He had promised to contact my employer and had not done it. I said I felt like he had let me down. He got real mad, and said I had no right to feel like that (!) and that he did not agree at all that my doctor had given me antidep meds. HE felt pushed aside, he said.

i respect that mrp, i don't know sprite at all so i am being devil's advocate but have worked with clients who have intepretations of things that don't necessarily reflect actual events. yes their interpretation is important but it is also important to get a firm grasp on reality

hi BabbleRabble! Couldn't really get through to the therapist, and he agreed that he has issues with making things personal to him. He claims that goes with being a humanly therapist and not a robot. I think there is some more professional gray in between, but I also realise he is just a mediocre therapist who cannot do much better. Since my employer is making trouble as it is already, I decided to practise handling things like this on this therapist and not make waves towards the work right now.
if it had not been the therapist my employer insisted I'd take, I would have stopped now, but I think I better let it be for now, until the work issues are settled.
at least I managed to stay strong and not let him talk me under the table... I stood up for myself, which is some gain, I think.

But I have decided I will have to learn to handle people like that better... and he will do as training object for now. Until I know how work will go, I will stay there. How's this for getting things in perspective? I'm privileged to have an 86-year-old WW2 heroine as a friend. She is Dutch - one of those people who secretly helped pilots get back to England. Her late husband pretended to be an SS officer but was eventually caught and put in a concentration camp, but survived. She is also an artist, photographer, brilliant duplicate bridge player and teacher, and avid reader of important books. She suddenly went blind two days ago and can only distinguish light from dark. When I spoke to her on the phone today she said "Oh, it's just another challenge." And if I know this wonderful lady, she will meet it and defeat it.
Hopefully the government will release 2 years of rehab and my brain is still broken will give me disability pension
