Morning all! This one looks awful - I can't believe there's 58 words there, nevermind 158. Is it as bad as it looks?
ooooohhhh yeessss, chic - sounds interesting -*leer*
hi Sue
Yea, lots of names in the grid. Some valid, some not.
they're sneaky words, sue
hi sue - uh, i'm getting stuck here at 43
I hate to be a downer, Sue, but yes it is awful
hi sue - no e, no s...
Omar?
almost none of them build on each other--all unique
hi sue
43? That looks brilliant to me!
pshaw - brick wall
celebes buffalo here of course
Oh, sigh. This is going to be a bad one, but I can't not do it...
This is a brilliant grid, Sue. You must do it!

K's are done...
It's a clever little grid, Sue.

I don't have a single friggin' k yet. I'm stuck at 49
chic are you flying solo or using a list?
2 k's outta 52
I only have 24 words, always a slow starter
this grid is not too bad since mostly 4 letter words..
34 words found here.
I"m just past the 1/3 mark with 53 found here and I"ve hit that darned ol' brick wall
37 now.
metal - good for you! Keep on!!

Sorry!
Yes, I'm at 53 and I'm starting to think they're lying about the last 105

yes friends, indeed, sprite....
Nice one, jilli! (((chic))) I am glad :) Will bother you for the missing Ks once I start banging my head against the wall... LOL helen!
okay, sprite!
I sincerely think that a kloaco is the dyslectic backside of a bird.
:)
lol sprite!
i think the cloaca is part of a frog's insides - from hs biology dissection - tried NOT to pay attention
not just a frog's
argh, so terrible, having to dissect animals at school... or anywhere.
yours and mine, too
isnt the cloaca the outer part of reptilian sexual organs?
i can see the importance of that if you are going to specialize in medicine - human or vet, otherwise, simple plastic forms would be much better
sprite i finally refused in College to dissect anything
ah - taz paid way more attention than i did, lol
just an animla planet junkie her elol
we all all right: 1. Zoology. a. the common cavity into which the intestinal, urinary, and generative canals open in birds, reptiles, amphibians, many fishes, and certain mammals. b. a similar cavity in invertebrates. 2. a sewer, esp. an ancient sewer.
i think its even on a chicken the cloaca
nice science lesson sprite
*replace one 'all' with 'are' at your own convenience
taz, I can imagine. I am with helen for doctors, especially those that have to cut people later on, but otherwise, why not respect animals a little more?
well sprite in a more realistic sense they have cadavers and parts to cut
now there is virtual practice
I have visited such a place where the bodies are of people who chose to donate their bodies to science. Fascinating in a way, but still, it takes a lot of getting used to.
anyone have that first r the 0/1 r? second column of tile stats
why sprite?
well it took me a long to time to adjust to animals like we had to for instance dissect a baby pig look for nerves etc
no taz, I don't. I have been looking for it tho...
why what, helen?
why did you visit such a place?
sorry taz - i don't have it

thanks for that ra7 :)
did you all see the plasticization exhibit - where the guy took real cadavers & injected them with a some type of plastic & then peeled away various layers - it was amazing - i kept thinking about how useful this would have been to everyone who ever had any type of medical training
i heard about that hk but did not see it
to see the circulatory system stand alone by itself - awesome
I did not see it, but heard of it, of course. Incredible project.
there is supposed to be another, newer version coming here, to the museum of science & industry, soon
helen was telling the other babblers i just got from wash dc and got to see the holocaust museum
Hi, everyone..How are you to/day/nite?
i think he crosses a line by turning some of them into 'art forms' abnormally elongatingexaggerating various areas - some people objected to the fetal section
helen was just near there today had to go to the univ of chicago

k 4/8 add different vowel on the end
ka 4/9 ka+ "Live and Let **e"; ka 5/24 ka+ ***t something heavy; kh 5/22 same as ka 4/9 only with an "h" thrown in; kh 6/42 smae as ka 5/24, only with "H" thrown in: kh 4- "Wrath of Kh**"; ko 4/8 sounds like ends of Coca-???? only spelled diff; ko 4/8 rhymes with "polo"; kr 5/18 something like what's around the sun during an eclipse.
I would love a clue for the last K, chic! I have kax2, khx3, kn, ko, kr. Can you tell me which one I am missing?

Well done Grim. I am not using list as yet so don't know what I need LOL.
ok bye all
Good morning all. Just logged in so will have to find a word worthy of icon status.
See ya
hi haz
Hello Atalante - how are you?
Morning Haz and Atalante
hi haz ata grim :)
hi fmitch
mornin babblers
Hey marso Better grid today :)
it is :)
hi jonny
It's like the gathering of the clans! Morning FMitch, marso, jonny etc.
lol
I was commenting earlier on the lack of any e's or s today but I am glad, otherwise it would be a huge grid rather than a mangeable one.
Yes, those mangeable ones bring me out in a rash!
sounds unpleasant!
How did you get on yesterday, did you finish?
Yes, it turned out to be not as bad as I feared. I did it in Lickety's and then transferred it over. It has the advantage of focusing the mind!
Oh well done :)
It's what I should have done on Sunday past!
lol would have saved a few grey hairs!
And things thrown at the screen!
Going to fetch an icon....
Got to go for a little while, back soon.
hopefully one day spaniel will be in the grid then we can keep our Spangle and Hobbit pics!
That would be fun! However, I'm changed now, for better or worse.
I'm trying to decide what to change to
There are quite a few to choose from!
being picky!
I know - it's getting one that isn't too obvious, but fun at the same time.
I had thought of doing Steve Cr4/6 but it would be lost on the Americans!
And would Imran Kh4/9 be equally unrecognisable?
done
but I like the idea of Imran Kh** more!
Someting to do with skin......
thankz for the words Haz
jonny - you're welcome - change round Imran to get an Egyptian thing an4/9.
I had to choose the singular of the word as the plural is a very well-known tennis player
Singular tennis player......
co5/12 and I'm sorry but I had to change to Imran ...
Wow!
hi all!
hi Fran
Hello FranMag!
hi fran!
you're right haz, your first choice would have been lost on us Americans! at least lost on me! :-)
hi jonny, haz and ata!
today is educate Americans about Imran Kh** day LOL
just got here, but wanted to get my icon up before i said hi!
I think the females will be glad to be educated about Imran!
i'm still seeing your skin icon ata, but i can't wait for it to update now
come on Imran!
ooh, i just found fi4/11 and the perfect icon would be the king from the wizard of id comic strip.
hey rolin's in the grid!
and rolin is one letter away from a 5/12 fishy. proper swimming in the sea fishy
And so is Mr Powell (not Enoch)
not that it matters since i started already, but how's the grid so far?
I think it's fun. There aren't many sequences going but there are some good words.
slow, but ok and don't tell me ok is in the grid, Haz! *grins*
And the saving grace is that it's not a huge total.
We'll let you off this time!
ata, are you typing words in the chat again? :-)
Fran - are you seeing Imran yet?
only 2 letter ones!
no, let me trying clearing my cache. the problem is AOL doesn't update its server caches that often. brb
You'll find him worth clearing out your cache...
definitely
okay, clearing the caches didn't work, but i did an image search of my own. a very good-looking man!
Oh ata - that icon makes me feel all ca 6/21.
hi angb!
I'm hoping that nobody finds an icon to illustrate ca6/21 or we'll be taken off the air.....
Hi fran - nice food icon - no idea what it is - custard isn't it?
lol haz!
pretty, isn't he!
yes, but it goes by it's spanish/filipino name in the grid.
i wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers.
Did anyone see the cricket match in NZ where he took his shirt off on the field. My cricketing highlight of all time!
I'm getting all hot and bothered just thinking about it.
ah, so he's a cricket player, must be why i've never seen him before.
LOL his biography was definitely the best cricketing book ever!
As long as it has plenty of pictures I might "read" it Ata
LOTS of pics!
Yummy! Forget the spanish custard!
Better get back to the grid - getting too excited.
am watching NZ cricket right at this moment, Angb
angb, the spanish custard is fl4/7, that should bring you back down to earth.
My dad said it was on - we beat South Africa. Wierd!!!! They are playing Sri Lanka aren't they? Hate NH games - never see them during the night.
Imran and custard ... that does *not* bring one back to earth!
And someone beat Aussie. Yippee.
Sri Lanka yes. They've just started batting. NZ I mean. Lovely Stephen Fleming is out there
Back in a bit.
Now he's not bad ... we have got the odd good looker on our team.
see ya soon haz
Fleming's out. pah. Adam Parore was good looking. But I do have a soft spot for Stephen Fleming for some reason!
For a bit of ca 6/21 viewing I like rugby. Heavily into watching scrums. Fleming's out ... typical. One good knock and he's done his dash for the season. Fleming is the archetypal cricketer. Very polite, very staid and sometimes plays well.
lol yes very true! But he's cute as well, which is *not* archetypal cricketer :P
brb
Ata have you a clue for the 2nd ca 6/21. Can't get past the first!
just monkeyed it for you! christmas song + vowel
Thought I had tried all of those. You better take imran off - affecting my concentration.
thanks ata! changed my icon.
oh no! Imran's staying exactly where he is!
Back from my foray into the outside world.
hi fmitch!
Evening Fran
Geez fran just got the spanish custard. I thought that word was a fruit pie!
see angb, you learn something new every day here!
I know ... may inspire me. Seeing that life is quieting down a bit I thought I might bake. It's a "see kids you have a mother" thing. Won't last for long though.
funny ang!
Real though - I usually only bake in February, at the start of the work year.
thanks for yr icon clue Fran, got that and added another letter to the end for a f5
yw fmitch, i got confused because i just changed my icon to another f4 that can't be extended as far as i can tell.
lol just realised that the f5 is Angb's icon.
A bit obscure isn't it!
That's the fun of the search.
congratulations on finishing yr Masters too AngB.
i like your double clue angb!
hi lynxxx!
Hello everyone
hi lynxxx
Thanks lynxxx. It's taken a while. I am hoping the relief kicks in soon.
i'll be back in a bit
Yes, well done Ang. Hi lynxxx
I am off to have a read. Running out of steam and I have a book that is a bit of a struggle. Unfortunately I always finish every book I start!
Thanks FMitch.
see you back soon then Ang!
good luck Ang!
Tomorrow some time probably. The book tends to put me to sleep.
Hi Jonny! Hello FM
my monkeys fingers are getting sore anybody got a clue for kh6/42?
knon
sorry everyone
got it - now how to clue
kh6 - the civil and religious leader of a Muslim state considered to be a representative of Allah on earth
Tkh6.42 usually starts with a 'c'. I think its a middle eastern official/ruler type. ends in the first 3 letters of the opposite of death
and mentioned in Rock the Casbah
Wasn't a bad guess FM was it
thank you lynxxx and FM your lifesavers!!!!
lol lynxxx good guess and clue too.
OMG! I LOVE the ra7/56
that has to be the best word we've ever had on babble
Isn't it great Ata, didn't realise the 2nd part of it was a real word!!!
didnt realise the whole word was a real word!
tell me nothing more than it is a compound - ?
lol true.
It is a compound lynxxx
what do you all mean by "compound"
2 words added together to make another like breakfast
nosebag - would be one word in babble - normally 2 words - happens a lot here esp the long words
found it!
Well done! great word eh?
will be back later. have to go and have a blood test. oh joy.
this is the first time I've played Babble without an "e"
haven't heard that for about 20 years! do you want a little hint jonny?
eww - see you later Atal
Bye Ata It all adds to the entertainment bichon.
Hi Bichon.
hi lynxxx
iron
good morning everyone. Is it just me, or is this a hard one?
TY
Hi Eva - think it might be
Dr_G is making us work again Eva.
h
does the ra7 begin with the 3 letter animal?
yes it does Eva
yes Eva - its an insult
thanks
morning all
obviously not one I've ever used(-{ Have to keep searching
hi kthdsn
Morning kth
hi all!
thanks for that ra7!
got the ra7, li7 whats the 3rd 7 anyone?
eva, the second part of it is my icon clue
sorry went away for a bit wat is a compound word please
jonny, compound word is made up of two other words that can stand on their own.
scroll back in the log jonny to 5.00
just scroll down this page jonny
ok thank you all of you
still don't get it fran....mind has gone into a stupor here
eva, rodent + "the king is a ****!" (from wizard of id comic strip)
Got it! I was using the wrong ra the whole time, and the wrong animal-one with horns instead of the rodent!
told you I was in a stupor
well that wouldn't work eva! :-)
i dont have an id comic strip in britain an other clues for it fran
rhymes with a ki** in a wire or ki**y hair.
jonny-if you start with the rodent, and then add a tattletale
got the ra7, li7 whats the 3rd 7 anyone?
i don't know fmitch
clue for the li7?
thanks anyway Fran
BRB
ty fran and eva
yw jonny!
Please tell me I'm not the only one who's struggling today!
I'm barely making it past 60 words (that got! not to go!)
i'm at 75, slow going for sure.
I've got 41
im only at 38
All the words I want to try have Es in :(
there is a welter of 4 letter f words which are easy to find
good morning all. A little fearsome grid today reading the chat log...
hi ch! yes, it's a tough one
mornin ch
71 left, going to get to bed and finish this thing tomorrow with the list! good night all!
'night, franMag
bye fran
'nite fran sleep well
bye Fran
back soon - short break before I give up all logic and just monkey every 4 letters combos I can see - only got half of them - how hard can they be!
lots of unusual ones ... I've been at this for almost 15 minutes and only have 57 words... usually I'm hitting about 100. Not looking good!
good evening all
good morning everyone and night
ji jean
I mean 'hi'
oooops hit the enter button too soon meant to say night to Fran
jean, is your icon a clue too?
ch12, I've been at this for about 15 hours and only have 70 words !!!!!!
in what way ch
Andree as soon as I typed that in I realized again that everyone goes at their own pace, and some folks may have 150 in 15 minutes and some folks may have 25 in 15 minutes ... :)
ch I'm lucky to get 25 in 15 minutes lol
jean, on Fridays many of us use our icons as a clue to a word in the grid. So for example, I picked my icon today to be a clue for the ac5/12.
I have been coming back all afternoon to get a few words in, babysitting mr 3 and miss 5 months for weekend, finding it a very hard grid
And for the first several months I babbled, I strugged mightily every day. Now it's a lot easier for about the first 60-70% of the grid, then comes the struggle. People like Sprite and Haz just sail through!
la4/9 please
Today will definitely be a day when I break out the grid early! Andree -- uses the big scoring letter
It would confuse me ch1212 it took me long enough to load the first icon rofl
la4/9 - la + 2 different consonants
Hi All this is a hard grid today only got 27 word in 30mins
hello rosalind
hi rosalind!
thx ch12, sure I tried that 10 times!!!!
me too, Andree!
okay, I'm officially stuck, with 91 left to go. Time to break out the list.
think I will too
Any clues for the 7s, I have the ra
wow, kthdsn -- I have no 7's yet... care to share a clue for your ra? :)
It's ra7, starts with a rodent, followed by f4/11
thanks!!
anyone got a clue for the li7 please?!
there a nice lot of lo words heading down to bottom left and up to rght as well
just found the li7 = li4/4 + to sever
ty cathy
nice one cathy TY
anyone know what the other 7 starts with?
thanks!
there is an fl7 which I don't have yet
TY cathy
I just hit the half way point,79 done, 79 to go
good for you, kth!
the monkey did most of it though!
fl7/44 - what would happen if you dropped an orange onto the floor.
have to go shower and get ready to go out -- bbl
bye ch12
fl7 is an odd one = sounds like combination of surface on which you walk + ending of "apple, banana, etc". Sorry if this is bizarre, but don't know how else to clue it
ty cathy I got it
Good grief....who uses such a word???
me too - there is another fl*** and fauna one as well
been trying to work out how to clue that
ty cathy
thnx lynxx, didn't have that one :)
moac
xsorry my monkey is misbehaving
lyn you could have slipped up with a real word lol
bye for noe be on later
cya jonny
me too ... time for work. happy babbling, guys
I'm am getting lots just by entering 4 letter combos working around the grid - even though they seem stupid
same here lyn, I'm running out of things to try and I still have 36 4s to find
26 for me to find
Happy Friday all... a**** rainy morning here , ac5.14
Hi Aloy
ty aloy for the clue
Hi Aloy
hi aloy
Good morning all. I'm going to wish there is a e today aren't I?
quite probably musicmom, I know I do
yes you are and Hi
sad sad sad. THe only day this week I get to play and there is no e and no s.
There are still lots of good words to find musicmom, it's just a metter of digging them out :)
ka + british elevator minus tee...a oslem leader
well sounds like a good excuse to just sit in my chair all day - it's rainy and dark - not a good day for housework<G>
Bonkler -- add an h in their for a 6 letter word
there, that is
Just updated my icon to a clue.....this grid doesn't lend itself to icon clues very well, does it?
cheers arb
Good morning everybody. I've been searching for an icon, for about an hour. Finally found one.......
pida, that is a very nice icon... helps to find the li7!
thnx Aloy, I had to stay with my tree theme somehow
Fireworks.
Bravo, ARB!
WTG !!!! ARB
well done arb
Congrats ARB - first fireworks I have seen tonite
Can I give any help?
Hey Everyone - Can I be of some help?
ARB, thanks for the offer. Do you do cleaning?
yay arb, hi lickety
Found my icon for today
lickety, you've done enough w/your Great site. Thanks
Or ironing?
hi, lickety.. arb, I have cat paw prints all over my car if you are available...
Lickety, you are always a great help.
I don't do Windows -- an inside computer professional joke
lol, arb!
tr6/21 please
tr 6 -- tr + 4th vowel + vehicle
anyone ever taken a long road trip with a cat? How do you manage the rest stops? Put the cat on a leash? ty, ARB, I needed that one!
Hi all. Oh, I love ra7/56! I only entered it for fun and it's a word.:)
thx arb
that one made me smile, too Jacula
Thank you everyone so much - you are definitely the best of the best on the internet! Really!
you in the COtswolds, Jac! I'll be there next week too :)
you are toolickety
Jacula, it would be more fun if I knew what you were talking about. RA7?
Gramma, how's the weather in northern Vermont? Had to turn on the heat, yet?
Hi all,Aloyisius my cat Ming always travled with me. He would lay next to me when I was driving and he was trained to a leash,he never new what it was to be outside without one.
Musicmom....I can't figure out what you're cluing...any hints?
Wow, jac, I too live in Worcestershire, AND am at the Cotswolds tomorrow!!!! Coincidence!!
Hi Lickety - you are such a fl5.16 saying such sweet things
ARB, we've had the heat on for a month now. It's cold and rainy 8(
ty, hodag.. a leash it is then. My cats have never had a leash on them.. but I see it will be necessary.
why's everyione descending on the Cotswolds!
Hi Ata and spanner - I'm still at home. Will be in The Cotswolds tomorrow.
My daughter in SHelburne is determined to save money -- we may not visit this winter!
whereabouts are you off too? I'll be in Moreton and Cheltenham next week
Ata - It's half-term, that's why. LOL
I am at Stow on the wold in the morning
oh true! forgotten that
mmm nice bookshops in Stow
The cats may fight you a little since this will be new to them. I trained Ming that way from the time he was nine weeks old and he lived that way for 16 years! Good luck
Nice antique shops too!
expensive antique shops!
V V expensive, but I am a window shopper!
yup, I think I will need it.. two days on the road with two cats and a labrador retriever..
never buy antiques in the Cotswolds. see things you like, write the name down and buy them elsewhere at a quarter of the price LOL
I'll be in South Cerney, nr. Cirencester.
who's the pin-up, Atalante?
ooo I like South Cerney. And Cirencester
LOL, I bought a so called antique that I had seen in a shop in stow off e-bay for 72p plus postage!!! HA HA HA
Imran Kh**, ARB
can't seem to see fr5.16: is it a fish?
I would never travel with my cats in a car. The only car journeys they do are to the vet's and they always poo themselves.
The only other thing you can do is put a small litter box in with them and the litter that clumps up so you won't have a mess......LoL
ARB, we turn it off and on. We live in a very old house. It's nice and cool in the summer and nice and cold Sept to May
I have 2 fr5/16's.......both very common
there are 2 Aloy -- a monk; opposite of back
ooh, jac.. I have cat carriers.. but no room in them for a litter box
LOL! the dealers around there really try it on. my bets friend's father has a shop there and he always marks things up 30% for Stow and Bourton, and then adds on more if he hears American or Asian accents
Ata, cant believe that Jemima prefers Hugh Grant LOL
that girl is mad. I know which I'd prefer
oh, man... slap that fish on me ; I was missing the opp of back. ty ARB!
You know the old sayin, if you have to ask the price you cant afford it!!
Al, when my mother moved 30 years ago and could not keep her cat, she put her in my car for me to take home, cat sprayed sh** all over, attacked me while I was driving and when I opened the door took off and was never seen again
it's OK ALoy, took me 20 minutews of monkey typing to find it
Mad and scarily thin
however, there is *one* shop in Stow, mainly jewellery and semi-precious stones, that is *really* good value for money. but its down a back street and no-one ever finds it
good morning!
andree, I am LMAO, but I know you weren't
Andree LOL :)
hey, charm!
boker tov, charm
Hi Charm
Andree, I had a very similar experience. I reccomend sedatives.
Hi, Aloyisius, ARB, hodag!
Duty calls, Im off, everyone have a fun weekend and if you are going enjoy the Cotswolds!!!
you too spanner!
bye spanner
Andree - sounds like my last trip to the vets! Hunting cat stunk the taxi out.:(
are you going sailing Jac? at S Cerney?
'Bye spanner.
I was paranoid after that and would walk carrying my cat to the vet
50 for tomorrow - nite all
Laila Tov Lynn
Ata - I doubt it. Our friends have a chalet there and we are taking P's daughter for a break. She will probably want to spend most of her time in the indoor pool.
Night lynxxx
nite lynxxx
Night lyn.
night lynxxx
Good morning and good night, I'm in the grid again.
too wet for sailing there anyway! Just watch other mad people get cold and wet
you are indeed, Hi an**
off to bed for me, night all, good luck with the trip Al
Ata - sounds like a fun idea.
by all
Hi, Ankhorite.
bye Andree, hodag.
Hi, ARB! I can't stay today, just wanted to give everyone a quick hello. Hi, Charm. :) bye, Hodag.
Hi an**orite, see you're in the grid again
Shame I haven't got a Babble teeshirt. I could wear it in The Cotswolds so other Babblers would know me.:)
nite, Andree...
howdy, FMitch! How are you today? Finished the grid?
nite andree, and good morning to everyone I missed earlier
Hi Aloy Im doing fine thanks and yes just finished. How goes it with you?
hi, pida
hi,
Congrats, FMitch! Pida, where are you in sw Fl?
if you want to venture a bit further out from Ciren, there is the best pub / food place for miles and miles around at Coln St Aldwyns. Its called the New Inn. Olde coaching inn place. *Wonderful* food.
that was for Jac! LOL
Aloy, I'm in the south of Tampa area
Hang on - I see a spanner in the works!
ah.. how's the weather? Am headed to Fl next month and looking forward to it.
Ata - Thanks. I've made a note of it.
Hi, Pida, Aloy, Lickety. "Filk" **is** a word, dagnabbit.
78 degrees, and sunny
wahoo, pida
oh that sounds perfect pida!!
Aloy, where in FL are you visiting?
hi all - how many today please? did you all finish last nights - i caved with about 30 left to find.
I have a place in P.Gorda
trio
158 words. hi sandr
Hello everyone!!!
sorry - i have done it again - am useless
Oh Yeah! What a Grid! Go Girls!
158 sandr and I finished about 10:30pm
hi, Mr. P.
hi mrp!
Mr. P!
don't worry sandr, we all do it. Hi MrP and Lickety!!!
Did you get much damage from the hurricane in o4
Mr P is ratting me out for saying Girls!
just yelling at lickety for not including the guys!!!
yes, we just finished repairs in Feb.. ugh
All guys in the grid say : 'Yaaaaaaeeeeeeh'
This was the best year in ages for storms, knock on wood. Did't even have much of a rainy season
Say 'Yaaaaaaaaaaeehhhhhh'
*lickety's voice echoes round an empty space*
oh no! who let him into the sherry
Come on Guys!
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaeehhhhhhhhhh
Speak up!
Yeah Jonny!
LOL!!!!!
thank goodness, pida.. Fl needs a break. what are we celebrating, lickety?
Life!
yaaaaaaaaaaaeeehhhhhhhhhhh to that!!!
You know that smile that makes one side rise higher that the other?
And the pursuit of Happiness!!!! especially a small grid, finally
I got one right now!
;-)
Side of the mouth - i.e. Wry Smile!
lickety, Australian makes some mighty fine wines!
Tell Mr. P you meant to say "grrls" -- that's okay
ah my little wilderbeast lickety.... !! he is such a joy to have around!!
*me is still confused about MrP and Lickety*
Ankh - They are husband and wife.
Ankhorite - MrP is a Gorgeous Woman - and I married her 10 years ago! We have 2 Kids too!
Ah! I thought, you know, maybe husband and husband.
oh we need to put our pic up lickety!
MrP is acutally a lovely lady and is married to Lickety and they have 2 beautiful children. Lickety is also a little devil and love to tease and play pranks.
LOL!!
FMitch - WHAT - WHERE - WHEN?
hhahahhahahahehhehhehe]
Ah! Well, congrats on the children and the true love and all that!
Oh don't you give me that! you know you are and you love it!!!
Shes is actually sitting almost kissing space away
MrP is a bit of a prankstress also, as her profile is ungendered.
hey you guys!
Yeah, Lickety, Dear One and I sometimes email or IM each other -- from five feet away.
**smoochie smoochie**
Mornin', Evanonut.
Ankorite - I Partners!
kissie kissie!
hi evanout
(((((nut!)))))
(((mrp!)))
LOL, Lickety!
hey evan
NUT! sorry - wrong nut
Arrr - that's better
heh. ankhorite is ALMOST a word today
Ankh - So do me and my Beloved. (IM each other when in same room).
sometimes you feel like a nut...sometimes you don't
it's actually aaaaaaaaaaargh...
sometime I am married to a nut....
All the males in the house say Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh!
Morning nut, still haven't changed your bull**** icon, I see
i believe you mrp
Well, it's amusing, isn't it, Jac? And we email things like dr. appts and other calendar items.
ha ha pida...scanning the grid now for the perfect word to clue
Coffee honey?
sugar sweetie?
good day to everyone!
Oh wait! Nut, that reminds me, I DO have an icon for this occasion! Hold on.
Close that fking door!
why did you start off as mrp, mrp? rather than mrsp?
Hi, abe.
Hi Charm :)
morning abe
hey abe
I am the mental resident president
Morning abe.
hi pida (great icon clue), jonny and Jacula
hi, abe!
you nede to be the Mental ResidentS President :P
hi Aloy, how have you been?
and mrsp looks like marsupial LOL!
okay, hang on...getting that clue up now
ata! in this house, I am!!
good, abe, and you?
lol it does!! mrsp goes *boing*
Aloy- enjoying this rainy Friday!
yup, while the leaves keep falling
Avoid alliteration. Always.
Avoid trendy locutions that sound flaky.
Oookay, here I am. With my clueful icon.
ok nut, guess the clue is Fr*** Tuck?
very appropriate ****orite!
oh pida!! I am reading that wrong!!
Verbs have to agree with their subjects.
Turnips have roots too
Perfect icon clue for you today A***orite
As often as your clue comes up, An**, that should almost be your permanent icon.
o needs rhetorical questions?
Heh! I did it out of admiration for Scrabbler's icon.
Who needs rhetorical questions?
I'm glad y'all like it, thanks much, FMitch, Pida, Abe!
The adverb always follows the verb.
Remember to never split an infinitive.
I tried another version, with a big capital a and a little an** in the point position, instead of the analemma.
msp, what were your reading wrong?
Lickety's got Friday night fever :)
alrighty...up and running...bwa ha ha ha
so Fmitch, we need the gimp suit out for Lickety... did it come back from the dry cleaner??
"Everytime you open your mouth, you prove your an idiot!"
must dash a moment, brb
I read Fr*** Tuck very wrong....sorry
I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it.
I've changed my icon to clue ra7/56.
now someone will get offended lickety ;-))
MrP they are still trying to clean it from last time.
You call that a knife, that ain't no knife
oh is it clue day??
were the brownies nice from whenever the great spelling competition was??
thanks, Jac!
y/w Charm.
oh yes ata!! and we have awesome news too
Why do ducks have webbed feet? To stamp out fires. Why do elephants have flat feet? To stamp out burning ducks.
yay for brownies!
what news?
thanks for the clue Jacula
y/w, abe.
maddison did a literacy test and out of 56,000 students, she came in at the top 5% in the state... she is awesome!!
My daughter got the best grades - We wanted to make her feel so proud of her achievements!
yes, what news??!
hey, tell her i said GREAT JOB!
GO MADDIE!!
Thats brilliant MrP - she must take after her Mother ;) Say well done form me.
thank you all!!
Congrats to all of you, MrP and Lickety
Well done, Maddie.
Maddison is one who has an old sole.
soul!
Opps - that's the brandy!
Why the double d in Maddison?
a smelly old fish? lucky her!
Why the hor in Ankhorite
MR P is about to Puncture me!
oh you are stabbed!!
Unless that's a comment on my morals, the hor is in order to make the an** work... :)
Dear One's sister's daughters have double-cons in their nicknames -- Gabby, Livvy -- but she didn't double-con the full name. One of his colleagues' wives substituted "i" for "y" so her second child's name would sort of tie to the first -- Benjamyn, following Ryan.
Ankhorite - I am embarressed for such a horrible inunendo - and I complete apologise - I did not mean to say that - if was un called for - and I hope you accept this apology cause I really was STUPID!
LOL! Lickety, I was teasing! My morals ARE a scandal.
get that brandy bottle away from him!
We've been living "in sin" for um... 7 years! In one house; two years of courtship before that.
you guys kill me, you are so funny! hello all btw
Hi, GrammaT!
happy friday, grammat
Hi Gramma!
hey gammaT
ty all, happy Friday to you too
and YAY to living in sin!
Hi grammaterri.
heh, Abe, I like it so far.
me too :)
mornin babblers!
NUT!!! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 5TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAH *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~* ~*~*
Hi Evanadine
gramma - Welcome! 14 grandkids? Wow!
ha ha ha, you silly girl mrp...thanks
Good morning/afternoon - back for some more words.
HI Haz
mornin' evan
hi haz, and congrats, mrp!
and haz
yes lickety I am blessed
Nut - Got the candles ready?
Hi Haz.
what candles???
Afternoon Haz
I have the 2 Scottish words from the top left A....can't see the other 2
Hello Jacula, abe, jonny, FMitch! I've been to the dentist, had my teeth cleaned, and now I could light up the street!
jacula -- great icon clue. :)
everyone, nut is 5 years married today!!
*shields eyes against haz's brilliance*
Haz - stop smiling, you're blinding me!;)
Well, congrats, Nut! What anniversary is this? Not paper, but ____?
One is the courtyard, singular.
Put sunglasses on!
Husband home, needs computer....
Congratulations to Nut! and congrats to Haz on her pearly whites!
supposed to be silk ank, but i'm going for gusto...i want jewelry
Happy anniversary Nut!!!
Smile at him and he won't be able to use the PC Haz
tx tx tx all...really, not that hard...just pretend they are a dog and they'll always look cute
the other at refers to upper chambers of the heart
great icon clue, Chiley
LOL, Nut, hope you married money, then! Hmmm.. well, not all jewelry has to be fab expensive.
didn't marry money, have no money, don't need it
LOL nut! what dog would your hubby resemble
a red lab with a big belly
hi all
Ah, that's best, Evanonut.
Hi kthdsn.
Thanks for those ai's ALoy and Haz....I was going blank looking for those
Thanks Abe...this grid is not Icon-friendly
picturing my hubby as a dog.....
rooooof
glad you found them, chiley... that's fireworks for me and I must leave this happy group.. bye, babblers.. see you Sat.!
I'm still stuck on the heart one, thought it was same as the courtyard one. Um, if *I* were a dog, I'd be an Irish Setter, big and dopey and clumsy with hair that never looks brushed. :) But Dear One... I gotta think about that.
By, Alo, have a good Friday!
bye alo
the heart one is the pl of the courtyard, an**
Ank...go down instead of across
An** - go down from the at not across
chiley- it sure isn't. i couldn't t hink of anything good, so i stuck with a four letter clue
'Bye Aloy.
later, Aloy.
hi Kthdsn
bye Aloy and congrats
Thank you, Charm, Chiley, let me try that.
abe - hit the boss key in 5 4 3 2
first 4 letters are the same
Lickety would resemble a english sheep dog with dread locks and a bit of cheeky border collie in the upper eye area... then the legs are abit chicken like... and the ass is all brad pitt.... so we have a real animal here
Lol, Mr. P!
lickety- are you a king... fan?
Ohh Yeah!
it is a very underrated show, "i'll tell you what"
Lickety, you ARE in the grid!!
abe! it is the best show I have seen in a long time!! I love it too
Hello peoples
I hated it for the first year and refused to watch it, then I don't know what happened, but it clicked
Happy Friday y'all
how many words today?
Is it Friday???
who has the grid name for lickety?
Is it Friday???
158 words
mrp- i never catch it anymore, it's on at like 1am. you have to be in the right mind frame to watch it.

thanks, Jac - a 4 letter word and I was just struggling with the points!
have missed afew days of babble due to stomach bays!
thanks lickety!!! :o)
al6,21?
al6/21 = al + vowel + sp for day
should have said bugs!
Just found fl7/44 - It's a new one on me! Must try to use it in everyday conversation.8-/
oodbye
mkl - Welcome to Babble! How long you been here?
Ah was wondering what you meant - hope you're feeling better now MVA
hint, Jac?
Thanks charm
Charm - it means 'the period in which he/she flourished'.
started with my daughter on mon, then me - feel tired but better!
Charm - fl7 - think of apples, oranges etc and add a '** and behold!' into the word.
mkl - ok - been, gone, do it all night!
wow, Jac - truly one of the weirder words. thanks!
Charm - glad you got it! Wasn't sure if the clue would work.
?
mkl, lickety asked you how long have you been on babble?
good mornining everyone
mkl - Hope you get through this grid. I gotta run now - but From one Guy to another - I have to say that it really doesn't matter - Cause it's all good!
Ah. I needed an interpreter. Do you mean today, or in total?
Hi, annie!

Atalante's one for kh4/9 would easily win the prize for the best looking.
Haz, you can try to watch us but we have our very own way to communicate.....
Is she around? Atalante?? If you're here, please pop up so we can take a look!
If she's not here, I'll try to find the picture in question.
co6/21
clue for the in5/16 please
Haz, you are living in a place where I long to visit someday.
msree, think like a photolight --- in*** red
ok, I've changed my boring icon!
oh how adorable is that!!
bless you ch
it's fi4/8 which I'm sure everyone has!
thanks, msree -- I'll take all I can get :) Une where do you find the moving icons?
Okay - refresh for the handsome Mr Kh4/9 - the only reason for watching cricket
*flops down on a couch*
i do an image search on google: animated gif + whatever it is I'm looking for . . .
ch...i love your icon clue, that little guy steals the movie in my eyes
NANCY - do you mean the town or Northern Ireland in general? We love to have visitors!
WOW, Haz ... although he's kind of a humorous icon for your descriptive fl4/11 :D
Thanks, evanonut -- he's the only reason I watched the movie in the first place. The film trailers captured me!
Darn - I haven't changed the clue, back in a mo.
Thanks, Une -- I'll try it.
shmooz, co6/21 ******ry to poplular belief I do know how to type
fL4,11?
great clue msree! thanks
Ah, okay, Haz.
yw, I do try to give back sometimes
Ireland in general....I want to go to England, Ireland, Scotland....that is where my heritage lies.
good evening all...don't think I'll have time to finish this one tonight :( inlaws visiting soon!!!
Me too, Nancy -- I'm 50/50 Scots Irish.
Ireland is great.
Hi, Sapphie, good luck with the visit.
hey ankh!
ty ankh ..see you are in the grid today ;)
*a bit less than half Irish* Hi, Chic! Why yes, Sapphie, I am, and my icon is indeed a clue.
Well, I hope you all make it some day - we take our countryside and old buildings too much for granted.
fl4/11 - term used in warfare for anti-aircraft fire
Time to serve dinner. Have a good day everyone!
Bye Haz
co 6/21?
Hi everyone
hi mymuseisme!
Hello Musc
Muse*

hi ch, leigh!
Night Haz
ty :)
*Bye
the kn has exhausted my monkey - clue please??
oh ursh, to make a sweather
And don't worry about the fish --- that one trapped me for the longest time too!
hello fellow babblers
oh good grief why do i always stick to one spot and never notice it goes the other way ty ty
hi abe
ursh, you do it with 2 needles and yarn
That's why Babble is such a spiritual lesson! It teaches us to look around, observe the wonder of the grid, and recognize all of Dr_God's creation :)
do5/12 - sorrow, think Spanish
*yawn* Okay, I think it's time for me to move on to my next activity. bye everyone.
that some how felt blasphemous
bye leigh
any clues to the co 6/21?
Wasn't intended that way, evanonut -- just one of those "What I learned about Babble" kind of things.
lol...kidding ch...someone had to pretend to be serious
I'll repeat the one I saw posted... co****ry to popular belief
co6/21 - kind of folk dance, Nicaraguan rebel, or against
oh you!
I should know better by now, eva ... you have a wonderful (and wondering) sense of humor - like me!
ty vicuna
wondering or wandering?
both, I suspect :D
fl7?

what does scooby doo eat with eggs?
grid? what grid? all I see is ata's icon......
ra5/12, bichon
can I just say, after the breast cancer theme day, I've decided to Do Something. I've been designing a Celtic knotwork style pink ribbon that I'm going to paint up in watercolour IF it decides to play nicely and sell prints of the picture for cancer charities
um ata, mamabear who is that?
its Imran Kh**, ex-cricketer, Pakistan politician and all round gorgeously pretty boy
What a lovely idea Ata, well done!
great idea ata
what a wonderful and artistic thing to do, ata. Please share the finished work with us and let us all know how to order
thanks pida, got it
I will do :) and Vi, I think you should do the same! (if you've got time and the inclination!)
I thought if I sell them really cheaply, people might spend $5 for a pretty print with the money going straight to cancer charities
Help with al6 please.
al + circle letter + Spanish word for day
that's a great idea, Atalante
Really clever icon, abe79!
TY ch1212!
thanks Ch1212! it's a word I always miss!
ha6/24?
second fr 5/16?
shmooz- thing over an angel + not the ego
extend your ha4/5 before it with a psychological word of 2 letters
ha - angelic ring + ego word
al6 is so easy to miss cos there's no definition for it ...

ok, TNDaisy, here's how stoopid I am: ir4/4 I typed it in and kept asking myself I r**? i r**? before it got it. sigh
morning everyone
kh6 is alt spelling of Islamic spiritual leader
kh 6/42 (clue from someone earlier) half of a color + most of ***e or death
kh 6/42--an arabic letter, I think-- add kh to al4/7

Hi lynxxx
majmom, take your parade vehicle and reverse the last 2 letters
hi and bye lynxx
lol ty Charm...I didn't have that one yet either, but do now!
I'll be back in a while...need to start laundry, make bed, etc. then while all that is working, I can work on this with a clear conscience.
ty gramma was trying to switch wrong word
later Daisy
bye Daisy.
majmom, I clued you incorrectly. Sorry 8(
I cleaned out my son's closet and have a stack of clothes to give away. If anyone would like me to ship them to you, please let me know. size 3(T). summer clothes. most are in good shape. If no one wants them, I'm giving them to good will as usual.
Like they said in Nazi Germany " Be right back. I'm off to shower"
so, everyone, GO TIGERS in the World Series, starting tomorrow......
I'm kind of stunned :-0
Charm - instead of giving to goodwill, contact a battered woman's shelter in your area. They ALWAYS need clothing
did she just say what i think she did
yes..
yikes
thanks for the idea autumn moon. I will look into what's nearby for me.
!?
is everyone talking about my offer of clothes? I'm sorry if that sounded rude, no offense intended.
?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no charm - it's not you check 1:24 pm
oh Charm, no! i would love to take advantage of your offer, but my nephew is a bit young :)
no, charm, see shower remark...
oh. hmmm.
abe, I also have some never used (tags still on) clothes....
lets continue chatting so that remark is off the screen
sounds good
Charm- my nephew is 17 months, but he's big for his age
getting back to the clothes, my friend required the safety of a shelter and she has to run with both her kids with only what they could carry at the time
how old are the kids, autumn?
they were 5 and 7 at the time
just getting started and am stuck on the co6/30.
she couldn't have meant to say that
pbr- co + consonant + to be physically in shape
co6/30 = duck co**** - pieces of duck cooked in it's own fat. mmmmmmmmmmmm
someone had a co 6/30 icon before...
TY Charm - I'll have some of that pls
Thanks Charm...got your clue but didn't get Abe's
as if duck was not fatty enough - just a touch more schmaltz
but you got the word, autumn?
yw. it's yummy as only something soaking in fat can be!
how many cu words are there pls
yes, I guess it's the food side of the brain that's working this morn
i have 2 so far, lynxxx
Charm -- thx -- only 105 more!!
4 cu words
4 cu words.
ah, thanks Dippnall
TY Dippnall
all cu's start with same first 3 letters
hey charm - I've been 'clearing' son's effects, too! He's just gone to uni - so I've been able to get rid of loads!
cu 5/14 looks like madame cu***, different vowel
*madam
autumn et al, re donating to women's shelter, they also ALWAYS need toiletries--either purchased or travel size items from hotels. I have a friend in Louisiana who picks up donated small soaps from local hotels on a regular basis. Also, here in Nashville, I've taken items like this to a halfway house for women just released from jail/prison.
Dipnall, at least once your stuff is gone, it's gone. Mine's closet got refilled with all the size 4 winter stuff he's going need. sigh
Une - what a great idea - never thought of those items
I took a bunch of unopened make up too. You know, all those 'bonus' things that just isn't the right colour or the samples of shampoo that come in the mail
forever getting travel sized freebies
hey ho! at least his room's tidy - until he returns with all the dirty washing! :(
i used to work for a company that had lots of field staff employees--they'd bring me bags of hotels soaps, lotions, etc. from time to time . . .
(I was the go-to girl for donations!)
good idea autumn - the harvest festival gifts from church and school have just gone to a refuge nearby - the gratitude is humbling
Dippnall, that is one thing my mother never let me do when I went to college. I had to bring clean clothes home.
in6.18 anyone?
in6/18 - add a consonant to the end of the in5/10 before it.
co 5/12 and 6/27
co 5/12- mr. farrell or firth
I'm a soft touch, really - and I guess I'll just be glad to have him back for a little while. Empty nest syndrome!

tor, you could be staying at home, in which case this morning after making and cleaning up breakfast, vacuuming, doing 2 loads of laundry, and making and cleaning up after lunch - you can finally think about doing 2 more loads of laundry and starting to cook dinner. On top of taking care of the dog's needs and entertaining the 4yo who's bored to be at home.
little golden nude male statue, red carpet,
gotta leave for a while - too much racket in next room - installation of new furnace and airconditioner, etc.

Hi Stid!
hi Scrabbler!

99 words left to find, 99 words...
it looks like if fl5/16 and fl5/18 had a baby.
Knock one down, put it on the list, 98 words to find...
Now what's the fl5/16 right before the fl7?

the co 6/27 please
Klaurel: believe it or not...when we first moved into this dump, they HAD carpet in the kitchen and bath! as well as the rest of the house!
angel's head piece - last letter + robot ending
there is a variant of the ko nut; swedish unit of currency, and variant spelling for "a judge in a Muslim community, whose decisions are based on Islamic religious law" - not in abc order
Klaurel, I sure appreciate your need!
Sine this is only my second ame I'm still trying to figure it all out so glad to be able to help out.. :)
co 6/27 ends like the heart chamber
ha 6/24 Ha* 2001 space odessy _ Date was an andr***

Filk is so a word!!
Data*
But he does bad guys so wel !!
co = criminal + match. Not a good clue sorry

OOOH! Daisy, I had that in my old place! Hubby and I never got around to pulling out the carpet in the bath, though
thnx pida.
and now, well, my cleaning lady brings her own vacuum. :) Of course, she likes my central vac, which I never use except to vacuum out some bird food out of its cage
oh! hi pida! didn't recognize you with the trees in winter icon.
I get the co beginning and the end, but not what's in the middle
oh, this stuff was NASTY....wooly and scratchy...like some kind of outdoor stuff. I called it crappit instead of carpet.
My dream home (which has a music room and a 2-story library) has a central vac...
ick! I just didn;t want to pull it up and figure out what was under there. I figured it would be really bad
Stid, I"m moving in with you
my dream home has a roof and 4 walls

oooh! I finally got the co 6/30 -- thanks!
I have a Husky/Chou for a dog and a tabby cat
bichon, do you have the at 6/24? the co 6/27 has the same ending
whats the word count today?

my other half likes to say (about one of our cats), "i'm so glad that gerbot has skin and hair on her tail". so yes, it could be worse.

ugh, i hope you weren't subjected to more than a few seconds.
You haven't missed anything, but it's high on the list of the 50 worst songs of all time...
i don't think i know any of his songs, but only two types of songs end up popular in my world

sorry, wrong window... *blushes*
I did that because there was a news item about someone listening to the number 1 song on the list "We Built This City" by Starship for 24 hours straight, and they made it look like was a horrible torture. I thought to myself, I could listen to all 50 of the worst songs of all time for 24 hours straight, and get on national news by one upping this guy...
Fran thanks for the ha. I am still trying to figure out the in.
douglas douglas douglas...you have such ambition.

Hiya Fran!
hey, all i can rember is they were black and blue
cute jai! we haven't felt any of the aftershocks so not too much shaking where we are.
I have trouble completing the list and chatting on AIM at the same time. I find I get distracted and then don't get to finish off
"That was no crazed sterno bum, but a respected law enforcement officer, Sheriff Lugar Axhandle of *****, Arizona...
nutty, i just remember lots of blue tube lighting
hehe... point taken. ;)
Ice, Ice, Baby is the next on the list...
Fran that is what I remember
now that's torture douglas!
aw, now what's wrong with that song?
I'm really glad you are okay...My sister is flying home to Maui tomorrow....
Smooth - How long have you been Babbling?
now put some k-fed on that list and i doubt you could last!
about 4 hours...
You just started tonight?
cool jai, things seem to be back to normal here, Maui actually got power restored quicker than Oahu.
yup... it was slow at work, and a co-worker turned me on to it
Now that the party is jumping With the bass kicked in and the vegas are pumpin' Quick to the point to the point no faking I'm cooking MC's like a pound of bacon Burning them if you ain't quick and nimble I go crazy when I hear a cymbal And a hi-hat with a souped up tempo I'm on a roll and it's time to go solo
ice, ice baby (add stolen guitar riff here)
So I heard...My niece kept calling my sister and calling her on the phone- my sis told me that was more stressful than the crazy 24 hrs. they had trying to fly out.
Yoink and I have been playing for over a year. You can see by the rankings.
This is most dreadful, isn't it?
Does anyone have the do5?
douglas i don't think it would have been so bad if he wasn't such a fraud.
that would be stressful jai!
Douglas - I have a do5/12
do5--sadness in latin-- add an es at the end for a feminine name
douglas, like a hue, but change first letter
do5- do+ folk ***e

what song is that douglas?
Achy Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus...
oh, ick...
i think there is something to that list.
The song that almost (but not quite) brought back line dancing...
Doug, you obviously do not live in Mississippi....
in the south line dancing has never died
it was popular once?
and the electric slide is still going strong at Filipino first birthday parties.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CONGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
We Built This City might be the only song on the list with a reference to Marconi
It is a contest between the line dancers, the square dancers, and dopefreaks....and those who think dancing is a sin right up threre with sodomy.....
