can you take tylenol or some such thing?
hi stid
duh. got all the boxes covered now
alright, now I have something in all the boxes.
its contagious
stid, what happened to your face? (haha, that sounds so bad...)
oh it sounds so silly -- I was taking a cake out of the oven, the kind that has to cool upside down so it doesn't sag --- and in trying to turn it there was a loud noise and it managed to hit my face. I have a burn on my chin and lips. :-(
ouch!!! so sorry, stid!
I did Jill -- ibuprofen. Probably time to take more though, thanks for the reminder!
oh stid, nasty
ouch!
Ouch! That's not silly at all.
wasn't "cakeburn" in the grid a few days back? (humor attempt instead of ice...)
I won't even ask about the cake. Hope you feel better fast.
The cake was fine... LOL and tasted delicious.
was it charcolate?

thanks lickety!
hi BJ!!! {{{hugs}}} are you stuck in the snow?
right stid
thanks Lickety!
Wonderful, wonderful lickety!
thanks lickety
Hey Lickety! Can I talk with you offline for a moment?
it's remarkable how many of these words were also in the last puzzel.
Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Lickety
hillary, I was just thinking the same thing! it's like some sort of synchronicity or something (struggling for the right concept-word). We'll see the same word or set of words for a couple weeks sometimes!
i think the software that creates the grid just cycles thru combinations in a certain order
he7 - a seven chemical word
ne8
hi everyone!
surely they're random?
hi volley!
and plural for my 8 ornith
thanks ornith and stid
ooh, thanks, that gives me 3 eights :)
thanks ornith
I don't think so -- just remember there are a limited number of letters -- 26 -- in varying quantities -- and a limited grid of 25 places. Letter combinations will randomly reoccur frequently.
thanks broll! I found it! (two 8s)
does the he 7 have something to do with blood?
yw
no nan, "seven" in greek + "chemical" ending
thx lickety

thanks! LOL

Hi sprite, fran

hi sprite
qu: rhymes with choir

qu 5/16: sounds like the group that sings the anthem in church
now today we have Pepsi(tm)
macca, sheets of paper bound together. re+qu5 = need
still think quisp should be okay lol
i THINK I NEED THE LAST QU 5/16
thanks une... was screwing up because the tidy word uses another vowel
macca, take the S off what a lemon does when you squeeze it.
did someone call an es 7?
macca, a small whip
I'm with ya, Volley
(i know . . . did that same thing)
mac: a sort of short whip used on horses by jockeys I think

yah, 151 and considering the list myself
saint, almost cruciform...
I've only got 85.

I think I'll be back sometime tomorrow. {{{Jill}}} see you then!

night stid!
nite stid
hey (i'm new) what is licketys list?
night stid
jenn, if you look below the grid where it says "friends of babble" there is a link
There were some rather high ******* at that Buffalo-Ottawa fight recently...
*hockey game
it gives the first two letters, the number of letters, and the point value of all the words in the puzzle
thanks so much ornith! i am just blind apprantly.
do you know how the points work, jenn?
kinda...
finally got the final 8
points = sum of points on the tiles for 4 letter words. for 5 letter words it's sum x2. for 6 letter words, sum x3. etc for longer ones.
qu counts as two letters even though it's on one tile, btw
The 'Help' button at the right top of this page is helpful too
ah, gotcha. that makes sense.
but there is no fun in the help button sprite! :P
for some there is
es- 7/40 please
Meaningless protest over the absence of spewn from the dictionary. "As the lava spewn from the volcano began to engulf the village, the terrified peasants ran screaming in terror."

we were at a fantasy and gothic convention yesterday and she so much wanted a spectacular dress that I gave in - she looks a princess from the middle ages!
how old is she sprite?
how old is she?
night freep
she is 9 now
I just got over a third of the way (slightly further thanks to sprite), so I'm coming back laterfor another assault on the grid...sprite, put up a picture of her in the spectacular dress!
sounds lovely, sprite!
wow, my daughter will be there before i know it, she's going to be 2 in May
Great age. I'm enjoying two 9-year-old granddaughters.
hey, great idea, Douglas, will do!
later doug!

have a great day, Douglas
May 21st jilli
Bye Doug

close to mine but no cigar, fran -- I'm the 17th
same zodiac sign though

that's true, she's more gemini like her dad i think
did everyone see the news about the colossal s5 that was caught? they're even bigger than giant s5
no, did not see it. Was it scary?
not if you like fried calamari! :-)
i think it was 29 feet long and weighed over 900 pounds.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/29 10849.stm
evening all!
hi mrp! good to see you
hi MrP
that's a big beastie!
hiya mrp!
my son did a report on the giant sq5.... it was only 2 months ago that they were first filmed... amazing!
hi mrp -- nice to see you
eeeeeek, it is not even grown yet!
mrP! *big hug*
wow, i hadn't seen a full size picture, that's amazing!
my phantom: diaspora
fully grown it would be 4 me5 in length... shudder
the amazing thing about this 'beast' is that there are over 200,000 of them in the ocean! up to 20 meters in length
mrp, this one is a colossal s5, even bigger and heavier than the giant variety.
In a way I love that. Nature rules!
you're right sprite, we'll never know everything that lurks out there.
but remind me NOT to go swimming in the ocean over there ;)
*enormous hugs* sprite!
you don't have to worry about swimming with the sq5... they hunt from 200-1000 metres down
how are you doing, mrP? Bathroom refurnishings on their way?
at this rate, the next ones they find will be a kraken and cthulhu!
let them hide deep in the ocean, where mankind cannot go - and cannot harass them!
just look up the colossal squid -- thanks for the link, sprite. Ugh!
pimp-my-john is on the agenda! I wanted to include a coffee station for the morning... might help me wake up!
jilli said a word!!
howdy folks
sounds good mrp
so did you mrp!!!
looked up, I mean. I'm sleepy

see you tomorrow night, flosey?
mrp, I am at 179 words and all the 8s done having started at the flip
by flosey
seems really nice so far mrp
it is not really evil, mrP. A few unwords, but with this size you are bound to have a few. Not too many though, and lots of nice words!
several of our pet babblets
excellent! fun time then
always bugs be that 'renate' isn't accepted
see, ornith is a whiz -- I have 76 words but have been watching the Oscar followups, the news, and chatting - at least that's my excuse
er, bugs me
thanks takuma, that gave me an E
oops! didn't mean to sneakily say a word
77 now, takuma -- thanks
insert short for mother, Fran, and you will have more Es, biggies!
jilli, watching other stuff is a good excuse!
and I'm no wiz, the folks who had 150 the first half hour are the wizzes
nice clue sprite ;)
bless you tak i got two words from that 'clue'
(it was a genuine complaint, btw - sorry for the giveaways)
thanks sprite!
but ornith, you got all the 8s in a trice
don't worry, tak, it was appreciated :D
i got em7/8 combo, any other ones?
not hardly! I had to ask for clues for most of them.
must leave now -- *poof*
fran, there are a couple more em7s
hiccup time
there are more em7's
hiccup time
must go puppy walking time
Fran and I singing in unison as usual ;)
whoops, I did say that already
seeya lain

lol you are a fun set of twins... sprite & fran
thanks ornith...*searching*
when we're together dee just call us "frite"
bye lain, hf with the puppy
bye Iain!
LOL good idea

we prefer 'frite' ;)
okay sounds good
i got the im8. is the em8 similar?
nope dispatch
thanks for the im8 dispatch!
no, Dispatch. em 8 -- emerging spirits em*
yw
em8, gives forth
ne7/8 newborn(s)
thanks sprite!
ty for those clues...looking....
fran, are you looking for 8's?
just whatever pops out at me ornith
and for 4s, and for 5s,..... ;)
got the ne 7/8
lol, true sprite
ah, ok, was going to offer to clue them.
same here, no system at all :)
the em8 ends the same way dispatch
all these 7s are tough though!
thanks fran...i needed that clue! got them
i'm still entering words that were in yesterday's grid so not out of options yet. thanks ornith
yw dispatch!
me6/7 was tough for me. Nice to M*** you, switch last two letters, + short for father. (and plural)
thanks sprite
wow sprite, never seen those words before, thanks
wow, that's a totally new one
there are a lot of left overs from last grid aren't there?
of course there's no definition
Me6 is a chemosterilant. It's also used in creaseproofing and flameproofing textiles.
yes dispatch, a good test of semi-short term memory
wish my memory was better, bet I'm missing lots of yesterday's!
hmm, so we've probably been exposed to it and never knew what it was called
and were perfectly happy with that, Fran ;)
now every time we see a particularly uncreased piece of textile we'll be wondering if it's been treated with me6
i didn't have too many phantoms in the last grid...but boy there is a lot here!!
wish that were true, Fran! Next time it is in a grid, I will probably have to search for it just as long as today, lol.
lol
Fireworks
yay ARB!
yay arb!
grats arb - wow!!
wtg ARB
It really helps that the grid changes for me at 8 a.m. -- I'm fresh, and with a mug of coffee!
same here, 7.00 am is the flip :)
it's 1am here
the flip is, it's almost 3:30 now
it flips for me at 8:00 pm which is perfect for me because i'm definitely a night owl
And I'm addicted enough that I MUST do the grid before I do anythig else!
if I can manage, I babble first and do the rest later :)
ditto here too ARB
I'm a night owl, but I get tired come 3am or so. and of course I can't play at the flip worknights
Even if I can't manage, I do the grid first!
good thing you're so fast at it then arb!
Can I give any clues before I move on to the rest of my day?
not for me arb, thanks!
I am down to my last Ts and Ws and they are all 5 or 4, so no thanks, ARB :) Have a great day!
(of course i won't turn away if anyone else asks for clues)
I could use that im 8
too many left still, arb
no you couldn't, kitty, trust me!
kitty, im 8 is when you can't have kids... lots of spam about it!
lol sprite!
thank you! I should have seen that!
wow sprite, that's all you have left? and you started late too!
yeah, not much babble time today, so rushing it a bit. You guys are a great help with all the wonderful clues.
actually took time out today from babble to cook something lol
wow Dee :D
saw a pasta recipe on TV last week... tried it, and for a first try wasn't bad; angel hair pasta, olives, bacon, onions, garlic, tomatoes, oregano, parmesan cheese
and fireworks - happy to offer clues, but this short after ARB no one will need them yet, I think.
48 left and been going since the flip.... think it's time for bed!
WOW sprite
YAY Sprite
wtg sprite!!
how long after the flip did you show up again?
sounds delicious, Dee!
it was .. and didn't take long to make, which was a real bonus
not sure, Ornith, about an hour after the flip I think
for dessert had brownies, icecream, and drizzled chocolate
and you did not invite us for dinner, Dee?????
and you didn't use the list either, right?
oh yum dee!
ooh dee, you just reminded me i have a haagen-daz bar in the freezer, they were on sale
tried to invite you all
not the list, no, but all the clues in the chat :)
I always make too much pasta LOL
still though! you're way too good at this!
cannot believe you can do it without the list sprite; very impressive
lol Ornith, it is practice, really. Think I have been around here longer than most of you guys.
still impressive
don't think I will ever finish without list
better than twice my speed and without the list, sprite! and I thought I had a really good vocab.
*takes a bow* Never good with compliments, lol. All it takes is practice, pitbull mentality and lots and lots of help from my friends.
lol great description
Sprite is the greatest -- and Englih is not her first language, I believe.
ok, gotta run, lots of preps to make for daughter's party.
have a great day/night/whatever all of you and thanks for the fun and the help!
have a great time!

hi kanga!
everyone well?
hi kanga
Good morning kanga.
we are over here, chat is really quiet, don't know where everyone went
everyone must be concentrating hard!
That's pretty much the case here...
brains cells are in overdrive here, if i'm going to have any chance of even half finishing.
i had a small second wind (more of a breeze), but now i'm stalled, going to finish last 63 tomorrow.
good night/day to everyone!

guess so ADHD
i'm in heaven... been waiting all season for something other than ground cover
you sound bummed hurshy...
no, i'm good - was just planning to go fax stuff at the library today and now can't. but hopefully i can use the school fax.

ty
is the library closed?
found the ad8 but need help with other 8's please
no, i just don't feel good about the road conditions
well, the library MIGHT be closed, i haven't inquired
AP 6/21 and the 5 after it?
em8/45 - verb form of em7/32 - to proceed from
can't say as I blame you. i personally don't mind the snow driving at all, just don't trust the idiots that don't know how to drive in it.
im8/50 - lacking in strength and vigour, powerless
ne8/45 - the youngest members of society
Hi Haz
the campus is on a hill, just getting out of the school is hard, they don't plow the school drives as thoroughly as town roads
thanks Haz, got the im8 will look for the others
such fab clues
pr8/70 - verb form of pr7/36 - give an advance nomenclature
Hello lynxxx - just doing a quick look while doing housework...
that stinks hurshy... not a great idea to go there then... did we get any sleet under this snow? that makes it really dangerous to be on, even w/all wheel drive
*waits with bated breath to complete her 8's from haz clues*
thanks Haz, got the pr8
and i haven't got all wheel drive...
AP 6/21 and the 5 after it?
he8/50 is the other one, a plural of he7/36 - think seven and chemical endings
stay put then hursh... be safe.
thanks Haz, got the ne8
that is the easiest time i've ever had finding 6 8 letter words. ty haz!!!!
You're welcome - now, Mr Dyson awaits.....
thanks Haz, got the he8
hooray for dyson!
you have a dyson haz? i'm thinking of buying one. do you love it? which model?
i love mine! i have the pink and purple one. it is FAB
I have a Dyson, and like it very much
It's a Dyson DC01- I've had it for years and yes, though noisy, it's very efficient.
Mine is white
please may I h ave a clue for AP 6/21 and the 5 after it?
we could be a commercial. "babblers who know trust dyson."
a green one here !!
i haven't got ap6... i have 2 ap5's, a pl, and more appropriate
I don't think pets who belong to babblers who love Dyson would agree. Poor Spangle flees in horror when it appears.
will there is a sleep disorder
yeah but it picks up that pet hair!!
ah, so there is
thanks Haz, found all the 8's
are there attachments for the dyson?
yep
yes
That's good periwinkle - my good deed for the day! Back later!

ne8 babies, right when they're born
hi inge, I am here too *deep in grid*
:) at everyone
Hello all
hurshy... ne8 right when they r born?
yes. starts with the guy from the matrix...
there was a farmer had a dog and bingo was his na4o
b - i - n - g - o
b - i - n - g - o
b - i - n - g - o
and bingo was his na4o
and bingo was his na--
but I am still in the h's
whats the pointe for the ne8?
i'm all over the place
my childhood dog was Bingo and we sang that to him all the time - I don't think he appreciated it though!
ne8/40
argh im being so dim i still cant get it! i no who guy from matrix is... thats about as far as i go lol
then add a boy's name that rhymes with great

congrats hurshy!

bye all, see you later
congratulations to the future aunt!
Bye Ren8
haha lynxx
hullo annie dearest
apparently, if i had had a baby, then i might be allowed to be there, but she is irked that i have not opted to take that route in life and cannot give her any advice or insight
hi dear nutsy!!!!
ty for the congrats :)
the he8 pls? that will complete my 8's!
one less than high oc**** gasoline
one of my sisters opted to never have kids... so what? she has a dozen cats/dogs/birds as her kids.
cats r the best kids adhd!
have u heard of the organization of people who have elected to not have kids hursh?
congrats hurshy--my daughter's due in early April, and tho' i've been thru it, everything i did is now w-r-o-n-g! i roll my eyes at some things and get the evil eye back! but once the baby's here, i'm hoping i'll be a bit smarter in her eyes!
some don't get a choice
i'm a cat person too.
none of the yucky sleepless nights... just lots ofcuddles!
this is true also.
my kitkat is my lifeline to sanity
no, i have not heard of such an organization
i'm sure you will, mom23 :)
when i worked for a newspaper, there were ads for their meetings, but i can't remember the name of it sry
sounds really cat ladyish but i have 4... was supposed 2 be 3 but one of the babies nearly died and i saved its life so i had 2 keep him!!!!
they do trips and parties, etc
sounds nice... sometimes i feel very judged for not wanting children
no need 2 feel judged! my auntie never had kids... had her cat for 18 yrs! and shes perfectly happy!
in fact i know this couple that never had kids and have the best life! they go travelling everywhere and have the times of their lives!
one mom of a student came up for a visit (boarding school here) and sat at our table for lunch. within the first five minutes, i kid you not, she said to me, "so when are you going to have all the kids?" - never even met the woman before!
and that's disgusting that people would make u feel that way.
hurshy some ppl just think that thats the way of life!
hurshy, people like that mother are just plain stupid
i was quite taken aback, to say the least :)
i cannot imagine hurshy... what an idiot
ppl always ask me when im having kids! im like woah... slow down!
I did not have children for many years and I was bombarded with questions about having children...
it is no one
business
finally got the he8...tks hurshy :)
i don't understand how so many people think that is acceptable. i mean, they don't say, so when are you going to get a better job? or why are you still renting, why don't you buy a house?
and having kids is so much more personal!
*it is no ones business...but that does not stop people from asking that stupid question
too true
and for those who want kids and are having trouble, it's such a painful thing to be asked about
hurshy, just smile and ask them "Why are you asking?"
oh my god i only just got the vegetable!
yes hurshy. true
what if you couldn't have kids, or had miscarried, or had one that died or something... what kinda idiot
what vegetable?
ADHD, exactly!
pe4
what does the veggie start with?
off to the burgh, cya'll
bye nut
bye, nutsy
hi
howdy ky
the veggie?
hi kylan
Hawaiian Goose Alert... Good Monday to you all.. great grid today!

en5/10 and en4/8 are what I have from that one so far
back from breakfast (loving this snow day)
en5/10 being a person related on the mother's side.

e plus the man's name that appears in the plural but not the singular in the grid (na5)
oh, duh -- got the 5. just make it plural for your other word from that tile. :)
Hi Doren--a snow day? Yippeeeeee!
yes indeedee!
hi all! dorens how much did you get?
Okay, thanks evanadine.
Hi TO!
not enough to make it a legitimate snowday owl..two inches... (not enough to have the guy come plow me out, so another hour or two of good cardio exercise !
we got the snow...were hoping for a snow day, but theyre being really stingy with them this year! alas, had to come in to work... *le sigh*
Doren, Phoebe is SO cute all bundled up!
ah! but you get to babble at work eva nadine.... only way i can do it during the day is to be home!
only because i have nothing else to do right now...hah
she was crosscountry skiing (they bundled her up and attached her to a sled somehow) and she loved it!
I was XC skiing on Saturday--it was a glorious day in the woods.
hah--thinking of Phoebe must be how I just found the di6/7
A clue, Doren?
lol, that gave me the word too!
thinking of Phoebe! (a baby)
what babies need that begin with di
scrab... in your line of work you're far more familiar with these than the rest of us old ladies
any clues for em7/32 please
**still searching, wondering why I can't see this word**
I am missing a qu. Any clues please? I have qu4/8, 5/18, 5/16 and 6/27.
Got it, duh!
you see it every time you have to examine a baby, scrab
add a consonant to you 5/16 biltong
And when I remove one from a little boy I get fired upon everytime!!
no, swap a consonant for the final vowel
be right back,phone
There's another qu5/16 right at the end
he 6/24 please
sugar, he + consonant + male
boys let you know at a very early age that it is hard to trust them, lol
tx minty, thats fireworks for me!
ty minty, weird word. hooray sugar!
WTG Sugar
clues for em7/32 please?
flosey -- take the thing you use to change channels on yout TV + stick the first latter at the end (then you can get 2 other words from it as well)
Haha, Doren! And when parents ask me about "Why is is hand always down his di6 or underwear, I tell them that it will be a lifelong relationship.
plural of em6, which is one who em5's
There are two - the first means to proceed from, the second is a plural for those who show feeling in a dramatic way.
Yahooooo sugar!!
thanks all, em7/32 em + first vowel + male name. Pl for the 8
thanks Dorens

em - plus what you win in a competition, but change the z for another consonant
morning all.
morning, charm
I can't get the em7,36 either
hey guys/gals got just a few minutes to babble before getting to work on my newspaper
Hi Charm
morning charm:)
Good morning Charm.
Morning ADHD!
morning charm, and jade
Hey, Haz, jean, Scrabbler, Jade!!
on your newspaper? cool!
and adhd
Hi, Dorens
em + a word that sounds like a reward for winning
hey there dorens
hi jade, charm, dorens, haz, scrab, jean, babble buds, et.al.
heelo ADHD:)
lol meant hello
got it, thanks evanadine
i don't,,, gotta get this brain in gear
TY, Hazel--got it now.
That's good Scrabbler.
ADHD, it took me 10 minutes to even notice the QU on the grid!
when you throw someone a party that they dont know about, its a SUR***** party -- swap the SUR for EM
lol scrab. i still don't get that winning clue
tx for dummifying it for me evandine
em + the starship enter*****
hah, not dummifying it -- just translating it into the right language. ;)
Yes, that's it, ADHD.
i was thinking that the entire word was what u get for winning something,... wasn't isolating the second syllable
hah with this crowd... adhd's is the right one! :)
aw shucks.. they were all good, i'm just slow on the uptake this morning. first day out of bed in a week and i've got to get a newspaper put together today
i haven't started with lickety yet... can anyone tell me if there are any ph wordds or am I wasting my time?
havent looked at the list yet, but i dont have any PH words myself
my studio is in my barn's loft, so i don't have to drive in this snow (yes people, we finally got some snow... all of 3 inches, but supposed to get a couple today)
ph5,14
there's at least one ph word, Dorens
one ph word
how far r u evandine?
i'm only up to 89 words
tennagers go through a ph***
adhd, when you said starting on a newspaper, i thought you meant starting to read it! thanks scrab, flosey and jade
ahh, thanks!
103 words left to go here -- 3 more words and i tret myself to a breakfast break. ;)
no... i'm a graphic artist and do an advertising paper for a guy every month. i get to be creative... it's a ll display ads
go evandine
phaser isn't a word? don't we set them on stun????
i'm eating my breakfast now... shredded wheat w/fresh peaches
and heman? tarzan?
hey charm said a word (well minus the last letter)
I tried that too, Charm. DENIED!
ive got peach yogurt and a plain bagel waiting for me (they were uout of blueberry!) but ive got cream cheese + honey to top it off...
Hey, adhd - I'll slink off to the penalty box - there are brownies there....
hm...never tried cream cheese and honey on a bagel.. soounds good
need coffee charm?
mmmm sounds so good...i'm allergic to dairy. i have rice milk w/my cereal... miss yogurt and cream cheese, etc. soy yogurt is so disgusting
yeah, i thought it sounded icky, but one of my coworkers used to do it, so i tried it and its quite good!
but soy ice cream is truly yummy.
since my family was jewish, bagels could have cream cheese, but only with some sort of fish...herriing, smoked whitefish, lox, etc. there was no such thing as raisin bagels back then
ooooooo i'm done w/my cereal and i don't want to work now, tho i don't really consider it work, with cats on my lap and a fire going while i sit at my pc in the loft of the barn, overlooking snowy woods
am off,. hopefully bbl, happy babbling everybody:)
bagels weren't meant to be sweet, nor anything that went on them. and since i hated fish, i was just cream cheese with swiss cheese, or onions (the ones that were in the herring) or tomatoes
Ooo, Charm--Tofutti--1 pint disappears quickly!
lox, bagels and cream cheese... i grew up w/that dorens (on the jewish side)
sounds lovely ADHD
ok, 100 words even left to go, breakfast time! back in a bit. :)
see ya later evandine
Beautiful, ADHD.
later jean, evanadine
i don't like lox anymore and can't have cream cheese, so my bagels are eaten plain.
Right column is greyed out, and with this breakfast talk I am ready to eat! BBL
and i didn't like lox then, and do now
see you scrab
Bye Scrabbler.
just plain toasted bagels with a bit of *real* butter.
that sounds good charm
it was flosey... i would go to the jewish bakery every sunday morning w/my dad for the newspaper and salt sticks, then go to my aunt's up the street from us for bagels, lox and cream cheese. sunday mornings were the best as a kid (but my crayolas were still my favs)
mmmmm nothing like REAL butter
hello babblers. bye scrab
Hey, Bloodaxe
hi bloodaxe
Hello Bloodaxe - hairy or bald?
hey ba
oh boy... just saw that i've got 3 greyed tiles
sorry ADHD, was referring to your setting, the loft, fireplace etc, not the food
small ones, but grey just the same
hi blood.... adhd, we always had to go get them fresh, the bakery on a sunday morning, brings back memories
oh.. lol
still got a full head haz...did you find a lady for me yet?
doesn't it dorens
Not yet - I'll watch the Oscar coverage this evening and keep a look out.
and yes, flosey, the loft is waiting. as soon as i get all the boxes up there unpacked, i will set up my loom too
oooohhh...an award winner. you really want the best for me, huh?
ah, you a weaver also, I haven't done any for a few years but anxious to get back to it
Nothing but the best for you, Bloodaxe. Does it matter if they have had plastic surgery to LOOK young?
last thing I made was when first grand was expected - made cotton chenile crib blankets for him
just read your icon adhd... i also have fond memories of getting a new box of 64. they were like magic. I have given them as gifts to nieces and nephews (at the right age... when they're young enough to still appreciate)
i've got supplies and equipment to make just about anything i want from polymer clay to jewelry making to machine embroidery (a gift to myself sev. yrs ago was a $6000 sewing/embroidery machine, before breast surgery, an incentive to get well quick... and i did... all the nasty stuff was removed and I'm clean w/just part of one boob missing)
hahaha..i suppose i can't be too picky can i? otherwise my options would diminish significantly if you're choosing from that crowd.
mmmmm my crayons yes
Well, I'll do my best for you, just you keep looking your end for a millionaire for my daughter.
don't have expectation so high that they are unreasonable bloodaxe, but don't set your sights too low either. a doctor i used to work for said to choose your mate by their teeth lol
hey all i still cant get the last qu? i have 4/8 5/18 5/16 6/27?
mooshie mooshkin...thanks.
i want to find 100 words before i leave... i'm at 95
haha..teeth, huh? i suppose you can tell a lot about a person by their teeth...hygene is very important
dfa - It's the same structure as the spurting sq6/27 but remove the s from the front
switch the vowel at the end of the 5/16 to a consonant
anyone got the pr 7/36 ?
pr7/36 - give a child a label in advance
to decide on what you'll call your unborn baby ahead of time pr****
pr7/36 to give the baby a monicker before birth
haha its like u sq**** someone with water

im english... does that work here too?
dfa -- bush is our in the US
if you use the US head of state, it works anywhere ;->
No! I said the US head of state, or the head of state of a republic in general.

oh i can't wait until it gets warm. just saw food show with nyc places and i would like to check some out
just let me know when! food in nyc is a major draw. i remember when my kids were little, when we'd be in the city and they'd see a mcdonald's and i ihad to explain to them that we NEVER eat that kind of crap if in ny... so many good ethnic places we just can't find elsewhere
three i remember are little owl (!), peasant, and a bbq place i just saw...can't remember the name i think it was on al roker's show
i do love to eat
one of our regulars is La Bonne Soupe--been going there for 25 years when in the Big Apple: La Bonne Soupe, 48 W. 55 th (between 5 th & 6 th Aves.), 212-586-7650, www.labonnesoupe.com
90 more words to find...time for a break again!
me too... but i try to watch what i eat.
mhm. i like that place too une. went to a chilean place saturday night which i had never even heard of.. it was good. saw the 25th annual putnam spelling bee on broadway.. what a cute show!
sounds neat...does chilean food use a lot of beef?
saw that with my daughter last year--very cute!
i had salmon, and they had chilean sea bass (no surprise there) ... a butternut squash cappucino for first course--i don't eat much beef so i didn't notice
how old is your daughter une?
just turned 30 in January -- and a vegetarian who USED to also eat fish but no longer
we go to NYC every year--used to go with my mom
there was a kid about 12 years old from the audience who they put in the show and he was funnier than anything else iin the show!

can't imagine what it must have been like to see it the first week--ohmygod!
my mom had seen it before it hit broadway, down in the village (it was part of the ny shakespeare festival), loved it and got tickets for us before it was scheduled to move, so they switched the tickets and we got such great seats

How fluent is your Arabic, Blood?
Hello inge! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle

not very douglas...but i'm learning. i've had the equivalent of two years now.
Does anyone have a clue for the an 5/10 word please
Hi, Min, when are you moving?
Actually, I need the first an 5/10 word if you have it.
plural of bet??
I am hopefully moving at end of March if all goes well.
dire
The reason I ask is that every so often there is an article in the news about how few people in the military or intelligence community speak Arabic fluently, or can translate Arabic effectively
oops--so sorry!
an 5/10; an + ***enmann, the donut and coffeecake producers
an + what you pay your landlord, minus the first letter
it's not that bad nonnie. ;-)
lol wolvie
Thank you for the an 5/10 clues. I finished an words.
yes, Wolvie, they were hiring people from the Arabic community in Dearborn, MI right and left, and had poor results
west point send students here to study arabic. there have been about 6 each semester i've been here. it's a "critical" language.

Does anyone have a clue for the di 6/24 word please?
inge - I was talking about nonnies booboo, not the arabic. :-)

di 6 - baby bottom cover
*babies
congrats ruthy
way to go ruthy
WTG ruthy
bravo Ruthie
congrats ruthy!
Another reason I ask is that I've recently read about a man named Sayyid Qutb...He lived for a short time in America in the late 1940's...he wrote a book called Milestones, which has become required reading for all the Al-Qaeda guys...
Congratulations ruthy on fireworks! Hooray for you!
think i preferred babbies - wot grow into babblers
Yay ruthy!
lol kazzer!
I haven't read that book Doug
and Wolvie I wans responding to that comment, all is straightened out again
Kazzer, I loe your comment
Well, most people in America haven't, but I've read that in the Islamic world, Sayyid Qutb is a big deal...
i read a little about Qutb last semester. Milestones is a pretty important book for extremist muslim groups.
i have been learning arabic in work
Another few minutes to get some words, and possibly crack the 80 barrier.....LOL
hmm - I'll have to check it out - I presume it is translated - or not?
hi lori
He also wrote an essay called "The America I Saw," describing his time in America, but I can't find it in English...
should have given up typing for Lent!!! Can't type right
go for it lorip
if i remember correctly it's about turning the clock back to the "golden age " of muslim civilization...before colonization and western interfenence.
go lori go
Hello LoriP!How are you? Welcome back to the puzzle
clue please for na4/4 - 5/10? ty
How rude of me. G'd evening again Babblers!
I can't either, but then, i am having an early wine - that kind of day. :-)
have you found a copy of Milestones?
Wolvie, remember....the sun is over the yardarm somewhere! :)
na 4/4 is that temple with three vowels, the 5/10 is mans name plural
good deal for me lori
ty inge
oh yea...i forgot...fireworks
hello everyone! hmm, i'm not decided, this seems pretty big for me to be starting this late in the day
congrats blood
Indeed yes, Blood! So the reason I'm on this Sayyid Qutb kick is that it would be a good thing for this work to be publicized, discredited, mocked to scorn, etc.
Congrats Blood!
Yay Bloodaxe!
WTG blood
Congratulations Bloodaxe on fireworks! Good for you
actually, it moves along quite well, and there are plenty of cluers
hi feather - go for it
well done, blood!!
bravo Bloodaxe
Hello featherbee! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
ok Doug - I will get the book and check it out
congrats Blood
hey bilt

i tend to agree douglas. i haven't seen any sort of response to Qutb. his stuff seems to go unoticed by the general population.

Thank you for my at5/12 clue inge. Finished at words
go min go!
ok, well i should be smart and get dinner going while daniel is very engaged with what he's playing with. after dinner, maybe i'll start!

You mean fireworks for you, MIN??
I understand he is considered to be an expert on this sort of thing...and an activist...
Recently deceased, yes?
hello feather
his most famous book is "Orientalism".
yes, he died i think 2 or 3 years ago.
No, I do not have fireworks yet. I have a ways to go.

hey wolf-type-folks
:D
hi hursh!
hugh?
hi pab
pab, you must not have clicked on it to enlarge it then
hugh, you know, third of five, that they rescued, and put that insidious self-awareness into the collective
good episode
great episode
I sort of recall this. This was a Voyager episode, yes?
aacckkk!
though i don't understand why he's third of five instead of three of five, clashes with the later seven of nine... and the borg don't strike be as being so... careless
no, TNG
I think I will move along my dinner preparations, BBL
bye inge
any clues for et 4
Well, I have some more episode watching to do...
the volcano?
et 4 is our trusty volcano
ty wolvie
yw kazz
Goodbye inge! I'll see you later tonite in the chat log!
I'm getting this muddled up with the Voyager episode where the Borg queen was blowing up cubes and spheres left and right to stomp out all traces of Borgs cutting themselves off from the collective
Hello hurshy! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
yeah that was much later
ahhh - I wish someone would rerun DS9 episodes. le sigh
hugh was the first time they did anything with the concept of potential borg individuality
then you had lore
Both in story time and real time...
then the queen
the queen was really creepy, more human than borg really
I was recently watching the episode where Sung is telling Data and Lore that he is dying..."Dad always liked you best!"
I'm a firefly fan.
yeah, creepy queen
Does anyone have a clue for the ha 7/32 word please
it was never clear to me whether she is supposed to have existed BEFORE hugh and the lore stuff happened, or what, because she seems like the result of individuality but yet you also get the feelings she was always there...
i loved firefly i was so disappointed when they cancelled it
me too
yes hurshy like she was the first borg
(pad and wolf)
hurshy - my understanding of the queen is she was first
".... I'll be in my bunk."
paB
So she was the one who got the whole thing started?
but like, she seems somehow incompatible with the original presentation of the borg collective
bye everyone, happy babbling!
not really - she makes things the way she wants - still subjective to her
bye bilt
Goodbye Biltong! I will see you tomorrow in the chat!
yes, they never really got into where the borg came from
bye Biltong
ha7/32--something you put on over your ha4/5 in the kitchen in a restaurant

Do you address K2, Wolf?
i'm due august 10th, not far apart
I do :)
I know K2 doesn't have ears yet, but I still cup my hands on my love's abdomen and I talk to him.
I did so with K1, my daughter Gabrielle.
Does anyone have a clue for the pr 6/21 word please
If you don't have to program your VCR out of the box, you could say it's pr****.
Congratulations Wolfrick on your child to be!Hooray!
But there is brain activity...How old is Gabrielle?
Thanks :)
The fear of mutiny due to hunger has passed, back for a few more words. :)
She turned 5 early this month.
My oldest daughter was almost 5 when my now-15-year-old was born. The operative phrase was "That baby is not a toy!"
