Hi Mrp!
hello everyone
Morning all i have 3xgr8
I am well, debb -- happy we have power and internet back, happy riemann is visiting for a couple days (a little sad that Lucky-dog is so frightened of him; some big bad man must have really mistreated my puppy in the two years before we got him), and otherwise very content. You, debb?

It is the joint end of a large bone, usually the large leg bone of a bison, which was trimmed or abraded so that a large flat area of the cancellous portion of the bone was exposed
I think I am going to head out and find my icon for today
I am well sprite, the saga continues of course, of kids and dogs, but all with more good than ill.
I knew that
sweet dreams, dilly!
Hi Stid
that's good to hear, stid :) *hugs*
hm. have to think on this a bit more then, DRB! LOL
how about you? is the weather cooperating for you? are the kids well?
i had a picture of the 8, but it had the word on it
kids are great, oldest is starting to behave like a real teenager. I kinda like that ;) The weather is novembrish at the moment, but with some frost. No white Christmas for us this year, I fear.
DRB, I already had that gr8! But now I know what it is! Thanks! :D
The folks in New England are saying the same thing, Sprite -- we rarely get snow this time of year, so are planning on heading to the mountains one day during the kids' vacation if we can.
hi all. got my icon
gee, i'm tireder than usual
Hi Everybody. This seems to be easier for being so large
thanks ornith! If I only had one! LOL
hi Nef!
lol stid
that would be great, stid! We don't have any place close where we can expect snow, but we will make the home extra cozy, do puzzles (the IRL ones), tell stories, listen to music - and pretend it snows, lol.
ok got it, three clues in one, I am off to bed see you all later
if the british aren't drunk, aren't they sobre?
no such thing, hurshy ;)
well, i was speaking hypothetically, of course
grin
that sounds perfect to me, Sprite! we have new games, books and lots of cool things to play with this time of year....
:O
sprite!
couldn't resist... am sooo sorry :)
rofl....
Aw, I want to ad ers to the re7/40 and get a 10 letter word. Who makes up the rules on words?
ALF
the rules on words are totally in the hands of enable dictionary - and drG, who declared nothing under 4 letters would be valid.
or, you know, a serious answer.
whatever.
Why isn't someone who uses his mind a lot called a br7? With a nice plural 8?
I will stop when I reach 100 words.... that is in 8.
well we do say a no br7...
sprite, that's a no-br7: enable once again
what? you've never hear of no br7?
when something is easy
english isn't her first language, doc :)
Guess I am a no-br7 now :)
it isn't a person, sprite, it's a thing that is easy
thanks :) Learning something new every day is my excuse for babbling!
and that's a hundred. a mere and lovely 136 to go when I get back in my morning ... sprite, I am so glad that you came on while I was still here! From one mother of a teen to another... {{{enjoy the good times}}} and enjoy your holiday!

friar
Sorry didn't have a clue what you were talking about
said I had the sleepies --sorry again
oprah, gives away a lot of stuff, and she gave everyone cars one day, everyone in her audience
Hmmmm ... one way to get an audience I suppose
they didn't KNOW she was going to
and one way to get a car
Of course, otherwise can you imagine the mayhem ... doesn't bear thinking about
lots of the people gave them away to more needy folks
so that was nice
what do you do if your shirt gets wrinkly again? riddle me that.
You sound like you're repressed hurshy
i do?
what do you spose i'm repressing?
oh joke
hahahahaha
this is good one

it is, Fran! Fast as lightning so far
I think it's ea 6/18 than even the small grid yesterdat LOL
yes, I think so too
one of the Ss is in the wrong place though
and thanks angb!
lol fran!
I am in love with Er6/30. Such a pretty word that is.
whew, found it! i didn't want to ask for a clue so soon. :-)
Don't you love it?
yes, a good one.
it is an Atalante word :)
definitely sprite!
whew! found that - and accidently e4.8
thanks lynxxx
one S, 2 Ts - why do I always end up with Ss and Ts?
don't look at me, i still need 13 Ts! :-)
hello chiquitas and others
hey kier!
hello kierlex
brb, going to get an icon.
Trick that usually works: I check for forgotten plurals and singulars and such. Fireworks. This grid is incredibly low on unwords :)
hi kier

Congrats Sprite
bravo, Sprite..

these words are giving me deja vu
FranMag, I just learned that my ex-kindergarten teacher lives in Pearl City!
cool kier!
now you have a reason to come visit
she is a minister at a church there.
that's cool, what church?
i would love to! esp now, it is about 25 degrees here!
she is at the trinity united methodist church
that was my first guess kier
it's not far from us, just down the road in fact
oh have you been to that church?
no, but we pass it at least twice a week
it's right on the main road that runs through Pearl City, Kamehameha Highway
i looked her up on the internet a few months ago. she really made an impact on my life! And she was just my kindergarten teacher and then she moved back to hawaii after one year (and that was 34 years ago!)
she must be a great lady kier
i really liked my kindergarten teacher too.
just got back to see sprite finished already! YAY sprite
i've only been to honolulu and then Kauai
hi jilli!
well Pearl City is only minutes from the airport, very close to Honolulu
jilli, i have a link for you
hang on
http://dontoearth.blogspot.com/2006/09 /on-packaged-dinners-etc.html
cool. not sure if i'll go back to honolulu. I like the name 'pearl city' though... it is very poetic =)
it's the city that's right on the harbor...pearl harbor, hence the name
jilli, i thought of you when i read this post because he wrote about heating up a "meal for one" which you often talk about.
I am off, shopping and such. Have a great day/night/whatever and happy babbling :)
See ya sprite
later sprite! you have a great day too
ooohhh. i didn't even think of pearl harbor. i just thought of 'pearls' sorry. a little slow =)
by the way, i have my clue icon up
well the harbor is probably named after pearls. :-)
not sure though, i'll have to look that up.
thanks fran -- went to the llink -- interesting -- but he talks about getting a taxi and going to a fast-food joint. On this island taxis are rare and expensive, and fast-food joints are non-existent (thank goodness). He loves at the other end of Canada.:D And my, but he's OLD!! 92!!!!
yes jilli, i found out that he's 93 or will be soon.
he writes the posts in long-hand and has someone else put them on-line
well, i thought of you when i read his dinner for one post, you often talk about heating up your dinner
i thought you might be inspired to write a blog yourself since you have so many interesting things to share all the time.
Yay - its raining!
has it been dry?
We've had huge bushfires constantly for 3 weeks all over the state - hopefully this will put some of them out.
that would be good
They have just called up another 50 NZ firefighters to join to fight the fires lynxxx
TY NZ ! what a great bunch
We keep a tally - if we need help this side of the ditch we give you a call LOL
i hope you're out of the path of the fires lynxxx
It's very scary though lynxxx. Do they think the fires are natural or arson?
I'm in the city - thanks goodness
oh good
can't be good for air quality though, wherever you are.
The majority have been natural Ang - Lightning strikes - except for one incident that are are aware of. Fran - the whole state has been covered in smoke - quite thick at times
taking a short break, be back in a bit.
Here's my icon clue I bet everyone has.
lobsslob
soar
whoa -- sory
did it give you lobslob?!?
*sorry too
I do unforunately Jilli - could you swap it for an O (joking - well just a little bit!)
too bad, lynxxx -- Ionly just started and have all of 36 words and only one o -- angb's ocpn!
*icon (tired)
Hey Ang ! what was it you said you did ???
I mean, I'm tired, not angb's icon (not ocpn)
lol mari
You guys talking to me? I was reading a Xmas story to the boys

hey, lynxxx!
re 7/40 from that shouting please mkl
aha thanks
yw jilli, angb and une
LOL
good one angb!
mkl, pleas re7/40 from asking these questions!!
Most of the larger words in this grid just flowed out of the screen. A few are sticking though.
what's funny is all the ladies got my song clue. :-)
I have one 8 letter word to find - this must be an easy grid LOL
wow angb! i only have 3
Just sweet little songbirds we all are ....
I love this grid ....
only founs 2 8's so far, gr & tr!!
2/3rds I found easy enough - now using Lickety
found that is
No list yet Fran either
br 8
don't break your arm ...
gr8
i have another gr lshult
another gr 8
just fuond a 2nd gr8
awesome angb!
(the no list thing)
sn 8
there is 2 tr 8s
sneer
sorry
and frans wo
Good morning/evening all. I see this grid comes with a seal of approval from babblers!
thanks lshult! that led me to an sn8!
morning Haz
hi haz! nice one
The tr is the one I am missing - goes looking
found the sn8, but not the br8 yet!!
Its a plural of br 7/36
see my icon for wo8
don't have the br7 either
thnx lynxx - now have all the 8s
i need br and another tr now
It is sort of like the full word for br 4/6
rent
thanks angb, that did it for me!
That is if you can't spell properly
lol, i guess i can't since i found it immediately! :-)
sorry ignore that
LOL Fran ... think I'll pop off and QP - see ya all later.
i found easily and i know i cant spell hehe
i have tr8/40, how many points is the other one?
later angb! don't laugh at my scores today
the Same
Very similar
Not the scores Fran - but the trs
I guess everyone has wo8?
got it angb!
i got it jilli, i already had the singular from earlier
got the br8, now for the wo & 2nd tr!!
ishult, click on my icon
si7,28? Please?
mkl, yes si**** bob
plural of that
Say again?
it's like the plural title of the king, but you double the letters in the middle
jillibus, still don't have wo8, googled Bruno C'copa , didn't help!?!
lshult, plural of person that frets alot
dont wo*** be happy
hi ursh!
mkl, did i lose you with that clue?
Yep. I really have no idea who si**** bob is.
aaaaahhhhh!!, had the wo7 ages ago, didn't add the plral!!!!
Hi guys - also am trying to find bob??
knew it would come to you ishult!
okay, try this, si4/4 is what you call the king, the next 5 words all build off of that
just 2nd tr (got tr8/40) to finidh 8's
Ishutt. Lots and lots of extended words in this grid
wtg lshult
now I can't find the br8
the si7/28 is the plural of the si4/4 with the middle letters doubled up
charcoal cooker, jillibus
Thanks Fran. That was simple enough. :-)
jilli, br8 sounds like a lengthier br4/6 (lingerie)
but it means what une said
yw mkl
thanks, une -- I wanted a z in it
yw :-)
ishult, did you get the 2nd tr8? one teaches and the other is taught
okay, leaving 71 for tomorrow, see you all later!
bye Fran
bye, fran!
Bye FranMag - sleep well.
Bye Fran
bye fran, and thanks for the help!
haz, you're being so quiet, forgot you were here! night all!!
I'm ever so humble, I know my place......
thanks for the second tr8, une!
yw!
Uneaixoise, ty, got all the 8's now, just 5 7's & another 122 words left!!!!!
I'm missing one 8, don't know which yet...have 2 tr8s, wo8, gr8, br8, sn8. What's missing?
hy folks please explain babble
i think we're missing the same 8--the second gr8
on7,28? That'll be my last 7 and 8
Hi Rain. Welcome.
If you click on Anglesong's babble page, under Friends of Babble, bottom left of page, that gives a good explanation.
thank you
Click on the help button above the chat log
mkl - the on7 is the comparative for 'awkward'
gr 8/50 More gr 5/15 with an extra vowel une and jilli
Morning Haz, are you babbling today?
there are 2 gr8s???
mkl, weird spelling of "more testy"
* gr 5/14
Good morning FMitch - I'm doing it via Lickety's page, as I may not have time to complete the grid. But it is a fun one today......
thanks, angb!
How are you feeling?
yw une
thanks. Can't believe it popped out like that. Good clues.
I think that's the gr8 I have, une -- hint for the other one, please!
plural of gr7/36
the other is more verdant
lol ditto. Bit thick headed still as slept for 12 hours interspersed with coughing. How's the back?
Those who gr 5/14
I suppose - but it's very odd.
The back is bearable though not for long sitting stretches yet.
Crud. Just looked at my clock at it's quarter to one. Gotta scramble for my 4 hours of sleep. Night all and Luck.
nite mkl
Sleep well mkl - the rest of the words await you.
3:45am here . . . off to attempt a bit of sleep! BBL
Faders
bye une
I have a verdant gr5/14 and its extras, one of which is a gr8. Is the other gr8 similar?
It builds of wheat gr 5
jill, the other is plural of gr7--one who works with wheat and rye . . . and plural :-)
There is a gr 5/14 of truth in what I say
ok, gang, got the base word now -- thanks
and got the 8 to complete the 8s -- thanks
the no5/10, please. The second one.
plural of no 4/4
Thanks!
That means I am looking for the first no 5/10 - off to look.
Think I'll leave the last 60 till tomorrow. Good nite everyone - happy babbling
Good night Angb - sleep well.
Nite Haz -
eyes slamming shut which makes it difficult to see words
Looks like you might need to go to bed as well, jillibus!
georgiaj -- is your icon a clue?
Sorry, old puzzle.
morning all
ok, was trying to make a newel post out of it - lol!
kthdsn -- hello
hi everyone
hi annotherone
hi annother
hi kth hi jilli
110 words without Lickety's list. Must go to bed now and hope to get the last 126 tomorrow -- if there's time!
Time to go - bye all!
bye jilli and haz
I loaded the list at about the same point but it hasn't done me much good
night all -- *poof*
You with us mari?
Morning diem :-), just survived shopping in M&S in fog bound Milton Keynes, how are you?
I sold my house yesterday so am really pleased, didn't think I would get it away before Christmas
Hi katie good thanks surviving wind rain etc heard about house fantastic
hi katie, thats good news for you
We've just got fog here, not too bad but typical brits the country is grinding to a halt, or at least London, and that's all that counts ;-)
Hows Mr fuggels?
Thanks kthdsn, it was really good news. Fuggles is fine, spoilt as always, I've left the heat on for him today.
Thanks to you we got 2 deer on front lawn
you have to send me a picture!! I'm going to get a house with a front garden next time and you won't be able to move for lights!!
You up in Brum today?
I'm in Milton Keynes today but we get to leave a lunchtime. I going to Bry's tomorrow hopefully missing some of the traffic.
It could be nuts?
Im offtill at least 2nd week in Jan
Probably will be bad but I will just truddle up slowly and leave plenty of time. Chocolate is the magic answer to a good drive
Katie, dont know which way you are going, but some patches of motorway round brum are fog bound...take care
Thanks spanner. It's bad here so I'll leave it till tomorrow and hope it is a little better.
I hope you have a really good christmas diem, I do miss you both :-)
We have a transport business, so I know its bad, and the forecast for tomorrow isnt great either...just be careful. People seem to rush heedless at this time of year..
How you doing on grid katie? got my 1st fireworks yesterday
I keep forgetting it's nearly christmas, it just doesn't seem important this year
I know what you mean spanner, there is always one nutter with no lights doing 90
I've only got 35 so far, but no intention of doing any work so I've got another hour an a half to work on it. Haven't had fireworks in months :-(
I know Kate. I keep thinking its cause all my kids are grown up and left, but I think that the atmosphere just isnt the same this year
I don't know how we're going to hold it together and manage to have a nice happy day for the girls
Your mam probably finished hours ago!!
I hope so kate. Christmas is adifficult time emotionally, I find
She's being really quiet!! diem rescued me from a miserable Christmas last year and now i'm looking forward to it, but it can be a very difficult time of year.
it's not the christmas part thats difficult, it's the part where my marriage fell apart and we're trying to behave as normal to protect the kids from our pain until I have chance to get them to canada to be with my mum
I think its because people look forward to it so much for all different reasons, and sometimes the reality can be a letdown
Whats difficult Kate is holding it together and being civil, when you are spending more time under the same roof...
we're managing to be civil most of the time, we still like each other, it's just getting harder and harder to hold it together as it sinks in and becomes more real
Its hard. Ive been there and done that, so i know, but Kate, things WILL get better, just carry on being brave and thinking of the girls. My thoughts are with you
and now I'm getting so scared that he won't have the money for me to leave
Mari you on here?
Kate, my life fell apart last year and thats why diem rescued me at Christmas, but things are so much better now. I know it doesn't seem it but time is a great healer
Just phone her, she's been shopping will be on in a minute
Sorry I meant I had just phoned her and she will be on in a minute
it means so much to me that the people here care so much, babble land has become my sanctuary, my outlet for all the crazy thoughts that won't leave me alone, it's keeping me sane having a 24 hour caring support group
Kte things always have a way of working themselves out, and all the worrying in the world wont change anything. I know its difficult but just hang in there. Something good is always around the corner, though at times it doesnt seem like it at the time
On now Diem - barely escaped with my life at the shops!!
hi mari
I know what you mean. Be brave sweetie, everyone is pulling for you...
was it worth it BIG presents?
Kate, I took refuge in babble as well and everyone was fantastic, it really helped.
Mari you get all the 8s?
Diem - I hope its really BIG presents!!
I finished all my shopping before the rush began - then ran out of toilet rolls for heavens sake!!
Need them this time off year for sure
Little presents this year we need a holiday in the sun!!
Please..................how many holidays in the sun?????
I feel numb again today, my mind keeps shutting off to stop hurting
Sun whats that?
I've got 2 x 8'S .Excuse me - we lead stressful lives and need regular breaks
I could use a break in the sun, I've never been on a sunshine holiday
fuuny, here in oz we all wish for a cool xmas, this year there is much excitement because the surrounding mountains may have a white xmas day
hi all :)
Kate you WILL survive this, you can get through the pain, and each day you will begin to feel a little stronger, and you will heal, but it will take time. Concentrate on the girls. They need you, and you need them. Kate what you are going through is a period of grief, but you will come through it healed if you give it time
apart from babysitting & hamster sitting, explain the stress!!
Well put spanner I couldn't agree more.
Take the hot food last then Run to a table been there done it
I know that you're right spanner but sometimes it's so hard to believe that
hey dezyon, I was thinking the same!
lol jg, still xmas on the beach with beer and seafood is lovely - not that i get to the beach nearly often often
I've a husband,kids,grangkids,3 cats and a real Xmas tree that's casting things don't come more stressful. Oh yes they do husband has dropped a kilo of sugar all over the kitchen floor!!
If we had mountains we wouldn't be able to see them for the fog anyway, but there seems no chance of a white christmas here this year, unless you count the visibility!!
I know. And its doubly hard because of the suddeness with which these things happen, but give yourself time to grieve, and dont bottle things up and before you know it it will be another new year, and youll wake up one day and relise how much better you feel
Mari - you forgot to mention that your daughter never caused you any stress and was a joy to have in your life ;-)
lol katie - usually the closest us aussies get to white xmas is that slice made from puffed rice
true, but I always think life is less stressful without th extreme heat, but the prediction of 16 here in melb seems a joke! Fancy eating appropriate hot food!!!!
i hear ya jg, will b nice to b able to do the turkey or ham without melting into a puddle in front of the stove
I'd love to have a nice summery christmas, I really hate winter
Katie we have stuff that actually goes in stockings mari at least you know where the sugar is
Winters in england are just dreary, dont you think
they are, grey and miserable
i think england is overall dreary myself
It would have gone in stockings last year had the stockings been made to fit a giant!!
I'm hoping that I'll like canada a lot better, it was really nice when I visited my mum, but I don't know how I'll deal with the snow
I cant complain, I live in a beautiful part of the country
Wrap up warm and get snow shoes...
i hear canada is wonderful
amongst the dreary weather, I'm sure there is a little ray of sunshine
I don't like snow in england and we barely get any
good thing about snow is that u have every excuse to stay in bed with a good book
Just rain and mud...and fog LOL
not when you have 3 kids to look after dezy
kath, I think they cope with it much better in Canada, here things grind to a halt with half an inch
How long for completion on the house kati?
I love snow, but I hate the slush thats left when it melts..
it's not all that foggy here at the moment, we must be lucky
well i have 2 katie, they usually jump in with me and we all read together, then i get up and make us all pancakes wen we get hungry and eat them in bed
oh that sounds nice
God Kate its like a bag here. I have had to put the dogs light up collars on, cause I cant see them if they are 10 yards away!
Diem, I'm not sure at the moment but they are coming round to measure up this afternoon. Loads of things could go wrong yet but I'm just going to hope for the best, I think it will be around the end of Feb
going now things to do will be back on later "Poof"
bye mari
bye mari
Later mari
spanner, is that true lights on the collars! lol
Bye its3am here
bye diem
bye Diem - I'll phone you christmas day - love to you all :-)
bye diem
nice yorkshire dialect word in there today! Meaning 'nothing'
bye kati lots of love
Bye Diem. Jg would have used tree lights but the electric wire didnt stretch far enough...
ty sparkly hadn't seen that one
can't get over it, still chuckling, very cute though
yw! I actually talk like that when I'm not a work... I must sound so common! hehe
I live in yorkshire but avoided the accent
kinda weird that such a little country has so many regional dialects
Well gotta go, dogs are going mad for some exercise and i have to sort out the chickens. I have such a hard life...LOL
bye spanner
by spanner thanks for the laughs
bye spanner
I don't have a strong yorkshire accent, but occasional words do slip in to my vocab!
My brother however, lives near Barnsley...
my kids keep picking up the odd bits, I think they're sick of me telling them how to say things properly
lol
lol i really like the diversity - aussies are pretty much all the same, slang varies a little, but the sound is pretty constant
it drives me insane, the always argue "but that's how the teacher says it"
you should worry i've got a birmingham accent!!
we'll be the ones with a funny accent when we get to canada
LOL, i have an essex accent i say kew instead of cow, sometimes lol
lol
lol
lol m3
ooops!
they sa na instead of no, they know it winds me up hehe
they * kids soz , morning all
that one really annoys me m3, my kids say ner instead of no
morning!
hi m3
My son's lates thing is " that sucks" he says it for everything ewwww
be back later, our boiler broke last night (freezing!) someone is coming to fix it hopefully :)

Hi Kate, Dezyon and Katie
that is a good thing Kate.
I know Dezyon, it was so nice to get finished with the grid early yesterday.
Thanks kate
what for diem?
Kate. I am as busy as everyone else today. If you can give us clues to the 8 long words, it seems to cut my time on the grid way down.

Hi Jacula. Yes, the R's have hijacked the grid

Don't you read the papers or watch the news, Katie?
no never
Good Lord!
Oh, well. Never mind.
news makes me worry about things that are irrelevent to me so I don't pay it any attention
I don't either, but I'm eleven ... there's a kid in my class who recites all of the news stories every day
I'm going to take the opportunity to vacuum the carpets since everyone's gone out. Saves having to 'hoover' around people. BBL.
msot things are relavent in some ways now days it seems
cya jac
bye
Yeah, by jacula

good morning all - haven't been here in a few days, and probably won't have much time until after Christmas - but - I did want to pop in and wish all babblers the happiest holidays that they can have. :-)
hi wolvie
And the same to you and your family Wolvie!!
thank you and to u 2
Hi Wolvie and a very happy holidays to you and yours
hi kt - how are you doing?
I'm up and down, it's getting harder as it sinks in, I'm still hanging in there somehow though
that's good to know - the hanging in part - even tho I haven't been online, I have been thinking about you. Take care. :-)
Hello everyone
Hi Jester
thanks wolvie, are you not staying to do the grid?
hy jester
and of course, once I signed on, you KNOW i had to start this grid, right? LOL
hi jester
Of course, Wolvie. I have already been here once this morning but it keeps drawing me back, despite all I have to do. Just no will power
it's my last day at work today, I can't believe I quit
oh - getting ready for the move kt?
It will be hard Kate, but think of going to see your family
yeah, still waiting for money though
Perhaps you can get a similar job in Toronto
I hope so mom, would be nice
oh Kate, I was hoping he would have it by now
Good morning everybody!
Hi Charm
You still going to be a regular Babble player, kate?
hy charm
hi Charm
me too, he hasn't been able to get hold of the guy, it's getting very frustrating for both of us
yes mp, how could i leave babble land
I can only imagine how difficult it must be
Well, I hope that we'll be able to console you ... something normal, I guess
Hey, Wolvie, Raine
it's the last piece of my puzzle, I've got all the plans made and everything is ready but I can't pay for it yet
I hope it falls in place soon Kate
I need some clues, like: de5/12+what makes a car go(that's from yesterday)
my mum is trying to convince me to beg for my job back but the only thing keeping me going besides you guys is planning my new life, if I thought I had to stay here and bear more of this hell, I would rather shoot myself in the head
Can you get your job back, Kate?
no, I don't even want it back though, but no
MP - sorry - I wasn't on yesterday, so I can't help you
No, i mean just clues like that that
... oops, is an example. Clues for today
Kate, I will hope and pray that the money comes through quickly
ah - sorry. I just started, so I probably don't have words that you need. :-)
thanks mom
You know, Kate, parents arethe conservative sort, firm believers in he bird in hand theory of life rather than jump for your dreams. I know that sometimes you have to do the right thing for youself rather than what makes them feel best.
hey wolvie, happy holidays to you too
No, wolvie, I'm eleven and bad at babble if you have anything longer than 5 letters it's okay
mp if you let us know what words you're looking for we might be able to clue better
a statue for lovers?
How am I supposed tell you? I don't know them ... go to lickety's right
opp of harder is ea**** = M.P.
I started with the b's -one br 5/6 combo is like fr*** tuck, but with a b in place of the f
yes charm, my mum thinks I'm being ridiculous, she can't see that I'm just trying to stay sane, lack of money can't force me to stay here, I know something will work out somewhere, because it has to, somehow
another br 5/6/7 combo is a word for soaking anything in a salt solution - , then add er , then plural
Kate, my sister went to NYC to start her life, much against my parents wishes. (She didn'thave children, tho.) She admits life is harder there, but she loves having her independence.
another e 6 word is also a word for scarier
well guys - off to do shopping (food) for weekend - hope to bbl, but again, if not - happy holidays to all!
the way I see it, we already have nothing, I'd rather have nothing and be around my family and struggle to get by than have nothing and be alone and struggle to get by
by and same to u
bye wolvie. happy holidays to you, too.
Bye Wolvie and the happiest of holidays
bye wolvie, nice to see you online
bye wolvie, happy holidays to you and your

it's getting harder to keep going the more it sinks in, and still no word on the money front
when is your flight?
I haven't booked yet as I have no money yet, I was hoping for jan 11th but who knows
oh ok...so if he doesn't come through with the money by say, 2 JAN, get a lawyer and seize his assets and income
he has no assets to seize
oh, I bet he does...does he have a car?
we have a house that is worth less than the mortgage and a bunch of debts
he has a job? you can have his wages garnished
nope no car
he is contractually obligated to care for your children, he has to pay ...does he have life insurance from work>
he doesn't earn much, it would be more hassle than it's worth to try and fight money from his wages
no nothing at all
we were only just scraping by as it was
that's why he was borrowing this money for me, he is just having trouble getting hold of the guy who's lending it
hm...is it imperative you rely on him? you can't get any money from your family?
they don't have any either, dad is out of work and mums wages barely cover their expenses
wow that is a pickle...why exactly are you leaving the country? to be away from him?
no I'd love to stay near him, I need to be with my family though who are in toronto
I have wanted to be there for ages, we were planning on going together
ok...I see.
since I have to rebuild my life, I need to do that where I WANT to be
the only thing stopping me right now is the damn money
I wish I had a solution for you Kate...the only thing I can think of for you is to try and get a credit card
I have about ten of them, all maxed out
Can your family in Canada pitch in enough for tickets and a bit of start-up?
he was borrowing enough to clear my cards and give me a fresh start, he still says it's definite that he can get the money, it's just chasing up the guy
you must be going out of your mind
no charm, I've asked them
they're trying to get me to stay here til I have paid off my cards, but I can't face doing that
I think it may be your only option right now...unless you declare bankruptcy
you're young, you can recover from it
staying here is not an option at all, I would rather shoot myself
I have faith, I don't know in what, but I'm sure that something will fall into place
no you wouldnt kate. think of your kids
if you move to Canada and even if you earn $90 000 a year, you'll never pay them off...the exchange between the pound and the dollar is like 3:1
you need to unload that debt...either onto him or the bank...
I believe him when he tells me he can get me the money from this friend of his
get him to get a card in his name
he has cards too, all maxed
we had a really hard few months last year with no income at all, we're still trying to recover from that
no bank will give either of us more credit
bbl
I see...I sure hope your plan works out
we were just managing to get our heads above water, then it all fell apart
Good Night All
bye tiny
night Tiny
I hope so too rae, the waiting is killing me
Kate, you deserve the best life has to offer, don't let him dick you around. You are a beautiful person
ok..i feel very silly here...but i cant find the no4/4..i have the distorted facial feature
oh, japanese sushi roll up gear
*sigh*..ty
:)
thanks rae, he really is trying his best to help me, he is allowing me to take his child away from him and he is trying so hard to enable me us to go and start again
good. just remember to vent when you need to, let that steam out!
he hasn't said a mean word to me and he's going out of his way to try and make things easier practically, even though it's so tough emotionally for both of us
hey
Hello Candy
I know all about emotional build up - I want you to be happy
hi candy
i really believe that I will be happy when I get my new start, another chance to get it right, I just can't stand this waiting for some poxy money
well...try to get your mind off it for a little while...
be the babble for 10 mins or so...
babble is really helping me stay sane, not so much the game but the wonderful people here
or here, I'll tell you some good news: after a year, I have finally recovered from my last lupus flare up! yay!
see, good things do happen, that's what I keep telling myself
yeah, sometimes good things happen :)
is it wrong that I like to do the letters with only one word because it makes them grey quicker?
no I do that too
good, because if it is, I don't want to be right
me too!
woot! une!

I can believe it. There are seven of us, I average 5-6 loads a day. Plus, I wash my grandmas laundry. If our washer broke...
She has a teen age daughter who changed her clothes several times a day

i have to log of as i have an empty batter
y
rae, what part needs stretching?
I just lie on a heating pad, or, clasp my hands behind my back and rasie my arms as high as I can. Duuno if you would call that good?
right where the arm meets the shoulder...I think I might have pulled the tricep

night herinfernallady and hello Haz and nonnie:)
hey haz
hi haz
Hello jean, raelite, kth
hi haz
haz I don't get your icon clue, can you elaborate?
lovely Spangle pic Haz! Oh! Its changed in full view! Bring back the spaniel!!
er6/30 - times before contemporary
You want the spaniel back?
bring back the spaniel! bring back the spaniel!
I'll even match you ...
Spange's back.....
Spangle, even.
ah got it ty haz
People are going to be SO confused with spaniel cluing er6/30.....
lol
Confusion is a familiar and friendly confine.
right im back i decided to continue for a while. Pardon my spelling im typing in near dark
As long as I don't persuade people that they are in need of entering a home for the bewildered
wb herin
Now I have Rosie the liver and white springer spaniel, a friend for Spangle!
Beautiful, Atalante!
yay..finished
why won't it accept rosie, am I being thick or can people have rosie cheeks?
Well done, rolin!
she belongs to a friend's parents, and is very much a working dog on the farm. and she's *gorgeous*
rosy is the normal spelling I think - it becomes rosier when made into comparative form
She is lovely, Atalante - looks as though she's ready to do her master's bidding.
congratulations, rolin
thanks kth i decided that though it its nearly 3am im over tired. Can some one please explain why my laptop headfone jack isn't working? No im not daft, its not on mute and the head fones work
Congrates rolin
ah ok, I think I'm loosing my marbles then lol
something like that ... probably wanting treats though - much more likely ;)
herin, can you see the little grey speaker icon on your desktray?
Congratulations, rolin!
up thats the thinging at the bottom?
its mutted at the mo but it refuses to work
wtg rolin
yes, your desktray is usually at the bottom of your computer screen, and has tiny icons lined up
yep got that
konichiwa!
you could test it by unmuting and playing a sound for a second on low volume. If you can hear the sound, then you know your headphones have a problem
hello pappa
but my headfones are currently working with my ipod this is the head scratcher
haz, are you giving out words are christmas presents today ? LOL
herin are you sure the headphone socket is in right, mine always seems to go in a little further when I give it a good shove
indeed it is .... I've gone as far as my limited (extremely limited) capabilities go ...
nope tried that there is one more thing that it may have got scrambled, peice of?
Hello TO - sorry if my icon is confusing today. It's Atalante's fault. She wanted the spaniel!
ata i went to your web site...can you tell me who aglaranna is..
aglaranna? she's an amzing jewellery creator
yes, blame me :) husband has kidnapped my spaniel so I'm in need of spaniels here :)
I'm about to change the clue for something suitable....
she truly is...does she operate commercially?
she definitely does commissions and requests for people, I thin she's just finishing college before going professional. something like that!
well thats got me stumped
Okay, spaniel suitably clue-worthy
didnt know she was Yorkshire born - good stock from oop north!
herin, I *think* if you double click the volume icon it opens a list of the different volumes you can set, check that they are all unmuted and turned up
Well no, she wasn't, but we don't tend to say no4/8 much here.... I was trying to give a clue with the Yorkshire thing.
kth its got me totally stumped. it was working before i had to update norton. Im working in the dark here as the boy is asleep. I think ill get him to look at it tommorrow.
Finally got my icon updated for today
good call herin
LOLOL
Kth i have nothing on mute im not that dumb (even my it nut friends have made that mistake)
HERIN, that's why I asked about the tray icon!! The same thing happened to me when we updated NORTON the other day --- my husband had to reinstall the drivers.
I didn't mean to imply that you were dumb, I've done it before myself where some of the volumes have been so low that I can't hear it
I have the ipod so its keeping me company, Oh bugger that might be the problem bloody norton
i rather dislike norton, it eats up too many resources
As a last ditch, you can always reset your system to an earlier date (before the Norton update) and go that way if need be.
oh kth i have done more dumb computer things than you would believe like arrrrr black screen of death this is all bad, then i realised i had a flat battery
My husband sometimes eats up too many resources.
lol herin
oop got to go -bbl
oh i might do that ch if the beast lets me
LOL haz -- so does mine
Bye TO!
haz thats a good call
lol haz
by temple
He has a better sense of smell for food than the dog.
ch more than likely the laptop is revolted against the pop cd i just got given
Oh, good one, herin!
Hey haz my parents dog thinks its a human and thus thinks it desevers human food. CH i was at a party earlier and the same cd screwed my friends computer 3times when he tried to copy it and its from the 90's
Never trust anything from the 90's. Have you seen the fashions?
oh seriously? It may be one of those they tried for awhile, that embeds an anti-copy device in the tracks
must away wish me luck lol am having the grandchildren over to stay tonight, have tried to hide presents but you know what inquisitive minds they have, happy babbling everybody
we got a copy of it oh ashampoo and dvd shrink we love you
good luck jean
Haz 80s fashion is back and i see it and i scream in fright
Have a good time jean!

hi harpjane!
Charm - politeness would say fine, honesty, not as good as I'd like to be. But better than I was, thanks.
Why feel silly? Mission accomplished!
my icon will be an easy one for you, harp :)
Hello harpjane - it's a very nice grid.
hello harp
Haz, what did you do to yourself? I missed that ...
ok, here I go!
She was swinging from chandeliers again Ata Afternoon all
Is it the holiday blues, Haz?
Haz - I'm still stuck on your previous icon clue?
Haz was fighting her hubby for some food and ....
Oh Atalante, settle back for the back story..... To cut a long story short, I've been having trouble for nearly three weeks now. But the combined efforts of physiotherapy and traction is bearing fruit.
oh Haz! You should know better! :)
thanks chj

FMitch is sounding much happier now that the god of love has swung by.....
Atalante you did you steal Haz's puppy? owees haz

Hi JMann!
backs are wonderful things that rebel at being ill-used
JMann - think of times before the present - I was using a history book to illustrate - poetic before combined with the present
gee i'm sorry i started ths grid
got it - thanks Haz
Hey, TO
why are you sorry?
nor cute puppy, poor haz my partner was whining about his back and legs tonight due to no cartledge in knees and a fused neck, so you have my condolences Haz
hi charm!
Glad you got there JMann
time is short - and so are my i and o words....
He sounds distinctly worse than me, herinfernal. He has my condolences!
well, I usually struggle with the vowels anyway....
TO - think of smoothing clothes and those who do it.

Phantom phantom: grobianism
Yep and the bad thing is he is only 30 his job is physically demanding, getting him a massage voucher from accross the road for him for chrissy, He is currently snoring his head off which is a good thing
LOL
WHAT? Babblerabble???!!!
I have never described my husband's snoring as a good thing. You must have levels of tolerance greater than my own.
Haz he is an insomniac so its a good thing and he has to get up soon. Im not game to move at teh moment
the only time my husband's snoring is a good thing is when he snores so loudly I had to get up and come and sulk downstairs. Then I get to eat chocolate in the middle of the night :)
Atalante and sneak onto babble?
i now have 5 ir words...
LOL Ata, do you really need an excuse?
Yes, but pot calling kettle black, when the dog snores, the husband throws cushions at her!
yup! whenever I'm here in the middle of the night, its because of that
nope, but then its guilt-free chocolate ;)

OR - 4/4 = minerals; OR 4/4 = OR + **nt and **ve
lol, herin - you're doing very well under those circumstances!
nice clue JMann
which one are you missing TO?
deefeeseel
yep sleep depravity kicking in and the boy is snoring again
TO, do you have the or 5/10?
sonia has got 24 words
OR 5/12 - OR + the actor Ed Ha***
orre
TO, do you rent or ow*? one who ow*s and pl.
sleep depravity is a good way of referring to snoring!
bbl
Sleep depravity is much more worrying than sleep deprivation
sorry
sorry, that was the OR 5/10
Bye ch1212
well im off i have one hundred so half of it is gone
sleep depravity? I feel deprived that I've never experienced that!
bye ch1212
bye herin
lol charm
I expect the depravity may be the direct result of the deprivation
I think you may be right, BabbleRabble. Freud probably would have something to say on the matter.
Hi all
Hi, Kate.
hi kth - welcome back
I have a little news, some good, some bad, to keep you up to date
Later Ch
Well, I'm going to make sure my son is not deprived of my company for too long. Happy babbling and see y'all tomorrow.
*waits for Kates news*
Oh Kate, not bad news. Let's hear the good first
bye Charm
Bye Charm :0
the good news is that he's finally tracked down the money guy and they are meeting to arrange things tonight
bye charm
very good news :)
excellent ... and the bad?
*sneeze* *blows nose*
the bad news is that the guy from school returned my passport forms unsigned
i feel silly asking for it but ea5/10 please
Oh no now what Kate?
oh my gosh, is it Christmas holiday now for the schools?
I'll have to find someone else to sign them
pab, it's a plural
EA 5/10 = the plural of EA 4/4
ea 5/10, plural ea 4/4
did he just forget? why didn't he sign them?
I have no idea
thanks bunny and jmann, didn't go that way
yw
so I'm down to my last four, and they are all F's!
outstanding JMann
do you have one that rhymes with a large soup dish, jmann?
Afternoon all.......
hummm, I don't think so
Hi Caitlyn
hiya caitlyn
I need to hit the shower and get ready for work I have a strong feeling that I'll be pulling a double tonight
Thanks Hurshy
greetings Babblers :)
Hi and Bye Cait :)

Bye Faerie
Hi Sherb
Hi and bye Faerie..have fun
Hello sherb!
2:45pm - 7am *shudders*
homonym of fright
bye faerie!
and scottish preposition
Hi sherb
Hello, I'm missing what I THINK is the last si5/10? Any ideas?
last i have is kings
I have si5/10, yes si***, the noisy one, and fathers
hi Mom, Haz, caitlyn :) ...this grid is a lot like the one the other day with lots of Es and Rs...
hmm
hurshy, by kings, do you mean fathers? I think there's one after that
SI 5/10 - "Yes, SI*** bob, or SI 5/10 = a loud SI*** or alarm
yeah that is what i meant - looking for more
si 5 = add the last hu***h
it's kind of another variant on the yes...
another spelling of the yes si***...
Ah, then SI + a double letter (the letter on the grid today the most), + a vowel
thanks
thanks hurshy, I got sidetracked.
ugh, i need 6 b's.
off to do some housework. bye for now
which 6?
dunno :) if i knew, i'd have 'em
Bye MOM
bye Mom
I need two...
did we get the missing f words?
BO 4/6 and 5/14 = another name for a wild pig, and then it's plural
do you have the thing that workmen used to huddle round to keep warm?
i dunno sherb... fire? lol
BO 5/14 = Monopoly is a type of BO*** game - then change the last letter
yeah i have the piggies
bo5/14 the second, replaces the plural letter with the next alphabetically
ah thanks jmann
8 bo's rest are br's
the fire goes in it...
BI 4/6 = feather BO*** (what you put around your neck)
let's see then i need br's for the other 5
br4 - scottish lane matching the structure of the scottish preposition
yup, i'm pretty good with the scottish ones for some reason
hi all... total for today?
BO 4/6 = a popular vacation spot = BO** BO**
the fire goes IN it... br... br...
then it's plural
The salty water appears in three words, also minus a vowel to start the sequence
It sounds like what most women wear ..under garments
whoops, sorry, I was trying to come up with clues for the B's and hadn't seen that you got them
The fire thing is usually spelt with a z, I think.
you roast chestnuts over it...
down to the W words
i have all the salty ones and that one before, and the undergarments, and a desperate housewife and a boy's name
I need the very last two wo's, 5/18 & 6/30 to finish, can't see them.
and 15 minutes to finish. :)
NM, I see them now.
ween
Have you the short br5?
soory
less good and get less good
You can do it pappa, the w's are pretty simple.
yup

battle of new orleans .. and ran thru the br***s and and we ran thru the brambles where the
TY Hursh, sorry. Guess I pulled a Peri?
bunny you get wo... every time i speak to you
The desperate housewife can have her vowel taken and replaced by a plural letters
I snug away from housework and found my last three words. Fireworks for me. A wonder the heavy outdoor rain isn't putting them out.
boy's name... *ponders*
ah, we all do it, bunny :)
congrats inge!
Congrats inge!!

Congrats pappa
Yay Pappa!
hello every1
Congrats, smooth_pappa!!
ty, ty!
Yeah, I think I'd rather end a grid that way instead of staring for a few long words.

I love astronomical pictures. :)
Handing over spiced cider for hurshy Vitamin v?? for tor Bottle of vodka (with a bendy straw) for bunny and a margarita for sherb There is mulled wine for everyone else..cheers

pig latin words work best for me
I often wish that horsegirl...
lol.it would make this game so much easier for me. oh well, i guess ill just keep plugging away at it
babble, I must say... I do enjoy reading your little essays in your profile.
I try them anyway, because they're often accepted...
me too but none of mine have been accepted
Hi everybody!
I'm still here sort of
hiya
Hello Flask!
Erda - Heathrow was never closed... they've just lengthened the gap between planes landing, which means they're not handling as much traffic... I think it's still bad today...
the moral is obvious, horse_girl, only try french words that the grid will accept
Hi Haz and Bob
hands tequila to pappa and a mojitos to Ata...would you all please raise your glasses to Dr God for this game..and Good Wishes for a lovely Christmas to all
hi kate
TY sherb -- was listening to Radio Four yesterday and must've got the wrong impression

there's a br8?? someone might've told me that...
hi Flask :) *drinks a toast to Dr G* ...he deserves it...
but the ones ive put in easy french words. thsi grid just hates me
cheers Hurshy!!
Hi Sherb
cheers to YOU flask!
br8/50 - resembles a cross between a badly spelt french undergarment for women and a coal furnace for workmen
oHO that is what you meant about the undergarment, i thought you just meant the 4!!
cheers! yay Dr_G!
and THAT is the workmen's warming chestnut roasting place!!
oHO
And it's a plural for br7
yes!
please be picturing a lightbulb over my head
LOL hurshy
lol hurshy
why don't workmen have br7's anymore?
lol
So light has been shed on the perplexing br8?
evening all - raises glass to all

Sorry, phone rang. I'm more than happy to share Tor:)
dangit! where did I put my shirt? I swear I just had it in my hands....

Evening Denny I bet you have drunk it all by now bunny
eureka! I have found it... now to find my shoes.... *scowls*

hi FMitch :)
Hi FMitch

later bunny!
because they don't look under or behind anything.
Bye bunny..catch you tomorrow
why do women have to generalize about men?
because it's easy
Why do men generalize about everything?
well said babble... and now everyone, I bid thee adieu! Have a great day!
women don't have a monopoly on generalising...
later pappa!
To stand up for one man (husband) - he knows where to find everything as long as I haven't moved it.
Bye pappa
Why do people answer questions with questions?
hello sherb!
LOL tor
lol tor
why is tor always hiding somewhere in the background
i dunno...who DO people answer questions with questions?

Hi TO

later Haz!

Bye Haz
it's not a stereotype so much as a heuristic
hi stid! got to go do payroll now ...bbl
later TO
i need help with the 3 ae words
psychological studies do, in fact, show that men tend not to look under or behind things, so, we're not just makin this up.
which ones?

how many re's are there please x
erier
i dunno babblerabble - my husband was the one who told me about them :)
11 re words
thanks for asking for that clue, horse -- two of the words you want are a spelling for an eagle's nest and a "more so" end to it
I don't have the third ae
ta cait x

LOL harp
okay, I'm off - good luck everyone!
Bye stid
Bye JMann
thanks caitlyn
Sherb.....I can't get the chocolate bar.....I know the word.....but can't make it!
Flask - did you see the airplane clue?
Flask, did you look behind and under?
Flask - it rhymes with the AR 5/18 - bow and AR*** or AE**
flask - think of alternative spelling of the metal tube that flies
flask - look forwards then back
babblerabble - you do realize that just because something TENDS to be true doesn't mean it is ALWAYS true - and you are welcome to make a generalization about women loving chocolate :) :)
lol......nope....its not happening...
What I realize is you are very condescending
well, i didn't mean to be
Flask just type in the name of the chocolate with the bubbles
ok you two, time yourselves out.
ae + **ar (sound lion makes)
I will do my best to stay our of your way...
flask - are you looking for the right chocolate? the lighter than air one?
bored
Oooops!.....got it already!
why would you do that babblerabble, i likes you
sorry everyone!
glad you got it though
BR - it's not compulsory to leave your sense of humour behind...
LOL flask - Thanks !!
Oh Flask LOL
ok, the CMV (Church Music Vortex) has spit me out and won't suck me back in for a few more days. I actually have time to go shopping and put up a tree. bbl
Bye harp
anyone need any clues before I go?
i thought you enjoyed arguing, so i was trying to oblige. my friend's dad always used to love me to argue with him, and i thought you were like that. sorry if i misunderstood.
ae6 please
More than ae5
flask - think of an old way of spelling the little flying people and extend it
oph and take of the f!
any1 help me on the os on todays puzzle
Is this a five minute argument or the full half hour?
you got the stopwatch going tor?
os5/6 - willow
LOL!
AE 5/10 = AE + food always served with chinese food (either plain white or fried) MINUS the C
Look, let's get this thing clear; I quite definitely told you.
Hic ..I am having fun on this Friday evening..Hic
told me what?
then AE 6/18 is AE 5/10 + a consonant (the letter that appears most in the grid today)
anyone need a top up?
LOL caitlyn, are you bartending again?
too early just had my coffee
afternoon babblers!
I told you once.
you told me once... that you... don't have a stopwatch?
Yes FMitch...as bunny said im the resident bartender...hix Hi evan
OS 4/4 = OS + F** and away
Handing out fresh glasses of mulled wine for all...hic
caitlyn have you got any mulled wine, could do with a medicinal kick.
an argument isn't just contradiction... it can be...
mmmmm lovely thanks - just the one tho' have to go out and get the duck for christmas!
JMann....thanks for the AE clues!
has anyone seen how expensive goose is this year?
If you want me to go on arguing, you'll have to pay for another five minutes.
OS 5/10 = OS + another word for "me" + another word for mistake MINUS the last letter
yw flask
perfect timing thanks caitlyn
LOL tor
hope they helped
i'm out of cash, so i guess i'll have to wait for another day
the OS 6/18 is a plural of the OS 5/10
certainly did;)
I just paid!
No you didn't.
How much is it Denyy as it has never been cheap and has really been promoted by all the TV chefs this year.
errs
Look, I don't want to argue about that...
but you paid sherb, you're stuck with it now
Yes you do.
thanks, flask!
eros
Aha, if I didn't pay... why are you arguing?
123bob - did those OS clues help?
Hi TeaN.....you're very welcome!
well last year i got a big goose (fed 6-8 of us with spare) for £20 (have a friend of a friend!) and this year the cheapest he could get was £25. When I looked on-line at the supermarkets the cheapest I could find was £45 for an average size!!!! In Asda today the cheapest was £31 and that was to feed 3-4!
I could be arguing in my spare time.
and the rest can be found at: http://www.mindspring.com/~mfpatton/sk etch.htm
sounds like your goose is cooked, denny
hard to imagine that only a few years ago goose was the main bird of choice at christmas!
LOL
that was in Dickens' days, Denny... :)
tor who are you arguing with?
holy crap that's one expensive dinner...you'd be better off going out!!
anyone who'll pay!
hence why we're having duck! My dad has provided pheasant and partridge I think as well
the most I've paid for a turkey is $70 (~30 GBP) and it was fresh and killed that day and weighed 30 lbs!!!
goose is delicious, though... I don't begrudge the money once in a while...
a pound a pound, eh rae
:) indeed...we're having beef this year though
30lbs!! ...how did you cook it?
okay, bye all, good luck with the grid...and this time I'm really off!
my mom somehow thinks ham is the meat to have at christmas. i don't get it.
am missing 1 x br4/6
That pricing isn't bad. Duck is good too.
very carefully! HA! no it took like 15 hours to cook
we're having beef this year...
Bye Jmann
Turkey and beef for me
I think I'll cook a ham.
I"m making a beef wellington
My family don't like turkey, and we always have a selection of meats. Goose was a new introduiction this year but just can't justify that much. Duck is a good compromise I think. found some tasty looking recipes on line
mmmmm beef wellington
I also love roast pork... that's for Boxing Day...
(We were recreating Monty Python's argument sketch, caitlyn)
duck+ goodness...I make wicked stuffed crown of pork
wait i forget what beef wellington is, i was mixing it up with roast beef and yorkshire pudding.
Oh it all sounds wonderful!!!!!!
beef wellington = beef loin wrapped in puff pastry with mushrooms and garlic
I didn't know porks had crowns ..
Oh silly me tor...I thought you were doing the dead parrot scene!LOL
I can't imagine how big a 30lbs turkey would be.... must be like stuffing a pig inyour oven!!!
oh that's good too then, 'cept for the mushroom bit
rae that beef wellington sounds devine!
it was quite an adventure...it was a few years ago...we have a really big restaurant oven
booyah!
the trick with the welly is make sure the puff doesn't get soggy
Just made some game pate this afternoon for hubby and family. MakingYule log tomorrow!! Yum yum
so you cook it slow at first then crank the heat to blast it and cook the pastry at the end
how do you make your buche de noel (yule log)?
yoohoo, babblerabble, come out and play. i can stop arguing, honest.
Denny.Tescos made all my pate for me..they are such good cooks!!
cocoa powder, flour, caster sugar, egg whites, egg yolks, bake about 15-20 mins then chocolate icing
that's like the recipe I saw the other day...always wanted to make one
don't have a tescos near us and i just love to cook for my man ;-D
has anyone seen Karys recently? ...it's her wedding day tomorrow...
do you roll it up when it's still warm or do you wait for it to cool completely?
No sherb I havnt seen her
you roll it when it is warm otherwise it cracks. if you put a sheet of greasproof paper in the midfdle it won't stick together
ahhh
i saw her not TOO long ago - can't remember which day
well off now cos babes to bath etc so see you all later.
Bye Denny
sherb it's Christmas Day she is getting married so I guess they could have already cruised off? Bye Denny

Bye caitlyn

shhhhhhhhhhh*listens intently for mice* i don't think our so i think they just peer out at us. one is named elvis
does he wiggle his hips?
he comes out when we are all here
The difference between grading papers and finding words on the grid is that when you find a word the number of words left to find goes down but when you grade a paper another one (or two) show up so you actually have more to grade than you did when you started (but I get to find 10 words for each paper I grade so eventually I will get the grid done if not the grading).
lol
and we also have an owl!
dr i wish i had your word *sigh*
he wiggles his nose!
work?
need help with ar words, don't have any :(
I don't think Elvis would have been nearly so successful if he had wiggled only his nose.
HI everyone
are there two gr8's?
noTO
think tr4, and cupid
if there are i dont have either

I am drinking tea and chatting with my buddies.

Yes, like you, mousey.
Yay for chocolate!
mousey IS a pretty good panacea
My GI tract is not ready for chocolate yet.
I thought mousey claimed NOT to be a chocolate mouse.

hi matt
Hi Stidmatt
Hello, stidmatt.
No, not yet! Hi mousey! Welcome to Babble!
Oh, Mom, I hate that medicine. How about just Tylenol for my aches?
only have ar5/10 clues please for other ar words
or a slug of canadian mist?
How about some Tylenol cold and flu tablets. The rest of the family swears by them
stidmatt, if you can discourse eloquently on wrestling, mousey will appreciate it :)
stidgrant and riemann are finally playing Chess, I played him twice today, lost twice.
ar6 - ar + s4
ar5/14 - a latticework bower, and pl
Ok, I won't wrestle! (Even though I haven't wrestled for months!
I shot an ar5/18 in the air, It fell to earth I know not where...
Peri what cupid shoots singular
Mom--I have the GI virus, the one that causes instant weight loss.
you have met me before stidmatt
no no, i'm saying you should TALK about wrestling.
thanks got the ar5/18 still looking for the others
I am so sorry. Wish I could help.
Where did you meet me mousey?
I'll take it for you Scrabbler, so you will feel better
Vicuna, don't know the word you clued will have to google

Scrabbler, maybe you would like to call my Grandfather! He would love to talk to you.
Thanks, Mom.
:)
Rest well.
Oh, silly me!
You grow roses on it, in the shape of an arch, peri.
stid matt--I sent him and your grandmother a Christmas card, and he has my #
you never noticed me i remember that bio
(At least, some people do. I don't know about you personally!)

mousey, I will wish you a Merry Christmas right here and right now....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
scrabbler and stidmatt are related, mousey

We are first cousins once removed.
oh ok just wanted to make sure you didn't feel slighted
just 3 sn's?
Anybody have the sa's? All I have are the sa4's and my monkey is struggling with the others.
no!
I have 4 sn's, hursh
bye all
alt sp of the indian dress sc
There's an sa5/10 that's alt spelling of sa4/4, and pl.
and a holy person
yeah i was being fishy scrabbler
sa5/10 that adds a letter on the end of sa4/4
need both ar6/18 pleae
that's some sort of chemical or something, isn't it vi?
Yes.
hello all today. hope everyone is going to have happy holidays. my granchildren are coming and we are spending the week at our log cabin and santa is coming. i have never gotten to see them open presents on christmas day, they are 4 and 6. am so looking forward to christmas
Used in nerve gas.
Great! Just got 3 more sa's. TY
I need all the ar's!
ahh... knew it sounded familiar
Sounds fun, magzel.
Hi magzel!
hi stid and vicuna
Yes, Magzel, that sounds loverly!
ph--what I have: ar5 = ar + The Sun also ***es
Mmmmm . . .nerve gas . .
My kids are 4 and this is the first year they really "get" Christmas.
ROFL
Then ar6==what William Tell used to shoot the apple
Sounds like you've had a bit too much of that already, torgone.
vote for what you think i miss a 7 letter word from: F, G, I, N, or S
ar6 x2 = ar +si4, then change last vowel for the second
There are 2 f7's.
I vote for the F
3 g7's
1 i7
well according to vi, your vote is wrong scrabbler :(
i think f 4 to 6 is the greatest age for christmas, there is such awe in their eyes, after that you rarely see it again
it's the g
no n7's
2 fe7's
got it!
ae 5/10 and 6/18 please
Ages 2 1/2 -7 yrs are my favorite--innocent, candid, magical, prfound, enthusiatic. Mag and Vicuna--you will have a blast!
But my daughter thinks the wrapping is so much fun that she's wrapping everything she can get her hands on, and bundling up paper and bows with nothing inside. Cute, but really annoying!
two fours and four sixes to go... hmm... sherb is taking a really long break
ae5 eagle's nest
hurshy: what is the name of the test you have to take before becomming a captain in star trrek?
Mag--think eagle nest
well you have to take a lot of tests - but are you thinking of the kobayashi maru?
ok all - i am finishing up and leaving - shopping to do! for happy holidays to all!
I don't know...but that sounds right...
Bye, TO.
Merry Christmas, TO!
we're playing a quiz game at work and that's going to be my question
Ha, ha. Kobayashi Maru. I get it Hurshy, even if no one else does.
kirk was SO FUNNY when he took it. he altered the program so that the klingon captain said "THE captain kirk?!?!" and offered him dinner, ROFL
lol that is funny :)
Mmmm . .kobayashi shrimp . .
mmm shrimp
aerie
lol tor
oops so sorry
You got it, mag--now pl
Not the same, Torgone. Definitely more delicious than maru, though.
Anyone have the in's?
and scotty used a tactic that works in simulators but not real life (he was in command school before engineering bc of family pressure)
clue for the on7 please
oh really?
i have no in's
more mean, peri
Okay, Hursh, now you're just ranting.
thsnkd for the ae clues
in5, a gas that isn't volatile
on7 - comes up int he grid surprisingly often, misspelling of more disagreeable
in5, draw a conclusion
on7=first # + consonant + comparative ending
does the AR 4/6 use the g or the B?
in5red
i'm not ranting, i'm revelling
when someone asks me a star trek question i have to make the most of the opportunity :)
TY hurshy
Indeed. Fascinating.
thanks Scrabbler, can never figure out how to spell that word
hello again - 2nd fe5/16 please anyone
I don't like that word, peri, and I don't even know how to say it right.
hurshy, you know they're currently making the next movie, right?
:|
yeah - something to do with when they're at the academy... i'm skeptical about whether it's a good idea, but we'll see...
they are writing it, it's time to get your 2 cents in
Homonym of to swoon and fall down
well my 2 cents would be come up with a whole nother idea...
ty scrabbler got it
wanna make star trek better, put daleks in it! LOL
I kinda like Matt Damon as Kirk though...he's a hottie
63 left, bbl
Hmm. Who might play Ensign Kirk?
does the AR 4 use the B or G?
matt damon as kirk... groan...
Totally BDG!
100 to go
That would be funny, Book Doc!
that's... that's... i don't even know what that is, but i don't think i like it.
Justin Timberlake ..
apparently Ben Affleck is going to be Spock!!!!
. . . or giant bat people
ph, I don't have the ar4 yet
you have GOT to be kidding me rae.
I wonder what Captain Archer would think about it!
LOL torgone!!!
EXTERMINATE! BZOOO!!!
nope...www.rottentomatoes.com
I could see Ewean McGregor as Scottie
ar4 with a B in it works for me
raelite, good casting!
beyonce as Uhura
Double groan. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are soooo not Trek material.
no. there shouldn't be anybody famous.
finally figured it out thnx
the Great Bird of the Galaxy is probably spinning in his grave...
TY Gwen--I was going in the wrong direction!
How about Beyonce as the glamorous navigator that gets in a tangle with Kirk......
Gabba gabba hey . .half way ..
Oh, they have to throw somebody famous in there. How about Drew Barrymore as Yeoman Rand?
any clues for the 1st 2 ar's?
yeah
And Brittany Spears could be an alien that gets tossed out into space for eternity
I think Kirk should be a girl
yeoman rand would've been a kid when kirk was at the academy - she lied about her age to enlist
scrabbler, i second the motion! LOL
Kirk should be played by Diane Lane
but if ban afleck plays spock there will be multiple suicides
David Duchovny as Capt. Pike ..
yeah , Kirk as a gorl, and then the story could get round to the fact that he had a sex-change opperation in his twenties. Thats why he was so preoccupied with sleeping with aliens.....
*hurshy is too depressed to find her last 6 words*
lol
6!!!!o my goodness. i still got 106 left
with all that technology you haveno idea... Kirk could be hermaphroditic (sp?)
Huh? All right. This Kirk thing has taken an ugly turn. Y'all stop dissin my favorite Captain, now.
er 6/30 please
it's not a diss, he'd be even cooler if he was both genders
Sean Connery as Scotty?
of course he's a hermaphodite, that's obvious LOL
*weeping openly*
er6/30 - before the present time, in poetic-speak
Sean Connery is such a good actor!
ooh, nice clue vicuna, TY
*passes tissues to Hurshy. Sets phaser for "kill"*
**offers hurshy tissues so that her make-up does not get ruined**
he is but he's getting a little long in the tooth
make-up, now that gives me comic relief! :)
sssssssssshhhhhe cannot take any mooore, Capation. Ssssssshhhe's breaking up.
thanks you vicuna
Chin up, hursh, your goal is fireworks.
oh, i have a goal?
it would be cool to see them all as kids solving galactic mysteries...
Capation? Is that what happens before DEcapitation?
but they should avoid time travel stories. they do so many and so few and really good
Phoo, raelite. They'd all be ensigns - doing pushups and fetching coffee for the officers.
it's true
= are really good, i meant
Yes, hursh, to see sparkles. We count on at least you to finish and give us clues.
no I mean kids...like 10 years old...how old do they have to be to be ensigns?
lots o' people are done, you don't need me
Some of us do . .
who here has already finished?
If they are in in the academy, they will be ensigns, or yeomen. Whichever comes first and is more lowly.
all the ST regulars can't be 10 at the same time -- unless it's a frickin' time travel story LOL
they're not the bobbseys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh...well..that's just details
judi, the word is midshipman
Yeah, we're talking science fiction here. Anything is possible.
Thank you, Book Dr. Gwen. You are most correct.
so the story is - Kirk battles with his sexuality, Scotty gets a row from the teachers for doodling on the classroom walls, Bones gets expelled for truancy, and Spock gets bullied for being an alien.
and we're talking star trek, in which the producers apparently ran out of ideas about 6 years ago
that's awesome dachef
sudoku break time
See ya hursh
no, spock is the one who's doodling!
and the twist is, Picard gets sent back thru time by Q in order to train the new recruits on how to save the galaxy as a final test on the intregrity of mankind!
well, time for a break for me too. BBL
No! No! Not another character cross-over. It's too much to bear!!!!
See ya hurshy!
qand Data has to teach Spock about logic.
wow I really hope no one from star trek is reading this
got 150 words, see ya later

no snow here in florida
I'm still stidmatt, stidmama isn't playing under my name. Choco-latte is goooooooood.
Instead it is 80 degrees or so in Winter!
Well, we will have a white Christmas for once! And I am totally kidding things really could be wo 5/18
Instead of 100 degrees!
we are quite blessed really - we're all safe and sound at home. Well except hubby who had to work today.
Sorry to hear about the foot surgery, Cad. I do hope you get chocolate soon :o)
SMatt which one of the stids are you?
What do you mean?
Thanks - te foot surgery will be a good thing (long term) just a hassle now! Mo - I heard about the fog problems in London - are you near there?

hello all! and hi again torgone!
Heya stid1
lady -- stidmatt is one of my children. all the "stids" that we know of at babble are related to me. :-)
hey stidmama, I am back again too
hi again peri -- I just sat down. Made three cards this afternoon. Feeling very productive and happy.
herin...no just a little mist...but i feel sorry for the people down south hoping to fly away for Christmas and are stuck in the airport lounges.
hello stidmama and periwinkle
2nd and 3rd ne6/18 please
hello nonnie! so glad to see you here!
hi nonnie
I am at exactly halfway... should I head for the list now?

No gots ..

I am back. 79 to go--where are they hiding?
how about clues for si 6/18 amd 7 /28
hi Scrabbler! Just sent Tom, his friend and the boys to take the big dog for a walk... Enjoying the peace and quiet...
please
(((stid))))--all ready for Christmas?
si 6/18 is a plural
I have the si 6/18 which is plural of the 5/10, is that the one you need?
opposite of yes, maam
hey stid.
yes please, also don't have the 5
2nd ne5/10
oh yes, of course Scrabbler! you?
i have that one cpemaggie
no6/18 then?
I'm ready as far as gifts go. But got slammed with a virus last evening and today was spent in bed and on-line. Occupational hazard. I'll be OK by tomorrow.
oh no Scrabbler! I always worry about my friend who's a GP -- working with all those sick kids this time of year, but I guess you also get inoculated a bit. She doesn't get sick nearly as often as I do!
Well, I have to put this aside for a bit and get some Christmas stuff done. You all take care and see you soon.
later Nonnie! see you next time!
Bye nonnie
I am a new user... Can anyone enlighten me to how the tile and word stats work? No help in help.
i new to this this afternoon too, so finding it all rather strange.... lol
hi Funky -- the tile stats tell you how many times each letter is used to start a word. if it reads 0/16 then you have found zero of the 16 words from that tile
Scroll down--go to Angel's web site and lickety's
zysc you here or has rug rat taken control
Strange but readily addicting if you like words
the word stats tell you how many words have so many letters. Today there are 89 four-letter words and I have found 46 of them so far so my word tile for "4" reads 46/89
need 2nd ne5/10 and 3rd ne6/18 to finish the N's please
Angelsong's website has tons of great hints and links to helpful sites; Lickety's list puts the words you have already found in the right order for you so you see which ones you are missing.
Thanks Scrabbler & stidmama - appreciate it!
we are all lexophiles!
hello gbm, and welcome both of you!
thankyou
should be getting on tho, not playing games!!
Stid, Peri, Scrabbler, hello! Hello, all!
hey stid and scrabble and everyone
though I am rapidly becoming a lexiphobe, I fear... LOL a fear-a-phobe?
Well, you must make time for everything.
Hi Ankh!
Infernal, I didn't see you there. :)
HI Ank!
Ank your icon is tooo cute
lurking
{{{{{{{{ANKH}}}}}}}}} and where EXACTLY have you been, young lady? you've been MIA for ever so long!
thats a fib im ljing
GREAT cion, Ankh--looks like my hamster, Oliver
Ah, Scrabbler, you'll have to get Oliver to pose for me sometime! (((Stiddy))) I had eye surgery and had to drop out of sight, literally, LOL!
TY, Infernal. :)
Oooo, are you OK, Ankh?
oh ankh! I am so sorry. I "see" you're better enough to babble. will you be okay?
what kind of surgery, Ank, if you don't mind my asking, are you okay now
boas
Not quite healed yet; removed the natural lens from my left eye, replaced it with a fake, but the cornea is slow to heal and so vision blurry there. But should shape up eventually. :)
Testing, 1-2-3, can you see that, Ankh? ***SORRY**
or6/18 please
hope you heal quickly Anks
thanks scrable. Oh ank i hope you can see better now
Scrabbler, you are the best cousin a girl could ask for!
LOL!!! Actually, I *can't* see well enough to Babble, just popped on to say hi, and show off the icon a bit, or it won't get used at all this year!
now, how's about that AR 4/6... LOL
Ankh -- we'll walk you through it. first word, AE, an eagle's nest...
oh poo ank thats bad
LOL!!!! No, no, seriously! I shouldn't. I need to write some cards... waiting for Dear One to come home and crack the whip. :)
Ank just guess the words it works for me
Anky -- can you read emails okay?
Ank is that a rat or a hamster?
And Stid, that one must be in every grid... first one I saw was the sloppy one in the corner but I didn't want to haul out my sloppy hamster for an icon. Yes, Stiddy, I'm doin emal kind of slowly. A hamster, Infernal -- Dear One uses a rat, though.
*Ankh my fingers are not lined up right on this keyboard...
okay, will send you an email. {{{HUGS and KISSES}}} {{{and chocolate...}}}
Oh ok we don't have hamsters in aus thats why i wasn't sure
Oh, Infernal, you don't want them. THey would be as bad for you as the rabbits.
i ahve had about 4 hours sleep so im a little fuzzy
seriously though, I really can't seem to monkey the AR 4/6...
*will be happy to get Stid's email*
ar + don't give me any ** for an answer

Speaking of politicians, there's an amphibious one in the lower right corner... Gingrich, the old grinch...
lol, i typed a word in randomly, it went on list, so looked it up..... even the dictionary doesnt have it in!!
Infernal, what is a male cow called? and what comes out of his back end? A R _ _ is the word.

rach--they are hard because they are word we don't use or see everyday except here

Fiction, and I don't read much fiction. About a doctor in 1964 who delivers his unexpected twins while in a snowstorm, and the 2nd baby has Down syndrome so he gives it away to the nurse while his wife is out from ether, then he tells her the baby died.....very well-written!
wow, sounds good.
I'll check the library and see if they have it.
You're way ahead of me mama!
Mo, I have only 9/22 F's
got the fr5 and 6 now thank you.
Mom, author = Kim Edwards

ar6/18 is either ar + s4 that's a math function, or the same thing but with a different last vowel
what's the er6/30 please?
thanks firefly, er6 is sort of a compound word, sounds like shakespeare, uses the here and ***

I have that - - its the 5/16 and 6/27 immediately before the priest
sorry
fireworks....that was hard....smaller puzzle next time :)
hi Kahlua -- long time no see!
and YAY Kahlua!!!
OK time to look for missing ne's - the three just prior to the little animal
Hi all - just got a new computer and I'm breaking it in but there are some changes in my screen compared to how it was with my old 'puter and it's bugging me. The tile stats are not changing colors when all the words have been used, the message under "add word" does not turn red or green (if you've made a successful word) and there are other little things that aren't quite the same. Does anyone know how to restore the default? Thanks!!
sorry I can't help much with clues because I only have 116 words -- but I do have all the 8s
one is an inert gas (4/4)
babbz -- all I can suggest is that you get in touch with Dr_G
Kahlua???? Did I just miss you?
forgive me but who is dr_g?
Dr_God is the person who devised this game and keeps watch over it
are we having fun yet?
jillibus - do you know how to get ahold of dr_god?
it is probably just bugs in the new computer.
hi again all! hi babbz!
babbz -- if you scroll down to the T-shirt and click on it, you will eventually get to a place to contact Dr_G
YAY Kahlua! (if you're still here)
Hi rennie, hi stid
actually, there should be a link at the very bottom of this page...
Kahlua finished and disappeared immediately, it seems -- no repsonse to my inquiries or congrats
hey ya jilli and stid
hey there stidmama!
stid -- I looked for that link but coulsn't find it
and babbz w/ the new puter
i'm somewhat out of it tonight - had a root canal yesterday and the guy killed me so I'm taking a vicodin and dozing off on the new computer!
hey renfield
hey ren! CHappy CHannukah! (that's what lambchop said in a video the boys used to watch when they were little)
very very bottom of the page, Jill -- there is a comment thingy that pops up.
maybe you should be called babbzzzzzzzzzzzz?
LOL Jill!
right, stid -- in the middle of the bottom of the page, duh to me
We are going to take a group photo of Tom, the boys, riemann and me in a few minutes...
lol that's about the size of it tonight. i'm just so grateful that he was able to save my tooth....thought i might have to have it yanked and that would not have been good, but man, root canals HURT!
oh great, stidfam!
then I'll change my icon!
I think I'll change my icon now -- bbs
oh babbz, I am so sorry! I had a root canal a few years back then the tooth cracked before I could get the crown on. Talk about disappointing!
so my advice is to eat mush: pudding, applesauce and booze until you get the final work done!
I don't dare say I've never had a root canal...
CU soon...
that's precisely what i was worried about, not to mention that you could pay $1075 for a root canal and then end up needing the tooth extracted and an implant, to the tune of $3500-$4000 at Christmas time, no less.
soon, Jill!
yep, I am halfway through an implant, waited for funding -- will get it finished in the new year.
okay, time for pics! back quick!
We're all in the wrong business. This endodontist does nothing but root canals all day long, but he must earn a zillion dollars a day. He's like a factory, and charges over $1,000 each. Has about 5 rooms with someone in each chair. Not a bad gig. Smile Stid and say cheese.
And here is tomorrow's theme -- big hats for Karys's wedding day
Beautiful Jilli
Does anyone have the on 7/28?
Yours too, flosey! Who is more elegant than Audrey Hepburn?
indeed
not me, anike -- sorry!
it was in a puzzle recently, sounds like a person who might be cantankerous
thanks, flosey -- did you finish?
anike -- more rancorous
yes, amazingly!! was getting ready for the kids coming on the late ferry tonight
I'm back and I bet no one even knew I was gone. Can I have the br 7 and 8. I assume they are a combo.
hi shannon!
something you probably wear shannon and yes, plural
oo, I have those! Not really a garment -- a charcoal grill
TY.
Love your pup there shannon, looks like my Misha did almost 12 years ago
yes jilli, my error
should have said sounds like
testing to see if my big hat popped up. i must be hungry
actually sounds like "more indolent" I think
better run and get dressed be right back
it did, babbz -- lol!
yep babbz -- just had to refresh to see your hat...
get dressed, flosey? at this hour shouldn't it be get undressed?
I have 2 goldies. They are great dogs, but boy do they shed.
it didn't pop up on the screen tho! What's the occasion for your picture, Stid?
boo!
hey all...I have a half hour left and 10 words...anyone giving clues?
whattcha need joy?
okay, icon changed -- check it out!
go joy go! what do you need?
LOL Jill -- flosey's kids are taking the ferry across from the un-pronounceable TSSSSSWASSSN on the mainland...
that ON word; and the AR 6/18s, for starters
hi pappa!
the on: number + french for smile, I think.... it's a superlative for "rancorous"
joy: ar + maths function (and one with a different last letter)
the AR 6/18s: the first is a projectile shot from a bow
ar6/18: AR + a math term used with tangent.
the second ar 6/18 is ar + a type of waveform; then change last vowel on that to another for the last
**** CO**** and tangent
the second uses a circular vowel for the ending
I'm really bad at math
thanks papa
oh Karys's BIG DAY is tomorrow? hm. better find a pretty hat for the shindig...
lol me too
great pic, stid!
and hi smooooth
and joy
hi jili :)
nice photo stid! That's a good looking bunch!
thanks babbz!
and Jill -- wish you were here to get in the picture too...
build on a 4/4 which is built on the wrongdoings you may go to a 5/16 about
zysx -- those are great clues!
stid: thank you, I still have 71 to go...
aw, thanks, stid!
I still can't get the ON word argh argh argh
all right guys... unfortunately I can't make i t for flip tonight... I've got to be to work at 8:00 tomorroe... later
ar 5/10 anyone?
ar 5/10 is like the OR 5/10
joy -- the on word -- start with the number before two, add the last 4 letters of fr5/16
go zysx, go! what do you need?
ar 5/10 - a day in May
thanks jill! I feel much better now
wow pappa -- so early? see you tomorrow evening!
TY Stid
back - no jilli, the kids are coming on the late long harbour ferry - be here sometime after midnight
:)
ar5/10 syn of piend
so flosey -- all decked out like an elf with bells on? ;-)
I see, flosey!
spent the day preparing but managed to complete the puzzle by jumping in and out between chores
NE 6/18 and the OS5 and OS6 pleeeeez I must finish I must see fireworks
i think i've become tommy
good for you, flo -- I'm not even trying to finish
hi again everybods -- hows things?
lol stid - for sure - I get as excited as a child when it comes to seeing my kids
NE 6: a worm creature... ne + you a** + he **...
stid: no idea what I need. still learning the slang
hi rennie -- in and out of visibility, yes
OS 5 is a willow-like shrub; take the first R off RO 6/18
ne6/18, take the first ne and add a suffix meaning more
then plural for the OS 6
hi Gwen
wow -- you're doing great then, zysx!
hey jillibus
hi Gwen
first puzzle. like it lots
hey stid
I'm really dense tonight, it could be the beer I just drank, but I really didn't get those math clues earlier. Can someone dumb them down for me.
*claps hands gleefully* we have another convert, gang! LOL
need 8 more woids -- gotsa find 'em or i will be annoyed at myself all night
something you go to hell for with an E at the end (4/4)
well done, zysx -- do you know about Lickety's list?
I'm also missing one 8 word
then add a behind to the 4/4
Shannon, ar + "bad thing" (seven deadly s**) + silent vowel
then the other is the same with a different vowel on the end
Who's list? (Guess that answers the question)
I think all the 8s were plurals, shannon...
Hi Honeys I'm home (*^_^*)
sorry, got the NE 6/18 that's the superlative, looking for the middle one of the 3 NE 6/18's
Lickety's "list" has a link at the bottom of this page -- he set up a program that is really helpful to denser babblers like me...
{{{FAERIE}}}
yayayaya faerie!
sysx -- scroll down to Friends of Babble , lower left, and click on Lickety's Babble Clues --
(((((Stid))))) How ya doing?
hi faerie!
Hiya Rennnnnnieeeee!!!!!!
Hi Jill :)
So that I can get on with Xmas preparations I must finish this grid - I need ne5/10 follwed by ne 6/18 an fr 5/16 an 6/27 (B4 the monk)
I am well Faerie -- enjoying our visit from babbler "riemann" -- he's in my icon today!
Tres!
go gwen go!
ahhh... that list. would have been nice 230 or so words ago :)
4 words left! 18 minutes left!
anike, there is an english clergyman, but also the french version, as in fr*** Jacque?
Riemann is visiting with you at your house? That's fantastic :)
ne5 is weird one: N plus poetic word for "before" plus it depends on what the definition of ** **
and before that is the fr*** that is not enslaved
I'm missing the second te 7 and 8 combo, please
I'm missing the NE 6/18 that doesn't mean closer, or a colorless liquid
go joy!!
I just refreshed what a beautiful pic Stid :)
zysx -- there's always next time for Lickety! He usually posts his list shortly after the flip
Yes, we've known him for 20 years. The boys adore him, and he puts up with me. He and my Tom were roommates in college
tr conbo is the person who receives instruction, and plural
ne + proud mary keeps on ***ling then plural
Ah, that's the connection with riemann!
hi everyone
yep. OLD friends, LOL
Well I do seem to learn something new everyday here.
dub!
I mean, duh!
Duh!

ne 6/18 rhymes with here is but starts with n
thanx, stid
joy, ne + pete and **peat were sitting on a fence + I am, you are, she **
(finishes grid even though it ate part of my word list!)
