I almost found a boy band in the northeast corner...no, wait, I found almost a boy band in the northeast corner...
ca7 -- probably called
Theres a ca6 when singularized...
have that one but missing the other 2 ca6
Bananas all around for the monkeys after they found dw5
found it first thing do I get the biggest banana?
was my monkeys that found it
we could share
not finding those ens either
If you knew that was a word, you know more than me, and certainly deserve it...
that was my 2nd word....my first one was he 4,7 cause I'm one.
didn't know it as a word, just the monkeys
just guessed lol
seems like it was a tangleword
but don't know why it can't also end with an o
I got the dw by mistake - mistyping the wi
I've be4 eating be4 and drinking be4...yum!
flosey -- there are 2 ca6s which are sort of inukshuks
inukshuks? should I know this?
hmmm, thanks jilli will have to play with that
I'm starving.....
just monkeyed one much to my surprise
I'd like to thank the Academy, but oscar isn't in the dictionary...
inukshuks are stones piled up in a certain way -- emblem of the 2010 Vancouver winter Olympics (plug)
yes, have that one jilli, thanks
yeah just got the ca 7 and 8
It's also a town in the Top End of Australia...haven't seen many Aussies tonight...
do you have the curcussy ca6 & 7?
never thought of them as being ca6
I've seen that emblem jilli...and prob have the word but don't know what it is! lol
but of course, just no cement
I mean circussy (tired now)
yes, have them
guess these are in between
oh yes, they are, have all other ca words
I've found three bird words in the grid...
i know i have an fi bird what do the other 2 start with doug?
wr, just
k have that what's the 3rd?
plural just
er
oh that makes 3?
oh ok that's a water one!
yes
I didn't say three kinds of birds, I said three bird words
well then there are 5 bird words as far as i can see
any clues for the en words please?
this chat is very hard to follow for the newcomer
lol hi hillary
sorry flosey still need those too
like cinderella
hi all
hi hil
flosey en + the ch 5,14 for 1
Soooo stuck on the last sy.....what is wrong with me?
As long as there are Canadians in the chat, I'd like to ask you to ask your MP's to support M-446
how many sy's are there?
M-446 doug?
what's m-446?
four
4 hillary
Yes, it was introduced by MP Keith Martin, and it is basically gutting the Canadian Human Rights Commission
huh? is Keith a conservative?
thanks Just, got it
yw still working on the 2nd one
so doug....ya gonna esplain?
M-446 is a bill under consideration in the Canadian Parliament
M-446 is a bill under consideration in the Canadian Parliament
concerning what?
but what is the bill Douglas, I don't know it by a number
Actually, he's a Liberal, but that's not the point...
methinks doug enjoys his crypticness :D
Keith Martin MP (Lib) -- http://tinyurl.com/2kmv6u
I'm not being cryptic, I'm just experiencing flaky internet....M-446 would get rid of the Canadian Free Speech Supression Star Chamber, er, uh, I mean, the Canadian Human Rights Commission
Please, someone help me with the last sy...
Should auld acquaintance be forgot...
okay sorry doug....and jilli....a tad late for me to interalize that right now
I have that one, Doug...it's the sy 5 after it.
Oops, I don't have that one...
sounds like something on a police car
got both en6 words
*smacks head* Thank you dart
hello again - i have a sy that sounds like a police car
ty for the sy words, doug
thanks ursh, too
well doug......not sure what it's about but I for one love you yankees (I know your're in the north) and wouldn't change USofA as a neighbour for any other nation on this planet
what's the second en?
I'm still puzzling over than one hillary
cast a spell
hi everyone
thanks jilli
some en*****ed evening
hi andree
thanks jilli
yw :)
you may see a stranger across a crowded room
likewise, just
still don't get those two ca6 words
*furrows brows*
thx jilli dart and doug for your reciprocation of feelings!
which two, flosey? there's four
flosey, there are 3 ca6 words -- which do you have?
I only have 1 ca 6,27 flosey.....think the sea surrounding the bahamans....shortened
oh yeah, 4
or the elk of the north
I have the stone monument, and the circus word
ca6/27 -- change the last letter of the stone monument to the sometime vowel
Someone set the northeast corner on fire...probably for the insurance money
what's the circus one about?
thanks jilli
a circus worker
heh doug got that a while ago but good clue
that's the stone monument pl
yes, got it jilli, now need the next one
more help with the circus worker pls?
does the fe 6/27 have anything to do with the fe 5 before it?
the next one was clued a minute or so ago -- first part of the sea the Bahamas are in
It could be considered a veryent spellng
dunno, leigh -- don't have either of them
that's not the one under the plural monuments jilli....the first ca 6/27
actually, I think it's a native of those parts
the first ca6/27 is the stony one -- the next is the sea one
i found the frankie howerd ca's... is that what's meant by the circus worker?
who is frankie howard?
the one I need comes after to pour wine from one container to another
note the spelling of the surname jilli, it's not incorrect...
that's the sea one
just not getting it
ok, who is frankie howerd?
sigh I'm confused
frankie howard, pour wine,
people like to go on Ca***bean cruises. Add a vowel.
english comedian, made the c****** films
oh, got it
:D flosey
now to look up the meaning
well we're a commonwealth nation but not to up on my English comedians
in 8?
there were very fierce natives of some of those islands, flosey, as we were told in Barbados
chris rock, I know.....jerry seinfield, I know.....guess I'm more of a yank than I thought :D
hillary, don't know the c******* films
anyone have the ca7 & 8, while we're at it?
still missing the 1st ca 6/27?
er6 ? clue please
jill- luggage you bring on the plane with you
ty leigh

watching the snow melt? jk :)
well it's long overdue, i'm off for my jog... take heart loredana my daughter just told me it's the 3rd quarter in the melbourne-hawthorn match and melbourne has only scored 12 points ... so neither of our teams will be on the bottom!

bad driving into work the last 2 morns
the damn groundhog doesn't know his ass from his elbow
lol
right now with windchill....it's minus 14c :(
why can't I see the last wi5/18?
Mar -- grandson (near you) emailed today with a weather description -- "uhg" (he can't spell -- Honours English though)
lol
maybe jilli is too drunk?
well they're saying 6 more weeks of winter here :(
jilli, bums drinking out of paper bags.....lol
that brings us into May.....it's too unreal
no, the 5/18 after that -- second to last wi word
sort of the sound of a propeller jili
don't have that either jill
or a fan
sounds like... that thing we look into and dont always like what we see!!
on groundhogs day...the 6 more weeks of winter is supposed too be the bad part...we would take that in a heartbeat...(6 weeks from groundhogs..not today)
the word actually means to express sorrow
I know what you're driving at but it's hiding!
exactly dart.....but they're saying from now.....and was supposed to be an early Spring according to our groundhog...Wireton Willy
from now would not be good
Not much use Jilli but a Wi***way was an Australian Training plane
Wiarton Willy...?
hello all
weather has been nice here, snow is all melting, nice and sunny lately
hello Lynxxx and Stewart
The first letters of the words Pilate put above the cross are in the grid...

Wiarton Willy is the Canadian Punxsatawny Phil
wiarton...thats the toronto sector just east of us :)
Hello lynxxx
Hi lynxxx and stew
that's right doug but they ain't kissin cousins
yes, us Canadians go by Wiarton Willy
right there too dart!
I have a picture of a statue of Wiarton Willy at Crossword Bebop
betcha he looks just like Phil
Wiarton is one of those places that people just don't get to by accident...
ummm think same could be said for Punxsatawny
well, got that wi, finally. Now if somebody had said it was something like the noise Tigger makes.....
Here's the picture of the statue...http://tinyurl.com/2jjv9j
yay jilli lol
isn't it just Punxatawny?
boing isn't in the grid jilli
don't know jilli....just copied and pasted Doug's spelling!
Don't think the real Tigger went boing
don't know the sound tigger makes (made)
oh the wonderful thing about tiggers..
hi Chrissie
and that's my only wi left too :(
hi lore and happy easter to all
ooh, Wiarton Willy looks really grumpy!
he does look grumpy but still cute!!
that's cause we're all pounding the cr*p outta him jilli
Mar, nm -- the clue about looking at something that reflects is a goodie

nite jilli
night nana
sleep well jilli take care see you tomorrow
goodnight jilli
night jilli - I'll be leaving soon - was about to but found another word - darn
night jilli.....want one more to make an even 30 left
is that how you got your name Just
good luck all! *poof*
On further review, I misspelled Punxsutawney, but what I meant to say is that Wiarton is near the tip of a peninsula of land, so people don't usually end up in Wiarton unless they're going to Wiarton. Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, on the other hand, is only about 25 km off of Interstate 80
not really chriss.....my name is Marianne ergo Just1Mar....they broke the mold after they made me
we use to drive through Wiarton to get to Tobermory - spent a couple of summer holidays there
Bingo...got it! night/morning/g'day fellow babblebuds have fun, take care, see you soon
Marianne is such a pretty name
bye mar

yes lynxx that f on the left I have 5 of the 6 but cannot find that last one
yes thanks andree having a veggie weekend
I am having an eggie weekend
i am so stressed at work this last couple of weeks that its nice to have a breather
lol
dont know if anyone knows what the expression egg means kiwi will lol
is there an end in sight Andree? can't have you stressing
I see you are still typing in irony ruru ;-)
andree you gotta learn to stop stressing!!! coming from an ex expert at stressing !!! lol
there is lynxx, i have been trying to sell for 6 months with i small nibble and now with the fellow who runs waste association allowing my accountant to send emails to 180 members , i have over 20 replies!!!
good good good Andree - or is that what is causing the stress?!
1/2 have pulled out at hearing the price and the rest are genuinly iterested and have arranged to sign confidentiality agreements
not really lynxx, one of my drivers , the best i have is leaving after 18 years
you have to have the patience of a saint to sell a house these days
fantastic, and yr accountant sounds as though he is really helpful too
are you selling a house or your busniess?
he has been a rock in the last 5 years since i bought ex husband out, not an easy business for a woman to run, wish i could drive a truck
You'll have to bribe him to hang around for another 6 months
my business ruru, until i sell that i don't have a house, lol, i rent one
lol, i tried that lynxxx
evening all :)
hi MRP!
hi mrp
hello mrp
HI MR P how are you feeling?
hi lynxx, andree, chrissie and ruru! Am well thanks, just had a nice 2 hour sleep :D
me too
I get very tired at about 4pm and need a nana nap
I crashed after dinner and just got up again
nana nap?
good idea ruru! I like to have naps... refreshes me for babble
i love a nana nap
have read back... Andree! It will all work out darling
what's a nana nap?
nana/granny/grandmother - a few hours sleep in the arvo/afternoon
a nana nap = a 2 hour sleep in the afternoon, usually undertaken by old ladies
no, that's just a long power nap!!
I don't really think old ladies have a lock on that one
And I am officially an old lady according to the kids... I got called HOT by the kids... stands for Horrible Old Troll
lol
don't ya just love kids!!?
haha - little wretches!
turn them into stone
couldn't eat a whole one
it seems to be coming together mrp, i have a new driver starting tuesday and old driver doesn't leave for another 10 days so time to train him on the crane, the worst part was for 2 weeks advertising i got no replies, unemployment down to 3% and lets face it 3% of the population are unemployable
i was pretty near hysteria
Andee... 30% of the population are unemployable but still... they have the darn jobs!
Oh Andree (((hugs)))! You came through thou!
lol mrp
hi Mrp so your HOT hey i came from the middle ages according to my two kids lol
And if they call you COOL, you are looking at Constipated Over-weight Old Lady
lore, I am a modern day mum, I am so far intol the future, I am already 70 in the head!
70 to go and brain hurting.. going to take a break..bbl... bye all
one of the girls in the office said she had listened to my stars on radio and i had to hold a crystal, rushed home to clutch my crystal and within 2 minutes got a call from what seems to be a good driver
see ya chrissie!
take a nana nap chris
Andree you must know having your own business that staff are your biggest liability ... not debtors!! hang in there girl good mangement skills are born in us girls and you will not be getting into a truck thats what your staff are for
here here lore
i like those mrp must remember them will ask my grandson
I would ruru but it's 8am here, lol .. bye again
lore you are quite right
herin is in the grid :B
mrp my kids used to think me old when i was 40, now if i say old they have a fit and say you're not old mum
couldnt help myself been there myself andree and you know once a beancounter........ please learn to de stress so you dont end up like i did big hugs for andree
i am a trained nurse so the beancounting has been a learned skill
taking a break BBL
and thx for all the support, i am feeling much more positive this week
bye lynxxx
cy lynxxa
so you know all about stress then..... we are here for all Babblers including you!!! hugs
see ya later lynxx
later lynxxx
anyhow the main thing is i have a driver to start tuesday, my biggest nightmare was if i could not get another before present one leaves
truck drivers over here are non existent they have all left driving to work in the mines to get drivers to drive east/west we had to pay them an arm and a leg!!! we even advertised overseas
thank goodness it didn't come to that lore, but i was very suprised at the lack of interest in the job
far out lore! that is stupid!
have had i driver 18 years and the other 15 years so was out of the loop and got a shock at how hard it was to find one
they make more money in the mines and driving is a fairly stressful job mrp especially oversize which is what we did prime mover with over 100 tonnes on its back crossing australia and having to contend with car drivers
and now andree, keeping his happy will be the key
any ways enough about that Andree has her driver and we will send good vibes across the nullaboor so that this driver will work out just fine and andree will remember to enjoy life and not stress so much
i am pretty easy to work for mrp otherwise i would not keep them so long, the key is i think is he going to be the right person for the job, tony the one who is leaving is so loved by all our customers
mrp must remember to take lots of rest too so she does not go back to that place where they have horrible food hugs for mrp!!
how is the new job mrp
mrp you are working you just got out of hospital !!!
wemen as you pointed out lore are tough
LOL lore! It is something I have been volunteering to do, but am now being paid for it :D
and mrp is no exeption
the job is low stress, fun and easy... school canteen assistant :))
yay... mrp good for you!!!
phantoom:faint
thanks andree :) ((hugs))

Hi Sprite/Katie/Cool. Sorry Sprite, my connection problems seemed to have spread over to you!
haven't seen anyone ask for clues , am i the only one who is blind to some words
it did, lyn, and it kept me from finishing for the first time in years. Very frustrating... I don't mind if it is because I am not smart enough... I do mind if it is because of a server problem.
welcome back sprite
Andree this seems like a hard grid to me
I didn't leave, Andree.

nares i think sprite
Andree, that is the one, thanks
nair is a brand of hair removal cream!!
thanks
oh, lol... ok!
i just thought of it after finding ha4/5
nares is another of the many plurals with no singular
there is a brunette english prince in the grid
indeed. But what does that big word of yours mean, BabbleRabble? Loving chasms...?
chasmophilous: fond of nooks, crevices and crannies
lol, that is funny word. I think my late cat was chasmophilous then.
describes for me an inner sanctum to think and contemplate
are guys considered brunettes?
you might be more of a chasmophilosopher then ;)
nah, not really, I think, ardilla?
i thought his hair looks quite red ardilla
more like an inveterate gasbag
andree, ha4/5 is a word
oops off to pb for me
he's a redhead though Ardilla

ROdgers and hammerstein...
was it south pacific
yes, it is south pacific
"Notes: ~ Introduced by Ezio Pinza in the Stage Musical "South Pacific". Pinza's single, from the cast album, was a million-seller as was Perry's recording for RCA Victor. Other best-sellers were recorded by Jo Stafford for Capitol, Frank Sinatra for Columbia, and Bing Crosby for Decca. In the 1958 Hollywood Musical it was sung by Giorgio Tozzi, dubbing for Rossano Brazzi and Mitzi Gaynor. There were later popular recordings by Jay and the Americans in 1965 for United Artists and Jane Olivor for Columbia in 1977."

ar 6 -- add the city MacArthur used to bypass resistance during the Korean War: in****

that global cooling is something, isn't it...
Ardilla, not a specific writer but a v. old fashioned word for 'a writer'

WOOHOO..am finished the re's...wow... get the mensa application out for me...I totally ROCK
Oooh.... tempting to make a deliberate mistake....
Go carlee!!!!!!!!!!!!
can i stay all day?
woot carlee
Hey, they picked my video for today ... dedicated to any of you are Grandma's seeing your grandkids on this beautiful Easter Sunday.
go jandy go
i know... I can't help it... I am just..so...enlightened today **stuffing face full of laura secord cream egg****
You can stay till you can't eat any more chocolate, donna! That could be while, if you're like me!
Oops, forgot the 'who' in that sentence. Well I got up early to do this before the kids woke up. They are ready for me to make them Grandma's special oatmeal.
( I have chocolate almond coffee for the occasion???)
Oh yum... cream eggs... my failing and I didn't get one this year. Don't know if I should be relieved or disappointed...
grandma's special oatmeal?
( go buy on e on sale tomorrow jandy....or 2..or 3....)
Can't have any other breakfast when they are with Grandma.
Will be fascinated to hear how you make oatmeal that appealing, merk!
I was just thinking that, carlee... it would be saving money...
I mash a banana before I put in the oats and milk and nuke it. Then I throw on some berries when I serve it.
ok..how does grandma make grandma's special oatmeal... I've NEVER made oatmeal...since I m ade once and tasted like wallpaper paste
Mmmm... fruity oatmeal....
other then....instant stuff
My oatmeal is delicious ... my standby. I have to watch my sugar intake and when I make it this way, it does not need salt or sugar. Any berries work. Oh, and after I mash the banana, I add a tbsp of lemon juice, stir that together, throw on the oats and milk, nuke it for 2 and a half minutes. Old fashioned oats work best.
morning, all. Happy Easter...
hi angel
And on that note, I am going to brew my coffee and cook my oats. Have a wonderful day everyone.
get the good stuff carlee - I love the rish oatmeal that takes 30 -35 minutes to cook - chewy and nutty deliciousness
<oiif>
Bye Merk... when it gets cool enough here will try that!
but I haven't got a clue how to m ake it...
that is irsh oatmeal, btw
I grew up on cream of wheat..i don't even KNOW what good oatmeal tastes like
( i can get steel cut oats here )
bye merk
I hated cream of wheat growing up - it gets that skin on top if you don't get to the table right away!
ummm steel cut oats with dried fruit and nuts thrown in the last few minutes of cooking
love it..cooked with milk.. and brown sugar sprinkled on top... that my " i'm not feeling good" curl up on cold evening dinner...time to cocoon food
brb - gonna go put some oats on - you guys got me hungry
but HOW u make it??????
Not a fan of the cream of wheat either... never had it till we lived in the US for a while... too much like hot glue...
I cook steel cut oats (1/4 cup oats, 1 cup water) at a simmer for 30 minutes or until most of water is absorbed... then I stir in dried fruit and nut mixture - whatever you like and a little brown sugar and eat!
no salt..sugar...vanilla?
I don't like the instant oat stuff - too gluey
just..oats and water????
no salt - a little brown sugar - vanilla could be nice
oats themselves by themself taste like glue
i'll have to get brave....and try one day..it just seemsso unappealing
I put fruit and nuts in carlee - but yes, I cook them in just water - I add the rest at the end
and this tastes....good?
it is deliciousness
morning all!
easter cream egg....oats boiled in water....easter cream egg.... oats boiledi n water...chocolate and sugar....grey mush...
chocolate winning out here kje
morning pink
hi pink
carlee... you'll just have to regard it as a different sort of comfort food! LOL!!! Couldn't eat cream filled easter eggs for breakfast every day, could you?
I don't usually eat chocolate for breakfast carlee - not usually anyway : )
( I don't "do" breakfast.... coffee is breakfast.. )
Me neither kje, but I made an exception today!
but I could certainly eat cheesecake for breakfast everyday
Hello young pink.... how the heck are you?
: ) - that's because your mom made you eat cream of wheat growing up - : )
clue for na4/7 and a fish pls?

if your ever in Texas carlee - stop by and I'll make you really good oatmeal and biscuits and the best coffee ever
ok..i'll remember that kje... we are travelling soon..but not texas...costa rica or chile I think
and if u are ever in canada...I'll fix u some amazing cream of wheat...with maple cheesecake and connabons
deal!
oh, carlee.... can I come too! And I might get you to hold the cream of wheat...

if i have to try oatmeal......

okay, will trust you on the cream of wheat.
biscuits with butter and peach marmalade....yummmmmm
butter and ORANGE maramalade!
Cool... we lived in St Louis and they RUIN perfectly good biscuits with grits... another acquired taste... which I never quite acquired!
they put grits ON the biscuits!?! how do you eat that?
my mum's concoction...peach marmalade ( has orange and pineapple and almonds in it )
Well..... you don't!
what are grits....i've never known
yum carlee - I want that when I come too : )
grits are ground dried hominy
You don't want to, carlee... if you won't eat oatmeal, you'll never need to know about grits... SHUDDER....
think kinda like polenta
( actually I use it as toppingon good vanilla ice cream..instead of hot fudge)
They're made from hominy, which I guess is a grain...
hello again, back for a bit more
homminy is like corn
like corn meal?
mmmm warm orange danishes and a glass of milk!
aren't grits corn?

Morning all, Happy Easter!
hi there red
I think maybe I should not have started, but, alas, I am 7 words in. Too late now!
Hi Flosey.
gm red, happy easter to you too
Good Morning Angelina!!
morning red Happy Easter to you
Happy Easter to all, on what is another glorious sunny day here!
Good Morning Sadie, Happy Easter!
ty :)
gm scrab and sadie too, happy easter
Happy Easter to you also Scrabbler :)
Happy Easter Scrabbler, how are you Bunnies?
I have 4 Easter Bunnies with me today and they are so excited to be eating their morning salads.
actually turned out to be a wonderful day here also
Where are you Sadie?
awww thats sweet Scrabbler
sheesh
i answered you in the grid Scrabbler lol
I am in southeastern Pa a transplant from Pittsburgh
my parents live in south central pa sadie
I am southeast of Buffalo and our Sabres are trying to catch your Flyers, haha.
where in south eastern penn?
oh neat red
lolol Scrabbler
near Carlisle...
between allentown and philly in the country algel
er
angel
Hey, red, are you like me and always trying to enter "crit"?
k, i'm in south jersey about a half hour from phila
i am, and i only watch medical shows
ohhhh ok cool
every time...
Hi Hurshy. "crit" is short for hematocrit which is approx 3 x the hemoglobin which is a measure of red blood cells. '
hi hursh
i had a pt with a very low one last night...
ah, thanks sc, it's always silly to be entering a word when you don't really know what it means and it isn't even a word anyway
And today's hematology lesson was brought to you by Dr Scrabbler, sponsored by iron.
Why, red?
vulcans don't have hemoglobin, because their blood is copper based. they have something else instead.
AND FOLIC ACID!
Haha, yes, red.
oops dog helping me type.
Really, hursh, copper-based blood?
just upper gi bleed, but scary for a moment..
yep
that's why it's green instead of red
Wasn't there an episode of House with a patient with Wilson's Disease---copper metabloism problem causing psychiatric and liver problems.
COOL HURSH..
darn it all.... dog...
I am not a Trekkie so that is really cool to learn.
might be sc, i don't recall offhand
aha perfect time to turn up! hurshy smurshy! YAY! and scrabbler! I have a suitably gory question!
hi ata,
hi ata :)
hi ata
Blood, guts....tell us.
*grins* how does a doctor strip out a major vein surgically? eg the cephalic vein from elbow up to where to joins back into the heart area?
Where did Atalante go? I hope she is bleeding and now unconscious.
LOL was just trying to rack brain for vein names!
why would you want to take out a vein?
THERS GOT to be a video of it on Utube, eh....
Strip? As in for varicose veins? Sometimes injections are done, or they can insert a wi4, but I am trying to think why THAT vein?
hursy, sometimes they take a vein out of the leg, and use it for the heart.
cos it might end up happening to sister ...
Your poor sister. What is happening now?
because she's got a new non-healing wound at the inside of her elbow, and if the vein gets infected, surgeon says he'll need to strip out the vein
can't they do something to make sure the vein DOESN'T get infected?
Oh, he might tie it off to prevent flow back to her heart. **just thinking**
Good afternoon all. Back in the 80s, when I was first in the operating theatres, they snipped the vein at the e.g. top of leg, and at the other end through 2 small cuts...the you pulled it out...I recall it well as one of the first operations I took part in!
would get a second opinion before allowing that ata - we clear infections - major ones - in veins all the time without removing them
hi annie!!
hi annie
Hi AnnieOakley! That's how the saphenous vein is removed from the leg to be used for coronary artery bypasses.
that is a bad idea - would leave her with major swelling problems in the arm
hello Red, happy Easter...I wish you many eggs!
Yes, kje, I thought the same thing.
i want no more gi bleed surprises thanks...
make sure someone besides a surgeon is in charge - ie: if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail really applies to surgeons - they have a knife
hello annie Happy Easter
Hello Scrabbler...the one I saw related to simple varicose vein removal...I was amazed how tough it was to pull out and how thick the vein as...stuck well in my memory!
am just fascinated about the mechanics of doing it!
Hi Sadie, happy Easter and much chocolate to you!
hopefully none of you are surgeons : )
the problem, kje, is that she can't ever get rid of infections. once they are there, they stay for a looong time
no offense
i think that is why house has a team of a neurologist and a... what's the one that specializes in infections?... and a... gosh what is chase anyway?
Red--aren't the alcoholic GI bleeders just awful. I still remember one from med school.
Nope, kje, I am a pediatrician.
good morining, everyone
I'm an internist - geriatrics
What do you do, kje?
gm bubba
they are really scary, because they can bleed out like that, i had a pt tech wanting to start the iv's but i will admit, he is so slow, so i just did it...
And he4 is our orthopod---Bubba!
hi bubba
and a best friend who is an oncologist... all the different perspectives
good for you for doing peds scarlet - no money in that one : )
Cool, kje! Where did you go to med school?
I recall a lady with advaced syphyllis who was also an alcoholic, and her urine smelt of brandy...I was only a nurse, but went into midwifery, becoming a senior sister KJE
hey now, nothing wrong with nursing.
UT Houston, intern/residency/fellowship in baltimore - now at UT in Dallas
Yes, overworked and underpaid, bossed around by many mothers, but the kids are fun (most of the time).
No, shouldn't say only a nurse...sorry...i'm proud of my background!
love nurses - why won't anyone do it anymore!!! we need more!!!
Yes, red--you guys do the real work, we just give orders.
its ok annie, i say it all the time
kje its because the job is very very difficult.
I left it to deal with complaints in our National Health Service!!! Thanks Red
especially good floor nurses - make the difference in whether my patients go home or end up in nursing home
and the pay, especially in texas, stinks. texas is one of the lowest paying states...
In UK, the doctors don't give orders, the nurses do!!!!
when I was in the hospital last May I had a nurse that was wonderful and gave me moral support and good advice, bless Miss Drake! hello everyone! Happy
Really, Annie--like ordering meds, tests, etc?
easter!
And our other Annie is he4!!
If the doctors aren't pulling heir weight, the nurse can go senior, but they don't order tests (though midwives do).
If the doctors aren't pulling heir weight, the nurse can go senior, but they don't order tests (though midwives do).
gm annie, happy easter
Hello Annie
bye all - off to meet my team and round
Our patients tend to have everything done, ordered, etc before the doc sees them, I routinely order x rays, and lab test here scrabbs, but thats typical in the ED don t think it is on the floor.
Bye kje!
bye kje, tc and happy easter
Ithink the same is here too Red in ED (though we call that A&E) and only senior nurses
We dont really have a differentiation between senior nurses and other ones...but of course if i am ordering a head ct, the doc should be in there seeing the pt anyway...
What is A & E?
i've sort of wanted to do a travel assignment to the uk, but it seems a bit complicated and not profitable...;0
accident and emergency scrabbs,
accident and emergency
It's Accident & Emergency...no, don't think profitable at mo...
the ed in the uk, note not accident, emergency and sore throat.!!
Red, you'd be very welcome here...specialist nurses very needed
Yes, the definition of emergency is relative.
Sore throats here too in A&E sadly...
It would be really interesting, I imagine!!!
Major eye opening!!!!!!!
so How has everyones Easter been? Any nice surprises???
No, my partner bought my secretary an egg, but nothing for me :-(
lol annie...
sorry.
Ha ha! He did that cos I hadn't thought and he felt sorry for her! I thnk it was sweet of him
nice then!
LOL!
My children are at uni so they ar saving their pennies so I won't let them buy me one...collecting my son from sation soon so looking forward to seeing him...that's best gift!
Oh that isgoing to be very nice!
I just woke up less than 1 hr ago after going to bed after midnight last night.
:-)
Wha time is it there Scrabbler?
Scrabbler,nuts!
scrabbs, how are the Easter bunnies?
hurshy, if you are still he4, I just took my turn in Scrabble.
Can you tell I'm not into the puzzle today?!!
Iamgoing to babble andbit andthen sleep, onemoreshiftin mymonsterweek
It is 10:53 AM.
space ba r issue
Sorry to interrupt you girls, but I need a little help with the in8/40
phantom: horripilate
My 4 Easter bunnies are so sweet! Bunny Callie is 1 foot away, stretched out on her belly--so adorable!!
No, thanks Wren, I need to concentrate!
ExWr4--your name is in the grid!
awwwww how is she feeling, scrabs?
Hi BR!
Bad pontious Pilate Bab Rab?
that was my first word!
Haha, I get it now.
in 8 -- almost mistaken diatribe
Yahoo for you, ExWr4!!
Scrabbs, so glad Callie is better...give them a nice pat from me
in + to make a mistake + a picnic pest
thanks, angel
I am still stunned everytime I see her being so lively. She has a new lease on her bunny life.
Meaning: 1. To experience goose flesh, skin-creeping, or bristling hair out of fear. 2. To cause goose flesh, the skin to creep, or the hair to bristle out of fear.
I am concerned that the dog may be ill, he is simply laying on the bed beside me and notharassing me...
TY angelina!
Oh, no, poor doggy!!
Oh poor dog
poor doggie
Is that definition for the same in8, BR?
He seems find, had a nice walk, but he never really lets me type.
hi. happy easter to those who celebrate.
Perhaps he is maturing.
good clue angelina, thank you
Hi TJ!
Happy Easter TJ, welcome to the grid.
phantom: horripilate
Hello TJ
Oh, for that word, BR--haha!

dw

bye annie
have a good Holiday Annie!
have a wonderful visit with your son, Annie
I had to put her down. She bites and it hurts and leaves a bruise for several days. I have to give her medication every day and that is when I get bit.
Yes, susan, I was looking for the D word and guessed it must be DW.
yikes!!! sounds like a cat i had.
d+chianti
thanks all poof
TY AnnieBrook!
TY, Annie of Brooklyn!
youre welcome
Oh, got that d word...been buggin me since I started. Thanks for confirming it is dw!
Hi Uni, happyeaster
Hi Uni---I figured it had to be DW, but I didn't see dweeb and dwift wasn't accepted, as in Don't let the boat dwift away.
Thanks Annie! Family day here...brothers just came over and we had a little egg hunt, very fun! Even flurries occasionally.
hello all :D
I didn't even think of dweeb Scrabs...shows how "on" my brain is.
Hi Meow
ellow ann :D
Betty Bater bought some butter but she said this Butter is bitter if i put it in my batter it will make my batter bitter. But a bit of better butter is bound to make my batter better. so she bought a bit of better butter then she put it in her batter and her batter wasn't bitter.
hiya meow
Hi Meow
excellent, BR
ellow scrab n sadie :D
hi all.. thanks or that babble, reminds me of my childhood
That must be as hard to type as it is to say, BR
Hi Doren!
hiya Doren
Hi Dorens, Happy Easter
Hi .. scrabs, did I tell you yet that Jeremy will be staying at harvard?
same to you annie, and all else .. happy easter
yeah.. happy easter to all... i almost forgot :D
good morning, everybody - speaking about childhood, I just colored 6 eggs to keep up an Easter tradition that no one here cares about but me
i thought everybody liked coloring eggs, jbv. did you boil them with onion skins?
No, you didn't tell me but that is great, Doren. I was justtelling one of my med students about your son's book, as we were talking about physician-patient dynamics.
Jbv, my father couldn't find an egg dying kit anywhere in his town...we used food colouring and markers. I was surprised at first, then sad that easter is now ONLY about candy..even the bunny and eggs have been forgotten (I am not into the religious aspect at all)
Hi JBV
I went shopping yesterday at about 5 pm--no eggs left to buy!!
i always loved coloring them, too. next year my oldest will be old enough. am looking forward to it.
well, my son did it with me until last year (he's 24) but he was working last night so we didn't do it together, I did not want to let the tradition just die out
I am a Tetris freak, Uniquity!
Scrabs, I assumed all babble nuts might be :)
JBV, thats nice. We used to blow the eggs and then dye them, but we dont really di it anymore, Maybe my sister does.
well, his book will be out in paperback in september.. and he was offered a tenure track professor thing.. half at the university in history of science, half at the med school.. social mediciine. he's veryexcited
dorens, don't know about onion skins, and I found out too late that you're supposed to color the eggs while they're still warm, but they came out fine anyway
I read that tetris is most popular among women as we like toput things in order neatly.
Happy Easter everyone...
i loved tetris in college. wasted many an hour.
Hi Lori Ann---Happy Easter to you.
you are supposed to color eggs when they are warm? Why? 40 years and I did not know that
it's fun with little kiddies - we used to hide them and give him clues to go hunting...
I adore tetris...I use freetetris.com now. Nothing like the original, but decent.
I blow my eggs...they never get warm!
Finished this grid!!
i liked boiling them with onion skins and they came out a really soft brown/yellow color
yay bubba
baby needs attention. bye all!
One of my nephews gave me his GameBoy years ago when he upgraded to a newer one, and I played tetris for many hours---got 377, 000+ points as my record.
dorens, congratulations to your son (and to you) for his success
Yay Bubba! Take care tee_jay
yahooo for Bubba.
Bye TJ
I don't have much time for the grid this morning. I am cooking Easter Lunch for family. I did'nt get much sleep last night so I hope all tastes well!!! LOL
and scrabbler, I don't play tetris, but I get the same feeling of putting things in order with Taipei -
Coffee anyone? I finished my first cup.
having one :)
yes, dorens, congrats to your son! You must tell us the name of his book.
mine is mocha "D
LOL Scrabbler! That is intense...I have a Super Nintendo emulator and play on that quite often. I was a big fan of Dr. Mario as a child. Similar concept, but a bit more strategic in a way
I'll have one Scrabbs!!! Maybe I better have a double.
wurdy, the suggestion for warm eggs was printed on the back of the coloring kit
He4 is the coffee---> hot, hot.
*holds out cup for more coffee*
Hot chocolate? Mm, I am going to go make some!
Doren, I will look up his book again.
My grandaughter had a high temperature last evening, we were going to take her to the E.R. but tylenol brought it down to about 101. We did'nt get to sleep until about 4:oo am! I think I need more than a cup of coffee!! LOL
Yay Lori!
Appropriate management of fever!!!
Fever is our friend--it just means the immune system is working.
How is she today??
Haha, and the turtle pokes her head out again.
I have been in the grid and thinking about sleep, and being preturbed by the dogs desirable behavior.
It does scare me when it get high though scrabbs. She is still running a low grade fever red, thanks for asking.
I am finding this grid to be tough.
A higher fever is no worse than lower--what matters is the big picture, what the other symptoms are, and how the child is behaving. A child could be very ill and have no fever at all.
Happy Easter! ...How many words today?
Me too Scrabbs...But I would probably find any grid tough today!!!
167 phae
Some viruses, such as Roseola, cause "high" fevers.
Hi phaeton
just broke my espresso machine... not happy about that. and yes, i find it kinda tough too scrab
many hotheads have no fever
But sudden high fevers can cause febrile seizures in kids prone to that sort of thing.
hello scrabbler
thank you red
LOL BR!
Most febrile seizures occur before the parents were even aware of their kid having a fever.
true, BR.
She does have a runny nose and is cutting teeth Scrabbs, so I think it is a combo. She also has a little bit of wheezing.
Aw, Doren...now what?
Yes, because they are sudden.
Ah, she probably has bronchiolitis---a "chest cold".
we almost have febrile in the grid today - how about febrin?
I mean the temp goes up suddenly. of course seizures are usual;ly sort of sudden and unexpected.
What is a febrile seizure???? Now I'm in a PANIC!!!
Yes, and scary for parents to witness.
hello everyone! waiting for my cannoli mixture to be done ..Happy Easter! and to those that dotn celebrate Happy Sunday !
No, do NOT panic Lori Ann!
Hi Carra
Lori, no worries. You are watching her fever too carefully for that I believe.
Hi carra...
Looks like a fit lori - and it is scary
Hi Scrabbler
Hi Lori
Hi everyone by the way
Are you serving Cannoli in the PB?
Lori Ann--keep her comfortable with Tylenol and keep her hydrated.
Hi JFB
Scrabbs, I just tried again with the crit....fwhat they hey....
Haha, RTH! Change the last letter--I just found cr4.
lol red sure ;)
My son had on at 2 years but only because he had a urine infection - absolutely fine afterwards. Took us about a month to get over it though
I will Scrabbs, thank you all so much for your advise and your ears to listen to me~~ She is playing with her pop pop now so I think she's feeling better.
If she is smiling and drinking then she is doing just fine, LoriAnn.
JFB--it is unusual for boys to have urinary infections.
I am going to go finish getting lunch prepared. I may be back later today after a full belly and a nap!!! Have a great day everyone. And thank you again for being such great friends!!
This one has always been awkward!!
Bye, Lori Ann--enjoy your Easter meal.
Ok I am fading, joining pooch for nap, Happy Easter to all who celebrate!!!!
What would we do without our resident doctors and nurses...I love reading the consolation and straightforward information Scrabbler, RedT and others tend to provide.
And I need breakfast--bye all.
It is just factual info to stomp out myths and fears, Uniquity.
Enjoy your nap, red.
enjoy your breakfast Scrabbler
Enjoy your sleep Red, and your breakfast Scrabs. Have a good day!
I have to decide on what to have for breakfast....yogurt, cereal...?
oh, yum...or should i say ho hum :)
how about yogurt on your cereal?
with some nice fresh fruit
Granola cereal in yogurt?
Crunchy!!
sounds good, scrabbler
are there any 8 words?
have to leave for a while, happy Easter to all!
Bye Annie

Yep look at the help box above the log and also at the link below for licektys clues.
there is a link at the bottom of your screen...I use lickety's...it gives the starting two letters for each word, total tiles in the word and total points of the word. take a look-------->
yeperek, you can tell some stuff from the tile stats and word stats, but mostly people who ask for a particular word clue are using Lickety's Babble Clues, from the link in green down below the tile stats.
Yay, it's Ata!
TY LIND rotflmao. as ii wack self in head with it realy hard and a few times lol
hello ata!
ahhhh ok, thanks all :)
LOL
hi ata
Speak for yourself Vi, some of us have crystal baals or are just geniusus jeaneouses, geneussses, Ummm klever?
FM hates me :( *sadness*
also, lickety has a neat little thing called babble expert which some of us use. It puts clues and grid all on one screen.
OH, poor Ata! How could she be so cruel?
Oh my! Hello Ata didn't see you come in, but you did stand me up :((
I know *cries*

Hello Scrabbler
there have been lots of dull moments. just not this week.
60 to find i think FM
real similar to the second er4/4, but ends in a vowel
What are you going to do in New Haven? There should be no shortage of interesting opportunities there, at least.
hello scrabbs!
hi scrabs wb
well i have not yet lined up a job yet. i've just put out some feelers.
oops, redundant.
Yes, well, there are a lot of moments, after all. I guess the majority of them are bound to be dull.
two of our former students have been in march madness, but gilbert is out now, he plays for pitt. but jack is playing right now, for Miami.
Vi, lovely painted egg in your icon, one of yours or a web image?
madness is year around
I have been watching basketball since Thursday--I get hooked at this time of year, thus the term, "March Madness".
not finding it for soem reason
Mine, FM! My most successful effort from this year.
hi babble
not in NCAA basketball, brabble :)
True, BR, madness abounds.
oh man the whole lickety page eased everything in an instant ^^;
It's beautiful Vi, well done :)
Thanks Nonnie - im going to do that. I hate going back forth between to screens - although I have firefox - I also have IE.
babble i keep thinking your icon is a pint of guinness!!

Oui tu! was just seeing if you were still there. IM?
like oops
I love the colours. done witha very steady hand!
Vic - that eggs is gorgous!
oui! je suis ici! et je suis là sur IM aussi!
That was the same for me, Jindigo. I usually can't complete the grid without the clues so it makes life a whole lot less complicated just to have everything on one screen. Yep, if you like the clues you too might like "babble expert".
MLF - my fav places?
Thanks, Jindigo. The colors of the dyes are just so rich.
perhaps you're missing the last er4/4, ml and that would be a mistake(s) ;o)
MLFAN - i just saw your question - was disctracted by hubby returning with chocolate and pie - had to stop.
Jind when i installed the expert i have to look up the game its in a folder on my puter somewhere and not with my other links i go to but the original babble is
Just how do dyes amass a fortune?

in some of my word searching today, I came across the word, "schreck". I recognized the (probable, at that point) relationship to our favorite green movie star, so I followed it up. It means "fright"! is there anybody on right now who knows yiddish? I've a feeling it's the same there
I know some yiddish Tyger.. and I would agree but I am not certain
the alteration is pretty obvious - Murkans get freaked if there are too may letters :P - and I think the meaning is funny. and meant to be, of course; an inside joke, so to speak
schrek means something really awful, could be frightening
back again
wb Lind
ty dr
There are a lot of yiddishisms in the movies as inside jokes. There used to be a lot more, the younger generations don't really speak it, they just know a few words.
My Dog is an inside joke.. his name is schmutz
I mean those in the movies. There are still a lot of communities where Yiddish is the vernacular.
thx, mich. I thought I recalled a longer word, and managed to work it out (schrecklichkeit). it has an interesting history to English speakers back during World War I. I'm putting all this up in the thread on Angelsong's site about real words not in Enable - this as a sidenote, of course
My grandmother was from Hungary and spoke hungarian and Yiddish along with english
I hope your dog doesn't understand Yiddish, dr
doesn't schmutz mean dirty or sooty?
LOL Mich- No he doesn't. We just thought itwas the perfect name for a schnauzer who likes being dirty
or something worse??
Tyger, the longer ending ***ichkeit, makes the word into a noun. i.e. Yiddish actually means Jewish whereas Yiddishkeit is Judaism (or its study).
for a schnauzer - luv it
No, schmutz is just dirty
LOL dr
a friend named a kitten that. they found her under the hood of the car (winter in Michigan), and she was all greasy & dirty from trying to get warm (just a kitten), and was hurt when they started the car (didn't know she was there until she howled)
Poor Kitty!
aaawww
yup. there was permanent neurological damage
my baby is a jack russell called 'Harry"
they finally had to put her to sleep when she was about 7
Cute. My greatgrandmother used to call my mom "Meeskeit" which she loved until she learned it meant "ugliness". My greatgrandma was just afraid of the Evil Eye.
there was a tremendous amount of that in Europe not that long ago, wasn't there, mich?
Aha, I enter with a discussion of Mal Occhio.
wb scrabs
Hi Scrabs
A trenendous amount of what, Tyger?
My mother is on the phone--chattering away.
Amer Indians (or Natives, if you prefer) did a lot of that, but the reason was to keep children from becoming vain
evil eye fears
ca 6/27 the second one please
hey, scrabs, howarya?
Katie- add the sometimes vowel to the 5 above
ca6/27: someone who works for a circus
I am having a quiet weekend, Tyger.
My greatgrandmother had actually come to America by then, but yes there was a lot of that.
ca 6 ca* the vehicle & can i br*** you with some chocolate!!
good. those are always nice. any news about Ben?
Thank you Lindrick
yw katie
My grandmother from Italy talked of "mal occhio"---evil eye.
carryon
oops, I miscounted
LOL tyger
Oh sorry!!!!!! PB for me!!
Ben does have bone cancer and has begun care at the local cancer center. I will hear more details this week.
yup, scrabs; just like I said. that seems to have been a continent-wide phenom
Kate to the PB !! lol
praying for him daily, sometimes more
katie, whatsisname filled the PB with w*** ealier so enjoy your drink!!
TY, tyger. He has a major battle ahead.
Oh that's great, mind you I've probably had enough w*** which is why I ended up in the PB in the first place!!
no doubt. we can only hope for the same outcome for him as Mary, but it seems scarier to me
LOL
first fe5 please?
katie, hit the chocolate instead :)
Who is Ben?
1st fe5: fe + spanish body of moving water
fe & hook & 2 vowels
Ben is a 15 yr old patient of mine and he has metastatic bone cancer. I had to tell his parents and then him, on March 13.
Lol eating my way through the easter egg, everyone knows its an antidote to w*** ;-)
Oh Scrabbler I'm sorry, I will include him in my prayers
I am sorry to hear that Scrabs. We will pray for his family too
oooh scrabs that is the day i was told i didn't have cancer! good news to one bad news to another
so much for HIPAA : )
It is terribly sad and unfair, especially as when he was 5 his mother died during childbirth with the 3rd child.
I hate HIPAA sometimes KJE
aaawww
That is AWFUL SCrabs
kje-have I provided too many details?
I shouldn't have started talking about chocolate. Now I'm having trouble keeping my mind off the (remainder of the) bag of Lindor dark choc truffles
Oh no, some people just have too much to bare
I was teasing you scarb
scrabs, you aren't giving us IDs - that's what counts, I think
what's HIPAA
or scrab
Phew, kje, I didn't want to be busted. Federal crime.
Benjamin is not an unheard-of name
Thanks for asking kthdsn I don't know either
health privacy, kth
well on that sad note i am leaving as my dinner is ready, may be back later
I busted th epeople who took my xrays
never know who's lurking Scrabs
and there are probably many thousands of teenage Bens
Health Info and privacy something
later, lin
Accountability Act
oh right
it's a federal law
kje, you are making me paranoid.
And as we are all over the world we would never know, sometimes you need to be able to share with people who will never know the individuals
don't be scrabs.. you did not violate Hipaa
Health Information Privacy Accountability Act
and your ID is also not on the site, scrabs - it's a double blind situation (not to get academic or anything) :)
KJE- are you in th emedical profession?
yes
Scrabs, I will add ben and his family to the list of people I send white light to....
kje covers the opposite end of the spectrum, scrabs :D
AH.. that makes sense then because people do not usually know all th erules of HIPAA
Anyway, when Ben was diagnosed I was very upset, especially after the discussion in which I broke the news.
I work for a health insurer
wrong - Health Information Portability and Accountability Act
Will he qualify for treatment? Surgery?
I couldn't remember where the portable part went
He will start chemo soon.
Is fe6 related to the fe5 before it?
scrabs, you were very upset when you found out, several days before you told the family - and I think it's perfectly reasonable - and the kind of reaction I'd want my doctor to have!
no
yes, scrabs, 1st 4 letters
Oh, good.... I hope the chemo is effective. Will he keep his limb? I think of RFK, Jr and a whole lot of others...
me too tyger, I think caring counts for more than privacy, especially when it hasn't been violated anyway
different word Scrab, though first 4 letters the same
Pediatrics and geriatrics have many similarities, just as pediatrics is similar to veterinary medicine. My vets and I share stories about young animals and trying to examine them.
and I'd want prayers from anywhere and everywhere available!!
Hi all, back thuogh I am afraid I have no time ti finish.
me too tyger, prayers from across the world can only help, I will put him on the list for our church
youngest son of people I went to church with when I was in my late teens (this son was born years afterward) had to have arm amputated @ shoulder due to bone cancer
hey, turtle
Hi RTH
Hi red, give it a go ;-)
Hi, red!
I've sent word to priest friend in Rome, as well as my local church
kje--are you a nurse?
TY, tyger
(((((())))))). tyger
red - you have 7 hours!
doc pam
I'm going for dinner, be back on later, bye all
but what scrabs gave out is MUCH less than what goes in some of those emails that go around the net for *years*
hi
I have to go to work, so I have like 30-20 minutes.
hey, sqr
bye kthdsn
Oh, kje
Hi squrell
Hi sqr
go, turtle! :)
later, kth
bummer red - I just got home from work
what's your specialty, kje?
I finally figured out that fe6 after many silly tries.
geriatrics
it wasn't exactly an obvious one Scrabs
scrabs, you only have to ask to get explicit clues, but you don't usually seem to want them?
It's OK, This is my last night out of the crazy 60 hour work week and starts the next one, And I only have 11 days left!!!
Oh, I mst have missed that--that's why Scrabs mentioned the similarities.. Sorry.. I worked for years in Assisted Living--office stuff...
Scrabbs, how did you find an FE anything?
60 hours? Gotta love Health care, LOL
Yea!!! It was my last day out of 28 staright in the hospital wards - I'm taking tomorrow off!
I ask for clues when desperate. I try to work on my own if I have unlimited time.
cool Pam - asst living is a growing field
Yay! and yes Pam, the OT rate was good, but...I am now very tired.
You deserve it, kje@@@@@@@@@
any na 5/12??? :(
makes me happy to have a job with 38 hours a week (usually more like 50) with 35 days holiday a year!!
Enjoy your day off, kje!
I am sure you are, red. (((())))
no doubt, turtle!!
plural of na 4/5
2 of the FE words are "normal"
na5/12 plural of preceding na4/5
ey5 please
snap, kje
I am sure it does, katie!
you're funny tyger
ey5 is weird - ey + hook + vowel + hook
thanks, I think
I work approx 28-32 hrs/wk, not counting on-call hours or rounding.
hello all back to find my last 45 words
Oh my goodness, I finally see the F in the upper left, I thought there wa sonly one F, soing well on puzzle cant you tell?
I meant it good tyger
Phantom for KJE, RTH and me = fibrin
I wondered why you said that red!
Hi periwinkle
We have great holidays makes everything else worthwhile (remind me of that when I have a bad meeting coming up)
scrabs, not counting rounds is not properly accounting for those hours - much less the stress of on-call!
Hi Peri
any help with the last ch 5 and 6?
go Peri go Peri go go go Peri
hey, peri
ch - singing group and groups
Scrabbler, I was Sooooo Annoyed when it wasnt in the puzzle today, as it really is a legit word. More legit that PHAT.... grrrr. Go peri!

kind of a weird word
I use IE. regular old IE.
I'm on windows vista and use explorer :-)
Mac - Safari
I hate netscape.. but then, I use a mactop and Love firefox
it's Greek - plural for temple (a very small one)
I miss my old mac, but they became unaffordable for me.

Theme for tomorro Westford, is solar Flare.
LOVE Mac!

Hi, stid!
my husband has a dell at work
hey stid!
in6/21: to perform a rite
I din't think so tyger I just need them both!!!
kje -- intriguing icon!
chat is going too fast
I think I'll change things around bbs
hey littlebit! where have you been hiding?
in8: absolutely incapable of error (think of Bible)
fi + opposite of yeses
it does that sometimes, peri :)
I know Peri - it is making me dizzy
later, west
i've been lurking a lot!
thanks stid - it is a Magritte painting
thanks didn't see that S in the upper right
making me dizzy too
still 35 words left
guess I don't know my sherries! thanks!
S, peri? no s in either IN
I'm on Safari now
she was on a F word tyger - keep up!!! ; )
got the in8, thanks tyger
Cool Westofrd.
no 4/5 is kinda strange???
oh, well
how is it working for you west?
French, meow
never use safari--do you like it?
so far so good
I am back with hot tea, plus I gave the bunnies their evening salads.
hello scrabbler! happy easter to you.
i got the french night already.... @_@>.. seems the one is eluding me
that was quick scrab
I use Firefox on a desktop. A laptop is on my wishlist.
yum,,,, might be time to boil up some water for more mint tea
I've watched four football matches today but WWF has just come on so have to change channels now!
I have hot tea too
what kind of tea, scrabs? exotic, plain or herbal?
oooh - tea... BRB (I'm so impressionable)
I use safari for most things
LOL, kje
Hi Stid + family. Happy Easter to oyu!
Scrabs, I thought of you when I watched the news yesterday. Lots of neglected bunnies removed from someone
I just had a hot bowl of potsticker soup... LOL
someone's home
peppermint tea--my fave
haven't had a cuppa in a while. sounds good
thanks cousin! the kids and Tom send their love right back atcha!
I'm having Dunkin' Donuts coffee first in 40 days gave it up for Lent
decaf Earl Grey
somebody was hoarding bunnies?
**waving to Tom and the Stidkids**
Good Job Westford!
apparently tyger
So how does it taste, Westford?
I drank Earl Gray obsessively for about 6-7 years, back in the 80s (but not decaf)
there were lots of them 40-50 I think
EY 5 please? my last E
oh, poor bunnies. so glad they're rescued
I drink regular Earl Grey too
yes, westford, how is it?
still love Earl Grey my English friend says it tastes like dish soap lol
ey5: ey hook vowel hook
LOLOL!
Earl Grey is an acquired taste :)
I like Earl Grey a lot!
pam do you mean safari or the coffee?
thanks tyger, got it!
I can't believe w*** is in the grid and the impressionable people are on tea!!!
yw, stid - Iceland's pennies (I looked it up)
I don't like "Earl Grey" -- too much bergamot -- but the Ms. Grey from Murchie's is lovely
LOL--I asked about Safari earlier, now I mean the coffee
lots of w words
the coffee wasn't as good as I hoped
never had Ms. Grey would like to try it but never saw it in the stores
ah -- yes, it does seem like a viking word, now that you mention it!
that's too bad..
yes, indeed, west - lots & lots of em
hi guys back for a bit!
we saved a lot of money husband used to go every morning
wb, lin
Perhaps Westford, you need to go take yourself to Ocean ROasters and get a nice bag of fresh ground right before your eyes coffe....
ty tyger
Teenage wives is on TV was hoping it was the one with THE DRESS but I don't think it is
I have a grinder
I am thinking of switching from coffee (I have it in the AMm only) and going to tea exclusively. I aspire to be Hazel, FMitch and the other UK-ers.
Kroger & A&P useta have coffee grinders in their stores
you bought house brand beans, and ground them to your taste
FE 6 please? my monkeys are on strike
where is this Ocean Roasters?
I love both, truth to tell!
scrabs, I don't hafta tell you that there's much less caffeine :)
nothing smells better than freshly ground coffee
hey scrabs i am english and can't stand tea!!
I drink mostly tea these days because Tom doesn't like coffee and it's not a lot of fun to drink coffee alone all the time
I used to only drink tea and then was in a long term relationship with a man who drank coffee in the am, man gone but the coffee in the am has stayed
Well there is one in Providence, I go there when I visit my sister...
fe6: fe + hook + w***
fe + Navy, Army, Ma****s
But now they live in Wahefield, so ...
(sounds like you kept the better morning routine peri...)
i agree west i love the smell of coffee
i'm a hot tea drinker myself. i tell people that coffee will stunt my growth!
I like the aroma of coffee more than the taste.
aha! thanks scrabbler!
you mean Wakefield?
Yes, er that is exactly what I mean.
any no 4/6 :(( cant get it.........waaaaaaaaa
oh is that why i am only 5'2" littlebit!!
I drank coffee excessively for several years, starting in my late teens, but shortly after I turned 20, it began giving me horrible heartburn. can't so much as take a sip now
I hate tea and only drink decaf coffee and coke (boy does the coke taste bad!!)
I don't like coffee according to my husband..he drinks his black I put in cream and sugar
oh scrabs i like both aroma and taste
There may be one in Wakefield, but they really miss Providence, and work in Providence, so...
I like coffee and tea
and coke
no4/6: someone who minds other people';s business is no4
could be lin. i'm only 4'10"!
Are you being no4/6 for a clue? Use your proboscis.
lurve the smell of coffee still
I use soy milk, and I am trying to convert to splenda, but I am afraid it will give me brain cancer.
i love the taste
coke meaning coca cola :-)
aaawww how cute littlebit!!
brb. gonna check on popovers...
I use splenda
back until the water boils
Littlebit--you are little!
popovers!!! YUM!
love splenda BTW
I thought you meant cocaine, periwinkle.
splenda tastes like yuck to me
my brother was really into gourmet coffees for awhile roastted his own beans and then ground them
LOL Scrabs, never touiched the stuff
my hubby is 6"2"!
lol scrab
I tried it, and had to throw out the box
I have always been of the mind that real sugar is only 16 cals a packet or teaspooon, but currently I am trying to really limit calories...not running enough out here.
*toiuched* even
oh wow littlebit you will need a ladder!! LOL
Haha, Peri--me either.
I like splenda better than equal or the pink packet
Wow! Westford, I like to go to nice roasters, but I dont htink I'd ever get into the roasting process! Net/
he bends over :D
use it mostly in my drinks, and occasionally in hot creal
I stopped using artificial sweeteners several years ago. was having bladder probs
I like splenda :-)
hahahahahahaha LOL you are funny littlebit!!
roasting coffee is supposedly easy - I have several friends who roast a fresh pot every morning
bit, he could probably as easily pick you up? :)
I'm back to real sugar for the same 16 calorie reason just heard the substitutes make your body think it has to keep the fat
ty lin!
katie, to each his (her) own
I was using splenda
I think as soon as I start running more appropriate miles, i will go back to regular sugar, giing up Half and Half has been my biggest food sacrifice to date...
yw littlebit
which is supposed to be made from real sugar
he's never picked me up!
oh, wow, Russian Orthodox choir singing just now on radio
check out sweetmarias.com they have all the roasting stuff
PB for tyger!!!
nothing like real sugar and half and half
Well, littlebit, its about time!!!
*lurve* those Russian bassos
PB tyger!!!
really, bit???
I willl kje
oh, man. didn't know I'd said a Word! sorry
the first guy i dated who only bent over!
since we're redoing the whole kitchen I might just get one of those coffee pots that grinds the beans too
LOL tyger
The first 3 IN words are eluding me---help please?
they're very popular just now, west
in6/24: in + curved top of doorway
the first is in plus short name for jughead's friend
in & marble **** in london UK
in 6/21: perform a magical rite
Sounds very goos Westford. I would like to get a grinder myself, we'll see. I am going home in 11 days and my main thing to get is my blender.
in4/6 1/12 of a foot
in & i just c*** do it!
I wanted to see if she knew who jughead's friend was
Thanks Lindrick, Fireworks
are you counting the minutes red?
LOL, west
WTG katie
Yes, and no.
Yea K-K-K- Katie!
she is a different generation from us, you know
how much time off will you have?
As always at the end of a contract, I have a huge cleaning blitz, and packing and making sure everything is completed for the contract, so I am a bit...overwhelemd.
Lol kje the stutter always makes me laugh
oh forgot to introduce you to my daughter earlier, well you probably know her better than you know me!!
Ty for the in6's and in4!!
yw
my eldest child is kthdsn!!
who is your daughter lind?
Yippee for Kaite
usually 2 weeks, and I think its about 2 this time. The other reason for working the long hours, West, because that 2 weeks off every 3 months can put one in the poorhouse.
And for Katie too
kthdsn west!!
back. the y burned. :-( last time I follow a new recipe to the letter!
Yay Katie.
I understand
that's great Lindrick, I like it tat2eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesw
I Know kthdsn! I met you last yr, Lindrickway!
bloody cat!!
28 left, need another break, bbs
Oh, no, Stid!
oh, bummer, stid. my mouth was watering at the thought. it's been decades since I made popovers
LOL
are you renting a furnished apartment or will you have to arrange to move furniture too?
That's great Lindrick, I like it that my mom & I play the same game
rofl -- oh lindrick! I know kate! :-)
katie, your kitty wanted to have input :D
oooh popovers I think I'll make some tonight
they're so super easy
How are Kate and the girls doing?
my other daughter comes on here but she changes her name all the time!
well some of them are salvageable... but I am miffed. Apparently they expected the HUGE monster-muffin tins, not the normal-sized ones most of us have at home!
honestly, straight over the laptop, how she got the return is beyond me
Oh no, Westford, my company takes care of all that, I just show up and get the keys. furniture, washer dryer, et should all be there.
west, easy only if you are careful making them!
stid, you didn't realize???
hey Shirlockc, how are you?
they are doing fine than scrabs
do you preheat the popover pan first?
no, I didn't realize -- it has been at least 20 years since I last made popovers!
that's good red but still it's a pain getting all the personal stuff packed up
hey tones
yes, it can be nerve wracking, luckily I have started a week ago so its about 1/3 done...
ya gotta have monster pans, or else put tiny little dabs of dough per cup
playing regularly now?
Happy Easter, Everyone :)
yes i am hooked
oh well... live and learn. Next time i will lower the temp a little and shorten the time a bit and they will be fine. They still taste okay (once I take off the bottoms), but aren't "company" fit.
And I can not wait to be so hot I want to complain about heat....
hello Nan! happy spring!
hey, shir - saw the earlier greeting, but couldn't find YOU :)
all I have to do is move everything out of the kitchen and I haven't done any of it
hi cybernan

Bye RTH
Stidmama, do you have a microplane grater? It'll grate the burned bits off your popovers. You can use other kinds of graters, but the microplane is hands down the best.
knew you meant dog lol and it sounds really great
later, turtle
hi all. back for another break from packing and, besides, the toddler's with dad and the baby's asleep. might get 10 before she wakes up.
good idea jan

But it is twisty, Stid.
I had probs with it too, stid

cool - I lived on the Upper East for a bunch of years - now in NJ, but hubby works in the city and we go in often
I do love it--easy to get around for a non-driver!
It's just all too much form me, Asg! My brother once said that there, the noises in his head competed with those on the street, and I agree...
fireworks and goodnight all!!
finished those pesky i words
yay pink! 8 left for me!
my husband worked in boston near chinatown, used to bring home the most delicious coconut butter buns
BUT, growing up in NYC exposed me to so much more than most people I know

ohh, that sounds awesome
na = na + army, navy and ma****

oops, sorry
great, andree!
oh, forgot, this game doesn't even take that word!
forgot where you were at, Gwen?
hope not ibd, 2 cars for i person is a bit much and he has to wait for the rest of the money till i sell it, thats the best part, lol
i'm around detroit
couln't happen to a nicer bloke,lol
how funny, i ordered scrambled eggs with cheese and got
sy5/14 please
she sang to the sailors, andree
scrambled eggs...then a separate slice of cheese that i paid 75 cents extra for
sy + w***, a bird
that is weird, ard
thx ibd
restaurant woes?
how bizarre, ard!
have i got the stories . . . LOL
maybe they thought you could microwave it to melt it.
if i had known that, i would have used my own cheese...oh well...lesson learned
wifi is SO a word . . .
agreed, bdg
do share some, gwen
i tried that too, gwen! lol
i've lost count how many times i order something one the menu and when it comes it only vaguely resembles the description. seem to be a restaurant tradition!
why did they include ketchup with my pancakes???
eeewwww! ard, that's gross!
such as "mold lemon flavor" soaking in lemon juice. that sorrt of thing
"mild" not mold (OY)
maybe it's for your eggs? (gag)
ewww, i agree, dawg!
i guess it's to help this awful bacon they destroyed?
ardilla--where are you getting your food? 8-)
just gets worse and worse, huh, ard?
i think whomever put your plate together is really in need of some gastronomic help!
mold lemon flavor?
my mother in law ordered a gin and bitter lemon years ago in germany and got a large glass of gin with abit of lemon floating in it
no, no mild, not mold! (but it wan't mild, which was the point)
a place called the oriental house which has better lunch & dinner
was trying their breakfast for the first & last time
oriental...well, maybe they aren't accustomed to Western breakfasts.
or once i ordered mac and cheese and they sent me a plate of the shittiest looking pasta i've ever seen, and the waitron said they tried to get as much cheese off of it they could, cuz someone in the kitchen thought i "don't like cheese"
lol
what? why in the world would you order mac and cheese if you didn't like cheese? doh!
the bad thing is this place is americanized; it's on an air force base
dawg, yes, you see my point.
i think they need to check out a few more american cook books. starting with Betty Crocker!
my mom once got a coupn for a free box og 8 piece of chirch cuz she wrote to the headquarters about a place where she ordered 8 pieces and got 7, like three times in a row, so she redeems the coupln and guess what, she got only 7 pieces again
clue for 2nd sn4,6 please
good evening, babblers
chicken, not chirch! (OY)
Hi Ping!
lol gwen hi ping
sn+ first two letters of not no
sn4, a small island in a river. rhymes with penultimate letter
hi dawg and ardilla
hi ping
hi andree
or the place where i ordered the chicken strips, and well they didn't look like chicken, didn't smell like chicken, didn't taste like chicken, but at least they were edible
thanks Gwen
8-D
Hubby gets embarrassed when my food is served wrong. I make no bones about how i want my food. I state very clearly how i want things prepared. I don't order bacon because i never get it the way i want it.
lol gwen
one place i went to with a bunch of friends every sunday after church, and i ordered the "hot butter croisant" and got a cold croisant with nearly frozen butter every time
lol gwen
my sister is like that ibd , she goes into great detail, i hate eating out with her, but do often anyway
get the feeling someone is picking on you Gwen?
that last place went out of budness pretty fast. the ambiance was nice but the food, nope
dawg, it's not a feeling, it's a fact. LOL
I'm not that picky, i just want my steak rare, my eggs cooked and not dripping in grease, and my bacon, i liked crisp with all the fat crispy.
well, the pancakes are kinda edible
oh, ardilla... I
my plan when entering a new restaurant is 1) ignore all adjectives on the menu, because they are not put there by the cook staff, and 2) tell 'em how you want your food, very precisely, and tip well if they come even close
hi pam
Hi, ping
why come you can have a snifter if you can't snift?
Gwen, also don't look at pictures! i like to snoop and see what others are eating to see if anything looks good to me at the time
I snoop, lbd
worst $6 breakfast ever! i ate about $2
ey5/14 please
the eggs didn't get better
dawg, you're right, ignore the pictures as well!
maybe you should have put the ketchup on the eggs anyway.
lol lbd
that just stinks, ardilla... so sorry....
gross!!!
$6, can't even get a sandwich here for $6
ey + hook +3rd vowel + hook.
sticking with my usual place next time
i have several restaurant mantras. ice water with no lemon. pork chops with no sauce. coke with no ice. salad with no tomoto, no cheese, no croutons
thx ibd
and no damn chick peas!
dressing on the side!
salad has dressing on the side... toast is dry... extra ice....
days like these i miss my momma's cooking :'(
chick peas? grossier
recently ate out and my mom's toast came with no butter, waitron said that's the way they do it now, unless you ask for butter
(((ARDILLA)))
How long are you there, ardilla?
yeah, who the hell started puttin' chick peas in my salad??
guess it's a cholesterol thing with the butter
5 more months
then where--do you know yet?
1st 2 in 6's please
home for 2-3 weeks then japan for 2 yrs
If I want butter or cream cheese or whatever on my toast, I want to put it on--when they do, it is always WAAAAY too much...
in + curved entryway
in + top of a doorway in a cathedral
Seems like too little time home, ardilla
ardilla my son and family spent 3 years in japan and loved it
in + 3rd letter + picnic pest
thx ibd and book
i'm looking forward to japan
sushi!
ewww!!!
glad you are looking forward to it, ardilla
teriyaki!!!
i'd love to visit Japan. I have distant relatives there.
don't do raw fish...too slimy...*shudders*
tempura, tapanaki, udon, *wipes drool off keyboard.*
my brother was in japan and said one restaurant had a noodle river: like a flowing trough of noodle soup that went all through the restaurant
i visited them 6 times and had a great time, the bullet train is the best
sushi isn't raw fish, actually
sashimi is the raw fish. and it's not slimy when it's fresh
i think that's sashimi
altho, don't eat the mackeral...gag
the lemon they use on the fish actually cooks it and is delicious
i like seaweed rolls
i love rice!!!
gezundheit
that's sushi, ardilla. each one is filled with seasoned rice and other things like veggies, fish, poultry
Hi Hillary

they are in the same order as in lickety lori, you can copy and paste your word list into the bulk add in lickety and they'll go into the right spots
Lori ann if you copy & paste words into Lickety's it should be in the right order.
