it is very possible for a non-native speaker of English to have fun at this site, Babberen. Just start out with short easy words and be happy with every word you find. Those of us who get all words have been playing this game for a long time, and believe me, every word counts :)

I am a native NYer born and bred...I love living here..dont know anything else..I live in Brklyn and know the city so I am quite at home here...grew up in Manhattan...mass transit is fine...they might have to travel in off hours, rush hour can be traumatizing at first..lots of cultural activites..will never get bored...just getting to know NYC is a hoot
I try ti imagine some of my patients getting on and off sub with walker or cane...or carrying all their groceries home...and wonder how some make it
but then, you can get EVERYTHING delivered in NYC it seems, so maybe it is easier than here where they can't and would be more isolated - would be interesting to study

hi, all. I am so much better today. my husband's episode yesterday was due to his having taken his medication for pain too late in the evening the night before last. He is fine today, just staying home to rest. My daughter is not feeling too well, but she has a doctor's appointment this afternoon, and may go to the hospital before that. Turns out the woman whose fault the accident was does have insurance, which is a very good thing. I took a mental health day myself yesterday, and managed to get some rest also.

My old gal has had a few strokes recently... she's either 17 or 18... and has been with me for every Super Bowl and every World Series all those years.

When she had the first few (right in front of me), her back legs could not move... I lifted her to the litter box, made her dishes lower for comfort... and then she walked into the kitchen as though nothing had happened! Oh, deb... I will miss her, but she has given us so much laughter and joy!

when i get the itch to hustle, i go to wordsplay and play 5 x 5 there. there are a lot of users there, usually over 100 at a time. but you have to type and there is no chat. i was a mouser and i liked saying nice find for the best words.

Thanks, stid. He went in the nicest way - no stroke or illness - just went in his sleep. I was expecting it, as he was 9 (a great age for a bunny) and he'd slightly changed his behaviour in the past 3 weeks or so.
Callie is like a 90 yr old lady--but she is still hopping around and eating.

Nut - know just what you mean! My female cat would stand outside with her legs crossed waiting to come in to use the litter tray, rather than 'go' in public. The male cat only uses the litter tray if he has no choice. I'm glad he doesn't use it often as what he does in there is foul and stinky.

my cinder used to never be willing to lay still and be pet, she had to pace up and down on you constantly, and it always had to be HER call, when it was time for petting, if you tried to cuddle when she hadn't jumped up on you, she would just get tense and refuse to relax. so one day i just held her for hours, and when she would try to put her tail up (tense), i would hold it down again. i would pet her when she relaxed and refuse to pet her if she didn't. finally she relaxed and now we are both much happier. she still jumps up for affection but now is willing to lay down and relax to get it. and i can pick her up and cuddle her and she can relax and enjoy that too. but, yes, i can see your point. i think it has helped to have these obvious things pointed out, but would have been better without the extra stuff - perhaps presented by that other fellow they mentioned.
