I don't know about the film, but I read the books as soon as they came out. I am a fan of reading, but generally dislike fantasy...it is like Lord of the rings, only for tweens...and not horrible.

I don't see how they could possibly make the movie nearly as interesting as the book. There are so many small details that draw you in, I think the movie is going to be bad.

Personally, I find Harry Potter to be incredibly more gruesome, depressing and scary than those books. Especially since the further you go in Harry Potter, the darker it gets. This trilogy does have an obvious social commentary on religion, etc...but kids don't get that! Only in re-reading years later did I extrapolate that

Well, I am off. Back to reality, and glorifying some evil, based on a belief in a big head in the sky.
so daniel had that bug wednesday, threw up most of the day. we were home yesterday, he got a teeny bit sick in the am, but the rest of the day held down toast and popsicles, and even had grilled cheese for dinner last night. was fine at the sitters all day today. i went to pick him up, he said his tummy hurt, and just now got sick again! but he otherwise is acting 100% normal. chattering, playing, etc. what's up?
