I feel that at least with the cat being still a bit dozy its providing me with entertainment
de7 comes off the de6... zombifies
Oh and im $316 in the hole

yay drb
hah, DrB -- dart beat you for a change!!!
congrats, drb!
cats have a very odd way of getting up into high places when not all there
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
funny, lady -- as I said when my girl was a baby and spayed she liked low dark sheltered places
that was weird. coworker got a call, he told caller 'probably becaues it's thanksgiving', then caller apparetly hung up.
i wonder what that was about.
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
hi, minver, welcome back!
howyadoin, min?
ox ic
is that a disease of cattle, nan?
sorry -- good thing it's not a word!
My musician friends let their Burmese wander whither they will -- among pianos, drum sets, bass fiddle, et al. Scared them to pieces one dark night when one of them discovered how to activate the lever on the player piano & the other pranced on the keys.
LOL, jwr
i keep my keyboard covers down just for that reason, just as i keep the piano closed if not actively playing
JWR that is so very typical of a cat
My exes little black girl had a habit of scaring the hell out of us in the dark
no R again, I see
dc - all the other instruments were covered but the player piano had no top -- they were restringing it -- so it was not only vulnerable but exceedingly weird sounding. Thing is, this duet turned out to be their favorite thing which means they have to be shut out of that room during rehearsals!
Kitties love to play too
LOL :)
have to be 17 to see an R, and there are minors about, jilli :D LOL
(i'm in the teehee zone, don't mind me)
giggle, dc
herin - whatchu mean "too" -- aside from sleeping, that's mostly what they do, no?
Were as im pretty sure mine is seeing some funky stuff coming off what they gave her
Yes Play a lot they do but i meant play on the instruments.
what a serious bunch you are
off to bed, goodnight all
back in the morning
g'night flosey, sleep well :)
Night Flosset
jwr, you're being tongue-in-cheek or sardonic, no?
Flossey even
Goodbye flosey! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log!
too tire to finish -- see you tomorrow *poof*
night flosey -- didn't see you arrive -- congrats on Monday night :D
nite flosey and nan
ty, was a close one
I don't necessarily think ... and get in a lot trouble as a result
lady, it's flosey -- only one S
only way to live, babrab!
hi babrab
I have the brain cells to think but i choose not to
hi babrab
hello, peoples
dc, did you get the 3rd co5 yet?
I mean co5/24
Hello BabbleRabble! How are you? Welcome to the grid
hi bab
yes, jilli, last co i found, and it's a word i learned working in groceries.
dc LOLLL -- better leave the chat now -- I'm working on a crisis hotline and it's slow right now but I'd rather not get into a call-n-response thing because I may have to leave at any min
The co 5/24 word is co plus to stir something jillibus.
sleep sweet all. i'm off to pillowland
dc, I thought it referred to funnies, haha
gotcha, jwr. i'm on a helpdesk, but it's very quiet so far tonight, knock wood
nite jes
NIght Jess hugs the pets for me
hm, it could, jilli

Goodbye jesdraggon! I'll see you tomorrow in the log!

Goodbye bananafour! I'll see you tomorrow in the log!

I laugh my butt off. I have been watching the Biggest loser and they have been exercising like stupid and i have lost the same amount of weight as them a week. (about 2 pounds)
laughing a lot is a grat way to take weight off the butt
great
Thanks
Hello rururocks! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
hi minerv.. doing well today with plenty of rest
how are you?
finally found that last infernal c
no offense herin
phantom word: Amino
None taken. I just find it amusing i have been really sensible eating about 30min to 2hours a day exercise and its all good
back againg, hey ruru
I just saw that show for the first time... kind of mean spirited if you ask me
hi dc
holiday nights, dc, always slow. so is the computer here so I can't play with the lists and the font is teeny tiny. ruru: wouldn't mind laughing my butt off but it seems to work the other way ... except maybe when you're laughing you can't eat at the same time!
I am also working out my emotional problems as that is the problem with most people that are on that show.
hmmm
usually that DOES have a lot to do with eating excessively
or not eating enough in many cases too
so are you saying that thin people have better senses of humor??
One of th contestants lost every thing in Katrina i thought that it was stupid to put her under added stress of that show.
JWR i don't know about that :P
actually some of the funniest people I know are heavy
that is true
just (: ruru. Herin --- the contestants are very much on those shows voluntarily. some people want to air their tragedies on tv, the more exposure the better.
Cat can only hiss at me she has had her claws trimmed
does she arch her back when she hisses?
cant
ohhhh/ sorry for her
sn 5
put it up ur nose, ruru
clue, not insult, that
lol
ewwwwwwww
Not really. I have her on one leg at the moment. Had to clean her face with the yuk on her face.
An sn 5/24 is sn + a vowel plus double consonant ruru
I have un 4X6 (2), un 6 (2) us 4, un 5/22 what am I missing
sn -- another way of saying That's All Folks
Oh I had it Minerv. I thought I was being cute in calling it out
un 6/33, un6/24, un6/27
stalled at 10 and pillow awaits me, nite all
oh un 6/27?
pleasant dreams, muse
The un 6/33 word is un plus the sa 4/8 word dcseain.
nite muse
yes, ruru, like a snake not yet molted
or at least its skin
Tehe un 6/24 word is un plus the se 4/5 word dcseain
yeah... u's are done..they usually kill me
thanks
Goodye mymuseisme! I'll see you tomorrow in the log!
cant chat n babble only have one free hand
you are up late tonight minerv
cat on lap needs hugs
Yes, I am up VERY late! I'm showing my sister-in-law how to play the game. I have a head start for today.
hi all!
morning, MVA!
uh oh Minerv.. another future babble-addict on the way?
hi min's sis-in-law!
HIYA sis in law
recruiting! very good, minver, do carry on! and hello to your sis-in-law
Hello MVA! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
WHAT game, Minver? Aren't you getting paid like the rest of us?
hi mins sister in law!
lol
OH god IF I could get paid by the hour for this game.. I would retire already
supervisor on other helpdesk has commented how playing this make me look like i'm working hard.
lol
what a dream, paid to play!!!
well, you ARE wroking hard, dc!
working
heh, good point, jilli :)
maybe wroking too, lol
and i do do my work as it comes in.
sexman should be a word..darn it
lovely, dc. One of mine thought it looked really easy. I know he tried it in private and couldn't catch on. After that, he looked at me with more respect!
or even seximan
or heximan?
that too
and why not maxed?
only one other person here has shown interest after asking about it. Very much not for everyone
I wondered about that ...ma 5/22 yes... maxed no.. maybe too much of a surfer term
guess I shouldn't be a babblesnob. tried the Sudoku and went slowly mad.
Anyone have a clue for the se/6, please? It's my last one and I want to go to bed.
we maxed out the volume, dude
fer sure dc
ocean pale, jan
beautiful clue dc
Thanks, dcseain...! ANyone need anything before I'm out?
i'm good, ty, jan
I have ma5/24...
ty, jwr
yeah, jan, ad5/20?
The ad 5/20 word is a plus the opposite of up jillibus.
a + do 4/9
jilli, a plus not up
we're going ad5/20 stream
odd word!
thanks, dc -- weird words, the ad and the se
indeed so
I dont get the ocean pale clue though dc
ad5.20 is SO ballad chorus, dilly dilly
ocean lukewarm maybe?
Yeah, the se/6 means unstrung wampum. Now to find a way to casually slip that one into conversation!
wha?
Aloha Babblers!
how about body of water and pale
hi fran!
aloha, fran!
hi jilli!
bore da fran!
hi dc!
ok found it weird one
thanks dc
thanks for the clue(s) fran
thanks for the se6
yw jilli!

hi mva!

hi infernal!
Try googling the definition...
hi fran
I cant
hi herin
Oh, sorry....
i eill trye
by the se*side you might ***t to go for a swim
got it
Time for one last load of dishes and then to bed. Night all...
sweet dreams, jan!
night jan
nite jan
night jan!
The net is on slow until we pay bill, boy is on the net too. Cat on lap so very trickey
i just found our "fashionably smart" babble friend
well, over halfway and no blanks, eyes slamming, old cat telling me to go to bed...
yes, she was on earlier, fran :)
what do you mean fran?
good night, jilli, sleep well
if you're going to sleep then sleep well jilli!
ch4 ruru
ahead of me jilli, still have blanks jilli
ch4 isin the grid tonight, ruru
oh ... yeah I read that one earlier... Im sorry
dc is in the grid too
sorta
frustration: letters that link up nicely and then ... the big let-down, like C H I M N E ....
he's kind of all over the place ruru, but he's all there. :-)
looking at the correct E makes finding the en7 easier :D
those are what we call phantoms jwr, very frustrating indeed!
yes it do
ah. so That's what a phantom is. Thanx Fran
thanks dc, that helped me find it!
douane is phantome tonight
yw jwr, our jargon can be confusing to new babblers
just thought of an icon -- back soon...
so. "babblejargon" ... is that the same as jargoonbabble?
now if someone could explain what a babblet is ..
it's a silly word that one doesn't really find in contexte other then babble
good def dc
that covers alot of bases round these parts....
I was guessing that a babblet was a word that didn't appear in (most) dictionaries
that too jwr
OED is your friend in babbleland
LOL
that idea came from hitting on the question mark to the left of the word and having it come up with - - - nothing.
sometimes ADD too
i must say i prefer the 'night' crew to the day one, relative to my time zone.
good point, ruru
do you mean at work on here on the grid
or here
I hope you're not serious dc. Digging into the OED while babbling would be like baling out the rowboat during a heavy storm
words like inia, etna, anoa, iwis, etui, oorie... all babblets
here in the chat
lwei, too
ok, i will ask. what is oed?
Oxford English Dictionary
how could i forget lwei? :-)
The Final Word
thansk
oops, thanks
yeah how about phyllas
don't forget naoi
naos
which turns out to be the plural of naos
olea
actually singular i think dc
really enjoying chat and i've got to go!!!!
good luck all, bbl!
have a great day, MVA
i hate when that happens mva!
have a good day!
i looked them up earlier. naos is Greek for templo, naoi is plural
icon test
okay okay -- so these really ARE words? i.e. ME or Chaucerian or such? ok. Do you just find out after years of babbling or is there actually a list?
unfortunately in all of our heads now
hi joso!
looks good joso
middle English, lots of Scots - haes, haen, haed, gaes, &c
nice icon, joso
mg, what amazing heads you must have!
Feed up kitty says 'Pet me;
Anybody see mine?
hi fran, ruru
you're right dc, i read your post wrong, i was saying the same thing you did. :-)
don't forget tref
the Scots I get -- years of British TV and mystery reading
and nief
comes with much playing, jwr, your head, too will embrace them in time. :)
cool jilli!
neif
tref is Hebrew - means ' not kosher'
very nice joso!
dc, I'm too sleepy to get your pretty clues!
ther you go again dc
tref I grew up with. grandparents kept two sets of dishes
beautiful, jilli, and nice one, joso
that was Hebrew, not Yiddish that time :P
we all get to know obscure 4 and 5 letter words over time jwr, obscure 8, 9, and more letter are tougher
we are really cluing we are chatting about babblets
sure like ellipsis
that was trying earlier with French Fry, ellipsis
nice kid, seems well-mannered, but must be younger than seemed.
Morning fellow babblers, how are we all doing this bright & sunny morn???
hopefully we'll see more of her/him
hi lshult!
cupcake was a little ....
not looking forward to going out into the cold when i get off work, but well otherwise, you ishult?
hi ishult on this dark and sleepy night :)
thanks for your clue lshult!
umm, dc, there is no wo6 in today's puzzle
there is ice cream though
now I'm truly confabulated. tref and ellipsis are in (common) use. never mind, going back to the grid. Delighted to chat with you all awhile.
I'm still seeing the old icon!!!
huh ?
lol, i didn't even notice that joso! i just looked at the label on the soda!
i had to refresh my screen lshult, seeing it now
your profile text dc. you said wo6
I will put up a video soon of one very out of it kitty
corrected, now that i get what u wer saying, joso, ty
had to go out completely from babble for it to change
sorry jwr they seemed like bablets to me
that word gave me fits, ishult
if you mean wa 6 who wa6es in pop, do they want to atract flies
ah, I see now, tnx dc
oh, had the 2nd mo5/22 anyway, lol
oh, that word is Portugues, not English ,that's why not valid.
ellipsis is cerntainly more common than diaresis
hiccup!
tref is not exactly a common word around here
tref is common in my world, but i gather that outside of the DC-Boston Corridor, and Montreal, probably not that common in most other areas, at least in North America
yes, the hiccup was early today
ruru, that was a silly thing for me to say and I apologize. Obviously Babblers come from all Eng-linguistic parts of the globe and generations and experience so we all have different words that fit the Babblet category -- except some of you who seem to be channelling the OED. good on ya.
you from the western great lakes, jwr?
as4 to me is a babblet
jwr, have you met sprite? She's a shiz from the Netherlands and her first language is Dutch of course but she beats us all hollow (except DrB and dart)
whiz, not shiz!!! I wonder what a shiz would be, lol -- doesn't sound nice!
haven't got as4 yet :(
oh it is complicated. born/raised on a little island off the east coast (Manhattan), time in Maine, Vermont, 20 years off and on in Colorado, 3 years India, 7 years Japan, 28 yrs in San Francisco -- I think that about covers it
jilli, don't worry, you'll find a port soon. :-)
wow
i associate that 'good on you' usage w/ western great lakes, which is why i asked.
(that's a clue for as4)
if you can see it jilli
firewords :)
I associate "good on you mate" with Oz ;)
yay dc!!!
wow wtg dc... that was quick....
now what?
I've been "listening" to you all for some time but rarely get involved -- enough to get an idea of your dear personalities. Never had the slightest desire to 'chat' before -- but you (Sprite and all) sucked me in, darn it!
got the as4, thx fran - too sleepy
i obseserved for 18 monhs before i jumped into the chat
yw jilli
not me.. jumped right in
yes, that was quick for me.
it's only 0300
i jumped in the first day i think! couldn't resist
YAY dc!!!
I jumped right in too
2200 here dc
hello everyone
i'm rather shy at first, and observed to get a feel before i started participating.
hi, lynxxx!
you were introduced by a friend though jilli, but i remember you jumped in before hetty introduced you to all of us.
hi lynxxx
hi lynxxx!
the "good on" was indeed Ozzie -- and my best friend is currently rambling in the Dales and feeds me Yorkshire. I guess I sponge. Pick up whatever's going and use it as appropriate.
ah, back after a little nap... how hard is it?
the grid I mean ;)
dc, that's quite shy if it took you 18 months! :-)
hi mr. p
hi mrp! not hard at all (especially not for you)
hi ruru :)
wow DC I didn't realise you had been playing for so long. you predate Fran & me!
this is a happy grid, mrp!
hi fran :)
mrp, you're so naughty. ;-)
only took me 2 hours
yes, hetty is to blame. BTW, she hasn't given up but has been SO busy writing and directing a play which will be performed here Nov 30 and maybe elsewhere later.
Hi MRP
hi dcs :)
hi lynxx :))
we understand jilli, you SPI folks are quite busy bees!
a friend of mine pointed this game out to me at a dinner meeting in 2005. i don't know if he still plays or not - i forget his handle
well, I might finish then
i think i found this through a link at boingboing or some other blog.
Hi mr pres
i have a friend who uses the handle forexample online because his initials are e.g.
someone mentioned it to me after boggle went away .. i actually enjoy this as much as boggle
Good morning one and all...or evening or day! It's another foggy grey morning in central Germany. Hope it's better for the rest of you!
Hope so, mrp -- it's reasonably friendly -- but I'm too sleepy to see so must detach myself from this seductive chat -- zzzzzzzzzzz and good night all
my lickety found it... he was searching for web technologies (ajax) and stumbled across it... he knew it was something I would love, and now we have fireworks and babble expert :))
i like this better than boggle.
hi mary!
nite nite jilli :))
night jilli!
My house is feeling rather empty, we finally had to have our Bob put down this afternoon. A series of seizures even the vet had trouble managing. Poor baby
did you play boggle dc
hi mar :)
cold and windy here in east-central US. Welcome, mary
Hi Marmar
Hi Fran! I like the 2 minute online Boggle for a few minutes then I start to feel dumb.
*hugs lynxxx* so sorry ot hear :(
aww lynxxx! (hug)
oh sorry lynxxx
very briefly ruru, just before it went away.
Oh dear lynxxx -- I know how it feels
My goodness lynxx, sorry.
a lot of babblers play tanglewords and facebook has a version of boggle that i play.
poor bob! I am sorry lynxx... **hugs**
now *poof* for sure
Bye Jilli
running out of steam, getting harder to find words
g'night jilli
suede is bothering me
yes! i kept trying that too, fran
hello Ishult
hi ishult :))
hey lynxxx
Ishult, pardon the ignorance but what's "kibbutz" mean?
mrp
and then i thought, babble is so found of alt spellings, maybe suade will work...but noooo
yeah, i went there too :D
mrp, the movie quiz in facebook says lickety and i are soulmates! isn't that funny?
i wanna go home, i'm so looking fwd to the weekend, even though i need to go home and pack 1st, as the drier wasn't done by time i had to go to work
Never kibbitz in the kibbutz!
Marmar, a kibbutz is a collective. Probably the only true form of working socialism in the world, although I would prefere to be called a collective capitalist (I want a rich life, but am prepared to work for the whole community to acheive it)
he is a hoot with choosing movies! fantastic fran!
lol, jwr
aw 5 clue anyone?
ruru, a + w*** your hands
unless there's another one
aw5 in money
Ah ha, sounds ideal!
thanks fran
yw ruru
10 left
nothing is Ideal, but I enjoy the life and it's a great enviorment to raise kids
i have 32 left, but i always find the weird ones first! :-)
9
go, ruru, go!
still 42 left for me
Everyone def. has to be on the same page for that to work, or? Have you read Atlas Shurgged? Sounds like what they strived for.
your su6 is making me hungry lshult, i might have to go get some chocolate
not heard of it
i've been meaning to read Atlas Shrugged, but haven't gotten a round tuit for it yet
I've heard it's the second most influencial book ever written. I love it. "...who is John Galt?"
6
Ayn Rand - interesting/good philosophies - she was big in the 50s & 60s
DC, I imagine you would LOVE it.
go ruru go!
my attitude toward books is 'anything is better than Dune'. :)
4
good one!
wow, dune is one of my favorites, and I think Ayn Rand is a hack, am I in the right group
lots of people love Dune, i gave up the 4th time i tried to read it.
can I like both and be OK?
funny, I am the same way with Lord of the Rings
no lynxxx, pick a side! :-)
Joso, it takes all kinds to make life interesting. Even kinds like me!
naa, you can't be ok if you like Ayn Rand, lol
aaaaarrrrrggg
yes, lynxxx, you can
i've not tried an Tolkein yet
OK, how do we all feel about A. A. Milne?
I really tried to read Lord of the Rings...I read too fast to get into it if you know what I mean . Love the movies though!
i read some milne when i was young, and liked it well enough
I got toltaly involved with D&D in high school, thought I should read the books it's largely based on, couldent get through the after many tries
he 6/36 clue?
I have reread it now with my kids and have a whole new appreciation for him!
change a cons in the 6/39
ruru, spell + "gas" ending
milne is outstanding, I'll never forgive disny corp for making a heffalump
I have to agree. My kids laugh themselves silly as I read Pooh stories out loud! Me too.
my daughter read wind in the willows aged 6... that was amazing!
i loved wind in the willows
we love that one too!!! nothing beats the classics.
dr. doolittle, anyone?
also very good, good reason these classics last, jungle book also
love dr dolittle!
done
Just the movie when I was little. That is worth a read I am sure.
YAY RURU!
Hooray for Ruru !!
i read lots of Jules Verne when i was young, too.
well done ruru :)
yay ruru!!
thanks for the gas clue...dc... I was going the wrong direction on that one. thanks mr p
all you finishers rock
thanks fran
we rururock
lol
I was just about to say that!
lol Ruru
fran gave the gas clue, not i
ruru, I saw you on another wordgame site the day babble was out of commission. I was mad there was no chat so I could say "hi". We're spoiled here.
I am giving thanks that I finished the grid today.. hallelujah...
oh sorry fran.. thank YOU for the gas clue..

Bye ruru, mrp.

lol ruru
ciao, ruru & mrp
lol ruru
*poof*
can someone point me in the right direction for that right corner i?
plural German "I"
sheesh, thanks dc!
i kept trying to stick an E in there! :-)
danke dc
Icies, are yummy, but proper nouns
bitte, marmar
huh. wo4 flowers yellow.
but the dye from it is blue, interesting.
or from the leaves
My cute little boy wants to play online games at the Playmobil website so it's goodbye for now. Happy babbling!
bye mary!
could be either. adding urea is what makes blues, based on my herbal dyeing classes, many start in the yellow-to-green range
bye Marmar
ciao, marmar!
or berries from the flowers. hm
i'm missing a 7, i have de7 and en7, what is the third one please?
new icon that's less obvious
lol, definitely less obvious. :-)
i included formula so it'd be googleable
good idea dc
did u need points for the su7, or you find it already?
oh su7? let me see if i can find it
oh! I'd thought of typing it, but failed to do so before :"> LOL
got it! thanks dc. :-)
aw, how sweet, I left some carrybags at the vets and Donald, our vet, just returned them - with some flowers! such a nice guy
Pakistan has been suspended from the Commonwealth
i was wondering if i had missed something. :-)
that was very nice of hum.
that was nice lynxxx
those compound words always elude me
just the clue I needed - TY Fran
finally finished Us!
*lays out butternut donuts and gingerbread donuts*
go fran!
yw lynxxx!
gingerbread donuts? yum!
i love ginger anything
seasonal special at Dunkin Donuts
darn, we don't have dunkin donuts anymore here. they were poorly managed and all went out of business along with the other franchises the company owned
krispy kremes are better anyway. Just happens that there's Dunkin, not Krispy here in Springfield, VA
pumpkin donuts DC? are they good, imagine they would be
the pumpkin were okay. the gingerbread ones are better.
that de5/14 always throws me of*, i want it to rhyme with what you walk your dog with.
:)
black friday is a weird phenomenum, and i think unique to the US
the fighting over stuff makes me ill
DC we have a dozen of Krispy Krack here
coworker plans to go furniture shopping today - he has a house to furnish
Hi Infernal
black Friday?
There's a Krispy Kreme 2 towns over - grew up near there. I hate Krispy' original glazed
i would find it very nerve-wracking to shop like that
the day after thanksgiving, lynxxx. Stores open at 5 or 6 in the morning, and have HUGE sales to jumpstat the xmas season
lynxxx, day after thanksgiving, all the stores open really early and have big sales
it's called black friday because that's the day most of the retailers go from the "red" into the "black"
i avoid shopping that day, other than for groceries, as it's not worth the crowds to me.
we avoid even leaving the house. :-)
ahhh, we used to have those on Boxing Day here...but now the 'sale' seems to go on till end january
we're talking HUGE 1-day sales leading to okay sales leading to just past Xmas
it's so bad here, walmart was threatening lawsuits to anyone that leaked their planned specials.
back in a bit - just getting coffee
k lynxxx
k
were they really? But if people don't know what sales there will be, why would they go there?
yay! finished Cs!
go, fran!
they put them in the ads for that day, but they didn't want them getting out too early for the competition to find out about
last year someone posted their newspaper ads on the internet and other retailers put up competing specials.
gotcha
i pay little mind to wal-mart. unless they're in the news, they're not on my radar
quality isn't the best, but their kids' clothing is really cheap. which is fine when they are growing so quickly
true
the second E from the middle tile is irritating me, i have the test, but the other one is hiding, any idea which one it is dc?
It's the anagram of the garden tool store, Fran.
the left E?
of course! thanks haz! :-)
and good morning!
morning, haz :)
Good morning to all.
oh! 2nd e-word from the middle tile :) caught up now.
hee! no problem dc, it is 0400 there.
oh, time for 'pirates of the caribbean' at world's end. bye all **kisses**
bye mrp!
bye, mrp! i'll likely 'see' you when i get back next week
goodmorning Haz
Hello lynxxx.
if you get the letters in the right order you can make words!
that's what i've heard babrab, hi!
where are you off to dc?
Well the game's in English, so getting the letters in the wrong order also often makes words.
Hi BabRab
Hello, lynxxx
Darkover - a small convention in Timonium, MD
cool
babrab, is that a window in ur icon?
an abstract evil eye
i looks like it wants to be a window
it would make a cool window
I think it once belonged to evileye fleagle
4 left, but not seeing anything new ... going to save them for tomorrow.
have a good night or day wherever you are!
g'night then, fran
which ones, Fran?
good night
don't know babrab, haven't looked at the list yet
bye all!
goodnite Fran. might get going myself, feeling really off - think the reaction to Bob is kicking in. Bye everyone
ciao, lynxxx! feel better
be well, lynxxx
Hi

120 words
6*17, 7*3
Hi
ty i didnt think it was going to be big today
why is that cool?
it just looked hard im missing my rs
HI
jilli misses the Rs too
i feel neutral on the issue of the R
hello hern
hello, lady.
Stupid page crashed
Hi Cool how are you
im used to using rs to conect
ohay, time for another bash at this grid
wb, ishult
HI Ish
39 still to find and not a sign of those 7's, could use some help??
I had my game interupted due to kitty cuddles
odes
su7 - compound - end of day
en7, from the lower-right E + w5
de7 - plural of the 6, which builds on 1st de4
Now the cat is doing the screw you all attitudes
that's their speciality, lady :)
Hi everyone and thanks for the clues - greyed the 7s!!
morning, jfb, yw
HI JFB.
Dc if you got drugged and neutered im sure youd be pissy too.
indeed so

Cool i dont have it
en + w5 = en7
i no it starts with en its the next part im talking about
cool girl - the 7s are de 7.36 en 7.52 and su 7.52
oh, wo5/22 - to injure
ty ive got all except the en 7
ty dc ive got it
Ha ha
:)
Sorry watching BIgest losser I am losing more than some of them in a week
Man that macaroni and cheese was good :P
mac and cheese i can mostly take or leave.
I used a weight watchers recipe. I love it.
I have to get up stupid early tomorrow to Yoga and Gym
oh opps that was Yoga and voting
it's friday here now. i have dinner at 18, then martinis at 14 tomorrow. i'm part of the Hallelujah Chorus at midnight Sat/Sun. beyond that, no structure until Monday
Nice what do you do in the Chorus sing? Play? if sing what range
i sing bass
NIce I am alto
the chours is pick-up, and usually about 200 or so of us sing
Nice cool. I haven't sung since about 94
we gather around the indoor pool, they pass out parts as we enter, we do some warmups, then once through on the chorus. then some of us retire to another room to sing xmas carols
Lovely. I miss proper Christmas. I am so over the over commercialism of it all.
i'm not xian, but i agree wholeheartedly
Its a bit hard to be Merry Christmas when by December first trees are already up and carols are already playing (which pisses me off_
yes. today marks the start of traditional xmas season, though stores have had some degree of xmas up for 3 weeks already :\
I agree with early cards as that sort of thing has to be sent os and all that
I cant find words
such tasty words
what letters might you want clueing on?
I think i have all the vowels at scrable
i have a few games like that.
tomorrow is our election also. If you hear a mega curse word across the atlantic thats just me
:) local, state, and/or nat'l?
National for the new PM.
ah, parliamentary then. fun. clear leader, or likely a coalition?
I dont know
We have a Prime Minister and a senate and a whole bunch of other morons
PM comes from party w/majority in parliament, or coalition head, like in Canada, no?
I dont know. In all honesty i dont have a clue. i know that there is one Puppet Master and his minions
I dont mean to sound ignorant but its not my strong point
no, didn't think it ignorant, most people don't care about that level of detail :)
I know how they work and what they do its just very complicated
yes, majority party or coalition head of the House of Reps is PM
so like in Canada and Britain
Yes. British System same as law. Now law i could probably talk your leg off about
in most of the Americas, Head of State and Head of Gov't are embodied in the President, elected directly in most countries.
And that President is a dick and atleast you get a new one after a period of time. We have been stuck with this arsehat for about 10years and if he gets in tommorow add another 4
true, we have at most 8 godawful years, as with the current asshat.
lol i'v enever heard the term arsehat or asshat
good morning
but there is 2 serving terms yes?
HI LIdeo. Sorry no one was here so we were being a tad borring.
yes, one may be president twice consecutively, for 4 year terms each.
morning, lideola! did you have a nice holiday?
it was wonderfully relaxing and delicious. and yourself? (besides having to work, i mean)
that's true of governors of most states, though in Virginia, and i think California, governors may not serve consecutive terms.
i slept, came to work. still at work, will go home, pack , go to convention, dinner tonight with friends.
thank goodness for term limits- because if there was even the smallest chance that our current president could be president AGAIN, i would seriously start thinking about moving to a new country
which convention?
Testify, lideola!!
i'm hoping the next adiminstration is able to undo much of the damage this admin has done, especially domestically.
Ok LIdeo how are you
shoot its late
Darkover is what i'm going to, in Timonium, MD
need to sleep, lady?
YEs
Yes its 1030pm
it entertains me that my life is in synch w/my friends in China and Australia
fat chance dc- nothing much seems to get done- its all just a big continuous pissing match in between elections. I've been thinking of changing my party affilliation to Republican so that I can have at least a little say as to which of those increasingly narrow minded politicians gets elected in the primaries
well, pleasant dreams to you; i won't likely be on line much until Tuesday your time, lady.
oh i'm not familiar with it dc, but have a wonderful time!
ty, lideola, i'm sure i will. :)
OH dc :( busy
yes, i'll have very limited online access through the weekend.
Ok
Sorry to abandon you all but i must sleep Also need to check on kitty
have a good night herin
Going to sleep
g'night, lady
i have to dive into the grid - busy day ahead between working/taking care of the kids/ getting ready for daughters 4th birthday party
oh, enjoy!
i'm off to do shift turnover and what. I hope all of yall have a great weekend!
have a wonderful time with your friends and at the convention dc!
ty! {poof}
Good mornng.
So many early risers here this morning ... babbling instead of shopping on Black Friday.
Oh, I missed Herin. G'night if you're here after checking kitty. Have a wonderful night's sleep and weekend, Herin.
'maxed
maxed should be a word, as in you "maxed" out your credit card.
This is a hard grid. Either I'm the only one doing it or all of you have your nose in the grid.
Guten Morgen , Babblers. Hi Merk. We told our daughters to go shopping for their Christmas presents and we would pay for them. They are going for a TV and a camera. We will see
Sounds like a wonderful way to do it.
I suspect that Fridays that occur on Friday are about what one should expect
We already gave our son his gift so he and his wife could use it.
Has anyone been here long enough to clue the am 5, 14 please
think of actor Don Am***
have a great day all, i am off to work
thanks lideola
you too, lideola
ty ... I should have coffe before I do a hard grid, but I don't want to awaken anyone. We had a tiring day yesterday and I hope my guests can sleep in.
bye Lideola
You have to work today ... so sad.
bye then
Clues please for the ch 4 and 5.
The 5 is spanish for boy and for the 4 take off the last letter
I started with the wrong c. I hate it when I do that. I did it a moment ago with the aw too. I am so blind. Thank you, Kristin
yvw
Someone heard me say I like the challenge of 'c' words. Lots of co words today.
Not too bad !
Merk must be in co heaven.... :)
G'd morning Babblers!
GM Lori
The point values in this grid certainly made my monkeys job easier.
If co5,24 is a word, couldn't you make a co7 out of it two, perhaps even two of them? I seem to be making up lots of new words today ... and they make more sense than actual words.
Morning, Lori ... and no r again today.
Lovin' that whole lack of r thing Merk. Tomorrow there's be like 31 re's...... :(
first pass, found all but 26 words, now the list
GO INGE GO
Inge, you are so good. I am finally at 55, but I have been here half an hour and started the list awhile back.
i am now going to sacrifice myself on the alter of black friday for the sake of my nephews, please pray that i don't kill anyone...thank you.
Or be killed yourself, Evan
Those double 'ff' tiles ended up being in a nice location.
clues for the 7s plz
The only 7 I have yet is the en and it uses one of the high pointers.
there is a de7 - builds on the de4/6
also a su7 - dusk
ty raga
hi there babblers everywhere !
gm mont
minus 6 degrees C but the sun is coming out...
ty ragalla and merk
good morning all - still pretty black here !
i know brrrr
oh my, from the closet?
lol
lol BR
4:55 am
and what on earth am I doing up at this hour!!
good question flosey !
Not many babblers here today. They are already in bed, not up yet, or out shopping for Black Friday, I think.
lol, once I wake, that's it
what's this about Black Friday, have never heard of it
am getting that way flosey... lol
Stores open at 4 am or earlier and crazy people go Christmas shopping.
It's always the day after Thanksgiving.
It's become the busiest Christmas shopping day on the calendar.
ah, sort of like Boxing Day in Canada?
hey, i resent that, i'm only going for a specific toy that is on sale
Yes, we have that, too.
i'm not crazy, just poor
Sorry, Evan.
hi merk and nut !
I tried it ONCE - that was enough - crowds were far worse than just before Christmas
ok, well maybe i'm crazy too
Morning Babblers!
diving into the grid, busy day
good morning Nono !
brb - need tea...
nut your going after a toy thats on sale today??? and you havent already left??? i wish you luck, girl, that its not already sold out!
if it's sold out nono, then they are sharing one instead
around here everything that is on a really good sale the stores are limited to just a few of each item....... you almost have to stand in line overnight to get what you want
but you know how that works right?
well, if that happens, my mom will be happy she got to go at least
the am5/14 plz
oh for sure, if you can't get the desired item you have to improvise somehow
actor Don Am***
am5/14 you put your lawnmower in * ****
Didn't get that clue before nono, and I don't get it now
oops, haven't woken yet, mine was for as5/14
tx joso ! - dont get the am5 clue either...
I thought that actor's name was Don Ameche
it is, alt spelling
same here MM...
ahh tx joso !
its not spelled quite the same mm but sounds like it he stared in 'Sins of Man' and 'One in a Million'
And 'Cocoon' and 'Trading Places'
got it nono - thought it was a direct clue is all - tx anyway
Hello all back for 54
Whoever was looking for the su ... I finally got there ... compound word for dusk.
hi ursh
hi ursh

congrats Kris
ty ty
congrats, Kristine
ty
I often look at mine curled up with a full belly on someone's lap or bed and think how easily his life could have been soooo different - farm born red tom which my husband happened to spot and brought him home for me - lives in the lap of luxury
is that him in your icon, ursh? he is beautiful

hi bbnaz!
what's this about a belt annie ?
thanks everyone
montreal, Haz made me laugh so hard the other day I fell off my chair
So, for once, FMitch could not be blamed.
yes, besides being smug, our hazel can sometimes be funny as well !!!
In fact, FM picked me up
mornin babblers! hope all the American babblers had a lovely Thanksgiving yesterday!
good morning Eva
excellent thank you Eva
and you too
Morning Eva
Good morning Eva - did you get through the day without too much guilt?
it was quite relaxing. :)
montreal, It is Atalante who had the smugness title, Haz is our Chief of Police
i called my mom and she sounded "over it" so all is right in the world. :)
glad to hear, Evan
Very good Eva
That's great, Eva and she has Christmas to look forward to.
there's that 3 letter word, right in the middle of the grid, that seems to be yelling at me... wonder why...
But I can be smug sometimes, just not as smug as Atalante.
Into observation mode, Annie.
funny i was just thinking that i was offsex myself
yes Annie true, but aside from official titles, smugness can be seen plainly in hazels, chat...
hazel's chat even...
I wonder if I should stalk Montreal today, hmmm?
dont see any flying nuns around yet...
Shall we run through your wardrobe of incognitoness?
*hovering*
lol annie
Good Morning All
hi peri
i didn't make up the grid ! what can i say ?
Good morning peri.
good morning peri
good morning Peri
morning peri
good morning all, de5,14 please
It is Black Friday and no I am not out shopping. Can't believe how early some of the malls and stores opened.
dont have it bubba
some stores opened at 5 am...
Most opened at 6 am but a few opened at 4 am and even midnight. I can't stand crowds though
many around here opened at 4am!
de5/14 - what Cinderella was meant to do. de plus the remains of the fire
I feel soory for the people who have to work in these stores and deal with crazed shoppers
4 am seemed to be the magic hour around here as well
the outlet malls opened at midnight -- the BFs brother was planning on not sleeping!
*sorry*
tx haz
You're welcome.
hints for the solo E or solo i over on the right side?
ta for that haz
Thanks Haz, that gives me fireworks
woohoo for you Bubba!
Eva - the e on the right hand side yields en7 - describes a mummy, Egyptian variety.
congrats Bubba!
congrats to bubba!!!
thats the en7 eva
en + injury
wtg bubba !

ic4/6 - German I plural
Congratulations bubba.

a + clean yourself
AW5 = a + what you do to dirty dishes or clothes
ty eva and bubba
merci bubba and Eva
i also really want *mime* and *mimic*
Shopping: on my way to work at 5pmlast night, passed a single-file line of about 50 scruffy young'uns settling in for the night along the block of closed stores, bundling against close to freezing temps, awaiting the 8am opening sales of CompUSA. Hardy nerds; tough techies.
Madmen?
amazing what some will do in the quest for good deals
hope they got want they wanted, jwr.. the stores usualy only carry a limited supply of stuff that is a really good price
okay anybody have any help for the ch4?
Okay, with my icon changed to reflect one of the words in the grid, I shall toddle off to get some lunch.
one store near me said if you buy one winter coat you can have another for just one cent!
not a guy
cu later Haz
ch4/7 - a French adjective to describe all that is elegant.
enjoy lunch Haz
I will, bye for now.
bbnz, if you add a vowel to the end of the ch4 you get the store that I worked in for a short time
later haz
where is that bloody fish?! thank you Haz
enjoy lunch, Haz
wow peri...i LOVE your store!
Hello all!
hello Scrabs
morning Scrabler!
Hello Scrabbler!
HI Scrabs
I stayed up to 1:30 AM and just woke up. I have to work from 12-5.
hi scrabs !- gotta go - BBL with 37 left - happy babbling all !
Words are NOT jumping out at me...is this a toughie?
Just looked so strange to see such a militantly NON-shopper crowd doing the shopping thing. What's next? Four year olds queueing at Toys 'R Us?
I am stuck with 70 words to find
some unusual words, bot all in all, once you look closer they aren't too bad
some take a bit of coaxing to find
when I look close, they blur!
coax is a phantom nono
Aha, I found one hiding on me.
yes it is jwr
but the anagram isn't
lol
there is an ax5,22, that you never see the word, until you ask for it on the chat, then it is very obvious
hi all
there are two, bubba, I have one but the other is not easy to see
the other is a male with a hatchet
{{{carlee}}}
two ax5/22?
bubba, thank you!!!!
((((carlee))))
yes, peri
thanks bubba
one AX is the person who wields the weapon
and Annie
morning (((carlee))))
and Eva
the other ax is a rule or a principle
oh..I did have that one eva
the other AX5 is a self-evident truth
DIDN"T have that one
i had self evident truth...was the first word I found...I'm mental
ok, actually have to do work now. :(
bye eva
later, evan
take care Eva, dont work too hard

I am getting my flu shot next month, not so bad, considering
I'm glad you're getting one!
the en's are giving me a headach
*headache
just started
doesn't seem like a very friendly grid
i do not find it friendly eithre
I found the en's easier when i did some other letters first :)
*either
okay, rae, will try that
sometimes it's the smaller ones that are the killers!!
starting to see the words re: en's
;)
finished the en's
How could manx not be included?
It starts with a capital M?
there are versions not capitalised...owh well
you are at the mercy of Enable
Hi. Speaking of nonexistent words, I'm pleased to see that maxed isn't a word. So I really have more money on my card. It obviously isn't maxed out
phantom word: mocha. ohhh, how i love mocha
yes, gramma, it is here in present tense and not past tense, go figure
haha gramma!
okay somebody please take pity upon me. i am so stuck on the last three HE words and my monkey is about to fall from the tree
hi again all
bbnaz, only have the one on top of your neck..the others not

hello again carlee
*handing bbnaz more bananas for her monkeys

yw
de 5/14?
de5/14 - Cinderella's job. de plus the remains of the fire
groan, haven't got any de's. Dives deeper into the grid
thanks haz
There's a lot of mortality in the de world of words...
You're welcome Robo.
hi Diem,
thanks Haz, that put 3 in the pot.
And you'd accuse yourself of being de5/12 if you didn't find the others.
Smacks self with many c4/6
HI balboe how you doing?
Don't slap yourself into a co4/6, you'll need your wits about you.
nothing like a peak at a board like this to make a person feel really really dumb
wow i got a 30-36 ponint words
Ah the light is d4/9ing as I pl your c4/6 and found a mis spelt childs magazine.
then i got a 22 and a 28 ponit words
Balboe just went who ,s online and you have a flag?
You're finding those words faster than a speeding bullet, FMitch.
am5.14 please??
Warming up to the challenge Haz but still a little rusty, Haven't babbled since the last big one.
am5/14 - Italian for friend, I think.
diem, did have a flag but it disappeared
i have 6 words better than testerday sortof
a plus the beginnings of plural rodent, wrapped up with a vowel
'The big one' should be accompanied with bass drum beats for effect.
why didnt I think of that!!! tyvm all!
You're welcome, Deeha.
HAve you found the elegant dress mode c4/7? if you add a vowel to the end of it you get the goat herder who was in X Factor and was Sharons favourtie.
a
Afternoon Deeha
Cue vomiting noises at the mention of El goat herder.
Sudden flashback to yesterday and "Ata dn the brussel sprouts"
*puke*
Ta daaaa!
She puked, I pretend to vomit. Could I be having a touch of what it feels like to be se6/30?
Hello Atalante!
lol I walked in right at the right point there!
perfect timing Ata
Impeccable timing.
and ours isn't to sloppy either :)
Atalante, I hear congratulations are in order?
The x is getting quite a work out today!
I know, not a decoy letter at all.
maybe :) we shall see. but there is hope!
BRB
You need us to send a petition or anything?
Or write to Jimmy Saville 'Dear Jim, please can you fix it for Atalante to be rich and famous in the artistic world.'
done!
Congrats Robo
Congratulations Robo!
wheeeee! sounds good :D
thanks. now i have to get some work done
have a good day everyone
Will she still speak to us though Haz?
Bye Robo, have a good day.
I don't know, she may be so smug that she won't remember her friends.
Thats the worry
quite probably
Do you think she'll start to do interviews for Okay and Hello?
only for vast amounts of money
Jordan might not be pleased that there's a new kid on the block.
Credit her with some taste, or will that all be replaced with smugness?
utterly
I don't know. We should really be asking Michael Winner all these questions. He's smug.
Ata let him be a warning to you - you don't want to end up like him do you?
I could never be as smug as him
Pfshaw!
Is that a valid word in enable?
might be!
It would be difficult to clue.
dictionary.com doesn't like the f so enable probably would be ok.
pshaw might be ok
No, enable doesn't like it.
Unfortunately you are correct. Steps back to allow room for more smugness.
*smirk(
Still, enable is behind the times, as we know.
There could already be pfshaw circulating among the population.
I feel so u4/6
'Dear Jim, please can you fix it for pfshaw to be included in the enable dictionary'
are we having a Jimmy Savile day today?
60 down 60 to go
well Haz appears to be, but the cigar and lame trackies are most unbecomming.
I was just remembering the innocent days when you thought Jimmy Saville could fix most things.
66/54 here diem
The trackies are comfortable. They may come back in. And the cigars are menthol flavoured.
anyone have the he5
HI all, back to find my last 50, taking a break from cleaning
The jewellery does weigh me down a bit.
34 to go here
At least stop swigging out of the sherry bottle!
Mind you, I do not clean often, so this is a big deal, the cleaning that is :-)
he5 - the start of a curse, the first two letters of the opposite of subtract
35/85 diem
Well done peri, you can rest on your virtuous laurels when done.
Or, h plus a test taken at school, replacing the last consonant with another.
thank you!
hehexam
Just one helping of he, and change the consonant at the end, Big Ma.
lol
It looks like a test done under the influence of laughing gas!
Back in two minutes.
Start the countdown!
balboe told a kid at work i had dial up he did not think you could get it anymore!! i felt old
can some one give me a clue on a oc, od, or of word except for the words ode* and of*s
clue for sh 5.14 please?
sh*** past tense of shy
sh5/14 = y horse was scared, it sh5/14 away from a twig
oh, of course, thanks much :)
there is no past tense of shy
OD** just change the crooked letter to the first vowel
shy the verb
clues don't have to be based in reality, much like babble for that matter!
you are old
back to cleaning, will return to find my last 32
i have that one od**
By peri think I will take a break too. TTFN
That explains it
finally, fireworks
WTG ADMAN
can some one give me a clue for one of the 7 letter words
got hung up on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th en- words. I was pulling my hiar out
I'm back, but it wasn't two minutes, was it?
it was more
and can some one please give me a clue on one of the 7 letter words\
YAY adman! hi all
Hello stidmama.
hello haz! how are you this lovely, misty morning? *grin*
The mummy is de4/6. It is en7/52 to preserve it.
diem, self and mari going to see mother mon-thurs
Hello stid - I'm well although the lovely misty morning translates into a crisp, cold afternoon here.
sounds nice. I think our afternoon will be crisp... if it doesn't rain!
I still haven't got used to it being dark so early. No wonder you feel like hibernating in winter.
*snuggles in burrow and munches on stored nibblies*
I'm sad because my phantom word is "sundaes", and I'm sad about it because it's too cold to think of icecream
You can have the singular, Samantha.
oh SamanthaJoy {{{hugs}}} *holds out lovely piece of pumpkin pie*
thanks Haz! *eating pie a la mode*
really? I thought it was strictly a plural. How embarrassing--put I have pie to make me feel better
want me to send earplugs? if i want to hear the tv in Scotland i just call her
You don't want to take the pie with you to the penalty box?
{{diem}} hello!
*snarf snarf snarf* *wipes crumbs from face* What pie?
(Making note to send Samantha Joy to finishing school)
Hi stid
I am struggling with the en 7 you clued Haz, got the de 4/6, and a 6/24 from that... but ???
OM NOM NOM NOM NOM
stid - the mummy has bandages around it. en plus the past tense of what you do to a clock or watch, or the term for what an injured soldier receives in battle.
20 to go
It comes from the lone e bottom right.
okay thanks Haz... (was trying wrong E!) *thinking*
FINALLY! LOL got it, thanks to you!
Well done!
looking for some H love here, folks. Have curse plus and top of your body
Goodmorning everyone. TY Haz
and hi all
jbp - have you paid any attention to the h's that call(ed) for attention?
hey jbp!
down to 81...
Im back, decided to babble a bit longer with mug of tea.
Hello lynxxx - I read in the chat log about Bob. I'm sorry.
good morning lynxxx! how is the spring progressing? lots of flowers everywhere?
oh oh -- I missed something... ?
hey FMitch!
Me too lynxx, ((hugs))
Mr.jbp here she left to play other games ;)
TY Haz & FM
hi mr jbp then! :-)
Hi stiddy
he5/24 - put a vowel on the end to become he6/39. Change one consonant to make he6/36.
Stid, flowers, rain ! Yay!, and now nearly Summer!
Stid, lynxxx's elderly dog, Bob, had to be put to sleep.
oh lynxxx! (((((hugs))))) I am so sorry, I know you've been worried about him.
Haz i thought the cat with no tail was called a Manx how come it is not found?
TY Stid
it's a capital letter diem
It is diem, but it is a proper name so enable is being picky?
as is one of my fav cereals, Chex
It's from the Isle of Man, and is capitalised.
TY for the he6
You're welcome, jbp (sir)
although the singer of Smooth Operator is in the grid.
tks you all
awwwww I'm sorry lynxxx :(
TY Ata
there. got the HE set.. LOL
atalante, why is hobbit wearing a collar?
Cue violins playing softly in the background.
she;s cut her ear :(
and the harp joins the music
But it's proved great for gathering extra rainwater.
It's made a big difference to the water shortage in the South of England.
LOL
and gathering up bits of food she missed
and when she wags her tail I can get channel 5
You should go on Dragons Den with it!
LOL haz!
I hope she feels better soon.
people would invest just in the beauty that is hobbit!
I don't know. If there was a competing Spangle product.....
TY I monkeyed it
Careful Ata, a tiny touch more embelishment and we will think you antipoean!
what is the I in the top right please?
he6 petrol byproduct
if we put the tw of them together, they'd be unbeatable
Plural German I, stid.
we could put tinsel around the edges, Atalante, my theory is that one cannot have too much "glamour" LOL
thanks haz
if you had a T you could scratch it
You're welcome, stid.
9 to go
ugh
That's an idea, Atalante. Customised animal lampshades.
Haz, we may have to consider an intervention in Kent before too long.
lynxx, that clue was great!
Still need 2 H
thats a very good idea, stid
can some one please give me a clue for en7
I keep trying "damn," but the D is over too far. *wicked grin* at least it's fun to type...
Im sorry French we are over the limit, we are only able to clue each word 20 times.
hi4/6 - and hi4/5 - attracted and attracts attention by shouting 'HI!'
what do you mean
that cleared my H word, thanks haz
what FM means is that it was clued recently. Hold on...
The en7 has been clued lots of times in various ways.
en + clock action or laceration
Balboe check your e mail
" en plus the past tense of what you do to a clock or watch, or the term for what an injured soldier receives in battle."
Would Australian animal lampshades have little corks a-dangle?
but i have been doing this for 5 minutes
I would think so
no, I think we perch a koala on a digeridoo....
corks-a-dangle hmmm was it a nasty accident?
I'll be using unparliamentary language next.
and that is what the log history is for
will do
woot! halfway and one from each tile...
got to go... see ya
I'll watch the log as I eat my oatmeal... unless you want to hear a proud mama talk about her kid?
shed
Now waiting for baked product to appear. I have a theory....
*points jbp to penalty box*
lol you synich you.
what is the correct sp of that please
cynic cynic
thaks stid, will write it out 100 times.
oops? my lickety add did that, I swear!
Mr.Jbp here -- my bad thought I was in the entry box not the chat box
pshaw as well
Its OK Mrjbp, you will like the penalty box, full of edibles, off you go. Can someone show him the way?
98 times, FMitch, I did it twice for you!
sure *takes mr jbp by hand and walks blindfolded to penalty box* you see, I have my own personalized corner...
Ha ha stid.
Funny, I never thought of myself as cynical.
2 more to go
go big mama!
not this grid, but the one before, mr jbp, I didn't see that my "lickety add" feature had disappeared, and entered about twenty words in a row!
And you can be sure that everyone duly entered those words and THEN sent you to the penalty box.
Fireworks FINALLY!
I think it has all been too much for him stid.
Well done BigMama.
Congrats!
*grin* no doubt, I would have!
ty
YAY Big MaMa!
twoobvious words were my last lol
always happens!
It's like there's always one last teaspoon in the washing up water.
Diem , thanks for that I will try it after a few glasses of wine
1 left to find weeee
Drum roll of anticipation.
what is the last AX word please?
*holding breath for FMitch*
ax plus a male -
it's an m and it's 5 letters looks blankly at the grid
You've got my icon?
FMitch -- I have MA 5/22: "the most" a plural form
*fishbop!* thanks haz
No problem.
Found it, had the pl mo but not the singular!!
I already have that word *smug*
YAY FMitch
Well done! Breathe, stidmama, breathe!
Cherishes the old fashined fireworks as they are not seen so often here these days.
Hooray for FM!!!
breathing, and typing MO words frantically
YAYYYYYYY FM!
*kicks Ata* thanks all
Atalante, you made me look for "smug" ! rofl
looooooool
DA 5/20 please?
is that 'laough on and on and on and on and on out loud'?
Hi ya'll. My goodness, are all the other US players recovering from yesterday? :)
fireworks have to find something else to do for the rest of the evening!! Open a bottle perhaps!!
I can hear her chortling all the way to here, FMitch!
yup!
YAY Deeha!!!
hi tina!
da5/20 da plus the beginnings of Peter Pan's female friend
Congrats Deeha
*burp* recovering from what, tina?
wtg deeha!
thanks and over and out!!
Congratulations Deeha.
thanks haz
Oh so ladylike stid! Congrats Deeha
heheh, food overload. I'm not so bad off myself 'cause i've been sick this week and didn't have too much of an appetite.
oh tina, sorry you've been under the weather. I was so grateful that my kid who has missed one week for each month back at school was healthy!
Oh, stid - I'm glad you kiddo was healthy too! We had TG at my husband's grandfather's house and then at my birth mother's house - got to meet much of her extended family, so it was a wonderful day. I was glad to be feeling up to it.
DE 5/14 please? after the college administrator?
de5/14 - get rid of the fire's remains
I am so glad you have fun both places! what a treat! (did you go over the river and through the woods to grandfather's house?)
hmph. hardly a "real" word, but thanks haz!
Ds done!
enable likes fire remains
I'll see your hmph and raise you a pshaw.
Sheesh!
one of them too
lawdy, that IS a bogus word - ty, haz I needed it too.
just threw that in to raise the ante
I think we scared off mr jbp...
Happy Black Friday All
Hi red
Oh, I forgot - THAT's where everyone is :)
Hello redshoes.
hi red. so glad not to be out there in that madness
hi red!
did you go to kohl's at 4am? :)
I didn't do shopping today... stidkid had to leave the house at 5 am, I got up, but Tom drove him to his school and then ducked out for some tech sales. I stayed home so the other kid could sleep
Our outlet mall opened at midnight. people started lining up at 3 pm yesterday. So sick.
I know that Nut was going shopping though.
well, isn't that what holidays are about? going overboard, into debt and out of your mind?
sad thing is I actually have to go pick something up. bah
Ms munched!
I have a funny feeling that the babblecast will be about her experiences. Provided she hasn't landed herself in jail for assault and affray.
why are the shops open so late??
Perhaps she could broadcast from her cell?
I am in the babblecast... LOL but not telling about our idea!
What will we do if she asks us to bail her out?
they opened at midnight as an event, if you will.
Ask Ata for the money of course.
not late hilary, early. It's a tradition in the United STates that the day after Thanksgiving all the stores are open early with really good sales and just average sales at normal time
crazy
se 6 perchance?
It really, really is, hilary.
it's a yummy dessert that ends with two vowels and sounds like the day of rest
se6 - describes what you look like if you suffer from motion sickness on a boat?
no, that's the SU 6 tina. need the SE
it's my last S word
oh no, sorry that's the su6
wait - wait - money? where?
A compound word - see below.
I don't have the se6 either, hmmm
You've volunteered to give your money to get Dr Nut out of jail.
You are bailing nutty out of jail if needed, thats all Ata.
a compound word... *thinking*
Well, two words, body of water, pale?
got it, thanks haz
thanks haz
I see ......
that was it! thanks haz... (almost had it by myself)
You're welcome.
NINE to go!
Does the BCOP detect a hint of hesitation in Atalante's response?
6 to go for me (5 of them are en's)
all UN words
Weeeeee, won't hold breath just yet, may expire. Yup BCOP
my son is climbing all over me, which is affecting my concentration :)
good reason, tina. Does a whiny dog count?
doesn't one have to be an american citizen for such activities??
HI all, back from a bit of cleaning. Dusted and vacumed bedroom and hallway. Swept and wet mopped kitchen floor. I am exhausted :)
If the whiny dog is very clever. Was it always good at sums?
ONE!
absolutely ;)
I don't think so, Atalante. Benefactors can be any nationality.
de 5/14 please
hi peri! well done! I am going to consider sweeping later today...
Its hard to Yay peri and hold breath for stid.
:D
um... you have to do one then the other FM
DONE! FINITO! FIRE!
de5/14 - de plus what dangles from the end of a cigarette dripping toxins.
Such logic :) Congrats stid
ty-couldn't see it
Congratulations stid.
let me guess Haz, you don't smoke? ;-)
I still have to dust and vacuum living/dining area, clean counter tops in kitchen and change cat litter and clean bathroom floor. Most of that will have to wait til another day.
Yay for stid
No and I have the skin of a 3 year old to prove it!
peri, I am exhausted just reading your list!
and don't forget you are doue at my place next Tueaday peri :))
Me too, stid
Fat chance, FM
yay Stid!
I clean very seldom and not all on one day, hence very sporadic cleaning here
What if I got hold of George for you???
I am not a good housekeeper like Haz
George is okay but not really my type
not sure what my type is anymore though
just dont borrow Imran, he's already had a hard week
I'll take a Johnny Depp over here if someone's setting aside actors. Thanks.
Aww red Depps were on special and they all went at 4am.
Ata, is that your dog, she/he looks so pitiful
so NOW may I boast about my offspring?
sh 5/14?
I was going to use his first name but that would have led to possible blushes.
dang! darn me and my love of sleep. However, I think I would have stayed up for that sale!
sure stid
sh5/14 - past tense of what the horse did when confronted with Hobbit in her lampshade.
heh heh heh.
yes, thats Hobbit, and yes she's still being pitiful
okay, the reason stidkid had to be at school at 5:30 this morning was, they were the FIRST band in the Seattle parade!
ty Haz
is she still wearing the lampshade and for how much longer
You['re welcome, bichon.
And we got to watch them live (and TiVo'd so he can see later)@!
hey bichon!
yay for stidkid!!
Wow, faints! congrats to sidlad
till tomorrow or Sunday I think
I second the yay for stidkid! my mom always wanted me to be in band so she could be a band mom.
*stid lad
He will be home in about four hours... and then I expect him to collaspe and sleep for a few hours
You keep extending the days!
I am not overly enthusiastic about all the extra driving around, red, but I LOVE to see the kids perform and be happy doing what they enjoy.
lol I know
well I think it could come off tomorrow, husband doesn't agree
Tell him I said it should come off tomorrow. The ear is healed, isn't it?
yeah. All that schlepping adds up, stid.
we have been lucky, our dogs have not needed collars (yet)
Could you at least get her a velvet evening lampshade for a change?
Or else, have a midnight ceremony.
Thinks about beading one for the DoD but draws the line there.
DoD?
You could paste little bone shapes on it, FMitch.
its scabbed over wonderfully. but we;re just wondering whether the scab could stand up to a spaniel claw scratching it
Ata / Haz over to you.
Or little haggises running through the heather to reflect his Scots heritage.
ok kids. I have to go take some meds and possibly lay back down. Have a happy black friday, once again. =)
red, have a lovely (quiet) day.
Bye red.
DoD = FM's icon
I think I need to head out, too. My dog heard me talking about the DAWGS (the college band) and came over to investigate...
ok, thanks Ata
Bye red Eer, DoD is the Dog of Doooom
see you-all later. Thanks for al lthe help! *poof*
thanks FM
peri, the dog of doom is the mug featured in FMitch's icon. We have one babbler with a cat of glory, a la Edward Monkton, the Dog of Dooooom is FMitch's version.
Thank you ladies.
thanks Haz
And doom to be pronounced like Frazer in Dad's Army. 'We're all doooooooooomed'
We're going to get psychiatric help really soon.
Shhhh HAz, can't you see peri looking at us as though we are mad or something teehee
LOL great minds again
what does Mrs Vet think about the efficacy of scabs vs the power of spaniel claws?
It depends on the power of spaniel claw.
spaniel claws are pretty powerful I have found
Phone, Be right back.
okay, had to run head off the kiddos from some kitchen disaster-making - did stid finish?
Stid finished.
She had to leave, scroll back a bit to see.
Ah, I see. Neat about her boy's band!
Maybe if the cut is pretty well healed over, it would no longer feel scratchy and Hobbit wouldn't be so inclined to scratch at it?
Hi all......clue for am5/14 please?
thats what I'm thinking. Husband wants to leave collar on until her fur has pretty much all grown back to normal level. He seriously mentioned 2 months!
Hello Flask!
am plus French for "here"
am5/14 - Italian friend, I think.
or am plus the first two letters of frozen water then a vowel
No, there's no need for that. Once it's healed, it can come off.

Hi, Babblers. how is everyone today?
Hi Nef!
Hello Nef! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle!
Hi Annie! It's downright cold here today; I want to stay curled up in my sweater today (and I can, too!) :D
Enjoy the comfort, Nef!
Hi, Min. Good puzzle today, so far not too tough! (I'm sure it will get worse in a bit for me, however)
Nef, it's a friendly grid today
The babblers are friendly but the grid makes you work a little :)
All the way through, Annie? That's good! Too much turkey for me yesterday, still a bit slow-thinking! :)
Not all the way through, though I wish it were so
Well, I now have 72 words left and it's getting tougher. As usual, I spoke too soon! :D
he
my last word...sh 5/14, clue pleease
s + h4/6
something a horse does (past tense) when they see a snake, Annie
Thank you Nef and FM...flounder, please and FIREWORKS!

How often does your favorite grocery store forget to put all your purchases into the bags, ro charges moe than the sale price ? I am seething about my latest adventrue at Meijers store , The items the forgot to pack on Wed are no longer on the shelf, so I ahd to take arefund. and all that diriving back and forth, I am livid
and don't forget the past tense of da 4/9 either
inge, that sounds maddening!
annie, i had rotator cuff repair on tuesday
ty annie
Ths store is the closests and cheapest to me. The only solution I can think of is to buy only 12 items at a time and check carefullly before leaving the checkout
is there more that one da4/9?
bethn, are you allowed to move that arm?
OUCHIE, beth! Gentle hugs to you! I've had several friends /acquaintances have that surgery this past month; I hear it's pretty darned painful!
no, stephie
beth, feel better soon!
then how do you get the past tense of it?!
only a da 4/6, then a do 4/9
there is one da 4/9
they mean the past tense of da /6
okay, i've got that!
cant move the arm, its strapped to my chest. wed. i start pt where they will begin to move it for me. it is very sore right now but babble diverts the mind to other frustrations
Ooops! Sorry, steph! I was reading da 4/6. Brain is sluggish tody
{{{bethn}}}
wow, bethn, I feel for you
one armed hug back }}}
lol bethn
ty inge no black friday shopping for me
No fun sleeping, is it beth?
into the kitchen again for me, be back later
i am "sleeping " upright in a chair with a cat who thinks i am fair game for cuddles
bye annie
I hope she's a gentle cat! did you try laying down and putting a pillow under the arm?
the dr says upright for at leat 10 more days so i dont pull apart sutures :(
shes gentle but she will not be denied. she will take down a wall to get to me if one is in her way
YUK!!! :( Any swelling with that? I think sleeping upright is miserable myself.
they gave me what looks like an ice saddle (fits in place over shoulder with pockets for gel packs) so swelling is not too bad the upright part is awful
hi all....en7/52 clue please?
en+gun shot ***** . or en+wo5/22
en+ another name for a sore; a gunshot *****

Definitely. I think I was trying to put an 'e' in that word.
But what do I do now that I'm done with the puzzle?
wait....were those phantoms or real words?
real feather...
at least my last 2 clues were real...
no, earlier
the clues were for real words; the others were words we thought were there, but were phantom
i'm not actually doing the grid right now, just watching
they are real words but not in this grid....wish they were!!!
oops, sorry for yelling then!
a whole bunch of phantoms were chatted...before momo asked for her last 2 words...
Not real but keep reappearing
lol we forgive you feather :)
my fault feather.....i started it!!
yes grant, they do SEEM real at times...
lol, thanks ata
blame FMitch... oh sorry, blame lilliann !
Is it worse on the eve of a full moon?
we can blame fm if you like mont!!
probably grant... everything else is !
Sometimes the chat appears so rapidly that I can't get my thoughts down before they are no longer pertinent.
well lilliann, she's usually the one to blame...
i'm the same mom5
join the club momo - the chat speed can be astounding at times...
fm is always to blame
At least I know I have good company
i was just going to say that mont......that she usually gets blamed for everything!
true ata...
hello babblers!!
Hi pink.
hi there pink !
hi mommy, and montreal1 !!

great minds think alike
my son and I both put a lot of work into it. It might have been amusing to an observer. he had a slight accident recently, fell and hurt his back. my back is bad anyway. two of us groaning around the kitchen as we did various stuff to prepare the meal :P
ty.....i'm de 5!!!
if you insist lilliann, then...

well you both did it and enjoyed itn so thats the main thing
yes, we did
can you tell me where you get the clues like de5? (I know what they mean, but not where to find them.) Thanks!
I'm very late inquiring, but just occurred to me. do you & family do anything for Guy Fawkes day? (a Brit friend is a fireworks enthusiast)
i don't know what they mean either mont!
again then, GMTA !
Bluedilly, let's introduce you to Lickety's page. the link is at the bottom left of this page. it's a great help!
thanks!
we don't as i hate fireworks and can't watch them as they make me dizzy
yw, blue
too bad, lilli. I love to watch them. of course, the implications of gunpowder are unpleasant
our british ex-pats do celebrate Guy Fawkes day...
no doubt. it's a big day for many Brits.
we had so many going off here that my daughter just had to look out the window and see them.they went off for 7 days....it gets a bit much after a while!
one day I've got to find a link for an audio of the relevant music. I've seen the lyrics
seven days, lilli? ouch!
i asked them last week why were they celebrating ? the fact that Guy Fawkes failed or the fact that he tried at all ? !!!
actually, that was a lie, it was 9 altogether
that's worse than the people here in the deep south and their enthusiasm for fireworks at Independence Day - AND New Years!! :(
LOL, mont
plus, of course, the ones who just shoot off their guns instead :( :(\
because he tried mont
hello babblers !
hi hk
tx lilliann, they weren't too sure...
I like fireworks *on the day*
hi HK !
hey, HK
hi helen
hi lill, tyger, mont
hi pink
i don't mind them on the day but not when they go on and on and especially at 10.30pm
then we certainly agree on that part! :)
are you talking about long fireworks videos?
problem with New Years is that they start about 10 pm, and go on until 1am or so
no, talking about actual fireworks in the neighborhoods
no hk....proper fireworkes
oh, LOL
snap, lilli :)
gmta!
I don't enjoy the videos half as much as the real thing .... in moderation
see, i got it mont!!
:D
how are you today, HK? have a nice turkey day?
well done lilliann - you catch up pretty fast !
oh, lilli's just modest
but i don't understand the d tyger
:D is a grin
or a very big smile
ahh, i see.ty
would you like a link to a page explaining all the different smilies?
what about :P ??
I've got one somewhere
yesterday was a good day - sick doggie getting better, back feeling better, friend sent over plates for us, so no cooking - won on the football games, all in a banner day! how was yours?
:P is tongue in cheek
you have to have an a level in babble talk!!!lol
wow, HK, sounds pretty good.
tx tyger - i guess i need that link
mine was a lot of hard work for both me and my son, but we enjoyed our time together, and the food
tyger - what did you do?
good evening all. how may words in the grid today
it'll take several minutes. I'm firing up the other PC. this is the new one, and I've had no end of trouble trying to transfer the "settings & files"
I'm disabled now. I used to work in university administration
i'm glad to hear that your dog is getting better hk
120 prtygirl
hey, pretty
hi prty
hi prty
thanks and hi tb & lil & hk
yes, always glad when sick pets get better. we tend to worry so much over them
tyger - sorry to hear that, may i ask what's wrong with you?
i know, about the pet thing, it's just that he pooped sooooo much blood, i was really worried, but a snap quick recovery, i'm so relieved
Hi, All -- Just went "Pro" today after messing around a while
I'm a chronic pain patient. I have old injuries to my neck and low back, and was born with a minor malformation of my left hip, which eventually destroyed the hip and knee joints
hey, zinnia
((((tyger)))) - your spirits remain high though...
hi TXZ !
I know many people with more problems than I have
hi txz, nice to see you
oh tyger - you have my sympathies - i had a hip replacement, 2 years dec 1, changed my life completely! i was like a new person - little did i realize how depressed i had become in that last while before the surgery
thanks for the hug; they're always welcome
hiya txz
& welcome!
sorry to hear that hk
I should have waited a bit longer for the hip surgery. it didn't go well. I had to have a revision 7 months later. fortunately, that fixed things
Hi, all -- It was fun choosing a photo. Oddly, I couldn't find a Zinnia, of all things
meant tyger
tyger - oh crap! revision so soon? what happened? was the revision a problem? did they have to break you femur?
I'm glad the surgery helped Tyger. Does anyone know why my flag won't show up?
did you say where you're from, zinnia?
i like your icon txz, pretty flower
brb
Zinniz -- in your My Account, did you check the little box, upper right, which says "Show Profile"?
Thanks lillian -- It's a photo of a lily in my pond from this summer.
bye mont
HK, the surgeon goofed, and I wasn't adequately instructed about how to do everything. I had 4 dislocations
later, mont
hiya jili!
I'll check that . . .BRB
omg !!!!! that's terrible! where did you have it done?
hi jilli
Hi all -- just here for a peek -- many errands to do -- back later for the last 18 :)
that sounds very painful tyger
am not gone ! hi jill
oh, it was, lilli. when your hip dislocates, the big long muscles in your leg go into a monstrous cramp, and you want to scream
hey, jilli
jillibus -- That was it. No wonder it never remembered anything I put in that section.
LOL, zinnia. glad it was so easy to fix
OWWWW Tyger
It happened to me too, Zinnia, lol
tyger - i was fortunate enough to have had a job in an orthopedic shoe store, so when people came in for stability shoes after joint replacements, i did my own little research project - was confident i had the top guy in the area - minimally invasive too :)
i'm sorry to hear that you've had an awful time of it tyger and hope things improve for you...big hug
mush dash away now -- back in a few (hours)
oh, the hip replacement was 1998, lilli. I rarely think about it anymore :)
geeez tyger - i really feel for you, cause i know how bad the pain is prior to the surgery, you poor thing
bye jili
good for you, HK
later, jilli
Bye jillibus . . Have a good one
bye jilli
tyger - well, that's good, that you don't think about it, so that means no pain?
later jill
before, it only hurt badly getting up or sitting down IF a crumb of bone got between the femur and pelvis. like I said, I did it too soon
very little pain, HK. I don't pay much attention to it
tyger - that was what they kept telling me, i would have to decide - 'you're so young, you may want to wait' but the pain was so bad, i finally gave in, waited almost 3 years & i'm sorry i did, i should have done it much sooner - quality of life is so important!
se 6/30 please
jeff -sorry, can't help, don't have it, not even 1/2 way here
se6:/30: ocean + pale

thanks lil
yw prty
i did a geography quiz on-line the other day & one of the questions was where is the South Ocean - heck, I didn't even know there WAS such a thing - but I guess that's what they're calling the waters around antarctica now :)
okay, finally: http://tinyurl.com/c2xof (warning: there are cookies)
HK, what these people wanted was to know what different keyboard smilies meant :)
I'm one of those people who often leave out the nose.
ah, i see
hubby won't let me go on that cos of the cookies....although he does love to eat them!!!lol
they aren't bad cookies. what browser do you use, lilli? with most you can refuse the cookies. I think you can also reject cookies with M$IE
tx tyger for the link
very few sites refuse to let you in if you don't accept the cookies
yw, mont
I rejected most of the cookies on that site
i now have to swap computors as i was on his laptop as he's been putting a new printer onto mine

computer not working quite right, lilli?
can't get it myself...da 5/14 please
no,they're both fine tyger.we thought the printer had died so went and bought a new one today and then when my hubby looked at other one it had one of my bangles in it.it must have dropped off last night when i took them off and put them on computor desk,so now that one is working...typical!hubby was trying to put the new one on the computor as it has a scanner in it aswell so i was using his.....and i didn't winn the euro lottery so he'll have to carry on working!essay finished!!lol
da5/14: ad4/6 + vowel

PINKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
hey georgia j
NO sneaking in
heya taff
I was trying to find something to do today
miss you
Hi Taffy
we could herin but its got a scanner in with it aswell which is easier than having them separate so we'll just keep the old ones as spare....and hubby's dead aunt as payed for it !
hey herin how is you?????
hi taffy
hi everyone... HUBBY IS HOME
CARLEEEEEEE YAH
hey, carlee
hi carlee...that is brilliant news *hugs* to you both!!!!
hi georgia and carlee
I am good. Cat got desexed and she is ready to kill every one if she could.
thanks...its been a long haul
glad to hear it carlee
oh oh..poor kitty
Taffy and Georgia what is the link?
4 kids
told you, taff!
herin i'll be back online next week friday..
YAH PINK. Hopefully our net will not be strangled
hi lilli
i hope not i have so much to tell you!!!
I miss you taff!
hey georgia and taffy!!!
YAH. I am hoping that once we pay for the net it will be fixed.
miss you too
hey lil!
Carlee she is no longer a kitten vending machine as my friend puts it. Just a sad little cone head.
do you not pay for it then herin?
is this grid... an anooying one....words didn't come to me this am..and they not popping out at me now
Carlee -- take care of YOU too. Otherwise, things should smooth out once you can get a routine. Hopefully it also means that the mil went to her home too.
Carlee how is hubby settling in?
he's tired... I think sad too... everyone who has been taking care of more of his "care" is "gone" now... its a hard adjustment
hi again georgia
yes it is carlee
Lilian i dont pay for bills or rent. Its apparently not my job. Its his to look after me. Hey i try to pay bills every now and then but he doesn't let me. Hence the reason i have a mobile that i pay for (sneaky way about paying for at least something)
I just looked at the rankings, Taff, you'd better start typing fast!
I know was hard for me after 8 days..he had 8 weeks
it will take time for both of you to adjust but you will get there!
yea..eventually... in time
Carlee he is home know it will take time. Just remember to ask for help if you need it. And take time out for yourself. Even if you spend 30min on the computer with a dont disturb sign or hide in the loo. Take time out
I will try herin...
Pink how is my number 1 little pink
i have different disabilities to your hubby carlee but my family and i had to readjust to things and t was difficult for all and yes it did take time but we've got there and it is a normal way of life for us now
remember carlee, you can count on us anytime you need to vent, ask for unsolicited opinions, and just laugh/cry
whee fireworks! thanks all cluers - off for leftovers. *poof*
bye taff! talk to you soon.
its funny how abnormal becomes normal
congrats dan!
wtg dan!!
yay, dan
she is well herin she is talking non stop....she now tells me no dont do that .... no, leave me alone and her favourite NO! she is at the loveable monster stage lol
thanks everyone
bye taff
I was htinking today that it will be strange to NOT go to the hospital
they have such lovely smells
Carlee that long drive ?
oops, did i just type that?
yea..u did
Pink got to love that NO and WHy stage. Why is the worst as you cant explain everything
BB what was that about?
hospitals or children??
yea..that long drive was my chill out..we have satelite radio in the car and I listened to old classic radio shows... dragnet etc. when was on radio before tv
carlee, disabilities are merely impediments. they can't be more important than we let them be. at first they feel like mountains, but we don't have to let them ruin everything. I have a friend who has taught me lots about it
hospitals although children can have their own delightful odors too.
Carlee you need to do that at home Listen to the radio. I have taken to turning off the tv for hours at a time and having silence in the week.
I hate hospitals. I love kids.
Tyger, that is a beautiful sentiment. Hard to believe is at first, but I have had a SMALL taste and can see the sense in it
and Carlee, you can still go drive about when ever you need that "chill" time. just make sure you have gas in the tank. i tried to run away when kinney was a wee thing and i ran out of gas.............
this was a rehab hospital... no "sickness" smells... is all spinal cord rehab...so no medicinal smells even
thx, Une. it was hard for me to adjust to being disabled.
well then lets blame it on the children
seriously, just tongue in cheek on the smells
my friend Lisa is a cerebral palsy person, but she made a life for herself.
I didn't know Tyger...if you're dealing with it for yourself, then that is even more impressive
BB my friend ran and i think she got to some gawd awful back water town before running out of gas
Hi Uni
anyway..thanks everyone..I know in time this new abnormal will become normal... and he is improving daily
tyger's right, the disabilitie changes our life to a certain degree but it not the person
well, I do know there are people with worse problems than mine. :)
and mine tyger
But for now it stinks and that's okay to acknowledge that...........doesn't mean that you don't love your hubby any less than any of us who cycle through good and bad times
yeap... its just going to take time....
you and hubby will be able to create a new life for yourselves. it will take hard work, but the results will be rewarding, I promise, carlee
Oh and if you want inspiration there is a gym instructed at my gym that i think has mild cerebral palsy or leg problems but she is a freggin energizer bunny. 2 body pump classes and in between teaching that she does the Yoga class to chill out
(o: {{hugs}}
there WILL be frustrations, and sometimes you will want to beat your head against the pavement. some depression is almost inevitable, but you can get through it. Just keep plugging.
when u going throughhell..keep on going
yup.
it's only a problem if you let yourself stay there :)
ANd remember one door opens as another one closes. Carlee you amaze me as i think i would have lost my mind 7 weeks ago and im not kidding.
ok ladies and gents im going to bed with 42 left to find.. night night all xx
maybe I DID lose it herin :op~~~~~~
Night PInk Hugs
we're all fortunate that we don't have other people's problems. we can only deal with our own
nite nite pink {{HUGS}}
nite, pink
one thing i forgot when i firdt became disabled was that it wasn't just me that it happened too, it was also my family and once i came to terms with that then things went alot smoother.it is still difficult for my hubby and bairn at times, but we work together as a family and we are all too bloody minded to let it get in the way.we've learnt to cope and you sall will aswell
good point tyger
nite pink and take care
yea..he has not realised that yet...and thinks that this has been a walk int he park for us
Feel free to tell me to bugger off but Lili can i ask what happened?
It seems you are pretty together carleekat.
--9maxi
thanks boo
Carlee its hard to accept others assistance when you feel its 'ALL ABOUT ME damn it'
yup. I can't imagine dealing with some other kinds of problems. and lots of other people seem to think they couldn't deal with mine. we're only supposed to handle our problems, not other people's (except our loved ones and friends)
long story short....have menieres disease which is to do with inner ear and dizzy spells, had treatment...didn't work...now i don't have any balance and fall over and bang into things.try and get round house but outside in wheelchair, also deaf and get pressure in the head and spend most of my life lying down, but i still have a life and a family so i don't let it get me down
wow... I can't imagine..but then again..as herin said....she can't imagine what I am going through..u just..go through it...
I have heard of that disease Lilian but i didnt realise it was that (probably wrong word) extensive
carlee,it will take time for him to realise that its not just him that this has affected...more so now, that he is at home...once he admits it it will become easier....but he has to admit it 1st!
You pick them up and then you put them down. One step at a time, one day at a time. The best you can do.
and until then..we walk on eggshells...yippee yippee joy joy
Carlee its hard but yep
I don't know. It seems that an occasional egg stomping party would be in order!
That is what 'oh gee damn i forgot milk must go to the shops' is for
( and this grid STINKS)
hahaha....good ole "shops"
YEAH! I am all over that egg stomping stuff. And yes Carlee the grid is icky.
it will probably take a massive argument and alot of shouting which will help in a way as it will get all your stress and his out but don't walk on eggshells, just tell him straight that it is effecting you all.
i've tried lil...he does not hear it and he denies its even apossibility
Well i must love you and leave you
DOnt forget Carlee men have selective hearing
bye herin,take care
it may take a while before he's ready to deal with things. some people have to go through a period of denial, you know
later, herin
ur KIDDING herin..really? * picking jaw off floor*
LOL, carlee
have a good day herin....
I am going to take a shower and then see if 'it lives' to maybe go to the beach for a drive
Yer Carlee there was research on that but any woman could have told you that for free
huh..who'd have thunk it herin...
I'm sure you have others who are also offering support, carlee, but always remember that you've got a ready-made support group here
yeap..thanks..and on that note...seinfeld is over... I hate seinfeld..so I can go b ack upstairs and make more tea
complete with disabled people who've been through and learned to deal with their problems
nite nite all
and thanks
nite, carlee, sweet dreams
Goodbye carleekat! I will see you tomorrow in the log
yvw (((carlee)))
i was told by my ot that i had to grieve for the person i use to be as i wasn't that person anymore...i still am inside but not physically and i use to feel guilty that i couldn't do loads of things with my bairn, but now i do different things and your hubby has to grieve for the person he was 1st before he can move on....once he see what you have to do at home for him, he might realise that its not just him that it has affected...it's different in hospital
hey, Min. when did you sneak in?? :)
that was great advice, lilli
bye carlee
ty tyger
people in my family have a great deal of innate athletic ability, including great strength. I still have to check myself for my frustrations at not being able to do things I once did without thinking - heavy lifting, among others
but I think the arthritis in my thumbs may be worse. It's made needlework very difficult, and using a screwdriver impossible :sigh:
but life goes on, and there is so much in life that has nothing to do with what we can or can't do
I have read someone here say that they use accupuncture for that
can't afford it, boo
and it's not covered by any insurance I have
I'd gladly try it
i know what you mean tyger....i've come to terms with my disability but i still miss doing certain things, and my bairn was a year old when i couldn't walk properly. i now have permanent weak wrists and getting arthritis in my fingers so find alot of things hard now and my ot told me to do them but keep resting, but when i can do it i want to carry on not keep stopping!
Maybe there is a clinic or something?
I live in a low population area, boo. No places here where they might offer it to me under some special plan
I understand, lilli. you just want to "get on with it". So do I! :P
Shame. I have read wonderful things about it. I don't know who here used it, but I remember reading it here too.
life is too short and we can still enjoy it but have to know our limitations and do other things and get on with life instead of feeling self pity as there are people worse off than us
Waving from the corner as I have used and am using acupuncture for shoulder bursitis and dodgy joints in my thumbs.
does it work bbnaz?
My shoulder is AMAZING. The jury is out on the joints but I have only had three treatments.
we are one in the same tyger!
I was taking 1000mg of naproxen (Aleve) a night before seeing this acupuncturist. Now I take none.
yup, lilli. we've both realized that life is still good. we just have to adjust.
exactly tyger.thats good news bbnaz
bb, I'm glad for you. Maybe one day I'll be able to try it, too. In the meantime, I've gotten a lot of help from glucosamine AND MSM (didn't get much help until I added in the MSM).
Well at least we have babble minds!
LOL, boo. you're right
anybody need clues?
without that X in the grid, there would have been many fewer words today
i still need loads tyger and not used licketys yet so i don't actually know what i want
we have a different approach here, lilli. :) I start out from Lickety's page.
i have all the 7's
only way I don't is if I start right after flip, and Lickety's late putting it up
I've noticed lately that I'm getting a lot more words before I go to the word lists for help
I hope that means I'm getting better! ;)
i normally do tyger but i thought i'd try without for a change...silly really as i didn't start the grid until 7.30pm and it is now nearly 12.30 am
Hello tygerbryght! How are you?I am just lurking here
Evening! I've just arrived for a bit of a lurk, too.:)
I'm okay, thanks, Min. kinda tired from yesterday. How are you? have a nice turkey day?
hey, jac. How are you?
lilli - 28 of today's 120 words use the 'x' tile.
i've been chatting too much as normal!!you are getting better tyger, i've noticed the same aswell. i have 69 and i would never have had that to start with
hi jac
ty jac
is that a hamster, jac?
i thought you left ages ago min
Fireworks!
I check in every now and then for icon clues. I don't see any. I had good Thanksgiving. How are you doing?
all right, just tired from yesterday
wtg boo!!
Mine is a grid clue.
I'm okay thanks, tyger, except for a knee and a neck that keep emitting loud 'cracks'.8( Must start taking Evening Primrose Oil again.
yay, boo
woot woot for boo!
Tyger - No! It's a guinea pig.
Jacula -- any recommendations for migraines?
primrose oil helps with joints, jac? I take it for other reasons
love your icon jac!
Congratulations boo57 on finishing grid.Good for you
okay. I get the two mixed up. thx. it's a cutie, whatever it is. :D
Good evening, I am stuck on he5/24, a clue please?
hey, marc
hello tyger
tyger - I used to take it for 'other reasons', too, but after I stopped taking it I realised my joints were 'cracking' so I guess it must oil them!
HE a spell plus a spot on the telly selling something
hi marc,dont have it sorry
he5/24 - evil spell + commercial
he 6/24 word is he+high point letter + **vertisement.
i use to take primrose oil for hot flushes but now take something else
Minveryork. I would imagine that your icon and mine represent the same type of clue
bb - migraines. Not sure about herbal remedies but there's a 'migraine cap' on sale that's supposed to be very good.
Thanks had that before but it didn't work. Must have spelled it wrong
hot "flushes" or "flashes"?
Hi Marc Freeman! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
probably, marc. that happens to all of us occasionallyl
lilli - does EP oil help hot flushes? I'm definitely going to start taking it again then!
okay it must be a brit thing to call them "flushes".
bb - you call 'em 'flashes' and we in UK call 'em 'flushes'.
I take EP oil with alpha lipoic acid to promote efficient use of my body's natural insulin
either way, they can be downright annoying.
bbnaz, what co 4/6 does your icon represent? Mine's braille.
the brit version is actually more accurate because a woman's face usually turns red when she's having a flash :)
...and uncomfortable, esp. when they occur at the supermarket checkout or as 'night sweats' on the hour every bloomin' hour!
well my mam use to take it when she had them so i started, but i don't think it worked for me...i take confiance now which helps and i've changed my diet...i don't have dairy anymore, but if i do for some reason then i get a hot flush!
very true, bb
I think bb's icon represents a different spelling of a child's cartoon magazine.
Or, rather, magazineS.
love your gp, jac. is s/he on a greeting card?
Mine is the Dresden co5.24. Don't know anything about it other than I thought it was pretty spectacular looking.
i have to have a fan going all night by my head and it drives hubby crazy as he shivers
tyger - Yes, it's a greeting card. I've pinched quite a few from the catalogues I've been getting in the post lately.
you're right, bb. it's very impressive
Jac -- quite a few of your videos have been on Expert of late.
I hadn't a clue what it was when I looked at it, but it's pretty
don
don
Have they, bb? I know you've had the baldy man one and the Victoria Wood one.
oops - don't blame you, jac
clues?? :)
i use to take a herbal tablet for migraines but it never worked for me but my nan and mam use to swear by them, but i can't remember the name.i'll have to find out
and the laughing baby watching his dad playing with what appeared to be WII golf
Oh yes, that was a good one, bb. (The laughing baby.)
my son saw that video. He said he's seen the man in a QUITE different kind of video
I'm mostly not much for watching videos
I loved the video of the convertible-riding horse, tho
8-0! Really, tyger>>
Meant ?? not >>
yup, jac. he wouldn't kid about that
the baby is adorable, tho
The cap for migraines is called the 'Migra-cap', btw, if you want to look it up. It's not cheap, though.
thanks Lil. I must laugh in that when I try to click on an icon sometimes and I am not fast enough, it seems like that I hit yours and get the gnome's little fanny <<<<lol>>>>
that happens to me, too, bb
I am so tired I may go but I have to finish the d's first. Could I get a clue for de6/24, please?
except I get different ones all the time\
novocaine de*****s your gums
that is what your fanny does when it sits down for too long
de6/24 - make numb
Got it any way, thanks Une
numbs it
yw :-)
whoa, 3 clues
all different
LOL, 'fanny' means something a bit further round here in UK! I know you mean 'bum/backside' though.
How about de5/14, please?
ooops. that's right. we always get the lecture on not using the term fanny pack but to say bumbag
de + end of a cigarette
de + fire residue
de5/14 remove debris from the fireplace
bumbag?? LOL!
Thanks tyger got it
de 5/14 rhymes w/what you use to walk a dog Marc.
yw, marc
LOL, bb. I usually forget that
The guide on our choir tours always goes through a list of things that do NOT translate well
I am finished!Got to show my sister-in-law fireworks!
yay, min
Well done, Min.
I need to take a break. I'll try to come back later
just been to the loo and come back to see fanny....woah...wrong site!!!LOL
bb - Let's hear some examples...
yeehaw Min! well done
lilli - Yes, I was just explaining that to our friends from over The Pond.:)
woohoo, minver!!
later, all
bye, tyger
bye tyger,take care
'Bye, tyger.
I can't remember other than things like "stuffed" and "fag" and such. I wish I could think of them right now but will do so later when it really doesn't matter
its a good thing that i know the american meaning jac!
though how you come about that meaning what it does is beyond me..............
lilli - I guess most of us do as we encounter them on TV in US programmes. I'm not sure it it works the other way around though. Do you lot in US get many UK programmes on TV?
bye tyger,
yes, on BBC AMerica
and public television
Sorry, bb! I forget that not everyone's finished. I can clue if anyone wants.
the only programme you would here our meaning jac would be xrated!
bbc-america
ed 4/6??
love coupling (I know it is old) but my niece went to school with Jack Davenport
ed+ abbreviation for grades 9-12
is that british bbnaz..i've never heard of it?
ty
Coupling? Yes, it appears that it was the UK version of a "Friends" type show
This site might amuse those on both sides of The Pond: http://english2american.com/dictionary /f.html
i don't get the clue bbnaz, that must be american grades at school is it?
When you get to the meaning of 'floater' you will see why my daughter was a little bemused when she started work at a coffee shop and was asked for a 'floater coffee'!
i must be too young for it bbnaz
I use http://www.peevish.co.uk/slang/ind ex.htm
Lil -- do you know who Jack Davenport is?
de 5 14?
lilli - think High school.
ohhh, nice jac...i wouldn't want a floater coffee!!!!LOL
de + residue from burned wood
ty
Jack Davenport used to be in the great series 'This Life'.
hehehe -- that term translates here in the proper context
i might reconise him but i don't know the name
Think Pirates of the Caribbean -- He was the "other" love interest for Keira Knightley
bb - I was just about to say that. LOL
ohhhh, now i know who you mean!
hi everyone
hello praise
hi p2h
Hello, praise.
just got back from my 2nd Thanksgiving
2nd Thanksgiving? You must be full of food now!
way too much food
LOL well the first one was last weekend
so I had time to work up an appetite again
LOL
you must be sick of turkey p2h!!
well yeah a little
Mind you, I think we'll be having 3 'Christmas Day's... the real one with just P, me and my Mum, then a repeat performance on Boxing Day with P, me, my Mum, my 2 kids, P's daughter, my daughter's b/f and another on 28th/29th December that has all of the last lot plus my son's girlfriend who'll be over from Holland.
clues for the first 3 mi
LOL although I really love it
okay........off to rest my bum until the flip. see you all there I hope.
bye bb and take care
DRE - the mi5 rhymes with a microfi***. The rest extend that.
think of micro FI*** and change the start
Jacula your Christmas schedule sounds a lot like mine
Will you be standing up or lying on your front, bb? LOL.
dang Jac...I have been emulating you too long. I am not worthy and I bow in your general direction ;~)
you'll definately be sick of turkey jac!!!
LOL, bb!
have we had anymore visits from cupcake?
lilli - I'm not a great fan of turky anyway. I prefer beef, duck or chicken. Might have to get a goose for this lot though, especially if P's parents join us for the 3rd dinner.
still confused with the MIs
wasn't on yesterday and started late tonight but haven't heard anything about cupcake p2h
DRe - try 3 letter word for the mi***phone that you sing or speak through + 2 letter word for 'male'.
we're going to france and my mams doing gammon and capon
That sounds really nice, lilli. Do your parents live in France?
thanks
y/w, DRE.
yes jac, they retired and moved there 13 yrs ago and love it
lilli - I've got to do a separate veggie meal for my daughter. She wants 'something with aubergines'.
what are aubergines?
eggplant
oh okay
never tried eggplant
Whereabouts, lilli? My aunt and uncle are doing up a place in Mohon with a view to retiring there in a few years or so.
i like aubergines and love moussaka
they live in the vendee which is 85 in france
I am done and have to go. Thanks for all of the clues.
bye marc
praise - if you do try it, be sure to put salt on the slices and leave for at least 20 mins so the salt draws the bitter juices out, then rinse well, pat dry and then use in your chosen recipe.
'Bye Marc and well done.
ty jac
I may get ambitious and try that
lilli - I have to put potatoes and tomatoes in my moussaka for son and Other Half, the aubergines only go in 'my end' of the dish. LOL
need some new veggie recipes
that reminds me that i have an aubergine in the veggie basket...it must be a pain though jac, that you're having to do a veggie dish aswell as all the traditional things
hi all, just scrolling through the chat ... two letter word for male ? EX?
Mom - LOL! No a little more masculine.
It just slipped out while I was reading through.
hi mom.did you have a nice thanksgiving?
thankfully I am still on my first hubby.
last 3 Hes??
lilli - not really. I'm used to it and, after all the years when daughter was anorectic it is still such a pleasure to see her EAT.
It was a nice day, Lilliann, thanks for asking.
i'm on 2nd
Not worn him out yet then, Mom?:)
I'm with 2nd long-term partner but we're not married... yet.
sorry to hear that about your daughter jac,but atleast now she is enjoying food
I am taking a little break. I will be back soon to clue.
1 ex hubby and 1 ex fiancee....i get through them!!!lol
bye bye Min
Jacula I love the picture on your icon
DRE - he + high point tile + short word for 'commercial'. Add a vowel at the end for he6 and change last consonant for following he6.
cute!!
last 3 hes
See you another time, Min.
No, I think I will keep him. We will be married 25 years in January
Thanks, DRE.
bye min...probably still be here!!
thats silver isn't it mom?
lol Lilliann
Yes it is, Lilliann
Jacula, you are a very pretty lady. :)
Mom - I am? How do you know? Oh! I forgot about the Flickr pics. LOL. Thank you, ma'am.
my mam and dad have been married 42 years this year, don't know how they've done it.....saying that my dad does have selective hearing which has helped....bless him!!
Yes Flickr. You're welcome
My late Dad was the same, lilli. In fact he was virtually deaf. I think it was a self-defence mechanism 'cos my Mum never shuts up.;)
My mom has the same selective hearing, Lilliann. They just celebrated their 52nd anniversary
I've noticed that my Other Half (been together not quite 5 years yet) is developing selective hearing so, hopefully, that means we're in for the long haul trip.
years ago, when i worked in a nursing home, we had a couple who were married for 6o years and redid their vowels, it was lovely to see.
i've got a good excuse as i am deaf, and only lip read when i want to!!
can some one help me for the 7 letter word
I hope so Jacula
welcome back French Fry
Lilli - don't you mean their 'vows'??
they redid their vowels? what about their consonants?
wow, that would be great to be married 60 years.
Great minds think alike, Harp! Hello.
I will have to live to be 85 and my sweetie 88 to be married 60 years.
Hi Harpjane
hi featherbee its fench fry
hi mom
French fry - Hate to tell you this but there are 3 x 7-letter words.
i have de7- when you go to heaven (past tense) + past tense the word
My grandparents just celebrated their 60th anniversary
A happy/sad occasion
hi jac and everyon!
can some one give me a clue on one of the 7 letter words
Greetings Friends.
does anyone have an icon clue for me?
that doesn't sound right, does it?
se 6/30 please... last one i promise
Lilli - my Great Grandmother used to lip read selectively. If my auntie (the one with the place in France) was rude about her... she'd be sure to hear her!
yes, sorry i meant vows..it is 1.22am here!!
Hi, Scrabbs.
Jacula, you were in my dream the other night. I was traveling through the UK and met you.
Hello Scrabbler. Happy day after Thanksgiving
hi scrabs, did you have a nice thanksgiving and how are you feeling now?
Hope you liked me, Scrabbs!
Never mind, lilli, you made us smile.
se 6/30?
hi scrabbs can you help me with one of the 7 letter words
se6/30 = the ocean + rather place (as in 'why so pale and ***?')
I have very vivid dreams and this one spooked me--seeing the highlights in London, then I went to Paris. Such detail that I assume I had a former life in Europe, as I have never been there.
*Meant rather PALE, not place.
i'm the same jac, i have selective lipreading but i know all the swear words!!lol
Too much TV, Scrabbs. LOL
Lill--it was a nice day yesterday. My back is almost pain-free--some twinges occasionally. I am going to play tennis on Sunday and I hope I don't regret that decision.
hey gang
Hi Feather
Scrabbs - I think you should maybe have a sitting on the sidelines day on Sunday? Try tennis on Wednesday or something?
Time to go ... clothes to fold and put away. It was good to see everyone. Hugs to all. Night
Hi Featherbee
don't jump around the court as normal scrabs, take it a bit easy
Hii, feather.
hi featherbee
hi feather
poor nick. 5 hours in a car, twice, is hard on a baby!
where have you been feather?
where were you going that was 5 hours long?
I will warm up well, stretch, pre-medicate, and see how it goes.
went to grandma's in PA
just play a short game to start scrabs
So long as you don't overdo it, Scrabbs. If it hurts... STOP!
did you go to washington D.C.
where is pa?
I will tell the other 3 that I will be playing cautiously.
nope, near altoona area
ITS PENNSYLVAINA
PA = state of Pennsylvania
just updated my icon with a clue. does anyone else have one?
pa is pennsylvania
PA is Philedelphia, methinks.
sorry... left the caps lock on
you can't do cautious scrab...once you get on the court you'll be navratalova!!
philadelphia is in pa
I turn into a Tennis Warrior!
sorry, forgot about overseas folk in my 1 handed shorthand
Thought so, feather. The song 'Dancing In The Street' as the line, 'Philadelphia, PA...'
what is the ic word, well can some one give me clues please
theres no need to shout frenc fry and i can't hear you anyway!!!lol
oh right jac!
wow so funny i for got to laugh
ha
can some one please give me some clues for the ic word
Is the aw5 a "normal" word?
nick RARELY all out cries...well he just had a session tonight poor guy. just wants to be held.
ic word is plural German personal pronoun.
the hold poor little percy!
I want to be held and snuggled and placed in a swing.
Is he teething, feather?
jac, french fry is about 10 or so...
hi nut,did you have a good thanksgiving?
thank you featherbee
don't think so jac, just stressed from the car ride all day
thanks giving was good lilli, you? have it wherever you are?
Scrabbs - I think you mean ax5? It's a spelling for the mad male with the chopper that leaves 2nd vowel out.
noooo, really, i never would have guessed that!french frie sounds like my 8 year old!!
welcome french...i'd clue you but haven't done the grid yet
i know
no nut, i'm english and we don't have it here
you just got online about 5 minutes ago
poor you, no excuses to binge on turkey then
I guessed French fry was a child but don't know from where. Might have been a German child.
lol yup
No, Jac, I have ax5, but need aw5 and cannot see it.
good point
i have been on here for a long time and i only have 6 words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
Oh, aw5 = a + what you do to clean your body.
going to go check on scrabble games
TY, Jac. That silly H was hiding from me.
acually my grandma was a german child
i am a american child
nut - the nearest we have to your Thanksgiving is Harvest Festival but we tend to give food to others at that time rather than feast on it ourselves.
Well, French fry - ask your grandma what 'I' is in German.
y/w, Scrabbs.
our local churches in our village don't want food anymore jac, when my bairn's school goes to church they now want money for other countries in the world
See you later, feather.
Really, lil?? Goodness! How the world is changing! What about this country?
can some one give me a clue for a 7 letter word please
exactly!don't get me wrong, i donate money to different causes in this country and others but harvest festival was always about the harvest and giving food to people who needed it in this country
got to go have dinner
can I pls get clue for AM 5/14?
don't have any yet ff
That is how the states feel. We send our money to other countries and don't take care of our own!
Speaking, or rather typing, about sending stuff to other people... our local newspaper has been asking people to donate shoeboxes of presents for our soldiers abroad. When my Mum took some stuff into their office today the lady behind the desk was telling us someone had put a tub of Philadelphia cheese in one of the boxes. Now how's that going to not be off by the time it gets to its destination?
am5/14 = am + French for 'here'.
that is pretty silly
am and french for here
hi hodag
hi lill!
I have to make something for dinner---BRB
de7 = makes numb. en7 = en + to injure. su7 = nightfall.
thank you Jac and Lil!
PING! Is your meal ready now, Scrabbs? LOL
y/w, phan.
could someone clue the ch words?
i sent a couple of shoeboxes off for children...my daughter wanted to do it and we started last year....it could go to children here or anywhere in the world...my bairn spent £10 of her birthday money on one of them, but i didn't know they wanted them for the serviceman or i would have sent one as my brother was in the 2nd gulf war and we use to send him food parcels but not philadelphia spread!!
ch4 = fashionable and sassy, and very 'Paris'.
ch5 = same with a vowel at the end - it's a South American name?
got it thanks
y/w, harp.
I am now done, does anyone need clues?
lil - Do you do the 'People's Friend' shoeboxes to Romania thing?
Hi, All
I'm done, too, phan, thanks.
Hi, pam.
no ty phanmd still way behind...chatting too much as normal!!
hi, pam. hi, everyone
hi pam
Congrats, phan, btw!
hi, jac, tNc, and all
**PING** Yes, my cheese sandwich has melted sufficiently. It is easier to nuke it than to make grilled cheese. I put sliced tomatoes on it too.
we do the samaritans one jac
Hi, Tea. Not seen you for a while.
Congrats all finishers!
Hi, Lill
phan, can you tell me the letter and point count for the bottom right e?
Yahoo phandmd!
Hi, Scrabs.
I KNEW IT, Scrabbs! LOL
hi tea
Hi, Jac - been here and there
en 5/20
en7/52, Harp.
en 5/14
en 6/27
wow, not T's in this grid, or R's...
en 6/24
I am not into cooking at all, just heating and microwaving. It makes me nuts to gather up lots of ingredients, follow a recipe, cook something, and then it is eaten in 7 minutes.
so, is that 3 different answers to my question? lol
the only thing that sort of gets to me jac, is that we buy the things to go in the boxes and then they want money aswell to send them off
en 5/12
pam - no, but the 'x' is in 28 of the grid words. Let me know when you want the lowdown on 'The X Files'. :)
oh, bottom Right E is en 7/52 sorry
I will make soups, pasta dishes, etc, but my way---no recipe.
is it a plural?
HarpJane, the E you want is en 7/53
no, but add a w word to the en
en7/52 - en + injure.
and scrabs, you being a doctor...you should know you are suppose to chew everything atleast 50 times!!!
I'm having lots of problems with babble so signing off.
ciao, min
sorry Min, goodnight
bye min and take care
Goodnight to my fellow babblers!I'll see you tomorrow
enuff
I am so sick of these headaches, doc scrab!
lil - Doctors tell you what you should do for the best but don't necessarily do it themselves. A bit like painters and decorators whose houses are an embarrassment to the street. LOL
how's your blood pressure, pam?
well, you should listen to yourself!
pam - stop holding your jaw so tight! I'm right, aren't I? When you read that you unclenched your jaw.
hi pam it is french fry
thanks, i'm taking a break now
oh got to go
'Night, Min.
i will be back in about an hour
Me--low, TnC.... just in a cycle...
Pam, I am referring you to see a headache specialist--Boston must have a Headache Clinic. And you need a MRI of your brain and paranasal sinuses. If needed, I will prep the OR and clean out your sinuses of polyps. Who would like to assist me?
low bp can be a cause of headaches - we jsut had this discussion today
I'll do it, Scrabbs. 'Rolls gloves on.*
lol NOT me scrabs!
LOL, scrabs. The CT scan showed a cyst in the maxillary sinus--right--haven't had an MRI...
well, see y'all later
really tea? i always have low bp
Clenching the jaw is still the main cause of headaches.
I have super low BP as the norm.
I have to have a new doc--mine went to concierge--and I have one, so I will chat with the new doc...
I do clench--have a mouth guard...
bye phandmd and take care
OK, now who would like to be the anesthesiologist? Of course we are using the Fisher-Price Home Nasal Surgery Kit and Fisher-Price Home Anesthesia Kit.
104/72 was mine tuesday
pam - a cyst? Right! That's it! Lie down and let Scrabbs and me sort you out. Seriously, get it seen to.
apparently so, we had this discussion while stamping card today with my mom the medical chickie!
me,me,me scrab!!
Scrabbs - this isn't that game 'Operation', is it?
They don't do anything for it , jac...
OK, Lilliann is our anesthesiologist---get out the mallet and knock her out cold.
This is not a game, Jacula. We must cure Pam.
LOLOLOLOL
pam - do your also have Bruxism? In other words do you grind your teeth at night?
Pam, you won't remember a thing, don't worry.
i'll just knock her over with my scooter and that'll knock her out!!
Jacula, do you have a melon-baller? It should scoop out that sinus cyst.
Yes, I have Bruxism. I don't grind, as much as I clench so hard, I have cracked teeth...
I know, Scrabbs. Knock 'er out then Lil and then me and Scrabbs will excavate her nasal and sinus cavities.
I do have one, Scrabbs. *Hands implement to Scrabbs.*
saying that, my balance isn't very good, actually its non existent anf i might put scrabs out instead!!
We can use a Shop-Vac to suction crud out.
sounds, well, very invasive, scrab and jac
Pam, you must stop clenching your jaw and grinding your teeth...NOW.
i've got a masher...is that any help????
Surgery is often invasive, Pam, LOL
Great idea, Lil, when the cyst has been removed with the melon baller you can mash it and see what it looks like.
I know, scrab... I had to learn "lips together, teeth apart" 7 years ago...
oooh lovely....can't wait!!
will it pop scrabs??
Pam, it sounds like you have TMJ
There's a headache clinic in Cambridge, but I can't remember the name
I think I may have to disappear for a short 'comfort break' after all of that. Giggling can be dangerous when you're a 50-year-old mother of 2.
Yes, Lill, stand back when you mash it.
hi sidra and what is tmj?
I do, Sidra. And I have sinus migraines
me
too
Haha, Jacula, time for new undies, huh?
oops
Lol, jac
Tempero Mandibular Joint or The Medical Journal. LOL
TMJ is officially temporomandibular joint disorder
bye jac, hopefully i won't see you until tomorrow, nothing personal but if i do my hubby will tell me off!if he's not snoring already!!!
often, you get it from grinding your teeth at night and clenching your jaw. It can lead to some pretty serious damage though, like scoliosis
*sound of woman staggering up the stairs, bathroom noises (blanked out), undies drawer sliding open and apple catchers (new pair) emerging.*
Pam, my doctor thought I had sinus headaches for years, it turns out they were all TMJ headaches
LOL apple catchers??
ditto praise!
Apple catchers? Haha
big knickers, praise.
LOL never heard them called that!
we call them Granny Panties
ohh...i always wear big nics at night jac!
It's A West Country expression, praise. (Cider country. LOL)
I have a guard for my mouth, and that helps.
I also have meds for the sinus headaches--the cyst is huge
me too, expensive, but worth it
massages help too
You wear nics in bed, lil? No, don't answer! We won't go there.
why won't they remove it pam?
pam - I cannot understand why they won't remove the cyst.
only nics!!!
Oh, LOL! Okay, Lil.
i can't wear pj's because of flushes/flashes!
Ask scrabs, jac and lil! Something to do with the risks outweighing the benefit...
Ditto, lil! But I wear cotton tee-shirt type nighties.
(And no nics!)
i used to but i still sweated too much
I guess, pam, that the cyst is located in a place that is fragile and could be damaged?
ooohhh, you dirty little devil!!!lol
I am not sure, jac....
Lil - I just throw the duvet off, fling my nightie up, my arms the same, legs splayed... Other Half says... 'Damn! I always sleep through that!' I reply, 'If you came near me at that point, when every pore is a5/20 with sweat I'd probably punch you!'
LOLOL jac!!
he's very weird! That sort of remark seems to excite him. Bet it wouldn't if I really did punch him, though. LOL
Pam, you need a second and third opinion. You suffer too much.
i do something simlar jac....but hubby doesn't help by throwing the duvet ontop of me, when he does that i turn the fan up even more and point it towards him...he then quickly gets the duvet back over him....nasty i know!!!but i don't care.....its a war where hot flushes are concerned!!!
A flannel soaked in cold water and then wrung out and folded 3 times down to a long oblong and then once across to make a shorter oblong, left on bedside table to apply to forehead when the night sweats strike is v. helpful. My Mum gave me that tip.
War indeed, lil! I know! Have done same myself. I can't sleep with a fan going though... we leave it going until I go up to bed, usually about 2 hours after he does.
I wish I could sleep with noise going on but I can't.:(
your turn scrabs....
i'm curious to see what yo have!
i couldn't do without my fan...i've had it nearly 3and a half years now, and on every night and day if i'm lyoing down dizzy and it's still going...bless it...i'll miss it when it goes!!!lol
Pam - I do agree with Scrabbs. You need to talk to other medicos.
hubby calls me "volcano butt" due to the heat i generate, and i'm not even hot flashing yet!
that's one good thing about being deaf, i can't hear it jac
I did have a second opinion... And, it was better all summer--better for me is fewer, less acute pain///
lil - Other Half found a batter operating fan that clips to a shelf and bought one for me and clipped it on the shelf over my half of the bed. That is also very beneficial. I just worry that switching it on, though it's quiet, might wake him.
Feather, I played my word--I cannot make my bingo without an E, so not an official bingo, I guess.
does he wake up easily jac? my hubby could sleep through a bomb going off!!
feather - We are different in that way, then. Apparently my butt is 'bloody freezing!' even when I have a night sweat going on, as are my feet. That's what Other Half says.
I think that the gas company could use me to provide heat during my hot flashes. I swear that my body temp goes up 6-7 degrees in seconds.
Me, too, Jac
lil - No, he doesn't wake easily since he's an HGV (long distance) driver and well used to sleeping in uncomfortable conditions in laybys next to busy roads.
my feet get hot aswell, but my hands are always cold....but what do they say...cold hands, warm heart!! thats me
so is mine jac
lol, gee scrabs, too bad i didn't play vine instead of vino! i did that deliberately, figured vino would be harder to work with.
Ah, lil! That explains our weird hours and our affinity! xx
i'm always so warm blooded at night. i'm a furnace!
exactly jac!x
sisters unite!!
mine now works 4 on and 4 off so he can be at home more to help me
My face temp goes up when I flash--though those stopped for the most part once the hormones got regulated 10 years ago... but I have rosacea and during a flare I feel on fire...
When we first got together, me and him, lil, he had a job where I could go out on the road with him and I did so, 3 days a week. It was such fun. Can't do that now though, and he's mainly office-based now with the occasional run.
when we got together i went with him to france and italy a couple of times and it was great, but now i couldn't do it anyway, plus we have the bairn and plus he's now just based in uk
I'm appalled by UK cabs though, Lil. Have you seen the comfort USA and Aussie LGV/HGV drivers have?
All the old transport caffs have also mostly gone.
how long do hot flushes go on for?is it years and years?
yes, the uk lorries are nowt like the american or canadian ones, some of them even have microwaves in them!its all healthy eating now jac
lil - I read on a website about the menopause that hot flushes go on for about 2 years. However, my Mumm ( now 73) still has them, including the night sweats, and so does her friend who's in her 80s.:((
Pam, your facial skin must be ready to blister during the hot flashes
my hubby has always said that if he won the lottery he would buy an american cab
It's funny, scrabs, thats how it was--29 starting menopause and having rosacea flares...
lil - I was thinking more of the B&B transport caffs. Places for drivers to sleep and eat. Many of the roadside vans for drivers in UK offer great food!
i had a hysterectomy 3 and a half years ago which is why they started and i'm still getting them, not as bad as i use to with changing my diet but bad enough to annoy me
Lil - They're just about getting cabs you can stand up in now, if you're taller than 5' 2".
lil - my Other Half drooled over a rig on sale from Australia. It was wonderful. We could have gone off and seen the world in it.
me and hubby have both lay on the same bed in his cab, don't know how we did it as he's not little!!
aw?
i think i would have fallen off it, the only thing stopping me was the driver and passenger seat infront!!
I 'should' have had a hysterectomy 7 years ago, but, at the time, we had had (sory about that!) yet another house flood, daughter was in a clinic, lots of pets of her I had to deal with plus all else. I didn't have time to be incapacitated for even a day.
a and something you do every day to keep clean amy
tyty
can you not have one now jac?
HI EVERYONE
hello everyone!
they get you in and out within 2-3 days and it is now 6 weeks recovery instead of 3 months
hello everyone
hi robin and annie
hi lbd
We did that, lil, when we first got together, and because my brain was so 'silliyfied' by just being in love, it forgot about me being claustrophobic... until I woke up in the night, clamped to the bad og the cab bunk by something that was snoring. He thought'd I'd flipped when I knocked him off the bunk, flung the window open, stuck my he4 out and gasped for air. I scare the hell out of the poor man!
hey dawg and annie
*Back of the cab
did you all have a good thanksgiving?
i
I had a quiet peaceful TG Day
LOL jac
LOL jac!
not scared enough, he didn't run away, jac.
lil - Not sure if I want or need one now. The fibroids have probably shrunk! As to can I have one now (a hysterectomy) should I want one... my surgeon died 2 years' ago... so who knows?
Hey, these big, hairy lorry drivers aren't tough all through, you know. LOL.
I had a hysterectomy when I was 46 years and it took me weeks to recover...
oh, sorry to hear that jac.how do you know whether they have shrunk?do you have pain or other problems jac?
Annie - I just couldn't take even a day at out the time. It's just the way things were then.
HI EVERTONE!
they like to think they are!!
hi robin
Lil - they shrink during the menopause, and, apparently my hormone levels are at an all time low now, so tests say.
hi lbdawger
guess what? my favorite book is oprah's next book club pick!
pillars of the earth, ken follett
Is it really that good, feather?
i was just 35 when i had mine annie, and here they now say you can go back to work in 6 weeks, instead of 3 months, but it takes alot longer for your body to recover as you ssay...it took me 3 months to fully recover
Yes, lil, they like to think they are. Show any one of them the film 'Ghost' and watch 'em crumble! Or play 'Radar Love' or 'I'm Comin' Home', or any number of country tracks (which many seem to prefer) to them... get your box of tissues out. My heart melts when a strong man cries.
lill, I found it to be a terrible operation and I had 2 teenagers at that time...
My aunt gave me that book, feather, and I will get to it soon. I am almost done with "Eat, Pray, Love".
i've reread it several times annie. read it in high school the first time.
I had a hysterectomy at 41 and ovaries out at 44---about 6 wks to return to "normal".
it's the reason i got "into" art history in a minor way
Okay, will read it then. I just got "The Nine" by Jeffrey Toobin.
he has a sequel to it now, that i almost picked up last week
Bunny Callie just came hopping into the room. She says, "Hello, silly Babblers."
but i was afraid the sequel wouldn't be as good
hi callie!
hi bunny callie
Hi to bunny Callie
I am officially hating the "UN" words after the first 2.
'm wondering if Mary Lawson's next book after her debut novel, 'Crow Lake' is worth reading?
my bairn was 4 and a half annie.my mam had to come over from france to help me.i had a full hysterectomy scrabs, and because of balance problems it made the recovery worse, but it was the best thing to happen to me and i'm glad i had it done
I am glad that my optional parts were removed--nothing but trouble for me and never used.
I like Eat, Pray, Love...Scrabbler, what do you think of the book? I dont remember the author's name???
hi callie!
un6 - logs not yet turned into logs. un6 - to take the thing that holds your skirt bottom away, un5 - to unman or unwoman? un6 - not cast off yet (think snake and skin)/
optional parts, funny!!!!
I am enjoying it for the most part. The 3rd part is not as good as the first 2. The last part is when she is in Indonesia. Author = Eliz Gilbert
right its nearly 3am,i haven't finished, too busy gassing and i'm going to bed.see you all tomorrow.take care all.goodnight
Optional parts = tonsils and adenoids, gall bladder, appendix, uterus, and ovaries...oh, and wisdom teeth.
jac, its been lovely chatting to you.take care and nite
sweet dreams, lill
It is late, isn't it, LIL? Goodnight to you. x
da 5,14?
ty annie.
no uterus, ovaries, tonsils, wisdom teeth here
no uterus, ovaries, tonsils, wisdom teeth here
da5 = da4 + personal pronoun.
bye all {poof}
LOL, Annie.
ty jac
Bye Lill!
I agree, Scrabb, the first 2 parts were better than the third...
TY, Jac--I am still working on un6/24, in case you would like to make it simpler for my tired brain
un 6/24 take a skirt apart
NM, got it now.
un6/24 = un = se4/5 (skirt hem etc.)
I assume you all found the su6/24 - knickerbocker glory? (Icecream and fruit dessert.)
What a pretty name for a dessert!
I finished this afternoon because the grid was friendly
..and wo4/9 - blue make up worn as in Mel Gibson's film role was William Wallace?
I am currently working on su6 and 7
Annie - I finished before breakfast in UK and before I went ou to do the weekly shop. It was a nice grid.
Elmer Fudd told me what wo4 he lives on.
want clues?
de 6,24
I got it now, the su6-7 combo
Jacula, you almost always finish the grid quickly, I think that is marvelous
su6 sound like a day when it didn't rain.
su7 = nightfall.
Damn! Too late! LOL
Annie - it just comes from experience of being here since almost the start. Take no notice of the date on my 'pro' bio. I was here long before that.
oop got it
and smarts, Jacula
Scrabbs - any more needed?
de 5,14
Sorry, Annie! Can I soothe your wo5/22s?
LOL
hello babble-pals!
de5/14 is to empty the cigarette container, maybe?
de 5/14 ---to clear the chimney of debris
Hi Stid!
ty annie
Hi, stid.
Nut and I are going to try to do a babblecast. We'll see how it goes. Pretty late for her.
hi stid!
Anyone have ? for the moderately good Dr. N?
hey feather!
how's nicky-baby tonight? still cute as a button?
He is adorable!
i have a question - where the heck is she stid?
Ahm stid, so you will be the one that sounds sane in the Babblecast?
Hi, ren.
and so to bed with a good book, good night, dear babblers
hi mistress :)
she's at home ren...
'Night, Annie.
hi rennie!!!

Pirates of the C 3 is one of my Christmas wish list entries.
comes out dec 4th ondvd and blu ray
Just had to buy my Mum the 3rd series od 'Lost' on DVd in Wollworths today. GULP! £44. something or other.
Was one of them called Karen, ren?
da 5,20
Pirates 3 is on sale in UK already, ren.
da5/20 = da + wh** ( what time, where?) minus the 'h'.
oh boo hiss - cry cry cry
ty jac
Or... break of day (da4/9) with a vowel interrupting last 2 letters.
y/w, Amy.
Don't get so jealous and hissy, Ren. I've chosen not to see it until someone buys it me for Christmas.
I am back. I was playing Scrabble. su7 is NOT the pl of su6, I discovered.
i'm buying it dec 4 for myself! i'm not waiting on anybody or anything
http://tinyurl.com/ns6yn
NM about su7, I found it and am now flogging myself with a limp salmon.
I think a frozen salmon would be more apt, Scrabbs. LOL
"oh a pirate's liefe for me" - ok be back soon - need to cook din din
Watch the film I just posted now. Enjoy Jack. LOL.
later ren
It is 22 degrees F here!
Oh dear! That sent Ren back to domesticity! It must be good!
The ski resort on the hill opposite us started making snow today. They want to get a base of snow built up to complement the natural snow we are getting.
Weird, Scrabbs.
en 7?
No weirderthan peopl;e believing Captn Jack's ral though. LOL
Finished...thank heavens. Have a good night all
Actually, yhe ski resort think is financially oriented... though I guess PJack Sparrow was, too.:(
Well done and good night to you, uniquity.
But, if no one believes that certain look in Cap'n Jack's eye isn't real, I can assure them that it is. My own dear love has that look in his eye at times.
Good work, Uniquity
YAY Uniquity! sweet dreams!
hi apparently my 14 day trial expired, so i dont get to know how many words there are.... is anyone allowed to tell me or how does it work, now
120 words, with 3 7's and 17 6's
thanks
However, I don't need to tell you all that, since Ren once described by Other Half to someone thus...' Remember George Clooney when he was in ER? That is Paul!'
Hmmm, jacula--nice.
Welll, he is nice, Scrabbss - as you can see if you check Flicker pics.
whooo hoooo Uni!
Well done, Uni.
I need help with en5/14
en+ a boy named ***
howsabout en7?
oops, change that to en + your books are over *** at the library
en5/14 = en plus a 3-letter word for when a baby's meant to arrive or a bill should be paid.
en7 = en + hur your body.
hurt
en7 en+ if you are stabbed, shot, bodily damage...
Wel, that's telling it like it is, lbd! Hi, btw.
de 5/14?
rhymes with what you put on your dog to take for a walk.
hi Jac
de5/14 - remove debris from the end of a cigarette?
is everyone doing the same one? or do you get a new one when it's over?
TY for en5...it got me the en6's that follow

lbd - same here for me , LOL.
and i think on that note, i'm gonna get some popcorn and try and watch numb3rs. we'll see if i get past the first handful of popcorn and the numb3rs intro. lol see you all tomorrow.
You reach either a certain point of not soberness or some kind of' going as far as I can on this situation' nowness..
good night
i saw the ren earlier, she still in here?
enjoy your popcorn
No idea, nut. Sorry.
*sniff* s'okay jac

nut will sleep nice and tidy tonight, snug as a squirrel in a nest... *wicked grin*
*checks windows for squirrels and bigfoots*
It's all in good fun, nut. Life needs goofy folks like us!
you may have been goofy, i was being serious, and as for calling that squirrel cute, well that was just out of line.
totally uncalled for, dastardly
*blush* well, _I_ thought is WAS cute! but then, I have always been attracted to "bad" boys!
I'm sujre stid jjust tripped up the steps as she came in to type. What a lovely thing to do; so human.
lol jac/stid
Goofy is good!
human? ARRRR. i am not human! i am a PIRATE!!!! grrrrr *brandishes swashbuckle*

hello emeeeeeee.... need any clues? don't mind us, we're just sharing grog and keelhauling badguys
Lol, stid! Should I play the pirates theme again re website on here?
Or can you all hear it anyway?
*pegleg slips out from under me and I land on my well-padded posterieur...*
And see Capn Jack and his biog brown eyes and tthat hair?
i always hear pirates theme music in the background, the midget orchestra says its my theme music.
*flicks line out and catches nut's swordarm and lashes it to the capstan*

Paul and pirate mails DO!
See you all next grid.
hi stid - long time!
The un 6/33 word is un plus sa 4/8 word Amyjv.
amy -- think of how trees are turned into lumber. if not done, the tree is un6/33
hello Min! welcome to the grid!
hey ping -- are you home for a bit? your blogs make it seem like you haven't been there much lately.
ty guys
Hello stidmama! How are you doing?Did you finish yet?
your kids just get cuter and cuteer-er!
yw
I finished this morning. I was up EARLY.
tomorrow, I plan on sleeping in.
Congratulations stidmam on your early finish!Hooray
so does nut *removes cup of hot milk from sleepy nut before it spills*
thanks Min. here to help if needed.
Hi all!
I'm finished too.I finished at 6:41 p.m. game time stid
hi
hey woulf! how was your long, lovely day?
YAY Min! well done!
How did it go this am, stid?
Hello Greywoulf! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
well, the kid was up, on the bus to Seattle, and we got to watch him and hi sschool band on TV. It was very nice.
Hi Emeeeee! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
it was longer than planned, stid -- Buddy woke up at 6:30 and I couldn't quite make it back to sleep so I spent the morning cleaning the kitchen
oh -- is he teething, or just restless?
woot fireworks!
I didn't clean anything today. Spent most of my time on the sofa, trying to write. It was not a good writing day. Took forever ... Still need to write a bit more before bedtime.
YAY Amy!
Hi Min - we are doing well, here at the woulf den -- how are you?
thanks for the help y'all!
the day was lovely, clear and sunny (a bit chilly) but very pretty. And quiet. I like quiet.
don't know for sure, what's up, stid -- I think it is partly due to the fact that he isn't yet fully over the cold he and I shared -- so he still has some coughing issues
mmm hmm. Yes, I remember those days. Actually, Tom still has some issues from his cold... he wakes up sometimes still. Poor little guy, he's only 41 and it's tough to watch them suffer isn't it?
ROFL!! 8-D
*grin*
I wonder if nut has fallen asleep... I hope so. She's been up even longer than I have.
I just went to Who's online and I did not see my name
spooky, min
you're not a WHO???? that's an outrage! LOL actually, it doesn't show you... if you're online, you know it!
If anyone was to look, then they would see my name?
yes Min, just a sec...
And, if you know you can write, you can do it.
hi Ping!
hi gw!
i can see you listed on "who's online" min
you are between minliq and mitsy sue ....
Ok, just wondering. Not really important. Thank you!
my typing is really bad right now, sorry. I think I am anticipating pumpkin pie...
I don't have to anticipate -- I already had my pumpkin pie for the night :-)
In a bit, I will be having some coconut custard pie
Goodnight to my fellow babblers!I'll see you tomorrow
good for you! I want to finish this one, and make a fresh one tomorrow... maybe an apple pie too.
sweet dreams Min! see you again soon!
bye (hi) minver
Farewill, MIn -- good to see you -- dream deep
stid - not going to throw a pumpkin in your direction. Going to head of upstaris now and take flack from those in family who got up earlier than I did.
*straps on jetpack and prepares to snag some coconut pie*
Hi harp -- how has the weather been treating you lately
hi. new here
sweet dreams Jac. see you later!
hey harp!
I made an apple pie last night, btw. LOL
*will swim ocean for apple pie next*
hello word
*prepares to meet stid mid oean.* night now, girl!
You don't have to go that far, stid -- we have an untouched apple pie here as well *waves tin temptingly*
*lands swifly and stumbles to door*
Wolfie - shurrup. LOL.
knock, knock!
sorry Jac -- just trying to help stid save some money this holiday season
Damn! Foiled again!
(I assume you lot are reading the old comic book scripts for this?)
of course, since I am midway between you , we could all meet here and compare recipes!!
hello
that sounds like a great idea, woulf!!!!
So.. wolfie, whre you youy ,me and sitd end up meeting?
hello to wordogre and mitsysue -- how are you both tonite?
hello mitsy!
We'll need to rent a convention center... the east coast is LOADED with babblers!
My Other Half asked me about 6 weeks ago, 'Do you want to spend New Years' Eve in Times Square (NY city). 'my reply was 'Not really!'
Oh dear! I like to be at home for year change
too true, stid -- but I think we could work something out -- heck, there is a gaming convention that takes place in New Jersey usually in July -- we could work something out there I am sure
you bet we could! I think winter in the new england is too cold... spring or summer is more my style
but not august. It's horrible in august
(august on the west coast, however, is quite nice)
hi babble buds...still 49 to go...ugh
Jac -- I used to live within 40 miles of Times Square and never once did I ever feel the need to be there for the holiday... watching it on TV was just fine for me
{{{STIDMAMA!!}}}
hey cathy!!!! how are you?
I have 46 here, Cath
doing good...tgif!
*staggers and recovers*
how are u mama lady?
no kidding... nice to have the weekend in front of you, isn't it?
we have had a lovely day cathy -- long weekend you know!
ahhh...gotta love the long weekends!
I think tomorrow I need to do something with the kids, we did play a game with the one who was home today... might be nice to get a family board game going
anyway, I will clue until 10:30 game time, then take a break and eat my pie.
so ask away!
I am looking forward to Sebastian being old enough to do that with, stid -- right now we are lucky if we can get halfway through a game without him throwing pieces around
let's see -- he's almost one?
lol...i hear ya...whilst i was waiting for the laundry to go through the wash...chris and I play tiger woods 2007....he got a DOUBLE EAGLE!!! WOO HOO!!! Was sooo proud of him!!! lol for 10 years old and not on a real course at least!!! i got a couple Eagles too! hehe
almost 2, stid -- the year has flown
ahh...GW...enjoy him while he's young though!
can you set him up in his high chair with some pretty, oversize game pieces and let him take "turns" that way?
oh boy... where have I been??
well done, Chris!
so that must be a video game?
not for long enough -- he is smart enough to know when he is being placated as a distraction
But not willing to talk yet!
we did celebrate his victory!!! he got first place for the course/challenge...whatever ya call it!
playstation 2 mama
sure. well, he's smart like his folks!
he's dying for a Wi for xmas
okay, I have heard of that one...
but he has mastered one word very well and loves to demonstrate his mastery whenever possible --- "MINE!"
those Wii are intriguing, I like that you actually MOVE with them.
rofl.... yep. TWO!
awww...gw....my boy was like that too...they seem beyond their years by times...but at others..well...ya gotta soo love what you can teach them
like virtual reality stid!
welll...i'm diving bk into the grid....just went to lickety...so hoping for the best b4 i must pass out for the night! lol
Of course it doesn't help that his sister keeps trying to tell him how to play with whatever he is holding... she can't quite grasp the concept that he is happy even if he is not using the item in question as it was originally intended
if a non-real person encounters VR, do they feel like they are "home" ... *cue weird music*
well, she's older, woulf! she knows the rules! 5, 6, and 7 get increasingly interested in rules and order...
lol...dunno...maybe i can find my virtual man of my dreams on the Wi...if we get itl...depends on the behaviour of the child between now and then
sure. but aren't wii's in short supply up there? they are down here.
well...i checked 3 weeks ago and they were getting some in at Zellers..$269 canadian
kids need to have things to reach for, but that's a pretty big carrot, cathy!
wow. that's an excellent price
so i'm racing to the mall tomorrow...of course he'll get it, but will be a surprise till it's opened xmas a.m.
i thought it was good stid!
oops "wii" i gues then
lol
Cath -- I saw a news report from a local store here -- they has just gotten in a large supply of Wii's and were sold out by 7:03 am.... the store opened at 7
k...off to grid for me
that will be good... I think you will enjoy it too -- from what Tom has told me of his friend who has one it's a nifty gadget
okay, I have to head out too.
specially for golf or bowling etc
{{{hugs}}} stild
so long stid -- enjoy sleeping in {{**hug**}}
I'll see you-all again soon!
*poof*
night stid
hi cathy
omg..really gw???? i hope i find them stocked when i get there tomorrow!!!
hi ping!
nite stiddy baby!
can some one give me a hint on the 7 letter words that is not another word for nightfall
Cath -- I am located just outside of Philadelphia so the population base of rabid video gamers is proportionately higher... way too many kids with way too much disposable cash from my perception -- I will keep my fingers crossed for you
one is to muffle sound french fry
de = muffle sound
hope that's the case...they said they were sold out 2 wks ago when i was there....and at that price i was willing to not shop around and wait...i hope i can get one!
the other is en 7 which is tied up...
hellar
using the e in the right corner
Did they offer the option to make a reservation payment? Maybe, if the worst happens, you can do so this time
i will certainly do a lay-away plan if that's the case GW...
even if it comes after xmas it'll just be bonus...
find them frenchy fry

I am in such good company. Now I am channelling GW and earlier it was Jacula
Well Herin, if she hasn't taken in any fluids, it is tough to pass any. I imagine during the surgery they had a catheter in there.......so unless she is drinking and NOT peeing, I wouldn't be too concerned just yet.
what's next jilli?
help please with am 5-14
its my last word
I am not too concerned but i am being a worried mum
So Grey, how many youngsters have you?
3 un words, bb -- the first un4/6, the un6/33, and un5/22

my only problem with electronic format for books is that sometimes I like to flip back and forth between pages and doing so on a screen means that I always have to reorient due to the change in light density -- it gives me a headache after awhile

how do you know that he ran out of puzzles
I have found a flaw with the amazon kindle store -- I can't find anyway to jump to a particular page of the catalog -- I have to page through one at a time
yep. that and a storm which took him down too
he said so himself in the chat log
told us that he had enough to get us through the end of the year.........
