it is called the Emerald City!
it's the land of my childhood & early adulthood, family all still there
mich, what took you to Oregon?
boreetos, which sign company do you work for? way back in the early 90's I worked for Tim Girvin Design as an admin --- I came to Oregon to get a master's in Architecture and didn't leave the gravitational pull... haven't lived in Sea-town since 1994, but visit all the time
i could do with one of the fe5/16s... i have phobias, accomplishments, and criminal of a serious nature
emsuing, di d you get in6/7?
stidmama - are you still looking for the ci6? I was thrown off for a while there.
hi haz
ci 6 ci+***house morsels
jpb, do you have the lavish spread of food?
mich, how did you know I was even hungry? ;-)
anks.
thanks, i mean.
SignTech Environmental Graphics LLC. Formerly of Mountlake Terrace, now of Mukilteo.
'm still looking for those ar 7 and 6....
are your words showing up in the word list??
Une? wht do you mean?
jbp, what kind of house? i tried adding cat but it didn't work <g>
ar6/18 - has the same ending as a body part which connects two bones together.
hi une! im not having a problem
it's taking a while, actually
yes but i keeep getting messages to refresh
thanks ever so, Haz!
my mom+step used to live in Mukilteo, my sister just moved from Mountlake Terrace! Mom moved back to Queen Anne 6 years ago, downsized & now my sister's living in our family home with her 4 kids
ah we're operational again
can i have the point total for the day please?
hey hurshy!
You're welcome jbp.
the words i had before are not showing up, just the ones i've entered in the last couple of minutes--i refreshed and it just keeps saying "word list is loading" but it's not . . .
hi boreeeeeeeetos
hi uneaixoise!
hi hurshy
hurshy, the point total is 2503.
when did you refresh une? maybe try refreshing again cause that was happening to me too but it's ok now
hi fran
thanks vioxx :)
thanks for the ci 6 jbp --
ugh, I seem to have lost several words (dives back into the grid) *splash*
yw... there are an awfully lot of ch and th words... and st...and tp....eek!
i guess i technically live in Bellevue at the moment, but that's changing in July. My dad lives out in Fall city, even further from Seattle. I like it, I don't so much miss Ca.
calling jbp! you said ci6 was ci+***house morsels. can you elucidate please?
rhymes w/ what you pay on the hi-way
whew--refreshed again and now all the words are there!
I used to go to Camp River Ranch, out Fall City / Carnation way. It's beautiful out there & yummy strawberries!
thx jbp
Hello everyone...
its all true. strawberries are delicious. There's some good blueberry licking out North Bendish too.
hi douglas
does chifon have 2 f's? i guess it must
hi douglas
hi douglas
hi douglas
brb folks, fussy baby
that should have said "picking" but its works both ways i guess. :)
hello douglas!
This seems to be like Cheers...
i am missing an st 5/10 and i have look very hard, begin, a latin plural, rhymes with what you sail in, took what didn't belong to you, and a place where you shop... anyone have the other?
d'oh! dragged back from the grid!!!! by strawberries & blueberries.... worth it
yes chiffon has two f's
weh
NORM!
do you have what's on the floor in barns?
hurshy?
hints on some of these ch 6 words? i have jay leno's most prominent feature, that w/ different final consonant, that + not off, daily task....
yes, i need a 5/10, anyway une
oh, sorry
a lot of them require pronouncing ch the greek way - a disease and related words
The latin plural can be given a different vowel ending again.
brilliant, thanks haz!
hi haz!
i don't get the latin plural clue?
Good afternoon boreetos - are you well?
do you mean of layers?
struggling with the fl 5/16, 8/55, 6/27 are they a "set"?
crapola*, i gotta get back to work. thanks for the chat all! say hi to P-town for me Mich! fine haz! thanks! be back in a few hours.
yes stid... dead fish do this belly-up
later boreetos!
st4/4 (greek colonnade) can have a latin plural ending st5/10 or st5/10 end with a different vowel
latin? layers?
* little known fact: crapola is a division of Crayola, only they make really bad crayons that break a lot and smell like feet.
stid, rootbeer & icecream
bye!
"This very night with baited breath and muffled *** Without a light as still as death we'll steal ashore."
LOL, boreetos, see you later
st+vermin+plural ending?
lol boreetos
douglas...um, to what was that reference?
lol boreetos
are you all having issues with babble not working or is it just moi?
The singular of a o 4/4...From the first act finale of H. M. S. Pinafore.
okay, thanks. got the 5 and 6, looking for the 8...
No, jbp - take the last letter from the vermin to get the greek colonnade, then work the plurals from there.
ah, gotcha
to douglas. Haz, you've lost me again
thank you, haz
stid, it's more..... and there's an re+ related to them, too
i got st***vowel
aha! the fl 8 is a comparative! (i am so clever...)
thanks for the re clue michelle!
indeed, stid...more dead flshlike
When I was in Edinburgh two weeks ago, I took a picture that include the Firth of *****
Okay, have you got the st5/10 - the furry creature? Take away the last letter, you have a greek colonnade (who'd have thought?). Then you can make it a latin plural by adding a vowel, then replace it with another vowel for another st5/10
kierlex - babble's been having troubles on and off for several days
all ya'lls clues are harder thanthe babble =)
ok, thanks hurshy...
colin firth? you saw colin firth???
oh, i was thinking of the vermin that rhymes with its predator...
lol hursh
n.p. stid, oh, kierlex, you wouldn't want to be handed the words, would you?
thanks Haz!
no but i get distracted by trying to figure out the clues and completely ignore the babble part =)
that varmint is very British, mine's what Kierlx's icon hunts....
thx haz, got those st's
How do you tell the difference between a st5/10 and a weasel? A weasel is weasily recognised but a st5/10 is st***ally different.
kibble?
hehehe
re 7 and 8 please
bwah ha ha ha ha!!!
again, thank you, haz. i am still listless so the clues from chat really (!) help.
I saw neither Colin Firth nor the Firth of Colin!
no kierlex. big big mousies
oh HAZ! that's funny!! thanks
LOL
ROFL HAz!
i know, just kidding...
those re words related to the fl ones
you know, i stayed home from work with a %@^%@ migraine but yet i am still able to babble LOL
thanks jbp
or, in the case of my 2 cats, they just sit on the mousies. and look confused
hurshy, what are the in 6 and 7 combo that come before the 7-8 combo?
oh kierlex -- hope your head/eyes/ears/tummy feel better soon...
my cat brings them in half dead and then lets them loose where they miraculously recover and then we have to trap them
Kierlex, I guess Babble rules.
he has brought in snakes, bats, mice, squirrels and a baby bunny! i want to know how he caught the bat!
yeah, my old cat Jarl used to drop them on the floor and then pick them up and play handball (pawball?) with them against the wall.
thx stid, i am feeling better after taking some migraine drugs. as long as i do not move my head i am fine. thus, babble is perfect =)
not the brightest bulb on the string was he
babble has restorative properties!
kierlex, what a cat! mine used to get mice & baby rats, then fully grown, but then we moved & now he just eats bugs & spiders & bees (also none too bright, but pretty)
stidmama - add words relating to a particular type of lawsuit.
yes. i am sure it does.
in + a civil lawsuit
fully grown rats, that is
sorry i was over at sudoku
thanks hurshy1
down to 27!
go stid go!!!
ok, back to work with me, bbl
thanks Haz
well we finally closed the cat door and haven't had as much fauna left in the dining room. it was getting distracting accidentally stepping on dead critters and trying to explain the carnage to my 3 year old girl
when I get married, between the 2 of us, there will be 4 cats and a dog...
oh and kids
is that Qu used at all?
later michelle!
nope no qu
jbp -- 4 cats and a dog here, too! glad not to be the only crazy one!
thanks jbp i keep fixating on it
these ch words are killin' me
good day peoples!
the dog gets along with everyone. mixing 2 + 2 cats will be.... adventurous
hi, chiclet
hello chixie!
hi chic!
ch 6/24 a kind of fabric (i think) usually spelled with a z
that will be a wild party for a while jpb
hi chic
hey jbp and nutty!
ch 6/24 rhymes with what your cat or dog might be wearing
Hi kierlexand Stid!
of our danes brought a baby rabbit into the house, totally uninjured but the poor thing died of fright!
ch 7 a disease (adds a letter to prev 6), ch8 pl
and there's pl of the ch6
ok, thanks for the disease
so to speak
ch 5/14 rhymes with no4
no 5/14 please?
6/24 homonym of asian country
no 5/24 some guys put these in their belts when they "score"
"All the world is God's own field, Fruit unto His praise to yield, Wheat and ****s together sown, Unto joy or sorrow grown."
thanks for the 5/14
thanks hursh

nice quotes, douglas
Nice Pat Benatar reference, jbp
and i definitely don't get the scripture one
chaf?
glad you liked that douglas
ch 8/50?
can the disease be plural?
apparently so
jbp - it sounds just like an asian country...not china or japan but...
have 1 more 8 to find. any help? have the plural disease, more buoyant, buoys again, and more warm.
pleads, begs, pk
thanks hurshy!
first 6/24 i still lack
douglas tends to give random clues as he finds words, not in response to anything, so don't get confused folks :)
jbp, the one that sounds like what your cat or dog might wear?
phew, i'm back! can't get this page to load today!
good to know, hurshy. ;-) i was trying to make stuff fit, and it...you know... wouldn't
nut, you're makin me wanna do the hamsterdance

oh, i don't think i will, i like the hamster :)
thank u hurshy! took me a minute to figure it out, but i got it!
come now hurshy, i have a marvelous handbag!
Hello. I hope today's grid is in better condition than yesterday's. I finally gave up on it after a while when I couldn't get in for something like 2+ hours.
well nut i clicked on you so i could see the handbag - is it a frog, or a turtle?
the very last ta -- 5/18?
thats me dine bye
my ch's go like this: leno's biggest facial feature, change the consonant (both 4s). my first 6 is that one +not off

temple, they're connected to the fl words
pleads, begs, temple
what dead fish do
In plus what you get at halloween trick or tr****
There are 4 ro words, of which ro4/7 is the most 'strange'. Think of a man's name with a lupine ending.
hurshy???
scratch that hint i just gave
jbp, i don't see sink in there anywhere
not focusing
there's also an re 4/7...
lol evanonut!
the first th 6/21?
yes temple?
ro ==the pissy kid in sound of music who whistles at the end
I am missing the RO 7 then, huh---I will keep monkey-typing.
th6/21 starts like the 5 before it and ends like what you often say while playing babble (2 vowels)
leisel's boyfriend in the sound of music

oops, drop the f, sorry
and the other is what kids build, a fo** in the backyard
yiles, i am sorry, drop the L on that one
fo words:wind in germany, fo+egyptian sun god, prior to, garisson, fo*** of fifth, garissons

omg, jen, that rocks
i'll put myslef in the ro++ of helper to you hetty
hetty, do you have the boy's name (leisel's boyfriend in the Sound of music)?
ty, jbp!
oops, that's a 4/4... in the Producers... it's true I come from Dusseldorf, and that is why they call me Ro++
He who steals my purse steals trash/ But he who takes from me my good nam takes that which no man can replace" Jen, I don't remember his name I'm afraid
ro++ing is a type of Swedish massage
lol -- think werew***
this is a test!
jbp I have hat ro***. It's the next one
I believe it's Falstaff who said that, hetty
Hetty--that's Iago in Othello
Got it! Thanks for the help everyone. Doug, aren't you going to sing any more? Yup. Falstaff it was
I'm bouncing between grading papers and finding words...
ta.... anagram of to rip, stickystuff+vowel, type of cards and plural, sticky stuffs... i'm missing something in there....help?
Iago also. Many of Shakespeare's bon mots occur in more than one play
oh, anagram of blu/green colour
3 more ta words...my last is the queen of hearts stole some ta+++...
For example, Cleopatra and Juliet say exactly the same thing about the men they respectively love
I was looking for the Monty Python for the Piranha Brothers sketch, when thinking about what the Queen of Hearts baked...
nmaely "Give me my (Antony) (Romeo) /and when he dies take him and cut him into little stars/ And he will make the face of Heaven so fine/ That all the world will be in love with night..."
unless those baked goods are the last of the ta words, in which case I need the preceeding ones
Do you teach English, Douglas?
Vercotti: I had been running a successful escort agency -- high class, no really, high class girls -- we didn't have any of *that* -- that was right out. And I decided (phone rings) Excuse me (he answers phone) Hello......no, not now......shtoom...shtoom....right..... .yes, we'll have the watch ready for you at midnight.......the watch.....the Chinese watch....yes, right-oh, bye-bye.....mother (he hangs up phone) Anyway I decided to open a high class night club for the gentry at Biggleswade withInternational cuisine and cooking and top line acts, and not a cheap clip joint for picking up ***** -- that was right out, I deny that completely --, and one evening in walks Dinsdale with a couple of big lads, one of whom was carrying a tactical nuclear missile. They said I had bought one of their fruit machines and would I pay for it
Alas, no, I'm teaching a computer networking class...
Well you are highly literate (I almost want to say for a computer g***)
jbp: baked goods are NOT the last ta's. There's a sing/plural that rhymes with a famous leaning structure.
thanks gwenski --anagram of h2o...
then there's still one more ta 5/18 after that?
Yep. The last one could rhyme with an expression found in a comic book.
awesome clue gwenski -ty!
Glad to help
the to 5/10?
or to 8/40?
That's very nice of you, hetty.
first to5/10 is good with butter and jam
to 5/10...warmed bread
thanks gwen

you're very welcome peri
we4/11?
we4/11 rhymes with re4/11
i object - if the fl8 can have the ier ending, then why can't it have just the ie ending?? other words like the to8 fit the same bill i say...sorry if i gave too much away there
peri: think of weaving... on a loom... warp and we++
Firefly, because it ends in 'y' until turned into a comparative.
Golux, don;t know much about weaving, but figured it out with your help, thanks
pshaw :)
tell the truth, i don't know anything about weaving either, except some of the terminology.
wa7/44 - it is not comparative of wa4/8
fl 8/55?
peri: wa7/44 = ne'er-do-well
Golux, thanks again
i'm missing an st6/18... from the list, it appears to come between the 5/10 (mink) and the 5/10 (shop)... but i am darned if i can find it
wa7/44 - a squandering minst*** I for the last 3 letters
missing the wa4/8 right before the wa7
it's 4/7 of that wa7...
ty, jillibus

4/5 of garbage...
thanks Golux, you are a godsend today
golux, it's one who is not much for showing emotion

Golux, it rhymes with the : punctuation mark.

it starts like the mink one, but ends like the opposite of off
I swear I tried that... thanks
good clue Vioxx
anyone have a hint for the last s 6?
past participle of the preceding st5
a messy room has clothes st**** all about
Now I'm in the "Get the st's act. I cannot find the 3 between golux's request and the 3 last ones which begin stR
Thanks, gwenski, I had thought of that word, but went to the wrong w
st 6 sounds like the straight and narrow with alternate spelling
ST 6 Sylvester St*****
I have gwen's clued one and the 2 preceding
something is messed up on the Lickety list... i'm looking for the last ta5/18, but it comes after the ta6/30, and I don't see any way a ta5 can come after that ta6 alphabetically
st 6 just like straight and narrow alt. spelling only change the last vowel from the 1st vowel to the 3rd vowel
str*** of Gibraltor, atmospheric layer,
It works, Golux, use the same first three letters.
ta 5/18 does come after the 6/30 same first 3 letters ends in 2 vowels
Thanks. that's one of the 3
ok, got it... i was doing the math wrong
the other two STR's are layers, Hetty... two different plurals...
faerie, I tried your suggestion and got red
I'm stuck on ar 6 & 7. I'm guessing they're connected?
LOL
Thanks golux, I'll try that
Oh, faeriekae, I LOVE@! your bag@!
Thanks Munner yours is also really cute
ar 6/18 ar + first 3 letters of a pig sound + *-shirt
ar 7/28 plural
and it worked! Thanks again, Golux
hetty, just read your profile and see we share the same number of children and grandchildren. I say, "Lucky hetty and Munner!"
The 3 witches in the Scottish play-- AR**** thee witch, the rump-fed ronyon cries..."

and congratulations on winning to boot, Munner.
YAY Munner!

un: out of shape
hi wassup -- why are you taking Benadryl? I have hives today. :-(
libarebel - LOL at your handbag!
the UN... well, if you can't get it, then you are not suited to the task... 8-)
of course it is, gwen! thanks!
un5/18--not suited for

ty, munner :D
and thanks golux and libarebel!
garden implements?
allergies. my eyes are going to fall out of my head. SO itchy
seejay plural your 7/36, and drop a letter for from the 8 to get the next 7/36
yours is lovely, munner! :-D
or actually, people that use them?
yw, stid & hi!
th6/21, after the one that rhymes with a fur wrap, before the one that rhymes with hay... any help?
I use e'm...:)
Stid: ho combo--what we call the person who takes a small ho* and a shovel or so and digs till he gently perspires
Thx Munner and all the best!
Done. coulda sworn I had tried the garden implements gwen and hetty, but that is what I missing!
Munner--I'm a breast cancer survivor. So are you!
okay, I'm really going home now. Bye all
no help on th6/21? between the th5/12 that rhymes with a fur wrap and the th5/20 that rhymes with a drinking tube?
hang on golux, let me look
th6/21 is what someone does when they want to scare you.
bye gwen, thanks again.
there's another one two words before that... that is the one i'm looking for
Golux - it's a weird one - a stone tomb of Mycenaean Greece shaped like beehive :)
k, it's a wierd one. th + 4th vowel + ** and behold + 3rd vowel
wendrie, JINX!
i'm heading out again too -- just too fuzzy headed to give decent clues yet. I'll try to be back later.
got it... again, i swear i monkeytyped that a while ago... thanks
bye stid
sure, i had to get a clue for it earlier too.
anyone got a clue for the in 6/18 and 7/28?
in+to4/4 then plurel
hi kids.
hola boreetos

thanks liba, it's the kate spade that i covet
OK, I'm brain dead today. It is the 'ta' 6,30 for which I need a clue. Thanks.
bye wassup, hope your better soon
bye, wassup!
Plural the first ta5,18
I haven't found the ta 5,18 yet. It's the only other one I'm missing, I think.
bye wassup
hi guys, who's got the ol 6/27?
Nope, I see I'm missing the 5/18, 6/30 and last 5/18 for 'ta' and haven't found a sign of them.
anders, ends like a fish appendage
ta + the third person past-tense being verb (first three letters)
3rd-person *plural* past-tense being verb, that is.
merk, the 5/18 sounds like the to*** of london, change first vowel
6/30 is the plural and the last 5/18 starts with the first 3 letters and ends with a suffix that makes it an adjective
franmag, got it! ty.
yw anders!
Thanks, gang, I got all three now.
i can not find any of the 8 letter words!
manicmama, two of them are words that mean 'more than' the 5 letter words before them
actually, more than the adjective form of the 5 letter word before them
ok is, ill see you all tomorrow!
I'm half-done, so I'm going to check out until later tonight.
hi everyone!
I am still lost. Sorry.
manicmama, do you have the fl5/16 that is what dead fish do?
the fl8/55 is more fl5/16y
yes
manic--I am dopey. My husband is dopier; get it?
thanks!
do the same thing to the to5/10 that is a breakfast food
clue for ci 6/21?
you are strong, he is stronger. Now apply that to a fl******fish
yw manic
ci6/21 looklike an old city, expressed backwards
only lose the "y" and substitute an "e" for the "y"
oops, I meant for the "d"
i'm not getting it...
i just got it, thanks hetty
lmj, ci+hard work takes it's to** on your mind, then change last letter to an E
hello. el words? I have the one that sound like a lamb chop cut...
Try again : begin to spell ci**, stop before the "y", add a sloppy way of saying the opposite of young
harpjane, like a sprite or small creature
thanks! I might have gotten it if I'd looked at the point count.
yes, only one direction makes those points
i am stumped on the first tr5/18, clue anyone?
I'm missing one ta4/4 between the 2 spellings of the divining card game-
think fishing boat
any help on the wa7/44?
the first tr5 is a word meaning characteristic--a character tr***
i have that one hetty, i guess i need the second one
hetty, you might be missing the coin
As my friend jilkli put it earlier a wandering min**** who wastes my money
hetty, the ta4/4s are coin and weight for cargo
the second one takes the second vowel after tr--means a specail gift or titbit
duhh, thanks hetty!!
well shiver y rimbers. I dont have seagoing jargon. Is tye first letter after the ta aneor an o?
hetty, it is a coin
still looking for the wa7/44...
taro
oops - i hate it when that happens
hetty, ta + **ephant
lauren, hetty gave a clue at 5:26
Lauren, I have that word. Thanks franmnag..trying yey! TA
hetty are u looking for ta or tr
Now i know what to call those coins cluttering up my drawers--
thanks for the word lauren
Thanks, oggy, I found the lost coin. Now I need the 2 ta5/18 's
hetty first 5/18 sounds like to*** of london, change first vowel
the last 5/18 has same first 3 letters then add suffix that makes it an adjective
same as sa5/18 one of them the other change last 2 letters
i need any of the st 6/18
Thanks, Franmag
lmj, first st6/18 sounds like something has been taken from you, but the last vowel is the same as the first
St*** of Messina
next st6/18 is a narrow body of water connecting two large bodies of water
make that St****
another st6/18 is layers
thx fran & erda
last st6/18 is a similar word with a different vowel at the end
yw hetty and lmj
thanks fran!
all i need are the CHs, can i get a clue for the second or third ch6/24?
yw lmj!
Fran, ch 6 is a nerve disorder where you make involuntary movements
ch6 is ch4/6 + opp of off
thanks annie!!
yw fran
i have that one oggy, do you have the other next to it?
fran, and plural
thanks annie!
ch + what bullfighters shout + hook letter
thanks oggy, that was the one!
then add a vowel, then pluralize it
thanks erda, i saw all the rest as soon as i got that word!
But of course, Fran!!
I'm down to my last 2 and it's as always a question of blindness: to4/4 and another tr5/18
tore
which to4/4s do you have already hetty?
first to4/4 is big to* + a vowel
theres only 1 5/18
the tr5/18 is to fish the way big fishing boats do
tr510 is a characteristic...
yay, i finished!!
then make it pl. for the 6/18
*****yay FranMag****!!!!!
im off to bed, nite all
night oggy!
nite, oggy
ytg franmag
yay, Fran! btw--oo-la-la! re: icon :-)
nite oggy
yes, quite opposite of your choice of handbag! ;-)
I love your bag, libarebel
Got the fishing technique, thanks very much.
ty, annie :od
how are you doing on the to4/4 hetty? there are so many of them
hetty, do you need the metal lamp bases are made of???
the ot is driving me mad ... any clues?
anders, ot** refers to the ears, i think
doh! was monkey-typing the wrong ot ...
ot4/5--o + facial twitch
Franmag, I have the one that's all vowels after the "t"; the one hat's a part og "hoity to**y!"; the 2 thgat add 2 different vowels afterv the stick; the one for the Jewish dance (Old Testament?) an4 others that feature the "r"
anders, do you have it?
got it thanks so much
that looks like all the 4/4s hetty, maybe it's a higher point 4 that you need
hetty, t*** t + what bullfighters say
With my crazy typing trhat probbaly doesn't add up to a lot of sense-- in my list the missing to4 comes between the 2 with the "l" plus either "e" or "u''
I have 6 to**s -- is that it?
hetty, there isn't one there, i think you're missing the to4/7 that sounds like what miss muffet sat on
so I have the word you've clued, Annnie, and also a word that looks like TOFU gone wrong. What's between them?
six to 4/4s, I mean
searching, dont have the list, will try
erda, there are 7 to4/4s, but more 4s with higher points
ahhh -- thank you, Fran
erda, also a to4/5 and a to4/7
I have a th 5/12 that rhymes with fur wrap. Could you guys clue me the other?
Youre right, Franmag. As so often happens I had ordered my words wrongly. I wouldn't ever finish without the help you pals so willigly give. Now can I give something back, please?
anders, add a consonant to the th4/5 that sounds like a man's name
It rhymes with "viol"
yay hetty!!!
*******congrats, hetty**********!!!!!
Unless of course it sounds like a man's name---
great clues, thank you both!
clues?
got 99
need 97 more

fellow babblers, how is the server going today? worth trying to start?
it's been acting much better leslieann
server ok now
hasn't gone down today so far
stid, haven't seen bbnaz or aussieme on at all
amazing-I was actually able to come back to finish up! Was sure when I signed off this morning that all hope would be lost
Dr. God installed some new or updated software for the server earlier today and things have been okay since then (up to that point it was touch and go)
2 ol 4/4s pls
I was just wondering about aussieme too.
hi LeslieAnn. and Eva!
hi stid!
on ol4/4 is like the cookie, but change R to L
hello, i believe i will start then :)
the two ol 4/4 are the same, different final vowels. they are a type of margarine.
Hi jilli, just noticed your request for ni5--if you were a knitter I might tell you to KNIT on-- taek away the kicking letter
brb, son wants chocolate milk
okay, I am going to go play outside, the benadryl finally wore off and I want to do some weeding. see you all later!
okay, back and still need 30

hey nrkii - how're the yanks doing? mets are out in l.a. - i'm going to the game ! lets go mets!
but I'll go do something constructive for a while....34 left...finish later
yanks are up 8 to 2 in second inning!

aorts
wish i could see you later, stid, but i have to go and play duplicate bridge and won't be back until well after the flip. meanwhile, 45 to go in 45 minutes -- hopeless, i f**r
the 2 terms for margarine actually mean mixed, or blended oils--it's a term used of a pre-show performance by vaudevillans when they were showung of their skills to an audience
ao 5 big vein

nrk, you need ar6/18 and ar7/28
you need a 6 and a 7
thanks!
sounds like connecting bones, but use an R instead of J
lol... fran n sheryl...funny
ar6 and 7 are Shakespearian. . . quotin Macbeth: "AR****thee witch, the rump-fed ronyon cries" (means BEGONE) and rhymes wih anoint
Fran, we've had that word in babble another time in past few weeks... tx!
fl 8/55 and the last (?) fl 6?27 would be nice, anyone
good definition for that one too -- get away from me witch!!!
i'm not a witch i'm your wife!
well, looks like all is under control gonna sign off see you all tomorrow, I hope the site is working as well as it is tonight
and I'm not sure I want to be your wife anymore!
have fun storming the castle!
fl 8 is about the bubbles that stay aloft longer, they are fl8
fl8/55 takes fl5/16 and adds a comparative (worthy, worthier)
jill, take the fl5/16, make it a adjective, the fl8/55 is more of that adjective
don't forget the"i"
fl 6/27 is what a light thing does in water

Lucinda is from your class?
I play on weekends generally though.

hi miss abs -- your students are funny
hey, i'm 31 too :)
yeah Saphyre, she is.
fl6/27 - two diff pl (English and Latin) of fl5 meaning plants
I've got quite a few of them that log on from home to play as well. This is generally the one that they use in class. I just log on and leave it on during the day. When they've got a few minutes they stop in and put a few words down.
I know it's not your responsibility but we did tell her we would have you read the log
Are the kids polite enough? I always worry that they'll be rude.
Yeah I've tried to teach them, but you know how kids are, they don't listen.
The rest of the kids have been great
they were extremely rude. would they be allowed to go to someone's house and insult the guests?
Excellent. So was it just that she wasn't reading the log or was she rude?
s said jillibus? And was it on this log on or their own personal ones?
miss abs, I didn't see Lucinda, but the ones who were on a while ago were just annoying, not rude
no we want YOU to read the log - she was horrible
on this log, miss abs, sorry to report
What was said jillibus is what that was supposed to read.
ah okay let me go look really fast.
what was said if you can remember Im' just about out of time to check.
And she was changing her screen name and being even ruder.
can't go check - on my way out, but sneering at old grannies etc
in the midst of this, anyone have that last fe 5/16?
it was Lucinda though?
ll ban her
I have seen references to fo4,7 (for instance) and someone will ask "which one?" How does one figure which one? That eludes me. :/

Jillibus and Saphyre, the two young ladies are standing here and would like to express their apologies and have assured me that it will never happen again. If it does please let me know.

oops, 5/12
Circe: think of what people ride on at Mardi Gras.
ho5/16 = Plural of the ho4/5
HO*** Bucholtz, perhaps? (my spelling is prob way bad)
there's no fi 6/27 either
ahhh..thank you!!!
Aw, crap, Circe. I lied. That's fL. Not fI.
<---going to get her glasses...

anybody have a clue for the first th6,21 pretty please?
lol.... L I ...they look the same to me from here...no worrys...was fun making up latin endings...lol
okay, it's a 4 legged animal that pulls a carriage, but change last vowel to consonant

thanks nrkii... couldn't find it on a word list. lol
glad I'm not the only one who knows the time machine reference too
nrk, that's Grand *** Opry (three letters), by the way, making the clue not work so well.
Hoping for hints re the last 2 tr5's.
in 6/7 combo?
really? I thought it was grand ** opry?
if the Time Machine clue doesn't do it for you, it's part of one of Jesus' final words: **** **** lamach sabacthani
opry.com says no, sorry.
Hello everyone.
oh, I had the right sound, but there's an E at the end, tx pwinn
Layne, are you here?
well that's okay, sometimes I clue by sound rather than actual letters anyhow -- just to keep things interesting
hi wizard
Hee!
in 6/7 combo- words that more commonly begin en and end with a special indulgence
isn't that the in 7/8 combo?
hello everyone
In6/7 is the court combo.
Hello everyone, btw.
Yup. Sorry about that. The in's end in a legal suit.
Hi Ping
ah thanks folks.
please could have help with the fi5/20 but not the one that sounds like a bird
in6 & 7 mean to twist and/or twine.
feather: Ho*** Buchholtz, German actor: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001976/ and don't ask me how I remembered that name!
th6/21-- swallowing organ
helenary, f+ what makes you want to scratch
Helenary - the other fi5/20 IS the bird.
lol, WOW nrkii! i don't think i've ever heard of him
it must be my father's love of B movies that's rubbing off on me
2nd fi5/20 is a polecat.

Thanks, featherbee. Forgot I still had the cats in the sink icon on.
good evening, morning, afternoon to my friends around the world!
sorryy...it's the 3rd ch624 (I think)
feather, there's actually a whole web site devoted to it. www.catsinsinks.com
and the ch5/14 is not the one that is a task
cathyar, ch 5/14 is either a task you do on a regular basis, or a lower class mexican
Helenary - think weaving: warp and we**.
ch + game played with mallets and horses minus first letter
really? how cute!
yep...even w/ the wrong icon jac, that still wins the awared for cutest in a while :)
cathyar, ch 6/24 sounds like asian country KO***

st4/8 oops
jf - You'll soon be sailing through grids like we old hands, barring new and weird words and dratted 'obvious' but missed plurals. (Which is the way of things! LOL)
hi rebekb!
pwinn, thanks, got it
I hope so. Used to be I could barely clear 100 on a 200 word + grid. Now at 142, slowing, but still not ready to hit the list...
peri, not ready for action
Helenary - st4/8 - to be fixed or stay in place. Think of an 'st' animal bedding and remove the 3rd letter.
there have been some good clues flying, jfarber
thanks Jac!! great clue.
wa7?
Speaking of using or not using lists, and at what point people use them, there is a thread on BabAnon set up to discuss just that, if anyone is interested in contributing to it.
st5/10 got 2 wierd ones
Ture dat. Thanks to all on behalf of myself and a dozen dozen other lurckers for the hi5/12.
I think I'm about to resort to the list, at 66 words to go. :(
LeslieAnn - wa7 = a layabout, useless person, or a spendthrift.
warthol
sto5/10 how do you find those sticky ones??
wa7--one who squanders, last part rhymes with mim*****-- a wandering musician
pwinn, have you finished one since the almost-under-the-wire act last week?
IC 5 and 6???
Helenary - the 'not weird' st 5/10 is a past tense of a word for theft.
um minstre :-O
LA, no, it seems that Dr_God is conspiring against me or something.
minstrel :-[]
lol, well you know what tomorrow's date is
i got it, thanks liba
hints for the IC 5/6 please
good 4 U, LeslieAnn!
Bah, what a load of nonsense! My schedule tomorrow remains unaffected in the slightest by the numbers.
feather, and just to finish my thought on all things HO***, he was the young cute guy who the girl fell in love with in Magnificent Seven (Chico)... there, now I feel better for knowing who he was :)
bleugirl - The ic's - old Babble favourites. They are: 1. Greek Mythology. The rarefied fluid said to run in the veins of the gods. 2. Pathology. A watery, acrid discharge from a wound or ulcer.
ic + a crass word for a streetwalker mispelled
ichto
lol, thanks nrkii!
re 7/40 please?
you got the first three letters, bleu ;)
Oh yes, 6/6/06 - and a remake of 'The Omen' is being released. Have to wonder why they did a remake. The original is still fine.
(but I had to call my mom and dad to get that info)
last wa4/8?
Thx
feather, re 7 is put on water again
cathyar, wa 4/8 is electrical term, but undouble the consonant
re7/40 & plural 8 - to get a boat seaworthy again.
ahh, thanks
I'm not sure which is more an affront to good taste: the Omen remake or the new "Left Behind" book, both due tomorrow. But I'll shut up now.
Cathyar - last was4/8 - sounds like what light bulbs have but with less tea.
I never saw the original Omen, because that stuff scares the crap out of me. I saw previews for this one, and again, even the preview scares the crap out of me.
okay, I'm down to 4... does anyone have a clue for to4,7 pretty please?
ahhh...got it...thanks jac
and nrk
goooo gira... to 4/7 is t + frequently
still 40 words to go
(Means Buddhist temples or is an acronym for telecommunications services that are wide-ranging.)
re7/40--to make buoyant again
or gira, t + slow pitch s***ball
st6/30 please...couldn't find that past tense for stolen Jac
whee! danke nrkii. :)
st 6/30 rhymes with gary cooper movie high N***
st 6/30 means thrown all over the place
Hi everyone!
in6/18 and 7/28 and 5/10? ask a lot don't i...sorry
and the past tense word, helen, you need a different vowel near the end
help please with the th7/32's
I don't know the Jewish alphabet (which is the one used for the number of Th Beast) well enough, but I assume the name 'Damien' adds up to 666? Can anyone tell me if this is so?
thanks nrkii
cathyar, in + legal term (sounds like a word for cake)
Jac, with enough effort, anything can add up to 666. Hebrew interesting that way.
Jacula, I'm going to hide under the bed now
to4/7?
Helenary - you know the word you posted for the past tense of theft when you said you couldn't find it? Take the last letter off!
peri, th 7 32 -- a warning that something bad will happen
Thanks, kids. Quitting @ 130 words. Majority before logging on, rest due to y'all! Nitey nite!

Hang on, Helenary - need to text my daughter back.
th + shad *** (caviar) pabtrek
st5/10--a marketplace?
Helenary - st5/10 the polecat?
helenary, there are two st 5/10 that are difficult, and they're right next to each other (different end vowels)
st5/10 - a shop.
or st + horse treat?
st 5/10 - not finish? to be in a st*** contest?
first st6/18 also please
thanks nrkii
to8?
st5/10 - to fix one's gaze on?
I need a clue. I'm looking for the last fe5/16, I think.

Never mind. I got it.
harp...even more to 5/10
to8 more crispy, as in bread
It seems all I need do is ask, and it leaps to my mind. Sigh.
Harp - Hi! to8 is much warmer.
harpjane, if you are in at the fireplace, you are warm and TO****, when you've been there for a while, youare even TO******
pwinn - That happens to Periwinkle, too! LOL.
sorry wrong box!!
thanks, didn't have the to5 either.

pab - th+uncooked meat
thx nrkii - i'm missing 4 then....
hooray gira!
I've probably missed these clues already, but I'm looking for the last two fl6/27s. And congrats to you!
Well done, Gira!
i know that saying Jac..help (st6/18) first of many...a little more help please
thanks everyone :) Yay.
2 plurals of the fl*** and fauna, pwinn
pwinn, plural of fl 5/16, both latin and english
thanks gira
yayyyyy Gira
Argh, thanks LA
Firefly - No! My 2 kitties would NEVER cuddle up together; they bicker like an old married couple. Those are Net kitties.
to8/40 please?
lol Jacula - well, still cute :)
a little late, buy yay gira!!
clues at 9:33, cathy
Helanary - 1st st6/18 - A shoot that bends to the ground or that grows horizontally above the ground and produces roots and shoots at the nodes.
helenary - took something that doesn't belong to you, minus last vowel, plus "rub off, rub **"
ahh...tks leslie
(Sounds like a Christmas Scandanavian loaf.)
ST + Grand **e Opry + opposite of OFF
thanks again, everyone... :) I'm off to rummage for dinner.
night gira!
I like the word 'rummage'! LOL.
yes Jac, it fits how I usually scrounge for dinner too
Well, nrkii, if you have any probs working out what to do with what you find in the cupboards/fridge/freezer just ask on my Recipes thread on BabAnon. I can do something culinary with most things. LOL.
good to know!
I'm watching tv and babbling...at the risk of offending anyone, can I just express how much I detest feminine hygiene commercials of any kind!!!
Layne?
Could someone clue me on the ICs? i'm stumped!
having trouble with the st 6/18s. i have one that sounds like co***, part of the digestive tract, and i have dire st****s
'Rummage' is most normally used here in UK for what women do in their handbags whilst trying to locate something, or what men appear to be doing when they have their hand down their underpants. LOL.
kristinc, probably as much as I hate the phrase - and if your erection lasts longer than 4 hours, please consult your doctor!
feather - do you have the layer of rock
And as exciting as that might seem to women, after about an hour or two, we are done; )
no! aha!
lol joey and jac! and yes...who wouldn't consult their doctor :)
and got the other one like it just now, thanks ping
Kristinc - I agree! Especially at meal times. They don't need to advertise the products because we women have to use them anyway (not the deodorants, but the pads etc.) Anyway, a hobby horse of mine is that women cannot help the need to use pads and that if we ruled the world those products would be FREE, like condoms are!
Yeah, if we were all pregnant, we wouldn't need them!
15 left, all Ts
Jac, believe it or not, they are where I work
I was trying to tune the generally male-unfriendly babble, but, um, condoms are free?
Yeah, go to planned parenthood or just about any night cloub
dinoshadow - True, but we'd need 6 weeks' worth at the end of each pregnancy.
Ah, in the UK perhaps.
gooooo feather!
sa5/18?
tee hee jac...grrreat point! :) that's my issue w/ the commercials...do they really need to advertise any of it...if I need something, I'll buy it...okay, off my soapbox now
pwinn, not male unfriendly, just advertising unfriendly I think
Also good point. I guess I wasted a bunch of money, back in the day.
sorry pwinn...I started it all ;)
sa5/18 someone who uses a sa*
never mind...found it
pwinn - Male unfriendly? Babble? Not normally!
I should never watch tv w/ annoying commericals and babble :)
my babble screen froze so I couldn'thank youall for th help..thanz..done!!!
perhaps male unfriendly as in males don't want to hear about it any more than we do? hee
yay helenary!!!!
Oh, I know. I'm not actually sensitive or anything, I just didn't have much to contribute to the discussion of the economics of pads, exception for economics, and that's boring.
st4/8?
oops...got that 1 too
thands dino! babble's giving away condoms tonight?
pwinn...now don't even get us started on the whole economics of the issue :)
ch8 help?
SMALLER!!! hey
smaller...arrived just in time, kristin's stirring the pot, making trouble, etc
Re advertising on TV stations. First, I must ask, to you ave to pay a TV licence in US? Ours in UK (for the BBC, and we have no option about paying it) is nearly £200 now. Adverts pay for the TV stations.
wa7?
No TV licenses here, no.
We don't pay for TV except for direct tv or cable
Our "public television" is voluntarily supported.
JOEY!!!!!!!!! Kristin - as always you rebel!
Harp - wa7 - an idler, spendthrift or waste of space type person.
jac...we don't pay anything directly that I know of but I'm sure there are unofficial federal costs already built into our taxes
how are you, smaller, I am ok - just beat! 11 to go
Hello Smaller! Long time no 'see'!
joey, me too. did a marathon on saturday.sore in a gazillion places. how are the baseballers?
Jac, that clue didn't help me - any more on wa7?
okay, I'm having issues w/ the layer of rocks clue...I clearly must not be spelling it right, can anyone give me a blatant clue?
hooray for smaller and her marathon!
ST + rodent + first vowel
From what my kids tell me (they have been to USA, I have not) the ad breaks are legendaryily long!
layers of rock = (beaten to it)
smaller - they are losing tonight - but still cute
Hey Jacula - cute little kitties!!!!
and then same beginning but different vowel at end
Definitely, Jacula. I don't actually watch TV as a result.
Then can be like 4 minutes long at times, Jacula
Have I just invented a new word for Babble? Does the word 'lengendarily' exist?
thank you...I had the completely wrong word, thanks!
how did you do in the marathon - that is great.
Tivo is your friend
generally, a 30 minute program has 8 minutes of commercials and a 60 minute program has about 15 minutes of commercials
and by the way, the number of places I'm sore is exactly how many $%^*-ing st words are in the grid
TIVO is wonderful
back to the ch8 and wa7 clues, please ;)
it's how I play babble and watch baseball at the same time
yeah, way too many commericals...only thing they're good for...potty and food breaks. Thats why I like pbs
wow like a real marathon? like 26 miles??
When watching shows on DVD, one learns that a 60 minute show actually takes up 42 minutes, meaning 18 minutes of commercials!
Dino - wa7/44 = wa4/8 + first three letters of people in your family.
ch 8 is plural of diseases --- there was a movie called Love in the Time of CH*****
thanks kristin!!! joey- oh they play for points? i thought the diamond was like a male runway
one of the last 2 fl 6/27's pls...not sure which...I think it's the very last one
Yeah, it is nice to tivo a show and watch an hour show in 40 minutes (cut out credits)
yes pwinn, it can be up to 18 mins -- standard used to be 15 to 16
change the last letter of the other, daisy?
For Jac's benefit, PBS is our public television. Voluntarily supported, no commercials (except between shows, sometimes)
yes, they play for points, but yes, it is a runway too, it is neat
english and latin plurals both daisy
ok ty LeslieAnn:)
and done!
pwinn, and when they're doing fundraisers, which is just about every day
Hey LeslieAnn, yep on the 26 miles and the first have is much easier than the second half. lolololol. oh it hurts to type
half not have
oel
nrk -- Hee!
wow i am super impressed. i am planning to run a 5k this month and am a little worried!
hooray feather!
yay featherbee!
yeah feather!!
you beat helen! ;)
No one! I mean NO ONE can be aching as much as me (or rather my butt is!). I went to the first Monsters of Rock Festival in a decade with my daughter last Saturday. I anticipated every emergency except that of being 49-years' old and having to sit on hard ground all day. OUCH!
Congrats, FBee!
I love living in Colorado - I get to go out and hike to 8000 ft within 10 minutes of the house
Mind you, my daughter was ready to give up/in before I was!
1st sa4/4?
ok i love and miss you all dearly but I have to go whimper and moan with a bowl of ice cream happy babbling!!!!! have a good night!!!
Jac, who did you see?
bye smaller!
However, once we'd both run out of body parts to lean on that weren't hurting a million times over, we went home. LOL.
enjoy your ice cream - have a good night
take care smaller...three words: friend's hot tub
jac...way to outlast the youngins'
feather, congrats!!
lol, had to take a minute and catch up on the tv talk earlier
night smaller!
Joey - Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Ted Nugent (still as foul mouthed as ever!), Roadstar, Queensryche and a few others.
now...just missing an st5/10...somewhere around the 3-5th one...not sure which
I have never heard of wa7 before... weird
stoae
ooh, great concert, Jac - lots of good music. I haven't seen a multiple line up for a long time
yep, that's the one
crap...sorry
excuse me. I have a ques. tndaisy said "one of the last 2 fl 6/27's pls...not sure which...I think it's the very last one" What does that mean? What does it matter if it's last or first or ??? How do you know which it is?
Cathyar: you have the st one regarding what you do at the beginning of a race?
Could I please have some help with the ICs?
lodestar, have you been to the lickety's babble clues link at the bottom of the page?
gads...still need two r's and 22 t's!!!! ugh
ok, gotta head to bed, night all!
g'night feather!
yes, I have
ok, well the clues are in alphabetical order, so if someone has all of them they can figure out what you're missing
lodestar - Daisy was probably using a stats list which lists the 1st 2 letters of the words and their scores in order. The reason that it matters is that if you have the words around the missing word, you can often work it out.
ping, IC + 4 legged animal that pulls a carriage or sleigh, minus last letter (then single that)
one of the ra4/4's....prob the 1st
night feather!
raot
so long feather :)
sleep tite feather
argh! missing a gazillion tr's :)
thanks nrkii so much!
Or, Lodestar - she may have just completed the puzzle, like I did some hours ago (almost a day ago now) and so she knows how to clue you in.
they're not that bad, kristin - a horse gait, tr** will lead you to two 5's, trick or tr*** to a 6
lol LA...those are the only 4 I have :)
ra4/4... please? i have the rodent
harrumph, at least there's five there, a different letter on the end of the horse gait?
Ping - the ic's both start with the German word for 'I, me, myself', and then go on to a 2-letter word for an alternative (and its plural in the case of the ic plural word).
also a characteristic - a tr*** and plural
OK... Leslie & Jacula. I am feeling dumb and dumber. For instance: on Lickety's list there are four fo4,7s. I see people asking which one someone needs when they ask for a clue. Am I being thick-headed?
yep...you're right, got the horse gait plus the 2 point letter and the tr 4/7
okay, only missing only the tr 5/18 now harrumph is a cute word :)
Cathyar - ra4/4 - a type of ray, a skate. Fishy word.
hi everybody! got four to go
loadstar, there could be foal four and fowl - and they would be fo1 fo2 and fo3 based on third letter
thanks, jac!
i think that's why she was guessing, lodestar. i think in those cases people just guess. like, for example, if the fo 5/18 was a plural, you could figure the singular was the last fo 4. if there's other numbers in between you can figure it out.
(Sounds like the earth goddess!)
i have 11 left
go go lmj!
got a clue for the re 5/16?
and ping!
i've yet to see fireworks
re5/16 - to measure someone up for an outfit again, or to do a venue anew.
thanks, leslie
Shops sometimes close for re***s.
awwww, that one was staring me in the face, thanks jacula!
need ch 5/14, i have the one that's a household ch***
Thanks everyone. I'm still not sure I understand, but I'll keep my eyes out for an example tomorrow when I'm not so tired. It's my bedtime now. Thanks again.
th 6/21? (not the warning, or a sore th****)
ch + by yourself minus the first letter
bye lodestar! have a good night
help, one left. the fi 5/20. I have the one that sounds like the trailer hi...... can't find the other.
change the third letter, joey
fi5/20 - a bird - maybe a green one.
a bird, joey
oh, throw me the da** fish - I deserve it.
thanks for the help. I am done.
yaaaay joey!
how about the RE 5/10?
hooray joey!
yay joey!
Well done, Joey! But bouncing a frozen haddock off your head, as requested. LOL.
thanks
the re is a spanish word - ends with vowel, consonent, vowel
ooooooh, Jac, that hurts. how about a fresh one next time.
gracias, joey
re 5/10 is like st5/10 a layer of rocks, but change the first two
Ping - re5/10 is a lariat or lasoo.
da nada
Joey - Anj created this fish thing and the fish are fozen ones according to his rules.
help with fl8?
LOL
thanks, everyone
well, then, next time I will ask for a wet noodle.
I DO miss Anj & Lola, Lotti. I wish they'd come back on the log!
where they been?
speaking of wet noodles, my baby ate sketti for the first time tonight!! woo! She is so much fun!
Joey = don't be a wimp! LOL.
Dino - what the heck is a sketti?
spaghetti
me, wimp? well, I guess
also known as pascetti
jacula - you must not have kids. :-)
LeslieAnn - Dunno! On IronSudoku maybe?
or be british.
'zactly, leslieann
we have a great picture of my brother at a young age after eating sketti and blueberry pie
Sleeky - I have 3 kids! But I'm English. LOL.
OMG! I bet that's a trip
do British kids say it in a special British way?
yup, it is great blackmail as he is 49 now
like how Chilean frogs say glo glo glo? :-)
I used macaroni pasta, so it wasn't as messy as it could have been. she just turned 8months today, so I didn't want to risk choking
you should go pro so you can post a pic, dino :)
sorry, need another clue for the ch 5/14
dino, i have a 6 month old
well, I am out of here, see you in a few at the flip. good night and good luck
Sorry! You US lot have me lost there!
I went pro on sudoku - gotta space out the proing
bye joey
say congrats, ping! boy or girl?
lmj, it's what you make the kids do on the weekends before they can play - house ch*
girl, and another girl 27 months
lmj - ch5/14 - boring household job, or any oring job really...
grrrr... st's....
My sister has 2 girls. We are going to start trying for the second one later this year. Hoping for a boy.
what about the OL 6 anyone?
i need the other ch 5/14 jac..
change the last letter, lmj
Grand *** Opry + the appendage of a fish
oop - wrong one
ping, ol + second vowel + what some animals swim with
dino, i always imagined having 2 boys but instead it's 2 girls - they're wonderful, of course!
what a word!
lmj, ch+ going alone, but drop the first letter
ol + vowel + fish part
maybe you guys could just trade
Re the kids - I have a son who was 22 in May, a daughter who was 19 in March and a 'sort of step-daughter' (that's her description of it) who wa 11 in December.
thanks leslie and lmj
I know IN 7 and 8 have been clued many times but I didn't understand the clues, any hints?
I always knew I would have a girl. I managed to conveniently forget it's the man who decides that one. ;-)
and done! gonna head off and do some work tonight while my husband is still at a meeting, see you all tomorrow!
;)
Congrats, Kristin
hmm, the grid didn't take "hooray kristin." imagine that.
Until they pulled her out of me, I was still hoping she was a boy, but I love her to pieces!! My father-in-law came in and the first words out of his mouth were "next time, boy!"
bleu, in + trick or tr***
finally got the ch 5/14!
2nd th7/32?
need two st 5/10, not the animal
plural of what's in your neck, cathy
animal?
th7/32--swallowing organ plural
Sleeky - The man 'deciding' what sex a child is has rankled with me since I found that out at about the age of 12. Then they taught us about Henry VIII who beheaded and divorced wives for not 'giving' him a son! Serves him right that the only son he got was a weakling and that both his daughters were very strong women! LOL.
st 5/10 - a st*ing contest and st* of a race
st + a grain
what about EL 5 (not the adj rel to santa's helpers)?
st* 5/10, a piece of fur worn around the neck
also, a place of business and to take something from said place of business
got that one... must be the first th7 i need then. sorry
th7/32 - things that attach heads to bodies.
the st 5/10 i need are between the st 4/4 and st 5/12
plural of warnings, cathy
th 7/32 - is that a th*
1st th7 (7/32) - nasty warnings.
er, crud i think i need that one too lmj
thanks for both of them!
EL 5/10?
let's hope someone knows it Leslie!
anyway, I don't mind having a boy, since I got the very best one.
ah - that one is weird.. the same start as the ones just listed but the last 2 letters are vowels
*Is that a th*** or a promise?' CLUE!
el + a cut of beef
e + the king of the jungle misspelled, ping
that was for lmj and leslie
thanks, leslie and lmj!
leslie and lmj, did y'all get the st5/10?
help with fl8?
i'm not sure... i'm only missing one, so probably... :)
Sleeky - all mothers' sons are the best, with a few exceptions - Mr. Hitler's, Mrs. Hussian's, Mrs., Himmler's etc.. LOL
to be more airborne, dino??
fl8--more buoyant
fl8 - the most buoyant.
thanks
er, or that
hey, jac! gmta!
leslie, did you get the st* that ends in 3 vowels?
yes, i have that. i think i need the one between the 5/12 and the 6/18
Think of chiffon scarves... the thinnest one that blows in the breeze the highest is the fl8 iest!
that is a piece of fur worn around the neck
or to take something without paying
got it leslie. thx.
how about the st 5/10s before the "fur"
aw crud, had them in the wrong place. hold on.
ha! LMJ, there are two st 5/10s that end in three vowels
ut oh
2 of the st5/10's work off the st4/4 and are plurals.
this is so bugging me! i have only two left and i'm drawing a complete blank
ok, i'll look
the one i was missing was st + third vowel + first vowel + third vowel
ok, one to go
that's not in the board, leslie
er, scratch that. 4th vowel + 1st + third
this is why i do letters, not numbers
that's the one I have - what's the other?
change last one to second vowel
Dino - it is on the board,
got it
thanks leslie, jac, dino...finally got the fireworks. 1st time!! yea!
yay
hooooray lmj!!
Good Evening! Any prolems with the wbesite today?I just signed on.I am unable to get yesterday's scores
it's going along much better, minver
st4/4 root word. st4/4 + 2nd vowel. st4/4 + 3rd vowel. st4/4 + consonant (polecat, like a ferret)., st5/10 - past tense of thieved, st5/10 - another word for a shop/
ty, leslieann , for weird st****! :)
ok my request went into lala land. I need RE 5/16
Only 1 left now and i think it's a TO 4/4 - a few below the fireplace words
bleu: let a waistline out, perhaps. Or made a boat ready again.
lmj - *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS AGAIN FOR YOU*~*~*~*~ WELL DONE!
to try on clothes again, bleu?
re5/16--to tailor again?
not a ta*, but a to* - like a cake
to + the ** girl, ping?
re5/16 - a tailor does this when you go bak to try on an outfit.
I should hav epaid attention when these clues went by earlier. I'm missing an st 6/18. I have the layers and the one in Gibraltar.
layers?
hi everyone !
Then I'll be down to words that begin with 't'
the other is st + part of the body co* minus the c
oh helen, feather beat you hours ago
! I mist have missed the st6es too -- I only have one for "it was st***** all over the room"
st6/18 - plural of the layers.
st6/18--things cast about a room have been st****
leslie, i'm not sure what so many of these TO words mean that it's hard to say - maybe the ** girl - not sure what that is
Hi Helen.
one st 6 is misspelled word for not crooked
Jacula, thank you! I'm down to 'T' words now.
ping, like cousin ** from the addams family?
18 left.
lol leslie- dang that feather!
pwinn - ask and the clues will be given.
that was **, Leslie - thanks!
thanks, everyone, for your help
hi jacula
53 to go, should i make it easy on myself & get the list?
btw, pwinn, like your caught in the act icon! LOL
Hello all just popping back in to see how things are going.
Helen - maybe not. Sometimes taking a break and going off to do other things bings a fresh eye to the grid. It's up to you though.
must agree with jac, adorable icon pwinn
hooray to ping!
Thanks, jacula. There was a story that went with it. I should have saved it.
i'm missing 3 st 5/10s in a row. after the 2nd 4/4. Any help?
oh, an hi!
yeah you should have! ;)
*and
you're right jacula, maybe i should get up again & get popcorn (but this time won't be gone for 4 hours, lol)
wasssssssup!!
LA, do you remember who had the story yesterday? Or was it the day before?
hey! how's it going leslie?
i'll make this easy, wassup. add three different letters to the st 4/4 for the three words
is Jil still here or saphyre?
i posted it. :) i'll see if i can find it again
ok, bedtime - later!
i think they both left, miss abs
st5/10--to begin
hi wassssss!
ah okay Leslie, I was just checking to see that they'd gotten the apologies from my rude students.
hi libarebel :)
st5/10--to gaze
i think saphyre had already left. jilli appreciated it, though
st5/1 to have taken wrongly
We had a chat about netiquette and unless I'm playing here as well I'm going to disable the chat function so that the "mouthing off" won't happen again and ruin this place for people.
ah, thanks leslie
hey helen!!
ah okay good, well the girls were absolutely mortified that I'd "found out" and hopefully that'll make an impact on their behaviour.
st5/10-- a marketplace
here is the cat-dog story, scroll down to "dark and stormy night" http://www.masternewmedia.org/2003/06/ 16/dark_and_stormy_night_can_art_and_p oetry_be_blogged.htm
netiequette - i've never heard that before -cute
miss abs, maybe you can point out to them that the chat logs are all saved and you could check them at any time. that may help.
how are you helen?
Miss ABS - I did disable chat myself the last time your students were in there. However, I don't really care or bother about what they say to each other but it's when they post words that bothers me, especially if I'm just starting out on a grid.
st5/10 -- st + 1st vowel + 3rd vowel
i'm good wass, but tired from having to do too much & not having enough time - still have lots to put in the garden
Ah, 'twas you, Leslie. Thanks.
oops, st + 1st, plus round. + 3rd
Yeah, I agree and I told them off for that too. They just have no idea, I don't know where their parents are they're too young to be turned loose.
and how are you wass
I did see some kid (dunno who, but one of theAussie lot) saying to another, 'All I have to do is delete my posts now.' Maybe it should be pointed out to them that any posts made on this site cannot be deleted.
I did tell them that Leslie and they panicked. Hope that helps, and please, if any of them are rude or doing something just let me know.
i pretty much wasted my day today. took a benadryl at 12:30 because my eyes were really itchy from my hay fever. I fell asleep for 3 hours. luckily, the kids were both really tired and hung out in their room coloring and stuff
oh well, at least it wasn't as bad as the one class who was all on at one time and talking to each other about who was in love with who else, with lots of "u's" and "2's" and that sort of thing
lol - 3 hours, that sounds great ! :)))
I don't think they understand that it doesn't make them look "tough" to do stuff like that, but it makes them look like silly little children. I mean, no one else speaks like that on here and no one ever puts others down. They're the only ones I've seen.
Anyway, hope all is cleared up. I told them that if they signed on again they'd better apologize right up front and say that it wouldn't happen again and just get on with playing. IF they wanted to chat to use MSN and not the chatbox because it wasn't their personal chat.
awww, it looks like i missed some excitement
wassup - don't stress over that, as my daughter would say. That's life. (Know what you mean though!)
hope you feel better, wassup :O|
it was, but i'm still exhausted. i'm just glad today was the last day of preschool. we have "reformances" as the kids are calling them on tues and fri and then i'm done driving around like a maniac for the summer
thanks jacula, felt guilty for sleeping through a nice sunny afternoon
Yeah helen some of my kids stirred things up being extremely rude to babblers
last fe 5/16?
I'm off to babble for a couple minutes before the bell rings and round three starts for the day. Have a good one all and please don't hesitate to contact me if my students cause any problems. Good luck all.
ahoy-hoy!
miss abs: I was personally having a blast with them last night. :) i felt 10 myself. they called us gaybos. :)
hey froelica
Shleeee
leslieann, a criminal
Rolin's had the same sort of problems with some of her classes. A few even thought it 'cool' to post her real name on here.
ah thanks nrkii. i've hit the letters blurring stage :)
np :)
hmmm... I have rude kids fr brekkie... (kidding)-- w.c.libarebel
LOL Well wassup, they are ever so creative with their insults that's for sure. And they think anyone over 17 is ancient. Hated to tell them that I must have one foot in the grave then!
LOL libarebet
i was bummed when they gave up. kierlex kept calling out for them. "Girls! Are you theeeere"
Thinking back, when I was 17 I thought anyone of 27 had one foot in the grave.
Oh, LOL! Ain't life a blast?
:-D, just a wiseass, isABS!
LOL well they're only 10-12 years old. So I'm really attempting to make sure they don't embarrass me or themselves.
first th 6/21?
So, wgho was kierlex? Was he the nice guy, the flirt or the geek?
kierlex has been a regular lately
Clue for the 3rd or 4th HO5.12 (not the dance) - Thanks
she has a really cute kitty icon
leslieann, th + grand **e opry + **L and vinegar
anyone want to give me clues? :)
nrkii great clue, thanks for that.
one ho5 is the first name of the actor bucholtz (sp?)
HO 5 12 is actor from Magnificent Seven HO*** Buchholz
yay libarebel - same clue!
that's a weird one, thanks nrkii
i need the 2 st 6/18s. one in the middle of the "fur" and the "store"
4th ho4/5 - plural of a warm word. If you fancy a guy something rotten, you could be said to have the ho** for him!
nice of you to put that in quotes, wassssup
TY nrkii
