Thanks, lickety!

thanks lick..hows mr P?
Thanks, Lickety! How's mrp holding up?
flipping late
what is up with mrp?
wow, that was fast lickety, thanks
Hey all, mrp had her operation, and there were no complications, but due to the fact that they cut and grounded a big chunk of her right humorus, she's on lots of pain meds and
Think
owww. give her hugs from us
Hi dilly and flosey
j's done
hi, jilli
hi jilli
She can't use her right arm, and her left one has antibiotics and meds going in, so she's struggling. She's so spaced out too. She wanted to send her love to you all and thanks everyone.
and hug mrp very gently, please!
what happened? did she break arm or?
love and prayers with you all lickety
It seems i have perfect timing. Please gently hugs the Pres for me
awww....really hope she feels better soon!!
multiple doses of love are being wafted in her direction from all of us here
Not really thinking! Off to read the paper before bedtime - nite all.
g'night, dilly
night dilly
kierlex - she's got bone infection - something that could have been eating away her bone for the last 18 years even. This is her 4th operation over the last 7 years, and it's not really a fix - just trying to ease the constant pain.
kier -- mrp has had osteomyelitis for quite a long time and needed surgery to try and get rid of it -- is that right, Lickety?
flips
night dilly
Thanks for letting us know Lickety.

I think so too
not damn soon enough. I will be home in aobut 2hrs

Stid Mr Pres Right arm was opperated on and the left is full of happy pain killers and anitbiotics
:-) I am going to be optimistic that the pain will subside quickly...
woo-hoo! got a 7!
think they are going for the high as a kite method of pain relief
hi all
whatever works, right lady? still, if she's anything like me, the doped up bit is only minutely better than the pain. I hate things that take my brain away from my body.
hi, girlie
hi girlie
hi Girlie.
Think id have high as a kite.
Could someone clue co8/50, please?
woot so close to home time
okay, thanks for the update. I am about to fall into my keyboard, it's so late...
see you-all tomorrow! :-)
g'night, stid. sleep well
night stid -- me too going to sleep -- see you soon :)
co 8 is a plural of co 7 which is a strange vowel extension of co 6
morning all
hi, sprite!
Hi sprite
and the co 6 is co 4/6 + not out
hi spritey!
and the co6 is. . .?
Boker Tov Sprite
hi sprite
sorry. got the 6
exactly, jellen - lol!
ty, ARB!
Fireeworks
so the operation went well and mrP has come out of it ok? I am so glad! And no, being doped up isn't always great, but a helluva lot better than in terrible pain. Bone pain sucks big time.
woot ARB!
Congrats, ARB!!!
there are 4 co6 words and I have one of them
YAY arb!!!
jilli, think cryptography
ARB, beautiful clue was that, got them all
Or mispelled pain medicine
misspelled (misspelled it!!!)
"ladette" was not found in the dictionary
ok im going home. Pink i should be online in a bout 1hr
Hi everyone too
ok herin
see you all soon
ok, got the pain stuff -- working on the ret but so sleepy...
pink, that is a crime. What else to call a small lady?
rest, I mean (yawn)
bfn herin
in england ladette means a girl who acts like a man
bye herin
ah, did not know that, pink, thanks :) Even worse then that it is not valid.
no way is li5.14 a word!! that's amazing!
ah, monkey found the co7 & 8 -- here's a banana
now I need to find li5/14 to understand why it is amazing...
wooot for monkey, jilli!
its not that amazing, sprite LOL. just a big pussycat
li5/14 is a two-cat combo
hm, mine claims to be cargo thrown into the sea... must be another one...
noooo dont throw the pussycats into the sea!
I could never be that cruel, even if they let me!
thanks to Ata I have it now... AND the cargo one :)
Goodbye all and happy babbling! Sleep calls. . .
night Jellen, sweet dreams
goodnight Jellen sleep well#
A couple of Balanchine related words, Sprite
*puts on intelligent face and agrees with ARB*
wish I could stay awake but I can't -- night all -- babble well
what does Balanchine mean ARB
ballet, pink
only Balanchine I know is the choreographer... the happy dance choreographer.
thanks jilli
sprite said a wooord
well at least he did happy da5/14s!
oooohhh so sorry! Didn't have it yet, but I know, that is no excuse.... *off to the penalty box in hope of nice goodies*
I want the french feminine form of the big cat to be valid :(
yes, that would be lovely
oooh but i've just found a word with that ending!
oh wow! *goes hunting*
me too, ata -- sprite, you can come out of the penalty box
very proud of myself, its an american word I had *such* trouble with last time it was here
ah, thanks jilli, that is so sweet *quickly takes another bite before leaving the penalty box*
you may take the goodies with you, sprite - lol
now, bed for me -- bye -- *poof*
night jilli, sweet dreams to you!
ooohhhh I found te8... don't think it has ever been in a grid, lol, though very common everywhere.
its short form is in a lot though!
oh yes, it is. Just this form is not been in before, I think.
im going back to bed, 66 left to find ttfn
night pink
Morning all
morning Liz
ah there is life!!! Morning Sprite
barely, lol, but enough to make you feel welcome, I hope :)
half asleep still myself lol
*big grin*
Are you in The Netherlands Sprite?
I am, Liz, 20 minute's drive from Amsterdam
I've only been to Amsterdam once but I absolutely loved it
I have lived there, but to be honest I am glad we don't live there anymore. But to visit, yes, I still love Amsterdam :)
I could quite happily have packed my bags and moved there in an instant. It just seemed such a friendly happy place
there is of course a lot of crime and littering, as in every big city. But Amsterdam has an atmosphere of friendliness indeed, and it is always lively. People who are born there te4 to be open and always ready for a joke or two.
and it has a Ben and Jerry's shop that sells their mint choc icecream ...
Well, I'm certainly envious of you!!!
lolllll yes, that is true!
LOL Ata, Morning to you!
Liz, you are welcome to come visit again whenever you want!
got to get the important things right!
I will be doing
when the kids are older
I love the City Hall in Amsterdam, its sculptures and paintings of the Greek and Roman gods are *incredible*
be sure to let me know, Liz!
Youve got a few years...my youngest is only 1
city hall? think so, can't remember its proper name!
Do you mean the Rijksmuseum?]
lots of good architecture in Amsterdam indeed. I am feeling so proud, lol... great that you love our big city :)
no! its not any museum ... *looks up a map of Hamsterjam*
Hamsterjam :D
Its a beautiful place Sprite
morning folks, how is everyone today? :D
Morning Fish
hi Fish, pretty ok considering! And you?
yes! the Town Hall :) I remembered rightly
Good morning all! Has anyone heard how MRP is doing?
Fish, at least its warm enough to go out in my sa 6/21 's today lol
Nonnie: I heard the op went ok and she is being kept under severe painkillers for now.
Oh, OK...thank you, sprite. Bless her heart!
da4,7 da 6 21 and da5,12 please
oh, i'm fab - had a couple of days away in london, went to see the Lord of the Rings musical - i've booked the rest of the week off.
oh what was it like?
I'm in a quandary today. I have 90 pages left of my book I'm reading...do I finish it today and last tomorrow without a book while awaiting Harry Potter on Saturday, or do I try and make it last???
do tell, Fish! How can that be made into a musical?
Liz... depends! Do you have something else nice to do in the meantime?
I'm a reading addict Sprite! LOL Books are the 'something nice'
annoying celebrities?
ROFL ROFL ROFL Ata, especially ex pop stars perhaps?
finish the book today, start another one tomorrow, then read HP, then finish that one
I think thats probably what I will do Ata, only I'll try and read fast so I can finish and new one in just the one day
Liz, same goes for me, but I have other hobbies too, lol. I have ordered HP too. Any other unread books then? Or one that deserves being reread... like my yearly date with LOTR?
yup! you're like me, you have to have a book or 2 on the go!
absolutely
I'm reading The Testament of Gideon Mack at the moment - loving it
same here... at least 1 book per holiday day... makes for heavy luggage :)
Sprite I have heaps of books waiting to be read - afraid I can't pass a shop without buying at least one (but I do have other hobbies too lol)
I'm reading a book I've been trying not to read because I was sure I'd hate it - Perdido Street Station by China Mieville. He has such a pretentious name
it is amazing we still get other things done, isn't it!
oo haven't tried that one
yes sprite especially with babble here waiting too
and do you like it, Ata?
I *love* it. I dont normally like sci-fi, industrial type things, normally I hate them. But this is beautiful
does anyone here knit?
I used to Sprite but I dont have enough hands to hold the book and read at the same time
my mom used to sort of
my moms asleep because its way late here
I knit while watching tv, usually. I have a problem with a new pattern. I need to start with 6 stitches, one stitch per needle, to start a round pattern. I cannot see how I can start knitting on needles though!
Afriad I must go...dogs are whining to go walking and the sun is shining plus my baby girl needs to get out and about. See you all later - great chatting to you
has anyone tried that some time?
Liz, sounds like a great day ahead. Enjoy and thanks for the great company.
Sprite my other half watches the tv and I read (I dont share his choice of programmes!) LOL
sprite what time is over there?
See you all later then have fun *poof*
almost 10 am here, SA
sprite, there are some knitters on here in our evenings, usually
but I wanna knit today! *stamps feet*
sprite what time is it over there?
Sudokuaddict, I just answered your question!
oh sorry i didnt see it my bad its late
np :)
well im going to leave i need some sleep
you will probably talk to my mom tomorrow
enjoy the sleep, SA, and sweet dreams
or later whatever
thanks i will
you too
later
well, i have to admit sprite i wasn't looking forward to it but i promised my best friend i'd go - it was fantastic!! less of a musical and more of a theatrical production. It was truly magical, would recommend it to anyone (apart from the giant spider scene *shudder*)
wow Fish, would never expect that! Thought it would be impossible to create that atmosphere in a musical.
i cannot begin to explain how brilliant it was and i was very sceptical of it... even before the show starts, the hobbits are on stage trying to catch fireflys but they're too high up so they get bigger and bigger nets. They put them all in a jar and throw them into the curtain (which is made up of a giant ring surrounded by wood-like trees) some fly through and some fly round the theatre - it was that good i nearly cried!
wow Fish! In that case... I might go myself! Is it suitable for kids too?
probably older kids (10+) i'd say, as the orc's were a little frightening and I'm a terrible self-confessed arachnaphobic and had to not watch for a bit when the giant spider was on stage
wonderful! Thanks Fish, will keep this in mind!
fireworks
well done sprite - i've only just started myself
argh, I hate the movie today. I cannot see fun in people hurting themselves.
Sprite - I am a knitter but this sounds outside my limits!!
it is just the start I cannot get done, lol. I have the 6 stitches on the 6 needles, but I cannot get them round enough to start knitting!
I think I have watched my Gran do that and it was very tight to knit
ah, a friend just says why not start on 3 needles first, and distribute over more on4 you have more stitches
6 stitches on 6 needles?? are you knitting a jumper for a bug?
LOLLLLL no it is a poncho. It is knitted in the round, you start at the center of the back. It is SO beautiful!
6 needles *collapses* I can't use 2 needles!
oh, sounds lovely, but 6 needles? sounds terribly confusing! I can just about cope with two and pearl stitch
hello everyone. Please a clue for that go5/16, the one after the city in India, and before Him. Thanks.
Him + latin for and or too
thank you Sprite.
it has 3 different patterns, and you repeat the patterns on each needle. Later on you can put it on a circular needle if you want, but you have to mark the begin stitches then. It is a lovely lovely poncho. I really hope I am good enough to make it :)
see now what you need Sprite is one of the needles that has a hard point at both ends but a flexible joining/bit. One needle to use - not 6!
lol yes lynxxx... but that does not work in the beginning, with only 6 stitches!
Hello everyone - but goodbye, I was just seeing how much I have to find after I get home after a night out. Any news from Lickety? I caught up on his chat last nite.
I finished a poncho about 3 weeks ago but it was knit on 4mm needles and was very straightforward
i've never finished anything i've started knitting
lol nor me fishbulb
this is on 4mm as well, and not straight but round, LOL. I'd love to make it... hope I can!
ooh roo! catch you all later
bye lynxxx
bye lynxxx have a good one
I am off too, a little sudoku and then to the doctor. Have a great day or night or whatever, all of you. *hugs*
bye for now sprite *waves*
bye dear!
Good morning/evening all.
you're lucky haz, you've just missed Knitting Talk
hello all
morning haz
Oh, knitting talk is okay. I can knit. Not coloured stuff, but I can do aran.....
ahhhh :) didnt know if knitting was included in the S topic
Knitting needles are non-taboo!
Walks through the door and faints. Morning all. Sorry I thought Haz said she knits?
LOL they are too big to stab oneself with unwittingly
yes, I thought I heard that too!
Yes, indeed - my knitting featured in my school teacher daughter's Christmas play. A blanket knit on HUGE needles.
Ahh yes I had forgotten that Haz.
But it's been a while since I knit anything wearable. You get out of the habit somehow.
awww I have a little warm Hobbit nose on my foot
Did you know that if you bounce your digital camera onto a hard surface from less than a foot up it won't work anymore? *sobs*
I might have guessed that it would happen... Poor FMitch, what a nasty thing!
um yeah, I discovered that very thing recently
Not a happy bunny as I was just getting to grips with it again. Oh well... Pulls self together *sob*. Happens to all the best people then Ata :)
everyone does it once ...
No chance of getting it repaired?
its just a sign that you need a bigger and btter camera!
Hello everyone....if certain people had not got other certain people invovled with beads and things, then the latter certain people might have more time to spend with chat and such !!!!
LOOOOOOL :)
No warrenty left Haz and would love to Ata but not in budget at the mo. Anyway enough of that, can you believe 14 vowels in the grid!!!! LOL Karys
I can see Karys' fingers pointing in all sorts of directions.....
All my spare cash is now boxed in pretty colours !!
woohooo :)
Ohh you got it bad Karys!!! I have same boxes of pretty colours and sparkles calling my name from the shelf.
you'll be amazed, fm, at how cheap decent digital cameras are. so when you do get some budget, you should be able to get a lovely one!
But I do need to say 'thank you' to the certain people, since I am enjoying myself enormously, and keep telling myself that what I am doing is all for Christmas prezzies.
look on ebay fmitch you can pick up a good camera off there if you are willing to get up for a auction that finishes early
And will your husband like his beads?
and its so much cheaper making pressies than buyying them! so really you're saving money :)
I am glad you are enjoying it so much Karys. Hi j-m
We are dreadful, we could justify anything if we put our heads together :)
Think I might do Worry Beads for him Haz !!
He probably loves you enough to wear beads, just to make you happy!
hi fm sorry about your camera hun! I have a minolta that my hubby bought me years ago and i would be devastated if I broke it
Now if I could the scanner working I could send pictures to Mitch for approval ( or not, as the case may be !)
Don't think he loves me quite that much Haz ! but I have just forgone a meal out on Sunday night because of the Golf !!
You are a good wife.
Do try Karys that would be great, would so love to see. I was taking pics of the ones I have made when the "accident" occured.
( you need a 'get' in there somewhere, just feel free to fill in the blanks)
was she not in The Canterbury Tales ?
fm, was the camera expensive? if so you can claim off the ouse insurance for something like that
*house
Thats a good idea jakes, we pay enough to them don't we
Hmm han't thought about that j-m thanks for the idea.
exactly!, we did when my son threw his dads camcorder down the stairs 4 years ago
*sigh* can I be sad for a moment? seeing as we're on broken cameras and stuff. I spoke to one of my husband's best friends last night. He's such a lovely man, I'd do anything for him. He's always had a few issues with alcohol and drugs, but now his business has gone under, and he's depressed, alone, and "officially" an alcoholic and drug addict, though thank goodness only cannabis and cocaine, not heroin or anything truly truly awful. as if coke isn't bad enough lol
oh yes, good idea, j-m
and chris' mum claimed for when the freezer broke they paid for a new one and £200 for the food inside
husband here says yes you can Mitch
Sad story Ata, I have one to add, one of my friends lost her husband on Friday.
Yes, you can be sad, Atalante - your friend has a lot of problems.
oh karys and ata that is so terrible (hugs to both)
I just wish I could do something more to help him, its awful watching the equivalent of a slow-motion train wreck
LOL thank you to Karys's hubby. Sorry about your friend Ata, such a vicious downward spiral. I do hope he will find a way out.
You are doing something Ata..you are there for him !
I know, Atalante, but you're only qualified to be his friend, he needs professional help with the addictions etc.
so do I, I just don't think he will. He enjoys drink and drugs too much *big sigh* and refuses to take help. Well, maybe one day we'll get through to him
Unfortunately with addiction there is very little that anyone can do until he has decided enough is enough. Depression is aggrevated by alcohol and any meds he might be offered would be counteracted. Very hard but if he has the strenght he can come through it.
until he decides he needs help all you can do is be his friend ata, I had a friend following that path, luckily she did come round and is now a mum, but it's horrible to watch and know you can't stop them
g'day all
hi rmcc!
Hello rmc.
Good morning rmc
Hi rmc
have you lot finished the grid?
Only just started rmc !
not me :-(
Some of the early birds might have, I certainly haven't.
at the moment, he flown home so his family can look after him - actually, he comes from very close to you Haz, so watch out for drunken people staggering around muttering about how he can't be a lawyer any more!
hey, jakes-mum, how is that poor little bub from next door?
But the streets are full of people like that, Atalante. Does he wear a carnation or anything?
no crying last night so hopefully he has settled down
Got to go and shop... back later
bye karys
hmmmm, no. maybe he should do.
Bye beady one :)
and you? did you catch up on some sleep last night?
I was out for the count until 9am!! I was tired
If he's anywhere in the town he'll be in William Street. Something like 8 pubs in the one street.
you poor thing! there's nothing like being preggers and no sleep.
8! wow, so its true that all irish men do is drink? :P
feel better today though, a good sleep always makes me feel better
how long to go now, jakes-mum?
No - some of them like a few drinks, that's true. I don't know why there are so many pubs on the one street, but it makes pub-crawling easier I suppose.
only at 14 weeks (sigh) long way to go, though according to the books i'm now coming into the "blooming" stage where everything is lovely (no sign of it yet)
lol, haz. is crawling the operative word?
After 8 oubs, definately!
I imagine some stag nights start at one end and work their way up the street, with taxis waiting at the other to get them home safely.
i bet you're gorgeous! i just love preggies.
hubby keeps telling me i'm lovely (which is his job lol) I think he remembers what I was like the last time when he left me at home to go to the pub and I convinced myself he was embarassed to be seen with me!!
* sigh* those were the days.
stuck, here, with 4 to go. any takers for clues?
You remember me talking about the 'traveller' families who live in the town? A few years ago one of the grandparents died and the funeral was delayed until all the relatives could get there from all over the place. William Street was permanently parked up with vans and lorries while serious drinking was done. Eventually the women of the clan went to the priest to declare that they were running out of money, and the funeral needed to happen soon. The priest was dispatched off to all the pubs to declare that the funeral was going to happen in the morning and to get themselves home to get sober!
* giggle, *
any j clue going?
LOL
What a tale! Can you write a script for TV adaptation? Haven't been your literary agent for a while :)
jo5/20, ankle or knee
it is the same in Bangor, the North Wales variety. Nearly every pub is in one street
ty rmcc that brings me up to 5!
makes it easy for the student pub crawls
There are tales galore about this particular family. Their funerals and weddings are something to behold. Have you ever seen a wreath done in the shape of a Bailey's bottle, for instance?
extend and contract, the word, not your belly.
Nooo!!!!
ok up to 6 now
they really do need a soap opera about them. the Dingles x 10!
lol haz, you've got to be kidding!
Yes, indeed. A bottle shaped frame, silk crysanthemums in the brown colour, a scanned label, blown up and attached. The height of good taste.
That would be a great opening shot, camera pans away, fades out and the story starts.
AND , and I kid you not, it's tradition for them to leave a six pack of beer at the grave.....
Irishman fall into 2 categories: Tea totters or drinkers no middle ground. And funerals have two sorts Catholics and Prodisents Typically Catholics drink more and are louder. Prodisents more uptight
how long before someone steals it and drinks it?
right I must go to work (i'm getting later and later you bad lot with your chat!) or i'm going to get shouted at
clue pls, an6/21?
That's the thing, Atalante, you wouldn't want to fall foul of this particular group, the beer stays for ages.
roaring with laughter, can hardly type...
ouch!
so are they the local hitmen too?
an6/21 an+golf item+consonant
With the misspelling they are probably titmen Ata
No, not so much hitmen as territorial about their things and their people. They keep themselves to themselves - mostly!
do they have a pack of straggly dogs?
rosalind, thanx, have that one. it's the first 6/21 i need
They even have a different accent to the rest of the town. And they look the same.
they really *are* the Dingles!
nm, got it. da5/12 pls?

Sorry, phone there. They are a tribe, there's no doubt.

it certainly is loredana... not such a bad thing really ;) oh granny, that sounds beautiful! I LOVE birds
have three different types of them, they're beautiful and fun to watch

we have 3 feeders for the other birds and they seem to come around the same time every day....like they know we gonna feed them!
they are so beautiful, we currently have a beautiful little bird that keeps visiting us, i'm not sure what it is, looks a little like a sparrow but has pale orange plumage on his chest - he's such a cutie and always comes down really close when i'm in the garden :D
they do Granny if I am late with their feed they are inside the house or waiting at the door

Canadian bacon? what did I miss
look at Fish's profile
My icon today for the theme
wooohoooo Its Canadian bacon for me then LOL
actually, the exchange rate is quite good for us these days...
me too!!!
oops raelite *blush* I just googled "Canadian" to get the pic - no offence meant. :)
none taken! we are of good humour in the great white north ;)
excellent stuff! it did make me chuckle though, i like the reasoning behind it - its the same reasoning that makes me believe that wine = made of grapes therefore one of my '5 a day' chocolate = from a plant, therefore healthy!
howdy folks
and don't believe rae about Canadians -- they're an angry, petty people
hello takuma
:D
;)
Golly gosh and O gee--just joined the site and found myelf (along wth Jilli, Flosey and other Canadians) the theme for the day.
hello
but I didn't know we were an angry petty people.
where do you find the themes??
hello harp and hetty
heh - oh yes, indeed!
Hi Takuma, Hetty & Harpjane. I always found Canadians rather lighthearted and with a wicked sense of humour
o gee I had no idea it was canadian theme day
Hi GrannyM
hello all who just came on :)
(I was teasing ;) )
I should put up a skookum icon, maybe of a toque or chesterfield.
my pennys worth i have known at least twenty canadians and love them all wonderful people but we all know taku was teasing
Hi everyone. You've done well on our behalf, rae. I guess this is the theme today because tomorrow the States--in the persons of Stid andthe stikids--wil be visiting us here on our sunny island (not the great white north at all)
soooo where do i look for the daily themes huh?
and if I didn
Raelite - not sure whether you smoke those, sit on them, or perhaps wear them if you are male & bald - ?
you can find them at one of the links on the right side of lickety's page, granny
all of the above, lynxxx
know takuma was teasing I'd br a sorry babbler
lol
LOL!!
skookum= strong, big, tough; toque = hat, chesterfield = couch
but then what can you expect of a Ph D. student?
thanx takuma :)
im also celebrating todays theme with my icon. ;)
I just scared the cats laughing at that, lynx
heh, hetty -- yeah, I don't get out much, so I have to deal in stereotypes
eva you don't live too far from me here in Waldorf, MD :)
Eva, I love your icon, never seen it before. Do you really have the T-shirt?
alright - changed my icon to get with the theme, eh?
It's a speaking likeness of me, Taku
lol hetty -- yeah, I was trying to pick someone all Canadians resemble
changed my icon for todays theme.... I believe we were discussing Timmy's recently
howdy nanette! I think this is the most popular theme I've seen in awhile
right folks, i'm off to the shops to buy some stuff to get rid of these blooming ants... just stuck my head outside and they appear to be forming an army BBL
take care Fish dont let the ants carry you off
added my tribute to Canada!
O great - methodically doing the grid and get to the As... I hate words starting with vowels!
Napoleon Dynamite's favorite animal is in the grid!
and he is??? (forgive my ignorance)
Eh?
hmmm
:-D
its a movie but not sure of the animal reference
The title character of a cult movie from a couple years ago
It's the offspring of two big cats of different species
ahhhh yes
Elvis Costello alias
Taku, yoiu've taken my likeness away!
Is that you I'm looking at now?
I didn't change my icon, eh?
oh - maybe it just refreshed -- I switch from the ugly doll awhile ago (I thought the new icon was the one you were referring to)
heh, no -- it's Jacques Villeneuve
hi all, resting for a few
ad6/27 please?
WellI'm glad we got that sorted out. Changing icons is a risky business
ok, well if not that one, maybe the ad6/21?
I've been having a bear of a time with the 'A's -- haven't gotten the ad6's either
ohhh, i got one! a greek guy
ad6/21 is a handsome young man (like my icon of yesterday).
ad6/21 the handsome man from mythology
the 6/21
en6?
ah! thanks feather
TY Jac & Nono
Hi, folks. There's a plague of flying ants over Britain today. They're every blooming where!
oh no jac! yuck!
en6 is do it again
sounds like your day has been interesting, jac!
good morning all
ad6/27 remove finale vowel from previous ad5/16 and add two other vowels
Yuk indeed! They're even in the house! Have been spraying and squashing like billy-o!
got it! ty!
Thanks again Nono
bbl
Jacula, Fishbulb was just telling us about the flying ants...... they sound yucky
Morning, everyone! *passes flame-thrower to Jacula*. Start filiming the blockbuster now!
Hi Judi
They are yucky! Clouds of them in the air when I went shopping, everyone swatting and waving their arms about.
Thanks, Judi. Don't want to set the house on fire, though. LOL
A british friend of mine once told me they never have insects.... where did they come from Jacula do you know?
Jac, great icon, I'm sure he'd help get rid of pests; mounties always get their man eh?
LOL, hetty!
Hmm. Yes - house fire would be problematic.
hey, indeed, great icon Jacula
Time for me to get to work. Good luck all, eh?
have a great day Takuma!
Flosey, did you know we are named as theme for the day?
Nanette, it's a new moon, I think, and that's when they swarm, also the first sunny day we've had for ages. There are ant nests everywhere anyway. They're removed all the mortar from between the slabs on my front drive.
yes hetty - did you read mine?
does anyone remember my book? The Royal Canadian Air Force fitness plan?
I remember it jane
Just read your profile, Flo. Makes great reading.
My uncle and aunt lived in Courtice, Ontario until a few weeks ago. They're now moved to a retirement bungalow in Oshawa, Ontario.
tks hetty
Hard not to boast, isn't it? Must liv eup to the Canadian reputtaion for modesty
I think they started off in Toronto when they moved to Canada in the late 60s and then they went to Vancouver Island, then Courtice etc.
as a young kid I lived a few miles west of Oshawa Jacula - then moved to North York - just north of Toronto
i still use it, hetty!
i mean i still use it, flosey!
Wonder why they left Vancouver Island, Jac
really, good for you
It was to be nearer their son, hetty (his work took him to Ontario) and they wanted to look after their grandson.
I don't mind at all being confused with Flo. We're both Canadian, eh?
yes hetty, I'd find it difficult to move back to Ontario winters - plus the humidity of summers
eh? ;)
I couldn't find a pic of the Edmonton Mall roller coaster....
that I do understand Jac. my only grandson is in Toronto
and Flo is a great-looking gal
maybe there's a pic of it on their website, harp?
oh well, I"ll stick with my royal mounties physical fitness plan!
I ave two grandsons--one a golfe of some renown, and one a "Sheepdog" (rock group-his band from Saskatchewan)
well, thank you hetty - and you are yourself
the Sheepdog is coming to play a gig on the island August 14
Like Haz does, I have Babbled before putting my week's shopping away. I'd better go and do it and then have some salmon & cucumber on fresh crusty bread for a late lunch. BBL.
harp: http://www.rideentertainment.com/blog/
ok i know i will need the fish---wi6 and wi7?

morning nan
send some to the east nan. we need it desparately.
be careful what you wish for Judy!
Hi Cybernan
its raining here also but its a good rain that is needed
had it yesterday nan, much needed for the gardens
terrible heat and humidity the last few days. promises of showers and thunderstorms but nothing so far.
We had rain yesterday too, flosey, but not like this -- had to go out and rescue all my deck planters and hanging baskets before all the soil washed out of them.
geez, nan. sounds like a real soaker.
ah yes, it would sure be hard on them
nice cooling icon judy
thx flosey. from my recent cruise to Alaska
ge5 and gi5?
just turn your kitchen tap on full blast, judy, and you'll get the idea -- have never seen it rain this hard -- not even when we lived in Vancouver or Montreal!

me, too, Nan. not doing well. Finally got the list out a few minutes ago.
not interested in any go 5, harp?
i heard this morning that this one was a toughie
any clues for those first two ad's?
ad5 an old saying
ad + how old you are, nan. then drop the last vowel and add two other vowels
ad6 remove the last vowel and add two others
ty nono and judy
Nan, the first ad is an old word for a proverb, the second is a musical term for a slow tempo
ad6: hunk of man! Blonde ad****.
got them -- thank you :)
108 down, 108 to go...
go eva go

yep and rain while you are gone on your trip will probably help keep your garden nice stid...our yard looks sooo much better now (we don't water everything-too $)
we don't water anything but very new trees and the actual garden areas with flowers or veggies. Everything else takes its chances with us!
of course, it's expected to rain up in the islands while we're gone too! :-) serves me right for planning a trip middle of the summer, eh?
hi everyone a clue for la 6 24 please x
same here, we do water the front of our lawn but it is small and that has a very efficient sprinkler system. We're saving up to buy some rain barrels this fall.

old time infection fighter
this was posted at midnite: Hey all, mrp had her operation, and there were no complications, but due to the fact that they cut and grounded a big chunk of her right humorus, she's on lots of pain meds
good grief-thanks!
Someone said earlier that the surgery was fine, and she is now on painkillers and antibiotics as is normal. That's all I know.
and: She can't use her right arm, and her left one has antibiotics and meds going in, so she's struggling. She's so spaced out too. She wanted to send her love to you all and thanks everyone.
no WAY is that co5/12 legit...!!
Thanks for that Uneaixoise...
is the re6, related to the re7 before it

Hi, granny! An a clue for me? I'm honored!

Spot on this time!
and besides that i hate the a's
I know; that's why I'm so honored.
random question -- whats the best way you all have found to deal with stress?? been under quite a bit lately, and while some of it has subsided, some of it is still ongoing... looking for good ways to relax myself...
ice cream :)
and getting out into the fresh air, by the beach, up a hill, just time to yourself
do something you enjoy. a concert. .walk. try yoga.
hah, ok, best way to deal with stress while not falling off of my healthy-eating wagon. ;)
golf :) -- that little white ball becomes the target for everything that's bugging me.
reading
Meditation, yoga, and breathing exercises--not that I practice them like I should.
read a book, cup of tea, watch the birds feed, just stare into space :)
at the very least, i AM happy to announce that my AC system is finally and officially all replaced!
co5, 1st one?
Eva- exercise or yoga. I am not into exercise at all but it really works
I would like to second cybernan's request for the second Sa 5,14 !!! ?
i like to lift weights....focusing all of that energy into pushing or pulling seems to help me not want to break something
And laughter--I have a collection of comedy dvds.
need to take 5 --- not seeing anything at the moment --bbl
the downside is that I now have almost nothing in my bank account, and I think I may have to borrow money from my parents to pay my mortgage. :/
definitely just quiet time where you can relax and stare into space for a while and just breathe then
I also managed to re-home my cats, which is a good thing. But I couldnt get them a home together, and I will miss them, which is sad. :/
sa5.14 use the sa4.6 before add another vowel 3rd place & change the last vowel - sorry - awful word
awww that is sad :(
I'm sorry you had to re-home your cats--they can really help when I'm stressed.
ty lynxxx
co5.12 - alternative spelling (NOT correct) of cute Australian animal
They both went to homes with good people who have more free time than I do, so they will get more affection and attention than I have been able to give them. I dont know that anyone can give them more love than I have for them though...
no, but they can give them equal but different love

swings are my worst enemy
Izabella Gabriella might be a bit much for one little girl to carry around.
I did say that if its another boy this one could have chris middle name as a middle name but if its a girl it has to have my middle name for a middle name (which unfortunately is jean - old family name
lol my poor son Aleczander Darius

I just got a divorce and reclaimed my maiden name; so I have a four-letter first name and a four-letter last name (instead of ten)
a very full mouth full
That would have just about every letter in the alphabet!!
I just got a wicked craving for a rootbeer float so I am going to go to my kitchen and make one lol
My daughter had a baby last week. Her husband named her - Esther - he has a cat called Chester and we reckno it was the nearest he could get to that!!

Wizard at large/ kingdom for Sale, is a fun one with some serious tones, but mostly fun
has anyone read the trilogy by Phillip Pullman. I'm on the second book
love them bichon
I enjoyed Pullman's trilogy
I did go into a mike gayle/marion keyes stage which is all chick lit, but found the books to all be roughly the same so they now sit on the shelf
i head the first one is being made into a movie
its on release quite soon
'grabs pen to write down names of authors to find on ebay later'
and if you like Pullman, you'll like Garth Nix
have a title to go with that name?
any particular book Ata?
the Abhorsen trilogy - Sabriel, Liriel and Abhorsen
I don't know if he's well known in the States
will have to check him out on my next bookstore outing, he's now on my list!
I've seen them for sale over there
and mine lol
they are *fab*. He's written another, longer series, but the Abhorsen one is simply stunning
c's done finally
I have reserved Sabriel at the public library. My husband is a librarian and we don't buy books
go knight!
hi knight! how did you fair after last nite's storm?
*gasps* don't buy books! 'swoons@
another set of books I always recommend to people is Tad Williams' Otherland quartet. They are long, detailed, don't read them if you like conventional books, or a quick easy read. BUt if you like in depth fantasy / sci-fi / adventure / gothic / many other themes, they are quite remarkable
but I defy anyone not to like Sabriel, its soooooooo good.
good - chic -we live about 2 mile north of oro valley cc
that looked downright scary
sa 6/21?
summer shoe bichon
we got nothing :-(
bichon, what you were on your feet
thanks mum
actually, I'M WEARING bIRKENSTOCKS RIGHT NOW

te + opp of out + a b c *
thanks!
np
my 9 year old is reading a Garth Nix series right now.
mister monday, grim tuesday, etc.
those are good too. but not as good as the Abhorsen books, especially for grown-ups, I think
I just picked them up for him one day, and he loves them. we are all readers at our house. grew up with that.
right I need to go as the sound of my keyboard clacking is driving my husband mad and he keeps turning the volume on the tv up
lol night, jm
see you soon jakes-mum

HK, that decision requires that you premedicate yourself. You will be surrounded by total mayhem from people dressed up as HP characters.
I am going to the party at the bookstore below where I work--it is affiliated...

i took the grandson to the local renassaince fair last weekend & now he has a robe, a wand & a wizard hat - he is totally ready to go - not sure what i'll wear, maybe the old straight-jacket
Xanax will be a good choice, or sustain a concussion earlier in the day.

I've just been reading Babbler Hydra's blog. It's most entertaining.
ty
carra, if you have the co6.24 add a vowel at the end for the 7 then plural for the 8
BTW, the do + US coin is a do6/24 not 6/28.

Hi & 'bye, jilli.
That's very honest of you, Shelley.
later jili
Have to be honest - the true originator could be online right now ...
I haven't been around on the log much today - it was weekly shopping day, then I had a plague of flying ants to deal with (as did most of UK!) and then I was baking.
argh i'm all taped up after physio today and i can't concentrate. so i'm off to bed. happy trails all.
firewords !
'Bye bonkler. Feel better tomorrow!
Well done, Hell on Earth. x
I'm stuck on one 5 letter SA
oh that lickety video had me laughing from beginning to end!
what's this, plagues? sounds awful - how does one deal with a swarm of flying ants?
kapee - sa5/14 = more wise. sa5/14 = Miss Sa**** (musical) then take off last 3 letters and add 1st vowel instead.
sa5/12 = cold meal of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, cheese etc.
sa5/12 = weird past tense of the 'not mad' sa4/4 before it.
That concludes the sa5 words.
One gets out of their way when outside, Hell, and sprays and squashes them when inside the house.
We're supposed to get 4" of rain tomorrow so that'll get rid of most of 'em.
kapee - the 'Miss Sa****' clue - take off the last 2 letters, not the last 3.
gotta go now bye all
hey all-16 to go here!
