110 -- time to say goodnight :)
To Ameland, a Dutch island. We used to go once a year with 6 friends. One of them died this year, and we decided finally that we better mourn her together and celebrate her life and having known her together, than apart.
Nite nan
Hi jilli - snowing here!
bye nan
That sounds like a great thing to do, sprite
snowing here too
where are you mayne girl?
'night nan
hope you have a relaxing time despite the saddness sprite
pity I can't spell
we think so too :) She would have been really p*ssed if she knew we wouldn't go too. Guess that helps as well. It is a tradition she really cherished.
hi sprite!
night nan!
MG -- it snowed here too -- I have about 3'' of heavy wet stuff around. Had to drive home in the dark on slippery roads with the big snowflakes flying in my face
hi MG!
Enomis, MayneGirl is right near here and her mother lives on this island too.
as most peole have I have seen snow, can't imagine I would like to live with it though jilli
still can't spell
Andree, here in southern BC it doesn't last long except on the mountains.

I've never seen snow *sobbing in corner* my sister loved it when she went on hols though.
ts7/28: lots of nasty flies.

Does anyone have the second re8/40?
now, really goodnite--I spotted a tr 7 on my way out. Thx again
mkl, it means to occupy a land again
thanks
Hate it when I already have most of the word.
Like plurals? Those kill me. Even worse is when I type in the plural and forget the singular.
Amen to that Jan
love it when I have most of the word. hate is a waste
Ok, last clue? Anyone have the st8/40?
Half full, half empty?
It's an Italian word having something to do with opera, I think. The s/8 is a plural.
Oh crap. Anything a little more concrete? Not an opera kinda guy.
any clue for the ts words
flies
ts twice-- disease causing fly
ts type of flies in Africa.
and plural
It sounds like it ought to mean "not crooked." Though with an Italian vowel ending.
thnx..for the clue
Jan st clue. Was that for an eight letter? I can only find it in a seven letter
add the second vowel for the 7/28, the 8 is the plural of fourth vowel ending
plural mkl
Actually, it works for both of the preceding st/7's, though you can only pluralize one of them. Two different ending vowels.
Aha. I only had the one that could be a plural. Thanks so much.
Vanquished the evil re's...so fireworks!
yay jan
18 to go. I'm off for the night. Thanks for the help
YAY jan! Amazing!
18 to go for what?
bye mlk
18 to go for fireworks.

hello Morning Whispers, welcome to Babble-land
Hello, ty.
morning you should stop now before you are addicted to babble like us, we are pretty sad cases
lol
We sure are ... back again ... can't keep away... oh no
What is the rule of thumb for hints in the chat? I've got a few words others are likely to not have.
I think I was hooked with my first grid lol
best is to wait til someone asks for a clue
Generally you don't clue unless someone asks.
k
k
But people do give the tiles stats for the 7, 8, 9s especially early in the grid
I have the 9, have only 1 8, but 12 of the 7s
It was a bit fran-tic earlier on ... just kept up
You're going well for a first grid ...

Hi ata

hi Ata
hi ata
hi all
My plan of action for the grid has become a ritual. Initially, I sacrifice several candy wrappers to the High God of the Grid. Thereafter, I patiently await clues in the log while festidiously noshing. Then, I beg!
good pla enem
plan

Got a feeling the next addition of the family pet wise will be while Gary is out one day *g*
its funny how pets just seem to arrive one day ....
Just waiting for the right time *g*
Anyway, I must drag myself away and start breakfast. Been up with 4 year old but got to get the rest of the house up as we're off to the fish market this morning

the irish s-dogs come from earlier esses
There is an s dog 6/18 and /28
fireworks.

Congrats oggy

Well done Fran !!
I know someone with the surname te6/27...

Hi Pia
hi ya pida
Don't know about lovin it une, but it's interesting, morning lynxx, jean, hodag. See ya tonight
Hurrah! I got the nine without the list and without a hint. Yay!
what a clever girl that Matty is !
I know, y'all can do that all the time, but I'm dead chuffed when I manage it :D
am off for a while, happy babbling everybody:)
hi jean, bye jean
hi all who've arrived while I've been "in the grid"
hello metaleather and bye lol
10 to go and they're "invisible"
I do know the feeling Matty...is one of the good things about not starting at the flip. Everyone else finds them and gives the counts - and you dont get the pleasure of doing it alone
Hi metal - what letters are you missing? I've still got 32 to find but I may be able to help
Guten Morgen. Did someone offer help? I am stuck on me 7/32. Any help out there?
It's plural of me6/21 - if you find out what kind of stuff you're made of, you take the measure of your me6
or pl of comet...
Yep - or that one!
I am missing the first me 7/32 however
No wonder Inge . me7.32 - try me + mono or ***** but substitute snake letter for the re
Mono, lynxx?
mono as in type of music/sound
OK, I'm with you! Strange word that.
I need one more M from the middle row... is there an odd one?
in 'olden' days you used to get mono or s***** sound - bit like AM/FM radio
Sherb - have you got both ways of spelling he metric measure
thanks lynxx, got it at last
yw Inge
got both of those lyn, and pl... and to dish out and pl...
but the measures come from the bottom M...
me6.21 & 7.32 - to prove your me***** (worth)
got it... the woven texture, doh...
I have all the Ms Sherb but not sure where they come from - sometimes its is hard to tell
thanks lyn :)
need to get the beef stew in the oven for lunch... bbl... :)
Nite All - 32 left, to do with Lickety help tomorrow - bye
Morning all..........a clue for the re9 please?
Take a breed of dog (a Red se6/18), plural it, and do it again.
I'm missing 2 st 7/28's and st 8/40 as well as the 1st me 7/32. Can anyone help?
Thanks Matty!
hi flask,I was looking for you.
reset
good morning Flask
Hi Hodag!
'night lynxxx
Hi Metal
100 found - think the list beckons...
anike, i don't have any those..sorry.
hows it going for you this morning Flask?
anike, the firsst me7/32 is an alt. spelling for a person of mixed Indian and Spanish ancestry... usually spelled with a Z but not today
anike, do you have the me7/32 that the plural of the me6 before it?
hi matal
well my unexpected visitors left at 8am this morning......so peaceful.......
I do love visitors.....but its nice to say goodbye too!
the st7/28's and the 8/40 are all musical terms, that are spelled similarly to another word for lane or boulevard or road
hi hodag
It is nice to have company but, it is also nice when they go. I think we can all relate to that!
I have the 2nd & 3rd me 7's but the first one still eludes me. I assume it's meso*** but can't get any further
Metal.....am not getting thos st's u clued
any clues for the mu8?
mu 8 - small musical instrument similar to a recorder - plural
I've got the 1st st 7 thanks metal - not the other yet
Got the st's thanks - now just the me me 7/32 still not jumping out (1st one)
Try me+saint+2nd vowel+ what cartoon Japanese say: "Ah, --!"
Thanks Hydra - Fireworks!!
Brilliant! So glad I helped :)
cheers anike!
thanks hyra.
for the ST's... most US towns have a Main St. take the first two letters of that, add the first three letters of * * * urn (what you do to a present you don't like).... then add green * * a

Five tubs of whipped topping. I'm also trying out cornbread stuffing, never made it, no recipie, corssing fingers. How hard can it be?
clues please for the FIRST mu7...and mu8?
We made Paula Deen
I always have cornbread stuffing. I had le**overs yesterday. Yummy!
bunny, use broth instead of water
builds on the mu4/6, add ending that means little or tiny, then plural it for the 8
Sorry, hit the wrong button, ha. We made Paula Deen's grits pie from food network. Very, very good.
?Paula Deen
1st mu 7 - mu + use part of the irish dog word without the last letter
no wonder I never lose weight, there is always a holiday around the corner
Annie, I was gonna use chicken broth, maybe a can o' cream o' chkn, celery, onion, sage... bake and serve.
Yes, Annie, there is always a reason to eat, especially if having a bad day. LOL
irish dog word??
dog = se 6/18
Hello again, back for while,

katy - got bunny's clue - but thanks. And thanks to bunny too. :-)
Morning Charm and Hi Bunny and Wolvie
yw.
scrabbler, mushrooms are good also---I have added sausage and even dried apricots but not to the same stuffing.....
better to overdo than have them all gnawing on the tablelegs with hunger !
TY for that mu7 clue, BV. I never would have found that on my own.
hi, ren!
yw
me either, scrabbler.
There are so many variations to stuffing....bunny it sounds divine

hey mag.
Morning Mag
Hiya Blood
pretor
sorry
and Mag
G'd morning to anyone I missed. I'm rasslin' with the re's.
Bloodaxe, I envy you for "being forced" to spent Christmas in Dresden. Eat a Stollen just for me please. I am just beginning to bake mine
i've been lurking
inge, I changed my icon for you ;)
will do inge....what's a "stollen"?
Cute!!! Stollen is the Christmas loaf made from yeast dough. The Dresden version has marzipan in the center
they sound good. i'll probably end up eating a few of them for you..../
Stollen gets baked weeks before Christmas and stored in a cool place until consumed at Christmas time
Ok bunny, let the icon do the smoking, not you
I LOVE marzipan
but now I will change my icon to architecture, BBL
I have a marzipan bar on my kitchen table right now
I'm trying!!! I'm down the four or five a day, with lots of nic tablets. We have to go outside to smoke, the colder it gets, the less I go out, my hands and I don't get along well with the cold.
rettle
BV I smoke in my house *teehee*
bunny, how long have you smoked?
mettle
sorry again
thanks mag
all my sympathy bunny - i have never even tried to quit after probably nearly 40 years
13 yrs +/-
Loooooonnnggg time BV
See, other smokers... Ya'll are in for a tsking! lol
wow...that's a long time. i smoked for about 8 and quit 4 years ago. it's been really hard being in morocco though...EVERYONE smokes here...
This is a minor miracle for me....It will be 22 years next month that I have not smoked....it can be done! bunny, one day you will do it!
I don't care - I try to quit also but it's just not working right now
Congrats Annie. They are about to jump the price a dollar a box after the new year from what I hear?
bunny, if i may offer some advice about smoking. i tried every method a million times. i have quit before for 1 and 1/2 yrs and then started again. i quit in sept using the patch. i find the gums just replaces one oral habit with another and i couldn't get off it. be prepared for 6 months on longing for a smoke.
Faerie, I loved to smoke, it was relaxing...but I was finally able to kick it....doctor
I haven't smoked for over 28 years and do you know what the final straw was? my 5 y.o. son who begged me. He didn't want me to die.
doctor's advice or should I say warning....
Annie even my Dr. even told me that NOW is not a good time for me to try stopping
wow Bv you stated when you were 14 yrs old?
I used patches and have now not smoked for 2½ years
sorry
I've tried the patch, still smoked. These little tablets work pretty good. I always quit when I was pregnant, but that ain't happening!
Shorty lots of people start smoking as Young teenagers duh
still haven't decided on my icon. In the meantime, Bunny I quit on the patch some 12 years ago. Too damn expensive to keep getting more!!! I forgot to put on a patch one morning and knew I had licked it
Yup Shorty, about that.
duh I did when I was 9 yrs old*heehee*
It's the thing to do when your a teenager LOL
are there any words in the grid that use the h's or the j on the side?
Faerie, you have gone through a very stressful time. I agree with the doctor. I started smoking at 17....
I'm down from 2 packs a day. My major incentive for quitting besides the cost, I don't want the kiddos to EVER pick up the habit.
are you serious faerie???
Rofl Shorty seeeeeee
I dont think I could afford to buy cigarettes now. I stopped when they were $1.50 a pack and I smoked a pack a day
yep I'm serious
OMG!!!!!!!!!!
i just convinced myself that if i didn't quit smoking my heart would explode.
i just convinced myself that if i didn't quit smoking my heart would explode.
blood, no
quit smoking, but i have an anxiety disorder.
only as sh endings
thanks inge.
but I got pregnant 22 yrs ago and it mad me gag so I quit

Can someone ease my suffering with the first se 4/4 please?
first se4,4 sounds like what you would call a bunch of men
se4 - 'you cannot be ***iou*!'
sherb...its supposed to be one of finest examples of perpendicular architecture in England
Thank Ye all. (banging my head on the desk)
reminded me of the Anglicn cathedral in Liverpool...
must be the soot stains...
Haz, are you alright there?
LOL...it must be.
doh... stupid ro4... I never remember that one...
Afternoon all. Haz - have you turned into a goat or a sheep?? Has someone put a wicked spell on you?
hi, jacula
hi Jacula!
afternoon, Jacs... she just interjected... then silence...
hi, Jac! I really must get outdoors - mid-60s & sunny - in november - in Cleveland! the garden callls - i'd best pick up Babbling after dark.
Yes, sherb, I saw! Maybe she's logged-in but the monitor's switched off. She could be dusting the keyboard or something...?
it wasn't even a valid word...
Hey, melonhead, where in Cleveland are you?
(I'm from Cleveland Hts.)
university heights
no, Haz never dusts the keyboard... probably gone to get another glass of wine...
Did you grow up there and go to Heights High?
get OUT! i lived on Overlook, then Kensington, then E Scarb, before moving here.
sherb - She'll find out you said that! LOL
NO WAY! I grew up on Exeter!
I went to Berea High, but thought the Heights was the coolest place on earth, or at ;least in Cuyahoga Co. Moved here in my 20's, nearly 30 years ago.
lol, I don't know how cool Heights was when I went there, but I guess it was going downhill.
My music teacher in Berea, Mr Bergantino, moved to Hts in 1969, retired from same in 1988 - I just saw him last week guest-conducting Hts Hi Symphonic Wind Ensemble. How nice to be able to say "hi" & thanks for making a musician out of me - he started me on the bass in 8th grade.
I HAD MR BERGANTINO!!!!!
NO!
I played cello with him. Hee hee!
he still wears those turtlenecks - son David is a producers for Nickelodeon - I babysat him!
*cue nostalgic music of the 70's*...
What do/did you play?
Hi, vicuna and melonhead!
ahh, cross-conversation - did you take provate lessons? the Hts is crawling w/Cleve Orch members.
hi, Pam!
my best friends parents grew up in shaker heights with paul newman
"welcome back..."
Someone tried to fix a friend up with Debra Winger years ago - she's another Hts person...
I took private lessons, but not from a Cleveland Orch cellist. I did babysit for some Cleve Orch players, though. :)
I never knew of the Paul Newman or Debra Winger connections. They didn't hang with me!
(I mean I babysat their kids, heh!)
BVeing from Berea, I've been following OSU - I went to school w/Jim Tressell - one of the nicest eople you could know - always a gentleman.
Paul Newman lives not far from me in westport connecticut
rost
oh
(Hi, Pam!)
I played in the Hts Civic Orch, too, which Mr Bergantino also conducted.
well, now I'm really out to the garden - bye for now! It's been fun, vic!
LOL. Babble's finally driven some players mad. They are making strange interjections like, 'meh', 'rost' & 'oh'.:)))
I played Ohio Chamber Orchestra - ballet & opera downtown - not sure if Hts Civic is still active.
Happy gardening, melon!
Yes, don't waste that November sunshine, melon! See you later!
bye! {poof}

no, i have all the 7's then i guess
did someone clue the first se6/18?
i have plant bottom words, editing words, shop, foul weather, the weird 7's and 8, a 4/6, trouble speaking.
one se 6/18 sounds like a group of six, but no x

pfft, silly me.
that leaves 5 R's.

better than having 13 left!!!
well inge, i went through my list earlier and just re-'d everything that could have an re, no matter how stupid it seemed, and i got several that way.
16 ro's hursh
i'm missing 3 8's. i have re8/40 and st8/40. any clues?
yes, there are a lot of RElatives
then my missing top R's are RO
another re8, ro8, and mu8
do you have the ro**** stone?
ro 8... little posies

re 6/21 is a plural
re 6/18 a person relaxing

Yes, it's a plural
yes, it does. but then there is another re8 right after it, which you might have been assuming was the first re8.

the old five finger discount
dorens, have you been to barcelona to see Gaudi's work?
Dorens, I also admire Gaudi architecture, that cnurch never got finished did it?
yes....after admiring it in pictures, i got there a couple of years ago and had a few amazing days...and no, inge but it will by the end of this century
and even tho not finished, it is the most incredible work
I was in Barcelona in 1959!!!
sagrada familia--I was there 2 yrs ago, too--I wonder if we bumped into each other on the stairs
chj is that building of your icon in booty bay?
nice. i was there a few weeks ago and didn't get a chance to make intentional visits to any of his work, but i walked around a corner, and there was this Dr. Suessish style building among the rest.
hi lesley ann...which convo? (and how was the honeymoon?)
it was pretty amazing.
no vienna inge
it must have been still beautifyl in 1959.... and i thought i recognized you mirandapan!!!
I was the one w/the camera

rightt!!! you and ONLY y ou
ah...those were two clues for the te 6 word
inge - going back thru the chat - i used to work for time - way back when it was time-life, inc
oh, i just started, haven't made it to t's yet

My husband did nis Fullbright year in Vienna and I visited several times in the late 50's and 60's .
hey leslie!
Our son lost his job in Ann Arbor and had the wisdom to move on to Charlotte, he was the original designer of Border
Border's book inventory and left them at the wrong time
I have a grammatical problem with one of the mu6 words. (the one that would go with "deafest.") It would seem to me that this particular mu4/6 is not something that happens in degrees. Either you're mu4/6 or you're not. Oh, well
hi hk, i have been recruiting people for the chicago get-together
leslie-yes? :)) who's on board?
that's a good point jane, and thanks for the clue
you are right Harpjane, though it has so many diff. meanings, that the superlative could apply somewhere
I suppose, inge
I hate re's what a bain in my babble world
the re words re there to keep us in line!!!
well the thing you stick in a trumpet is called a mu4/6 also, but there's no superlative.
erm, well i guess by that i mean i've been making my list of people in the area. i have to look through the archives to see who all i invited ;)
hello again everyone...me7/32 clue please, if you woud be so kind.
harp--what about colors in a painting--could you compare them--the blue was mu****--perhaps that's a stretch
Still got 8 more re's and getting fed up looking for them inge
Hi Mo, are you ok?
LA - what? you mean you haven't picked a place, made the reservations, sent out the invitations??? i figured since you just did the wedding thing, it would be like second nature to you, lol
fine thank you ren....and you?
ha! planning is my third nature. procrastinating is my second
very well thanks, apart from the re's are really annoying me
le7/40?
me too!!!!
leslie - don't forget to add ARB to your list - she said she has a sister in deerfield that she visits a few times a year - that would be great if the timing were right - hah!! saw your post, yep, i totally hear that about procrastinating
LeslieAnn, keep me posted. Perhaps daughter Anya' s wrath and I can make it
Leslieann's back! Okay, we demand wedding photos! :)

I'm back from watching the slideshow... my gosh, you were STUNNINGLY beautiful! I LOVE that photo of you with the veil drifting across your face -- and your new husband is so cute! Thanks so much for posting the link!!
thanks ch!!
Loved your colors, and the cake was fabulous! The one of you and your dad dancing got me a little choked up .... I'm such a sap !!
it got me a little choked up too! my dad was having so much fun
Congratulations Leslie, you looked lovely
I'll show it to my beloved later ---he's a total sap too :)
We wish you both every happiness!
thanks ren!
padang are you there?
I agree with Ch12 -- the veil across the face -- you HAVE to make copies NOW for your grandchildren! And I liked the other veil photo too, with it drifting across your face and your husband's.
One of my other faves was the "gangsta" photo of your hubby with his friends lined up behind him. Heh!
Oh yes, ankorite!
yeah, nick didn't get that part... the day was super-windy, so i was like, oh! we can do the veil photo and i put the veil over his head and he turned and smiled at the photographer. I was like, NO, that is not how it's supposed to be done, you're supposed to kiss me! That's why we're laughing so much
I loved the one with Nick kissing your forehead...
I call that one the CD cover, ankh
There's a photo from Dear One's sister's wedding where we are dancing together and we are softly clucking like chickens -- the photog got that, we look ridiculous, bright red and laughing so hard. :) YES! The CD cover, soon to be available on Amazon! The whole presentation was just perfect.
ah! hk, tazpink was who said she was interested in the get-together earlier this week
Oh, yeah, LA, I'm from Chicago but not there now. So I don't get to go to your ChiBabble party.
Boooo you're not? i thought you lived here
hi!
hi pappa
Afternoon Smooth
what building is that, leslie?
hi ren!
erm... i googled "chicago architecture"... maybe the wrigley/trib building?
cool
i always think ankh lives here too :(
NO!! It's the top of the Chicago Temple, directly across from the Daley Center, kitty-corner from City Hall, right across from the CT&T (Chicago Title & Trust) building. Tch! Across from the Picasso!
right, what ankh said
lol thanks ankh. :)
I think the Temple is... Methodist, maybe? Never got to go in there. LOL, LeslieAnn!
And this would be why Helen thinks I live there too. :)
hehe

he is fine Leslie, but he was on his way to work...he is in the Navy and had duty today. They don't like people late, ever, especially for duty.
same here in madison, ankh.. but closer to 48 or 50
wow Une, that is crazy 'winter' weather
me7/32 also called a shooting star Mo
me732 x 2 . . . plural of me6/ 21 and me + pl French saints + o
Sorry for the extra chill, Pappa. I understand Wisconsin too well! brrrr!

Well done mo!
True, true, part of why I'm here. :) You know I love that photo of yours. Maybe my fave. Hard to pick ONE fave.
me6/21 disposition or temperament
lol thanks ankh. I really like the full size version, It is cropped high, to fit in the square.
Mo, I love your icon but I'm not getting the clue off of it!
Which on are you looking for, Ankhorite?
Yeah, Dear One was laughing at me yesterday as I added borders to my Beatnik pic to make it square, so I wouldn't get squooshed sideways here. Enemy, click on Mo's name. She gives a clue I don't get.
Ankhorite....sorry that clue was for an earlier grid....just forgot to delete it!
it's probably from friday's clue ankh

No, Catty, don't! Your change took.
It's a past tense - to experience - think of the sense of touch.
You would need to refresh...oh, Leslie told you already. :)
Haz, is that the same word as re-covering your pool or billiards table?
Or re plus the useful craft material (re6/27)
Yes, except we would call it baize here.

Hello Faerie! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
Hi Scrabbler! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
Hi Min I'm doing great I had the day off and got a few things done around the house and yard
Hi Minveryork. I was working on the grid this AM, and have returned for more--maybe to finish.
could I get a clue on the first me7/32 pls
All I know, faerie, is that my migrainey friend can't take chocolate (or maybe any caffeine) and that there are many and various triggers for migraines. An elimination diet can find them, usually.
TO did you find the st 7/32's I just did if you still need clues
Hello capemaggie! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
hi Jill and Scrabbler, yes we woke to about a inch of white stuff this morning, there would be more further from the water, of course.
yes i did thanks faeire
Hi Maggie
hi min
ok your welcome
Does anyone have a clue for the ro 6/18 word please
hi fairie
stidmatt says hi also. They're watching "The Man with the Golden Gun" this afternoon.
team list
Actually,I need the fourth ro6/18 word if you have it
Maggie--where on the Cape do you live. I have spent vacations in Chatham, and on Nantucket, and am eager to return.
me7/32 -- oof! Try me + feminine saint + oh, ** what?
Hi Stidmama, Stidhat, Stidmatt, and Stidgrant.
Hi chellesby! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
i live on the mid-cape in Dennis
anyone desparate for clues? i can stay for a couple
many people actually either can't eat chocolate (can trigger migraines) or just don't like the taste... that's okay -- more for me! :-)
im desperate
I have about 20 more minutes' work on the story for tonight. disappearing for a few...
me7/32 the first one
hi capemaggie -- desperate for what?
ro 6/18 is a sheet that scores are kept on
Hey scrabbler, I started to get headaches when I was 10.
79 to go
min: plural of 5/10 above it
capemaggie -- clued it at 7:36
I've had chocolate, caffeine, and ibuprofen so far. Dark--it stinks, doesn't it?
I have that ro6/18. I need the fourth ro 6/18 please.
me, too
Scrabbler sounds like you need more drugs and more sleep to me in a nice dark, quiet room
min: plural of word above it with ending double consonant
I must be missing an ro 5 that needs to be pluralized.
min - ro6/18 -- a really nasty guy? Bad blighter, y'knw.
Its plural of the 5/10 before it
it's the one after that jili
No, I am better, just having that foggy, heavy head feeling, and playing babble is somewhat meditative and distracting for me.
min - change the last cons of the cad
well i am going now. see you when i can. big week for me. honros ceremony is friday and i have to get ready for guests
honros?
have a good week owl!!!!!

Goodbye Temple Owl!I'll see you tomorrow in the chat
Bye TO
Thank you for my ro clues.I finished my ro words now
bye min - nice to see you!
bye Temple!
I've been lurking around off and on all day and trying to get the words without asking for clues and without the list. I just succumbed to the list and realized I'm missing 2 st 7/28s and the 8/40, but they must be easy because I haven't seen anyone ask for clues for them.
lol TO -- have a good ceremony!
hi again, everyone... I'm back
Hi Shannon1!How are you doing Welcome to the grid!
with more pictures on my website.
I also just realized there's an sh in the grid.
I have been off and on since this afternoon and have also been eating up people's clues w/out asking. Just asked for my first clue. Will ask for many more though
st + pirate letter + a diminutive ending (rock****), then chnage last letter, shannon
I've got a st7/32 shannon1.
Hi smooth_pappa! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
shannon -- thy're not easy! The second st7/28 is like this -- think of a road and subtract a vowel. Add ** and fro. The 8 is the pl. The other 7 has a diff vowel ending.
Irish Se****, the re + irish Se****, and pl
Hi Pappa
I'm good min. finished thegrid a while ag, but working on my site tonight
dark -- that's great!
TY Jilli
hi faerie
So, what's the first st 7/28? Thanks for those clues.
yw scrabbler
hi smooooth
thanks jillibus.
hey jili! :)
NM. Got it. Thanks for all your help?
!
I just gave it to you, shannon. Same as the second with a diff ending vowel
Congratulations smooth_pappa on your early finish!!
Congrats too, smooooth. I finished earlier too and enjoy clueing
thank you! I usually finish in the morning, but the caht is a tad more interesting in the evening. ;)
*chat*
Congratulations jillibus on your early finish! Hooray!!
any clue for the middle e
chellesby do you need an er4/4 for the middle e word
chell - I think it's the baby newt -- ef4/7
yes
Man, there are mostly girls on right now.
er 4/4 - think er**while. er+snake letter+cross letter
baby newts comes off a different e
right, dark, but they're older than girls!
What about the very center E?
no fear dark... I'm tring to keep a fair share of teosterone in here right now. ;)
chell, it's hard to tell where the words come from sometimes
I would like to think I am a woman but a girl at heart.
that's the one I need, from the very center
se7/28
12 rs and 4 fs left.
how about the pl of the gaelic language?
o.k, o.k, I was close enough Jill
ef 4/7 is ef + cross letter plus snake letter chellesby.
Nope, won't work--not a word.
right, dark - lol!
lol
scrabbler, the singular is "not a word" but the plural is -- go figure
done
YAY faerie!!!!
now I can get back to my Christmas decorating
does someone have the te7/40 please
Oh, sorry, Jilli, I pluralized the other er** (er**while) and THAT didn't work. Silly me.
hello, hello
yay for Faerie!!!!!

hi stid, hi sheryl hi ak
evening all
hey lb
well, cheryl, they are nearly the same word... just one vowell difference.
hi feather, you rascally rabbit, you! LOL
ST + 2nd Vowel + two Cross Letters +Vowel... like I said that last vowel changes
lol, sending you an email in a second.....
that's a start pappa, how about a bigger push
well, helolo again, stid -- and for the 3rd time, are you snowy yet?
and for the second time, YES JILL! though most of today's has melted in the afternoon rain...
hi pappa!
helolo -- neat word!
I only got about 33 words, I hardly know any of them.
a quick plug for the Artist Trading Cards... see my profile if you're interested, this trading session is just for Babblers...
Dark, that is not uncommon! are you using one of the lists to help you find words?
sorry, missed your first answer! It's still snowing here, and below freezing, so....going nowhere tomorrow and maybe for several days!
the st 7's are new ones to me.
I had so much fun racing, feather, had missed it so much since school started for you.,
no, my mom does.
me too! ok, email sent....
i'm going to scoot, my turn soon...
oh my, Jill! well, it's supposed to snow again overnight, and periodically for the next few days, with lows maybe down to the teens. Which reminds me, I need to bring my macadamia tree inside tonight!
later feather!
fare well, feather!
2nd re 6/27 please
I got 1 st7 Ibdawger.
well Dark, one of the things we look for is if we can add 'S' to any of the words we already have. That usually gets me about 15 more on a grid this size.
okay must be brain dead cause I still can't get either one
st 7 that is
aknitter, switch the middle 2 letters after the re
I do that most of the time(for some words) stidmama
Sheryl: if you mistype a word for "road" you might double the last consonant instead of the vowel, then add a vowel at the end for the st 7s, and plural one of them for the 8
jilli i am a bit confused by that
knitter, the second is anagram of the first....
oooooohhhhhh
that's what I meant, aknitter!
hey, look who's here...troubler and troublest
the light bulb just came on!
hey evan
hi, trouble (nut)
still not making any sense to me stid
how's you trouble makers this eve?
did anyone else here that ominous music playing?
and done!!!!!!
hi nut
enjoing good british ale, nut
LOL Sheryl, the word makes no sense to me... the second one means "the close overlapping of statements of the subject in a fugue, each voice entering immediately after the preceding one" the first ends with different vowel
YAY shorty!
whoo hoo Shorty!
Hey Nutty!
sheryl -- think of a road or avenue starting with st. Take out one of the vowels. Add ** and fro. Plural it for the 7. Change the last vowel for the other 7
((((((SHORTY)))))) CONGRATULATIONS
I mean plural it for the 8
wow lb, you came in there late
YAY shorty!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
ah ty that definintion makes it compeltely clear, lol

lol that is always good to have time alone
I know it
nut -- are they nutty cookies?
A good marketing strategy -- well done, pappa!
lol thanks stid
i protested jilli, but mom insisted, there must be nuts in the cookies.
a word of advice -- dead trees do NOT belong in a floral category... unless you are trying to appeal to gardeners such as myself. I have LOTS of those!
re 8/40 please the one just after the re9
knitter, to move into a place again...
i love dead trees, almost more than i love alive trees.
brb
LOL Actually, I do need to move that to my southwest gallery. I totally forgot about that. lol thanks stid
ty stid
woot, fireworks!
What I do to get words is to guess.lol
eah april!

i have a trio of bucks that dine every evening on my crab apples and berries
I hate to see all the deer strapped to the tops of cars and trailers....
*hands Nat an algae eater*
nat, i hate to see the deer smashed into my hood.
better that, Nat, then dead at the side of the road
lol, nut. I would too!
that's the trouble, nut -- they're so beautiful. They are regular visitors right upto my front door. I just saw on the news that one busted right through a window in NC to enter a house.

snowbound is ALWAYS good, right?
well, if the stuff Jilli is getting keeps moving east, i can hope that i'll be snowbound by morning too!
Hey harp
ldb you're in Kalispell, right?
snow? what's snow?
yes, harp! absolutely!
Oh smoooth -- I have things to do and can't get out of the house. Back in the Montreal area snow clearance was fabulous but here it's so rare people are not prepared. Also, the snow is different -- slippery and slushy underneath, and when it freezes hard there's "black ice" -- lethal.
yes Harp, in Kspell. is that Many Glacier Lodge in you icon?
I diden't under stand your st7 clue kalea.
I know black ice... it broke my axle last winter...
yup. hope we can actually drive there next year. I'd hate to have to hike in from Logan Pass!
good evening All

the last st7 is a speech impediment
Hello methaleather! How are you doing?Did you finish?
hello min, thanks
Harp, big mountain said they weren't going to open til the 2nd of december.
I finished a while ago
dark, I've been clueing those words this way: think of a road or avenuestatrting with st. Drop a vowel. Add ** and fro. Plural it for the st8. Go back to the singular and change the last vowel.
I'm doing well Min, how about you? Yes, I finished this morning before going to bed. what about you?
well, that's only a few days. I'd rather they wait until they have a good base. otherwise it will be miserable when I go in March for Special O!
harp, are you getting a lot of snow?
I still don't under stand, i'm only12 ya know.
lol
mu 7 and 8?
We have just a few inches in town. I skied at Chief Joseph Pass yesterday, there was 18 - 24 inches total.
hopefully the mountains will have a lot of snow this season. March should be either really good or man made
Congratulations harpjane on your early finish! YAY!!
I thought a 12-year-old would understand. Thankdfs -- what is another word for road or avenue which starts with st?
*Think of this
natasha, a little mu4/6, add a french ending
natasah: thin little female version of MU 4/6 before those
Congratulations metaleather on finishing early! YAY!
worry not dark, we have 12 yr olds in here that catch on quite well
speaking of, where has reese's been?
natasha, mu7 ends like the ro7
mu7=one who is wise but of short stature? lol
:(
cute lbd.
Dark -- have you got the st starting word -- the road one?
ah, thanks!
dark, have you gone to lickety's babble clues yet?
Yup.

I had a very wonderful Thanksgiving in Vermont with my family stidmama and how was your Thanksgiving?

no wonder feather was in a good mood today stid!
good to hear it, Min! Ours was very pleasant and laid-back (and the power stayed on that day).
I am Minver-york I guess.Never really thought about it. It is a combination of three states I have lived in.
you won anyway sidmama
yes, and I was sweeping in from being about twenty back, too! if we were horses it would have been a photo finish (or so I delude myself).

Night natasha, Night kalea
