Owww, nice icon stid!
thanks sprite. it's my default for when I am too lazy to do the theme...
You have been in so many grids lately, it is only fitting :)
hi all, i hope this one is easier that yesterday's
za 7/48
Hi Beast, at least it seems to go faster
times up 59 651

za6/33 crazies and za 7/48 craziest
Nice one....any clues on the z's
well gotta go, hopefully will have enough time to finish tomorrow
cy
Bye!
ty MG
Well, here I am with a Declaration of Independence. I refuse to be totally addicted to this game so I actually watched some TV and told myself not to care if I missed the flip. I didn't finish and I didn't care - the grid was too big for someone who is slow and has a life. And 205 will be too many for tomorrow too. So there. <VBG>
Now THAT is character, jillibus! I am impressed! *hug*
Good for you, jilli - I'm waiting for the new season to declare my independence - unless *gasp* I'm too far gone already
YAY Jill! Me too! i did not care about finishing yesterday, nor this one either. {{{hug}}}
w7/56
Hey, I have been away for a week, no computer, and I didn't go cold turkey. Did not even miss it that much. I HAVE proven I am independant :)
way to go sprite!
d 7/44
I miss it when I can't get a small "fix" at least every other day -- not the grid, the chat!
Hehehe, yes, the chat can be addictive too.
uh, yes, that's why I'm here :D
I can quit babble if I want to ....anytime you know......I just don't want to
Evanadine is almost in this grid
that's why there is no babblers anonymous. no one wants to quit!!
I now have 4 words I didn't even try for -- thanks all you typers in the wrong box *smirk*
Lol!
*pats Kahlua on pointy green head* yes, dear, that's right... *motions to men with white jackets...*
LOL Stidmama!
hi! i actually went out this evening - coffee & strolling the CWRU campus with friends.
Hahahaha
WTG melon!
ooh melon! like real human friends? *cocks head on side inquisitively* what is that like?
well, yeah you have to talk instead of typing - it was a real stretch!
It's ridiculous how I will sit for hours working on this silly grid!
Life is an illusion
hm. *moves jaw and lips experimentally* I think I remember what that was like...
ooooh very deep jilli :)
Oh, must get an appropriate icon for Aussie Fathers' Day..bbl
Now now now, Mayne, what is ridiculous about that?
heya
Sw7/56, P7/44
Til 2 in the morning, sprite?
I also will sit for hours....GD mom for getting me into this
sn7/32
Wa7/44
Yes Mayne?
Oh poor wee Kahlua - no mind of her own!
okay, it' about 10:30 pm here and I have over 40 words already. Nice to see you sprite, and see you-all later!
And Av7/40
Other half is very singleminded! Hard to chat and type words at same time.
See you, stid *hug*
way to go IBB be focused
That's intentionally, Mayne. We try to lure people to the chatbox and hope for an occasional goodie from the wordlist :)
Nite Stid - I am going to give this 15 more minutes.
yeah right MG
Isn't time for you to be in bed, Kahlua *where are those men in white jackets*
divide
phantom word
heheh that was for you sprite
LOL!
Kahlua - nasty!
*giggle *
I did try that, though I knew it wasn't there :)
Sn7/32. Got all the 7s! Now that's a first :)
vine
Very nice, sprite - I have one!

hello fellow babblers!
woops - like noone had that one....

Darn, I already had that one!
Hey debbinla!
Not a word, don't bother!
I will NOT try that, Mayne
love you IBB and MG night
Nitey nite Kahlua *hugs and ulululu!*
Sprite - I'm missing one of the 7's.. I got av7/40, in7/48 and in7/44, pe/7/44, sn7/32, sw7/48, sw7/56, wa7/44, wa7/56 and za7/48...

Of COURSE he is a boy. You can see that right away. *tries to look as if she did not make that same mistake only 2 days ago*
lol - he is wearing blue
i told him deb, but i don't think he cares. he's sleeping on me.

Awww, that is so sweet. Such a special feeling, if they fall asleep on top of you.

makes typing harder though
Nag, nag, nag, Roc ;)
and then i think my feet are falling asleep. is that the special feeling you mean?
pins and needles are kinda special i guess
It is a start, Roc :)
Here, roc *holds out arms for a Kyle cuddle*

Oh Helen that's too good!!!!!
omg... no wonder I was dazzled, lol.
Oh, there's my unfavourite word - waze. As in "a waze to go", it's a long waze from here"...
a most unbelievable & most hoped for development sprite - good vs. evil & good triumphs
Yes well, Erika is going bye bye and she knows it...
i am sooooo happy for her!
good vs evil in big brother?
Well, I don't have the gene for reality tv, but if good triumphs, I am all for it :)
And hi sylvia

yep still here - alternating bet. here & bb
will is all nice & sweet to janie - erika is sitting in kitchen looking gloomy, & boog is ranting about how pissed he is
Helen, do you have IM? either yahoo or MSN?
chic- the comp was something with pictures, pools of water, buzzers, & fishing hooks, erika is saying her hook broke - i hope they don't have to redo it
boogie is bucking for an academy award..LOL
no chic- sorry - my computer skills only extend to e-mail & chat :)
oh wait, i think i saw this show the other day! there was a comp with people dressed as bees and flowers? and they were trying to earn things for the next week or something. ive only seen the first ever big brother US episode and that, if that was big brother ;p
you should check it out, it's user friendly stuff and fun esp Yahoo IM...
yep - scv - this one is called bb all-stars (hahaha)
ah ha!
i didnt know they had challenges like that.
jani is rubbing it in now - took a shower, put pov around neck again & now put on her tiara, lol -btw, erika looking green
Okay, now I just have to ask. What is pov?
what is pov other than point of view?
Now point of view I know...
Morning all! There looks to be a certain excess of mortality in this grid?
that just makes my day so much better, helen. I'm lovin' it!!!
pair of vases??
True, Sue!
hello sue
POV is Power of Veto..
Hi Sue!!
halfway - & 8 out of 11 7s - still stumped on the av. distracted by "Wag the Dog" on the late show.

Hi Jill!
Aha... and what... ah, never mind, lol.

Oh sue!! Hope you're taking care of yourself!

Err mrP... arrrggghhhhh does NOT start av...
LOL! sorry, I am brain dead!

melon, that is a strange combo. Think numeral and insert that 2nd letter.
morning all, how is this grid?
also wa 7/44
Wa7/44 is most Wa4/8
Morning everybody. This grid is trickier than it looked at first glance and rather morbid in parts.

hi fran!
hi fran - that IS hard to believe!
you didn't fran - neither did i - i had 7 left
i had 11 left, just when it seemed i would be able to finish, my daughter threw a tantrum.
I didn't finish but I never intended to, and that goes for this one too - lots of other things to do tomorrow
it was my fault of course, i decided to play scrabble with 87 words left and then didn't get back to babble until just an hour before the flip!
Just got over the half way mark yesterday - but thats always my target so Iwas pleased.
fireworks ay
yay Roc!!!
congrats roc!
YAY roc!!!!

That's a lovely way to look at it
evaded
And now I blunder - sorry
mornin'
Good morning all.
how's everybody progressing on the grid today?
Morning Haz
don't worry spellit - thanks - don't forget the extra
Morning Hazel - grey skies, drizzling rain, it's September in UK!
Isn't it awful? I always hope for an Indian summer....
hath
Next week is supposed to be good I think - if you can believe weather forecast
I can't believe I did it again - I had better stop chatting
yeah just in time for the kids to come back...goody..*sigh*
We'll see what happens. It's too soon to bring out the winter clothes!
Can't help thinking we.d be better with a bit of seaweed.
lol, you keep looking for that one too?
It does look brighter to the West here in Wilts which is where our weather usually comes from
Further west in Cornwall its awful.
Oh dear!
Halfway so time for coffee - bbl
This is the last weekend of the very busy holiday season so we always hope for good weather when we locals can enjoy it!
Done it - thats half way my daily target, just in time to get ready for church. Spellit I'll keep you and your wife in my prayers.
Bye JFB.
Time for me to go as well. I'll be back later.
bye, have lovely days
FINALLY all the sevens down
way to go
Errrrrrr, that is, all the se 6/27s down :D
I just made the half way mark on the grid
still, it's a goal reached ;o)
I'm only barely over halfway; I've been obseessing over the big words instead of going for quantity
how did you know how many se6/27s there were?
I used Lickety's List. Check down at the bottom of the page under "Friends of Babble"; it's a great guide
hello all
I have that page up, but still have only the info from yesterday showing up... today's grid, but yesterday's clues
hi lynx
metal: click on the link to B.Anon. below for BJ's list or go to Lickety's Babble Clues below..
Oh, I'm sorry, I answered the wrong question. The number of words per number and other tile stats show up when you become a paid member
Lickety's page updates only when Lickety gets around to it, and sometimes he slips up; the stats here update with the flip
BJ's list is current.
ive got licketys list and its todays
thank you for the info, where on B.Anon do I find BJ's list?
Morning all This is not as easy as it first looeked, even with all the pl!
hi, FMitch!
Babbler's Anonymous
Go to General and then Stats
ty
This game has expended my vocabulary by leaps and bounds
Hi Aloy or should I say evening?
very early morning here. (-:
you babble addict you!
early morning here too... a quarter to 4
yup!
..but let not the pot call the kettle black.. (-:
touche!! lol
Well I am stuck at 169, there are some strange words and they ate taking their toll on me
maybe i could help a bit... i have 51 left
Thanks for that but I don't know what I am missing yet, will have a look at the list shortly.
me too.. I am just now starting the top of BJ's to see an overview of what I am missing
One of the wierder words I have found is the se6 7 combo, have you stumbled over them yet?
sorry that should be sw not se combo
no, I haven't.. am looking at H's.. ty for the info..
only have one sw7 so far
Seem I have lost my ability to type coherently all of a sudden - What I should have typed was "sw 6&7 combo. God help me if anyone needs a clue :)
hi everyone...
have you had your coffa cuppee yet, FMitch?
hi spanky
lo, spanky
hey mitch ..can i put you to the test?..do you have the ae6/21?
couldn't sleep, so I thought I would start the puzzle!
Hi rolin ae6/21 = ae + d4/5 love your icon
thx...yet another sunset...this on was taken whn we were put on an island with champagne and canapes..and we were there specifically to take pics of the sunset...idyllic
ty, FMitch.. i needed that one !
oh rolin that sounds utterly blissful Hi lynxxx and Spanky
hello FM - and thanks for the ae!
and ofcourse the boat in the pic..is the one we were sailing on... earlier that evening a whale swam in ..not 30 metres off the beach...it was amazing..but the light was such that i couldnt get a decent pic of it
hi rolin - what island is this on? 'snap' is gorgeous
i only have 2 a's left...the av5/16 and 7/40
lynxxx..is in the whitsundays...it was blue peral island.. between whitehaven and hayman
blue pearl..
av 5/16 not odd
m3...great bear...lol
av5 - think pl of the black birds at The Tower of London but knock off the 1st letter
yw lol x
and then add a 'd' instead - !
thanks FMitch
and thanks lynxxx
thats true lynxxx The av 7 takes the av5 as it's root, just play around with endings
got them...off to get some washing on
thanks mitch x
Oopps gone 10am time for me to be off too. Happy Babbling.
bye, FMitch..
bye.
bye FM
anyone got clue to va 6/30 please?
Don't bother, just found it :)
past tense of what holds wine, hydra
Thanks anyway, Aloyisius!
you just needed to ask, and then you found it.. happens all the time.. yw
I'm not up to the v words really, I've only polished off the a to d words. Just felt like a change.
just curious... but do any of you use a particular system when you start a grid? I mean, do you try to do one from each block or one of each letter or all in one corner....?
i do random words and then try and focus on a letter and find all those words. I am not sure one system always works all the time.
metal, I work the grid first, from the top left to the bottom right.. then after my brain is drained, I work alphabetically; I think everyone has their own modus operandi
I have no system. I look at it, get as many as I can, try to find unusuaol ones like z's, then consult brandy's list.
I usually go for whatever catches my eye first, then try to find what I can letter by letter
.. whatever works is hunkie dory
I've found words i never knew existed, it's neat to look them up, especially the obscure or arcane ones
yup, weird words abound..
I look for vowel combinations ea ie ee etc
sorry to be such a chatterbox... but is anyone else having trouble with Lickety's page? I have today's grid there, but in the clue list I still see some of the words i entered yesterday. I've tried unchecking the boxes, erasing the words, closing the tab.... any suggestions?
metal, I use BJ's whenever possible.. so I am no help there..
Problem about looking up words is when there's no definition. I get really frustrated at that.
Evening all. metaleather, sometimes Lickety's takes a while to renew for the day.
sorry metal - I use Lickety but don't enter into it so I am no help either . Maybe refresh?
Hello Angeb
I had a word like that a moment ago.... it showed up, but I was stumped to see no definition
Hi lynxxx
refresh doesn't seem to work either.
thanks anyway, I was just wondering if I was the sole afflictee
I've just checked. It's loaded up OK with me.
ty Angb, maybe it's a cookie problem here on my computer
sometimes emptying your cache of cookies helps with licketys list
ahhh well, lol
I'll try that now
am stuck on the de6.24 which precedes the de4.8.. can anyone point me in the right direction?
It's French. De + French for 'in' (I think). Or a man's name in the plural.
hi all!
Hi fran
The man's name has a judo expertise connection.
hi ang!
ty hydra... i will ponder that.. i wish i knew some french..
thx hydra
hi Fran
hi fran.
hi lynxxx!
that french for in isn't it hydra?
hi aloyisius!
how's the grid going for everyone?
Think of ---te's Inferno, Aloyisius. And yes, Angb!
Tamagotchi alert - a son hasn't put one to sleep - hunt will now go on!
OK just over half way but not rushing
that did it hydra.. ty so much.

Hi spanky.
Found the tamagotchi - did first aid. Anyone know how to pause them?
i have to go now. I am getting tired, so I need to see if I can get back to sleep. Have fun with the puzzle.
happy snoozing, spanky... angb, i don't know what a tamagotchi is..
on my kids tamagotchis u hold the 2 outer buttons together and it pauses the handset ang
'night spanky, snore some for me too
night spanky
Thank you sha - I tried waking my 8 year old up - its nearly 10 pm here - he was like a drunk man. Now paused!
yw ang
Aloyisuis - it's a virtual child! Which poos, needs feeding, etc etc. And beeps when you don't do it, and dies if you starve it.
ty for the info angb.. i remember seeing something about it now on tv.. when it "dies", can it be recharged to live again?
yes aloy the aim of the game is to get it as old as u can before it dies
Yes aloyisiuis. Thank goodness. But only after many tears from my boys - it's never the same child you see - they have different names, and genders. And they have babies - They even connect with other tamagotchis and make friends.
aah. is it adult friendly or do just the kids play with it? what age range ?
its addictive aloy i look after my kids ones when there at school
i guess you have to take them on vacation, then?
Our kids take them to school. One of the boys - not mine - has four.
bbl... need to give the old dog a pill..

morning Judy - its OK
later, angb.. and howdy CJ.. interesting grid with all the plurals.. and some weirdo words to boot
good morning Judy. It's difficult for me, but that's not at all unusual. the grid has a bit of a morbid cast to it
Well, let's see what I can do with it. *dives into grid*
bbl - dinnertime! - 58 to go here
cu later lynxxx

There are some very strange 7's

It's the most that an adjective can be - big, adjective, bigger, comparative, biggest, superlative.

and then there are most of the variations under the ds's for our mortality
Yes, I was starting to feel a little morbid.
I found all those d's first - most depressing!

It is, Haz!
So do I, but the body count!!! The fun is deciding who is going to make it through to the end.
There's a new series coming on. I wouldn't think there are anyone in the villages left to be murdered.
House prices would be nice and low though

anybody? there's a word that is most definitely a word that isn't being found in the dictionary. I'm wondering if this is some kind of bug on my end or if the dictionary is a little wacky on this one. At any rate, de/6 meaning delightful.
sorry have not found any so's yet
greenery - Babble uses the Enable dictionary & if it isn't in there babble won't accept it. Therefore some very odd things are ok & perfectly sensible ones aren't!
greenery, you must not have seen my answer lower down. The dictionary is most definitely wacky. :)
hey all-- any clues for these av 5 and 7 words you speak of? thanks!

you dont mean the de that was involved with Hugh Grant do you Greenery!!!
can anyone help me with the in7's ? i dont have either... please
greenery, it's not in here...unless that's what one of the bizarre words means
AngelSong says at her site: Some words that "are" real words will not be included in the Enable Dictionary, and other (sometimes "adult" or very strange) words you've never heard of will be there. It's all a part of the fun of Babble, so don't get stressed by it. Relax and just go with the flow and have fun.
yes, that's the one
sorry, greenery, i misunderstood. I don't have the word (I think) you're trying to enter. I think it's a di word, usually.
thats spelled di greenery
debb, it's what an army does to another country
you spell your word di I think not de!!

i wasn't being sarcastic, I'm just trying to figure it out . . . hope that wasn't offensive :)
lol greenery, np . . . i always enter phantom words at least two or three times a day ;)
