jilli: all you need is a headset. Headphones with a microphone attached. You plug it into your 'puter and off you go. Skype is free. There is a pro variant... ignore it :)

fran, I have a sound card but will have to find a jack or ask my guru who assembled the machine where it is -- I hope not around on the back of the tower which is on the floor!
jilli, the puter has jacks for it. It usually is straightforward: if it fits, you have the right one. And if there are two, in for sound and out for mike, then just put them in the matching coloured jacks. If it doesn't work, just switch them, lol. You'll be fine.

it is pretty simple, just downloading a simple and free program and plugging in a headset in your 'puter, and then you can talk for free to eachother, like you're on the phone. It was wonderful to hear her voice.

still lots of side effects and not much intended effects, and we are working on the pain issue. Had to quit taking my pain medication because it did not combine with the antidep. But with too much pain depression is hard to battle.

I know that very well, sprite... but, oddly, I became accustomed to pain levels far above what is considered "normal"... depression is always exacerbated by dealing with discomfort. *Hugs to you* from the bottom of my heart.

goedemorgen, sprite. as you know, I have some very strong opinions on meds, and no longer allow any treater to be the sole arbitor of how my brain will be fried. i have never understood the benefit of prolonged, painful side effects that only exacerbate and exhaust a spirit already acutely taxed. the cure should not be worse than the problem. you may be shocked to learn I am not shy about saying so to anyone that can abide my yelling.

BabbleRabble, I hear you! Have been so confused about it all, not my usual controlling self. But yesterday I went to the doctor and told her flatout that I will not take antidep if that means so much more pain, because there is just no point then. She took it very seriously and she and I decided together what we were going to try against the pain. We won't stop until we have found a working combination.
oh, and no, I am not shocked. Actually, I really appreciate your candid comments.

she is a great doctor, always takes us seriously and not afraid to speak her mind. I never wanted medication and she is the one that convinced me, years ago, that putting all my energy in handling pain was a waste of energy AND life. She was right.
Good for you, sprite. meds that don't help are simply unacceptable. meds must be given a fair chance to work, but should never be worse than what they are trying to fix. i have had a lot of experience and will not take what makes my problems worse. seems silly to have to say that. even so, the state of the art remains to a large degree trial and error. i will have a say when the error ends

a bit stupid, pink. Halfway someone barged in to say my car had to be moved because they were blocking up the road for repairs. I panicked and my therapist couldn't handle it. He kept throwing solutions to me while I was to panicked to hear them. Just needed to ground and center and get back to me... would expect a therapist would understand that.

The plot of Heroes is designed to be similar to the stories of comic books. Like comic books, Heroes has large overall arcs and small arcs within the main arc. No matter what characters exist and what events make up a season, all seasons of Heroes will involve ordinary people who discover their abilities and their reactions to their self-discovery. [1] Each episode reveals new answers and questions and progresses the story and/or the characters. There is an overall arc of the first season that revolves around stopping an explosion of immense proportions that happens in the future. That arc is initially carried by two characters, Hiro Nakamura and Isaac Mendez, where the former saw the act in the future and the latter painted it from his visions. Atalante - I don't normally choose it because it is so sweet, but the banoffie pie I had on holiday last year was fantastic. They had used the equivalent of oaty biscuits for the base, a very thin layer of toffee, bananas were pureed down a little and chocolate thickly grated over. THAT I could take.

she always had a heart murmer. then she started having blood clots lodge in the vein that runs to the back legs, and so would become paralyzed in the back legs. the first time, the vet didn't think she'd make it. we knew she had limited time, but still wanted that time to be comfortable, so were willing to have her stay at the vet's for her medicine, etc. gave her pills every day
not after looking in my in-box!
she rallied each time. the vet's were all amazed at her spirit.

I have had them most of my life. You sort of get used to dealing with it.... over the counter i used to do excedrin migraine with two aspirin....
I take naproxen, and then vicodin for the pain if the naproxen doesn't abort it...
imitrex doesn't work for me. Zanaflex if for migrain and nerve pain. I also have the neck of an 80 year old woman and I am not even close to that. lol

Jellen I *highly* recommend SSI for vacation. Victoria (on the big island) is a lovely little city, feels much more urban than its size; SSI is a marvelous, artisty rural place. With a high percentage of babblers in the population!

Jellen, lots of people come to this idyllic island but it depends on what turns you on -- kayaking, hiking, visiting art galleries, sea bathing in cool calm water but shingle beach, strolling on sandy beaches where it's too cold to swim, going to all kinds of musical concerts ( but not hiphop or hard rock), exploring the Saturday market....having gourmet meals... and on and on
