lol, flosey, sounds as much fun as i have, trying to audit the drug register.

Good evening everyone. Cliffy - you're new? - welcome
.bye everyone
Good morning/evening all.
Hello Haz....its nice to see a friendly face
Hello lynxxx - I've not been here for too long but the grid looks inviting! How are you?
Slightly wound up after the day, so looking forward to a nice relaxing grid. Yourself?
Back again.........just heard that cricket is off today.......more time to babble.
I'm fine, thanks - at the other end of the day, so not stressed yet. Is work still being a pain?
Good morning Frances!
Hi Frances
Hello Haz and lyn from a very wet Essex.
Haz...slightly - but only 2.5 weeks to go till I finish/retire (well, from that job anyway - might see if a can get a few days a month somewhere else)
There's talk of an Indian summer, but I wonder if they're just saying that to keep our spirits up.
Well, lynxx, at least the end is in sight with regards to the job. I know it has been a burden for you.
Any type of summer would be most welcome.
So with all this rain in G.B. - does ths mean your 'drought' has been broken?
We never had a drought in our area, but I imagine any attempt to restrict water in England would be met with hollow, disbelieving laughter. Unless all that water was the wrong sort.
We had lots of floods recently. So, I've been waiting for the annual hose pipe ban to be announced!
hello everyone.... guess what !!!...I just found an 8 all by myself, now this may not figure greatly in your babble lives, but in mine it is a cause for a little excitement !!
I think I have been confused...
Great Karys
Well done Karys!
Go Karys!!!
hooray Karys!!
thank you all..... *bowing nicely*
back soon. Imps bed time
and a story ...sunny ?
yes and a story :) Hairy Maclary tonight
ooo....a favourite !
From Donaldson's Dairy?
an oldie but a goldie
It's great. All those dogs.
I sent a package of books to Roger's grandson in Australia for his first birthday, and that was one of them. The Very Hungry Caterpiller was another, and Gowing on a Bear Hunt.
Going... might be better.
I loved the Jolly Postman series by Janet and Allen Ahlberg with the little letters included.
and, did anyone else do Elmer the Patchwork Elephant ?
They're more suitable for older children, though (and adults!)
I don't know that one Haz.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar was my daughters favorite (cause grandma read it to her) along with Are You My Mother? (my fav)
They're lovely, Karys, the postman carries letters supposedly from nursery rhyme characters.
Susannah still has ( and won't let go of ) a book called I'e Forgotten Edward.
I will have to look out for those then, for one of the other grandsons.
Was the teddy bear left behind?
Yes lyn, our's liked Are you my Mother too.
Yes Haz, and all the places they had to go before they got home to get him !
But they got him in the end? (Fingers crossed for a happy ending)
I really enjoyed reading to all of mine, and it seem to be something they all remember fondly. Of course they did, there he was, waiting patiently !!
Good for Edward! I know, I remember reading to my two as well and loving the time when you could leave out a word or phrase and they could fill in the gaps.
LOL....yes , that and the expectation on there faces of what was to come.
My younger daughter confused me one day when we were out for a walk, she in the pushchair, the older one walking alongside. 'Sing kwite an tewwy!'
Not fair - Karys has grandchildren!
Translation Haz?
I had to ask again - 'Sing what?' - 'Sing kwite an tewwy' this time more insistently. I hadn't a clue what she meant until the older daughter explained. 'She wants you to sing Mary Mary quite contrary'
LOL...LOL
awww
So we did!
I do Lyn, but all boys up til now !
Baby boys give more cuddles - so no loss (preparing for backlash on that comment)
I DO happen to like boys....( don't tell anyone )
Morning all Visiting babbleland for 10 mins before heading back to the grind. Hope everyine is fine and dandy today?
goodmorning FM
Good Morning Mitch.....it's very wet isn't it ?
Hello there FMitch - nice grid today.
Tad on the soggy side I must admit :(
Hi Haz, yes it is a good one today, so many words just flew off the keyboard earlier. Afternoon lynxxx
morning all!!
Are you busy in the office today, FMitch?
morning Pink
morning pink.....all well with you ?
Hi FM. I know I have short legs and the backside is a bit near the ground but I do feel a bit like a duck today.
Good morning pink.
hi folks, could some kind person please give me three clues, ps5/12, sp5/12 I have the rodent need the other one, and ta5/10 the second one
Yup Haz, you know what they say 'No rest for the wicked' *grin* ... and I have a bone to pick with Karys LOL Frances and Hi pink
errmmm.....what Have I done ?
hello Colhad - I can't be much help as I have only just started
Hello Colhad - don't know that I'm far enough along to help, but maybe the early birds can.
hi haz, no problem
LOL It's your fault I was up 'til 11.30 last night beading.
I bet it's beads or the love god.
hi lynxxx
Beads! I was right.
morning lynxxx, haz, mitch and karys....yes all is well for once, my ankle is heaps better now thanks....how is life treating you?
Oh goodness...that's late for you Mitch....was it good though ?
Ah such is my life when beads outrank the god of love
Yes, restrung one I had previously made, and made 2 for cousins Christmas presents.
Apart from being a little soggy, all it well here thank you pink. I don't think I shall need to water the beans tonight.
Colhad - I sp5.12 all my money and now I am broke
ps5/12 - ps followed by three vowels. Coming from the top ps.
ps5/12 = ps + lots of vowels
Aloha Babblers!
Hello Fran!
Thanks for that Karys
Hello Franny!
Aloha Frannie
Hi Fran
hi frannie :)
hi haz, lynxxx, FM, Frances, karys, pink, colhad!
Hi Fran
thanks fmitch, and haz
ty Mitch
hi fran
where is our summer i keep asking myself karys
You're welcome - not sure about the ta5/10 because I haven't got the list out.
hi colhad are you new?
thanks for that PS word haz and FM
stuck on 2 to go ;)
2nd ta5/10 = what they put on roads, double the cons and add a vowel
Go Colhad
colhad...I have a ta5/10 ....black stuff on roads + pl and vowel
hi Pink, naa, been around for a while, just don't play Babble as oftena s I should
Supposed to have an Indian summer pink, might be here for Christmas !
Ahoy, Babblers "over there"
hi JBs!
Hello JB!
*waving back over the pond*
It's just about sunrise in Philadelphia
ahh, after much experimenting I got it, thanks Karys
Hello JB : )
Colhad - did you see my clue for a sp5.12 @ 4.35
(Going to dry my hair before it settles permanently into this shape) Back shortly.
will scroll down lynxx
Thanks for the clues, so far, I'm at 73 words (hey, I just got my tea!)
Is it a pretty morning JBs?
But Haz, the through a hedge backwards look so suits you!
LOL....did mine earlier ! Had it all cut off a couple of weeks agao.
thanks lynxxx
Looks like it's going to be a perfect summer day, FM, but I can only enjoy it while waiting for the bus!
so you are done now Colhad?
I have working fires on my screen :)
yay colhad!!
thanks all
Congrats Colhad
yay Colhad!!!
Congrats Colhad !!!
Whoo hoo, Colhad!
ty Fran, FMitch, lynxxx, Sunny09
ty JB
Yay for Colhad !!!! Say Colhad did you get babble Expert from Lickety? if not you should email him and ask for it
nope, whats that??
Does anyone else see 'splat' in this grid? (mmm, this is some tea! -english breakfast for those who want to know-)
Its like an overlay that he has written...you get the clue list and Babble on one screen. Can update similtaneosly.
*seeing words that aren't really there*
ahh that'd be handy
I will email lickety
Colhad - it's more than excellent, many features
what is lickety's email?
unless you are a Mac user and then it's not compatible.
ohh :(
Its on his Clue List page - over to the right
Ahh can't go wrong with that tea JBs, I'm drinking green tea and peppermint leaf.
I use Winblows
Hedge through backwards look averted for now.
then you'll be find colhad. :-)
I'm going to the hairdresser this afternoon, so one has to make an effort.
Such a relief Haz LOL
Oh for heavens sake, that is like cleaning before the cleaning lady arrives.
I've tried 4 times to get lickety's Babble Browser to work, but when I open it on my computer, nothing happens, just a couple of blank columns
Yeah, but we all do it don't we!
Well, yes, wouldn't you?
Haz, you look maaahhhhvelous!
lol, i do too
good morning all
hi greenbay!
I'd be too embarrased, my skirting boards and, er, rather dusty.
Thank you JB - more help needed all the time!
Okay, FranMag, you look maahhhvleous too!
I don't, I just go as I am !
Hi Greenbay
Me too Mitch...I was just thinking I wouldn't dare have a cleaning lady.
Hey everyone - just dropping by. I saw someone finish this grid after just one hour - I think it's not too harsh
Hi greenbay
Hello lickety!
Hello lickety
LOL thats easy for you to say lickety as you don't play!!
hi lickety! if you mean drbernardo, he's just not normal. :-)
Hi Lickety - thanks for that piece of information - hardly encouragement though!
Hehehhehe - true. I think its was ABEs
Oh lynxxx - you finish every one - I'm sure of it!
This is the first time I've realised that it could be Dr Bernardo, I just always saw the letters as a jumble before.
How is our Star Soccer Player?
hi franmag. just to let you know, i use lickety's page on a mac all the time!
Hi, lickety!
haz, i just call him doc, always assumed it was dr bernardo
hi Lickety, I've been told about Babble Expert, I just sent you an email
i use lickety's page also cycling, but the babble expert he sends out if you ask doesn't work on Mac
It makes sense - all the capitals run together don't make for easy deciphering.
cool colhad - hope you love it - will reply now
Oh, lickety, can you tell my why I get blank columns when I open the browser? I have Windows XP
oh lynxxx - soccer - We won again on the weekend - and I got man of the match 2 weeks in a row! I can't believe it - I didn't play that well
JBs - try this : Run windows Updates, fire up IE - see what it does. Check firewall settings.
You've heard that Rooney is injured AGAIN? England may find some English blood in you Lickety, and call you up.
All hail the bright star in the firmament tee hee Well done lickety
wtg lickety!
Too modest Lickety! or otherwise everyone is goddam awful which would be highly unlikely ....Yay for our Man!
colhad - check email
Thanks, lickety, I'll try that and let you know!
ty Lickety :)
Oh Haz - I'm not that good - Geez - Over35's and Division 4 - and Reserve team too!
Sounds about right for England.
(Ducking for cover)
Hmm, do we have a budding Beckham? (who, btw, didn't play much his first game!)
Lickety - do the kids you coach play as well? how have they fared?
yes, but he took his shirt off which is all that matters JBs. :-)
Nothing wrong with reserve teams lickety. We have 55+ in our league that I broduce the weekly bulletin for.
Please note Haz still looks good while ducking for cover ;)
Yeah I coach 8 year olds - This year the 4th team - mixed girls and boys. So far 9 wins 4 losses - so not too bad
All those tattoos though...
On Beckham, not me.
Tattoos, shmattoos. You should see Allen Iverson's!
Oh - he's gorgeous - until he opens his mouth
cool, got Babble Expert running
true lynxxx
It's a big let-down, you know, lynxxx, you know.
colhad - Lickety Add is the good part - and use it to add to this chat too
Thats good Lickety...more than enough to keep them motivated - well done on that front too!
one word goes to grid, more than one goes to chat etc. You can try options - thin box - after size and moving it - Don't be afraid to make it really small.
Thanks lynxxx - it's been tough this year - 11 kids rather than 7.
and some of them are really co-ordination challenged
Two left feet?
hello lickety
using Lickety add
cool colhad - grid words go to both clues and grid. Move the yellow bars to get the right spacing - or hit the middle to hide clues etc. Try all the options
and we forgot to tell you about the extra Fireworks too Colhad
You'll have to wait until another day to test out the wonderment of the send words to clues feature, Colhad.
oh yeah - the video fireworks ;-)
You finished todays grid Colhad?
ahh, always tomorrow ;)
Good morning everyone. FRANMAG, good to see you -- I just finished checking on Flossie and told my husband you live on the big island. Are you prepared?
hi ch! i'm actually on Oahu and we're fine right now
Of course, I'm sure you are :)
He has Lickety
Oh! For some reason I had you in Hilo ... now I remember, Pearl City?
it's not tracking to hit us, but we have our water, MREs and canned goods standing by. :-)
ohh yeh, saw a fireworks display not long before you came in Licktey
lynxxx - he has all the history to check out (fireworks history)
Lickety
well, we moved at the end of July. we're now in Kapolei, which reminds me, i should update my profile.
Good. We'll be thinking good thoughts for all concerned.
Colhad - did you get the fireworks video then when you started it?
Hit Refresh Babble if you didn't
nope
Fran is this a hurricane heading your way?
there's a new babbler that's on the Big Island, everyone think send good vibes for her.
it's hitting the Big Island (Hawaii) tonight, but weakening and shouldn't be a problem for us (cross your fingers)
May you ALL be safe!
thinking of you Fran :)
coming from Guam though, i've experienced enough erratic storms to know that anything can happen.
Ditto what lynxxx said and everything is crossed even though it makes typing rather hard :)
It looks massive on the radar in relationship to the size of the islands, but all hurricanes do.
lol FM! thanks. :-)
BBS organising some dinner
we finally got some rain this evening and the wind has picked up a little, but nothing severe.
Time to go, catching the bus in 30 minutes. Good to play with you all this morning, and safe harbor to island friends! Back later this evening!
See you later JB, have a good day.
Thank you everyone for the positive thoughts. i'll see you all tomorrow as long as Flossie cooperates. :-)
bye JBs
night JBs!
bye JB !
Can I rack the brains of the chefs and chefesses please?
Do I qualify?
For sure
But of course....top of my list Haz !
No pressure, then.
Nods off whilst waiting for the question.
Wake up!
I have some pork chops and some shop bought stuffing, cranberry and spiced orange, I thought I would like to top the chops with it and am trying to think of something to caot the chops with first, any ideas ?
Wwh what! where, oops sorry, hope I wasn't snoring
Listen here.... I am having trouble with washed hands again today !
Think layer of mustard
I do a pork dish with crushed coriander and ginger, topped with chunky orange marmalade.
Now thats a good idea....why didn't I think of that !!
*thin
try marinating the chops in a little cran juice and frying with a layer of wholegrain mustard on top
Mind you, that's over a loin of pork, rather than an individual chop.
It wont let me add my words!
Yum, Haz and sunny
mmmm Haz! Pork and marmalade! I'll have to try that.
It is tasty - the whole loin is roasted/steamed in chicken stock and orange juice.
why wont it work???
I think I might try the mustard idea, with some wholegrain, spread very thinly first, then the dry stuffing mix. They should be ok in the oven shouldn't they ?
why wont it work???
Don't know Xan, sorry.
I like the sound of your recipe Haz.
Xanika, try hitting the add button rather than enter, and if that doesn't work, refresh :)
They should be fine, Karys, keep an eye on them or wrap in foil parcels to begin with?
It's really easy, Karys, and the good thing is that the liquid stops the pork from drying out.
Does the stuffing mix not need a drop or two of water?
That might be nice, and just open them for the last little while.
Woohoo we are all of to Karys's for dinner tonight then?
My mouth is watering already, Karys.
I will have to wait til I open it Mitch, then see, it just might need something.
I'll bring the steamed asparagus to go with :)
I just liked the sound of it, so I bought it, but not to stuff anything with, my lot wouldn't eat it that way !
and Haz can bring wone of her wonder deserts
I'll put the order in now.
or two or thwree :D
thought of all this food is playing havoc with my typing, it's the drool you know, not good for keyboards.
That would be nice Ch1212, I lay a place for you !
and buttery squash please..
aaah... don't do squash I'm afraid.
dowat
oops!
I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble with the keyboard this morning !
Do we want a nice Chardonay with dinner? Or Riesling?
I thought that was an Elmer Fudd version of drat!
Or sparkling grape for those who don't indulge
A nice dry Riesling please, the Chardonay's seem to be getting a little too creamy !
Excellent choice!
no wine for me, I'll have a single malt on ice.
Jumping stright in there then sunny !!
Hubby likes the Jameson's.
weeelllll I can share :)
good evening everyone
My beloved just looked over my shoulder and said he would prefer a Highland scotch :D
hello ardilla
good evening ardilla

Hello ardilla.

TY Lil---an anatomy word!

my sentiments exactly sunny lol
what does it mean scrabbler?
great clue
The me****ery is the tissue that connects the intestines--a curtain like tissue with blood vessels etc within it.
Is that like a filter between the large and small intestine?
Isn't it like a sac scrabs?
dictionary.com defines it as midgut
love the icon btw sunny ;-)
it's happy isn't it? :)
ardilla are you experiencing any of that horrendous flooding? I was hearing about it on the news today in North Korea.

Congrats Sunny!
oh lynxxx...yur still here!!
Just came back after dinner
Hi Carlee!
what time is flip in aussie lynxxx?
hi ya lynxxx...how ya doin"?
3.00 pm - but on a week day I usually don't start until 7.00 pm (my time)
well thanks Carlee. a better week this week for you?
ok.. i guess your at work when its flip time!
ummm...so far..so good... thanks... but its only tuesday so far...
Pink. yeah - for a few more weeks anyway. Not that I am crazy about starting at the flip anyway, its a bit too competitive for me
with the last few weeks I am afraid I am still looking back over my shoulder and waiting to hear other shoe to drop...if you know what I mean
Carlee - I understand but I am sure you've had your share now - and don't let 'it' keep a good (wo)man down
flip is competitive, you changing jobs lynxxx?..who's been upsetting our cheerleader carlee??
may I please have clues for the 8's
retiring Pink
just some teenage angst and some deperate housewives action in our neighbourhood pink
wa8/65 - those who don't like dry land
WOW... retiring? what will you do with ALL Your time lynxx
Hi Peri - the only one I have is the wa8.65
thanks haz
st8/65 - those who keep others in order
thats nice lynxxx, do you have any plans? the neighbourhood scandals bringing you down carlee?
thanks lynxx and Haz, got the wa8
di8/45 - present tense form of di7/32. To give an unfortunate review to something?
well... when one of my so called friends decides to start flirting obviously with my husband to the point where the younger kids notice and are embarrassed....its a tad annoying pink
thanks Haz, got the di8 right off, great clue
still working on the st8
up side is...she is only embarrassing herself..but still its... unnerving
Good, glad it worked, peri.
Agree w. Peri there Haz - TY
OMG does this woman not have any shame !!
got the st8 too, Haz, thanks
apparently...no...she does not
You're welcome lynxxx. Glad to help, peri!
( what u need to know is...hubby dated her..and dumped her for me... now she married and has to fine kids..and moved into our neighbourhood..she and I have always gotten along... and our daughters are good friends..my city a SMALL town )
sorry...two fine kids ( coffee#1 still )
trashy!! you dont have anything to worry about on that front carlee, your husband left her for you.
found half, bbl
clue for the 9 plz
oh..i know..he was embarrassed too... its just..yes..trashy... and in order to keep the "neighbourhood" together... ( which her actions threatened to tear apart) my reaction..or rather lack of... is/was a bit of a tightrope
me9 - it's a greek plural, I think, referring to the midgut.
its still not nice, she obviously has no respect for you, your husband, your marriage or hers, the children or herself!!
me, four letters of dispatch in the past, finish with a three lettered period of time.
ty haz
You're welcome/
exactly my thought pink... which is too bad... her kids are good kids..and her husband although definitely not my type..is a very good and kind hearted man
TY Haz.
You're welcome, lynxxx.
some people just dont realise how lucky they are...she cant be happy in her marriage if she's "throwing herself" at your husband
Just a women with no self-confidence who needs the constant admiration of others to feel worthwhile. Really a bit of a sad case
no..I know she is not..and she is going through a difficult time herself...she had a severe underbite..or was it overbite..no..under...affected her "bite" and just had surgery to correct it ( this was the woman I threw the "crunchy" party for ) and her appearence has significantly changed... and we all know how we feel when we get a pimple on the end of our nose...to us it is a huge red blotch covering our entire face..but to others is nothing....
so am sure..with low self esteem and a drastic change in appearance... she is going through a great deal of inner turmoil
not an excuse...but a motive at least
Maybe it wasn't her at all. An interloper?
Carlee - you are amazingly kind and caring - no wonder you are cherished by your husband
her husband is loyal to nth degree... there are other issues... hahaha...not so cherished..maybe tollerated lynxx... HAHAHA..thanks for the laugh...
he loves me every other day :D HAHAHAHA
I don't retract a word!
its sounds as if her confidence was knocked really hard but i agree with lynxxx. i know what she has been doing is wrong and i do not support those of things, but try to understand where she's coming from at the same time. she is in low place at the moment
thanks lynxx... I guess you would have to know my husband... cherish..i doubt is even in his vocabulary...
double dare you to ask him...
exactly pink... i know her whole history... and to maintain the peace...am just trying to fly low under the radar...and not get my knickers too knotty..sorry to vent here... but helps to keep it all in check elsewhere
ok lynxx I will...
Lunch time, back later.
bye Haz. enjoy
later haz..sorry to go on about it
clue for second pe6/21 please? The one just before the annoying insect.
Guten Morgen, Babbler, not a bad grid. Got all but 31 after two passes. Now to go digging.
hi inge..how are you doing?
morning Inge ! either a good grid or a good finder
ch, add the doer ending to the anoying one
I am trying to finish this before my students come for German
That's the last pe6/21 I think, isn't it? I'm looking for the one right before the annoying one...
ch1212 - pe6/21 = Spanish coin.
spanish money coin I think, and hi all
hi inge...carlee we all need to speak to people who are not involved in the situations we find ourselves in, which is good because you'll get neutral advice!
yeah! Thanks, sprite!
sprite your in stealth mode!!
Hi and 'bye, all. Lunchtime. BBL
yw :)
TY Jac & Sprite - and goodmorning to you both
hi Jac and enjoy
Hi and bye jacula -- like your icon. I'll be back later too :)
bye ch1212 and jacula !!
thanks pink...
your a teacher/lecturer inge
not really stealth, pink, just having an extremely rotten day and not in talking state, sry
your welcome carlee, i've found myself in similar situations many a time before!!
whats wrong sprite? 8hugs*
*hugs*
oh oh... Babble {{{{HUGS}}}} for sprite...
{{{quiet non-invasive hugs for Sprite}}}
( man..i think this site more therapy then puzzle at times...I always feel so sorry for goldies when he comes on when we doing this )
clue for pe 7/32 please
just on top of everything else wild accusations of my work that I am not really sick but working elsewhere secretly, and out of the blue a letter from an old insurance that we are 3 years behind in paying and that they have notified our morgage holder. I am panicked beyond control right now, babbling to try and stay 'here'. Can't really chat right now, sry. Thanks for the hugs and the warmth all.
daters
dater
i'm SO sorry sprite
as long as you have proof of payments to an insurance carrier...you are fine sprite...notify your mortgage company with notorized copies of your insurance and get ahold of documentation from your bank and all will be good
as for rumours.... what goes around comes around... like in the case of my neighbour... she the one hurting herself... it will come back to bite them on the bottom
Iam sorry to hear that sprite !! *gentle hug*
as far as I know that insurance was closed when we got our new morgage. It has all have to be looked into. I am scared. They never told us anything about still having to pay, it is the bank that stopped doing incassos or what it is called. Now they want 9000 euro before half september, out of the blue.
must be off everyone take care, i'll bbl to finish up!!
then make an appointment with the bank..
later pink...{{{hugs}}}
it will all get sorted out...its a computer data entry glitch... and you have 6 weeks to sort it all out
right now my husband is looking into it and making contact with some banks/instances. I am just in total panic.
bye pink
Phone your mortgage company first and find out what their situation.advice is. They are usually very approachable and willing to help where possible.
bye Pink
its just one of those computer age glitches that happens to annoy us... but in all likelihood will all be sorted out.... and end up being just alittle speed bump
you all have very good and sound advice and I know my husband is doing that right now. That's why I said I cannot really chat right now, I can't handle it. Am not yet well enough to, I guess, and what I need to do now is trying to come 'down' from panic city to the here and now. Babble should help. Thanks for caring *hug*
pe7.32 ends like the line in the song "They did the Mo***** Mash"
Sprite, save your energy and stop worrying now, big deep breaths. Only start worrying again when all avenues have been tried and failed.
already found it but nice clue
thanks FMitch, that's it. One sec at the time and deep breaths. *hug*
thanks for asking Biblio - I didn't
and some music... when I get freaked out I put on my favourite "get down and dance" music...and spin myself into a frenzy.... or immerse myself into a "craft" of somekind... to create
That's my girl! Calm and breathe and find those words (((sprite)))
happy to help ;)
Takes babble hat off and puts work hat back on.
good luck FMitch, at work *hug again*
I can feel in control when I babble... that is soothing ;)
there u go sprite...babble away
thnx carlee
{{{ hugs}}} for sprite
thanks even more :)
hello world
Hi T&T....did you hear that Feather had her baby?
hi toad..and bye all time to get ready to scoot into work for a couple hours
yah, I was here yesterday when they annouced it
I was just going to go look at her blog page to see if she had updated it
hi T&T
oh she has the birth story up. cool!
hi sprite
okay I'll have to go back and read it when I am a little less distracted... and take some good notes. lol
bye carlee
Wow - just read Feathers blog - that is amazinging real
I keep wanting to get that T and H together.
I thought it was real?
You might be pushing it Sprite
I'd like the n and one r to switch
lol Sprite - I just meant it is really good writing and I feel like I was there with them
oh lol, ok lynxxx. I should stay away from chatting, I am just too dense right now.
((HUGS)) sprite.xx
I'm back for a few more words.
thanks so much, Jac :) Hugging is GOOD.
you are never dense Sprite!
It is, sprite... unless someone has broken ribs or something.
owwww no, then better not. Though virtual hugs might help even then. Light virtual hugs.
is the x used anywhere? just curious
there aren't any dw words are there?
I have used it a couple of times
sprite - we're okay to hug since neither of us has broken ribs. LOL
hello
Hi, Liz.
I am glad, Jac :) Hi Liz
I've used the x in 4 words
hello everyone!
Hi Liz!
and I have no dw words so far
hi Annie
dwats - ty Sprite
{{{{sprite}}}} it will work out...have patience
I've used the 'x' in 4 words so far, too, and also found no 'dw's.
Hello AnnieB too!
Hi, Annie.
keepthinking of that one prayer.... Dear dear God, please grant me patience.... AND I WANT TO HAVE IT RIGHT NOW!!!
hi lynxxx and jacula!
there are none on Lickety's list (DWs) I just checked
TY T&T
will be lurking - popping in and out when I have a few free minutes....100 down, 113 to go :)
good going Liz
:)
{{sprite}}} one day at a time, if need be, one hour at a day, you will get through this
47 left here. No list used... yet.
*one hour at a time*, I meant
,
Oh I have just realised I am nearly at my 75% (listless) - can't seem to get through that barrier this week
I did it. Fireworks, less than two hours, good music so far in the video.
thanks Annie, I am trying to take it one word at a time and with the company of you guys (okay, and 2 seresta) I start feeling like I am coming back from panic city a little.
woot inge
wtg inge!
Well done, inge.
congrats inge!!!
Congrats Inge
did all but 32 without the list. This is an easy one I say, or I am in top form
think positively... you are in top form Inge
why isn't warsh a word.. that how my parents say "wash"
I want 'prawn' but the n's in the wrong place.
okay now I am confused. I just found aw4.8 but when I click the ? mark to see the definition, dictionary.com said it is not a word!
Prawns? Where! Yum! hi :)
aw4/8 is a Scottish adverb meaning 'awhile'.
oooooooooooooh ok
hey Ata
Hi, Ata. No prawns in the grid... the end's in the wrong place.
No 'earwax' either, though I keep seeing it. LOL
the "r" and "m" need to switch, I want an exam
ewww
the ? does not cover all words that enable accepts. You can check on other sites though.
I like infoplease.com a lot
Prawns warshed in earwax. YUM! (Not)
Ata, my survivor is dead again :( Made a new one, but now a necro.
HAve some praw instead - same as prawns but without a tail ending *grin*
hahaha jacula
LOL, FMitch. Hi.
OK Jac is being too revolting! I'm going (well I need to put out rubbish bins - back in a bit)
http://www.milkandcookies.com/link/658 72/detail/
much much funniness
I keep seeing Dear
awwwwww what killed him this time?
Afternoon Jacs and Ata (not really here)
Lynxxx - Have fun! Can you put my bins and recycling boxes out, too, please? It's raining here.
sweet, Ata
a bug in the game, apparently. I went into a fight, max health, one sec later he was dead.
sandstorm!
back later. husband is set to leave in a couple of hours... gotta go spend time with him
have fun T&T
Send our good wishes with him T&T
bye tt
clue for me 4/6
no sandstorm, no boss even, just siege fire. But siege fire needs at least 3 blasts to flatten a lvl 20. Ah well, a bug - I was not born for luck anyway! You will love my necro though.
Ata - Yuk! Just watched the video.
lol great way to break up a cat fight though!
I thought it was going to be a projectile vomit. LOL
it is kinda sweet, the video... but I could have done without da milk!
that would have been just even better!
...and on that unsavoury note I shall away to do my daughter's ironing and catch up on some recorded tv programmes.
you must be about the bestest mum ever, Jac!
lol have fun Jac
BBL for the remaining elusive 41 words. xx

hi lynxxx! and yay for sprite and angel!
sorry sprite i never save the links for the videos
sprite, i think they all eventually get posted here: http://licketysplitaus.googlepages.com /fireworkshistory
well, maybe someday I'll get some pictures and figure out how to post them, and sit down to babble anonymous (was suggested the other night, but haven't tried yet) suffice it to say now that I think it was everything I wanted (except the 50 degree weather in Paris friday and saturday) (and the rain the last two days of the barge) but the food.... ooh la la! et du vin! (i am now in love with lugagnac.. thinking i could buy it here i didn't get any and now can't find it here)
une that link doesnt work
Nono make sure you copy and paste both lines, babble doesn't see it as one continuous entry.
they do, Une, but it only goes up till 8/8 and I need yesterday's :(
i did that FMitch
Strange, works fine for me.
trying again
sprite, that's why I said "eventually"--they're not posted immediately

lol sprite... and i need one to come organize mine!
they should be for hire!
Good morning! Can I get a little help with the me9? Is it a compound word?
it is not, and it is a little weird one
Thanks, sprite.
me9/60: me + past tense of dispatch + a long period of time.
thanks sprite. (an anatomical word, i think(
definitely, Dorens
that me 9 is a very strange word
would mean middle of the guts?
yes, someone explained it earlier, some connecting tissue between intestines or something like that
yup, its connecting tissue
Excellent clue for the me9, GBL. Have no idea what it means!
midgut, I believe someone said.
Hmph. I was going to say it sounds like an Italian or Spanish dance.
Bassanova, Macarena, Tarantella, middle gut word, etc.
would work for me!
yw Judi
lol
hints for the i words?
io + block on the calendar.
chemical ones, EvaN. Make bacteria free?
same old, same old, Eva!
io + when you go meet a gorgeous guy + plural
thanks!
yw :)

merci, sprite and annie
like sprite's clue better
only because mine did not name an individual letter... the rest was very good :)
saw this article on MSN and i thought anyone involved in the "quitting smoking" discussions of the last few days may find it interesting: http://health.msn.com/gu ides/stopsmoking/articlepage.aspx?cp-d ocumentid=100167758>1=10315
what do you call those sets of pencil & pe** that are given at high school graduations? I call them pe**ets. so why isn't that a word?
dorens -- i think thats 2 words
are you quitting eva?
am right with you there, Dorens. Tried that 2 times too, just to be sure.
2 words maybe?
nope. not smoking either. :)

good morning all
LOL!!!
I thought ratmen was allowed!
also, guys that like to throw arrowlike objects...
hi flosey
hi flosey
hello
hi harpjane
hi harp. (and also guys who work in large plants)
No ratmen allowed. However, the lads the row the boat are allowed.
oh, ignore that.. it isn't in the grid anyway
well, if we could use the plural big plant it would be
*lads who row the boat* (grammar hiccup there).
oh yes, thanks Judi
does anyone have a clue for re6/33 please?
nope, saving the re's for last
making it hot again, flosey
re6/33 - what you get in payment for something great you did
what you get if you turn someone or something that is found in
thanks Sprite
and Vicuna
ow, lol Sexi, that is true too
complete crap usually, Vi. yelling at by bosses?
and Vic
and Sexi
Goodness, aren't we cynical today, Ata!
Hello, all.
I thought Ata was being realistic?
*giggle*
morning vicuna
Fireworks
All right, how about "Virtue is the only re6/33 you're ever liekly to get."
well done flosey
likely*
lol thats better :P
Yay for flosey!
her only re6/33 was re6/33ed coffee.

I also have a lot of PE words.

yw --- o
I'm off for a while, bbl.
there are lots of re's again
bye Dorens
ty doren!
off to start dinner, back later. Bye all.
ok, i have Di8 -- what are the other 2 8s?
There is a ps 5
good question, Eva
thats the only 8 i have so far eva
there is an st 7/8
St8 (plural of st7), and wa8.
gosh
stupid wa word
Both st8 and wa8 are nautical terms. St8 - sort of a maid for a berth on a cruise ship. Wa8 - Sailors!
and no, steermen doesn't work however many times you type it
cabin boys? did someone mention cabin boys? o.O
So close, Ata. Hint: get wet.
wa 8----sailors
thanks -- gonna get to work on those 8s now :)
where's hurshy! thats her speciality
ok got the st8 now working on the w
I've got the word, Judi :) am just mounting a meaningless protest :)
eight letter words or cabin boys?
cant believe i missed the ST8 -- i HAD the ST7!!
both!
okay, got the di and the wa---still need the st8
di 7 & 8 please
LOL did someone clue the di8 yet?
wooooooo found it thanks for the clues
ST7 = male flight attendant, plural for the 8
di8 gives a bad review
thanks, evan
di 7
stupid word!!! ty, monkey mine!
dr. who fans, tardis will not work!
di 7----give a bad review?
I know, TO! very annoying
i think "Woids" oughtta be acceptable -- arent New Yorkers looking for "woids" in the grid??
di + plural letter + judges on a scale of 1 to ten.
The di7/32 word is di plus an ra 4/4 word anniebrook
Owl, ta 5---change last vowel and no plural
ummmmm no eva i dont look for woids LOL
ty annie. i never would have found that woid!
Hi minver, I have the di's but thank you
why are you playing babble then, nono? :):)
*looks at nono suspiciously* are you a REAL New Yorker??
gee forst day back to work is hard.....
even harder than the first day ; )
absolutely born and bred in NY but not the city
or should i say foist day?
TO -- is that similar to when i get so hungry that im hOngry?
ahh, so i should amend my prior statement to read "New York Cityers"
I am a REAL New Yorker, born and bred and still here and I do look for woids in babble
New York City, that is
you tell em. annie! : D
fuhgetaboudit!!!!
BIG difference between NY state and NYC
hahahahahahahahahaha
annie, people in bethlehem think i have a NY accent - it's funny!
in NYC they look for "woids" and in Boston, they "paak" the "caa"
Owl, that was brooklynese....
me 9 please
Owl, did you ever live in nyc
Why can't we y'all just talk slower?!? lol
me9---me --past tense of posting a letter and a long time
does north jersey 8 miles out count?
Owl, well then, the edges rubbed off on you
I flew into JFK once. Does that count?
LOL indeed the did! my dad sayd "terlet" - must have been those summers in the country in brooklyn LOL
I'm from the south and y'all seem to talk so very fast
Atalante, then you are a native to the borough of Queens
LOL marj - indeed we in the northeast do!
nah its just the typing marj
ooooo. yay! go me!
heh, i actually say "yall" quite a bit
i had a friend when i was little from bethlehem PA and she once asked me to hand her a "tail"
evan do you say "fixin to" as wel
terlet...my husband's grandmother said terlet and I had no idea what she was saying until I had to use one
it's not the typing, that I can keep up with. It is definitely the speaking that I have trouble with
i asked her about 5 times to repeat herself until she got fed up with me and walked past me + picked up a TOWEL...hah
lol
AHAHAA tail-towel
no "fixin" here -- im not THAT southern...lol... though my old roommate said it! (he also strapped bull horns to the front of his car)
the towel is over yonder i reckon
xitry, that is me. At least I say those things!! LOL
I say I reckon all the time
last one ps, help pls
i just blend words together... "i dont" sorta become "ownt"
sexi, i have been staring at that ps too
ahaha
ownt wanna
ps plus all vowels
thats funny
iontwanna
how many letter xtry?
i work in broadcast and ive had to fix all of those
i do it too
thanks nono, I knew it was all vowels but which ones were driving me bonkers
i am soooo bad at babble, i come in here to challenge myself and read the convos
nono, I amend my last statement, I was trying to put the D into the PS woid
Lol. I think Archie Bunker used to say "terlet".
only i ps word?
HAHAHA
I have tried to "fix" mine. but I go home to my mama's house and it comes right back. My mama sounds like she stepped out of the movie "Gone with the wind"
he sure did judi
yes he did. he was from queens.
yes only one TO
where u from marj?
I was born in Alabama and raised in Georgia.
ty, nono
No one is going to do my laundry so I better get "crackin".......bye
bye annie
I have lived all over the world since then, but the accent still comes back
l8r ann
me 9 pleaz
<-montg.
later, annie
I was born in Tuscaloosa
i have sort of a "southern meets city" type accent...and apparently my accent changes depending who im talking to + the situation im in...
i guess that comes from growing up in a household with british parents...
ditto evan
My mama is from a little town called Greenville
minus the brit part
My daddy is from Gadsten
cool
ive got tiny on you.moms from vernon

hi all

hi Carlee
hi nono
o0o0o. ttfn! work and leaving with an all time high of 12 words
bye, xitry
bye bye xitry take care
My husband is German, and says that the funniest thing he has ever heard is German with a southern accent!
hey, carlee :-)
bye xitry
hi unea
my ex is French and has never lost the accent living here but now has an occasional very weird Southern-Frenchism pop out of his mouth! LOL
my parents are both from england (outside london) but they have been over here for 40+ years... their accents are very americanized, but people definitely know theyre from england... but MAN, went we go back to visit the family, their accent kicks in FULL FORCE!
I didnt know that, Eva! You're English really! Yay!
exactly! :-) and no matter how hard I try, if/when I visit the Louisiana cousins that drawl creeps back in!
clue for sp 6/21
english by adoption, if that counts! my brother used to think that accents were genetic + the only reason WE didnt have an english accent was because we were adopted...heh
My husband is the same way. His parents are american, but he grew up in Germany. He didn't come back to the states until he was in high school. Then went in the army and they sent him bak to Germany. He speaks both like a native, except for certain words. It is really funny.
(a bit of trivia: my ex owns a hairstyling salon and personally goes to Al Gore's house to cut his hair . . . I assumed they'd have fascinating conversations but he says Al sleeps thru the whole thing -- LOL)
SP6/21 = SP5-6 combo -- jack SP5 could eat no fat...
sp6/21 plural of sp5/12
Eva, isn't it funny what we think when we are children
to this day, my brother swears he never thought that, but i distinctly remember the conversation!
ty gc..
ah, Eva, I'm very familiar with the filial selective memory! :-)
hi all. the di's please
di + consonant + ra4/4
(hey, magzel)
hey evaN, une, mags, green
hey, TO!
hi all - http://iusedtobelieve.com is fun for checking out (and submitting) cherished (wrong) childhood beliefs
thanks, dan!
My sister and I convinced my middle sister, who looked nothing like us, that she was adopted and we were having rinocherous meat and spuds for sunday dinner once. Well the spuds part was true! My sister and I got in so much trouble, because she wouldn't eat! She didn't care that she was adopted.
hi une and thanks for the clues
yw :-)
any clues for the me 9?
people always used to try to make fun of me + my brother by picking on us for being adopted. i clearly remember being on the playground in elementary school when someone said that...i just said "oh yeah? well my mommy and daddy PICKED me and yours just got STUCK with you!"
and my brother and i used to use it against each other...whenever i was mad at him, id say "mOOOOOOOOOOOOOOm!!! take him back -- you got a bad one!!"
good one evan, i can never think of stuff like that until later
hi eva, my older sisters are adopted. they say i'm the real one and Mom and Dad love me best. but i say the same as you, Mom and Dad picked you, they didn't expect me.
That is too good EvaN
Hi all!
hi Stid
i used to tell my bro that the stork dropped him at the wrong house + if he wasnt good, we would leave him on the porch to be picked up

{{{dorens}}} haven't seen you in ages -- how are you and the princess?
where does one find out the theme of the day?
we are fine stid.... Just got back from ten days in france, barge trip in burgundy and then a few days in Paris. babble withdrawal!
How are you stid, has anyone heard from fran and has feather had percy yet?
tres avec, dorens! LOL that must have been lovely.
we are fine and feather has the whole birth story up on her blog (baby was born sunday)
and his real name is Nicholas Logan...
any clues for st 5 (I have 4, I need 2 more)
oh great, will have to check it. And the trip was more than lovely... i ate and drank great food and fine wine and they had to roll me off the plane :)
my mother's first trip to france was barge trip on the seine, too, btw -- now when she goes it's for a whole month and she finds a nice place to stay for most of it.
plantgirl, do you know which ST 5 you need? are you using the list?
have you gone with her yet?
no dorens, i am not a very good traveler with all my allergies. maybe someday.
I didn't get to Paris until I was 50... and this was my fourth trip ( I love it inordinately!!)
And the allergies may improve with age, you never know! keep hoping so
:-) my mother always has such good tales to tell of the people and the food -- and brings back such nice pictures. I loved the ones she took a few years ago of the flamingos in the area near the mediterranean
I have 5/10, 5/10, 5/10 and 5/12
I think it's called the comarche?
you need the two st 5/18
they come at the end of all the ST, and the first is like dry grass
I've not yet been to the south of france,... somethingn to look forward to. But barge travel is so nice... you get out and walk along the canal, or bike, and really get to see the countryside... which is beautiful. Such flowers. I don't know how they do it
the second st 5/18 just changes the vowel
you may also need st5/10 - cattle or direct a vehicle
mother thinks it is the "laissez faire,' dorens -- they can't even tell her the names of the flowers! of course, when I try that method of gardening all I get are weeds...
YAY!Two days in a row finishing re words on my own!
thank stidmama
I get weeds even when I don't laissez faire, stid
well done Min! (I almost asked what you were doing home this time of day -- did you finally get some vacation?)
rofl... ah, the gardening life, eh dorens?
Yeah, summer school is over so i have some free time.
Min,what do you teach?
speaking of which, it is a lovely day and I should check on some of the areas of the garden. Going to head into town in a little and change cars with Tom so he has the air-conditioning in the evening.
My garden did miss me, Stid... we had some major major thunderstorm activity here.
ok.. bye stid. see you later
Min -- are you going to post pics of your cottage one of these days? I am curious because I am sure my mental picture is not what it's really like!
yes dorens, the weather has been so strange and nasty back there this summer. okay, see you all this evening/tomorrow!
I teach English as a Second Language (ESL). I taught a reading program during the summer though. We go back to school after Labor Day. Not looking forward to it. Once I go back, Babble time will be very limited
any clues for se 5 ( I have 5/10)
we really need an esl teacher at my school// we have many mexicans, some albanians, bulgarians, macedonians, philipinos and our "esl" person somehow got certification, but it's really not her thing... she is a bsi teacher
se 5/10 is plural of se 4/4 word & other se5/10 adds a vowel to I se 4/4 a letter in the mail plantgirl.
the second pe6,21 please
We have a good mixture at my school two. There are 2 ESL teachers at school including myself (big school)
what grades? (mine is k - 8)
My second pe6/21 is irritate.
think that's the third.. i seem to be missing the second too
My other pe6/21 is French think.
that's my first
Okay, then I can't help! =)
me neither!
my school is k-5 with 850 kids
wow. mine is k - 8 with 450. much smaller classes
thanks minveryork
our classes average 25; there are just 150 average to a grade level!
firework
yay green
Yay for greenbay!
hey there fellow teachers is this our last babble spree before the ....
don't say it onyx
couldn't
Congratulations greenbayladi on fireworks! Hooray!
heck no; I find time to play during the school day--recess and lunch!
i love being able to sit down at any time during the day and babble a bit... instead of the frantic, frenetic pressure to do it all in the evening, when there's other stuff to do
My school is pre-k to 5th grade. I think over 500 kids
oh, our school computer blocks the site, which is just as well.... have my own office and would be tempted too much otherwise
our school used to block the site, however, the teacher I work for uses it as a reading/spelling game for class
evenong all..can someone clue me the st8 pls?
htey manage to keep us pretty busy. there is n't really free tme in high school
more of the st7
I can't play Babble at school. My district has blocked any game website. I guess because of the kids or for Babble addicts like myself. I do get Lickety's list, so I use that at work sometimes. That site is not blocked
those folks who help out on planes, and trains
oooh i love hearing teachers complain about the work load....now im out of teeaching..lol
mc, i hope no one ever unblocks it at my school
good luck finishing everyone.. Have a great afternoon
oh no, min,, you shouldn't have told me!!!!
thx dorens
yw rolin
the only drawback is that they block the word lists so if you get stuck you are stuck until you get home
i'm just afraid that my addiction is too strong... all these kids will be waiting outside my door needing help and i'll be babbling away!
LOL Dorens!
we have kids that hang around our computers and help play.....have to shoo them back to work
dorens..i used to love getting the detention room..cos id sit at the desk playing babble..while the kids just had to be wuiet..
I keep two tabs open. One tab is Google and one tab is Babble so if anybody comes into my room I can hop over to Google quickly. Now how pathetic is that?!
the teacher and I help each other out; she plays on her computer, me on mine and then we share lists!
my son's school had inadequete it ( read that unblocked computers) you should see the crap they get into!!!!
oh i can just imagine that rolin
my problem is that i'm the school counselor, self scheduling, and would feel so guilty babbling. somedays i check before leaving hte house and if i have a heavy evening planned and it's a big grid, i print it out and work on it during lunch
but that's just not the same. i like playing on the computer
I don't chat much but like to see what all is going on elsewhere
It's not the same using Lickety's either. At least it is something! Then I come home & enter into Babble site
I've got my husband hooked....if I can't finish I let him know and he does it for me
withthe bulk/add.. does that mean if you enter it into lickety's, you can transfer easily when you get home, min?
My husband won't go near Babble with a 10 foot pole!
mine wouldn't either at first....just sat back and watched the grid from across the room giving me words
In fact, many times it's caused some arguments with us.My husband thinks I neglect other responsibilities
sorry to have to leave... will be back later to finish my last nine (I KNOW i neglect other responsibilities, fortunately there's no husband here to mind tho)
Can anyone clue me for the 1st oa5/10 plz. I just can't get it.
there's no one at my house except the two of us; if he wants it done he does it.
hello
Don't know.Never have tried reverse.Good question!

Breaks your heart doesnt it? But the vets all said she'd never make it to 6 so she's done very well
utterly ...
we're giving her the time of her life this summer and then we'll see what the winter brings
its sooooo hard when you know they are getting sicker and sicker
I'm kinda hoping (in a not too awful way) that one day we'll just find her asleep if you know what I mean
rather than a trip to the vets I mean

Greetings, all.
{{{{artlady}}}} enjoying your last few days of freedom?
Hello artlady
Ata you got mail
got distracted - trying now
last few days is right, stid! Altho I've been in several days trying to get my room ready.
sure -- my mother went in yesterday for a little bit to get her class list... and kids don't arrive until after Labor day out here!
but I always like schools when the kids aren't there... so peaceful!
got it - thanks
glad it helped.
okay, since it seems pretty quiet here, I am off to be unproductive in other ways. (got half the carport emptied a little bit ago, going to do the rest later this afternoon) see you-all later!
bye stid!
Bye stid

Hi deb, give me a few mins...on phone
Hello fellow Baablonians! I've 3 left and could use some help, please.
*SINGS* what makes me think i could start clean-slated? the hardest to learn was the least complicated...
Fire away gramma, we'll help you :)
hrmmm...no Indigo Girls fans in here, eh? oh well, ill just silently hum to myself then. :)
PE6 before the bother.PE7 before the contained. And last but not least ME9, before the nylon fabric.
PE7 = the bother PE6 with a consonant stuck in there
LOL EvaN, your talent was wasted on us
ME9 = ME + mailed a letter + long time
me+mailed a letter+long length of time
pe6 = spamish coin currency before the euro

Whats the question anyway Ata, just out of curiosity?
ta 5/18 & 6/30, please
typical me, needing to know abut the one thing babblers dont know about! I will ask BJ if I see him. Because I've got to draw a ship from Tolkien's books and I can't get to grips with what size or shape it should be
the second pe6,21 please
Ooh that's an interesting one.
Cant be bothered this evening to do this, so see you on Thursday as I am out for a curry tomorrow night

ta
Ah, got it. My daughter's at ISU, but not in art.
ditto, Ata!
lots of my words in this puzzle!
one day I'm going to be a professional artist *said in a 10 year old voice*
Me too, Ata! I just made a piece for a show in Louisiana...the first piece I've shown in decades!
oh wow!!
and I have an exhibition coming up in Oxford, my first one!
Congrats!! Is that your work on the website in your bio?
artlady, hope your piece for Louisiana isn't made of anything that can melt . . . jeez . . .
yup :):)
Thanks, Une! It isn't.
Ata, my mother does Celtic scrolls for her SCA group.
oh wow :D
Ata you never said about the exhibition!?!?!?!
got sidetracked with Atalante's photos. very nice!!
t
is a secret really! that just slipped out LOL
Secret no longer! Be proud!
You're a bad girl, when is it and for how long and everything.
Yes, details!
ra5/18 -- more uncooked
ta 4/4 anyone?
You make her tell us artlady!
LOL well its only a kind of ... the Tolkien Society has their yearly conference in Oxford in September, and they invite lots of nice Tolkien artists to come and exhibit
ta4/4 plural of the stuff on the road
ta4/4--artsie town in NM
how exciting!!
which is why I have to draw this &&^%*(^%$ ship. I promised I would, for them. *sigh*
got that one thanks ... do you have the other one?
Can member of the general riff raff view too?
That is great, ata. What is the ship supposed to represent? Where, who, etc?
mom clued it, plantgirl
thanks
tado
I think the general riff-raff can come in too, I'm not entirely sure though
The ship is Vingilot, Earendil's ship in which he sailed to Valinor. Its a very tricksy ship because Tolkien never gives very stable descriptions! It can be sailed by 1 person. It can be sailed by a crew of 4. But it has oars! etc etc
I could always carry your portfolio for you :)
sounds good!
Aaack, Ata! That's a challenge!
oa6 please
ata, here's a version from France: http://tinyurl.com/28nkfz
oa6 plural of oa5/10 western films
what kind of drawing - charcoal, colored pencils, graphite?
Hello all - have had connection problems all day - but fireworks at last tx for good clues
congrats, ursh!!
ty
aww I love the swans! there are lots of drawings of the stupid boat, but I dont think that any actually are very seaworthy lol
:-D
Hi Ursh and congrats
um. it will probably end up as coloured pencil over watercolour
Sounds good, Ata.
i have a colored pencil how to book, but not very good at blending
step 1) have lovely soft pencils otehrwise forget it!
Google reed boats Ata and then add norse influences?
You could get beautiful textures with the hull work and decorations
ooooh reed boats, thats a good one. I've been googling "single sails" "one sail" "viking ships" etc etc etc etc etc
have prismacolor brand
oh yeah, prismacolors are nice for stuff like that
Just emailing you one interesting bow shot from google Atta
TYTY!
They're nice, but too pricey for me to use with my students. We use the Crayolas, also soft.
i need some lessons. maybe there's an adult ed class somewhere
I use Caran d'Ache, but you dont tend to get them over there, I think?
I LIKE that, FM!
Oh, Ata, those are very nice. Yes, we can. I have... (have to check!)...
There are 2 more on the way
Derwent! Just got them recently.
what age do you teach, artlady?
oh they are lovely :D aren't pencils just wonderful these days!
2nd thru 5th grade and university, deb.
BRB must put kettle on
strange question, artlady ... how long a lead do you recommend for coloured pencils for detailed work?
I'm not very proficient with them, Ata. I find (in my limited experience) that if they're too long they break too easily. However, you are probably more knowledgeable than I in this area!
That was my non-answer... ;-)
LOL I do too, but I know extremely clever artists who have leads about 1/2 - 3/4" long. And I'd love to know how they cut them and stop them snapping!
could I have a clue for the me9 please
Yikes! I just have to keep re-sharpening them--I'm afraid to go that long!
me too!
I'm working on it too, katie
me
me + **** a letter + age
me -then posted -then a bygone...
me + I **** a letter earlier today + the victorian ***
thank you both :-)
thanks!
how are the little fluff bundles, katie?
They sure are cute!
Sorry atalanta - I was lost in the grid. Crumble (the lighter one) is poorly again but she is good at taking her medicine, apart from that they are normal kittens, into everything they shouldn't be!
third we5,18?
awwwww what's wrong with the babe?
what kind of med? i work in a small animal hospital pharmacy.
debjed, the opposite of east with an extra vowel.
She has a bladder infection which she gets from the older cats biscuits (obviously these have now been removed from the house) but it frightens me when she wees blood!
'luck all. I have to go do some other work...bbl!
The meds are an anti inflamitary
bye artlady
bye artlady!
thanks for clue. hope kitten feels better. bye artlady
ouch!
oh, katie, have you got a pets@home nearby? they sell kitty cranberry treats that are specifically made for urinary infections
Atalante, that's a great idea I will get some tomorrow, after all it works for humans :-)
they seem to work for a cat I know who has chronic urinary infections, they've really helped her. you'll probably have to break the treats in two for a tiny kit, but hey
Fireworks :-) I'd better go and cuddle my poorly kitty, thank you for your help, I'll let you know how she gets on.
yay, give her cuddles for all of us
Hah! My child goes off to do something useful just as I arrive! I've decided on a new tactic: don't look anything up. Less stress.
good job katieW. kiss the kitty
me thinks you're addicted, Erilar! I've seen you around far too much!
Hi Erilar
FM! THE DRESS has made its way onto youtube for worldwide amusement
never said I wasn't becoming hooked. I've just decided I need more practice doing it without opening multiple windows that only further demonstrate my inablilty to read in zigzags.
How funny, it was only a matter of time! Read in zigzags, ready anti clockwise and stand on your head. All kills you will acquire in babble land.
kills??!!
Oh heavens there goes the typing again *all skill
lol mitch, hi ya'll
Think I had better just take a back seat and sip my tea Hi grammaterri
if only i were as limber in "real life" as i am in "babbleland"!
I can't believe I just got the last me5 and was like oh yeah that word lol
hi gramma! hi everyone!

Hi Folks - back for my last 7 and as I got stuck on those before I went to the train station to pick up my son I'll likely be asking for clues. Need 3 wa words , 3 ta words and 1 te.
it's passing south of the Big Island which is to the southeast of us, so it's pretty far away right now
hi sandie!
Hi, Sandie
Hi Sandie...I'm not playing today just on for a quick bit before it is feeding time at my house...I have yet to master being at the computer and feeding :) (take it away on the clues fran!)

eww...hornet's nest...no thanks!
Does anyone in the chat have access to a Denver Colorado telephone directory? Jade used to live two blocks from my friends in Englewood, CO, whose number I cannot find. Any help from Babblers?
sandie, one of the ta5 is plural of small bones in the foot, black sticky stuff + a vowel
another ta5 is a longer way (sounds like) to spell the black sticky stuff, ends with a vowel
i only have two ta5/10s right now
thinking inge.
I think we have one here (denver Phone book)
there must be something on-line
any clues for the me 9/60 pls
FranMag - does the black sticky stuff have one or two consonants?
cos - I can't find where to put the vowel.
try this inge: http://colorado.findlinks.com/
tardis ought to be in the dictionary.
aha - I got it!
sandie, for the first one i clue, it's plural of the black sticky stuff, sorry

deb, do you have the one that's a prize?
we tried people search and google tel search,

did you see this one inge? http://colorado.findlinks.com/
FranMag, that link takes me to Colorado Yellow Pages, this is a private person, not a business
re6/21 flame re****ant
sandie, ta5/10 starts like the one you have, add **t still (what you tell your kids in church)

hi heather! congrats :)
time is short though, he's due to be hungry soon
it was an awesome trip. 6 guests on the tour with a bear biologist. All bears for a whole week!!!

yes inge, there are three "tabs"
unreal that you're already doing that feather...I didn't even have time to think about that until this week...same here in the hunger department so I may depart at any point
inge, click on "people phone book"
cool heather
wow...that sounds like quite the trip deb...I've only been to Alaska once and (sad to say it) the best place to see bears was around the dump
ok, one more time then!
go sandie!!
good luck inge (you're in good hands w/ fran or I would have piped up too...I think she has you on the right track)
i often try setee (my grandma had one - a name for sofa). how is it really spelled? this trip was on the coast of the Alaska penninsula, no dumps there. just hiking in bear country. (actually in the same places as timothy treadwell)
hey jellen, thanks for the 8s, i missed your post and had to scroll back. :-)
hi, clue please for me9? (in fact, any me clues--i have just the me4 and can't seem to see any other!)

Just 3 wa words left - last wa5/18, wa8/65 and wa6/30 - all in row. Any clues appreciated plz.
oh that must make things a lot harder!
Sorry, Fran, that does not work for me
can't find the name or the page for personal numbers inge?
not hottest not coldest
wa5/18 = H2O
that's tough kristin, what they are and aren't eating is always a cause for stress!
we had already said this was the last one for us (until we finally made some headway) this week...it was beyond insane..1 1/2 hours for him to get less than 2 oz only to do it all over again an hour later...things finally just "clicked" this week (of course right around his actual due date)
cant find page for personal numbers, name is Linda Susakin Englewood
oh - how did I not see the H20?
poor guy!
sounds stressful kristin!!!!
wa8= H2O + adult males
I think we'll get there (thought I had my doubts...pretty rought first few weeks). If all goes well, we can turn in all the scales, pumps etc. that are cluttering up our house on Friday...yipee!
wa6/30= plural of H2O
ty jell

Hi Gwen

this grid hardly looks like it could have 213 words, at first glance. congrats to the finishers!!
did your stand-in midwife ever show up?
nope. but it was ok.
you lucked out with the on-call doctor for sure.
i just think it's so funny how i went from totally silent labor to a very loud pushing stage

wa8 might not jump out, but when you get the wa5/18 and the wa6/30 on either side it will
i just found some that rhymes with a frog-like creature that i think is not normal...

Hello Inge. Who are you? :)
Since I'm just over 1/4 again, I think my near-term goal is going to be getting a third of the words. Then I'll work for half. . .
just an old friend
Old? I thought we just met recently.
Good idea to have incremental goals, Erilar.
