Woulf! *biggghug* And morning all :)
hi sprite!
{{{**sprite**}}}
Ok -- I have 55 C's and am not making much progress at the moment -- will now move on to the rest of the grid
How is life for you and yours, Woulf?
GW, I "only" have 42 so far :-)
Going pretty good, sprite -- all are healthy -- Kristianna is a typical rebellious 3 year old and Seb is already walking and climbing everything in the apartment at 10 1/12 months
mg, gw, I remember when Seb was born....... seems like yesterday
THey are just great kids :) Hug them from me - and take a hug yourself as well, Would.
Yule is big in the house this year, as this is the first time Kristianna is aware of what the season is all about... as a result we have some representation of a tree in every room
Will NOT enter clit.... will NOT try to enter clit.... will refrain from even attempting to see if it is finally valid... will NOT!
already tried!
{{*joey*}} -- HI!! I know, it is a wild trip to say the least
it's not valid
and HI to you as well Une {{*Hug*}}
And, Une? Still no education of the enable, I fear? ;)
how's the weather in PA? I am missing the Christmas weather here in TX.
Hey. From Wolfgirl to another wolf Pounces on Grey wolf
hey, GW :-)
how's it going, infernal? {{*Hug*}}
Im feeling all blobby, my fault for drinking 2 litres of vanilla coke over 3 days
4480 pts!
Kids need attention, back in a bit.

nope, not my puppy in the pic, we have a frenchie and and english bull dog
Good to see you are up mari
didn't have a pic of them hugging, they are usually not snuggled
Do you know whos puppy that is? My g/f has one and we are always on the look out for other owners
my pic is from cuteoverload.com
Grey I was on the website.
Natlt my g/f has hers at mali_nut at photobucket
Now that is a site that lives up to its name, Nat :-D
Grey i always check that site for my morning pick up
ru8
I check it out about once a week myself -- I have too many webcomics that I check out daily
Nat those dogs are so dumb they make Afghan puppies look smart
Grey im too busy going here most days.

hi ata!
Ata! *hugs* How are you doing? And how's the tattoo doing? :)
oh blimy thats why to (cuse
urf I really wanted to finish for Christmas, but it'll be the New Year ... by the end of January. I have a knotwork thing to finish with a deadline of 31st December, then back to the tree 100%
Wow, hope to see the knotthing too - I love knot work. Celtic? And noooo hurry, just wanted to know how things went. Don't make it a deadline on my account ;)
At were did you get the kitties pic from its tooo um you know
very very knotwork - this is just a bitof it - http://tinyurl.com/yzy7sd
and the kittens are a litter of Korats I met last week :) they are the cutest things!
Morning all - Diem are you still there?
so intricate ata! it's going to be amazing when done.
Been here from start
nor
*if* I dont mess it up ....
still loading from flickr.com....
Soooooooo - you'll be nearly finished then!!
mari is a comedian. :-)
how has this grid got 306 words in!
Mari no fireworks yesterday damp squib maybe
oh there blue i thought they were black, may i just puddle into a small pile of awwwww goo
Yes, 306 words worth 4480 points
they were themost *gorgeous* little things!
the kitties are like russian blues but different size
Do you know if they 'talk' like blues
i don't know ata, i'm at 125, i think the 306 is a mistake
306 words 1st 2 not found could be interesting
yes, korats are very burmese shaped. they talk like burmeses too :) loudly!
I do too fran!!
wow Ata, great project! It is a little bit like M.C. Escher, in a way :)
ooooh true!
and why isn't curlies allowed??!!
i tried it too ata
Oh dear if i wanted babies id have one. They are so cute though. I miss my friend and his kittie
yay! I have an 8!
woo hoo ata!
yah at
how many words have you got, spritey?
There isn't 306 words in my grid!!
yeah mari, that's what ata and i were saying. :-)
Site froze on me :( But back now - I only have 59, Ata, just started. Kids will leave for school in 5 minutes, THEN I will babble ;)
How come you still got a peacock? 306 is what mine says
mari, I think I am going to be with you shortly!
i have hit 34 words
I was just wondering if you could tell us whether there really are 306 in this grid, but obviously not :) means there can't be really, I think
help with qu words please just want one clue thats it
ooooh there's a chemical 8
no q words infernal, you can stop looking
QU = zero words
oh, i hate those chemical words
Mari oops you did not do that yourself
ata, what are the first two letters?
but the qus there and i was all confused thank you lots
No chance, if you ask me, Ata :) A 300+ grid should generate endless series of words at the start - and I am NOT seeing them!
nor me!!
nor me
There are 306 valid words giving 4480 pts
It says 306 but I don't think it really means it!! I like my cormorant and the fact that I don't know how to change it has nothing to do with it still being there for every theme for the last 12 months!!
Sprite pick a letter thats not qu and go for a run
lol mari!
nair
yeah lady, have been trying that. My runs are still rather short.
mari -- email me for how to change your icon -- click on mine and scroll down to get my address.
mmmm drat and all that
Just testing!
hi jilli!
any clue as to the ya6??? please
There are 80 words beginning with C lol
hello all -- back from bridge -- no way I can cope with 306 words just before Xmas!
hello jilbus
choclit is a perfectly valid word!
Mari will start you of Where ifeel like going after graveyard shift
dorky, it's a plant with edible root served like potatoes in south america
Jillibus thanks a million Diem has sent me your instructions and as soon as I feel more intelligent (or more awake) I'm going to have a go
thanks fran
a stemless plant, Xanthosoma sagittifolium, of the arum family, cultivated in tropical America for its tuberous, starchy root, cooked and eaten like potatoes.
ok who has been sending my food for the monkey as i have been going off tap here
that's the official definition to google
ok mari -- it's really very easy!
only Y root plant i can think of has 3 letters, oh i m gonna learn a new word! hehe
oh oh LOVELY ci8
ok, coast is clear. Babble time :D
ata, what did the chemical one start with?
hi sprite
jilli! *hug*
morning all
ni8/40. ci8/45 is a lovely wiggly biological one
very easy I am just waiting for the PERFECT picture or Kitt
erica
thanks jilli, i always miss that one
sorry :(
Jilli i thank you but go left
Well thank YOU, jilli ;)
ty jilli!
thanks ata, i had the ci8. *looking for ni8*
awesome - thanks fran for the Y
I want characin
ooh, got it ata! thanks again
why isn't roma a word
because it needs a vowel in front, lady.
lol, thanks sprite
i did that
but i want roma
and.... there is a nice At8/50 too there.
okay, found all the 4's. That's enough fun for tonight
Like it describea a tomato?

Nice hug Fran
nite doc
thanks doc
bye drB
hi smartalic
Hi Fran
bye drb
fran, LOVE your icon! Must go and change mine...
thanks jilli!
down to 50 - toughest grid i've seen yet
I wonder why Cu7/40 is valid. What is that beside a country?
sprite, it's a liqueur too
it's an orange liqueur
that was my first 7!
aha. I think we have a blue variety here.
yes we have blue too :)
that was mine too fran!!
it's blue, but orange flavored i think...i might be wrong
oh i need to speak to dr god as utes is so a word
I just tried it because I have been babbling for so long. You simply never know what will take - or won't, lol. So if it looks lke a word, smells like a word, tastes like a word...
Mari got moms& a&a card left a space
Isn't a word?
cu7 is made from the dried rinds of bitter oranges, so orange flavored, but blue in color
Diem - mine was posted a week before Mums It's possibly coming by pigeon
thanks fron now igot to spell it
try googling orange liqeur infernal
Or in ts pocket?
And there is Cu8 with the same start. (5 letters).
i just googled the way i thought it was spelt
And with my luck the Siamese cat got the pigeon!!
um i didn't get that but i got it
there's a nice ca6 and 7 meaning monopolies in business
yeah, they are nice, Ata. Always like them, they look so dutch :)
Did you see what jillibus was going to do? think that was a dig
um fran i didnt think it was an orange liquer
Did you see the most famous TV angels too? CH7/36 and 8/50
ch7/8 combo, boy in the chocolate factory
Bet she manages it too!!
ooh, same one sprite!
Fran, from your brain to my fingers?
No doubt
i think i'd rather have it the other way around sprite! since you find the big ones faster
I love it, we often are on the same brainwave, it seems :)
nothing wrong with that sprite! :-)
mmm i mite hae to start looking at a list soon
Very true :) Ok, the liqueur has an alternate spelling as well. Same twist as the chocolate bean.
nrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
thanks!
i'm still trying to find that ch8 too.
Mari you up for a phone call?
i mean cu8
me to fran
Two secs till I get it
got to go bbl, have fun all!
later mva!
Got it - the phone not the 8 letter!!
the Cu8 is in between the two liqueur spellings.
that should help, thanks sprite
3 more Cs - impossible!
yay, got the cu8
3 more *faints* I have 33 more!
i still need 20 sprite!
oh fudge con i have the clue for the cu please
I didn't even know I knew so many C-words, lol.
oh great, kitten has flopped down on my knotwork
infernal, first 5 letters are the same as liqeur, add a plural ending
Got it um atalante did the kitty do any damage?
nope lol, she's just stopping me from working so I have to fuss her!
sprite, so you have the physicist and plural cu5/6 combo?
nor is this the same as the blue kitties?
or do you have?
Yes, got them. Down to one and nowhere to go :(
not the same, this is my Sily tabby kitten
how many c words are there
citer
80 infernal
got the very silly ca4/6?
oh fruit
thanks ata!
31 cs so fare
oh great, now she's settled down and tucked her paws in
only at 145, going to take a break, see you all later!
So... let me do some Cs for the fun of it. - chocolate bean - bad teeth - vehicle + first 2 letters of desinfectant + first 2 letters of same vehicle - vehicle + vowel + first 3 letters of hurting - same word as former, drop last vowel - ch + first 2 letters of high playing card + mother
oh and being a kitty you go to say 'bad kitty' but it doesn't work as they are to cute
you can never say such a thing to my kitty - she's far too cute!
all kitties are cute
this one is extra cute!
- ci7/40 noting or pertaining to various anatomical structures in or about the eye - verb form of former - 3rd person singular of former - ancient sewer or what the bird's droppings are leaving from - cr + vowel + nervous habit - same word as former, change last letter
No offense to sprite but im notchating at the mo as i dont want clues yet :)-
you carry on, sprite :)
- Cr8/55 in the form of a cross - change last 2 letters into one consonant - orange liqueur in two spellings, in between them Cu8/55 (plural ending) - place of christian worship, drop 2nd letter - drape - drape with different last letter (ends in the thing that is on the end of Ata's sweet kitties as well)
And still one missing :)
change last 2 letters into one consonant - how does that work?
Basically, you just drop the last two letters. And then you put one consonant in their place :)
oh I see! I was thinking it stayed the same length somehow LOL
*note to self: check plurals and singulars for freakin' sake!* Lol Ata - got the last one!
yayyyy!
how long do you think my knotwork will remain inccessible? *twiddles thumbs*
until kitty decides you can have another go at it?
and that will be when .....?
Only kitty knows!
*sigh* I am *trying* to hurry up with this, Silverclaw!
you need to walk away from the knot work and kitty might not be interested then
Oh Ata: drop first letter from those monopoly sweeties for another combo!
I have those!!!!!
should have known :) I think your kitty is trying to tell you NOT to hurry with the knots.
I'm sure she is grrrrrrrrr! Silverclaw! MOVE!
why do they always do news stories on idiots that have no sense of responsiblity it so make me want to throw a shoe at the tv
they have a whole site for people like that, lady. http://www.darwinawards.com/ Gre at if you want to throw shoes.
yep i am away of that site.
ok cat, you've had it now
darn it
Dont move the kittie
that's only talk, Ata. She is too sweet.
I need my knotwoooooork!
aha!
do something else and she will sod of
well, here's my new icon.
I stroked her and she woke up and stalked off
jilli... is that you?
well, it was, many years ago. sprite
two beauties in one pic :)
oooh, how flattering!
Ata! Now that is no way to stroke a Silverclaw!
*grins* silly cat
grrr i wish my boy would come home
I'm sure cholinate should be allowed. silly enable
I agree!
and such a shame auroch isn't the singular of aurochs lol
im off to go shopping as its late night shopping here
but there is a C combo that is close, Ata
owww lady - buy me a late night as well, please!
there is? ooo! *looks*
so many nearly words. cauteries would have been good
yeah, it sure would have been!
macaca is almost there
coil
woops
that one IS there, lol. And the other one almost, drop first 2.
did that, sprite, bad word!
true - but it would be worse if we couldn't :)
lol
thar should be acceptable, as in "thar ain't no sich word"
rofl
ok, I must go and do christmas things. oh joy. shopping in thick fog. be back later! *hugs*
bye ata -- happy shopping!
I'm not liking this grid -- notonly is it huge but there aren't a whole lot of plain words in it -- at least I can't see them.
cares
oh, I've done it again, sorry -- should go to bed
should :) But will you?
probably not ;)
I keep being lulled into thinking I can do a grid without reverting to any lists - and then I get one like this and I am useless!
this one is tough for me too
Give up will try again after some sleep too many words and i cant get any
night all
nite diem
night diem
morning all, any clues for ia6 please
nice icon jillibus got to go to bed poof
thanks diem!
hi oggy!
oggy: ia + first 4 letters of what a magician performs.
jilli, remember your phantom ma + bad word? Change last letter and it is valid!
got it thanks sprite,
thanks sprite! Who'd a thunk it?
and thanks for the ia too
I sometimes worry that my mind gets too babblishious to fit everyday conversation ;)
what's the theme today anyone?
big hugs, I believe, or something like that
so... one for you right away, kate. How are you holding up?
really well at the moment thanks sprite
Good! You're one strong lady *hug*
he's back home and everything is pretty much normal which is making it a lot easier to deal with, normality until I get to book my flight
So very true! He better behave until you are gone.
somebody giv me a clue for an 8
where they bring the dead, kkkk. Mo8
he is behaving now, it's very strange and surreal, it's almost as if nothing ever happened, although I know soon I'm going to be leaving, it's very odd but at least he's not making it awkward and uncomfortable
thanks
That's the best the both of you can do, kate. The less acrimony now, the easier it will be to get the things settled later. Hang in there, you are going to be fine :)
I'm fighting for the ac7/36 -- help, please!
That is a strange one. First 3 letters of hurting, vowel, first 3 letters of what Tarzan uses to jump through the jungle.
thanks sprite. That's not the only strange one here. I don't like this grid at all.
Morning all. This grid is cr5/14. I'm only just over half way and I don't think I've ever struggled like this.
No, it is not a nice grid at all. I have hit the list at 59 left, never happened before.
hi SueM :)
Hi sprite. How are you doing?
with the grid? Slow and not that steady. Otherwise... hanging in there. I am not good in December things.
How are you?
hi sueM -- I'm not even close to half way and have no hope of getting there. Must do Christmas things tomorrow pretty much all day -- running out of time!
Not too bad thanks. One of my dogs is very poorly - she had a major operation ten days ago and that's a real worry.
Hi Jill!
Just hoope to get through the a's with the help of sprite, Lickety and morewords!
Ah, poor dog. Hope she will recover soon, Sue.
hi all, thought I'd take advantage of a little insomnia to start the grid. kind of wish I'd decided to read instead.
sure you will, jilli, just give a call if you need clues. I finally have all As.
Oh Sue -- all the best to your dog.
Thanks sprite. I'm afraid she's a martyr to her breeding - the breeder used a sire with known stomach problems and poor Rosie has inherited them.
Hi Natasha! Yeah, can imagine you feel that way.
that is criminal, Sue. Really!
Could someone clue me the ni8,40 please? Trying to finish the 8's so I can quit for the night
It is - I didn't find out until I rang the breeder for advice and got the "You think YOU'VE got problems?" response. She then spelt out what was wrong with the sire.
Just looked at how many more a's there are -- no way! Must go to bed. At least I got all down to the ar's and got one of those.
mkl: first 3 letters of word for stupid guys + to vex/irritate (3rd person singl)
Sue -- what breed? What stomach problems? Bloat?
Sleep well, Jill - if you get there!
Sorry Sprite. Been at this too long tonight. That went WAY over my head.
lol
Rhodesian Ridgeback, Jill. The vet thought it was bloat, but it wasn't - part of the stomach wall had folded back and blocked the pylorus. The vet doesn't know what's causing the problem. She's to have a barium meal in January.
let's see...
And the breeder knew the sire had that problem or had produced it before? Shame
Ni8 - first two letters of fake name on chat + first 3 letters of what magicians perform + first 3 letters of what teachers teach.
The breeder owned both the dam and the sire - and knew what the problems were.
Like I said, it is crimimal, what the breeder did.
ty Sprite....I'm proud to say it did'nt go over my head...got it right away from your first clue !!
It is.
and Good Morning everyone :)
hi Karys :)
Hi Karys.
Guess we have more experience with stupid guys than mkl, Karys ;)
That's disgusting, Sue. Well, good luck to your dog. I assume s/he will be neutered?
LOL...something like that !!
ru8? Any clues welcomed.
sorry you have to be so worried about your dog Sue...hope all will be well :)
She's neutered, Jill. We don't want to breed our dogs, accidentally or otherwise, so we always neuter them.
Thanks Karys. You are all very kind.
ru8: old broken down building + had for dinner (3rd pers singl)
Good for you, Sue. That breeder should have hers neutered too.
They have now - after I told the Ridgeback Society ALL about my problems.
thanks again sprite....you could keep them coming and I will be finished in no time !!
ty. That one I got.
grin, mkl :)
back
wb Fran
hi Fran
Hi and goodbye, fran -- way past my bedtime and I'm REALLY going now
hi again sprite! hi karys!
night jilli!
night dear jilli *hugs*
Night Jill.
bye jilli
tr8,55?
Karys, I posted a lot of C clues in the log earlier. If you open the chatlog and check, you will have a lot of them in no time :)
ty sprite....will wait til I'm stuck !
ai, that is a tough one to clue, mkl, let me think for a sec
tr8: first 3 letters of childish pain-in-the-ass chat visitor + first 4 letters of something to sit on + consonant.
thanks sprite!
grin
WOW. Excellent clue Sprite.
One of my last ones: SL6/24 private investigator - there is a T-word just like it. New to me.
2 more please? Need the at8 and theci8.
I am glad it worked!
did you finish sprite?
Won't even speculate on who the chatter is.
at8: at + brave man of my dreams + mother (strange combination, now I think about that)
lol mkl
Nope, down to 7, Fran.
thanks for the at8 too
mkl, do you have the ci7 words?
not yet
ok
Thanks for asking first. it's aggravating when you ask for a clue and someone comes up with(plural of)
i have all ci words if you need a clue
I'm pretty weak on the ci's. Don't have the ci6,24s either.
yeah, I don't like that myself. ci8: ci + first 2 letters of someone who doesn't tell the truth + had for dinner (3rd pers singl)
got it. Thanks
One ci6/24 is lemonlike. The other is quote minus last letter + not him.
Both ci7s start the same as the 8. Play with last letters.
Thanks much for the help. 75 to go, and I need to take off for the night. Thanks again, and luck to all
does everyone have the ch8 ?
Night mkl, it was a pleasure :)
i do karys
night mkl!
I do, Karys
nice one, isn't it?
It's a lovely one!
I did not quite beleive it sprite !!
There are so many stupidhead words in this grid that finding one like ch8 really makes me happy.
TY Sprite for all that - just came back in time
well well, fireworks. Tough one today.
wb lynxxx, and yw :)
oh WELL DONE sprite !!!!!
Well desrved Sprite - Congratulations
Well done, sprite.
*takes bow* I used Lickety's today, for quite a lot of words!
I will be doing so later
even if I would sit on this one all day, I would never find all the words. Thanks a zillion, Lickety :)
yay sprite!
thanks all :) Any more requests for clues before I run off to do other things?
back in a mo
not for me sprite, thanks!
Ok, I am off then, had a great time with you guys. Enjoy your day'night/whatever and good luck hunting :)
bye sprite! you have a great day too.
Have a good day, sprite and thanks for all the help.
bye Sprite - have a lovely day - and thanks again
tr 8 clue?
arb, has to do with a certain poetic meter
i'll try to remember sprite's clue...first 3 letters of immature and foul-mouthed chat intruder + first 4 letters of what you sit in + consonant
morning all
hi kate!
I just found a lovely 9 letter compound - pity about that!
lynxxx, we don't need more words! :-)
thanks Fran. Finished me off.
yw arb! yay!!
Hi Kate, ARB
Congrats ARB as well!
what odd looking stats today, more 5s than 4s
didn't notice that kate, but you're right that is weird
hello Kate....I don't want you to think that I have not been concerned by all of your distress this past few days, because I have, but I didn't seem to have anything more to say that had'nt been said (and probably much better) by everyone, but I would like to to know that you are in our thoughts here xxx
thank you karys, I'm feeling a whole lot better at the moment
Good girl !!....keep you chin up
BBL -time to fix dinner - 120 still to find
later lynxxx
bye lynx
bye lynn
phantom: artery
I can't believe there are 64 words from a single tile, I think thats the most I've ever seen
kate, don't look too close or you'll notice that there are 80 Cs!
and I only have 23 of them :'-(
how can choc not be a word, it deserves to be
I have 49 up to yet

Mornin' All...huge grid today...I'm betting I won't get it done but giving it the ol' college try.
go odin go!
hi odin
way to go Odin
Hey Fran, metal, kthdsn, Karys and all
I'll be late for work today no doubt...but priorities you know!
Hi everyone, Everyone getting prepared for that Big Day ?
absolutely.
hi lickety
Mornin' lickety
hey lickety!
hi Lickety
Nice grid - but no big words
Anyone baking cake with coins in it?
nice words, not nice grid ;o)
I'm not baking anything but I'll take the coins if they're on offer
metal - yes this is a real tough one
cake with coins in?
must be an Aus. thing
Don't you do that?
I've heard of it but never known anyone who actually made it
no, i've not heard of it.
whoever finds a coin in their slice gets good luck or something silly
Howdy HOHOHO all
hey hodag
hi hohohodag!
mornin all!!
kate - I've had it as a kid - biting in to find money
here in Louisiana, they do King Cakes, after new year, before Mardi Gras... and they bake a small token, (a bean, or a tiny baby. Whoever gets the baby has to provide the next King Cake
hi hodag
Horray Hodag
hi shorty
I'd be afraid of breaking people's teeth lol
Baking babies in cakes is wrong
me too and ewwww dirty coins?
even just little plastic ones?
hi shorty and yoink
Hi kth,Fran,metal and lickety.
lol yoink
hi kate
shorty which is you in the photo, I've always wondered but forgot to ask
actually the coins were at least 50 years old and old denomination - and of course cleaned in baking soda first
the one in the blue shirt
oh ok
Little plastic babies are people too, thinking otherwise is just plasticist
Oh Yoink! The Humour! ;-)
yo shorty
I freely admit to being a plasticist.
I even encourage others to become plasticists
hi shorty! hi yoink!
lol metal
HI people.
I wonder were mousey is this morning? Hi Yoink
why do I keep seeing illicit and raunch in the grid today??
Some of my best friends are plastic
hi fran
LOL, kt. Freudian slip of the mind's eye?
ahhh well, that explains your namby pamby plastic-lover attitude then Yoinks
HoHoHo Hodag
ok all this plasticism can't be politically correct, we should strive for material equality
you guys are cracking me up
hey shorty are you all ready for the "Big Fat Guy" I think he'll have to drive a car all of our snow is gone?
fine, I'll just go "underground" with it. Will become subversive about it.
I wish we had snow its to warm here for that big fat guy he will get really hot in that suit
I hear ya!
Plasticists of the World, Unite! *chuckles in most evil manner, twirling imaginary villain-type moustache*
and no Im not ready for him heehee
It's close to freezing here
its in the 50's in Ohio
*ignores metal's protest*
in the 60's here, and will get mid-seventies or so later today
hey again
*ignores kt's ignoring my protest
im msning to an old friend so sorry if i duck in and out
what's that in centigrade? I don't understand nor can I spell farenheit (?)
hi herin did you manage to get him to bed?
60s is avbout 10 degrees
yep at 1 in the morning then played about like 5 year olds, slapping each other with pillows and tickleing then slepp
we've been bouncing between the 30's&40's for over a week now thats not good for this area. The ski slops are really hurting!
lol that sounds fun
fun but no sleep till 2am
I've never been skiing
man what is up with *WINTER*
damn it nets frozen
it's weird... about a week and a half ago, it actually got down in the twenties overnight (a bit low for this area) and didn't get above mid-forties all day... Now, almost Christmas, it's short sleeve weather again.
I use to cross country ski but,I have never down hill skied. Both are very, very big here.
30 degrees f is zero degress cells
according to my google weather module, it's now freezing here, and it's foggy so it feels colder
oh ty herin, the random numbers make a bit more sense now :D
i know a few weeks ago it was soooooo cold and now short and short sleeve shirts here too
this crazy weather is why everybody keeps getting sick you don't know from day to day how to dress and the dampness goes right through you!!
oh heck, I'm missing Angel
I want snow but I don't want it to get any colder. Warm snow, that's the ticket
In melbourne we had snow, sleet, bushfires and rain all across the board
yep exactly hodag same here
good luck with that.
i want snow tooooooooo
I don't like snow, it makes everything cold and wet and difficult, god knows how I'll cope with canadian winters
dang, infernal... only other thing you needed was a tornado
we had one of those on the weekend
jeepers
well Queensland did. It smells like burnt wood out there out the moment. There is a massive fire about 250 ks wide across the board in Vic
Yeah, good luck with that kthdsn, I thought I knew cold until I experienced February in Winnipeg
I love being stranded in the house but only for 1 day and as long as theres food and drink
I bet my girls enjoy the snow though, we never have much here and it doesn't usually stay longer than a day or two
My parents have apantry full of cans in case they get snowed in in winter
although I've never experienced cold like that... I do truly believe I'd rather have that than the summers we do here
they live in the country herin?
temp. and humidity both at or near 100 for months on end
eww I could not handle that metal
Yep they live in Tasmania, New Norfolk in the hill
81 left for tomorrow...night everyone!
wtg Fran.
'night
nite fran
i would go insane with weather like that
Night fran

i dont think im going to do the grid today
my dad was born there but never lived there so he is a citizen, my parents moved out with my brother, then my sister and her husband moved out later, I'm the only one left in england
nor I, going away for couple of days
too much *stuff* to do today to get ready for the big fat guy
you can still pop in and chat a bit from time to time shorty
oh, so you are really from from England

yes, although I inherited the canadian citizenship from my dad :)

just a break in the rush of things, we live on small island, going over to Victoria for one night, shop a bit and relax
bye shorty
Thanks metal but im not breaking yet
bye shorty
good idea, a bit of a break to refresh yourself mentally and/or physically before the big events
that sounds nice flosey, have a good time
we had a party here Saturday, 20, 5 tables of bridge, then stopped to lunch - had a great time but was tired after
even good times can wear you out
After much deliberation I have decided that Babble is lying about there being 80 c's
Metal it would help if i zipped it and stopped MSNing with a very old friend
thanks kth, I like to get over to Vic. at least once a week but we usually come home same day
Yoink Sprite clued them earlier tonight?
welcome to the fold Yoinks. I decided that same thing long ago.

thanks herin.
*they found Fred
its cool im stuffing about
Later folks, I'm off for lunch and to read the C section of the dictionary

why isn't lert a word
i had 'curlies' as a kid, and i'm male lmao
i love poinking curls

I love scrubs too, just watched the season finale over my lunch hour
Ric i get accused and asked for ecstay all the time when im out as i get hypo just on sugar and caffien and i get wide eyes
i used to watch scrubs all the time on abc1. they had like 6 episodes in a row sometimes
it's on paramount almost all day atm I think
i just get bloated on sugar herin, so i don't drink alcopops anymore
So much chatting, the clue disappeared. I think kate may have given it. Ni + UK measurement reversed
first ac 5/12 anyone?

the et I mentioned is different to yours evan
et + 2 vowels
merk nearly said a word!
ahh, thanks!
I tried.
It took me forever to find it and I decided to spare you the grief and give an odder clue.
Has there been a clue for the cu 7 and 8? I've had my nose in the grid.

there are also 2 CU7s
ive got CU7x4 though

I am missing the 7,40 yet that comes after the 8,55 money.

cu7/40 Flavored with sour orange peel
CU 8/55 - take first 5 letters of evan's expert clues for the first CU 7/40, then add 2 vowels (as in * before * except after C) and then plural it

CU 7/40 = money? from what country?
I might be wrong...
chiley it sounds like feeling sick, na....
y + opp of uncle, **n* + to vowels

Hi Book Doctor Gwen
306 very difficult words. I don't mind having a few odd balls, but this is a pain!
seroma is a word!!!
yeah...so is auroch
the grid is sending me dizzy now, still 95 to go, I'm going home now
bye all
auroch isn't ....
Bye Kate
/'bye kt
aurochs is the singular
it's in the dictionary in that particular conjugation
bye kt - hope the walk home clears your head for the final 95
can someone help me wit a 7
oh nm...I"m looking at my french dictionary

sorry, got no 7s yet!
morning, all. I've finished the C's...90 words to go
heeeeeeeeeey angel
Good morning Angelsong
just dropping in , the word ochs is the German word for OX, just one, so the adoption of aurochs into English keeps that spelling
Hi Inge, nice to see you, if only for a few minutes
here is a 7 for kkk: io + not heavy
hellllooo Nutsy! How's the shopping going? Any snow in the Mall het?
tired of shopping ingy....retired to the livingroom
Hi Mom, I would love to keep babbling and finding the 117 words I am missing. But vacuuming is first on the list
don't work too hard
and we Germans do things in proper order!!!! hehe
yes, at least I try.
hello, wet coffee grounds on the floor here, gotta babble until they dry out!
Hi Harpjane.
It will takes hours for the grounds to dry!
With this grid, you may want to wait til they completely dissolve away.
pity that
mom, well, it's a big puzzle!
couldn
could'nt find any grounds to spill, but did find three more words. Off to be housewify
*poor*
*poof* that must be a Freudian slip
i wonder if poof works like floo powder? if so, is ingy gonna end up on the street and homeless?
anybody who thinks Christmas is about crass commercialism ought to spend three months as a church musician.
Ok, rant is over. I'll babble now.
That is why I said you will need to let the grounds dry for several hours. It is hard to pull away from this one
i don't harpie....and i love christmas despite the commercialism.
I can only imagine what that is like, Harpjane
right evan, I just get tired of people who complain about the commercial aspect of it. most of the complainers aren't really all that religious anyway!
cluez for the 2nd ra5/14 plz
When people ask me if I'm "ready for Christmas" I say, "well, I AM ready for a savior to bring God's light into the world. I am NOT done with my shopping and mom is coming and the house isn't clean yet, but who cares?"
You realize this is a quick rant before the Church Musician Vortex sucks me back in, right?
could I get a Y clue?
that's why my q is always, have you got all your presents yet? because christmas is regardless. have a rant...i can't stand when people say i hate christmas.
cluez for the 2nd ra5/14 plz
they are all grinchooges!
movie I only have one, it's a weather forecast
they're all confused...they hate the commercial holiday associated with christmas.
Harpjane, I only have 1 y and it is yi 5/16 Christmas is the b**** of Christ
Christmas is a cultural phenom as well as a religious holiday, at least in the western world. I have no problem with that. Every now and then there's a crossover....someone new gets excited about the religious part, and somebody religious gets burned out....
thanks mom, at least now I don't have any zero's on the grid!
YA + opposite of "me" + cross + vowel + vowel
you're welcome
thansk evan
welcome. :)
Time to fix lunch. Be back later. Everyone have a good day!
just got that 2nd ra5/14....... it's an establishment maintained for raising livestock under range conditions.
I had to google that to get it, and I live in Montana. How embarassing!
or it's a suburban house with no upper floor!
evan, thaks for that Y word. another one for the list
only 171 to go!! 8-)
same here BDG!
there is also a related ra6/24...
time for some eats, BBL

airt
I'm that, with a slightly different ending..... (I have no gall bladder)
You had your's removed?
yep
had to, it was a bad little bile sac
I'm sick of the A's, moving on to the M's for a while
My hubby did 3-4 years ago and is having pains in the same spot now. Seems like he always has an upset stomach.
just two stones though
one the size of a golf ball, and one slightly bigger
His was pretty full of stones.
he may have bile sand, tiny stones.. in the remaining portion of his bile duct, if he has any left
Dunno, we are in between insurances. If it gets worse, he's going to the ER. It's near impossible to get him near a doctor.
ma5/16, ma5/16 MAN, I wanna be a ma5/16 MAN.....ok the M"s are easier than the A;s so far
which one of the Village People are ya harpjane?
invert the vowels for a coffee flavor Harp
it's the C's that are getting me down...
I can't blame ya, 80 of em.
I know how it is to be without insurance. It's why I've not gone to the dentist since I lost a filling recently
I still have 11 doggone C's to go
We have a very, very, very old dentist in town, took out my wisdom teeth for $240.00. We rely on him quite a bit.
I still need 13 of them...
Are ya'll using the list?
I'm not a Village People, but I must admit I know the motions to YMCA!
Yes, with a grid this size I went straight to the list
not yet... not in any hurry today...
I just started using it, waited 'til I had past halfway, and had at least one from every box beneath the grid
hi everyone! just arrived and i say, no way!
Can't blame ya TO, it's a bugger!
ma6?
hi TO
hi TO :)
*wavers as she ponders janes' request*
ma 6- ma + spaish word for poop with a different ending vowel
Good afternoon - I'm with you TO - this is too big a grid. And sprite had to use the list. Enough said.
hi Haz
Harpjane, that word or similar may have made a difference in the recent election in Virginia...
Hello metal!
afternoon Haz :) ...it's a beast today...
you'd think I've never pooped in Spain, or voted in Virginia. still don't have it!
I have no prospect of finishing it! Nice to see you on a weekday, sherb.

How nice, sherb. You can babble and quote puzzle at your own pace.
how's your back Haz? ...I read the other day that you were in pain...
It's improving slowly, thanks. Saturday was the worst - still not able to sit for too long.
inconvenient time for it to happen... I hope you've got people fetching and carrying for you...
is that you in the pic haz?
Yes, kth, it is. And sherb, I'm really trying to be good, but as you say - inconvenient time of the year!
harpjane, did you get the ma6 yet?
It's nice to put a face to a username :)
kth - I've been answering the phone to farmers for years - know their voices and on first name terms etc, but have never met. It's strange!
I wouldn't mind another clue for the ma6... I got lost with the Spanish poo and the cola often...
think back to old movies, and comic strips (such as Terry and the Pirates)... Chinese pirates were often pictured in the area called * * * * *..... the ma6 uses that word, with an extra C in the middle
tu6?
Or ma6 - Scottish prefix meaning 'son of' then the ending of spanish food (t***)
ma 6- google "racial slur Virgina" - it's the word that the republican senator called someone, only in the grid it has a different final letter.
to 6 - tu + Nascar is a car ***e, change last vowel
tu 6, not to
got it anyway bunny, thanks
gah!
haz -- now we see where your lovely daughter gets her good looks form. ;)
OK the coffee grounds are dry, bbl 168 to go
thanks everybody for the ma6! :)
Thanks evanadine - though she's MUCH prettier in my eyes. She, of course, thinks she's nothing special.
eh, we never think we are that amazing, do we?
No, definitely not!
hi all... total for today?
306
exactly at the halfway mark! time to get ready for work
I have 94 to go still
my BF tells me constantly that im the most beautiful girl in the world...my initial instinct instead of saying thankyou is to start pointing out all my flaws!
thansk hursh
evanadine... perhaps he should take the tack shakespeare did in that one sonnet...
I know - but do remember to say thank you when you get a compliment (even if you think they're mistaken)
hurshy -- i do love that sonnet! haz -- i definitely do try. and ive tried to stop belittling myself -- after all, if he thinks im perfect, who am i to argue?? ;)
and now for lunch, a big bowl of corn!!!
Exactly!
I'm going to drag the kids through a few stores. I'm dreading the crowds, so if ya'll don't see me for a few days, I'm probably hiding under a shelf at Walmart cowering in fear (and waiting on a great sale). Have a good afternoon.
good luck bunny... :)
good day fellow babblers
he actually developed a nickname for me -- PGOP -- and for the longest time wouldnt tell me what it meant! then oneday i nagged it out of him -- Prettiest Girl On the Planet *teehee* *awwwww*
Bye bunny - you're either very brave or very foolish. But good luck!
Happy shopping, Bunny
That's really nice, eva.
bit of a sticky wicket today, innit?
'bye bunny, good luck on your expedition
H, he, it'll be anything but happy. Some elbows and head butting will be involved! Bye now!
hi abe
hurshy - sprite had to use the list.
Hi Metal!
;O
Hi Hurshy
did we hear anything from maniac mitch?
il be happy if i can fuddle just halfway through!
and where is atalante?
I don't know, but Cyborg declared at 33 minutes in.....
haven't seen mitch today
you called?
Ata was on earlier
there's Ata now
hurshy -- ATA was here earlier...
I've been lurking
hey ata - have you gots a busy day today or are you gonna try to be listless despite sprite not
lurker! heh, course, thats what ive been doing...having a bit of a draining day...
well I'm going to soldier on for a bit ...
i have 69 to go... :(
listless so far, but I still need 44...
heh, i have 161 to go
I have 107 to go
Sprite succumbed at 59 I think. (Not putting pressure on or anything)
this is good sherb!
ok, so 58 is the target!
it is?
no, cause sherb only has 44 left!
ir/6 21
I am back for a few more. Stumped on the na 7/32, I have the great outdoors, what needs to be cahnged for teh other na 7???
inge, do you nave the na6/21?
make it a plural
yes
or, is there another 7?
must be another 7, cause I have the plural of outdoors
well heck
there goes my chance to help
lol
there are not only too many words, there are more phantoms than there are words!
oops i said it wrong
Oh boy..what a grid!!!Afternoon all........
I agree hurshy
hi Caitlyn
I got it
It's the latinate plural of a shellfish...
Inge - make it more of the sea than the land
anciliary would be good... or archaic... and curlies is there, but not accepted...
?
NA7 = plural of a sailors compass (i *think* thats what it is!)
Think of Jules Vernes undersea machine and give it a latin plural ending
got it
eh, waster -- im close enough. ;)
na7/32 plural of chambered or pearly mollusk
waster? water, i meant!
*stress is getting to me today* *le sigh*
LOL evan
i may say "golly GEE" a lot today - just tune me out if i do
which has a spiral, chambered shell
your clue worked for me evanadine :)
hah, if it works, then it must be right, eh sherb?! ;)
nobody says golly gee... surely...
i do
You are very polite hurshy
in that regard, perhaps not in all.
ironically...?
no... i just say things like that. golly GEE, and dang it all anyway! and good gracious me!
even the occasional heavens to betsy
why does everything always go wrong at once, my timesheets for last month went missing in the post so I haven't been paid yet, grrrr
what does golly gee mean, anyway? ...is it one of those expressions with a non-PC hidden meaning?
Nothing stronger hurshy?
grrr indeed, kt!
i don't know sherb, i think "golly gee" predates political correctness
kth will you get pay before Christmas?
let's see... crap is about as strong as i go
I should get paid on friday, it's not a disaster as long as I get it eventually, just very annoying
Thats more like my talk now!!
come to think of it, i don't really even use it as an interjection, but i will say that things are crappy.
you mean today's political correctness... I was thinking about, say, the Victorians... they invented lost of expressions, like darn it, to avoid profanities...
ah, i see sherb. well i don't really know what golly gee might substitute for.
I'm all for avoiding profanities. I should have been a Victorian.
Golly gee is from golly gee whiz...both halves are corruptions of holy names God and Jesus...
political correctness is such a load of old crap, you can say a person has blond hair but you can't say they have black skin, what's the difference?
well there we go.
ah, thanks Jan... I wondered if it was something like that...
i didn't know shakespeare loved a black woman - i'm surprised they don't teach that these days in the curriculum
Can I repeat a policital correctness story? In Northern Ireland, lots of public documents are issued in Irish and Ulster Scots. Except that one couldn't be issued as the translator couldn't come up with anything better for mentally handicapped children than ' big daftie weans'
Oddly enough, I'm doing research on swearing right now...
LOL haz
LOL Haz
lol :D
I didn't know that either hurshy
oh yeah... supposed to be looking for words... I still need 43... ...somebody ask for some more clues...
read this sonnet and you'll see what i mean: In the old age black was not counted fair, Or if it were, it bore not beauty's name; But now is black beauty's successive heir, And beauty slander'd with a bastard shame: For since each hand hath put on nature's power, Fairing the foul with art's false borrow'd face, Sweet beauty hath no name, no holy bower, But is profaned, if not lives in disgrace. Therefore my mistress' brows are raven black, Her eyes so suited, and they mourners seem At such who, not born fair, no beauty lack, Slandering creation with a false esteem: Yet so they mourn, becoming of their woe, That every tongue says beauty should look so.
sorry sherb - back to word hunting everyone!
hmm, unless he just means dark HAIRED... i may have jumped to a conclusion to quickly
ok, let's start small... i cannot find the Y's
lol hurshy
How was Othello described?
ooh, what did i do funny?
why 'heir' in the third line?
why 'heir' in the third line?
hurshy that sonnet is lovely..for Anne Hathaway perhaps
black has inherited the title of beauty, i think is the idea
as a Moor
The six letter y is a frequent babble visitor--it's an edible tropical tuber
Don't have the five letter y, though...
the fact that they are five and six is a start, lol
sort of like your waistline, but with a y instead of a g...
Got in, TY sherb...
back! hi everyone. can anyone help me with the io7/28?
how do you know what our waistlines are like? *searches for hidden camera*
yabba dabba doo... RIP Joseph Barbera...
(just listening to the radio...)
io + not heavy, and pl...
Sad week for American cartoon lovers...not only Joseph Barbera but also Chris Haywood, one of the co-writers for ROcky and Bullwinkle
Tom and Jerry were my favourites...
thanks sherb - I don't know why I didn't think of the plural!
waistline, waistline...
hehe...
100 left!
Go Ata Go!!!
circumference...
oh I'm missing just one of the eights - ci8/45 can anyone clue? thanks :)
used to describe someone's size...
aHA
sparkly, do you have the ci7's
sorry to be so slow
make one of them a plural
ci8 plural of ci7/32
The ci/8 is the plural of a c/7. It sounds like a mineral word to me (I monkey typed a plausible sounding word, which Enable took. Sadly, I'm missing a couple of 8's that mymonkey has been less helpful for
argh the plural again! thanks everyone, I think this grid is making me miss obvious stuff haha
these long C's come from upper C?
ci5/7/8 - microscopic hairs, and those with them...
yep
they are wiggly tiny biological things
i gots the five, so i will try to build
Sounds like my grandchildren Ata!!
ok
but then there is ANOTHER ci7? plllt.
hurshy, one goes diagonally down/left, the other goes across left
i see
The other has more of a Bill Clinton's wife ending
ugh, good heavens, 15 more 7's and 5 more 8's
great clue Haz
nice one Haz :)
this is the babble twilight zone
Thanks metal!
Have you finished Haz?
howdy all. biggy today, eh?
Hollow laughter, caitlyn. No, nowhere near. I have no hope of finishing.
oh, bother, i didn't get the Y tuber yet
all i can think is yucca
Unforunately, I turned in my grades yesterday, so I have lots of time on my hands...
Hi Takuma..not a nice grid today
looks a bit nasty
yams
*think think*
hurshy - it's been in there before. A combination of what sounds like a yacht and a spanish aunt
tuber? y5 is scots for the globe...
a BIT!
Why unfortunate, Takuma? I've still got 120 more exams to grade. I just wish we got fireworks for finishing exams...
thank you haz!!
You're welcome.
ya6/27 ya + not I but yo* + Sp. for aunt (also part of a liqueur called *** Maria)
oh, got the tuber already... should look up the meaning, I suppose...
now, i need 3 U's, and my 5 all have to do with bodily parts or waste products
well, I'm finding one word every 30 minutes... so it's time for a break before I hit the list...
jan when you have finished we will give you fireworks!!
heh, Jan, that was me over the weekend. 'unfortunate' because now babble gets to wield its influence, unhindered
babzilla is out of control!
The first 2 u's are biological chemicals--part of DNA or RNA--I forget which
botheration, i am so bad at sciency words
Just got my last "u"--think of a synthetic varnish for floors, delete its "poly' prefix and the last vowel.
did I miss U clues?
ah, got that, thanks jan.
no, they are right there kate :)
so, biological chemicals in DNA or RNA... *thinks*
They're part of RNA
That clears it right up, doesn't it?
;)
no idea what RNA is...
ribonucleic acid
RNA? oh! ok nice words
ur7/36 - ur plus Macbeth's title (Cawdor) but put the last vowel of the word after the ur
but i don't know what is in it
oh right cos that helps me find words...
i knew atalante would be happy about those :)
you're a sill (y sausage), hurshy
is that a U clue?
Down to my last 6
Hi haz Hows the back?
I wouldn't just say that!
Could someone clue ac6/24 the one between land measure and the triangle?
*thinking more*
Anyone else convinced that there's a mistake somewhere in the stats?? I'm still missing 11 c's despite running my monkeys ragged...
Hello spanner - improving slowly!
ur6/24 and ur7/36 are available from Atalante's clue.
*pokes head back into chatlog* hows everyone this afternoon?
my stats are never wrong.... snurk...
The natives are restless because this is difficult.
Snppngtrtle - there are 2 ac 6/24
Going gently crazy over the c's...I have to get on my real life shortly.
off to walk the dog....
brandyjack! havent seen you in quit some time!
There are 4 actually. I need the 2nd one.
sorry, those are after the triangle
aHA!
I am not working from a list.
ac6/24 - the start of the triangle consumed food
Thanks Haz
Have fired my monkeys--they're worthless, I think.
You're welcome.
Thanks Haz
aw, don't fire the poor monkeys... would you fire a man because he couldn't lift a car over his head??
How about at8?
you can fire your TAs there, Jan?
Man, I was stuck with mine, even when they were useless for babble
at8 - medical term
I'm still here. Clue for sl 6,24 please.
oh no, more science!
sl 6; detective
detective!!! merk
rats i'm too slow
at8 - has a fragrant ending
The name of a detective, as from literature?
Or generic?
oh goody that is what i was thinking
I got the a/8 thanks to a2z, and looked its meaning up. Was I sorry--it sounds disgusting--a tumor filled with sebaceous matter, fromthe Greek for tumor of gruel!!
ewwwwwwwwwww
at8 - take the first letter from Dan R (veteran newscaster) and add the fragrant ending.
Generic detective. I got it, Sherlock.
*relief* thanks haz, now i have passed half of the 7's and the 8's
That's a much nicer clue, Haz...
In fact, the sl 6 is sometimes sl 5 than the person he is tracking.
one would hope
You're welcome!
Have to take a break.....
thanks for the clues haz. Still working on it
Back to the cookies, with only 203 left :(
80 C's, what a nightmare
but don't fire the monkeys!
Yay! finally got the at8. Thanks again
they need ABMW... Association of Babble Monkey Workers
I hate a words.
How about ar7/36?
uh oh, I don't think we want them getting organized, hurshy
yes we do, if the were organized we would find our words in a more systematic fasion
hi, all-- unionized monkeys?
Hmm, you may be right. Or they might go on strike.
Monkeys of the World Unite!
what if they strike? :-O
they do that anyway.
hi lib. the fact that there is a discussion of unionized monkeys going on might be a sign of the grid difficulty
evening all theres no way there can be 80 c words?
hi, Takuma-- I think you're right! :)
one would wish for such a world, rolin, but one would be disappointed
lots and lots of biological words today
:(
ar7/36 please?
been looking, turtle, to no avail
must be a doozy.
ar7 anagram of acurate
ar7/36 pertaining to a curve or bend, like a bow --- or circle segment in math
Thank you kth and metal!
Done with As!
DONE with A's!
yvw
that was shock, not me done
306 words...WOW
le6/24 and 7/40?
there are Le's... good to know
oh I have no le#s
Good news and bad news, hurshy, they're biological ones--at least some are.
le's? urk
Clue for the tr 8 please.
that's all good news for ata
leuc - leuc - something ...?
Aargh--I just can't get the i on the bottom row!
I wouldn't mind a TR8
makes angry.
anger, Jan
yes, i got a bio word!!!
I get in trouble with my girlfriend for having the i on the bottom
I have wasted a lot of time monkeying around for the tr 8. Is there a clue?
OK...fish time!! Thanks, hurshy and snp...
hahahahahaha
I'm missing that one too merk.
searching merk... tri something?
tr + vowel + ar***** (meaning old fashioned)
I've been searching that way, too.
hence our lack of lick!
i mean luck!
that is to do with poetic feet, i recognize that word!
Is there an ar word in it from the top of the list?
no!
i'm very excited now!
old fashioned? hmmm
About time we had a humanities word in this sciency grid!
*laughs very hard at atalante*
Kate, I can't get to an ar from the tr + vowel + ar
you don't use the ar, you only use the rest of the word she was indicating.
it doesn't have ar in, it has the rest of the ar word that means old fashioned
OK, I go south east from the t.
sorry, it's a crap word to clue
I am not getting it. Is there life after babble?
go southeast until the road ends, then take a sharp left.
did sherb take a break?
huzzah, i have 2 le's!
I got the tr one.thx for all the clues
Which as is within the tr8?
*ar i mean
yeah
there is no ar within the tr8
no, the tr8
the REST of an AR word that is NOT in the grid and that means very old, is in the tr8.
I know but which one is partially within it?
ohhhhhhh
i was confused
Well, that had me off course. I still don't have the tr 8. Southeast from the tr to the 4th vowel. Then to my left to another vowel. Am I right so far?
*lightbulb*
no no merk, a SHARP left.
derp! Finally got it. Thanks everyone!
it is an awful word
look in a thesaurus under ancient and you will find the ar***** for the tr8
is there a good clue for the awful word?
it's the first word i've liked, at least it isn't bio!
up Merk
then northeast
glutton for punishment hurshy
I turned the wrong left. LOL. I have it. My brain is that!
does everybody have it now?
ty, ty, ty
no i am glutton for chocolate
no! lol
Yes thanks!
which is another phantom
If I have it, everyone has to have it.
ata, it's an adj of a kind of poetic foot. not iamb or spondee...
I don't have it!!
tr + vowel + ****nmail aromor + cons
I wasn't looking for it, but after all this cluing I can't help myself ;)
(but I haven't really been looking for it either) I know the word, I'm sure, I just can't think of it!
Sorry that was the only clue I could think of
*armor, not aromar
This grid is going to go down in history, at least in my memory's history.
ARGH. finally got that tr 8.... that was awful
the first part rhymes with buying a pig in a p***
I have reached the dreaded u words. And I was into the grid when y'all were cluing.
wow, I think I've actually used that word before
thanks for all the tips
I got it
that word blows
thank you
I don't think I have the strength today . . .
got it *sigh* didn't see that last letter wwas there!
*kisses tor passionately* how about now?

Yay Merk!!!
Hello une - yes, she's messing up the place nicely.
well done Merk!! :D

Is a m***gage more pleasant than thoughts of death?
I only have 2 S's, I've found them the most difficult actually!
se5.10
se5?
which is hard cause i have some weird ones.
:-D
is it a coincidence that the house loan has the same four letters as the death word?
se6?
hmm, i am going to find out charm, now that you ask!
se 5/12?
se6, 10 points sherb!
se + ***lway tracks.
se5/12 is ca5/12 backwards
se5/12 = se + ***etrack that ***e cars drive around.
TY
oh, brava, Unea
I'll trade the points for another clue for that tr8...
:-D
the beginning rhymes with a pig in a p***, sherb
tr + l*** lomond + l*** (not clergy)
Sherlock Holmes is a sl****
do i want a clue for this se6?
Une - you should play Quote Puzzler... there's game called Honeycomb where you score more points if you can find words that read forwards and backwards...

Have to go - daughter needing a lift. Happy hunting!
bye haz :)
bye Haz :) ...see you tomorrow...
Bye Haz!
I did have a Hanuman icon up, but changed to this one instead... it's sort of like an embrace
later, haz
some themes inspire...
hey metal!
hey Annie
bye Haz.
'bye Haz
I'm up over 100 words. Time for lunch before the baby wakes up from her nap. TTFN.
i had planned to go grocery shopping but i don't think that's going to happen
right, more important to finish babble grid!
'bye Minski
can i have a clue for the 3rd tr 5/10 please
much. there is food to eat until tomorrow :)
hurshy tr5 to think of a good clue...
one more A from the right hand column - I have the plant, the thing that sounds like an 80's games console, the thing that sounds like death and the heart valve...
adj on heart valve
what's the plant?
tr10 - attempts...
a6 - like mimosa...
the plant is really a tree, grows in Michigan
ooh ooh i got it
one more M and that whole column would be grey!
thanks hursh :)
have you got all the O's, sherb? i need one.
jsut checked it, the ac 6 name is sometimes applied to locust trees
yep... let me guess...
well, tomorrow's theme is Christmas trees...and ours isn't even up yet!
o5... of the gooseplant family?
i think we have established that i know nothing about plants or biology in any way
WOW, I don't play in a few days and I pop in and it's 306 words
but, yes, that sounds like it could be it
count me as gobsmacked lol
ok... sounds like... the ****le of Delphi... plus a consonant...
*checks garyandjulie off on her gobsmacked list*
thank you sherb!
oh i got a word!
this is never going to work... I still need 28 words...

...and I know they're going to be monsters...
the second ca 5/14 please, desparate
my Monster is caled PAul does that help sherb?
my Monster is caled PAul does that help sherb?
I mean, what sort of a word is that ca7/40...
the second one i have rhymes with a collection of prostitutes, bichon, but, of course, i have no idea what is actually the second.
would love to stay and join in the fun but watching a dvd with the family otnight. So happy hunting people

tr5/10 - attempts
fish doh phew all done xxx
*blushes*
lol
Well done M3!
what a tuffy today, i have done no wrapping up. i have blamed babble for all my failings this week ;-)
ah, I was wondering how a 5 letter word could sound like brothel...
...and I already had that one... :(
sadly, i had so many failings before i began babbling that i fear i cannot blame them on it
M3 - at least you have things to wrap - yet to start!
well done M3 :) ...I don't go in for all this WTG-ing nonsense whenever someone finishes a grid, but today's deserves congratulations :D
*high fives sherb*
*high fives hursh* ...what for?...
i don't go in for all the congrats in general either, thought it was just me.
no, I think praise should be reserved for special occasions... explains a lot about my life...
lol
i think it is time for another golly GEE
golly golly gee... with knobs on!!
i've got more pepper than salt now though :)
I have a husband who thinks praise need not be given, that if he says nothing, I should know all is well. And that he only need comment if things are NOT well. So I like to praise even little victories. It makes me silly, I know.
you mean you have a husband, charm.
lol, hurshy
the second ca 5/14 pleeeeez
raise your hand if your husband has ever considered "organizing the dirty dishes" doing housework.
don't make me laugh, it gets me off track on the grid.
Charm, you are not silly at all.
one more L from the bottom... 3 x le and fibber, fibs, Italian currency and pl
that is just what i have, sherb :(
:(
lieth ng
ooh ooh
substitute
is an li4/6 that is a form of undead, specifically an undead sorceror...
hurshy is getting bibical
hi BJ :) ...I think that li4 comes from the top row...
sherb sherb did you get it?
what is the pl of It. currency?
was that clue hursh?
substitute... in **** of
hmm, you are right, i looked there, but simply couldn't see it till after i opened my mouth....
yay! ...thanks hursh :)
li 5/12 means flexible, bendable, a poetic term
please take pity on me the ca 5/14 [2nd one]
'only' nine boxes still to grey out...
bichon, we just don't know which is second. the first 2 i have are a chocolate word and the one i said before
but i could be missing a bunch, there are so many c's.
ca 5/14: the vehicle + **men (bad sign)
bichon, is it ca***----to careen
bichon - do you have the one that means rebound, sometimes spelled with two OO's?
The second ca5/14 - ca plus the beginning of the Eternal City
Thanx Haz
well i guess i was right the first time round then, lol
didn't know it would be spelled with only one "o" thnx
I still need 12 C's...
You're welcome, bichon.
is that a collection of prostitutes, hursh?
i only need 7 sherb
it rhymes with one, inge
but that ends ...em...
I am going to make a brisket from a recipe that metal gave....be back later
well, ok
i dunno i guess technically they are not prostitutes but concubines and such
i know that sherb but you go with whatever you can think of in this game :)
unless you are a Mormon, then it is must more wives
*just
sherb, i have found... 18 ca's
9 ch's
12 ci's
10 co's
18 ca's... check
6 cr's
9 ch's... check
and 18 of what peri said were 20 cu's.
but there are 20 ca's
only 11 ci's...
well then i guess we need more, don't we
only 9 co's
6 cr's... check
only 17 cu's...
well whaddya know!
the capital of... is it venezuela? counts!
Caracas?
oh no it is an island OFF venezuela, not the capital.
fireworks!
Congratulations Angelsong!
google... 72 islands lie off Venezuela...
this one has a cedilla and is 7/40
well done Angel :)
sherb - are you saying there are limitations to your enthusiasm for finishing this grid?
LOL Haz :)
in a minute, I'm going to begging for third letter + first letter etc clues...
:O
knowing I need two more ca's is not helping...
it starts the same as the cu8
Snakes, crosses and hoops at the ready
there's a cu8?
yes, positions held by people in li4 of the vicar.
snakes, hoops etc don't mean much to me... I thnk I must have been taught English before all that new-fangled stuff came in...
*beams* ...thanks hursh... I only need 2 more 8's... 7 more 7's...
me 2 8's and 8 7's
306 to go for me . .
lol
torgone! This may be your chance to beat hurshy.
we should talk 8's: i have at, ch, ci, cr, cu, mo, tr
have you got the ca7 dance... sounds like singing contest?
no i don't think i have that sherb
you mean it sounds like when you sing following the words that come up on the screen?
Not the eurovision singing contest, though?
yep
aha, there it is.
thanks sherb!
ni8
the knights who say ni
still haven't got the Venezuelan island... don;t understand how it can start like the cu8... is it a cu or a ca?
the cl 6?
CL!
it is a cu7/40, same first 5 as the 8
hi everyone, and lol, hurshy
the Island isn't Venezualan but is off it. It's a Dutch protectorate and one of the ABC islands
and now for something completely different, hurshy? heh
ca7/40 - ends as in the last two letters of the Chinese Chairman's name
cu7/40 -that should be
doh! ...now if you'd said Blue Cu***** cocktail, Id have got it straightaway! :)
bichon what are its points? and is it the only CL?
i wanted curare... the poison.
(Makes mental note, alcohol clues for sherb)
don't we all
Yes, 24 points
LO Haz and hursh!! :D:D
insert opposite of hi into the first ca4
Got it the cl
I'll take some of that curare ...
i think i got some in my brain, tor.
ok so now i need... a ca, a cu, and 2 other c's which must be ch, ci, co, or cr. LOL
arrgghh... we've had that word before...
28 to go and just one of them is a 4... am i ever in trouble
oh i was supposed to be working on ni8!
I still need 2 U's... I have the ones that sound like the facial cleanser, a pee adj, the thing peed from, another pee adj and the womb...
do you have ni7?
poly*******e
no sherb, i miss 5 N's :(
ur5/14 - resembles the structure of the poison mentioned earlier. Ends in Mr Onassis
now who would have guessed that..
ur4/6 - acid
haz... that... are you thinking of some other word?
Who knows, hurshy?
i don't have any U words ending in ari
and i have all the U's
urari isn't in there... :(
actually i don't think i have any words ending in ari so if you ARE thinking of something else i want to know what it is! :)
Well, that's interesting....
I'm doing this with Lickety's list and have typed in something I thought was acceptable but isn't. What a pity....
which grid are you workin', Haz? ;)
I think it's this grid, but again, who knows?
*weeps gently...* ...just one more U...
3 peeing adj's, a 4, a 5, and a 6
it's the 6!!
tea is a di******
Ending in the twitch?
(see how i give a tea clue for the english!)
when you get it sherb can we talk about these long ni's?
...disappointment? ...diversion? ...disgrace?
ooh nvm found em
diffusion?
look at haz's clue
it was the twitch wot done it... thanks Haz :)
20 left...
That's okay - sorry for the confusion earlier, I have corrected my own mistake.
twitch... for two... and two... for twitch
25 here!
i should eat a sand-a-wich
talking of tea... maybe a mince pie would help as well ?
would it? have i missed a mincing word?
have you had lunch yet hurshy?
let me think
i have had crackers and cheese and some petit ecolier
no... I have a packet of Fortnum's St Clements mince pies...
but that would mean getting up and walking to the kitchen...
exactly the problem
i have some lovely chicken salad just waiting for me but...
what if i miss a clue???
Ladies - look at the left hand of the page. 9 hours left.
yes and i do NOT want to use all that time, lol
it's just laziness, that's all
this is ridiculous...
the laziness or the grid?
only 9 hours??!!! eeeep!
Atalante - I said it to soothe, not to stir!
or the fact that "ruach" doesn't count
argh! help! arrgghhhh! :)
if there were a Richter scale for grids, this would score at least an 8...
On the plus side, I have all the ca words.
But maybe you have them all already?
hi all...glad I am not the only one finding this difficult!!
it's turned my brain to rubble... and all the other Babblers have fled the area... that's good Haz... now I just need a clue for the one I'm missing please... :)
wow. finally got all the Us. ick ick ick.
so, how can i help... or can i?
Silly question - which do you miss?
I keep clicking on your icon gail, to remind me of the futility of this game...
i guess all of you have the pro version so you can see the list of stats etc.???
when lovely woman stoops to folly, and finds too late that words betray, what charm can soothe her melancholy, what art can wash her tears away?
I'm here sherb, just struggling to get these last 75
right. i've got a headache! lol.
brb phone
it does help Bill... I don't think I'd be able to finish without it
There are two ca7 words.
i have both ca7's then!
no 8?
i mean there is no ca8?
No ca8
wait i have 3 ca7
nope
This puzzle ... I'll get it someday!
ok then pick me out a weird 5 or 6, haz :)
I have only played a few times myself and tend to give up after fourty or fifty words. Tends to get frustrating when you can't follow the clues and references you all share...
oh bill!
you can get the list!
look at angelsong's page for lots of resources!
we are sorry!
really?
The ca7 that looks like a cross between an auto and a trainer can be reduced by a vowel
should have mentioned for you sooner
what do I need to do to get thelist?
25 points haz, as that was more to choose from!
angelsong's page has links to BJ's list and lickety's
a bugmobile
you don't need to do anything but follow the links at the bottom of this page
okay. thank you.
The man's name, can be added to - vowel and plural
geesh, i can't believe i'm missing 9 R's!
ca4/5 can become ca5/12 etc
8
Hello everyone.
and YES ata, i have the marine creatures
Hello mkl!
well, creature.
Can I get a clue for the ni7 and 8?
baby louse + rouse to anger
told you you'd always remember them!
:)
maybe there is an R8, anyone have an R8?
thanks hurshy...didn't have those!
yes
well well well?
thanks hurshy. That took car of my 8's. I still need 12 7's. Would it be bad to ask for help with them?
no, its not a well
:P
it would not be bad
futile, perhaps, but not bad.
ac7 and ar7?
I have 71 to go and have a severe case of brain fade.
good evening everybody:)
a + the asian girl harry potter liked + be sick, backwards
ac7 - starts with pain/German attention, and ends like the ending of a flower/boring cream colour of paint
good evening jean.
ar7 stick an r in ac 6/24
where is the total number of words for each puzzle found?
which ac 6/24, you ask? the second one, i think.
it should be at the top of either list, bill
but there are 306 today
TY
atalante are you saying by your lack of clue that the R8 is easy and i should be able to find it?
no .... its a ru4/4 + ending you wouldn't imagine went on it
no such thing as an ru4/4
4/5 then!
ruch
and may i quote colonel brandon...
ru4/5 = tumbledown
"i knew a young lady very like your sister, who was forced into, as you put it, a better acquaintance with the ways of the world, and the result was only ru****ion and despair. do not desire it."
but that is from the movie, haven't checked if austen actually wrote that line.
at any rate, yay, thank you! :)
Oh, Col. Brandon. sigh. moon. swoon.
:)
sherb sherb where did you go
I wasn't going to ask for help with any of the 6 letters, but now that you mention it hurshy, I don't have any of the ac6,24s
To prove what a good actor Alan Rickman is, his Mr Slope in Barchester Chronicles was repulsive
fireworks at last yippeeee
and then he's been sheriff of nottingham and snape too!
the ac6/24 i mentioned is like to cause to happen minus a t.
oh now i know who you're talking about!!!
wtg roncook
But I loved him in that otherwise forgettable movie with Demi Moore's exhusband - I can remember the name of neither movie nor actor.
the others i have are sharper and... sharps?
Well done roncook!
i liked him in Love Actually
oh and don't forget galaxy quest!
ac6 = ac + opp of me + past tense of eat.
well done roncock

oops sorry...misspelt!!!
Yes, he was in it (never seen the film but know that he featured)
r5ttttttt
Charm. Would that be the last ac6?
lol sorry that was silverclaw
He was also in a comedy with Selma Hayak, Linda Fiorentino, Matt Damon and his partner.
LOL
mkl, the last 2 ac6/24's are related to the ac5/14.
Even the cats have been recruited to tackle this grid.
she can probably find more words than me!
All Spangle can do is lie and snore.
and oh, there's that first ac6/24, the tree.
same with Hobbit
i better call mitten in then
WAH!! ...I've missed so many clues...
Man, I'm totally lost with the ac's.

(She's gone for the cats)
I saw a blue of ca and ac clues...
mitten isn't much better than sily
vfgggf hhhy76eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
or even a blur...
ac6/24 = a type of plant. ac6/21 = ac + vowel + ***cotic. ac6/24 = ac + opp of me + past tense of eat. ac6/24 = based on the ac5/14 = more so. ac6/24 = pl of the ac5/14.
Hursh, you okay?
it's my cat :)

so, at6, separate clue from drug one, which is for ar's
oh yes... got em...
we must need some 7age, i should think
ca7,36? Please don't say it's plural of ca6 cause I don't have that either.
well, it isn't anyway, mkl!
got it...
it sounds like when you sing with the words on the screen and make a fool of yourself
ca7/36 = ca* (automobile) + tap**** pudding.
cu 8/55 please?
ca7/36 sounds like Japanese singing contest...
ty charm
cu8 positions held by people in place of the vicar

(it is a latin pl)
mr. grants sherb mr. grants
i'm all a-flutter
isn't that the tooth decay?
Okay. 9 more 7 letter words to go. Makes me think of several FOUR letter words.
oh i dunno
(at first, I was thinking hugh, not ca**...)
to me tooth decay is cavity, lol
The last ni7,28?
did you take the 4 letter man's name and add vowel and then pl it
how many ni 7/28's are there????????
yep
2 of them.
I have 2...
and you pl'd ***** blanche?
I have the ni7,28 that can be pluraled into an 8

He was talkative

looking frantically, mkl
Was there a Gordon Ramsey programme on Ata?

Anyone have the re7,36?
re7/36 ends in y
Anyone? Anyone? Mr Bueller? Anyone?
I cannot believe he is only 8, hodag--he is quite bright with his spelling and social skills.
We get Hell's Kitchen here in the summer with Gordon Ramsey.
!
it was the points that gave it away...
Hodag, I am sure he is a good boy. Does he live near you?
Which one was on Ata? I thought they were finished for the time being

Not yet. Stumbled onto the re5,14 that ends in y

He lives pretty close. We have a good time when he visits!

Is he your only grandchild? I am sure he would keep you laughing
Aha. See hurshy. You can teach an old dog new tricks.

Hi Mousey
many many thanks to haz, fran, and all the other valiant cluers
*bows* ...thank you all...
no way i was going to try this one without lickety's list, i took it out with 130 to go!
Waves acknowledgement.....
scabbler why arent you e-mailing me?
yw
Did you let the fireworks run just that little bit longer than usual, sherb and hurshy?
it's 8 minutes past 11... and I have done nothing else for the last 9 hours...
lol, no, i didn't, but i don't remember the last time i felt so very good!!!!!
mousey, you are a kid and I am an adult, and we are strangers that met on the internet. I don't think I should be e-mailing with you.
no, Haz... they irritate me... "Bah, Humbug!!"
its ok
Congratulations to you both anyway!
you can do it
I enjoy chatting with you, mousey, but we both have to play by the safe rules, ok?
mousey - it's not okay and you should be happy that Scrabbler is looking out for you.
thanks Haz :D ...did you play today?
Do other Babblers agree with me?
do you suppose that you have a certain amount of brain function in your life and that by spending it on babble we are risking dementia later on?
Hooray for youse guys who finished!
i think it's the opposite hursh
yes, Scrabbler...
I haven't entered any words other than into Lickety's list - I knew I couldn't finish thanks to not being able to sit for too long.
i know fran but it seemed like a funny thing to say :)
I'm still new to babble - are all possible words in the grid because I would have thought that 'aries' would be recognised?
i think mousey cannot be too careful in the wide world of the internet
No, hurshy, we are improving neuronal connections and functioning, and defending ourselves against dementia.
I think you have to be demented to Babble in the first place ..
Scrabbler - I agree totally and am surprised that mousey is allowed such freedom.
just forget it IM LEAVING!!
sparkly, babble uses the enable2K dictionary
lol tor
it's not unabridged so not EVERY word is allowed
we like you mousey, we just don't want you to fall victim to a pedophile, so we want you to be careful
good one tor!
I see! that's interesting to know
mousey - are you related to another Babble player?
the signs of the zodiac might be proper?
mousey is hodag's grandson
I became very worried on Sunday when mousey spent hours chatting with me here and then he sent 2 e-mails, including giving me his name and address so I could send him a Christmas card. I told hodag.
and what did hodag say?
That he is a good boy, and he certainly is a bright boy.
lol, but did she say anything about having a safety talk with him
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!
I'mmm baaack. Nothing a little (or maybe a lot) of Kettle One can't fix.
she did understand that you were afraid FOR him, not OF him, right?
You are right to call a halt, Scrabbler. He is putting himself in a vulnerable position.
My concern is the safety of minors on the internet. No, she didn't say that.
woo hoo gramma!
poor mousey...
mousey, I would be glad to chat with you here with other babblers.
can anyone clue the last mo6 or the mo7? :)
mo6 bricks and mo6 (what goes between them)
and mo7, lol - is an adjective based on that
wonderful! thanks to you both x
or just hursh hehe my brain is a bit frazzled I think!
whew, thought maybe i had multiple personality disorder and i didn't even know it
lol!
We all have multiple personality disorder! LOL
I love the line in Frasier where Niles complains that it takes forever to write out the name tags for his multiple personality disorder group.
mousey, the main thing we want you to know is that we do not think you should give out any of your "real world" information to anyone - address, phone number, what school you go to, anything along those lines.
Sparkly gem--welcome to Babble Land, and I love the kitten icon--is that yours?
Sorry to interrupt a babble family meeting. You all are right about the net. I have a funny story about my son, who at the time was 17 and very saavy and computer oriented. He was chatting w/Carol. As it turned out Carol was a teacher under a cloak, as a teenage girl. She was horrified when I busted her. She's from a very respected family in our small town. She's 50 yrs. old!
Hi scrabbler! Yes, he's one of three cats we have :)
Did you report her to the police, gramma?
Aptly named Ginger
So cute, sparklygem, what is his name and the names of the other 2?
No I didn't.
bedtime for me... hurshy, thank you for your company today... and thanks to everyone for the clues and the encouragement... and thanks to the producer, the director, sound, lighting, cameras... *grabs Babble Oscar and runs...*
Back to the grid.
i don't think it's illegal to chat under a false identity, it would only be illegal if she tried to get him to cross state lines to have sex, i THINK.
same to you sherb, it was great to work together!
Goodnight sherb, sleep well!
Time for the Babble Champions Party--sherb, hurshy and others. I won't be making it tonight.
or, of course, if she actually had sex with him, but i am assuming that when he saw a fifty year old he'd be kinda turned off
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!
Or maybe he wouldn't have?
sorry mousey :(
scrabbler - his name is ginger, we also have a black and white one called oscar and a tortishell called tiggy
you sound more liony than mousey
its ok
sc!
Mousey--we care about you and want you to be safe. There are bad people in the world even though most people are nice and protect kids.
what is sc!?
Holy Cow! Are there really that many CI words? help
I had a hamster named Oscar Rotondo, because he was big and round.
sc means maousey is summoning me--I learned that on Sunday.
lol
We got tiggy from a shelter, she only has three legs bless her!
you do so you should be able to e-mail me
gramma - some of the c words are beyond belief.
sc scrabbler!
Hi, everybody. WHY did I start this one? 6 1/2 hours for 300 words; and not the least bit organized to spend the time here1
gramma - I'm down to the last 10 C words but losing concentration now!
hi nef
it is sort of ironic, isn't it mousey
what?
hi mousey
whats ironic?
hurshy?
mousey, it's always best for kids to be very careful on the internet
i know what im doing
ironic is that people who would not hurt you are the ones who won't email you
and every kid THINKS they know what they are doing but that isn't really possible
my son has several friends who are all worried about what their parents are giving out over the internet.
lol nef
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
i mean, it's not just because you are a kid, either. i am an adult but i do not tell people my address and stuff
Pounce
it isn't safe for ANYBODY to give out information like that to people they don't know.
Time to go! Goodnight all.
night haz!
im pretty sure sc hates me now
me too - night all, night haz
SERIOUSLY! Did you know that there is all sorts of ways to trace the sites you visit and that Google keeps track of all sorts of data that we search for, our emails, and even where we go on Google Earth?
ok this is how easy it is to find someone mousey. someone i know is in semi hiding from a bad person and i google her full name and ended up with her moble
night haz
sc doesn't hate you, mousey. :)
Sparkle that your 3 legged cat? or regular cat as its drn swee
night haz
hehe it's another one of my cats :)
sc is not talking to me!
try this: type in your OWN names on Google and see what you find. mousey, type in your parents' or grandparents names; you may find their addresses, phone numbers, etc.
kittty
Nef i am not found
bye all, late here!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
good for you Infernal! You must have had that blocked; either by yourself or someone who loves you! :)
Mousey, I was checking e-mail. I do not hate you. You are a very smart and funny person and it is great to have you here. But I want you to be safe!
155 words left. You all are worried about mousey. Hello? What about me? 155? and it's almost my bedtime.
linch
OK, let's keep gramma safe! Ask for clues gramma, but I have only 117 that i can give you.
oops! Sorry! I should never chat this early in my game
nef, I want real words!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
(did that help, Gramma?)
Anything would do. I have very few CI's.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
Just 306 to go now . . .
Dive in anytime, torgone.
Nef, is that a word? I'll try it.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzz!
no im just not stupid enough to get online chats apart from friends and say I am female 29 years old live in the burb of Galves my numeber is 06666666 call me about buying a frog
linch
come on, gramma, you took nef's bait and went public with it.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
:D
0039e82847476322513
Well yeeeeees!

This is my first puzzle ... what's all this "tile stats" stuff about? What do you do with it?
tile stats tell you how many words start with that tile M.P..
Hi MP - read the help above as a start
Thanks, FranMag
Hi M.P. and welcome! The tiles have points assigned to them, and we make words out of connecting tiles. There is a great, helpful link to EVERYTHING Babble at the bottom of the screen... lots of links, in fact...
i still dont get it grrr
the word stats tell you how many words are certain lengths
hi everyone

ca + nasty bug
ca 7 = add cock*****, the unwelcome guest
ta i had the six but not that one. Bad monkey
it 5?
nm got it, 10 sec rule
This is a really hard grid compared to what I've heard from some friends about the game. Maybe it's their experience, but they say it's easy!
MP try later this grid is nasty
M.P. this is a very hard grid, experienced babblers that usually don't need help found it hard.
I think you're right ... any grid this tough is nasty!
This one is hard - but it also depends on what 'tools' you use as to how easy a grid normally is - we all challenge ourselves in different ways
Depends on why you are here, M.P. If you need to do well, you may be frustrated at first. If you like a challenge, stick around, give it a go and get better with pratice.
Fran - even Sprite went to Lickety at 50ish - !!!!
I am trying later ... I've got a life besides Babble!
The parting shot.

I had one wild night at work
faerie...that sounds like a movietitle! do tell us!
Thank God! Finally finished the c's! 8 words left to go - all r's. Hello folks.
hey jac!
I got my shirt and bra ripped completed off of me and yes you heard me right!!!!!!
faerie also has a rhett butler attitude...she just doesnt give a damn about todays grid
i was going to say finish the grid then tell us the story faerie, but i want to hear it now
Faerie! Oh heck!
>< clsoing my eyes! yikes!!!!
what???!!!
the clients were wild to say the least
So do I, Fran!
My Super had to go get me a smock
I had blood from my client all over me because he was head banging the floor so violently
((((faerie))))
Do you know, Faerie, I think that must be the best entering the log line ever!
then.....
(I'll sit quietly now and listen...)
after he got my shirt off he went for the pants but luck for me I had 2 guys jump in and back me up and pull this guy off of me
((((((faerie)))))))
yieks
Thank the Lord for that! What's he in there for? (
He wasn't trying to hurt me he was trying to hurt himself and did a pretty good job of it 36 stitches later
wow faerie!
everything Jac
what kind of place do you work at?
sounds like a scene from one flew over the cuckoo's nest
ni
ni
hi all
LOL CJ thats pretty much what it is
hi ztink, hi legend
heya legend and ztink
hi legend and ztink
I work at a facility for the severely mentally retarded
I work at a facility for the severely mentally retarded Hi Legend
faerie - are you ok?
hello everyone
Heck, Faerie. I think I know the story. Kind of seen it myself in the clinic where my daughter was. Also saw nurses and carers get hurt... so ... BE CAREFUL! Having said that, I can't resist saying that at least your are keeping the other staff abreast with events. Sorry!:/
hi faerie and debb
hahahahha mistress!
you just had to throw that in didn't you jac! :-)
I did,Fran, and Faerie knows it!
hahahahahaha
You have to have a lively sense of black humour to work, visit or whatever those places.
better you than me jac
they changed his meds yesterday and I don't think they have it quiet right
we would be disappointed if you hadn't said it jac!
Faerie - that's an understatement.x
yeah, maybe just a LITTLE off faerie!
Re the meds., I meant.
Yes you do but I love it....I wouldn't change it for anything
and Jac you ask what he is in there for......He is Mentally Retarded duh!!!!
Faerie - Yes, I realise that he's retarded, but I was wondering if there was a specific thing he was sectioned for.
tomorrow I think I'll wear a sports bra I don't think it will come off as easily *giggle* actually he is bi-polar and has schitzophrenia (did I spell that incorrectly) LOL
If I hadn't done a secretarial course, rather than the art course I wanted to do... but I listened to my parents back in 70s... but, there again, it's never let me down for making a living.... and, if I hadn't got married young and had kids later... Well, I think I was about 35 when I decided that what I would really like to have been was a criminal psychologist/profiler.
it's a hot field now jac
he sits and rips magazines into tiny little pieces and puts them in the trash can beside him nonstop when he isn't head banging the floor or ripping the clothes off of the staff
Yes, Faerie, you did spell it wrong but who cares? (Unless it's a grid word and, let's face it, you have to have medical knowledge to complete today's grid.) Oh, and Latin. So, I'm glad I studied that. LOL.
so what happened...he ran out of magazines?
so tomorrow I'm taking a shit load of magazines with me
bingo Fran you got it
plus the changing of his meds
hey, if it keeps you from getting hurt the babblers will send you magazines faerie.
:-)
Faerie - if you were my near neighbour, I could give you stacks of magazines for him to rip up.
I'm going to stop at the store and pick up the free mags the ones with all the cars and houses for sell in them
My day sounds very tame compared to Faerie's. I made 2 dozen plus mince pies, 2 Australian Xmas cakes (which have to be top-fruited and glazed later, when cold), I finally finished decorating the tree and also wrapped all of my Xmas presents.
I pity the overnight staff because he was still pretty wild when I left and they had 2 mags left....one of the other girls when and got mags after while he was getting stitched up
that was a lot to do jac!
do you have an industrial sized oven?
Oh Jac good for you Hon I still need to wrap gifts I may do that later or if not I'm doing it for sure in the morning
So, what does his shrink think the ripping up paper thing is all about, Faerie?
They really don't know because he is non-verbal
Hmm - that doesn't help.
This was my first day in this home it is all men. I got pulled from the womens home that I was in due to yesterdays incident
omg, what happened yesterday?
but I'm cool with it and I know that I'm going to love it just as much as I did with the women
Yesterday's incident?
actually it wasn't yesterday it was a while back
Go on...
jac and i are glued to the chat
but it was neglect on the other staff's part and I reported it so they no longer wanted me in the home
aah
good for you, hopefully someone is watching them now that you aren't there.
I'm not going to watch other staff members abuse the patients in any manner so I felt that I was just doing my job and I wouldn't change what I did
there is a full investigation going on in that home now soooooooo they booted me out
you go girl!!!!!
we house 248 patients so there are plenty to go around
Oh, I know what Faerie's talking about now. That investigation should go ahead. Too many so-called care homes etc., get away with neglecting and abusing patients.
anyone who mistreats children, the elderly, and mentally disfunctional people should have their butt kicked
Amen Sisters
I'm off to find my last 8 words now. BBS.
see ya Jac
ok mistress
farie - i once worked in a psychiatric in-patient hosp & also at a group home for girls, and also with non-verbal, very low fuctioning autistic kids - you are giong to see some wonderous & horrifying things
Helen I already have and some of it really freaks me out but I'm not going anywhere I love it ... and I applaud you :)
i applaud you both!
The self-harmers are the worst to see... when they really mean it.
*Dives back into grid.*
jacula - so true!!!!
this facility doesn't have any patients/clients under the age of 27. it isn't equipped for children :(
this facility doesn't have any patients/clients under the age of 27. it isn't equipped for children :(
Thank You Ren
i think kids are the hardest to work with - by far
Faerie - adults and kids should not be mixed on a unit anyway.
they would have to he Helen
My experience is with kids, not adults.
jac - the unit i worked on was adult & adolescent - there are benefits to a mixed population like that - but we got all the ones that didn't fit into the peer-pressure unit (spent a shift there once, ick)
I agree Jac but they have 250 acres it could be a unit all to itself and I hope in the future they will consider building a children's home on the other side of the hill.........I've already planned it out for them hahaha
No, that's not true! I was experiencing it with kids and then my Dad went into care and I did see the adult side of things.
that's to say we got the bonified crazies, not the spoiled brats
jac - what's not true?
Hell - my daughter, who was on a child unit, is 100% certain the the hospital wards that mix adults, teens and children are NOT a good ida.
70% of our patients are men between the ages of 30 - 70
idea.
Hell - I said I'd only experienced that kind of unit with kids. It wasn't true. I'd blanked out for that moment, the ward my Dad was on.
yes Jac we do tend to block out ugly memories
5 words to go. BBS.
oh - i agree, not children, but 14 and over, sometimes really works out great - we had some brilliant young people who were better suited to handing with adult than with other kids
jac - sounds like you've had more than your fair share there
I'm going to finish this b*gger if it kills me! It must be the worst grid we've ever had. I've been on this site a fair bit longer than my joining date shows.
Helen your right sounds like Jac has been there and done that scene up close and personal :(
:(
Hell - Probably, but that's life... unfortunately.
go finish Jac
*Hold nose.... dives....*
any clues for the very last ci 6/24 please

thanx pappa, do you have them all?
LOL, smooth., whatever.

hehe jac
Does anyone need the words I've netted via clues?
cr8/55?
Just ate 2 of my own mince pies, since they'll probably be the only 2 I'll get out of the 2 dozen and a half I made earlier. The family vultures he sniffed them out. LOL.
the first cr 6/24
mooch: Jesus was *****fied on a cross + I *** a meal earlier
cr8/55 - cross-like, in a crosss shape.
faerie, person of low IQ
sounds yummms Jac think I'll go grab a brownie at the flip
oops, wrong one, change the last letter of the person of low IQ to a C
cr6/24 - like the non-brained cre6/21 but with a different last letter.
ty
thanx!
yay jac!!!
(just read back in the log)
Like I said before, I was never so glad of those bloody Latin lessons before. Needed them for this grid!
lol
i'm glad i had a good English teacher my Junior year in high school
heh... i'm not sure i even remember my junior year of high school. lol
I am missing cu6/24 followed by a cu5/14, they come right after the three cu/14's in a row towards the middle of the cu's. Hope that made sense. Any help?
that means you probably enjoyed it too much smooth
Oh, but, Smooth, we had a perfectly manicured and pedicured, groomed and expensively dressed fat bitch, false blonde also, for those lessons. When she was, presumably, off with her sugar daddy, we got the old teacher, who was a blonde in a former life, but just preferred to sleep...:/
marie and her husband were CU****
(the scientists mooch)
hahaha you guys are killing me
mooch, cu6/24 is plural of the cu5/14 that is a french phycisist
HA funny jac. fran, you're roight... it was quite the interesting HS experience... in a lot of ways, it was like the 70s never went out of style. That and I played for a rock band, so I was having a LOT of interesting fun
thanx smooth and Fran
the cu5/14 after it is a cu*** cabinet (for holding bric-a-brac)
but unfortunately my memory hasn't retained all of it. lol
Don't think I will make it, still 10 to go
smooth - Do we want to hear about your groupies? I'm throwing this question open to the floor.
well at least you have enough brain cells left to babble.
Mooch! Don't talk daft! ASK FOR CLUES... RIGHT NOW!
ia?
HA! fran... I retained the learning part... ended up on the deans list, without even giving a damn. That's never suffered... but some of the details are blurry
hk, like geria****
or pedia****
well, 67 to go. then I'll only have a hundred left.....
IA + ****k or treat
tx
HI BJ. How's it going?
hi BJ!
jac, granted... as a drummer I didn't get nearly the groupies that the guitarist did. lol
how many left hk?
missing a mo5/12 and mo 6/21, I think it is the 3rd 5/12
could be second though
was at the beach last week. Snow flurries this afternoon....
one more and I am baffled LOL any clues for the tr 8/55?
Smooth - roflol! You still have tales to tell thoug, I'll bet!
smooth, that's true, i always liked bass players
one of them, mooch is MO + another word for anger
volleymom, it relates to a certain poetic foot
got that one
tr + vowel + ****r (that you sit in) + consonant
tr8 - pertaining to the trochee. Poetical form.
jac.... you KNOW I've got tales! I've plaed music for years, I've been to a majrity of the US states, 14 other countries, I've lived in several different locales and held many different jobs... I've got a story or two. lol
ends with a "C"onsonant volleymom
Tell 'e then, pappa.
heh... where do I begin? many stories aren't family appropriate, though. lol most of the travel ones are.
tu?
26 years' old, pappa. A baby really. LOL
hk, stick URself into a mexican dish
it's only a number jac
