That's great, Xan!
We haven't had hardly any bad weather. A big scary clap of thunder that was it
Lots of teachers have resigned, ha ha
hi jill
Xankia LOTS of Victorian teachers are going else where like interstate due to shite pay
HI MLF
hi mlf
Herin, I worked in NSW until the beginning of this year. You don't need to tell me about the pay! My husband is also a teacher and it means $20 grand to us less in Vic.
it 7 if not called
For doing the same thing!
WOW move to NSW
lol there are more te words than there are re words lol
If i wonder off sorry. I have had a horrid day. I had a panic attack at the store. I still feel all shakey from stupid cold
Hubby would move back in a flash! My Dad died 12 months ago and my Mum and sibs are here. They need me
We still have a house we can't sell in NSW and are having to rent here
Xankia that is hard
I am staying in Vic because my family are more important to me than money (I can't believe I am saying that!)
lol xan, gfu
Xanika that is fair
We could even walk back into our old jobs in NSW
n 6/18 please

Hi dc, miss babble....
hi Ms Babble
Gosh i may leave soon i feel craptastic

DC how are you
I got my first 8 on my own yah
can't see!
alright. looking fwd to days off tomorrow and tuesday
cyb any idea on the n 6/18?
Yah. DC that is great
hey mlfan, I don't have that n6 but pls also be aware that usually clues aren't given in the first hour - just a custom, not a rule
just reading back in the chat about the low pay in certain areas -- up here it's called the sunshine tax
gosh this puzzle appears to be easier than yesterday
n6: one who catches fish w/out line nor spear, MLF
cyber, does that mean you get paid less because the weather is better?
the sunshine tax?
CYber The essential people like teachers, doctors in clinics, nurses, police, ambos and firefighters get stuff all pay?
got ti ty
that and because this is a resort area and so many wlll take a lower salary to live here.
Victorians are the worst paid in Australia
are the clues up?
Victoria is definately not great weather or big on tourism
huh. I live in one of the more highly-paid, and expensive, parts of the states. Teachers in my region got 50-60K more than ones in the SW part of my state.
then come to western australia - we need teachers
yes, miss babble, they are
when I lived in Vic xan it was the cheapest, esp compared to WA
I love Vic. Hi Tanja fellow ausie
en 6/18 please
I love Victoria too (born and bred here)
hello (waves back)
I love Vic too, the nights are cool!
hi Tanja!
Tanya, I believe they are trying to entice teachers to WA with great pay
I love were i live its great
yeh but good pay means you can afford air con
where's that herin?
It's a bit far away from family though!
yes they are - lots of schemes
They are trying to get people to move to WA with big $$$ incentives
Still wouldn't get me to move there though
but were a lovely bunch lol
Now that everyone has had a look out of my window at about 4 pm this afternoon I shall go and get my favourite colour...
my husband likes it here, I'd rather be on the east coast
Jill that is lovely pic
parts of the great plains here in the States are giving away land and offering high pay - for there - to get people to come.
Ossie, where are you?
it's as white as your pud herin
Its WA its like me wanting to live in NSW or SA not going to happen
Clue for ab7,40 please
is it still snowing, jilli?
wow, jilli -- you got a lot more snow than we did!
gee i got the 9 letter already
thanks herin but it's not so lovely when the power goes out and you're stuck in the house!
one who ab4/6, mis babble
Thats what chocolate is for Jill
ab7,40
past tense miss babble
having ab4/6, miss babble
dc, I think it has stopped but what next? We're supposed to get lots of rain (thank you, fran in Hawaii) and I hope it doesn't become snow -- I'm on a high hill
Im confused
miss b just keep guessing on that one i got it by accident lol
oh come on TITTED or tited is a word
ab7/40 is past tense of ab4, to assist in a crime
i agree, lady, but it is enable after all, so i shrugged and moved on. :)
but i want titted :( spoil sport
yep got its..thnx
ab 7/36 clue please

CBP?
Fran i will do scrable when my brain is engaged
Customs & Border Protection
no problem infernal. :-)
Both my help desk, and the one we're colocated with are contractors to CBP
we work on the Customs side of the house. She's from the ICE - Immigration and Customs Enforcement - side.
Ok Hello CBP person DC really is working (snicker snicker snort snort)
she's barely awake. Brian, the usual guy is insomniac, and generally alert, or downing a large coffee
i'm sure dc has his best "i'm really busy with this important computer stuff" look on. :-)
as always. :)
not that there's any work for me to do, but i can act
the cat is a hand-made jewelry item made in France from baubles-and-bibelots.com
glass, cloisonne, or jewel?
I posted that snowfall pic in my flickr batch
cool, what's it made out of? lapis lazuli?
or other is a possiility
cool jilli, nice shet
according to the site it's made of galalith which takes the hand-painted color "beautifully"
actually dyed and polished
very lovely.
lol, whatever galalith is. i guess some kind of stone?
i will put one on my Christmas list, i really like that cat!!
they say heavier than bakelite, which I'm not familiar with either
used to make telephones out of bakelite!
the word is formed using the Greek words for milk and stone = milk stone - that was used in the nineteen twenties and thirties as a jewelry stone . it's a plastic
my mom has several bakelite pieces that were her mother's, grandmother's or great-grandmother's
my google-fu was strong :)
lol
got to go, have fun all! bye
cbp person is napping LOL so much for overlord monitoring :D
bye mva
ciao, MVA, have a great day!
bye mva!
bakelite items are hot with collectors, especially vintage stuff.
i am sorry i am not really here
yeah. so are trinkets like the Betty Boop and Bobo, with chain as leash, pin that my mom has that her mom got out of a box of cracker jacks in 1932.
all good lady, you need rest, and water.
yeah, you rest infernal
cool dc! (re: cracker jacks stuff)
ok, time to go, nite all :)
apparently very few have survived with the chain intact. *shrug* my sister and i will photograph and catalogue all the jewelery come Spring. we should get some of it appraised.
g'night muse!
I really want to think. I really do. My stupid brain. I tell you all i am nearly in tears about nothing
...What do you want, when you gotta have someth'n and it's gotta be good and gotta have it now......
rest and hydration, lady.
night muse!
):
hi mary!
gah! that's familiar, and i can't place it! BAD marar! LOL
hi zombee!
guten morgen
Hi everyone. The Cracker Jack comment sent me in a time warp! Thanks for that memory!!!
Guten Morgen ihr Lieben!
haha hellooo
is that from cracker jacks?
Yes!
Hi Zombie and Marmar
as a teen, i sold peanuts and popcorn in a baseball stadium. People would ask about cracker jacks, but we never carried them.
hi, zombee
old commercial jingle. Hi Lady.
hello lady
hello dcs (:
yes, that much i could dredge, marar, which was the product, please?
Oh my goodness, getting that prize out of there was EVERYTHING! DC, it's the old Cracker Jack jingle!
hahaha!
oh, duh! LOL :D
http://tinyurl.com/ypfw48 has info, and some nice photos, of early galaith
Apparently Coco Chanel helped popularize it.
purl is knitting. that's why perl doesn't work :)
blip
ah, yes the 2 AM blip :) i'm still not fully used to it.
hello, banana, how r u today?
hahaha blip to you too (:

it was quick
i want snoww
hi fran!
yeah it was
wherebouts are you sombee?
it's very hot and humid where I live. but particularly breezy today
haha singapore.
told you he's a brat fran...lol
lol nana
andree's son used to babble from Singapore, but he moved back to Australia
last Thursday we had wind that stripped all but the Oaks of their leaves.
so we went from fall color to bare in a day
wow, that's too bad dc
ah
yeah, thouh Fall is later than it used to be. Growing up, trees were 80% bare at Remembrance Day.
did the cherry trees blossom already? or am i totally off on the timeframe?
poor trees must feel so naked hahaha
Is it really sad that you have to check up on a friend as they are known liars
last year, some did at Xmas, but usually that's between 23 mar and 5 apr, with 1st wk of Apr being avg, though they're earlier than they used to be.
i was awed the 1st time i went to see them; they're really quite lovely.
lol, so i am TOTALLY off!
that is sad infernal
yes, lady, but one learns to adjust by having fun working with others to make them squirrel out of the lie. > :D
She is a known liar and i was checking up via online stuff to see if she didn't lie
any hoot brb dinner
njoy, lady
Wait--why are you friends with people who lie to you? I mean, sheeeeeesh
okay. goodbye ladyyy
in my case, not friends, but she's in my social circle, and married to a friend.
well sometimes you befriend people for their good qualities. I guess the lying just got in the way
She either has more time or more patience than I do--probably both
great icon, samantha!
hahaha very honest of you! (:
Oh, yes, and sometimes people are in social circles that you can't just gracefully leave. And thanks, I love my icon too :))
haha yeah that's a cute icon
hi sam!
it's 2AM here. It's neen nice talking to you all, and I must go to bed
Hi Fran! Sorry to have missed you, but I must get some sleep
alrighty then. goodnight!
Night all
night sam!
at least the words make sense in this grid...lol
i googled that ra8, and i find no definition, though morewords says it's valid.
hm? do tell.
mostly banana, yes
oh, enable has some odd ones. Morewords is a Xword tool, and says the ra8 is valid, but i'm guessing an OED will be needed for a definition
dc, how many ra8s are there? are you talking about the rodent related one?
yes, the rodent one
i just assumed it was one who ra6s. :-)
hold on, I'm busy drawing a blank
lol zombee
that RA6 is a proper noun am Deutsche according to Google
hey dc, you should be pleased there are two words that are similar to your round tuit in today's grid. :-)
but no lert :(
nerts works
not today though..lol
i know! i often lose mine around 1:00 am
You must have a roof in french

hullo HIL!
wow, jilli, that's a lot for over there!
jilli, that snow you got is too pretty to be a nuisance. :-)
fran, I was being obscure -- french for "must" is there, also french for "roof" (I think)
that's really thick! and you have a pirate name??
ah, yes, i have a roof in French. ty, jilli, i learned something :)
took me an hour to shovel the snow out of my hammock... lot of work for a little snooze
zombee, every one has a pirate name, just as everyone has a drag name. *snap* where HAVE you been. :P
lol, hi babrab!
lol dc!

First pet and first street you can remember
ooh infernal, that's an awesome pirate name!
Zombie i think that one is for porn star or stripper in polite circles
cool nana!
It is
Jill that would be a great name
lol herin!
1st i can remember would be Courtney Arlington, but i think Amos Bakersfield sounds better. :D
hahaha
Dc that could be a drag queen name.
Hi all

hi chinger
Lucy Loosebox is hilarious! :D
Hey Jilli, up here near Qualicum my back fields look just like your pic...14 inches, did you catch the news with the disasterous Malahat?? YUCK!
hi chinger
sgams, my inlaws live in comox
DC she is an absolute crack up.
(:
Nice, Comox apparently got hit bad too.
yes, sgams -- that road is scary! And what about the Sea to Sky and the coming Olympics!
haven't talked to them yet, but my mom was telling me it was bad
I love Courtney /comox nice people up there
i like qualicum...lol
Oh Jilli, I can't even IMAGINE!
love the beachfront
WHy can't people drive carefully i dont get it
My former bridge partner moved from here to Courtney near her daughter -- on the road to Mt Washington where they must have liked the snowfall!
did they close the sea to sky too?
Ya, Qualicum is pretty picturesque, not tooo keen on the amount of complainers there though, sooo many, always something.
I think for a while, nana
i haven't been on the sea to sky since they started the upgrades
well, they say Salt Spring is an argument surrounded by water...
Well, tomorrow will most likely be even worst with flooding and rain rain rain
Salt Spring is beautiful too
I've NEVER been on the sea to sky!
Jilli, speaking of bridge, you may find this of interest: http://tinyurl.com/yu5emd
it wasn't a bad highway before, you just would get stuck behind all the slow people and no where to pass them....hence accidents when people would take risky chances to pass
Really, never heard that about Salt Spring. Jilli, have you been to Tofino?...if so the hwy, between Port Alberni and Tofino, is basically the same, windy, curvy, hilly etc
kind of like how the Vancouver Island highway was before they built the new one
Are you here too Banana?
can't be too careful passing on two-lane roads. :\
moved from North Vancouver to Edmonton 4 yrs ago
Ah, now I have a brother in Edmonton
And we moved over here 10-11 y ago from Richmond
much quieter on the island
And to think with all this damn snow...my 16 yo son thinks his going to drive in MY car in it! mmmmmm not on my watch he ain't!! Yeah, Banana we love it here...will never go back
we're just south of edmonton and we're liking it here so far
SGAM make him walk
You got it Herein!!!
not enough water though...lol....I like living around the water
i had driver's ed at 16, on icy roads after school had reopened from being closed a week for snow.
good time to learn, if nerve-wracking for the instructor.
YIKES dc
just went to that site, dc -- very interesting -- I've bookmarked it. We play friendly duplicate here and KISS!
scruffycritter is my friend Joe - i play with him sometimes, but he posts about his playing often. There's a follow-up on that one dealing with the awarding of the master points.
gtg every1

hav a great time finding words
Banana, my nieces are in Beaumont, thats South of Edmonton right?
yeah, that ra8 is weird
now i really have to get to bed...lol...goodnight again ev1
Bye el

See you tomorow el
Bye Elrox
Late hubby and I played a bit more seriously back east. When I got here the local club was ACBL but gavev it up so no more points. It's still fun though.
Yes, I gotta hit the hay as well, no 4am tonight for me...poor Clancy cat has to go get poked and proded again tomorrow at the vets. Lord knows what meds he'll have tomorrow
Night SGams
g'night sgasms
night night all
night night sgams
i play friendly, though i should join ACBL, since that's what he plays. Long as i'm playing w/him may as well earn points.
nana, I think I mentioned that I have a nephew and his super wife who live in Edmonton? They are retired lawyers (and email good lawyer jokes) and I wish they would move here but they seem to like it there in spite of the weather
night sgams
May i ask.....wats the differnce if yur a member or not?
members earn Master Points, non-members do not, miss babble. ACBL is the American Contract Bridge League.
member of babble, miss?
No!
this is my dad's account. :x
What do you mean MS bable?
good morning
Hi Flosey
hi flosey -- couldn't sleep?
flosey -- did your power go out?
did indeed Jilli - with no power, dark here, went to bed at 5:45 pm - got 7 beautiful hours sleep
yes Jilli I think shortly atter lunchtime here
when did it come on?
mine went at about 4:30 -- came back about 8:30. I wrote Xmas cards by candlelight and had a cold supper.
well, I didn't feel like eating, was feeling crummy, so slept like a log
I hate REs
Flosey and Jill what about a generator?
flosey -- I posted a pic I took out of my window in my flickr batch if you want to see
hullo flosey
herin -- this is very unusual. Back east we had a generator.
ok
?? franmag left?
we do have a generator, pretty heavy duty one, because of 3 freezers, and need it for the water pump, etc but we don't put it on until we know it's off for a while
:I
we live in a rural setting, on a farm, with a well, so makes a difference
zombee -- fran's been having connection problems
generators are noisy and I love the eerie peacefulness of absolute silence when the power is off
Frans got her usual stupid hour of conection
Flosey is it all dark and snowy?
yes, back east we were on a well too -- no power, no water and that's really tough. We also sometimes had puppies which have to be kept warm. Hence the generator there.
ohhhh. thanks jilli.
yes, but it may be raining now,
HIL- hahaha
sure is melting fast, last time I measured, midafternoon, we had over 6" of snow
Brrr
hey, that's a good shortcut for herinfernalladyship! HIL!
flosey -- did you look at my picture and the birdbath mound?
IS there a RE 8 please
Jill i much prefer herin
love your icon Jilli - guess I'll just have to use a darker shade
ok herin, herin it is
ok herin -- and no, no re8 but lots of re6es
and I'm going to dive into this grid, see what I can come up with, with be back from time to time
(:
thanks
ahahaha

dc, do you ever play bridge at Yahoo? or Bridge Base?
i used to at yahoo, but haven't in a while
don't know bridge base.
te 5 -- when it ***ns it pours
it can be quite frustrating with table hoppers, etc but I have a few regulars I play with
I play bridge at tinker toys are us
what name did you use in Yahoo, if I may ask?
dcseain. i'm reasonably consistent online
morning all
ok
hello, sprite
good morrow, sprite!
hello Sprite
this grids 5.39 length per word is one of the highest I recall seeing
HI Sprite. I was trying to get feeling back in my fingers
good point babrab, i only just noitced i'm at 5.35, and hav found most of the 4s and 5s.
BabbleRabble, your profile text is exactly what my physiotherapist told me! Rather recent findings about how trauma affects cortisol levels.
good to know
Hello SPrite
it is. And it is nice to see that my confidence in what she tells me is supported by other researches as well.
hi lady
explains to some extend the chronic fatigue
hello again peeps!
sigh
hi sprite!!
rehi dc, babrab and infernal!
Fran did you lose the net again
aloha, Fran
it does. The study in the Netherlands has shown that cortisol levels are lower than usual in traumatised persons, but if their panic buttons are pressed (which usually happens too easily), the cortisol production goes skyhigh and does not stop for a very long time, then drops back to too low a level.
hey Fran :)
no, i was doing other things on-line infernal
Ok. Ill do scrable when i can think
tsk tsk tsk, Fran. ;)
do you take a look at the coping rules now and then, sprite?
very interesting babrab and sprite, have copied the article in your bio babrab, will read later
hullo fran
hi flosey! hi again zombee!
Hi there Fran
hahahaha btw how many words do you have now dear flosey
quite often, actually, BabbleRabble. They help me to keep perspective. I also notice that understanding the mechanism of those panic attacks and in-between fatigue helps me coping with them. I am one that needs to understand before she can accept.
hi Zombee.
power was off here Fran, so I went to bed at 5:45 pm - wide awake at 1: after good 7 hour sleep
hullo, sprite!
man i love your icon. so cute
woot flosey, that sounds like a good rest! Hope you feel better for it :)
thanks :D
that's true of several people i know sprite, and i think that makes sense. *hug*
SPrite can i as something. Do panic attacks leave you feeling fatigued and odd feeling?
I'll get a good rest when God gives me 6 more hours in a day
I'll get a good rest when God gives me 6 more hours in a day
wow! that's great flosey!
except you
except you'll probably fall asleep at around 11 am again. :-)
good that you got sleep flosey, and you'll find your way back to a regular schedule soon enough.
drained and kind of otherworldly, lady. Like being a stranger on this planet. Feeling passes after a while, fatigue lasts longer.
Ok not cool but that makes sense to me
may do Fran, but yes, may nap today, but man-o-man I feel great
poor Zombee... too many interesting things in life to allow yourself enough sleep?
I seldom get straight 7 hours
the massive adrenalin rush is quite tiring
my major exams just ended recently...sleep can wait
hahaha
yeah, school's like that, zombee.
flosey, i hear you! I haven't slept undisturbed since my first pregnancy
Zombee, hope you did well in exams
well, the results won't be out till early next year... but thanks flo!
man, i remember a week in school when I had a total of 5 hours of sleep over the whole week!
but at least I finally realise that I am not to blame for having panic attacks. I used to think I was soo stooopid for letting little things make me crazy. But now I know I cannot do anything to stop it, except slowly making the panic buttons less sensitive. Once the mechanism starts, no concious action can stop it.
Zombee best wishes
*keeps fingers crossed for Zombee*
thanks herin! oh no fran! how did you survive!
indeed so, Sprite. I wish i could make my mom understand that.
Sprite i had a panic attack today thats why i asked. I still feel really freaked out.
HAHA sprite!
argh, idiot is a phantom. I hate it when that happens :)
sprite, i'm so glad for you, it's good to not feel like you're abnormal (if that makes sense)
sprite, that one has been bothering me all night too!
i must say the variation in mobile rings here in the office is fascinating.
tsk! you're babbling at work! keep it up ("
oops i meant (:
beautiful icon Fran
lol, yes it does, Fran. Being able to stop be4ing myself over the head for it makes it less bad. Lady, sorry to hear that. Best you can do is try and relax, and be gentle with yourself. Panic eats energy like locust eat grainfields... bare to the bone after a visit!
zombee, i don't know how i did it either...my biggest presentation of the week was done in a stupor, but i must have been prepared, i answered every question while my "team" members just stood there!!
thanks flosey! i think everyone here knows i love purple. :-)
Oh yes. I have no idea why but i was at the store and wham i am lucky i remembered the breathing methods from yoga
haha I usually work with people like that too! I end up answering every single question thrown at us!
Morning guys
good for you infernal!
hi fishbulb!
hi Fish
yes zombee, the US Gov't pays me to do it, too. :)
morning, fishbulb!
lovely hat, fishbulb!
dcs-HAHAHA
Hi Fish - another purple lover Fran
lol zombee, i remember looking at them disgustedly through bloodshot eyes.
gday fishbulb!
Oooh Fran, pretty icon :D Sprite, lovely to see you as always dcseain, good morning to you too! :D
to be able to focus emough during an attack to look around and see that you are not in danger is a large step; to let the phisiology run its course without compounding the anxiety by thinking woulda coulda shoulda what if is a real key to shortening the panic
gday Zombee!
great hat fishbulb! and even better color. :-)
HI Fish.
HI Fish.
is there anything that can be done to suppress the feeling during a panic attack? like can you distract yourself?
finally finished the Ts.
go dc go!!!
So very true, BabbleRabble! Recently, I have been able to go through a panic attack, knowing I am having one and realising the chemical reaction will take its course, and afterwards I know I better take it easy for a bit and not blame myself... such a huge difference.
woot dc!
HAHAHAH!!! "Fishbulb is a human from United Kingdom". Yeah I got that much!
Babble yep. Zombee i have a plan. I listen to my ipod when i go out. I also know where the exits are in a place
what works bets for me it simply go with it and realize you are not in danger
no, suppression or distraction does not work for me. Just letting it be what it is and staying as calm as possible while it lasts, works better for me.
zombee, are you going to go pro so that we'll find out if you're at least human? :-)
Thanks Fran, wish it was mine Hi lady. Zombee, I think that's the default on the profile page but it made me chuckle so I kept it! I like clarification of my human status sometimes.
Zombees aren't human anymore... they used to be ;)
a friend with bridge issues and panic disorder was driving us home once. We crossed the Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore, which other passenger insisted was a drawbridge, which she and i knew it wasn't. She was breathing again after crossing the Key, when a sign said "Drawbridge Ahead"
yo wats up
oops, lights flickering, hope we don't lose power again
oh yeah, thanks for clarifying that sprite. :-)
yo wats up
a panic attack episode sounds a bit like the dizzy rushes I get.
yo chinger
argh, flosey... my hopes go with yours...
"Drawbridge!? Drawbridge Ahead!? What does that mean?" to which i replied "It means there's a drawbridge, honey", which made her laugh, and happily, it was tiny. :)
how r u franmag
anytime, Fran :D
hi chinger
hahaha, no human plays as many internet games as I do (:
don't know how long it was off - at least 5 hours before I went to bed
hi sprite
Zombee its not fun i can tell you. Damn freaking stupid suckwholey Christmas is the trigger'
time elapsed on clocks can help w/that, if they run instead of flashing
LOL dc!
pretty good chinger
lol oh dearie
Hello chinger, you're new to me, welcome to babble
lady, I am right with you on that one. December is a bad month for me, with all the Xmas stress and such. But it will be January soon :)
She's still no fond of big bridges, but is getting better with them. Eventual goal is to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, from which one cannot see land for several minutes in the middle.
flosey, i'm crossing my fingers for you and jilli.
I have never fainted in my life. I've tried, but nope, didn't work
dc, that sounds scary even without bridge issues!
thanks Fran
wow, that is kinda heroic, dc. Your company and some humour might well help her make it :)
No its more like for me the people that aren't here anymore. How utterly alone i am at times.
we're here for you herin (:
DC You can have the bridge on your own thanks
it's a 5-mile suspension bridge connecting Annapolis, MD to Kent Island, MD.
Um no thanks DC
someday, Sprite, that is my hope. I've shared with her the experience of having a tire blowout on that bridge, which doesn't help per se, but shows that it was overcome successfully, including driving off the bridge w/out stopping.
cannot see land? my butt just tingled
being alone or lonely are two different things. Feeling lonely and abandoned can be very tough, especially in times like these.
I would need to know what violation caused the suspension before crossing that bridge
LOL! @ BabbleRabble
My parents are interstate there is no family christmas fo rme
LOL babrab! i love how your brain works. :-)
HAHAHA
good one, dc!
yes it can, sprite
sprite do u know chimber or something like that that is me i just made a new one
LOL babrab
lady, I would give quite a lot to not have to put up a Xmas tree, but my kids would be so sad.
cokeman, do you mean you were chinger just a little while ago?
Sprite we don't have any tree here
lol, my family's xmas tree is about 4 ft high. my mom took the easy way out
http://tinyurl.com/yspr9r is wiki about the bridge - nice panaroma of it from the Annapolis (West) side, looking South, at the bottom.
i grew up with a 7ft upstairs and a 6ft downstairs, both artificial.
the year our grandson came for Christmas we had a 12' tree that hubby had planted the year we came here
he loved it,
I tend to go with the nature in the seasons... in winter, I feel like turning inward, concentrating strenght and energy deep inside, waiting for spring to turn it outwards again. But Xmas here is very extrovert nowadays... too commercial, too many obligations, too much humbug.
Is there any LA words please
The White House trees amazed me as a child - 18-25ft high.
no, lady
wow dc, that is a great panoramic shot
that's cool. but lately my family has adopted a very lackadaisical attitude towards the holiday season.
don't think there can be, lady
last year on the 24th of december my dad forgot that xmas was tomorrow
I have a le x 4 and 2 le 6s what the heck is it i am missing
1st ot5? i have the animal.
le*5, 2 6s
lo 4
thanks
dc, change the last vowel
ty, fran
babrab means le4, i think
thanks Fran
yw dc, sprite
no, I simply was mistaken
what LE 5 clue please
:)
no le5. total of 5 LE words, 3 le4 and 2 le6
:D
DC you are not on fire to day thanks
I wouldn't say that... dc looks quite hot to me ;)
lol!
DC thanks i gots it
very interesting arrangement of colours there dc
I agree, flosey
if you follow the 2nd url i posted in my profile, she gives an explanation of the piece.
dc, i know i'm not an artist because when i took calculus it did not inspire any artistic thoughts at all!
will jot it down and check later dc
she was an artist who stated studyng math from arithmitc forward 4 years ago, and has used the maths no inform her art. The calculus played into her Zoroastrian series also.
to, no, whatever ;)
oh, I found te6/21 all by myself. Must be the very first time.
go, sprite! :D
lol dc :)
i've seen that do 8.45 in the mirror on occasion
*goes hunting for that do8*
found it! thanks babrab, now i have to look it up
found it! Thanks BabbleRabble!
Thanks bab
i only knew the 2nd, british usage, was surprised by def 1.
i'm sure it's only when someone is standing behind you!
funny, you don't strike me as one at all, BabbleRabble ;)
cool, the alt spelling is in the grid too
head desk
ty, sprite
thanks Fran
yw sprite
My nets cracked it again
de 9 -- death penalty is alleged to be one
poor lady
the places in US w/lowest crime rates lack death penalty . Some de9.
woot, found it right away from that clue, BabbleRabble, thanks.
I don't think there is even one single proof that it really works as one, indeed.
latest research discredits the allegation
ab
morning, phan!
ab right back at ye, phan
hi phand!
don't mind my shoutout! Good morning!
Sometimes i wish there was the death penalty in AUs i know of at least one case were i would pull the switch
I just got here and seeing how many I can get...
some days I feel like I have been executed.
i live in the state with the 2nd highest rate of people on death row. Only Texas has more on death row, and kill more, than Virginia. I grew up in the court circuit with the highes death row conviction rate in the state. The Commonwealth's Attorney has used that fact to get reelected for decades now.
it's not a bad grid today phand
then you come to your senses and find you have a body still, sprite?
DC your legal system blows and sucks there are too many innocent people on death row its bullocks
yes, lady, i agree entirely.
the commonwealth has paid out huge sums of money for decades of wrongful deaths at this point.
I only believe in it if the person is 200% person guitly
nah, that is the bad part, dc... then I realise I do still have this failing body and mind... but then I make myself look at all my blessings and stop being sorry ;)
and people around the globe glad to know you're with us. :)
aw, that is sweet, dc :) You babblers are definitely one of my blessings!
i second that dc!
YEs Sprite i love our chats
so do I :) Babble is a great place to be, whether you are down or upbe4.
i'm popping in to agree (:
goss darn it
*smiles at Zombee*
Back some dolt locked the front door
hahaha
*dolt is not a valid word in this grid*
Thats why i used it
ah, you have got a point there, lady, lol
i keep missing the french ending today. sigh.
Seriously the house is still stinking hot and they closed the frount door
is that the ending of the de9, dc?
no, sprite. Ba7, among others
hm, I have a ba7/36 but it has a simple comparative ending... will hunt on.
my brain parses it as French, though you are correct in that case, and the one i just found.
my brain may well be blending tongues again. Babble smabble.
oh, LOL! I was trying with an extra e now.
Is there just 1 Ba 76?
7 i meant 7
areae is so valid. sigh.
and is there a DO 9?
do8
ba7/36
I have one, lady, but am not finished yet.
such silly words in here tonite. Hi Sprite
de9 infernal
Ok what is the 9?
thanks
hi lynxxx! *hug* Good to see you.
hi again lynxxx!
Hi Lynxx is that De 9 an 8 too
back with us Fran
nope, builds off a de5
de9 comes from the de5.12
it is, dc, the word you just mentioned, but you cannot make it in this grid. Singular works, though.
i didn't get knocked off tonight lynxxx! wonder of wonders
sorry to be such a pain in the arse
sorry to be such a pain in the arse

yes, phan AL - awake, present, or an alarm - 3 words
yay phan!
and thanks for the ae words, BabbleRabble!
OH Creepy
what'd I miss what'd I miss
There is a major telly serious on the gangland war that happened in Melbourne called Underbelly. I was there for some of the court cases.
ba 6.24 -- verb at times followed by "the hatches" and the ba 8 is the one doing it
(0.0)
ah, that gave me the 8, though I had the 6. Thanks again, BabbleRabble
only 2 more Bs to go!
ooh, me too sprite, i wonder if they're the same ones?
Zombee one guy was a major smart arse with the County Court Judge. Joke was on him when she went to the Supreme Court and handled all of his crimes. Wipped that smerk right of his dial
phantom: purple (and yes, i know there is no U)
Fran, that one has been bugging me too
also parent
:-)
yeah, that too!
hahaha! serves that smartass right!
I want pattern
only one left now (of the Bs that is)
got the b5 nut?
oh yes, that one too, phan!
She is a fantastic woman and a great judge
ugh, that's another one phand! now i won't see another re** word for a while
i do lynxxx
not sure, lynxxx.
be6.27 placed a wager?
yep
yay for female judges HAHAHA
Sprite be5.14 nut - they are chewed by some people
sprite, like be***juice, michael keaton
Zombee she rocks
perfect, that was the missing one! Thanks :)
yep, a lot of people in my neck of the woods. :-)
be***geuse
and i'm still missing two, which means the ones i'm missing are really easy!!
not in the movie dc

lol
American is good.
yes, as he found
I love AUs
lol. well the thing is that the people here have this "language" called singlish
it's embraced as something native
dang it i missed the nut
so singapore has it's own patois blend of mandarin and english?
too bad to go against native language
it's basically a form of slangish english which was born when people who didn't know english well translated mandarin to english literally
that was redundant.
well...yeah sort of

I'm not watching anything other than the grid. However, I do have 3 Christmas cakes to marzipan and will watch recorded progs on TV after whilst I'm ironing.
JAc did u make the cakes?
I did indeed, herin.
Yah
oh you are so diligent jac
I make the cakes in September and feed them twice over the months with sherry and then brandy or whiskey. I'll marzipan them today and ice them in about a week.
we are snowed in today, the schools are closed, I was hoping for a monster grid - this is not bad.
Heading to your house Jac
MrP - I've been making the cakes since I was about 11. I had to make one a school and my parents would never eat shop bought after that! When I got my own home I then had to make 2 and now I do 3 (one for P's parents, too).
I'll put the kettle on, Herin. LOL
By the time i swim there :)

Hi Katie! (And sorry MrP, just started)

and santa will be here soon
I feel as though I have double vision with this grid.
Contact the place where you ordered it from, bfsog.
head desk. THey are now talking about warning labels on alcohol for pregnant woman and not to drink. WHy don't we just slap people
I have and they say we will refund your account and then recharge you, and send it out again
How long did they suggest it would take BF?
but i dont trust them!
well they said once the order went through itl be 2-5 days. its been 12 days
Lady, one of my favorite sayings is, "You can't fix stupid." Some people choose to be ignorant.
Oh i like that one scrabbler
Wow. I don't think I would be a fan of going through that again. Is there anyone else you can get the DVD after they refund you?
**anywhere, not anyone
well yeah i can get it elsewhere, and thats where i usually buy from, but i thought i would someone else my pennies
I use amazon or barns and noble
but i think they wont give me a refund, only a re-issue of the dvd
i use play
59 left... having to really think here :(
I don't do anything online..Thus no babble pro, lol
i dont babble pro either
I use Amazon for everything---DVDs, books, CDs. Some people prefer the indie places, but I need to save money.
If they didn't even give you the product, you would think they'd be obligated to give you your money back
shoot. 2 left no list
Uniquity, are you concerned about privacy and identity theft issues on-line?
they will give me the money back, but then (i think) they will redo the order, so effectively debit my account again
wow how did that happen
Go Lady go, you Babble Pro!!
i emailed them so i will keep you posted
It was the 8s that are killing me
Scrabbler - I basically just don't have a credit card. If I did, then I would be concerned about privacy.
oh my
only herin is left!
I is here
Whoa, the snow is really coming down now. I have to get new tires this week.
Did you finish Herin?
lol. i've been surfing other sites...eating dinner...

hahha gnight!
what in the world is "morewords"?
It's in the babble expert list of resources...
its a resource thing
You can entre part of a word with dashes or asterisk to represent missing letters and get suggested ideas back
oh. is it like a2zwordfinder?
Yes it is bb
Quite similar, except you can seek things very specifically
a7s?
gotcha
But still try finding 179 words with just a te
everyday i learn something new
hahaha
Very helpful on tricky clues, I find
hey herin you are so far ahead of me.......i have never even come close to finishing without using lickety/bj and list
beat this. I've never finished it once lol
BB i have done jigsaws since i can remember
brain development, eh? HAHAHA
good morning everyone - how's the grid today?
i do crosswords all the time but this always makes me work
morning asgreen
I look at the grid like a jigsaw puzzle. My brain is nearly both left and right (46/54) sided
just started here so only have 40 words (with no list)
Hi As
as7s - both build off the 4 (aid and ab**)
BB it took me a year to do it no list
hi blatt
hi bb, herin, zombee
herin--cool! abt the brain thing
herin you sound just like my hubby.
First i went half way, then 15, then 7 depends on the grid some days i don't bother finishing it as i cant get into it
Zombee i is mutant :p
although i am good at jigsaws too.
lol!
I've spent most of my life reading or doig some sort of puzzles (from word searches to crosswords and jigsaws). Love it. Babble is one of my faves
prodigious vocabulary -- not so good about maths
I find 1000 piece jigsaws too easy
FREAK!!!
you should be in the jigsaw equivalent of mensa or something
i have an 8000 but no table to assemble it on so it just stares at me from the box
Yep
I'm pretty even. Never been tested, but took advanced math in HS as well as as much English as I could get. Hate science but am good at it as well
lol. use the FLOOR
biggest shelf in the house
ty uniq
i love science
Oh bb i would love to buy those massive felt roll up storage things for the puzzles.
Although, my HS was super easy, so getting 90s isn't much of an accomplishment
I cant use the flooror the table i have a cat
ba 8 - is it off of the word before it?
Glad you got it bf!
and i have children, dog and cat
and ta for that uni on the ab7
I finished my friends mums puzzle in a day shed been working on it for a year drove her to dispare so i finished it.
lol...that's funny
do you do the 3D puzzles too?
Have you tried jigzone.com? You can choose the cut of the pieces as well as the # of pieces.
No as i find them annoying
Thanks Chiley
anyone here know how to solve a Rubik's?
3D or jigzone?
with a hammer Zombee
ladies? is the ba 8 off of the word before it?
No its not sorry Its of the 6 24
I have an 8 off ba6/24
yes, says this man .... the actor doing the 6
I start from the other end...my a was a fluke
bb--LOL
don't know if it's on lists asgreen, I monkeyed it
I have a super friend who knows how to...after much practice

I am back after playing a few rounds of Noggin, my newest addiction. Now I shall venture out to the snowy outside to retrieve my newspaper. If I am not back soon, send out the rescue team with sleds.
We've got the sled teams on hold Scrabbler!
Aw, asg, my 40's have been the best decade of my life so far!! I finally felt like a grown-up at about 42. Life experience leads to wisdom and the 40's are great! OK, I'm going outside now.
thx Scrab - bundle up!
I'm back. The snow is heavy and coming down fast!
Bad news = driving will be treacherous. Good news = bad weather means the office may be quieter today as parents won't want to drive.
glad ya made it!
Help with de9? Is it related to de5 before it?
yes it is scrabs
Hi MM--I watche "Just Like Heaven" last night. Cute but nothing outstanding.

peri, it's a continuation of previous word if you have de5
Yahoo Flosey!
was reading back thru earlier chat log and saw someone was interested in jigsaw puzzles..... i belong to a yahoo group that supplies them online. Some are very challenging
I have 2 de5 and don't think they are the ones
flosey, that pic you have is breathtaking :)
that would be herin
I LOVE jigsaw puzzles, Nono. I have dozens in a basement storage area.
jigsaw puzzles give me a headache
ty lil, it's the arctic
Well, buddies, I have to get ready for tennis, then I work 1-8. I shall return tonight.
i wish i had the room to do them but live in a mobile home and space is not that available
peri, the de9 is what the death penalty is said to be
how many de5's are there
so online works well for me
Scrabs...have a good game of tennis
well MM, guess it is!
there are two de5's peri
two peri
I will, TY, Betsy.

oops peri
lol
Good morning all, and thanks for that one, Peri-kins!! :-)
why am I having such a hard time with this one today?
Hi, asgreen... it's one of those "Monday grids that keep us from getting too smug!" LOL
I guess...lol....though, I NEVER leave here feeling smug! :)
YW Scarlet and good morning to you too
When I saw that we have to find ten eight-letter words, I thought, "Oh-oh... fun time in the old corral!" :-) asgreen... HOw is your weather, peri?
'cold, going up to 40's today
brrrrr
We have the warmth, but the dangerous, high-wind advisory is keeping us on our toes... making certain that any object that weighs less than 40 pounds is off the porch and surrounding areas...
findind this to be a hard grid
*finding* even
oh my
LOL, peri... I like the harder ones, but this is one that I will take in little "sips" through the morning.
I like the bigger grids, not necessarily the harder grids but I will plod through this one doing a little at a time throughout the day
ok buhbye yall
me too peri! :) so, last week was my first time on in months, and I saw fireworks 3 days in a row (my first 3 ever - maybe I DID feel smug!!)
I'm gonna pass on today's grid
good for you as
Isn't this site a wonderful place to use your head... for a short time, anyway, the world is suspended and all we have to concentrate on is words?
bye zombee!
my endurance has gone hiking
buhbye (:
hi Scarlet, i didnt see you sneak in
Yahoo for asgreen... *giggle at smugness* I think you were probably celebrating... Hi, Nono... yep... I came in on the Asheville WindStorm... LOL
the wind seems quite widespread this morning
P.S. "My broom is parked in the corner"...
have high wind adviseries here too
I wondered if we would have Internet service, because that is usually the first victim of winds...
Scarlet the ba6/24 and the ba8 would be appropriate words for you today
that and power ... either one and i'm lost
Nono, just checking here: what is the first description you would pull out when you are looking at the word orbs
Okay, peri... I already KNOW that... LOL... no surprises there!
NM then :-)
a round sphere of light i guess
*Laughing out loud now*\
I could come up sith some great definitions for some of the words I'm trying to make up
Okay... I thought of eyes... or spherical objects such as balls... but, they were misinterpreted... LOL, asgreen... so do I!
asgreen, did I read that you are tiptoeing up to your 40th birthday? If so, it is the beginning of a wonderful time of life for a woman!
I'm giving myself 20 more minutes of "fun" - then I need to go food shopping so hubby can make us a wonderful bday/channukah dinner tomorrow! (and I get the night off)
ha! the 40th birthday is more commonly known as your "20-20" birthday as it is the last time you will ever see 20-20 again!
tx Scarlet! I'm actually ok with it - it's just such a REAL number!
Scarlet, I guess my son won't be flight instructing or doing any aerial photography today
lol bb - hadn't heard that
LOL, bbnaz.... never heard that one before!
Hi, chiley.. it is a little disconcerting to look across the road at the 60-foot cathedral pines swaying back and forth...
uhoh....he lives on a mountain aboveHendersonville. He's been worried about some of the trees over his house. He lost quite a few and had damage in the ice storm 2 yrs ago.
Well, happy birthday and Happy Channukah to you, asgreen! May this be the entryway to a joyous new year for you and yours!
many thanks Scarlet!
Oh, chiley... that ice-storm was right after we moved in here on Dec. 5, 2005... it really took a harsh toll on the weeping willows and other, older trees!
I think it was in January of '06...
okay left hand side greyed out as well as the right side too
I don't like this grid one io** lol
and second column. leaves two columns to go
Rock 'n roll, bbnaz!
go bb go!
truding along
*trudging
Oh, for heaven's sake, asgreen... fish my head! I didn't even see that and it was RIGHT there! Oy!
lol - yw?
:-)
A quote from Ben Franklin for the birthday girl: "At 20 years of age the will reigns; at 30 the wit; at 40 the judgement.â€
that's a LOT of pressure jwr! lol
Hi, jwr! :-) What is the prediction for 60-plus?
"have tea...will babble" - hi all ! - how's the grid today ?
hi montreal its a bit of work today
Good morning, Luc! It is challenging, but you know I will tell you I am having fun!

Here's hoping, Eva...

Yay Jac! wow
wtg Jacula !!
*Back to the two-step, then* Yahoo for Jacula!!
woohoo Congrats Jacula!
definitely keeping my fingers crossed -- just had to pay November and Decembers rent (for both of us, no less!) and christmas is looking a little tight!
jac -- those shoes are FABULOUS!
If a nurse is coming in at 8, Luc, the lawsuit will come at 9:30! LOL
One starts to get young at the age of sixty and then it is too late. - Pablo Picasso
lol scarlet...
They are, aren't they EvaN? I have a pair very similar.
Eva.. Christmas is about gratitude... not spending money...you have an embarrassment of riches!
Thank you, jwr... it's never too late to celebrate life! At least in my hear.
*head*
I must get back to the kitchen. Happy Babbling!
bye Jacula !
you know it's bad when you are stuck on a le4,4
considering I'm coming up on the septuagenarian days, I ought to keep my quotes to myself.
i must say, despite all the stress and drama of this year, i am so very thankful for all of the good things -- after all, ive got a good job, good health, a roof over my head, and the love of my life. the rest is all details, right? :)
ahhhh - other side of the grid!!
lol asgreen...
totally agree eva! great philosophy
Right, dear... that's the attitude.
cute, asgreen -- you haven't lost your wit at all!
darn - it's 9:30....ok, 10 more mins!
i can have that attitude today, because i had the minor breakdown yesterday...poor BF wondering why i was so upset! but we are all back on track now. :)
phantom: learn
aaaaaannnnnnd MAZELTOV!
Sometimes the stress just needs a steam-valve... here's hoping that you have a solid grip on things now, Eva.
jwr... are you Mazeltov-ing for having finished the grid?
thats what i explained to him -- that stress is like a kettle on the stove...eventually, the whistle is gonna blow!
nope -- that was a birthday yelp. sorry if I got you excited.
ah, thx jwr!!
I've got another 22 to go
LOL, Eva... great minds, etc. LOL, jwr... I wasn't excited... just happy!

lol jwr
I still have 123, but enjoying this tremendously!
hah, still 156 here!
I have 127 - this is tough today! for me, anyway
135 to go here...
Let us hold hands and enter into the great abyss of Babble together....
holding hands with scarlet and asgreen...
And a one, a two...
1,2,3, JUMP
down to 86 words
aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!
hi, all. Happy Monday...23 words to go

going to take a break, bbs
hi there Angel !
go Angel! bye peri - I'll be gone before you get back!
Later, peri... hi, Angel and Tanja!
rented
to whom Tanja ??
sorry
tting tired
hi angel and tanja
Well, you've kept me awake overnight again, dear folk. And I'm due at a press screening in three hours: Coppola's Youth Without Youth. Suddenly realized that was an appropriate subject for today's Chatterbox, eh?
I am getting tired and forgetting which box I am alking in
np tanja, we all do it...
funny jwr - I'm VERY youthful - just ask my kids! lol
LOL, jwr... enjoy!!
Ask my grandchildren!
I'm VERY youthful - just ask my grand-kids! lol
thanks a bunch. be back later, young'uns.
Great minds again, Luc! LOL
GMTA scarlet...
re-lol
Double-LOL
lol you two
cant get the two ae words. anyone have clues?
Good morning, mkg... Oh... a grid!
so, i know my sister-in-law is due with their 3rd baby in January, but i was talking to my mom last night to find out WHEN in january... turns out, because of stupid insurance reasons, the MIGHT induce her in late december, since her current insurance is better than the insurance she will have in january... *whew!*
good grief!
some people say capital punishment is not a de9 to crime...
Scarlet - you are cracking me up. Sorry mkg - don't have 'em
thanks, angel!
Too many people are making decisions based on the blasted insurance coverage... right now, my husband in in the "doughnut" and it
tx angel - and sorry mkg, dont have the AE word(s)
is not good. Hi, Une!! ARe you having high winds today too?
mkg: make soil looser, and past tense
well, shes due mid-january, so 2 weeks early isnt terrible... but i agree, its sad that people have to think that way!
bonjour Une !
thanks angel! :)
tx again Angel !
OK, I really need to go - stayed in PJs all day yesterday....need to go shower and shop - 112 to go - see y'all later!
not now, Scarlet, but when I drove home from my mom's last nite (an hour on interstate) I was a complete wreck--had to pry my hands off the wheel in my driveway . . . torrential rain and high winds--couldn't see a thing at certain points--was going 20 mph!
later asgreen !
salut, montreal!Ca va? Beaucoup de neige?
oh oui Une ! - j'ai dû pelleter ce matin ...et, bien sûr, la charrue vient de passer...
do those of you in the US know about Craigs List?
ok, this is what i found on urban dictionary website: Charrue is a Québecois expression used to define multiple things, including a big, fat and usually ugly woman.
busted, I'm still here, yes Angel - I've used it
absolutely, angel!
we were able to get three pieces of furniture from Craigs List yesterday. A chair for my office, a coffee table, and a rocking chair.
lol Une --- in this case, it's the snowplow of course...
LOL!
that's great Angel! I've sold stuff, found babysitters, etc. OK, I'm really out - w/108 to go - later all - poof!
Ohmigosh, Une... I re-coffeed and read your post... what a nightmare! Yes, Angel, folks here use Craig's List for job-hunting.
cool, angel! A couple of years ago I was able to connect with a local teacher just starting out at an urban grade school--gave her lots of supplies!
'Bye, asgreen!
scarlet, the funny thing is that as I left my mom's house, the caregiver and I were commenting that once the again the weather forecasters got it all wrong--not a drop was falling there!
As usual, Une... I can drive on ice, snow and dreck... even fog... but winds are another breed of trouble.
my litte green Sentra ("Kermit") was struggling down that road!
Awww... our car is called "Dreadnaught"
ohmy!!
:-)
hints for the i words on the top row? or the E just above the Ls on the left?
Just look from right to left for a four, Eva
it7 to utter repeatedly
What, what, what, Une?
thanks -- always annoyed when i miss that io4 -- its one of my favorite babblets!
179 and FIREWORKS!!
she was asking for "i" words
woohoo, nono!!
Yahoo, Yippee and Yowza for Nono!!
same here eva!
I was being brainless, Une...
Scarlet, speaking of wind, when my daughter lived in Blowing Rock, ohmygod the wind was incredible--blew her plants off the deck!
now i need a shower, Happy babbling everyone
Later, Nono
bye, nono
later nono !
Last winter, we had such a bad windstorm that it blew our 200-pound outdoor grill right over! Thank goodness for good neighbors... one lady was so shaken... a huge tree missed her car by mere inches.. the electric company had to come by to break the tree down in increments so the branches wouldn't interfere with the current.
someone was asking for the ae's: to add oxygen
wowie!
and past tense
I am still amazed that winds are such an issue in the mountains, though, Une.
i assumed it was an altitude thing in Blowing Rock but Asheville's not that high, right?
Well, Blowing Rock is several hundred feet higher in elevation than Asheville, but we DO get some doozies...
sounds like it!
At this moment, all is calm and the sun is smiling... so, into the grid before I lose I-net service!! :-)
gotta go with a mere 116 to go - more shovelling needed... and probably even more later as the snow has not lessened... BBL - happy babbling all !
Later, Luc! Please be careful!!
(((Scarlet)))
:-)
... and "POOF"
fireorks.
Congratulations, Angel!!
fireworks I mean
Well, I thought in your corner of the world, Angel, the orks were on fire today... the weather patterns are very weird!
well, for those of you were here earlier the dvd supplier got back to me.. they sent the same email again, say wait 14 days
i have waited 12 days! grrr it is not going to show up
Hi, bfsog... which DVD is causing the problems? A movie?
hey scarlet, i ordered a dvd for my gf for christmas, for some reason i went with a different online shop, it has never turned up
ve been in touch but they say they will wait 14 days, and then they will refund me and then charge me again and send out the dvd again
ut i want to just get a refund and buy it elsewhere!
At least you started early enough to anticipate foul-ups, bfs... so you're really ahead of the last-minute crunch...
yeah,
I just don't shop on-line... I also stay away from the insanity of Black Friday and Cyber Monday as though they are the plague... LOL
i was only 2 then, why stay away>
Morning....
morning leigh
Howdy, leigh!! :-)
stumped by the pe words the 7/32 second one is tough. any clues?
id never actually heard of Cyber-Monday until this year... i ended up having to work Black Friday this year, but actually had a sick desire to go to the mall...heh
just got that word so nm. thanks
so uh, why is it different than any other day? and why not go to the mall/
Me either... yet another marketing ploy that everyone buys into... not moi! :9
Must check emails... see you in a few! (With 70 left!)
bfs -- Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, where all the stores put on *insane* sales in preparation for the Christmas holiday... the sales are usually one-day only and very good, so people go nuts and start camping out in front of stores + in short, its just very chaotic. you hear stories of people getting trampled + even dying on Black Friday...
and is that why the stock market like went boom ?
i think youre thinking of the Great Depression -- different events
i dont know, i wiki'd it and it was telling me about the dow jones index losing 502 points
Eva, did you see the video last week about the artificial inflation of the market? It was superb... and very funny!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Fri day_(shopping)
okay back for a few more.........
was it on Babble? i dont get to see the Babble videos. :(
eva...if you want to see the babble videos, just e-mail lickety
I have to thank jillibus for choosing it! Oh, sorry, then... it was just two men, ostensibly an investment banker and an interviewer... very droll, very British, and right on the nose about the manipulations of the stock market!
ask him about babble expert
bbnaz -- i cant do that because i Babble mainly at work and im not allowed to download anything here (course, im not really allowed to play Babble either...heh)
*snort*
ahhh gotcha
That British teacher who allowed her students to have named the teddy bear, Muhammed, has been pardoned!
right the dvd saga is over. they wont give me a refund until the 14 days are up
i am never shopping with them again
interesting how it is okay to name a person Mohammed but not a teddy
I know, bbnaz... there is a football player by the name of Mussin Mohammed, and no riots in the streets...
or the infamous Mohammed Atta.....oh wait to some he is a martyr
Or, Ali!
Well, the pardon came from Khartoum, Sudan... right from the president of Sudan... I guess the world stage had some influence on their decision.
and how many hispanics are name "Jesus"?
And... Concepcion? Urf.
*checks Babblecast* D'oh...
Hi All!
Hi Carra. *gives a wave, and then wanders off* Bye everyone.
Hi, carra!
Hi/Bye Leigh
Hi Scarlet!
Morning, all. Just realized there are 10 8 letter words. *falls off chair*
geesh alot of people i used to hang out with have kids.. im like the only 22 year old left hah
Carra, my youngest daughter is almost 26, and her friends have kids in school already! Hi, Judi!
*Helps Judi up from floor... waves smelling salts under nose*
*sputter sputter* Ty, Scarlet.
She just isn't interested in getting married, nor having children yet... or ever! *Hugs Judi in deep sympathy*
2 guys i used to hang out with have boys.. i wish they had girls b/c they were such womanizers lol would have been funny .. not now but when they would be old enough to date haha
Oh, yippee... the wonderful beloved just invited me to go to a late lunch.. for The Worst Food in the World: an amazing thing called the Dogzilla- 18 inches of Angus beef hotdog with red onions... (Don't worry, I'll use a breath mint before I come back to Babble!) Is there a hiccough on the site now? Hmmmm]
heck I didn't get married until I was 32..first child was a year later.
19 to go
words not children
Go, bbnaz, go!!
Yahoo... B and P words conquered!
ok peeps - how is today's grid?
Good morning/afternoon all. The grid is interesting.
Interesting in the nice sense.
I am unfond of this grid
hullo TO and Haz.
13 to go for me
Hello bbnaz.
determined to finish before I go to the barn
~!~!FIREWORKS!~!~ after a 2 hour nap :-)
good for you Kristine! hopefully not far behind
Congratulations Kristine.
tyvm ,, it's quite easy , the endings are repeated very often !
"have more tea...will babble some more !" - hi all - shovelling round 2 : done !!
wtg Kristine !
Montreal! you out shovelling snow?
tyvm
hi all :):)
I wish I could shovel , there's plenty of it to do
HI Ata
It saves going to the gym, I suppose, the shovelling, I mean.
yes bb, lots of it !!!!!!!
Hello Atalante!
hullo ata
hello there Ata !
living in the desert, you don't have to shovel heat.
hi ata and hi to all
sand BB ??
well the kids are getting hungry for lunch so I must be off ! hagd e1
hi TO !
have a great day Kristine !
nope no sand either. too many houses now.
...and shovelling heat doesn't get you anywhere either...
except maybe hotter
:)
okay here comes rockets for me!
way to go bb !!!
yay bb!
bummer...the video didn't play
Congratulations bbnaz. Off to the barn as your reward!
yes and an injection to give...filly will NOT be amused
you have to take filly by surprise bb !
oh trust me when I say that I do. She is not fond of needles and never has been.
i trust you bb...lol
fortunately it is an intramuscular shot so I don't have to try and hit a vein. Those are never fun with her.......the venous ones I mean.
just had my flu-vaccine - it was intra-muscular and i didn't feel a thing...
hi, what's the icon theme today?
ick. flu vaccines
favourite colour jane
oooooh. must change icon. brb
ok, my icon fits then!
i had a flu vaccine about 15 years ago ... and was sick as a dog - but last winter was bad for me coughing from november to march - so i decided to try again...
knock on wood....no flu vaccine
the flu vaccine makes me woozy
with our harsh canadian winters, colds and the flu are very common...
Well, that's happy, Spangle can be my favourite colour for today.
brown ? white ? hazel ? lol
I bet Atalante's will feature Hobbit's purple collar.
I can't make up my mind, montreal! Sitting on the fence.
the one that captures satellite transmissions ??
No, just the purple collar from the States. It's strictly for appearance.
i hear you hazel - picked orange but i really don't have a favourite colour per say...
back with my favourite coluor :)
It's a nice deep orange. Right, let's see if I was correct.
though hobbit's collar would do!
You see!
right on Hazel - bravo !!
blue-purple, baby pink, white, silver, light turquoise
magnificent Ata !
afternoon babblers! wearing my favorite color today (in my icon, at least) in real life, it seems im wearing Atas favorite color -- purple turtleneck sweater!
I should travel with circuses as a psychic.
Good afternoon EvaNadine.
hi there Eva !
interesting BF-job news... while he hasnt yet heard about the job he had the 2nd interview for last week, he just got a call today from a place he applied to -- they did a phone interview today + he has an in-office interview on friday. always nice to have a backup!
That sounds great!
good news Eva !
he even told them that hes waiting to hear about another job, and they were still interested... this one isnt a federal job though (like the one hes waiting on), but it is temp-to-hire, which is a good option...
yay Eva!
I hope it works out well for him.
considering i had my minor "im so stressed trying to keep everything together and make it all work" yesterday, this is definitely good news...heh
if Spangle is your favourite colour - is that the white or the red?
things usually work out Eva...
It would be the rusty red, Atalante. I like autumny colours - they suit me, maybe that's why.
yeah. i was just getting a little worried that id have to tailor back my christmas shopping this year, and it had me a little depressed... but then i realized i already had MOST of my shopping done...heh
Well there you are - you can relax a bit.
and with BF getting a new job, there could even me more shopping in sight !
yes, thats a beautiful beautiful colour. russety
Good afternnon all. Good news re the BF EvaN.
hi there FM !
Aha, elle est arrivee. Hello FMitch!
Lovely shades of blue. I had wondered whether you were using it to clue cobalamin from yesterday.... you being in clue generating mode and all.
Ca va noisette?
Ca va tres bien, merci!
Hello monty
bonjour fm!
That was a humdinger of a word!
ici aussi ça va pas mal... except for the shovelling done and to be done..
alo alo Ata
Le soleil brille et les oiseaux chantent dans les arbres. (they don't really but that used to be the standard beginning of unimaginative boys' French essays when I was at school.
rofl
A humdinger of a word, but some people just COULDN'T get it.
are u refering to "noisette" FM ?
Listen there were some people that couldn't have got it even if it was spelt out letter by letter!
Then when they learned the imperfect tense the sun shone and the birds sang in the trees.
FMitch -- another green-lover?
and tattooed on their hand for reference.
hi mitch
Le soleil brillait et les oiseaux chantaient dans les arbres.
Yes EvaN was leaning towards the green, dreaming of spring this morning. Hi TO :0
I concur, FMitch, my patience does not extend to the degree of spoon-feeding required.
Exactement, montreal!
bonjour TO !
:) hazel...
hello?
Hello TO - you're still being received.
ah, thought chat was broken...just slow
hello as well !
our system goes out at noon for one minute each day
Bon montreal, il pleut ici a le moment et j'ai manger un flapkack et boire du the.
Oh, your tenses......
But I understand
flapkack? knew the recipe had gone wrong somewhere.
un flapkack?
yay FM, understood it all !
who is eating a pancake?
Could it be a flapknack - a handy foldable bag?
But you wouldn't eat a bag. Unless it was for emergency rations.
no no ... must be flapjack...
Flap Jack - the easily distressed brother of Jill.
with real maple syrup and sweet cream butter ... mmmmm (now I think I must have flapjacks for lunch :)
and drinking tea?
Shhhh monty I was keeping it secret with encrypted typing.
Would you like some tea TO?
Afternoon all.
plus de thé et il me reste 100 mots - c'est le temps d'un "break" - BBL - happy babbling all
lol FM...
France! good afternoon
Good afternoon Frances.
it's time for a break, you have 100 left?
Hi FM and Haz
i am learning french today!
Montréal wishes France a splendid afternoon ! - and yes TO !
*Frances even, Im going to shut up for a while until I can type properly.
Oui, TO.
Thank you Montreal
yw :) --- "POOF"
*beams*
see you later...al this talk of tea has made me need a rest stop. happy babbling
Silverclaw dit bonjour a la tout le monde. Elle est ici, ronronner comme une chatte folle
lol Bye TO
Silverclaw est bilingue?
oui! elle peut ronronner en frnacais et anglais
What about catish?
Quelle chat de gloire!
hello everyone. happy monday! I need help with the top row O. got the animal.
lol Haz
en la langue de chats aussi, bien sur!
deb - change the last vowel in the animal for another.
Heavens is it still Monday? It seems to have gone on for at least 3 days today.
It's still Monday - have you had a busy day?
thanks Haz
Busy but horrid too. High frustrations with customer service depts and outsourced accounts departments.
hi everyone
You're welcome, deb.
That doesn't sound so good. You didn't have to listen to canned music for hours?
also need help with the top row I. have the small amount
Hello crpw.
thanks, deb -- I didn't have that one
Hello crpw and deb
it7 - used recently to emphasise a point
its cold here in cincinnati so its a good day to stay inside and babble
oui! Silverclaw *est* bilingue! Elle est!
thanks again Haz!
Or one letter short of being able to read and write (it7)
No problem debjed.
clue please for 1st pe6-21
pe6/21 - nasty disease of the gums, I think. French father wrapped up with two vowels.
Have you completed the grid Haz?
Yes, it's a nice one today.
Oh congrats to you, seem to be a lot more larger words than usual.
hmmm. I have to go downstairs. But both brats are fast asleep here. They will jump up and follow me like the Pied Piper and then fuss around for 1/2 an hour before sleeping again. Annoyance
Yes, lots of those who do and comparatives.
Ata I am worried about you?
If you crawl on your stomach, very quietly?
you are?
You are sounding remarkably like a particular antipodean.
the quiet thing works with Hobbit. not SIlverclaw. Maybe just absolute speed will work *whoosh*
Can you go fast and quietly, though? Not knocking anything over either.
I tried. They both followed me LOL
Is it devotion or nosiness on their part, Atalante?
They just wanted to supervise and make sure they were not missing out on a food opportunity I guess.
welll someone's got to provide the amusement, FM :P
Devotion, obviously *smug*
can't get the gum clue or the french father clue haz
can i have another one
Okay, the first four letters are the same (but rearranged) as a word meaning to look intently, or a member of the nobility, or one who urinates (sorry!) The last two letters are then vowels.
just got it
Well done!
thank you, been trying that one for a while now
You're welcome.
Good afternoon all.......
p's are finally done
Good afternoon caitlyn.
Afternoon caitlyn
hi cait
How did you all enjoy your weekends?
Hi caitlyn
Lots of thinking going into the weekend question.
Sorry wasn't paying attention, am sudokuing.
It was fine, caitlyn, nothing very different to normal though.
I was busy working on the Secret Project
How about you caitlyn?
evening all
help with the ae's, please!
hi all, back for about 10 minutes... busy day and tonight we need to go to our son's school of choice to hear about the system and all.
It was very cold here caitlyn.
Secret Project??? Hi Denny
Hi denny.. My weekend was fine nice and quiet fora change
When you say the Secret Project, Atalante, do you just mouth the words, rather then speak them out, a la Les Dawson?
of course. It can't even be spoken when alone
Hi sprite..long time no see.how are you?
ae6 - to introduce air and its past tense/adjectival form ae7
hi Ata, FMitch, Haz and all :)
phone brb
I thought so! Hello sprite.
hi spritey!!!!!!
Francis did you have the thunder on the weekend?
thx, haz. it was excaping mem todya.
had a short holiday and enjoyed it very much! Did me a world of good. Trying to hold on to the relaxed feeling even though life is pretty hectic since I have returned. How about you?
Yes we did caitlyn and very high winds.
Im fine thanks sprite,Im glad you enjoyed your holiday, you deserved it
:D
You're welcome eieos.
Evening spritey sprite. Ata I am of course intreagued by "The Secret Project" to be referred to hereafter as TSP.
Better than TCP -that stuff stings.
Hello sprite.
...and smells
And smells awful
wow FMitch, lovely colours to knit with! Hi Frances!
Snap Denny!!
The smell reminds me of boarding school
Tastes worse.
i bet the 9 starts with RE. does anyone have a clue for it?
LOL its only really christmas presents, contents of which cannot be mention, just in case. BUT in Jan - Feb, I really *will* have a proper secret project
debjed, you lost. It starts de. And it is supposed to keep you from something.
It doesn't start with re - it's de, and is designed to stop you doing something for fear of the consequences.
Should we keep ears to the ground Ata?
snap, Haz
I know - let's hope she's on the same wavelength!
Oh heavens Dawn French is on TV and she has put on so much weight
indeed so :)
thanks
which channel?
More weight? Which channel?
We're like vultures!
Ch4
Taking a look.
It's a while since I saw her live so to speak
Do you think that's why she no longer does the chocolate orange ad?
you guys are terrible! Poor Dawn!
Oh she really has put loads more on..it cant be healthy for her
You're right - she is bigger.
ooo she has
I feel awful for her sprite I am not being catty
she's got gorgeous colour hair though
there, thats nice and positive
ah, ok FMitch... am sorry for her too. Hope it isn't bothering her too much.
good girl, Ata :P
And a lovely face
yup, love the colour.
She always claims to not be bothered by her weight, but she looks as though it's going to be more of an effort to move around etc.
Of her face??LOL
she is still very pretty. and there's not being bothered by the fact of weight, and being bothered by the effects of it
if she gets really big, it will be in her way a lot, I know. I can tell when I lose a couple of kilos, I can lie easier in bed and turn around and such.
Anyway, have to go as husband has arrived home. He thinks he needs something to eat.... bye!
Bye Haz, good to see you.
lol Haz, feed the poor man. And *hugs* for you!
byeee!
Bye Haz
Bye Haz
oh, I'd love to knit a sweater from your yarn, FMitch!
Aren't they wonderful colours!
When I googled this morning I was torn between the greens and the blues.
absofreakinglutely!
torn between two lovers...
FMitch I love the colour of the 2nd left top row
I love the combination
Couldn't help butt in, Sprite -- that song was voted in the top ten worst in history, but I always liked it!
Hi ch1212 I always liked that song as well
lol ch1212, same here. It is in my head now... for the rest of the evening, I fear :D ..... feeling like fool... loving both of you is breaking all the rules....
I bet if you go to youtube now you can find at least 10 versions of the song *grin*
Now you have done it sprite LOL
Couldn't really blame you, if you turned and walked away.. but with everything I feel inside, I'm asking you to stayyyyyyyyy
I knew it
*grins evilly*
think it must be before my time ;-)
and now the chorus every one: Torn between two lovers ......
me too, denny :)
feeling.... like a FOOOOOLLLLL....
So I have to say... I discovered that website where you can do "virtual makeovers" and this is me as a blue-eyed blond with a younger 'do'. It's so much fun without the actual fuss!
feeling like a fool........
ooh you're a foxy laydee CH1212
I took a photo of myself, then uploaded it, and had fun trying on new hairstyles, makeup and eyes :)
Quietly slips away to the still of sudoku land whilst keeping an eye on the babbling babblers :)
lol ch1212! Gorgeous... but I like you be6 the way you are.
Denny and Ata stop bragging...anyway my mum taught me!!
my mum only ever taught me to worship marc bolan
Ah gosh, denny... thanks.... and thanks, Sprite -- I like myself as I am too -- reddish-gray hair and hazel eyes and glasses :)
I know many songs from before my time.
my mum taught me to worship silence - but then she is deaf!! lol
Its a great photo ch1212
LOL Denny
silence is golden...
Not bad for 52 -- thanks to makeup!
"before you time?" Okay, let's all break into Stardust by Hoagy Carmichael!
golden, but my eyes still see
golden..but my eyes still see....
Denny and caitlyn *hugggggg* :D
Denny you and I are like twins today
blimey, i'm staggered I actually recall that line!!
lol caitlyn
i love that song caitlyn
I feel young
Dawn French is *very* short
Pops head round the door ... ch1212 whats the website for the virtual makeover? I want to look good like youuuuuu
now my consolation...
Who sung it? The four seasons come to mind pab
me too ata - short and young lololol
Gosh Ata, she looks square!
it's at ivillage.com -- the registration is free and the makeover thing is free too. Lots of fun, and you can email to your friends.
argh, I have to leave you guys. Off to the school with li'l old me. *hugs* around and will be back later.
Ata you are young!
she does, frances!
silence is golden was originally by the tremeloes
Oh thanks Denny..it would have made me wonder all night
I know *smug*
i'm too short for my weight - I should be 6'6"
Bye sprite see you soon
LOL Denny
Howdy folks!
me too lol
Ata You will have to go to the penalty box for smugness soon
Hi Takuma
Me too Denny. I should be 5' 15"
okay, just refreshed my photo -- this is the short pixie cut I'm seriously considering, in the closest to my natural (current) hair color. I'm looking for something really simple.
that's what my scales say when i get on them - afte they've sworn at me!
who's that guy next to dawn?
and not paul o'grady!
Oh, FMitch, the website lets you add glasses if you wear them too.
Used to be in Eastenders Ata
Sid Owen
wow that's lovely ch1212 - wish i could carry that cut off - you're so lucky to have that gorgeous face shape
fun grid today!
ooooh! he's aged!
"Rickey" and he and "Bianca" are coming back to the square!
He is going back to Eastenders in Jan
Oh gosh, thanks (blush). Right now it's below shoulder length, and I was just never a girly-girl -- I don't even own a curling iron or hair dryer. So I need simple :)
Ata he is about yr age
LOL
thank goodness I dont look as "worn" as he does!
that looks like a perfect fingure drying style - and very flattering
he's 2 years older than me!!
ooops sorry about the spelling!
ch1212 the blonde suited you better and no glasses. Hmm ponders should I get rid of glasses?
Denny, just read your profile -- adorable, precious looking children!! And we have the same tastes in programmes :)
Ours is 32 years old now, so you're lucky to still have them little.
ok... who's missed me?
and if you didn't... please lie. =)
who are you? never heard of you
Hey red where ya been?!?!?
Hi red long time no see
hmmm...didn't type that second post fast enough... did I ata?
thanks ch1212, thought they're both a little poorly at the moment. Sean went straight to bed when he got back from playgroup at 3.45 and he is still there!! loves his sleep!
hiya red
LOL ok, missed you really
I was on holiday for a week and then slammed when I got back to work. =)
Hi Takuma
oh... I work at a church, and we sponsor a children's play group twice a week, so the little ones peek into my office from time to time. I'm a frustrated grandma!
and I couldn't get a decent signal all weekend at home. Trust me... I tried. =) Missed my babbling!
i'm really looking forward to the new series of battlestar galactica starting - hopefully in the new year. have you seen Men in Trees?
hiya mitch
anything new I should know about around here?
could someone offer a clue for the non-mammalian 'O' word starting from the top 'O''?
I haven't yet -- it's on at the same time as a program my beloved husband enjoys watching, and since he is so good about watching Grey's Anatomy with me, I try to indulge him too
takuma, change the second vowel on the mammal
I heart Grey's!
thanks ch. huh -- that's a new one to me
Only 2 more 'new' episodes left unless they resolve the writer's strike
it's eally good - I have been pleasantly surprised - altho anne heche's voice grates a little - but there are some lurverly men up there in Elmo Alaska!!
and, once again, I lobby for "dern" to be a word.
I use that one all the time, red
are you seeing the new series of Grey's anatomy at the moment? with the new interns?
The premise kind of reminded me of Northern Exposure (if you remember that show), and it looked promising.
thankfully this grid will not give me the chance to Charlie-Brownedly try 'thar' again
Ch-- I have a friend who's a writer but not in the union... she says the strike is really just making people mad. =(
Oh yes, we tune into Grey's every week. I'm glad they are continuing the storyline of "Ava"
"thar she blows!" "dern it!"
i never watched northern exposure (too young i think!). Who was Ava?
I have a friend who writes for TV, so I've been getting the other side ;)
Ava in Grey's Anatomy -- last season she was the patient with amnesia who fell in love with that one intern, and at the end of the season her husband came to fetch her. This season she has returned for a couple episodes.
Ah, any hint of a solution yet Takuma?
I bet Takuma. There's always two sides, aren't there?
oh yes I remember - fell for Alex, whose character I really warmed too in the end. My favourite is Bailey - she is hilarious!!
Bailey is sooooo great.
LOVE Bailey! And she's getting an expanded storyline this year too.
sounds like they've been close for a little while -- I think there are models of the sort of agreement they're looking for out there
Vah-jay jay. hehehehehe
I hope so, Takuma. The writers are the core of every non-reality show, and deserve appropriate compensation.
but I think these sorts of strikes tend to be long to resolve, since there isn't just one contract or agreement at issue (like in, say, the aircraft controllers' case) but lots of them
cool - will have to keep an eye out for the new series
I've enjoyed chatting but now must finish the laundry and then dive into this grid again. Thank you all -- have fun!
ciao ch
Bye ch1212 see you soon
right. Poor writers never get enough credit. Always goes to the actors, producers, etc.
bye ch!
I must away too and see if my little boy wants his tea
Bye Denny..see you
in this case, the main beef is over revenue from online distribution
see you, denny
bye Denny!
48 words so far how many more?
179 total, GK
who ok ty
*le sigh* i decided to be healthy for lunch today and get a salad... i went to place it on the scale at the register, and the lid popped open and half my salad exploded out of the container! i didnt know i ordered the kamikaze salad!
awwww
hehehehehe. Must have been "spring" greens...
booo red
Oh poor Eva!! Have a chocolate to make up for it
O=D
takuma I meant whoo ok lol
I figured, gk ;)
ok
LOL red!!
is the 9 common and/or compound?
Its de 9 a common word
9 is a real word, not a compound, is a noun made froma verb
(btw, I think the most appropriate response to good puns is complaining -- that one was so good and quick that I grimaced in real life, red)
thanks vic and cait
hi viiiiiii
Howdy, Ata, and everyone!
what can I say? I'm a very punny person.
I got the 9 right away after that -- thanks again guys
My kids are too young to get puns and it's very frustrating! Especially when they try to make up their own knock knock jokes. =P
ok ok ok... I'm done with the puns... for now.
Time to sort the supper out..chicken curry and rice Hi and bye Vic..see you all tomorrow.bye
ciao cait
oh dear, do you have to laugh madly at all the "jokes"?
Bye, Caitlyn. Enjoy your supper.
I like to think of puns as "advanced humor"
I mean... it takes some extra thought to play with words like that. =D
heh vic -- I know that situation. I want to encourage the kids to make jokes, but in particular *good* jokes
Well, I often do laugh, but only because of the nonsensical nonsequitors.
heh, good point red
nice Vic.
lets have an example :D
heh, the pythons made a career out of non sequiturs ;)
An example might be something like "Knock knock" Who's there? "Bathtub." Bathtub who? "Bathtub, time to eat your lunch!"
(or, rather, a bunch of careers)
I laughed out loud at that, vic
looool awwwwww
huh... bathtub... lunch... *ponders*
I try to explain that it should involve a word that can be taken in two different ways, but they just aren't there yet!
Stop pondering, redshoes! You'll hurt yourself!
too late, I believe! ha.
wait, vic -- do they laugh uproariously after they make jokes like that?
Anyway, the point is that redshoes is right and a certain level of sophistication - somewhere above 5 years old - is required for puns!
Yes they do, Takuma. They think they're hysterical.
that's one of my favorite parts of kids' joke-telling
I think that's rather brilliant Vi. Being able to laugh at oneself is truly one of the most wonderful traits ever... in my humble opinion. =)
at least they're on the right track!
I still have fond memories of a kid I was babysitting trying to tell me a knock-knock joke and laughing so hard I couldn't understand a word he said.
Hi all....clues for be5/14?
Boo Hoo I had a car accident today. somebody slammed into the back of my car at a traffic island!!! CAr a horrible mess and my back and neck hurt. Seeking solace in babble but as my head is fuzzy I may be popping up and asking for help.

Yeah - went to the hospital - got whiplash and lower back trauma!!!!
yes, please see a doc!
Oh Sandie am sorry to hear it
sorry Flask... don't have that yet
ah, good -- so the fuzziness is from the treatment and not the accident
am on mega strong painkillers which is why my head is fuzzy.
ok thanks
how fast was this turkey going Sandie ?
I haven't gotten that one yet, either, flask
oh gosh, Sandie. I'm glad you got treatment! How long do you have to be on the meds?
It felt fast. He said his brakes had locked and he couldn't stop!
be5/14 is some kind of reddish nut i believe
be5/14 - nuts chewed for a mild narcotic effect, be + Willion ---l of apple-shooting fame
Got to wait and see how I am in a few days then they'll see if I need further treatment.
ah, good clue, montreal
William
tx TS
thanks Vi.
anyways gonna go into the grid and see if I can relax with my babble. No doubt I'll be popping up for clues!
ok...thanks Vicuna
You're welcome.
I'm going to focus on some stuff for a while, too. will try to pop back to the chat later. bye for now kids!
Time for me to get back to writing. Good luck all!

Bye to FMitch.
Okay, time to relinquish the computer. Have a good evening!
byeeee!
Well, my ad for Animal Reiki is in the current edition of Tails magazine. But there is a major spelling error. They have heath instead of health. I e-mailed the person who placed the ad, asking for some type of compensation.
drawing a blank on the te's -- time for a break
75 to go, must fly, see y'all anon *poof*
oh no! stupid ad people!
Ata, I am really disappointed and upset about it. The only consolation is that the ad reads correctly on their on-line directory
hi you peoples of America
hey sippo
h
hopefully, they will include it for free in the next mag
hi ms.dubi
I asked them to do that Ata and am waiting for a response
they certainly should do at least that!
I agree Ata, will let you know what she say
*says* even
Oh Peri! Of all the words to mistype...health into heath actually means someting
if they don't, we will deluge their email with unimpressed letters
Yes, I know, Uniquity. Really disappointed. And the magazine is for Dec/Jan. Will have to wait til Feb for a corrected version.
Thanks Ata, appreciate the thought
its always disappointing when someone elses error reflects poorly on you and its not even your fault!
That's supremely unfortunate...as suggested though, the compensation could be even better! Or maybe people will be wondering what the ad was REALLY about and will check it out from curiosity!
clue for the do8 please
with all the other french words we get, why not head!
to put a happy slant of light on it, most people will just read "health" anyway. Thats what they expect it to say
do 8: add the chicago lrt to one who makes little circles
I am hoping that is true Ata, but I still want to be compensated
definitely!!
Maybe if we all send letters of complaint...
hello
thanks cybernan
it is amazing though how people will read what they expect. but that doesn't mean they messed up big time
hi mlfan

what is all this stuff about ra6/18 and whatever?
thanks, got the ra6/18
theirs a link down below qmom called Lickety's babble clues
don't have ar5/10
phae wished i did
One AR5/10 is AR + I"ll ***l you a secret, tizer
mlf, did you get the ra6/18?
ar5/10 x3 - ar + 2nd vowel + mr jolson
thx, scarlet
ar + an alien who phoned home + 2nd vowel
thx, den, got it
And the other one, tizer, is A+ not false
i still dont get what all that is!
You're welcome, phaeton.
ar + a nickname for terry
im an the link
qmom te 4/5 as an example only is the length of word which is 4 and 5 is the pts the word is worth
qmom - they are clues to words that can be found in the grid - ar5/10 relates to the first two letters of a five letter word and the 10 are the points that word is worth
didn't know there was a nickname for terry
phaeton - frankie howerd was a british comedian who was well known for his catchphrases
ok, so was that another word for laughing?
so plus five letters or five letters all together?
5 all together
yeah phae me either cant figure that terry one out
ty all
:-)
ok try shortening the name for an instrument used for c0mmunication
oh, got that one, den, thx
phaeton yes he was well known for saying ti**** ye not
denny that clue you jsut gave us about the instrument is that 4 letters/
why?
qmom - 5 letters altogether
qmom if you check out lickety's babble clues link at the bottom of page
are the 8's the longest words today?
that will help you out too
praise he is on that page i think
No, one nine, P2H
mlfan - no its a 5 letter word - ar+short name for the communication thingy!
Fireworks!!!! didn't think I'd finish with my head being so fuzzy after the accident!!!! Pat myself on the back!
wtg, sandie
Pat*Paty*Pat for Sandie!! Well done!
phae i found a word that was 4 letters thought it would belong with that clue no idea what it i slol
Does anyone need clues - not promising they'll be coherent but I'll try.
its a te word
mlf, an 'ar' word?
Hi, I'm a newcomer just happen to be Mtl13 wife.
phaeton - he did a comedy show back in the 60's and 70's which was called Up Pompeii - a parody of ancient Rome - it was one of the things he said - just a tongue in cheek play on words thing
hi xmas
Sandi, what happened to you?
no phae
perhaps I need to stop the obscure clues!!
its a te word
welcome, xmas
Hello there, xmas!
mlf, what is the te word?
tela
Somebody slammed into the back of my car today. Had to go to hospital . got whiplash and lower back trauma. They've given me really strong painkillers that are making my head fuzzy.
den, us yanks don't always get the Britt clues
oh wow
sorry sandie
thx, mlf, don't do that again!
it goes the other way too phaeton. I often get confused by the foodie clues!!
Oh, Sandie... and you still finished the grid! {{{Hugs}}} You better have a stong cuppa now, and just rest for a bit...
Still don't have the 9 letter
one more to hit 100
phae i only did it because you asked and besides i dont know what it means anywya lolk
oh i hope you're ok sandie - take it easy - have you got someone to stay with you?
Think I might go to bed with a good book and just generally feel sorry for myself.
Den, understand...even though our language is universal
mlf, can
Awwww... I feel sorry for you!
hey it's babble of course it's universal. especially when there are words that none of us have heard of!!!lol
sorry*, mlf, can't clue what you don't know
can?
finger went too far to the right
9 letter word follows on from the word before it. Means when you put something in place to stop people attacking you.
Hi phaeton & praise2him, I'm kind of slow and not as good at this at mll13 and the chat box is also very fast
Or, what Sandie should have had on her car bumpers when the chucklehead slammed into her car! LOL
Anyway, off to bed now. Happy babbling all.
Hi all, back to find my last 50
Later, Sandie... I hope you can rest.
Too right Scarlet.
well i'm off now happy babbling all
Scarlet, did you see my post about my ad in Tails Magazine
bye, sandie, hope you feel better later
Thanks babble friends.
thx for all the clues, denny, bye
oooh, Sandie, I just read - feel better! what a bummer!
Hi, peri! {{{hugs}}} I have 15 left now! No, peri, I just came back from shopping... was it successful... did it generate interest? *Hoping*
have to go and get supper fixed
take care all
may be back later
Well, Scarlet, there was a major spelling error. They had heath instead of health. Only response I got so far was from another magazine. They wanted to know if I would place an ad with them. Much more money than Tails. I said not at this time
missing 2 pe 6/21 1 is between more moss and alert
I e-mailed the person I placed the ad with and asked for compensation, ie. discount on next months ad or an additional month at no charge to me
OH, peri... in publishing, when you are paying for an advertisement, you can call and nicely demand that because of the spelling error, they should be willing to run the ad one more time at no cost to you.
oa - - -
i need one more le 4/4 i have the le's
Exact same posts, peri! Hi, Karys!
I am waiting to hear from her Scarlet
the other is between tiny and stroked
Past tense for having moved the boat in the water, and what a western movie or television show is called (think of the grain)
Scarlet, a baking question. If I make brownies and want to freeze them what should I place them in
before I put them in the freezer that is
HOw long can they stay in the freezer. was thinking of putting them in foil and then in a freezer bag.
Wait until they are completely cool... very important. Then wrap tightly in Saran or other plastic wrap. Then wrap in heavy-duty aluminum foil, and then place in a Zip-lok bag!
ok, thanks so much
They can be frozed for at least six to eight weeks, peri.
*(frozen* I cannot type today!
i liked frozed :-)
Is the last to8,40 off the two before it?
My BRAIN is frozed... LOL
yes, asg, just different last letter from the to8 above it
asgreen... it is the one who to8/45
clues pls... missing 2 pe 6/21 1 is between more moss and alert. the other is between tiny and stroked

Wow... it's a double-header!! Way to go, Judi!
yea judi
good on you!
Thanks, anyway, tizer... I'll poke along!
I was stuck on that same te.
LOL... glad the monkeys were awake!
scarlet is our hero
house selling is nightmarish... especially when the agent is being a fool! I was very angry at the auction cause he knew what we wanted to sell the house for, but he brought around auctioners who had $50,000 less.... a**hole
the last ta5?
ok all - if cubfan comes online pls send my warmest...
Oh, no! Oh, mrp... I am so sorry for the anguish!
I only have a couple of handful and feetful of a's and b's to go
Like the sticky road covering with a double consonant and the second vowel on the end.
well, I let him have it (a piece of my mind anyway) and he brought up people all through the afternoon who loved our house and the price we were asking
still glowing with spray tan, mrp??
So, did the house sell, Mr. P? Or did you tell the auctioneer to go pound sand?
I am hoping that it all works in your favor, mrp!
urg, thx Scarlet! glad you got so ahead of me! :)
LOL, asgreen.. glad to help! :-)
What a dimwit agent. Assuming he/she is going to make a commission on the sale - you'd think he'd want to bring in the most qualified buyers.
told the auctioneer to pound pavement and eat sand if he thought for one minute we were accepting $50,000 less
Judi, the problem is that he is attracting buyers that don't have enough money... making them feel all gooey about our house, then when we reject their pathetic offers, he sells them a less desirable house.
disgusting
I guess that integrity is not high on the priority list of this agent, mrp.
darn - I gotta go again - man time flies! 44 left - bbl
Again, what a dimwit. Only making more work for himself. Well, hope it all works out in the end. Last thing you need is the aggravation, I'm sure.
Later, asgreen!
hi une! yes it is.... this is what makes selling houses such a nightmare, the agent!
as songwiriter nil lara says"it's money that makes the monkey dance" hi all
bye green :)
hi {{{{owl}}}}!
{{{{mr P}}}}
no offense to all good monkeys in babbleonia....
best be getting the kids off to school, back later! bye all :))

Nope, haven't been there yet for Xmas shopping. I live about 1/2 mile from there and rarely go! But used to travel great distances for outlets. Figures!
en 6 = add a vowel to the 5/10 above it

not neccessarily but usually
9th and 7th
ohh close in age huh?
They have a volunteer hour requirement, here..I guess it varies by county.
My daughter is in 7th.
clues for the ti8/40 and the to8/40? (I'm guessing they are same ending)
bet they love that krista?
We supposedly have that but it is built into the school day as it was difficult to get the kids to do the extra hours outside of school. Not sure how it is built in though
momof did you get the 45?
yes, but can't get the 40
ti 8/40 is the same word as above with the other common ending
same with the to
** fish **
Yeah, that's strange. My kids aren't old enough for that yet, MLFAN, but I hear the older kids in the neighborhood grumbling about it all the time. I think it's a good thing, personally, but I would have hated it at that age, too!
it's my son that is in 7th grade for me, 9th is also a daughter
well i suppose it would depend on what they were doing instead krista i mean lots of kids dont like school so anything to get out of it lol
It's in ADDITION to their school hours. That's why they hate it. :) Yes, I'd have jumped on anything to get out of school. For sure.
aww after school activities are fun lol
my phantom today..PATTERN

that was mine too
i have about fifty zillion phantoms. this is the worst grid ever.

hi, TO
Oh, sorry...was multitasking...I"m at a standstill now, Praise! Hi TO!
hey there
hi To
sorry krista
need some clues?
hello all -- not going to start. our power is out and I only have the connection while I have the generator running. Not sure when power will be restored...
I"ll help if I can
But I've made a pretty good dent in the r's...
hi TO and Stid
Hi Stid! Saw the report on CNN today about your crazy weather. Wow.
stid, you are gettinga hurricane - or for us a winter hurricane is called a nor'easter
hi TO, stid, and all other recent logons.. what a day! Am back to hopefully finish.. happy babbling to you all, weather or not, lol!
hi aloy!
yes, praise, thanks..the re 6's are eluding me, if you have clues for any of those
hi aloy
any in particular?
re 6.21: fixed your shoelaces again
sorry, I meant specifically the re 6/18's
retied
hi there, angelinaxox.. (-:
someone who leases a house
DOH...and already had that one too boot
ooh, ok... rip again, Krista.. lol, you got that one!
that is the only 6/18 I have
someone who leases...
to narrate a story again...
that re is 6/21
ba 8 and ba 7 clues please?
re + te4/4 (2nd)
and who leases again
no, the 6.21 is the past tense
Ok, you can tell I don't use the list a lot..I though they were in order of tile count..it's the three 6/18's that are all together..after thee re 4/4
well, i always miss the obvious ones:)
a person who secures against a storm, ba 8.50
ba8 = ba6/24 + 'more' ending; ba7 = ba6 above it with the 'i' vowel
ty, sure i just typed that one
oops, phone.. brb
last re 6,18 that i have is re + anagram of a word meaning adolescent
i mean what else could it have been given i have the words before& after?
help with the ae words, plz
lol TO
ok, got them...thanks for the clues! lol...i'm a disaster
and the 7? my oven is calling to me to turn dinner over
Mom of five
ae 7 is past tense of ae 6
got the ba 6 and 7, but the 8 was confusing?
yes, redturtlehead?
need ae 6 to know what past tense is
Ae words, think about airing out something
clue for do7-32 please
Sorry I typed your name and then accidently hit enter!
thanks, redt., that helped and I got them both!
ok brb
the 2nd one
YW!
do7 is the more ending of 6/21
now for the de9/60?
de9, like an obstaclle
something intended to keep you from doing something
lets ee, something that stops something..
bbl..taking a scrabulous break
like an obstacle - how?
de 9 builds on de 5
LOL sorry, was watching the school bus back up down the road -- there's a power line down a few houses away.
7/32 take the other 6/21 and put in an r before the last 2 letters
I figured that, but just can't seem to get the last four letters.
bye krista
Krista, scrabulous is being less-than fabulous to me today.
there are places under water that are usually high and dry in the worst weather.
and the normally wet places... *look of amazement*
Mom of 5, clue for the last 4 letters...someone who does not own a home, ****s one. sorry it isn;t the most clever clue
mom the ending is re 4,4
Ah, I was leaving out the double cons at the end. Thanks!
ty phaeton for clue
i did the same thing at first trying to figure out to spell that word, lol
yw, crp
Still don't understand the clue for the ba8 word, any help?
anything over 7 letters, I lose count and just try to monkey - usually failing!
lol
ba8 = ba6 above it with er ending
the person who ba***** down the hatches is a ba*
also a term for a cotton wad
I have 17 tg, but must take offspring to music lessons! BBL
it would have helped to have the ba.....en word first, lol, i was trying to work off the other ba word
thx for the clues mom5 and banana
bye mom, take care
OK, I am back after my shower. I feel abit better but back to not getting up! Who want's a clue?

it's the to8's that i don't have
TI 8/45 TI 8/40 to 8/45 TO 8/40
thx banana
yw
much easier to figure out if you use lickety's list
ok, got one to8/45, clue for the last one?
I am good, I just have been working hard on my daughter's graduation project all day, so she can graduate this year. It is an insane requirement that her class is the last to have to do and I am helping her as she has AP classes that take up alot of time
Banana, can't use lickety, it makes my computer crash
just change the ending of the other one phae to ending that means more so
I don't know why, it's the only link that does that.
a person who to6/18's is a to8/45
just change the ending for the other TO 8
bye all, see you next grid.. have to babble and run today, unfortunately.. (-;
got it, thanx phan, banana, and angel
see ya
bye aloy, take care
bye, aloy
I hate all the "must do" projects schools seem to be piling on. They are truly possible and reasonable only for children who don't have to work, and whose parents can help in some capacity.
bye aloyisius
well my daughter doesn't work but she does sports and has 2 ap classes, plus being a senior is having to do all the college app stuff too. Next term she will have 3 AP classes!
This project requires like 120 hours of work! well she got 8 out of me today!
late to the game today - but here I go... hope you're all having an easily solvable night! :)
like I said... LOL
well, it's time to light candles and turn the generator off.
see you-all tomorrow.

hi asgreen, don't have the list out yet so i'm not sure which is the last one
it's a ba 7,36
k that is my last one
ba7/36, more than the ba6/24
nettier
ba 7, 35 inserts an extra vowel in the ba 6 before it, someone who is more crazy

shall we talk about te's? i have 9 to go..
8 to go rather
first time playing this, how do you know how many of each letter, length of word, etc?
not done all my te's either hawk
it should be on the page, but if not: http://licketysplitaus.googlepages.com /babbleclues.html
down at the bottom of the grid under friends of babble is a listing for lickety's babble clues
it will give you the first two letters of every word and will tell you many letters and how many points each word is worth
i have 12 te's left,lol
7 to go.. if you want to share some te clues, i have all the others
i gotta get off a few, son wants on
k bye sq, take care
thanks, hawk and ang
bye all, bbl
bye, sq.
you're welcome lead
sq catch u later
do u people print out the lickety clues
and then do the grid
hi everyone
i just have it open by my babble page and use it as needed
that was my next question nana..great minds, etc.
hi mom
oh both on the same screen
are we sharing te clues? i am struggling with them
hiya mom
Hi Angelina :)
Hi ya Nut :)
i just open the clues when i get towards the end lead and nana
hey nut and mom!
Nut, are you and hubby nut feeling better?
Hi Eieios :)
i think my computer has indidgestion
why is that, Nut?
can't get firefox to close *clickclickclickclick*
hmmm...
te 6,18 is te + 3rd re 4,4
ok, it closed...stupid thing
i was ordering up some free babblecast stuff....but i think that site might have been shifty
oh geez, Nut
thx, angel
well, if the stuff really came, i was gonna give it away in a contest
do you have the one before that angel? i just monkeyed it
hey lead can u understand ang;s clue for the te words
lol
how about the te 5/10 after the place you sleep when you camp?
nana and lead, did you pull up lickety's page?
i filled in the most i could
then i game up
gave
there is a bulk add at the bottom of lickety's page where you can copy and paste your list from the babble page
ha! i know why it froze up! stupid firefox
sorry lost my connection
why?
hey, peeps
no, i don't get what she's saying either, but this is my first time playing, so i figure i'll just struggle along till i get the hang of it
{{Tyger}} hello
firefox decided it wanted to update, thought it was supposed to wait
nutty, it might not be FF or your computer. the web is crazy today
that would do it, I suppose.
lol lead
what's crazy about the web today?
hi tyger
eie, thanks for your help, but i only can go in and out of this computer, dont know anything about cut and paste,
I've got a medium DSL connection (moderately fast, IOW), but I've been getting "unable to connect" messages all afternoon
i think vista print IS shady, those jerks
nana, it's on lickety and you can do it even if you are in and out
hey, ange
don't have that te yet eieios
missed mom's greeting ((mom)), sorry
no biggie Tyger
trying to do too many things. :P
lead, I've been playing for a couple of weeks, and I am still stuggling
hi all
back ton finish - hi all who joined!
Hi Cathyar
angie, which one are you talking about now? i got the 5, it is te + **nt and rave + personal pronoun
te5/10 for eie: te + ***n clouds + vowel
thank you, Eieios
hey, TO
Hi TO
Hi TO and cathy
*tosses dark hershey's kisses to the crowd*
penny, you'll get the hang of it
glad to hear i'm not alone, penny
well i went to lickety and went to the bottom of the page, saw the cip board, etc,,,would that put those words on this page where i am now
thank you TO
yw, mom!
all you newbies - welcome. I recommend you read the "help" link. and then you try Lickety's page (link in list at lower left hand corner of this page). that's where we get those 2 letter thingies with numbers that we talk about
owlly baaaaaaybeeeeeeeee
that was the one thanks eieios
:)
nutty buuuuuuuuuuuuuudy!
one thing is for sure, you cant be afraid of these computers like i am
nana, the only way Lickety's page puts things here is with Babble Expert. I recommend you learn a bit more about Babble before you try that. I'm afraid it would merely cause greater confusion for beginners
don't worry about the shady mom, i think i achieved 100% damage control.
wassup nut?
i found that page, typed in the words i found, then wrote them all out on paper, and copied them here, lol,,,
nana, the computer won't bite, I promise. It's just a machine, sort of a glorified typewriter.
procrastinating owl, i'm supposed to be packing and finishing up laundry
nana, that's not too different from what I used to do.
nana if you highlight all your words in your list next to the grid and hit copy, you can then go to the bulk add on lickety and hit paste there
lol tyger
lacking? where goest thou?
you mean packing? back to the hospital again.
ange, that's only with Explorer (of course, if nana's a real computer novice, Explorer is probably in use there)
lol
nutty, why the hospital?
4 te's to go. i need help with the 8, 7, 5 and 5 after it....
what's wrong? ((((nutty))))
hot damn! just monkeyed do7/32! bananas all around *tosses fruit to greedy monkeys*
what 8, eieos?
6 and 5 after the 8 rather
i see, it's that time again...
i'm just the company guys...gear down. me hubber.
yay, TO!
lol TO
the te 8, tyger
now word is frozen...yeesh
highlighted them but nothing on screen says copy
enjoy your puzzle,,,i will get the hang of it someday
it won't say it on screen, nana (some Explorer user, speak up)
ok ty
Nutty, I like your icon.
I'll be thinking about ya tomorrow, nut
I don't use Micro$haft stuff, except where unavoidable
right click your mouse, nana, and it will give you the option.
spanks mom!
you highlight, then click right mouse button. a window will open, click copy
what's the matter with your hubber, nut?
te 8, think land without the first vowel at the end + she in spanish
I think I am going to call it a night. Take care everyone. Nutty, will be thinking of hubby nut and you. {Hugs}
he has the cancer
Night Mom
good night all and pleasant dreams
night mom, sleep tight, and look out for them bed bugs
nite, mom
gn mom

k i will lol
how about the te 7/28?
spanks nutty - as if anybody wants to have dirty thoughts about another couple! tsk, tsk
oh goodie - I'm back again for a bit! Kiddies are in bed, hubby went to play tennis, just me and 40 words to go!
wb asgreen
i could say something about the decay of society and morals tyger, but...i guess i just did
tx angel!
the te7/28 is another earth word. double consonant, and vowel, cons, vowel
you're talking about how old I am nutty? LOL
hey, green! all ready for the holiday?
getting there - I take it day by day - have the first few all done! :)
eieos, those 2 vowels at the end are the same one, 2nd
that's right, it's a daily thing. (smacks head to jar memory)
any young kids for choc coins?
do 8 clue please?
or vice versa :)
some (organized) people have all 8 days ready to go - I have everything ordered - just hoping everything gets here on time! have the coins, have the candles, have the stuff for latkes (potato pancakes)
hubby is taking off tomorrow (my bday!!) and he's doing a lot of cooking for tomorrow night - the latkes are fun but a mess...
I have everything almost done Green.. lots of wrapping for hte kidlet still
I think that's a bird, TO. do double cons, (based on preceding 6), just add Spanish masc. article
*the
happy B-day
that was for green :)
We usurp the dreidel/gelt thing...kids love it
we played the dreidel game in our kindergarten class today, the kids had a blast
hey, feather
ty tyger
good for you dr - I need to wrap!! tx tyger!
yep, and gave them gelt too. some of them actually saved it for home...although i had to tell one that his pocket probably wasn't a wise place to keep it!
hi feather, i'm playing it later in the week with the class
I still need to buy menorah candles though
LOL, feather
it's really hard to find gelt without a peanut warning
lol feather
dr - target, bed bath beyond, cvs - all had nice ones
with so many who have a life-threatening allergy, I'm not surprised
nice to see ya, Feather, Dreidel Master
we did a couple rounds whole group, then just let them go off on their own with it. they did well!
TY I will check Target- its the closest
yeah, tis the season to have the stinking dreidel song stuck in my head 24/7...
I was just singing that! lol
lol
Also the Adam Sandler song..not for kids, tho
bwahaha, if i can't get rid of it, i can at least infect others with it!
lol - love the Adam S. song
Krista- you made me laugh
going back to scrabble, had to add my 2 cents
ok - sigh - beginning to focus on remaining 38
please. a clue for the final pe5/12? ty
bye feather, have fun
(i always keep an eye on chat in between scrabble moves)
C- Ya Feather
oops, just noticed the time. gotta go for now.

good night lead and take care
see ya tomorrow
night lead
i'm back- ready to tackle the last 6 te's
who wants to help?
wb hawk
working on those too hawk
Last 6?
""Oy vey** to that..thank you, for the clue, green
the 6 builds off the 5 with a vowel at end... the * has an ending like an object which keeps rain off you (umb*****)
yw
That's the type of word I would have felt stupid for trying.
thanks
may i have a clue for the third te 6,21?
the 7 - ter + Jim Carey flick me, myself + i****
Hi, all
hi pam
te + re4,5
Hi Pam! Are you freezing up there?
hi, angel and krista
thanks uni, got it
It's cold outside, krista, but I like winter!
hi pam
i only like it if there's snow..we had flurries today. I was so excited. It was pathetic
can I have a clue for the te8,40?
expecting something wednesday maybe?
We had snow, then it melted--an inch or two--then more flurries...
not more than flurries i hope..
dumb question of the night..in Scrabble, what happens if there is nowhere for either player to play her remaining tiles?
te 8 think land without the first vowel at the end + word that means she in spanish
they subtract their own unused tiles and add the others unused tiles
Oh yes! Here's what yahoo says for us, hawknoah:Cloudy with intermittent snow showers and flurries becoming a steady light snow later. Cold. High 33F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 80%.
tx angel!!
May I have a clue for the 2nd re 5,10?
you're welcome
yikes! maybe you're getting it worse in Hagerstown
each player does that, hawk? (the forecast was for Wed.)
i believe so
don't have 'em yet angel
that makes sense, thank you
weather.com says light snow, high of 39 for Frederick wednesday
We have a field trip..always snows on field trip days
2nd re 5.10: think a part of the high minus a consonant before the last letter
i'll believe it when i see it though-- here they cancel school for anything
probably just when my daughter's ready to go back to school too
see you all tomorrow!
I can't get the te8--don't know "she" in spansih...
Night, TO
2nd te 6.18 pls-- it's my last one
bye TO, have a good night

eiei the 5 and the 6?
for he's a jolly good f****, slang way to say that word pam
gotta go..have a great evening, folks
pam, land minus the last vowel + E*** the fashion mag, but change the last vowel
I just got the te 5 - don't have the 6 (last te I need) - bye Krist!

add a vowel to the end of the te 5,10 before it
thx hawk! and uni too!
2nd te - te + double consonant + first and second vowels
te 6.18 please.....

can't wait to read your review on it Feather.
excerpt: Still in my coat and hat, I sank onto the stair to read the letter. (I never read without making sure I am in a secure position. I have been like this ever since the age of seven when, sitting on a high wall and reading "The Water Babies", I was so seduced by the descriptions of underwater life that I unconsciously relaxed my muscles. Instead of being held buoyant by the water that so vividly surrounded me in my mind, I plkummeted to the ground and knocked myself out. I can stell feel the scr under my fringe now. Reading can be dangerous.) pardon any typos, was typing that without looking up
that paragraph was on the second page in, and was when i started loving the book
i've just put it on my wish list! thanks feather.
