omg lickety, that's ... disgusting =) How is mrp doing? oww owww OWWWW. i need to go take some calcium
i find xrays scary
my thought exactly, jilli! How are things now, lickety?
Lickety -- quite dramatic and -- it hurts just to look!!!
what's the positioning of the first one, lickety? it's hard to place with no references
have 2 k's -- wonder what the other 3 are!!
nan, there are 7 Ks
jes - the first one is a 3d model from another type of scan - CT scan I think. It's her right humerous - and that the front of the bone - what's behind it is her shoulder blade. mrp is uncomfortable - but doing well.
I have 4 and cannot find the other 3 for the life of me... what else is new
where's ata? the Ks are probably some microscopic sea creature
and how are you, lickety?
ah, i see. that's a hell of sequestrum.
so there are, jilli -- wonder what the other 5 are!
very pretty pictures, unfortunately of not-so-pretty breakingness.
me too, nan - lol
Shalom everyone
i only have 3 of the Ks

im good thanks, one week to go until the big move
just now :)
My friend has had a minor brain bleed (pituitary gland) he is in rehab this week getting back on his feet and hopefully home on Friday.
where are you moving to pink?
***prayers for friend of herin^^
to an area called hackney wick, its across the river from the olympic village that is being built for 2012 games
Thanks. Last couple of weeks were a bit hairy, he couldnt see out the left side and couldnt stand. But hes sounding like his old self. Hopefully we can smuggle him to the car park to see the dog tomorrow. I dont know how hard its going to be to smuggle a 6ft 9in to the car park but well try.
PInk that sounds like a nice area
Oh rite.....better area?...bigger house?
it's all about love - you'll succeed
It all sounds good for him Herin...
it is a better area, i was raised there, its a real tight knit community there, its a 2 bedroom flat with my mum as my neighbour, she lives like 5 metres from my flat in the houses
there's more open space in H Wick isn't there?
hello again :)
well that can't be bad!.....I am off on holiday on Monday (13th) for a week....so will have moved by the time I get back.......so all the best to you....I hope it goes well for you....and don't forget to pack the kettle LAST!!!...lol
It will be all good for him. I hope that he can get out to see the dog he misses the dog. Oh wow. I am in tears. Someone stole a disabled mans playstation portable while he was on a tram. People donated enought money to replace the playstation portable and buy him a playstation 3 wow
HI Mr pres
MRP! yay!
well there was ata, but now there building the olympic village the estate has lost alot of its beautiful views!
hi Mr Pressie how are you feeling today?
pfft to developemetn
ditto herin!
just on our way out to see the kids performance at band camp... thoughy I would say hi hi hi to all, and I am feeling ok today thank you
oh true! yeah great, now you can look at a building site!
Good to see you MrP!
Oh Mr Pres so no embarrassing the kids even though its a parents right to do so.
LOL! will stay away from them to save them any embarrassing moments... see you all later on. :) (waves) bye!
Have a lovely night MR pres enjoy lots and say hi to LIckety too
i dont why they chose to do the olympics in such a residential area, they were better off doing it in enfield or edmonton where there is more space
will get some video for your entertainment too *poof*
bye mr pressie!!!
yah enjoy
you would think, wouldn't you?
it stinks as that was the only real place wild life could be free
are all the bottom A words AR?
please
nite, herin, ata, everyone else
there's no logic to it, is there?!?!?
bye shdy nighty night!!
well persnally I think the Olympics will just be a waste of time and money, but I hope I'm proved wrong
nite shdy
nite shdy....
night shdy!
I thought that it would be better to use Manchester where it was last held (i may be wrong)
Is there a reason why you have changed your flag Pink?
so do i ata...when the plans for the village were being done they were saying that there will be a path that goes through the estate to the village which was really bad, i thought everyone would start fighting or throw the architects in the river, then they said they were going to demolish the estate.
i fancied going on a virtual holiday flask thats all!
ok.....good idea!!!
...still waiting to hear if there is a land order for the entire area
brr its cold out there
guys wha is the name of that disorder, when you get depressed with the winter season?
S.A.D.
S.A.D means?
seasonal affective(ed)? disorder
thanks
back soon
sunny
hi everyone
herin
Hi Andree long time no see!
hey Andree
pe6 clue please/
Good morning/evening all.
nm...morning Ha
ick, pink. let's hope not!
*Haz
hi haz!
what's that for ata?
hey Haz
sorry, for the land order - I had to restart my laptop so got left behind in the chat!
thought it was a clue ata, lol
Morning Haz!
Hello all!
it probably could be ... not sure for what though LOL
i hope not ata..there will be alot of people without homes and children without a school to go to!!
*fingers crossed* hopefully even our govt can't be that stupid!
Such touching faith.
phantom: entrant
oh yes LOL
You've noticed that the single entrail is here again?
nothing surprises me anymore, if that was to happen they would either have to find or build properties that are similar in specs which is problem 'cause there isn't that many around
its a common and useful thing that entrail!
It's our pathway to fame and fortune, if we can only agree about what's to be in it.
no, nothing surprises me anymore either! well ... hopefully
leeches! all leeches!
THE DRESS surprised you.
oh. yes. true. THE DRESS surprised everyone!
Maybe the late Paula Yates meant to call her daughter Leeches instead of Peaches.
she lives in Faversham. Bob Geldof lives in an old priory here. random info
He's starting to grow into his scruffiness.
its funny bumping into him in Tescos
Does he not steer his trolley very well?
good morning all - been working for what seems like forever on this grid and need one more to finish and finally go to bed! anyone have a clue for the tr5,10, the one right before the opposite of false?
morning babbz!!
not very .... am still always in awe though of any big star who happily shops in tescos looking like crap on a saturday morning
not that far asyet babbz
good morning !!! I clearly have had too much caffeine and probably won't be able to fall asleep - it's 3:40 AM here in Chicago
You wouldn't get Posh Spice doing that, Atalante.
but I'd love to finish this dang grid before I sleep or it's liable to bug me in my dreams, lol.
like a track babb
wonder if she eats entrail salad?
TR 5/10 T+lat**** (bathroom)
Does she eat at all?
doubt it
the TR 6/18 is what I am stuck on
Morning Babbz
tr6,18 is tr+ nothing in french + second vowel
good morning meliae
that was a lame-o clue, sorry - tr6,18 is t + "nothing" in french plus the second vowel
tr5/10 like the fork prong and tr6/18 has extra vowel in the middle
oh ursh, you're a lifesaver - thanks and firewords, at last!
I need a little help to finish. Can I get a clue for the pe6,21 and both of the sa6,18s?
Well done, and off to bed!
oh babbz - now I have Edith Piaff singing "No Regrets" in my head
LOL does anyone need clues!
Actually, I only need the first sa6,18.
sage
pm sa6 - bad spelling of father christmas
saint
sain

sorry

much better clue, haz - i stink at giving clues
sa 6 -- start with frisco and add what meets the road on a car: ***e

LOOOOL
ur5/12 - what Mr Onassis's mother said to him.
It's saskatoon. But I don't see how it fits into the pe.
thanks meliae, sure did! :)
its ok pigeon man i found it funny
ur 5 -- add an opera solo: ***a

ty

ok this PT word has to be some obtuse foriegn word that only professors use while they are buried nose deep in some greek book, lol
well done pigeonman
my google does not say saskatoon
yay Pigeon grats
thanks for the help. gotta run. 1 am and I'm not as young as I used to be. zzzzzzzzzzzz
bye pigeonman and congrats !!
deciding if i should go to bed or finish ( 19 more words) lol
pt6 - pt plus old Fashioned term for Ireland, or one of the Misses Walton.
na7?
doh I know that word lol
I so love those weird pt words.
na 7 -- meaner
sprite, next time you come on GW, pop into the guild hall!
na7 - comparative for a not nice word
ty
more onery Carra
ok, will do! On my way....
Gw? guild wars?
ar6?
ar6 - being more accomplished in creative design than another
ar6 someone who takes ar4/4 to another level
ty
yup meliae
ooo I play world of warcraft
I beta tested Guild Wars
GW is fab :)
does anyone knit? whats an average # of stitches wide is a scarf?
bbl 30 left to find, have a good day all!!
carra, it depends on the size of the needles you are using.
I spend so much time in wow, I just could not justify another game now lol
bye pink.
ok pink have a great day
LOL same with me and GW
also depends on ply of wool carra
it has a 6 on the needle
ooh
So, really, the answer is, it depends. The smaller the needle, the thinner the ply and the more stitches needed.
carra, how wide is the needle
best thing to do is knit a proof, measure it, then decide how wide you like your scarf and multiply the amount of stitches :)
ok I need a clue for the an 5/10 pleas the 1st one
oh, nevermind. I think I remember that a six is pretty thin, you might want to go with 30 stitches or so, but you can just guess what width you want as you go
thanks
a 6 is probably 0,6 cm so not very thin, a nice needle for a scarf.
an 5 -- add what joyce kilmer said only god can make: ***e
The first an5/10 differs from the second in only the last vowel used.
ri5/10 please
time for bed night!
ri plus the picnic pest to make a Frenchman laugh
re 5 -- add a pismire
how many words are there today?
147 words today.
thanks
great clue thanks BabbleRabble
hmm Haz I tried the other vowel on the end and it did not work
then yet the OTHER vowel, meliae... that works :)
melia, the an5/10 can be finished off with the first two vowels (though one at a time)
later gators. Still recovering from nasty viral infection and seem more tired than usual. Thanks for the clues. :)
Bye sunny.
small wonder you are tired. Rest well and get real better soon. Bye sunny
thx haz
You're welcome, Andree.
meliae, if you ever change your mind about GW, let me or Ata know... we will gladly make you a member of our guild! And introduce you to all the GW fun and incredibly detailed gameplay :)
oh yesssss
I sure will =)
have you ever check out world of warcraft?
yes, I did. For me GW was more beautiful by far. Some members of my former guild used to be addicts of WoW too, though they are now GW fans.
But I do know someone who liked WoW better, because you can have much more skills at a time there :)
yes, GW is sooo much prettier
I honestly have not played it since I beta tested it, and it was a pain it kept breaking which is to be expected in a beta testing, lol
have you played any other MMOs?
I bet! I have played while there was a bug that caused terrible lag once, it drove me bananas LOL.
nope, I come from a much more traditional gaming background. pen and paper LOL
I played Runescape for a short while, to check it out to see if my son was allowed to play it. But nothing else, no.
I love beta testing games I have done scads but sometimes it is very very frustrating
oh, and I have played Unreal Tournament, almost forgot! My very first 1st person shooter, lol.
mud games?
mud wrestling.... YAY! :)
I have played, Asherons call, Horizons (flopped) dark and light, WoW, dark ages of camelot, everyquest, and beta tested Lord of the rings, plus a bunch more beta testing of game that never quite made it, lol
oh, yeah, I've played a good few LotR games
wow, that is quite a lot. I think you would just love GW the way it turned out. The 3rd campaign, Nightfall, is near perfection.
I used to play WoW with Mr Fishbulb, but I couldn't deal with the time commitment to it - he still plays (ALL the time) but I think he's waiting for some Piratey game to come out now of a similar ilk.
M.U.D. Multi user dungeon game i think is what it stands for
Asheron's call... now that sounds like a Dark-Hunter spinoff!
I don't know, meliae... what is a dungeon game?
Asherons call was very popular and still fairly is, but the graphics and stuff is pretty old its going on 10 years running I think
pen and paper roleplaying games are sometimes referred to as MUDS
there is a new campaign coming out end of this month... if it grants me a free demo key, I can send it to you, meliae. You can play for 10 hours of so for free then, without having to buy the game. Would you like that?
Yes wow can be time consuming if you let it, I have to set timers LOL
hahaha - meliae - great plan with the timers, but then don't you ever just say 'ooh, five more minutes' or 'i'll just finish this instance / quest" lol
timers are only there to ignore!
yes sometimes but its a reminder how long I have been playing since you tend to lose track of time
thats where the problems start for me - Mr FB simply cannot stop playing it. He wakes up in the night and plays, why, he's playing right now. I really enjoyed WoW but then I liked seeing my friends / sleeping / going outside too sometimes!
and I thought thirr was a word.... like.. "I like it when you shake it right thirr..."
and I thought thirr was a word.... like.. "I like it when you shake it right thirr..."
oh yes, but so do I, Fishbulb! And I like babbling, and knitting, and reading... I love GW but I will not let it take over my life.
I haev days where I just play GW. and then other days (more often!) where I'll log on for an hour or so. And other days (occasionally!) when I dont log on at all!
oopss. sorry for doublle post
yes me too I try to play the most on week-ends which is why I am hardly ever here, or dont chat when I am want to get the puzzle done and usually go to bed!
nice thing about GW is that the quests aren't that time consuming. Some missions are though.
during the week I rarely log into wow
meliae: if you would like to have the free key when the new campaign starts, just send me an email. Addy is in the profile, just leave out all spaces.
but you can easily play for an hour and get a good bit done inGW
ok I will do that I will have to purchase the game first though
not with the free key you don't!
fish what realm does your Hubby play on?
oh neat!
the free key is free, mel, you just d/load the game and play for a few hours
do you need a credit card to play?
oh, and GW does NOT have a monthly fee. It is a once-only price for the game and after that, you can play as much as you like for nothing more.
Mr Fishbulb just shouted out "Death Wing for Horde, Tarron Mill for Alliance" meliae
LOOOOL
no, you don't. You can buy the game in a store, with cash if you like.
I think thats the big difference for me, I dont want to pay every month to play!
ok I will check into that
back later, must have some dinner
nor me, Ata, LOL! I love this concept. Just buy the game and after that, just play on and on :)
tell him to go to Shatarath and listen to the live band when it hits the top of the hour, lol
bye Andree, enjoy!
enjoy your dinner =)
thanks meliae - he says he already knew that (but then he says that about everything!)... i'll listen out on the hour and see what he's up to lol
well I used to drink too much and I figure staying home and playing wow I am saving a fortune, lol
what server is he on Fish?
absolutely! Playing games like that require the use of both hands the whole time.... I really snack a lot less when I play!
definitely!
13 words to go and I am hopelessly stuck I think
meliae he plays on Death Wing for Horde, Tarron Mill for Alliance
morning Babblers
morning NonoNanette
hi Nanette
oh I play on Lightbringer Alliance and Black dragonflight for Horde
grin, wonderful lingo this is :)
the others are probably thinking we have lost our minds
TE 6/24 please
sometimes I am certain they are right about that, meliae ;)
too darn funny
hi all, back for a quick go at a few more before bed.
hello Fran
hi mel!
wb Fran :)
hi again sprite!
i hope ata has you caught up on The Dress video.
dress video?
hang on a sec
http://tinyurl.com/2b8vku
go watch this
AHHHH! THE DRESS!!
lol, i don't think i used enough CAPS first time. :-)
sprite's gone quiet, she may be in shock.
probably. there is part 2 and part 3 too
Morning all.
hi jac!
I am still modelling THE DRESS. *grins*
i need to see part 3
Fran!!! That is hilarious! She walks like a duck... and does not look happy at all. I loved the limo part :D
good morning Jac
morning Jac
hey Jac!
yes, we may have to tell people she's a relative jac. :-)
Jac i was looking at the pictures you have of the flooding yesterday
I feel the bridesmaids have been neglected.
it is so very reminiscent of what we went thru in 1972, I really feel for those affected
i think that was all our favorite...can you imagine having to be rolled and jimmied into the limo?
EEK, Fra. Nooo!
*FraN
lol haz, great pic too.
I was kinda feeling sorry for her. THat moment when she drinks that glass of champagne, lying on her stomach in the limo... she looks totally depressed.
don't worry jac, no one would believe it.
Haz - Love the pic.
Can you imagine their brains going 'How do we top this?'
Welcome back to loonyland, sprite. Good holiday?
don't feel sorry sprite, it was her dream wedding!
Nanette - Yes, the flooding was grim.
great holiday :) Thanks for asking. We relaxed and had fun!
fab bridesmaid pic Haz!
somehow I feel that dream turned into a nightmare somewhere along the way, Fran... just look at her eyes. And the way she has to walk, grin.
Jac not the dress
i wonder if there's a good shot of the girl in the mermaid dress.
Isn't it, Atalante? Especially when you realise that their tops are semi-see through.
you're probably right sprite. :-)
pe 6/21 please
My best friend said 'oh my my eyes'
everyone
mermaid dress... that very bluegreen slick dress someone in the church wears?
they are? how *tasteful*!
yes sprite, i'm thinking that would make a good icon
mel, i don't have that yet
I liked that dress, lol
much easier to walk around in, anyway
and the christina aguilera on speed kid
I wondered... that black figure bending over behind the bride entering the church... was that a monkey?
meliae - sorry. Don't have pe6/21 yet.
brb, watching it again
It was possibly Michael Jackson getting in under the dress. We think he was part of the entertainment at the reception.
There has also been speculation that a whole family of illegal immigrants was smuggled in under the dress, hence the bride's awkward gait.
lol Haz!
it certainly looks that way!
part 2 - http://www.heatworld.com/Article.aspx? articleid=1872&title=More+stuff+from+t he+best+chav+wedding+EVER part 3 - http://www.heatworld.com/Article.aspx? articleid=1877&title=Now+see+INSIDE+th e+chavs%e2%80%99+wedding+reception
I should tinyurl those
*click*
that would be great :)
watched part 3, love the "I make Jordan look like Audrey Hepburn" comment at the bottom.
http://tinyurl.com/2kdqre
http://tinyurl.com/26m4dn
te 6/24 please
hmm, don't have that either mel, sorry!
Pe 6/21 clue -PE letter after q followed by 3 vowels
thanks infernal
te + the first three letters of ****mag, streetwised
thank you
Or te plus the angel's instrument, rearranged
I am playing the playstation i have the chat up so if i can find the word i will
yay fran, you're a clue :P
thank you
thanks Ata for the tinyURLs.... funny movies!
woo hoo, i've always wanted to be a clue. :-)
I'm really not sure whether the bridesmaids or the bride was The Most tasteless though
a hair finish, I would say... is that the correct term?
did you see that the bride's dress was semi-transparent on top also
2 left, tr 5/10 please the first one
oh, sprite, you didnt get the vital statistics. the dress weighed 200lb, and was 40 foot around
Actually, the more I see from that wedding, the more I focus on the bride's eyes. She is very tired and/or really sad, I think.
oh yes, for added tackiness
mel, do you have the oregon tr***? not sure if it's the first though
sprite - I felt that about her, too.
good grief and I thought that southern belle wedding dress I wore was bad enough
200lb???? that is 100K? nooooooooo!~
doh lol thank you
I feel awfully sorry for her, its obviously not what she thought it would be. But ....
sprite, i think it was just her (badly applied) makeup
I don't think so, Fran... it is those eyes themselves. I second Ata's feeling.
but .... if-you-want-a-200lb-tacky-wedding-dres s-and-tacky-wedding-from-hell ....
The eyes are the windows to the soul...
absolutely, Ata... she could have expected it would be hell... but still I feel sorry for her. Your wedding day should be one of the best in your life, not suffering.
they're (in)famous now, at least for the next 15 seconds.
ok no fish pleas e tr 4/4
saying that, I had a wonderful wedding day, but if anyone had taken photos of me by the time of the reception I would have looked disconsolate. I was sooo tired, sooo just wanting to go home
hello all - just arrived, sorry to be nosey but who are you talking about?
hi scary!
hi deb
Hi, deb. All is explained on mine and Haz's icons and I have the 3 urls for the videos on my profile.
mel, first tr4/4 i have is tr + friendly alien with the glowing finger
oh good, hoped you grab all 3 for your profile
It was a bride from ITV's 'UK's Youngest Brides' programme.
me too ata I could not sit down in my dress, it was 100 degrees that day I was wilting, the only way I could halfway sit was with my hoops under the dress up around my waist LOLOL
Ata - You got the tinyurls just before me. Thanks.:)
did they say how old the bride and groom were?
Ahh - i'll have a look in a bit, didnt see the program
fireworks finally! I was not using the TR from the bottom when I was trying to monkey it
she was 17 or 18
was your dress at least pretty mel?
yay mel!!!
yes it was beautiful
We wondered how you go to the loo in a dress like that? A normal dress with train is difficult enough to 'gather up' and I remember a friend who had hoops in her's needing help to 'go'.
wow, that's young...explains the acne
Gone with the wind in white is what it was
Maybe she had a catheter fitted for the day??
eek!
it would be impossible. smply impossible
Yep Jac thy are a major pain that is for sure
we had a glorious wedding day, I did NOT wear a terrible dress and we partied into the night without wilting. Our whole day was build on the agreement WE would enjoy ourselves ;)
sounds nice mel, real southern belle look, eh?
Deb - I believe the programme is repeated next week.
congrats mel
yeah you flip the hoops up over your back they kind of fold up according style ~laughing so hard here remembering~
wanna see, mel!
not the going to the loo part, just the dress. :-)
I will have to dig out some wedding pics and scan them and then I can show you
woot!
*very big grin*
I got married at 19, had a baby at 20, separated at 21, divorced at 22. Decided after that to steer clear of weddings
it will be a few days those pics are buried deep in the ex hubby box, lol
Oh, I dunno, fran - the 'loo' part is amusing Mel. She might like to show it to us. LOL
good idea, deb. get it all out of the way early!
that would turn one off of weddings for sure deb!
I can imagine, deb! :(
oh I have a real lady like one of me with my dress up around my waist trying to adjust the garter in the dressing room rofl
We'll have to have a wedding pics theme day. Wait until I've got my new scanner installed though.
"marry in haste repent at leisure" springs to mind - and I wasnt even pregnant when we married - just young and silly
i actually have one of mine (we got married at the beach) already scanned
how old are you, mel? if you dont mind me asking, its hard to know if ppl haven't got profiles with info in!
I need to try and fix that darn scanner here.
i'll submit it to babbler as coming from you jac. (the theme idea)
I have a few picures of me just in the hoops part too it looks like I am wearing some kind of torture device lol
I am 48
hee! I always thought you were younger :)
but it was all lightweight it didnt weigh much at all
All my photos are still on my old pc. Am still waiting for stuff to be transferred over. Also, had to buy new scanner/printer/photocopier a couple of days ago as son and ex-hubby managed to break my new one by pulling the paper out of the front instead of the back. GRRR.
heck no I have 7 grandchildren!
meliae - Look forward to seeing those pics when you dig them out.;)
Fran - okay ((re the theme).
Jac.... now calm down... don't kill them right away... give it a day or two..... ;)
ooh jac, GRRR is right.
meliae - Will you be going pro to show us pics or give us a url to find them from here?
you can see the babies, well some of them here http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?f useaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=47 876036
sprite - I'll calm down when I see the colour of their money! I've taken a 3 year 'insurance' thingey out to cover that kind of thing this time and they can pay the cost of that, too.
wow mel, you're a hip grandma with your own myspace page. :-)
I am computer nerd lol
hey sprite, can you point me at those last two KU words i'm missing? i have ku4/9...monkeys ran out of steam
Goodness! It's nearly 11.30am and I'm not dressed yet. BBL.
i can go to sleep in peace with Ks done then.
oh my, jac has been babbling in the buff?
those were my last ones too, from the K. Let me think of a clue.
Fran - LOL. No. Nightshirt & dressing gown. Too hot in those. Off to put less on.*grins* TTFN
:-)
ok, let's try this... if something is painful, it h***s. Change first letter. Add a vowel to the end. Plural for the 6.
perfect. thanks!
pfew, glad you got it from that :) Kinda hard to clue, somehow.
cool, now i know what they mean too, i'll never miss those again! (wishful thinking)
just when we thought we knew all the weird k's ....
i kept trying the first 4 letters, didn't think to add on to it like that.
I somehow managed to monkey them lucky guesses for the most part
wtg mel
the KA 5/18 first one was a typo I was going for the 2nd ka 5/18 lol
lol, funny how that happens, kind of like fremd from the other day.
such a stupid word, that one
I agree ata
it better show up again while i still remember it. :-)
lol yes!
getting too late here, last 29 will wait until morning.
hey hey hey you 2, stop asking for K grids!
my hardest word was the first AN 5 haz kept cluing it for me but I was not using the far right vowel for the ending and could not figure out what she was talking about, for the longest time
who us? never! we want fremd again. :-)
we were talking about fremd!
oh, that is called babble blindness. Very common affliction in this game. Usually passes in the end ;)
ah, ok, I can live with fremd. ;)
to great embarrassment, usually
i'm off to bed then...have a good day everyone!
I kept reading the clue and looking and thinking I was going crazy lol
night fran!
sleep tight fran
goodnight Fran I have meds in 20 mins then I am off too
night Fran, sweet dreams to you :)
((hugs)) to all!
I remember the whole babble crew clueing me a 4 letter word and me not finding it for at least 30 minutes. I felt sooooo stupid.
I am hungry thinking about making some bacon and poached eggs
yes, its very embarrassing when the word is "tent" or "sent" or something
when I cant figure it out shhhh ~talks in a whisper~ I just ditch it and ask a few hours later lol
ata said a wooooooorrrrrrrdddddd!!!!!!
Ata said a word, ata said a word ata said a word I am telling
oh poo. lol
owwwww Ata... penalty box for you!
hey movie my man!
cant go to penalty box. can't walk!

woooot ARB!
Sprite, how are you doing?
just back from holidays. Enjoyed ourselves very much and I managed to take it real easy. Trip back was hell though, so I am hurting all over today... will spend most of this day sitting behind the pc ;)
What made the trip so bad? Sitting in one place for too long?
yeah, it was a 450 km trip and it took us 8 hours because of the traffic jams. I can sit in one position for about 10 minutes, so traveling is hard anyway and this was wayyyy too long. But still, the vacation was worth it!
Good think we have selective memories and I hope you'll remember the good part of the vacation and conveniently forget the 8-hour drive home.
good thing
oh yes, already am doing exactly that. We had a very relaxing and fun vacation. I soooo enjoyed the kids and my hubby doing fun things. And I could actually enjoy staying 'home' and watching a DVD, did not feel left out. I am learning to make the best of the unavoidable and that is a very good thing!
smart of you
:D
how are you doing, ARB?
Good. We are planning a big party for our 50th wedding anniversary in September, as well as a Sabbath service in the synagogue, so I've learning to interpret the dots and dashes in the Hebrew text which are musical notes (Trope -- a babblet). My voice is not great, but I am trying hard.
wow! That sounds great, ARB. It will be a very special celebration :)
50 years of marriage... that is great as well. I remember that celebration from both couples of grandparents. It is really special.
G'd morning Babblers!
I only remember one aunt and uncle who celebrated, when I was about 15. ANd I thought, no I KNEW, they were OLD people! I married young and was fortunate to have a partber to grow with.
ARB, our 45th is on September 9. I am glad to meet someone else with a "record". do we get double social security?
lol, my father's parents were 25 when they married. Their invitation text was: "when we got married, together we were 50 years. Now we are 50 years together."
hi Lori!
Congrats ARB on your pending 50th Anniversary. Mom and Dad's 60th is almost upon us. It's very exciting.
Inge, our 50th is Sept 8.
oh yes, finding a partner for life is a blessing indeed. I hope to see that anniversity too one day with my husband. We just had our 10th last year.
Congrats - i have married 28 and hope hubby is able to be around to mark 50
And maybe social security will surprise us!!!
is your husband not well, anawalt?
The biggest blessing is good health -.
Dad, who ias 85, and you never know what he'll say. When asked what the key was to being married 59 years, he said "live a long time, and have a workshop". LOL
Amen
LOL Lori :)
tools in garge help at my house
switching over to babble expert, BRB
Well, may everyone here, live long and build a workshop!
I second that!
me too - garage would be cleaner
Good things from my family to yours in that regard! :-)
ARB, do you have any advice on a lasting marriage?
I've been spending the last 50 years trying to figure it out. Love, I guess.
Love, that would seem to be the key. Hard to imagine any other possibility. Again, congratulations from my family to yours.
Thank you
good morning
G'd morning green!
morning
I think every other advice would fit under LOVE anyway. :)
hi green
good morning greenbay. Is that GreenBay Wisconsin?
I'm thinking green is a cheese head.... :)
well I do like the Packers but I don't live in Green Bay
I'm originally from Milwaukee
i grew up in West Virginia - loved the packers
ok
a cheese head???
they only wear cheeseheads on tv
A cheese head is a fan of the Green Bay Packers, a U.S. football team (NFL) LOL green
Sprite -- the state of Wisconsin is the cheese-making capital of the US. GreenBay Packers is a professional football team in Wisconsin and the fans are called cheeseheads and they wear this wierd foam rubber thing on their head which is supposed to be a huge hunk of Swiss cheese
sprite, it's not a slag or anything, just a term.
we Dutch are called cheese heads sometimes... in the dutch translation of course (kaaskop).
funny :) Thanks for the explanation.
Hi what did i miss
we should send a cheesehead to you
hi herin
Now, here's a question, and I'm being naively serious. Is cheese head an insult comment to the Dutch?
morning all...
***please don't laugh, just curious***
HI back
hi carlee
G'd morning herin, carlee!!!! :-)
yes, it is. Depending on the tone of voice it can be very rude or just joking around, but it is namecalling.
hi carlee
so..cheeseheads are the topic of conversation..i need coffee..bad
I just made coffee.. here have some carlee
sprite, that's what i suspected. Thanks for the reply. ***hands carlee fresh coffee***
thank the heavens above for coffee...
I love the conversations today :) We cover a lot of ground here!
***13 words in 15 minutes is bad, right?***
Urban dictionary says 1. An avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. 2. A native of Wisconsin.
its my pleasure
Never heard it as a derogatory term
Coffee is the nectar of the gods, IMO***
I'm both -- even with the 8,000 miles from Wisconsin
here's to you Lori lol
lady: in holland it is. Not in english.
Lori: not at all bad!
LOL thanks green. I lack focus sometimes......Okay, a lot of times.
i hurt all over...and I didn't drink a drop of alcohol..or inhale it..or any other "bad" thing for u....and I work in an hour
Carlee what did you do?
Cold shower? Hot shower? Lots of caffiene? what will work?
we had a neighbourhood party... here..and I was in bed by 11:30
how come carlee?
I have to mow the lawn this morn before I go to work this afternoon carlee. ***hands carlee Extra Strebgth Advil gel caps***
did the shower thingS...now working on the caffeine
I may have been out of the loop. I was making muffins and gluten free biscuits and choc biscuit slice. Sadly cant share they are for one sickie and his g/f that i am kidnapping tommorow
Hope it's a cumulative thing and suddenly you won't ache.

hi mum....sorry was away from desk for a moment..( getting more COFFEE )
green, the 6 is more of the 4.
May I please have a clue for the Pt ?
I read somewhere: life is really very fantastic. You just need a peculiar sense of humour to see the fun of it.
Good morning Carlee. How was your dinner party last night?
Amen, Sprite
ooh nm just found it
yay KristineN
it went very well thanks... the birthday girl LOVED it...
Just add a girls name Kristine
oh good, Carlee
and I truly believe that life is what you make of it, eventually... not belittleing the problems one can face, but still, it is the inner attitude that makes life good or bad in the end. I just have trouble living that theory :)
I worked out tonight to turn a 30min meal into an hour cooking :) Dont mess with the chef
ok, on that note I am off for today. Have fun all and see you tomorrow in babblecity :)
we all do at times sprite... but...typically... my experience has been..things happen for a reason...
later sprite..enjoy
I agree, carlee!
Have a great day Sprite!
I agree, Sprite. But sometimes it is very hard to live that theory. It is a great test sometimes

Go Col. Annie its a bit twisty

pulls out eraiser
i keep beginning words with "str" and have no place to go with it
Ok i tried the muffin it was calling me

Afternoon Haz et al Thought I had better make a start on the grid!!
Haz, if you havent finished, then it is indeed difficult, i am finding it very twisty and vowels in all the wrong places
Herin, the top on the left is the opposite of exit
Hello FMitch!
I made a start earlier on then ran out of time. There's a distinct lack of vowels in the middle.
Love the icon Haz, good to see the understated modest wedding party again.
Sorry the one that is closet to the chat
Such elegance has to be acknowledged.
herin, phonetically a snail
I don't know, herin, but I wish it were eureka
haz, I see Spangle
LOL!! do you have sun today or ...?
Rain, I'm afraid. Dull and damp.

Poor Annie - seeing Spangle instead of a blushing bride?

Annie try F5 to refresh or just click on Haz's icon to at lest see the "delightful couple"

Haz, Spangle is a pleasure to view, will try refreshing
I need the E next to the G

LMC, fr....going right up the column
hi Liz
ty nono
hi annie, how are you?
8s please
Its not romantic its disgusting, sorry
I'll have to change my icon, I'm not at work now.
fine, Owl and you, my dear
You'll have the ageist police after you.
Oh i got the stats of that dress. Cost£6,000 50,000 Swarovski crystals 20 underskirts 3 weeks to make 90 minutes to put on 12 types of fabric 9 stone in weight 40 feet wide
clues for the fr's? I'm missing one
i'm hollding up ok.....: D
herin, I am assuming the 50 year old is the groom, cant see the picture, so I am hoping he has tons of money, that always helps in May-December weddings
The groom was 50 the bride was 18
no doubt.
The groom featured in my picture is 20. The 50 year old featured in a different segment of the programme.
got em!
we see a lot of may december marrages here in the states
I am going nuts - any clues for the first tr 4 i have tried everything!
No Annie, just 2 odinary people living in a small house. They were obviously very much in love but how long it will last is another question.
The "sarcy" comment was about your wedding comment, by the way. LOL
speaking of may-dec, just curious re "age of Love" whom did the guy pick?
fr8/55--more worried
te8/50 - how old are your canvas dwellings?
te8, canvas shelter + Rock of A*** (hymn)
ikeyak for first tr4 us the t in bottom line
lovely clue haz, thanks
the 25 year old TO
You're welcome.
thanks nono, I didn't see that tr at all
last 8 -please
OMG! WHAT A SURPRISE!!!!
pr8 - being more attractive
Just spotted the k, think I will leave that for a while
shocked me, i was sure he was going to pick the 48 year old
Yes, I have the k in quarantine for a while.
oh come on now are you serious?
If i had a 18 year old and a 50 year old wanted to marry her id say no accompanied by the threat of knee breakers if he ever went near her again
thanks nono
She's an adult, though. And is prison really the way forward?
Well adult or not its not right
I would think you'd have better luck raising your daughter with the character to see past the 50 yr old's money.
Did he have money, though? I didn't see the whole programme.
Hello Vi
Thats a very good point Vic. I dont know we thanks gods dont have that trash but money or not wrong
No he didn't Haz
Hello, FMitch. Hello, all. I've been lurking with much amusement.
why is it wrong, herin?
Woot Ata :)
And another county heard from! Hello, Ata.
I didn't get the impression there was money around from the little bit I saw of them.
pr8 please
pr8/45 -- better looking
pr8 - being more attractive than another.
I don't know a thing about any of this, so assume that any comments I make are inserted merely for the dubious pleasure of stirring up the hornet's nest.
As in, who could imagine a pr8 bride than my icon?
IM BACK FROM CAMP
ty
hi Goldies wb
Stir away dear heart Oh dear
thanks
We like to st4. To the penalty box, FMItch.
how was camp?
great
(ooooh, looks like I escaped the penalty box on a technicality of tense. Close call!)
Kayley was just 18 when she wed her 50-year-old husband Phil. Phil is nine years older than Kayley's mum and Kayley is four years younger than Phil's youngest child Thats the scary thing
Flip, pottles off to inspect the cupboard in the PB
I refrained from blowing the whistle, Vicuna, but it didn't go unnoticed.
I'm sure it didn't, oh eagle-eyed Haz!
Why can't I spell pootles correctly, le sigh
I thought pottles worked just as well, though.
is pottles a cross between a pootle and a potto?
Pottos do really pootle around, now you mention it, Ata.
I'd smile but the cupboards are empty too, it's not fair
You're not going to work potties into this?
That would be Evanonut's job, were she here.
Empty cupboards? That's against the Geneva Convention.
My, my, DON'T we have differing views (says she, saying NOTHING) Jordan's a national treasure though LOL Welcome back Goldies, we've been thinking of you, good camp?
Ok il stand my ground on this one she was 16 when they met
pottos pootling to potties
yes, we've really been thinking of you, goldies
I know!! *bottom lip wobbles*
if we are onthe subject, how about those who import their young brides?
if we are onthe subject, how about those who import their young brides?
ty ata
But counselling services may be available.
Fine, FMitch. Here's some water and a dry crust of bread. Now no more complaining!
Is this a TV program re: the bride and groom?
My new icon is an inspiration to all who are feeling sorry for themselves (like ME, I'm sick of rain)
'If you have been affected by the absence of goodies in the penalty box, counselling will be available by contacting the following numbers'
Yep. I googled some more info
welcome back, goldies
In fact, I'll donate it to the penalty box.
Mother of said girl was devastated and not even invited to the wedding.
Goes for Haz's offer of councelling rather than Vi's meanie mean offer. Bread and water indeed.
we would love to have some of your rain here in the midwest
anywoot my whinning isnt get this finished. Welcome back Goldie
whining or whinnying?
pe6 please
Counselling's all very comforting, but it can't keep you from starvation!
Probably not invited because she went round to the bridegroom's house with heavies in attendance. You can't attend a wedding from jail.
both really :)
last night it was 56 in bethlehem!!!! we sold out of sweatshirts!!
Ana, you may benefit from my icon too then, too little is as bad as too much I realise.
pe6 - latin through (as usual), follow with three vowels, not in alphabetical order
*putting chocolate and macadamia nuts into the penalty box*
Wow TO, how's the music going?
nope haz the groom is a biker and the bride was a church goer.
Thanks Annie, but I am sneaking out of the box and diving into the grid before I cause any more troubles. Tee hee :)
which ones are we going on about now? the older guy and young girl? they actually looked really happy and sorted
*an utterly wrecked hurshy enters the grid*
"was" a church-goer? Sounds like somebody's burning bridges.
been carousing with deckhands?
Oh dear, what's up hurshy?
Need repairs, hurshy?
and aloy joins also.. hi all, sorry you are wrecked hurshy
50 year old guy Phil 18 year old girl . If he had sex with her when she was 16 when they met that by law is statutory rape. The girl turned her back on God to please him
nope
just being hurt by people. again.
no, it isn't herin. 15, maybe
Hurshy what did you do love. Hand you a hot choc and marshmellows
People have a way of doing that, don't they.
Yooohoo Aloy
*hands over chocolates*
i don't even want chocolates
{{{hurshy}}}
It looks like it's going to be counselling, then.
(Hey, Ata, what are you doing in New Zealand, by the way?)
too early for a rum and coke? yoooooohooooooo FM!
This time, Haz, I think you're right.
This time? What do you mean, this time?
(isn't haz always right?)
I mean as opposed to TO starving in the penalty box.
(Sound of short 49 year old pulling herself up to inconsiderable height)
Well done, Vicuna, neatly sidestepped!
*hands Haz orange box to stand on*
mitch, we're playing catch up because of extremely hot and humid weather till wednesday. we sold out of sweathsirts liast night
I'd pretty much always choose food over counselling. I'm not much a of a counsellee. But in this case, hursh, it sounds like the counselling is needed more urgently.
Thank you - the curse of shortness!
hurshy, you have to develop a shell.
Ok Hursh a shot of whiskey followed by a good cup of tea?
babble or professional, vi?
That's a question only you can answer, my dear.
Never worry about the professionals when you've got keen amateurs like us.
From one extreme to another TO!
We're much more cheap, and twice as cheerful.
Not jaded, either!
:)
Except for lizmac who WILL keep moaning about the weather.
ar6,18??/
hahahahahaha
ar6/18 - being more Mr Garfunkel than another
ty
ar6/18 - more inclined to wear black turtlenecks and hang out at poetry slams
goldies, if you have ar4/4, it's more of it
Haz, that was very funny, me and hubby are in stiches
I like Vicuna's clue.
It's that kind of day, bichon, I may be feeling slightly hysterical due to lack of sunshine.
hello everyone
Haz, your clue is of our vintage
Hello loredana!
shame the F isn't that side of the board *grin*
gotta go breakfast see yall later camp was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi loredana
bye, goldies..
Glad it worked for you, bichon!
Hi any one i missed
tricky grid by the looks ... Haz what you been up to getting married again!!
hey herin
Its a curly one Lore
Yes, husband and I decided to renew our vows. A simple little affair. Don't I scrub up well?
going cross eyed already lol
Gfaw!! funny lore
how many years has it been since the first wedding haz?
you sure do getting younger by the day
Those must be your two daughters in pink then, Haz?
hello FM
It's been 25, hurshy, we thought we'd have a simpler affair this time around.
That's them, you're right, Vicuna.
sounds well advised, haz
FMitch is the other.
so i guess theres no cooking sherry left then??
hi lore
Spangle is somehwere under the petticoats I looked so pretty
The dress was 80 feet wide at Haz's first wedding, and was made out of 26 live white peacocks.
They've cut out FMitch, I've just realised. There were three bridesmaids.
lmao vi
That's right! She ran off with the god of love after the reception. You can't trust her when he's around...
hello temple
i must refresh...all i see is spangle
fmitch good one lol
Ignoring Haz, ROFL Vi
hi ata
And husband went on a special diet for the wedding. It only worked to a certain extent, the rest was achieved by industrial liposuction.
I was a bit annoyed by daughter number 2. She drank so much that she couldn't even stand up for the photographs. The shame of it!
That just proves how generous your refreshments were, though.
Well, there's that, I suppose, but we did so want to show our neighbours how refined we are.
hi everyone
hello kim
Hello Kim.
Is that why you decided against the Baileys bottle shaped boquet?
Haz, I've been away brushing the cat, I promise not to moan any more, just allow me a little light grumbling now and then, PLEASE.
Well, instead you impressed them with the 15-foot tall pink champagne fountain rising from the midst of the wedding cake. And they'll remember that even more than they would have remembered your refinement.
Well, Bailey's wouldn't have gone with the dresses, would it?
champagne fountain with michael jackson on the top
Liz, you can grumble a little - I'll join in!
singing Billy Jean
And holding an umbrella over his head.
i thought it was Michael Flatley
And wearing rhinestones head to toe.
Oh, he's there, too, loredana.
Just stumbled across another 8, take the pr8/45 and just change the 1st letter. I love typos.
Haz, you certainly didn't get your wedding tan in Ballymena, did you! Ballymena almost beats Stranraer in it's sophistication !
odd. you can only have entrails.
Michael Flatley can't sing. Michael Jackson's a better bargain.
The tan was courtesy of industrial strength Bisto.
oooh, tyvm FMitch..(-:
AAAAH, Bisto.
clue for tr 6/18
Stranraer and sophistication aren't usually together in the same sentence.
i must go mow the lawn. but i want to see haz's dress! wah!
i must go mow the lawn. but i want to see haz's dress! wah! darn old slow pc
I still see Spangle too
Damn the lawn, the dress, the dress>

Let me see if I can get you a google reference.

i said i MUST, not i WOULD LOL
Haz, we're in line for a casino, beat that Ballymena LOL
the icon is too small to see and when I click on the icon I see dear Spangle
pe 5/12?

A casino. In Stranraer. For the ferry passengers?
i felt i was too old to wear an elaborate dress. i was 27.
LOL the folly of youth!

tr 6/18
So you see where you went wrong, TO. I'm 49 and look how well I carried it off.
AND, we've got a Pizzeria.....see, dead continental, just don't ask which continent!
hiya everyone
hey! even we dont have a pizzeria!
hi sis!
LOL haz
We've always had a Pizzeria. We invented them.
we have a Wimpy
They are shamrock shaped aren't they?
You have a wimpy what Ata?
Haz, don't get me mad now, the ferry passengers NEED some sophisticated diversion now Burger King have withdrawn from the ferry.

Bye Annie!

bye FM see you soon
Bye FMitch - you made great progress?
hello foffle
Foffle, so busily involved in the Ballymena V Stranraer debate I missed you. Now look what you've done Haz, deprived me of moaning AND alienated my sister!
I am a BAAAAAD babbler.
LOL
but a good person
who's winning?
but a lovely bride!
can anyone tell me how many words come from the bottom t?
Thank you!
three
ty
Who do you think, you've been here you KNOW how deeply classy it is.
Ther'e's no debate, Foffle, You've been to Stranraer?
I have indeed Haz
Larne versus Stranraer might be more of an evenly matched contest.
So I rest my case. Ballymena wins.
Good day everyone
any clues for the bottom t? I've got the tr 4/4
hello zen
Hello Zen!
Well, I wrest my case, Ballymenians can't even PUNCTUATE...so, there!!
deeply classy Liz - you live there after all!
th4 and 5
got em, thanks.
My jaw has dropped. Punctuation wars? The battle of the colons?
Hi lore & Haz; what's this about Stranraer???
i'm still wondering who she had to wrest her case from...
ANd how do you WREST your case? Stranraer can't spell!
ooh, don't even want to think of a battle of the colons..
Zenmed, Lizmac thinks that Stranraer is more sophisticated than Ballymena.
No, Aloy, nor do I. Talk about entrails....
No, Haz, that's really below the belt...Larne is a proper hellhole (at least it was 15 years ago). My colon refuses to do battle with anyone else's..it's way too classy.
Oh dear; is she otherwise sane?
It's the weather, Zen, it's driven her over the edge.
That's not fair, you've brought in the cavalry.
I thought living in stranraer would be quite sufficient to do that!
Admit defeat, lizmac.
*Just arrived back, cuppa in hand, taking a break from sewing. Sees battling colons and wrested cases and decides to keep head down.*
first sa6 please
smart move, Jacula
does Stranraer have baileys shaped wreaths?
A wise move, Jacula!
hello jac quickly nose in grid wise decision
I'll make a dignified withdrawal, for now!
sa + first three letters of the rubber that meets the road
And I'll be really magnanimous in victory.
there are no glass carriages in Stranraer!
have that one Aloy, need the other one
oops, left out the consonant after sa, sorry
I'll go into a corner and reflect quietly on the weather and Ulster.
Hooray Haz!
thanks Aloy

TY very much, got it at last. Glad Lickety picked this incredible vid, I was going to suggest people watched it, he beat me..good.
You're so welcome, FA... long time, no see!
Yeah for lizmac!!
Congratulations on finishing this beastie, liz!
Thanks a million, Scarlet!!
Oh, I'm here, cranking away! I do this in between cleaning the kitchen(double ugh) so the painters won't see how I really live!
You are a million times welcome, Erda!! :-) :P, FA
yayyyyyyyy liz wtg!
FA, let them paint over it!!
LOL. liz... I agree, Fiber... kick back and relax! :-)
That's what happened last time, and the paint fell off in strips!! Have you looked under your stove lately?? Oooooh.
Liz doesn't DO kitchens LOL
Neither do I---that's the trouble!
Last week I was in a cleaning frenzy... no good reason except it was time... under the stove and refrigerator.... Yes, yuck and cat fur that the Swifter doesn't get....
Well just clean the greasy bits. OI, sis, who asked YOU? Letting the secrets of a happy marriage away!
We recently retired a frig--I think it coughed its last because of cat fur.
I could have sold it by the pound.
MOI? Just stating facts Liz!
LOlL, Fiber... you have to keep the coils catfur-free... and I forget to do it, too... but when I DO remember,,,, errrch.
Do we have two slinging sisters in chat today? LOL
I reckoned I could knit a brand new cat with the hair in the hoover last time!
I had a funny cartoon pinned up for awhile. A man is moving what looks like a mattress--his friend asks if he wants help--he says "no, it's just the dust from behind the refrigerator.
LOL... liz, that's funny....
would that be a catnit?
I visited someone one time, and there was dust INSIDE the refrigerator... I did not stay for lunch...
Ha! That made me laugh out loud for sure!
But now....the cat's decided being brushed is very nice, so I don't even have to empty the hoover LOL
Catnit... LOL
You vacuum??
My old beastie loves to be brushed, and the pile is just amazing when I pull it from the bristles...
I try to brush our shedding machine every day--I don't know where she GETS all that hair!
I know... she should be bald and scary-looking, but just keeps regenerating more fur... sometimes it looks like tumbleweed in the morning blowing over the hardwood floors....
I'm just reporting what my husband tells me, of Course I don't hoover, silly.
Hahhahahhaha
You had me concerned, liz.
I was beginning to wonder if he'd gone on strike!
Step away from the Hoover... breathe deeply... say your personal mantra... there, aren't we better now, liz?
Yes, the generation of hair is truly a source of wonder, and possible income, it's beautifully soft isn't it!
Oh, yes...
soft, but vaguely disgusting.
There are many fiber artists here in Asheville, and one woman spun and knitted a vest of her dog's hair... someone told me it smelled rather rank....
Unfortunately, cat won't allow me to comb her belly, the largest area of her. protecting her "biscuit belly"
Well, Scarlet, just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD!
I'm the only person who is permitted to stroke my monster's vast belly... she'll roll on her back for "big kitties" and let me have a go. LOL, FA!! Hahahhaha
us5?
No. Foffle, not on strike, having a little rest before making dinner just now.
to be useful, harp, sort of
thanks
he deserves a rest once in a while I suppose
harp, implementing proper grammar. US+ chronological years for an ID
Yes, mustn't take advantage, eh?!
not that you ever would
Anyway, must go as aforesaid dinner is almost ready.
ok am back......Liz am glad you got it.....sorry about the confusion....
Hi everyone else!
see ya soon sis
No probs, Flask.
See ya, sis. and everyone else.
having a break back later!
having a break back later!
having a break back later!
having a break back later!
having a break back later!
having a break back later!
having a break back later!
Hi, flask. So long, billmster... LOL
Hi Scarlet....how are you?...haven't seen you for a while...
I've been insanely busy... all good, Flask... How are you? My loved one and I still talk about your dedication. *Hug*
awww thanks!......well am gonna be missing for a week...off on holiday on monday for 7 days!
OOOh... holiday to where, Flask? Lucky lady!
A seaside resort on the west coast of England called Blackpool...have you heard of it??
Yes, we have. Are you going to eat lovely foods and rest in the breezes? Will there be flowers and music, too?
Am so hoping so Scarlet.......I love the sea.....
Sounds so lovely, Flask... I love the sea, too... but, from a respectful distance... the brisk, salty air, the sunsets... I could go on and on...
have you and your partner had a break this year?
Scarlet I am terrified of water.....but love to watch the sea.......my biggest fear is drowning!
My beloved husband is coming through the other end of a scary tunnel with protate cancer, but I am so pleased to say his doctors are happy, the radiation is done, and one more chemotherapy shot on the 19th of this month, and he will be declared a free man...! LOL
*prostate*
thats wonderful!!!......am so happy for you!
We are much the same, Flask... I am also terrified of water... I am a rock-solid land mammal... but I love to watch it! Thank you, Flask! :-)
please give him a [hug] from a wee wifie in Scotland!
tell am proud of him for doing so well!
I shall. He just delights in the good wishes from our Babble friends in cyberspace... and nothing on this planet makes him melt like a Scot's accent!
A wee wifie.... awwwww
Its funny how people are attracted to the accent......mind you there are so many different variations....
I just fell into a puddle when Dario Franchitti won the Indy 500... I heard him speak, and *swoon*
lolol.....oh dear!
Control yourself, woman!!!...lolol
I know, Flask... I'm a mess when that man is uttering the phone book.... LOL...
My husband is german, I know exactly what you mean Scarlet
by the way, have you finished todays grid?
I am so happy that I am not the only "oddball" in the grid! Hi, Marjetta. ARen't you the lady who told me about Fowl Words?
Yes, Flask, I have!
Yes I am
maybe if I talked less, I would be too....lol
I am not just an oddball but the way, I am a total geek according to my family
Hi Marjetta!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Marjetta... it has been a wonderful pursuit.
But talking is so much fun Flask
I am glad you like it, I really enjoy that game too. It has helped me here too.
LOL, Flask! But, I don't have many opportunities to talk to you, so this is a special day!
I know.....what would we do otherwise?!?!?!?...;-)
Yes, I've found that I'm a touch sharper for spotting words in Babble, Marjetta. LOL, Flask!
Very special for me too......cos' you were able to tell me your wonderful news!
And you told me of your upcoming holiday. Isn't it wonderful to share one anothers' lives?
what game are you talking about, may I ask??
I know, yes.....
Flask, it is called fowl words by KewlBox.com
is it free?
It is a word game as well, and you can download a free version
They have several (many) free games.
I was at sixes and sevens over family situations, Flask, and asked the chatline about some simple word games to tether me down... Marjetta suggested this wonderful game which is simple and challenging at the same time. I had to download a special shockwave player to the desktop, but it was simple for such a dull computer user as myself...
mmm......I shall take a look.......I love all wordgames......never heard of it!
It's a delightful game, timed, but so fun... and time flies!
Oh dear...Scarlet when it comes to dull computer users......I definitely take the iscuit!!
Scarlet, you are right about the time flying!
Flask, if you like word games you should like fowl words as well.
Yes, but the brain usage is the most important part for me... not difficult to "get in the swing" of the game, and I look at the clock, and an hour and a half have flown by...
I like it because I don't have to be online to play. Since I have a 45-60 minute bus ride every morning and evening, it is great to play on my laptop.
morning all
yes...I have just had a quick look...and its right up my street!...thanks for that info Marjetta!
Hello moolingwa
You are quiet welcome Flask
Hi, moolingwa!
*Hugs to Marjetta* for the suggestion.
Scarlet, I have always found the pc very time consuming!!
Hi moolingwa!
ty Scarlet, I am glad it occupied your wait time and kept your brain active. I am sure you were glad for the respite.
I was, and am, Marjetta. I know Flask... but, it makes me feel as though my mind can still absorb things, find logic in the puzzles, and learn more every day!
Aye Scarlet....its an amazing machine!!
ergh
I must make my beloved husband his lunch now... *Hugs to my dear Flask*. If I don't see you soon, have a spectacular holiday. Make today memorable, Babblers and blessings to all! :-)
Have a great day Scarlet
Scarlet, I will be away during his last treatment...
I shall. Thank you Marjetta!
but he will be in my thoughts....much love to you both!!
Then I shall look for you upon your return, Flask! Be well!
You too...[hugs to you both]!!!!
Thank you, dear Flask. And, love to you in bonny Scotland!
look for me around the 20th......
Okay, I will, Flask. Be well, dear lady.

hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia ( uncountable ) The fear of long words,
now is that word an oxymoron or what, lol

Yep thats like saying a person has a stutter. Try saying that word with a stutter
lol I love the phobia words I kind of collect them
or going back to the earlier conversation about ubiquitous not being ubiquitous
i do not fear the belittlling word - i have no fear
I cut and pasted it Herin lol
or why is pheonetics spelled that way?
RENIE hello
{{Ren}} hello

all the girls win prizes and it is not stressed who 'wins' it is more on developing self esteem in all aspects of their lives, from reading to learning how to act liek a young lady

**everyone is welcome**
I was just thinking of that movie Jellen!I saw it and I liked it a lot.I am not a Steve Caral fan, but I liked it.

hi rennster, is your sister here too?
totally strange
ren, we went to gton today. i always think of you when i pass by that hummer store. it was in one of your stories long ago, i think.

lol jac
:) yes - ribs are not healing
ren - so glad to hear he's getting around a bit better. He must feel better for doing so, too. Hope the scans go okay. xx
You can tell I haven't done this in a while, because I normally would have autopluralised the ubiquitous volcano...
they are tricky because even things like breathing rustle them up - and breathing seems pretty essential
Ren - You're going to have to stop punching the poor guy in the chest. Give him a chance! (Only kidding!)
thanks mistress....i'm loving the cooking!...lol ping! breathing is essential!
:)
Douglas - anyone who can come up with 'I normally would have autopluralised the ubiquitous volcano' is a true Babbler, however long it's been since they played.:)))

inge - underwater births are fine unless your midwife wants to try them in an ordinary bath... I did NOT want to try it as the water was getting cold. I staggered through to my bedroom and mostly gave birth kneeling by the bed. I only threw my self onto the bed (with great difficulty at that point; half a baby out) when she said, 'Erm... would you mind terribly getting up on to the bed because I can't see what I'm doing with my head down here on the floor'.
ty, min
Goodbye featherbee! I'll see you tomorrow in the log!
yw
bye feather and percy
ty, Minver... te7/28, plz?
Minver - let's hope you won't see feather in the log tomorrow. Let's hope she'll be busy with 'Percy' who will have been born.
The te 7/28 word is more of the camp shelter labecs.
that way gravity is on your side, jac

Jacula, I just saw your profile. That looks like a really nice place to live! Unforatunately, I haven't traveled the UK, however, I do hope to visit the UK someday.
yw
is that a clue, doug?
brb - gotta let the puppsters out
Indeed it is! For pe5/12, to be precise!
inge - that was the birth of my daughter (my 2nd child) at home. I had wanted to have my 1st child at home but was forced into hospital because he was breech and wouldn't turn. However, I refused a Caesarean section (it wasn't necessary) and he was born bum first (v. painful for me!). Daughter's birth was much nicer for being at home.
pe7/32 clue?
Anyway, enough gory birth tales. We'll frighten the male Babblers away! Or rather, I will!
thanks, doug, i didn't have that one yet!
Minver - Parts of the UK are lovely. I hope you manage to visit some time.
pr8?
My husband really wants to get a dog, however,a dog will take away precious babbe time!My husband does that enough of that already! He isn't here now. YAY!

I DON'T hug trees, though I have been known to talk to them in passing... but, as a child of the generation brought up by parents who were brough up in WWII, I detest waste of any kind.
Hello again, doxy.
hi goldies! how was summer camp?
I have some milk crates full of scrap paper.I use it to print out Lickety's babble clues.I hate wasting paper
Hi again, doxy
My daughter brings home shredded paper, cola cans, and plastic bottles from work because they don't recycle there. Our gargage men must think we

Hello pida 1! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Hi everybody,
Hi, pida
min, did you get his babble expert browser or do you use a mac?
ur5?
hi pida
I do have the babble expert browser, but don't use it
Min - what will you do with the paper? We send anything with addresses or bank stuff on to the council's recycling centre. Everything else gets shredded at home and used for bedding for the rabbits and guinea pigs. After that, it gets composted and goes back into the earth again.
Hi Pida and Doxy
ur+ Mr Onassis
ur + what we breathe anagrammed
ur5/12 rhymes with popular game consul in the 1980s
hi dawg

back again, Tom and stidkid have gone to our friend's for supper... other stidkid and I are staying home. time to load lickety's browser and finish this grid!
back soon...
Min - saving all those words on paper isn't necessary.
When I'm at work I make my students use both sides of the paper in their notebooks. Another way I save.
stid - did you get your 'hot date@ (the meal out)?
Min - glad to hear that (about both sides of the paper).
tr6/18?
I don't know if all of this will 'save the world', like I said, I've just been brought up to abhor wastefulness.
I know it is not necessary. It is just something weird I do.Like to keep track of how often I complete grids

na6 would be immediately recognisable to anyone in UK as a good old gossip. For USA? I'd clue a type of toad... the na****jack.
depends on the version Ping, but most of the newer Linux versions have "windows emulators" so they are pretty familiar and easy to figure out.

Last te6 before the seabird, stid was my last word earlier. It's the solid matter thrown out by a volcano. te + one letter for 'urinate' + short word for what females shore their bosoms up with but with different first letter - 8th of the alphabet rather than the 2nd.

te 7/36 is camping shelter plus how old you are harp.
Other Half's just been down (too hot upstairs) and it's 3:47am. He's gone up again now... quite determined to get at least 2 more hours' sleep in.

hi harp!
hey harp
I'm good min, i just came from a wonderful wedding, 8 words to get then I have to put in some Harry Potter time!

see you-all again soon!
I LOVE going to weddings. I went to one in Colorado not long ago. My cousin got married there. Different from a New York wedding, but it was still quite nice!
stid - was that the lickety vid you were watching? I can't see that, as I do Babble the hard way by choice. However, I do wonder if the video you're referring to is the Africa one in my bio?
Goodbye stidmama! I will see you tomorrow in the log

Goodbye mom23! I will see you tomorrow in the chat!
It's bedtime for me too. See everybody tomorrow...
Goodbye pida 1! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log!
Well, it's still much to warm upstairs to sleep now and so I am downstairs still. Anyone need clues?
night mom
It's Sunday.. so no timetab;le in particular for me.
I was downstairs for most of the day. Came upstairs for a change of scenery. It is not too hot here in NY.\
Trip to the council dump sometime in the morning, after loading the trailer... shank of lamb to roast which either 'me' or 'him' will take charge of. Other than that... no plans other than day of rest.
Minver - I heard from a friend in NY that Manhattan had a hurricane?
Jacula have you ever been to the United States b-4?
There was a tornado which flooded Brooklyn Jacula.
Minver - I have not.. yet. My kids have.
My first trip, I guess, will be to NY to stay with my friend on Madison Avenue.
all of NY is not the same Jacula. Get out of the city for a day if you can manage it. Beautiful area.
all of NY is not the same Jacula. Get out of the city for a day if you can manage it. Beautiful area.
Unless I go on one of those 'New England in the Spring/Autumn'trips before that.
i'm in upstate NY. Lakes, canals, corn fields, hay fields
worth the price of admission
I could have accompanied my Jamaican born friend, Brenda to the Bronx area of NY aout 5 years ago. She was going there to meet the USA branch of her family. I couldn't afford the fare at the time though. She got a warm welcome but was terrified walking out aat night around there.
And she's a bravbe lady! She's been on dialysis for a decade and then had a transplant.
I'm heading to New York once I'm done in Orlando, gonna stay up there for a week with friends for my 21st. Hopefully gonna be going to a Jazz Club on the night. Few people have warned me about walking around at night :S
Hello hshliz! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
This is after surviving TB of the brain!
Bronx can be rough, but for the most part a lot safer than you'd think. Media hypes itup a lot worse than it really is
i'm missing one more word, an A 5. i have AG 5, AI 5 , AN 5, AS 5. does anyone know what i'm missing?
yeah. I guess NY is just like any other city at the end of the day, and cities and crime go hand-in-hand usually
hshliz - I think that was the point I was trying to make, what my frind said to me...'I'm black but I'm terrified and British!'
hshliz - I think that was the point I was trying to make, what my frind said to me...'I'm black but I'm terrified and British!'
Hello DanTheKing! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
NY is one of the safest cities per capita.
... Really?
NM the A word. got it.
I also haver some Hindu friends who had a nightmare in India with their families. Road safety is NOT paramount there. 'Bob' got his foot run over by an ox cart and is still having problems, both mental and physical now, at least 10 weeks after the event.
Wow, I would never have guessed that. I guess the media DOES hype everything up, as always
yes, NY has made huge strides in violent crime reduction
oh, and Hi Minveryork, you're in a very greeting mood tonight
Born in Britain but 'other nationalities' don't always transfer so easily to their so-called home countries in the manner their parents hope they might do.
What have I heard about Jamaica and India from those children? It's too hot! It's dirty! Oh, and once, regretabbly, 'Ther was no MacDonald's!'
What have I heard about Jamaica and India from those children? It's too hot! It's dirty! Oh, and once, regretabbly, 'Ther was no MacDonald's!'
NYC is 49th in the ranking of large US cities in crime
49th worst or 49th best?
number one would be the worst
ah right. How many cities is that out of?
and considering that NYC is number one in population, but only 49th in crime, that's pretty good
I wonder what city is number one for the crime rate.
Inceidentally, I'm not just talking about kids of 4 or 10 here... It's 'kids' of 25 or 30.
Ihave no qualms about visting NY!
Ihave no qualms about visting NY!
i think it was out of 60 cities, number one was baltimore
Minver - what city in the world for no.1 crime rate? Not sure.
I am not surprised. My sister used to live in Baltimore
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_St ates_cities_by_crime_rate
Nottingham , England is now named the most dangerous city in the world ( again ) 115 serious crimes per 1000 people.
nyc is lower on the list than denver, toledo ohio and st.paul
Not surprised by finding that about Nottingham (Whrere Robin Hood haildedmfrom)... one of sons's friends wnt to uni there a few years ago and had his car sytematically dismantled/smashed up before his very eyes.
often crime rate is bad in houston and l.a. right?
Nottingham, despite what you may think of Birmingham, UK, has far more gun crimes.
houston is 18th worst, LA is 28th
interesting
babble is moving slow for me tonight. anyone else?
yeah, it's crawling by I'm afriad
I may be banned for saying this, but I'm saying it as a warning to Australia, who now, apparently have relaxed their laws on 'other race' immigrants, whilst still not allowing 'unskilled whites' in... the more immigrants you get , the more crime goes up.
hi dan
how's it going ping? I just can't seem to make words tonight any better than "tin" or "it" :(
jac, i find that violence is correlated with poverty, and immigrants and others who face discrimination and challenges to getting education are more likely to be poor
getting close but will probably need some help from the pros soon
I guess you lot, if you read the British newsm, think it's very funnny that we have aa problem with Polish people taking all the carp out of our rivers, trying to strangle swans (property of the Queen - £7,000 fine for killing one) and eating half the ducks. Look! Stop eating everything in sight. The countryside can be your larder but you need to learn 'the rules'.
of which i am, sadly, not one of. I think I'll be a-bartering for the last words tonight
i wonder if you looked at the list bernice is referencing which of those factor would correlate. for example, i think of baltimore as high poverty but not high immigrant level. just my sense of things.
right, the highest immigration cities aren't highest on the list
Unfortunately Jacula, you're dead right. People enter Britain with amazing ease, and then proceed to take take take from the country. (I stress that I only mean SOME people)
But this is a whole other discussion... are those in poverty unable to get out of it because they re thick/stupid/inbred or just unfortunate? Make a graph for the proprotions of those groups.
dan - I know you do.x
or maybe they face economic and racial discrimination
the haves can afford a good education for their kids, they get good jobs, etc. and the poor cannot afford to give their kids a leg up
I think, if I'm truthful, racial discrimination now exists against white males more than anyone.
there are plenty of thick/stupid/inbred rich people who succeed due to their advantages
dan, come on
I'm serious. Positive Discrimination has really taken off in such a Politically Correct society
The haves and the have nots... what separates them? I'd be interested to know both in uk and on a world scale.
so you think that white men are more likely to be denied work, paid less and unfairly treated in the justice system than people of color?
Businesses HAVE to be shown to NOT discriminate, and so are required to hire people with different racial backgrounds
no, business that value diversity try to have a diverse workforce, but there is no HAVE to hire anyone
Dan I don't know where you are from, but here in Southern Louisiana, that simply isn't the case....
I mean, it swings both ways. My friend is a guy, and because he's going into primary education he will get a job with AMAZING ease because they have to be shown to be non-discriminate, and not many males go for the jobs, hence he'll likely get given a job over a woman who is just as qualified or better
hi abby
Hi Ping hows it going?
i'm signing off. good luck all.
And a "Diverse workforce" means hiring people with different colour skin? That implies that black people and white people are different, which to ME sounds racist
Intelligent white males ARE postitively discriminated aginst for council/government etc. jobs. now, here, in UK. White girls, too.
night bq
good abby, how are you?
dan, diverse means hiring people with differnet perspectives and experiences, you are setting up a straw man and i'm not going to bite
night all
Night Ping
I'm good
nah, I don't know, it still sounds like a fine line to me
i'm not leaving yet - 12 to go
Lots of good discussion tonight
55 here
and assuming a black person has a "different perspective" than a white person is, surely, racist? I dunno, i think it's a fine line myself
far here that all of we 50 plus folks are seriously thinking of having a revolution like the French once did. And, if you're British, having a revolution is REALLY SERIOUS., We are totally p*ssed off with being told what to do, what t eat, we can't smoke, what do drink, where we can do his, that and the other. In short... WE'VE HAD ENOUGH!
anyone have the first sa 6/18?
yeah, the nanny culture in Britain has reached ridiculous levels
Ping: it's an anagram of "to sieve"
sa+ 1st 3 letters of one of the 4 rubber things blow your car.
sa 6/18 word is *** francisco + ***es on your car Ping.
thanks min and jac and sandbox
Sorry - USA folls, but, as Dan said, things in the UK are reaching boiling point. And I do wish we could be more 'French' and stop prevaricating. A revolution is needed and SOON!
ri 6 please?
surname of john from three's company
ri 6/18 - think of the late actor John Ri**** Ping.
my only fear is that if we do have a revolution (and God only knows we're due one) that we might go too far the other way, d'ya know what I mean Jac?
thanks sandbox
thanks min
Hello sandbox74!How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
Much though Nannyism is a pain in the arse, I don't think there should be anarchy. As with anything in life, a happy medium would be best
Dan - re the racist things, a trap I fear I may hav also fallen int when posting.. I don't care if someone if black white, brown, purple wih pink spots... the world over has nice people, nasty people and all the others in between.
Dan - no point in me playing Sid Viscious now then?
DanTheKing said a word in case anybody didn't have.
Dan - I have NO desire to go the Nazi (BNP) way!
The United Britain I was talking about is all rqaces born here who love this country and all it once and should stuill stand for.
Was just reading about email scams from West Africa
that's EXACTLY my point Jac. I think, as I'm sure most do, that people should be judged for WHO they are, not WHAT they are. I don't care if you're black, white, yellow, green, orange, christian, muslim, jedi, hindu, I DON'T CARE. So long as you're a nice person, that's all I care about. I think people should be treated as they deserve, and hired becasue they are the BEST for the job, and treated nicely because they ARE nice, and so forth
What about people like me, jac, WASP, born and brought up Brit but elsewhere?
te 6/24 please?
and no, the BNP is not the way forward. Far too extreme :S
I was in my local Chinese takeaway 2 nights or so ago.I should have recorded the tiny lady behind the counter's views on 'Britain going over to the euro' for you. To say she was NOT in favour would be an undersyatement. And this was a 'born in hong Kong gal'!
te 6/24 is te + 2-letter f sound + hook letter + vowel.
What'd'ya mean Jill? You're canadian but you weren't born in canada?
Dan, read my bio!
thanks soooooooooooo much, min!
Hello jillibus! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
yw
er, I don't knwo how? :(
hi jill
hi minver -- been busy again
oo, there it is
Dan, to see bios you click on the icon
jilli - you're fine by me! I take people as I find them. I really don't care what colou of=r creed they are!
hi ping
jac, you said something about people born in Britain...
ok Jill, so you've moved about a fair bit. As far as I can tell, you've moved into a country and then worked within that country, would that be correct?
If you are from Mars, jilli, tell me now - and describe yourself fully so I can write about you and earn pots of money. LOl!
done!
and I'm willing to bet, Jill, that whilst in said countries, you have abided by their laws, and paid your taxes and so forth
hi ping
I moved into Canada and became a Canadian by marriage just before that was no longer possible
Congratulations Ping on your fireworks!Good for you
hi ardilla
hi jillibus
hi jillibus congrats ping
thanks for all your help, min
i'm taking off - hope to see you all soon
Yea!! Ping
You are VERY welcome Ping.Happy to help you finish!
Goodbye Ping! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
people like you keep the UK afloat. Without our immigrant population, we'd be well and truly knackered. It's the people who come into Britain and attempt to FORCE their culture and rules upon us. Last I heard, there are courts being set up in every town so that Muslim law can be upheld, over English law. That is SURELY wrong?!
Night Ping , this time for real!! LL
I take anyone, wherever they are from, as I find them. I do NOT care what colour thier skin is or what religion they are.m I may ask about their religion and perhaphs not agree with all of it, but that still does not stop me liking someione.
Of course I have abided by the laws and paid whatever taxes were owed, and I see what you're driving at. I remarked the other day that when in Rome, etc...but some people want to change Rome into whatever they are used to instead.
gn ping
Dan - That is certainly wrong!
exactly, and I believe changing Rome is wrong. I would not DARE more to canada, and start demanding that they made it like the UK! If I did, I would fully expect them to tell me to go back to the UK if I loved it so much, or something to that effect. Now I appreciate that some immigrants are fleeing war-torn countries, and so the ability to return to their country is removed. Still, does that mean that they should attempt to change their new country?
hi abbyss
Agreed, Dan.
Dan - I think they should be allowed their little oases but not to change the whole country.
Must go do stuff for a bit. Back soonish.
I believe that, in countries like the UK, the law allows you to do pretty much anything, so long as you don't harm anyone. Whatever sexuality, profession, religion or lifestyle you choose to pursue, you are free to do so provided you don't harm the population, which is very fair. But for some people, that is not enough, and that concerns me
Little safe acres are fine. Changing the spirit of Britain IS NOT!
but Jac, if immigrants are allowed "oases" for themselves, that will create division in the country. I would much prefer that everyone was just/.
... British, together. I don't like such division in the population
hey pliars IS a word!!!
I still belive the time is coming when we will do like the Frech have dobe more than once, becayse they are very rude abd bit polite like us, and STABD UP ABD BE COUNTED.
iT'S TIME , dan.
and also, oases for immigrants can create "No-Go" zones for the white population. Can you imagine? having a part of your OWN country that you're NOT ALLOWED to enter? "Public - but only if you're 'one of us' "
I said 'little oases' ,Dan. like the varied regions of London since WWII.
It worries me, it really does, and I feel that the gap between the native population of Britain and it's immigrant population is becoming wider, which can only mean trouble. If you take it to it's most extreme (and I do mean extreme) then you have a civil war on your hands
Hi Ardilla I had to step off for a snack break
But I won't be standing a shopkeeper from Hereford being dragged out of his bed on a Sunday by the police because somone complained about the 'gollies' in his shop window.
*sigh that happened? really?
60 to go!
and yet we allow preachers of hate to remain in the country, spreading hate and division, and encouraging acts of terrorism? where is the balance or the justice?
Dan - I don't belive the gap you are talking about, 'Us' and 'The Adians' is ass wide, countywide as the papers may lead you to believe.
Is it not? I hope you're right. I'm from the Wirral, just over the water from Liverpool, and we don't really have an immigrant presence , it is mainly white people, so it's hard for me to judge
Oh, well , Dan.., re the preachers (so called) Tey should be chucked out rigt offm no question! ANyone who preaches against UK religious and royal beliefs is A TRAITOR.
you can still be hanged for that, right?
Hi darlababe! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Freedom of speech should still be allowed.
thanks
I wish , Dan! Technically, yes. But it won't haaaaaappen now. If it still did, it might sort things out far quicker.
is pliars a word?
isn't treason one of the few things left for which you can still receive capital punishment? And yes, of course freedom of speech should be allowed, or anyone who had been on Have I Got News For You would be in prison for treason :S
Dan - no capital punishment (much as we may wish it) is allowed in UK now.
I think it's spelled with an e instead of an a darlababe
But there is a line to draw. If so called "hate preachers" cause even one death by the words they speak, should they not be stopped?
thanks
yw
That's a whole new arguement, Dan,
Freedom of speech, yes, but not at the expense of anyone's life. Just as before, the freedom to do as you please SO LONG as you don't harm anyone
you wanna dress up like an alien and get married hanging upside down from a tree by a man in a Star Trek uniform. Go for it, who cares, if it makes you happy. It's when people are outwardly aggressive in the words that they speak that things can get ugly. But yes, you're right, this is a whole other debate
so please forgive my ignorance, but are you really saying that no one may speak against UK and religion????
no no no, of course, people can say WHATEVER they want.
...yawn.......
Yea, Dan, whole bnew debate that should really be taken off the chatlog, which is primarily here for clue giving, and onto Bab Anon.
All I'm saying is if people are preaching that it's ok to commit acts of murder, then that is WRONG
min did you get to clue this evening?
Dan! BabAnon! Everyone will chip in then.
Aloha Babblers!
ok ok, sorry, I'll be quite!!

Fran - that site set off all kinds of alarams & excursions! I'lltry tomorrow morning. This cmp gets flaky on weekends!
i was trying to shorten it, let me get the exact url for you
it's the UH website
I guessed 357 since I finished the grid at 7:53, but I know there would not be 753 words, so reversed the numbers. I actually do hope that it will be a small grid
hootowl, I went there too and found weird stuff, but got the little owl by clicking on the link
here's a better one: http://www.coffeetimes.com/mar98. htm
really? I prefer the larger grids, so I can get over 100 words, which is all i ever hope to get out of them unfortunately :S
I hope it's not 357 -- I would like to have time to finish one for a change
I just got disk cleaners and cmp junk. I'll wait for tomorrow and do a search on the name
Thanks, Minveryork, I was on the wrong side of the grid. Thanks so much!
