Isnt licketys list up?
not sure
is not
Lickety was in earlier and said the list was late he was going to get MRP and it was going to be a rough time for her
Is she coming home
I am not annoyed that there was no list i was just wondering
from what I understood yes
I hope she is ok.
I wish i could be in her state i would so be helping out right now
he said something about a double break twisted radial frature or something
Mr pres has spiral fractured her arm and had bone removed from same arm. Unless she has stuffed that arm up more since i last spoke to the Lickety
ok dinner is served - home crumbed (with fresh bread) schnitzel, mashed potatoes carrots and sauteed cabbage
yes that is correft its broke in 2 places from what I understood
omg, herin -- hadn't heard that about mrp -- this is since her surgery?
she put pressure on the arm moving or something and it snapped
Im just back logging now
and yet she's going home? What are they doing about her arm?
I guess its been fixed and all that, the break happened a few days ago
thanks for the info, mel -- I've been absent from here and missed that
icketySplitAUS Hey everyone, I might miss the flip by a few hours - have to be by mrp when she get's her splint applied to her recently operated / spiral fractured / dislodged (looks like it's in two pieces) upper right arm bone. It's going to be really painful to just move.
thankyou Herin I was just going to go look for that myself
omg..i was just copying/pasting the same thing
thats the only update i just found
that poor woman - if i could only been in the same country
thats the one I was referring too, thank you
thanks herin -- what a terrible time she's having -- Lickety too
that didn't say she was going home
this is how rumors get started..lol
I hope shes going to be ok
I like what Jacs said last night about early cluing
somebody earlier said she was going home
I was very distracted when He posted that I said I wasnt sure what he said
Maybe hes going to visit her and spend the night there
just that the clues were going to be late
herin -- did jacula object to early cluing or early announcing of big words?
oh i have already accepted that clues may or may not appear
Yep to both
well, I just bob along with my 4-letter collection :)
brandyjacks clues are up
thanks babrab
you mean like when we race to find the big words first? I think that is fun to do, and you can close the chat if you dont want to see what is being said
and i agree. I dont appear in chat until about 1hr later as it drives me to tears and distraction seeing that people get words about 1 min into the grid.
I have 4 fa's; 9 fe's; 6 fl's... can anyone help?
where are brandyjacks clues?
Please dont think i am slagging anyone off im not its a me thing. I am not that fast and thats a you lot thing so meh. I dont want to know i close the chat
well I am going to take a break up to 91 words so a good start for me
THanks babble to brandys list too
Babblers Anonymous ... first link on page
ty very much babble
I chat usually for the first little bit then ignore it until I hit a wall then go back to chat and take a break
As i said im not bagging anyone. Im just bler
did i scare everyone off?
no im just finishing off dinner
not me, herin -- was just trying to get a word for each tile so I can go to bed
and what do you mean, "I'm just bler" - lol?
bler as in flat cat day
nite everyone

hi sprite
just started, cannot tell yet.
its offical there are some really stoopid words here.
Lickety is away with the pres so no list but brandy has posted in babble anon
hooh boy - it looks dodgy
thanks lady
id call it a doosey lol
don't use lists, but 'away' in what way? More docs and hospitals and such?
Hi everyone. I was hiding the chat but saw a little green man peeking through so thought I should say - Hi Sprite
just the kind of grid that need a clues list eh?
hi lynxxx! How are you doing?
pretty much crone but im doing well to be halfway without the clues list so im happy lol
maybe there is a couple of down right stoopid ords
HI lynxx
good eve lynxx happy babbling

hi Kier
hey kier!
shouldn't i go to bed, duh?
should you?
Has Lickety given an update on MRP? last bit I saw was when that it was a dislocation - but a displacement - and that the break was spiral. any news since then?
Hi Kier
i shan't
that is the last I heard as well.
No news since this arvo
good eve kier happy babbling
hey groov
how long ago Infernal - I'll look back
errr hang ojn
Hey everyone, I might miss the flip by a few hours - have to be by mrp when she get's her splint applied to her recently operated / spiral fractured / dislodged (looks like it's in two pieces) upper right arm bone. It's going to be really painful to just move.
good gosh my stomach just did a flop reading that
oh Infernal - your voice just got really deep! and Thanks for that
ewww bummer.. how did it get spiral fractured/dislodged??
poor thing... and poor lickety. I really hope they can put it together fast. And then make it immobile...
oops forgot to add LIckety to that. SHe rested on it wrong
after the grafting it is probably extremely fragile, and mrP is not the quietest of patients.
lol Sprite - I was wondering how they would keep her immobile!?
but oweeeee my stomach did that sick flip and im not the one being touched
eww eww ewww. hope she has some good pain pills to take the edge off
won't be easy, lynxxx :) I was thinking maybe a cast from shoulder to fingers? ;)
she is drugged to the max, kier, but this pain goes beyond that.
top row all grey yah
i can imagine. Like to suggest hypnoses when doing this but i dont know
my hub had crushed ribs and bruised ankle last year. at least drugs helped him sleep =(
I was perhaps joking inappropriately - the thought of anyone trying to keep MRP 'still' is hard to imagine - so full of life.
I don't think mrP would be very susceptible to that right now, lady. Perhaps when the pain becomes a bit more manageable. And lynxxx, I think mrP herself would smile at that, and will, later on. She is just not the person to be kept quiet easily :)
can see it now - sit still mumble mumble doubt she would poor love
argh kier, sounds pretty painful too. Is he better now?
yep, took months for the ribs to heal tho
As i said not know but it would be nice if it worked, poor thing and poor family
I know, that is why I asked... very slow process, healing ribs. Glad he is better now.
it is taking its toll on all of them indeed. I hold them in my thoughts and prayers all the time.
lets jsut pray this is the last they have to do. I know there is more
*seconds that from bottom of heart*
Shalom Everyone -- I just read what you've all said about MrP. My prayers are certainly with her and Lickety
Hi ARB

err to bad weather
i think for the first time in ages i'm looking out to blue skies!
too much even for you, MVA? :)
Wheather here is glorious. Sun blazing down (over 40 degrees) , almost no humidity.

hi pink
no dramas thanks
lol, I only now realise that must have sounded like "Elvis has left the building"
lol
is it bad that i just want a bowl of cornflakes for dinner and just wanting to go to bed
not at all, lady. At least you will eat then and relatively healthy, and if you wanna sleep, go sleep. It is your body telling you you need sleep.
sound fairly normal to me
Ata! :)
hey!!
might run it by the boys
im pigging out on aussie mandarins for supper nice big fat juicy ones lol
mmmmmmmm
there in glut at the mo here Groovy
hubby and I are gonna take the kids (and ourselves) to Shrek 3 today. Will pick him up from work and afterwards get some junkfood. And the best part: I still have free tickets for all 4 of us :)
I'm living on cherries at the moment
yayyy!
and they are really cheap over here i think i paid about $2.90 a kilo
Yay free tickets !!!
YAY thats great sprite.
havent seen that yet sprite - lmk if its worth it lol
Groovy try about $2 a kilo here.
Atal - did you find a way to pit them?
yeah, bite, swirl round mouth, spit :P
how many Ru words plese
lol...and then you cook and store them?
13 herin
lol, no just eat them :)
ta
they are too yummy to store!
there was someone asking the other nite about a good way to de-pit cherries. not you?
not me!
aha...some-one who had a tree...sorry, you must have wondered where I was coming from
ooooh wonder who that was
right tea time. Back soon
before i sleep on the couch
anyone got the su 5/18 or 6/27?
no i don't GK!
sounds like sulpha
su5/18 - looks like, hopefully doesn't smell like a boiled egg chemical
hi haz!
hey all. kiwi, the 6 is an adverb on a 4 meaning certain
Good morning/evening all!
tyk haz
and good eve happy babbling to you
hiya orn happy babbling to you too
tyk orn
thanks for the count Kiwi
Hi Haz & Ornith
I met a looovely Irish vet yesterday. The relevance of this? Not a lt, except it appears that all Irish vets are lovely
Yes, we grow them specially. It's all the potatoes they eat.
Haz - better cut that one out for yr husband
this one certainly looked like he'd been eating lots of potatoes. he made hobbit's eye better
And what news on Hobbit? I saw an ulcer mentioned in the log yesterday.
He sounds just like my husband! He's well upholstered.
she has much gloop to be added to affected eye twice a day, poor brat
but she's already looking better. the joys of running through brambles madly after rabbits ....
Does she accept the gloop gladly?
she's not as bad as I thought she'd be, actually. she seems to suffer it quite well
She must know it makes sense, to quote a Trotter phrase.
ack, no list yet today!?
my parents' poor dog - the one in my icon - has allergies, so he has eye goop and ear goop and pills
babanon list is up orn
I think she does actually. she definitely looks like "oh *that*. if you *must* ...."
does anyone want me to paste it in for ya?
he's really good about holding still once you finally manage to catch him - unfortunately he will sometimes not take a treat rather than get caught, cause he's a really smart little dog
Ornith - BJ has posted I believe
awwww
eh, well, I oughta go to bed anyway
they have another one, same breed, dumb as a rock.
cairns? they are soo cute
But i like Campbell's name, it suits him and the breed.
I can't believe any terrier is dumb
yup! I miss them :). yeah, we picked something Scottish on purpose.
saw a baby one at the vet yesterday :)
lynxxx, as smart as Campbell is, I was shocked. Pebbles is SO DUMB (we didn't name her, or we'd have to have named Campbell Bam-Bam!). And super-clingy too.
awwww!
they're like polar opposites, Pebbles is even black to his light tan.
She's the bimbo but he's the blond :P
LOL :)
lol
anyway, my cat is staring at me - I think he knows I'm talking about them! so I'm gonna go take him to bed.
night all
Good night Ornith.
nite Ornith
night!
goodnight ornith

Have you read Velocity?
sleep well, Kiwi
good morning afternoon evening everyone
good eve lore happy babbling good nite lore lol
oh yes, Nanette, very much!
Hi Lore
you too?
hey sprite and nono
yes I actually just discovered him
have read maybe 4 or 5 of his
I like the combination of thriller/horror and the insight in psychology and the somehow almost spiritual 'feel'
I can recommend the ones I listed yesterday :)
am currently reading Intensity
that is a very good one
Good evening loredana
hi lore!
TY have updated Books to Get & Read list
hey lynxxx
:)
I am right now hating my whoozy brain. I cannot find the free tickets. I KNOW I had my hands on them very recently. Just cannot remember where at all.
Put in your wallet or handbag?
I'm going to take a break - what a nice grid, though cafetiere not being found in the dictionary is a bit hard to take. See you later. (sprite, husband always asks 'when was the last time you saw them?' - it's maddening, because if you could remember THAT, you wouldn't be asking, right?
I'm breaking too (before this head/chest cold breaks me) BBL
Clues are up!
Morning Lickety!
how is MrP doing today?
sprite, just look in the last place they could possibly be!
mrp got her splint put on - so hopefully that will help with the pain
I sure hope so!
and how are you holding up
she's a little happier too, which is good. She might get some sleep tonight with the help of some more meds
oh good! Sleep will do her a lot of good
just eating dinner, and need to deal with family stuff - enjoy the grid, Oh - and bye the way - the Lickety Chat has an face lift - test it out for me if you can
ok enjoy your meal and hug your children will check the chat
hey Lickety! *hug*
hi lickry
LIckety hugs you and everyone for me
Lickety, Hugs and prayers to you and MrP
Lickety Meebo chat works well
hi lickety glad to hear mr p is feeling better and happier *hugs* to you both
pink im me
clue for the te 7 44 please
well, cannot find those darn tickets. Guess we will pay this time and go for free some other day. I am afraid I have put them in a safe place ;)
dont have it yet herin, sorry
that and te 6 27 please
....and cant remember where that safe place is lol
you probably will remember as soon as you pay for new tickets sprite!
exactly!
argh Nanette, that might be only too tr4 :)
at least they will still be good for another time
yes, I believe the whole year.
and I used to be the organized one in this household, can you believe it?
Lady, te 6/27 has an adverb suffix to the te 4/5
got it thanks
im eating rice puding for tea
The te 7/44 is a Yiddish word, meaning not kosher good. te + the second note on the scale + the fourth note on the scale with a consonant to close the word
not kosher food
thanks ARB, that helped
yw -- amazing how many Yiddish words are in enable
that didnt help
ty ARB that would have been a hard one for me to find!
I like them, like learning them too. Have trouble spotting them, though.
I've never seen it spelled that way
Lady, do you know the words to the scale -- do -- mi -- so la ti do -- fill in the blanks
yes i do but that isnt right
I usually see it spelled with four letters beginning with tr
I think it's the general word to describe the dietary rules and what is not acceptable
it is right, lady, believe me, lol
RAY is the second in the scale and its not in the grid
Bichon, that is the adjective -- this food is tr-- or not. Today's word is a noun .
only two letters herin
its not ray
you have to spell it like in the scale, not like the sound
That's not how the note is spelled in the scale, Lady -- it's how it is pronounced
thanks ARB. I've gone 61 years being Jewish and I didn't know that
ray ra what ever its how i was tought in singing
so... google on the musical scale or whatever...
Treyf is NOT in the grid
correct,
what is the te 4/5 [1st]?
is it an alt spelling ARB?
he is serving a jail te 4/5
we're a te4/5 of babblers
thanks ARB
Pinkhat, I believe so -- the Yiddish pronunciation of that word would be tre---
Rah Rah for our te4/5!
Re is descending Ra is asscending which is why i got confused
and thanks for spelling it out in the chat...
hint for the first 6/18 [te]?
don't know if it is the first, but mine rhymes with the grey m***** we call our brain, bichon.
I'm not that far yet.
nm, got it
and i didnt spell it out in the chat
spelled with another vowel though
you did post the note we so carefully kept on describing though, lady.
st 5, 10 clue please
it's a metrice measure
st + last 3 letters of in this place
You lost me, Sprite.
H4 = in this place
stere
rats
exactly
Wrong box ... put me in detention

Sprite its international forget day
Liz...adverb of the faces one !
ooooh dear...now look what I've done...I'm going !!!!
didn't help me anyway Karys ROFL
did sprite see dont think so anyway no goodies left in the box
lol, I will refill the penalty box right away then
ooops she saw
oh thats ok then, I don't mind so much if there's goodies, and keeps me out of trouble !
for the fa8: the side of a diamond made into an adverb
I have the diamond bit I just cant seem to find a way to make it into an adverb
let's see... more strawberries and cherries, more chocolate, tea and coffee.... I better get us some icecream too... wine maybe?
see, thats what I meant to say !
oh doh! *smacks forehead* got it now TY
now you ARE talking sprite !...must be careful tho' got a funeral to go to in a bit.
wtg Liz! It ends like re4/6 to depend
not too much wine then, Karys, I think... all the rest is safe ;)
Hello again, time to find some more words.
hello Haz
hi haz
I do so want 'rectify'...I must have tried it a dozen times, and I know it's not there !
It's worrying that Karys is already drinking.

I don't want to be judgemental but....
hi Haz :)
but you see, I am a little stuck now with 53 still to find, and anything might just help !
Hello sprite, Liz, loredana and Karys!
it is happy hour somewhere in the world though
but not here, I havn't even had lunch yet !
Karys, did your husband get home safely?
He doesn't return til tomorrow night Haz, thank you for asking, but he is fine up to this moment.
That's good - travelling is hazardous enough at the best of times.
nor me... and no breakfast either. I think I should go make me some :)
I always think that the more times he goes there it increases the risks, so it's not my favourite time.
I have been really naughty of late Sprite, having a slice of toast with real butter !
morning, from wildlife central!
Imagination can be a blessing and a curse!
Hi feather !
there were 4 momma turkeys and at least 15 babies in our yard just now, and two male deer with racks
Good morning feather.

Bye sprite - eat something!
I better... going to make me some now :)
bye sprite, bit belated
these boxes with single words are stumping me!
me too, feather! Good Morning Everyone
i can not bulk grab anymore - anyone else got problems?
Good morning periwinkle.
dunno anike. i use babble expert now.
hi peri
may I have clues for the 8's please
fa8/70 - to the side of a diamond (fa5/18) add a vowel for fa6/30 - make it an adverb for fa8.
tr8/45 - one who is more worthy of confidence than another.
thanks Haz, got the tr8 right off, working on the fa8, got the fa6
You're welcome.
got the fa8 too, thanks Haz
have 62 words, bbl
That's good. See you later, peri.
good morning all
oh, didn't see the adverb ending yet!
Good morning greenbay.
It comes in handy, feather!
got a few more with it now
Some words end with it back to front as well.
yeah, saw the yl endings
oh geeze lemme make it real obvious when you were being subtle! lol
how's the grid today
Not quite penalty box worthy, feather!
good morning all....
so far so good green
greenbay, I thought it was a nice grid today.
maybe i can just reach in over the edge for a treat.....
Good morning carlee.
i just don't like the singlet boxes
good morning Carlee
Hey everyone. Feather - check out the new Lickety Chat
how is everyone today ( good afternoon Haz ... am just starting 2nd coffee...I have 1/2 of my wits with me this am..rest still sleeping )
ooohh, going now
Hello Lickety - nice to see you.
BRB phone.
it is cool lickety
morning again everyone
trying to find last 50 in a short time so diving in!
lickety, have you any ideas why my bulk grab has stopped working? I run a Mac computer
anike - not changes on this side
if you can detail it really well and email I'll help you out
hi NonNO
anike, I am using a Mac also and Firefox, and it still works for me.
I don't know what's happened - I was using it on Saturday but would not work Sunday. I'm in the middle of cooking dinner so will have to come back later. I've never used Firefox - bit ignorant in that department. Will try to email you later lickety
bbl
The problem is - I copy the words from word list but will not paste anymore
reboot anike?
perhaps you are not actually copying the wordsk, anike. Try copying them and pasting into another app, like Word or TextEdit and see if they paste
I'll try everything but b4 I just copied, put them in bulk add thru paste and all was well. Have to serve dinner now
Okay, I'm going to take my leave. Have a good day all!
Hi & 'Bye, Haz and smiley Spangle. x
Hello fellow Babblers.
hi Jacula
morning Jacula.
Miffed to find ca9 (coffee jug with plunger) isn't allowed! I felt so clever when I found it.:(
too many french words today
Hi Hurshy - perfect timing as I found the si5.12
Hi, hursh. No French flowers allowed either.
but fleur and heur don't count :(
snap jac :)
Hi Jac...and anyone else I didn't see before
Hi, lynxxx

Merci beaucoup for the si5. Hadn't spotted that.

darn, i was hoping it was "i am going on vacation, will you lu4sit for me?"
(lu4 the instrument, that is)
That's what I figured. LOL.
thats what you say!
the other lu4 obviously has to come along!
I'd be happy to have someone lu4/5 for me
LOL
Er. How about them H words, eh?
Getting a little warm there, Inge? *grins*
I can't find a single H word they must be diabolical
;-)
mmm if you lu4.5 you might get lu4.5 (the first) - just looked up def
hu4 ow
I've found 10 'h' words so far.
he4 right next to you
that one i got
hu6 hurry
it's the top H words
building on the theme...hu7 is the penthouse-like mag
oh ok

ouch! that hu4.6!
and two ha/ from the top
handle of a knife, etc
hy4 sounds like how tall you are
hy4, weird spelling of how tall you are
ty
build on the knife handle
hu5/14 - sandy hillock. (Think artist Damien H****)
hu6 & 7 - to charge/rush headlong
change the magazine hu6&7 so it sounds like a tortoise type creature
I've found 4 words associated with the knife handle.
He4.6es bags are a fashion essential (to some)
any i clues please? I hate words starting with vowels!
what eeyore eats minus th

hello babbloanians
Thanks for that other 'i', lyn. It's so obvious now you've pointed it out. *slaps se4/7 on head. Ow! That hu4/6!*
Hello, pink.
yw Jac
mornin babblers!
Hi, Evan.
Hi Eva
hi evan
how is everyone this morning?
tergum termly
Hoping not to join the rest of Britain under water, Evan! (See my flickr pics.)
Hello, inge. Wrong box.
yes, i heard!
morning all...jac...I hope you're fairing okay in all of this
hi Kristinic
Hello, kristinc. Okay so far. Fingers crossed!
good day greenbay lady!
random clue - what the su6.21 saw
well, I hope it continues to spare you...and just goes away for eveyone else! :)
It doesn't go away af5/16 the water's gone, unfortunately. It can take 6months to a year to clear up.
I think that is the part most people forget about yes? (including the media)
Anyway, I've already given myself a tension headache over the past few days. I'm going to think happy thoughts and Babble now.
sorry...yes, that sounds like a plan! we'll continue to cross our fingers for you & others
Thanks.
we had floods in our State a few weeks ago. One of the State Emergency guys that had been effected said he would rather have a bushfire go through (a house etc) than floods. Fingers crossed for you Jac
good day lynxxx...yikes!
lyn - I think both are as bad in their own ways.
Hi Kris
lynxxx...where were the floods?
rolin - all over the place! See my pics.
Lyn - I thought there was a drought over there at present?
rolin - I've realised you were talking to lyn, now. Sorry.
Gippsland Lakes & Rivers - Raymond island, lakes Entrance, Paynesville and all around that area
lol.yeah jac..i know about the ones here...lynxxx.lives in the same state i used to live in
It seems to be all or nothing weatherwise, doesn't it?
oh wow...so after the drought ..where they lost the top soil..the floods will take the rest...*sigh*
ok...ive gotta pop out to the shops...bbl..
Jac - problem is that we have had drought(ish) for I think something like 10 years so our dams - especially in Victoria - are quite 'down'. Vic dams have risen in the last 2 weeks to 34% capacity - this time last year were just below 50% - we still have quite a way to go
'Bye, rolin.
bye rolin...have a good day
clue for me4/5
lyn. Oh dear! I'm sorry to hear that.
me4/5 - what vegetarians don't eat.
sorry...breakfast and babble don't mix well sometimes :)
Greenbay - its an anagram of the other me4.5
*GRRRR!!* will my AC saga never end?!
AC saga?
ty
lyn - thanks. Hadn't spotted the other me4/5.
eva, MORE AC probs??
'Affluent' is NOT in the grid, Jac, so stop typing it!
jac -- i was without AC all summer until last week when i finally got a company to come out + replace my entire system for a small fortune (as in, i may be borrowing money from mom + dad to pay my mortgage this month). was away all weekend, and come home to find out the stupid thermostat isnt working, so the AC isnt turning on!
oh nooooooooooo
Oh! Air Con. I see what you mean now. Not something we routinely have in homes here.
Hope you get it sorted soon, Evan.
te7.44 if you are of the jewish faith you will know that this means nonkosher (food)
basically, if i have the fan set on Auto, it never comes on. the roommies discovered that if you set the fan to On and hit the emergency switch on the unit, we can at least get it to turn on, but then of course, it doesnt shut off unless you do it manually! called the company, have an appt for tomorrow (another day working at home, which will not make my boss happy) and they say its a problem with the thermostat. *harumph*
the thermostat WAS part of the AC they replaced - at not inconsiderable cost?
yeah, i had a whole new system which replaces everything but the ducts. seems whoever installed my new thermostat didnt know what they were doing. :/
*harumph* indeed then
i feel terrible for my boss. we are in the middle of the biggest project we have ever had, and here i have to keep requesting days at home... *le sigh*
BBL - need to do a few jobs.
hi all - evan, what about roomies?
lucky for me, hes understanding. :)
I'm sure he knows you will make it up someway or another
hello everyone
yes. luckily i usually get to work from home rather than take the whole day off. im not usually QUITE as productive, but its better than not working at all...
so long jac, hang in there
this is quite the ordeal evaN
Hi Little
hello everyone
dont i know it! when i called this morning to make the appointment, i was sure to verify that there will be NO charge for tomorrows visit, since they just installed it last week.
good day little and annie
hi lyn
hi kristinc!
Hi AnnieB
hi lynxxx!

I was going to blog about it...maybe I will
raelite, great mingling of personalties...please do blog...it will be interesting to read
lol, it certainly was - we totally clicked, it crossed right through our ages, it was a true meeting of kindred spirits!
raelite, there is a babble thread running through all of us
it is such an incredible community
*swoops in from open window* Did someone say "incredible" ??
judi - did you get "simpsonized"?
Yes, rae. It's a self portrait. I made it myself.
it's awesome!!!
Make your own at simpsonsmovie.com
oh shoots...I just noticed a stone missing in my ring....
clue for ur6/21
Oh no, Rae! Is it a diamond?
no...a pretty sapphire - the ring is shaped like the branch of a tree, the stones are like leaves
last night, I caught my hand between the armrests of two chairs, it looks like the claw has been bent back
Drat. Well at least you know where to look for the lost stone.
it was at the pub - there's a good chance I'll never find it
GBL - ur6 is a pee-pee tube.
luckily, I've had trouble with the ring before and the place where I bought it has replaced the stones before
ty
Ur7 is the plural.

ty, got the is5/10, whats the other?
oops meant rh 4/6
hiya mm
green, rh + vowel + pluralized
All part of the cruelty of Babble, Bernice.
Judi, a quick question. Having created an avatar on simpsonsmovie.com, how do I go about downloading it?
no, judi, if H is worth 2 points, then there can't be an rh 4/4
ishult, in scary moveies sometimes a thing can move by it****
You have to download it as a jpeg and put it in your Flickr account (if you have one) to get it to show up here.
thanks Annie
It's an rh4/6, Bernice.
yw
yes, i saw that
and i gave her a clue, i thought you misunderstood me
lol, and who's on first?
Let the record show that I will no longer be responsible for "rh" words.
that qu is annoying.
nor i
there's a qu word?
no, just the qu tile sitting there.....not being used....bugs me
No Qu's or Y's today.

the bedding and everything is teddy bears. the walls are blank, and i haven't found any good teddy bear pictures, but i did find a set of sponges that are stars, moons, hearts, and teddy bears. so going to sponge paint a little scene.

awwww thats so nice.
I'd have loved a baby shower for my little girl who's now 20 months old :( Why dont we have them I wonder
ok, how about the second re6/21?
sorry I don't keep up with the icons so that one totally passed me by
um, if you don't know what the word is, how do you know how long or how many points?
how about the hu6/34? please?
it was all kinds of handy with daniel, for sure. didn't have one for this one, other than my school which did a small one because they always do for everyone's babies, regardless if it's the first or fifth
stypica, look bottom left corner, under "friends of babble" for the link called lickety's babble clues
I know liz :( though we do prezzies when the baby is actually born which I don't think the americans do (am i right there?!)
I was swamped with pressies when both mine were born :)
Stypica, if you scroll down to Friends of Babble, you will find Lickety's Babble Clues -- they tell you the length of each word, its first two letters and its point scaore
no, not really. once they're born, you might get a few gifts from some who feel like it, but the shower is the big thing.
ok...am alone n the store... and am yawning so much my eyes are peeing...and ther NO CAFFEINE in the joint....
hu 6--pool shark
it's nice this way, because then you're all set up for when you come home!
liz: there are no hu 6/34;s... but there are 3 hu6/24s
*kicks carlee's chair*
wake up carlee!
well I hope yours is less dramatic than when my Meg was born lol
YAWNINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
why's that?
sandbox - I meant 24 sorry
The problem with getting gifts after the baby is born is I tend to get excited and buy eveything while i'm waiting and then no-one knows what to buy me
exactly jakes mum!
second re6/21 please?
I live on a tiny island feather, hospital is 9 miles across the sea, no planes can land here so it has to be by boat, went into labour in hurricane force winds....
feather: re 6/21 hmmm... sounds like pairs up again...
brb
well...THAT is exciting liz
lifeboat was sent but they refused to take me as it was too dangerous, baby was born in the local docs surgery
we wen shopping 2 weeks ago and bought everything from the cot to blankets (I do get excited about these things)
that woke carlee up!! lol
liz: the 3 hu 6s are... one who causes pain, to throw, to part a fool with his money
a 2nd lifeboat had to being paramedics and a midwife, absolute nightmare! Meg was the first baby born on Sark in over 38 years
why is erse not allowed when erses is?
not really...but it is exciting... am half waiting for my brother in law to storm in here...he decided to fight with his recent "conquest" and she came storming in here after he left...then peeled out of parking lot...
ooohhh the drama in this chat! lol
finally got he fa8, thanks
jilli: according to dictionaries... erse is not a valid word... I know it sounds weird.. but it is
um I think it must be the throwing one I'm missing
okay, i am totally not getting the re clue about pairing up again....,
erse is a gaelic dialect
liz: it also means to move at great speed.. like a comet hu6ing through the sky
I use that hu6 to discribe someone who is running really fast, they hu6 down the corridor at break neck speed
got it Sandbox TY rhymes with turtle! lol
eiei: ok how about this... the word meaning to not accept.. but you change one letter
ok 47 left - going to watch tv for a bit BBL, have fun all
no liz don't go your soooooo close

hi hetty
Hi. My profile disappeared when I was trying to upload photos. It's back but oh dear!
No photos!
hi everyone, I'm just here for a few minutes. Help with the et 5 please, I have 11 words left.
et5 is pure form of alcohol
elmer, Ms. Merman
ha7/44
pluralr the ha6.30
need that then
hetty, are you staying dry?
add the ending to ha4.8 of one who does
that was a fun FIREWORKS video! Hi all
ty
whoooo hoooo JILLI
Hetty - I uploaded lots of photos to flickr a couple of days ago and forgot to make them 'public' rather than 'private'. Maybe you've done that, too?
Hello, btw.
back in a mo -- dryer yelling
hi jacs
Hi To. *Yells Hi to Jilli way off in the laundry room.*
hi Jac
Hi, lbd.
okay.. i feel really stupid... cannot get the first ha4/8... think the rest would come... just can't see it... please... anyone?
kerry, it's an oddball one. h+ double vowel + flag letter
Kerry - h + double vowel plus consonant (sounds like a German saying 'have' in English)
It's a fishing ground off Orkney & Shetland Isles, btw.
wow.. only combo i didn't try i guess... so do ha6/30 and 7/44 go with it? tyvm
no
lol... great.... clues anyone?
No, they go with the 2nd ha4/8 (knife handle/ broom handle/ axe handle etc.)
h + the back of a boat.
okay... ty
kerry, ha6 and 7 go with the ha4 that follows that one
24 to go.... thx... got the ha's... with some help!
Where's Hettu disappeared to? I was about to type 'disapparated' to... can't you tell I'm reading the latest Harry Potter? LOL
su6/21 clue, please? ty
I'm only halfway through so no spoilers, please!
su6/21 rhymes with the head manservant, the bu****.
ty jacs
Or the knife, fork and spoon maker, the cu****.
y/w, TO.
Love the goosey pic., TO!:D
jacs, i think they drive them over the border. really.
TO, I think they all fly over here of their own accord. They make a hell of a mess, too.
I feel sad when I hear the skeins calling as they fly away at the end of summer, though.... because it heralds just that.
plese tr 8? i shoiuld be able to figure it but i cannot.. i have lost patience tonight
jacs: yours actually LEAVE?
...Not that we've had any summer to speak of over here yet! (See my flickr pics.)
tr8 = more worthy of putting one's faith in.
Yes, TO. It's too cold for them here in winter.
They go to Greenland, Canada etc., I believe.
well they don't migrate once here. that is the problem.
A few stay.
ty for the clue btw
y/w, TO. Hope you got it?
Still no sign of Hetty! Has she drowned in the grid?
clue for is5/10 please?
Kerry - is5/10 is the ending of the thorny plant associated with Scotland.
Or a tooting instrument - a penny wh*****.
whis*** while you work
ty...don't know that word.... either...lol
It's yucca fibre, btw, used for making sacks, rugs etc.
love the vocabulary lessons i get here :-)
clue for the te7,44 please
Kerry - you've never heard of a th*****? That does surprise me!
no ... heard of that... never heard of an is***
fireworks! jacs are you staying dry? i saw your photos, and the new, too
te7/44 = non Kosher food.
LOL.. i have a rudimentary vocab.... but going to get better after i play this awhile..lol
TO - WELL DONE! Yes, okay... so far. Keeping fingers crossed. The Marlbrook pic is only 3 miles down the road though!
floods are the worst
I know, TO! I've had my house flooded 4 times in the past and one near miss.
don't get it jac, can u give me another clue if possible for the te 7,44 please
te + basketball official + open wide and say **
hey again everyone
4 things really p**d me off the last time it happened... 1. The people whizzing through in their cars deliberately creating 'tidal waves' that pushed more water into the house and into those that had just missed it naturally. 2. Some kids going past and saying, 'Ha! Ha! Your house is flooded!' (My answer is not repeatable here!) 3. A neighbour from over the road complaining to me and my next-door neighbour that she had 'sewage in her garden'. Tough luck, luv! We've got it in OUR HOMES! Want a punch in the mouth?
hi HK
thanks doxy
hi all
yw rnp
4. The neighbour from the other side coming round and saying, 'Oh dear! You've flooded again. It nearly came into my garage!' ... and then buggering off without offering any help!
imust go, either hot flash or getting sick.. later! i had a sample of cannoli cake at market tonight, actually two and the second tasted spoiled. if it was rea;;y cannoli cream, it should n't have been out of the cold. now i have upset sotmach and hot flashes
Oh, and no. 5 came later... the insurance company refused me any more flood insurance. Still haven't given it me back, and premium has not gone down.
feel better TO
hu5, first one, can't figure it out
Oj dear, TO! I hope you feel better soon. I never take those samples offered!
hi & bye TO
hu5 = a sandy hillock. Think of the artist Damien Hi***. (The one that preserved a dead sheep for art.)
Hi Doxy, Hi DR, hu5 anagram of the boo boo word plural
bye TO, Hi HK
hi dawg
jacs - i just got all caught up in some of your photos, what a gorgeous place you live in !!!!! now, where is all that flooding water from, surely not all from rain?
thanks, got it
hiya lbd!
hi dawg and hk
jacs - a regular font of knowledge, who the hell preserves dead sheep for art? wait, right along this tack, all those dust bunnies, great danes under my bed, couch, etc, hey that's art, goddammit!!!!
hi dr
te6,27??? last one, i wanna see fireworks!
Hi, Hell. Well, the water runs off the hills, the rivers burst their banks and the drains and sewers can't cope and they also burst. For us in Worcs and in Hereford and Shropshire an extra water in Wales swells our rivers and our water table.
Hell, you could well have art. Remember Tracey Emim's 'bedroom'? That was art, too, apparently. (Average teenager's room!)
*Emin
some of that stuff is creepy, like the auditorium
jacs - i don't know who that is
you want me i should send you some paper towels :)
The Tate Modern totally escapes me at times.
Google her, Hell.
kp, make the te4.5 above it an adjective
ty dawger
FIREWORKS!!
Hell - This is the room one, entitled 'My Bed'...http://www.saatchi-gallery.co. uk/artists/tracey_emin.htm
Well done, kps.
whoooo hooooo KP
how many words are in this puzzle?
170
I'm pretty sure, Hell, that it was one of her art 'installations' that got cleaned away by the gallery cleaners, who didn't realise it was an exhibit but thought it was litter. LOL
thanks... 139 more to go!
Having said that, I'm pretty sure she's been through art therapy. Some of the best and most heartfelt artwork I ever saw was in the art room at the clinic my daughter was in.
What the hell is the A word in the top most left corner?
But, there you can appreciate it for what it is and what it is saying. Out in the wider world, I'm not so sure...
git - ay4 (Indian nursemaid).
re6/30, second one?
*hk seriously entertaining thoughts of joining british modern art movement* thanks jacs
thanks
re+ if only life were per****, we'd all get along
y/w, Hell and gita. (Sounds nicer than calling you 'git'. LOL)
thanks dawg
jacs - ROFL - just read you 9:43, i sure could use some of those gallery cleaners here
if only life were, hmmm, pertinent
permanent?
Silly Helen! Think 'imago'.
re6/21, last one?
doxy - like, say 'no, thanks', but change the 2nd cons
thanks HK
***ina (thing in yer eye) + utilize
wasn't sure that first one made sense
time to log off, harry is calling. see you all tomorrow
g'night dawg
Hell - I do wish I didn't have to keep looking a Severus Snape when we chat! Whether he turns out to be a goodie or a baddie, he gives me the creeps. LOL
good evening everyone.
'Bye, lbd.
btw, check your books, there are some that are missing pages! specifically 306-39.
sorry jacs - me loves me snap e
Hello bookwomen.
niters lbd
hiya book
hi book
You're into slightly dangerous looking 'bad boys' then, Hell? *grins*
finished mine this afternoon

jacs - i am into men who have deep, sensual voices, with brit accents :)
I wonder how many people Harry Potter has been to bed and in the bath, and on the loo with this week??

e+musical instrument
I don't think I really want to know the answer to that one jac
LOL jacula - well, i've had him to bed
I have, too. LOL
ty
I'm not shy - Harry was in bed, bath and loo with me. :)
doxy - he's a tart! LOL
Bash - ditto.
ok, I had him in bed too.
Finished Harry on Saturday... :)
'The Confessions of Harry Potter' may well be JKR's next book then? *grins*
I would have finished him sooner, but had to work
And, I *heart* Snape. It's all about the Rickman.
so how did you all like the book??
Harry sure seems to ahve a thing for older women...
loved it
I hope you haven't all 'finished' him! I'm not done with him yet!
^5 on that bash
i'm not finished reading it either
we'll need to be careful what we say so Jacula can savor Harry... :)
I'm midway through Chapter 22.
i understand rowling may relent - word is she is writing more potter at present
si5?
No spoilers, please!
tell me if you're going to talk about the book & i'll close my chat
Ditto what Helen just said. Can we go back to clueing?
I'm not going to give away anything and ruin it for others. I just loved it, though
did any of you see the latest Harry movie? We saw it at IMAX which was great with big screen and some minutes of 3D...
now I can get back to my Dracula book
si5 = the end of the French 'mr'.
thanks jac
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
hi minver
hi Min
Babs - Yes, we saw it on Saturday night. My step daughter (12) loved it but me, my other half and my son (23) were disappointed. It seemed to be going somewhere on several occasions but never did.
Hi KerryLou been looking for you
hello minver
et5?
hiya minver
et5 - Lucy' friend
ahhh.jac, it was my favorite of the movies so far...
or a kind of gasoline
et5 = a chemical fluid that sounds like Ms. Merman's first name.
lucy friend? as in i love lucy?
Oh well, Babs. Vive la difference!
yep
fact is, it's the fifth and we were spoiled by the first ones finery relative to the trash being presented at the time. we's getting spoiled.
i cant get that et5 tried all spellings...........are you sure?

Lots of French words in this grid, some of which are disallowed.. ca9 (coffee jug with plunger), flowers...

Hello annmk! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid

Hi harpjane! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
11 left here
oops
hi doxy, it must be smoky down there, i keep hearing stories....
Well done, Hell!
Hello hetty! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
absolutely. not necessarily immediately before the films, but I have read the 6th and waiting for those idiots at Indigo to ship my two copiers that were supposed to be here for the 21st.
Hi Harp.. and, Hetty... where have you been??
su5/18?
su5/18 a drug
the smoke is clearing out now, we are finally getting some rain
Hello brandyjack! How are you doing? Did you finish?
BJ - Do you not think the books are better than the films? Though I did like the Whomping Tree. LOL
thanks une, didn't even see that one
yw :-)
Hi Uneaixoise! How are you doing? Did you finish yet?
usually i like the book better
hey, min! 3 to go :-)
if i really like the book, i won't usually go to the movie because it will just make me mad....
I like the books better, they can only put so much into the movies
Books are almost always better than the films. In the books you can read the characters mind, whereas in the films, they rarely have characters so verbose.
Same here, Harp. Chocolat being one example.
all the stuff they leave out...
anyone need a clue before i go?
BJ and Harp - I agree.
Except Tolkien.
All of his movies are better than the books.
Sometimes, we are far better le4/7 to our own imagination.
he7?
either te7, hk
I don't agree, BJ, re Tolkien.
he7 not him + se4/7
female person he 7/44
te7 - te + gaming official + open wide and say **
he7 - she did it all by he7
te6/27?
he7 = she, her. Just her.
te7/36 - ad ending to previous
can't find the te6/18, first one?
te 7/44-te plus again prefix plus consonant plus **em (used to get someone's attention) dan2bit.
ty
I cannot read his books. Except the Hobbit. Loved it. The rest are enough to bring embarass a bottle of valium.
Minver and Jac--thanks for the greeting. I've been living it up with Stid and co; just now abortively trying to get some pictures into my bio.
te+re 4/4
te+ re4/4
te + re4/4 -- te6/18
te6/27 - school semester (I think you call it?) + upright consonant + sometimes vowel.
te6/27 please?
thanks
great clue minv
bj - i totally agree with you on that -people think i'm crazy when i say that - like it's sacriligeous
Hetty - make sure you put those flickr pics as 'public' and not 'private'. I made that mistake a couple of days ago.
thanks, jac
thanks jac, I needed that one too
I love sacred cow. Preferably sliced and BBQ'd with lots of garlic.
please clue the te6/27 again. i cant get it.
Thank you carra. I try to practice whenever I'm able
adverb ending on te4/5
lol BJ
also cant get the te 7/44
lol bj
te4/5 + 2 letters that make it an adverb
BJ & Hell - I remember that I loved The Hobbit and Lord of The Rings. The rest I kinda struggled with. I'm intending to go back and reread before starting the book his son & grandson recently brought to fruition.
te + bb official for short + l**-ti-d**
I was only a teenager when I read them.
te7, 44= te please basketball official please
I have read Hobbit and LOTR, at least 3 times. love them, and really enjoyed the films too.
te 7/44 is te plus prefix for again plus 6th letter plus say ** at the dentist annmk.
for me those books were pretty much: here's a band of people, they go this way through the forest & get in a fight, then they go that way through the forest & get in a fight, then they go over a hill & get in a fight & then he throws the ring into a volcano, the end
Does anyone have a clue for the te 7/36 word please
ty min.
ty all
sorry, te7= te plus basketball official plus la ti d**
yw
te7/36 = more abruptly or tightly (extension of te5/10)
Hello rnp! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle!
te7, 36=te 5,10 + adverb ending
Actually, not more... just 'in that fashion'.
HK -- just tuned in again and saw your opinion (I think) of the Tolkien books/films and absolutely agree.
ok, i am off, good bye everyone, hope things go better (drier) for you jacs :)
1s fe 5/16?
bye HK
so they didn't do enough fighting..... I had no problem with that. It was his descriptions of every rock in sight 100 years before japanese rock gardens became a craze.........
Bye HK
Hi Minveryork. I'm fine. How r u?
lol - thanks jili - okay so that's bj, jili & me in the club now :)
Me, too, Hell. 'Night, 'night.x
Hi Minveryork -- sorry I missed welcoming you to the puzzle - LOL
Goodbye helenkeller! I'll see you tomorrow in the log!
I am doing well. I started late,I probably won't finish.
Hello jillibus! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
te6/27?
i like detail, but my imagination is usually more than up to filling in the appropriate 'scenery'. The man usurps the readers perogative. The nerve of him.........
I missed welcoming you to the grid before too jillibus!
Fireworks
Hi all, back to find my remaining 23 :)
te 6/27 adds an adverbial ending to the te 4/5 word.
fireworks....
Congratulations doxy1lover on fireworks!Good for U!
BJ - That's my opinion of Henry James's novels. I was forced to study 'Portrait of a Lady' at school and I nearly died of boredom. Having said that, I always hated anything by Jane Austen, too. Now there's a plus for the films... they are far more interesting than the books! Have been thinking of rereading books.
fireworks for me too :-)
Well done, rnp.
Hello mymuseisme! How are you? Welcome to the grid
Andn Doxy!
ty. jac
And Une!
congrats, doxy!
Congratulations rnp on your fireworks!Good for you!
hi min, congrats doxy and rnp!
Congratulations Uneaixoise on fireworks!Good for U!
hi une, bj and jac!
Good night all.
first FE 5/16 & FE 5/18 clue?
I started reading Tom Clancy's Ryan series a month ago. Convoluted adrenaline fest..... I love 1300 page books.... Wish I could read LOTR. Loved that piece of trash space opera by L Ron Hubbard (Battlefield Earth). My paperback pages are starting to get feathered it's been read so often.
thanks for the te6/27, could i have the first te6/18 too?

I have an idea of why some of those books of old are not liked much nowadays. They were written in a time when there were few choices of entertainment, and when the literate classes had plenty of leisure time and not much else to do, so long sentences and elaborate descriptions were a delight. Now we are inundated with vapid "entertainment" and too much to do -- and Hemingway dissected away superfluous language...?
