i am watching an amazing story of survival about a couple and baby who got lost in the snow in Canada... it is up to day 8... wow
sted
oops, guess that also gave my lurking up...
where in Canada, mrp?
I am going to check now jilli
hi Red, sure did
Hello Lynx...
well, it isn't a word at least, in my defense...
Can not sleep.
there was a similar story sometime ago I thought in Washington or Oregon
was "sted" for "busted?"
LOL, pretty much I guess.
go chic
fran, chic is experiencing difficulties
she is taking her turn
lol, okay mrp
she can't get back into babble, so she is letting me know when to let you go, got it? :)
And i am back. grumble why are boys so difficult
ok fran, go
jilli - Lost in the Snow Driving through the Sierra Nevadas en route to a family funeral, Jim Stolpa, his wife and five-month-old baby encounter a raging blizzard that leaves their truck stranded in a snowdrift.
got it mrp
is that in Canada?? or US
How are you all
they were stranded for 9 days... he left her and the baby alone on the 6th day to go find help
isnt he the one who chose to walk through the mountains instead of following the road he came in on?
they drove off track during a blizzard, into a national park... then they left the truck and walked the wrong way
yeah, I remember that story
they were 50 miles from help... that is alot of 'track' to get lost on
amazingly, they survived!! they lost their toes, but the baby was fine
That's in the USA, mrp -- I remember hearing about it
oh sorry, I wasn't sure... the production company is Canadian perhaps
fran, chic is asking if you are going
i am
I think there was a similar story where the man died, only a short distance from the family
she can go now
ok, will tell her
Is this grid hard?
last year james kim died trying to get help for his family. his wife and two kids survived. i think that was in oregon.
herin, I have 115 words in about 30 min...not too bad, so far.
he was in a tech field so the story was all over the internets
ah, lickety heard about that one...
go fran
I get surprised and disgusted at how many people do not realise when traveling across country to have fuel, water food and warm clothes and emergancy gear incase of said emergancy
there is nearly 90 freaking C words oh crap
sometimes herin....things happen that are very unexpected...I almost ran out of gas on my trip because for some reason there is a streth of I- 40 with basically no services...
Thats what a jerry can of fuel is for
I can believe that they don't know to carry this gear (some of us from the Deep South don't understand what cold is, or what it can really do) but I am SHOCKED by the number of people who routinely leave their friggin' cars!
go chic
Sam i love your icon
ok fran
Thank you :)
hi sam :) yes, leaving their car was their undoing
yes, but I ould never normally carry a fuel can on a major highway....I-40 is not a small country road, its like a 4 lane highway...usually there are signs to warn, hey...last gas for 200 miles...
I saw a show very much like the one that was being talked about earlier--and even though the baby was fine, both parents lost their LEGS from the hip down.
We used to go four wheel driving and always had gear in car
I think if you are going 4 wheeling, you might expect more problems, then just driving down a highway.
fran, chic is packing it in... facebook closed down on her for maintanence... she said she will finish tomorrow with you
I love the fact that kids can go into hypostatus in the cold
I love the fact that kids can go into hypostatus in the cold
sorry about the double the soding Cs have got me in a tiss
You must have run into this on the Texas stretch. I remember I did it about ten years ago at night and found a 200+ mile stretch with NOTHING on it.
she is rebooting, so perhaps hang about if she can get back ok?
Samantha, that was it! I left Amarillo, and found no gas until San Jon NM...
It was pretty bleak out there...
My b.f and i have this game we call out random things like Tree fence and so on it keeps us amused for hours
Nothing at all for 200 miles, there should be a friggin HUGE sign, or 10!
Yeah, I was going to Big Bend. There's just miles and miles of miles and miles out there, and not a whole lot else.
I thought I was OK, because no signs, but my empty light came on as I was waiting to gas up in San Jon....it was amazing to me how just Nothing was out there....
I really think my mapquest directions should have said something....but...I probably should have gotten gas in Amarillo...
In Nevada, once, M and I were low on gas so we stopped at the first place we had seen in fifty miles. We *almost* filled our tank--*almost* because we ran the gas station out of their last little bit.
Dang. I hate when things that are meant to help you fritz on you
Whew Samntha, thats like the stations here...sometimes they have gas, somedays they do not...
The guy behind us was kinda pissed. There wasn't another gas station for another fifty miles forward and thirty miles back.
my husband and I have a game, where we try and put place names to a word.... it has to end with street, road, valley, inlet etc.... the name we use is Burpengary and we crack up laughing
scary...
Oh Pants is another great game
Pants Herin? Do tell!
burpengary avenue, burpengary carriageway, burpengary glen
Instead of Sleepy Hollow you say Sleepy Pants
It's easy for even most Americans to misunderstand just how big and wasted Texas is. There's no water, nothing grows, and a large part of it just isn't suited to big cities.
So I live on San Gabriel Pants, just off of Double File Trace Pants?
Texas...is big. My biggest shock right now is living here in NM, and seeing how insane someof the living conditions are, like a 3rd world country
yes you do sam!
No it just works for Movies. Mr Pres seems that hers is for streets
Wheeee! I love where I live!
oooh, I live currently on County Pants...
I live in Mt Pants, in Sprigg Pants, just off Northumberland Pants
just off of 76 pants...
ours works for place names
It has to be movies. Um Sleepy Hollow is SLeepy Pants. Um The Bone collector could be The Pants Collector or the Bone Pants
I think I am going to have to take some motrin to sleep....
redturtlehead, this is for you: http://community.livejournal.com/mock_ the_stupid/2942188.html
OOH i love that place
just don't take stilnox

Night Pigeon
holy cow!!! Samantha....Thats exactly how it is, but oddly enough, I can't drink the water at my house. Ok to bathe in, (I hope)....and a ton of people do speak Spanish....
Ah ha! I was wondering if that was where you were, or if you'd vanished
chic says GOODNIGHT!
I should sleep but I can not...
Oddly, I see a lot of that on that community. Just a few weeks back, someone was posting about a flight attendant who refused passage to some fols from FL to NM--BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE PASSPORTS
Ok were are the C words hiding
good night chic!
I have a lot of c words, but probably not enough.
just add the end bits
goodnight Chic wherever you are
I have only 122.
there are 89 C words tonight turtle
I am going to go and pull my hair out, the dog begged to go out and now he will not stop barking....it seems to be his amusement, but it is almost 1 am...
ONLY only only only but but but there is toooooooo many
Red tell him to stop it
Ha! I have 41 C words. I think the dog may just have to come inside.
you go Fran
Ok, dog must come in, he is annoying me.
how can a third of the grid be C words, and there only be 1 C ?
Because there are two Cs
because there are 2?
2 c's mrp
um - that would be 2 MRP
oh heck! now I C it!
haha
sorry, i don't use stats at this time!! durbrain!
Why oh why is everyone spoiling Smallville in my house. My visitors and b.f are really isssing me off. Should i A go out or be tell them off.
mrpresident, i'm going to change my icon for you. Back in a moment.
okay, go muse
SEE? It's my new icon. It's for YOU, Mr. P!
your turn Fran
well, the C has certainly added a few more to my repertoire
I have a few new words
eek!
darn, now dog is in lap...big dog.
lol ty Fran!
el president!???
*grumble* yw
Hello stupid big puppy of cutness
Samantha, my Dad was from TX and his surname was Joy
he says hi....wants to go back to barking
It's a darned good name.
Certainly is....maybe you a long lost relative? lol
poets
your turn muse
Well, if Joy were my surname instead of my middle name, I'd say it was a possibility. As it is, it's unlikely, though the odds are good that we're both descended from Charlemagne.... Almost everyone on the planet is.
e man was a stud.
thanks jilli!
thanks Jilli
how did that happen? What's in the sin bin?
lol sam!
rofl Sam
Fran, you're gonna love this
your turn
I need to go to bed, but I'm not leaving until Mr. P comments on ym new icon that I got JUST FOR HER and the Cs
i knew that was a mistake! good move. :-(
i was thinking..."what's the worst she could have for that spot?"
shucks, and here my imagination was running wild
seems I'm getting dumped with all the high pointers
i hate when it's at the end
okay, go muse
Why is everyone upsetting me tonight
. . . OK, I'm lowering, errrrrrr, CHANGING my standards. It doesn't have to be Mr. P that comments on my new icon that I got JUST FOR HER, it can be *anyone*.
fiiiiireworks!
Hooray for Freep!
my brain must be fried Samantha, coz I'm still trying to figure it out
Congrats, freep!
congrats freep!
You GO, Freep!
Yah Freep
must be bedtime, indeed
I don't get it either, Sam.
oh haha sam, I just got it!
W000T! JILLIBUS GETS A PRIZE!
:D
:D
(Now I can't figure out whether to let the rest of them in on it or not.)
giddy with success
your up Fran
good one sam! (the icon)
Thank you, fran. :D
thanks everyone for not talking to me
just refreshed, sam, and it doesn't show up in chat
yay freep!
who's not talking to you infernal?
infern... ??
Oh, herin, I've been too busy moping about the c's. I apologize.
i just got back from my third shower today... (humidity sucks)... what is wrong mate?
go ahead muse
holy mackerel!!! I missed freep's fantastic finish!!!
Eh, jillibus, it doesn't matter much . . . And infernal, I'm sorry, I didn't see anything that required a response. I must have missed it. And I don't KNOW why everyone is upsetting you tonight, or I would have told you. :)
ah, she said that everyone was upsetting her tonight. sorry infern, I don't think we were intentionally upsetting you. sorry
back at ya Fran
Has anyone seen the movie The Flying Scotsman? It was surprisingly good!!
What's it about?
hi dee :)
herin, I'm sorry you're upset!
a Scottish bicyclist
hi mrp!! Hugs to you and yours.
hi dee hi
you're up muse
Jili!!
hi dee!
ruers
based on a true man. Hi Fran!!
hugs back to you!
eeeep
Hi herin!!!
eeeep sorry
I thoroughly enjoyed Stewart Little earlier tonight -- hadn't seen it before
I don't think I have seen that one jili.
Actually, I was surprisingly impressed by The Dead Zone earlier tonight. :D
your move Fran, hi Dee
(I think it's spelled Stuart Little, if we're thinking of the same movie--that might be a source of confusion)
go muse
What are y'all playing, and where?
Hi Volley
My b.f is being a dick and i get told off for yaking during smallville and this is like our show and hes being mean.
brb
Oh yes, Stuart Little -- about a mouse, with Geena Davis and Hugh Laurie pre-House, but with an American accent
Wow. Sounds as if y'all have some conflicting moods going on.
hi lynxx
Fran
that im tired and i loathe saturday night roll playing. Its getting borring. We cant even have the front door open as people keep leaving the screen door open which means kitty can get out and if she gets out i will not be amused
really and truly, pr4/10 is NOT a real word!
its been in b4 Jilli
thanks jill, hadn't tried it :P
That sounds potentially evil, herin
I think i am tired of being a mum to adults that should know better
anyone remember Oh Mickey (1982)
the song? yes
No, mrp -- a mouse star too?
Oh Mickey Your so fine you blow my mind hey mickey, hey hey hey mickey?
(You're So Fine?)
it is the top 15 dance moves!
AWESOME
she is wearing a cheerleader outfit! and countdown is showing it
i'm back!
duh, we were too busy dog-showing in 1982
RAWK ON!
(I think I just showed my age)
she even has pompoms on her shoes!!!
wb Fran and you're up
yep
I need to go to bed now. Good night all.

G'night, Sam.
Night Sam

I must have missed it . . . Whoops?
*blush*
good afternoon
Oh, I forgot. Could someone explain Sam's icon to me? I'm feeling dumb.
L+MAO
and I'm dumber :(
hi merk!
hi Merk
Hi Merk
Okay. I get it now. Finally!
Hi, merk
sam, please darling, explain your icon!!!
lol, of course, now it makes sense
Mr Pres where did you find that info out?
:-)
hi merk
Well. It's Mao, that is Mao Tse Tung, the leader of the Communist revolution in China and just a generally well known fellow
I was just watching countdown infern...
Who is usually just called by the single name Mao, with an Ell in front.
Cool
L + Mao
it is L + president
and i am el meow!
related to ROFL
Exactly!!!
EL MEEEOOOOOWWWW!
love it, thanks sam... very clever!
phantom: serum
I'm trying to send you message but it's hanging Fran

\I love it it is worth about $500 aus and it rocks
nite all! nite mrp!
nite herin!
I do, jilli, even though only in small. Will need to open your profile in some way to read your story... I so miss having all profiles at my disposal.

night muse
Night My
infernal, i love your icon too!
night muse!
thanks fran -- yours too -- and herin's and muse's
You should have seen b.f when i told him about it he pulled the box of the shelf and sat on the floor like a little kid to look at it
The YMCA threatened to sue cause it implicated that young boys got 'serviced' there... they settled out of court!! How stupid!! the YMCA didn't sue when I. Berlin wrote a song in 1918 called "I can always get a little sunshine at the YMCA".
awwwww lady, that is so sweet
argh mrP, that is stoopid indeed
moost stoopid
they were so nice though, they rereleased the single YMCA in 1999 and donated all proceeds to the YMCA
I thought that silly song was fun
lady, love your icon! Jilli, love your icon plus story!
just hit the revolting re words, of which I've found 2 wee ones
did you see mine sprite?
funny how grownup guys melt at the sight of lego!
I see a HP spell to repair things. It is not valid.
At heart men are little boys
and they need their toys
looking it up just now, Fran. I have to rightclick an icon, get properties, copy the number, then paste it into a profile link in IE. Hold on.
Oh also if you google brick factory you can find all the patterns for all the lego pieces. The lego Death Star has over 100 pages of instructions
There should be a re10.... coming from the ca8.... not impressed dr.g. Update your enable man!!!
what a pain sprite!
I love it, Fran! Looks like IronMan in a meditative moment ;)
is that to re ca the floor mr pres?
i almost used a lego wedding cake that i found also
it is, Fran. I would be so grateful if someone could solve this weird problem for me.
I am watching Blue Crush and im sorry but hard co? chick surfers do NOT wear bikini tops
Do any of you remember the Emotions..... ?? Dance, Boogie Wonderland! That is so pre-jacksons look! now I know where the jacksons ripped it from
http://tinyurl.com/7t4uy
I don't remember
infern, you were but a glimmer in the eye....
I even remember that song
check out that link, it has pictures of a tiered wedding cake made from legos. it even had a slice that could come out.
THat is awesome
mrp, those are still popular dance songs
Oh, must tell grandson! Brb
Man i wish hollywood would do a realistic chic surfing flick
remember, my hubby is a DJ. :-)
Fran, great link!
yes, very cool
oh hang on! Blondie!! Heart of Glass.... it was considered too disco, they wrote it as a R&B song... even though it was originally called 'the disco song'
i'm the one you're using, please don't push me aside....
dude
those lyrics don't sound disco
dudette !
ah, yes, springs back into memory now. And... Denis Denis?
(spelling definitely wrong)
what are you listening to or reading mrp?
Watching Blue Crush and bemoaning the fact that the girls are wearing bikinis in massive surf
Anyone wanna guess how Debbie Harry came up with her name "Blondie" ??
hmm, how mrp?
It was cause Truck Drivers would yell that out to her as they passed her by on the road
Hello all. I'm back. Got kicked off the internet completely so made tea and toast to give it a rest. It worked!
Rock and roll song "Straycat st5/12"
WOOWOOO aussie brand in a hollywood movie
I am getting this all from the best of dance moves - VH1 - Countdown. I love stuff like this

Evening/morning everyone.
our library roof sprung another leak with all the rain we've been having

Hiya Franny!
Hi again, moon.
wb Woof
hello again woof
hi moon
Hi again to Everyone (so as to avoid filling up the chat log =)
hi woof
Tried to load my icon and the ISp freaked out.
is that anikin in your lego icon?
Or i had a huge coincidence...
nice icon
Technically, no,.. I never managed to get a good picture of the whole thing... It was a wall of legos with stuff "coming out" of it at the lego museum
very cool, whoever it's supposed to be
rather creepy, moon!
There were people walking up close to it to see better so it was hard to get a picture w.o people in it.
it is great. It is an optical illusion AND a lego icon.
yay! found my last 8
Sorry, jilli. But I thought it was the best done part... And it's easier to see that it's legos.
congrats, Fran! Found my first thanks to mrP a little while ago
You could pretend it's anakin, if that helps lol
well done Fran - I've got 2!
well, if it really was, ata would have made an appearance. :-)
{{applause for fran}}
standing by to give stats if anyone wants them
Ata will appreciate it, even if it only LOOKS like Anakin ;)
hey had to cook tee
Cool then we'll tell her that =)
I meant creepy GOOD, creepy EFFECTVE!
And it seems to go with herin's... so cool.
yay fran!
wb infernal
jilli is not easily afraid of creepy, I think :)

Babble Land Roles & Responsibilites is a fun project!
LOL, sprite -- and YAY fran!!!
i like the colors in yours better, tho jilli... It fascinating... is that your son?
Snap moon
not my son, moon!
jilli's profile stories are always worth reading, woof!
Dern, but good. I figured I should ask before I said he was cute lol
No her son is the hottie in one of her photos
Somebody called Nathan Sawaya
Oh herin, he'll get a kick out of that -- or are you looking at my grandson (your age)?
i believe the hottie is jilli's grandson infernal. although jilli's son is also handsome
I did, Spritey, but that part has a bunch of ????'s. It was hard to tell if it was saying it Was or wasn't her son... So I checked =)
*grin* Yeah, copying/pasting often does that in babble land.
wow, i just realized the hand is also made out of lego. very cool!
I'm beginning to really dislike it =P
cut this paste that blech
dislike babble land? :)
ah, I see :P
Ok. When I got booted I was staring at this Same stoopid last word... anyone have the te6.27?
hah, Z greyed out.
i do now
jilli, in your pics on your profile, i see a pic called meeting the ferry... are you in that pic? and which lovely lady are you?
not me, but I eagerly await a clue :)
te*hnology + ***s are for heartburn
No. Like babble very much. Dislike the cut and paste part when my BE jams up.
milks?
ah, got the word, and now I know what to take for heartburn ;)
thanks Fran
sorry sprite, US brand name, think big digit on the hand minus the H and the B
yw sprite
Thanks, Fran
I have that one, sorry Fran, I should have said the 2nd te6.27.
i went through two gigantic bottles of that stuff when i was pregnant. i had awful heartburn
yw jellen
94 words into the grid I wonder if it is a tough grid or not. Did some people finish already?
TY Fran s'have remembered that one
oh Fran, so did I! Both times.
You could also call it chalk tablets lol
turd
now now, lynxxx, not calling names now
Lynx! You dawg...
thats a big oops - sorry
LOL
mrp, I'm the one on the left. The names are in the caption underneath. I think it's stid next to me, then flosey, then hetty and then...dilly, who died a little while ago.
......and your point is lyn?
LOL lynxx! too cute
hmm, don't have that one moon, but i found the Toyota

Little people on the brain can cause damage, Sprite =)

well jilli! lickety thinks you are pretty 'nice'!! you are very lovely looking and stid is a hun! (he says MILF) and the other girls are all gorgous too!
soon I will be able to blame Munchkins though :D
he is berating me for that, but it is what he said!
BTW, I think I fixed the ????s in the text. They happen when you copy and paste something with curly quotation marks, some accents and such.
thanks, Lickety and mrp
indeed so, jilli. Nice of you to fix it :D
if he said so, he will stand by it. Or else.
Ty, jilli. Nice to know that, too.
now to tackle the Ts...
hm, now I see I cannot open View Entire Chat log either, anymore. Could someone please post the link for me?
hey mrp, is st5/12 on that vh1 countdown?
http://www.playbabble.com/1754#chat_lo g

Straycat st5/12 maybe, Fran. And thanks for the link!
yw
oh my.... ok, those that wanted to know about the movie "I am Legend"... don't watch it if you have a friend/family member who has cancer. It is scary
I got it. Finally finished. Woohoo!
yay moon!!!
and, most of it seems to be CGI... blue screen production
phantom: eremite
yay moon
CgI about cancer? that seems like a wierd combo.
te 6/21 abbr for A police officer who investigates crimes, and a short word for stomach
That's the te6/27
hi cyborg!
I am only calling it as I see it
Ty, Cyborg, even tho I found it I appreciate the clue. And morning =)

hi fran
Hi Cyborg
hi herin
happy new year to you all
same to you cyborg!
hi cyborg!
happy new year to you too
Hmm. I guess I'll have to go find a trailer. Unless it's like Fantastic Voyage I'm having trouble imaging what they would CGI about cancer... brb
And to you, as well, cyborg.
monsignoir presidente
hi cyborg!
what is CGI ?
computer generated imagery
hi Jill, long time no speak
or something to that effect
ah, of course, thanks Fran.
the cgi is not about the cancer. sigh
and thanks, cyborg, for the te6
yw sprite
Well trying to get dinner the kitty attached me
where ya bin, cyborg?
lol mrp
ergo, the cancer is not about the cgi... whatever... loose cannons don't get much results
herin, I bet she did, and attacked you too!
Jill, been waiting for my name to fall off the top spot of the stats lol, it has been there all year now and I have hardly done any puzzles
it won't drop too much unless you start a puzzle and not finish it cyborg
wow cyborg! that certainly shows how much it means!! LOL... good on you!
that's probably why it stayed there, cy. I don't bother to look at them
i WANT my own place
Yes my 10 year old had been doing them and not finishing them but still I am up there
oh infern! you don't mean that! just be patient darling... have some 'me' time
no i want my place with him
hmf, that's odd, cy!
Cybog i think my stats are droping daily as i don't get time to finish
Cybog, that is a new one, sounds like a toilet lol
oh good lord sorry. I am tired and brain fried
everybody is at the top of all rankings, lol. With his or her own amount of points behind the name.
well, I'm over half way but the U tile is still empty -- too pooped to party though.
oh jilli! enjoy your sleep tonight :)
jilli, remember the name lynxxx called us all? drop the T and make plural
and sleep well, dear lady. Dream of nice and naughty things ;)

oh LOL, remember the Shining? I see the Re6 word. And only then I realise the 'real' word is here AND valid!
sprite, i did the exact same thing, almost announced it to the chat!
Yeah, that Re6 isnt valid =)
sometimes it is scary, how much in sync we are, Fran :) But I love it.
:-)
I don't remember the Shining. :-(
Jellen: when you kill someone on purpose, it is called .....
Some people dont want to, Jellen. Jack Nicholson was also creepy in it.
it's scary jellen, the book more than the movie (at least for me)
Oooh. Got it, thanks!
for me too, Fran. Just like Christine.
yvw, Jellen :)
i would read those books late into the night and then stay up later scaring myself with the shadows around the room
lol, yes.
It's way past time for me to be asleep, so I shall bid you all adieu.
sleep well, Jellen!
goodnite Jellen
oh jilli! enjoy your sleep tonight :)

Take care lynxx
back for the rest of my words :) Hi all.
wb Sprite - just came back myself
wb lynxxx :)
funny grid. Everytime I think I really have hit the wall, something opens up again and I find new ones. Might finish without list still.
I've found one in 5 minutes! but holding out for inspiration, hate it when you go to the list and see all the simple ones
o yes, that s*cks. But there are quite a few not-that-simple ones in this grid too, for me.
no simple words no difficult words just words knock em off one by one by one and done
its the finding them thats the trick!
some hide from me on purpose
after make sure you have you resistentialism app on
I will, as soon as I have figured out what that is :D
resistentialism (ri.zis.TEN.shul.iz.um) n. The belief that inanimate objects have a natural antipathy toward human beings, and therefore it is not people who control things, but things which increasingly control people.
so Babble doesn't like us then?
lol, so it is a form of paranoia. I have heard that being paranoid still does not mean they are NOT after you...
Good morning Babblers! I have a bit of time to play before I go to work and see sick kids for 6 hrs.
hi Scrabbler! *hug*
morning Scrabs
Morning Babblers!
well, I only get flat tires when I try to get somewhere ... if I wasn't trying to get somewehere the tire would be just fine! What would maude ficket thing of THAT?
lol Rabble!
Hi Nono
((Sprite))---how are you doing? My friend and I were talking about life in the US getting crazier by the minute and how I want to move to where my Babble friends live---like Holland, or NZ or Oz.
hi Nanette! Am enjoying your vids.
thanks sprite
Hi Nanette--as usual, we enter the gates of Babble Land at the same time.
you would be very welcome here, Scrabbler. What exactly in life in the US is bothering you?
Maude Ficket ? an american thing? is it rhyming slang BabRab?
we are getting quite good at that Scrabs
Idiotic people, Sprite.....politicians, everyone---loss of common sense, civility, respect, responsibility, humanity...
should be maude frickert
I suppose it is a global issue, but I want to live in utopia--where is that?
no such thing as common sense
none the wiser BabRab
common sense is based on stereotypes that are learned without any critical thought to accuracy
let me see. Dutch politicians... are as crazy as from any other country. Comes with the job. Can't speak the truth to save their lives. For the rest, things are usually a little more relaxed here than in the States. Even more relaxed in Belgium, btw. Still, Europe seems to follow in the US's wake in many things. There is quite some madness here as well.
I am increasingly disappointed in the choices and behavior of people--does that mean I am turning into my mother? Are the time-release genes taking effect?
I know, common sense is not so common at all.
disappointment is the result of expectations. ;)
cynicism is a reaction to deflated idealism
You had better stay in the US Scrabs, I think you add immeasurably to the community. But have you heard of "cranky old women"
an optimist thinks we live in the best world possible. A pessimist is afraid that is tr4.
How low can I go with my expectations? And how much more cynical can I get? It seems like people and society are devolving or regressing.
better stop having expectations and just trying to live as well as you can? Easier said than done, though.
I do try to make a difference in my community, but I want to scream and shout and make the world a better place right now.
Yay for Scrabbler! *hugs* for you for caring about this.
I fear for the future and as I get older I realize I have less time to make a difference.
I look at the grid and see R's laughing at me, haha.
I found the Cs hardest.
doublethink panglossian disorder and cognative polyphasia and machiavellian cabals
Oh, dear. 58 + 31 = really big number, yikes.
Is that the solution, BR?
mine to remind peoplle the government exists though the consent of the governed
So many of the governed are idiots though.
fireworks :) And that was a real impressive entry, Rabble. Got right over my head.
Woweeee Sprite. I am right behind you with 235 to go.
that our representatives do not acquire respect respect from their status
I will have to look up a few of those words, BR.
Well done Sprite !!
that was close then, Scrabbler!
thanks lynxxx :) Any help needed before I go?
woohoo Sprite Congrats!
am enjoying the origami, Nanette!
that the governed may make informed decisions only if the governors doe not lie to them or hide essential facts
which is never
right now the words are flowing freely but thanks
OMG 89 C's.. now im over the shock..hello all!
morning Pink
hi pink. They were not easy for me. Well, some of the Cs. A lot.
that the best interests of the people supercedes the best interest of the agenda of any party
hi nono!
not for me thanks Sprite...think I'll sign off for the nite and finish tomorrow. Goodnite everyone. Hi/bye Pink!
ok, then it is time for me to get dressed, lol.
bye all, enjoy the grid, eachother and the rest of life. *hugs*
that ethics in government is an oxymoron
Bye Sprite--enjoy the day.
bye lynxxx sleep well!
take care lynxxx
Hi Pink
i must go help hubby and get breakfast bbl
bye sprite *hugs*
oh, btw, if anyone sees JoSo... Please please ask him to email me. I lost his email, can't get into contact with him and I must.
hey, scrabbler
One great statement after another, BR
government and morons... now you start making real sense to me, Rabble!
phantom spectrum
that constitutional freedom of the press requires the the press to be watchdogs and not lapdogs
*poof*
that the governed are free to think for themselves instead of allowing a herd to impose the ideas of the few
that destruction of our planet is at least as important an issue as terrorism and the US is an obstructionist thug
that to many have turned out the process because the process ignores what the people want in favor of politics by dirty tricks and outright lies and other unethical conduct
BR, I like your political platform. What is your name so I can vote for you?
I have a party of one --- the hole in the head party
Ah, but is anyone currently running anywhere close to what the citizens and the country need?
the only candidate I liked has dropped out
early good morning!
in my view, a bot would run a more honorable administration than the current one .... but I have little hope for a marked ascendcy in leadership and horor in government
Hi Featherbee! I just took my turn in Scrabble.
I agree, BR.
very cool scrabs. how's the grid?
Good morning, everyone!
the one factor that will not change for me is to work for change. I must say my local paper has now stopped publishing my letters to the editor hehehe
i went scrabs. tried to keep that top corner open and not let the Vs block us off!
Hello, folks
Oh, dear, BR---a voice of reason shut down?
now I argue with the op-eds at the ny times
Keep trying to be heard and read, BR.
I took my turn, Featherbee.
Good Morning all, just found an 8 all by myself
now is such a critical time apathy and inertia must be exorcised to ensure a safer world for the world's children
Hi Periwinkle! Good for you. Looks like I found an 8 too.
Amen, BR!!
I found re8/50
I found ca8.

Monkey... LOL!! :-)
scarlet, i did not realize that you're a Carolina gurl
{{{AnnieBrooklyn!!}}
what's so funny
Yes I am, monkey... Asheville! I love your new icon.. it brings a smile to my face.
oh! yes, it's a cute one. I'm a Carolina gurl (monkey) myself... recently transplanted to Norfolk VA from the Outer Banks of NC
I am originally a Texan, moved all over the planet, and when we retired (in Pennsylvania) from newspapering, we moved here to be closer to daughter, who went to Warren Wilson!
hi all! bbs, msn must restart : /
TO! :-)
Hi Lil*monkey....I just had aholiday on OBX...it was lovely! :)
hi TO
Hi Owl!!
HI, Roonie! :-)
*singing* I wish they all could be Carolina guuuuurrrrls.....
Oh ronie, just saw your post, YAY I'm glad you loved it there... what village/milepost were you?
Hi owl
James Taylor: Oh to be in Carolina... I wonder if he knew how funky Ashville is?
I went to Ocracoke Island for New year....saw it in, in style!:)
oh scarlet, that James Taylor song almost makes me cry when I hear it!
Mornign all..:)
Roonie! That's fabulous! I hope you went to Howard's Pub and had some shrimp :)
hi roonie
Annie, you were on when metal asked for the Finnish Cookie recipe yesterday... I have to hit the road running in about a half an hour... and I promised her I would give it to her... it's in the bio. What does anyone suggest that she definitely gets it, even if I am not here?
LOL...we ate at Howards everyday......:)
YUM! I hope you got t-shirts too
If I see her on I will tell her that you have the recipe in your profile...maybe you can email it to her...I might have her email..going to look
Terrific, Annie.. what a love you are!
is that recipe for finnska kakor , by any chance? I love that cookie
Scarlet - Hello. I've copied the recipe from your bio and I'll post it on my recipe thread in BabAnon for her.
You are wonderful, Jacula! Thank you very much!
y/w.
that's a wild pic of Lego Mona Lisa you've got, Jacula
I'll go and paste it in now.
Monkey, you'd have to read the recipe to see if the ingredients are the same, but I do not know Finnska Kakor...
found her addy...I dont think she will mind..after all, this is cookies we are talking about...will email her addy to you
finska kakor is a bar cookie, kind of like shortbread, with almond flavoring and flaked almonds on top
Thank you AnnieB! :-)
i probably spelled it wrong
No, monkey.. this is the world's most delicate butter cookie.
sounds good enuf to eat :)
LOL, Annie... "this is cookies we're talking about"...Do we have our priorities straight here, or WHAT! LOL
cookies are a top priority!
got both the Z words
I'm back. Scarlet - the recipe's on BabAnon now.
the "a" words are giving me a hard time today
I only have 5 of the 12, candycane
That was very nice of you to lend a hand, Jacula. I appreciate it tremendously. Again, thank you! :-)

Go Jints!
Gumby, you should go back! and create a new happy memory there :)
It is the biggest game they can possibly have, Bobby, and after what they did against the Patriots, I think they are strong enough to beat the dreaded Cowboys!! Go Jints!!
Considering I only have 71 words left to find there are only 5 boxes greyed out (and 3 of those were grey from the start)!
And just to set the record right: I LOVE Eli!! LOL
hey jacs!..

Bobby is going to be ready tomorrow at 4:30 setting himself up in the den ready to hoot and holler

I haven't asked for babble expert yet from lickety :( my bad
Alright...lil M is difficult to type and confusing when Lillian is on, heh. Do you mind if I just go with Laurie?
how do you get the babble picts
Cupcake, if you pay the 15 dollar membership fee, you have access to a profile which allows you to put up pictures. Until you pay the fee, you cannot.
just about anywhere, cupcake... online or something you have stored on your computer... to pay for a membership, you have to click on the link above
I have had bab exp. for a looooooooong time. It was the only way I could finish before I went pro. I love it for the videos now, lol! I am so used to using it that I just lose off the clues now, I prefer the format.

sorry expensive
OMG! littlebit! we are neighbors!
It is not just a picture cupcake. However, I remember you from a month or so ago and you did not seem to njoy playing babble, so if it is not something you enjoy, you should not spend money on it. Just enjoy what you enjoy!
I'm in downtown Norfolk, Freeman Harbor
yes we are 1

congrats aloy and hagd
exams being stolen??? we are fully recovered and back to our usual selves. i now have the stress of my university excepting my extenuating circumstances, which is a pain in the arse!!
congrats Aloy and anyone else who has finished this punishing grid!
Yeah, one of my profs had our three hour long exams stolen from his car shortly after our writing them. We have to vote on how to handle it. Did they accept your illness for the reason why you had missed your exam in dec? I remember you were waiting for them to open so you could go in
Evening all, totally drowning in REs, I'll no doubt be begging clues soon.
Hello liz!
hi liz
Hello liz! I am ignoring the REs as I don't even have 100 words yet and not much time today. I wish you luck though
hi liz
lucky it wasn't an exam, i had to hand in a portfolio...how will you handle this? i could imagine the trouble this has caused
hi liz
Roonie, do I detect an Edward Monkton that I haven't seen before? (your icon)
we can either double final exam weight (my preference) or double our marks so far this fall (as it was start of the year, not my best work, and not very many). I always pull through on exams and they boost my grade. I am hoping everyone else feels the same!! It is stressful, waiting to see as one will be good, one bad.
Also, there are security issues as there is a bunch of personal info on exams, so the police had to be notified and my student id has been red-flagged, as well as everyone else in the class.
had the prof left his car unlocked or did someone force their way in?
Smashed in his windows. We think they assumed his briefcase contained a laptop.
geesh.
what a nightmare! hopefully everyone will vote on double marks in final exam. Prof must feel awful that this has happened...i just pray the thieves do not try anything fradulent with all the details!
im sure they were bitterly disappointed!
Yeah, it was not a good way to start 2008. First class of second semester and we learn that! It works out well for some though, as any who didn't write exam, there is no proof anymore! They are pleased.
p
i guess people don't know that if you're looking for rich folks to steal from... profs ain't the right mark
I have finally gotten used to it, and am focusing on working hard rather than worrying. The prof is pretty shaken up, as it cost much damage to him and his course. First time in a long time they have been stolen before even being marked!
I think he feels guilty as his briefcase was very nice (a gift from someone) and he thinks it looked expensive enough to be worth it. Having nice things is apparently a bad idea in today' world.
woo look i reached 80% already
Guten MOrgen, Babblres. Too much time spent looking for my last two words: me 5/14 and pr 7/36. Please help with a clue. \nTime for fishes????
i saw a bumper sticker yesterday on a 15-20 year old car that said "this car is a status symbol. it symbolizes that i'm poor." he should have had one of those.
Hello inge.
pr7 - beinginng meaning 'before' + school is broken down into semesters and ****s (or a baby born early)

sorry, hurshy....5 left so I'm focused
I didn't know whether you wanted a reply. When you ask 'why', the answer is usually 'Enable'
'cause i don't have an answer and i do agree!
i didn't want a reply per se, i just don't like being the last post before a silence.
yea, that's not fun.
We could have been cruel and never replied to your last post.
I find it easier to use the English word for sh** than the German one, Depends what you grow up with, I guess
OK, I give up...could somebody please give me a clue for the first two RE6s?
all this talk of sh** helped me find 2 words!

do you know the one where ernie dances himself to sleep and the sheep carry bert (in his bed) out of the room? lol
No, no kids, so haven't seen sesame in a while...and now no tv...I'm going to be really reculsive after this 3 minths
who are ernie and bert?

hi mont
bye uni, hagd
hi red and dorens - bye Uni !
i have french feces, is that it pms?
'bye Uni
I can't find them on atoz
PMS, if you were anywhere near where Montreal is, you'd know the french word for sh** and it would come easily!
hi red and dorens
must be, those are two everyone keeps asking for
the English speaking feces are there too
absolutely Lady N !
Yes ty Dorens. I didn't think of swearing.
oh, i often think of swearing
stick with us PMS, you'll get around to it !!
what may I ask, are the English speaking feces?
iiiiiiiiii know a tropical island with a mango moon and banana sunshine
it's a 3-letter word, so it doesn't count, bichon
tu4/6 and 5/14
sort of a slang term for poop
what a sh**** board then?
oh yeah... there's those too... I think of those in terms of rabbits though
i'm lost without ceorl
the RE 5/12 after the plural color is driving me mad; can I have a little hlp pls
cement would help
and we are so close on cemetery
yes one of my favorite words (i'm just proud of myself that i see it now after all these silly grids)
encountered a friend again, phan?
that would be encountered again
ok, pass me the fish again pls
and thank you so much
brb... all this babbling has made me quite hungry
only 9 more c words, 3 ce and 6 something else
This computer is so darn slow! Well my icon shows the Detroit public library in Legos. Some genius is constructing much of downtown Detroit in legos and displayling them periodically in The Max, our orchestra hall.
what fun!
I have about a zillion c words to go
i'm missing 3 ce words too, but also a million co words
you have to think of a bunch of co words where you would pause in saying them after the co...
i have 5 c words left and 2 of them are ce
thanks hursh, kind of figured that, and still looking a whole lot with no lightbulbs going off
like, co5, to take over
co6, to persuade with force or like, blackmail
and co7, build together
for instance.
hm, i don't know what i just did to lickety'ls list, but all of a sudden it is just one big long list not broken up into segments of initial letters... that happen to anyone else ever?
me, once.... I just refreshed
sorry dorens, don't have the list open
good morning, babblers - good timing for me - just walked into a chat and picked up 3 clues! thanks for the co's!!
yup, that did it ladynatts... just curious why it happend, but why ask why?
morning, JBV
morning jbv
hi, everyone - big grid today
also change third letter on the co5 for another co5
and then you know, get all the endings
hi JBV
actually it's only 9 co words i'm missing, but still feels like a lot.
hi jbv
thanks hursh, that gave me one... i will get there
i am now about halfway withthe c's is this the largest number you seen on one letter?
nope, i don't think so. we've had ones with an awful lot of P's or S's...
58 is the largest for 1 letter that i have seen yes...
hasn't there been over 100Cs one day?
not to mention R's
89 is up there though
it's 58 + 31!
89 Cs today...
Phew..finally got all the 8's...moving on the the 7's.
I am going to have to go to lickety's list sooner than planned
yay for Roonie !!
this looks like a doozy today...... good morning all!!!
I have 59 c's.... looks as if I could be doing c's all day long...
hi mamabear
We need a statistician to keep track of these things. The most from one letter etc.
hi there mama !
TY Mont...
hi mama
hi montreal!!!
Good morning mamabear
and natts, haz!
only 30 to go, red... that's not so bad
bonjour hazel !
oh and angelina
morning mamabear
hiya dorens!!!
lickety keeps track of some things like that, doesn't he? maybe we could ask him to implement more
and haz
TY lady, it seems interminable in C land...
Bonjour, montreal!
30 7's?????? a thousand C's??????
Ok taking abreak from C land, going to say Hi on Runners world...
haz, have you finished the grid?
Affirmative.
*applause* for Haz!!!!!!
i have found one traditional adverbial ending... is that all there is of that?
congrats to you haz
any Y help our there?
Let me have a look. (thanks for the applause)
way to go Hazel !!!
hi, jbp - the y word sounds like something that flows in a tree without the first letter (x)
it's an anagram of the e 4/7
I am now done. I can clue for a little while...
i have finished the c's. some grids are smaller than that!
they e 4/7 that is a tree-y?
yes..
congrats phand
wd phan !
Just the one adverbial ending, hurshy.
wow you guys.. I am impressed congrats
yay phand
okies, thanks

how about a non-pee related U word?
the k**** would like an independent state in the middle east
ur4 - taking the popular letter away from Miss Muffet's whey accompaniment.

the bird t*****

oops did an extra star there
and phan and haz
TY for the Ur clue..:)
the other is a ur
8's: ca, le, re, st, tu, and...?
co
co hurshy :)
co8
figures!
co hursh
But don't force yourself to look too hard for it.
well, i've remembered to put endings on most other words... :) thanks
And don't let anybody else push you into a hard search.
all y'all shouldn't gang up on hursh and try and force her to
lol Haz
well i've passed 90% now so i think the list is in order
i'm taking a halfway break
only if you have found that co 8 word
I think you've earned it, hurshy.
i found it, yes. :)
mmmm.... just made some cranberry scones - they smell so good!!!
well done
well I want some...(please)
you bet, phandmd!
thanks! They are so yummy
tu8 pls? I can't seem to monkey it
past tense of the castle part
tu8 - describes a castle's highest feature.
ap 6/7 earns my vote for weirdest of the day
sometimes I'm blind, Thank You!
so weird I havent got them
french words hursh...
I was surprised as well, hurshy.
ap 6 and 7 are french
ap 4/5 + short hand for see you
translation please monty?
You haven't noticed them yet, Atalante.
not the weirdest, I found a whole lot more that I have never seen
oh yes. I see them now
hummm
a glimpse hursh
but we don't get coeur... richard coeur de leone is plenty famous for people to know that word...
the ap 6 is an insight, something perceived
sacre coeur!
a glimpse, a general idea, a rough estimate = ap6/7
hi, montreal, sometimes it helps to know the french words, n'est-ce pas?
you bet JBV !!
yes, but as hurshy notes, you never know when a word is accepted by wacky enable
yes dorens, am really disappointed that COEUR is not accepted !!
good morning/afternoon, everyone :)
but of course me*** is!
hi nan
hi nan
lol dorens... hi nan !!
well i've got the list but i STILL need ce clues. the 6/27, and the 6/7 combo... :) ? :) ?
ce6/27 - resembling the Big Top, clown area.
ce sounds like a three ring situation
ty
ce 6/27 - a misspelling of 3 ring ci*****
??? why not recarpet,recarpeted,recarpets...all in the enable dictionary???
ce6/24 and its plural - ce, having encountered the last three letters, reached by a consonant.
and 6/7 is ce + not my leg but my a** + alien from outer space... wants to go home
ce the ce 6/7 - is like what you use to make a side walk add a hook tr
They are in the up to date version of the enable dictionary which babble doesn't use.
ty again
hello all
Hi Peri
hi peri
hi peri
hi there peri !
hello, just had to come share my new favorite quote:
Hello peri.
hi feather
hi feather
I am stumped on the ap 6/7 combo
"Not only does the English language borrow words from other languages, it sometimes chases them down dark alleys, hits them over the head, and goes through their pockets." Eddy Peters
good one feather ! - and hi !
lol feather
ap6 - to the one who imitates, add the first two letters of what you do with scissors
very good feather
isn't that just perfect? lol!
:)
Then plural it for ap7
i've Conquered the C's!
ap6 = a + not dead p** se" + chem. symbol for copper
too much going on here; to distracting; I am gunna run now
correction --- ap6 = a + "not dead p** se" + chem. symbol for copper
off to nap, just had to share that with an audience i knew would appreciate it. laters!
later phan !
got it but I now agree with Hurshy that is the weirdest word of the day so far
bye phan and feather
sweet "napdreams" feather
hi, featherbee, interesting quote - English does a lot of "borrowing"
recarpet isn't a word??
Not according to the dictionary used by the site.

ty haz
mu5 also weird. not small or big... maybe it's just right?
hi deb
You're welcome.
oe7 please? i don't see an E i can stick an o onto... :(
o + er4 + plural
oe7 - first three letters a misspelling of what propels a row boat, last four letters, a chld's ursine toy (plural)
Though mixed up, I should have said.
where I said plural , I meant past tense
strange word!
It gets my vote for strange. I've seen the ap6 but not this.
that makes 5 on the strange list!
its sciency
got the oe, thanks but what about the me 6 - didn't get that clue, hurshy
co 7 following those who threaten?
it was a sounds-like clue
dole out + laura ingalls' father

Re the ur6 - where's Aloy when you need a below the belt body part clue?
who is marty and why is s/he upset
Off I go - bye for now!
I see an re 6 below the belt.... a ur 6 below the belt?
I thought the c's were bad, but the em's are worse!
marty is one of my cats. he was harrassing cinder, his sister, and i've shut him in a crate in consequence. like many criminals, he makes light of his own offenses and feels that The Man is being unjust to him.
oh! marty was being a pest

its a brand
oe7 anyone?
well, it's a tool, but not sure of the spelling
dremel is a brand? I thought it was the name of a tool
oe 7 sounds like a kind of wool without the w and with an e
its a rotary tool, there are a bunch of types, dremel is just the biggest company for them, sort of like band-aid is for bandages
its a rotary tool, there are a bunch of types, dremel is just the biggest company for them, sort of like band-aid is for bandages

TO - looked up BabAnon, Anj's entry speaks of the obvious fish and the haddock of plurality. Not got much further, I'm afraid.
Well done Uniquity, Pat on the back!
still 57 left to find
how many c`s i got 46
so the haddock is plurality and the pollock is obvioousness? i thought there were more fish, formissed past tense
89 c's
there are 89 jtdp
Yes, there probably are, but I don't know how to find them.
lol
wow when you put it that way, having 14 left is not too bad!
i have almost 40 c words
14 Cs that is! : D
i gotta be the thickest clown on here lol

clues for RE6/27 anyone ?
man there are some stooopid head words in this grid
ap6 - to the imitator add the first two letters of what scissors do. ap7 is the plural.
ap6/7 are french words meaning a glimpse, an insight...
re6/27 - body part.
tx hazel, an important part !!
Indeed!
mont can you help me out a bit more by any chance?
actually i thought it was part of an abdominal muscle...
in medspeak, which means latin
i can try mlfan... but i have 44 to go - what do u need ?
help with some ce words? ce6,27 ... ce6,24 (2nd one) and ce7,36
the one you had given me i dont know any french
The terminal section of the intestine (re6/27)
then haz's clue should work for you !
ml just follow haz's clue by adding o the ap word
ce6/27 - resembles strongly the structure of the Big Top entertainment, one vowel different
isn't there an re6 abdominus?
Montreal, luckily, I have the Y word, so I guess I can be the Y woman, for the moment...
TO, there is a re**** abdominus...
ahhh yesssss red !!
bless you Haz :)
ce6/24 - to ce4/5 add two of the initials for North America - sounds like the opposite of lighthearted
temple i need an ap word not the otehr one i did get the body part however
My phantom today is the fancy word for ear wax...
ce7/37 is a plural for ce6/24 - ce, a consonant then three letters for 'having encountered' or the first three letters of Paris underground.
oh i believe i have that one Haz, it's the next 6 i need
got em both, MERCI haz
De rien!
what in the word does that mean?
Haz, gracias para las palabras.
Kind of my pleasure, think nothing of it, that type of thing.
De nada, red!
no , i mean the WORD, silly! : /
Start Chinese on me and I'm snookered.
Oh, the WORD!
Paris underground......??????
I can only say "No problem" in mandarin, so ....
i am thinking of taking mandarin
***ro mam
Mamabear, ti could also be the Washington ***ro
cantonese should be interesting...
bok choy
The Paris underground - at the start of *****polis, as in a large city.
bok choy is tasty. Hello renfield
hoowdy do red
hello ren!
ce6/24 - a heat resistant allyoy.
Hello renfield.
lots of foreign words today...
hi there rennie !
hey ya owl!!! hi haz!!!

refield, people want you to be happy whilst doing them... Sing away.
I don't know whether we should allow people to sing without auditions.

arrrggh owl! watch the video i put in my profile for the lego pirate's treasure hunt
clue for the tu 8?
danke monty
tu8 - describes a high feature of a castle.
just kidding you red - i understood what you meant and THAT's what counts in my book...
I thought the tu for the castles was the 6 and 7.
aye, matey, i will! guess what guess what?? my new laptop is coming on wednesday!
thanks haz!
LOL, you should hear me speak it. Monty...
Yes, play with the word, make it descriptive of a castle with that feature.
happy dance for owl!
Ooooh I got it with the castle. dense, i am dense.
don't dance until it's SET UP
i dont have the 6 7 ot 8 tu so i wouldnt know
You're welcome, renfield. My home is, naturally, tu8.
(Not really, just thought it sounded nice)
it would be music to my ears red !!
as is fitting the queen of babble
Haz, how lovely. My rental in NM was AGAIN tagged by the local gang last night. Grrrr. not tu at all.
does it also have a ga8?
Why, thank you, TO. Your cheque is in the post.
Monty...My French is bad, the French like it because I have the funny accent, but they don't always get it...
loil tu 4/6
The ga9 from yesterday? Yes, indeed, and Spangle has her own little do8.
so i'll repeat it -- it would be music to my ears red !!
i took latin and spanish. i speak engllish and new yawk and philly, too - YO!
OK, well.. that is nice of you to say Montreal...I have to say I love to hear a french speaking speaking English...
i've been told that i have no accent when speaking english...except when i'm in the southern part of the US - they say i have a New-York accent !!!
clue for ap 5,16?
Monty I am from the south...but I doubt you have a NY accent.
ap5/16 - describes the actions of the one who imitates, ap4/5
maybe a canadian accent ? a better possibility...
As long as its not the Newfie accent, i don't understand the Newfies at all, nice people though.
ap 5/12 got it woohoo
The vowels give away the Canadian accent, don't they?
TY haz, not getting it, but I probably need to look harder.
haz that sounds like it should be the ap 5/12 not the 16
ap5/16 - the sometimes vowel is involved in the imitating.
could be hazel...especially since we have 6 vowels in Canada...
co 7,36 ??? my brains are scrambled
Got it haz...
TY
it's the first co7,36 i need please
Which one, for the co7/36 - the enforcer or other?
ty haz
co7/36 - either one who makes you do something you don't want to do. OR co7/36 those who make barrels, OR co7/36 - whirlybirds without the hellish beginning.
co 7 = build together
guess what haz, there's yet another co7,36 that comes before all of those you just clued
TY TY TY TY TY owl !
co7/40 is the first co7 - a past tense of co5/14 - co plus a suitable word
ok you party peeps - back to work see you later
102 left...
The building together co7/36 is the second co7/36.
See you later, renfield, don't work too hard.
ok i have finally run out of words....perhaps it would be good to take a break until later. bye bye, ren!
later TO !
bye to
I know the feeling, TO, your head starts to burst! See you later.
don't work too hard rennie - bye !
haz ty for the fine clues. perhaps i will take the laundry down and sign out after that, in case there are more

Everytime I finish a grid I get a couple of bucks to put towards books or something... But I feel like it's be cheating, since I would have control of the account to award me.
Hiya Une!
I'm ready to kill my dog . . . she slipped out three hours ago and will NOT come home--she runs beside the car, behind the car, thru the yard, but won't pack it in for the day!!
lol moon I'd have it depleted in no time, then what do I fill it with...I'd prob get more from hubby for abstainnig
hey, moon :-)

No. New diet is mandatory if I want to avoid meds for cholesterol. Need to do that exercise thing, too.
Hey, you care and you are trying to help, mymuse.
still working on it mymuse, thanks for the clue!
co8/50 are those who influence you to do something vs. your will
phaeton - those who maybe talk you into doing something you probably shouldn't do.
TY--I got a few CO words.
Brookie same place a thermometer might go
Thank you my muse and Jacula
I'm not getting re 6/24. Remedial clue?
Most Babblersare co8.50 when 'new bait' arrives here in all innocence. *evil grin*
WOULD THE BABBLER WHO IS PLAINING THAT TOUR AROUND THE WORLD PLEASE STAND UP?
ah, got it, sorry to ask for that particular word!
Jellen, if it follows butt, drop last letter and make plural
i got your email last night, but no e mail address to respond to, My reply came back to me
Got it, thanks, muse
muse - pleae don't say that about the thermometer. My cat still hasn't recovered from that particular indignity yet. It happened to him yesterday and he's still 'walking funny'.
*stands up...quickly sits down* i thought she was asking for the real slim shady, sorry
Hi everyone {{Hugs}}
Scrabs the episode had to do with healing thru visualization
hi Mom
Hi Mymuse
One of my vets (I now have several) uses the ear thermometer. Much more dignified procedure.
What a pity cat had his microchip before the new chips came in. The new ones allow temperature to be taken by scanning them as well as identifying cat's 'human servant'.
butt offers the most accurate temp tho
She goes by the email handle of Slugger, and travels from SC to MN via Michigan, if we make contact
hi all, clue please for the me5-14 ( the first one)

Jellen - both my 'Hunter' cat's ears are so tattered, I doubt a thermome4 could be clipped or stuck to them! The vet, on seeing him, commented, 'He's a bit of a bruiser, isn't he?'
Hi Scrabbler

Scrabbler, I was thinking of you earlier this week.
ce 6,24, the first one please?
Why is that, Mom?
the last co4/7?
Dr. Phil had a Dr. on his show that liked mountain biking and kyaking and that is how he spends his free time.
ce6 add "we" to the 4/5
brookie, it sounds like serious

Yes, he does but this other doctor mountain bikes and kyaks (sp)
I would want an intelligent, funny outdoorsman, but I am happy being single.
If the doctor's surname's 'Stork' I do hope he's a gynie man!
LOL, Jacula!
he wrote a book. ... Don't be that girl
and Stork goes with pediatrician you know ;)
LOL, jac
THANK YOU SO MUCH that blanked out the big C group
Scrabs, how was Mary Today?
I don't recall what kind of doctor he is. He was on the show The Bachelor a few years ago
Yes second that how is Mary today
now, you just need to take a trip to Colorado or he needs to go to New York
hi, herin
I just got back from a visit with Mary and her husband. She looks great--cheerful, getting stronger! She wants to get home with her kids!
Waves hi pam
hello babblers!
That's very good news, Scrabbs.
hi helen
Hi HK
hello Helen :)
Mary plans on being a longterm survivor!
Hi, Hell on Earth.xx
great news Scrabbler
Hi, hk
heya mymus, scrab, mom, jacsy!
Mom - methinks Scrabbs needs to get out of NY and visit Colorado.
I told her that I have friends all over the world praying for her. (I did not refer to my second home of Babble Land.)
OH FANTASTIC SCRABBLER. that is fantastic. I thought the situation didn't look so bright a while ago. Thank you for telling us that. Congrates to her and hers
brb
The last co7/36?
great, scrabs!!! Is she swallowing better?
co7 whirlybirds
MAry and her husband will fly to Duke Univ when she is stronger, in maybe 4 wks, to see a specialist there. They are trying to get a private flight through AngelWings.
Quite right, not mentioning us, Scrabbs. Most people think you've 'lost it' when you mention a community of net friends.:(
FIVE -- if you are lurking, I just sent you an e-mail
thank you again my muse
Dr Scrabbler Stork...has a nice sound, huh?
su 5/14?
LOL, jac. And, they think that it's like cyber dating or something, where there is very little that is genuine. I think that we are more genuine than not...
Angelwings? Is that a charitable medical flight thing? What a great name!
Pam, she is swallowing well, but cannot have thin liquids. Everything must be thickened.
I think it sounds wonderful. He just seemed like a perfect fit for you from what little I know about you.
I know wayt you mean jacula, they gt that silly grin on their faces, and say of really,
su5/14 rhymes with dirty money lu***
Thanks, muse
*OH, really?
Sounds like she is on track, scrabs!!!! Does he hubby cook? Potatoes thicken soups nicely, and taste so much better than thickit
pam _ I agree. Anyway, like through letters in the 'old days', yu can get a much better picture of a person you see in all their moods on the net (on a site that isn't a dating site anyway). I met my Other Half on just such a site.
Yes, AngelWings is an agency that primarily flies ill kids to places. It costs $5500 each way.
Have responded, Mom:-)
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
You met on a dating site, Jac?
Hi Minveryork!
off to look and hello {{hugs}}
te 5/12?
HI Min
Scrabbs - how do they raise the money? Do they have shops and charity 'junk collections' etc?
hi, min!
Pam--she eats a lot of creamy soups, mostly New England clam chowder, that is her favorite.
Hi, min
pam - NO! We met on a site that was not a dating site.
mostly by donations, Jacula
My ex- cheated on me with a mutual cyber friend--we all volunteer for the same org. I am so turned off to web dating
Ahhh, jac
Great, scrabs
A site a bit like this site. We chatted for months...
pam - I remember now (about your ex). Sorry if I brought up bad memories.
FIVE -- answered
well, they chatted for months, too... So did I...am so icked
No problem, jac...
te6/21 like package or pa**** post, then drop last letter for the 5/12
So sorry, Pam.
Jacula, they found a corporate sponsor, as Mary's story is so compelling. MAry & her husband do want to have a fundraiser someday and donate the money to charities. They are fortunate to have adequate funds as he is a doctor.
Speed-dating's gotta be a no no, though!
Thanks, muse
Dinner is ready (salmon)....BBL.
I think that with them, where it was all on line til the other woman moved here, AFTER they had bought a house, and where they never dated, it is so EXTREME
Scrabbler that is so fantastic
pr7/36, please
le5?
bye bye Scrabbler
5 left. All tu's. Help?

Goodbye Scrabbler! I will see you tomorrow in the log
Pam and some men don't realise what they have. You seem like a wonderful person and he needs a kick in the pooety
howdy everyone

Scrabbs - I hope that salmon isn't butter-soaked, doesn't have e-numbers in it and is accompanied by a jacket potato and a homemade salad?
was a woman, and yes, she needs a kick! Thanks, herin!
Hello Natasha.
Hi, nat
Excuse me preaching, folks! I have to take this medical person to task on her 'ping cook' diet at times.;-)

Hello conceited! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
last te6 make the 4 into an adverb
PFFT i take 5 minutes to do my make up as by 4am in the morning you are going to look like crap. If i am going out for a special dinner then yes about 1hour for make up. I was taught how to do make up by a rather attractive Drag Queen
thanks
Hi Min
Hello ShirlockC! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle!
me5/14 add anagram of bull color
I hope I don't hurt you here, Pam, but I've always thought that being betrayed by a woman partner must be worse than being betrayed by a man. Surely another woman would know exactly what hurts! Men... well they're not always so bright in that sense.
thx for both te clues
pr5/14, please
Hello SarahBellum! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
an hour for make-up!!! omg, i would so just fall sleep!
LOL, herin. A fab gay man found the perfect lipstick for me YEARS ago, and even though it costs a TON, it is still "my" lipstick!
I think the me/5 is the Frenh stuff that if you step in it, you say it too.
thanks, muse!
one would have thought, jac. One would have thought...
lol, jan
pr5/14 just like the po4 of rhyming words
herin - it takes me 20 minutes to get washed, dressed and made up to go out! Mind you, I have been told by more than one man that I'm 'an exception to the general rule'.
pr = an ode but with extra consonant
I think being betrayed just bites. By a woman just rubs jalapeno into the wound...
co5,14, the first one please?
thank you\
I don't know Jac, I think that people are just people and some are more aware than others.
co + prone to do something
Having been betrayed by a few women in my long life...
co + city dwelling abbrev
Oh pam! That is a brilliant description of the hurt.
well, nat, it still bites!
thanks, jac. Feel free to use it.
the last re7?
thanks jellen and mymuse!
absolutely, I don't deny that one bit. I know firsthand.
I must dive back into the grid. It's 1:51am here and I still have 40 words to dig out.
I have some friends practically INSISTING i date NOW, and heck, I am just not wearing a sandwich board...
Oh, I know you weren't denying, I was just emphasizing...
re + follow another's steps
Hello Brookie! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
re7 to copy a drawing by following the lines
M and I have been apart for 4 years and I still don't want to date.
pam - get back out there, in whatever form, when YOU are ready, not when your friends think you should be ready!
S P L A S H !
perhaps a bit unhealthy on my part, but I guess I'm just trying to sa what Jac just said!
yours is an M, too, Nat?
Yes indeed my gay friend (whom sadly is not with us anymore) and my clayton gay friend rocked. ALways handy have one with you for clothes shopping as the objective is to tell you you look hot in something and they mean it in a way that is not trying to get in your pants
thanks mymuse
Yes, LOL
Lol, herin And, sorry for your loss
i need the er4...not the mistake one
the first mu5?
I know what you mean, Nat, and I am in no rush to be someplace I am not interested in.
er + abbrev. for road
The best and fastest clothes shopping I ever did was when I had a gay male picking out stuff for me. I wasn't sure how to feel when he knew my size without asking! LOL
I have an acquaintance I ran into last week. She has a friend who was with someone for 4 years--thought is was "the one"--and it ended badly. She is still not ready, 3 years later.
LOLOL, jac.
Thank you Jellen
After 13 years together I kinda feel like I should take some time and figure out who I am and what I want.
mu5 add black bird ***w
Mostly, it was lipstick for me.. And colors...
THat's how I feel nat. 12 years and didn't see the end coming...
What I'm saying is that I agree wholheartedly that for a woman, a gay man is the bestshopping companion.
thanks
My best friend is a gay man and he's never picked out good clothes for me...women on the other hand...
Yup, jac
I mean he picked out some good women.
It was 20 years and I didn't see the end for me.
Two of my best friends are men. One gay, one straight. Neither has ever picked a good or bad woman out for me, LOL
Sorry, jellen...
Pam he died in 2005 at the age of 29 he was a brilliant man. Sadly he was not meant to be in this world. He had a mental illness and he lost the will to live. He really wanted Mr Right by the time he was 30 and Mr Right was not found. At his funeral his family stopped his life at 18 as he came out to to them and they didn't accept him. It was all really sad but at least he wasn't in pain anymore
pam - re the 'being ready' time. Some recover quicker than others. It took me about a decade (though I did make the occasional odd foray out).
does anyone have the re,12? (first one)
oops, i mean re5,12
cr 6/36 anyone?
that's awful herin. I'm so sorry to hear that.
Glad no one told me that as the stubborn Taurean that I am, and solid and faithful, too, that it would take so long to feel okay again.

OK, how about the ro6,27
Yes i wish that the Mental health system would pull its finger out. I was the one that had to contact his friends as his family didn't know them. THe GLTB police officer he had contact with was fantastic.
i've been trying "social" meetups
On the pr/7...I kept trying to make premee or premie or any of its variations when all along the more "fromal" pr/7 was there.
Ok that said. This grid is making up words
and I am going to put my comuter to sleep now, See you all in the morning. Please note mi icon picture: the Detroit library made from legos
Natasha, didn't you live in or near Wisconsin? (I hope I am not confusing you with someone else)

That sounds about right, nat!
I lived just down the street from one of the subway stops they constructed in the 1980's---lived thru all the balsting and construction and never got to ride it. Porter Square I think...

C's are done, so if you need help Jan, just holler

phaeton, is past tense of previous me
herin - wouldn't that be great?!
did you like Covington, TO
YW TO...
I always forget those british spellings
herin - I agree with your comment about rebooting the brain. Not only my own - wish I could have done that for my Dad, too.
ty shirl
down to 65 - gonna take a break now, some sudoku, some food, some football, bbl
a child has just appeared from the bedroom pleading hunger...bbl

The Inn is still there, the brewery is now a ribs place. Ah, Gold Star, very popular
Hi 72 Temple Owl! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
hi min!

Cincinnati chili has spicing that reminds me of Middle Eastern food--savory and cinnamony all at the same time
ah, how i loved that beer bread! i flirted with my very young waiter just to get more, and stashed it and took it back on the plane
me = more of the 4 above it
Hi StephieC! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
phae, think transportation
whoops, nevermind lol
mom, i picked up a post card that had a recipe for the chili on it. i loved that recipe. but i lost it.
te6/27?
There is no me4 above it, just a me7/36!!
TO - are you quite positive that's the only reason you flirted with the young waiter.... you... Mrs. Robinson, you!
The me/14 is French crap
Goodbye helenkeller! I'll see you tomorrow in the log!

me + anagram for color darker than pink
Beg pardon, TO? How young was the young waiter? *grins and waits for reply*
Hi lbdawger! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
me5 is what Captain Picard says when he's annoyed.
Thank you lbd!
Hi, Min!
Is the beer bread a yeasted bread? Or a quick bread?
Hi Min! i'm fine, how are you today?
Hello and pretty good, Min. Thanks for the welcome...a friend showed me this last night, thought I'd give it a try
i'd love it, mom. if i want beans, spaghetti and cheese, is that fhree way or four way? i get confused
um, which butt word?
The one that means the lower colon...
My friend asked the doc for a brain transplant the other day
oh,
you mean that star wars guy? *waits for hurshy to break in*
harp, the second one on the re list
re5 is the lower bowel butt word.
oh, THAT butt word....
thanks
Actually, a brain transplant is the only kind of transplant where you want to be the donor not the donee
three way is cheese, four way is beans. I think. FIVE -- you still here? Am I right?
and spaghetti is a given then?
Isn't there pasta in one of the ways?
Yest Mom, you're right and five way adds onions
what about the LAST te6?
there is a five way but not sure what is on that. If you send me your email address I will write it out and send it off. My address is KLD1057@fuse.net
thanks FIVE
adverb form of the te4 above it, harp
yes, the spaghetti is a given
me5/12...the first one
True
th mom got it
Spaghetti, chili, beans, cheese, onions and then add hot sauce and you're welcome Mom
It's an adverb building on the te/4 above
now were are the rest of these words
ok thansk
I've heart that organ donations, esp. the heart, oten result in the receiver taking on some likes, dislikes, characteristics of the donor.
Mind you, I think that's what Mary Shelley already knew when she wrote Frankenstein at Byron's house party.
Bet that would be true in spades of brain donations...
phaeton, add another consonant after the me4.5
Still awaiting TO's reply re the 'how young' question. *taps foot*
lol Jacula
You also have to have the little oyster crackers with the chili, Mom
of course, the oyster crackers. How could I forget

I just had an egg cream for the first time in years and years --was in New York last week.
No clues from me now, even if I have them. Going to be mean now and dive back into grid. 39 to go...

HERESY! HERESY I TELL YOU! they are yummy! they are chocolate sodas, how can that be bad? they taste somewhat like the end of an iuce cream soda after the ice cream has melted in
I'm sorry if I'm being a pest, but still need the me5/12 between the two me4's?
only not so ricj. very refreshing
hmm, might have to try one sometime
WTG, LIL*!!!
phae, add a hook letter to the end of the me4 above
you can buy them bottled and they are not half bad...trying to remeber the company name
yes, i'll have a chocolate egg cream please
TO, if you want to hear real heresy, I had the cheesecake at Lindy's and it was distinctly cr/6...
thanks, lil*...lbd told me that but for some reason it didn't sink in....sorry lbd
*hands monkey a banana*
passes Lil Monkey a soda
ce7/36, please
choc egg cream with a banana split in it!
no problem, phae
my mom made the best cheesecake...nothng like a new york cheesecake. at least when i was stilleating it.
ce7 is a plural
plural the ce6.24, Kill
don't have that one either, dawger
love the Cheesecake Factory cheesecake
Yeah, but the Lindy's version has a cake crust instead of a graham cracker crust. And the topping was gloppy and too sweet.
monkey i am craving a crabcake from mako mikes...i wonder if they are still good? then again, i wonder if mako mike's is still i business?
ce6,24 kind of sounds like the green frog's name
ce + hook letter + have you *** my friend, Mary?
Chili, eggcreams, cheesecake, crabcake...I think it's time to go make dinner.
yes owl/gumby, Mako Mike's is still in bizness!
just call them up, and they can FedEx a big fattie crabbie pattie to you
well, with 110 down, I need to go get the supper dishes out of the drainer.
thanks
Good night all, and pleasant dreams. {{Hugs}}

ar6/24 is a blood vessel that conveys blood from the heart to any part of the body bichon.
I realy should finish this
ty Jellen
I love making crabcakes--some Dungeness crab meat, a little panko breadcrumb, a bit of egg, and some minced green onions...
Mostly crab, though...
are dungeness the long spidery legged ones?
ar6 is also the important carotid one in the neck that gets severed in murder mysteries.
Yes, TO, no meat in the legs on them. But the body meat is superb.
co7/36, the second one, please

Oh damn! I said the mu6 word, too! Off to the PB with me!

Jellen - thanks for the pr4/10! (That's a word??)
Ooh...I just checked the definition of the yl word--it's the initial substance from which all matter in the universe comes. What a neat word.
CO6 the heli thing
jan - we regular Babblers know that, but if we clue it that way, not many but the regulars would get it. LOL
gramma, i already have that one
I just knew it as a babblet...
Which ones do you need?
sure, Jacula, especially here in the states
me, too. assumed it had something to do with plants. like xyllem - or is it xylum?
jan- check all the definitions on the Babblets as they come up.xx
oer even xylophone, To! LOL
killgiant, do you have the man that used to repair barrels?
year ago, before the Warrior Princess had even come into being, there was a lady who wrote books about house plants called Xenia.
I am back. Once I get to halfway I can go to bed.

a clue for the first re6/24?
TO - I don't have all of the 5's yet or even all of the m's... my first mu5 is the same as Jellen's.

the o words have been and still are my bane tonight
Thanks for that, Jellen!

later, jellen
not an easy grid, period, pam, IMO
I had to go to word lists with more than 60 words left :(
bye jellen
Aha, I passed halfway and thus am permitted to go to bed. If I hadn't worked all day I'd have had time to dabble in this grid throughout the day. Tomorrow a group of 4 of us are having a Scrabble day after first playing tennis.
Goodbye Jellen! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log!
Far too many c words today, am off to seek out other words.
sleep well, scrabs
good night scrabbler!
See everyone in the AM and tomorrow night.
Sounds like fun, Scrabbs, unless it leaves you in here on a 400-word grid later.
nite, scrabbler!
ciao, and see you tomorrow, scrabs...
te6/27, last one
Make the te4 an adverb, killgiant
te6/27: te + *an you hear me? + 1st 3 letters of word we use for stomach with children

tr7/40 is an interesting word - definition is delicate network of lines (e.g., embroidery); ends in sometimes vowel
Did TO just find and eat Nemo?
First time I have mad to use morewords in a while! Tough little gridd, but I am through! Night all!
