oc9
definitely a symptom for me tonight!
thanks for the te7, nan!
stid, you'll have to meet the character called Pierce
I didn't leave the house even to go into the garden until this afternoon as the sun was going down. Have been spending a lot of time struggling with my writing project.
You know, we call the little dog dementia on occasion... sad thing is that she reponds to it. Poor little critter.

joshing Herin
Still no word yet
DOH ? Herin
Ok im a bogon ill admit it. A metal boat is the ti sometimes vowel ending and the ti ie ending is 'chuck us a cold ?? out of the fridge
There will be a Doh if John Howard is reellected possible thoughts of relocation to boot

I am at halfway. going to sleep and come back with the list in the morning.

ummmmm not our hand crafted beer...maybe that budweiser swill.
nite Stid
night stid!
nite stid see you real soon take care
but i have a Vertical Epic that will win you over amongst many other fine quality brews here.
That is true. Good ale on the the other hand is a fine art form.
they say that Anheuser Busch has so many clydesdale horses so as to fill their beer bottles.
which group of Ozzies did the taste test to compare the beer to the piss?
hi babrab! *snicker*
lol bbnaz
and I am an ale drinker. mum is a limited partner in a gold medal winning brewery here in town. mainly ales.
lol at BR
Hi Babrab
I love Cascade beer but its a specialty beer in VIc as its from Tasmania. Now i tell you what i would rather drink wizz than the local pig swill Fosters
hello, peoples
I have a label to stick on things -- POPP (Pure Old Panther Piss)
Sneaking off to BBs house
hello babblerabble
Hi babrab
Lol Jill and hi Babble
hey ya rab
Jilli lol!!!!
herin BB? Bridget Bardot??
no need to sneak......just come drink!
BBnaz that was too: BB your american beer is as the Ozzies put it 'week as piss' :P
yay! done with Js
I have me a bat wuppie icon
go Fran!!
cy 7
the fact that americans can and do make great beer comes as no more of a surprise than the fact that the Ozzies are cranking out terrific cyclists.
TY C'nan
and thank you nan!
thanks cyber
so cute infernal! (just refreshed)
no bat yet herin......still the white kitty
thanks nan!
off to bed, goodnight all see you sometime tomorrow
probably called but an7
night flosey!
nite flosey
would like to find that oc 9, but it's not going to happen tonight! --- see you tomorrow, folks
I've never been a beer fan but recently had some Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale (founded 1820 in Nova Scotia) with a lamb Rogan Josh -- nice
nite Flosey & C'nan
Bb people think the pigs swill Fosters is the best. I love Cascade and the brewery is awesome. All water used to clean the bottles is reused in the main house's gardens, all broken glass is recycled, all the left over hops and yeast slag is feed to pigs and horses
NIght Flosey
ooh jilli IPAs are good
nite flosey sleep well see you soon
coopers do you like?
Hi Jilli - I agree, beers great with Indian!
Not really. I like Bees Nez (knees)
haven't tried that one. will look for it here.
I dont drink beer as a thing but a sample every now and then is nice
night flosey and nan!
well i am old and acid reflux is reminding me that alcohol is not my friend...........
but a good ale is delish
not old bbnaz!
bb, I'm older but not as old as the Queen Mum was and she liked her daily martini(s)
BB Did your daughter enjoy her birthday. Also the Queens mum liked her booze
yeah but i have a partial hyetal hernia and acid reflux. makes too much liquor not so good. too much can vary from a glass of wine to a shot of tequila (in moderation)
Clara had a grand birthday. She is most excited that she can now buy tickets for R movies
ok thats kinda cool if thats her thing
oh my, what a goal!
she is quite a knowledgeable movie goer and actually a very good girl so I am not too concerned about her choices of film. She also has looked old enough to go since she was 15.......and she never cheated even when her friends did.
cy7x2
thank you dr
lol, DrB -- I only have a cy4!
thanks doc!
Thats a good thing i couldn't get into a pub until i had ID
she is also trying to finagle a used car from her papa...but that remains to be seen
well she has no taste for spirits either except an occasional sip of mine. trust me I am not being naive. i lived waaaaaaaaaaay over the age when I was her age.
well, just got a cy7/40
they are both cy7/40
they are very similar jilli
would somebody please put the t tiles next to each other!
BB are you trying JETi to are you?
ok, got both cy7s -- thanks DrB and fran
yes amongst others!
I keep trying
left column grey
oh and BB i dont have a drivers licence and im 30
good transport there then?
Yes and i have never had the need
unfortunately there is lousy transport here so a car is quite necessary. shame actually as I have lived in cities that had excellent transport and never had to drive. much nicer
bb, I had my first booze, a Cuba Libre, when I was 14, at the Cafe Rouge in the Hotel Pennsylvania, NYC (PEnnsylvania 6-5000) but you're not old enough to remember Glenn Miller...
OH Jill did you have the pleasure of hearing him live?
,y cousin taught me to drive when i was 12 so i could drive him and his friends home from the juke joints
nope not the first time around however my phone number growing up was AMherst 6-6925. And other prefixes were CRestwood, MUrray, WIndsor to name a few
Yep, and Dorsey and the young Sinatra etc -- danced to them
whoa jilli!!!
WOw.
cuba libras. my parents would have a cocktail every evening when my dad got home. my mum would have a cuba libra. it was my drink of choice for many many years.
Totally cool.
what's a cuba libra?
Rum and coke, ren
those were the days hey Jilli
rum and coke with lime
ah yes, I remember them well...
ah ha!
my dad will be 85 in feb and my mum will be 80 in feb. so that music got plenty of playing time well
*too
trouble was I was wartime and not many boys around :(
bb, your parents are my age
you should be writing these thoughts down jill or talking into a recorder. very very important stories and memories there.
my mum grew up in los angeles and my dad in phoenix. they met after the war whilst at university.
I tried with my grandkids, bb and bored them to tears
Jill you need to write down these wonderful memories
yes Jilli! (again!)
damn the torpedos -- straight ahead!
You surely wouldn't bore me with the Nana tales Jill
i PROMISE you that they will want them when you are not here to tell them.
forget the grandkids Jilli - do it for us!
well, I'm running out of time!
i would not be bored jilli
I used to listen to my Grannie over and over about Africa and the war and meeting Grandpa and her first jobs
so start talking into that recorder. carry it around and everytime something recomembers....talk into it.
i drive around with one and have my dad tell stories into when we drive around this town that is now a huge metropolis. his stories are priceless!
same here Jilli i was always asking my grandparents about their days the young ones today seem to be engaged in their own wants and desires shame but it looks like us babblers would all appreciate your stories
I never knew my grandparents but now I know how very interesting and unusual they were -- have been acquiring pix and info for Geni.com from other family members.
Jill its like how language has changed and people think that its ok to politically correct it instead of leaving it alone as a reminder of what we had.
or call your local university or historical society. they will have someone who will come out and take an oral history from you.
Holy smoke!
fortunately the next generation in our family is just as eager as I am. I have four siblings and 6 nieces and nephews........we have traced our family back in the US on just one side to 1621........quite interesting to read about how they moved after the civil war and came across the country. All of us have worked on genealogical stuff and there are self published family books.
What Jill
DO IT NOW!
okay off soap box.
jilli has started something lol maybe a nostalgia club
Language -- yes -- when I arrived at an NY high school as a Brit and used the N word (which was a friendly one as far as I knew) I was severely reprimanded and humiliated in front of the whole class.
wow bbnaz - thats impressive
that's great bb -- keep it up!
it is fascinating and I am just sorry that my grandparents are dead and I cannot query them I can only rely upon my parents memories of the stories (which of course are never entirely factual, especially if trouble was involved). Going through papers of the estates has been fascinating.
One great uncle was arrested for bootlegging whilst in law school at harvard. he had my grandfather help him out of jail and he returned to california where he finished his law school at stanford. you can be THAT was never talked about whilst he was alive.
Thats what i am talking about. People were labeled strongly by their colour or religion but that was what was done. To deny this past is really not allowing us to discuss why. Enid Blighton's Bessie was changed to Tessie as Bessie was a common name for a African American house made. Dick was changed to Rick as well DIck is amusing but it was short for Richard and Fanny (likely short for Frances or Francine) was changed to Franny
Now see herin, I ask you. If a person who is an African American moves back to Africa, do they become an African American African?
O crud, lady
lol bb!!!
Mmm. I am the one that looks for pre Political Correct books as i find them fascinating. Language has always been fascinating to me
What's the matter with Negro? It has dignity!
I have trouble with blacks in America referring to themselves as AA. It would be like me calling myself Irish/Welsh American
my aunt fanny married a cherokee indian named monk
I only had my daughter read classic fiction that was early printings, not the later sanitised versions.
BB you say AA and i think of ALcholics Annon
well i was taking a short cut.
Reni that sounds interesting
okay. get that history recorded jill. and on that note, I am going to go to sleep!
see you all later
I've mentioned this before so stop me if you've heard this one. Why do recent versions of Little Black Sambo picture him as an African instead of an East Indian which is what he was?
can you even find a story of Little Black Sambo anymore?
My Grannie went to Africa after 45 they had house boys and everything. my Grandfather was a Sargent Major in the army I will never know what he did in the war as he was part of the Securities Commision.
He was an Indian boy in story books
*my story books
now I really am gone.
Oh yes -- Amazon (or was is Abebooks?) I got one recently, unBowdlerised.
night bb!
Ok according to Wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Bl ack_Sambo
BB no running off
how abouts a golliwog where might we find them?
lady, please t4url that
let's just say that it is late, i have to ride and i firmly believe in the JFK statement that we should judge a person by his acts not his color........
how insane is this? we actually had an employee disciplined for trying to explain the meaning of the song "Jimmy cracked corn"
exactly my way bb
*snap*
Opps sorry. My Pc is being slow and i hought that would fit on one line
Ok night bb
oooh, yeah, golliwogs! So loveable! Dare I say "picaninny?"
Hi everyone
bb, I though that was Martin Luther King Jr -- great man
hi mymuse
hi muse!

cool muse! don't let it overwhelm you. :-)
night bb, lol
LadyScopio
http://tinyurl.com/yv9km3 this is the lyrics to that song
has anyone seen flask recently?
how about the original title of Christie's "Ten Little Indians?"
she was on this morning i think frannie
she deleted her facebook account and i haven't seen her babbling either. i even emailed her
actually no Fran
oh that's good rennie
three scorps in one room yay!!! hello ladyScorpio
From wiki that discusses the Jimmy Crack Corn song
http://tinyurl.com/2kf4gc Lady i have to agree with this one
hi scorpio!
lore, are you a scorpio too?
lady.. the problem was that someone at work thought the song was demeaning, and it became a very polarized issue
she's been around, fran. she was here last night
hi fran
hi ata! i must be missing her then.
she's been on evening uk time
and hi :)
which is my morning when i'm not on-line. that explains it. :-)
ata! i looked at all your pictures!
oh the poor baby with her cone on!!
ooo!
rennie, doesn't ata have the most beautiful work?
Scorpio call me Herin. Ok also Ten little Indians was also called 'Tell little Nigros' That was changed to Indians. Also there is several darker lyics aboutwith that song
that was sooo much fun! you have some great fotos!
Hi Ata my cat has joined the cone head brigade
what happened to kitty infernal?
ty!! glad you enjoyed! they are just my daily wanderings around with the dog :)
awwwww poor kitty
She got desexed
I have stoner cat video too
new conehead icon
lady, just finished reading that wiki piece about the origins of Jimmy Crack Corn -- VERY interesting!
Herin, just looked at the url you sent.. the funny part about the whole work situation is that a week after the employee was formally disciplined the Smothers Brothers sang the song on the Grammy award show
Flask was about at 1230ishpm grid time on yesterdays grid.
Scorpio -- did I ask you before? Where in Queens?
Jilli - Flushing, work at JFK
Oh dear (head desk) some people need to chill out. If you find something offensive state your reasons in a manner that is logical. Then bitch like heck if the person continues
I used to live in Forest Hills Gardens. Went to the Trylon and Perisphere World's Fair in 1940 :D
Jilli -- you really need to write or record your life experiences, they are fascinating!! I danced at the 1964 World's Fair
and my d-i-l (a scorpio) danced at the 1967 Montreal Expo
Meant to ask you before is your d-i-l an Oct or Nov Scorp?
herin - not only corporations, but even small companies carry anti harassment insurance to portect them from just such incidents - and the insurance is not cheap!
*protect them even
Ren I was bullied and harassed at my work for 2 years and i went nuts literally. I think what i am getting at is if you find something offensive tell that person. IF that person is a complete senseless dolt then the super and if it continues then yes go and tell the super until something is done about it
that is the proper procedure to follow
And i am glad the company i worked for got sued for their behaviour by someone else and taken to court about mine
i hope your supervisor, or hr did something about the harassment you suffered
oh yay! the tapeworm is back!
ata both ways and it's joined by the ringworm also. :-)
Um Nope he was a sexist pig which is half the reason i quit/got fired. They wouldn't let you have a pee break for more than 2 minutes
Harassament is certainly a problem in the workplace. Unfortunately in my experience too many people claim they are being harassed when all we want is for them to do the job they are getting paid for.
scorp -- d-i-l is Nov 19 -- what are you? (Sooy about the delayed response -- Her Feline Majesty requested a cuddle)
ringworm? *thinks*
ringworm, athlete's foot, whatever you want to call it.
Jilli - I am an October (24) Scorp
what's the difference, scorp?
Lady that is my birthdate
herin found her twin lol
In any random group of 30 there should be at least 2 people who share the same birthdate (statistically speaking).

YEs i must thank Sprite for that suggestion?
Chris a wubbie is the icon theme for today... those little fluffy things you get to promote stuff.
Though I had never knew what they were called and to be honest, I don't think I've seen one for about 10 years! lol
Well it's taken me 2 years to learn to change my icon once, so don't think I'll be adding one
I have an icon
of a wubie

How are we all
cold! but i'm up to 75 words now. :) how's the cat enjoying the Reiki?
Purring her head off. Poor baby.
awwww
She got desexed yesterday and is not amused
awwww.... i had my bunny done a little while ago... not a happy site a hobbling, grumpy bunny. They make you feel so guilty huh? Even though its for their own good!
finding all the sore spots on her i didn't know that rabbits could be fixed?
yeah, girl rabbits are particularly prone to ovarian cancers and tend to die young if they're not sorted. She seems ok now, but in a silent protest seems to be shedding all of her summer coat all at once, its like a winter wonderland in my living room at the moment. lol
Ok. THats a smart idea
She is chasing her own shadow. I think the Reiki helped.
And yes i feel like a meanie doing it
Bless. It is the responsible thing to do though. Stops the tom cats fighting over her too when she's in heat. Lots of fusses over the next couple of days and you'll be the best of friends again.
Oh yes i am the cuddle monster. have been very careful in how she is picked up. I am also $315 out of pocket
Ouch! The bunny cost £120, I guess that's about $250! Its a lot of money to spend to make yourself unliked for a few days!
I should not play today... I should not play today... hi all :)
good morning sprite
thanks for the theme suggestion, i now know the proper name for wubbies
why not sprite?
Hi SPrite Thanks for the icon specoa;

OH Wonderful Sprite where you going?
well ive made my moved sprite if that will cpompensate..
OH i am sooooooooooooooo Happy. WOOT
we go every year, 5 days to Ameland (small dutch island). We spend the week with friends, we have a private sauna and a small swimmingpool. We play the Transformation game. And have fun and share. Our dear friend Jom passed away last year, this will be the 2nd time without her. So we will remember her as well and celebrate her life and her friendship.
that was a great move, rolin!
just trying to catch up... and that break sounds really good
it's one of the highlights of the year for each of us. It is a blessing. 5 ladies, all wise and experienced in looking at themselves first, very insightful and also a lot of fun!
OH im am sooo jealous Sprite about your holiday. I am sorry about your friend.
and lots of yummy food, i am sure. Good morning all.
lol lady, I can understand the jealousy. It is very special. We usually laugh until we pee our pants, cry and comfort, and we learn and grow together.
hi lideola, yes, that too. One of my friends will do the cooking and she ROCKS.
and... we bring sake and port :)
sounds like a wonderful time sprite- something for the mind, body and soul.
Hi Lideo
hi herin- how go the elections?
it is, lideola! When we come home, it always feels like we had a 6 week's holiday, lol. I can hardly wait. Must pack today... should not play....
*sprite started playing*
Howard has conceded. He is no loner the Prime Miniature.
me, too sprite- daughters 4th birthday is today, her Wizard of Oz birthday party is tomorrow, and i have my regular employed work to do. Glad i decorated the cake last night. Have a great time, sprite
sorry, have to be off... kids call me
OH OH OH Lideo awesome. Must have photos. What is the cake?
oh wow.
Have a fantastic time Sprite
i made a sheet cake- its a regular yellow cake- chocolate fudge icing in between the layers
white icing, but i made a rainbow in the top left corner
What is the decoration?
out of candy
Oh wow an over the rainbow cake you rock
then i used green cake decorating spray to make green grass
and i bought an interconnecting dorothy/toto. scarecrow, tinman, lion figures - the connect in a train and they are standing on the yellow brick road
i piped on yellow icing in a spiral and then connected it to the figures to complete the yellow brick road
OH Can you please take photos to share please. You dont need to ahve identifying people pics
i have small poppy flowers that i am going to put on just before the party to make a field of poppies and i am going to dust them with powdered sugar
please stop that sounds so awesome. You are making me die of cuteness.
and finally i printed out a picture of the Emerald City that i am going to stand up and put on the right side of the cake
awesome
i will take picures tomorrow just before the party when i have it completely set up and post it as an icon. Its my personal gift to my daughters, as baking is a hobby of mine... its my own little labor of love to give them the best cake that i can for their birthdays
Yah
That sounds awesome. My boy is a big Wizard of Oz Dorthy fan
how old is your boy?
He is so so so sweet and cute and its really awesome. He gets best boyfriend ever award
because next week- there is a a much darker/different perspective program on called "TinMan"- I believe its on our SciFi channel
i have it set up to record
oh i thought you meant son when you said "boy"- haaaaa different idioms
thats wonderful i am happy for you herin
back... now let's see how fast I can play if I don't chat all the time ;)
NO sorry

For those that poo poo Reiki my cat has been a dead corpse the last day and a bit. Did a little Reiki on her and shes up and playing and being cheeky
got it thanks NoNo
Bye LIdeo Enjoy
Yea for Reiki!!
I use Reiki on my cat all the time
reiki rocks.
herin, didn't know you did Reiki
Have been a reiki master for over 20 years now... amazing releases of the old traditions now from japan lately... wonderful. It works like a charm.
I dont usually but she was in so much pain and discomfort i had to do it
didn't know that about you sprite :-) or herin
have been a Reiki Master for 7 years
Wow Sprite. I didn't know that.
doesn't often come up in conversation, lol. I always get very tired of people who think they have to 'revert' everybody to reiki, so I tend to keep quiet and just do it.
Poor baby kitty had desexing and microchiping (which doesn't hurt them (sorry my butt it doesn't) she had a hot spot on the microchip injection site and on her back
seem to be lots of people on Babble who are intersted in Babble, I never "push" Reiki, people are either interested or not
exactly. It is not a believe or anything, no need to go around converting people. People usually get interested when they see some results.
lol @ peri... lots and lots of babblers who are interested in babble indeed... :P
how do you "do" reiki?
oh and morning!
Well i have seen the results tonight thats for sure. Poor baby kitty was all dead now she is moving about like before.
HI Feather.
it is channelling energy, featherbee, and hi :) Either by putting your hands on, or even over a distance.
Reiki is learned from a REiki master.
and it can also be a spiritual way of learning and growing, if you make it part of your everyday life.
it is very effective for stress reduction and pain relief
and it works!!!
sounds interesting
actually, what a teacher does is helping you reconnect with the energyflow that was your birthright to begin with.
also sounds like it ties in with yoga somewhat
sprite, wish you lived closer, we couild do Reiki together :-)
it does, in the sense that Yoga also focuses on the energy flows in the body.
*could*
would be great, peri
well, we could send Reik to each other, sprite
*Reiki* even
we can, peri. Want me to add you to my weekly 'broadcast'? :)
fireworks :)
I don't know sprite, what would you say about me?
yay for sprite
anyone care to 'broadcast' some healing energy my way? been sick since last friday! i'll take whatever i can get!
yay sprite!
lol peri, nothing... I would just hold you in my thoughts while letting reiki flow.
of course, feather, with pleasure!
yes please sprite
thank you!
I will do the same for you sprite
With the monster kitty tonight i used tonight was a massage to see what sore points then focused on that. And no one has taught me either
sure feather
thanks peri :)
How many words today?
114
Thanks
sprite what is time is it where you are, it is 7:24 am on Sat. here
Lickety still has yesterday's puzzle for me
13.24 here
in the afternoon?
yes, an hour and a half after noon on Saturday
its' 12.26 here in the UK (lunchtime)
okay, thanks sprite
ooh sorry, just noticed you were asking sprite not in general *blush*
s'okay, Fish, thanks for the info
lol fish, nm, it is nice to know. Cute wuppie!
hehe thanks... would make a great pet I reckon. not sure the bunny would approve though!
Lickety probably been busy
I am amazed Lickety manages to find the time to give us clues so often as he does!
me too sprite, he is very generous with his time
YEs so am i
if you can "derat" why can't you "demice"?
perhaps a stupid question, but isn't 13.25 not always in the afternoon?
lol chiley... good question.
think you are right, sprite
Hi Chiley
nautical time always confuses me
lol, ok, was wondering if I was getting it all wrong.
Peri and SPrite no one taught me about Reiki i just follow my instinct
Hi Herin...and all Saturday Babblers
ok, featherbee, energy on its way to you... will repeat daily for a couple of days. You might want to drink a lot of water and if you get tired, try to rest if you can. *hug*
feather, will send energy later today, got to go, bbl
that's fine, lady. Just make sure you never give away your 'own' energy, and you'll be fine. Reiki is a healing and transformational system which has to be learned, but the energy channel is your birthright.
No i don't i just make sure its my cat only. I do tarot readings too but not for $$$ and rarely anyone else.
byee
Bye Peri
when a mother picks up her child after it hurt itself, she is passing on energy too. It is a natural thing.
That is true. You would be not surprised at how much she has altered in the last 30min.
ok, I have to go, wish your kitty the best, lady. *hugs* to all who want them. Hope to see you tomorrow morning, but not sure I can make it. Otherwise... see you guys Friday night :)
You ahve a wonderful time Sprite
Is it just you without kids?
oh definitely! Just 5 grownup (mostly) women.
Oh fantastic. No need to be at all Grown up sprite
nah, will never, LOL.

thanks br and bt, got them all now
An occasional twinge, but I will play tennis tomorrow morning and see how it goes.
It's 20 degrees F here---how about for you, Carlee and BR?
good luck
have a good game Scrabbler
We always have a blast--lots of laughing. One of the women playing with us tomorrow has been my tennis buddy since age 12. We played college tennis together. We are 48 and still slamming tennis balls against each other.
36 here ... using sun screen
no idea scrabs..all I know is I havea rabid raccoon with abladder in fection
Good for you, BR. I should too.
Uh oh, is his name Kevin?
yeap..that woudl be his name
he's had the infection for over a week
Good morning/afternoon all.
**I went out to get my newspaper** Is he on oral or IV antibiotics?
Hi Hazel!
hi haz
oral...
Hello, Haz
Hello there!
hi Haz
Hello flosey - bit of a slow grid today.
why scrabs?
Better to have just a regular bladder infection that can be treated with oral AB than a more serious kidney infection requiring IV AB
CArlee, is his urine periodically tested or can he sense discomfort?
I don't understand..I watched him do cathetar...its serile method
debris in urine... and its uncomfortable
but until he left..yes tested..ow home for good
now *
Because his bladder is not emptying as frequently and urine that is stagnant can allow bacteria to thrive.
he's drinking loads and doing cathetar every 4 hours
and gone through a jug of cranberry
People that require catheterizing regularly (4 times daily, I am guessing) usually get "colonization" of their bladders with bacyeria.
he was 4 times..he's upped to 6
Great, carlee! e.g. I saw one of my kiddoes in the office yesterday. She is 6 and has spina bifida at T10. She gets cathed 4 times daily but always has some bacteria in her urine and periodically gets UTIs
Today's Babble Medical Lesson = Urinary Tract Problems
so just increase fluids...and more cranberry?
Increase fluids to keep the urine dilute and cath more often to flush the bladder.
speaking of fluids, i have an idea. i have no medical training, but i've maintained a steady diet of lattes and chocolate and I'm quite healthy! I'm now thinking of adjusting my dog's diet to similar.
Even though sterile technique is used the urethra always has some bacteria present and they can be introduced into the bladder with cathing.
Haha, smaller! I am struggling now with deciding what to have for breakfast--protein-based (cheese, tomato omelet) vs carbo-city pumpkin pancakes which is what I am craving.
I am hoping someone will give me permission to have the pancakes.
wow! the sugar low from the pancakes might be worth it.
Granted
iatrogenics is a constant concern
hahahahaha, grant.how punny
Grant the Granter has granted me permission. TY! You now have the title of Official Babble Granter, Grant. LOL, I am cracking myself up.
do you put maple syrup on those or just butter?
i still need the nine letter word
I think just butter as I do not want to mask the pumpkin flavor.
is spinal bifida life-threatening?
brendi - oc5/12 + operatic song
Me too, brendi, and the 8 and the 7's and 13 more 6's.
oc - 9 --- atlantic pacific and diva song
Spina bifida is something people are born with Babrab
thanks, flosey and babble rabble
In utero and after birth it can be, BR---open back lesion, hydrocephalus requiring shunting, bladder infections, blood clots in paralyzed legs.
thanks flosey i got it woo hoo i have only got 52 words to go
Afternoon all. I was going to say think of a sea shanty for the oc9
Good clue, Frances.
de 8 -- fancy name for one being held for questioning or some other like reason
Hi Scrabs
Ty for clues, BR
phantom words: termite and remedy
Ah, yes, I see them clearly now, smaller
an 7 -- brit iron deficiency
de 7 -- unscheduled
Help for the na5/16 Please
De/7?
cy - add a large ice artic inhabitor> ma****e
BabRab I don't think there is a de7
still cant work out the an 7 perhaps i should be in bed
na5/16 - either Ron's widow, or Bill Sykes' girflriend
If you get the clue an7 soon, you can get to bed with a happy heart.
cy 7 (2) change penultimate vowel
stuck on the clue for an 7, BR??
ty, get the fish!!!
yes i cant work it out at all
an 7 is unsncheduled
anew
oh noooo must be bedtime for me oops sorry
Hello Haz
oh...got it..yu gave another clue before
Hello Frances - how are you?
ej 7 --- past tense of what happens to a spent shell
Freezingthanks Haz. You?
No worries, brendi, though I'd rather you type ones I haven't got.
The heating's come on, so am warming up now!
i am not sure that i have any words that no one else has and i cant sleep so i thought this was a good idea
ta 7 -- sunwork on skin and to give food or clothing: do****
thanks for all the clues, BR....still working on cy ones
oh dear. the lampshaded one is not well :(
Oh NO!
te 7 -- brit 4 pm foodfest
te 7 --- a rental estate in land
the cut had all scabbed over and the scab had fallen off so I let her out of the lampshade for 5 minutes. I looked at her at the end of the 5 minutes, the original cut was opened up again, and a 2" square section of her ear was bleeding and furless!
And now your husband is endlessly repeating 'I told you so, I told you so.'
yup!
and she has a vet appt on monday morning
Poor pooch Ata.
the fur is literally just falling off her ear :(
ouch, Atalante! got any aloe gel?
I cannot keep up with the clues, but I found many, TY
You're either going to have to get the claws trimmed, or make her wear a boot.
tenant
both equally amusing choices
Darn, as you can see I found another. ***trodding off to the penalty box, hoping to find dark chocolate**
Make that four boots Haz. Those doggy paws can reach everywhere!
yup, babs. aloe and antiseptic cream. I think that'll keep her going till monday till the vet can look see
have you tried super glue?
I think she's got mange or something else equally unpleasant sounding. or leprosy for dogs
Is there a way to thank Brandyjack for his list? I miss Lickety more than words can tell, but honestly don't think I could finish without at least having Brandyjack to help out!
we need dark chocolate "granted" in the penalty box. hint hint
Done
Has the vet not checked for those? I thought it was a cut resulting from an injury - is it from her scratching? But surely there would be more than one itchy place in that case.
hahahaha
post a thank you, ddb4nana
i agree ddb
Where?
same place you got the clues
I thought it was from a cut. It looked like it was from a cut, but now its spreading .... didnt see the vet last time, just got a collar from them. Oh, now I feel so bad. But it literally was just a cm long cut.
Don't worry too much, it'll be fine in the end.
We used te tree oil on the dog when he had itchy patches and falling hair. Worked a treat.
Make that tee tree oil.
I know ::( but my poor babe ... :(
Thank heavens it's a small grid today. I told my husband I was feeling a bit listless...(he didn't get it.)
could someone clue the last an7? not the blood disorder?
The vet will be able to diagnose properly on Monday, you'll get the right treatment and all will be well. In the meantime, I feel sorry for you. Reproachful looks from a spaniel are bad enough, a reproachful husband is possibly worse!
Harpjane, someone will do it whenever they like. (Clue here...)
hmmm
an7= whenever
an7-- man* are called but few a chosen; and the **** to strike is when the iron is hot
thanks
TY for an7, I still need de7.
timer
de 8 -- one held against his.her will
Damn. I am not using Lickety's Add Box as it isn't turning "green" as the clue list is not up, and now I am giving words away. ARGHHHH
I have that one, BR. Is there a de7 also?
no
TY, I was unable to keep up with earlier clues.
how many words today please?
are there 2 x de6?
Fireworks here. Off to make breakfast, but before I go, any clues needed?
WTG Jan
Yahooo Jan!!!
114 , I think
Yes, flosey, and they occur consecutively in the list.
je5?
thanks jan
yes, flosey--- pertaining to skin and to hold back
thanks grant
An old fashioned spinning machine.
have the hold back, not getting the skin one
Think skin doctor, flosey.
**pondering old type of spinning machine**
YW
got it, thanks jan
je female nickname
YW, flosey
je 5 -- girl the can't lose that number
I just monkeyed that, BR--is that the only je5?
I thought that was Ricki? (If I get the Steely Dan allusion.)
I have je4 x2 and je5.
Yes, only one je/5.
837-9605, or something like that.
I need a break--BBL.
je 4.9;5.24;4.9; ji4.9
can I have a w clue please?
je 5 don't change your number 867-5309
wy --- keenan wy 4
wy 4 -- add basketball or football **am
wy5 -- past tense of the last clue
we 5 -- w + a p**** for your thoughts
Thanks BR!
yw
can some one please help me with the 9 letter word
oc 9 --- atlantic or pacific and diva song
ce6?
i am a kid so can you please put thoose words in kid terms please
te6/24 please
ce 6 --c + greek letter and omaha's state
can some one please help me with oc9
pabtrek, boobies
oops wrong te never mind
Start with atlantic oc*** OK?
oc 9 -- atlantic and pacific (another name for these seas) and human limb **m and state noted for corn: *ow*
You there, Frenchie?
i am a kid so please tell it to me in terms that I understand
People have tried to, French, maybe your level of comprehension is at fault. Try for smaller words, perhaps?
You are getting clues, good ones. We can't just tell you the word. We know you are a kid.
but I have a thought that if I work with the big words first than work my way down than i will get the more little ones faster
then i will complete the puzzle faster
its just the **ean is only 5 letters
have re5/12, other re5 clue please?
In the words of the song 'It ain't necessarily so'.
i need the 9 letter word
re5/10 - what you do when the laces come undone
Right- that's the beginning of the oc9.
oh, thanks Haz
look, all i ask is to explain it in word that I might be able to understand, well at least try to
ok, French, add what your hand is attached to: **m (not the leg; the upper limb)
There are 4 additional letters in it.
You're welcome flosey.
I log onto Babble, but all I seem to hear is the grinding of teeth.
Is it that obvious, Vicuna?
that is only 8
lol vicuna!
It would be hard to miss, dear Haz!
i was lurking and thinking the same thing
Hi I'm a lurker too!
Would someone else take a turn?
But I'm being really good and not saying what I really think.
Not I, I'm afraid, grant! But I think your duty has been discharged!
Do we have a gong?
grant - it's a thankless task. Potato product, like baked product, doesn't take well to not being spoonfed.
then add a state that has des moine as its capital *ow*
Probably you couldn't spell it Haz!
take a turn on what?
that is for you french
grant you're a star.
so far all the clueas together spell oceanarmiowa
Don't have my own grandchildren
Hello people. This grid is torture without a list, I've become lazy.
frenchfry you're so close!
take out the letters that you would say if you stubbed your toe!
We need MVA - she works in a nursery!
Hello liz.
oc 9 -- the seas; + an upper limb: **m and the state that has des moines as capital *ow* ( add only the asterick letters)
hi liz. i concur
but that is ceanarmia
bj's list is up
Nice try, Fiz.
what does asterick
Anyone feel a leg being pulled?
asterisk = *
asterisk = *
an asterisk is a little star, french. Like this: *
oh
i get it
*looking in*
Hello everyone. It's been months but something looks very familiar here.. Otherwise, everyone OK?
Well, certainly hair being pulled.
THIS is why people don't like to try to give clues to you, French fry. Most people get a clue straight away, you need multiple attempts and spoon feeding and you still try to make out that we are nasty to you. Look for smaller words - you're a kid, after all.
Vic-lol
hey haz
Gloves coming off?
afternoon all
And having got that off my chest, I go into ignore mode.
look, there's a group of mi4 going after the cheese, French!
just had a call from my daughter, driving down to states to do some shopping - what a lovely morning brightener!
Hello rolin!
lol haz! i fear what happens when you *do* say what you think...
that hurt my feelings haz
hi rolin and gary!
People usually stand well back.
anyway i founf out that 9 letter word
haz is such a me5/16, no?
No, French fry. That was not intended to be mean. You have no right to play the victim when people are going out of their way to help you.
sorry my typing is bad
And a me6/21 as well.
that was nice of your daughter to call, flosey
i will just leave all of you alone
Aha, I didn't have the me6/21 spelling. Thaks!
thx haz - didn't have that one :)
good idea
You're welcome Fiz.
Now here's a me5 come on the scene: the woman who puts her poor innocent dog in a cruel heartless lampshade!
you missed the latest angst, Vi!
i will never type in the chatterbox again tanks to you guys
But there's another instalment!
good. just keep your word now
Oh no what now?
darn it. whatever shall we do?
her ear has leprosy or something LOL all the fur is falling off
parents here - be back later!
guess that me6/21 is one I need, clue please?
?????!!!!! Leprosy?
flosey, an alternative spelling of the nasty one.
lmao. not leprosy really
(ie. me5)
thanks Haz
See you Fiz.
Poor Hobbit! DOes that mean no lampshade off EVER?
Can anyone give me a clue for the TA7, please?
whatever dogs get that makes them itchy and makes their fur fall out
got it
yup, lampshade for ever ever more
ta7 - the result of sunbathing (but put a double helping of the consonant) then three letters for consumed food.
ta 7 -- sun browning and to give food or clothing: do****
ta7/28 - start with sunned skin color, end with consumed
Hobbit will be known far and wide as the lampshade dog. We're hoping for record tourist numbers.
Oh, poor poor cherub. =(
Thanks, that's the 7s out of the way!
poor darling, she's so unhappy. She's desperately full of bounce but can't run cos of the lampshade
(=() <-- emoticon of dog in lamshade
awwwww!
got to go
bye!
have to send hobbit to therapy wih one that has a lampshade speciality
Oh, bother, I should start soup for lunch. Back later, I hope. (Father-in-law still here, but I've been stealth Babbling.)
Elvis has left the building.
Afternoon all Just stopping by to say hello. Haz have you been playing with your food again!?
could be ptsd
See you later, Vicuna - hostess duties going okay?
See you later, Vicuna - hostess duties going okay?
hi fm
Hello FMitch - yes, I have a way of mixing it (the food)
byeeee Vi
LOL hello g&j and babble and Ata and all. Gues sit will be time for dessert soon?
is it me being dense or is this grid slow to finish after the first 40 words or so ?
It's a bit of a picky, poky grid, but not that many strange words.
I'm down to 9 but head is feeling very dense - perhaps should stop for breakfast
this grid quite facile
i am almost slapping my forehead when i find the words wondering how i missed them
wasn't sure if it was me or the fact the kids were noisier today
OH blame the children, seems a good ploy :)
If you can't blame the kids, who can you blame?
(Waiting for chorus of 'Blame FM!')
FM!
Im not answering that one on the grounds I might incriminate my self.
had to stop knitting was losing my place with the jolly screaming giggles going on with them earlier
Coerced blame placing is not allowed
phantom: wallydrag ... grid does a good job of sorting those
Hello there babblers everywhere ! - brb with a necessary cup of tea...
one for me with no sugar please :o)
good morning Luc
Hello montreal.
could I please have a clue for te6
coming right up g & j ...lol
te6 be about to fall over
teat 6 - past tense
flosey - you and i have same icon !!! - will get another...
Hi flosey and monty with matching icons.
te 6 --- or precedes totter
another word for a see saw is a te**** totter I believe flosey
Or it could be te6 - descriptive of the baby's bottle or the cow's udder.
Gasp, Do we send BabbleR to the PB?
That's te6/21
te 6 -- or a long list li****
Crivens, I hadn't even noticed, FMitch.
didn't realise there were 2 until now
Have you done the grid, FMitch?
crivens? you been reading pratchett Haz?
don't know what the PB is but if the foot is good what the hey
icon changed... going to fetch cuppa...brb
penalty box babbleR
No, haven't encountered Pratchett, but crivens is on a par with Jings and Help ma Boab, and other time-honoured Scots expressions.
a locale I am not unfamiliar with
guess that long list is the te I need, not getting the clue tho
I was reading wintersmith yester and there is a band on wee men who say crivens a fair bit.
Help ma Boab! never heard that one. For all you dog lovers out there buy your ppoch the edible christmas card only £5.50. Flippin heck, what will they think of next?
you get cat ones too
got to go check on dinner before Gary and kids start complaining they are hungry. bbl to finish
li 8 --- add effect if the sun and penultimate letter
later julie
We used to get Oor Wullie and The Broons annuals in our Christmas stockings. They used all those expressions and more - it was great.
li 7
should be: li 7 --- add effect of the sun and penultimate letter
How about a silver bon shaped ID tag with fau diamonds> Very nice with a purple collar? Oor Wullie and T.... my head hurts. Oh footie results coming in thick and fast Back in a mo or 3
Brain is imploding, bbl ...41 left
*bone
Brains imploding, heads hurting.... I don't know.
all a bit messy
Is it just me, or has licketysplit not been able to post todays clues?
too early for lickety's in my case at least...
It's not just you, they haven't been updated. Brandyjack's list is available from Babblers Anonymous.
non-responive to the question, montreal
in days gone by, I would have had to object
true BR...
Thanks, Haz
but meant i hadn't tried so did not know...
You're welcome, Beth.
I was just be snickety; so sorry
dont be BR...np
Nothing but disappointments! I battled my way all the way to the end of the list, just to gt the same video from yesterday., which I should have foreseen in the absence of lickety . Off to finish sudoku
What a pity, inge - but you've finished, so well done!
later inge !
BabbleR, some might say you are beginning to mellow.
Congrats inge and just to add insult to injury I hated today sudoku.
You were very patient with the 9 letter seeker earlier.
perhaps but consistancy escapes me
BabbleRabble, I mean. Fmitch wouldn't have been!
And I certainly wasn't.
But at least the glimmers are there.
We all have days when we're better than others. For Atalante most days she is better than others, hence the smugness..... no, that wasn't what I mean!
*smug*
So Haz ... did you Sainsbury or is the resolve weakening? LOL
Some days we feel better than on other days. On those days I lurk and rage and grind teeth.
the queen and duchess of smugness together in the log !!!
I'm still holding out - Sainsburys is the shop of choice these days.
Can you feel the waves of smugness? It must be like receiving reiki.
Ooo monty which is Ata and who is the other?
I know my place.
There was antipodean reiki occuring this morning.
I know, I read about it. I think Hobbit could benefit.
Ata = queen; Hazel=duchess - -this, of course, only in my VIVID imagination FM...
have te6/21, 6/18, 6/24, what am I missing please?
Wonder if it would work on Hobbits ear, failing that perhaps the lampshade could be tuned to receive Neighbours?
(I said montreal had a vivid imagination, didn't I?)
Haz - smug Oh my! Run whist you can monty, run like the wind....
see...
flosey - you're missing the hour when the English/china beverage is taken, also the te4/4 as seen on a cow.
te7/32 -s the afternoon ritual mentioned below.
Haz is just a smug minion
lol Fm...

I am not going to look at the grid, I am not going to look at the grid.

Yes you are, yes you are, yes you are.
There are 4 flosey.
youareyouareyouare

thanks Haz,
No problem, flosey.
No, shan't, nah. Actually just happy to chat for a bit and then pootle off for a while.
Just sorry I can't clue anyone.
need help plese with that ta6 tapeworm thing
ta6 - if you have te5/10 (consisting of number after nine and two vowels) place the first vowel after the t to make a new word.
Or, reverse the letters of 'to consume food' ( three letters) then a couple of vowels.
got it :) thank you Hax
i mean Haz
With a consonant in between, I should have said.
No problem.
Back in aminute or two.
I must once more joust with those dastardly windmills and subdue the perfidicious 3-legged rocks ... a pseudo heroes work is never done .. long live the rose bush

That's maybe the same thing - very fine sugar, almost like dust.
Hello peri.

Hi does anyone have a clue for de5/16 plz?
I'm needing that one too, annie
te6/24 - think of lockjaw, and if that doesn't work, run together infamous Vietnam offensive with the beginnings of a7.
dee 5/16---gods
de5/16 is godlike in status
a7/40 (for the run on to te6)
like Dr God in this game
Exactly ,inge.
Ye Gods - how did I miss that one!!!!! TY.
h'mm, just opened clue column.. is Lickety not posting today?

what is the link for bj's?
bubblepop are you there?
How do you get to Brandy Jack ?
Bab Anon, then General then Stats
de4/6 - if it began with t it would denote a period of time, especially with regards to school? In this case it's related to skin, perhaps.
ty
de6/27 please
Think skin, Sandie... like de** abrasion
de6/27 - if you have de4/6 add two thirds of frozen water, to make it descriptive.
aha - ty so much.
thanks Haz
You're welcome.

mlfan - take the sometimes vowel off your 'oops'
huh?
the letter Y is the sometimes vowel
i know that
And take it off the word you put in the chat log by mistake.
you accidentally typed a word in the chat (oops) take the Y off that word and...
what no lickety ?
i think i got that word already
no lickety
No, Brandyjack's list is the only one available.
Thanks Haz, it could be a long night!!
that's the only JI word, the other three are JE
It's a picky, poky grid, but not a huge number of really strange words.
down to "dreaded" 14 bbl to finish

means "within", say a person
i? the 0ne under the c ?
hey does anyone know why lickety's babble clues aren't updated? is there another site i can use?
means "inborn", Sandie
in6/18 naturally a part of, or in + man's name
she had the in**** feeling that her child would be a genius
We don't know why the clues aren't updated. Go to Babblers Anonymous (link under Friends of Babble) go to General and then stats - posted by Brandyjack.

Probably work and house stuff (which they are both doing) also they may be nursing a hang over due to Mr Howard no longer the Prime Miniature.
13 left, going to watch match of the day, wine and god willing will be back for the last 13
Got it.
te6/24 is a kind of muscle spasm
Last word for me: IN6/18
Robo: I don't have a ta5. I have a ta6, ta7 and 2 ta4
HI Mom of 5
herin - they're Laborites?
yeah, me too e2
hi, herin. how's it goin?
i'm sorry
i need the ta6
i got confused
or just anti-Howard? :)
it's ta6/18
I'd have spelt it Labour, but The Economist spells it "Labor" I dunno if it's just that they only spell it "Labour" when it's the British party, or what
de 6/27
No idea. But i tell you what i am dam happy
?
well, then, congrats :)
the u is definitely a British spelling
yes, I know :)
no idea
ruru: de4/6 (above it) + frozen water (leave off silent vowel)
Yes we add U to places you lot dont.
is that the guy that picked his ear and ate it herin?
has anyone clued te6/18? im back for the final 8
i'm still not seeing it. can i get a hint for t16/18?
ta6/18?
indeed. there are lotsa places where you lot add what we consider extra letters. like in the an7 in this grid that I went nuts trying to figure out how people were getting it.
Yes thank gods and hi REnnie
oh that was it.. thanks it was killing me
Yes we do that its called Queens English

yvw, ruru
I know. or king's, if HM pops off one day, instead of living as long as her mum
Then i hope Charles carks it before her.
ta + c**ter of a circle + Santa Mar**
Is there any CO words please or is it CY CE CI?
I do too. I'm not a fan of Prince Charlie
thank you mom!
my son thought HM was 100. I gently explained that was her mum, who did pass away a couple years ago, and that the confusion was due to HM being named after her mum
no co's herin
there are no 'co' words
yw, robo
THanks now i need to find them
Is there just 3 CYs?
there are 4
te6/18?
Thanks
three cy's are from the first cy word
but HM needs to last long enough for Wm to mature
now i just need the 4th te6. i have t36/18, te6/21 and te6/24. help with the last?
te6/18 is related to te5/10
with a latine ending
The only reason Charles is allowed to reign in the future was Dianna never got that signature on that dotted line
she should be able to manage that, I think. after all, AFAIK, she's never smoked (as Margaret did). it's fairly apparent that smoking (and other indulgences) is what did in the preceding several generations of men
te6 - what happens if you step on a rusty nail and don't have the right shot (injection?)
That and a good stiff drink like her mum
ty robo!
referring to HM? she tipples?
isn't that the te6/24, jwr?
you're welcome beth
The Queens Mum was. Liked her Gin.
right, robo. sorry. I'm just a beginner cluer.
an 7 clues for both of them?
that's ok :)
2nd one = whenever
an4 = a + just purchased so it is brand ***
need a clue for the an 7 that has a british/canadian spelling
an and iron deficiency in blood
anew
anemia
I've read one bio of HM, but it was a fairly laudatory one. It did have the nerve to suggest that she, mmm, played around a bit after Anne came along (tit for tat, one assumes), and could be the reason the 2 youngest aren't as horse-faced :P
anaemia
jwr, that won't get it :)
oh dear. Very Sorry.
Wrong box JWR and wrong spelling.
an7 = one who lacks iron but with double vowels in middle (not common US spelling)
Like cowmilla. Gosh i loath Cowmilla (old horse face)
need another vowel jwr
is this a rash of Typing In The Wrong Box????
several instances in the last 2 minutes
ok, guess i'll come back later for that last te6
I think so. One word was correct, the other was close (different ending)
Robo one of the TE 6 needs a vowel on the end of it
I have to agree. Maybe that's why Charlie loves her? She looks like a member of the family? :snicker:
The number after nine plus 3 vowels
Tyger tsk tsk ha ha plop fell of couch
ty lilliann -- apologies for the blooper earlier --- any chocolate in the penalty box?
at least Diana improved the looks of the future. Poor Diana. I was in England when she died
My last word needed IN6/18 - need a different clue as I am missing it tonight
Good afternoon, just got back and have 38 to go. I am missing two 7's, I have an7 x's 2, cy7 x's 2, one ej7,and on e te7. Which two am I missing, please?
how about a clue for the last an 7
plenty nan!!
I will give you a clue an* ****
I've got 83, but I'm not even trying. I don't, without Lickety
The last part has to do with a clock
i have that one, her
brain/hand/eye coordination problem: grid to Add Word to My Word List to Chatterbox .. and all permutations and combinations among ... I'm going away now. 4 to go. Later. Thanks,by
na5/10?
Oh k
i cried when di died and i didn't like camilla at first as she will never replace di but she's actually not that bad and people are now warming to her
Later JWR
N + oxygen + vowel
lilli, how are you today? I just noticed you were here a minute ago
ruru an + some time vowel + ti4/5
thanks momo.. right in front of my nose...
Lili Di was a true lady Cowmilla is a commoner
Hi Lili to
we have to remember thet they are 2 totally different people
hi herin
I consider it Charles's fault, not Camilla's. He's the willful brat
thanks Marc.. I got it finally.. oh Lickety where are you...
yw, ruru. Like I said, an* ****!
ty mom!
anyone on my missing 7's?
but I find little about her to warm to, even though it's not her fault; it's Charles's
4 left
but camilla will never be the same as di or have the loyalty from the british people as di did
yw, beth
of course she won't, lilli. nobody can forget how gallant Diana was, or how hard she tried
clue for IN6/18?
tain
the press persecuted her because she was maybe 5 pounds overweight; she went bulimic to please them. she was just an insecure teenager, trying to please
she never stopped trying to do what was wanted of her
oops, sorry
hi tyger, bad tummy today, so sent hubby out for the night, he will be back to interfer with babble shortly!!
evening all
Hi, mom
I think Charles would have married Camilla in the first place if his parents hadn't objected so strenously before he left for the Falklands
hey, mom
((Marc)) thank you
HI Mom of 5
I'm sure you're right, nan
Hi Tyger
OTOH, there'd be no Wills or Harry then
HI MOM
ce 6/21 plz?
and let's face it, Diana was in love with the idea of being a royal
Hi Herin
momo in = small hotel plus what you did when you put food in your mouth
Harry might not be a great loss, but Wills?
lol Tyger
sheesh, I finally got that last word! FIREWORKS for me!!
Nan, Di was a teenager. what teenage girl doesn't have dreams???
yay, mom5!
congrats Momof5
she just had the chance to realize them
di was too young to marry, but the royal family thought that they could make her how they wanted her to be and they couldn't....the queen didn't realise how di's death actually affected the people of our country until we went up in arms about it and that surprised her
wtg mom5!!
I was there, lilli, visiting friends
Good night all. It's been a long day for a short puzzle. Sure miss the lickety clues, but a good challenge. See you another day. *poof*
yay mom!
pleasant dreams Momof5
well, I was in the west of England :)
nite, mom5
then you know how we felt tyger!
bye mom5
yes, indeed
hey... just doing the puzzle and watching the conversation
I have close Brit friends, lilli
being entertained, cathy? :)
Harry and William are boys that had to grow up
Hi Cathy
Hi Cath
it's been really hard for the boys
I think it says a lot for what kind of mom Diana was, how well they've turned out. they could have been real brats
we were all in shock... as we never thought that she would die like that and the fact that the queen didn't say anything at the time put more fuel on the fire
Is there is just 2 DY words please
oh, yes, lilli
hi cathy
Lilian the Queen had to be all 'stiff upper lip'
ce 6/21 plz?
wherre in the west tyger?
I still think the press were responsible - at least in part
Not that I wasn't saddened by Di's death (I am British and was living west of London at the time)... I felt that the media psyched everyone up a lot, and poor ole Mother Theresa has got barely a passing mention over the years
Ce plus the colour from the sun and a vowel
I was in Bath when it happened, spent the next nite in Liverpool, and wound up ... drawing a blank (thx, old head injuries!) :( give me a minute
they were in di's death...i think
old industrial town in the north
if I was on the other computer, I could look it up in a minute

yup. I had a fiendish headache for 6 weeks, and at the time thought that was all of it. Little did I know!!!!!
na 5/10 the first na?
oh, tyger, thats terrible and thats why all your problems now?
sad but true, lilliann... they had a whole week here on one of the channels of everything to do with Diana and her life for the 10 year anniversary, and barely gave Mother Theresa a passing mention. Just seems unfair to me.
i have reagans wife 2 different ways(spelling)ruru
or na and gershwin(1st name)
it's why some of them fershure, lilli
before those I have those before grandma
Begs for help I have the DE 6 to hold but i am missing one what please if so begs for clues
me x6, mi x4 -- missing?
i don't know which one is 1st as i don't have a list.
I dug out my old BAA atlas, then my world. it is Leeds, which I now see is probably more NE than NW :P
pertaining to de4/6 herein
HI Dorens and thanks

Lilliann, our ci*** does not turn till we leave it out for several days. Does yours come already alcoholic

it always takes me longer to finish as i take more time to clue other people than find my own words or ask for clues myself!
ta + **trance + anem**,(blood deficiency)
thx inge
whoa....thanks inge, my monkey would have fallen over dead
And the ta7?
it is a diff spelling of my daughter;s name, but you dont know her.

everybody seems to be coming to the end
oh, when i've always bought it inge it's always alcoholic
yes, if you get it in Michigan
te 7/40?
hi phanmd
having to do with rental units
oh... but not necessarily in PA?
Hi Lilliann
re 5/12?
when you let a flat or house you have one of these
That must be a British thing, here they would not be qllowed to sell it without a licquor liscence
4 to go
je 5/24 anyone?
until I moved here, I had never heard of cider that was NOT alcohol!!
te 6/24 ia all I need
a girls name

we but it in supermarkets, off licences and pubs inge
is there cider that's not alcohol?
re 5: re + ***ten (another workd for glvoes)

all the cider we buy in the US is not alcoholic, it may turn on you later, but not wehn you buy it
to us, non alcoholic ci*** is apple juice
but you can purchase "hard" cider
good lord, americans could get in a lot of trouble over here!!
oops sorry
see i will keep my head down
what is "hard cider"?
ruru, did my clue help?
alcoholic
hard cider is the stuff that nas turned to wine
hard cider is fermented cider
got it ...finished now. thank you very much
but don't forget katie, you're not allowed in a pub until you are 21
thanks for the je 5/24 clue... i can't believe I didn't monkey that in with all the others!

bravo bbnaz
hi mom.how are you?
you can buy alcohol at our supers here in Arizona
hooooray bb!
Fireworks :-) ty for all the clues
Hi Mom, didnt see you come in
I was surprised at how early you have to stop imbibing whilst in England
Just dandy Lilliann, how are you?
just light alcohol in the stores here, light beer, light wine (cooking wine) light cider
Hi Inge, how are you?
the government are trying to get the supermarkets to put there prices up so binge drinking stops
sounds like Utah banana
congrats Katie
without the Osmonds though!
in Michigan all ssuer markets carry alcohol, some states do now allwo it
spewing out the nose smiley icon inserted here
wtg katie!woohoo
bbnaz, they have just changed the licensing hours last year so you can get pubs open until 4am now, most pubs shut at 2 am at the latest with nightclubs usually being 3 or 4 am
PA we only have the state liquor stores for wine and the hard stuff...
that sounds more like it. of course my hard drinking ways/days are a thing of the past
most of our grocery stores have a liquor store as well. All grocery stores sell beer
We can actually get it in petrol stations which doesn't really send out the right message on drink driving!
beer you can get in small packs in the small places... otherwise it's the big beer places where you can only get the 24 packs of anything
our drugstores carry a full line of alcoholics
I know what you mean bb, I only know what time nightclubs shut because of the young things at work :-)
feeling better now ty mom..bit of a dickie tummy earlier but better since i've been with babblers!!
some of the wine I recently tasted did taste like it came from a gas pump.
ah yes, I forgot about the drug stores selling liquor
bbnaz.. mine too... but if I have company, I am more likely to imbibe!
we can also get it in paper shops
glad your tummy is better :)
ruru, dont you drink your own stuff?
lol ruru
yes I do indeedy
I have not had a drink in 23 years. Once I found out I was expecting our son, I quit
We do a lot of offers on drink so you can get 3 bottles of wine for £10 or today one of the offers was 3 cases of 18 cans of cider for £20
did love my whiskey sours though
that doesnt taste like a gas pump product!!!
the chat is going that fast that i'm having difficulty keeping up!!am i the only one??
well company can make one awfully thirsty!
This is what the Government is trying to stop
katie - that's really good... was it strongbow?
I rarely drink hard alcohol....not my thing
mom.. i tried to make my own with the powder mixer... and had a REALLY bad reaction to it!
in college, i was a FISH
Our cider, the non alcoholic one, is sold in Gallon bottles
Yep it certainly was cathy - it's probably the only thing we do cheaper than the rest of the world!
still graduated and can remember what i learned however
oh no, I never had the powered version.
Hi, folks. It looks busy in here tonight.
lol bbnaz
{{Jacula}} hello
inge - so is ours and it's about 5% proof :-)
katie... even in dollar standards... $40 for that amount of cider is cheap!
Hi everyone
Ys, Jacula, you missed the alcoholic beverage/cider discusssion
hello Jacula. Another one of your videos today
jl
HI DR
katie.. i used to like drinking 'snakebites'
Hi DR and Jacula
My son bought me a present today - a new keyboard to replace my much-pounded six-year-old one. This one feels very bouncy!

eieios what you do on a see-saw
ta leslie. i couldn't figure out how to clue it and i am not even sipping
yeah, big sparkly things!
and congratulations on the fireworks les
Actually, not being a great fan of champers, the expensive ones (£30 plus a bottle) always taste like a vitamin C drink to me, I do like a much cheaper one that you can buy by the case in MAKRO - it's Vve Pelletier & Fils.
have you been out tonight jac as you are late tonight?
Well done, LeslieAnn.
thanks Leslie Ann
YAY leslieann!
lil - No. I've been finishing off my latest book. (Reading one that is, not writing one.)
hi again, back home and booting up the computer for the last 20 words
Hi STID!
I should really have been writing my Christmas cards and starting on the Christmas newsletter.
hey stid
I like moet and tattinger, but anything more expensive is a waste. When we got engaged last christmas we drank it for about a month straight. Need to get some more in for the wedding.
hi again stid
hi stid
evening Stid
did Lickety get the clues up since I was on earlier?
eie - I know I rhymed. I'm a poet.

Fraid not stid
oh I don't know...Cristal is pretty darn good
Yes his clues are up
yes stid
Now that really is a shame lilliann;-)
My Lickety works
goody! it's really much easier when I don't have to guess at which words I still need!
lickety
bb - is that Piat Cristal? If so, where do you get it from? It's gorgeous and I can't find it here in UK anymore.
lickety's list is up
found it.......quite glad really as 1 glass is enough for me tonight!
lil - I guess you do, yes. *grins*
i can't do any wine at all on account of my headaches
Damn! No entertainment from lil tonight then, since she's found the bottle top.
sorry I didn't realise, finished the grid on Brandjacks list but with much use of a pen and paper!
Im with you eieios. I am drinking soda
well done Katie! and of course you had all that help from hubby2b...
Congrats Katie
i'll pass it around then but not eieios or mom!
i was like that in the end katie!
i will stick with my beer. =)
Honestly one word stid and you think he had found all 114! he is going to sign up next week and then we are going to have babble races, could be concerned about the wedding if it gets competitive
That's very generous of you, lil.
DH making me watch Transiberian Orchestra

sweet dreams, Katie!
katie - I wouldn't start competitive Babbling before the wedding! What if there's a huge grid on the day? You might both not get to the Church!
when are you getting married katie?
gnight Katie
thanks. I think I tried everything BUT that, phand!
halfway for me and off to get my bath. May you all get fireworks. {{Hugs}}

te 7/32 is when your watch tells you to have a cuppa
lil - it's wuppies in Dutch. I think the name varies around the world.

ta 7 would be sun exposure for mr na** hale
ta 7: sun browning + consummed, duble the cons
i am stuck on the an 7/36
thanks again inge!
ak - an7 = low red cell count.
an 7/36 is a british spelling for iron-poor blood
an-iron deficiency in blood(english spelling)
or what Jac said
hi ak
i have seen that clue before but i am too stupid to figure it out
ak - use a Latin plural ending in the middle of the word.

thanks knitter!
jellen did you get it yet???
Nope, AK

Just back, AK

clue for je5?
je 5 a girls name
girls name
Nope, #29 is the newest on podbean, too.
No, I haven't. Hoping for a brilliant remedial clue to pop up.
ty Knitter
well i just might have that revelation for you LOL
Well, I bought some baby toys not thinking about all the recalls. So now gotta make sure they don't have lead in them.
an7/36 is when you're tired and lethargic because the iron count is too low in your blood.
think the usual american word for low blood count or tired blood.....
and add a the 2nd vowel before the m!!
i kept using the wrong a
it is (whispers) spelled incorrectly (per our brit friends) whispers (perhaps they need a dictionary) :)
OY! I heard that! Our spelling is the correct one!
nut - love the guys with the giant squirrel pic!
i am packing a case of dictionaries as we speak for delivery to england
Check the Oxford and the Collins (full versions), ak. LOL. Actually they both say the 2nd a is English and without the 'a' is US.
why you all need to go and stick in extra vowels is beyond me, spelling is hard enuf!!
However, ak - send me all the dictionaries you like. I love reading 'em. I've got loads.
It's all to do with us being an older country than you, ak. We got invaded by the Romans...
thanks jac
Many others invaded this island nation, too. It makes our language one of the richest in the world.
well kick those others out! we did
Color me confused. I just copied the Brit. spelling into the add word box and it was rejected.
What the invaders or the extra vowels?
what is the color of confusion jellen? got my crayons handy
LOL jac, all of the above
Jellen - it has a consonant not a vowel at the end. It is the condition of being iron-poor.
Confusion is purple?
Or maybe it's a kind of yellowy-red?
Duh!!! Finally got it. Thanks, AK and Jac!
That's an interesting study, actually - what colour people perceive various emotions as.
Well done, Jellen.
YEA JELLEN
Purple is my favorite color. Given my usual state of mind, I'd go with it being associated with confusion!
hi everyone
i am having trouble finding my last word
Can I beg for the last two nas 5/10 and 5/12?
na5/12 = n + what you breathe + vowel.
na5/12 is short form of Mrs. Reagan's first name.
na5/10, I meant for the breathing clue.
yellow is my fav color
it is a te6. i currently have te6/18, te6/21, and te6/24
it is a te6. i currently have te6/18, te6/21, and te6/24
Thanks but I can't even get begging right. ;) I meant 5/12 and 5/16.
hey, peeps
there are 2 x te6/18.
Hi, tyger
ok, that is a start
i now have a new icon. this is the best thing to leave england since the mayflower!!
Tx Jacula. Got it.
na5/16 IS Mrs. Reagan's first name.
that's a really cute image, knit
OOH! Shaun the Sheep, ak. I love him!
how are you tonite, jellen?
Good grief. I really am dull. That's my daughter's name!
i love shaun the sheep. we only get him in bits and pieces here
One left, te 7/40.
I'm okay. Still enjoying leftover turkey at the moment.
te7/40 = the state of renting.
Tx Jac. You give good clues!
sally - LOL. Now write your daughter's name out 50 times as punishment for not seeing it! But not in the chatlog!;)
I've got a bit of turkey, but I haven't eaten any since Thursday
can i get a hint on the te6/18, jac? i'm still not seeing it. i have the one with the latin ending
the other te 7 is what the English do at 4 pm, I think.
Yawning my head off, so I say Guten nacht to all
ta6 clue please?
Robo - te6/18 you might do this on the brink if your balance wasn't so good.
nite, inge
G'night, inge
Guten nacht, inge.
night Inge
wow, i can't believe i haven't seen that!
thank you though
robo, another word for see-saw
te 6/18 the # after nine + vowel # 3 1nd 1
The other part of the te 6/18 name is totter.
now i can relax and go feed my belly :)
thank you everyone
ta7 = a tapeworm.
te6/18: is te5/10 + another vowel
TY Jac
ta7 is an anagram of 'tea and I'.
y/w.
knit, did that do the trick?
Any more clues needed?
an7 please, jacs? ty
TO: warning, it's a Brit spelling of low iron in the blood
TO - British spelling (with a Latin plural ending in the middle) of iron deficienct state.
extra vowels, y'know :)
ty jacs
can anyone please tell me how to read that webpage for the clues?
Did you get it, TO?
MLF - which webpage?
ye ty
fan, are you talking about Lickety's page or Brandyjack's?
Or the Babble 'Help' page?
i guess brandy jacks since licketys isnt updated or wasnt
slaps forehead: I forgot the help page :P
i dont know where the clues are
Lickety updated it about 2 hours ago
http://licketysplitaus.googlepages.com /babbleclues.html
Lickety's page is nothing BUT a list of clues for all the words in the grid
well they are about the same thing i see the letters and how long they are but where are the clues?
i am soooooo done!
eek where did my icon go???
the first two letters, plus the number of total letters and the value of the word, ARE the clues
yay, knit
MLFAN, you've been told repeatedly there are no clues -- this is not a crossword puzzle
those are the clues ... MLFAN... start of word, how many letters and letter count
okay ty
knit, the new image shows up when we click on your icon, but your icon has been showing the old one since I got here tonite.
Okay - BJ's list: Words Total = 114 Total Score = 1532 points Word Sizes: 4 52 etc means there are 52 4-letter words.
how are you tonite, jilli?
i got one word since i just came back
i saw all that ty jacula
!st letter count: A 6 means there are 6 words that begin with the letter 'a'.
oh dear not only am i word challenged i am icon challenged too
Letter count: A 73 means that 73 of the grid words have the letter 'a' in them.
Did you finish, AK?
aknitter -- your icon shows here just fine
Need I go on re BJ's very comprehensive list?
hi all *waves*
Hi, jilli!
Hi, jilli. *Waves back*
okay, I just refreshed, and your new icon shows for me, knit. try refreshing your screen :)
Press F5, ak!
I think you forgot to shout out when you came in, jilli :)
We can all see Shaun!
I think I'm ready to change mine.
just got here a few minutes ago
yup, I know. I said hi to you right after the first time you spoke up. ;)
tyger, your icon is beautiful
I do think an7/40 is a bit of a liberty take as a compound word.
jill is yours inky blinky or clyde?
agreed, jac
thx, jilli. s/he is very regal, but I've had that one up for several days. I think I'm ready for baby pix for a change
jilli - I'm sure I said helllo to you earlier.
BRB
Thanks, jilli, It's not just me that thinks it should be 2 words, then?
well off to finish the laundry, until tomorrow all
I, too, agree jac, on the an7
Bye, AK
MLFAN, I have no idea! Click on it to see the story!
Could I have a clue for the an 7/40, please?

Night, ak.
Got it. Thanks, jilli!
I hope not, ML!
hi jili!

I only have 43 words -- been out all day
jill that is so cute

ti5/14 - bad sound through your speakers or headphones or 'can like'.
i didn't know they had an official name, but i used to have 2 "wuppies" on my stereo as a kid
MrP & Lickety went to a BBQ Saturday night, and stayed over. that's why there were not Lickety clues up until a few hours ago

Wonders to self what name ren plays under on Grab...?
we understand, feather. when you're hard at work on the grid, talking is not the primary focus of your attention
yup. lol, other times, i come here and blab away and don't even touch the grid!
I tend to do the grid first and chat later.
no idea, jac, but you'll note what his name is on the music site

tyger - Ren's a girl!
OOOOOPS!!!!

brb. car wreaking havoc
i know, just thought you might wonder....
badfinger were a short-lived band in UK in the early 70s. Thety had one hit single entitled, 'If You Want It, Here It Is, Come And Get It'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jWFSHw JnWo
Badfinger was a rock/pop band formed in Swansea, Wales in the early 1960s and is one of the earliest representatives of the power pop genre. During the early 1970s the band was touted as the heir apparent to The Beatles, partly because of their close working relationship with the 'Fab Four' but also because of their similar sound. However, it was the meteoric rise and harrowing demise of Badfinger that cemented their name in rock history journals. Although poised to make a significant impact on the music scene of the 1970s, starting it out with four hit singles and a number-one Billboard composition, Badfinger became victim to the worst elements of the music industry; resulting in bankruptcy and two suicides.

amble fast + 2 vowels
lol jac!
he's frazzle-free so far. such a good baby.
Hmm - feather, my second baby was a good baby. They make up for it later.
it's when he frazzles his big brother, then he'll be NICHOLAS!
But you still love 'em!
uh oh!
oh doom and gloom, jac!
daniel was a good baby too. but nick is even more so.
Hey guys, I am stuck with four left...feeling tired. Could I have a clue for the last two NAs please?
no, it will be NICHOLAS LOGAN!!!
they make up for it in spades!
think of Mrs. Reagan, Uni
both are the same girl's name
what was her name? ;) (2 spellings)
daniel soooo wants nick to be able to play. he tells nick all about the things he's playing with, and i think he believes nick is talking back when i say things for him.
Ooh, man...i got stuck on that once before too. thanks!
Not doom and gloom, at all, jilli. It's just a bit of ha, ha, ha you don't know what you've got to come stuff, like our parents did to us before we ever had kids. Am I not allowed my turn at that?
yw
lol, that's so sweet!
te6/18, either?
LOl - feather.
of course, jac, just kidding!
te* totter
te**** totter
te6/18 (1st) you may do this on the brink if your balance isn't so good.
1st te6/18 is PT of the preceding te4/4
why do i keep trying to do plurals? argh.
add another vowel to thend of the te5.10 above it
ah, ty
de 6/27 plz?
you can try latinizing the plural form on some of these.
hehe, i just wasn't doing the right kind of plural! i was trying to add an S to the see saw one though
de6/27: related to skin
skin + ic
Praise - think of the skin (epi*****s) Change the last letter to a different consonant
so then is the te7 related to the see saw?
brb, need some tea. can i get a cuppa for anyone?
ty uni, phan and tyger
yes, please. no cream, no lemon, scant tsp sugar
yes please dawg!
On that note, en6,21 and an 7,40 please? :)
nope, not related to seesaw feather.
yw, praise
which reminds me -- I need the other half of my vodka...back soon
en6/21 is same root as preceding en5. drop last letter, add a different vowel and consonant (adjective)
en 6/21 has the same ending as the et 4/5
te7.40 is more like residency
an /40 - call me an*
te7/40 relates to a renter (most common usage)
ahhh, ty. was just about to ask.
Got the en, thank you!!
how about te6/24?
lbd - I'd like a cuppa, please,. PG Tips and not too much milk.
I see the volcano is a phantom
te6/24: muscle spasm resulting from infection
i keep wanting tannery
te 6/24 = french for head - last ltr + I dont' have * candy
te6 - when you step on a rusty nail, you get a te***us shot...change the us to sometimes vowel
feather, I kept wanting that word for what's made from oak leaves (among other things)
te6/24 rhymes with a girls name.

sea
oc5/12: sea
done, feather?
oh, I see you were just answering a question
or take away the last ltr from the 6/21 after it
Oh, sorry, oc 5/12, the second?
oc5/12 = either a big sea or a word one end vowel short of 'gas' gradient.
other oc5/12 -- gas descrition minus last letter
related to 8
ta6 or 7? are they related to the ta4/4 in the middle of them?
Not related, feather.
ta6 & 7 are unrelated
first is a tapeworm
ta y's name7 - sun coloring + gu
the other is related to making leather
is ta 7 related to ta 6?
nope, jilli
evening, all!!!!
I'm so ashamed. I need the third oc 5/12. Thanks for all the clues!
hey, pam
nm -- you already answered that
LOL
stupid key board - -TE 7 is sun coloring + guy's name
Hi, pam
got the 7, working on the 6 now
hi pam!
hi, tyger
And the 2nd is sun-baked skin + same end consonant + 'consumed food'.
Hi, feather!
tape worms
how's pam tonite?
pretty well, tyger, and you?
okay, thanks
good night
oh, working off the wrong t....
ciao, phand
ta6 = ta + world's **d (think pirates movie) + two vowels
hi Pam! here feather, i brought earl grey, green tea, pekoe, and red zinger
son is sitting next, playing spades online.
night phan
pekoe, thanks!
LBD!!!
he was silent for a long time (my preference when I'm trying to talk here), then started talking back to his cards LOL
got the stinking tapeworm! thanks for spelling it out une, i was just about to ask.

ok, working on final one...
thanks, lbd, well. you?
doing okay.
got it, done!
go, feather
Yay, feather!
whooo hoooo feather!
yay, feather
Hi, pam. Finished another book tonight and started on a new one. Fannie Flagg's 'Can't Wait To Get To Heaven'. I know I'm going to like it... the opening line after 'Elmwood Springs, Missouri, Monday April 1.. 9.28am 4 degrees and sunny' was, 'After Elmer Shimfissle accidentally poked that wasps' nest up her fig tree, the last thing she remembered was thinking, 'Uh-Oh.'
te7/32
Woohoo Feather!!!
Woohoo Feather!!!
te7/32?
te7/32?
te7/32: when you're ready for a cuppa, late afternoon
jilli - 4pm snack in UK
jilli, a hot beverage + clock
oops -- sorry!
gotta go check my scrabble games now
Sounds like a keeper, Jac!!! I am loving Henning Mankell--though I can't tell if some of the language's stiffness is the translation from the swedish, or his own partcular use of language...
later, feather
I guess I get fish sandwiches with mine (crusts off please)
pam - I guess you'd have to ask someone Sweidsh about that.
sure, jilli. you couldn't know
jilli - if you don't eat your crusts you'll never have curly hair!
jilli - there's lots of fish going around today...
what kind of bread? :)
Guess so, jac, lol! It's the kind of thing that lingers under the surface as I read. Fannie--there's nothing lingering, LOL
My dad used to say "One more crust before I bust" -- not quite sure why. lol!
Apparently, Fannie is also an actress and was in 'Grease'? What part did she play, pam? Do you know? I don't recognise her face.
when I was small, I never ate crusts. later on, I started eating them. finally, in my late 30s, I got a *wave* in my hair. No curls
tyger, I know all about te7 at 4 pm!
Full to bursting, I'd guess, jilli.
well, jilli, on the "crust" thing, you know people used to talk about earning their crust
Fannie Flagg was in Grease?
didn't know that
guess I should be grateful for the wave. Most people never get anything for their crusts eaten
How veddy vulgah, jac, lol!
hey jac, could you tell i just woke up for the show?
i love fannie flagg!!!
jilli, what does clotted cream taste like??
My hair was dead straight until I got to about 45. Then it began to wave a bit and now it is having a determined attempt at being curly. 8Sigh* after all those years of having spiral perms! it's the fashion to have straight hair now! LOL
I just get fatter, tyger
i read one fannie flagg...the miracle man, i enjoyed it
clotted cream tastes like thiclk, whipped cream.
yum!
love real whipped cream
heaven, tyger, on hot scones with raspberry jam -- why?
I loved Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe
i read fried g reen tomatoes
just curious, jilli (but leave the jam off mine)
how about that bbq at the whistlestop cafe praise?
clotted cream is not sweetened like whipped cream
that is one of my fave parts in the whole book!!
and movie!!
RENNIE!
I saw Fried Green Tomatoes but didn't know it was taken from a book until I bought the book I'm reading now.
whipped cream I've had isn't sweetened, or not enough to taste
That's unusual for me... I usually read first and watch second.
don't really want it sweet
dawg!!!
i loved the movie too!
Sorry, Jac, I wandered. Fannie was a teacher or the principal, i think, in Grease.
my mom named her cat Idgie after seeing that movie!
loved the movie! TA WANDA!
I even tried making fried green tomatoes from the recipe -- also sorrel soup from Nora Ephron's recipe in - ??? - don't remember the name of the book
Hi again, nut.
I have read two of her books. She was also the secretary on Bob Newhart
I love *rich*, but not so much sweet
Pam she wasn't the principal--that was an actress named Eve Arden I believe
The Whistle Stop Cafe Recipe Bool, jilli.
making fried green tomatoes is an art. my mother did it
clotted cream is very rich, not sweet, yum
Oh, you are right, praise--that was Eve Arden
that's what I would want, jilli
I make brilliant fried green or red tomatoes and both chutney's are good, too. *Self advertising* LOL
I don't remember her in "Grease"
Go for it, tyger!
Eve Arden was WONDERFUL!
she is the significant other of another author
jac!!!!! Chutney's???????
but can't remember her name
fannie was the nurse in grease
Rita Mae Brown I think
it was a bit part
ty ren
Chutnies?, jilli.
anybody need clues?
Fannie was Nurse Wilkins in Grease--did some searching
i need a bandaid
it was just about the grocer's apostrophe, jac, lol
imdb is a great resource, isn't it, pam?
No matter, I have both red and green tomato chutney, bottled(canned to your lot in UK) on my shelves in abundance.
praise--who is whose sig other?
te 6/21 plz?
Yes, tyger, it is! Wiki didn' t list who she played
Fannie Flagg
ra 6/18, please?
I've learned to go straight there, now :)
i must say i have never aquired a taste for chutney
she is Rita mae Brown's sig. other
EEK! I did an extraneous greengrocer apostrophe! *Flagellates self severely*
te6/21: PT on te4/4
i love a nice pear and apricot chutney
I didn't know she and Rita were an item. Good for them
ra + parts of a fork (ti4,4)
yeah I just heard that recently pam
an 7,36??
I like many chutneys, especially one made by a friend of mine who lived in India for a while and which involves peaches and many other mysterious ingredients (she won't talk)
ra6/18: ra + (letter to make pest) + salt*** cracker
ra6/18 = ra + forkl prong.
ty, uniquity, tyger and jac
an7/36: iron deficient (british spelling)
yw, jellen
tyty
I don't get the clue for the te 6/21
jilli - I'd love to sent you a couple of jars of my chutney but they'd probably be probed and blown up by airport authorities!
my brit friend is a great cook, jilli. he loves to make chutneys (and other stuff)
jac -- we all slip sometimes -- I did an incorrect it's in a book I did for the grandkids. Oh, the shame!!!
re 5/10, please?
LOL jac! Maybe tasered?
te6/21 - having an udder of 4 danglers.
te6:/21: te + I'm ** the store + books need **itors
ty jac
thought I had tried that
1st re5/10: make a knot again
re5/10 = to do your shoelaces up again or Spanish river + childish British thanks.
oops, only one
ty, tyger and Jac
I'm having fun but still need 43 words...
ri 5/10?
yw
Kepp on asking then, jilli. It's Saturday night... I don't have to be up early later.
ri5/10: spanish word ri + I'm ** * loss
ty, tyger
yw
ta 6/18?
how about re6/18, since there are no plurals?
re6/18: keep
ta6/18: tapeworm
If I suddenly get things wrong and type and F4 word followed by the word 'off' in capitals here... it's because the mad neighbours have phoned/knocked on door/ shouted over garden fence/invaded through side entrance to say they can smell cigarette smoke again.
mercy buckups, tyger
te6/24?
yw :)
re6/18 is what you do when you hang on to something or keep it.
OMG, jac!!!!!
te6/24: what your muscles do with what you can get from a rusty nail
ty, tyger
yw
Yes, jilli, it's that bad! I wish they'd move.
need more, dan?
So do I -- to perhaps China?
they'd get lots of tobacco smoke there, jilli
oc 5/12, the last?
last oc5/12 a set of 8
like Beijing -- cigarette smoke, smog, dust storms from the Gobi desert....
Thanks, tyger.
yw, jellen
Done!
sorry thank - was distracted by the Incredibles
yay, jellen
yw, dan
Aren't there 10 million bicycles in Bejing? I kept hearing that song when we were in Amsterdam for my 50th birthday. They have multi-storey bike parks there.
but they're also buying cars like crazy, jac
I think the bikes are past history, jac
the 2 me 5's plz?
1st me5: alternate spelling of preceding me6
2nd me5: adjective form of preceding me4/5
jilli - we get debris from the nearby bypass and the M5 motorway. Smog was once an issue here but isn't now.
hey, I don't have the me6!
oh.
me 6 and 5 are what you call someone who isn't nice
me6: an unpleasant person, a name often used by kids
no smog here in paradise *smug smirk*
need more?
me6 is a nasty person in the playground!
very good, jac :)
oh lol, I had the alt spelling -- now have both, duh
I can't help being slick, tyger. LOL!
how about the me4 and 5 after those?
LOL
animal protein, jilli
me4 = flesh. me5 adds the sometimes vowel.
and the adjective, often used in commercials for pet food
we make a pretty good team, jac
thanks -- I see the sometimes vowel substiutes here for the snake quite often
ty got them
yw
WSe will be eating a leg of lamb later, that me4 and flesh. If you've ever worked in farming with sheep, you will know that they are so stupid that you just love yelling 'Mint Sauce!' at 'em.
We do, tyger!
never been around sheep
well, I see jitney is a phantom *dons thinking cap*
I know they're stupid, tho
LOL jac!!!
but the little gambolling lambkins are so CUTE!
when we don't give identical clues, we give ones that tend to be very complementary
oh, are they ever, jilli
I used to love reading Essie Summers novels.
yes, jacutyger is a great combo
I've got a nearly complete set, and sheep are a feature in many of them
True - and they're very cuter when they suck greedily on he botles of milk yopu give 'em... but only 3 sheep in 30 herds are intelligent. See UK TV series Shaun the Sheep'. LOL
so that's what that Shaun the sheep thing was about earlier?
Cows and pigs are much more intelligent.
Summers emphasized how much hard, dirty work was involved
I know that pigs are smart, but farmers (including family) have always told me that cattle are dumb, too
Salt Spring Island (here) is noted for its sheep and delectable lamb. I have a friend who was still handling a sheep farm by herself at age 82
Sheep work, tyger? dagging, pouring sulphur on to get the maggots out of the feet and or body? And much more.
chickens. now THERE'S a dumb animal!
wow, jilli. that takes nerve, at that age
Nightmare stuff that! I love roast lamb!
hey, harp!
I didn't see you come in
you said "was" jilli. is she still around?
Chickens can be v. stoopid! But not all of them. Lovve roast chicken though.
I like my chicken fried (peel off the skin and batter) :)
we always had chickens when I was a kid, and often ducks, once geese, and once guineas. now guineas are stoopid!
I like my chicken roasted. (Leave skin on.)
geese are pretty smart
yo, jilli!
Ducks fight back if you try to carve them. You just need to use shears to cut them into 4.
got your head down in the grid??
You cannot wring or break the necks of ducks or geese, btw, so don't try.
one word left!!
go, praise!
And, if you should chop the head off a chicken, don't get too freaked when it dashes around for a while the body of it) afterwards.
she one tough little lady, about 90 lbs -- ex-Brit, posh, would you believe? Finishing school in Switzerland and all that. Now living in a town near a daughter, sold the sheep farm and the pesticide-free golf course. Amazing fun person, good bridge player, more...still does yoga every morning, standing on her head!
my father always beheaded our birds
how old is she now, jilli?
Incidentally, after a human beheading, it takes 3 or 4 mins before their consciousness goes.
86 I think, tyger
did one of them tell you that, jac?
how do they know (about humans), jilli??
oops, jac!
ask jac, not jill, lol!
LOL, jilli
jac, how DO they know???
whee that's fireworks for me! thanks all cluers
jilli - that's the neaurolgical survey info. When your head gets chopped off it takes a while until 'cut off'.
neuroglogical, I meant.
congrats dan
how many words do you have left, jilli?
yay, dan
Just back from watching Jason Momoa videos. Should I go back?
YAY dan!!!
Congrats, dan!!!
te 6/18
Jac. You are an encyclopedia in human form
plz?
the last one
Yay, dan
No that's not right spellikng either, but you know what I mean. Your head gets severed. It doesn't register that it has been right off...
31 now, tyger -- hard to concentrate, lol!
te6:18: first half of a see-saw
praise, the other half of a totter, or the latin plural of the te5
latin pl. the 5/10 before
Jell - Did lickety show my Jason vids?
WaaaahOO!
I still can't see how they can be sure, jac
tyger I have that one
I had heard that about human decap--and chickens running around with their heads cut off, well, is an expression based upon a truth....
need the 2nd one
He showed one today, Jac, and I've been following the links.
I think it's time for me to take a break. my back is ouching
later, peeps
tyger - they run tests on brains and nerve systems after cut off. The can be sure.
ok, going back to the earlier gaps -- the first de5/12?
Praise - latin pl. of the 5/10 before
i know someone who raises emu, and they do the same thing as a chicken when you butcher, only they are 6 feet tall!
jilli - take the oxygen out of
bye tyger -- rest that back!
ouching is NOT a word, but I do know what tyger means and her word will now be entered into the babble chatlog dictionary.
de=O2
Oops - de+O2
whoo hoo
done finally
ty for all the clues
ach, stupid unword but thanks
I llove the way the English grows and mutates.

YAY praise!!!
oh, it mutates alright, LOLOLOL
take care all
Yay, praise

Going back to reading Marley & Me. Happy Babbling, all!

en6/21
bye, jellen
darn, inny isn't a word
i tried it too, jill!
en + first vowel + blood-sucking pest.
i guess it means the state of being en5
thanks jac
Right, it's 3.49am here and I've smoked 2 cigrarettes in the study/office with window open as neighbour hasn't bothered us again ... yet. 3.30am was latest doorbell ringing interruption time they did.
ok, I give up -- no volcano so what's the et4/5?
other Half went to bed ages ago when he saw me with a glass of wine in hand and signed into Babble. He's seen how much the neighbours have stressed me out.
jac, they are incredible!
e + blood-sucking pest, jilli.
hah, got the et4/5 -- then saw your clue, jac, thanks
why on earth are they ringing your doorbell at that hour?
Going to light another cigrarettem IN MY OWN HOME again now. With office window open.
bonkler, they object to cigarette smoke in somebody else's house
bonkler - she is epileptic and so smells and hears things that aren't there and he's a knuckle dragger who'd baclk her up[ no maytter what.
hi babblers
hello april
i think the appropriate response to that rhymes with truck cough
any help for the na 5/12 and 5/16 (my last two)
bonkler -- I did say earlier for you all to excuse me iff I get caps lock stuck anbd say 'go forth an multiply'. When the knuckle dragger rang earlier I just grunted at him and put phone down.
na5/16 is Mrs Reagan and the 5/12 is the same with a diff last latter
april, they are both female names, think of mrs reagan, and spell it differently at the end.
Doh! thanks jili, got em, firewords
YAY April!!!
now I can go back to the party, thanks!
But, in the week when it's the 4th anniversary of my Dad's death and P's Mom is due to havbe a mastectomy on Monday... I don't need all of that neighbour crap.
I have lived in this house for 27/28 years. I've had 4 sets of next-door neighbours in that time, none of whom smoked, and none of whom ever complained about smoke smells, even new ones until recent new one, whose epilespy drugs still aren't sorted properly.
I've never had any problems with neighbours since this pair moved in, either.
hi
WShen I get really stressed, I get light-headed, often get a hugh buzzing noise in one ear and a pulse over left eye starts twitching. All of those, since I am a laid back personm, don't often happen all at once. The eye pulse hasn't begun yet...
can some one please give me a clue on the 8 letter word
Hello,l, French.
add two vowels to the de6
de8 = one who is impronsoned.
hello jacula
imprisoned.
what does impronsoned mean
Sorry! Getting used to new keybaord. LOL
Sorry! Getting used to new keybaord. LOL
Anyway, de8 = one who is imprisoned or held back.
i do not know what the de6 word is yet
and how can you tell what the letters are for the numbers
de6 = to hold back.
Letter for numbers? de6, for instance, means the word begins with the letters 'de' and has 6 letters.
de6/21 means that the word begins de has 6 letters and is worht 21 points.
Go to 'Help' tab above for word score hep'.
i thought that meant that , that was how many words you could make out of it
4-letter word = 1 x Points 5-letter word = 2 x Points 6-letter word = 3 x Points 7-letter word = 4 x Points 8-letter word = 5 x Points 9-letter word = 6 x Points Example: Word: BABBLE Points: 3 x (3+1+3+3+1+1) Total: 36 pts.
i got to go... see you guys tomarrow maybe
just back from heating some soup -- back asap to get my last 24
you didn't need that, jac, when you were being so helpful
hello, does anyone need clues?
Oh well. such is likfe, jilli!
Hi, harp.
hi jac
I meant life, jilli. Not used to these new, fulll of bouncy life keyboard. LOL.
soup's hot -- back asap -- 21 left now
I knew what you meant, jac -- my fingers slip all the time as you may have noticed
how are things on your side of the oc5, jac?
harp - someone out there may need clues, inthe interim can you batter my nieighbours to death?
Finem, harp, except for it being the 4th anniversary of myh Dad dying on Friday, and Other Half;'s MUm having to have her right breast removed on Monday afternoon (26th Nov.)
yikes that stinks jac, my dad died so long ago it almost never hurts any more, but i still notice that i'm extra crabby on the anniversaries (27 years even)
Oh, and mad neighbours ringing, knoc, king etc to complain about cigarette smoke smels from our house.
harp - 27 years heals it? I still think about m y Dad at least once a day - but often without tears noe.
To be honest, I think (imagine) that the loss of a loving parent is not a loss that will ever actually be overcome, just dealt with.
no, you just get used to it, it's never healed. Things never get back to normal. You get used to the new "normal"
if i was there i'd set your neighbors straight--i'm low on estrogen these days so i almost always win !
Harp - thanks for your support. You don't know how much that means to me!
well it's a little oc5, thanks to babble!
You've made me strong agaiin, harp!
i'm trying to win at the difficult level of spider, can't do it tho
If spider is a game, I'm fraid I don't klnow it. Sorry!
it came with windows xp, along with solitare and a few other games
Is it the one where ou have to get the web complete, despite wasps etc? If so, I know that game.
no, it's a card game.
i'm going to sign off and read for a while. see you at the flip, probably!
I got to level 4 on that, whicch is all freee levels allowed.
'Bye, harp.
I'm still here to clue now, since still can't slep but I may go off to youtube to liksten to fave old 70s rock stuff.
Any requests for old rock vids afore I LEAVE?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PetrAmq 9fcw
None that I see and so, goodnight, friends!
http://www.whirligig-tv.co.uk/tv/child ren/robinhood/robinhood.htm
