Congrats ARB
Hello all. Congrats Arb.
hi mkl
Hi mkl
yay mrb
Looking at the chat about the "proper" spellings of words makes me wonder. There are people from all around the world using babble. Is it only in English, or does it translate into other languages?
hi mkl
Yes ... if I understand what you mean ... is there "proper" ways or not in other languages. I would expect in Chinese - Cantonese / Mandarin
have to put grandaughter to bed, have her for a couple of days
A little different as they use the same characters but the words are said differently
see ya later Andree
good morning everyone:)
English is a conglomerate language with words coming from many sources . So there will be different spellings for the words, since they are often just transliterated.
Hi jean
mi6/24 please?
mi 6/24 what a proper footman would say to his employer, slightly mispelled
Our government ministry have just stated here that students sitting their exams will be able to use txt language
thanks
Angb, that seems to me to defeat the purpose of teaching a proper language.
That's not what I meant. If you lived in China, but wanted to play babble, would you have to be able to speak English? Or does the computer translate for you?
Aah mkl - that's an interesting question. ?????
Certain languages, like Russian, have entirely different letters. I would think that would make it really tough.
ARB - there is a point of view that - if you can make yourself understood then that is a language?
mkl, This Babble works against an English dictionary called Enable. No translations. a babble-type game could be played in other languages, against a dictionary of that language.
Aha.
Angb -- yes, but making yourself understood to someone in txt language is not going to help you fill out a government form. There are times for both a slang language and a more formal language.
Arb. Your conversation reminds me that a few years back they considered teaching Ebonics in the inner city school systems.
Can someone clue the as6/30?
I would agree with you - but there is also - what is an exam in say social studies - is it to check whether you can speak "English" or do you understand what you have been taught - social studies or science might be a better example.
I'm not against teaching Ebonics as PART of a curriculum, but there is a need to learn to communicate in the common language.
It didn't go over too well. Sank like a rock.
as 6/30 a + s 5/18. spinning around
mkl a + sw 5/18
Just checked out Ebonics - interesting
Thanks. I didn't have the sw5/18 either. Got em both.
Got to go live the rest of my life. Bye all
Bye Arb
bye ARB, enjoy
Bye ARB
See ya ARB
grade inflation has been ongoing for decades. dilution of what constitutes a minimun to pass is commonplace. but then, I expect to see WW III in my lifetime and only the language of survival will count
bye ARB:)

That's great to hear, spellit. I hope she continues to feel good.

Glad she is feeling well
I'm smiling with the discovery of go4/9 - it reminds me of PG Wodehouse's golf stories 'The heart of a go4/9' - I have little knowledge of the game but he writes so wonderfully about it.
go6/24 please
someone who save go4/6's
thx fmitch

Bye spellit - enjoy!
it looks kind of difficult...how are you all finding the grid?
It was tough Fran but doable.
not easy for me fran
I'm just over half-way through - some nice words but the letters seem spread out, if that makes any sense.
i don't know why i bother to ask, i've already started and it's not like your answers would have made a difference.
20 left for tomorrow, need to have some dinner, happy babbling
bye andree! see you tomorrow
Mornin'///or good evening all
You're just being polite, Fran! It makes us feel better to think you want to know our opinion!
hi odin!
morning all - small grid today
Good morning Odin and Wolvie.
lol haz!
hi wolvie!
Hi Odin and Wolvie and Bye Andree
Mornin' Fran and Haz
Mornin' Wolvie...small grid works for me!
Hey FMitch
hi odin - I'm dreading a 300 plus one for the weekend
I feel the same...small grids are good for weekdays before work but 300 on a weekend and I will be here for hours
I understand the lickety has devised an 800 plus grid. I just hope he's keeping it in a secure environment!
Not that being in good company is a bad thing but I will not get anything elsew done before Budweiser time!
haz, let's hope it never gets to dr_g!
well - my saturday is spoken for, and sunday, well - I must start TG prep - I mean - I'd like a big grid during the week!
Aparently it almost escaped but is secure now Haz
bud - no no - we will be drinking bubbly after the game. :-)
Bubbly works!
oh my - 800? hmmm
It needs to be held in perpetual quarantine.
My husband will have a fun job on Friday evening - certifying reindeer as fit for travel back to Scotland after they have accompanied Santa's arrival at one of the local shopping centres.
Licketly shouldn't be alowed to play with such things, think of the consequences on the world!!!
how cute haz!
I wonder just how long it would take....hhhhmmmmmm
cool haz
Odin - it's a good thing I don't care about the stats, that's all I'll say about it. :-)
Not that he knows anything about reindeer but they need a signature!
Haz that sounds like a blast.
What a grat thing to have on your "To do" list
togo is too a word! "i want my order togo"
The vets all dread when the circus comes to town just in case their lack of knowledge is shown up...
I don't care about them either Wolvie...I had 47 left yesterday and couldn't get back to the grid.
haz, i'm seeing what you meant about the letters being "far apart" now.
I finished yesterday, but often times I have to stop and just can't get back. So it goes. :-)
Yes, FranMag - a word can stretch all over the grid.
has anyone see metaleather yet? the fo6/30 is right up her alley.
With the right combo of letters ed's ing's etc ...I can see how they could be all over the grid.
I haven't seen her yet, but she may have been on earlier.
She was on at the flip Fran
fo5/20 - a variant spelling of someone who is behind the times.
you talking about a cooking nut, Fran - I saw that word right off - I'm one too
just found that one too haz.
thanks haz
thanks Hazel, I was just noodling over that one. That's fireworks for me!!
Well done Katydid!

congrats Katy!
yay katydid!
oh yeah - I am wolvie at CT, too. :-)

the one that sounds like a name, FM?
yw Fran :) now the knack is remembering it for next time.
there's a bundle of sticks in the grid
Wolvie no, it's a si4/5
too many o's and not enough e's in todays grid
hi exwren!
thanks FM - got it. :-)
hi Ex Wren
yes, but no REs, which is a good thing
It that i had been an e we could have had oodles - providing it would be accepted by enable. It's very sniffy today, won't take Doris, or Figo.
lol
but it does take the dog. ;-)
Nor Dali!
hurshy will be so disappointed.
Yes, he features in her icon, doesn't he?
morning Franmag and Wolvie. I haven't been in for a couple of days, had computer problems, so put it in for a health check.
glad your 'puter is all better now, Ex
all better now i hope exwren.
Hhmmm that reminds me I really must do a back up this week.
brb - must get some java
later wolvie
lots of animals in this grid
So THAT's where the od4/5 is coming from. I was blaming it on the a15/10 earlier.
LOL HAz
lol
i'm sure once i find the al5/10 i'll be laughing too
It's ai 5/10 ,FranMag.
thanks haz
Pass the parsley to counteract the garlic...
sheesh, thanks haz! i'll take some of those si4/5 too.
hi again - ai 5/10 - thanks haz
You're welcome, Wolvie.
but we f****s do like garlic. :-)
the do5/14 may be kind of smelly too.
yeah - sock feet
On the subject of garlic there is a sa5/12 that sounds like the Italian sausage minus a letter. In fact it is another f4/8 dish!
hey - thanks for that sa, FM. cool
thanks fmitch!
sounds good!
I am getting hungry!!
i have 1 ga 4, 1 gi 4, 5 go 4 and 1 go6 - what am I missing?
There are 2 ga4's
thanks FM
mi 5/12 please
Good morning everyone. I have ga4/7,gi4/7,go4/7,go4/6,go6/24,go4/6,g o4/6,go4/9 and am missing 1
anybody out there?
m plus il4/4
don
LOL eva - I just asked the same thing - it's another ga 4. :-)
t have it yet button
thanks haz!
thanks HAZ
Morning Eva and Merp too
You're welcome, FranMag and Buttonman.
hi eva!
hi merp
da 4/7 clue please
got it! Merp woke me up a few minutes ago doing the triumphant hunter thing and then muching the poor creature on the bath mat. Have to remember to be careful where I step when I go in there
da4/7 - derogative term for a foreigner. da plus 'leave!'
da4/7 is a derogatory term for people of Italian origins
buttonman, it's a racial slur
yay merp!
well at least someone appreciates him
Fran, this is an area I am totally ignorant of
at least merp didn't leave it mostly whole as a tribute to you, eva. ;-0
did you see haz' clue button?
no, he's too much of a piggy for that
no, FRAn, thanks, that did it HAZ
But he would eat them all on the white down comforter if I let him
Eva, at least Merp didn't present the, um, prize to you first. That would have been a great way to wake up!
Well done Buttonman.
i kind of figured it wouldn't be part of a minister's vocabulary button!
ugh. Mine would too. Needless to say, I don't let them. :-)
I just like 5 words but i am going back to bed and finish later...NITE ALL!
night button!
Good night Button!
He tried, but I recognizde the hunting cry even in my sleep and have learned to yell-"No Merp" without waking up totally
bye button
LOL - and wow.
Bye
now that's talented eva.
just common female multitasking
Back in 5 minutes.
see ya soon, haz
okay folks, have to get over to Quote Puzzler and too bed before it's toooo late. Good night!
bye haz!
bye fran
nite Fran
Bye Fran, see you next time.
okay, I give, what's the j that isn't strawberry?
jo 4/9 like an io4 word
thanks!
the io is not in the grid.
means a bit tho
Thanks Wolvie - been monkeying that for ages
my dictionary has it as a spanish couples' dance done with castanets
Right - 24 left and I am consulting the list otherwise I could be here all day!
eva - never looked up the def - just monkeyed it. :-)
Thats good going Haz.
the def I gave was for the io word it resembled
I have 34 left and I think I am going to hit the list
What would we do without Brandyjack and lickety!
got ya wolvie. 19 left, but I think I'm going to stay away from the list for a while to make it last
wow - impressive, Eva. :-) way to go
of course asking for clues is more fun
brandyjack??
and lazier
Without Brandyjack and Lickety, those fireworks would be much less used!
it always amazes me when I look at the rankings though, that there are many people who complete the grids every day, never chat and probably never get help
probably play way more word games everyday, Eva, and they must be on to the next. :-)
what is brandyjack?
brandyjack has a list too, which was the only one before lickety made hers....
ah. I've never seen that one
Wolvie - Brandyjack is a who and a babbler that stated doing stats lists ages ago when babble was in it's infancy
Brandyjack is a babbler who produces two letter lists. He was doing it before lickety, some people prefer to use his list - accessed through BabAnon.
cool - I'll have to check it out
Eva lickety is a him not a her lol
oops
doesn't lickety's spouse play too?
That's mrpresident. Confusion is understandable!
aha!
Someone should do a family tree of babblerdom
Must ask her again why she calls herself that!
I was wondering last night what happened to our young friend from Japan?
That'd be fun, Eva - there are some doppelgangers.
clue for the ei 6?
don't have it or any e's yet
ei6 starts like the duck and ends in the spanish cheer gone wrong (replace the last vowel with another)
it's the only e. :-)
that's good(-:
thanks haz. I was close, but no cigar as they say
clue for mi 6/24 pls..... good morning everyone...
thanks haz!
mi6/24 - variant spelling of what Thunderbirds Parker used to say to his mistress. (not that there was anything going on!)
aolists, sciolists and slobberknockers too
thanks again haz!
sorry, never heard of thunderbird parker......
hi pida and Ka
morning Wolvie
slobberknockers?
Okay - it's what a servant would say to his mistress, but spelt slightly differently.
almost like the an illness, pida
thanks, Haz
and Wolvie
Now I know what a slobberknocker is........
mi ---add tra ** ** + the late princess **
We call them ass kissers
cuse me a**kickers........lol
did they actually have that in the dictionary pida?
are there any words with the 8 prefix?
No, Eva.
None that I can see
thanks
Whoops, gotta go to work, just looked at the time. Guess I'll try to finish tonight, before the flip. I've been working 7 to 11, five days a week, doesn't leave much time for babble, but couldn't resist a 93 word grid..... See ya later
Bye pida.
bye
think I'll take a break for a while. see you lataer
bye pida
cya Eva
See you later, Eva.
And time for me to go as well. Have a good day all!
bye haz!
I must be off for a while too. Happy Babbling
maybe i'm just too tired, but i don't like this grid.
I try to say emotionally detached
hi blood - it's a bit trying but ends up working out. :-)
bye FM
"emotionally detached"... I like that. Hi Wolvie. Thanks for the optimism. :)
hello all. what a horrible grid.
hi Alien
hello alien
i think i need a nap. good luck all.
bye blood
FIREWORKS
well - that's it for me - see everyone tomorrow!!
Congratulations, Wolvie. Well done!!!
Hey Everyone, how's the grid ... short, but sweet or short, but pulling my hair out?
That's me done too - off to do my housework!
Depends on who you talk to..... I found it okay
Congrats, speelit!!!
Haz, if you are still here, who is Thunderbirds Parker?
Is there a clue for the id 7,36?
Finished! Done! Complete! And under a tornado watch, with the power going on and off....LOL
Congrats SR, but before you leave, do you have a clue for the id 7,36?
Congrats, SummerRose!!!
id7--susually ends in -atry-- worship of false gods
add an ending to the 4/5 before it
thanks
TY, Ka!
and Merk!
Have a good day, Summer.
You were up early to be finished already.
The storm woke me...
East coast, I take it.
I'm upper Midwest. For me it was the dog wanting out to do his thing.
Nope, Gulf Coast CST
My goodness, you were up early! At least you came to the right place! LOL
And with a tornado watch going on, I'm not going anywhere...
I hear you.
Where in Upper Midwest? I'm from the Chicago area
Originially I'm from MI, but now I live in SD.
BRRRR....
Right now I'm babysitting in IA.
Brrr is right. Where are you?
We have a summer home in Saugatuck, MI
Beautiful area. I love the big lake.
I am in Ocean Springs, Ms- was hit by Katrina
tornado ... hurricane ... lovely place to live. I'd go to Saugatuck, too, for the summer.
We don't get much chance these days...but it is lovely there. MS isn't a bad place to live- a hated the cold...it made me ache.
My sister lives in southern GA and when I go there in winter, I ache. The cold is damp and more bone chilling. Here it is a dry cold (sounds like Arizona's dry heat, LOL)
The lights are flickering...I need to go...Been real nice talking to you!
well, i'm back to the grid.
Good Evening Everyone

Mother in law...moved in temporarily, thats why I havent been playing much..
Oh, LOL, spanner.
That's not an easy thing, spanner. Hugs and best wishes to you.
I hope your m-i-l is younger than me!
Lots of unfamiliar/strange words today.
he is 90...
Hi, faerie. How's your Mum getting on now she's home?
Sorry SHE is 90
hi faeriekae
spanner - That's ancient.
No ...thats a p-i-t-a
she is doing ok - I'm staying nights with her and getting her up and ready for the day before heading out...a little disoriented first in the in the A.M.
pain-in-the-****
LOL spanner -
faerie - Glad to hear she's on the mend. As for being disoriented first thing... so am I!:(
and I bath her and change her bed and stuff like that
LOL, Spanner.
Really gotta to go. Speak soon....
argh, spanner - as I said, not easy.
faeri: good news, but quite a task for you!
'Bye, Spanner. Good luck!
I also feed her of a morining
Sprite it's a task for the entire family
and are they sharing it with you or are you doing the whole family task? Sounds like quite a schedule to me.
Later Spanner :)
wellllllllllllllll I'm the only one spending nights with her but the others stop in throughout the day and check on her and take her, her mid day meal and feed her
Have a good day spanner
lol faeri... so you do the bulk and they do just enough to keep you from complaining. I see *hugs*
I guess the bad part is that I'm the only one changing her diaper :(
and shitty bed
You are a great daughter, faeriekae. How are you holding up?
I may ask one of my other sisters to spend the night on Friday because I have to work late and she needs some there at all times
faerie - It's hard work. (((HUGS)))
LOL Sprite I'm haning in there pretty good acutally thanks
Thanks Jac :)
good :)
Yes, do get other members of the family to share the load. It really is too much for one person all of the time.
I really don't mind doing it but every night is going to grow old really quick I'm afraid
every night will wear you thin before too long. I am with Jac, try to share the load.
Babble helps to take my mind off of things so Yeah for Babble and all my Wonderful Babble (((Friends)))
Yes we do need to have a family meeting here real soon I have to agree
faerie - Get that meeting set up a.s.a.p.
To quote Captain Picard: Make it so!
Will do *eye, eye, Captain"
:)
Have to be off for a bit, bye all, and lots of good thoughts for faeri and spanner.
Bye Sprite "Thank You"

aaaaaahhh thanks Purple :)
i'm back - went icon shoppping. hey, there's a musical phantom - adagio

melon - maybe.
al 6 please
bye, faerie
I bought some new make-up yesterday and I have to see if I really like it or not *teehee*
al 6 is plural of al 5 : garlic dressing
Hey, just noticed Babbler 'hodag' is in the grid.
Sorry wrong one.
ai is the garlic dressing - i've made it.
al 5 please !! lol x
al 6 : al + mel*** (song, ar** italian ending)
hoo-eee 11 vowels most toward the top.
Did you get it M3?
ty puff
nor purple sorry x
me neither purple also garlic mayo dont get
grey J :)
Oh, I like mi6/24! Only tried the spelling for fun, too. It's what Parker used to call his boss (owner of the pink car) in 'Thunderbirds'.
ai garlic mayo starts with 3 - count'm 3 - vowels
al 6 : al + mel**y (song, tune) + ar** (from J.S. Bach)
hi everyone!

wow that is a lot of sugarplums lol!
melon; just saw CIMs prod of "Latraviata and Friends".. it was awesome
hey. Al - another Clevelander! I used to play Cleveland opera - think the world of David & Carola Bamberger. CO screwed up royally when they hired Cumbley.
Chumbley
yup; love Bamberger too
it IS a lot of sugar plums TO - like i say, some have visions of sugarplums - some of us have hallucinations! it was a great time - the orch would do a potluck on one of the 2 performance sundays - eventually the dancers got word - those skinny kids could pack it away!
Have changed my icon in case I return later.
'til then Jac, baby
bye jacs!
hi everyone
hi annie!
yooohoo, Melon, we drove all the way to Cleveland to hear and see my favorite Pearl Fishers
back into the grid, before I make a go**
hi annie!
hi temple and aloy
will see pearl fishers in Boston in May
hey, inge - i played that! i think Scotty Bergeson conducted. We had West coasters show up for Meistersinger in 1995 - I think the only thing crazier than opera musicians are opera fans.
Our favorite conductor was Anton Coppola, Francis Ford's uncle - cool old dude - I think he was about 4'11" - he and I always talked about 3 things - music, movies, and food.
Pearl Fishers is so rarely performed. They say the scenery is difficult
never knew the word fo6.30 existed until today.. wow, I found my identity (-: melon: have two wonderful chinese friends.. they flew to MILAN for opera there...
I agree. Cried during Madame Butterfly last week in Boston. Can't wait for PF
I was in the pit, so what do I know? Then there's the challenge of getting audiences (beyond the true fans)to anything but the top 10 operas....
mornin babblers!
i got fo 6 too! would love a hint for id7
buon giorno evandine
hiya, evan.., melon: just extend your id4 to make it into a religion
id 7 : philosophy of id 6
i thought toadie would be a word, but i guess it's spelled with a Y
how many languages to you know, melo?
for the Pearl Fishers the box office had made a error and not sent our tickets, We spoke to the head honcho who ut su in the seventh row from front, WOW!
melon
eeek - of course - missed it by one letter - ended with a more erotic suffix.
hah! i was able to play the bogus toadie in a scrabble game last week, to the chagrin of my opponent
well, my french is rusty, hebrew is pretty good since i actually get to use it from time to time - minimal italian from dad's side of the family & music of course!
running to grab breakfast -- back in a few!
my sis & i play scrabblt on line. we use dictionary dot com as the arbiter.
you use it? teach? pray? visit Is ?
I tutor a bit, yes ray, been to Israel once, planning next trip - a volunteer project to teach ESOL in Beit Shan

Pick Me! Pick Me!
and, by the way, invites all done.
You'll be able to give lessons soon, Karys.
Oh, I'm perfectly happy with ho6 as a word...I was recalling a section from Godel Escher Bach, where one character says "No one in his right mind accepts reductionism," and another character says "No one in her left brain accepts ho6."
Good for you, Karys - do they look good?
Hahaha!
hi Haz
very pleased with them, your poem in the middle, a couple of lines underneath to say who its from, and a little embellishment in the corner !
Hello Annie!
It sounds very tasteful, Karys. Has the bridegroom seen them yet?

Was flipper a freshwater dolphin? No, these critters are in South America...
oh my, look at the time. i better list it.

****** or Alwa was the southernmost of the three kingdoms of Christian Nubia; the other two were Nobatia and Makuria to the north. Alodia was centered south of the great bend in the Nile river and south into the Gezira with its capital at Soba. Most of what is known about Christian Nubia comes from either contemporary Egyptian sources and the intensive archaeological work done in Lower Nubia prior to the flooding of many sites by the Aswan High Dam...like that helps

mi 5/12: word starts with mi, has 5 letters and is worth 12 points. As a newbie, you should have a look at angelsong's page -- linked under friends of babble
Welcome Capng to Babbleonia...you'll find a list under lickety's babble clues under Friends of Babble
Thanks Cybernan...I will. :)
Capng - have you read the Help above as well - a good start
Capng, you can look at Lickety's page to get information, also read 'Help' at the top of the page
hello Mymuse
hi lynxxx
mi 5/12, please?
Thanks all.
mi 5 sounds like opp of gent for ending Nan
C'nan - mi + start of a person who tells untruths
sorry that's the 6
mi + Mona **s*
thanks, lynxxx
Be warned though Capng, this game is addictive, once you are in you are trapped, bu the company is very good
Cybernan - what else isn't greyed out and I'l do some counts for you?
Lol. Thanks ExWren. What benefits do you get my upgrading to pro?
and mymuse
Hi Wren -- you were in the grid on Rememberance Day
Yes cybernan, but I couldn't play that day, I had a parade to go to. Thank goodness the weather was kind to us.
hi all, hi wren! are you back from your latest trip again? or still in-between? (I get your comings and goings all mixed up)
morning Stid
keep wanting to type in admiral :(
yay fireworks!!!!!
Hi stidmama, no trips on the horizon just now, we will think about it in the New Year
hi lynxxx! is it tomorrow morning already? LOL
YAY shorty!
congrats shorty
Congrats Shorty!
ty ty
2 ag's, 1 ah, 2 ai's, 4 al's and 2 am's -- missing two?
well good, wren. I always seem to find words quicker when you are around! :-)
What benefits do you get by upgrading to the pro account??
you get a cool icon/profile; you keep the tile stats and word stats you now see under the grid; you help support a really cool game and its creator.
You get to play the icon theme game; see fireworks and tile stats (which will expire after 2 weeks if not proc); and it's a one tme only fee
and the upgrade is a onetime fee for life, unlike so many games where it's that amount (or more) per year!
right muse! :-)
Capng -- you get tile stats and word stats which tell you how many you are missing from each letter and where in the grid they begin.
Oooooh!! I might have to upgrade. I now know what you all mean by yay fireworks. Lol.
al*5 ....al4.7 4.5 6.21 4.4 5.12

yes -- all three of my kids did -- wonder how that happened?!
going to warm up my tea -- back for the last 4 in a bit
hoping you'll remember and share the secret. We're having one of "those" weeks where I think at least one of them will turn out to be a hamburger flipper...
lol -- that wouldn't last more than 6 months before deciding an education is required to earn real money!
:-) worked for me... ;-)
may I have a clue for that E word please?
Woah. I've gotten 43 words by myself. 0.0

cybernan its a bit drafty out west
well, we're 40 miles from the fort and I don't remember hearing the guns so often when I was a child... but I guess the way the inlets and hills are funnels the sound toward us somehow. I also hate being in one of the flight paths for McChord Air Force Base. LOL
I have so many open boxes nan it's not funny
al 6/21 is al + vowel + spanish day
al 6: mr gore + overdose + two vowels

That's great, Atalante - I'll look forward to that.

Yes, there are registration plates with HAZ on them! So you got over this side of the Irish sea?
There are two puppy pictures in here! Is my babycat the only kitten? uh oh! :)
yup :) not for long though, we ferried over from Stranraer late in the evening, stayed just south of Belfast then drove down to Dublin the next day. saw the Book of Kells at Trinity, and just wandered around, then zoomed off to Holyhead. A *quick* trip, but at least they saw Ireland for a moment or two!

And now you're going to get addicted all over again, Preethi!
Atalante - you can relax for a few days, can't you, or do you have to get caught up with the w word.
Good to hear you had fun. I am in Ireland rite now and it so cold and to make it worse its been raining all day
Cant wait to Haz
It's been raining all day in the north, Preethi. Whereabouts are you?
I am going to hide from the W word for a day or two :)
I feel like i have been gone for ever

sa5/12 - looks like an italian sausage but with a vowel in the middle missing.

:)
franebrown - there are lists of second letters and points values available. You can either access lickety's list (look under Friends of babble) or Brandyjack's list (Babbler's Anonymous, General, Stats)

Bilt, both of those fo words end in two vowels , third and second
very true Tiny... I knew 2 weeks into the relationship it wasn't ideal, 6 weeks in I knew it wasn't good, 3 months in I knew it was bad.... and it took 3 1/2 years , his having a child with someone else and his getting us both arrested for drug possession to leave. the only redeeming quality he displayed at the end was that he did tell the judge that I didn't know about the drugs being in the house and that I had nothing to do with them. it was "too little too late" though... that's when I made the decision to leave.... I knew that there would be a next time and that next time he wouldn't be so "gallant"....
it still took me more than a year to get my butt out, even after that
yuck herin I will pass
what you might call someone with no sense of humour...an old fo***, the six is a slang for someone who is into fo4.8

i think it's a new regulation, something about it containing folate (which i thought was a good thing)
hahaha
i hope you didnt strangle poor blondie
and since FDA says folate can only be added to bread products it can't come in.
nope - she nearly pulled my arm out of it's socket tho
does that mean that marmite is also out
well, as far as I'm concerned that's ok -- don't like either of them
my friend jennifer had finger surgery when her hands were squished when her rotweiler puilled on her leash

ren you still want the Frito Pie recipe?
yep, its not me there being stupid with its my friend and i cant help here as they have changed all the rules, try and live on $1000 aus a fortnight with rent, a hubby and a 12 year old it just doesn't happen
yes metal - is it posted?
lady -- that sounds impossible
posting it now
i don;t know about the rest of the world - but here in texas only the female of the species eats the fritos pies
here I go again, whats a frito pie
where are you posting the recipe, metal?
frito pies and testosterone dont mix
yep and shes getting screwed daily by the people of stupid, i have learnt to fly under the radar since being unemployed
beginning to feel like I live on another planet
she posts in bab anon jilli
ok - thought maybe
does't her husband work, herin
andree - for those of us who ar enot cooks - it's a can of chili, fritos, and cheese - brave souls add onions
I don't know what a frito pie is either, andree
actually ren it sounds like something most women would go near
metal has posted 2 different recipes in bab anon - the real things
and right up a guys alley
wouldnt
no andre he doesn't as the job fell through, they moved back home brb
it's like jack in the box tacos - the women of texas love them - men - not
sounds like the more you eat the more you toot
hang on brb gotta talk to my mother
Hi, all - I am back to finish (hopefully). 39 words left and daddy is in bed with the kiddos - all three are asleep - wahoo!
ok chj - maybe just where i live where the bubbaettes reside
umm is this frito pie thing chilli con carne mix (meat) over tacos? as this sounds more blokie than girlie being bean related which equals farty pants
hi tea
I dunno ren... I lived in TX most of my life, and all the males in our family ate Mama's Frito Pie...
hi TcC -- gogo!
not bean related at all herin...
real chili never ever has beans in it
mmmm, frito pie - you all are making me hungry!
your mama was a good cook metal
can you send some bubbaettes up here to ct?
go TnC go!
oh that's right -- I heard about beanless chili as being the real thing
you want some bubbaettes chj? oy vey! are you sure?
i bet there was chili with beans more than chili w/out beans historically speaking and such
hahahaha
can I send some fem. coona****s along?
tastier with beans and probably a lot better for you
there may be now... but historically, chili was, and still is made only with meat, masa, water and spices
let's do that metal...hahahaha
and, with beans tastier? that's sacrilege! ;o)
it's tantamount to saying you can make chicken fried steak and not serve it with cream gravy
what is a coona****
but historically beans were more common than meat. I'm just saying that since meat was more scarce than beans....
it's a polite way of saying coonass which is a slang term for cajuns
was that bleped because it was naughty or because its a word from the grid
aha
true enough kierlex... but on cattle drives they had beans cooked separately from the chili...
aha a bubbaette
I bleeped it because it was "naughty"
metal -- I looked at your recipe and it asks for a can of chili -- but doesn't that have beans?
not good chili jilli
your tummy only has the rumbles from beanies if you don;t eat them frequently. if you eat them on a daily basis there are no tummy rumbles
look for the kind that says without beans
I don't think beanless cand of chili are available here
Wolf Brand if possible, or Austex.
talking beans, eh?
30 left
others are "ok"... but not quite as good
wolf brand is the best in a can
yep
i was reading wikipedia just now and it has an interesting article about chili con carne (no beans!).
hey ya chic!!!!!
charros
Hi Rennie!
now i am hungry for chili w/beans or w/out =)
I know from beans!
nice icon chixie
we're also talking frito pie recipes that metal posted
tx, chj
i love baked beans
beans on toast...
that is a good article, isn't it kier?
I'll go look; I know I've had something like that...
ill make up a big batch and have em for a week
i love bush brand vegetarian baked beans
beans on toast? *shivers at the thought
add ketchup, dried mustard, brown sugar, minced onions and crushed red peppers
I adore baked beans
metal do you mean you buy meat in tins?
finally! done. does anyone need any clues?
sound yum chj, haven't done home made baked beans in years
now a big ol' bowl of red beans (pintos, not kidney beans) and a thick slice of onion on the side, and sliced tomato on the side... and maybe fried potatoes to go with it. now that's good eating
yay, harp!
yahooooooooooooooooooharp
yay harp
ok what did i miss, is this frito pie thing what i said?
what meat Andree?
spam is can meat
pintos was a clue in the ny times puzz the other day
yayyyyyy harp!
yay harp!!!
i am so stinking hungry!
yayayya harp!!!!!!
sorry metal, when you said a can of chilli do yoy mean meat
that recipe sounds so good metal! i love warm lettuce and cheese and chili
rennie, we always have crackers and peanut butter for snacking, i love peanut butter
so your telling me that my corn chips and spagetti bolanes sauce is a version of frito pie
I've just had fritos on the bottom of a bowl of chili, cheese and onion on top.. my fav brand of canned chili is Armour....
me too fran
oh.. no, it's not meat Andree, more like a thick stew with meat in it, but not just meat
Armour's a good brand too
thanks fran! i do have some natural pb yayay
I don't thinkI'd call it Frito Pie herin, but if ya like it I say call it whatever you want
um im lost
stop chic!!! i do have a can of wolf brand chili - i do have some fritos and i do have some cheese.....
i ahve some lettuce and some tomatoes.....
sounds like rennie's got the makings of a frito pie!
feast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
dinner!!
um are fritos a brand of corn chips
ill take a slice please
yes infernal
The think about the way Mama made the dish is that the lettuce stays crisp and if you broil the top layer of cheese fast enough, the lettuce never really warms up but the top cheese layer still gets melted and a bit browned
my favorite 'goulash' is can of chili, with sauted onions and ground beef, with leftover brown rice cumin more chili powder and lots of cheese all melty together... yum comfort food!
yes herin
the best corn chips around
some for me please, love to try it sounds yummy even if it has no beans
just read the wiki thing on chili con carne -- I wonder if we can get Wolf brand here but I don't think so.
oh ok cool so i do do a dish like frito pie ill have to try it with corn carnie next time
order it on line jilli
jillli make your own chilli con carni
ya probably could, but almost any brand will do.... I just like Armour, Austex and Wolf Brand because that is what I've always used and had available.
I don't recommend Dennison's though.
um sod diving into puzzle
oh yeah, this lazy cook-for-one is going to make chili, in your dreams!
in Guam we make something called chicken kelaguen, chopped up chicken with onions, lemon, sometimes coconut and hot pepper. it's my favorite thing to eat with fritos.
or Bush's brand
oo that sounds interesting, Fran!
I don't think online food ordering works between the US and Canada...
fresh coconut right Fran, not the sweetened kind used for baking?
jilli its not that hard
hey make a pot on youll have leftovers for weeks
definitely ml.
leftover chili is great
ML, check out www.guamdiner.com for that recipe
make a big pot of chili jilli, then freeze it in serving size batches and you won't have to make it again until months from now.
chili is one of those things, like beef stew, that's better as leftovers
hi guys
yeah - what fran said
hiya pappa
actually I do things like sauce bolognese and freeze it in little containers, so could prob do that with chili -- but then I do like the beanie kind too, which i make myself VERY occasionally
heya smooth

I like mashed potatoe panckaes, fried in lots of butter...

i use a recipe from Le Hellas resturant
i'll have to try it again then
http://www.leshalles.net/ this is the restuarant and one day i will get to new york to eat there
i guess i need to spice up my menu in both of those spheres
bubbaette slow dancing at the waffle house...sweet
lol kierlex!
you know that your a redneck if... you were your underwear as swim wear at the beach and your inside furniture is outside furniture.I put my hand up for both of those
my bro and i love the waffle house's scrambled eggs and cinnamon raisin toast
i had these swedish pancakes with lingonberries one time that i can't get out of my mind... anyone know what i am talking about?
you know you are a red neck if you go to a family reunion to look for a date
recipe sounds good pappa.... I'd probably substitute something for the wine though. (I've never developed a taste for wine)
scrambled eggs is one of the few dishes i excel at
Hi, friends! How are you?
metal, bubble and squeak is a mix of left over vegies with potatoe included to bind
Haha, Ren, talking from experience?
hi summer
and egg andrea
Bubble and Squeak is sauteed corned beef and chopped cabbage. Toad in the Hole is sausages in Yorkshire pudding
hahahah chic....who told you?
it turned out really good meta.... Like I said, most of mine come from what I have in the fridge, and what combos I can come up with. lol
You know you're a redneck if you have more than one car on blocks in the front yard.
Hi, Fran!
Hands up for that one metal
Yes Kier I have had the Swedish pancakes with ligonberries
I've never had more than one that way, but I did have one, on more than one occasion
you know you're a redneck if you think redneck jokes are funny =)
lol
your family tree doesn't fork
yep, and I love redneck jokes
Yum...ligonberries...we have them as a Christmas treat every year on our smorgasbord...a Norwegian tradition in our family...
lol kierlex!!
my fortune cookie the other day read,"when you don't get what you want, you get experience.."
I know im a red neck well more of a bogan
yum summer ligon berries
you're norwegian too, rose?

i must find lingonberries. it is my new mission =) how do you serve them, rose?
I'm more of a hillbilly than a redneck but I still love the Blue Collar Comedy tour
Absolutely. My Dad spoke it at home...I'm a second generation transfer from the Old Country...
hey i think we have a quorum
um like a redneck but less so um google it

both of my fathers parents emifrated from norway
I serve them in a light syrup, cold, with krumkakas, a Norwegian light cookie that takes hours to make- like crep0es, only crunchy.

fran -- is your new icon's description you -- lol?

yes
i just found the picture in a google search, i love little fruit tarts like this.
funny jilli! :p
My Grandpa changed his name from Johansen to Johnsen when he emigrated, much to the family's dismay= he thought it was more American...thus, I had to spell it over and over...
mmm. i was home sick today, slept until 4pm and now i am hungry with nothing in the house but leftover pizza!!! you're torturing me
but i learned thjat when my grandfather came over here his last name was misspelled with "son" and after i was born my father fouind pout and had it changed back to "sen"
I just changed mine, too
so my birth certificate actually says "son"
icon, that is
TnC, what's in the cookies, are they like sandies?
Arrg, chj...I can't tell you how many school programs had my named spelled wrong on them...
