hi sprite!
i do like that 8 - one can never have too much haha
hey sprite! actually, i got the a4, but i didn't know what to do with it once i found it :)
hello sprite:)
it pluralises too krys
in that case I am not with you, Krys, lol. Must be a time reference I do not know yet.
i had never heard the word before, but i noodled it.
its a good aussie slang word krys - nice to find some here
Got it. Australian slang, dictionary says. I stand educated :)
lynxxx, care to share a clue for the 8?
Actually, if you leave out that r and add nd at the end, it is the dutch word for evening... strange :)
good evening everyone
fran: if you haven't got it, you're not enjoying the process enough :)
Fran, what all women want but most don't get enough of, if their men are more focused on what comes next.
are there a lot of dutch settlers in Australia?
yes, there are, Fran.
as Ganga said - can't have too much of it - fo8.70 compound - part of lovemaking!
fran f8, what we all hope for before sex
thanks sprite! got it loud and clear.
hello Andree:)
hi andree!
most aussie words r very multiculturally based, not so much dutch that i know of but asians and italians are here aplenty
thanks to the other cluers also!
A daughter of a friend of mine is in the process of emigrating to Australia. She and her husband passed all the tests, so it is going fast now.
Just wanted to say hi. Now it's goodnight.
we have a relatively tiny population sprite and the government is very keen to get more people here
hi and goodnight, BigFoot
it means afternoon in Australia - if you slur that enough (as we do) you get the word. and we always put vowels on the end of words/names!
nite big foot
goodnight BFM!
Hi & bye bigfoot
yeah lynxxx - shorten and add o and ya have most aussie slang and nicknames down pat
They had to pass a language test and they had to prove that their education and working experience would secure them a job in Australia. They passed with flying colors and are really looking forward to actually moving now.
night bfm
it is a beautiful place sprite - i wouldnt live anywhere else i dont think
it is a goood life over here sprite - except for the drought this year. Lots of work at the moment too
I think, if I ever would emigrate, I would try for Australia. Beautiful nature, good and friendly people, lots of space - sounds like heaven.
glad to hear they are expected to speak english, no such rules in the past
yeah sprite - just like canada without the cold hehe
yeah language barriers are responsible for the vast majority of racism issues here i think andree
beat place in the world to live
A good knowledge of English is mandatory, unless you have an occupation that is very very much in demand overthere.
lynxx and ganja, any luck with the cup
fireworks
I don't dabble - only babble
picked the second place - pop rock, but didnt get a chance to bet as i was at tafe doing an exam
congratulations saphyre:)
yay saphyre!!!
Yay Saph !!!!!!!!
it's so interesting... here in the US I think there would be a lot of uproar if the standards (for spoken/reading/written english) were raised for people moving here
oh good job saphyre
I really wish we had such a language rule for immigrants in Holland. That barrier is certainly responsible for a lot of racism issues here, such a terrible shame.
sprite we have whole communities where the parents don't speak english even after years, so the language requirement is new
wtg saphhyre!
likewise, we do here too, but I think there would be a lot of accusations of racism if a language requirement were strictly enforced
Sounds like a good thing to me, Andree. We could use some of that good sense here.
anyone need clues before I va****
I think ur government is deaf to calls of racism, a good thing
"vanish" does not exist in the puzzle
struggling on thanks anyways saphyre - have yaself a good one
that was a good one saphyre! thanks
but va**** does :)
yw fran :)
sprite, va + large elk minus a vowel
belated congrats saph
I spent $29 on sweeps and won $30 HA HA
lol it was also the LAST word that I found - how fitting
Thanks Fran! Have seen that word before but never knew the meaning :)
hehe andree
Andree, you are getting rich!
i always thought it had two Os, tried it that way first
It can Fran - both spelling acceptable
Wow Andree! but a least you missed the wooden spoon!
brb
oh good saphyre!
drank my profits, lol
you big spender you!
ok be back later unless someone needs clues?
how cute - lo4.4 and pr5.22 - same thing
lol lynxxx
bye everyone
I put $15 each way on efficient which got scratched, so I got my money back, te only day of the year I bet on a horse
a clue please for va5/16
It is a hero thing, Flask.
thanks sprite!
yw :)
bye saphyre!

Good morning all. Our electricity supply is going to be interrupted at some stage today, so if I disappear suddenly, that'll be the reason!
morning Haz!
good morning Haz:)
hello Haz
Is the grid reasonable today?
hi haz
am off, hopefully bbl am switching to broadband today so may have a few hiccups! have a good day everyone:)
not too bad at all, haz
Hi Haz, it is fun, but not as fast as s4 grids.
bye jean
Bye Jean - you'll love broadband once it's up and running.
bye jean
you will like it Haz - I thought of you when I found the fa4.7 scottish cake (and 2 words from that)
I hope it will be an improvement Haz I will let you know:)
The 'cake' is really a thin bread. Here in Northern Ireland we make them with potato (we're devoted to potatoes over here)
bye Jean
is anyone using the list - are there any yv words pls
nope. let me know if you want more info
there's none!
TY - I'll look at bit longer first

Bye lynxxx and morning sprite
c ya lynxxx
hi FMitch
bye lynxxx
Good morning all. I have a silly question. Where do I find icon themes now ?
Hi Frances, I think there is a link to them via Angelsongs page
Hi FMitch there used to be but I cannot find it now
Someone was asking about the Y-words. There are no Yv words. There are however 2 YL words.
hi frances, bye lynxxx
i'm not sure Frances. There used to be a calender on Angelsong's page, but I usually just ask around in the chatlog
oh thanks sprite - that may save some fruitless searching
I seem to recall Angelsong saying something about the calendar function being discontinued
y-words can be hard for me, I know :)
oh and they r cool new words for me too
You can go to rankings and click on Babbler direct, she is at 964
sprite, it was lynxxx asking abou yv words
didn't Angelsong discontinue (at least temporarily) the calendar because of difficulties with the previous calendar hosting site?
ty sprite - managed to monkey them and now have 1 nice grey box
Perfect FMitch. Thank you
And I'm back! The electricity company had said there would be a short interruption today *between 8.00 and 18.00) and tomorrow we're potentially off between 8.30 and 18.30.
wtg Ganja and JFB :)
welcome back haz
are they doing repairs or upgrades in the area Haz?
ty sprite hehe - no way would i have gotten those without you giving the clues
impressive words as well - the beginning of all things
Well that was quick Haz!
hi metal, where did you spring from
They're doing some sort of upgrade, the sub-station is being 'held on a generator' today.
swift return, Haz! wb :)
fr6/36 please
I've been here, just quiet. Either in the grid or distracted by TV
i liked it too JFB - thought perhaps it related to the norse legends, maybe an ice giant or some such
sorry, don't have fr6 yet
Oh crumbs Haz do you have gas?
No- we're completly electric, so no cooking either!
fr6/36 something unnecessary, foolish or deemed "silly". usually has the ending "ous"
wait, found it. fr6/36 trifle, spend careless, behave careless.
M3 only occasionally but she takes tablets for it lol
nice one metal - TY
thx metal
Very funny, Fmitch!
or, clued this way: giddiness, happiness, silliness.... usually seen with the ending ity
Mitch rofl lol
Mitch rofl lol

it ends with a "stick"
Hello FranMag!
hi haz!
are we arriving at the snake chair 3rd vowel cross clues again?
hmm will not accept it
hi fran
hey andree!
la 6/27 please
The last two letters in the word are the same as the beginning of Stan Laurel's comedy partner, Mr Hardy, taz.
Good morning everyone :)
taz, it usually has "ity" on the end of it, or "ous"
hi karys!
Good morning Karys. Your cat looks as contented as ever.
fran im trying to forst vowel and stick at end to no avail
Andree, adj to la4/5
taz - it's not the first vowel - look at the hints below.
ty haz
sorry guys, I go hide the log to escape the spelling clues. Bye and have a nice day.

can anyone help with how to nicley say on invitations for 'Open Day' thingy after wedding, that we only want people to come and not to bring gifts ?
'Anyone with a gift will be turned away at the door'
kary ask for any gifts to be donated to a chariity of your choice
i can take the gifs off your hands
Mine isn't a nice way of saying it, though!
your presence is the only present required
like that Haz.....keeps it light which is the idea ty :)
i like it andree
Thats what i do for the Boys birthday partys, or they end up with loads of gifts they really dont need. i ask for the money to be donated to the NSPCC
or say something like: "the best gift you can give us is your presence... "
thats good too Andree ty :)
thats a nice thought M3
I'm afraid of it sounding like we DID expect something really !
Kary or except the gifts and put em on eBay lol x
LOL...LOL...M3
heck auction the gifts at the party
A friend of mine sent a note in the invitation explaining and people who were desperate to give donated a small sum to A cancer charity instead
Ganja, i love that one, yeah and then give the money to charity x
thats nice spanner
hello back to finish
exactly M3 and everyone can join in too, a good emcee would make it a great event
wb herin
It was only £5 each but a good sum got raised, cause some people gave more...
Andree how do you pay for babble if youre in aus
my partner was nagging me to retrieve food, he is cooking
it would Ganja, except not all the people will be there at one time since we're doing an open day
yeah make an event of it put on the invite" small gift required to auction later"
is aussie currency really that worthless these days herin?? hehe
I think that would be great! What a good idea...
I think that would be great! What a good idea...
no but i am needed to find these things out.
credit card herin
karys sell raffle ticket's
have te 4.4 like the phone what is the other please
karys sell raffle ticket's
I think that would be a great idea too....
Karys, - I think you should go with what you think your friends would best respond to. At least you will have got over the message that YOU don't need or want anything from them.
ok but how much is it in aus dollars, that and i would have to use pay pal or debit haven't worked that out yet dont have credit card.
They will understand your situation.
Haz.. I think probably something on the lines of prescence NOT presents
sorry for interuping other conversation
i dont have that one either taz
paypal should be fine, us$15 is about au$22, for alifetime membership a bargain
thank you all for your imput !
Yes, Karys, a little bit of word play never goes astray. (Poetry at this time of the morning!)
cool um if it was pay pal im assume you would do a credit for $25 or something similar if it was a credit card
thats what I need, a clever poem !
ty gan
haz said a wo-ord as part of another wo-ord! :-)
have no idea herin, like everything else I just put it on my card
lol Fran :)
I did? I must check to see if I have it already....
Still love the kooky auction idea though Karys. It would be a laugh, something different and you could raise money for charity....
actually haz, you said two words!
So I did. Found the f8, FMitch!
and the magic bank fay make it work? Thank for that info. Its coming into chris and im trying to wrangle cash. sorry for interupting conversation
yay haz!
anyone find te 5.10?
goo dgoing Haz
hi infernal
yeah ya could even auction the boquet
herin 15 AUD is 11.55 USD
I do too spanner, just don't think it would fit this situation, but it's something I shall remember for a future occasion
hey fran sorry i seem to have walked in half way between karys conversation. Sorry Karys
tr5/10 - plural woodland plants
Karys you know your friends, and what would fit, but if they are really your friends they wont mind, they will just be happy to spend your special day with you....
don't worry herin....I seem to be monopolizing the chat !!
m3, us$15 not au$15
But it's te5 you're looking for, taz.....
yes te 5/10
It's grand, Karys. We love arranging other people's social lives, and a wedding is a bonu.
bonus.
do you know you are right spanner...I think I worry about things too much !
thanks for the info andree
andre what conversion did you want sorry?
good job you're not all here in person, I'm having second thoughts about the dress now !
krays go ahead i have a foot mouth problem, what dress?
lol wish we were there Karys it would be such fun!!!
I worried myself sick when I got wed, especially over the seating plans, but you know what, most people didnt give things a second thought, they were just happy to be there. Try to relax and enjoy the day...
when is the big day karys
te5/10- te plus french for law, or first letters of what we use to communicate with 'phone) then two vowels.
it would wouldn't it...so many opinions...we would all be dizzy !...Wedding dress herin
Where will you be cruising?
thanks haz, could have sworn i tried that!
Christmas Day Andree....Caribbean spanner
haz ty ty got to look
oh wedding cool, fish please, im being the caterer for a wedding for groomzilla (gay man dont ask, im going bald from tearing my hair out)
You're welcome, Franmag.
Super. Am I allowed to ask which line?
when is that thing infernal?
Princess spanner
yea a ty haz
(if we find out the ship, maybe we could be stowaways or work our passage, then we COULD get to see the dress)
You're welcome taz.
you can see it on line on the day, they have a webcam !!
Lovely. I went with them last year. You are going to have such a brill time. They are fantastic at organising things....you have absolutely nothing to worry about...
Ohhh the Caribbean for Christmas, I might never come back.
So you really don't want us to stowaway? There'll be a global audience, Karys!
thanks spanne
um december 3rd i think, going in thursday to speak to him, trying to cater for 40 with $150 aus or 60pound or $115 us
you are all making me quite excited !!! ( and it's a housework day today :( )
Tell you what though, you have agood excuse for no pressies....luggage allowance
hmmm, i'm thinking spam kabobs for that budget infernal!
thats a cool idea to broad cast the wedding
thats a hard ask herin
the party or open day thing isn't til we come back 6th Jan actually
Elton John's caterer had similar problems.
yep starting to pull out hair, he is driving me nuts, hence trying to ignore it at the mo
make sure you own the copy right, dont want to see dodgy mashups on YouTube !!!
open day? like a reception?
mmm that is funny m3
Well then you have time to compose your lovely poem....
lol haz
Karys - it'll be fantastic so go ahead and be excited. I'm thrilled and I'm not even going to be there!
Unless......
I've bought a hat already :)
I didn't want a 'proper' reception, it sort of defeats the object of going away to get married, so it's supposed to be just a casual sort of drop in event.
LOL FMitch
Good. We'll all drop in.
be there in spirit Haz
it all sounds lovely karys, I am sure it will go well
I can just see us on Christmas Day, all dressed up, hats on, sitting at the computer while the family waits impatiently for their turkey to be served....
now THAT would be exciting spanner !!
LOL Haz!!!!
ok...ok...I REALLY did laught out loud at that one Haz !!
We'll all wear babble tee shirts so you can recognise us...oh and big hats
and our icons would be pictures of the pressies we'd like to give, or of the charities to which we would give
but haz elton is rich why would you be tight with cash if you had it spend it. i know someone that has spent $20 grand just on the engagement
And trying to explain to our families that no, babble hasn't taken over our lives at all.
see karys you don't have to worry, we will plan it all for you
And lying through our teeth...
sounds like you all get the same reactions from your families that I do here !
what day is the wedding karys? i'll email babbler and have big hat day in honor of your cruise wedding.
Andree...just as a byetheway..we are expecting to see your icon in March !!
oh duh christmas day of course
my other half has given up on me with this site
ooohh Fran....how lovely !!
have you been to Sydney before karys
My sister lives in Sydney..
no Andree...first time for me, my 'husband to be' has tho...his son lives in Brisbane.
so you will go to Brisbane too
Karys, you are a bit of a globetrotter on the sly..
Goodness knows what it will do to your babble rankings but I suppose some things are more important!
yes...the plan is 2 nights Sydney, 4 nights driving to Brisbane, 4 nights there, then a flight to Darwin for 2 nights then overland trip to Cairns then back to Brisbane
I just raelised I haven't entered a word for 1/2 hour
what haz
Can't think of anything offhand, Andreee.
given up on rankings anyway !
just found my other halfs bros new website?
I was just thinking the same thing Andree about lack of words
I am taking a short break
See you later andree
I have just noticed I have 100 to find, so on that note I had better do some work. Thank you all for a lovely morning so far, back soon :)
If babble was a race we would be accusing each other of distraction, but it has been fun. Thank goodness the electricity stayed on otherwise I might never have known about my revised Christmas Day schedule.
Bye Andree and Karys.
oh dear haz u having power problems?
Haz....I really do think on this occasion, the family must come first !!
And the need for the big hat.. but its going to be awkward basting the turkey in it...
by haz
And there'll be fire hazards when flaming the pudding.....
Mornin' Y'All...hope everyone is well.
Might have to have a 6' long match for that..
opps that was byw krays im one fingure typing as im eating dinner
hello odin
Good morning Odin. We've been planning Karys's wedding and reception.
Hey Her, Haz and all
Greetings Odin
Hi Odin
Plenty of good suggestions I'm sure...she's lucky she has so many resources
Hey FMitch
What's up Spanner
How's the grid today?
Not much, I am at peace with my world..
I hear ya man
We're so busy planning wedding outfits that the grid has taken second place. It's okay!
Wow...I believe that's a FIRST!
You know what women are like about weddings!
I know! but we have been busy Odin, honest...
okay, i sent an email to Babs requesting Dec 22nd to be "Big Hat Day for Karys' Wedding"
I was going to ask for Christmas Day, but then you wouldn't get to enjoy it with us!
Indeed I do...I am sure many details have been sorted through and again...with the women of babble anything is possible...carry on!
How lovely Fran
That's great, Franmag.
sort of like the bridal shower we had for LeslieAnn
back again, great idea fran
okay all, with 70 left, i'm off to quote-puzzler and bed, see you all tomorrow!

Rather a grand entrance there, Andree! LOL.
lol, Jacula
been here all evening jac, not even the excuse of an entrance
Looks like my cat's hiding from your dog, the way the posts came up, Biltong.:)
oh, didn't even notice that. Cute!
hello
Good morning herinfern.
hi herin
hey i was eating dinner and net surfing at my other halfs bros new wibesite
68 words in 16 mins... is this grid luring me in with the easy ones first, I wonder?
good going, Jacula!
yes it is jac
you're doing quite well I think Jacula to have gotten that number that quickly
and lady's right... it's suckering you in
too much, too soon... :)
hey bitong i noticed in your profile about your dog have you thought about bringing him to the uk
i am stuck at 34
Good morning everyone
hey eba
good morning Eva
valor
bugger that was hey eva
,
oh damn!
Good morning, Eva & Merp. Thank you for the word!:)))
Yes, herin, but it would be very expensive and he would have to stay in quarrantine for six months.
at least usually the words i enter here are complete piffle
(I always miss those American spellings on the first grid sweep!)
Hi Jac-like your lurking cat
hi eva
Eva - my cat's hiding from Biltong's dog.:)
and I always miss the British ones
oh \thats not good. My other halfs parents spent about $10,000 to bring their dog back to australia, she does have an international doggy pasport though
where do they come from herin?
they flew to australia to england then went around europe then back to aus when they wanted to come home, darn dog cost them more than their airfare combinded to return
As much as I love my boy, I cannot justify spending that kind of money. Besides, it is not fair to keep them isolated for 6 months anyway. He is better off where he is with my daughter.
how do they work things out when they have international dog shows, or other animal exhibitions... I have always wondered about things like that
oh thats true at least you can visit him, they were looking at living in england then after a year wanted to come home
That's a good question metal. Never thought about that.
1st pe6/21 please
it's a type of bird Andree... like the second 6/21, but with the last vowel of the word changed
(like the second 6/21 in sound that is)
um in europe you can get a doggy passport, as for bringing a beast to aus then lots of quarentine, my g/f has a rescue dog as the owners were going to the usa and they were not allowed to export the dog due to its breeding conditions
sorry andree i didn't have that
the dog's breeding conditions?
thx metal
yw
Thanks, metal. I hadn't got either pe6 but I have both now.:)
yep its a french mastiff and male and he had a big 'do not export' on his papers, something to due with his blood line. anyway he got a better onwer.
Obviously to avoid cross breeding
interesting restriction. it's good he now has a good home.
I know the Enable dictionary doesn't allow 'afro' but I still try it every time.:/
me too
same here, Jacula. And every now and then I just check, in case it has changed it's mind, lol
LOL, Biltong & Eva. It's not just me then!
It's like when you feel peckish and you open the fridge every few minutes, just in case something has appeared or "grown" since you last looked
Hi all! Just to let you know I just sent Dr God 'the' suggestion that's been lingering for a few days: to add a function where you get a warning asking whether you're sure, if you try to add just one word into the chat
Biltong - That sounds more like my son!
Hi Mrs Often. Has he replied yet?
hi Mrs Often.
lol, I doubt it, I sent it literally seconds before I started typing my message here
I asked him for an edit/delete button years ago but he said it would be difficult due to the site set-up.
Things may have changed, though...
yep and they aren't they aren't a common bred. his sire and the mum was a grand champ he already outweighs his pop. Yes he is in a good home and spoilt rotten, chiro, expensive food, training in security to keep him sane. The are the dumbest dogs about
Good Evening Everyone
hi mrs often
ah right. well I know he already has a built in warning message when you try to entery an EMPTY message in the chat... so I shouldn't think it's too difficult to add the same if you enter one word...?
hi tiny
hi tiny and often
hi Tiny
hi andree! hi bilt, and herin!
hi tiny
Hi Tiny.
Hi please cllick on my icon and read what it says
Aawww thank you tiny! :)
Tiny - Thank you for the lovely roses. My favourites, too. x
thank you tiny, they are pretty.
Your all welcome you are nice people
thank you tiny, I love flowers, roses especially
They are beautiful, thanks Tiny.
My phantom word so far: frivolous.
Hey tiny i have heard the best inspirition from doctors,' you'll never ...." and somehow you always do. I was told my left arm would have limited movement and it is fine
there. I've ordered my windows on my screen so that I can continuously see them :)
lovely roses Tiny, thank you very much.
you have part of one there jac. :-)
my phantom (and I keep trying it hoping it will appear) is vamoose
my phantom for the morning: alveoli. Don't even know if that's how it's spelled.
I do, Wolvie? *Peers again at grid.*
fr 6/36. :-)
it is
That is great herinfern see God does the foolish things to confuse the wise (doctors)
lo*** the last three letters Jacula
jac have you the fr6, nearly your phantom
my phantom word - protea
katy - remove one letter and it will work
Can anyone clue the 8 please?
Thank you all. That's a new one on me.

thanks for all the clues they are a great help
ty, Jacula
ai7/32 - where planes are.
thanks jac!
the only a I am missing now is the ar 5/10 of all things. Good thing I had fish last nite. :-)
ooh this is good

calm down, jac. ;-)
We understood what you meant Jacula :)
sorry im back trying to thing about this charity to send a donation to
anyone say goldfish brain that i am tonight?
ar short for afternoons wolvie

'Bye Biltong. TTFN.
bye bilt
very red sky this morning. Desn't bode well
No, Eva... shepherd's warning.
hope it doesn't get too bad, eva - I'll be leaving to vote in a bit
it's raining like crazy here. always seems to do so on election day!
um ill be back in a minute. i am going to go harras a web site for a train for a puppy rescue place, and by train i mean large human sized carriage.
good luck herin!
also going to harras a car company too, this is too darn important for me to ignor
good luck fern
'Bye for now, herinfern.
supposed to rain here this evening.
Drat! It won't take 'elvira' my old identity on here.:)
I knew it wouldn't but I had to try!
nice try, jac - it takes erica, so what the heck!
Yes, but erica is another name for a plant (heather or ling). I think Elvira is just herself. LOL
I know, but still. ;-)
I'd have another word if a baby eel was an 'eelet' rather than an 'elver'.
or if one who caught eels were an eeler. :-)
Speaking of names - The famous footballer's in here (pe4/5). Never understood why it allows that.
Wolvie - true.
me neither, jac. Enable is odd that way. At least to me.
dictionary.com says it's a variation of what you do to potatos before you fry them.
Can't believe I've only just spotted the po4 rhymer!
Katy - it is? Must look that up.
i had to when you mentioned it. . . got me curious
Good Morning All, looks like I just missed a clue for the fr8, would someone be kind enough to repeat it
precurser to sex peri!
fo8 though.
fo8, peri.
Oh is it an fo8 and I got it thanks
yw
Lucky you, peri! LOL
Hi Haz.
lol jac
clue for om word please?
Good morning Jacula - I'm just finding a few more words before I have to head out. Nice grid this morning.
Going anywhere nice, Haz?
Not really. I have some rubbish to dump and banking to do.
don't have the om's yet wolvie. sry
Of course, I still have to get a hat for Karys' wedding!
'om' word? *Peers at grid again.* (Not using a list.. yet.)
om 5/12 jac
I've got daughter's ironing still to do, Haz. Did all the rest over 2 nights, though.
Well at least the pile is diminishing!
om5/12 ruminant's third stomac.... o + "flour" used to make tortillas
I tried that metal, will enter again - thanks
Thanks, Katy. (I always think of the book when I see your name. )
yw
got it ML, thanks!
huh. took it this time. I must have typed it wrong the first time.
what book jac?
'What Katy Did', Katy.
And What Katy did next.
...and 'What Katy Did Next'. By Susan Coolidge.
:) i love those books
never heard of it. Katydid was what my dad called me when I was a little bitty girl. I'll have to get them.
Snap, Haz. Loved those books.
I read and re-read them as a child. They were wonderful.
Katy - I expect that's why he called you that. Yes, you should read them.
i'll look in the library for them next time i go. The granddaughter might like em.
'Little Women', 'Good Wives' and 'Little Men' by Louisa May Alcott enthralled me, too.
ai 7/40?
radio time majmom
majmom - ai7/40 - time given to a record on the radio.
or what a song gets on the radio
What Katy did at school was the other one in the series.
right that sorted goodnight ill be back in the morning
well folks - must be off to vote, bbl
I can't read the bit where Beth dies in Little Women without floods of tears.
great! i will definitely check them out.
36 left - leave some good clues for me. :-)
Haz - Yes, had forgotten that one. Did you also like the Milly-Molly-Mandy books? I loved the idea of her attic room.
Haz - me neither (re Beth).
ty wolvie and jacula
I read Milly Molly Mandy but don't really remember it too well. Other favourites included Heidi, by Johanna Spyri and of course, Anne of Green Gables and the sequels.
have a good one wolvie. i'm off myself in about 10 minutes.
Matthew's death is another tear-jerker.
Me, too, Haz. MMM books where written by Joyce Lankester Brisley. I still have most of my childhood classic books.
Noel Streatfield was another favourite author.
I think I only ever read Caldicott Place, Haz. Noel was a female, did you know?
And someday I must re-read the William books and the Jennings books. I won't revisit Enid Blyton, though. I know where to draw the line!
What, not even 'Castle of Adventure' or the Faraway Tree books, Haz?;)
Yes, I knew Noel was a she. 'Ballet Shoe' and 'The Vicarage children' spring to mind; there are probably loads of others tucked away somewhere in my brain.
The highlight of my visit with my sister who lived in Massachusetts at the time was a trip to the house where Louisa May Alcott wrote her books
It's funny - you come to a point where you realise that Enid just doesn't thrill you any more.
JFB - I can imagine! Was it as you expected?
Know what you mean, Haz.
It was great - I could imagine the March family living there.
We seem to have started a Babble Reading Circle here! LOL.
One of the joys of having a daughter is to reread the books you loved as a child with her
I'm outta here now. have a good day all and see you this evening or tomorrow am. ------> gone
I imagine that babblers are keen on words and therefore voracious readers. Anyway, I must awa' as the Scots would say. I'll be back later to get the remaining 71 words. Bye!
64 left here, Haz. See you later.
'Bye Katy. Don't forget to read those books!
av 6/33
JFB - Yes!
majmom - where birds are kept.
ty again jacula
y/w, majmom.

Yup!:)
Oh heck! I've been so busy nattering I've forgotten to feed the cats...:( BBL, if they haven't killed me.

Bye Jac! Sorry I missed you; hi, everyone else!
Hi Ank :)
Mornin', Karys. Hey, JFB -- you saw the Alcott house, I got to touch the keys of Susan B. Anthony's very own typewriter! Amazing, what makes us feel close to the writers who have affected us so much.
easy grid today ^_^....so far
I went to Cross Creek and sat at the table and touched Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings typerwriter that she wrote The Yearling with.
WOW, Gail. :)
I have also seen the house where Pearl Buck lived here in Vermont for many years.
*admires Gail's hamster icon, of course* Hi, Lain. :)
Oooh, good icon, Lain, very on-theme!
my icon = Me
im not doing the themes yet

Not me, Strider, sorry. :(

ty tiny lol
Tiny, can I ask an intrusive question about your profile?
Yes go on
Just popped in for a sec before going to vote. KARYS -- we just moved here and went to the Alcott house this weekend -- I was so moved I actually cried. Like visiting a childhood friend. My mom collected first editions of Louisa's books, and I grew up with her characters as friends.
Awww, how nice, Ch1212! We're waiting until 11 to vote, don't want to get trampled.
Tiny, what kind did you endure?
thats great ch1212.....I am easily moved too, so I can understand your feelings
absentee ballots are great, no crowds
Ovarian told It had spread and I only had 6 weeks to live but as I said God has other ideas
My daughter loved the Betsy-Tacey books when she was little. I would love to plan a vacation around visiting author's birthplaces and such.
WHOA, Tiny, you are in a truly tiny minority!!! What a narrow escape!!! Congratulations! ! !
My daughter is also directing "Little Women" in community theatre in Idaho this December, so I had to buy lots of postcards of the interiors to send her, and some special Alcott souvenirs for her cast members.
Oh,Tiny, God Bless! The books that helped me so much as a teen were "Karen" and "With LOve from Karen"...
yes since then I have had a heart attack and a stroke so I am very blessed
Gracious, Tiny!
Tiny...you are amazing, you must have so much determination I think.
I see you love roses as well as I, Tiny...T Y for them!
I'm still standing
You've dodged more bullets than Wonder Woman!
its been hard but it is not going to keep me dopwn
She IS WW!!!
Thanks
@-----'---- <--Rose for Tiny!
LOL
have to dash -- everyone VOTE who is eligible! BBL
Well Thank You
Wow, Tiny. I thought I was brave surviving knee replacements with my lupus. You are very strong and God is very gracious.
I see I've started something!! LOL!
whats the voting for???
bye ch1212
Go, Ch!
so it would seem Tiny ...I shall remember you when inspiration is needed :)
pert
Yeah, Rose, but yours was prettier, I should have checked first. Thank you, Gail.
It's election Day in the States for Senators, Congress and local stuff...
right I'll be back later have fun
You are so right Gail
T Y, Gail LOL
Aaaah. Sorry.
Bye Ren
kth - this is our mid term elections for governors and such
hi and bye ren !
oh ok
loom
KTH, we in the US are voting for many, many offices: some governors, some federal senators, many state representatives and state senators, vast numbers of federal representatives (congress"men")
awe shoot
Tiny, check your cursor....
actually the better description would be we are voting for the lesser of two evils
It is a hot election because the Republicans currently hold the presidency and both houses of Congress, and may lose one or both houses of Congress.
Amen, Wurdy!
sometimes my hands are not as coordinated as I would like them to be
Or that we HOPE we are voting for the lesser of two evils -- election fraud is expected to be a huge problem.
Well, Tiny, think we'll cut you some slack, LOL!
there are only two choices?
With all you have been thru, I can understand that! We all do it once in a while..don't sweat it...
Tiny...you are very young to have had so much to endure.
KTH, there will usually be three or more listed -- but our smaller parties usually get 2% of the vote or less, and we are winner-take-all, no proportional representation.
they always say that ank - what we have in America is a bunch of dirty players who are also sore loosers. Run a cleaner campaign...talk about issues instead of who is gay and we might get somewhere
In some places, there are more, but there are two major parties at this time in history, and they both have problems....
hello hello - how many today?
I have had a lot more than I have mentioned
168
Yeah, Karys, I thought so too -- Tiny, you're only a baby, to have been through so much! 168, Sandr
Hi sandr
hi snadr....168
now the government is going to come and confiscate my computer under the patriot act. LOL
av 6/33?
168? where?
bird house lain
Mine, too, Wurdy!
i have 93 and am really struggling
Lain, birds are cooped in an av*
thanks
I'll hide them for you
They are hiding in there...some real obscure ones, and many everyday ones, too...
Want clues, Sandr?
maybe I should learn more about politics, I don't really agree with the whole concept of having a government and so I don't take part in elections, and I don't know much about how it works in britain, let alone america
i have one 8, but no 7's are there any?
Oh, dear, Kth.
2 sandr
could you clue me for them please
2 ai7s - where planes live and what records get on the radio
Oh, yes, two- both have to do with fklying...ai&'s
*7's
I think (and then I will get off my soapbox) that in our country everyone should vote. We have a voice. You mght not like our candidates, but if you don'
t vote you dont get to complain
ahh thanks
I am done now
ai7/40 actually has to do with radio rather than flying
in britain more people vote for big brother than the elections
That is so true, Wurdy..I hate it when I see that only 30% of the pop. voted....that's sad...
You are allowed an opinion Wurdy
thanks wurdy, if you ever lived in a country where you could not vote freely, you will run to the polls here
Yes, Une, but I was thinking of an airshow....
hah kth that is hysterical. We vote for american idol
airport
sorry, back to MY box
Inge wrong box
ai7/32 is where you leave and arrive
i agree wurdy - if you dont like any of the candidates you should spoil your ballot, at least then your disillusionment/protest is recorded and not mistaken for apathy
my phantom word is marvel - i keep seeing it
me too
and I keep seeing "mavelos"- spelled wrong!
this grid is lousy with rodents!
Actually, I heard someone (wanda sykes I think) saying that you should be appointed to all offices like jury duty. Then you get your summons and you are like "crap! I don't want to be the county commissioner or congressman , or whatever. I thought that was funny
yes, if you include am 5/10 and am 6/21, it is, Grace!
Some science fiction writer imagined a U.S. where offices are assigned by lot.
certainly would take away all of the backstabbing and distortion that goes on by both parties. They even attack themselves during primaries and then kiss and make up and crawl right up the winners butt.
sorry, I did say that I was done didn
tI
correction...am5/12
Wurdy, that's quite the image!
Summer, that's a root, not a rodent! :)
I know, I was punning!
mo5, vo5, rodents!
i am well stuck on 99 words - some one clue me to get my 100? I am working without a list. Is there more than one j? I have a je4/9.
j+ three vowels..
also ji4/9
dumb ji** for chinese coin
there are 2 j's
it's a babblet
Yeah, Grace, I laughed at that, too, get out the traps!
another pun..how a guy from the Bronx would say "Molar"...
ahh - thanks all - thats 100 for me. Might be back later for more torture! Have fun all
i see that a Nashville Institution is in this grid!
later, sandr
Bye, sandr...go pro!
Yay, I hit half-way mark, I can quit!
What's that, Une???
Grand Ole Opry! :-)
Reminder: if you use Lickety, go hit the websites he has in the bottom right, so he makes a few fractional pennies. It doesn't cover the cost of the site, but it helps. :)
Tiny, thanks for sharing -- bye for now, all!
bye, ankh
Of course! T Y, Une!

Hello, Sunny!

Hello, Sunny.
Back for a minute -- Wurdy, it's easy to remember M is 13th word because all the "13" gang names and t-shirt designs refer to marijuana.

it is a Babblet word, as we say...
ank - thanks for the info - not too well versed on my gang stuff...just found out that shoes over a clothes line means drug house
ar4/7 & plural 5 = Aussie afternoon/s.
It sounds like what Gollem would cough up if he had the flu.... <bad pun>
Boo, Rose, boooo!! I'm going to have to leave again! Wurdy, I thought shoes over a phone line means someone threw away their shoes. :) Hi Jac! Bye Jac!

how many do you have left, hurshy?
17
you're way ahead of me -- 39 and thinking about going to bj's 2 letter count -- running out of ideas!
there've been lots of good clues, so i've rolled along nicely
the grid is a bit savir today though :)
15
savir?
haven't you played the enable game yet? it's when you spell words any old way (preferably things that appear in the grid)
no -- haven't been around much -- a lot of company over the last 4 weeks.
It's cruelty to spelling, that's what it is.
well, it's tres fun
lol haz
still can't figure out what you meant by savir, though
severe
LOL Haz that sounds like a line out of My Fair Lady, seomthing Eliza might have said.
Oh dear, it does, doesn't it? I'm not fond of George Bernard Shaw - doesn't so much suggest ideas as hit you over the head with them.
lol - that reminds me of my dad, he always used to hit people (not hard) with a Bible and say "the truth hurts"
Wasn't it Shaw who left a considerable amount of money to encourage English to be written phonetically?
He sounds like a wise man, hurshy. Some people should be hit over the head often (not hard)
like me for instance!
What would Shaw made of mobile text speak?
sounds like he'd like it, from haz's description
I hope he would detest it. I think he was opposed to the idiosyncracies of the English language and thought the spelling could be made simpler.
Text speak confined to mobile/cell phones is one thing but examiners are reporting children using it in exams as well!
famous female characters in the grid: elvira, leia...
I am glad he didn't succeed then as I love the oddities and anomolies that go to make up such a rich and varied language.
I agree, FMitch.
me three!
How are you getting on with the grid, FMitch - are you finished?
Struggling Haz, got to 122 but think that's going to be about it. How about you?
FR 6 and 5?
I've finished, but it was a bit of a slog at the end. Alphabetti spaghetti and then some.
those are my last two
fr6 to have fun, gambol
Congrats on completing. I might have a look at the list in a bit.
fr + mineral you mine
fr 6/36 - f plus the r word meaning enemy or competitor, but change the last vowel.

But I actually voted for the green party this morning- should I be ducking now?
72TO - va + elk like animal - circular letter
va 6: a little like "scram"
There isn;t anywhere in IL as Republican as DuPage, I think, and here I am the Deocrat
evanadine loves green
*internal organs, that is.
brb phone
Oh, that is precious! Crist, the FL candidate, didn't show at a rally for him that Pres. Bush was at

Hello evanonut!
let that be a lesson to all of us - count to ten before you thank for clues
((((((((((owllery))))))))))))) *thinks hard ((((((((((((((all))))))))))))))
I am democrat as well- but could not in good faith vote for our governor again- and I really can't stand the whole 2 party race- and the green party will hopefully get 1/5 of the vote which will put them on the ballot for next year-
Oh my!
I'll bear it in mind, Bloodaxe - what blood group are you?
have to run! :) Gotta pick up trophies for the Pinewood Derby
TTYL

Yes, - sorry to be picky and all.

you're lucky though haz. i've stayed in a couple of hotels that led me to think that i was going to wake up in a bath tub full of ice and without kidneys.

school has been very busy stid. it doesn't help that i leave town every chance i get to stay in sleazy hotels. i need to stick around the next couple of weekends to get work done.
hello msree!
well, I hope you get to, why are you staying in sleazy hotels? or has that been covered already?
to get his kidneys stolen stid
HI stid
I read about kidneys... why are you in fiji today nut?
haha..i don't think so. but most hotels in morocco are sleazy..but they're cheap so you just lock the door and sleep in shifts.
Ever thought of working for the Morocco tourist board?
rethinks plan to visit morocco...
*ambles back off to work waving*

i agree owl
'Bye Aloy.
Bye Aloy..dont work too hard
TO - We were saying that will still keep trying it in the hope the Enable will have changed its mind!
bye alo!
It's capitalized - enable is sniffy about capital letters.
jacs - did you finish? bravo!
I did, TO. *bows*
hey ppl how many wrods are we findin today??
but it's a hairstyle! why would that be caps?
168 words today
I need the pe 6/21 to finish please?
Because it relates to Africa, as in Afro-Caribbean.
Howdy Cait
is the pe gas?
lol -- that's what I thought, hurshy and jilli also agrees
clue for the fr 6 please x
still, it's been a hairstyle for decades - it needs a no cap version for that.
Sorry, the first pe 6/21
pe6/21 - seabird & pe6/21 vehicle fuel.
pe6 is either gas oline or a seabird
pe 6 -- a bird -- change last vowel of the gas
Hi bunny!!
fr6: chop off the ending of a word for trivial
The first pe6/21 is French for father, then two vowels.
I have those two as my last pe 6/21's, but I have a pe 6/21 between to hit and perky. Is it a variation of the gas or bird?
bunny - French for father + 2 vowels.
Bunny - take the first three letters of the perky one, then three vowels, all different, ending in the first.
Oh, Haz just said that! I must be on a go slow here.
Have you finished, btw, Haz?
Yes, I have, Jacula. A bit of a struggle at the end!
I didn't understand the fr 6 clue? Help, please.
Congrats, Haz.
Yee haw, done (I really need to learn french!!). Thank for your help. It's a pretty day, I'm going out to be destructive. Ya'll have a great afternoon!
gramma - fr6 - if you spent money on fripperies you might be told not to be so fr****ous.
The fr6 is usually seen as part of a longer word. F plus the r word meaning enemy or competitor, but change the last vowel.
Bye bunny..have a good day
'Bye bunny.
Bye bunny - I only remembered after I posted that you don't like 'language' clues!
Yay bunny & bye.
george banks didn't want jane and michael spending their time in worthless fr6ity (it is high time they learned the seriousness of life!)
ty, Haz. I'm not getting it yet. I'll keep trying
Time I got back to the kitchen. Have stew vegs to prepare for tomorrow's dinner & chips to cut for tonight's. Also made a harvest crumble (from what fruits were left in the garden) & some cherry scones today.

hello all, I need a clue for the la 6/27, please...
hey chic!
Hey Temple!
span: actually i was making fun of that - as if i'd use that in everyday conversation! we learn as we go...if you click on the ? marks you get the definition. usually.
spanner for a word like that use the letter count yl4/7, there are very few letter options it could be.
chic, i have been in the movie theather where the blob was filmed. i used to live n chester country pa
Yup I know that, but you have to know the word in the first place. I generally resort to just typing in anything and see if a word comes up....
chic la 6/27 extend the la 4/5
works for me! ; )
spanner thats how we work (or our monkeys do)
I didn't know it spanner just got the count from licketys list
yes spanner, that's called monkey-typing. I myself couln't finish a grid without it
or couldn't, as the case may be
Glad to hear Im not the only one...there I was thinking I was in the company of at least one genius...
Ahhh spanner, you are my dear.

Dunno tor Ive seen the rankings....
YW chic...I didnt know i had lost my internet connection for a few minutes
spanner how long have you been playing babble?
I am ashamed to say about 3 months, and no improvement yet!!!! LOL
I bet you are doing better than you think...some words just appear so often we look for them as you will
I have a minor celebration everyday I get 1/2 of the words (rare) and I cracked open a bottle yesterday when I found my first word ever that was over 6 letters!!!!!
Thats great spanner although im worried when you get your 1st 8 or more letter word!!!LOL
spanner, maybe if you quit drinking, you'd find more. Or maybe if you drank more you wouldn't care if you found more.
good job, spanner, its been almost a month for me...and iv come up wit an 8letter wrd already!!
I did it yesterday. It just leapt at me...but I woke up with a blinding head this morning....*winks*

Tennis players always seemed pretty focused, but still human. Not like some athletes... (spoken as a person who avoided any and all competitive sports all her life)
will do dachef..looking forward to a visit
Tennis is a very mental game, and I am quite "mental". LOL
ROFL, scrabbler! how's the rabbit farm doing? did they like all the visitors after that snowstorm?

Clue for re5/10, pls
Andree, adding a vowel to the vermin isn't getting me anywhere... I may just be hopelessly stupid tonight.
I'm finding Circuit City charges TWICE what Amazon does for the exact same maker/model memory cards.
Andree! I got it! Thanks!
Grant -- I don't have the re5, sorry. ;(
Help! Can't monkey either J word!!!

hee hee... :)
think one of donald Duck's nephews
Hi, everyone. Cannot leave this grid until the two "y"s are found. Have the tuber. Cannot monkey the others. Help??
that camera I reccomended seemed the best fit for you, but there are a lot of good cameras in that same style. You may find another that you like better, or is on sale or something. But that style (an EVF) can offer great quality, without tons of money
yl+ first two initials of authoress dickinson, then plural
Thanks again grant. You are a great help.
Grant-re5/10: to rerent, as an apartment..or to re-allow
Thanks, redhatter. I knew someone would pull me out. Must go watch political returns. Will re-attack later.
Good clues, Summer, I never would have gotten that.
yw, have a good evening
It depends on who does the most damage! I have to look the "y" words up, first. Thanks, again.
Thank you, Pappa. I don't understand "EVF"? The only flaws people mention with the P880 are that it's a bit hard on batteries, and that it doesn't have blur protection (jiggle protection).
Scarlet, where are you? Which races?
np :)
I'm in NC, but am watching the PA races with bated breath, as well as some other key races. The NC races are critical, too. Wooowwweee
EVF is electronic viewfinder... that means that it will capture video as well... and yes, those cameras are not light on batteries.
they offer very high quality (not as good as an SLR with removable lenses) but for the average consumer, it will offer much better quality and features thatn a regular point and shoot, for not all that muiuch more money. They have only the one lens, but they are normally very good quality with an impresive zoom range.
Breeze44- thanks for bustin' my brain block
but they work sort of like a video camera... the veiwfinder will always be running when the camera is on, and the picture is sort of like the equivalent of a screen shot. that's why they drain batteries quickly
Ah, thank you again, Pappa! :) And the video captures all capture sound as well? I note that Kodak sells a lens adapter, so I assume I could add lenses if necessary...but I'm not that good. :)
Scarlet, I'm watching PA too, though I live in VA.
yw lol
I need the 1st or 2nd po5/12. I have the things used with skis. Please.
te5, anyone? I'm too full of election returns to do a good job counting points here! :)

i've been away for a week, leaving husband and kids home NOTHING is dirtier than my bathroom right now, not even politics
I have too much junk in there, perfume bottles and such, makes it a pain to clean but nowhere else to keep all that!
yicky. Is that why you were AWOL from the chat for so long?
yes i left my lap top at home so the kids could do their homework (so they said)
I usually pile all the knicknacks in a plastic tub, clean the counter and then wipe them off as I put them back... but today I am only going to "hit the high spots" and call it good.
:-) I just sent my elder kid to clean half their bathroom -- then the younger can clean his half. I only go in there when I must.
And this same child (the elder) conveniently forgot his math book, so he will not be able to do his homework this evening. His grades are reflecting his attitude, I am afraid.
noce to know that other kids act like mine stid
How many are on here today?
okay, down to 50 words. Going to hit the bathroom and brb (already swept and took care of the shower, won't take long)
168
MSNBC just called Casey over Santorum.
168 Leviathon
Hello everyone! How is babbleland? i've missed babbling
Ok thanks.
Hi Luwanda! how are you this evening?
Scarlet, I promised to report and not comment here so write me! Ankhorite@verizon.net!!
Katy, do you play tangleword?
Stid, I'm ashamed to admit it, I do the same thing. And my plastic tub has been on the floor for two days.
never have heard of it. is it fun?
Yep.. just asking because someone has the same username as you
Just without then umbers
ahhhh, there are a lot of us. that's why i use the numbers.
Hi, Luwanda, nice to meetcha.
i'm avoiding papers that need grading. so i escaped to babbleland after too long away

CNN just declared Sherrod Brown D wins Ohio over Dewine R for U.S. Senate
re 5/10 to assign your apt lease to someone else.
Yahoo!!! Ankorite
re5/10 - rent out again -- or allow again
ty katy can't see the forest for the trees
hi Luwanda, glad to see you back again!
:D
Shhhh, Luwanda, I promised to report but I promised not to favor either side so fights don't break out in the chat. :) :)
opps! uh that was just a yahoo for any winner?
oh sure, luwanda!
nice save luwanda.
^^giggles with one hand firmly over her own mouth^^
stidmama, been extremely busy with school, children, grandchildren and parents - life
CNN is all atwitter, will release more results in six minutes.
a belated hi all -- I have one eye on CNN and the other on chat -- makes me look funny but there's nobody here but me and my cat and she's asleep under the bed
any hints on the fo 8 please
I hear that! the last two weeks I barely had time to babble in the evenings...
Jilli, you care about our electoral contortions?
hey everryone !
stepping out for a bit. back later.
Bichon, it's a sex thing.
Hiya, Helen!
bichon -- compound word preceding "romance"
jilli - I've just had an e-mail from your cat telling me you're scaring the life out of her & so she's hiding under the bed.:)
I know about that, thanx
Hi again, everyone.
hahaha jac!
Hello there, Mistress of the Dark!
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
love your icon, jac!!!
jillibus, be careful cats are smarter than you think. s/he is probably secretly cheering on her fav. candidate
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
hello minveryork and welcome back
jilli - I've been using this icon all day, but it did seem kind of appropriate just.
Hi jillibus! How are you doing? Did you finish the grid?
oh I know how smart cats are but my poor dear is 17 and rather deaf
hiya minver, jacula, ankh, jili, et al
'I heard that!' (*from jilli's cat*)
she can still vote. no age discriminations
hi hk!!
Hi Minver, Hell etc.
75 to go here. who's up for a race
ah, but you see, luwanda, she's canadian like me so no vote
Okay, more results, remember, no comments other than "Hmmm" and no fighting! CNN now projects that PA, Bob Casey D beats Rick Santorum for Senate.
Can't race you, Hell. I finished at 11:16am site time.
gotta run for awhile, bb later to finish the last 25 words!
me me me, helen (I've finished already so I win, ha ha)
Okay, more results, remember, no comments other than "Hmmm" and no fighting! CNN now projects Kay Bailey Hutchison R re-elected in Texas; Hillary Clinton re-elected in NY.
See you Katy... and don't forget those books!
Congratulations on your early finish Jacula! Hooray!
Minnesota for US Senate, a D win. Nelson D projected winner in Nebraska, Kohl D re-elected in Wisc. and I can't keep up.
jil cat's don't count they're universal
hmmmmmmmHmHmHmHmHmHmHMHMHMHMHMHMHMHMHM HMHMHMHMHMHMHMHMHMHMHMHMHMHM
LOL, Egg!
yahoo for all winners
oh good -- I'll wake her up and take her to Seattle
Tactful tactful Luwanda! :)
la 6 anyone
No comment on the elections since I'm in UK and it's none of my beeswax.
amazing - they are reporting blagoyavich re-elected governer with 1% of the vote in, with him getting 44%, the rep 44% & the green 11% - on 1 % reporting ???? seriously????? must be that stinkin' new math they never covered in my phd level statistics course
Jilli, I swear, a deaf cat wouldn't have missed a thing in this electoral cycle.
Thanks you Eggcorn! Now the chat log is expanded. Oh well!
NPR is reporting that Trent Lott has been reelected and Eliot Spitzer(D) is taking the new york governorship
tsk tsk tsk .... swearing on election night?
Helen. Get a grip. It's ILLINOIS. They predict all kinds of things based on 1%. Doesn't mean they are right. Adlai Stevenson lost to Jim Thompson there by three-quarters of one point some years back.
Bloomin' chatlog's gone wide now! Reloading didn't help!
that's not a comment on politics, it is a comment on mathematics :)
Mine too, Jac!
now I have to scroll sideways on the chat log - pain in the ar**
la 6? please
goodmorning
It should go back to normal after the first wide message leaves the scroll.
Helen, math in Illinois politics isn't like math anywhere else in the world.
bichon - la6 - in the hobbling la4/5 fashion.
fireworks
ankh - i know, i know, it just pisses me off that the talking heads need their air-time when just plain air would be preferred
Jilli were you here last night when i went on my finding a bus mission
Well done, Sheryl!
la6 is the adverbial form of the preceding la4/5
thanx Jac
YAY sheryl!!!
jili - me too, what happened, my chat wasn't like this when i started playing?
TY, Jilli, for the adverb.
Congratulations Sherylr1961 on your fireworks! YAY!
LOL ankh
Hell - it was the long, continous 'hmm' that did it.
Helen, someone entered a really long word as a joke and it widened the chat.
don't know, helen -- it suddenly changed and I didn't give it permission -- the cheek!
*continuous
Somebody entered an EXTRA LONG message in to the log and it expanded the chat log. It has happened before. Should go away after that person message leaves the chat log.
leal
so if we use tiny words will it change back?
well night all been a long day, happy hunting
Any long message without spaces will do that.
CNN notes Santorum spent 25 million & was #3 in the Senate, and lost in what they are calling "a landslide" against a seriously underfunded opponent.
jilli guess what
'Bye Sheryl. Sleep well.
OH Senate race just went to the democrat
Night, Sheryl! I wish, Jilli.
Who says, Natasha?
night guys
yea sheryl
What channel?
jilli - Once eggcorn's message has scrolled off, if should do.
NPR ankh
Goodbye Sherylr1961! I'll see you tomorrow in the log
sorry, no TV I'm streaming radio on internet
Okay, the chat log is back to normal again, thank God
Does anybody have a clue for the po 4/5 word please
phew!!
hello Min! welcome to the grid! :-)
Actually, I need the third po 4/5 word if you have it.
Minver - po4/5 - rhymer.
Okay, more results, remember, no comments other than "Hmmm" and no fighting! CNN says can't tell about Ford Senate race in Tenn, only 11% in. Ill Governor, Blag over Topinka by 45 to 44, but they don't have all precincts. Virginia Senate still too tight to call with about 60% of precincts in.
JILLI GUESS WHAT
min - I have 6 po4/5s...
po4/5 - ball game played on the biggest pitch of all ball games (with horses).
I have that one Jacula,thanks. I need the 3rd po4/5.
Or a brand of mint.
What, herinf???
Hi stid! How are you doing? I came on just as you left
Yeah, but it was funny when Egg did it. Lieberman 49%, Lamont 40%, Republican Schlesinger 10% so far.
I might have got the bus for the doggy rescue people
That was the one I needed Jacula!Thank you so much
hi, all!
y/w, Minver. Now don't forget to plural it.
hi Pam!
NPR has dems in control of house at this point, repubs in control of senate--lots yet to call.
Hi pam.
Oh, herinf -- I don't think I was there with the bus thing -- please fill me in!!! Something to do with Danes?
CNN giving it to Lieberman, who says he will caucus with Democrats.
hi everyone! I'm back
Be upset with me if you will ..... no need to invoke God ... I have already confessed.
Hello Reese's.
hi Reese's! how did today go for you?
Bus -- doggy rescue-- huh?
Hello Pam & Reese's? How are we doing this fine nite?
Oh i thought you were there last night when i went on a bus mission.
Hi Reese's -- I have to leave for a few -- back really soon...
no herinf -- what happened?
Don't worry Eggcorn, God will forgive your "sin" LOL!
Well, *I* thought it was funny, Eggcorn!
hi pam and reese's
There is a doggy rescue group in the next state and they need a bus for a puppy room. So I asked a company and they said they might help
I have 107 left and my mom is helping me, she signs on to mine while i'm on and helps
Awww, nice, Infernal!
cool herin!
good for you, lady!
hi Reese's mom! and go Reese's go!
yes, go on, herinf....I'll stick around for the rest, and good for you!
My gran always said the worst thing that anyone can say is no. Also last night i thought 'always look forward, not behind as you can end up bitting your own arse
i don't know what is more interesting, the grid, House, or the election results, LOL
a "puppy room"? Is that the same as a puppy mill?
good philosohy
whats a puppy room or puppy mill for that matter?
Does anyone have a clue for the or 5/12 word please
help i can't get the pe6,21's ...
A puppy mill, I imagine, is like a puppy farm.:((
god no. They resuce dogs from the pound that have been neglected. Sometimes they get puppys that are pregnant and about to pop. A puppy mill is a horrible place. Reese google it. I cant say it upsets me too much
A puppy mill is a disgusting place where dogs are bred repeatedly with no concern for health or temperament and sold in pet shops
like a place where they breed puppies?
a puppy mill is where they breed dogs indiscriminately, and sell the puppies without caring who buys them.
Minver - or + a floppy-eared rabbit.
Txs, Jac.
stid - my guess was right then.:(
thanks Jacula, that was the last O on that side for me. Now I need two more ....
pe 6 - my uncle used to call gasoline pe****
A "puppy room" is a place within a pound or a kennel where puppies are kept, safe from the larger dogs. A puppy MILL or puppy FARM is a bad place, a puppy room is not.
This company also rescues those dogs too. Anyway this is a happy note thing. I hope they get it as it will change the puppies lives
Herinfernal -- did the bus people supply a vehicle? Wherre are the puppies to go?
Dorrit - pe6/21 = French for 'father' + 2 vowels. pe6/21 (next) = seabird. pe6/21 (next) = vehicle fuel.
thats cruel and wrong. its discrimination against the poor puppies. :( :(
sa 5/16 and so 5/10..pls
Moreover, puppy mills are known for overbreeding, breeding dogs that are too young and too old, and for poor care
lady, I am glad people are able to rescue the pregnant dogs and their babies. I always wondered.
ty jacula!!!
So anyway i didn't want to bum anyone out. This is good news
y/w, Dorrit.
Meanwhile these unanted puppies are getting little socialisation, etc. Moral -- buy purebred pups from reliable breeders as if you were adopting a child.
rockinggramma - sa5/16 - burst of gunfire.
good advice jill
moral--don't buy dogs and encourage any breeding, go to a shelter and adopt a homeless dog
rockinggramma - so5/10 - French for 'sun'.
i used to drive my dad nuts bringing home strays
Never every buy a dog.
pam - my dog came to me as a stray and so did both of my cats. Even most of the rabbits and g/pigs were rescues.
dogs, cats, possums, reccoons, etc
8-), Jac
Stid they have a fox terrier that just had puppys and they have just got in a staffy about to pop. These people are found at www.cordysrescue.com. You will be warned before anypics that are bad.
I used to bring home kitties
field mice from the barn
If you must have a purebred, go to a breed rescue league, like http://www.mdgsprescue.org for your breed and your region.
so5/10 - gramma - knock the last letter off the French sun. It's really a plural muscle.
injured songbirds and then i would cry when they didn't survive. i'm beginning to understand his frustrations. lol
LOL luwanda!
got the so 5/10..thnx..but the sa 5/16
Luw your poor parents, oh well, i think we need to be kind to animals as you may come back in the next life as one
I didn't
rockinggramma - then think of an ointment (or sa***) and change the last letter.
My dear dear departed Dog was a puppy mill ho'. They bred her and bred her... she had half champion lines, half puppy mill lines. But Jilli, I understand wanting to buy from a breeder, especially if you show; but I have to rescue my own from a breed league, because I know what happens to them if I don't.
sorry if i distructed everyone. Meant to be good news to tell you.
Lots of animals out there with broken lives just looking for love and kindness.
Infernal, we're all a buncha softies. :)
Hey part of me is in the grid!
You said it, Ankh!
thnx...got it
LOL, Reese, there you are!
very true- ankhorite
saly
Mind you, in the case of my cats, I think it was, 'There's a mug! Let's move in with her!' LOL
Dems just took another house seat--in KY this time.
sorry
rockinggramma - nearly there. Try a vowel next time.
cool, natasha
yep, i cry all the time at things, thats a cat for you jack
Okay, more results, remember, no comments other than "Hmmm" and no fighting! CNN now projects that moderate R Lincoln Chafee has lost his Senate seat to a Dem named Whitehouse, in Rhode Island.
opps jac
reese's and mom. I am addicted to your icon
for health reasons only
sorry all, phone rang, but I have been keeping up. I tend to bring home strays, but as I said earlier, my Tom has finally put his foot down. No more "kids" of any kind until the human ones are out of the house!
Um does this mean the rebulics are lossing? Sorry to bring up politics
LOL luwanda ty too!
herinfern - I answer to all sorts, so don't worry about the 'jack'.;)
Infernal, yes, but they have not lost the Senate yet -- still too many races undecided.
lady -- it really is too early to call. The polls don't close here for another hour and a half, a little longer in some of the flooded areas. Hawaii has most of the day remaining!
mmm interesting. There is flooding?
Gee i need to go read the post
But we promised to just report, not make partisan comments, cuz we don't want to do that in chat. But you can always write me @verizon.net to do that!
well, I need to eat something. oh yes, lady -- see my icon? LOL back soon.
Jac - Can you see if this link will work for you...http://www.google.ca/search?sour ceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=HPIA,HPIA: 2005-21,HPIA:en&q=find+a+chinese+name
yahoo for all winners. sorry, i coun't help myself ;)
Okay, more results, remember, no comments other than "Hmmm" and no fighting! CNN now projects that in Indiana, Donnelly-D has beaten "Chicola" (sp??) R and will be next Congressman.
oh were is this?
autumn moon - Yes, the link works.
i wonder where greengeeny is tonight?
Had to C&P it in 3 parts though.
oh stid i like the pic, fish gotta swim i suppose
My uncle said that this would probably be the best way for you to pick your own name
Stid, your icon is HORRIFYING!
It's not like the 'write your name in Russian' link I was sent the other day, is it?
The first one that shows up has a fill in the blank.
lol jacula - my name looks darned good in russian !!!
hi hk
Okay, more results, remember, no comments other than "Hmmm" and no fighting! CNN now projects that in Maryland, black Republican Michael Steele has lost to Cardin, a Dem for U.S. Senate.
sorry to bug out like that earlier, hubby wanted to look at pics i had developed
hiya reese
Who sent you the link, Hell? I sent it to Haz. Did she send it on? Or did I post it on here??
i realy need to go. i've avoided reality too llong. must grade papers. good night all
CNN is also showing a "dirty tricks" ballot on camera re the Steele-Cardin race but if you want details, write to me off-chat @verizon.net.
bye luwanda!
Night, Teach! :)
oh that reminds me i gotta check my online diary
bye luw
jacula - i had to go & check, but it was as i thought, sent to me by someone not babble-related
actually, Ankh -- it's a common sight this time of year! One year, when I was working in the state elections dept I walked around Capitol Lake after parking my car and had to side-step a 2-foot long male...
helen- Part of, or most of me, is in the grid today
Hell - my Mum's friend sent the link to me.
good night Luwanda!
lol rees
fa 5/16?
'Bye luw.
just a bit of a plug for reliable purebred dog breeders. None of their pups or adults should ever be available for rescue. If there is a problem with the buyer, the reliable breeder will take the dog back and find a new good home for it.
male WHAT, Stid???
we are all learning the russsian alphabet, LOL
a male salmon, Ankh! it was on the sidewalk...
hey everybody!!
Nat - fa5/16 - not near + French masculine for 'the'.
amelvo
hi greeny
sorry
Hi greengeeny. Someone was asking after you not long ago.
^^agrees with Jilli^^ but so many people can't tell the difference between a reputable breeder and a backyard mill... *sigh*
french plural, you mean
greengeeny- i was just asking where you were!
Can you eat the male salmon? Or only the girls, or does it not matter?
hi greeny!
i have 104 left
thanks jac
so true about the breeders. so hard to find a good one!
jilli - that's the fa6/27.
I feel very important!!! How are you reeses?
good
and hey everybody else!
hi greengeeny! I've been perched on my soapbox and missed your arrival -- sorry
y/w, Nat.
Jac, clue me fa6??
I still have 80 words left to go...hey jilli
45 to go, but I'm all electoral tonight, not gonna finish.
Ankh - fa6 = not near + French masculine plural 'the'.
fa 6 - not near + not more
brb
TY, Jac!
Voting tonight was terrible...the lines were crazy...we had quite a few issues that were important to everyone over in my neck of the woods...
y/w, Ankh.
jac? fa6/27 is meaningless according to the dictionary -- so what do you mean?
An issue about banning smoking in public places...about casinos being in downtown cleveland...raising the minimum wage...
jilli - I was breaking down the word into 2 parts.
Reporting, not commenting, exit polls show voters ranked IN THIS ORDER: corruption terrorism economy (i think; pretty sure) and THEN fourth: war in Iraq
and well done too, jac, as long as that was the french pl! Peope have just said fr masc
However, jilli - fa4/7, alt. spelling fa5/16 & plural 6/27 = A thin Scottish griddle cake made of oatmeal or flour and cut into triangular wedges.
Each wedge is also known as a fa4/7 or fa5/16.
My monkey apparently doesn't like Scots griddlecakes.
Does anyone have a clue for the fo 8/70 word please?
oh, yeah, jac -- and we used to call them just oatcakes
1st and 2nd mo 5/12..pls
hey, Stid - just saw the news - are you having flooding where youlive?
minver -- sexy beginning
are triangular wedges best flr triangular doors?
Minver - prelude (if you're lucky) to sex.
Minver, before sex!
Oh, Jac, so young, so jaded.... LOL!
best clue, jac!
ai7/40 ends in the same way (with the drama). It's radio time for a record.
haha jac!
Does anyone have a clue for the ai 7/32 word please?
Ankh - Not me! I was just repeating what someone same age as myself said earlier in the log... others agreed... and then I privately thought, 'Ooh! I must be lucky!' ;)
or is it imaginary fo8???
ai7/32 - where planes are found.
Thank you for the ai clues!I finished my ai words now
Does anyone havea clue for the av 6/33 word please
^^giggling at Jac's revelation^^
fo8/40 is as much mind and wordpl4/7 as it is physical.;)
can I have a clue for the av6?
Where are birds kept, Minver, Green?
av6 -- full of birds
Ankh - glad to have brought you pleasure. Erm... so to speak.
mo 5/12 - burrowing animal ***e + **l is well that ends well ..... same first four letters and plural
and you brought me envy, jac
ty
Speaking of av6/33s - Hunting Cat has brought about his 7th female greenfinch home tonight. We're beginning to think the worst...
Sorry, jilli!:(
the 1st pe 6/21
they just called rhode island for the democratic senate candidate. The senate is currently 45 repub, 43 dems and 2 independent
those am words are making me crazy; pls help
I'm so glad my dear old cat has never hunted a bird -- just watches them peacefully
hi jillibus little silver here!
Does anyone have a clue for the ea 5/10 word please
hi again little siver!
I need that one too
ea 5/10, what an artist uses
*silver
Never mind! I just got the ea 5/10 word. Thank you!
pe 6 is a bird story ..... different vowel than the other 6
the 1st pe 6/21
pe6/21 (1st) = French for 'father' + 2 vowels.
the a words are a + burrowing blind animal and pl
thnx, Jilli
thanx eggcorn
yw phan!
Oh, Jac! Greenfinch! We have goldfinches here; Dog caught one, and when Daddy said "DROP!" she released it and IT FLEW AWAY with one helluva story to tell the other birdies for the rest of its life!
What a Good Dog!
Ankh - sometimes it's possible to do that with the cat, not by saying, 'DROP!', unfortunately.
Okay, more results, remember, no comments other than "Hmmm" and no fighting! CNN now projects that Arizona has passed "english as official language" (for our international friends, be advised that there are Native Americans there who don't speak English; and Hispanic immigrants, likewise).
Thank you, Jilli. Sorry, Jac. *wince*
Oh dear, Ankh.
Hmmm, as a former visitor to AZ with snowbird friends
Does anyone have a clue for the ar 5/16 word please
There are four U.S. Senate races still open; Dems need three to take over the Senate (or need all four, as Lieberman, who has won, ran as an Independent)
Minver - plural of the ar4/7 before it. (Australian slang for 'afternoon/s'.)
ar5/16 is pl of ar4/7
ankh, the VT senator is independent as well--do you know if he's declared which party he'll caucus with? am I getting too political for the chat?
Failing that, it's ar + half of one of the rodents in the grid, but plural.
I had heard it was an aussie word but didn't know what it mwant -- thanks jac!
Jac, Jilli, why? What's the etymology on that, do you know? Natasha, he and the Socialist always caucus with the Dems.
thnx egg...clues for pl 5/14 and re 5/12..pls
Actually, I need the other ar 5/16 word if you have it
the front half of the rodent.
Minver, the same, and plural.
Ankh - I can't comment on US politics. Am from UK and so it's not my business.
ar + napa ***ley
ar5.16 (other one) ar + little Valerie.
Okay, more results, remember, no comments other than "Hmmm" and no fighting! CNN now projects that Utah, Orrin Hatch R is re-elected. Cannot predict Montana Senate race yet. Santorum is conceding RIGHT NOW on CNN.
why what, ankh?
Jac, I was asking for your comment on Aussie slang, LOL!!!
Why does ar** mean afternoon, Jilli & Jac?
Thank you for the ar clues. Finished my ar words now
jac -- yes, myob, but we in Canada live next to an elephant and if it rolls around we get squished
LOL, Jilli, Jac, I wasn't asking you about politics, only about how ar** came to mean afternoon, I swear!
Ankh - Oh. LOL. Sorry! Well, it's just an Aussie thing to add an 'o' to things. Makes sense to me, in a way. There again, I grew up hearing as many Ausies speak as 'Yanks'. No offence meant there.
hi everyone! : )
HI again, TO.
anyone get la6,27?
hiya to!
^^apologizes to Jilli for being large, dangerous, and inconsiderate neighbor^^
Hello 72 Temple Owl! How are you doing? Are you done
ankh - my guess is aussie creative pronunciation!
Hello Dorrit! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
jilli - know what you mean about the pachyderm.
Ahh, thank you both, J-ladies!
pl 5/14 and re 5/12...pls?????
Dorrit - la6/27 - adjective of hobbling la4/5 before it.
bad bad news for us, ankh - to lose the third ranking rep in the senate. this will not bode well and as someone who narrowly kept her job through politcian's fight once - it's bad to lose santorum i think he's an arrogant prig but the alternative was untenable.
yay thank you jacula
y/w, Dorrit.
Hi, TO! I promised not to talk about it here, but if you write me @verizon.net, I can answer... :)
hell = my choice for congress was between an old scholl philadelphia democrat who want sto perpetuate a welfare state and - and this is no joke - RAJ from "The Apprentice"
rockinggramma - pl5/14 - at a seance, you might see ectopl***.
I never watched The Apprentice; what was his shtick?
skort chaser was the only talent he evinced...
gramma - re5/12 - short way of saying reproduction, as in furniture etc.
sorry Jac...I don't get the clue
i didn't watch the apprentice either - but seriously, was there a background in politics involved?
i mean skirt but your post about santorum got to me. sorry all.
I mean clue for pl 5/14
50 left...how are you doing reeses? are you still there?
no need to apologize to - it's a free country
phone -- but back now
i am the person who generally leaves when the bush-bashing begins because i know i will say something that will offend
Haven't you ever worn a skort? they were popular even for adult women in the 1970's, still popular in resorts --a pair of shorts with a skirt-like flap in the front.
gramma -- re5/12 - re + not amateur
yeah i look awful in them
oh hello again, i just walked in on skorts, i know them and i think i may have worn one
the ri 5/14?
So it appears that more than hmmmm is entering the chat .... yeah free country
Oh, TO, wasn't a comment favoring or disfavoring -- tonight, the deal is I report the wins/losses as called, but we all just say hmmm.
I like kilts on men A LOT.
well ankh - in that case hmmmmmmmmm
I keep hoping the Utili-kilt will get popular... esp for guys wearing those thick socks with construction worker boots. :)
the ri 5/14?
ankh - nothing personal - but i never did, & never would agree to such a deal
I got the re 5/12...I don't understand the clue for pl 5/14

Political chat always welcome in my mailbox, @verizon.net :)
any clue for the last pe6/21? I think someone might have said it was a bird but I still couldn't get it.
No, you're not seeing it! It has been on my icon before though.
but no one needs our manpower nor $ anymore
Mooch, like gas, change last vowel to get bird.
Aw, Jac, you knew we were gonna ask.
la 6 pls?
Mooch - last pe6/21 is vehicle fuel (not diesel but UK word for gas). Seabird before it has different vowel before last letter.
nm
Okay, more results, remember, no comments other than "Hmmm" and no fighting! CNN showing LaMont concession RIGHT NOW
lamely
oh darn it
la6 is an adjective based on the la4 before it
finished
pe6/21 is a stormy bird
thanx all, finally found it!
Well done, Scatty.
Congratualtions scatty on your fireworks!Good for U
hat's the one, phandmd.
CNN: last four Senate races too close to call, Missouri, Montana, Tennessee, Virginia.
ankh - that rule is only for us citizens i surmise?
*That's.
Which rule?
re no comment on politics
hi jacula, i have never known that someone could hoard so much stuff over 25 years
wtg scatty!
Oh. Well, I don't get to make the rules here. :) But I put up the results to keep people informed, and hoped not to start fights.
This election is so bitter, I was pretty sure that even the friendliest discussion would wind up hurting feelings, and I didn't wanna go there.
As I said a couple of nights ago, I never discuss religion or politics with friends. I have 2 students of politics in the house (so their Dad and me must've done something right!)
Thnx for the clues everybody....Fireworks for me
the re 5/10?
Yay, Gramma!
Ankh - you were quite right to do what you did. Just results and no discussions.
well done gramma
What is so difficult to understand? If you want to talk, no one can stop you. Ankhorite is trying to avoid an argument.
Congratulations rockimggramma on fireworks! YAY!!
Well done, rockinggramma!*~*~*~*~*
to mo they've already started. iwouldn;'t presume to comment on elections in uk or other countries. in all honesty i rsent it when citizens of other countries meddle in mine.
Cograts, rockinggranna!!!!
Cograts, rockinggranna!!!!
Bichon - re5/10 - to lease again.
re= if your last tennents have left you have to re*** the flat
Hi Scatty - just read your hoarding post. What was that about?
Ogden Nash before skorts:
Oh, Temple, I am always grateful for the outside perspective... on anything! That's why I like Babble so much, because Jac and Jilli and all the others tell me about a world I will never see, and hardly ever hear from. I cherish them for that!
Ankh - Aw! ((HUGS)))
anyone have pr 6/21???
anyone have pr 6/21???
ankh i am not angry at you
Egg - who were you talking to in your last post, 'What is so hard to understand?'
as we are moving into a lot smaller house, i am having to go through all my things, we emptied the attic yesterday, what a pile of junk, why we kept half the stuff, god only knows
awww ank thats really sweet i feel the same way!
msilver - pr6/21 is plural of the pr5 before it. 'The common people.'
repeat -- Ogden Nash: Sure, deck your lower limbs in pants; Yours are the limbs, my sweeting.
Okay, more results, remember, no comments other than "Hmmm" and no fighting (please?) CNN now projects that Republican 4th Congressional District of Tennesee will stay Republican.
pr6 is the pl of pr5
Ok
You look divine as you advance-- Have you seen yourself retreating?
Jilli I got an A+ on my world cultures test it was about Canada
amen jili!

YAY! Dear One just came home so I will be leaving the chat to watch election returns snuggy on the couch... thank you for the chat and clues... Jac, Jilli, I meant every word! (((Babble))) POOF!!!
BYE ankh!
scatty - my attic is a fire hazard for sure! What's up there? Half my life... book girls at work gave me when I got married, my favourite maternity dress, my favourite babygro each of my kids wore, favourite little baby dress my daughter wore, my very own first doll (bald, after I 'hairdressed' her!), things I've written (though I doubt I'll ever be famous enough for anyone to make any money from the originals with the editing and the crossing outs), my grandmothers' (both) stuff, my great grandmother's stuff... and more.
bye ankh and thankhs -- :-)
wow jac thats a lot
ty
msilver - that's not even half of it!:(
Maybe theres hope for some publishing?
jac - I'm a packrat and when I moved here I had to get rid of so much stuff but managed to keep the memories
LOL
Hello babblers!
I'm a packrat too
hi tingy!
I have this teddy bear I've had it since the woom! i love him
msilver -- when's your birthday? Jac and I are both Taurus - does that make us packrats?
Idk im an aries
right im off. I have to do school work and there is sod all why im getting it done at the moment.
well ladies, it is not like me to not finish a grid...but I am really tired, it was a long day at work...I am turning in...see ya tomorrow
ssshhh msilver -- I still have an old teddybear too, hidden in a box
jilli - I can keep the memories (like the old Melanie Safka song goes, 'What do I keep? What do I throw away?...' Well, unless I go senile like my Dad did. I think the keepings are more for my children and possible future grandchildren.
lol
i have him in my room
greengeeny - Do it myself sometimes. Perfectly understandable. See you when you are refreshed.
the sa 6/27 please, please
good night geeny
msilver -- I'm just a bit older than you are -- LOL!
News Break!!!! My mom had the bear since 1984!
lol
bichon it's a flower
just al little
:P
bye for now, geeny!
msilver - Shock! Horror! My first child was born in 1984.
bye geeny
i'm a throw-nothing-away libra & i too still have my teddy bear i've had since i was in my mommies tummy plus that bear has traveled with me all over the world & still does
my teddy is a Stieff, circa 1930
My older sis was born in 87
i am having to be really brutal this time as we don't have enough storage and jon said that apart from the leggo, cars, kids teddies and photo's nothing else is going up there, as we won't use any of it. i have kept all the school reports etc and have managed to keep my wedding dress that Jon said to get rid as won't fit my daughter, we have thrown clothes, shoes, cosmetics, as our new bedroom fits the bed in and not alot out, our bed is huge
Good for you and the bear, Hell!
sa -- mineo + a ***duct ... bult by Romans to transport water
ta da! thanks
salvia
I sent my wedding dress to a charity shop. Kept the veils and other stuff though.
I want to wear a Vera Wang dress
After the divorce, didn't think the wedding dress would be very 'lucky' for my daughter, even if remade.:(
scatty - have you making some more room by getting rid of jon ;)
they're so gorgeous, its mind blowing
thought about it
bichon - yes, the sa plant counts.
or Badgley & Mishcka
I threw my 1947 postwar wedding dress out -- it looked good at the time but the available postwar fabrics didn't last well
:P I like vintage
scatty - how many of your children are still living with you?
;P
i told him to throw away his trophys as they are always away in a cupboard somewhere, it was as though i had told him to kill the dogs
scatty - i left out the word "considered" but i see you got my drift, lol
LOL scat!!! men!
think I'd better go get some supper
what time is it there Jilli
goodbye jili
Scatty - roflol! (Really)
i made him sort out his clothes yesterday, things he hadn't worn since we have lived here,(6 years) , two bin bags later
What star sign is Jon, Scatty?
Oh, I kept my dad's silver trophies -- they are historical -- eg, a little flask for winning a camel race in Peking (Beijing now) in 1924 -- and I've used it, too
i love that bill clinton stands behind hilary, clapping for her, as she gives her acceptance speech - yay for girls!
Wow, thats really cool Jilli
airy
jilli - what did you put in it?
msilver, it's 7:36 pm November 7
he wanted to keephis sand boots from when he was in the RAF as well, i said and when are you going to waer them then, they eventually went in the recycle bin
sorry... typing in the wrong box!! ;-(
you know, jac -- vodka, of course!
oh wow
10:38 Nov. 07
Hilary knows what constitutes 'sex' but her hubby does not, from what I read of the Lewnisky stuff.:(
jon is gemini and i am scorpian
my daughter-in-law is scorpio
I'm an aries
My son's a Gemini, as is my Mum. They pretend not to be sentimental or 'soft' but they are. You just have to dig to find it sometimes.
msilver - my 'ex' was an Aries.
my 2 oldest are cancer and my 16 year old was born in April21st, not sure what he is
my granddaughter is gemini -- lovely but ups and downs
I've not gone far from cloven-hooved ones for my present (for life, I hope) partner though; he's a Capricorn.
may i have a clue for ly 5 please? ty
dear dreamy son is cancer
i have always said that jon was born without any simpathy
My daughter's an Aries and she is as difficult at 19 as her Dad was at that age. I realise, if she's like him, that she will be 50 before she settles into herself.
ly + it's only a ph***
ly is the same as the 4 la
4th la
sympathy, is not an outward Geminian trait.
Hopelessly stuck. Please help with Lo6/18
I MUST go microwave supper! Bbs
ty jili - are yo in western ca? sorry i don't know much about the area you are from. actually never heard of it before i met you.
lo6 is plural of the 5
but I don't have the 5/10..............
TO - I'm in British Columbia, as west in Canada as you can get, just north of WA
short for toilet
lo 5 skip to my lo*, for example abbr
lo+ 3 vowels
explains the time difference- in the vicinity of calgary, alberta?
lo6/18 = plural of lo5/10. LO5.10 = British word for 'toilet' + 2 vowels. (Sounds like a French Sun king & plural.)
lo5/10 rhymes with phooey but isn't spelt that way
I'm finally back, had to go take care of my three little nephews
Got it!! Many thanks!
I do hate to leave but MUST!!!!
ly word?
Scatty - your april 21st baby is a Taurus, just about. Same birthday as our Queen here in UK. Hitler, who was end of Aries, had his birthday on April 20th.
How about Va4/7 (not the flower container...)
try a different vowel ending
same word, different vowel at end
so anyone born a taurus is a hitler wannabe?
same as flower container but put 1st vowel on the end
bye, jillibus!
bue jilli
'Bye, jilli!
Thanks again! Sa5/10?
i'm off to bed as well, have a stinking cold and sitting here isn't doing me any good, night everyone, see you tomorrow
Egg - possibly! The Ariens I've known are far more likely for that one, though. Anyway, it depends where all the other planets were placed when you were born.
night, scatty
sa + ***lipop
'Night, Scatty.
Thank you, Egg! Last one: Te5/10
howdy ya'll
man, I missed scatty! we had a kid crisis and I had to leave suddenly. hi ren!

are aries fire signs?
hi TO, April, all!
hey owl!!! and mistress!!!
April - true! Too honest at times. Mind you, my ex was very dishonest for a very long time.
and, of cours, hilter epitomized honesty
yes indeed Ren
no one I know would ever call me dishonest, but a bit too harsh or upfront, yes
So was my Arian daughter, as she starved herself almost to death and hid it.
I expect someone must have moved his stars?
Too heavy that last post.
Forget I typed it.
doesnt sound honest, or a typical aries to me
I know Geminis to be the hitlers in my life
foroitten! erase erase erase
we all know some a typical signs though, or TOO typical
Jac, my daughter went thru that too.
April - funy you should say that because that's exactly how my daughter thinks of her Geminian brother.
what you say sounds result oriented ... find the intended result and then find support ..... ignoring all else
daisy - then you know what I mean.
my best friend being a Gemini, my husbands Ex, and my ex husbands ex
Ren! Forgot to say hello. Forgive me!
yes, I do. I didn't know how bad it was bcs I had already left TN for Calif....
Egg, I cannot get it from your clue: Te5/10 again please???
so k mistress! i know you love me! sometiems i'm like those flys i love - i jsut buzz around!
careful April, we Geminis could take offense at your broad mis-characterization...
but Megan told me later that part of it was happening right under my nose. not that she blamed me in any way. I was just so caught up in my (present) relationship that I didn't pay attention.
My best friend is a Capricorn, like my partner is. She gets above herself at times and her present partner (Taurean, like myself) calms her, like I do, or once did on a daily basis.
te show and te** + pig sound **nk
just the ones I know personally stid

Smaller bone at rear of arm... makes a nasty cracking sound if I rotate arm in either direction. Putting handbag back on shoulder/unzipping handbag etc., hurts. But I've been carrying stuff with aforementioned arm.
okay, really need list. back soon
ouch - that must really be painful. I hope you at least have good pain meds for it
wow jac, did they say it would heal or what?
If I lift arm up, have to help it back down with other arm. No, faerie (Hi, BTW) it doesn't urt as much as my broken toe did.

Cats do some very stange things
There was a story in my daily paper last week about a male swan (cob) that had fallen in love with the 'female swan(pen)' Love Boat on a park lake. He follows the plastic boat everywhere, it seems.

little - sometimes that knowledge comes from experience, but sometimes from word clue lists. Visit Angel's page for all the information.
