yay, a smallish one!

i just needed two points to get 2500 :(
MUCH better size. thanks DrG, now maybe my stats can climb back into positive territory!
ooh, this one looks tough
Actually Jacs, Someone posted a grid that was 1311 words......
oops. forgot to change for Canada Day... brb
woohoo! first one to flip! that makes the small grid worth it i guess...
this looks easirer!
whew, this one is reasonable
darn, i was gonna say something smaller too initially...oh well
zflip
never trust a smallish grid :(
morning all
hi, sprite!
hallooo sprite!
hi sprite!
If I'd known the grid was going to take so late to change I would have stuck it out for my last 26 words.
like I haven't been away at all... you are all still here!
Never mind. New day.New grid.
Jac -- fix your watch!
eh, small grids aren't my bag - think i'll keep playing NetWinner.com and see what else fun I can find on the internet
flip
late flip!
hello to all the usual suspects :)
"zans" is so a word. According to Dr. Seuss, anyway.
hmmm. interesting grid

how many words are in this one?
hi judy, helen!

6:08am here, Hell.
uh flip?
goodnight everyone - happy babbling!
LOL CiociaJudy... at first glance I thought your icon was an echoscoop pic from a baby :)
jacs! you're up very late - or should i say 'good morning' to you?
going to get my icon
what do you mean by being up so early when you stayed up so late? *scold scold* {{{sprite}}}
bye firefily

i thought the smaller ones were easier
Hi, mmim
New naked alien pc though. Clock says about 6:02am.
hi chuh-chuh!
flippy
LOL Sprite. Pic from my trip to Alaska.
hi Hugs
Hi, Stidddddddd!
Clock is probably corret (not pc clock, desk clock).
they are generally quicker Tim, but they can be harder individually to find the words
rani
*grins at stid* I thought I heard you all calling: there is a new grid, sprite, come out of bed!
Your PC clock is close to correct.
thx Jac!
Can't get to BabAnon to post the stats
really huge grids usually render lots and lots of easy to find words... smaller ones can be nastier. But there is no telling without trying ;)
Wait till you see the last 'z' word on this one......
what do you mean can't get to babanon?
I have already found about 5 Z words. None valid though. I think 3 are german.
oh, hooray, a smaller grid!
Shalom Everyone
h'mm, BJ has me wondering..
argh -- I get a no server on BabAnon too!
boker tov ARB!
Boker tov, ARB

what are the words for z??
Boker Or Stid, Sprite. Hi Jellen, Judy, mymuse
i mean give me a hint
Hi muse
za5/22
geli -- none of the rest of us are ready for clues yet. At this time of day we just let people know how long the words might be -- after we find them
someone said they found the words, ok genius?
za 8
ha. go a ti6!
ti7
thanks doc
geli -- you will not be insulting. And the person who has the list has not yet found the words.
well done wally!
owwwww nice za8! I think I am in love :D
will you please stop talking to me
yellow alert
but stid - i always thought you were a genius? are you saying gel meant that in a bad way?
za8 - emerald nickel
indeed
geli -- I suspect everyone will, ya see.
hm. *gets troll repellant*
that wont keep your mum aaway
just kidding
rofl... oh helen, if you ONLY knew!
here we go
*groans*
stid is more than smart... stid is wise :)
I've got more phantoms than words at this point; always seem to be one letter short
stid is sweet
nice word, new to me.. but rather melodic
see & i WAS going to say that you could have been called way worse than a genius, but then they had to go & call your mama a troll, oh my o my
but you are almost done, right drB? ;)
In happier news, thanks for the tip on the za 8; I'd never heard of that word before
i agree aloy
*pulls on cloak and pointy hat* wise woman is in the house... LOL
we're with you, stid
yeah !! my cuputer is fixed:)

ma5/12 - what babble is for most of us
tsk tsk, sprite -- hope it wasn't because something was bothering you
thanks:)
nan: isn't it pretty!
(btw, tim is in the grid)
hehe but without the hortons it means nothing to me
not at all jilli, just a babble addict here. Not feeling bad for lack of sleep yet either. But wa4 till 3 o'clock this afternoon... then the man with the hammer will arrive ;)
I found MA 6 that babble is also...

come back soon, jac!
*hugs Jac*
ah, sprite, the knockout blow
ma 6/24 - a female garment from the 17th century
found a compound word backwards
pi 7, if it hasn't been called
ty, nan
jilli, english and dutch seems to be complementary in this, lol. The knockout blow, delivered by...
left hook?
quite so, sprite
pi7 - if your underarm was human, it would be this word, lol
hmmm -- compound word backwards...
LOL CsCs!

not that i am looking for clues but how far in do you start to give them just so i know
don't remember if someone asked for this or not, but ti 7/36 - alt. spelling; meaning is a small, grayish black buffalo
as soon as people have the words and other people ask, tim
ty:)
I'd wait at least 90 minutes or you may get bitten by the more rabid amongst us....
like about five seconds after the game starts@@
*!!
usually not at all at this stage, timhorton. Today seems to be different though, lol. At this stage we usually only give out first 2 letters and length for biggies and very unusual ones.
lol
i've been vaccinated for rabies, bj, so i'm not scared :P
oh, sorry sprite...didn't know there were rules for clue giving...i'll be quiet now
that was helpfull thanks brandyjack
I am sure you have made lots of people happy, CsCde :) And your clues were very smart and not too obvious, I liked them.
other than the za and the 2 ti's... has anything else been called?
it's okay, CCF -- your clues are obscure enough to keep most of us in the dark - lol
oh ok, lol
I think a pi7, Hugs, at least

well, I am in no way an authority here, but as far as I am concerned, please answer it ;)
sure, you are very good for a newbie!
You are certainly off to a flying start, then!
well, to answer your question, the other 8 is tr 8/45 and the 9 is tr 9/60...and now i'll be quiet for awhile, lol

Good morning all - I want sarmi to be a word - I made them every day for school for years and years and years
ty

Hi carra

wooooooooot Hugs were they smart enough to hire you? Congrats!
hi jellen!
any special kind, ursh?
no, this was another place I had interviewed at... I start on July 16. It's only a term for 8 months to a year while their person goes on mat leave
I have 2 girls and then we had a late lamb when they were 13 and 15 - so school lunches went on for ever
dang, I want a sarmi
enjoy hugs, hope it gives you a 'foot in'
ok Hugs, still great! Have you started already? And is it a good place?
they might never want to let you go, once they have had you there, you know

hi ren!!!
me too jes
hey muse
hi jes!
at 26 words
and ccf finished the grid without it gee
i did good yesterday with no clues... i got up at 170 words
tim - there are manual things I need to do to get the clues up - like checking I got the right number of words, then uploading the clues (don't have it automated yet), uploading printable clues, and updating the Babble Expert Fireworks video for the day. Sometimes I'm not around at flip time, so it can be an hour or two late some days. Today I was at the shopping centre with my kids.
hiya, muse. how'sit?
:) i inderstand :) i didn't mean you were slow:)
i'd rather be shopping //P-/
lickety *hug* that's it exactly! Lickety has a life, lol, apart from babble! We appreciate all you do for us!
New icon posted :)
i never use the clues, tim...for whatever reason, it seems to freeze up my computer for a few minutes and then i usually have to exit and reenter to recommence play, so i don't mind doing it the old fashion way
just trying to get a lay of the land:)
hey - that's ok, I wish I didn't have to do anything - but at this stage there is manual intervention ;-) If I paid for my website rather than using Google - maybe I could - but as I don't have the exact word list that Babble uses - sometimes I have more than the grid has.
ok, I am off for a while, kids to feed, aikido to take them too, exams to watch... back later. Have a great day all!
i have that problem too my puter is old I can only have one window open to run optimal
bye Sprite!
ty for the list, lickety
later sprite -
btw -- love version 11
bye, sprite
btw lickety - your site still has poor demoted pluto listed as a planet

imdone - hey - someone finally mentioned - good to see someone reads ;-) enjoy everyone - I gotta go fix some window fly screens to make them cat proof.
the blonde video was hilarious
bye lickety
who has the right to demote a poor defensless planet
nan - thanks! I've got a couple of things to do to it - so there will be a 12 one day! Aloyisius - thanks! I love feedback like that! Makes it all worth while.
later lickety - say hey to mrp
i hear you tim - the only good thing about it was that Eris came along, how i love my goddess of discord

lol, broll.. glad you found it before it molded.. but i think the sugar will preserve it for a while.. gonna have a slice of your pie for bfast tomorrow, yum
in7
hmm. how's it fasten to the frame? mine don't destroy the mesh so much as pull it off the frame and go out the resulting flap

age does not exist in babblonia
it can be an excuse for almost anything:)
as can being young
true tim, very young is excused as is very old

well i am not "very: old:)
g'night, nan
g'nite, nan

lol, it's surprising, the older we get, the older "old age" becomes
i used to think forty was ancient

I can remember that too - now it's the age of my kids
:)
old is 15 years older than you are

My mom is 87 and refers to 40yr olds as youngsters

oh its a small grid! thank goodness
its changed a lot... since it is growing. this area, Grafenwhoer training center is going to be the central for US Army operations in Germany
or that is the plan we were told about
Good morning everyone!
whew smaller grid today
i remember a lot of countryside and a great village restaurant with really good jaegershnitzel not too far away. i really enjoyed my visits with them.
hi foffle!
hey toadandtoadette my flag is having a lir down! LOL
hiya fran
foffle, does that mean Belgians are more upright? :-)
no it just rains nore so we grew upright
yes, Fran the country side is wonderful
and no, the Belgian beer tends to make the people horizontal
lol
hi Foffle
i'll be right back, have to get kids settled down.
hi there
whereabouts in germany?
Near Amburg
I'm not German though...
I'm in Bugges
Brugges
We haven't made it to Belgium and I don't know the area
Hello Foffle
we're not far from the coast
hiya loredana
Brugges is a medieval town - you'd like it
I miss the water. I went home to Oregon, US, and my parents took me to the coast. I loved it
COOL.. I'll have to write it down so we can look into visiting
we're about a half hour drive but only 10 minutes by train
for some reason I am having trouble with this grid..... erg
Any clues for the tr9? I only need a few more to complete my first ever grid and i've never asked for a clue before!!

nice. do you travel alot
used to travel loads in Europe but not any more
we don't travel enough. but husband is leaving for Iraq in a couple months so I'll have tons of time on my hands to do that
I just feel bad that he won't have time to do it also, since when he gets back we only have 7 months or so before we leave for a new location
you can do loads in 7 months! Europe isn't that big
yep, I know
hello foffle and tnt :)
Thnx for the help! Thought the chat box was for babble chat but must be wrong
hey mr pres

morning jean
Moocow - sorry, I don't have the tr9 yet but am looking.
hi jean! :) hi lore :)! hi haz :)!!
I don't have it yet either
Good morning/evening all, by the way.
Hello Haz
tr8&9 is the 3 hulled boat
morning haz
Thanks lynxxx.
Hi Haz & MRP & Jean & Foffle and everyone else I can't see
hey lynxxx and Mrp
the tr 8.45 extends the tr. 4.5, what you do with a clipper to your nails. the tr 8 ends with the country that has teheran as a capital, with a different first vowel. the tr 9 is the plural .... and moo you attitude could use some adjustment
good morning Haz:)
the ti8 & ti9 is a three hulled boat
Hey haz - she's looks like a beuty queen
hi lynxxx - I'm trying to think what a 3 hulled boat is called - nore coffee needed
Hello lynxxx - she posed beautifully, didn't she?
tr8= 3 +short for mother + past tense of faster than walk (plur for 9)
Hello Jean - any sunshine on your side of the water?
well a two hulled boat is a cata*****
Foffle - if you think of what a 2 hulled boat is called you will get it
Hello Ishult
Hi Lore & everyone
thanks Ishult. I wasn't even looking for it, but might as well take advantage of the clue
got it thank you all
hi lynxx and isult! :)

LOL Haz - I like the description chisel job
me too BR
I tell you, Foffle, sledgehammers may need to come into the picture. And I'm glad you found it no stroll in the park, Babble!
I must say I'm even finding some of the samll words difficult today - the e is in the wrong place and an o would help loads LOL
those strolls generally were with tongue in cheek
I need an L!
And there I thought you were serious!
ok I give up can anyone clue me the first na4,4?
good monkey!! za8 !!
na4/4 might be the indian flat bread with the extra vowel helping?
that's the 2nd one isn't it haz?

the first na 4 is a palindrome

Hi Lori
Happy Canada Day Lori
***Lori shakes carlee's pompoms, or something like that.....*** Congrats carlee!
it's not the going on the potty part that's the problem, it's the remembering that undies aren't the same as diapers. he's fine when he's bare bottomed.
for a peanut butter cup..he'll remember
something he LOVES

SCrabbler that makes me cross, do they realise how many dogs get destroyed at the pound or even given back to the dogbreeds. SOrry if i seem like im jumping down your throat, just a giant pet peve of mine
I understand completely, Lady. I suggested the animal shelter, to rescue a dog, but she wants to experience the puppy phase.
You can do that at the pound they have pupies, heck even breeders have rejects (said with love)
hmm, can't see the bottom T. anyone have it?
I had it feather but now its gone hang on
Umm BOOB RANT
lol, wow, got it from that!
tr extra wood on the siding
Me too, although you used a word, Lady
there is BOOB RANT and BOOB AMOUNT per hour
I used a word wheres the word
But that word is not the lone bottom T word
ra4 is what you used
oh then i have no idea
You're killing me, Lady---LOL
Ok i did mmm

hello all babble heads a clue for the last in6/33 please
Is a BOOB AMount what you pay for a 'working girl;?
They are all quite sweet!
LOL, Lady!
just started, pink don't have it yet.
The thoughts i have when i am tired
All healthy now, Scrabbler?
Yes, Callie needed $871 of vet care to get healthy, and I remind her of that frequently
Pink - in + a stronge breeze
OH lordee Scrabbler thats a lot of cash, we love our furbabies
(strong!)
whoo, scrabbler! :-) a devoted mom
thanks lynxxx i just got it
Yes, my rabbits are my "kids" as I didn't wa4 any human ones
do they all get along together in the house? Or do you have to separate them?
Scrabbler at least they dont say MUM every five minutes
Alrighty, Babble kids, I must get ready for work. Our office is open for 2 1/2 hrs on Sundays (and holidays too) to see sick kids. Germs don't look at the calendar. Bye! Good luck with this grid---I have not been enjoying it, but it will make me a better Babbler, I guess.
Hi Scrabbler - just popping by - We inherited a Rabbit a while ago - but it was an evil rabbit. In the end we had to have it put down cause it was so dangerous.
howdy lickety
Hi lickety
Inge--they are in separate rooms. The boys each have a room upstairs, and Callie has the entire downstairs, with a room for her food, water and litterbox
Before it went I made it famous though - I made it a pink rabbit - sorta Punk Ish.
not so much a "and they lived happily everafter" story Lickety - !
hi pink, lady
Good lord they are one spoilted bunnyes i love it
how have you been lickety?
they sound like very happy bunnies
lynxxx - no, this rabbit would attack you and draw blood. We probably needed to take it to the Rabbit Whisper
Just like other pets, rabbits have their own temperaments---you got a scared, aggressive one, Lickety
Whisperer I mean
All of my bunnies experience nice lives--they are lucky
Yeah - we bought the hutch for our Rats - for a holiday treat - the Rabbit came with that. Scrabbler - I'm sure you are the most wonderful Rabbit Mum
I feel sorry for bunnies that experience life within a cage :(
or should I use Bunnies - sorry.
I have named my home, Rabbitat!
I had a Bunny as a kid for years. And only later in life did my parents own up to it's demise - It tried to eat something that didn't go smoothly down and comitted suicide
We had one like that too, Lickety. We tried very hard to calm it and socialize it, but it was not meant to be a tame rabbit. So we gave it a pen in the back yard, where it could dig tunnels and be a wild rabbit, but still safe from predators.
OK, I must prepare for a work day, Bye!
I suppose that means I haven't had much luck with bunnies.
My old house mate had on indoor bunny he used to have follow him about
Bye Scrabbler!
bye scrabbler!
that's pretty sweet, infernal.
Lickety how is the Squekers (the ratties)
Inge2 - we took the best option we could and had the vet put it down calmly - We couldn't find it the right home - and around here they are a real pest if in the wild.
yes, I know Lickety...the Australian rabbit story is one all biologists learn in school!
phantom: attitude
herin - the ratties are lovely - but unfortunately I'm so allergic I can't touch them. They are really friendly and sweet.
And I love ratties...have had a number as pets and they are so smart.
Lickety that is bad. I dont like things that can bite. im a plant person
back...with COFFEE....finally
I would love a kitty but cant have pets (renting)
Inge2 - yeah our first one I wasn't allergic too at that point, and she was lovely - would come to me to play even - even snuggles and cuddles - That breed is as close to a dog as I know.
I never would have thought I'd ever own a rat, but when they are young they look just like mice - but don't smell, are friendly, and so easy to look after - Was the perfect first pets for our kids (other than cats and fish of course)
love em..but allergic:(
um............ratties?
But then again we even had a Galah flying around the inside of our house for 6 months.
I cant have rats not allowed to smelly (not my thought)
hi all, clue for the ni5 please
females don't
um.......galah?
think shazam peri
I've had heaps of pets - from lizards to ducks, canaries, budgies, dogs, cats, rats, fish and even a crayfish sort of thing.
they say we are all a bunch of galahs in Australia Espritd
A crayfish?
But I'm allergic to cats, rats, horses and rabbits! Dogs are fine, birds ok, Fishes - never swam with them at home.
what the hell is a galah? a bat?
thanks carlee but not helping
A Galah is a pink and grey parrot thing
rhymes with peri
Gotta run...bye everyone. (Lickety - Chicken Dance ! really!)
ANd it squacks a lot
lady - the crayfish thing was cool - looked like a blue lobster
ok
shazam makes me think of Gomer Pyle

I kinda like scarflet... sounds like a little glutton, LOL
I have some hematite, but I go for glitz a lot, I'm afraid. But my fluorite is great- I'm from Illinois, and it's the state rock and all the mines are closed so I grab it when I see it for sale
ti 7/36 - ti + a planet -s + period table symbol for gold

bj's list is posted, flosey
bye for now everyone
thanks nan, will see if I can get it
bye sugar
A few weeks ago, right here in NOrth CArolina, I found a huge rock that called to me... it wanted to go in one of the gardens... just a big rock that told me it had to be dug up and moved... my heart nearly stopped when I worked and worked it, to see... when I turned it over, a gigantic geode with gorgeous crystals on the underside!!
Ouch. Thanks for your patience, FMitch. I even knew that word in the back of my mind, just couldn't see it!!
oh *wow*!!!!
LOL, FMitch... I'm too wussy to be a real pirate-babe! LOL
Gotta run. Happy Babbling!
I know, Ata... it has a place of honor alongside a pretty garden now, and I still get thumps in my chest when I see it...
bye jellen, enjoy your day
'Bye, Jellen!! Have a fabulous day!

cnan the tr 8&9 are a type of boat with more than one hull
Ti7/28 (two of them) Ti+another cross letter+ ****and rave. Second, 7/28, same start, three letters, ra4/4
ty mitch -- thought that was spelled with not out at the end
One lives and learns with babble cnan!
What a find, Ata! Rock hounds are the same all over the world!
Isn't that the truth, FMitch!
*grins*
ty scarlet
*Grins back* hehehehe
You're welcome, nan.
my best one though - I'm still proud of this - I took part in an expedition to Greenland to find fossils and I kicked over a big rock and it had a whole reptile skeleton in. complete. and it was a new species!
Oh Ata, I just "happened" to be passing an art/craft shop today and purchased a few bits and bobs toward the next embroidery.
Ohmigosh... I have chills from that, Ata!!
sorry all, was just adding a link to the word games links at the bottom of the page...back now
Mitch, what do you make ?
*!* ta da *!* --- thanks for all the help, everyone
*grins* yay! blame me :) I seem to inspire people to get back into mad craftingness!
That must have been such a moment!!
she makes GORGEOUS things!
Were you part of an archaeology expedition, Ata?
wow cybernan, wtg!!!
*blush* you are too kind :)
undoubtedly.....but what gorgeous things ?
yes, that was amazing. we were dancing around on a small ledge up a VERY high mountain! and then had to lug the whole rock back down to camp. Palaeontology :)
Fess up, FMitch... what is your specialty?
I dabble Karys, freestyle embroidery and aplique, making cards and the latest is jewelry. Just wish I had more time.
Wow, what a moment, Ata. Dancing on the high tors... sounds as though it should be put to music... LOL
my only real specialty is word games and typing fast, not that that matters in the real world or grand scheme of things, lol
Great Mitch....I have dabbled in most things too !....but nothing recently
It's better than sitting behind the television set all day, CsCdeFounder! LOL
very high tors! we had to climb about 2000 ft each morning to our field sites *sigh* and over 6 weeks I think we brought down about a ton of rock!
I haven't either Karys but Ata has helped kick start me.
then perhaps you could kick start me !!!
I am feeling a twinge of envy, Ata... what an adventure... I bet your muscles were cut and toned at the end of that junket! LOL
*kick*!
anyone want a clue before I get back to my sewing?
LOL I've got ong legs but I don't think I can quite reach.
too bad we can't get paid for word games...then i'd be living the life, lol
*long
omg. I lost so much weight over those 6 weeks. and we ate something like 5000 kcals a day! Soooo much chocolate :)
I need to be 'inspired' !!!
Now that would be fun CsCd
Thanks, nan... I'll poke along...
you need to put some pics up, FM, of your work
cnan - what are you sewing?
hello everyone
Ata...now that sort of diet I could do with....been on steroids for a while and the weight, well.........
hi pink, how you doing?
Yes, second that, Ata, for FMitch... please, FM?
I'm making a dress for our son's wedding -- just have the hemming left to do, but have been putting it off.
ARe you done with all the pearl seeding, too, cybernan? Wow!
oh yeah ... I bet. steroids are hell. *sympathises*
HI, pinkhatlil!
only other real "skill" i have, even though I haven't done it quite awhile is woodburning...used to be real into that years ago
Yes the top is finished and all the beading done.
i have a full tummy so i am good granny....how you doing?
hi scarlet
We should have ababble group photo site with all this creativity flying around
What a huge undertaking, nan... you must be amazingly patient and talented!
thank you Ata....tailing off now, and if the weight tails off too I will be happy bunny, but I don't suppose it will work like that !
me too, just had breakfast...lol
lol -- not so sure about that, Scarlet -- especially the patience part.
Life is art for most of us... isn't that interesting?
I did my daughter's bridesmaids dresses last year
Now that's a lot of work, Karys!
Hi again...a clue for ti7/36 please?
it should do at least a bit, Karys. my best friend is on heavy steroids almost constantly, but if she has a break, she loses a stone or two almost immediately
But, it didn't stop you, nan... *Hugs to the artist*...
I'm just doing my own and my granddaughter's dress (flowergirl)
ti 7/36 - ti + a planet minus s + periodic table symbol for gold
oooh..Ata..thank you, a glimmer of hope there !
Scarlet click on my icon.
Karys, how many dresses? I am in awe of sewing maestros...
Are any of watching the Diana concert?
I am :)
three Scarlet, one adult and two smalls
I am Flask
I am
what do you think so far?
forgot about it, flask!
Not really into the kind of music she liked
Absolutely gorgeous, FMitch... what is that blue stone? Wow!!
So far great, trip down memory lane with Duran Duran
loved Duran Duran...not sure about James MOrrissey...never heard o'him
enjoying it Flask,
you will, karys. steroids make you store water more than normal, so that even if "proper" weight doesn't come off, you nearly always lose that extra weight from water
off to thread the needle -- back at the flip :)
The Diana Concert will be on television tonight, but it's no contest for me... baseball wins every battle... LOL
oh you should watch it.....there's a very wide spectrum of music....even the royal ballet is making an appearance!
bye bye nan
It's just a very pretty glas bead (they all are) Scarlet, have made 3 more different bracelets since that one, which was my first.
'Bye, nan! Happy sewing!
LOL nan, sounds like me !!...bye
hi everyone! : )
hi temp
you can get such *gorgeous* beads nowadays!
happy Canada Day, cnan
Hi TO

hi TO :)
Your first! Knock me over with a feather, FM... beautiful! Flask, Maybe I will have both on... I often turn down the sound on baseball and football games, and blast some operat... amazing how they coincide with motion and E-motion of sports... LOL
CsCde...thanks for the clue!
*opera*
hey rae! long time no see1
yw
hi TO :) how are ya?? (((TO)))
I was mooching around a craft shop and the colours drew me in, so I bought them and started to make it up as I went along in the hope that working with colours again will kick start the embroidery which is my 1st love.
Hi, TO and raelite...
i'd share my woodburning pics with all of you, as i have them in a photo album online, but i can't seem to recall how to get the URL to display the album itself, lol
hey scarlet :D
I could try something like that I suppose, I do like all this beady jewellry
:-)
See if you can dig it out CsCd Karys the fun is that if you don't like it you can break it down and do womething different.
I shouldn't tell you this, FM, but if you want inspiration bead-wise, look on ebay. omg. they have every shape adn size and colour! its amazing!
What are you threading them on Mitch ?
Have to run... daughter dropped in. Have a wonderful day, Babblers and be peaceful!
bye scarlet
Oh don't tell me that!! Actually I have been getting a lot v cheaply from car boots, old earings, broken necklaces etc. Fine chain mostly Karys
bye Scarlet, have a good day : )

za + rodent + caves have stalagt***s
hello everyone
za8 - za + egyptian sun god + opposite of loose (misspelled)
thanks scrabbler. what a word
Hi Brooklyn Annie!
thanks scrabbler
hi annie
does the tr8 build off the tr4?
Yes, a weirdo
wow Scrab, I was still trying to cllue with first name of singer ZA** Leander, anyone know her still?
hi scarlet!, hi Cs
you're from brooklyn?
Hello everyone, I've been lurking and I'm down to my last word...will anyone clue the IN6/33 for me, please?
yes, cs
hi liz
Hmmmm, tr8 has eluded me, along with 74 others--I am finding this grid very tough!!
i used to live there a few years ago, over in midwood (i'm originally from manhattan though, live in PA now)
I am been lurking today but came out to say "hi"
in + breeze, gust
actrually it does, Pigeonman, then add the Irish knit sweater style ****
a few years ago, lol...make that 10 years ago now that i think about it, lol
I know Zarah Leander
Time to log off and leave the office. BBL
A canoe like vessel, Scrabbler.
Cs, I live very close to Midwood and am also originally from manhattan
Aah, my clue would have worked with Erda
i lived over on Ave J and 15th st
Ocean Parkway and Ave Z, Cs
oh ok, i know where you're at then
Inge. Don't have any idea what an Irish sweater is called. But thanks for the clue. :-)
There'
i don't think that's that far from my old high school, James Madison HS...forget the actual street it was on, but know it was close to ave z
oops -- there's a lot of her on iTube...
really!
you're in sheepshead bay then, right?
Madison HS is near Quentin Rd....do you mean Lincoln HS? Cs
Yes, Cs
i did go to madison, but i seem to recall it being near ave z (not quite as far down though)...or at least the city bus i took also went to ave z and maybe i'm confusing it with that, lol
Meanwhile, I can't and can't get the ni5/22 -- help?
Cs, James Madison is on Bedford and Quentin...I used to live on Quentin Rd. when I first moved to Bklyn many years ago
ni 5/22 - ni + a horrible shaquille o'neal genie movie ka***m
Erda, ni 5 uses the large tile
it's been a long time, annie, so maybe i'm just confusing the streets...used to have to take one city bus to glenwood and flatbush ave, i believe, and then transfer over to another city bus to get to madison. I know the 2nd bus went down to ave z, so maybe i'm just mixing the two up
Thanks for the clue. FIREWORKS for me!
wtg liz
got it; thank you
Cs, hate to admit this but I do not know the buses in Brooklyn, moved here when I was 20 years old and was driving then but I certainly did know the train system since in worked in the city
i'm horrible with directions in general, so i could be totally off in what i remember, lol
but speaking of fireworks and brooklyn, lol, that reminds me of a fond 4th of july moment i had when i lived there...
Hi all
Cs, are you going to keep it a secret or are you going to share it with us
me being horrible with directions, i somehow got lost a few blocks from my house and ended up on foster and farragut ave., which really wasn't a place a 14 year old wanted to get lost at back then..this was before cell phones were around, so that was definitely an interesting night finding my way back home, lol
hi minkski
TR 8 & 9 please?
takes me a minute to type it, annie, lol
either of the first two ti7's? They refuse to come out and show themselves.
I don't have either yet pigeonman
tr 8/45, 9/60 (plural) - tr + vowel + opposite of pa + opposite of walking
Thanks. Funny looking sailboats with 3 floats.
or pontoons
ti7's? Anyone?
ti 7----boob + ra 4/4
ti 7/36 - ti + planet minus s + periodic table symbol for gold; ti 7/28 - if your boobs could complain, they would do this, lol; ti 7/28 - if your boobs had a heartbeat and ran on a treadmill, it would show this, lol
Thanks Cs. Got them all.
oooooooooh the first ti7 is another name for the anoa!
yw :)
thanks cs. Took awhile to awaken my memory for the symbol for gold. Gottem though. Thanks again.
CsC, are you under the impression that everything you say is amusing?
well, i wouldn't say everything, but it got quite a chuckle last night from several people when i clued the same thing
but why is it u have a problem with me laughing at what i say? is it infringing upon your rights of not having a sense of humor? gee, sorry to offend you then - see, no lol there...hope u feel better now :)
it is the utterly inappropriate use of constant lol that is grating, and portrays the inverse of what you are attempting to show
don;t worry - be happy.....
twinnneeeeeeeeeee
twinnie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey girlfriend - how by you?
I don't get the clue for the gold, any help?
rennie, i am fine now....all the surgery is behind me
terri - it's the chemical symbol (from the periodic table) for gold (two vowels)
gramma, as in h**t cuisine
oh ok ty muchly
utterly inappropriate? am i cursing here? saying anything dirty? no, i'm not...if it's so inappropriate and people other than u feel that way, then let them tell me and i'll just play the game and won't say anything...either way is fine for me, but as of now, you're the only one i've seen who's said anything about my "lol-ness"
annoe - that is wonderful! wishing you well!!!
errr....that's annie
rennie, thank you! I like annoe...how is your hubby?
he's doing better annie - he;s out of the metal brace now - starts pt next week
rennie, I wish him well!!
lunch is calling
i'll tell him! thanks annie

vhi is showing 1 man playing the electric piano ata
my mother is weird

I think that is what is left of SuperTramp ren and it rather cringe making.

TAg, Skrabbische Erde
Had a relaxing day Haz?
my phantom is SANITY today
We reserved a room at a Bed & Breakfast in the Adirondacks for July, so we are psyched up!
*diving into the grid*
Fairly relaxing - had a couple of folks for lunch, and although I'm non phone duty, not a lot happening.
Tag, Inge--cousin has way more words than me, so I am trying to memorize them
* on phone duty*
Didn't you find 2 people rather filling? *trying to keep straight face*
I just knew as I was typing that it would come out sounding wrong!
didnt you leave any limbs for spangle?
F Mitch, glad you made the comment. I was biting myk tongue wondering how two peoplle would taste
No you were being kind and feeding me a line.
lol inge
i was giggling
Actually inge I should ask why you were trying to eat your own tongue?
Well, you'll be glad to know that I haven't turned all Hannibal Lecter on you. Lunch guests walked away, all limbs intact!
I've become the monkey's friend
Hi, Rennster, is your sis nere too?
only biting it, not eating it
FMitch, its the only way to shut me up
LOL
nope inge - i think she's doing something productive
and to keep me from chatting you have to tie down my hands
Maybe preparing another babblecast - number 6 was very professional, music fading in and everything.
Thats the same as my Mom, tie her hands together and she wouldnt be able to talk. Oh I haven't listened to #6 thanks Haz
good grief, havent heard her bablecasts since # 4. I have trouble getting them to the end.

I bet Max, tho I don't think my grands will get it, I can't wait to see it

fireworks!
yayayay little
hello fellow babblers
well done little.......hello pinkhat
hi ren8
hey pinkhat
hey renfield
its quiet tonight
no-one got any clues for ti7/36 then
the beginning is a short version of a man's name
a bird + consonant + picnic pest
thanks max and pinkhat
a bird + consinant + past tense of consumed
*consonant
lil, i think that's 7/28, not 7/36
the chat fades in and out pinkhat - this is a holiday week for a lot in the us - the news said millions would on driving trips this week
back again....
oh sorry i was just cluing all the 7's
hi lil! and it's CANADA DAY!!!! :-) happy canada day, all!
^ go on driving trips....hey stid!!!
Happy Canada Day!!!!
Hi Stid! Feeling loonie are you?
ok i have heard of Canada Day is it a new thing?
*bops riemann with a beaver tail*
I don't think it's that new...
ti 7/36 = short man's name + 1st vowel + rodent - t + last vowel
hi Stid and Riemann
England was thinking of having a British Day a little while back..not sure of the outcome
i have found the ti7 now thanks everyone
Greetings, ren.
thanks for that Marjetta
I think it's nice to have a day that celebrates the good things of a nation
so did the first math play day happen? was it fun?
it is....it brings out the best in everyone
I is backkkkk, Hi STID!
i love paid holidays
stidmatt sends his love to uncle riemann
this grid is HARD
hi tecno!
yw stidmama
hi riemann...i have never seen you on babble before are you new?

yes it is hard, LMC -- at least it's not also BIG1
riemann is an OLD friend of mine, lil... LOL
The math day DID happen! 24 hours in advance I had ZERO kids signed up. FOUR appeared after my radio spot.
clue for ta6/18 or ta4/4?
thank goodness it is not big
hi everyone. am i nuts, or is na 4/9 a proper noun?
good for you, doing that radio spot... did anyone just wander in after?
hello Dorens
hi dorens! nice pic of the princess!
back again for last 2 words
Careful with the adjectives, Stid. I can mention exact ages to show who is and is not young, and by how much.
it's a curse word dorens
Hi Dorens!
well i agree witih that, ren!
ta6/18 = ta 4/4 + two different vowels
as anyone can see in my profile, I am TEN years old... LOL *sticks out tongue at old perfesser*
which ta 4/4?
Tom says hello also, he and the kids are about to head over to yet another friend's house
the last one
Hmm... I know some StidKids who could make some money babysitting..... *grin*
but since riemann has no children, he is, by definition, not as old as parental-types
LOL true enough, you got me there!
stid i've been admiriing your handiwork with the icons... nice little business you've got going there (unlucrative tho it may be)
Tell Tom and the kids "hi" from me.
ta 4/4 = 1) to get brown, 2) a bird, 3) to pave a road, 4) a pie
oh and speaking of stidkids... *proud mama look* stidkid#2 has been invited to audition for the same orchestra as stidkid#1!
thanks dorens... do you want one?
That's great! Makes for fewer trips in the Stidmobile.
thanks
yw Max
i'd be delighted (not that I was hinting or anything)thanks
mazel tov to stidkid2
okay dorens, I'll work on it a little later and post it in flicker

hey feather
hello Feather
do have a mattress now though.
hey feather.
is the crib finished, feather?
I love to hear them practice together, yes. though the elder is three years ahead in school, so they rarely actually perform the same pieces
well, that's progress at least!
the main part got done last night, still have the drawer to do
stid, when my two started we had a beginning percussionist and a violinist. Thank goodness we lived out in the country.
ha. finally understood the rest of the ta 4.4 clues... thanks!
this pi5, 6 & 7 combo is really annoying, could anyone help please
yw stid
ren8 = pi 6 = hole in the gound + male plural for the 7

poor kid, he'll be 10 years old and we'll still be calling him piercy
renfield, do fish fight?
hehe, that's ok leslie. better than "squirmy annoying blob!" while he's in situ
We have two grandkids here with swains etc. Fireworks tonight. Meantime THEY are getting dinner for US!
yep. and with our luck, he'll look like a percy too -- but feather will want to call him "bruce"
this particular fish go by that name - fighting fish

uh oh - we know what leslie does!
WOW! I just got to halfway... off to grab list
an7 please?
sa6, flo, begins like father Christmas and ends like "to lie" in French
te + super***mp then plural
i realized that sounded bad... a roommate in college had one, and people suggested that... we didn't do it though, b/c it freaks the fish out
santie

yes, very new babies do nurse frequently... but within a couple weeks they usually sleep longer (and their poo smells better without formula) I nursed mine to help them avoid the allergies that are more common in formula-fed babies.
had the others, needed the legal one stid, thanks
sorry been out the room so delayed congrats to Ata
That's what I wanted her to do, but who listens to grammas
feather, he sounds lke my youngest. he was 9 1/2 lbs and constantly hungry
but, each mother has her own criteria for what works. And if it's more convenient to get up and warm a bottle in the middle of the night... (wasn't for me) LOL
Not me either Stid, easier to stick a boob in the mouth
no bottle to wash
oh well... grammas at least can hand the squalling infants back to the mothers when they are fussy! :-) I am SOOOO looking forward to that (in fifteen or twenty years)
gonna call and bug her about it again
sorry -- not being unsociable -- accidentally exited babble, then refreshed to see new icons -- so YAY all who finished!
i loved nursing at night. since he slept with us, i would just roll over, nurse half asleep, and fall right back to sleep. perfect.
hmm, voice mail, she's ignoring me or sleeping
my kids were the healthiest of all my brothers' and sister's and they were the only breast fed. no alergies either

Please, please, all that's left is mi4/6 and I promise I'll sacrifice a fresh unabridged.
I think it was atalante who finshed with no list -- amazing. I use every list available, shamelessly
Hi! This puzzle took me as long as the 330 that we did the other day...
Its in your head Max!!
Max, you're out of your mi**
Jilli, I use all the lists I can.. I just don't have the knack of seeing words like ZA8 automatically... You are not alone!
Fireworks!
Jilli...any of the ma6's please....
Yay, Max!
well done Max!
Max can u clue the 3 x ma6's for me please?
All ma^'s start with the opposite of wo*** (lady) and end with "three times a day" on a prescription, the beginning of a long form of transportation, and t+ two vowels...
the ma6es all start the same -- the 1st ends with the ending of our storytelling friend. The 2nd ends with the beginning of a mouse catcher. The 3rd has the same first 4 letters and 2 voewls
YAY max !!!
wow, Jilli, I like your clues better!
Ah, now there are more cluers -- must do those chores -- back soon I hope
Thanks jai -- fun to have two versions!
Isn't it interesting how we see things differently?
I hope it's helpful and not confusing
Me, too....
Happy Canada Day, BTW!
thanks ladies for your help........yesterdays 330 was easier than this little monster!!!!
F I R E W O R K S for Flask!
I wanted to use a different clue for the ma6/21 but thought it might be too obscure -- just "siren"
I just said that....I would rather have the easy 330 than this sucker....
hoooooooray flask!
sorry -- "siren without end"
YAY Flask!!!
I know......mind..I ALWAYS use the list too.....am just not that clever!!
Hooray, Flask...yeah, siren without end would have been a little obscure, but I used it in a diff way...
the siren clue is more like a cryptic crossword one
am I needed to clue?? I doubt it......its very quiet in here now...
Yes, it is...And I never get those at all...
am5?
I used to do the Brit ones with my Dad

The other secret to patience is learning that God has His reasons....if you don't believe in God, I apologize...

what is pay pal
Sure they are, if you use them as stamps
thanks jellen. got sidetracked, granddaughter had to show me her new crayons and color book
Paypal is a service that allows you to safely pay online if you don't want to give out a credit card/atm card to the person you're paying
how does it workÉ
been using it for years, and other than getting SPAM from people claiming to be paypal it's safe
you sign up, give them either a check, or bank xfer or credit card # with amount of money you want in your account then use your email address as id to pay with.
People use it mainly for EBAY auctions, but there are many other uses
ri5/10 clue?
is your info entered online eg: name address etc
Jelen, ri + picnic pest
only PayPal sees that info, not the person you pay
ty, Zenmed

dr g says use pay pal

i live in chicago - where are you?
ahhh time zone LOL i am east coast. want me to tell you how it ends?
you had it for 6 hours? - it's only scheduled to be an hour here
i could watch a great mystery movie and tell you the ending LOL
we got the entire thing and then some
why? is there something special at the end?
i cry: FOUL!!! NOT FAIR!!!
tee hee hee what's it worth to ya???? wink wink
in + **** beneath my wings for in 6/33
hk--it was six hours on VH1--i didn't watch it, but it was scheduled
I am not watching the hour--watching a recorded Grey's Anatomy...
I used to get the east coast stations here on the west coast, kind of miss it since I'm an early riser
hey
bummer - i didn't know that - i guess we are just going to get someone else's idea of highlights
hi herin!!! good to see ya
Hey Tecno, New grammama
????
if you can watch east coast stations on the west coast does that mean you can know things before they happen? would be great for the lottery
hi, herin
what show are you all talking about?
Hi Jellen
the kid came home and told me how to fix her keyboard
talking about the concert for diana
well, no, just means I watch it when it's happening not 3 hours later!

my washer is calling me
Tecno what is the deal with the new baby?
I dont have time to finish the grid tonight. I have been watching the concert for Princess Diana
it was born
put a gag on that washer, lol
ha ha...a big boy, around 9 lbs, big head, shoulders, she is home and sleepy
great idea helen
wren - what do you think of the concert & the princes?
thank you Jell
aknit - you don't have to tolerate that kind of abuse from appliances, lol
everyone is healthy and happy and unfortunatly, they are in the middle of moving into a differnet house
ok this NI words had to be some word that is only used by one person maybe once in 50 years, lol
perhaps i shall unplug it -- teach it a lesson
LOL
Tecno thats a big bub, hope mum rests well
I didn't like all of the acts, for instance I can't stand Rod Stewart, never thought he could sing! The two Princes put on a good show, though. Of course it was mainly for the young
those princes are sooo cute
do people there love the princes like they loved diana?
congrats tecno
there are an awful lot of really, really young people in the crowd - i am noticing that
hi hk and ak
hi ping
hi, ping
helen i thought that there were a lot of old folk
I think so, Their mother gave them a good understanding of compassion, and tried to give them a taste of an ordinary life, as much as she could
NI word please
i guess we viewed to different versions of the concert
hey pingy
ni word rhymes with shizam !! if you could rhyme a word with that
Didnt see the concert, refused to
i guess it was silly of me to think it would be only an hour - what with all the big names & all
ni + 6pt letter + I ** (you are)
how come herinern?
thank you
ni5/22 rhyms with shazam
in 6/33 please
I didn't watch all of it, but particularly enjoyed the Andrew LLoyd Webber spot

Ok arent we giving more power and money to the same media that feeds the types of people that stalk celebs on a regular bases
hi jane!
well i am off those nagging appliances just won't give up
thank you 12 to go
night all
oops, belated thanks, was busy on phone!
but herinfer, if celebs didn't perform, how would they get to be celebs? who would know them? not sure what you're getting at
ra 6/18 please
don't think I can do this anymore today...will have to try again tomorrow
i'm having no luck with iz words.....
some celebs don't perform, though, right? like paris hilton? or maybe i'm misinterpreting "perform"?
SO being a celb gives the paparazzi the right to stalk and harass someone? My point is that i didnt watch it so the paparazzi could stalk celbs coming and going to the event
goodnight tecno
bye, tecno

ty ping - nice to know i'm not alone, not a popular view
tr 8/45 please
Helen i have to disagree, actors are people that are there for entertainment on screen and not off. No one has the right to be stalked and harassed whilst doing their daily thing
Ok that said sorry i guess we have to agree to disagree. It is interesting to hear/read other peoples point of view
TY Jellen! Finally fireworks. I seem to do better on the smaller ones tho I am getting better. This is good for keeping your brain active.

ok, dresser dilemma: do i spend 350 on a clearance floor model that has some scratches on the front legs, yet is pre-put together and has the nice roller safety stops so the drawers don't pinch fingers, and is 50 lbs tip proof, or do i spend 200ish on one that i have to put together, doesn't have those nice extra features, yet has no scratches?
Do you think you can buff out the scratches?
Feather go put together oh hang on how hard is put together?
can't you get a scratch stick Feather to cover them?
i've never tried something like that before, don't know
feather, can you fill in the scratches with minwax stick?
i think i have to recheck my periodic table
do those things really work?
first ti5/12 clue, please?
You can fix the scrathes, no problem. I like the safety features, feather.
What sort of wood can scratches comeout? I would go $350 on put togther for you peice of mind
i HATE putting a dresser together. seems like 5,000 screws to put in for each rail.
Feather what sort of wood is it?
TO, ti***ure of iodine
We have cherry and oak furniture and the cover sticks works great
is the 150 bucks worth the frustration?
umm...oak? not sure, brb, i wrote notes on it at the store
I have heard of superficial scratches being rubbed out, yes
ty dawg, taht sneaky sucker was hifding quite well!
if you have children, I would ask which is of more importance....a few scratches on the dresser or a squashed child under a tipped over dresser? :)
If the scratches are sufface then use cover sticks also bees wax polish works a treat when polishing up
ok it's a childcraft dresser, "sierra" 5 drawer honey pine
Pine simple cover sticks
(besides, if you have children there will be scratches in the unscratched dresser soon enough....) :)
White fingernail polish may work well on the scratches, especially if they are near the bottom and not real noticable.
I would go for the put-together one...
he's already pulled daddy's dresser down on top of himself! so it'd be nice to have a safer one for hte new baby's room. daniel's is a pretty good one in his room too
Hey feather if you wanna hang on i can call my old man hes a chippy
old english makes some rubbing stuff - or you can use some putty wax for the scratches
my deal is, will i be ok paying a bigger price for one i love, and be able to be ok with the scratches. hmm.
oops, for some reason I thought it was a white dresser.
it's gonna get scratched feather
can you barter for the price to be lowered on the scratched one?
nope, it was already lowered from 399 to 350
I am going to call my Dad he knows what to day
opps to do
k, thanks herin!
hey has anyone seen woulf lately?

yes herin, it is. that was with a 200mm focal length. was very difficult for me, as i'm not used to doing night pics! thus the blurry plane.
oh its very nice just saw it online, think i may need a private moment
lol herin!
i LOVE it. am so glad i spent the moolah on it.
I would love a professional dig cam but the cash is lacking
it was my christmas present 2 years ago, the nice new lens was this year

that tiger pic you have of mine was taken with it
Is it a EOS dig cam XTI?

it's fab. zero complaints.
i did a lot of research before i bought.
lu, my dad has the d50 - i covet it!
thanks
unfortunately i brkoe it whne i borke my hand last fall
Still worth it though, thats what i was the range i was looking at paying for my slr film many many many years ago
or all the other canadians are not as slow and finished the grid:)
Luw owweees
oh no! how's the camera? (ok, and the hand too...)
it's been fixed (insurance) but has not been the seame
now i'm agonizing over a printer. canon or epson.
dang. that stinks.
I have a canon, sucks ink, still you are better off using store printing
sending it back to the shop
hard to say Tim. the canadian contingent is awful smart!
yeah, but i don't use it. they sit on my computer.
feather, my dad doesn't like epson - he likes hp i think
i have an hp scanner and my son has an epson
some of them:)
he had a canon before that
need something that will print nice at home, or they'll never get printed.
I like them both
epson scans negatives
our son and we have a HP
tr8, 45 trim......
well, i'm a little partial to canon as that's my camera, and i have the epson picture mate and it's putting lines on the pics.
i'm looking at photoprinters rather than all in ones
i have been pleased with the quality of both
Ok Feather i am using a canon Pixma MP170
btw thanks ibdawger good clue
katn not a full cut just a tr**+ first vowel + jogged very fast (past tense)
do the canons do nice 8x10s?
ty lbdawg...it finally showed itself right after I asked :D
ty dawg
i've been uploading to snapfish and picking up the prints at the drug store - pretty simple
plural for the 9 katn
I know that the pics are nice
it's always nice to get discs of your pics...my brother in law just got his laptop stolen...lost the last 6 months of photos, including his son's 5th birthday party
hmm. i have everything uploaded on shutterfly. i could actually order prints from them too, lol
feather, your printer may need it's heads cleaned or adjusted
Hang on one sec feather
this chat moves alot faster than what i am used to for the past 5 yrs or so i am used to one on one or maybe three ppl at most
ohhhh, never thought of that, duh. ty dawg
i think target now has a partnership with shutterfly, feather - is that convenient?
http://www.canon.com.au/products/all_i n_one_printers/all_in_one_printers/mp1 70.aspx
ohh, i love target...
i do both - i lke to play with croping and light on my computer but sometimes i just like to order them
lol, this ain't nuthin tim! i've seen it faster!
tim the chat can fly by really fast especially when folks are finished and just visiting, or we get a stoopid troll
feather
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/cont roller?act=ProductCatIndexAct&fcategor yid=118
This is the PHoto printers
:)
trolls are people too :)
what's a troll
lol
ok, just got teh first one copied and pasted

Trolls are annoying individualls that come in and say stupid things
tim, an online heckler
trolls are creatures that come on the chat and dont' want to play the game, are often rude and we try to feed them to nut
this is my second night on here...seems like a nice group...and I'm getting addicted to this *^%$( game

Thanks LB
hey hey ping
Kat, this is a nice group of folks, helpful, fun and funny. also some really talented folks here too.
i was swearing a lot at the grid earlier. did not enjoy it today.
13 left still no list
Feather ... you swore? :)
and as you can see, a nice place to come hang out for reasons other than babble! i'd finished the grid ages ago, am just here shooting the sh4/5.
it could be either Tim, i'm noticing a lag in posting too
it seems harder
hehe, i slowed you down, sorry herin!
Ha ha eather
dang skippy i did!
Feather i am hunting using more wwords
today's was small, but infuriating with all the bizarro words
Mom i grew up near Cincinnati - in indiana
lol Feather
i had a friend introduce me to this after I beat him too many times at Literati on Yahoo
there's sometimes a slight lag on chat, but usually not too much. no more than 5-10 seconds.
I think this was his revenge :P
Handy first time hint, if you think its not a real word still enter it as chances are it is :)
tim are you using the babble expert by lickety?
yep. try everything.
no
tim - if you are not using bable pro - e-mail lickety and ask him for it
ok, i want to go put the bedding together on the crib. got the mattress earlier today, wahoo
you should email lickety and get the beta 11 babble expert. it's really a cool tool
definitely should try it, tim!
brb
Yah feather
it is too compicated for my small brain:)
and when you do, look in the "resources" button for the user guide! explains features.
any clues for the z?
but i did go on lickities page to view rules and tips for understanding clues it helped alot
Tim it has taken me a year to reach this level
before i go, herin, WHAT is your icon pic?
Me turned upside down. I was snoozing on the couch at a role playing convention. I turned myself upside down as its the only way to finish a grid, upside down
Pam za 8/65 ... girl's name that starts with a S (no body doesn't like **** Lee) change the s to a z + one boob + vowel

carra, clue for you, not ping (sorry ping!)
i'm stuck on the sa6, anyone??
sa 6 = st nick - last vowel + to go in spanish

i know people who use it to mean restorers as well, Gwen...I own a used bookstore
never heard anyone use it that way, but then i came out of the publishing biz, where it means a certain type of editor
katnip, where be your store?
my store be in the Triangle area of North Carolina :P
haha thanks finally ping i clued in
clue for ri 5 please?
I just started creating altered books, which is another way you could take the term "book doctor". Sorry to jump in on the conversation unannounced
hmmm, i was in NC once -- it's a bit of a drive for me
six years of being independently poor...it's wonderful :)
hmmm, haven't altered a lot of books, either. and the ones i edited were never big sellers 8-(
i love altered books, ballet
yw tim
ballet, do you have pix online??
what kind of books do you edit?
I've always thought that editing books would be quite a fun job
it's fun, so long as the boss isn't a slightly more human version of Voldemort
i've been to ashville nc
I have a couple pictures of my first page on my blog: www.inkblotcookiecrumbs.blogspot.com
Had any Voldemort-esque bosses?
i'll look it up, ballet
asheville is beautiful ping...did you go to Biltmore?
there's an altered books website that i like
katnip, i specialized in pop culture, pop reference, and humor. no longer an editor, except for two titles i self publish
not inside biltmore, just outside
i have a voltomore boss now
wow! self-publishing! what a large workload that must be...
my boss when i worked for a publisher was yes, voldemort-esque. but he had a NOSE at least LOL
i like asheville a lot
aww poor tim, sounds like you need to find a new job (or at least get rid of that awful boss)
cool Gwen :) sounds like fun
or maybe mine is more like the devil who wears prada
visiting ballet's page . . . back in a sec
does anyone know ri 5?
but she really wasn't so bad... just doesn't think the way you or I would about life
I've gotten to meet some nice people the last few years....no huge authors...but people like Brian Keene, Margaret Maron, David Drake
ri+ picinic pest
why thank you gwen! I love when people visit my blog... I just started.
i will visit after i finish, ballet
aww... thanks!
i post altered pages on my blog sometimes - it's called big window

Hi, all. How's it going?
hello jellen - good - how are u?
okay i'm back. nice book, inkblot! and i share your passion for furniture full of drawers, too 8-)
well looky there, ping. I love the concept behind your site at first glance... My blog is much the same, just the little things I like in life. It sounds like you must put beautiful things on your site... delightful!
Fine. Just been wasting brain cells on old tv shows.
oh great! I just love lots of small drawers...
yes, it's all stuff that i love
te 5/10 not cry plurl ?
te 5 is a prefix meaning 4 i think

? ballet

does anyone have ma 7/36 please?
cool, gwen
I haven't quite gotten to the big ones yet... don't believe I'll finish today
ma 7/36 = french word for coat
tim, prefix for 4. if you have played that video game where you stack up falling blocks, you have most of the word
ma7= a Frence cloak; male + cross + French for water.
i am so bummed that "manrat" is not a word
ma7 last two syllables of the term for a "suitcase" word
lol kat
manrat is a perfectly good word, just not in Babble-land
im bummed that santa is not in the dictionary, next thing you know they will be telling me he doesnt exist :)
It's very descriptive, manrat is.
I keep trying to enter irate into the grid for some reason. I do realize that the i does not connect... hmm..
finally got the tr 8/9 looked in archives tr8= 3 +short for mother + past tense of faster than walk (plur for 9)
ty jellen and gwen
i'm sure i have met some manrats. in fact i worked for one once LOL
lots of book folk here tonight
ballet, that's called a "phantom word" when you keep seeing it in the grid but it doesn't work
i too have a blog but it's really, really lame. no pix!!
http://bookdoctorgwen.blogspot.com/
yes, I had forgotten that term! I haven't been chatting on babble for quite a while. It distracts me from working on the grid, so I just stopped.
jellen, howya doon?
ooh, I will look it up, gwen.
don't get too excited, ballet!
Okay, Gwen. Not great, not bad.
could you clue the first in 5/12 - stumped am i

ti 7 = breast (ti*) + yell like crazy
in + Babbler Horton + indef. article.
ma6 = preying insect, change last letter to diff consonant

Good books? American Facists- Thre Rise of the Christian Right by Chris Hedges. He is probably one of the most eloquent journalists around today.

Also: Incredibly Loud and Extremely Close by Jonathan Safran Foer.
visiting ping's other blog . . .
ping....just general recommendations, not knowing what really gets you....My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult, The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.....
thanks, g
oh, i've been curious about jodi picoult
never read her
te 5/6
mysteries....I would say anything by Margaret Maron if you like cozies, Tess Gerritson if you like medical, John Sandford, Greg Iles or John Lescroart if you like detailed characters
super blog. much better writing than most so-called bestsellers, i'll wager
No, it merely points out that the Christian Right has Facist tendences. There is a great intro taken from Umberto Eco's definitions of facisim.
thanks, gwen
if you like fast paced plot and less characterization....(not my fav, but...) I'd say anything by Dan Brown, Lee Child, Stuart Woods, or James Patterson
te5, that's T plus past tense of eat (2 letters, regionalism) + what cheerleaders shout when they run out of real words
thanks, kat - i don't know any of them
now there's a shocker. the christian right, whcih is all about authority and control, has fascist tendecies. !!! 8-)
i'm like you, kat - prefer character to plot
if you just want blowaway amazing writing I'd stick to Jodi Picoult or Audrey Niffenegger....Time Traveler's Wife I read, cried for 20 minutes, and then started reading it over again right away
i like the bbc mysteries on tv, for example
cool - thanks so much
np :) i love my books :P
So do I, ping (like bbc mysteries)
I also strongly recommend "War is a Force that Gives us Meaning" written by the same author.
i recently sold a wonderful used book written for kids that explains the difference between "rules" and "principles" which is essentially the difference between right-wing nuts and liberals
What was it called?
prime suspect and wire in the blood are my faves, jellen
i'm down to 3 and I think I'm stuck :P oh well
god, title is Maybe Right, Maybe Wrong: A Guide for Young Thinkers, by Dan Barker
Chris Hedges?
Yes!
I've got ti7,36 and both ti7,28 words left
kat, if you want clues you still have 20 minutes before the board vanishes into history!
ti + cross letter + ra 4
ti + Red Planet (1st 3 letters) + the German word for wife or Mrs. is Fr**
that's the scream your head off clue from before
ti7 = breast (3 letters) + S + picnic pest
also there is a ti + cross letter + a different ra 4
ti7 = breast (3 letters again) + thumbs up or down is one way to **** a movie
