I was just answering a question when the flip so rudely interrupted, saying Britborns likem me pronounced squirrel "squi" and in "quintessential, then a roll of te r, then a definite "e" sound before the "l" i(n other words 2 separate syllables)

hi firefly
yep, squirrel nutkin
thx LA! :) hi mymuse!
this grid looks scary...i have a phobia for the ones with the Qu tile and too many vowels :O
at least the q's aren't bad, firefly, i finished those already
i agree LA - they're not bad at all
yeah, i can usually get them, i just get this awkward feeling with Qu grids, that's all - but i'm a little different... lol
i know, it feels like the grid is cheating if there's a qu in the middle of a word
and . . . . . . flip!
uh... helen?
hi helen
*whispers* you're a bit late ;)
lol leslie --- shhhhhhhh!
lol - hi helen

Better late than never, Helen
lol - hiya arb!
hi, all!
hi melon
hiya melon!
hey melon
Melon, I played cello in high school -- many a decade ago
wow, a fan club ;)
cool, ARB - any of your kids play?
One daughter played for the year before we made aliyah (35 years ago last month)
She was 10 years old and even the 3/4 cello was a bit big for her, but she loved the sound.
35 years ago - wow. how did you decide to make aliyah? a lifelong dream?
my nephew started on cello - his teacher is my stand partner - she's the string teacher at his school.
he's small for 10, has a 1/2 size - his mo is stunned that he sits still long enough to play, active as he is.
Bunch of things, including the agonies of Northern California in the wake of the Hippie movement of the late 60's .
Even beginner cello sounds not bad, if the kid is bold enough to bow it
California. funny how one will develop a mental picture - no matter how wrong-headed - i think of olim as coming from the east coast!
true - cellos don't screech.
We were midwesterners who moved to Marin county in 58 (brought a little Yiddishkeit) .
you've been everywhere!

I checked -- it's somekind of scientific phenomenon named after him.
einsteinium is an element, isn't it?
yea
ah, another 7 - su/32
hk, yes, hk, it is - that would be quite a word, too - but a rather vowelly grid.

LOL matty, it's a good grid today.
My daughter's getting 'married' today. She's 15...
significance of yr post is lost on me Im afraid
That's why I'm off today - her school stages a year 10 mock wedding, and she's the bride...

Morning Ata, How were the Proms?
wonderful! beautiful music though the RAH was as hot as hell
Morning ata!
I bet it was, did you fit the V & A in too?
yup :) got a good 2 hours or so wandering round there and remembering how much I love it there
morning matty!
Heya - you should have come for drinks to SW London!
next time! it was so bloody hot that we just collapsed onto a train as soon as possible!
Actually, babbling in bed isn't as comfortable as you might think...
*sounds* like a great idea though ...
Does, doesn't it lol. I should get up soon - showered etc. Sarah's wedding's at around 2.00
I wish I had a hat. With feathers. And fruit.
thank goodness its not so hot today then! weddings and uber heat don't go so well
Even mock weddings.
Not so hot!! It's blooming roasting already and humid too.
I'm not too hot a the moment - I was very hot last night, thoguh.
mock weddings??
Sarah's 15.
awwwwwwwwww!
She's got a dress and everything - I'll take pictures!
thats too cute!
7 bridesmaids, singers, vicar - the works. It's for RE or summut. One of the singer's mums has even hired Sarah a wedding car! (More money than sense, methinks)
wow! that's fancier than my real wedding!
Mine too! I got married in Hounslow Registry Office LOL. Exactly halfway through, and may need to resort to the list. Or shower and dress - it's a toss up.
list!
Ha!
Before I go list, can anyone give a wee tiny hint on the eight?
anyone have sp5,12?

I've arrived just in time to say congratulations FMItch!
Congrats F! Have fun. You mean, At, the shhhhh word?
Not qute shh...but hey, you...
Hi haz
Good morning all. The site seems to be working for me today.
Good morning Haz, you made it today!
I did indeed. I finally managed to get on yesterday evening, got the grid finished and then was booted off again. Was it something I said?
I wonder if I can get six more words for my 100 before I get in the shower...
It was a strange babble day yesterday, glad you made it though.
It wasn't a grid to make you pleased with life, that's for sure. This one looks happier.
It is, when you find a word try all the available ending and most of the time they take.
The time they take?
most of the time the word is accepted
I'll bear that in mind. I've only just noticed that po4/6 as in Victoria Beckham is sh4/6 (as in retail therapy) the wrong way round. Any connection, do you suppose?
Oooohhhh
Right - back later.
Bye matty, see you later.
Hello everyone!
bye matty :)
Hello Preethi!
hi preethi
HI Haz, marso
how many words in the grid today?
152 today Preethi
cool. me at 41. how many 8 or 9 letter words?
only 1 x 8 today and is a pl of a 7 6 x qu words and 2 that use the qu in them.

Thanks Haz. Got them
For one glorious moment I thought I had found the so8, but sourpuss isn't there!

host
I shall think dirty then.
oops....sorry....good job I can't stay !!!

Strange grid ... no a words and lots of e tiles, but not many words beginning with one. Oggy, are there clues for those 7's?
good morning...i get the earh part but not the trap part.....clearer clue?
bman take the last letter off the word you have and start the second part of the word with it...
You're ahead of me. I don't even have the earth part yet.
Angh, got it....thanks and got a seven letter word in the process...
Hello again...
Hi Maaty
hi matty...welcome

i need clues for pl 6/21 se 7/32 please
Thanks mags...
yw matty
pl6.21 - is a tool, and se7.32 is not silly.
pl 4 = ballet move pl5= ballet move plural pl6 = common toolwhich builds on pl 4
heh, Jen. The first time I read your clue, I thought it said "se7.32 is not, silly" and I thought "well that's not very helpful...
TY Kateq - I just got about a dozen words after those clues
need the other 6/21. have the tool.
lol, Takuma. :D
PL 6.21 - I think it is a fabric - build on ' 'taking the **** out of some-one' (hope that isn't too rude for you)
the other pl 6/21 is an anagram of the pl 5 (plural) with an extra s one of those "no entry" in the dictionary words
hi everybody!
Good morning, Fran
i need one more word, does someone have a clue for po7/32, the first one?
hi Fran :)
hi marso, takuma!
the first one means having to do with a particular kind of lyrical activity
it is a little used word--literary rhyming
and it is a plural
(plural)
the singular form ends in the sometimes vowel and is not in the puzzle
heh, I just wanted to make darn sure you knew it was plural
Greetings, everyone!!!!!!!

mm, it's like the plural for a kind of flower, with an additional vowel in the middle
edgar allen P** plural + the plural for words ending in the sometimes vowel
Got it, ty all......
takuma, the 8 is so8/45
it's plural of the so7/32

yw chiley!
ok, now I have to figure out your clue for the so7/32
I agree, Fran, I saw Ice Age 2 a few months back, and I thought, "Will Scrat EVER get that blasted acorn?!!!!".......
Soiling or the condition of being soiled. A blot, stain, or smudge.
sorry, didn't mean to post that with the word in it!!!
MM, does that mean there's going to be an Ice Age 3?
wow! I just put in a ps4 for fun and didn't even expect it to be a word!
chiley, that was the definition of the so7/32!
wow...I'll try to sneak that into conversation today
good job carrie!
help on the ru 6/21 please?
Kate--think of rowdier kids
katie, more ru**, usually used in un version, ru6/21 is moreso
TY Carrie!

Hi! Seems fairly fast today, although I'll no doubt get stuck towards the end.
Magzel: po5/14 & 6/24 - a/k/a decants (and then past tense).
Magzel - rather one who decants. not past tense. duh on me.
Judi, is that for the po at the start of the list?
Charm - those are the only po5/14 & 6/24 I have. Haven't looked at the list yet.
po5 = p + lubricate + vowel. po6 is pl.
any hints for the top i or the e under the qu?
ed4/6 = only one possible combo for that bablet. it's a pl, too.

I'm going to try and shock the server into behaving better. So there will be a brief downtime starting in a few minutes. It should only take around 10 minutes for the surgery.
ru6/24 = ru4/6 + 2 vowels. ru7 is pl. During ru** week at colleges, students visit frats/sororities to see which they want to join.

the first po7? then I'm outahere
my word list is gone.
po 7 is po6/23 plural
pdb, try refreshing
sorry po 6/21 plural...that is
there are two po7/32. i have the plural one. What's the other, please? (very first po word)
Yeah, I did. Well, this makes it more of a challenge!
Hello again gang
don't know, anyone else? I could use it too.
hm, interesting glitch for you pdb!
Well, luckily I have NaN+ hours left, according to the screen.
i have one 4 letter word left.. so 4.5
Therre are times being a po**ry nut pay boff. The first po7 is pl of the art of po****. Use a snake
Misu, rhymes with hops?
I keep losing connection, too. Yet my internet connection still says "excellent"
got that one
Misu - what Campbell's makes?
got the ones that rhyme with whole and tower
Oops, sorry, that's 4/6
Misu, mmm, mmm, good....that's what Campbells so** is
I meant so** patch kids - my favorite candy!
What the h***! People do hourlies, don't they? You know, a report every 60 minutes.
I'm still baffled by the po7... the art of po****??
i don't get the first po7 clue. another one please
po7- the act of spilling a drink into a glass
po7- people who have lots of calmness and stage-presence have po***
PO5/12 - she recieved the award w/po*** and dignity. So she was a po****. Two of her would be the plural
jai, that's not the first po7
I know, I clued them both...
Does the art of po*** have to do with verse?
i still don't get the first po7,32 the very first po word
there are 3 po7, have we had clues for all 3?
It's another word for the po**ry you're thinking of ..
No- it sorta ryhmes with voice"
I have two po7s... are there more than two?
i have 3
I have putting in a glass, (7/36) and people who have grace (7/32)
Edgar Allan ..
po5- is to have stage-presence- po 6 is one who demonstrates this- po6 is pl. the 5
Roc can you clue the third?
I finally got the very first po7, sounds like a boquet of flowers
im outtahere
Po** for a picture, add thrid vowel after "oh"
Got booted off again!
ahhhhh I got it!
Now play with endings...
I had tried it without the final consonant, the French word for verse, and it wasn't accepted so I didn't try the plural
And I forgot that there was the po7 that is the bouquet...
Done, done & done!!!!!!! Now I can go back to NOT enjoying the bloody heatwave!!!!!!!!!!
Hooray, Movieman!$%$%$%$%$BOOM!
WTG movieman!
congrats MM and yes it is too hot and humid today :(
congratulations movieman!
i may be missing some of the clues, but I still need the first po7,32 word the one before the person writing verse
just got it
KMS, think a "pocketful of po****" and insert the second vowel
By the way, bostonmermaid, they say that most of the hot weather came over from La France, so how was it for you?
This is too tough, not having a word list. With 29 to go, I'm taking a break. Perhaps my word list will return to me later.....
po7 bouquet of flowers, old-fashioned word
pdh have you tried F5 refreshing?
that took care of that P. now i can work from the other one
Movieman, I'm actually in New Hampshire this summer, so I can't say... but it has been VERY hot here in New England!
Hurray, FMitch! I had refreshed and signed off and back on, but F5 worked.
it's been too hot to Babble, too hot to eat, too hot to move, to hot to kiss my beloved...
bostonmermaid, has it been anywhere close to 97/98 degrees F?
Boston, thats pretty hot
We hit 100 on Tues
i have friends here from aus...they cant believe it gets this hot in the uk
I'm sure we've hit 100... today's not so bad though
F5 solve a lot of the more common issues in babble land :)
I've felt like a zombiemermaid
We also hit 100 on Tuesday in Baltimore. Or maybe Monday. All the hot days are blending together in my mind.
Actually, Jai, the p7/32 is the art of po**** (po4 made into the art form) pluralized, has nothing to do with flowers.
yeah, they do that
That's global warming for you, Rolin (either that, or by some strange quirk of fate, the whole country has been moved a 1000 miles or so closer to the equator)......LOL
yes pdb, the days blend together, you forget what day it is, you forget what your last name is... you just park yourself in front of the fan and pray
how does tile stats work?
... and I don't have any aircon or a fan boohoo!! hana - they tellyou how many words starting with that letter com from each tile - Talke a look at Angelsongs resource page un Friends of Babble, lots of info there.
lol, mermaid. Dealing with heat = a religious experience
lol..movieman...actually ppl at work have said the same thing...theyre quite pleased with it..
urgh, fingers sticking to the keyboard
FMitch - you don't want air conditioning, you'll just get the hot air from outside coming in.......
ooooohh...you brits dont know how to deal with the heat....lol..
Po"s: po7/32- group of flowers; 2. writer of poems 4/5 3. po5/14 po+ third vowel + nickname for Louise 4. plural it for 6/24 5. 4/5 po+ commonest verb It ** green 6. add second vowel for 5/12 having grace 7. add "are" 6/21 8. plural that for 7/32 9. plural the # 6 grace word 10. very luxurious, slang po** 4/6 11. mail a letter at the po** office 4/5 12. to move water into a glass 4/6 13. one who movws water- add suffix 6/24 14. plural it 7/32 15. pl. 5/14 of #12
How long have you been living over here then, rolin?
take a tip from an aussie...at night open all your windows...let the heat out...then tomorrow morning..if its gonna be the same as today...close every window...pull the curtains...and keep everything shut down until the air outside starts to cool again...
LOL... Brits don't know how to deal with the SNOW!!!
That's 'cos we hardly get any, bostonmermaid!!!!!!!
about 7.30pm has been the time to open up again...
about 7.30pm has been the time to open up again...
movieman.. 4.5 years
I was in Wales one winter when they got a *dusting* of snow, not even a half-inch... and I watched in amusement as the entire country plunged into paralysed hysteria... no one would drive, the shops all closed, flights were delayed...
It's 'cos we're not used to it, boston.......that's why the whole county goes apeshit......
im missing a q... i have q5/16 x 3...6/27 and 6/30
They have occasionally closed schools here before any snow actually falls - just the anticipation of snow.
you could barely *see* the snow on the pavement, and it had snowed for all of 20 minutes... but for the next three days my hosts and I had to huddle inside and just hope the phones were working and our food would last...
very amusing for a New England girl!
Clue for Li4/5 and Li5/12, please?
need 7/44 past tense of "hush"
I know, movieman... I'm very fond of you lot, too :)
thx jai...
You are a quck cluer, jaianniah!
in li** of, instead of l+ three vowels
rolin - past tense of the first qu 5
Thank you, jaianniah. Can't believe I didn't see that. Must be the heat.
TY< PDB! Try to help as I can! :o)))
I'm off for a while. Going to slip into a little lunch.
Jai, I love your indefdatigable cluing and find your list most helpful--however may I please correct you on the first po7/32?
Is Lickety's List not up?
Sure, Hetty- I am NOT perfect by any means!
Lickety posted shortly after flip time I think.
What should the clue be, Hetty? I will edit...
how many UK dwellers do we have here right now?
what's likety's list?
me
*Waving* in mermaids direction
Well, there's me boston......
that's 1
2, 3...
and me
Just in the intrerest f definition, the first po7/32 had nothing to do with flowers. It's the plural of the term for the art of poetry, which--were the top left corner letter were a "y "instead of an "rwoukd be recognizable Hebrew fashion, reading fom right to left along the top row of letters. --yw
come on, everyone from the UK, raise the roof! or curtsy!
Roc, one of the links below the stats has a list of clues- called Lickety's Babble clues- gives a lot of help
4...
Am in the UK Boston
Looking at who's online there are very few of us today
the omnipresent Dr God is a Brit, right? so that's 5...
Dr God is an Aussie, I believe
Roc, lickety's list is at the bottom of this page right click on the link and hit open to another page, it is a list for today's grid that show first two letters and the values
i bet some have melted..
speaking of snow (well, you were) - snow in BC is very different from that in Quebec or New England. Here it's greasy and much more slippery so an inch or two is much more paralysing -- besides, roads don't get cleared quickly as they do in real snow country
hey that's handy
I'm here in the UK :o)
Dr_G is from America!!
YEP!! Go Roc!
Terms about po**ry are very peculiar-- for example the craft of the po** is called "prosody"--go figure
that's true jilli...
How ironic- poetry is not prose.....
ok so not Dr God... but Michharv is 5
yes, jilli, but snowmin Sakatchewan--my other Canadian home-- is dry and powdery most of the time
yes, jilli, but snowmin Sakatchewan--my other Canadian home-- is dry and powdery most of the time
OK guys - back from the 'wedding of the year' (ok, mock wedding, but there you go) refresh and check out my icon - that's my daughter!

Flask to decide on something
flask -- prefered, chose... "i op5 out of the non-required portion of the test"
I just typed in the last 4 letters in the bottom row, and it's a word!

Cya gramma ..
nnc
okay, I *think* I only need about 50 words, but I was working on the board away from the computer, so I'm not sure
ok - I need the so word - saw a clue about fish and dirt but it got me nowhere....
sorry, not there yet cadfan
If there's only one so word, then a fish clue related to it would be boulobaise. (or however that's spelt.)
cadfan- so 7/32. dirt + to attract someone
why is hourlies not recognized? I have 4 hourlies that work for me!
(oh boy, the more I look, the more so- words I see...)
gonna have to think a while.. finally got the dirt part though
Vicuna, t here are 2 so 7/32 and one so 7/28
I have the 7/28 - working on the others....
actually, i'm a liar- there is one so 7/32 and one so 7/28
the other...
LOL
Thanks, abe. I made the mistake of offerring clues before getting very far myself. I have all those now. :)
i've reached a total standstill in getting more words, so i figured i'd help out with 7's
Plus the 8 which is pl of the 7/32, CadFan.
vic, i love your squirrel!
Thanks, feather. I know how he feels! Is yours for real? Can you really catch squirrels on a line? I'll have to try some time!
hee, google search the phrase "squirrel fishing" and you'll see where it came from
sometimes one truly does make things too difficult for one's self. Not me, mind you, but some. ROTFL
Hello, all. just stopping by.
Hello, Charm. Happy Birthday!
Oh, oops. not happy birthday, Happy anniversary of joining!
I need help with the is5/10 folks. Thanks.
Why, thank you, Vic! I had to look at my own profile to see what you were talking about. lol
is5/10 - is + first three letters of machine to measure earthquakes. (It means a Japanses immagrant.)
(Holy moly, my typing is atrocious. But I think it's all decipherable.)
thanks muchly vicuna - got it. Sheesh I knew that word in any case...
It doesn't matter, Vic. I read somewhere that we don't read each letter; so long as the 1st and last letters are correct, we can understand.
Feather, are you still here?
yup
Now that you mention it, I must have seen that same thing, Charm. But my typing does not always spare first and last letters!
i've seen that first and last letter thing before! a whole paragraph messed up, but readable
We were talking the other day about authors, and LK Hamilton in particular. A couple of others you might like are Lynn Viehl and JR Ward. I suggest Ward with reservations because she gives her characters' names unnecessarily silly spellings and sometimes her writing doesn't flow. But she has created an interesting alt. universe.
oh, cool! yeah, i tend to glaze over odd names. if i can't pronounce it, i make something up
It's sometimes funny to find out how people pronounce their own Babble names, since I often have been thinking something completely different in my head.
I thought a vicuna was a kind of animal (a fox?)? Or am I just in a world of my own?
It is an animal. It's related to a llama. But I was responding to feather's comment on the names of characters in books.
yeah, we were talking once about nrkii's name, and general agreement was we say "nerkie" in our minds
I think of it as nerkie-eye.
hehe!
hey - help with the pl 6/21? (the one in the middle; not the tool)
my better half says my log name sounds like cadaver...oh dear...
sorry eagle, don't have yet
i have it, will clue momentarily
Don't worry, davuers. I wouldn't have thought of that. ... But I will now! :)
(Sorry, mistyped davurs.)
p + rhymes with smooch + vowel
pl6/21 = p + girl's name (sorta kinda). I think it sounds like an old fashioned jacket/coat for a woman.
Hello abe. sorry, didn't mean to step on your toes.
awesome, thanks
This won't help, but the def. is "A puckered finish given to fabric by treating it with a caustic soda."
interesting, thanks torgone!
...and the po's are now causing me trouble. well, I have most of them, at least. getting the p's finished before I take a break (I think I have ~10 of them left)
and that's ...well, about a normal-type definition for here, isn't it?
later everyone. have to supervise lunch.
Bye, Charm. (Which I pronounce "chair-um.") Just kidding!
lol vic!
=8-)
bye charm
laters charm
bye charm (sorry was away from my desk)
Hello again
Hello, ladynoire.
can I get a clue for the first po 7/32?
po7/32 - pl of art of writing verse, starts first three letters of said verse
Edgar Allan Flowers ..
I've gotten that far, it's just the last few letters I haven't figured out yet. :)
:) torgone
ends like torgone said: end of bunch of flowers
fish me. was looking at the wrong p
Ring around the rosies ..
(The kind of flowers that you get pockets full of when playing Ring Around the Ro....)
yeah, once I realized that I needed to be looking at the other p, it totally made sense
okay, finished the p's, break time. thanks guys!
slow in here today
H-e-l-l-l-o-o-o-o, f-e-a-t-h-e-e-e-r-r-r-r. . . .
anyone got a clue for se5/10 or se 7/32?
lol, the echo???
se7/32- no laughing matter
i have a se5/10, that is like a psychic, plural
just got it Vic,t hanks
se5/10 - pl of se4, unless there are others
like a psychic?;
Actually, feather, I was just trying to be slow. But the echo is as good an interpretation as any. :)
hee
a psychic se** into the future...she's a se**
got that one, its the other se5/10 I need
that's the only one i have, sorry!
thanks Fea
okay, here it is: se5/10 - misspelling of grab, add a vowel to the previous se4
thanks vic
Okay, just two more sh's and I'm done with them
Hello again. What are my chances of getting the last eight words, do you think...
MIssing one T - have te 4/5X2, th4/5, 5/12, 6/21, 4/6, 5/14 and to 4/4 and 5/16 - anyone know what I'm missing?
i'm missing 13 P words from the bottom. sigh.
Depends which words they, are, matty! ;)
i don't have the list yet cadfan
I've got all the P's, feather
I just need ~half of the S's and a few Ts
to6/27, CadFan.
that's ok, just griping in general, but thanks! i'm sure i'm missing some vital letter pattern
cad -> plural the to 5/16
I need Ss and Ts as well. No fours, just 3 fives, 4 sixes and one seven. Shall we start with the seven? So7/28 and it's probably associated so6/18
working on the Si's now
LOL tried to past tense it but never plural... THANKS
i'll bbl, taking a break
Just its pl, matty!
Fancy party, matty
I don't have the 6/18, though, sadly...
Bye, featherbee.
Do now - thanks, Tor!
Matty, french word for Sir
then the plural
Oh, sorry, matty; I misunderstood!
Anyone have the si5/14?
Mee - I do - think of an alternate spelling for what you might put on pancakes
si5/14 - alternate spelling of boiled down maple sap?
I'm working on the si5/12 and the si6/21
Put it on your waffles ..
sirups
Cause if you've got a LOT of waffles, that's what you'll need...
Thanks Matty and Torg
OOOOOOPPPPPPSSSSSS!!!!!!! sorry
matty, see lady's clues for the si's
Matty - Bonjour Monsi***
then pluralize it
Oh well, everyone was about to get that word anyway . . .
Thanks Lady!
oops. closed the t's (and got the si's thanks to everyone)
il n'ya pas de quoi
Just two to words left - the only two left not involving foot digits.
Or they might - who knows - I don't have them yet!
Now to work on the so's
A hat they wear in Canada, eh?
to5 and to6 are chef's hats
What's the canadian hat - the tos...?
Canadian chefs eh?
where is the 8 letter word?
chefs hats have names?
*~*~*~*~*~*Fireworks*~*~*~*~*~*
Why Canadian chefs, though?
Yeah Matty
Roger, Bill, to5 are their names, ladyn!
Without actually knowing any French, I believe the word is simply French for "hat."
It's a chef's hat OR what Canadians call a wool watchcap
Well, what a day - my 15 year old was married - kinda...and I'm now going to watch Angel. Anyone need a clue before I go?
...and Hooray for matty!!!!!!
what does the 8 letter clue start with?
Congrats, matty! on the grid and on the marriage???
dirt
Dirty bait (so)
thanks!
My icon shows a picture of the big day - the school puts this on for reasons I'm not entirely clear on.
Your daughter is a lovely bride... if perhaps just a trifle young!
15! So's the groom...
Good night all - Angel beckons.
Okay, I'm off to sew bedroom curtains. Good luck to those still working!
niters matty & vic!
Hi everyone, I've been silently addicted and playing this game for the past two weeks. My question is how did everyone get so smart???
Like I said earlier Matty....a very handsome young couple!
By playing this game!
I see...
okay, now to clear out the last 5 words
bgmadden...it's all in the wrists!
Hi Tor just read your profile.....lol
and - FIREWORKS.
I don't know if that bodes well for me then Hi there
well done Shade!
torgone - where in San Diego are you? ( I grew up there)
can you guys help me with the so's, the long ones
soul
I've been reading the comments about Canadian chef's hats with great amusment, as an English bilingual Canadian I have never heard the word applied to a chef; in colder parts of Canada people, especially children, wear to**** in the wnter--a woollen cap that pulls down over their ears pronounced ----t--long oo--k
oops I am so very sorry everyone
Haven't done them yet Lady!
Hi Hetty....how are you?
bgm - if you haven't already had a look at Angelsongs Resource link under Friends of Babble at the bottom of the page. Lots of hints and tips there.
so 7/32 - dirt + fishing bait (there's a letter overlap)
So, Vicuna, I think as always you are right--french for a winter hat
Shade, just got that one, weird word
Hetty is there another clue for it?
Hullo Flsk and thanks for asking. I have post-op exam this p.m. which I am rather dreading--ask after that!
Oh......I shall cross everything ....just for you!
french for a winter hat? now that one I don't get
Thanks flask! Cadfan - south bay
yes--it rhymes with Yorkshire pronunciation of "book" and after the "to" you go to the poblematic rarely used sQUare followed by a second vowel
Look at the cue, ladynoire
ah, gotcha
Excellent clue....but I already had it...:(....its the to6 am looking for!
I grew up in the Hillcrest area. Have you been there long? Remember the old Sears store?
Yeah, all the So's are done
pluralize the french hat
Ihave 13 so's - is that all there are?
thanks Lady!
np
I've only been here about 10 yrs, cad ..
anyone got the Su 7?
SU7 - more bad tempered.
ahh.. Sears was long gone by then. ANyway - I went to San Diego High.. and Roosevelt Jr (right next to the zoo). Nice place to live - not so hot for raising a family anymore though.
H Sue....do you have any of the ri$ words?

Su 7 - more bad tempered. Start with something that sounds like SIR and then add what sounds like someone who doesn't tell the truth.
I got it, thanks - found it right after I asked lol
That's my era Flask - I remember watching those games as though it was yesterday.
me too.......I loved him especially.....and still do.....he's a lovely man!
hi

Yes - he has personality.
Hi jms!

Hi jms
which is more than any of them have nowadays!
jms..the wpods have to be 4 letters or more
im new my aunt just got me started
anyone get the th5
anyone have a clue for the sh7?
The I from the second row is an odd one - no dictionary definition. It sounds rather like an African spear.
welcome to addiction jms..lol
lol
it's realy fun.
TH 5 is the plural of the Th 4/6
Sh7 is the past tense of the SH 5/12
am glad you stepped in there, Sue....cos' I hadn't a clue what to say........
HA!
It was better than saying what it sounded like!
how about the th5/12?
dose it coast to upgrade to pro
?
TH 5/12 - not your but TH***
oh major DUH
jsm...£10 for life
I looked at that and thought it was spelled wrong lol
I think you can try it for a fortnight jms and see if you like it before you need to go pro. I think it's $15.
that's not bad
sue...that african spear sound alike...i...?..(second letter pls..*batting eyelids*
One more and I'm done@@@@

Hiya Stid....how are you??
Thanks Jen...
I have been to see the Queen! (of Babble that is) I saw Hetty on her birthday :-) and Jill -- and visited Victoria, British Columbia for a couple days with Mother and my kids.
well done Miss P!!
np :)
I am so glad I am home... though I loved seeing Hetty and her crew... I am a bit overwhelmed by the big city that was the rest of the trip. Glad I was only there a couple of days.
nice!
Yes Stid....I could feel Heety's joy all the way over the Atlantic, at having you!
I think we were the first North American Babble meeting... it was great fun! If my whole three days had been spent with Hetty and Jill (and hopefully next time Flosey) I think I wouldn't be so tired. :-)
Oh well........now you can sit back and enjoyed all the memories...
hey! what about the second pl 6/21. please don't ignore me
sorry magzel -- wasn't ignoring you, just am not there yet...
magzel, it was clued earlier as pl + rhymes with smooch + vowel
sorry, I missed your request in all the chat :)
I will be working on getting the trip journaled and some photos up for you-all later...
that sounds great, stid!
I would love to see them......
if I may!?
HO5.12 & 6.21 - are connected to the first HO4.6 ?
oh yes! of course you may. But first my feet are up and I am babbling while I wait for my noodles to finish being cooked... One boy went straight to the piano, the other to his favorite toys in his room. A dog at my feet... we are are just "being home". Only thing missing is chocolate...
no, change the 3rd letter
Hello, Stid. How was your trip over the border?

We missed you Stid!!!! {{{{HUGS}}}}}
that 1st plus sign is supposed to be an equal sigh. sorry
PL6.21 - I think it is a fabric - think of a toilet word.
ty, phandmd!

yw Jen. My potty word didn't work. Still thinking
phand...that po is po 5/14.
I missed everyone... logged on only a couple times, but no gridss even close to complete for three whole days! *proud expression* SEE! I toldja I wasn't addicated!

the plural is the 6/24
potty word - with L and second vowel on end

It's good to know this isn't an addiction, Stid. lol
Thank you jen and phand....now there is a new word that I am sure I will never use...never would have found it.

ru 6/21 is the wooden object you use to measure with an extra vowel in the middle
ty magzel
usually with a un in front. more governing.
I take my hat off to ya...and on that note it's off to tae kwon do. Nice chatting
bye bg
thank you judy- i've been trying to figure it out for awhile now
yw bb
Judy, I need another P from the top (listless so far) I have: the stuff they eat in Hawaii (4/5) to have elegance and grace (5.12) The one who has the grace (6/21) plural that (7/32) plural the grace (6/21)
bye bg, see you later!
any clue for the ri 6?
HO5.12 & 6.21 - any clues pls
kkiln, it's the plural of the first 5/10
hi kkiln! RE 6/18 is plural something (or someone) that holds things up
I'm checking for you Stid
lynxx, it rhymes with what my house is filled with when my husband is playing his drum set
stidmama--you're missing the po 7/32 which is poetry-related...
TY jen

someone clued that po 8 as "Edgar Allen Flowers," which was fabulous
jen--the si 5/12 looks like a french way of writing sewer.

We have Lickety today Stid
licketys up - hi stim!

hi debb! didja miss me? LOL
*working furiously to undersand the po 8 clue*
i did stim - you were gone FOREVER
stidmama--there's no po 8
Jen, si + french for man - mons***
there is an so 8, though, that's a plural of the so 7/32.
po7
Stid, it's a po7, not po8
oh -- I must have misread a clue. I have that po 7...
that did it, Judy, ty!
it's a weird word si + the second vowel, the fifth vowe; and a consnant and the pleural
I was gone 3.5 days, and at times it did seem like forever. Except when we were with Hetty and Jill. then it seemed like forever was washing around us and leaving us behind.
one more to go . . .
go Jen go
which one jen
go Jen!
the su 7
I bet it was fun to get together with Hetty and Jill, Stid. Had you met them before?
su 7 is nastier
more hostile
ty, magzel and judy -- FIREWORKS!!
woohoo Jen!!!!!!!!
not in this lifetime, Judy -- but perhaps at some other place and time. They seemed "familiar" to me, like we had grown up together or something and then been apart...

fiz, you didn't even compliment my on my hoop....*sniff*
Did too! Scroll down! I'm a big fan of body piercing!
good evening everyone :)
Hi Cath
how's it goin flask1?
Hi Cath!
And the eyepatch is a nice touch. Do you think a squirrel can have a parrot on its shoulder?
hmphh! crosses winged arms, i meant after i improved my icon.
Am gettin' there Cath, thanks....yourself??
Hi Cath - you missed the rabid attack squirrel!
hey stidmatt...ya go on the trip with yer mom to visit jill?
hmmmmm
Flask --- I am talking about the word for dirt + to tempt someone....so 7/32... the last letter of the first compound word is the same as the first letter of the second word....just add an s for the plural.
huh fizz? sounds scary...the boyfriend had one of those in his cottage all winter!! squirrel poop everywhere come springtime
eeeeeeeeeeee's eeeee's e's are all i see!!!
I didn't think about the poop, Cath. Nut - think we can do a diaper and keep the pirate toughness?
can i have that clue for the so7? and 8 pls?
lol fiz
kkiln - you are a genuis
Yup! and I went with Stidgrant (Whyo is playing Battlefront II) and my Grandmother!
kkiln....I am not getting it!
me neither...don't have the compound wd
flask -- the word for dirt + lu 4/5 --- it is really a compound of so 4/4 and lu 4/5.
the first word is "dirt", the second something you use to entice fish - just omit the second "l"
okay - rabid flying squirrel hopped up on drugs with a hoop and patch now has a pet bird.
Nice work Nut!
Got it thanks!!
why thank you, i should do a show
wow...that was tough...tks kkiln
sounds better than what's on tv these days (for the most part) evanonut
Cath it starts with the S in the centre of bottom row and work your way up!
LOL Cath - sad, but true.
lol...at first i didn't even see the dirt word!!! (course i did just return to the game)
*looks sadly at short list* It's a good thing the real point of babble is all of you guys!
I couldn't see the dirt word either.......lolol
hi... clues for the first si word?
Glad you got it!
ya...i love the chat...i often forget about the game in chatting on so!!
thats why I rarely see fireworks.......cos' I can talk too much!
It's *really* hard to concentrate when you're being attacked by a rabid, etc. flying squirrel, too.
had everyone thinking i was a depressed sort the other nite tho... i'm really not!!!
just back-- no fiz-- I take the T, but I've been avoiding those tunnels all long...
along
k...bk to the grid for a few...
having driven around there two weeks ago, I take my hat off to anyone who drives in Boston
Glad to hear it, Lib. My sister just flew out of Logan and it took her 2 1/2 hours from my house with the detours....
and that comes from an experienced manhattan driver
ok, i'm not quite ready to grab the list, but i'm missing a huge amount of Ps. I have 7 PLs, 12POs, 1PS, and 6 PUs. Can someone just point where I have holes?
Dorens -- hard to clue...si + currency used in Europe today without the last vowel.
thanks kkiln....french for sir
I've bee n told by people in my hometown (lowell, ma) that I drive like a cabbie...
you have all the pl's feather
used to boston...
ok, good, that helps dorens!
Just having a brain blast. Maybe on one of the days when we don't have an icon theme scheduled we should use Science Fiction!
missing one po
and a lot of pu's
so a bunch of PUs looks like
i know feather......going thru the list can often be a chore when sometimes monkeying could work
it was when I cut someone off & then routinely thanked them...
yes, there are like 18 of them!
thanks! yeah, i'm down to 43 left, and am not quite ready. i probably will be after i monkey around with these Ps some more
40 left... tough one, I think...
try manhattan. libarebel....no matter what anyone says, it's ten times easier than boston... and easier to find your way around.
i'm down to 12....but don't know if i'llever find them
Word up, Dorens. I'll drive in Manhattan any day over Boston. RI isn't any better, though - just less dense.
wee, just got 6 PUs in a row!
on a roll feather....
see, sometimes that's all you need....a nudge...
drove in manhattan once-- easy-- streets are not cow paths
exacto!
in boston they just paved the cow paths-- true
ho 5/12 please?
don't have yet dorens, sorry
me neither
me neither
hiya dorens

less unruly, elalyr
no ru6/21, but i have the 6/27!!!
ru 6/21 -- something you draw a line with...butfourth letter is an extra vowel.
Dorens - check the log for evidence of nut's innocence....
innocent, that's good nut.....but i've been around here for a couple of weeks, so just slightly skeptical!!
aha, thanks dorens & kkiln
ty dorens
i'm wounded
what's up with the first po 5/14...think it must have something to do with rhymers,but....?
a slingshot to the wing?
tranq dart to the wing, hence the hoop
anyone have the li4/5 & 5/12?
i think i only have the 2nd po 5/14 dorens
*scrolls through list* I don't think I have your word, dorens
the 2nd po i think is the one that when it rains it po5's

ty, kkiln-- weird words!
*smacks lips* this alcohol is hitting the spot... totters off to play with fire.
katusha -- po 5/4 is p + grease (3 letters) + fifth vowel. Add an s for po 6/24.

Welcome back Stid - did your son survive the squirrel attack?
okay leigh -- see you when you get back (I love Hawaiian style pizzas... hint hint)
where did you go stid? besides lunch with feather?
not feather, hetty!
Welcome back, mama! I missed you. I got a little unruly while you were gone....And Fran might help you better with the Hawaiian pizza. *innocent giggle and then sneaks out*
*look of confusion* squirrel?
thinks have been a little...chaotic in the log today.
stid!!! long time, almost neighbor -- been in Canada, i believe?
Hetty is a most delightful person, and her husband has my kids wrapped around his little finger, and Jill is as lovely and fun as can be!
Well, you see, evanonut had this crazed rabid drug-addled flying squirrel, and i thought it would be fun to have a real vs. cartoon squirrel race...
MICH!!!! you have not been around in foverever yourself!
hey mich! good job with the quote puzzler site yesterday!
Lucky is so happy to have me home that he has bit both arms and my face... *sigh* bad mama for going away, I guess...
sounds like nut to me, fiz! so what did you do with her?
I went back East, and after the 1st week there was no (free) wifi, then I came back & you were gone -- my cats were biting me, too!!
i don't think you want to know stid!! :-)
Thanks Fran, did I end up in the top 10 for the triple thing? I haven't been yet today
LOL mich! maybe German Shepherds derive from felines and not canines?
so then we all got attacked by rabid squirrels, and i tried to scare her with an owl icon, and libarebel turned into cruella deville, and finally I had to shoot her with a tranquilizer dart, and then matt yelled at me
you earned one star mich...i think it was for the triplet one.
I haven't been on the quotepuzzler site in longer than I didn't babble... will need to get back into that, as well!
Well, you can read about it later if you want. I've got to have some dinner....bbl
stid, a lot more babblers are on there now, muse, mich and others
I think it's passive aggressive YOU'RE BACK! you LEFT me ! you're BACK! etc. "love bites"
LOL Fiz! that is so funny! see you when you get back from dinner. ;-)
later fiz!
See you all later!
WOW! Babblers taking over the world :-)
I love acrostics, so it's right up my alley -- thanks to nrkii or whoever put the link up :)
well, I have 67 words to go. brb with a list...

I'm feeling 7:16ish...
that e...is... a guys name, then add where you go after 8th grade
the scary one is from the top.
ah, thanks, both hurshy and stid!
i never ever never would have found it.
scary like cleveland?
somehow it just rang some little bell somewhere in the very back of my brain and i tried it. that is the beauty of babble, the more you do it, the easier it gets.
cleveland rocks, cleveland rocks
how about the i in the 2nd row down?
jbp, first generation japanese immigrant
i have 4 left and since i'm frightened both stim and nrkii will both do theirs faster then me ... can someone help me with the to 5/16 and the po 5/14 (after the writer person)
debb, you're funny
go debb go!
make me wanna train my squirrels
debb, to5/16 is a chef's hat, french word
debb, po5/14 is hawaiian taro dish + **, ** skip to my **

the taro dish is pluralized in po4/5 below it
aw, franmag beat me to it. well i was hampered by having to find it.
thanks franmag
yw jbp!
if only there were an m, we could have possum.
now for the to 5/16?
jbp - use your high scoring double
yeah, but i'd rather have the hawaiian food, than opossum.
jbp, chef's hat, kind of sounds like clock sound...tick, to**
toque

There are several surprising words here, today! the wu 4/9, the si 5/10, and, of course, the ps 4/5. Surprising that they are allowed, I mean.
jbp, is + rhymes with "s** what?"
si 5/10 as iin majesties?

yay exwren!!
who cares, rather
hetty lets do it
thanks fran --didn't think of the plural
Therew IS no silly french chef hat word. It's a perfectly valid French canadian term for a winter hat worn in our 40 below weather
i sensed that jbp!
*wonders if someone should tell rather that hetty is a grandma*
i always thought that had a double o in it
and a pompom at the end
right on Hetty!

nrkii - thatsalotta ppppppp

The hat word always reminds me of Doug and...uh...the McKenzie brothers, you know? Bob and Doug, was it?
That winter Quebec hat is a tu
jbp, the 8 starts with so, plural of a 7 that builds off the dirt word
hey all of you go to the website www.guitar411.blinkz.com its our website
jbp- the so is getting dirty, dirt + a fishing lu** (only 1 l)

Hi all. Just checking in. Would someone please tell me what happened. I have tried 4 times to click on the log and read it so I didn't have to ask, but it keeps freezing up Firefox and booting me out

hi temple
it has done that for me too, musicmom
did lickety post clues today?
yes ping
liss
yike s - sorry!
Kristin lost her baby. Stid said she is a dear babble friend.
musicmom, i just came on about 10 minutes ago and read that kristin had lost her baby during her pregnancy. there is a post on babanon by nrkii
She is. OHHHH my that is terrible. The baby wasn't very old if I remember correctly
that's so sad - she was almost due!
i'll go read what nrkii wrote - i think she was due in august
Oh my I thought she had had the child. That is really terrible. I definitely will post my condolences and keep her and her famiily in my prayers.
i think it would have been their first
Thanks for letting me know. i don't know why the chat log wouldn't post for me.
Yes Ping but I'm sure there is also extended family hurting as well. Oh I'm soooo sad.
I really hate to do this - seems wrong somehow in light of the conversation. But, could I have a clue for the po 5.14 the first one
is Kristin's babble name Kristin?
Yes Stephie
lieu
i don't have that one yet musicmom
Hello GW - yes that is a word<G>
HI all -- wrong box

pu5/14, the first one is a plural, the second is whizzed up fruit or other stuff (think blender setting)
pu6/24 is plural of that

okay, a story about squirrels to pass the time: When I was a young girl -- maybe ten or eleven -- in Virginia, a big storm came through -- powerful winds. The kind of storm where everyone huddles in the safest part of the house with blankets and pillows and pretends to be brave. A HUGE white oak across the street fell sideways, across the cross street and just missed another house.
nite cathy
okay Cathy, good night
ty, Pumpkin!
hmmmm ... the first three letters of SU4,5 +
um Flask -- hair that is more than wavy is cu***: think more so, then change the first letter to S

great clue stid!
stidmama....u shoulda told that story to evanonut earlier...she'd have loved it...i'm sure...
welcome back fran
Judy, i sucked big time for the first several times!!
let me try that again ... SU7,32 = SU4,5 + LI4,4
but your names in lights now!!!! lol
back to the story: After the storm, everyone in the neighborhood walked out to assess the damage. We heard little sounds -- creaking of limbs, water dripping, cars sliding on wet pavement... and then a chirping noise. We looked everywhere. Suddenly, my mother told my brother to hold very still.
yes judy, NOW i can get into the top 10, very challenging though
su 4/5 to be positive about something is to be su**
pu5/14-- have pocketbook & liquid
what a storyteller you are Stid
then what stid!!!
And at his feet, was a soft, fur-lined little pouch -- a nest with two baby squirrels inside! Both alive -- and both hungry.

I have the SU7/32.....its the SO7/32 I am looking for.....
aaahhhhhh

Not knowing where the parents were (or even if they had survived the fall), we took them home. Made a little nest for them in an old aquarium, and called the vet.
help with the second PU7,36 please?
chat not working?
so 7/32 - dirt + what you use to fish
pu 5/14 = more pu4/6
*peeks in to hear the story*
evening all!
pumpkin, pu7/36 is more like a bag
Hi Fiz & Rocky
Hundreds of eyedropper-fulls of canned dog milk later, and many hours of holding and cuddling and playing with them, we took them to our favorite little walking trail at Harwood's Mill in Newport News and set them loose at the base of a nut tree. They ran up as if they had lived there all their lives...
Nut! How's your electrical level?
pumpkin, add an i near the end of pu6/24 that is a ship's pu****
thanks, FranMag
thx Stid. What a lovely bedtime story.
*whistles innocently in the corner*
Did you know that there is an endangered squirrel? It's my icon.
yw pumpkin
Their names were Paws (big ones!) and Bumbles (kept tripping and falling). And they grew up and lived happily ever after...

ronnie, french for sir, like in monsi***
mine is too, now
I had two uncles, one from NC, the other a Brit, living in the USA. They used to tease each other about the pronunciation of the word. My NC uncle accused the Brit of saying "squiddle", and the Brit accused the NC one of saying "squirl".
evening all, just popping in to say hi - not playing today
Ah! the old pronunciation game! EEther or EYEther, Jill?
thanks franmag i was hoping not to have to bug u tonight, got to 139 before asking for clues
evening firefly
go Ronnie go
that's great ronnie! it's never a bother, i enjoy giving clues!
Nope, don't need anything. Except my vacation to start a little sooner.
go ronnie go!
Fran is the clue Queen!
34 left, losing steam rapidly !!!!!
oh -- where are you going, leigh? someplace fun, i hope?

agreement here, fran -- your clues rock!
can we help aknitter?
72 left for me - argh!
thanks judy, ping!
gooo ping!
lol Ping. Great icon.
I've got 56 - but I did run my mouth quite a bit earlier...
got tooth picks for my eyelids judy?
I'm going to sit on my bum for a full week at home, while my family goes to North Carolina for a big annual family get-together. I will enjoy the peace and quiet and solitude immensely.
Come on aknitter. You're in my time zone. Why it's early yet. lol
careful with those, aknitter -- I still have dents in mine from last night :D
oh, that does sound nice, leigh!
judy, it's a radioactive squirrel from the simplsons
that o in the 4th row is mocking me, can only make 1 word out of it!
{{{{WOULF}}}}
ping - just checked your squirrel in your profile -- didn't think Jack Kerouac looked like that! LOL
leigh...that sounds divine! some of the most relaxing times i've had were housesitting for people where i could be alone.
{{{***stidmama***}}}
LOL woulf!
i could use knitting needles to prop my eyes open
Hi GW
hi woulf!
ouch
you can learn a lot here in babble land, jilli!
Can I join you Leigh?
ak - short dps would work.
Hi again to one and all!! including Fran and Judy and Fiz and Ping...
Absolutely. Everyone is invited, as long as you don't get too rowdy. =) We can steal the neighbor's wireless internet so a few of us can babble at once.
I feel like I should be holding up my magic mirror! :D
hey fiz, hows your weather? it is comoing my way soon
sounds perfect, leigh! I'll bring the MJCLs and some icecream...
hello GW - kids in bed?
ak - it's ok - we got whacked on Tuesday but just a little wind and rain here. where are you?
stid, I hate to ask but what is MJCL?
aknitter, one of the Os is ou5/12, starts like the possessive ou4/5, drop the last letter and add two vowels
Kristianna is asleep, Seb is being fussy -- he has a really bad case of diaper rash :(
Judy -- mochajavachocolatte... (my invention just for babblers)
Yay! I'm waiting! I can be bartender
poor Sebastian!
yum yum
is5/10 anyone
ah fran, thanks for the clue but its a little late for possessive....
leigh, you're the young one. Will you take care of us for the week?
*licks lips in anticipation* I don't have vacation until September
gw, i have one in diapers, one recently graduated from them
indeed, stid -- we have been treating him with A&D ointment or original formula Desitin, but he has an open sore that is veeeerrryy slow to heal
judy i am about an hour north of you at the cape cod canal
is 5/10: first generation japanese in the United States.
Fiz -- I won't have a vacation til this time next year due to changing jobs
we had an imaginary MJCL with stid on Tuesday - stidmama, her mama, stidmatt, his kid brother, hetty and hetty's hubby on her birthday - what a great babbling convention!
greywoulf, the one thing i swear by for diaper rash is Burt's Bees diaper balm. it's expensive for a teeny tube, so i keep it for emergencies, but it's extremely good.
I think you're more than an hour, ak. I'm in PA. I think you mean Fiz.
Sad for you, Woulf! Stid, I'm coming up your way this fall - going to check out the Olympic peninsula.
I'm jealous Jilli!
Woulf -- have you tried calendula ointment or something with comfrey? Assuming it's not infected, those might help things heal faster.
feather -- is is available widely, or only a few stores?
aknitter, ou4/5, you**, mine and ou**
oops you are right i did mean fiz
this game is so much more than a game
do you have CVS pharmacies? i know it's there, and at Wegman's I believe
Well Fiz, we'll have to get together!
Well, AK, if you're coastal you're ok. My sister's in Easthampton and she's got awful thunderstorms.
ty fran -- babble clues for dummies, great book
Ain't that the truth Jill. Love talking to everybody.
Thanks for that idea as well, stid -- *goes to get a pen*
I will take care of everyone. =) I've got a lot of energy
woulf, my sister-in-law used to dry the babies' butts (she has twins) with hair dryer set on low.
Burt's Bees should also be online...
yep, i'm pulling it up on amazon right now
to really get the area dry before re-diapering
Stid - I'll let you know as things get closer. And AK, just had a HUGE clap of thunder - I might have lied...
There's also a fungal powder I use (I think you could use it on babies). Zeasorb AF
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C S7PP8/104-8848919-2018308?v=glance&n=3 760911 you'll have to copy and paste in parts
i love thunder storms
oh fiz! you should shut down to protect yourself and your computer...
fiz, you may regret electrocuting nut earlier!! :-)
I do too ak but my one cat absolutely freaks.
take a break Fiz. We don't want to lose you.

I miss thunderstorms -- we got dillies in Quebec -- but I don't miss the mosquitoes and blackflies
whoa, that was huge! sorry!!!!
i amsitting here with my new kitty, just about 12 weeks old
yeah, Fiz -- we had a power outage of a split second two nights ago and even though my computer was off at the time the new hardware found wizard has activated for the printer
I didn't do it - she ran into the thunderstorm holding the lightning rod on her own. I just asked her to hold my kite while I called 911. And I'm on the laptop so ok on the power front.
aaaahhh! They are sooooo cute when they're kittens.
Wow feather....
lol fiz!
i know fiz, sorry! *blushes at post hogging*
he's a siamese, really sweet, keeps trying to type on the computer
One of mine likes to lie on the keyboard.
we have the funniest chats -- first electrocuting squirrels, then diaper rash... what next?
yeah, finally greyed out that evil o box
ever see the bird feeder that spins and flings the squirrels off?
We're a full service chat, Stid. lol
gooo aknitter!!

We'll have to wait and see, Stid!
wtg ak
Thank you all for the great advice -- I will act upon the info tomorrow on my way home from work! {{*Hugs for all*}}
Gooooo AK!
that's a new one, feather.
i have finally resorted tot he list 31 left
Hope he's feeling better GW
go knitter go!
I've seen the informational video in the Nature Co Store, feather!
he 7?
we can start talking about kids shows we remember fondly -- like The Magic Garden
feather, never did see the spinner, but then I never see a squirrel here in paradise!
it's hilarious...a local store that is called "wild birds unlimited" was selling it, and had a video playing of these squirrels basically going for merry go round rides before they went zinging into the air
I'm back. Another great diaper rash ointment is Boudreaux's Buttpaste. The inventor was on Oprah and we have used it before on our children. It's great!
he 7 is the female who will inherit a ton of bucks!
aknitter, woman who inherits
I have to head out for a while. See you-all later...
Love it, Steph!
Judy -- mom finally succeeded in getting him to fall asleep -- he has been trying for the past hour, but refuses to let himself go sometimes
night stid!

Stephie -- thanks for that one -- I remember the first time I saw it.... I said to myself, "naaah, that can be a serious product" .... but I was wrong!
ahem, I used to love Shirley Temple movies <blush>
On The Good Ship Lollipop [singing very badly]
jilli -- Kristianna has such a head of curls, I could enter her in a Shirley Temple lookalike contest!
And yet, Jill, you're quite IM savvy.
Fran -- I loved the Electric Company!!! especially cos they had Spiderman
I am back if anyone wants any clues
my older daughter has a head of blonde curls too
*singing* Onetwothree Four Five, Sixseveneight Nine Ten, ElevenTwelve...
La,la la la
Fiz - life goes on, might as well enjoy all of it!
Who can leap capital T in a single bound? Is it a bird?
Who can leap capital T in a single bound? Is it a bird?
True - I'm a bit of a grammer queen myself, haven't picked up all the l8r, cu, et cetera.
Is it a plan?
Actually, I remember asking if Shirley's curls were real -- a cynic from Day One, I guess -- mine was dull brown and feebly waved
No, it's Letterman!!
I am actually saving the money to get the Electric Company boxed DVD set that just came out :)
I was a total towhead when I was a kid, my parents both have dark hair. People would always ask, Where did you get that blonde hair, and my parents taught me to say, It's a wig!
23 left and they are all s words. I am su4 this will not be pretty
GW - are you se7? That's awesome
aknitter -- I have 17 to go -- p's, s's, and t's
sounds like a race
51 to go :(
It is a best of compilation I think, Fiz -- I would love to have the whole run myself -- I preferred EC to Sesame Street growing up
Do you remember Schoolhouse Rocks? The little "commercials" about grammar and such. There is a CD out with all the stuff on. Conjunction Junction What's Your Function [humming]
you can do it ping
come on ping you can do it.
sorry, got locked out while my computer was doing some kind of scan
Judy -- I just got a video of the top 25 Schoolhouse Rocks songs
I do workshops on politics a lot and use the "I'm just a bill" clip for it.
Conjunction Junction was number one!!

A lot of big stars got their start on EC
Lolly, lolly, lolly, get your adverbs here!

I don't know what you do when you knit!
Do you remember the little cartoons..I always associate them with School House Rock, but I don't think they were..with the little guys who taught kids how to make healthful snacks?? "Hankerin' for a hunka..a slice, a slab, a chunka...hankerin' for a hunk of cheese!"

Sleep well, Judy -- I will be doing the same soon :)
(meaning the litterbox as well as the sleep)
stephie, do you have the woman's carry thing with all the letters?
Oh, good, Woulf, I'm not (too) crazy, then! There was also the one for ice cube tray juice pops (you know, fill tray with juice, cover with plastic wrap, and insert toothpicks).
ronnie, it's plural of a word that describes lyrical verse, singular ends in a y

I didn't let my monkeys play long enough before I asked -- so of course they found it right after I asked :D
Did a timeout to wish my son a happy 58th birthday yesterday. Now time to plunge into the grid and eventually get around to supping. (No, I didn't forget -- he got his present earlier)

Krista -- why are you crabby?
use the P in the right hand corner
need ru6/21
a measuring instrument, with an extra vowel
read it from right to left using the nursery rhyme that phandmd provided
i had an easy time with that one feather, but not fast enough apparently!
I'm fine tonight, Jillibus, or do you mean in general?
please will I stop chatting and get to those 57 words?
I meant your icon, Krista!

Crab = Maryland and zodiac sign for Cancer. Double meaning, there.

Will have a look, Stid. I am hounded every day at work to join MySpace. Just dont have time for it..sounds a little weird given all the time I devote to this!!
Krista, same date as my late cousin who couldn't have been more Brit - Oxford don in logic and metaphysics, tada
and Fireworks!!! (it was the 2nd pl6 that Ping had just asked for)
yay woulf!!!!!!
YAY Woulf!!!!
yay woulfie!
the ones after those Fran, thanks
YAY GW!!!!
thanks so much, phan!
yw
flosey, change last letter to another vowel and then plural
hooray for GW!
And much as I would love to stay, once again I have to finish and run -- Seb was up twice during the night yesterday so I am exhausted --- hopefully he will sleep better tonight
flosey, sounds continental indian to me
hope it's a better night, gw
night woulf!!!
TTFN, GW
good night Woulf - have fun with those cat boxes!
Krista my birthday (u will not believe it is: 7/7/70)
There are so many different free places, I have decided to stick to the three I like/know best: frappr, yahoo and H2G2... though I also have personal web pages on our own domain. :-) Just too much to look through and update if I try to visit all the cool sites all the time!
Thanks again for all your help, both parental advice and clues and I will check in again tomorrow {{{{{{{{*********Hugs for EVERYONE********}}}}}}}}}}
good night Woulf!
stid, i use typepad but it's not free
thanks again Fran, got them
Logic and metaphysics! Phew! July 4 is a bad day for a bday in this country. Everyone is always busy! I have to plan waaay ahead for bday parties.
hey ronnie, you're 5 days younger than my youngest sister, she's a crabby cancer also
yw flosey!
Where am I? Could use an lu6/27...
That's cool, Ronnie! Coulda been 6/6/66!
Yikes, my kids are actually ASKING to go to bed. I feel like Mother of the Year, here.
jilli, past tense of the lu4/6
Krista is a fireworks baby!!!!
need the pu6/24 and pu7/36 (they're just before the word meaning to shove)
ta, fran, who'd a thunk that was a word?
flosey, on of the pu6/24s is plural of handbag
yw jilli! not me.
We are both crabby, live in Maryland, have birthdays the same month 3 days apart, what more can we ask for :o)
have those fran
it's after those
Well, I had an uncle named Ronnie Lee (not Ronald, Ronnie).
the other pu6/24 is a assistant on a cruise ship, sounds like one who pu5/14s
my dear son may be a cancer but he's is far from crabby. I think his lovely wife would even agree with that!
then plural for the pu7/36
oh hi flosey! didn't see you there earlier!
Interesting Krista - I'm also a cancer - and in Canada, born on July 1st
stid, how was your trip?
that's good jilli, my sister however, is quite crabby, not sure if her husband agrees though.
it's the 2 after all those fran
Oh, I'm loveably crabby. I'd like to think. Well, maybe I shouldn't be the judge of that. :l Ooohh...Flosey..interesting! I remember being in Canada on Dominion Day as a kid and we didn't know why the traffic was so bad.
recently back, was off island most of the day
And flosey, I don't think you're crabby either. Cancers are supposed to be kinda dreamy people, aren't they?
flosey, do you have 5 words that start with the handbag?
dreamy - sleepy would describe me better these days
yes Fran, it's the 2 following all those and just before the shove word
That's a nice way of saying Air Heads. :)
Hi there - I'm back 54 to go - Flo - you're not sleepy - you're amazing!
Speaking for myself,now!!
flosey, if you all 5 of the bag words there isn't anything else in between those and shove
hubby might agree to that krista at the bridge table
me too, today anyway, having had about 3 hours of sleep because I had to get up at 6:30 and wa still watch8ing the clock at 3:30, having gone to bed at 10. Night owls are night owls -- a theme idea????
LOL, Flosey! Blame it on the birth sign. ;) Oh goodness, my poor sleepy kids. They need me. Goodnight, all!
anyone get lu 6/27?
Kind people, a hint for pl6,12?
Fran, sorry I had missed the plural there, 6/24, but now need the 7/36 of that group
Myne Girl -- you're the amazing one -- seem to have taken to this as if you'd been doing it all your life!
flosey, this is how they go pu5/14 - handbag pu6/24 - ship's pu**** pu7/36 - plural of ship's pu**** pu6/24 - plural of handbags pu7/36 - more like the handbags
just didn't count right, sorry
lu 6/27 past tense of teh lu 4/6 before it
lu6 is the past tense of the one above, or what people did when they drank too much yesterday
mayne, past tense of the lu4/6
Got it, at last, thanks Fran, for you patience with tired old lady here
got it - should know that - love my shiraz
pl 6/21 one is a tool; the other rhymes with kiss add a vowel
wordsrock, best clue i saw was rhymes with a ki** on the lips, add a silent vowel
Flosey - you do not get to call yourself a tired old ladt!
yw flosey!
I mean lady!
What's all this about crabby cancers? Dont THINK I'm crabby, but know 'm subject to mood swings, theatrical, and a lover of my home--all attributes associated with the sign. Oh, and more of a creative than a logical thinker.
Hi there MayneGirl, and thank you
plus
Thanks y'all :)
*Get down to work, jilli, and stop chatting!* *But it's fun, mum!*
ok, now I need pl6/21 the second one please
gosh, i am really stuck on the ed. any help?
yes, it is fun jilli
hetty, jilli asked krista why she was crabby, that started it. lol
Hi - off island today? I was supposed to be! Could not get on the 7:20 this morning - too many tourists!
and... fireworks! see what you can do when you shut up for 6 minutes?
flosey, best clue i saw was rhymes with a ki** on the lips, add a silent vowel
are the first four Q words all related to shhhhhhhh?
pl 6/21 rhymes with kiss add a vowel
brb phone
oh my, the Crofton ferry was busy too
Flosey , who's your tireold lady compoanion? Can't be me, I'm here!
some cars left behind
Diane - ed - think Mr ed + consonant +s
hey, no hetty, it's me
dianediane, like talking horse mr. **, make it plural and stick an H in there also
thanks, guys!
was off island all day Hetty
Ping, no they are not related
have some bills to pay before bedtime. have a good night & thanks for the clues & chat tonight
night, ronnie
night ronnie!
I seem to need pl6/21
ping - no - some are an out-of-favor word for weird or reclaimed word for gay
thanks, fiz!
and phan!
1 left i thinki it is a pu4 between the knitting term and the cat noise spelled wrong
oops pu 5 15 not q 4
hetty, am I the tired old lady companion ????
no ak - those are back to back
2 pl 6/21 1 is a tool the other is a word that rhymes with kiss add a vowel
some qu are like " "
Nothing like being off island for making you tired. Hey, Maynegirl, first time I've met you--good to know another islander
Hetty - maynegirl is dilly's daughter.
jili, I was making fun of myself. I'd never make fun of you.
Hi Hetty - was on this pm for awhile - read your profile - I was an English teacher too.
That's good to know. Now, who is dilly?
I didn't think you were doing that, hetty.
My Mom - plays bridge just moved from Brinkworthy - awesome lady
Is dilly related to jilli? Oh I'm beng so silly!
LOL hetty!
Mayne, we must meet sometime when you are visiting your mom
Ok- must get serious - I'm determined to finish one of this - 46 to go
goooo maynegirl!
hi all, only on for a few tonight
Was supposed to be there today - trying again tomorrow - going to be at the ferry by 6:30 - arrghhh!
sh7/36??
ho6/21?
How many words this time?
sorry Fran and pa, just not getting that second pl6/21
ty, phanmad, for that pl! Is it a ballet term, I think?
152 blonde
ty Fran!
hi lib!
Tell me what you need, Maynegirl
who is dilly? is she the other friend you were telling me about Jill?
sh 7 is past tense of 5/12 before it
hi, ping!
hi lib!
stephie, past tense of the fitted sh5/12
11 left-- at a standstill...
ho 6/21 plural of 5/12 before it
152 blondes? where? *looks around* oh no, Fran -- that's not what's going on -- there's just one of those "infinite" mirror setups here...
go liba go! (can I help in some way?)
lib, ho6/21 is plural of the ho5/12
pl6/21--add part of a kiss and follw it by a second vowel, flosey
hi, stid! ho6/21?
me too, lib, i just finished a few minutes ago and would be happy to clue
also need first so7/32, s08/45 and the second so4/5
flossey, I had a tough time with it too.
ho6/21 is the plural of the ho512 above it. It's like a water ho** with an extra vowel in the middle.
YAY the Fiz!
ty, fiz!
qu 5/16 anyone?
clued it lib! do you need the ho5/12 too?
one to go -- the pu 4/6 between the more pu**** then the driven snow and pu 5 bread
yep!
oh -- you beat me to it!
I'll set it aside for now ph, come back to it later
qu 5/16: "strange" or "not loud"
mayne, which one?
qu 5/16 - repeat what someone says like in the newspaper
And don't forget "this one" (punctuation)
the other QU 5/16: is when you repeat what someone said...
so 7 and 8 build off of the 4/4 before it add lu 4/5
su7/32?
Stid, it seems dilly is one of the bridge gals known to jilli but not to me--not yet, at least
Stid, it seems dilly is one of the bridge gals known to jilli but not to me--not yet, at least
lib, ho5/12 is like to lift something heavy, but T is changed to an E
2nd so 4/5 is what goes to heaven when we die
hmmm, have that one...
ah! okay, I thought that might be who she is -- would be fun to get all of us together next time I come up, yes?
got it - how about qu 6/27
did I mess up my list again?
plural the "strange" qu 5 Mayne
hetty, you're right -- dilly is also known to flosey and is an extremely bright person -- like her daughter, whom I've met only a few times but has been a great help to her mother
lib, ho5/12 is also like what water the garden with plus a central third vowe
have all the so's now, thanks
Hetty - Dilly's name is usually 1, 2, or 3 in Duplicate column in Driftwood - plays with Blanche
oddballs - or if you're not so nice some gay folks.
qu 6/27 is the plural of the qu 5/16 meaning odd
got that one...
hey eveyrone.... how many wordss today??/
done!
152 luli
I guess I've been having too much fun to finish but what the hey

YAY aknitter!
aknitter - youare finished!!!???
luli - only 152 to get in an hour!!!
lib, i think you need an ho5/14, add a vowel to the ho4/6 that is 60 minutes
I'm getting the picture, Mayne. But I don't think I'm ready to join all these brilliant bridgeplayers
finally finished -- this was painful
yay aknitter!!!!
that is an evening fancy get-together, Stephie -- Starts with French for evening, I think...
so 6 & 7 combo is a big party
Stephie - think French evening party
stephie, a fancy party - from the french
then a double vowel on the end of the 6, and plural for the 7
i've got to get to bed soon - any last clues
It's also the la-de-da term for a muscal evening, so****
?
okay, the boys and dog are home from their evening excursion. I am going to be distracted again...
i'm missing a bunch of the SIs, fiz
*scrolling* do you know what, Ping?
yes, si*** bob! and plural
the SI 5/14 and 6/24 gave me fits -- they are an alternate spelling for the stuff you put over pancakes and waffles... (use an I instead of the Y)
si's, Ping? Then you're in trouble, yes si***!
mrs. butterworths
thanks, stid - was missing those
Or aunt Jemima's
thanks, hetty - great clue!!!!!
title for a king, or a dad in breeding terms...
fiz too!
are you there yet?
i'm missing the first two si's (5/12 and 6/21)
do you know german? the first 2 begin like german for she add your are.
then plural it
no, i don't know german!!!
French for "sir", and throw an abbreviation for the European Union in the middle, steph
then there's the plural of the term for a) the sperm provider and b)the lord of the manor (as addressed by a minion)
i have all SIs now except the first and second 6 s
how about french for mister mons**** and the plural
oh, begin si + 2nd vowel
plurals Ping
thanks, stid - we missed you when you were away!
plural for the si5 just clued (french mr) and the bob one.
Lots of French today,n'est-ce pas?

ARGH!! I can't get those si's!! Another clue please.
flosey - rhymes with "kiss", + second vowel
pl 6/21 the tool that pinches?
you can't be se*
ignorance is pl**** add an e
lp
siEuropeanUnionR

LOL lib
:)
oui, c'est vrai... beaucoup d' francais...
stephie, 3 vowels all together in mid of word
en effet. ;)
lib, you cant be se7, can you? Do you really need that one?
okay, taking a bit of a break, back in a moment.
the only 2 pl 6/21's are the tool and the rhymes with bliss
ty, fiz!!
the pl's -
Yw, lib, good night stid! I'm heading off to dream land - see you tomorrow.
it's the pl6/21 that comes before the extra word
si + second vowel + ??
flosey, rhymes with bliss change the first letter and add a vowel
finally got it!!
a ballet step, the tool (single and pluralP, how toilet paper comes, rhymes with bliss, extra size, soft and comfy
flosey, I think it's a ballet erm - french -- pl + h*** like qa snake + 2nd vowel
got it, thanks all, was putting the 3 in wrong place!!! Fireworks !

yes dirt + fishing term. bye
Still here flo
thanks phan and fran
got them
su7??
ping it is the so (dirt) + the lu 4 (fishing thing) use only one l and then plural it
so dirt + man*** makes things grow
yw ping and .... no one rhymes with ping.
su 7 is nastier or meaner, usually an old man
ping, sing, ying, ding, thing
great clue aknitter. thanks!
I have to give up and go eat -- too bad, it's been a good one with with real words so far (I"m in the pu's!) -- back for the flip...if I can stay awake after this busy coupla days

mayne, ou4 is you**, mine and ou**
ou4 - mine and yours is ou**
se7/32?
the other is o + ***s, comes out of infected sore
of course - i've cut off part of the grid - getting hungry
mayne, ou5 ends like the ee scary word
se7 - opposite of joking
sh 7/36?
lib, i'm totally se7, you will get this word
skinhiller, past tense of fitted sh5/12
hmmm-- have that-- messed up my list-- brb
lib se 7 - come on get ******

the first two and last two si's
hi there nrkii

hi nrkii!
what is the theme tomorrow, nrk?
si5/12..french for sir, like monsi***
plural for the si6
Disco!
si - incorrect spelling for what you use on pancakes, then plural
si5/14, alt spelling of aunt jemima's or mrs. butterworth
sweet thanks!
then plural for the 6 again
i'd love to get a small hint...what does the 8-letter word start with?
yw atropos
so saraga

hello ren!
hi ren!
hi min!
po 7/32, anyone?
hey hey! i'm ready to disco!
brb, have to start dinner
it's si6/21 'm missing...
Hey Ping, I'm going to post something in a few minutes about a survey someone is conducting about blogging and women making friends on the web -- I took the survey earlier and found it pretty interesting
27 and a screeching halt - ps6/21 and 7/32 anyone
me too Ren!
I mean po6/21 and 7/32
there's only a ps 4/5, mayne
oh ok;)
okay, now I have a new song stuck in my head thanks to Ren
I will always look for Lickety's Clues first before I try anything else. It was working today. It also came up for the last hour of yesterday's game, already had BJs
those who have good posture, mayne?
always willing to help nrkii...where is that survey?
hang on ren... will get link...
Maynegirl, po6/21 is one who shows po/12; po8 is the plural
po 5/14?
ty hetty
who shows po5/12, that is
Does anyone have a clue for the op 5/14 word please
po + third vowel + skip to my **, skin
chose, minver
ty leslie
Does anyone have a clue for the po 6/24 word please
ty leslie
ack, finally, Ren, I put the link up at my blog, which is http://journey-woman.blogspot.com/, or you can go directly to the survey...
po + third vowel + more than one lucy from charlie's angels
https://www.psychdata.com/s.asp?SID=11 9103
Min - you *** a drink so you're a ****er
nrkii - i was invited to do that survey and only half finished it - thanks for reminding me - i'll finish it now
ren, do you blog too?
si6/21?
Thank you MayneGirl for the po 6/24 clues. Now I am trying to figure out the other po 6/24 word as well.
ping - i started, then my days and night went back to corp america..so i did not get very far. nut and i are going to start the ren and nutty blog
Hawaiian veggie + rhymes with do
Sorry libarebel I do not have si 6/21.I need it as well.
must be a weird one, min...
or sou
su 7/32?
need help with so 8
even nastier, leslie
aha thanks mayne
bekki - dirt + what you fish with
lib, Min, do you have the si5 before it?
pu4/6?-- have cat sound, sounds like pooleee, flawless, and knit...
still need a po 7/32 and a po 4/5
Ping, I just posted a story about my great-grandfather. It's the 2nd in a series of "Remembrances" that I want to do. Would be oh so grateful if you know anyone who might want to contribute, if you could send them my way.
yes, have that & the plural for 6...
MayneGirl TY
po4/5, 5/12 6/21 all from same base word, do you have po4/5
I do not have the si 5/12 before the si 6/21 flosey.
as in versifier, flo?
po5/12 is a graceful person
pu4/6?
graceful, gracious person has po***
po4'/5 is the grace minus its final vowel, or french for peas
po4/6 is Brit slang for snotty, high-class
pu 4/6 is a pu*** cat but take away the last letter.
lib, cross the 1st pu 4/6 and the 4th to get the one you're looking for
I have those ones - just missing on 4,5 and one 7,32 po
so 7/32 and 8/45?
atro - dirt + what you fish with
maynegirl, the 4/5 is the 5/16 minus last letter
ty!
maybe you need the ps4? The po7/32 is pl of po/21
well ty flo - but that;s French!!
yes
sp 5/12?
two po 7/32... 2nd is plural, first is edgar allan *** + 4 **d** to a square
that is the po6/21, Mayne
okay, I am thinking you fish w/a rod, it's not on grid.
fish with? pole? rod? candy?
There are 2 po 7/32's - I have the graceful one but not the other
min - what's on the other end of the rod?
min, you use a rod, bait, fishing line, a reel, and a **** (rhymes with a word for certain that is also in grid)
mayne girl, thats the one that starts with edgar allan ***
ah thanks nrkii
maynegirl, it's an incorrect spelling of a bunch of flowers
ty, nrkii!
add and e for third letter
the other is a po7/36, and it's one who does the po**ing out of liquid from jug
I could have gone straight to the "rhymes with word for certain" and skipped all the fishing equipment I suppose :)
MayneGirl, isn't there a real at the other end of a rod
Ahh, ty Flo - was forgetting the "s" at the end
Min - where do you live?
i'm not big on fish, except when it comes to babble, apparently
I finally, got the fishing clue! Thanks Mayne and nrkii!
yw min
floset there is nothing incorrect about po7/32. It's the pl of the term for the art of po**ry and has noihin to do with flowers
okay, cannot get so 8/45
19 left - never been so close before
go go mayne! we'll help you finish
nrkii, i finished the questions for the survey - appreciate the reminder
hetty, true, but flosey's clue made it easier for some to get it :)
sure ping ... didn't realize you had gone away, did you see my comment about "remembrances"?
In facct if the top left hanbd corner letter were a y you could read the singular of po7/32 by proceeding from rt to lft
MayneGirl, I live in Westchester New York, and you?
ty les - have to turn the light on - typing in the dark here!
no - i will scroll down though
ho5/14? have units of time...
is5?
oh, thank you hetty, was not familiar with the word
nm got it
firewords
Does anybody have a clue for the ri 6/18 word please
Ping, I just posted a story about my great-grandfather. It's the 2nd in a series of "Remembrances" that I want to do. Would be oh so grateful if you know anyone who might want to contribute, if you could send them my way.
re 4 but not the foxes
learning many new words in this game
hooray atropos!
sorry, nrkii. I find it hard to accept the cutting of corners where language is concerned. It's the pedant in me
yay, atropos!
Congratulations atropos on fireworks! Good for you!
nrk, i will check your blog - were you here when stid said she'd started one too?
re4 get up
ri 6/18 = those who get out of bed, perhaps
???
nope, but I know she has one
mistake, sorry, re4 re plural
hetty, I break the rules and cut the corners all the time if it makes the clue work better ... for instance, yesterday, "anomy" was easier to clue as a bad misspelling of someone who is not your friend
MayneGirl, one re 4 is the beginning of a candy re**** peanutbutter cup and the other is same word minus second e and replace with another vowel.
ty min - never heard of that word before
Does anyone have a clue for the ru 6/21 word please
oh, did anyone see helenkeller today -- was she able to use an icon with Alan Rickman in a squirrel suit?
min, someone who is ru6/27 before it
I noticed that, and I winced--I recall writing abut the latin for law--but a literary term I find particularly hard to grant licence about. Mea culpa.
well hetty, everyone gives and understands clues in their own way I suppose
sorry to offend hetty - but anything that works!!
Thanks nrkii. That was for ru 6/27, I need a ru 6/21.
and ru 7/36
so 6/7 combo?
so many of these words are new to me
what you use to measure, then add singular pronoun
the ones that make me wince are the ones that say (for instance, to clue the word tree) "it rhymes with free"
ru 7/36 is the plural of ru 6/25 MayneGirl. Just got it
