eh, the work is stuff i don't want to do, but needs done. they sent 8 items. :|
:)
and i oft flip between here ond work stuff.
well ya think for a saturday nite id have something better to do lolol but hubby is doing a double shift and wont be home till 10.30
younger son is in samoa for two weeks with his grandfather
and oldest son hiding out in his room so noone sees his nose cast lol
cool, i get to send them back. They did not give business justifications, and manager did not annotate. :) My inner bureaucrat so loves this bit of the job.
nose cast?
kieran was attacked by another student at school last week and had his nose operated on on thursday to straighten it
oh, sorry to hear.
oh shit kiwi!! that is bad
oh wow groovy! what happened?
my mother, her 1st younger brother, and their father all have broken noses. uncle and grandpa got in fights, mama ran into an open car door at the age of 4.
hey kier ltns happy babbling
i'm glad the damage is fixable, if uncomfortable/embarassing.
well another student had been bullying him qutie badly the last few weeks and kieran finally blew his top and fought back this time
unfortunately the other kid is a student of the gloves and fought back even harder
im just happy we have two weeks spring break now and he can hide out at home with his cast (which needs to be on for a week) and not have to put up with being riddiculed at school
i didn't know you could have a nose cast. i shattered bones in my face and had a splint wired through ...
that is nice that he doesn't have to wear it to school. Now then, is the school going to do anything about the situation that lead to this?
how old is he groovy?
the school will be kissing your arse not to sue.. it is their responsibility to address bullying
hes 15 in dec
the school definately aint kissing my tooshie
in fact its the opposite so i have written a very harsh letter to the board of trustees (its a private school)
and ive also got a member of the local tv station news team on standby
only problem is that hubby and i arent agreeing on this = he just wants to let it blow over and i sure as heck dont
wohoooo half way finally lol
good on you kiwi. the police won't take it lightly
the police have said that unless we can prove kieran DIDNT throw the first punch then they cant do anything
i'm with you on this, kiwi. I think hubby has it wrong.
does the bully have a history??
has the school no records of the pattern of bullying/abuse?
oh a big one - he only got suspended for 1 day
Groovy - we had a bad spate of school bullying earlier this year - tv program picked it up and found first team rugby players are taking steroids causing bad aggression issues and lots of fights and injuries and even a death so our schools have had to look into the drug issues in sport
Hi all
his history is not enough to claim self defence on kieran's part?
good eve natasa happy babbling
guess not dc
hi, natasa
persue it kiwi... don't let those pricks get away with intimdation... they will only keep doing it
but im going back to see the youth aid officer on monday
hing is a food, but not acceptable.
The "hitter" is into a strength sport - they need to test him for steroids
yes ursh, absolutely!
Hello everyone
having been on medical steroids part of last year, and had some anger issues, you're absolutely right, ursh!
i have friends who have friends in the same boxing club and they said that they would sort him out
because hes using his skills outside of the ring he can be busted for it
well, that's something.
i hope that kiwihubby sees that your son needs support, not to turn the other cheek... it is awful to be bullied
its not so much that mrp he knows i have a very short fuse and thinks i need to calm down
Well good luck Kiwi - the investigations in SA showed clearly bullying was often sport/drug related and in all the more serious cases the "bully" was a first team, usually rugby player
what does your son want to happen Kiwi?
he doesnt know
he knows he wants to go back to school but it seems that the bully is out to get him again when he gets back or so his mates tell him
Kiwi does your son get bullied?
Thank god for the three letter endings.
yes natasa he also wants to start learning ma
martial arts - and ive found a good class for him that makes more emphasis on self defense
awww ok
useful skill that, kiwi, i study Bagwa and TaiQiFa for that purpose.
we are looking at hapkido
hapkido is a good form for defense. I have friends in Colorado who study that, and we have many schools for that here, too.
whew. halfway finally.
i thought youd be well ahead of me dc lol ive got 159 left
i'm dyslexic, so it takes me a while to get in the groove of it.
How old is yur son?
ewww look out for the little horrible 8 legged creatures in the grid - aracnophobic i am lol
he is nearly 15
ohh...poor thing...jeez i hate those bullies
!!!
I am ST blind today
im not a fan of them either natasa but my first experiene of the kiwi school system as far as bullying hasnt been impressive
oh k
i think i'm word blind today mrp, and hi all!!
howdy, mva
hi mva :)
hi mva :)
sorri mrp..didnt realise you wrote that aswell
good eve mva happy babbling
hello MVA
i started this grid then i saw the size of it!!!!
it's not as horriffic as it may seem. Though unlike usual, the Ws and i are not getting on tonight.
ive got 127 left after first run through clues - the qu's are stumping me
so time to take a second trip through the clues before restoring to the helps lolol
all the S's are done! phew
im gonna go take a break maybe back later maybe not - depends on whether i fall asleep in front of the tv or not lol
my big dinner has got to me lol
later, kiwi!
night kiwi
ah, the hairy-nosed dolphin :)
and that gave me something for each tile
ph4 is a stupid word...
it is mrp!
Hi! what do the 10 and 11 start with, please?
nide
hi chic
Hi MVA, freebie....
FIREWORKS
congrats pigeon!!!!!
Congrats Pigeon !!!!!

Hi Infernal
hi herin
7009 points
Hi back
thanx Pigeon, i got the 10 now...
Anyone need a clue or two before I go?
morning dear gang
i'm back. Good morning, sprite.
Hi sprite
THe Er 10 and 11 would be lovely
Hi sprite and SC
DC
hi sprite
Hi Sprite
hello, lady
add an e to the front of the ra9
wow, an 11 word today :D
Sprite i went to the Tulip Festive today and it was dutch weekend
weekend
ty, pigeonman.
was it fun, lady? Pretty?
for the re 11, add to the front of the ra9
yw
too easy - thanks Pigeon
Midnight here. I'm gone. Happy babbling.
It was very pretty. My icon is one of the pics i tool
took (sorry im tired)
bye Pigeon - thanks again
nite pigeon, and ty for the clues
owwww beautiful black tulip!
night pigeon
lady, i have that variety in my purple garden. it's most lovely.
She is named Queen of the Night.
g'night pigeon
deservedly so
going now, happy babbling folks!
oh wowwww 13 Q words! This grid is so much fun!
ciao, mva
bye MVA!
i'm 2/3 done, and haven't greyed a letter yet.
I just started, so I might be forced to change my mind somewhere later, lol, but so far I love this grid. And I have time to play it, which is even better.
what the froog
I just got kicked off
how dare they!
I know rude. I was talking pretty tulips
my browser does that at home sometimes, the chat log bogs my ISP, making the browser choke.
no manners, those kickers.
I thought it was babble as even licketys stopped working
I used to have that problem, but no more with Lickety's browser. I don't even use the 2nd letter tips, but I love the smoothness of how it works... and the lickety Add feature... and of course the extra fireworks, lol.
it works fine here, lady
I couldnt even log into licketys or mozilla or ie7
now i have licketys open just in case
holy smoke! Just realised I'm more than halfway!
yay jilli!
GO JILL
loving your videos Sprite - nice selection
that sounds more like a local problem then, lady. Jilli! Wtg and hugs :)
Hello
I am glad, lynxxx! Thanks :)
hi Natasa
Hi Natasa
Its working now Sprite so meh
great lady
Hi sprite -- sad to say, I haven't had time to finish lately and won't this time either so have only seen your first funny video
franmag sent me a whole lot of videos on the day of her sister's accident for me to put up in babble fireworks next week... should I still do it??? Or should I ask someone else to do videos??
hi mrp
jilli, in a short while lickety will add the links to the list and you can see them anyway :)
i vote for use them, as she bothered to send them, even on that day.
Mr Pres i would do it maybe say Frans sister Tribute?
oh mrP... I really don't know. Maybe better to hold on to them for a while? I think my selection can bind us over for a little bit longer?
I'll try to do that sprite, and yes, I think you should put up fran's choices
how would we do frans sister tribute?
Well i mean err. Fran sent them thus i think um errr errr
any of you have the last ni5/12?
gotcha :)
I think i know what i mean
NO more Q words
Finally, the AC is kicking back in. It was way toasty for a bit. I shudder to think what it'll be like next month when they turn on the heat.
DC is your office Season controlled not temp controlled?
and they are not all funny, jilli... some are quite serious, but interesting. Yesterday's was one of my favorites, a savant autistic man telling about how he experiences numbers and other things. It is amazing.
holly crap i just saw 62 S words
the norm here is AC 15 Apr-15 Oct, heat rest of year
we're in a temporary room, 45 computers and upto as many peoplo, and twice as many flat-screen monitors
at night, from 22-04, ther's no HVAC at all.
bler
the 52 7s didn't scare you?
no
happily, i work nights, so not more than 12 of us at a time.
thats 58 of them and most will be ER or S or ING
not at all, dc... they are so promising! And there is this ending that helps a lot for most, lol.
yes, thi ING has been good for those.
penalty box, dc?
and it doesnt help that i am finding words quicker than i can type in
slow down the brain and speed up the monkeys, lady, lol
something like that
I found the Qu words
woot, found the real biggies
Yah Sprite
WTG, sprite!
50 more 7s
I love it when real biggies are relatively normal words :)
the er10 was new to all of us here at work. We'd never seen it before.
true, I did not know that one either. But the 9 and 11 are relatively 'normal' to me.
i agree.
i've still 2 mor 9s to go.
same here
oh, wait, only one. One is very close in meaning to the 11, lol.
fcking stupid sob i just got booted
IF i get booted again. Farewell ill be back later
yes, that's the 9 i have.
Infernal - it's not just you, I am having Babble go down too (at the same time as you)
mmmm
That was the pg version of what im thinking
so it's an issue in Oz only apprantly. May be a router outage over there.
dc: there is one 9 there that has the same form, only not again. The other 9 has a little bit the same meaning... making warm again.
Sprite is it another RE 9? as in 2 re 9s
yes lady
mmm k
one is ra9 and one is re9
ty, sprite, i'd not looked beyond the d.
and the third?
yw :)
no third yet here
ok
re9/84 is the last
Can i have a clue for that pleasE>
i don't have it yet, but i have either side of it. If i get it, i'll clue.
I keep wanting to draw that T and that H together.
i keep wanting quiet, bit it's phantasmagoric today. I want requiem, too, but alas.
nearly at 100
lol, i only found 126 so far
I have been booted twice
this is really fun. If one ending does not fit, the other does, most of the time. Wonderful.
I was calling the tulips Sprite flowers today
wow. my last 148 words are worth almost as much as the first 220.
awwwww lady that is so sweet!
They reminded me of you.
There was this awesome fire coloured tulip.
owwww! I love those!
The visitors were really rude. There is a section of tulips below the main area that you could sit among ( if you wanted, i didnt) and people were siting on the beds in the main display area despite the big 'stick to the main path' sign.
some people...
oh, much larger display than the one here in the spring.
This is were we went
http://www.tulipfestival.com.au/
oh my! we've nothing of that scale. Our bitty tulip display competes with the cherry blossoms, though, so i'm not surprised that it's smaller.
wow, that looks like holland indeed!
looks exquisite.
Its very pretty. Lots and lots of people. I said to the boy they needed to create a talking plant so it barks at people ' get of the garden' My boy bought me 5 tulips too
re 9.84 -- add to stop (as in, it is 5PM; time to **** for the day); and the participle or gerund ending
LOLLLL good idea. And which tulips did you get?
thanks BabbleRabble, will go look. First idea did not work... not the Q word :)
um. I got me a red one, yellow one, queen of the night, a pink one and an orange one he picked them
Thanks babble
d'oh. i'd tried w/out the gerund, and didn't thing it'd take it with. ty, babrab
it is Sprite
wonderful, lady! Can you grow them from bulbs where you live? Or is it too hot?
is it? Then why doesn't it work here?
No its not too hot to grow them but it was very sweet to get flowers
yes, a sweet gift indeed
thanks for the re9, babrab -- how about the 11?
a spot of copper, like a penny, in the water keeps them fresh longer.
It was a lovely day outside too.
re + giving off warmth again, jilli
Thanks dc they are sitting in a tin glass at the moment
re+ ra9/72
Hi Jilli - giving out (heat) again
I am totally babbled about that first 9. It will not take here.
****ters never win; and winners never quit
that one took me a while, too sprite. making he4/5, like a steam he4/5 system.
Sprite STOP IT ing
thanks babrab and sprite
Sprite - you may be trying it with a double t? single only (its actually not ending something but more payment for something)
yesssss that is what I try... and it does NOT take!
dc, I have that one. I mean the one BabbleRabble clued first.
you'll get it. took me 15 min of trying.
no, I try it with single and it does not take
RE look at the chat box direction
I have the word, I just cannot get babble to except it. This is SO weird.
od
odd
it is excepting it, as it's not accepting it. :)
gonna reboot babble, brb
yup, now it takes. Total weirdness. Must have been a crooked byte.
how odd.
and I am sorry for posting the letter.
no dramas i was about to accidently put the word in the chat
lol, and I see BabbleRabble DID put the four letter word in the chat in his effort to help me... I thank you all :D
problems problems someone said life is full of problems
yeah... and some say it is full of solutions. Mostly painters.
some chemists might agree
i'm a musician, and also an optimist who believes in solutions, though not for everything.
im misssing 4 C words
LOL babrab
Time to ing and ed and s everything
and even some politicians, but they are lying.
and ier
politicians believe whatever is convenient at the moment
guys guys... what are you doing, putting all the endings in the chat!
too true, BabbleRabble. Too true.
*resists temptation to list the rest*
They haven't got their control pants on today, Sprite - to stop them revealing endings. Good morning/evening all.
ops sorry.
morning Haz
their control pa5, Haz... sigh. And morning
Sorry sorry sorry sorry my bad. I didnt think that was bad.
hi, haz
as many words as there are today, we're bound to use a few without thinking.
asdljfalj;fjka;lkjdf - will go to penalty box and there sit on my hands.
lol Haz... join the club :D
good morning afternoon evening babblers
hi, loredana
sorry about that -- thought they were pretty obvious
dc, it is the using them while we are thinking that astounds me!
hi dc s
That is funny. Oh well. I have had too much sunlight today. Hi Haz and lore
hey lore!
hey Sprite!!
hi haz and lore
hey Herin
hello Jilli
Hi Loredana
hello Lynxxx
what a super duper grid like this one
Greetings all - retreating to box.
kiwis are rather silly looking, aren't they.
I am so much enjoying it, lore!
Hello Haz
if they had legs, we would poison them, dc ;)
get some speed typing in here today hey
are they dc s??
Thanks for the laugh
well, I have 136 left and it's past bedtime so I'll bid you all good babbling and hit the pillow
Night Jill
*hugs jilli* Sweet dreams and sleep well :)
goodnite Jilli
well, to me they are. i'm sure possums are just as odd to you.
g'night jilli
sleep well jilli take care see you soon
possum.... oh my... Dame Edna coming to mind immediately!
No odd is anteaters
you must be a city guy dc lol Sprite
good call, lady.
i love possums
or the Platypus
i grew up in a semi-rural area, with school breaks on a farm.
I agree on the Platypus. A3eater is almost in the grid today, btw.
platypi are pretty.
i guess the kiwi is an unusal looking but i have never really given it much thought
with the males having toxic barbs
we eat kiwis here.
i'd not until i looked at your profile pix. i grew up seeing drawings of them on Kiwi brand shoe polish, but the photo is not like the drawings.
Australia the land of flora and fauna can maim your butt
:P sprite
did you have any racoons dc s?
Ever thought of taking up a job with the Australia Tourist Board, herinfernal?
they're common where i live, a carrier of rabies, and i've eaten a few in my day.
lore, did you see our pirate names have the same beginning?
oh, good call, Haz.
I love raccoons... as long as they are on a pic and not in my garden, lol.
thats a photo of a stuffed-toy kiwi isn't it Loredana ?
I love Aus we have the best things - oh look its a cute cuddly wuddly Koala till it pees on you. And no we dont have kangaroos hopping down main street and no we all dont say strewth and crickey
You surprise me.
lynxxx, what a delicate icon! Pretty :)
really sprite i know that i think jilli and I share the second name
i figerud roos are like deer, you'd find themin the burbs mostly, and in some rural areas.
ty Sprite
I am Iron Kidd Charity
probably lynxxx I have never seen a kiwi sitting on his posterior
Nope no roos here. Havent seen a wild one since i went bush years ago.
I've heard they're masters of disguise, though.
bit like leprechauns really
plenty roos in Western Australia everywhere and we have had them in our main street
can someone try something for me? What you get when you go to www.kidzonly.nl ?
Yes, they can get away with anything and blame other animals.
Sprite Iron Morgan Bonney here
I prefer leprechauns. I got a few from haz.
You will keep them in quarantine for a while, though, won't you, sprite?
Roos are no good in the house
didn't have to, Haz... they magicked all contaminations away.
FlexPhoto's and stuff about joomla installation is what i see at that site, sprite
I get welcome to Joomalo
Welcome to Joomla!
I got me own leprechauns all the way from Ireland he goes everywhere with me on my key ring
Are there no dwarf kangaroos available. You'd have thought with all the genetic engineering going on someone would have got it organised.
nm about the link, problem is solved. An E missing in the referral.
you can have wallabies Haz
thanks... they should have said www.kidzonely.nl and got it wrong in their own magazine, lol
Are they masters of disguise as well, loredana?
or even rats
i kept rats for years, they're lovely pets.
I cant have rats im not allowed
The cat might eat the rat.
i kept them in an aquarium with a mesh lid.
yes i believe rats are very affectionate but not for me nor ferrets
the cat used to sleep on their 'cage'
the cat in the hat might eat the rat
ferrets disgust me and creep me out a bit.
the cat chases dogs. Its more like the boy want let me
The cat in the hat on the mat might eat the rat.
me too dc s but i have friends that have them
*Wanders in and heads straight for the penalty box. Sets down picnic basket and laptop by comfy chair* *Morning all*
how many words!!!! hello
me too, and i put up with them when i'm over at their places.
the cat in the hat on the mat getting a pat might eat the rat
lolol - goodmorning FM - time efficient as always
Good morning FMitch. We've had roos and rats. Just another day in babble.
Hi liz
hope the sin bin is well stocked
morning, fmitch and lizsark. and yes, 368. and 62 Ss
My friend had 2 pet rats i thought that they were icky
hello Liz!!
The fat cat in the hat on the mat getting a pat did eat the rat.
hi everyone
hi Lynxxx
Morning FM
hello Andree
hi, andree
Andree! Hi!
Good morning Liz, evening Andree.
Hi andree and liz
grandaughter staying the night for no other reason than to have her toenails painted, I really need to get a life
Lol morning lynxxx and Hax, Liz, lore, Andre, sprite and dc.
hey FMitch! I see you know your place :)
hi Fm
the fat cat in the hat on the mat getting a pat from a bat did eat the rat
that is sad
lol sprite
off to the grid
End of rat.
but, would he could with a fox in a box?
whats with the rats, bats and cats this morning?
More fat cat.
the fat cat in the hat on the mat getting a pat from a bat did eat the rat and then the bat
well, liz, once there was a a kiwi...
yay hello ursh
Greedy cat.
lol dc s
Perhaps Haz's bats in the belfry escaped thanks to the leprachauns.
watch out for that fox
Hi Ursh
that had to have a freebee
sounds good FM
and why has no one mention the gnat??
i wonder if i can find someone to do breakfast with when i get off work. So much for fasting for yom kippur.
Hmmm notice i still need 111 - am i supposed to lift my feet now??
It was an upperclass fox. It went for detox.
before or after they had her cooking sherry
Liz... penalty box with you, sigh...
fox barks keep me up at night sometimes - the sound of them is really creepy.
Penalty box for you liszark
Oh she drank it lore so they coun't get to it :)
more than cooking sherry involved here by the sounds of the chat, lol
Noooooooooooooooooo! Sorry! Haven't even looked at the grid yet *blush*
:D :D Liz... just teasing you. Just join us in the pen box and we will have strawberries and ice and chocolate and tea and anything else you want
back to the grid
sanitarium for you lot
*hangs head in shame*
lol Herin
Great grid today.
it is a great great grid today, Liz. So much fun :)
Hi FM you are right im zinging along
well its about time I had some fun! I'm off to get stuck in there!
guys, I am kinda certain there is a word like panini... but it will not take. Am I delusional or not?
It is, FMitch, though one to catch the unwary. I was caught out talking about control pa5/12. Who would have thought lingerie could prove a downfall?
I think it's a double n. LOL Did the elastic go?
most Victorian people, Haz.
The Italians love their paninis but maybe enable isn't cosmopolitan enough.
ok, thanks Haz :)
Haz could not control her control pa5...
No, elastic holding firm. I was preaching self-righteously about the need to wear control pa5/12 to avoid putting endings in the chat log.
so enable says we may have tacos, but not panini. wtf.
sum of itch kicked me off again
Oh forgot to bring coffee into the PB back in a tick.
Good day, everyone!!!!
Hello MM.
hello mm
morning, MM
Hi MM
hey movie my man :) Welcome to one of the best grids we had lately.
hi movie
So, anyone found any biggies? If so, clue me plz!!!!!
Hi Movie. I am not ignoring anyone im struggling with red lines of doooom
Red lines of dooooooom. A bank statement?
i only have 1 9 movie, to warm again
no Haz... red word could not be added lines of doom.
No the 'word can't be added' thing
Ah, that makes sense.
ra9: giving of warmth. re11: giving of warmth again. er10: is in between.
this time round I'm not having problems Infernal
oh well happens with large grids
maybe once you have more words, lynxxx ;)
i have 133 words but its hard going as im finding words too quick to enter
ty sprite
over half now and still flying
Sprite! thats not very nice! just cause I am way behind but then someone had to soothe the wild beast that was my husband trying to assemble new BBQ
so, no 8 letter words yet then?
Oh dear Lynxx did he follow the destructions?
Movie there is 17 8 letter words
the other 9 is re9/84, movieman. re + stop working + gerund ending
There are lots of them MM, you'll come across the 8s as you go through the grid.
Strangely enough he did Infernal
I apologise, lynxxx. You do great, considering the difficulties you have to overcome :)
lol Sprite
Thats why they are called destructions
lol movie... lots and lots. Better go find some on your own first, or I'll be busy clueing the next half hour or more... you want the 7s too I bet ;)
Bet I don't find any 8s Haz, 'cos I never do!!!!!
Movie theres lots and lots of words im finding just by adding common extra endings
so go surprise yourself, movie my man! You WILL find 8s on your own in this grid.
There is something very satisfying about the spread of grey across the tiles.
Yes, you will. It's only someone with a sc8 knowledge of vocabulary than you who would have difficulty.
I'm finding LOADS of 7s though!!!!!
gooooood movie!
not here yet, FMitch, but I am sure it will be later on :D
Yah and i managed to explain that with out adding the ending
GO moving
very well done indeed lady :D
Thanks Haz i got that one off that clue
Thanks for the clues, Sprite, but I did not get the 'er'. Is there another clue you can think of?
Merk, just drop the first letter from the 11.
Its one of those grids that the grey fill in rapidly towards the end.
ty
And as I head towards Tescos, I ponder if the mean wasp is st8 than the thrifty bee?
Haz you're a bit late with the tescos run today or has the late night slowed you down too?
I think so, Haz. It st5s more often, anyway.
To the shops! I am late, you're right. It's the lure of the grid.....
*waves at Haz* Always a pleasure to see you :)
bye Haz
Im going shopping today to spend some of my birthday money Woohoo. See you later Haz.
hasta, haz
Bye for now. I'm loking forward to coming back to this! BYe!
se you later Haz
later az
later Haz
have fun FM
looking. Type fingers, type!
bye haz
I won't finish today's grid because I have to leave, but it will break my heart. I've been doing so good. I have another hour here and that's not long enough for me.
I'm struggling with the 8's......Only found 1 so far....
Merk are you going out or flying out again
i have 8/17, MM.
Leave them till later then mm and you will find more.
An re8/55
I don't like leaving them till later Fmitch, I always like to get them out of the way as quickly as possible
that's one i'm missing
wi7 and 8 compound combo. The end of birds sidewise.
I'll see you all later..I'm finding it hard to concentrate and with only 210 words its too early for the list
g'night lynxxx
night lynxxx, sleep well
Bye lynxxx nice to see you :)
see you lynxxx
some biggies start au, movieman
an8 old and expensive... comperative
Gathers up laptop and picnic basket Leaves fireworks playing for others to enjoy and pootles off for a while. Happy Babbling.
i found the an9 first, then the 8. i've had a lot of that today, long forms, short form not occurring to me.
night lynxx
*waves at FMitch* Will miss you here in the penalty box :(
bye, FMitch
going to get dinner before they close the store down
lol, I understand, dc.
eq8 clue, anyone?
Well, have completed the grid so must go and do things. :(
e + stop working + picnic pest
wooooooot FMitch! Congrats and well done!
congrats, fmitch!
ty, sprite i figured it had to go that way, but was not getting there.
is an9 related to old treasures?
yes bonkler
yes, bonkler
Thanks you kind babblers *poof*
There isn't an an9 is there?
not seeing it, must be stunned lol
no
oh, no an8 is related, no an9
no movie, only a 7 and 8.
Didn't think so......
maybe that's why i'm not seeing it...have the 7 & 8 though lol
2x7 and an 8
one an7 not related though!
er7 anyone?
I have it , but hard to clue. Let me think.
er7: to *** is human, to forgive dev***. Put a consonant between these two parts.
ty. i almost monkey it, but didn't go far enough.
if I say so myself... I love my clue, lol
i liked, rather clever
a rare moment of inspiration
in7: not corrected publications
want an sc8/45?
awwww and my de4 hairy-nosed dolphin is back at last. I am a happy girl now.
morning everyone could i have todays stats please
don't run right away, cool girl... 368 words today
sc8/55 is one i need.
1x11, 1x10, 3x9, 10 x 8, 58x7
I have that one
thanks srite
yw and have fun! It is a wonderful grid today.
movie, also ra7 - 8 combo related to the ra9.
and re8: going out together again.
sc8/55 think briefer lingerie
that's the 8/45, no?
sorry crosseyed this morning!!
ty sprite
which one do you mean, dc?
all good, juls, i do things like that a lot. :)
try one of the other endings dcs
ah, ok, nm :)
sprit, i lack both sc8/5%
oh, look the other way. duh
sc5/12 clothing that is more revealing than covering. gerundise for 8/55
oh, ok, LOL
ty, chris
The q's are proving a headache.....only have 4 so far
once they click, they fly by.
lol... an4 and sp6, creepy grid. But also the dolphin and the big blackandwhite bear.
QUs, but for last 2, build on the 1st.
extend the q4/7, movieman.
exactly dc, that is what I mean :D
lol, brian, who sits behind me sounds like he's barely awake. OTOH, he left at 11, and was back in at 4, so that's reasonable.
hopefully he lives nearby.
ouch
sa7 knowing... think neanderthaler and change the end.
sc8/50 : look over generally or make computer copy + what you get when you kick your car
sh6: sh + not pro. sh7: same + consonant.
oh wow, i don't thing i'd ever have monkeyd that sc.
thought so, lol, hence the clue. It took me ages to get it.
sprite's babble rule #4. dc: try all endings on all words :D
i don't thin of that as an ending, though it's common enough in latin-rooted things.
there are a few in this grid with that ending
Had to use the clues, but got all the q's now
well done movieman. Not all of them came easy to me.
no, the qs wer rather a struggle, but they came. well done.
BR's consummate rule: All rules are meant to be followed; unless they aren't
q
yay for English.
awwww I love that one. enlightened anarchism :D
or anarchy... not sure, lol.
I can't believe there's 62 words coming from that bloody s!!!!!!!
i've got 48 of em so far, so i'm willing to believe.
I clued two that might not come easy, movieman... the sh clues.
Hi
wb, lady
fireworks for me :)
got nandos i swear the woman that runs the place is evil
WTG Sprite! :D
woopee!!! Sprite well done
Good for you Sprite!!!!!!
Woot sprite
well i would not eat her food Herin
I may have to cheat to finish this one!!!!!!
cheating how?
Sadly it was that or macas or bain mari of death
By using the word list and the first letter clues
lol herin
as atalante told me when I was a babble rookie: only looking up the actual words is cheating. The rest is... research :)
shift turnover and nearly time to head home, with 92 left. catch yall later. :)
I use more words and word match. I dont class anything like that cheating. Cheating is using a program to solve this thing
bye dc!
bye dc
bye dc take care see you soon
i agree with lady. {poof}
I sometimes use a2z. Not even that easy without 2nd letter clues, but very helpful.
In that case, he4/5 I go then!!!!!
I dont use the list till i have about 7 - 16 left. I use more words and enter HE** and words pop up and i hunt them down
ok guys, I have to go. Have fun and count your blessings. I count mine and you are one of them.
Take care Sprite
Or I could just use my mate punster's grid for assistance!!!!!
be well, sprite
bye Princess take care hugs
bye sprite
so how are we all
was someone looking for eq8/55?
i could do with a clue
could i have a clue 4 the 10 and the 11 please
eq(the 'u' is a side dish that comes with the dinner) + Thing + unwelcome picnic guest
expanding Thing = what one calls a Thing
ta
I know what ta means -- is there an informal reply? I've always wondered...
Shortened thank you. I think informal. Im stuffing my face at the moment
piner
good morning all. jwr, I don't get the "u"that is a side dish?
Hi Eva and Merp
hi herin
sorry, the 'piner' was a slip of the fingers. Speaking of shortening, Dear herinfernallady, do you have a shorter name? The "ta" is understood ; what I was wondering was whether there was an informal "you're welcome."
It was a shortened thank you and Herin is ok
Hi Eva -- too smart for me britches. All I meant was that the "u" came along with the "q" gratis.
ah so
Is there just 3 SH words please
4 of them herin
a 6, 2 7's and a 4
Thanks
is anyone here
here but deep in the grid
I'm he4, herin, but busy finding words.
opps
just got back herin
hi jac and nono

no, a word
try it again jwr
Its a word
Oops. Sorry, that was bad. I'm fumbling around too much; think I'll call it a night. Thanks, all.
Turning chat off as grid words are being posted.:(
nono...an7 more irate

Hey that was an accident Jac. SOme words are being a pest and not going into the actual grid
Hi rolin
My deepest apologies Jacula if you're still there. I'm still a newbie but I do learn from my mistakes -- promise I won't do it again.
hey herin...
jwr it is no biggy
it happens many times each day ... you didn't intend to post a word ... don't give it a second thought
ALso there has been an issue where say um HINGE is a word that is in the grid but its not entering *no hinge isnt in the grid im just explaining*

sc 8/50, a compound word isn't much better.
yes... sigh... the rest. and i wish i had all day so i could do it listless, but i have to go to my sister's baby shower this afternoon, so i have only a few hours.
i'm already losing track of which words i've already entered...
I keep being 1 or two words short of a grey tile
aww just had a photo sent from my son - he is 8 and his Dad has taken him and a friend over to France for the world cup rigby today. Missing him

Truffle Pie question....does anyone know what size pan is needed?
um
really big, so you can have lots of truffle pie
if the pan size isn't specificied in the recipe, that usually means a standard 8 inch pie pan
i'd imagine round, possibly deep dish if you have the volume.
Um make up the mix and then see. I was trying to think of the size in inches
Thanks
hello, hello
i've never made truffle pie, but i just usually use my standard Pyrex pie plate
HI RMC i was again in you neck of the words at th tulip farm
and if it requires baking- if you use a deep dish, i would recommend turning down the temp a bit and cooking a little longer so that the middle bakes
beautiful, isn't it? went last year. just gob-smacking
Yep cept stupid people were IN the patches that they were not ment to be in. I have fotos.
phantom: quinine
me too angel
hey angel- remove the E
yes, i so wanted quinine, not least to go with the gin.
You could shame but not name them on Australia's most wanted, herinfernal.
Ha ha Haz. No its just rude. There is giant signs that says stay off the flowers. There is a big field to run rampant in down the back.
Oh gin mmmm not my fav drink
nother phantom, dining, lost count of how many times i nearly put that in!!!
Running rampant. No control pa5/12 there.
hey haz
greyed the g!
I am monkeying words like mad today.
Good morning/afternoon/evening all.
Morning Haz!
i can't stand ING's ... even when I am playing Tangleword, I stay away from ING boards and Qu boards, and this one has both
tis a good grid for monkeys today angel
gonna start shamelessly begging for clues soon. just ran out of vocab.
have you checked to see the animal labor laws in your countries?
Haz! G'd morning. :)
okay, i must to sleep i shall endeavor to wake early to finish the last 81. Happy babbling, yall!
heeheee yes BR as long as they are well fed and cared for they are allowed to monkey as much as they want LOL
i am just going to set my 2 and 3 year olds down in front of the keyboard and let them have at it- probably do better than I am
clue pls, di6/27?
Lori - hello!
di 6.27 -- when the last rites are administered
heavens to betsy, who spells that that way?
thanx BR
sim t and p
clue pls, in7/32, the second one?
I expect you don't care when you are expiring, hurshy, but I get your point.
I let the kitty find words for me
any clues 4 the 10 or the eleven please
11- re + ra9/72
in 7 -- add what is done to a draft paper and add a vowel
thankyou so much
BR , you burn draft papers, don't you? well you did in the sixties
i don't have the 10 yet, sorry- only on the second row and haven't hit lickety yet
good one rmcc
lideola - lose the first letter of the 11 to get the 10.
don't have the ra9, help please
does anyone have the 10 yet
ra9 - giving off heat or warmth in a light manner
the ra9- what light or heat does this
thanks lideola
sorry BR, can't make sense of it, it's not your cluing, my brain is just about fried he4/5
er10/91 is formed by adding an e to the front of the he4/5
finally greyed a square
um...
p
BR, haz, pls help, i've only 6 to go, and i would really like to finish this one.
in 7 -- kenny rogers band before he went solo: first ****ion + a vowel

thank-you, thank-you, got it!!!
okay, pi6/27, pls?
* first one *
eq 8 --- e + stop + pismire
eq8 - first four letters as with the horse, a consonant, a picnic pest to finish
368 words, and a loss of several IQ points later, I are done!
congrats LoriP
WTG LORI!!!
Congratulations Lori - you're storing up brain cells, you just don't realise it.
haz? i don't understand how adding an e to the front of an he4 can give me a ten letter word
pi 6 -- apple blueberry pacan and favorite grid ending
YAH Lori
congrats, Lori
woohooo Lori, Congrats!!
No, it's not the he4/5 you're adding the e to, it's the ra9 that is the description of heat or light given off in this manner.
ohhh
that was a fun, but frustrating grid.
Sorry - it was me being careful about giving away a word in the grid. Penalty box avoidance leads to misunderstandings.
woohooo, got it!!! thanx BR
oh gosh. I've got 160 left. lucky lucky me
only on occasion
Congrats Lori !
hello ata dear!
Go Atlante go!
It did on this occasion. Greetings Atalante.
***Subliminal hugs to GrannyM, we loves ya'***
We loves the GrannyM
Glad you got it, rmc.
sa6/18, pls?
s + opposed to + *ough grid today
sa 6 -- *** francisco and michelin goodyear
I dreamt I moved into FM's new big house by the sea and between us we had 4 black cockers and about 10 cats
or, *otten grid today.... :)
What a nice dream!

sh7/36, pls?
Bye Lori
Bye Lori.
sh 7 -- add a consonant to the sh 6
That's true, Atalante, you talked about that before. Makes a nice change, then.
methinks me needs some q help
Keep thinking in terms of five, hurshy. Lots start that way.
ok
And don't be afraid to vary your malaria medicine.
brilliant haz, only one q left now!
d
thanx again BR, got it
mind you, there was a scary dinosaur we had to climb down to get to the beach ....
That's great, hurshy!
lol
A dinosaur to climb down? At least he let you.
he was stone. granite actually. but still very pointy
A hazard, though. I'd have stayed at the top and whimpered.
maybe the white witch had frozen him
I nearly did, but there was some Mystery on the beach that needed solving
ti6/21, pls? have the kindling
Well then, duty required you to get there.
Morning everybody. Stayed up too late doing this - feeling fried this morning. :) Clue pls for ac8?
ti6 - American can, then the beginning of the downy duck
ti 6 -- prong and freud term
ac8 - add the portentous date in March to the end of the ac5/12
The date being singular, in this case.
YAY!!! thanx BR!!! FIREWORKS!!!!
Congratulations rmc!
Congrats, rmcc
Congrats Rose !
yah rms
RMC even
Got it, ty haz. Congrats rmcc - nice work!

Watch out for the roos in disguise.
have a great day Rose - hope the weather holds out
and the dingo
oh, and those zillions of venomous snakes you have
lol, yeah well, they had better watch out for me and my suzuki boulevard.
Nice RMC which club?
lynxxx, doesn't matter if it rains, so long as it is on the way home
MRA, herin, motorcycle riders association. more of a lobby group actually, but we do a lot of social stuff too
Ok my friends parents are part of the Ulysses club
you might have seen the toyrun at christmas, or the GP run to phillip island. that's us.
right, they probably know barb maggs, lovely lady and a great friend. MM and i stay on her property in snake gully, just out of ballarat
Yep know that well.
only one more H!
tis an ha, if anyone cares to guess
Have fun RMC
Thats an odd co-incidence..someone was telling me about a ( ex)church in Snake Gully (renovated) and a few acres - for sale cheapish
how many letter Hursh
my grid is slowly but surely going dark.
i dunno lynxxx
ha4.6
i have three of those
ha7/32
ha7/44 (applying a padlock) maybe?
oh pab has nailed it!
1000 points to pab!
hi, i have never seen a letter have 62 words!
thanks pab hi jac
a thousand points, thanks hurshy :)
im of to be night all
Unless the grid was bigger we couldn't have a word longer than 25 letters.
'Hi & 'bye, herin. Sleep well.
sorry guys and gals, my PC just went on the fritz. had to reboot in order to say goodbye properly.
she didn't say 62 letters, jac, she said a letter have 62 words :)
ok i cannot figure this ha7/32, is it very weird?
yeah, i meant the s has 62 words!
ha7/31 - in more of a rush/hurry
No, it's a comparative.
oops, 7/32!
more so of the ha4/5
*bops on head with fish* thanks
however did you guess that i was missing that one pab?
Oh, right. Sorry, I', a bit distracted. Only he4 on a cappuccino break between outside tasks.
nitey nite all, thanx for the help along the way, see you after the flip.
'Night, rmcc. Dormez bien.
Good night rmc - enjoy your day tomorrow.
nite Rose - sweet dreams
no prob hursh, just happy to be of some help :)
just luck hurshy
oh, you shouldn't say that, you should come up with some outlandish reason so we all think you're brilliant
when are you going to put marty back up? he's much more decorative than that man!
marty is up at sudoku all the time
and james roday is VERY decorative and yummy
okay, let me see, considering the clues you had asked for earlier, i deduced the only ha you could be missing was the ha7/32, how's that
miiiitten then
e
But can marty REALLY compete?
marty is the handsomest of all the things in the world
not with the cat of glory, certainly
but i am a sex-deprived woman and i like looking at james roday, so there he stays.
Unless he was the original, the inspiration, the muse.
LOL, hursh.
hursh - this is about the only net site where you could say that and not receive a load of suggestive e-mails after.
You haven't seen her e-mail inbox though.
lol, i suppose so - i am not on a lot of net sites. lucky we have so few men
True, Haz.
she might be saying that deliberately to garner interest!
She might indeed, Ata.
Then we'll have to keep an eye on her.
dont we always?
i'm saying it cause it's so. but, if any of the few men who babble do happen to look like james roday, they should speak up.
The problem is the time zone. We have to sleep sometime.
where'storgone when you need him?
*Waits for all the men to appear...*
I haven't a clue as to who James Roday is to start
but one never knows who's lurking, haz, as you found out with fmitch last night
<--- james roday
fm? lurking? never!
That's true. Caught about caught out....
and I caught her out, too!:)
The shame of it all.
Incidentally, Haz... have you checked your napper for foreign objects today? *grins*
y'all are so hard on haz. whereas, i was as gentle as could be.
what happened?
i used the word "quandary" and haz thought i had spelt it wrong
I bear up bravely. No sunglasses atop the head.
she asked if it was a US spelling
Oh yes... kwondree.
and i very nicely said, why, how do you spell it?
isn't it quandry?
That's what I thought, Esprit. It's quandary. Like boundary.
Yup, it has 2 a's.
just outrageous, haz
I'll be dipped, you're right
I know. I was ra9/72 blushes.
oh dear, we are too funny
Thanks for that 9, Haz.
I bet! next you'll think that adding an e to a 4 letter word gives a 10 letter word!
You're welcome, Jacula.
lol
I thought the discovery of the sunglasses was the funniest.:D
Ah, but she understood once I explained nicely.
Maybe I'm turning into Posh Spice - sunglasses ready at all times?
that would be sunglasses *on*. even at night
is she the one with david beckham?
Nah, Haz, you just forgot they were there. *grins* It's her age, you know.
thats the one
Hursh - yes.
That's the one, hurshy.
she's pretty
she's hideous
It's my age - it has to be that because I can't blame Fmitch.
pretty awful, hursh! She was okay before she became a plastic stick.
good morning all, am just going to dive into this grid - will have to head back to bed soon
Haz - don't worry. You're in good company.
yes, she used to be pretty
Hi, flosey. Good luck.
In the blue corner, we have Atalante. In the red corner, we have hurshy. A clean fight ladies.
i dunno, i only saw her when ali g interviewed her. she seemed pretty and she laughed a lot
well who wouldn't laugh a lot, he's a riot
oh ali g. she probably laughed cos she didnt understand him
I look at Posh Spice and I look at someone like Judi Dench - so much older but more beautiful, to my mind.
Right. 89 words are hiding from me and it's time I got back to the gr5/16. BBL.
curses on s's!
Or Phyllida Law, Haz.
TTFN
I agree. Or Emma Thompson.
h
or fred dalton thompson
Yes! She has such character and beauty in her face. She's Emma Thompson's mother so it bodes well for her.
its probably different over here, hurshy. you're not all fed up with her. we get her on the front page every time she takes a cr*p
ohhh, she's your paris hilton
Really? Judi Dench is Emma Thompson's mother?? I never knew that
dont even go there hurshy
yup, very similar. and equally annoying
No, Phyllida Law is Emma Thompson's mother.
i dunno, i don't think anyone could be as annoying as paris
just you wait .....!
No, chiley, Phyllida Law is Emma T's mum. Judi Dench is Finty Williams' mum.
Oh...I misunderstood
Really going now. *poof*
she never says anything but "that's hot". and she wanted to trademark the phrase!
Bye Jacula!
Victoria just pouts and wants worldwide fame for it
Now, now, Atalante. Don't forget her singing career.
oh! how could I forget!
And she's a great fashion icon now.
Anyone offering up clues to the sc8's, pretty pls?
and her books. such a great author
And she writes books to tell us how to dress.
'Girls, get yourself down to Versace, quick smart'
'Here's a great plastic surgeon you MUST try'
heres a great diet! dont eat for a year!
less covered with clothing
hi everyone!
tina
i think paris did trademark "that's hot" even sued some company for using it
hi carra
'When you get tired of those shoes, buy another pair. Who wants to wearthe same pair of shoes for more than 2 hours?'
hi nono
'but actually I eat fish and chips every day! I'm just so lucky to have a great body'
she tried to trademark it, but I don't think successfully
i don't pay much attention to paris or i would join the quote competition
i'm SURE she's worse.
This is Victoria talking, hurshy.
thx esprit - got that one without too much squinting and whining :)
i know
and i want to demonstrate how paris is wrse
:-)
paris is a waste of oxygen
they are both horrendous
. "That's Hot!" (Paris Hilton) - Hilton owns the trademark to the phrase "That's hot," which was registered on Feb. 13th.
So, waitresses, presenting a hot curry will have to find something else to say?
maybe "that's hot" is different. just de-emphasise the h
'This is ra9/72 he4/5. Please take care.'
i say "heavens to betsy!" a lot, maybe i should trademark it.
betsy's probably already trademarked it
i just don't understand how someone could give her a trademark for a phrase that other people have used before. it maketh no sense.
I bet Betsy got there first.
ha ha haz, I did send you the explosive dogs sign didn't I?
lookit the great minds thinking alike
ac 8 please
You did, Atalante. And yes, our minds must run on similar lines most of the time.
ac8/50 - if you have ac5/12 - add the singular date in March that Caesar was to beware of.
gah! how can i not find any more s's when i have 11 left! i am a dolt! (TM)
how any words today?
oh thank you Haz
<gasp> 368
I hear you. I feel completely lost today on this! 4 ltr words are eluding me (eyes rolling at myself)
that ac8 was my first word today :)
thanks haz
ack
figures.
You're welcome.
and I've put the explosive dog sign in my pic for everyone's amusement
you can say that again
Just to confirm that our minds do think differently, ac8 was NOT my first word today.
cant concentrate with all this banging..... since 730am... its 11 now lol
they are putting new siding on the house
wow, carra. tantric banging?
Eek, carra - how can you stand it?
Ear plugs are great things.
no idea.. but its started to bother me a bit now.. i might go for a walk or something
this GRID started to bother me
starting
lol
Agreed haz - gotta nice pair of them myself (husband snores like an outboard motor)
I hear you....
oooh continuing snoring saga - husband has now been referred for sleep studies. he now thinks its important to sort out as I persuaded him he might have sleep apnoea
He may end up with one of those machines, in that case.
Oh, I hope they find some way to help him (and you) out, Atalante. Know lots of folks that have benefitted, including the CPAP machine haz mentions
maybe ... we'll see. they have sleep testing machines here that people can bring home and do the studies there, for a few nights. much easier than going to hospital for sleep studies
one more word and i can get the list
though I got very annoyed with the dr when he said that "social snoring" isn't an issue. to me, its certainly an issue, if not a medical one!
what's your criteria for that, hurshy?
d
doctors have this weird thing where they don't seem to think that sleep is very important. i had a hard time getting sympathy for my sleep troubles.
social snoring not an issue?! puh-lease.
they always tell you sleep is important, but never actually help you when you can't sleep
oh, it varies tina, today i want to get to 50 left.
He probably means that it's a problem for you. It'll only be tackled if they think that it's a problem for him in not getting enough sleep.
yeah, I know. it was irritating though, it felt very dismissive!
oh, man. I'm fixin to give up and get the lists now and I've got over a hundred left :)
there tis!
You are mighty
i wouldn't get it now if it weren't that i have to go to my sister's baby shower in not very long.
No, you'd rather torture your brain for hours!
I torture my brain for hours WITH the list.
indeed. i love brainal torture
A spaniel is giving me a look.
A look of doleful sorrow.
Odd Haz - I have a spaniel here who is giving me the "its after 5pm - when
what sort of look? A "you hate me cos you havent walked me for months" look?
is supper
ah. one of *those*
Good morning, a great grid for a Saturday. Need a clue for ca7/36 the first one?
A look that means I'm going to have to take her for a walk.
any clues for the 11?
my spanielhas already chased many pheasants today and is happily snoring on the sofa
How does one dog get so much reproach in one look?
they are masters at it
I'm going to have to leave my 55 words and feed the poor starving pooch - also staring at me from the sofa
so what are we against today?
Okay, I'll have to go. I'll be back later, mind refreshed, hair tossed and dog happy. Bye for now.
lol have a lovely walk!
Hi hurshy - you must have missed the cat in the hat on the mat eating a rat

the 6/24 is what you would be doing if you were one of those pests
the 7 and 8 have to do with old things
6/24 - those points are proving vexatious
ac8 clue
and the simplest is the answer, thanks tina
Perfect ursh, thanks
ruru: thespians at work are *****g, then caesar had reason to fear the ***s of March

Let me have a look.
typus interruptus
help. I finished the grid, yet it says I am missing 53 words. I have refreshed twice and logged off and on once. What else can I do
She's not too bad that way, she's gone out to the garden to hide under bushes.
And I'm saying this from the penalty box. pa5/12 in all their forms have been my undoing today.
try moving words from list to babble or vise-versa inge
awwww! lucky you, hobbit's very bad at physically demanding attention like that. she shoves her head through the crook of my arm and wiggles till i'm completely disrupted
And looks cute doing it.
utterly. thats half the problem!
That's probably why they get away with so much. What am I saying, probably??
i'll probably need a fish but need help with the de5/16 my last word
LOL oh yes. brats.

Marc - re9/18 is when something, perhaps love, is returned. Unre*****d love could make you sad.
YAY Angelsong - good for you
Well done, Angel.

msilver - wi6/36 = how someone with a lisp might talk about literacy - 'weeding & wi****'.:)
ra9 = emitting warmth.
aagh, I thought I'd tried everything!
ty, jacula.
y/w, Tina.
de 8/55 clue
ty sooo much jacula
and msilver.:)
nm
de8/55 = taking 'brownie' points off, maybe? Lowering in the ranks?
thanks I found it just after I asked
Or, possibly getting rid of rodents.
Okay.
I do need one of the de 5/12's though i have the car de**
de***
de5/12 - get rid of a rodent.
OMG

thanks a lot

hi babblers
hello dorens.
hey, just curious - does anyone have issues with the word list script? It almost always encounters problems when I open or refresh this site and I have to stop it
hi all! hi doren!
da 7/44 anyone?
and hi jacs
no, not here tina... i used firefox, which is your browser?
hey owl.. nice rainy day here, not feeling guilty about staying in and doing 368 words today
I got all of the qu's now and I tried all four qu7 with and re before it and not worked or the re9, please help>
add an ing marc
well i wandered into khl;s and nearly bought a ring....i have only 4 min or so to go back if i want it. i stayed up wsy too late dong grid past night
mark. you know about unre****** love, where you love and they don't love back? well. try it with a gerund ending
owl, do you want it?
Hmm, I use firefox too; maybe a conflict with security on this computer.
er 10 please
mgz, you have the ra9? add an e to the beginning
errend
don't have the ra 9 but would love a clue
ruru, that's a weird word - a task that's intimidating is da******, then you have to remove the second consanant
heat or light going out
Thanks all finally got it and now I feel so dumb.
ra9 - the bride was ra9 happiness
don't feel dumb, marc.. we've all missed words and not gotten clues sometime
and those of us who haven't haven't been playing long enough
or are insanely brilliant and who wants to be like that??
Okay, racked my poor pea brain over the first di - clue me in, pls?
the first one is what plants do when they are very very sick (spelled weirdly)
i wasbooted! i think so, enough to open a charge to get an extra $40 off
thanks, got those now
brilliant here, and it makes no difference - i don't finish grids and don't understand clues :)
(no, the first one that I have, tina... i am not in the list yet)
well then you're no more brilliant than we are, and perhaps a little less??? so not insanely brilliant, the way i mean
th espeicals go off at 1, but they stay in the computer longer
well lthen go for it owl, obviouslly you do want it
di6 - I'm di6 to finally see the end of this grid
LOL let's get this straight: it's KOHL;s and 45 minutes and i don't speak spanish so they are specials not especials
hahahaha
and ri** is in the grid, too oowl
scrumptious, ty flosey
OH IT IS A SIGN!!!!!
yw tina
absolutely
WHAT MORE OF A SIGN COULD A WOMMAN WANT! (if i said what more could a woman want, i'd say bigger diamonds and a blue box D
Trying not to resort to the lists. Must. resist. the. list.
i can send you the blue box, owl, but not the bigger diamonds
tina, how can you not use the list with this many words????
i just can't go to it until i have half the words, and i just started.. have a long way to go
Sigh, I know. I guess I do actually feel pretty good about getting to this point - 82 left!
equ6, please?
horselike
got it thanks
I've got 187 left
How 'bout the eq8?
same first four letters, + the sun ***s your skin + consonant
I've gotten this far without the list, but I'm not sure I have much more in me without.
if that makes any sense!
course it makes sense
actually, i'm right there with you dandylon - made perfect sense to me :)
thinkin on your clue dorens, thx
lol
if it doesn't work, let me know tina
do you speak french tina?
first four horsey letters + aunt in french is ****e
oooh you really have something from a blue box? i'm not that material, really...it's just that i have so much love in my heart and no one to lavish it on at present....and diamonds are foreever
vaguely remember high school French :) I'll think about it for few more minutes then beg for another clue if I can't crack it
Hi all. Made the mistake of starting before looking at the number of words in the grid today. Please tell me it's an easy grid! (only have 359 left to find! :D
hey nef, lots of gerunds
the first 133 were easy enough nef, and i'm not stopping yet
Thanks; that's encouraging --I think!
hate to ask for 5's but I can't find ad5, clue please?
i haven't any a's yet
flosey - plural of the ad4/5
i have a plural
oh my - hangs head !! tried everything but
we have fish for you flosey
with this many words in the grid, there must be a fish word in it, too
one pollock coming up!
smack me with it
flosey it because the 4 goes left and the 5 goes right - i also did not see it
that was embarrassing
thanks for the help though!
yes here is a hint for nef: you will see that often today, the words repeat onthe bottom and can plural there but not on top
(neither did I)
can never be embarrassed on babble
YES ! the hairy dolphin is back. i have missed it
thanks ursh
that's the truth, ursh
it is my only i word, owl
so owl, it's after 1 o'clock.. did you order the ring yet?
I'm out for now..be back later
i have 6...i had drinks and could not sleep when i got home so stayed up
later dandy
went away for a few minutes and when I came back I was able to plug that eq straight in - ty dorens
yw
ok i think i am going to see if the item is still there and on sale - the sun has come out, another sign : )
oh that's good.. no sun here, but if you have it, i probably will in a couple of hours
i think so - see you later!
bye owl
actually i gave a guy my number last night and reret it. may stay loged in for a week or so LOL
i knew there had to be SOMETHING good about dialup
lol owl. (try to remember,, get their numbers, don't give yours)
good point . i dohave his. allegedly. : )
i am closing in on the halfway point. at which i will take a break (and go to the list)
dent
dint
dent
OOps! SORRY!
ah come on, nef... words i DON'T have, please
(I'll behave and go back in my cave for now)
I am so glad I'm not the only person who has done that :)
I'm afraid I do it more often than not if I try to chat AND add words to the grid. <blush>
Either no one is watching today or they are being tolerant of me! :)
tolerant ( :
Thanks, gramma. I've put in 100 words in 1/2 hour (including the ones in chat) so it helps if people are tolerant today. I need all the help I can get some days! :D
back again - we all need to be tolerant today Nef
need to be tolerant - period!
and I'm back with another 5! ar5 please
where sports are played
thanks gramma - seems I'm missing the easier ones!!

Hello my dear friend... how are you today, Flask? *hugs*
(((Scarlet))).......am well...we must talk soon!
Yes, we must... but the business of monster-grids and gridlock of the chatline sometimes gets in the way... Maybe we can find some moments next week... I'm playing now waiting for some old, old friends to arrive... they go back to when beloved was in Princeton Seminary with the man... that's a bit of history!
We're in our sixties now, so it was some time ago...
Give your beloved my love too please......and we'll get together next week...ok?
Enjoy your visitors too!
Wonderful, Flask! Yes! P.S. Are you taking good care of Dario Franchitti for me? LOL'
lol.......mmmm....!

Speaking of yummy chocolate, has anyone tried that Thornton's bar with the fudges squares atop? It's.... mmmmmmmmm... divine.
well thats coz we dont know how to "apek" Temple :)
Liz - no can do; it's a box. :D
~looks around the room in confusion~ or which clue is right?
Knight - that's the abb. for one of five simultaneously born kids plus plant*** - a fruit similar to a banana
sounds fab Jac
no jacs...why don't you mail us poor yankees some? LOL liz you could always speak instead
mel - take the pastry dish and add a three letter ending to it and ignore the definitions!

i watched giada today - she made truffles with balsamic vinegar in them
LOL Temple - am practising my "apeking" right now!!!

Good night liz.
I was off looking for a pic of that chocolate bar.
LOL Jac, I forgive you...so long as you bring two glasses tomorrow! :))

Although, if you carry on with that stamping, the naughty step will be your next destination.
aw good night, liz! se you tomorrow!
Hi, Haz. Where did you spring from?
Really am going this time :) Have fun all *waves*
shame on me Haz will ask Toyah to slap me again
bye *poof*
I bounded in, Jacula, like some old-fashioned heroine.
I'm just looking in to say hello. And have a read back in the chat log archive, of course.
did haz say she has heroin abound?
LOL, Haz. Loins girded, I hope?
I'm sharing the Thornton's choc/fudge bar. It's in my icon.
No, I said I'm a cricket heroine and I hit a boundary.
anyone got the ha5/12 before the word that comes after per**** plz?
pi 7/40 please
I take it the bar is delicious?
Just up after a rough nite. The grid has become the 2nd most vital activity after waking. Are you over pi6/27 Mel? If not, try the medicine that would have cured Camille, without the terminal vowel.
Yum, yes, Haz.
I do love Thorntons - their toffee is great as well, though it has to be rationed for the sake of dentistry bills.
only pi I have left is the 7
sorry, not seeing clearly. It was a qu6/27, not pi. I are not squared yet.
pi7 - some people are ambitious enough to try to make things small enough to fit on top of one of these.
Haz - I had to give up eating toffee years ago for that very reason. I used to love black treacle toffee. I hated 'Bluebird' toffee, even though I don't (or didn't; the factory's closed down now) live far from the factory. Mind you, I am also near to Cadbury's.:))
Thanks for that pi, Haz.
Yes, I can agree with you on the treacle toffee. And you're welcome to the pi7.
did anyone see my request for a clue to the ha5/12 plz?
thank you haz
nut are you writing your script for next time?
Just finished all the QU words who was looking for clues?
ha5/12 - puts a plural ending on the preceding ha4/5
jwr - Hello again. Don't worry about earlier - we all accidentally type words in and, as a newbie, you're just learning the ropes anyway.
script? i don't script really
plural the ha 4/5 Sandie
Is that a subtle hint, TO?
now how could I not see that? TY.
she's scared i'll air her dirty laundry haz.
hi all
ra 6/21 please
OoooH! What dirty laundry is that, then??
haz, i am afraid sublety is lost on our dear media mogul ; )
I missed it too Sandie
Thanks Jac, I think I'd better go back to bed ... if I didn't just see one more . . . just one leeetle one ....
and i did wash today i'll have you know
Greetings, Alien.
i can't say jac, she was drunk, and i promised not to air it...she's scared i might not be a woman of my word.
ooh jwr HOW long have you been playing?
Oh, no... did she cough or sneeze and forget to cross her legs? No. Don't tell me, nut. LOL
93word tonight! good night folks
course, that don't mean i can't make her squirm...
i think i'm switching over to sudoku
Back from the phone. Subtlety no use, TO?
Goodnight, bill.
Hi, all
G'night, bill
LOL, TO. ((hugs))
hey there majellen
haz: what do you THINK?
hi jell
Hello, Jellen.
Hello Jell, how are you today?
Let's see, Temp -- Started five or six days ago and anything else is a blur ...
Should that be a question put to Dr Nut? Should babblecast be scripted?
nini Bill =)
RA 6/21 please
i accept all questions
bye bill
Tee, hee - another one bites the dust... oops, Babble's done it again.
Should be reading for class tomorrow, but here I am. ;-)
lol Jwr a true babble addict
i think i will go now to pray for jwr's soul...
lmao TO
also lmao, TO
this is cute - - - http://tinyurl.com/4afuw
arggh just made it to the RE words, shall I pour myself a drink now?
It's strange how babble affects some people and not others. Dr Nut - could some people have been vaccinated against it? How did we miss out on the vaccination programme?
Good id4, Mel.
at least dr. god could put up a banner - abondon all hope ye who enter he5/5
gawd, now you'll want me to sign over all my worldly goods and tell me when I can go potty. What am I talking about -- I'm already going potty(:
TO!
It depends on the drink, mel.
Finonn played her last night, but I already had plans. =(
SHOES!
duly noted for the next cast haz
Aha, am I right in deducing that jwr is English?
i am going to see chris smither - i think.
I am thinking a good shot of Scotch is what this grid needs!
Haz - perhaps your hubby could set up a clinic for we not quite humans (Babbleonians) and vaccinate us?
never mind the grid, hand over that fifth
I look forward to hearing your (un)scripted answer, Dr Nut.
rofl TO
Haz - with words like gawd and going potty, I'd say it's a safe bet jwr is English.
Jacula - have you SEEN the size of the needles he works with?
we had a concert festival thing a couple of weekends ago.. got me pretty concerted-out. over 130 bands!
ooops still need the RA 6/21 please, I get a reprieve before the dreaded RE words
I thought so - the potty clinched it for me. And dear knows what you'll come back with now.....
cool! imagine 10 days of that!
ra6/21 - not quite shining as brightly as ra7/32
is that what the festival you're planning is?
yep
Haz - he must have some teensy weensy needles for hamster etc. It can't be all horse syringes, surely?
wow. sooooo much
phantom - panties
Well, you're probably right, Jacula, though he injects more heifers than hamsters.
are you saying you are not using underwear? and it's not really a phantom dear
EEK! Just realised Haz asked me if I've seen the size of her hubby's needle. *Off to get a coffee!*
thank you Haz
ROFLMAO
Just sp4 my wi4 out reading Haz's last post before mine in conjunction with my last one.
he he he, my work here is done
bowling tonight?
ok, up to 200. I'm out for now. sorry to drop in and run!
later shoes
Bye, redshoes
You... evil Babbler, you... nut! *grins*
stuck on 2 in words - in5/12 and 2nd to last in4/4 - any help plaz?
off to bowling, yes, then a BIG party
Nut.....evil..... can this be true?
occasion?
ok, i'm ready to finish my p's and s's!
What's the party in aid of, Nut?
in5/12 - describing a type of music, structured the same as the home of Madras and Calcutta.
Haz - Oh, yes. It can be true.
yoou willl ahve to mind yourQ's also today, hursh
in aid of fun jac
Not your p's and q's then, Hursh?:)
i already minded them (with haz's help)
Ty for that Haz.
in4/4 - add two more vowels for a dolphin babblet (I think)
in 5/12 alt spelling of the car race in*** 500
So, nut. You'll be wrecked tomorrow, I guess?
Yes, I redeemed myself today by inspring hurshy with q.
inspiring... not like my spelling.
When you get home from that party, nut... record yourself saying that list of words I sent you. *grins*
any ideas for that 2nd to last in4/4?
re 5/14 please the first one
ooh is there going to be a podcast with nut reading babblets? that should be amusing.
Okay, keep having to step away to handle child-related craziness. :) But I see now that I have only 20 lefts!
Haz - I prefer an inspring to and outspring in my mattress any day!
Oh ty - finished the i words now.
Gotcha Jac! An unregenerate anglophile perhaps. Fell in love with the words -- still the world's greatest children's books -- and the daring concepts of alternate spellings and men riding around in trucks (excuse me, lorries) looking for telly-tax-avoiding antennae. Never got to GB; didn't want to spoil the Dream.
IN+3rd vowel +1st vowel
There should be room made in gymnastics for the inspring and outspring discipline, I think you're right, Jacula.
Ah! So jwr is NOT English but an Anglophile. Bet you read Enid Blyton?
I still have in7,32 - clue available for the second one of those (I could swear I asked about this one hours ago)
Now diving into grid to seek last 56 words. S-P-L-A-S-H-!
But if you read Enid Blyton, where are all your exclamation marks? She loved them!
that which cannot be redacted, in latin?
pi7 please?
Finally got past the half way point........186 words down, 182 left... quite a long one today....
that is, Is there a clue available for in7,32 #2?
Oh!! She did, Haz!!! Spiffing!!!!
in7/32 - the second one is - in, four letters for what a man does to make a newspaper fit for reading, wrap it up with a vowel.
pi7 - a compound word, so small that some people try to make things to put on top.
pi7 - top of a dressmaking tool.
pi 7: compound word: attach + above your neck
lol, now i feel like a pi7
I knew I was leaving childhood behind when I started to be critical of Enid's exclamations.
ok i am fading later all
pillock's not in the grid, Hursh. LOL
RE 5/14 please the first one
ty haz - I'm thinkin
I love it when I come in and there is a clue waiting right there that I need, so now I don't have to ask for it!
Haz - ditto. But I still like Castle of Adventure.
re5/14 - put candle in the wax one more time.
what is a pillock?
Shall I answer Hursh or will you, Haz?
oops I need the next re 5/14 please
You go, Jacula.
person who is not very bright is a pillock
Clue for the first ca7/36, anyone?
re5/14 - sounding like precipitation, describes a monarch's function.
well then that's just the same as the pi7 that IS in the grid. i can be either.
ca7/36 something kitty plays with
plural
ca7/36 - a tin in England, finish with what's put in a fender after a crash.
got it, thx haz
You're welcome, Tina.
thank you Haz
uhoh gotta hurry
You're welcome.
sa 6/24 after what the choir did pleases?
Thanks, Jean. I'd just gone off to refill my glass and Paul's.
Thanks, Haz
Become more mentally competent, hurshy
(That was re the pillock answer, btw, Jean.)
No torture would make me confess to Blyton, tho a handful of grid clues perhaps... What I will admit to is -- way way back -- three years working in interior villages of what was then called Mysore; only other English speakers were ozzie missionaries who had been isolated there 4 3 generations & spoke only strine-biblical. Bye, luvs. Back in a couple of hours. Gotta go plant a window box.
haz, a nickname for your doggie is in here
re 9/84 please
With a gerund ending - I should have said. It wasn't meaning you're crazy, hurshy!
i'm trying i'm trying
ta 6/27?
LOL - jwr's off to the dunny really. *grins*
LOl Jac, Bye Jwr have a nice evning/day
and how about that last sa7?
ta7/36 - with a greater taste, heading towards a place in Africa.
Bye, jwr
Okay. Enough hilarity. It's time I found some words...
re 9- related to unre****** (not returned) love
sa7/32 - think of the latin term for man - homo ******. Use a different consonant on the ending.
thank you and then is the first sc8 a compound?
thank you Grant
nope
clue please then?
sc8 - only in the sense that there are two different words. It's what might happen when the man looks at his damaged fender.
ty
Get off me, you guys. I have to grid just one more and go. Really. (uh, dunny?)
sh6 and 7/36?
Nice clue, Haz. Thanks! And I was even looking for s words. I'm in the h's.
sh6 - a variant spelling of a type of thrown together, roughlybuilt town.
Sha 6 sounds like tarpaper house
and i was WANTING that so bad! thanks haz
jwr - if you were with Aussies you should know what the dunny is.
sh7/36 - puts a consonant on the end of the sh6. One that begins my name.
sh6/21? Peace in India, Brother
You're welcome, Jacula!
sa 6/24 please
sa6/24 - use the mental competency beginning and the gerund ending.
tyvm, i am done now and i can go play nertz!
thank you Haz
Thanks also for that s6, Haz.
Play happily, hurshy.
goodmorning
You're welcome!
Well done, hursh. See you next grid.
lynxxx - good morning to you.
I thought tinear was a word ? --- know lots of people that have them!
sa 7/32 please
LOL, cyber
It was also my misfortune to have to teach music to many of them.
LOL Nan!
sa7 grittier
yay Hurshy grats!!!
sa7/32 - clued at 4.04, meliae.
You just gave me ti5/10 I'd missed, cyber, so thanks for that.
congrats hurshy
oops need the nest sa 7/32 please
ah the babblet, jacula!
See haz @ 4:09
clue for ti 6/21 following pronged?
Clued at 4.04, meliae - the second sa7.
oh no.. 214 words left, I think I'm going to have to go to the list. :(
cybernan - make the ending like the beginning of the downy duck by introducing another vowel to the ti5/12
ty haz
Guessed dunny -- the Aussies (is that more acceptable than Ozzies?) were, unhistorically speaking, highly puritanical, sci fi-ishly world-forgeting by the world forgot; wouldn't have used ANY euphemism for bodily functions. I'm so gone. Right NOW !!!!! (soBlightonly there!)
You're welcome.
Bye jwr!
hello T&T ! how are you? not long to go now
sa 5/14 please
a little over 2 weeks before the due date
LOL. Night, jwr. Wherever you are.
Hi, t&t.
HI all
I'm doing much better now. I had a rough week of being sick and extremely tired. Finally came to the decision to start my maternity leave
hi Jellen
can't see either he6/21
exciting - any news about your soldier?
ac 8 please?
Hi, peri
sa5/14 - three letters for plant juice, then two letters indicating what your passport gives.
add the past tense ending, but reverse the two letters, to the the ac5
thank you Jell
TO - ac8 - if you have ac5, add the singular form of the date in March that Caesar was to be wary of.
oops Haz
wow, don't listen to my clue. that was so bad.
ty, going for a nap now. ta
sa 6/24 please the last one
he6/21 - use the he4/5 preceding them and add short letters - beloved of lawyers in documents.
bye TOwl
Bye, TO
ac8, TO, begins with the thespian thing then add a personal pronoun, then add a consonant and then a singular of what you have to beware of in March (if you're Caesar).
sa6/24 - gerund ending to the mentally competent beginning
See you later, TO.
'Bye, TO. Re4 back on the log for your clues.
Peri add 2 different common prepositions the he 4 befre them
thanks Haz, was looking in the wrong direction
thanks mel, got them
You're welcome, peri.
I need the last one I have that one Haz
hi & bye peri
ok, made it throught the list-- now back to the top!
sa6/24 - satisfying a need
last sa 6 is gerund of the last sa group
doh thank you
er 10?
Haz - where's you hubby right now? Mine is sitting in the kitchen snacking and watching TV, since his daughter is in sitting room watching big TV. My daughter and her b/f have just arrived home from their party by the sound of it outside.
My hubby is currently visiting a sick calf.
cybernan - er10 is the same as re11 - just take off the first letter.
It's been a busy evening for him but hopefully no calls through the night.
ty haz
You're welcome.
Clue for re11, please?
re11 - dispensing shining light and heat again
er 7?
First re9 pls
er7 - er plus a river in Germany.
anyone got a clue for the pa6/24 and pa7/36 plz?
could do with him here Haz...we thought our dog was having another mini hypo. seizure but as it has gone on for 12 hours I think it may be the last day for him - just waiting for the local animal clinic to open (at least he seems to be sleeping) poor baby
sp 6/24 please
ty haz
Oh, I'm sorry, lynxxx. I know you've been having problems but thought things had got better.
sorry to hear that lynxxx
pa6/24 - cross the China black and white bear with someone who holds up trains.
I'm so sorry, lynxxx
Or, Mr Nehru's first name.
these clues are awfully esoteric
pa 6/24: asian bear - last letter + non-gender pronoun
mel, one 6/24 is an arachnid and the other is the past tense of what is made of vertebrae (uh, if it was actually a verb :?)
sp6/24 - can describe a insect or a back.
oh lynnx ((HUGS))
na7 please
TY everyone

ta 7/28 please
sc 8? -- don't have either
sandie that one is whatcha wear when you dont' want to wear a dress
It's the plural of what you do when you hurry. Or what you may well wear on your nether regions
sc 8/50 or 8/55?
different endings to the sc 5/12 nan
pa7,40 pls?
there are two tina -- gluing or breathing heavily
sc8 - add the result of an auto bump to searching investigative look. (sc8/50).
I can't believe I didn't get that! I get the hard ones but miss the easy ones!
okay gotta go to bed. night all.... one of these days I'll get around to finishing a grid again
both of the PA 7/40's have the same ending, and are from the root 4 word before them
ty haz
sc8/55 uses the gerund ending for the limited sc5/12
G'night, t&t. Sleep well.
nini Tad rest well, wont be too much longer and that baby will be here!
got them thanks, meliae and haz
goodnite T&T

The grid will still be here - bye Jellen.
race ya dorens!
ti 6/21 please
sure thing (but i'm feeling real slow right now tina)
bye Jellen see you later =)
ti6/21 - used for lighting a fire, or ti6/21 - place an extra vowel in the fork prong descriptive ti5/12
good, me too :)
I'd love to stay and finish but have to get up early to take my son back to university. giving up at 60 to go. At least I got all the 9,10 and 11 words and all the qu words before I finished. Byeee babblers. Happy babbling.
thank you Haz
Bye Sandie - sleep well.
a flurry of words here... two more
bye sandie!
and done... bye sandie
Congratulations Dorens!
does anyone know how to get hold of babbler? -- tried the address posted in her bio, but it didn't work.
Congrats Dorens
I'm back. Son arrived home, too.
ti 5/10 please
I don't know, cybernan, sorry.
Welcome back, Jacula - a ful house?
n its
ty (typing with sore wrists now)
Yes, Haz. We're all he4.
ti5/10 adds a vowel to the end of the fork prong
Sorry, Nan. No.
How's your daughter getting on at university, Jacula? Whereabouts is she?
hi jac
oops sorry I need the last TI 5/10
Haz - She seems to be getting on fine so far.... except for the pincipal's weird hate of cars. She's a Gloucester Uni in Cheltenham.
ti5/10 - add sunburn to get a giant
ti = sun dos this to you
Principal won't let students have cars there, on or off site.
Apparently, she (principal) sends people out to check for unauthorised vehicles and then disciplines students who transgress.
That's good - first year can be a bit of a learning curve..... I'm surprised the principal can have so much personal authority. They wouldn't have stood for it in the 60's.
an 5/10 and 7/36, the first 2 please
Fireworks going off outside. Wonder who's birthday it is?
ander
hmm not getting the clue =(
a + not far = a5
and an7 is more mad
congrats dorens - I'm stuck
want a clue tina?
Jacula - the fireworks have obviously affected your grammar! You've been frightened in to bestowal of redundant apostrophes and all sorts!!
Haz - she's in a student flat with 4 others... 3 girls and one poor, unfortunate lad. (Well, he will be when all the girls synchronise their monthlies and are PMTish all at once).
Clue pls for re9/72
EEK! Whose, I meant. LOL
Did she know any of the others to begin with? Similar thing happened with daughter number 2 - living with strangers was 'challenging'.
tina re + qu4 + gerund ending
thanks so much
re 9: warming again
no. sorry, you have that one tina. add gerund to your re6/21
I actually don't have re6,21 (4 of my remaining are re
on my way -- back at the flip, and if it's a large grid, I'll see you tomorrow :)
No - she doesn't know any of them, Haz.
what i need to do to my cold coffee
bye nan
btw if babbler appears, I wanted to suggest Harvest Moon as the theme for Sept. 26
au 6/30 and 8/60 please
It can be kind of hit and miss. She's living still with two of the original girls, others have fallen by the wayside as relationships have developed over time.
au6/30 -combine a German car with the gerund ending
au8/60 is the act of doing an au5/14 (check)
all au's have the same third letter... the 6/30 ends in gerund
the au8 is plural of au7
to go over someones finances
wi 6/30 please
more like the grapy liquor mel
Haz - she's hit it off with 2 of the girls and the lad, but is still dubious about 'the blonde, chavvy one' and 'the other blonde who could go chavvty or might not'.
thnaks you
wi5/18 please?
canier
Well, at least she's got some allies then. It would be awful if they were stuck with each other with no common ground.
sorry
wi + sun-kissed look.
thanks Jacula
wi 6/30 please
I think she'll be okay, Haz. Unless she gets chucked out for daring to have a car.
And how are you coping without her?
She's a year older than the rest of them, being 20 and a half.

ha 7/40 anybody
Me - Well, I admit I wept buckets in an empty house after my son and ex-bro-in-law and her b'f drove her off lastSunday. A van for son and ex-bro and her and b'f in the mini (ppacked to the gills). So far though, she's kept in touch and been home often (it's only a 35-40 min drive). I realise, however, that's it's probably the b'f (who's at Uni in Birmingham) who's keeping her coming home.
which one ruru?
Oops, wrote thank you and forgot to hit enter! I've got 2 left now.
the first one
they both end with a common 3 letter ending of a 4 letter word before them
that's ok... i'm just staying on till you finish... more clues?
Ah well, she's close enough to home for you to see her fairly often. My worst time was driving away from Edinburgh - both of us in tears but knowing it had to be done.
got it
ty
could I please get a clue for the wi 6/30?
haz and jac, for what it's worth,.. even tho my boys are around 30, I still cry when they leave
Haz - had a bit of a revelation with my own Mum this last week when I told her how I felt about Mel leaving home for uni. 'Yes,' she told me. 'I felt like that when you got married. Why do you think I almost drove you made with phonecalls?'
Ah! The cruelty of youth!

ata, if you have the sh 6,21 just add a consonant to the end

Ata add a consonant to the end of the sh6 above it
in7/32 the second one
ty thought I'd tried all the consonants!

only this annoying p7 to go then ... *glares at it*

Back now, just been priming stepdaughte to listen for garden noises in night, since she, like my son sleeps at back of the house. Why? Someone or something, and we don't think our surviving delinquent cat could have achieved the feat, managed to uproot water hoses and most of the parts of our waterfall in the garden last night.
oh Jacula, that is terrible
I hope you catch who or whatever is doing that jac
Pots were knocked over, too, and one plant flattened.
do u have woodchucks there
they have been know to pick large heavy pieces
oh Jacula, how awful,
dox- we've been thinking about getting s security cam for front garden for some time now... but I always said one trained on the back garden would be more interesting re wildlife visitors.
angelina are u still here
racoons?
yes
hows it going
i cant read the clues, lol
at 285
I know we get foxes in the garden. Ther are badgers around, but a badger woud hhave dug the whole thing up. It's a person or a fox, we reckon.
such a cluts
I still don't get the in 7/32 clue the second one
did you click on lickety at the bottom?
No raccoons in UK, jes.
Hi again. Taking a reading break.
I must be dense today sorry
clutz,,,
seriously? how sad for you, jac!
hi jellen
'coons are neat
Could I have a clue for ra 9/72?
in + 2nd vowel + 4th letter + third vowel + cross letter +1st vowel
Raccoons are as pesilent as squirrels, jes.
ruru, did you see it clued back a bit? in + you **** a manuscript, + first vowel
yes, but more handsome
I don't get the **** can't match it to anything
sorry flosey I am slow today I think
I'd query that remark, jess, re squirrels an raccoons.
A red squirrel, which, sadly, we no longer see he4 (only up in Scotland and a few other places) is a handsome fella. The grey is just a thug.
Ruru, someone prepares a magazine is an ****or
red squirrels are lovely
never saw as red squirrel
ok that helps I got it thank you very much
Yes, Ata. Not at all like those grey invaders.
squirrels are cute, not handsome.
9 left all RE words
chipmunks are adorable :)
Oh heck, peri!
jac, can reds and greys interbreed? do you know?
Chippmunks stink when kept in capitivity.
wonder if we have them in the US
go peri.
Not as much as ferrets stink, but they do stink.
and squirrels bite like crazy. but i don't keep either as pets, i just watch them outside.
Ata - Yes, I know. That's why some of the greys are ginger.
saw one the other day - perfect grey, but with a white underneath. think that must have been a hybrid
25 to go, taking another break
Ata - yes... I meant. Occasionally (Barry White music he4) a man squirrel meets up with a lady squirrel... one is grey. One is red. But that doesn't matter. Love is all around! They get lost in love... LOL And then the ginger thugs emerge.
hurry back Flosey
this grid is wearing on me. I just got back from caring for my neighbors 5 month old baby
awwww the romance!
Yes, lol, Ata. Glad you got it.
this hybrid one was v strange though. not ginger at all. just grey, but with white underneath parts
That's what family therapy was designed for, Ata. The unfortunate consequences of the meetings of the greys and the reds. LOL
re: squirrles; we have some black squirrels here and a couple of albinos. I've never seen black squirres before; has anyone else?
Ata - could wel be an interbreeding.
france has dark brown ones
yes, the farther north you go, the more common they get, nef. quite a few in canada
Nef - I haven't, not he4 in UK, no. Mind you, we do have wild rabbits he4 that are black.
help with both re9 please
re9 - re heat + ending
Yes I have seen black squirrels
really? I grew up just 70 miles south of Canada and never saw a black one on my hometown. Never saw one here in the Twin Cities before either!
thanks doxy
that was IN my hometown. And sorry for using a grid word!
yw. sorry that was so blatent.
hmm. well, they're all over in Nelson and Salmo, at least the few times I've been there... practically trip over them :)
s'okay doxy, sh ould have found it by myself
black squirrels in massachusetts
reheating
reheat
Nef - I think it's the result of black, domestic rabbits being released and raped in the wild. I say that because domestic rabbits, generallly do not survive when released into the wild by fed-up but not very rabbit savvy owners.
that would be it Nef
thanks nef :)
ARRGH! Back to my cave again!!!
re9 - re + stop (q word) + ending
clue for 2nd re9 please
rehint
thanks doxy
rehind
ra9 clue, anyone?
Puts icon chocolate bar into penalty box for Nef.
just found it peri, yw
*Dives back into grid for missing 48 words.*
2nd re6/21 please
go get 'em Jac!
Only me and step-d awake now. Everyone else is p*ssed up and sleeping.
But step's on MSN to her newest b/f (she's only 13, LOL)
re + what you do with your ears
not using a list Peri, possible to re listen
I am keeping tabs on her, btw, and it is a boy she knows from school.
thanks for the chocolate Jac and glad you are keeping tabs on that 13 y/o on the internet
hi all
wow 368
Hi, th
Hi Tim :)
really!
Nef - I'd be most uncomfortable if \I wasn't keeping tabs on her. Thing is, I can do it from my pc, as well as going into room unexpectedly to check.
I hate being a spy but sometimes you just have to.
does she live with yhou jac
gee i am never gonna finish this one
i have a 14 yr old that just went home
Yes Jac, it is for their own safety (and our peace of mind)
Nan - no. She's here every other weekend.
I feel the same way Tim, will be happy to get to the half way mark
Being an outsider sometimes gives you more vision... nuff said.
er10 clue, anybody, please?
do you have ra8 jellen?
ra9?
No, doxy
add an e to the ra9 jell
I meant do you have ra9
at the front
My son (a computer nerd who now earns his living as a QA supervisor for a video gaming company) was about 15 when we got our first computer. I was so worried back then and found it was necessary to keep an eye on kids online
i am just starting:)
Jellen - no er5/10, unlesss I've missed an e.
yes Mom, that was the one I needed
Wait. I have the ra8
can anyone please clue me the last r 5/10
Fireworks for me. The video is amazing! You must see it
ra9 - means to extend or expand like rays
jac does she live with you
ra9 - remove the s from the 8 and add the ending of the day
congrats peri
Nef - my son was same and is now also a paid computer ne4/5.
thanks doxy
see you all tomorrow
Thanks, doxy
Oh, he's WELL_PAID to play computer games all day! :D It'
my granddaughter goes on myspace,,and clicks to fast for anyone to see,,,she says she is just talking to friends,,,
yw. the re11 build off of that also
bye Peri
i am only the grandmother
Thanks, got the re11.
yw jellen
hi again....clue please for the in6/21..7/36 combo please?
Nan - No. As I said, she visits about every other weekend. But, as I warned her Dad would happen, she's not that frquent now... places to go , people to see. I did warn him what having a teenaged daughter would entail.
it's amazing how well paid he is; but the hours can be gruesome with the "christmas rush season" kicks in (it started the end of last month!)
wow,,,early
in + you are ****, we are t****, add past tense
Hi again Flask
Gonna have to hug him a lot over next 2 years of so, I guess. And then more whn she decides Daddy isn't God and he's 'just an embarrassing fool'.
Hi Mom......
does he listen to you,,,every other weekend means she has divorced parents,,,same here
Gawd! Why do we do that to our parents??
Doxy..am not getting it!
anyone please the last re 5/10
in + h4, add 4th letter for 7
nana, if your grand-daughter is clicking fast; maybe it's time to check the history to see where she's been?
its plural for what you pay to landlord!
ruthy, plural
my daughter asked her one day what pos meant
she said parent over shoulder,,,
ty couldnt see it for looking
Nef - most kids know how to clear history far better than we do now!
she belongs to my son,,,so my daughter told him,,,he said he knows what she is doing,,,good luck to him because i dont,,,,i watched my 4 plenty,,,and i am sure they still did little things here and there
LOL! there is a whole bunch of text message "words" kids use. I'll bet there is a site that lists all of them too
ni 5/12 the last one
thanx Doxy..got it!
yw flask
Text speak, which I do understand, mostly now, peess me off big time.
nana; I'd take either the mouse or the keyboard if I was restricting the kids from the 'puter. Recently my son THANKED me for forcing him to learn all sorts of shortcuts!
Just spell the words in the proper fashion! Grumpy old woman has said her bit is will now quietly go away to find missing 48 words from grid.
not my computer,,,its his,,
pls help with DE 5/16
you are not grumpy, Jac :)
sorry Phan, I don't have it
Mom - I hit fifty thisApril past, I MUST be grumpy!vLOL
de5 - de + gerund ending scrambled
Then I will be become grumpy next month
phan, it rhymes with something you steer a horse with but isn't spelt that way
oh my goodness,,,50,,,threw me for a loop,,,wish i was there now, lol
thank you!
Being grumpy comes parcelled in with the 'Hey, you are 50!' birthday presents...
soon it will be "patch, patch, patch" on the ol' body parts. :)
can anyone please clue me the 3rd qu 7/40 plaese
yw phan
found it ty
qu7 - add plural letter to qu6
You open the wrappers (carefully, so as to conserve the paper for future use) and then you find the presents... ''under-eye cream to prevent age-related bagging', 'Welcome to the knickers that support your sagging baby belly. Your 20-year maternity leave is over. Time to shape up, you fat cow!'
jac are you sure it doesn't come with hey you are 40 prents
oh geez, Jac
LOL, LOL.
my last bday i got slippers and a heating pad man i felt old
Mom and tim. I was half serious there.
I can only imagine what my family will come up with.
is it your birthday today, jac?
and everyone wonders why i hate bdays
Sometimes, the presents your kids give you give you 'messages' they may not have intended. You only interpret them that way 'cos.... well....
with 50 (in my family) the women got "little old lady" purses with various other jokes inside. For the 60th we got stranger gifts (butt floss is the nicest I can mention)
an 5/10, the first?
Jes - no. Mine's in April. I'm 50 years and 5 months and 1 day old today, (23rd Sept). LOL
a + not far
it was my hubby who gt me the heating pad:)
ty, ph
Tim - he thought he was being thoughtful, I promise you!
i know
send the heating pad this way,,,i use a bean bag that i put in the microwave for 3 min everynight
lol
lol
i use it from head to toe
but i say its for my knees
ah
i have bean bags too sometimes they are easier
or my back
ang i am serious
even in the middle of summer
Nana, I made some for necks and shoulder and used rice and microwave them
I love my "corn" bag. it's like the bean bags, but filled with feed corn. smells like popcorn
i made one with rice but it smelled
oh so u all know about them, lol
this bean bag smells also
ni 5/12 anyone

I haven't noticed the smelling. **makes note to sniff next time*

Ank -flashes, flushes, whatever. Yes.
:::doesn't believe in taking things like that::::
I'm afraid of how they interact with regular drugs

We don't ned to discuss, black koshosh, red clover, sage, isoflavones etc.
i am useless at taking anything anyhow
hehe seems you've had a bit of advice as well jac
Finally, halfway!!! Need to go get my bath. Good luck to everyone. Hugs to all.
am I ever going to get through these? 54 to go...
aee you mom
clue for the second gi4/6 please?
see even
bye bye Tim
I hope you do Ruru
Bye, Mom
bye bye Jellen
No HRT for me, black ko can cause liver damage, not tried red clover yet, soya isoflavines do cr*p all, and sage oil, so my Mum , who is in her 70s and still having hot flushes and night sweats, tells me 'repeats on you'.
Her friend, who is in her 80s, says same.
However, P's Mum opted for HRT and was symptom-free for the 12 years she took it.Then new, young doctor breezed in, said, 'Youv'e been on that for far too long. No more for you!' And then the same symptoms blazed in. Better to brazen it out and get rid, I think, in the early years.
guess we just live with it
Tim - a flannel rinsed and wr5/22ed out inn cold water and folded to fit your brow is the mst effective thing for night sweats. Combine that with throwing the covers off, lying on your back etc.
If there is a hopeful or predatory male around when yu are in that position... well, say whatever... it'll be an hour till your next hot flush.
lol
ca 7/40, either?
There you go the, tim. Back to my 'h' words...
i found one thing that helps a bit
i shower before bed and wear baby powder
Baby powder doesn't smel sexy though, Tim. But, yes, you're right.
I'll stick with my cold flannel and smelling of woman (like Hilda said to Stan in Coronation Street).
well they have perfumed talc
i have lily of the valley
any help with the last an 4/4 please?

my kitten is destroying a sheet of bubble wrap.
That's what kittens do, jess.
Sound like Fun Jes.. our dog has chewed up a pencil and a flip-flop today
but... bubble wrap? seems like an odd choice for cat toy
na 7 clue pls
pi the second 6/27?
na7= more evil
thnx
ruru- The one I clued was the 2nd one
The first one is dessert +gerund
oops I need the first one then
did you see the babler that is actually a word in the grid tonight
Jess - not realy! Great choice of medium for kits to pounce on and burst.
i just didn't expect her to like the popping... my last kitten would have been terrified of the noises.
did you find it Ruru
then again, he's a nutjob, and she's very bold.
Kitties have star signs, just like homo sapiens does, jess.
i find more corelation between color/breed and personality in cats than i do with birth date, i think.
Some are fiery, some are more cautious and some, if they are Libra, can't make their blinking minds up!
Hi
back for last 25 words - hopefully
Hi Herin
2nd ni 5/12 pls
Hi Flosey
I have 66 left
This is a work thing for me: never give a Libra a choice of drinks as you do the round for the vending machine. Every one else will have chosen coffe with or without, tea - same, hot chocolate, bovril, whatever....
heh. i've still got 138 :*(
found it thank you DR
Hi i have 107 left to find i feel sleep trying to get to 100
ok good ruru.. was just checking
hey! i'm (sort of) a libra, jac. and i know what i like to drink.
ho herin
Hi Tim
I could never se t up home with a Libra - I'd probably be imprinsoned for murder or something within 6 months.
'course, i'm also (sort of) a virgo, which is about as un-libra as it gets...
Jess how old is the kitty?

reboot
thanks for the clue, lb!
k i'll try working on that, thanks lb
michelle, did you try to reboot?
email lickety to ask for the beta version of babble expert. don't know how fast you'd get it, but it'd be a good backup, and a great tool anyway
Yes...that didn't work either
thank you just got it lb
Oh um with the bigger grids it may take its time to load
Thanks...I guess I won't finish because I can't pull up the list...
Click down the bottom on licketys list?
Licketys Babble Clue
That's a thought..thans herin...it just is a blank screen
does brandyjack still do his list over on babanon? you could use that one
Have you got an email i can send you the list
it's not checkbox style, just a straight list, but better than nothing on such a big grid
featherbee i have never joined a book club before what do we do
brandyjack didn't do it today..that is what I have been using since I couldn't pull it up
Brandys list is not up to date
herin...my email...r-m-rutt@juno.com..Thanks! What great friends..
Michelle where do you reside country wise?

us
i've never been in one either tim, much less run the message board for one! lol, i'm looking at resources online about it right now. but anyway, just get the book for october, either from the library or store, read it and discuss! I'm looking up discussion questions right now.
may i have a clue for the 2nd ti 6, 21?
Ok that is odd. Merk had problems when she was in china
Is there a reader's guide online, feather? Usually at the publisher's site.
to tell you the honest truth the book for October wouldn't interest me
was about to check that out next jellen
i read for escape
no prob tim, hop in for november then!
Just sent on email to you Michelle
Thank you! You saved my night!
i would highly recommend middlesex. i just finished it, and was very sad the nearer i got to the end. sad to know i wouldn't be able to read it anymore
Tim, i'm not reading that one either, but you can still join goodreads and share what you've read as well as see what others are reading
k so i will have awhile before i do anything
Glad to help its frustrating as heck when pc webpages misbehave. If you need the list again in the future respond o my email
who decides what book we read and what types of books do they read?
yes, goodreads is a great place to go!
Hi, all
Feather can i make a book suggestion?
Please
Hi Pam
Hi pam
i picked the first book, fran picked the second. we're playing tag for who decides. any type is fine.
sure herin, in fact i'll go start a thread for that
may i have a clue for the 2nd ti 6, 21 please?
Memory Keepers Daughter
What is the October Book? Oh, and Feather, I read Middlesex when it first came out--LOVED it
what genre of book is that hein?
That is an awesome book..I read that this summer!
there is even a website
Hi, LBD and herin, and all

angel, metal + 2nd vowel + smallest freud entity
ok herin, go to the book club board and make your suggestion. just started a thread for that.
thank you lb, thought i tried every combo there except the freud entity, lol
What is the Oct book?
I am glad I got 152 words when I "snuck" on this morning, now all I want to do is chat, LOL
yw angel. it's easy to overlook the smallest entity
back for my last 9 words
any clues for sh6 please?
um k feather
it's "the meaning of everything, a history of hte oxford english dictionary" by simon winchester. it came highly recommended by a babbler (jilli? hetty?) and is supposed to be very readable and entertaining.

hi doxy
whats it under feather
Hi Doxy
thanks lbd
Oh, thanks, feather. Already read it--great book. Well written and a great story.
Hi, tim and doxy
i probably need to join a specific book clue cause alot of pppl don't like to read the stuff i like
What do you like to escape with, tim? reading-wise?
what kind of books do you like tim?
lol i guess the word clue in there is a freudian slip ......don't chat ask for clues
just post what you like on goodreads for us then tim! i've found a bunch of "to-read" books by looking at what others are reading
fantasy mostly
what's waht under? oh, the to read category
Oh ok
sha7/36 please?
ooooh tim, me and dawg too
like tolkin , pratchett, robert jordan
evening all
mccaffery, lackey, anthony, hobb, ......the list goes on

hi moo
how goes the feathering?
thanks doxy, thought I had tried everything!
it's very good. read it years ago.
THAT is a GREAT book, tim. I love Marion Zimmer Bradley
this grid's been a marathon
flighty as always!
hi everyone
I'd never put Jordan in the same sentence as Tolkein
i saw it on the shelf and it entrigued me
hows the babying going?
lol mool
beautiful picture feather
I have read it twice. It captured me.
Never read Robert Jordan...
Feather i just posted
nor pratchett for that matter mool
he just died this week i am mouring the loss
I read a lot of his, but his writing style isn't particularly refined
robert jordan that is
ty flosey!
read a lot of pratchett...not too bad, but no Tolkein for sure :)
he did? oh no, how sad
really?
do you mean pratchet mool
Jordan's writing really bothered me
My b.read Tolkien's The Hobbit at 6 never could get into Pratchet.
If I were a book would someone respond to my hello? :)
felt his character development was pretty ordinary, his story structure was not particularly complex
Feather Robert Jorden DIed on Sat/Sun last week
Hi, saphyre
pratchett can some times be bi-polar in his writting
hey saph :)
hi :)
yeah, if you read Tolkein, it makes the rest hard to read
indeed tim
hi saphyre, nice to read...err...see you!
is it wrong for me to be mad at him for ding before he finished the wheel of time series
http://www.dragonmount.com/RobertJorda n/
I haven't read any fantasy though since I was in my early 20s :)
hi feather how is the baby? and the rest of the family?
mostly read historical novels now
or non-fiction
Tim they are going to finish the series using his notes like they did with Tolkien
need the second st5/14 please?
wow, lots of folks popping in! hi everyone
we're all doing great! daniel's becoming such a "big boy" now, and nick will be 6 weeks tomorrow. grinning like a fiend!
They didn't finish Tolkein's book her..they created a book OF his notes :)
hi lb

Congrats, doxy!!!!

nj dox
WTG Doxy, well done
I have 4 left
yeah doxy
clue on the 11? I have the first 6 letters
Elizabeth George and Robert Goddard give great mysteries--British--, tim. Good escape. Sustaining. I like the last PD James, too.
whoooo hoooo DOXY
Um ta i think i know what i mean but i have trouble with words and thinking today
his latest thing is making sure nick is covered properly with a blanket. earlier today (it was warm here) i didn't have one on him. Daniel felt he needed one, so he put his (Daniel's) lovey on nick's legs. the lovey is a little blanket that daniel sleeps with. think a small version of linus' blanket.
i like being in another realm:)
moo, if you have the ra9, just add re to the front
re11 uses a gerund ending; giving off light and heat
re+ ra9= re11
Oh, how cute, feather!
