Hee, hee. No, it was a husky-shepherd playing with my Dane. The other lady let her dog offlead suddenly, and Walter picked just then to have a defiant moment about coming back to me right away. The dog didn't see him and knocked him flat, went through contortions to not land on him, and came back in teh sorry-dog pose to lick his ear.

The dog, Django, got over it pretty quickly. He should have been looking where he was going, but he's 1 and energetinc and under-trained (he's a rescue; he's in school now). If this was anyone's fault it was mine, even though there were errors all round. Including from my dog; when I saw where it was all headed I tried to call her back to distract the other dog but they had too much momentum going.

Now, though, Walter knows why I tell him it's so important to stay where I can pick him up in a hurry when dogs are playing, I know to watch other people like a hawk, the dog knows to glance where he's going, and the other lady knows to let me know when she's going to let him loose.

Here's my usual lunch: stir-fry lots of broccoli with some sugarsnap peas, pork tenderloin, baby corn, and oyster mushrooms. When it all gets softish, add some soy sauce, rice wine, and black bean and garlic paste or chili and garlic paste, dash of sesame oil. Oh, and either do it all in scallion oil or throw insome finely chopped green onions at the beginning.

ok then, they made a BIG mistake with me whe I had Georgia then. I had her at 09:32 on Friday May 26th 2006, and they took my caesarian staples out on Tuesday 30th May. IS that too soon ?? Being as I opened up early hours of the wednesday Morning.

what happened was, when I had Georgia, they let me go home on the monday (I had her friday). The midwife came to see me tuesday, and took all my staples out (I had 18, I still have them all). I went to bed tuesday night, and early wednesday, i got up to see to Georgia, and as I put her back down and turned to get back into bed, I felt all this warmth running down my legs. I had reopened.
I am paying attention, I was writing !!

yes, that would have been pretty early - typical is 10-14 days for most skin lesions unless the face which heals faster or high tension areas which can take longer...if we are talking mucous membrane sites, they heal faster - like 7 -10 days
my ankle stitches came out at 14 days
friend who just had a hysterectomy had hers out at 6 days
my stitches will come out bet 4-8 weeks but by themselves
plus, most of teh time when we take out abd stitches, we steri-strip to relieve some tension while the steri-strips last - usually another 3 days or so
Called ambulance, and they came and the paramedic said it was way too early, and she sewed me up. She went berzerk ! She wrote a letter to the docs for my Hubby to take across (we lived almost 2 minutes away from the doctors surgery) They never sent the same midwife out on any of the days.

I'm surprised they restitched aussie - sometimes they'll make it heal up on its own after that (healing by secondary intention) - high infection risk when closing a wound open for that length of time

I'm an ER nurse, and I'm not a fan of staples, especially for abdominal surgery. It just doesn't approximate as well. I think they're great for scalp lacs, but not for soft tissue.

My personal rule of thumb is staples are of over boney prominences, but stictches are the way to go for face and soft tissue.
I wasnt expecting them to sew me back up, I was expecting them to steri strip me too, but they just did it. I had another midwife come the sme day (wednesday), and she said they could come out on the saturday if it looked ok. I had them out on the satudray then.

She slept with the other geese at night. What happened one night. "Charlie" was sitting on an egg (just the one), as she and the Gander "Chirpy" who I helped to rear had mated.
One night, the fox got into "Charlie's" pen, and killed her, smashing her egg.
My MIL was devastated.
She is doing well Scrabbs. No post-op infections or anything, they are pleased with her progress. Fingers crossed, everything is going fine.

The marshlands were an incredible maze, like the corn mazes in the fall. It was creepy and we heard critters (maybe muskrats) behind the reeds. Once we came around a curve and there was a great blue heron. We watched it for quite a while and it caught + ate a fish!

as i have no external incission i can manage laughing lightly but not tried sneezing or coughing, find it hard to blow my nose though!!

with internal surgery they go through less muscle so although still painful not as bad as with external incissions -they tell me!!
but then easier to do damage as it doesn't hurt!!
