just saying I found the 8 is all. don't need a clue, thanks.
cool
ok, all dressed for the new babble day!
what is the theme, helen?
wow, this is quite a puzzle - grid of 9 letters without any touching vowels - going to be fun
the theme is alfred hitchcock movies
any hints about the 8, knut?
helen, that's a great theme!
ping - you can thank renfield - it was her suggestion :)
can i be kim novak?
go for it !!
past tense what you watch those alfred hitchcock movies on, if you were able to see them in a movie theatre
that was the clue for the 8
good evening all! ren you still here?
what a little sweetheart knut
thank you :-)
hiya chic !
Hi, Knut :o))))
Hi Helen, how's the voting going?
hey, Mum
oh thanks for asking chic - i forgot to vote today!
knut, how old is your daughter - she looks similar in age to my younger one
merci bien, knut for the 8 etc
Hello, daughter mine!
flosey -- knut is jai's dughter
What was the 8 you clued?
oh, can't type tonight
sc8/50- past tense what you would watch a movie on in a theatre
my baby is 14 weeks old on Monday
in the picture, she is only 9 weeks old, though
she's darling - mine is 7 months already!
yes i came back - halfway achieved - mediocrity attained - g'nite.
thanks :-) time is definitely flying by!
past my bedtime - goodnight, friends!
knut, yes it's weird how the time passes both quickly and slowly at the same time
de7- thickest, as in forest-thick; your professional dates es7; sc7 hell hath no fury....; te7 gives money to- also means soft and sweet in the singular; te7 the most tight in the neck (like me right now
good nite ping
good night helen
thanks, mum! And with that I'm halfway. Gonna go shut down the house and go to bed. Promised my husband I'd be in bed before 1am. G'night everyone!!
those are the 7"s I have found so far...
good nite knut !
Nite, nite, Knut! Kiss Liv for me!
nite, knut
jai, not being a professional, I don't get the es7
jill- think ford es****
ty, jai
The father es***** the bride down the aisle; past tense
Btter clue than mine, Ren!
oh, THAT kind of a professional date! lol
those were good clues you gave jai!
Ty, Ren <blush>
so far, I have found four words that build on the word co** on the cob....
thx again, jai
the co** fields and north by northwest - this grid has a lot of hitch references! silver sc****! wow!
A good few of these words were in yesterdays puzzle
ok...I have a newbie question....
i didn;t get all of yesterday's grid. spend the day at my folks!
Yes, shoot...
shoot, esq
k esquian
how can you have a word coming off the top N in the second column and none coming of the one right next to it, when the first N touches the same (only) vowel the other N touches
sorry...that would be second from the right
the 2nd n is grayed out so that we don;t have that prob today
The word is credited to the FIRST letter in the puzzle it can be solved from, when it can be found in more than one way...
first, from left to right?
I just learned that yesterday!
Yes
ok...thanks! This grid is driving me crazy with all the N's and E's in the two right columns
whoa, I only have 30 left. I'd better quit or I won't have any reason to wake up in the morning!
lol harp - good nite - sleep well :)
we can race tomorrow - i have 28 left
my cat jumped out of a second story window last night. She wanted to get into the middle of a fight in the yard. I was all worried about her, but she was fine. Came in as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.
wow - cats are amazing that way!
gnite
nite, harp - love your icon!
going to bed - leaving 24 for manana! see you all then - good nite :)
nite!
okay, down to 6 and running out of ideas -- gonna see if anyone dropped any clues below
and thanks to Jai, just picked up 2 more, so down to 4 now
did anyone get the O word from bottom left yet?
yes I did
think chemical ending for sugar, plural
tx!
o4/4
ciao, all.... good luck. Only 44 more left for me for the morning.
night esquian
nrkii, where did you get your icon?
from google images, searched for hitchcock, then decided I wanted to go with an image related to "the birds"
I get almost all my icons from google images
how do you get to it?
www.google.com, then select Images from just above the search bar
ah, that was fun, but now I'm done.. clues needed?
ok...thanks, nrkii. Night
aloyisius, I'm down to last 3
super..
wtg, Aloyisius
yes, and congrats!
Hi Aoly What looks on the surface like a nasty grid is actually quite benign.
I kept forgetting to look for plurals.. not too many weirdo words in this one.. I agree, FMitch..
I am done, good night all see you in a week or so
nrkii need help?
Congrats on completion.
thanks - yes it was much easier than I had thought
andy, not sure, I haven't gone to list, so I don't know exactly which ones I'm missing
congrats andy!
I keep forgetting to say that
I need 2 more C
1 more E
ok nrkii co or cr
ty.. and congrats to andy, too!
hey everyone!! how many words today?
a 5 a 6 and a 7
E's are easy
116
119, sorry
don't get it nrki
let us start with C's
the o's were not bad either... I don't care for e's or o's..
okay, I'm missing one E from middle row right...
you got the *** on a menu in a restaurant?
I have e 4/4, 4/4, 4/4, 5/10, and 4/4
how many words today?
this was en 6/18 - the clue I just gave
119
I keep chipping away at that bottom t and so far have got 24 of the 31 words
there is also en 6/21 nrkii
I do have that, thanks
i have 26 of those t's...ugh
yes, those are from the E one up from the one I need
nice one ren.
ok nrkii so just the C's now?
No, I still need the E, sorry
nrkii: could you be missing the er5/10 that is e + a sweet smelling flower?
I thnk it's an ER
aloy, have that one
then I am alsmot sure you miss the last er 5/10
how about its plural?
got that too... sorry
nrkii try German for teh first (er 4/4 which you should have) and flip last consonant then add a vowel for plural
from that E, I have 4 er 4, an er 5 and an er 6
then you must be missing the one that rhymes with a section of a poem..
that the one clued Aloysius
got it, ty both!
plural!
k
now C's right?
yes, just 2 c's from the middle column bottom
so I'm guessing cr most likely
I only have two cr
well there is 13 of them - write me what u have and I'll try to figure out what u miss
there si 4 CR's
ok let us go
what CR's u have?
cool, so I have belief and angry
cr 7/36 - misspelled kitchen furniture
cr 5/14 - belief
missing the 6 and 7
cr 5/12 - symbol of Cristianity
nite, all.. no Babble in the morn? (sniff) See you next time..
nite, all.. no Babble in the morn? (sniff) See you next time..
Night Aoly.
cr 6/21 =- add a a vowel to cr 5/12
night Aloy
night aloy - tx for the help!
nite aloy
okay, got the cr 6
going to search for the cr 7 now, ty!
so w are down to cr 7 right?
ok it is a misspelled word - dictionary.com says believing, giving cr***
hello all
hey kier
wow that took a lot of attempts, but finally got it
thanks andy!
ok good night everyone, my pleasure nrkii
there is a mispelled word in the babble or?
kier of course not :-) like there is ever any misspelled word here lol
how many o words are there?
kier, it's a shakespeare word...
119 words
night andy!
3 O words
oh... well i haven't actually seen one. or remembered one. or? LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LA LA LA
oh, that narrows it down nrkii =)
sorry kier, just meant that it's spelled correctly for its time, so it will look a little odd, but andy clued it nicely below if you want the hint for it :)
ok... thanks
oh man, I was supposed to be in bed asleep 30 minutes ago -- that was the deal I made when I stayed up for the flip (BAD nrkii! Bad, bad bad!)
if anyone would like a clue or two, let me know...
I guess I'm too foggy to get andy's good clues so I'll try again tomorrow. Nitey nite all.
night jilli
I'm packing it in too
nite folks
lol nrk, i'd like about 61 clues!
jilli, I'll clue if you like -- your call

No more than I will learn that erts is NOT a word sprite :)
adelaide
Esp as or4/5 is allowed!
Hiya, Cat, I didn't see you there!

Thanks, Sprite. I was having this dream about this woman in my office who I fear is a stalker. Truly. Not in a relationship way, but a friendship way.

That's nasty, Kenny. Hope she will back off.
That friend I mean, NOT your wife!

I kmust have tried torrent with ONE n a dozen times sprite :)
Hihihi, me too. And rodent.
FMitch: def for the Tolkien O4/5: 1. any of several cetaceans, as a grampus. 2. a mythical monster, as an ogre.
Do you ever try a word that it says isn't a word, but you swear you have seen it somewhere before, but don't know what it could mean? Mine besides torent, was esso, no idea why I seem to think that's a word, lol
:) Thanks for that sprite.
Yup I do that too Cat. Esso is a chain of gas stations here in UK
Oh yes, Cat, almost daily. Seems like my brain is more creative with words than enable, lol. Esso is a brand of gasoline.
Torrent is a word- it means turbulent, like rapids
hey all!
It is, jaiannah, but it is not in the grid :( And the variant that is, with one R, is not valid, lol. Hey Krys! *hug*
Maybe that is where I got it sprite! LOL I think everyone's brain is more creative than enable :) WE know Jai, we kept trying torrent with one N :)
Hi Krys
hey Krys!
I thought "coee" was a word :(
oops, didnt mean to say WE like that
Held the cap lock down too long, sorry Jai!
'cooey' is, and perhaps even 'cooee', Krys.
The curse of the capslock, Cat... could be the title of a new thriller!
yes, A2Z confirms "cooee" - that must be what I had in my head
cat, I like your icon!
Sure could, makes it seem like being sarcastic or yelling, which I wasn't doing :)
Thank you Krys!
I wanted seco too
And corset.
and... oh, wait, that word is in there!
I tried coronet, wouldn't let me use the O twice :)
Not kind of it, Cat!
I know! After all I have done for it!
All the hours and hours you put into it...
I'm telling you, the ingratitude!
hey that's a great word, maybe it will be in tomorrow's grid, make a note of it :)
I agree, what's a little 2nd use of O among friends, hm?!
I know! Maybe I should take enable out for a drink, talk some sense into him, or just pour martinis down his throat till he see's things my way :)
yay! a seven!
yay Krys!
WTG Krys!
i haven't looked back in the log yet - i bet it's been found already...
We have the usual Tolkien discrimination, Krys. I don't know about the 7, don't think many people have mentioned points or defs yet.
I have 7 of the 9 7's, 9 words left. My brain isn't functioning well right now :)
I have a cr7, de7, es7, sc7, sc7, te7, te7, no idea what the others start with yet.
I have 35 words left to find, and I have only 1 7! I have the 8, though.
whats all this cr7 stuff?
which 7 do you have sprite?
there's a good bunch of clues about 7's posted at 12:25
Cr7 = word of 7 letters, starting Cr.
cr, what the word starts with, 7= letters in the word
I have the 'hell hath no fury' Sc7.
ah..
ok, was hopin you had one of my missing one's :)
i got the 8 :D
I have 3 te7's
good job kit! I have it too :)
Good morning all. What a strange looking grid - looks like an industrial dispute has broken out.
given today's theme: http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/06/2 4/bird.poison.ap/index.html
thanks FM, goes searching :)
It looks strange, but it is fun, Haz. Lots and lots of real words!
yes, vowels and consonants aligning to form unions!
LOL Morning Haz, it's surpringly good once you get stuck in.
Hi Haz :)

yes, for starting letters only
ahh that explains it, hehe
(hyia aleksia)
how many words today in this grid?
119
does anyone have the n5/1?
ne5/10
yeah, it's a slang expression I've never heard of. looks like it should have a singular word that pairs with it, but the matching ne4 isn't a real word
any clues
sound a like another word for a geek but with the 4th letter changed.
thx krys...very strange word
Done. Nice grid today.

Kukana help please for any words
1st re 4/5 is an anagram of the second and sounds the same
aleksia, it's much easier if you say which ones you want since we don't know what you have already
food scraps, or4/4

mine all came up as 5-10 exwren

te5/12 the third canonical hour and 6/21 it's plural
co 6/21 a musical instrument. A small trumoet.
co5/14 - add the french word for dry, or the first three letters of a portion/part.
This can be pluralised to give co6/24
how can i find out what the 7 letter words begin with?
Look under Friends of Babble at the bottom of the page. Then click on Lickety's babble clues and you will get a list of all the second letters and the points values. Scroll through to find the 7 letters.
thanks Haz
htanks a lot haz
You're welcome.
Good sunday moirning ll. I
can anyone clue the OS word for me please?
And good morning to you, hetty.
I've just begun--five minutes ago--and aready found 20 words; his is a splendi grid for listless-lovers
like a beautiful bunch of r****
yay fireworks for me!!!
thanks for the clues!
os4/4 - a word that looks like a fireman has lost the h in front of his water spreading device
YaY!!!
oh, i've already got it, just didnt put it on lickety. thanks both
It is a fun grid, hetty, especially considering half of the eltters refuse to begin a word.
Different kind of challenge. I liike that. Same babble pals. I like that too.
Afternoon Haz, Have you captured all the words?
Good afternoon FMItch - I'm rounding the last 27 up now.
It's a good one today isn't it!
It's great fun! I'm working my way through the ones that got left behind and haven't found anything too peculiar yet.
I kept forgetting to pluralise things this morning. Mind you s**'s law the one day I have more time for a grid it is a fast one.
Did you find yourself purposely trying to slow up?
Can anyone help me with the last sc7/32?
LOL yes I did
The last sc7/32 - the plural of the sc6/21 - think of a cinema/multiplex.
*yawn* just manage dto struggle out of bed to watch the england match. for some reason I just couldnt' wake up today, and even more strangely, Pup didn't jump on me at any point ...
omg! Im an idiot! THank you thank you!
Well, good morning sleepyhead!
Fireworks!
All right! Done. Now what do I do for the rest of the day????
Heavens Ata - did you have a very late night?
I have *no* idea why I was soooo tired!! morning / afternoon all :)
Not to worry - it's worse when you get the plural and forget to put the singular!
Woohoo Angel, love your new innoivations BTW.
no I didn't! but I don't tend to sleep well at any time, so every now and again I just *sleep*, presumably to try and catch up a bit!
Congratulations Charm and Angelsong. Synchronised fireworks for you!

119 today

TTFN Haz
yes, leslie, hooray for us. i started to print out the list b/c it is a short grid and the paper jammed and i think i broke my printer when i pulled out the paper.
later, haz!
Bye Haz,bless you
fmitch, this is a weird question, but has your country changed lately? i remember you with a different flag
Leslie - I have changed from the Union flat to St Georges today as England are playing Equador as we speak so although Im not that into sport - just sending out some good vibes.
oh i see. go england, then.
Union flat?? Union flag!!!
Annie--bad way to start the day; hope the printer recovers. As for me, I went to let the dog out and the deer had gobbled up all my lovely geraniums that were in an urn beside the front door. Pesky beautful creatures
hi leslie, hetty, fmitch
hi ping!
Hi Ping
i'm kim novak today!
hetty, oh the deer! My daughter spent the entire day planting impatiens and the next day they were gone, the deer had a good breakfast.
Morning, ping
morning, hetty
Oh Annie used a wo-rd Annie used a wo-rd!!
oh no! oh the Bambi word.....sorry
LOL sorry couldn't resist.
o o o
im laughing with you, mitch!
Yes, if they saw the flowers on your icon they'd have them in a flash. I sometimes think they watch us setting out pretty things for them to munch on as soon as we're asleep--
I'm sure they think it is very kind of all gardeners the world over to provide such tasty treats.
Anway, guys, I used the word first and I hadn't ecven noticed it in the grid!
Anniebrook, where does your daughter live that Bambis cousins eat her flowers?
my daughter was told that de** do not like marigolds. she will try that soon.
inge, she lives in connecticut
I grew up in Danbury. My icon is the female deer that keeps eating our blooms
Feeling frustrated.. Can I get a clue about the ne5/10
I was in New Mexico last year and planted marigolds the next day they were eaten by rabbits. Thought they hated them
If hungry enough, they'll eat anything, believe me
i guess it is a fight we humans will probably lose. everyone has to eat to survive.
ne 5, like the crazy intellectuals , change the next to last cons. to crossed letter
i'm looking for it too, lara
inge, she lives in wilton, that is close to danbury.
gmorning
morning, harp!!
hi jane
yes, we passed through Wilton onthe way to Norwalk. My parents had a house on Lake Candlewood, now sold
Afternoon! What's the grid like - and what's today's icon theme?
I'm really proud of my icon choice today! Who recognizes it?
the ne word is like the breath mint except the first letter is not c
mary - not the hybrid marigolds i understand
did you guys get the ne word?
i did, thanks inge
thanks
hitchcock, matty
That'll be a challenge for me, given my own personal icon theme...
William Bendix!!!!!!!!!!!\
Will try hybrid next. Must get some work done. Back later.
bye mary
Yes, matty not many dragons in Hitchcock films. Perhaps you could improvise one into The Birds?
will tell her about the hybrids, thanks, evan!
now I know what a "nerd" is I take back my refusal to be characterized as such. I guess it fits. Thought it meant something like "twerp" (that's how old I am)
or "goon"
hetty, im probably your age too. twerps usually are sassy, nerds are just plain smart, as you are!
Found one (icon!) So how's the grid?
I belong to the senior group as well
welcome, inge
My phantom word - creosote! So how's the grid?
grid works well once you are warmed up, finished in less than two hours
Didn't realise the dict. def for twerp - rather harsh!! - A person regarded as insignificant and contemptible
Seniors unite! Let's take over the world
Right on, hetty!
and here we tell the kids that the future is in their hands\
They are hands that we have trained, inge
i pray for the future. i would be very comfortable leaving the future to this group of babblers.
No one recognizes my icon? Which movie?
Annie - that is a lovely thing to say but that is because the majority of us are women!!!!! Let women sort out the problems
Dunno, harp - anyone know mine?
where is movieman when you need him
He is busy wathcing the football!
its bendix and hitchcock in the ad, but the movie, hmmm?
I was joking about "taking over "anyway. Far too may groups already think that way. Our function as seniors is to remind our young of the lasting values we have discovered in our longer lives
so am I, can I get his attention across the pond?
Ok I'm finished
matty--wow, that's obscure! Is it from the magazine?
yes, hetty, well said.
This was actually an easier grid than I expected
Woohoo faerie
whether man or womn, maytters not--tho women usually talk more about these important things
Bravp. Faeriekae
wtg, faeriekae!
congrats, faerie!
Thank you very much
*bravo*
oh face it, we women just talk more!
Nut that's because we know more :)
here i thought we were just better at being social
So we do, evan! And here ndeth the lesson--I'm off to church. See you all later
Well done, Faerie
we talk out problems rather than fight
course, put enough beers in my husband and i'll consider buying a muzzle for him
Bye Hetty
LOL
same for my ex-hubby
does anyone have clues for the 2 o words coming off the o in the column second from right?
18 left all t's
My hubby's at the pub wathching the footie...so anyone's guess what he'll be like on his return!
My ex and I hang out together an awful lot and I have thought about the muzzle recently
morks from or***
Matty this is when you go shopping :)
or4, morsels
gabbilicious
gabbilicious
all O words come from there: one is like so 5, drop first letter,
Love your icon FAerie!
Thanks Matty :)
hmmm....don't have so 5 yet...
I got the mork clue one
Thanks, harp!
so 5 is plural of so 4/4
another is or **. like or**, the whale, change last cons. to first vowel
correction: change vowel to snake
Gracias, faeriekae! I can't believe I forgot a plural!
thanks, too, inge
Es easy to miss the plurals
hmmm- these words are entering quite slow, bbl
Later Nut
What about the o in the lower left hand corner
ok going to mow the lawn Happy Babbling
ta da
all finished
another one down
matty - the clue I got (and got it from) was the chemical ending of sugar
either o will produce the same word os + second vowel + snake
Fireworks!!
and then plural it, matty
ty wren
Woohoo Sheryl... and Ex-Wren!!!!
does anyone want a clue before i go
wtg, Sheryl!
ty mitch
ty esquian
Gorgeous baby esquian

thanks, ExWren! She's my third, Erin.
I have just one 0 left - the one in the lower left hand corner - I already have two or4

think of vevenge of the n**** and change the 4th letter
it's an os4/4 matty
Got it - thanks!
nert
np matty
shoot!! sorry!
oh well...the word didn't work anyway...

lol....ok. Thanks for the clue.
what a beautiful baby!, esp
*esq
got to write a letter to a penpal without computer, tlephone, or car. What a life. See you later
Hi folks! Finally found time to play.
bye inge, hi jacula
Hey Jacula, hows the garden, it must be looking great with all the hard work you have put in recently!
FMitch - garden's looking okay. I'll have to put some pics up sometime.
that would be good Jacs
hmm, I seem to have lost the so6 word. Clue?
p.t. the so4/4 believe it or not.
Cool - I got the eight without even realising it. That's a first.
wow, thanx, would have never gotten it
yw Uncag
93 words found. Not bad for a first sweep of the grid.
I've got 62, but it's going very slowly now...
Methinks the list will be coming out soon (if I could get it to load)
DONE...anyone need a clue??
Not for me yet, thanks, Ouw. Congrats on finishing!
Having become smug at the finding of the eight...I've yet to find a single seven. Any pointers?
Plural of es6, Matty.
sc 7---something people ride with one foot on the ground
most 7's are either plurals or superlatives
Past tense of sc5/12 (to deride or make fun of).
Plural of te6/21.
Thanks!
and then, children like fried chicken te 7/32
what part of the chicken is that anyway?
Afternoon all....happy sunday!!
It's the part that has never actually met a chicken
the little bit of the breast that is sort of loose on boneless breasts
Hi Caitlyn.
hi caitlyn
Hi caitlyn
hi caitlyn
OK own up.who has pinched Babblers list of icons on Angelsongs page??
Not pinched - just moved...it's on the page of icons - go into the menu at the top - the drop down one. It's Hitchcock today.
Thanks matty
I gather England have just scored, judging by the yells from the sitting room!
OK, here we go again. I cannot get into Lickerty's list (I'm on dial up - my broadband was SUPPOSED to be active this week, but talk talk has failed me at the moment) - and Brandyjack hasn't updated his this weekend. Could someone please send me the list at the address in my profle that uses my 'real' name - not a number?
Finally we have sc*** a goal - I really was starting to get worried there. Lets just keep fingers crossed for the rest of the game.
Matt I will email you the list
Better make it our toes, FMitch; it's hard to type with crossed fingers.
Yep - 1-0
Thanks Mitch!
I'll await with bated breath...
It's on it's way :)
True Jacs but I am in completed list, giving clues only mode. and typing very badly when i do.
Thanks, F!
Oh, right, FMitch. I've got 13 left to find and am resisting the list at present.
Matty - not that there's anything wrong with using the list, btw! I've just challenged myself to do without today, if poss.
No scrote?! Disgraceful!
Matty - I tried that, too. LOL
Weel done - I had to go for the list this morning with 15 left.
I've got 46 left - and I haven't used the list yet, but it's coming, so hence the ask...and I've no shame :D
i'm 38 left and I'm getting desparate
BRB. Ne4 to see to vegs to go with lamb roast.
so desperate i don't evenknow how to spell anymore
matty just tried toi send you the clue list from lickety and my server rejected your email address--both of them. Sorry. Must dash

Haz evyroen mixde there keys up?;)
Where in England is FMitch's flag from? I have a friend who is flying one in front of his house. He has some sort of an English accent but I haven't asked him where he's from yet.
ok, no offense taken fmitch...
Minski - It's St. George's flag. The English flag.
I thought your flag is the English flag Jacula.
The flag Jacula and I flag is the Union Jack - that's for all of Britain. The flag FMitch flies is England's flag - the flag Caitlyn flies is Wales'. There are folks here flying Scotland's flag.
that is the Union Jack
I made the desperate mistake when I first came to the UK - England is NOT Britain, any more than Texas is the US.
which encompasses England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales
England <> UK
Mine's the Union flag, known as the Union Jack when flown on board ships.
Northern Ireland - Moozey!
Sorry for my ignorance. Ahha. I understand. Thanks for clearing that up. I knew there were several different flag icons and they all say that you are from England and I didn't really know where they were all from.
Phew Dorens - I am a happy babbler!!! Minski - the flag I am flying today is the English St George one. Actually Moozey according to flag lessons this week it can only be calle dthe Union Jack when on a boat, on land its the Union flag - but hey babble is a continuous learning curve!!!
Moozey the Union Jack doesnt include Wales!! A great bug bear here
OK Minski - pop quiz. Where's Edinburgh? If you were buying a ticket for that city, what would you ask for?
Yes, but Wales has the coolest flag. I love dragons (as some of you may have noticed)
hey if you don't ask you don't know. Oops and I meant Northern Ireland, what will check me to proof read (my parents are from Eire)
Must've been a near miss in the match - just heard cries of, 'Come on!' followed by 'Oh God!'
I assumed it did, though I was thinking the other day did you have some other flag cos I couldn't see how it fitted into the Union Jack LOL
Caitlyn - Wales, rightly or wrongly, is represented by the flag of St. George. You have Henry VIII's Act of Union of 1536 to 'thank' for that! The first Union flag was made in 1606.
Last word... Can I get help with the second te 6/18, please?
Mooz
Moozey - absolutely!!! If you overlay the sepearate flags they make up the Union one excluding the Welsh Dragon.
OOPS
I didn't know that Jacula - see you learn something new everyday!
The Welsh flag is cool...but I imagine it's a bitch to draw LOL
I didnt now that either (SHHHHHHH) Im English anyway!!
I mean Know
That's the fun of Babble. So many different people here with knowledge of different things. It's entertaining AND educational.:-)
2nd te6/18 - muscle that stretches or tightens a body part.
Edinburgh is in Scotland.....isn't it?
sure is
Yes it is Minski
It most certainly is, Minski.
my sister lives there ;
Thank you FMitch! Got it.
Did you know there is a volcano in the middle of Edinburgh?
Yep - but the number of Americans who will talk about "Edinburgh in England" - you'd quail. Keep in mind that I AM American, and it took me AGES to get used to the fact that the UK is made up of a whole slew of separate 'countries.'
no Jacula would that be over but St Alberts seat or whatever it is called?
I realise that Texas THINKS it's another country, and many people WISH LA were another country...but it is different here.
yw moorheit
In the Commonweath Games, the countries of the UK compete independently.
I think many Americans don't underestand the difference between kingdom & country.
Moozey - it's Arthur's Seat, slap bang in the middle of Holyrood/Qheen's Park.
*or even Queen's Park!
the volcano is under the castle, not Arthur's seat
Ooh, Jacula, I love your icon!
I knew it began with an A LOL
Jera - dont forget to email you details
A trip or two over to England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales is definitely on my list of vacations I WILL take. I can't wait. I have a travel bug but no money right now. *sob*
I took a vacation to the UK in 1988. I'm still here...
Did you know Edinburgh has whole streets buried underground? in 1645 Mary King's Close was shattered forever. The plague struck this little community and there is a myth that the local council decided to contain the plague by incarcerating the victims, bricking up the close for several years and leaving the people inside to die. It is likely that this is why the close was nicknamed 'street of sorrows'
Minski you will always have a welcome in the hillside!! LOL matty
I thought I did, FMitch... check your e-mail?
ok, finally down to 30, and I'm going to the list
I have a Welsh flag on my office wall... very cool.
No Jera nothing has come through from you but I have had other mail.
Jera I love your Celtic icon - way cool
Hmmmm... lemme check
Moozey that is really interesting
I've been down there, very spooky
Baby just woke up from nap so we are out to do errands, etc. Back much later. Hang loose y'all.
CU Minski
Sorry, just catching up. I was seeing to the dinner.
Bye Minski catch you soon
Yup, I definitely sent it... maybe it's having trouble swimming across the pond?
Arthur's Seat (the extinct volcano) is to the East of the castle.
Thanks, Moozey, it's my midsummer one... the lovers
Still got 13 words to find. I'd better get searching...
I need one more D... what am I missing?
Jera I will be patient and see if it come in this evening.
de 4 5 de 5 12 de 4 5 de 4 5 de 4 5 de 5 12 de 4 5 de 5 12 de 4 5

hey... 'eden' is in websters what gives
Thanks, caitlyn... but whattya mean?
the de7/32 de5/12 but the most. 4 weeks (((Jera)))
eers
Getting the de stats up!!
Websters means nothing here in Babble-land... we are ruled by the whimsical but iron-clad fist of Enable dictionary...
Thanks, FMitch... another grey box! Gwydion is loving the only child life...
Just got your new message, FMitch...
England has just won the football!!
they're giving away a football?
doren, are you on?
lol bonkler
Woohoo England made it through to the quarter finals - thank goodness!!!!
We've won the match!
yup....and believe it or not, 24 left
Yup 1-0 but who's counting
Huzzah for England! *throws confetti*
i only have 99 left!
YAY England!
you'll get there yoga
I just got on. need to take a break from the yard. It's going to be a scorcher today...
and congratulations to England
how is the grid?
Glad you could join us for your break, stidmama! It's been raining here all morning... the sun just came out a bit ago...
kind of short on vowels, stid
a nice grid today stidmama ..a lot of letters not used..Hi
but it is a great grid when you get stuck in - not as spooky as it looks
I need help with that pesky O in the lower left corner, please?
Phantom word of the day, oddly enough, is 'soccer'.:)
well, I am not really complaining... but wish it weren't going to hit 90 today. My great-aunt is coming over this afternoon to see my garden for the first time, and she wilts faster than a picked poppy in the heat.
Jera - os4 word.
Hooray! Finished for today! ******FIREWORKS*********
it's an os 4/4, but I haven't started monkeying it yet
Well done, rumple.
cr7/36 anyone?
jera it rhymes with ro5/10
Got it, thanks!
1 left, can someone help me with the en 6/18 please?
thanks for the confidence boosters, folks!
Yeahfor rumple!!
os4 - take several things from the middle of faces and knock the tip off.;)
*holding breath for RB*

YAY rumplestiltskin!
Sorry, don't have it, Jacula...
RB - starter course.
en 6/18 --- what you order for dinner
Oops, not Jacula, my eyes got crossed
When you order your dinner you ask for the en****
*still holding breath*
LOL, Jera. You confused me there for a moment.
thank you very much dorens, i dedicate today's fireworks display to you!
cr7/36?
I do that to people a lot...
evening all. come back to round up the last 48, lol.
ooh! I got it! that's ten words for me...

YAY RB!
de4/5 isn't much of a hint, LOL
*throws in chocolate kisses to mix w/ Jera's confetti*
Got it now - thanks.
Hi miametro de 4/5 a small mark on the car im always doing it
So I've had a fun morning, cleaning my daughter's room while she's gone off to camp...
Good afternoon, babblers! Would someone mind offering me a clue for the weirdest word coming from the t in the lower right? Thanks!
(All mine are ordinary so far)
cr+2nd vowel + what you put in your fender if you have a wreck\
hi Layne!
She wanted me to buy her more socks, which I just did rather recently, so I told her to gather up all her socks & we'd wash & sort them & she'd be surprised how many pairs she really had.
Hi stidmama! Hot as blue blazes here -- how about there?
hot, hot and getting hotter! but at least not as humid as a couple weeks ago.
How long is she away for Jera/
layne, i have a few that look weird to me, what numbers?
well Jera, did the sock sorting work?
Anyway, she swore she found all she could. So I told her that every sock I found while she was gone was a week without a certain kind of book she likes (manga, which I swear has brought down her reading grades).
Ahh, that lack of humidity thing. We don't know anything about there here in South Louisiana!
All tr's are related, just keep going up the grid and changing last letters
Hi Layne!
Oh, she found seven pairs, enough for a week at camp if there are no problems.
well its about 85 already on the west coast
With double 2nd vowels
Dorens, I don't have the numbers yet. Will go to Lickety's soon if I can't do it another way.
gonna be over a hundred inland
While cleaning her room today I found TEN MORE.
YoBaby! You're awake!
So no manga this summer *chuckles evilly*
Shut up, ya troll.
It's been a helluva coupla days.
there's one that's like the word for body but a different vowel at the end?
Wyrd, our heat index was about 110 yesterday!
Jera - have you checked in the bed, under the bed, behind the bed, in the closet, in other items of clothing...(yes, I have a daughter too). Hold old is yoeurs?
i would just die layne
Caitlyn, she is gone to camp for two weeks, but then going straight to grandparents' in Georgia for another two. So she won't be home for four weeks.
and then there's one like the thing we light up, minus the last letter
Living in England...my daughter has another month of school this year!
Thanks, Dorens, I'll chew on those a while.
The Sprite just turned 10. I didn't have to look even that hard. She has no "under the bed" as she sleeps on a futon (her chhoice). I just gathered up the trash, sorted some books from shoes & toys, & voila... sock city!
I bet you will miss her Jera (should give you extra Babble time though)LOl
oh Jera, I empathize with the clutter and "lost" things... my kids are going to a single week of camp at the end of July. Hoping they will have had time to do the hard part before I get in there...
yw,. layne
I will miss her, she's a great kid plus very helpful.
Check in the pillow cases...you've no idea where I've found socks - even in the trash
She doesn't use pillow cases. She makes all her pilloews, those square ones from material that strikes her fancy. We gut them & wash them monthly.
YoBaby, everything quiet at your house?
Jera - got yr email to my aol a/c - who knows re technology. Will package up a litte resture trove for Sprite and send it off this week.
Until this year, my daughter spent the whole summer (from late July when school breaks up here) with my mum in Phillhy - we've then joined her at the end of August. As much as I miss her, I've really enjoyed the time 'free' - she's been doing that since she was 7 or 8.
Thanks, FMithc!
*treasure trove!
Fairly. Lily's taking her nap. Alex is fighting the breathing treatments now which is a real switch from his attitude about them over the past few weeks.
Won't let me outta his sight though.
I did find one odd thing... she's always complaining about not having room in her bureau for her clothes... well, I found the drawers half ful of Sunday COMICS!! I guess that would cut down on the space for clothes...
I love my children, and love having them around -- but also think that the "alone with grandparents" time is important. Something I never had as a kid.
YoBaby, have you tried talking to him about them? I know he's young but he may be able to understand some of it.
what breating treatment is he on YoBaby
and how old is he?
He's taking Xopenex through the nebulizer. Just getting home from a brief hospital stay with pneumonia. He's two. It was scary.
stidmama, eavesdropping on your conversation, and I agree wholeheartedly -- grandchildren having time alone with grandparents is an amazing thing, for both parties. (This coming from a grandmother of 6)
ROFL Jera -- with our elder son (teen) it's maps and school papers...
Can't wait until Gwyd is old enough to join the fun, but he isn't fully potty trained yet & they are too old to deal with that...
I tried talking to him about it, Mom. At the mere mention of the word, he starts screeching cuz he thinks he's about to get another one.
YoBaby, what a scary ordeal for you all! I hope that he (and you) will be okay.
Ooh, sorry. Maybe you should try letting Tag give the breathing treatment.
I think she stashes them so she will have something to actually do while she's supposed to be cleaning her room, stidmama... *shakes head*
That is scary YoBaby, my daughter is asthmatic and we have has similar problems
*nods head* sounds hauntingly familiar, Jera!
That's sweet, Stid. We're living right and putting good things out into the universe. So the universe is gonna take good care of us!
though our hospital wouldn't let us have a nebuliser at home we had to go and stay in hospital every couple of weeks when her asthma was bad
missing the third de 4/5. any clues?
Moozey, i just went to the medical supply store and bought one. Is that an option for you?
sending positive energy your way, Yo.
Mia - lions live in these
Well, I'm taking a bit of a break with 30 left... nice talking to you fellow moms about the kid stuff!
Layne I agree also wealways have loads to do with our grandchildren(5) scholl runs etc,but the time we treasure most is when we take the four eldest away in our caravan.......hard work but great fun roll on 22nd july!!
no the doctors wouldn't provide the meds to go in it, as far as they are concerned if they need a neb they need to be in hospital
yoga, you still here?
I like the idea about Taggart, Layne. Unfortunately, he's not here right now but i'll give it a whirl when he comes back.
I am new here. Could someone explain what "de 4/5 means?
My spelling is getting worse!!
word begins with de... four letters....five points
mind you Rachel much perferred the nebuliser than the constant cannula's in her hand
De - the first two letters. 4/5 - a four letter word worth five points.
i'm missing the one after that fmitch
so is it the mask that bothers him?
caitlyn, what fun!!! We try to dream up projects to do with ours at home -- draw maps of the backyard, hide "treasure" and have them find it ... whacky stuff.
no, i lie. before that.
i'm down to ten words and ready for a break...bye
Welcome sharidan
Sharidan, it means there is a word that begins "de" and has 4 letters worth a total 5 points. Check out Angelsong's Resource page (link in the Friends of Babble below)

Yes, Much Better!
and the one about apples for the co 5/14.
Instrument? I'm struggling with three co words as well.
co 5/14 is past tense of co 4/5
Hey, Jen! Hi, FMitch and of course my dear Stidddie!
good. glad to "hear" it.
jaianniah, the E in the bottom row is tormenting me... I have the es 6/21 but need the other two!
I have that co5/14, but am missing another.
matty, a name for a trumpet-like instrument -- begins like c*** on the cob
Have the instrument - I'm missing two co words - a 5/14 and 6/24 - the third letter of both HAS to be the same.
plural the one, mermaid, I just got that.
co 5/14 co + wait just a s****** (shortened version)
then plural
thanks stid, don't I feel silly! by the way, love your icon... such an amazing film...

take out the "R" from the word...means a type of tie....
that is a strange word... thanks jai
OK, I'm stuck on the co5/14 and co6/24 - I know what the first four letters must be...and still can't get it!
matty, i have all the co's -- which ones are you looking for, exactly?
co+ short version of a measure of time shorter than a minute- "I'll be there in a ***"
matty there are 2 5/14's. one about apples, and the other is co + shortword for second.
indeed... thanks jai!
co**** beef hash matty
I have the one that resembles a unit of distance (not parsec, but similar), and I have the one that rhymes with a flower...
Yw!
Right - rethink - I've misstated what I'm missing.
there's another one marso.
matty, do you have the past tense of the first co 4/5?
I'm missing one fo the 5/12 (not the on the cob - I have that one) and the following 6/21
it's like a race cou***, but minus the u, and it's plural.
Do you have the one that rhymes with "toss"?
Jen what I need is the co 6/24. I have the co**** beef. Help please?
Those are the ones. Thanks. I feel very, very stupid
down to 51! this is moving quickly!
JA, it's co + wait just a s***** (shortened version), then plural it
lol, don't matter! the c's were confusing today.
26 to go :D
clues for the es 7/32?
Thanks, Jen. I have 3 left now!!

d7 is the last D I need to get
hi, LA
missing two er 5/10's and an er 6/18..
Jen... it's the superlative form of de 5/12
it's the superlative of de5/12
I think it's less confusing for folks to use my screen name here, since I use it so many places... but if you slip up, I'll try to remember it's me you're talking to!
ne 5/10?
Mollusk, de7/32 is most de5/12
Yes- the forest was so thick and de***- it was the de7 forest we'd ever been in!
ty, erda!!
got it, thanks anyway
jai -- that gave me two words! thanks!
great, got it; thanks :)
Yw! What else do you need?
48 now. gonna go spruce up the living room in case folks want to "set a spell" this afternoon. later! :-)
hi and bye stid :)
K- I'll probably be here!
can someone tell me how many words there are today?
bye and hi LeslieAnn!
119
119, papa
16 left to go, but laundry calls and since i like having clothing that smells not i shall return later. cheers all.
thanks!
See ya, bonk!
co 5/12? I have: opp. of smooth, the one that rymes with the flowers, the one relating to expense.
jai, new duds!
Yes, but still my favorite color!
JA, make c*** on the cob plural
thanks again, Jen.
Jen, you are so fast!
jai, are you finished already?
er6/18 and the following er5/10 are my latest challenge
does anyone have the same problem I have? i am down to one,but according to MY version of lickety's list, there are only 19 C words. I have them all
well, there's 20 c words in the puzzle according to tile stats, dorens
LOL -- a pleasant change from yesterday, when I was literally and figuratively clueless :)
put an "E" in front of flowers; then take out the"O" for the second word...
Are you around, fuzzy55?
That's the Es done!
That's the Es done!
I have 20
right, i see that...but on lickety's list there are only 19...i have them all...don't know what to ask for, since i have all on the list.
i counted 20 cs
an i have double checked definitly 20
lickety's list has 20 c's, dorens...perhaps you're not seeing the ce?
hi everyone!
oh right....thanks. i haven't been counting the ce
hey temple
and after i entered it, i see your helpful entry, bookgrrl. thank you.
BTW- if you go back into the chat log for this morning, at 6:58, I clued the er's, and at 7:04, I clued all the 7 letter words; at 7:215 I clued all the sc's...
wow jai do you ever sleep? ;)
ahh, finally i am done and can go shower.. i got my fireworks
hi temple
that's 7:15
congrats dorens!!
Congrats, Dorens! $%$%$%$%$% BOOM!
yay dorens!!!
well done dorens!!!
i knew you would have your fabulous lists up somewhere, jai
Ty, Jen!
guess i'll go back & read your clues jai!
thanks alll....this was a great one for me cause i basically did it without clues from you all...never thought i could do that!
Congrats. Dorens!!!
well, i'm off to shower..guess i'll see you tomorrow
bye dorens! have a good day.
The last sc7/32 anyone? (not the one that sounds kind of like a one-legged form of transport)
I am willing to make another "list" of words for you- what letters are driving you crazy?
plural of a sc**** door, matty?
I'm still missing a lot of te's
a clue for the 2nd er 5/10 (not the vowel + flower)?
still looking for that one, matty
That & is in my list of clues at 7:04 am
Oh, duh. I had the word, the past tense, and not the plural. Gosh, I'm a moron.
bookgrrl, think of Bible v***** and take off the v
thanks, jen...
thanks jen i need that one too
So do you all want the te's?
yw!
please and thank you, jai
Ok- give me some time...
Crikey - 17 left - and all t's. *sigh*
ty in advance, jai :)
**FIREWORKS**. Thanks babblers for your help!
matty, i did exactly the same thing as you on the sc 7 -- forgot the plural!
Yay, JA!!
hoooray ja!
well done, JA
13 left, all t's :(
go jen go!
hello...
Hi, matty
9 . . .
PLEASE PLEASE!!! the ne5 is driving me BANANAS... anyone have a hint?
Babble stopped there for a minute for me - was wondering if it was my connection.
I'm going to feel really bad if I finish this list before jai gets her t list done, although I'm sure other people need it besides me . . .
ne 5 sounds like a "geek" with a different last consonant and plural -- hope this helps
boston--like the ne*** geeks, but change the letter before the plural.
thanks!!!!
How many left now, Jen?
still on 9, JA :) my monkeys are busily typing away
phew... 25 left
you can do it, boston!
i also had that problem where it stopped taking words for a minute, matty
1. Te + past tense letters; 2. a person between the ages of 13 and 19; 3. plural that; 4. This is the beginning of a bunch of words all related- the root word is te + "THE E**". 5. Add er; 6. Plural that. 7. This is another family of words- start with many of the number after nine; 8. Add an "E" 9. Add an "S". 10. add the superlative ending- the most te5; 11. Take the number and add either, **- sounds like "oar" 12. Another family of words- a canvas home is a te**; 13. Plural it; 14. te+ the word that describes what horses do at a track- take out the "A" te***; 15. Plural it. 16. Sea bird- sounds like "Everyone, take your turn!" 17. add an "E" 18. Subtract the "E", add a "S"; 19. these words sound like words I've already given you clues for- only change the "C" to an "S" te 5/10; 20. The most of 19, a 7 letter word. There you go! Hope these help!
10 left - anyone know the te5/12 and te6/21 anyone? (not the 6/21 meaning not tough)
jai, you're awesom
Go jen, go! I'm waiting for you to finish before I go.
Thanks Jai!
Matty, look at my list!
Oh, you did!
wow, 90 words on my first go-round, think i will attempt listlessness today
brb
okay, 2 more to go -- any help on the tr 6/18, plz?
****FIREWORKS***** Thanks for all your help, guys!
yay, matty!
christmas tr** + consonant + plural
congrats, matty!
tr 6/18 think youngsters between 13 and 20

YAY, Jen34. Thanks again for all your help. Happy babbling all.
have a great day, JA -- thanks for all your help
Night night all!
bye ja, matty
bye, matty
jai, are you still there? Have I thanked you sufficiently for your te list? *makes Jai a cake and sings a festive "thank you" song*
oh, gimme somma that *takes some frosting from the back*
Hi! I'm back! Ty for the cake! LOL Did the list help? I need feedback and ego-stroking, please! LMAO
great list, jai - thanks so much!!!
<passes out slices of cake to all Babblers>
helped immensely -- brought my list down from 9 to 2; definitely gave my poor monkeys a rest, too :)
It was awesome, jai!!!! But I don't get the #19 and 20clues.......... please!
anyone wanna clue the o's in the 4th row?
hi lurking mama! :)
I'm missing two 7 letter words... the ones I have are: cr 7/36, de 7/32, es 7/32, sc 7/36, te 7/32 and both te 7/28... hints for the other two, please!!
r-phone
Done, 119 in less than 1h. Too easy today....
sc 7/32, boston - plural your sc**** door
haven't been lurking long. Hi everyone!!!
wow, impressive scraggly!
one o is the flowers minus the first letter (r****), another is a plural of nasty creatures you find in Lord of the Rings, and the other is like those nasty creatures, but change the second-to-last consonant
aha, thanks jen. i hate words that start with vowels :)
Okayte+ ra** horse- need those letters- add them to te+ hook letter.....then plural it.
hi mamabear!
hi temple!!!
it's raining and gloomy so I am sulking
i'm zoning
more torrents expected here
i think it will pass, mama... it was like that here this morning and now it is nice and sunny
Oh, How I wish it was raining and gloomy! It is stifling hot- my thermometer says 99.9...
need 50+ sun sc^^^^ here today
i'm with you, LA, not crazy about the vowel words, either.
brb
hi rennie!!!!!
hey ya mama!!!!!
how ya doin? got 26 left here
29.....
hi all :)
hitting a wall
hi atalante!!!!
*oof* me too
hi, ata!
I think I'm going to go connect to printer and print the list ....
hitting a wall around the same place as you, mamabear!
brb
I'm still on if anyone needs a clue or two . . .
hey atalante....i hit the wall as well.....
wow! communal wall hitting!
lol
hmmm... how about the e's in the bottom row? i have es 5/12
i have 25 and am missing two 7 letter words...
i have 15 left and am missing 4 7-letter words! i think it's all downhill from here :)
es 6= ford es^^^^ and es 7 = plural
es -- the father will es**** his daughter down the aisle, and the plural
all right then, thanks folks, i'll be filing that under my "how did i miss that??" file
cr 7 cr + vowel + to have a d*** in your fender is not good
Is there anyone in the house who have completed the grid?
de 7 the material that is the most solid is the de***** (superlative of 5/12)
hi wren!
try ms. jen34, wren :)
I'm back for the final missinh 11.
i have, wren -- hi!
*missing
hey jac
sc 7 hell hath no fury like a woman s******
Jen, how many pojnts do you have?
1442, wren
hi jacs! : )
hi Jac!
I have 1447!
wow, bonus points for wren
sc 7, sounds like a child's mode of transport (like a skateboard with a handle), but missing one letter, plural
go Wren!
go, wren :)
i heart jen
sc 7 are birds
te 7 -- a lot of school cafeterias serve chicken te*****
lol, LA
the te4/4 (the sea bird) which is followed by 3 x 5/10, the second one of those have given me 5/15 (that is the plural of the sea bird)
maybe it means you win a prize wren
both other te 7's are the superlatives of the adj. right before them
I finished! 119! but no fireworks? just wants me to upgrade to pro. I needed fireworks.. ha ha, how good it makes you feel ;)
school cafeterias actually serve chicken? not just mush and pizzas?
*gives a babbler trophy to wren*
hoooray ypsigirl! ~*~*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR YPSI*~*~*~*~*~*~
In fact when I first entered the word, it scored 6/15
It's mush, they just call it chicken, atalante
I must be very special
yay ypsi!
ahhh that explains it!
yes, but the content of the chicken t****** looks a lot like mystery meat to me :)
thanks LA!
I never eat in the cafeteria if I can help it
thx TO!
By the way, England won this afternoon
yay, ypsi!!
I'm still trying to think what chicken things they would serve! Gone through toes and tendons (both almost there words!) so far
like chicken strips, atalante
Now I feel special you guys!
love me te****
lol, ata -- think about what they're called in fast food joints
Ata - the te word is plural for fire engines or business proposals... think Elvis, 'Love Me Te....'
Atalante, think Otis Redding... "try a little te...."
Atalante, think Otis Redding... "try a little te...."
girl: your prize is a 299 word grid tomorrow...lol!
chicken toes
Snap, LeslieAnn :)
is today hitchcock day?
oh! ty! I would never have connected that with chicken :)

ne 5/10, sounds like geeks temple
Geeks or Greeks?
Geeks or Greeks?
chicken nuggets I understand! I'll have to remember that one for future reference ...
ne -- an expression of disgust, apparently, think of geeks, but change the letter before the plural
lol, la
aww - i tired that "singular" !
there should be a comma there. it sounds like geeks, temple, doesn't sound like a geeks' temple
Greetings all!

yobaby, both are superlatives and only one letter off from each other. if there is a lot of pressure and tension in a situation, you might say it's the te***** you've ever been in
me, too - but i did see enough to know you can link with msn
How are you Mama?

change the third letter for the other

Clues for either of the er 5/10s?
er 5/10: (wow, I'm thinking)
er 5:10: rhymes with plural of that bag women carry around with them.
(but not spelled the same)
Back from church, refreshed in a double sense, and Mamabear find my chatlog diminished too. Gremlins.
er 5/10: e + a common flower
The first er5/10 adds a well known flower to e. It is pluralised for er6/18. The other er5/10 looks like parts of a poem with the starting letter missing.
Oh, thanks Haz! You are the best at giving clues.
Thanks Layne - glad to help!
Got 'em both. Thx!
You're welcome.
Can I ask how you knew that both of those words you needed started with er?
couldn't they have started with en or ed?
sorry I'm still learning
Sharidan, if you go to the link at the bottom -- Lickety's -- you'll see a list of how many words start with each 2-letter combo. Very helpful!
wow, thank you....that will be a big help!
If you look under Friends of Babble, at the bottom of the page, then click on Lickety's babble clues, you'll find a list of second letters and point values. You can fill in the words you have already got, then see what you're missing.
Some Babblers actually work the puzzle there, because there are boxes to fill in each word. Then, they transfer the results here because they want to stay in the rankings.
I'm looking at it now. Now I see how you all know what to begin looking for. I've got 21 to go and hopefully this will help me get a little further!
YoBaby, how are you getting along?
I still can't get te7,28(the last one)
Sharidan - it's a great way of checking if you've missed out any plurals as well.
Good afternoon Everybody? How is everyone today?
Sharidan, you can also "mine" the entire chat log for clues. I usually get several more words by doing that. To see it, just click on the little square icon just above the chatterbox.
It's the superlative of the curt te5/10
Good afternoon Minveryork - this is a fun grid today.
Hello, Minveryork. Doing quite well on this quiet afternoon. And you?
I got half of the words listless. Now I am going to the list and the chat log for clues. It's a hard grid today.
eeee! I finished! And with only 1 clue!
Congratulations!
I've found it easier than the ones for the past three days or so, because it seems there are more "real" words. Good luck to you!
I can do clues for a bit, if folks need help!
Good job, Beckzilla!
Yay Beckzilla!
thank you
!
I have 27 to go. I've never been so close!
Great! Go, YoBaby, go!
YoBaby, I have 11 left. I'm going to wait until you finish and then let you clue me.
Congratulations Beckzilla on your fireworks! Hooray!
Don't even think about it, Layne. Cuz you know that the minute i have only six to go, Alex is going to wake up and demand my attention!
Well, shoot. You should have the pleasure of cluing someone, on the first day you finish. Cluing is fun, and an art in itself.
Layne,I don't know how it can be easier for you.You can only use letters on the bottom part of the grid!I do agree with you in that there are more real words.
thats me finished by all
hannah lou - well done and bye!
Congrats, hannah lou!!
I've clued a few times before. You finish. Then come over and help me cheat (I'll let you hold the grandbabies if you do)! ;-)
YoBaby, hannah lou is 13 years old, and she's finished!!
Yay Hannah Lou!
hannah lou is a bit of a phenomenon - she's incredibly fast at solving these.
Latne, you're right.Cluing is an art in itself. I haven't developed that talent yet.But I hope to soon though.
Minver, I thought cluing would be easy until I tried to do it! I really messed up a few times -- giving too little info, giving too much, using other grid words in my clues, etc.
Hannah Lou, you're an inspiration!
Giving clues is part of the fun of babble.
I need help on the last de 4/5
The last de4/5 sounds like how you would start a letter and uses the letters of the Bambi word
LOL, Haz!
I love cluing, unfortunately, I am not fast enough.By the time I get my clue in, others have already given much better clues! I am glad there are so many good cluers because it helps me out a lot with the puzzle!
You're good, Haz. I was sitting here thinking how to do it.
I enjoy working out the clues but it can be hard to know how easy or difficult to make them. I love it when people get them!
So speaking of clues, can I have a clue for sc 7/36?
Never mind, I just got the sc 7/36 word. It'a real one
sc7/36 is the past tense of sc5/12 - to pour derision on something..... but you've got it.
Just found an error inLickety's list--the second "es" should be 6 letters, not 5--should I tell him or does it not matter?
ops--foirget it. My page was skewed and there IS an es 5-sorry
Does anyone have a clue for the co 6/24 word please
I hadn't noticed that - es6/21, es7/32, es5/12
I already have the co 6/24 that you eat on the cob.
Actually I already have the de 4/5 you gave me the clue to. I still need one though. How do you know what order they are in when there are a number of de 4/5? I am looking at lickety, but that doesn't necessarily tell what order they are in. Unless I'm using it wrong.
I think Lickety's list goes in alphabetical order, right?
co6/24 is the plural of co5/14 - add french for dry if you know it, or the first three letters of a part/segment. Pluralise it for co6/24
sheridan--don't know how to use the list, but do you have the d 4/5 that sounds like a college adiministrator?
If you say the last de4/5 that places it on the list.
I got that one too
let me look at lickety again to see what I'm missing
and the pesticide?
There are 2 co 5/14 words & I don't have either one.
haz gave you the clue for one, Minver, the other is past tense of an apple co**
co5/14 - indicating that there is a co4/5 in an apple. I have clued the other one.
The d word that sounds like an administrator doesn't work. It said that it was not found in the dictionary.
it's a Hawaiian goose, Minver
Tips for the ne5, please?
i have a 4 letter word thats is 105pts LOL
de4/4 - the college administrator sound-alike uses the letters of the requiring ne4/5
CR 6/21 & CO 6/21(not he corpse)
ne5/10 - hetty - you know the word used for studious people/geeks? Replace the d with t and pluralise.
cr6/21 - add a vowel to the preceding cr5/12 (angry_
cr 6/21 is the same as the one above it with a vowel added to the end
co 6/21 is like a trumpet
co6/21 - musical instrument or container for ice cream
thanks ping
Is there really a word worth 105 points on the puzzle
yw

Funny, I have a hang up about that geek word. I already had it listed but was more concerned about a babbler calling me one than about entering it! So call me geek forever
Thanks Haz, and bye now

I am just sitting here looking at the absence of vowels there myself, ElfWord
I have only finished twice before. There is something wrong with my computer I think. That's why I get no fireworks. At least I can say I have completed a grid before. All the other Babble supporters gave me FWs.
none can Elf, no S, G, Middle T, corner O, next row, no N, X, O, 3rd row, no R, R
ne 5/10 may i have a hint?
Elfword, the upper left corner doesn't have any words starting there
oops, meant corner N, top row
sheesh, no T second row
jeffer, square kids are called ne***, but change the d to a t
ty bookwyrmish, once more
If someone is a computer geek, they are a ne**. But you have to replace the d with a different letter and then pluralize it. That is for the ne 5/10 word jeffer.
also, 4th row down, no E
Does anyone have a clue for the es 5/12 word please

hate it when that happens.
last te 7 is shortest, most abrupt
yay, shade
I'll hang around to clue for a little while, as I evidently disappeared a while ago. ;)
thanks, nrkii
yep, Pacific nrkii :)
Cat, oh, I was on from flip till 2:30 East Coast time, so long asleep before you :)
yep :) But when you arose, I was still alseep lol
wait, I backassed that LOL'
hmmm, I knew there was something faulty in my logic!
or did I, yikes, lack of sleep LOL
off to run some errands all, see ya later! byeee
see ya cat
feeling stupid. can anyone help with the cr's I have only gotten the 5 14 and my brain is just not working
cr 5/12 is angry or out of sorts
(or a christian symbol)
cr 6 is same plus vowel
cr 7 is c + color + a talking tree from Lord of the Rings
Lara, you add a second vowel to the cr5 nrkii has given you for the cr6. Heaven knows why
thanks I think something was blocking that side of the grid...
cr 7 means believing
Goodbye Cat9x! I'll See you tomorrow in the chat log!
and ends like something to do with teeth
Congratulations ShadeEagle on your fireworks! YAY!
hey lar its me!
a clue please for de 7/32
yer cuz
magzel, de 7 is most de 5/12 (stupid, or thickly settled)
Are you leaving, Cat? Thanks a for all your help--seee you demain
if you need a clue for de 7/32, then you're the probably the best at being the de 5/12 before it. ;)
hey chickie
hey! how many words?
119, cstarling
119 words
snap nrkii
thanks all! but I meant how many does my cuz have so far :)
62 so far I got held up at the birthday party
lol, sorry, so used to the other question
snap hetty?
I started with 65 to do at 2p.m. and I'd finished by 3
I have 84 so far, about to head outside with the kids, water the garden, how was the partay?
thanks nrkii i got it.
yes, a fast grid today I think
yw magzel
I think I blew through the grid in ...maybe slightly over an hour? I dunno, it was close.
I thought we were thinking as one again. Don't you use "snap" as a way of pointing out simultaneity?
Does anyone have a clue for the te 6/21 word please
hetty, never heard "snap" used that way ... maybe a regional thing?
almost typed in a word.. he he he move cursor over...
te 6/21 - plural of the te 5/12 before it.
te 6/21 is either plural of te 5/12 that sounds like abrupt
It comes from a card game we used to play as children. Sorry to have mystified you--lol
or, soft and vulnerable
cake presents dull you know sharon... this 7 cr is buggin me I am having a color block in the clue I got the tree part
I do that all the time C Starling, but I haven't done it today yet. I've caught myself like you just did though
(opp of tough)
Lara, c + color (one of the flag colors) + tree
the cr 7 color is my sisters initials
I don't have the te 5/12 before the te 6/21 yet guys
minver, sounds exactly like the last te 5/10
the te 5/12 is the same as a car made by toyota minus the L at the end of it
hi all - back for more
yeah, what shade said
hi Ping!
hey!
hi nrkii
good clue shade, I couldn't think of it
not to be confused with te5/10--sounds exactly the same
thanks, that's actually how I've always thought of that
Kim Novak - Vertigo Ping?
any guidane on EN 6/18
yes, nrkii - i love vertigo
en 6 18 is main dish at restaurant
en6/18 = part of a meal
comes from the French for "between"
is the birds your fave or are you shooting for the coolest photo of the man himself?
Ping, en 6/18- en plus the plant that leaves grow on.
the birds is def one of my favorites -- most campy I'd say
tyhe big plant
thanks, everyone - got it - i think i've missed that word on at least two previous grids - pass a fish!
ummm...minver...leaves do grow on most plants...last i heard
I was def looking for "the birds" when I went icon hunting
lol good point cathyar
i was seeking kim novak
So how would you classify what I thought was a plant
Once again, proof that I am clueless at giving clues!
um.... it's not a bush...it's not a shrub...but it's a tr4/4
funny thing about vertigo, I remember my dad telling me about this amazing scene where Jimmy Stewart pulls Kim Novak out of the water by grabbing her under her double-d's, and I've never watched the movie the same way since...
min, not so!
but we got the idea...those of us who already had the word.
yjsy
sorry...i'm clueless at pickin up on some of the clues. lol
I read the clue exactly the way you meant it. Different people read clues different ways, and what works for some doesnt work for others.
I know that it is a tr 4/4, but what is that classified?
interesting - i've seen vertigo many times and that scene is not one that stays with me at all
Did you know that tr 4/4 can be past-tensed?
i think ...not being an agriculrate, but i think they are classified as tr4/4's
Please, nrk, what on earth are double d's?A babble term?
hetty, breasts, large ones, kim novak sized
there's an obscure/wonderful french film by chris marker called sans soleil - have you heard of it? in it an interesting reading of vertigo and the image of the spiral, time, memory
sounds like too much drug use ping
need 2 to finish pleeeease. te 5/10 amd te 6/18, the second one. thanks
Elf it's actually a past participle used as an adjective more often than an active verb--but dogs can tr** a bear
so many things do, cathyar!
Oh, I see. My own are E's then
te 5/10 is very short and abrubt. Very *****.
lol hetty
and rather li ke the owrd for a verb form
te 6/18 - You gain more points by putting words in this game into different ******es. Adding 'd', or 'ing'.
got them and fireworks too. thanks you everyone for all the help.
yay magzel!
My mistake, the second te 6/18. Rhymes with a commonly used device on Star Trek ships.
does anyone need any clues. i can stay awhile, it's raining here and i so need to do the garden but thats out.
Any 7 length words besides cr 7/36, sc 7/36, and te 7/28?
I'm back! Hi all! Just to pop in her, a tree is a plant, a woody one, and also some "shrubs" are classified as trees. Anyway, came by to see if aonone needs any clues. :)
sc 7/32 = the things that you watch movies on
es 7 to go along and chaparone someone, make it pleural
another sc 7/32 = little wheeled toys that kids ride on, drop an O
all right, I'm gonna get going - I'll, uh, see you guys at some point
de 7/32 is most thickly settled, or most stupid
bye shade!
Woah, that was a lot. Thanks, I got all of those.
hi, all! there's a te7/32 that is plural of legal te****.
te 7 something very gentle and soft, the pleural and another te7. short- the most
hey Lib!
and there are two te 7/28, both basically same except for third letter
hi, cat!
i think thats all
libarebel, another hint?
a book by F Scott Fitzgerald, TE**** is the Night
nrkii, love your icon! Love Hitchcock, my fav is Rear Window.
te7/28-- chicken te*****?
or, in judging steaks, not tough but te****
or Elvis, Love Me ***** :) awwwww :)
Cat, RW is among my favorites as well! I was saying earlier that I love the Birds because it's very campy.
I wanted his cameo from the birds, th man in the pet store w/ little dogs, bu it was really poor quality-- nice icons, all!
The Birds is very campy, but a wonderful thriller :)
janet leigh screaming was a bit too scary!
OMG, I'm so dense. I'm even eating the things at the diner where I'm at, and I still couldn't figure it out.
how do you fix up an icon and how do you get on the map of where everyone lives and ehere is the map
Remember Tha Alfred Hitchcock Hour?
elf used a word!!!
Wait, maybe ya'll are too young to remember that? lol
loved the AH hour!
Bad Elf!!!!! :)
magzel... when you go pro, you can put an icon up
i am pro but how
not me (too young)!
click on My Account, and you can customize there
The double for Janet Leigh I think lived in the city (SF) was murdered not too long ago.
I usually get my icons from Google.com/images
That show was the best Lib, watch it, then be told it's bedtime ! LOL
I thought a tree was a plant,but I was told otherwise
I've seen the birds so many times... every time the birds attack, the attacks are preceded by a bird insult!
what years was the AH hour on?
lol
min, a tr** is a plant!
Congratulations magzel on your fireworks!Good for U
sometime in the late fifties, early 60's I believe?
I think the comment was that you said en + the plant with leaves, and someone pointed out that other plants have leaves too
as in the gas statin blowing up... a waitress said 2 southern fried chickens coming right up!
it sure is a plant nrkii and can be some shrubs!
LOL Lib!
oh, creepy, cat!
Lib, that's true!
about the double!
Darn it! I was just bragging before that I hadn't put any words in the log!Spoke to soon! Slap me w/a fish!
and tippi hedren started it by getting lovebirds just to impress man!
yep, I saw a show awhile back on A&E, profiled her.
Min, all you had to say was the plant with bark and then we all would have asked if you meant DOGwood? AHAHAHAHAHAHA ... we amuse ourselves so much....
She was 80ish maybe when murdered
lol, nrki!
Now that I made a huge error, can I still ask for clues
just checking to see if i have an icon
of course!
mag, it's black
yep, she'd be up there
that happened to me when I tried to load a file that was too big
you may need to save the pic on lower quality to make it work -- I had to do that for Father's Day pic of my dad but he didn't mind so much
if you change the file extension to png, it gets small...
Minveryork, what clues do you need? Please don't let us tease you into silence! :)
see, now this I didn't know, tx lib
I just downsize the pic I want, and change it to a jpeg, works everytime.
I didn't know that either, thanks Lib :)
also. you can save a web page & change xtension to jpg
right, cat!
Hi. :D I'm missing a 7. I have cr7/36, de7/32, es7/32, sc7/36, sc7/32, te7/32, te7/28, & the other te7/28.
and png too, though I use a mac...
another sc 7 32 alexia
one is what you watch movies on
I also you the free program, Grab Capture, take a phot of it, web page works too, crop it etc, and save as a jpeg.
and the other is a kid's ride-on toy, minus an O
ohh, thank you. ig ot it.
*use
hell hath no fury as a woman sc7/36...
I got*
screwed over? lol
nice-- free program?-- I use photoshop
lol, ct!
scalded
Yes, love free programs lol
lol, nrkii!
LOL nrkii
hard to come up with others...
cr7/36 and cr5/14 any clues out there?
cr 5/14 = belief
cr 7 = believing
cr 7 = C + color + talking tree from lord of the rings
cr7/36 - in order to make someone believe you, you might have to show your cr----, but take off the -ials on the end of that word
ty got the 2 of them
Vicuna, I was just thinking of you this morning!
And what were you thinking of me, nrk?
(thinking, ugh, still need to get back to your website -- I'm such a swiss-cheese-brain!)
Boy, I'm sorry to have made you think you were a swiss-cheese brain! But of course I do encourage you to get to my site! lol
(Phew, at least she wasn't thinking, "That Vicuna is such a loser!")
hey, warren buffett is giving away his money -- do you think if I send him a very very very very nice letter, he'll give me a few million? I'm deserving...
It's always worth a try!
Dear Warren,
Hi, all! Quickly, before my server goes down again, I am having trouble eith the Internet...Please pass this along to the night crew when and if I am not there- I am Okay, but the DSL line is bad...Thanks
I understand that you are having a problem with excess money...
(That was a message for Warren Buffet, not you, jaianniah!)
Dear Warren, How are you? I am fine. I have been a very good girl this year. I understand that you are having a problem with excess money (thanks for that Vicuna). That can be a troubling problem. I would like to offer my help. Please send me 3 million dollars -- I mean 30 million dollars -- via cashiers check. I promise to make good use of your money. You could not find a more deserving or grateful girl to give your money to in the whole wide world. Thank you, and happy giving. NRK
I knew that! But thank you, I need money, too! I am having a problem with lack of money.....and too much month...
LOL,Nerky!
hmmm.... maybe I should start with Dear Mr. Buffett? More formal....
It's always touchy these days, whether or not to be formal with strangers.
I think it should be "Dearest, Sweetest, Mr. Buffet...."
See, I started out as Sally from Peanuts doing a Dear Santa letter, but I ended a bit more adult, so I'm torn....
Or possibly simply "Your Exellency"
Nrkii, JUst tell him he is HOT, that always works, Dear My Hotty,
*Mr
Sally would go with Dear Warren I think.
dear hot moneybags:
lol
moneybuns?
LOLROFL
mr. moneybuns
That's it, libarebel!
lol
the mr. does it :D
Wow! The internet hasn"t crashed yet!
shows respec! lol!
LMAO
r-e-s-p-e-c-t!
Warren, if you have any of your staff out there trolling the internet watching the chatter about you, I just want to point out that I have maintained all appropriate respect for you, and that I am still a very very very deserving girl.
I am not responsible for the lack of propriety of those around me.
Oh come on nrkii, you know you want to call him Mr HotMoneybags SIR!
Hey, Mr Buffet, nrkii may be a gold-digger, but only in the nicest and most deserving way possible! (or does that not help your cause...?)
oooh, nose a-brownin'
LOL Vicuna!
a gold digger implies that I'd actually trade favors or marry him for his money -- I just want him to give it to me
LOL
how altruistic, nrkii :)
True enough. No strings attached is the only way to beg!
he's turning to philanthropy, think of how hard it must be to find the worthiest causes... just trying to help him out here
all heart, nrkii!
The BIGGEST! :::wiping tears away::::
He is giving away something like 30 billion dollars, how about I give it away FOR him, and take a measly 0.1 percent cut?
as my administrative fee, just to cover my expenses of course
Isn't he giving it all to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation? lol
(yes, silly man, I think he is... I could do better!)
if i give you (looks into wallet) $3.67 can i have a clue for the cr 6/21 please
LOL ak!
we could split it
cr 6/21 is cr 5/12 plus a vowel
(Oh, I have to go tuck the darlings into bed now, so I'll be back later for my last 12 words, and any further news on the money extraction project.)
LOL
cr6/21, think of what Jesus was nailed to, with a vowel on the end.
found another nickle -- please throw in the de 7/32 also
the game lacr***
+ 2nd vowel
more de5/12
now why didn't i think of that word!!
thhe de***** thicket
more thick headed
brb -- phone call from old friend...
unfortunately not a call from warren buffett, sigh...
lol
ty for the clues the check is in the mail
I don't take check's ak, cash only, had too many problems with checks :)
I will take Visa, MC, first born? :)
huh be careful what you wish for, my first born is a piece of work LOL
LOL!! So is mine!
we could trade
How old is yours?
Does anyone have a clue for the te 6/18 word please
Mine is 25 :)
17, might not see 18
no kids here-- arms or legs?
Actually I need both te 6/18 words if you have both.
LOL
te6/18-- verb forms or knots up
te 6/18 what my jaw does whenever my teenage son goes out
lol ak!
LOL, the other is same, but change last vowel on the word
Thank you! I don't like it when I ask for clues for real words. I feel better asking for clues for weird words.
ty, cat-- had missed that!
you're welcome lib! Don't worry about it Min, we all miss "real" words, all the time :)
Hi I am new here and have to ask a question. When you are asking about clues, and giving letters and numbers, what are you referring to. I am lost. I have 11 to go.
ne 5 anyone
i'm all out of money though
te4/, refers to the number of letters in the word, then the number of points
will clue for beer...
all hail janb, you got all but 11 on your own!!!!!
ne5, sounds like a word for Geeks, but chage the D to another consonant
freebie ak, ne 5 = sounds like your kid gets on your ne****, change ve to T
liked that clue nrkii
your recent conversation remindsd me of a idea for the babbler store: vouchers for free words, not just clues, when you are down to your last three (grid below 200) or last 5 words (grids above 200)
we use ***** to blank out letters that are for the clued word, so people can get them on their own...like someone wants ap5/15 lets say, we say like Johny Ap***seed
free words! great
janb if you link on lickety's babble clues at the bottom of the page..it tells you the first 2 letters, how many letters in a word..and what the word is worth points wises.
money for nothing words for free!
pouring an icy cold one for lib
well, ty, ak :)
Thankyou, I have been sitting here addicted for literally hours. I am hooked.
what else is new? I finished at :24 this morning and keep coming back to see who is playing, etc
*8:24*
glad you added that 8 inge, i was trying to figure out the time
inge, great idea! add it to the store shelves please!!!
wow..inge..I thouht you meant 24 minutes after midnight.
dont I wish I could work that fast!
17 left, there is a light at the end of the tunnel
most of the words I get are from ya'll talking.
me too inge. I have to keep coming back to see how everyone is getting on. I got my fireworks at 10.38am. (That is about 4pm UK time)
seadove, from the south are you?
aknitter, I have 15 words left! Are you up for a race?
oh...sort of..family is..so it rubs off.
i'll lose for sure but ok
in california though.
ya'll is southern california? lol
lol
no!
I asked for both te 6/18 words before,I but got only one clue. Does anybody have the last te 6/18 word?
minveryork are you cheating in our race? asking for clues?
Its the same as the first te you asked for, just change the last vowel in the word Min
I gave that clue to you earlier, you must have missed it Min
Oh,I am sorry aknitter! I didn't know I could not ask for clues!Okay, nobody clue my question I just asked!
if i give you the clue do i get bonus points?
In all fairness, she asked for the clue prior to the race, she just didn't see the answer. Ok, clue already given, now ak can have a clue :)
cool sc 7/32
If you give me a clue, then I will give you a clue. But I wouldn't rely on me for clues, as I'm not very good at it. Akniiter, clue or not to clue, that is the question!
hi all, I'm back
sc7/32 is plural of what you watch a movie on :) The big sc****
whispers to minveryork -- perhaps if we bicker over clues everyone will give them to us to shut us up!!!!
X Wren, you have an excuse. isnt all of Englanddn celebrating???
Nobody is going to beat me today, I have more points than anyone else. My total is 1447 - 5 more than everyone else!
aknitter, the trick is to get someone who isn't racing to ask for clues for you
of jeez cat, i just spent 10 minutes and wasted a good clue on a word i already had but hadn't entered
hey there exwren, how'd you pull that off?
Min, you give clues just fine, do not let what happened earlier change anything, ok?
LOL ak, sorry!
hi all!
hi fran!
LOL, How did you do that Ex Wren?
hey nrk!
Min, I echo what Cat said -- don't stop cluing!
i'm waiting for exwren's answer about the points
Hi everyone, does anyone have the other sc7/32? I am trying to help the race between Min and aknitter
Hi can anyone help with the 2nd co 6 21? Please??
It's a mystery. one of my te5/10's (the plural of the sea bird) gave me 15 points
jee whiz, like the little wheeled thingies that kids ride on, minus an O
lara plural the 5 12 above it (body word)
lara, like what you take in college (not classes, but co*****) minus one vowel
EX Wren, dont count on those points to still be there in tomorrows total. Dr. God giveth and taketh away....
lara, plural of the co5/12 that sounds like a college class
thanks nrkii
good evening, all!
I have 42 to go!
how about the first co6/21?
i am so challenged tonight clues anyone (but dont tell min)
go stid!!
hi stid!

You would do better celebrating England's soccer victory
Thanks, I thought I tried that earlier...oh well...
jee whiz you are aswsigned to help only me, didn't you get the memo?
I am well. thanks, inge! Spent most of the day in the garden working or visiting with my great-aunt and her sons. We had a lovely time.
Oh sorry aknitter, I guess I misread the memo...I thought it said to help both of you...I will try, but don't tell minveryork.
okay, going to look at the list for the first time today... back in a sec.
lol
memo just in: from W. Buffett... dear NRK, nice try.
How about any of the er5's or er6? Pay attention aknitter.

Ford model es**** (also a chaperone)
er 5 and 6 er+ flower with thorns and the s
Fran, get out of my head!

second er5/10, take the O out of the er6 that we just clued
England are not playing well in this tournament, it will be a miracle if they even get to the final. They are overpaid spoiled brats, most of them!
i would nrk, but i haven't found the door!!
Thanks, guess I didn't help you that time aknitter.
fran, I knew you were going to give that last clue, because it was same as mine!
LOL FRAN
so 5/10 anyone
plural of so 4/4 (takes all so***)
add an s to the so4/4 that means arrange
ty nrkii
Hi Franmag! How are you? Welcome to today's puzzle
why do i always miss the easy words
very welcome ak
How about co 5/14 and the co 6/24 that follows it?
hi minver!
co + not just a min but just a *** (shorter time)
co + the tiniest amount of time and the s
ACK, now aknitter's moved in!
What kind of words are those? No wonder the monkey wouldn't cooperate...thanks again.
it's getting crowded in my brain
dont worry nrkii, lots of empty space left
ROFL inge -- too true!

It's always crowded in my brain, nrkii. Snap again
hi stid!
hi hetty!
hi hetty!
Well hello stid and welcome to the easiest grid for a long time.
aknitter, I laughed at one of your messages before.I step away for just a minute&now I have to spend my racing time catching up on the log! I'm sure you are ahead now aknitter since you have Jeewiz cluing for you! How many words do you have left now akniiter?
Hmmm...guess I forgot to learn that fact in my trig/calculus classes.....Probably didn't learn a lot in there.
hetty, did you hear? warren said "NO GO"
i am sure it is very obvious to all but me ... but i can not figure out the last de 4/5
ty for co5/14 & plural-- 26 left!
te 5/12 and 6/21 right after the camping shelters elude me...
Minver, don't worry about me clueing for aknitter. She keeps giving me clues instead.
jee whiz is NOT cluing for me, who told you that????
I finished a looong time ago and am ready to clue in my hamfisted way
(who is warren?)

found it by monkeying
thanx. de 4/5 anagram of animal
ak, sounds like bambi
last de4/5 is an anagram of Bambi
like the de5/12, drop the last vowel
good clue hetty, I always feel so well educated when you clue...
stid, he was always going to give it away, but was planning to wait till he died, now he's moved the timetable up
In your memo you told JeeWihz he could clue only for you.Didn't you say that in an earlier message before?

This si much better than boggle, t5xhyperbole. You get us as well as the game
sn 5/10 ;) this look
stid, a contemptuous look
stid, a facial expression of disdain
a grimace
a smirk

No I'm not TWD. I had a litle drink about an hour ago--then a phone call from my beloved youngest child in Oz turned my hands to jelly
hetty- is your child okay?
Do you have the Elvis song "Love Me Te****? and its plural?
And for your education Stid, I was trying to type that Sheridan's School for Scandal had a "Sn***well" in the cast
i have those jee whiz, don't have the goruping after the jaw tightener
I'm still on sc words.I need both sc 6/24 words please
te 7's are both superlatives, in case you are looking
hetty, all okay?
Thanks for the elucidation, miss hetty! I admit to have been somewhat more confused than normal...
Minver, change the final consonant on the sc6/21 that sounds like a door.
I'm (almost) sure en*** was rejected earlier...
sc 6 24 = s + belief
Yes, she's fine thanks Stid, but so loving and so far away, I always weep for a while afterwards. We promised to be watching the soccer at 7 a.m. our time tomoow to see the Ozzies win yet another game
The other sc6/24 is past tense for sc 5/12
sc 6/24 = got a goal, or home run
Yes Geeewhiz--like tr** and tr**d
Oh sorry, aknitter, forgot about the memo again.
okay, I understand. Mamas love their babies... I hope the Australian team does itself proud in the world cup...
hetty, good to hear that everythings okay -- I understand about the weeping, feel same sometimes when I leave my parents house
lol jee whiz, want to make up for it?
What's everyone's status? Me: 73 words, 965 points.
17 to go, Elf!
Yeah, tell me what I need to do....
the te 6 just above the canvas sleeping place
got 97--1249 points...
Whereas sc7 adds an "n" to express something more like the sn***well
te 6/18 looks like number (plural) plus either/**
aknitter, it's a type of muscle, sounds like more te5/10, but change last vowel to O
do you have a sen***? Well this is like that, only with a "t" Think bandage
ty all for the clues
aknitter, are you done?
Hetty, what is Sheridan's School for Scandal? It sounds interesting.
Okay, I need hints for any word with an x in it, I don't think I've used it once yet.
er 6/18 please?
hey everyone !
i just entered the last word Yippeee
yay aknitter!!!!!!!!!!
me too!
I don't think the X is used today Elf
hi helen!
e+ flower + plural
YAY aknitter! *knits furiously to catch up*

Congratulations aknitter on your fireworks! Hooray!
nrkii, pass the fishy please... (*facepalm*)
yay, aknit!
Does anyone have a clue for the sc 7/32 word please
min, where movies are shown
What you're looking at this very second, plural.
sc 7/32 like the motorbike but with 1 o
or, plural of kid's ride-on toy, minus an O
min, it's a plural of the doors
lol nrkii !! great icon !!
silver sc6/21 plural
the other is your computer sc^^^^\
hey helen!
thanks helen
Woohoo, just broke 1000!

later aknitter!
Franma, I'm so impressed. I tried to burn CD's of our videos and had to give up--not enough techinical skill
aha! just searched and found Sheridan's School for Scandal -- tx for adding that to my education Hetty!
down to FIVE... I need the cr 7 please.
c + color + talking tree from Lord of the Rings
(means believing)
So now you can enjoy Snake as well! I once played Lady Teazle--many years ago
I think cr7 means believing...
aha! thanks! I am "believing" now!
hetty, you acted? that's so great! I can't act at ALL, but I wish I could.
Yes ,l ib,=it means something like credulous
cut my remaining total by 25 % - gotta go & unpack the car now
ty, hetty!
see ya later helen
later helen :)
If google me, nrkii, (Hetty Clews) you'll see some of my exploits listed
DONE!
YAY STID!!!!
bye helen, see you later.
Congratulations Stid! Not at all surprised you did it so fast.
back to get my last 2--I think it is not meant to be, LOL
well, I did have a LOT of expert help, after all! :-)
which do you need, pam?
Come on. Pam, you can do it., What do you need?
no idea, a t from the bottom right and an s from the 2nd column on the left, one is 5 lettters, one 6 and I am kind of enjoying tearing at my hair when I come back to Babble...
evening!
there is a te 6 from that corner that is a type of muscle that contracts...
hi feather!
pam, possibly sc 6 24 which is s + belief?
i have the muscle and the belief, though methinks i may indeed be lacking both 8-)
hi feather!
we did the second coat on all but the dining room, and i got a start on washing walls :)
nice job, feather--is that a new home, too?
st 6 = road, avenue
yup
nope, we moved in 3 or 4 years ago, but i have a 2 year old, so hadn't gotten all my projects done before i got pg.
s + belief minus last letter?
you know, if i get it, i get it, if not, that's okay, too as the game is fun
washing walls because i had cheap candles that let off tons of soot in one corner
sounds like it is great you got to it, feather
se 6 that is something I have to keep quiet?
yep. i hate white walls!!!! if i had to stare at them one more day i would have gone crazy. well, the walls are still white, haven't gotten to them yet, but you get the idea!
i have no white walls, feather, so I know what you mean.
tr 5 that is tr + finish?
yes, nrkii, got both the hush hush and the tr*** setter
all the others are plurals or in other ways related to words you should already have
really, it's ok, this is kind of fun chatting with y'all
the only walls in our house that are still white are the ones where I don't have the money yet to change them...
i'm doing "golden tan" in the living room, and "emerald something" in the dining room, with one accent wall of the green in the living room. have green curtains and pillows, so the two rooms should flow nicely
I have cans and cans of paint for my house, but haven't yet had time to get the painting done
I can't seem to do this!My husband keeps getting me side tracked.I can't remember what clue I asked for.
it's not truly emerald green, more of a dusty green
I hope I don't change my mind about the colors !
and yesterday, I found TONS of plurals and related words that I had spaced on, so I shall search now--thanks for the heads' up!!!!!!! That will make it easier
Hello featherbee! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
pam, look for past tense too ... total point goal is 1442, if that helps
Sounds awesome, feather
Does anybody ave a clue for the sc 7/32 word please
i know nrkii, i get so nervous choosing! i'm still nervous, this is the darkest color i've ever used, and they're both from the third spot down on the color card, so not really that dark
that sounds just lovely, feather, I am painting my "office" brown, ceiling too -- the boys' rooms have murals, the living room is a soft yellow and will someday have a sunny blue skyling...
cool, nrkii--i am at 1409, so that is helpful
I never get nervous choosing colors feather -- you can always paint over it!
oh, blue skyling sounds cool!
feather--where in NY are you? I went to school in and lived in Albany for a while
I've been very brave with color ever since I went from apartment to house. I'm going to paint my living room dark pink!
that's true! or i can sponge over to mute it
I think that was the clue I asked for before.I did not stick around for the answers since I was distracted.
oooooooh!
i'm near binghamton pam...and college in plattsburgh
sc 7/32 is what you put over windows to keep the bugs out (aplural of the se 6/21)
sc 7 32 is either where you watch movies...
or it's a child's ride-on toy or motorbike, minus an O
plural
feather--nice country
ok, got 39 words earlier on a break, time to get serious about finding words
Pam, I'm guessing you want a 5/12 and a 6/21...
wow. i only have one co. that's sad.
yeah, i am thinking the same thing, nrkii
and a hunting I shall go...
hardest co: co + not just a min, but just a *** (shorter time) and plural for another
co5/14-- co+ i/60 of a minute
lib, gmta
ooo, thanks guys!
yes, nrkii:)
I am sorry I can't stay on longer. didn't sleep well last night (decongestant kept me awake) and fading fast. See you all tomorrow...

next hardest, college co*****, minus the U (not classes, but co*****)
i seem to be back for more - hi!
night stid!
hi ping!
hi, ping!
Min, there is one that is like the movie sc****, minus the last letter
I have the one that means to earn points in a game.
OMG, i can not believe what I did not ever enter
i to go
there is another Min, that is disdain, change last letter of your points-in-a-game one
hi lib, feather, pam, stid, min, nrkii

bye nrkii
Bye nrkii! Have a good evening! Thanks for the clues!
i have 12 to go - maybe a typo?
I have one to go

Thanks! Pass me a fish. I was a moron on that word!
she had dark hair for part of the movie...
Krista, think revenge of the ne5/10, change one letter
yes, she was blonde, then dark, then blonde again
but those eyebrows!
way stacked, too!
nrkii was telling a story earlier about her dad's memory of the movie - that seem memorable to him too
tippi hedren pales in comparison; sorry, lana!
lol, ping, do tell!
wasn't tippi married to hitchcock?
no...
Hi all! No she wasn't, but her daughter is Melanie Griffith!
AGHHH...ty Harpjane..had tried that word, just not with the s on the end. Go figure.
hich had an "ordinary" wife-- one daughter...
glad to hep out
well, nrkii said her dad's memory was of jimmy stewart rescuing kim novak from drowning in san francisco bay by grabbing her by the double d's (quoting)

Hi all! I've been lurking all evening, and your hints have been fantastic. I have 4 left, all Tr--any help? Thanks!
de5/12, means thick headed? kind of "dim"
which tr's do you need?
there is a Christmas Tr**, add onto that twice for 2 diff words, one consonant each, then plural one for another word
tr+ double vowel: past tense; switch last letter to "N"; plural that; a tr + THE ***; tr + E>T>; tr+ out, drop the "U"
jai, what a pretty flower! and while looking at it, i read your profile...so what does jaianniah mean?
Duh, sorry. Te's are what I need--te6/18, 5/12, 6/21, and one lone er6/18
The puzzle has scrambled my brain!
i'm missing that ER too, fuzzy
te 4/4 + either *
er6/18, e + ro4/4, the prickly thorned flower, then plural it
Jaianniah means :God's Grace" which is lovely- ironically, it is the meaning of my biological name- Jeannie. (Jean= God's Gracious Gift) But don't tell my name to anyone!
Thanks, Cat. Dont' know how I missed the plural
shhh, secret's safe with me!
cat9x, i'm missing the ER 5 just after that one - do you have it?
2 te6/18, once is what you feel when tou are overworked and tired, the other, change the last vowel in the word to another vowel
hey, jean!!!
te 5/10 shorten the 7/28
te 5/12 + anagram of rec
te 5/12 + anagram of recs
te 5/12 + anagram of rec and then plural it
er5/10, just drop the O from the clue I just gave you

What do yuo need, Bam?
hi, bam!
oooh, lib, now you're close enough for a challenge for me
go feather go!
lol ping
uh-oh
the lastsc7/32vis pl of sc6/21
or4/4 means leftovers bambam, change second to last consonant of the or4/5
Bambam, or4/4 is a anagram of sorts minus one consonant
What I really appreciate is all the help ya'll gave me answering my questions about how to actually play the game and how to understand the "codes"!!!!!!
ne4/4 is a hawaiian goose, same two letters repeated twice
Good clue, fuzzy. In my book or4 means fragments
ne5/10 is a slang expletive derived from "nuts!"
ty, fran!
yw lib!
oh, brooklyn nuts!
thanx fran, fuzzy and hetty.... i'm not getting the last ne5,10 (i don't know many %$**& expletives)
for ne5/10 add an N at the beginning of last er4/4 and switch the last two letters
ne5/10 reminds one of breath mints
computer geeks w/ a t
nerst
ooh, good one hetty!
now switch the last two letters
just change the "c" to "n"
transpose, bam!
oops! thanks guys i'm done
ready with fireworks!!

bambam - this first time was a mistake, now i just do it on purpose cause i think it's funny :)
plural of tr5/10
a nice slip of the tongue, yes
the 5/10 is what a cat is sometimes but change last consonant
tr6/18 is people aged 13-19, with a consonant stuck in them.
that's a good one fuzzy!

Night all, this has been fun!
andree, te7/28 is most te5/10
night pam!!
te6/18 is a type of muscle, sounds like more te5/10, but change last vowel to O
te7/28 is the very most reticent
te5/10 is plural of camping shelter (te4/4)

would anyone be so kind as to give clues for ne4/4 and ne5/10? I scrolled back but my log doesn't go far enough back to reflect anything of that nature
ne4/4 please?
Thanks for a fun night, everyone. I'm off now, but I'll be back under my own user name later.
ne4/4 is when you don't just want something, you ne** it

te5/10--the duck is feminine
one of them is the plural of a sea bird; one of them is an adjective meaning "short, or clipped"
andree, is it the plural of the sea bird?
or it could be the sea bird plus an E

Fried green tomatoes are awesome Fran, I grew upw ith southern cooking, both parents from the south.
i never tried them, too picky, but they smelled good
my Mom and Dad fried everything!
Hi. I'm only missing 2 words. They are the co5,12 and the co6,21 right in the middle of the list. I believe they are the ones right below the plural of the yellow starchy vegetable. Does anyone have them please?
remove the O from what you take in school, what your class schedule would be called. Then plural it
oops, meant remove the U
co + bits of minutes
Or, minski, think what grandma wore to cinch her waist and take off the "t"
Ohhh even better Hetty!
flosey's clue is for the next couple of co's, which may be what you need

i need the last de4/5?
think old time Minski, like what they used to cinch the waist, like for ZVictorian dresses
sorry, phone call, didn't mean to ignore the fried food conversation especially since i love fried foods!!!

Minski, do you want girl or boy vibes? :) Read your profile.

the de7 is the suprlative of the de54 above it
DE7 is superlative and you will feel that way for asking.

i saved my feather for later, but wanted to have some fun with the icon
good movie choice nrk! now i want to change.
I figured I'd go vintage chick-flick for this (though not TOO vintage)
27 left...i give up.
been too busy watchin "Braveheart"...gotta love that Mel Gibson!!! ahh...dreamy!!! ;) ;)
9 to 5 was awesome
Braveheart, not so much a chick-flick, lol
yeah, 9 to 5 set the stage for movies like Thelma and Louise, I think... in its own way
no....not a chikflik....but...equally as enthralling a film
okay, i've changed for tomorrow too
actually, what am I saying -- braveheart is a chicks flick, if not a chick-flick... after all, it's mel
there is a bit of romance to appeal to our female wiles...but...the violence is less than appealling.
oh, easy fran! i knew just from the pic!

hi everyone - just wanted to say hello 1
hey debb!
cathy, i'm totally with you on Mel by the way!!
night nrkii and featherbee
debb, did you play today? i don't remember seeing you earlier
i played this morning (los angeles time ) - and finished without looking at clues - i mean i used lickety's list - but now chatterbox clues
hey, i did that too!
:-)
i try to do that every day, sometimes there are words that are just tooo hard to find without help
exactly! and getting help from everyone is fun....i was proud i didn't look at clues - but realized i missed everyone
that's why i still come on!
You young women are very important in my life now.
I want you to know I lve your chat, tho I seldom join in
thanks hetty! i don't feel so young though.
So please keep coming back, debbinia
husband just came home with food, talk to you all later!
hetty - please join in !!! (and i'm not that young either)
bye fran!
the first two to's (to 4/5 and to 5/12) anyone?
i am down to 8 words
Well, there's a culture gap as well as an age one, so I don't always know what or whom you are discussing. For intance, I know who melk is, but I've never watched one of his movies, so I have nothing to contribute. Just like to listen (as it were)
since I'm stumped, have also changed for tomorrow
good choice of icon, nrkii!
nice one, fran!
How many words total?
119 elf
119, elf
snap, debbinla. Now, do YOU know what that means?
29 I still haven't gotten then. Any words with double n's, double r
or double t's?
lol hetty!!
28 I still haven't gotten now. :-D
no double n's or double r's some double e's (lots)
one double"s"
no, 2 duble s's
go Elf go! just stopping by for a moment to see how folks are...
no 4 double s's Why am I doing this/
5 that I've found.
LOL hetty - ou can't stop !
Add an 'e' onto the cr 5/12 with a double s.
Could be, Elf. Frankly I don't count letters. Should I?
i count 5 wrds with double S
Oh clever Stid. Is this acontest?
dunno, but i was disappointed to find no double N words
Up to 94 words now. How many other things can I type in and find out they're actual words?
i was surprised that 1/3 of the puzzle wasn't used !
Yes, stid. I was sure there was a tenner there till l began typing
yes debb, that was unusual
Keep trucking,Elf.
always find the last 20 go really fast. Can I help?
go Elf go!
fireworks!!! first time ever!!
YIPEE FOR RAYGODDESS !!! WTG
TY!!!
JOY bugles for raygoddessYAYYYY!
ro4/5?
yay, ray!

TY! fravel without the k
o4/5 has lost a letter for what (pl) lies the other side of the hard place
gravel without the k

ro 4/5 = mythical bird.
A giant mythical bird.

and anagrammatic with or 4/5
nice word hetty!
sorry, got distracted. YAY Raygoddess!
had missed that! ty, hetty :)
Now dont laugh at me, but I'm going into the hot tub now to cool off.
yikes ! hope it does the trick ;-)
it has been a warm day today, hasn't it, hetty? We got above 90 here.
Same here-25 C. Am now stripped and about to plunge. See you at the flip
Hi all -- yes, stid and hetty, lovely warm day here at last. I had a refreshing swim in the sea -- first time this year but not the last!
well, hot cup of tea works, so why not hot tub
hi flosey
hi jilli
hello again flosey, hi Jill! enjoy your dip, hetty!
very proud of my 70 words today - still much to learn about these words
Good for you, flosey -- keep at it!
good for you, flosey! do you want any help to get more?
how can one stop now !!!
thanks stid, don't really know where to begin
that's the spirit, flosey! LOL are you using one of the lists to help you find the words?
You have almost an hour left, flosey - stid's a great helper and I'll try too -- finished before lunch today
you're doing great with 70 !
have tried lickety
amazing jilli
really need to learn more in order to know what to ask
I use everything available and the AtoZ lists on lickety's page are a BIG help
okay, the first thing I do with Lickety's list is see if I have all the words in any category. for example, today there were 15 CO words...
ok, i have 12 of them
will check it out
I discovered that if I enter the words into the "add word" box at the top of Lickety's page, they automatically go into the correct place in his list... which lets me know which words I still need.
i try to do 1/2 or more without licketys list - then i plug them all in (which lickety has made very easy) and then theres tons more you can just figure out
I need a clue for my last word coming off the third t in the middle column. I have the following already - tr4/4 (both),tr5/12 (both),tr5/10,tr6/18. Any clues would be much appreciated!
great thanks for the suggestions
unfortunately I have to stop now but will use these tomorrow
esquian - what a beautiful baby!!
we'll see you tomorrow flosey! have a lovely evening.
thanks, debbinla! :) I think so! :)
ditto what debb just said...
thanks everyone
thanks, too, stidmama!
Isn't this great, flosey? See you at bridge
esquian, I am trying to figure out which words you might be missing....
It's only one. I have 6 of the 7 and I'm assuming it starts with tr...
there are three tr 4/4 off that letter, esquian.
I think you are missing the intersection of the other two tr 4/4...
It looks like the gait of a horse only with a different vowel.
THANK YOU, STIDMAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got it!
*grin*
That one's been driving me crazy for a good 10 minutes now
next puzzling query?
Jill -- did you have a nice, quiet day since you didn't have to be at the gallery? I realized, with the age of some of the photos on your son's site that he must be around my parents' ages...
I could use a hint for a word coming off the n at the top of the second column from the right... I assume it's an ne word. I have one, but don't have the other.
brb bedtime kisses needed...
okay, there is a redunant ne word (repetitious?) ne 4/4
Thanks, stid, I did. My little boy is now an unbelieveable 57, but he doesn't look it. It was all so hectic I didn't ake any pix of the gang but may email you one form a coupe of years ago at Christmas
it is NOT a palindrome, I musta tryed that for a gazillion times before I figured it out!
pardon my lack of grammar knowledge....what's a palindrome again?
My cousin who is visiting with his mother is 57! he's actually my mother's first cousin.
palindrome reads the same backwards and forwards
I sae earlier that the ne4?4 is a Hawaiian goose
I can hardly believe any of us are "getting on" in so many years... seems since my birthday I notice stuff like that!
got it! Thanks
oh, that's right, Jill -- it's been in the grid several times since I started, but I never remember what it means.
My typing isn't getting any better, moan!
OK...gotta get to bed. It's 12:20 on the east coast. Thanks for the clues! Have a good one, all.
gnight esquian !
good night esquian!
Nite, esquian
I dropped out for a moment there... the galoot of a dog wanted to play babble too! LOL
hints for co 6/21 and 6/24 and 5/12?
Oh, the doggy memories! If my dear old Imp (the Gt Dane) were here I know he'd be pushing his head under my arm as I type.
Any all-constanant words in this puzzle?
27 wds left and only 36 mins to get em!!! i
no Elf -- kierlex -- which co 6/21, do you know?
go Cathy go!
go cath!
I'm done....off to bed ;)
Looks like I'm ending at 96 words then, I'
the first co 6/21 is the trumpet-like horn. right before that is the type of beef that we irish eat for St Paddy's day (6/24)
*I'm tapped out.
Wow, Cath! that was superfast!
ahh got those 2, thanks for the clues they were great
after the horn is the plural of the second co 4/5, then drop the fourth letter and end with the second vowel for another 5/12, then plural that for another 6/21
good night Cath ---
i just got all 119 words for the first time... isn't something supposed to happen then?
Elf, I understand. You made really good progress today!
no....not done as in fireworks...but done...tired...goin to dream of Mel Gibson in Braveheart!.....ahhhh lovely dreams.
cheeto, I think you need to go pro to get the FIREWORKS you deserve!
then comes a 5/14 that is a math term: co +abbreviation for small unit of time (1/60 of a minute), then plural for the next 6/24
Aha, 97! Trumpet-like horn indeed. And thanks, stidmama.
Cath - where in Canada are you?
that stinks. that was my first solve ever.
the last two co 5/12 are the plural of the flower so common in June only start with a C; and then plural the "price" word for the last CO 5/12
cheeto44 -- we used to give finishers our own. >~>~>~>~>FIREWORKS<~<~<~<~<~
what is the first co 5/12? ya'll are too dang fast for slow old moi
well done *~*~*cheeto44*~*~*
the first co 5/12 is plural the second co 4/5: a large grain also known as maize
kier - sore spots on your toes for the first co5/12 I think
oh -- clued like one who knows, Jill! LOL one of my grandmother suffered from those. not fun at all.
ok i have all the co's thank you very much! now about the cr... (except the cr5/14)
the cr 7 mean "believing"
phantom word of the day - corset
cr 7: cr + vowel + a "ding" in a car
my phantom was "cosset" for some strange reason (not even sure what it means, but kept trying it!)
me too, stid!
thanks stid...
then two spellings for a line that goes over another one for the 5/12 and 6/21 (the 6 adds a vowel ot the 5)
melon, take the "t" off and t's not phasntom at all!Back all drippy, everyone
hi hetty! cooler now?
Cool, hetty?
jeez, they are so obvious once you point them out. dorky dorky kierlex
not dorky, dear! just working at it a bit late!
Stid, to cosset is to indulge with fussy parental or marital care--to spoil, over-nurture
my last word as the or 4/5 that is the non-human badguys in Lord of the Rings...
Cooler, yes. Cool, no
Oh, to be cosseted!
oh -- no wonder I didn't know it! Never had that around here... LOL
nobody can cosset a mom it seems =( (said as a harried frazzled mommy of 2)
it seems to me ,Stid ,you were grateful for the cosseting you got from Tom yesterday. You seem fine again today, I'm glad to note.
okay, I admit it. Tom makes up for any hard times I had in my previous life -- or the three pervious incarnations as well!
kierlex, how are you doing on the words? need any more help/'
oh i need 27 more... i just stopped for doritos
Actually, kier, the time will come when you DO receive and it's wonderful whenit happens
*munch munch* I think I am ready for a snack of some sort myself!
i saw cosset too
single-mommin's hard too, kierlex
yes, kierlex, the older the kids get, the more they "repay" in diverse and amusing ways for all the love and care.
well, my hubby is not a cossetting kind of guy so i will have to cosset myself =)
(i speak from experience)...
ohlord i really admire single moms because it is quite an adventure with 2 parents but at least you can get a break if necessary (like tonight when my hubby made me go downstairs to escape because i was being CUJO MOMMY)
kierlex, if you ever come to this side of our mountains, I will be happy to cosset you as much as you can stand. you too, Cathy -- I have single-mommy friends and admire them so much.
and, kier, I had a hubby who cosseted me no end and I miss him
oh i'm sorry jillibus =(
My grandad, bless his soul, was gentle and loving -- like my Tom. We all miss him, too.
and we are all one big happy cosseted and cosseting family--hooray for us
s'okay kier. Time marches on
hey...jill...where did papa go?
actua;;y kierlex, as a divorced mommi with shared parenting, i can tell you married couples ought to try joint custody ;)
Jill -- {{{hug}}}
which is to say at least now i have every tuesday nite off
melonhead, my hubby and i have often joked aboutthat... kind of like 'hey! you'd get one week to yourself and then i'd get one week to myself! awesome!'
Cath - papa went to a Better World, I hope!
ok...i
I ant you sll to know that on this isalnd were there are many mant=y spunky widows jilli is one of the spunkiest
Thanks stid -- return {{{{hug}}}}
i'm sorry jill
17 minutes left, my figners are starting to miss the kyes... anyone want clues while I am still coherent?
or would that be legerent? hetty? what's the term for writing understandably (as opposed to legibly)
oh i am not even paying attention to the grid =)
coherent
*hugs* to all who hurt in Babbleland. And to all who struggle.... (most of the world I think)
when married i said i'd two out of 3 every night - cook, clean up & put the kidlets to beddy-bye - 3 out of 3 really got my goat. soem guys are just "off duty" when they get home. actually, the ex is a devoted dad - now that he has to - but we could not parent together.
I do that a lot kierlex-- the chat is what keeps me coming back. :-)
damn i am tired of looking at alfred hitch,
I think it might be lisible fromthe french, stid
I changed mine a while ago, but you might need to refresh to see it!
98 words! *squeezes out another drop*
Eager for the flip -- I think -- although probably won't have time to finish even if it's a little one - busy day and MUST have a swim again
well my hub works nights and odd shifts so that messes things up, too

have there been any recent additions to the Babble store? I need to drop by and check that and the myers-briggs thingy.
i just shared that because i am really itchy right now by the way. blah blah blah
oh -- I am often the first to get bit as well. Worst of course when I have been eating a lot of sweets... (which is 98% of the time)
er, what's an MJCL? <dopey look>
there's a babble store?
