Just a quick note to you folks here, to let you know that I've officially sent a note home to parents requesting their children not log on to this game in the future and letting parents know about student behaviour last night. Hopefully things will sink in and you will have no further trouble from this end.

I'm off to a course now. Let me know if anything happens in the future. ABS out.
thanks, Miss ABS -- they were claiming it was a homework assignment -- not true?
Hey Miss ABS - kids will be kids and you gave it your best shot

ri7 if not called
she also seemed to take it quite seriously didn't she ata
ne7 x 2
I emailed Miss Abs too last night, as did sprite and mrp, ata
i think i got through to united at one stage and he/she understood and tried to tell the others but that didnt work
just glad there is peace and tranquility and harmony again lol
ditto kiwi
yes, but she should have known better after doing it the year before too!
Ata it wasn't the same teacher.
mossABS has done it twice
miss!
I hope it lasts. What I don't understand is why it happened again after the experience the last time, also involving Miss Abs, who was also apologetic. The kids then were very much ruder and a lot of trouble was caused with the school and parents
a truly stupid move on the part of a teacher
OH right sorry. Wrong teacher
but yeah, another teacher did it too
hey herin
xanika?
ei 7
Ok. I wish to lodge a formal apology that had to read my gutter mouth rant last night.
ah, yes -- I remember xanika
i miss xan
Yes Ata and she was in a lot of trouble about that
forgiven, herin. it was frustrating.

its just so annoying. I would have *loved* to have this site as a kid / teenager
nm, herin!
That and b.f is going away for 2 weeks on saturday and my Yoga class last night was crap due to the fish wife working (she likes to have the radio on way too loud, even though everyone complains about it) Any way that is a lame excuse so sorry
If I had to write down every mistake I have made, there would be no more forests
it was a shocker herin, hope you washed your mouth out with soap if so you are forgiven

sorry jilli, was updating my info in profile.
saw the surgeon and microbiologist specialists today... ah, need to add some stuff to the info in profile... brb
thanks for doing that, mrp -- it sounds promising...
yay for having a new plan in place, mrp!
...waiting for the latest update...
Night Jill.
ok, updated
i do have a plan in place!! that is GREAT news! My dad came with me and made sure it was all clear as crystal and that plans were now implimented till the end of time LOL!
woot! and yay for portacaths
just make sure they flush it properly!
better than another picc line ata... they are just awful for me
MR Pres no going through metal detectors with all that lot fitted after wood
she will ata, i've seen her in the hospital with a new nurse watching her flush properly
i actually wondered why they havent used a potacath before mrp, will hear all the news at lunch tomorrow
i flush the darn thing myself!
Quite an ordeal, mrp, but in the long run it won't seem like such a huge chunk of time and will be worth it. Meanwhile you'll have lots of support and (((hugs)))
Mr PRes i would look after you if i was in your neighbour hood
well, I guess they didn't think I would need it again and again and again and again!! LOL, but now they are taking to the idea I may actually need to have stuff longer
talking of huge chunk.... it will not be a lot of bone from the hip... they will do as little out of the hip as possible.
is it 8 years this has been going on mrp?
thanks jilli! love the babble support! very important to me!
whew up for air with 60 to go
((HUGS)) Mrp
hey mrp - great news - lots of cyber care from us!
yes andree... that is why dad came along today... he wanted to let the doctors know enough was enough, but he understands the complications now so he is going to be alot better with me
lurking for the minute i have to look up stuff for b.fs cruise. He is way to busy at work to do it there (that and he has hit the wall and had a mental)
thanks meliae and dipp :)
trying to decide if I should finish tonight or wait
down to 5 RE words what a pain those are
dad and the whole family has had enough... it is amazing how family tire of the same old problems and it becomes blah to them. With dad coming along today, he got to see first hand how much goes into planning my surgery and support
re words hurt too much
he has turned his tune now and is planning how he can be more supportive. I should have got the whole bloody family to come along! LOL!!
that is good pres
it has been a long road for you and your family I imagine it has taken its toil on all of you by leaps and bounds
Good morning/afternoon/evening all! (Please tick appropriate box)..... :)
sometimes it is time to say......come walk a bit in my shoes and see just what this all entails lol
evening here lorrie! good day/night to you too!
I shouldn't mention this when you're just going to get a p/cath, mrp, but this is unusual and rare - my best friend who has had all sorts of problems with her p/cath is now having heart attack esque chest pains, apparently because of something to do with the p/cath. great
yes meliae, taking a look at what I face has him looking at the picture in a thousand different ways
ata, it is good to hear about any and all issues with portacaths... thanks! I will enquire about it with the cancer clinic for sure! I trust the lady who does the insertion with my life, so she will assist me with learning about complications! I feel for your best friend!
if we find out what exactly is going wrong, I'll tell you. Oh yes, its best to know all these things!
I just did some googling about portacaths etc -- lots of info
I lost feeling to my upper left hand... thumb through to index finger, just the upper section, cause of a botched blood taking in my wrist... stuff goes wrong all the time with nurses etc...
oh send me a good link please jilli! I get overwhelmed with all the info on there.
mrp, the Wikipedia info was good and had comparison links with PICC and central lines
it might be sitting over a nerve or at worst leaning on a major artery... poor girl
cool, will go look at it jilli! thanks!
she's going to have the portacath removed, she's been waiting for a bed for a few weeks now. its caused all sorts of issues in her arm and chest. the entry wound never healed and her fingers are going nicely gangrenous. But thats just her, she has *no* immune system etc etc etc etc etc
if it touches the endocardium there can be heart symptoms -- I gather experts can avoid such things
so its coming out and they are going to scrape all the gloop out of the wound and sew her back up and hope
so good that i can talk on the phone to ians mum and know that she still wants to talk to me =- just spent last 20 min chattin glol
mrp -- I'm no medical expert -- it just made sense to me!
Kiwi, that must be comforting
I must go to bed -- babble well, gang! *poof*
ian rang the kids earlier today to let them know it was his last nite on the island (cant believe its been three months gone already) and we actually had a civil conversation - no yelling no arguing just calm straigh talking
nite jilli sweetest dreams
bye jilli
nini Jilli
bye jilli!
btw has anyone finished yet? ive lost the chat plot lol
good going kiwi!
ata, that will be the best! I was warned today that a portacath is only good if the person is not chronically ill with low grade infection etc.... I just laughed!
told him hes got some hard thinking to do and decisions to make when he gets home but that the door was still open if he wanted to try to work things out at any stage (dont yell at me for saying that lol - i know hes gone and i gotta get on with life but its what i feel)
haven't even started, but the 11 is a doozy!! worked it out from the clues
i have the two 10's if you need help with them too
does anyone have the ni 7?
kiwi, door is always open when the heart is open... no yelling for feelings
wait a while longer, after 5 years my exhusband emails me, talks to me etc, its weird especially as he did not speak a word to me for 6 months after i left him, now its as if he knows i am someone who really does understand hom
not yet sorry vash
i like that saying mrp i think thats exactly how i feel
him too
looks like miss abs had a chat with the the kids... they haven't been on today??
nope!
Their homework project was for two nights only.
she came in earlier mrp to say that she had sent formal letters home to parents telling them kids not to come visit an apologised
you are lucky then andree... my dad suffered for his divorce... my mum has never spoken to him since he left
oh that is good kiwi.
same with my parent mrp and it sucked when i was a kid
i was thrown in the middle of their divorce... it was so bitter! I know what not to do!!
hi haz and the glittery bouncy thing
me too
evening haz
my mother never spoke to my father again either, maybe i learnt from them, i was married 38 years and we have 3 kids and 7 grandchildren and even though i no longer could bear to live with him i am very aware of not dividing our family
Good morning Atalante and hello all- I'm in silent observation deployment mode. Spangle is on cat guard at the front door. Nothing gets by us.
it is sad stuff that... my mother had little heart, and I found that out through the bust up
oh good for Spangle! do cats regularly get through the front door for her to growl at?
gee andree didnt realise you were that mature lol
so now after 5 years we are almost freinds, he emails me every few days etc, the kids think it is weird
They go past the front door. The cheek!
andree is mature, but young at heart!! lovely andree
no! how dare they!
if i can manage to keep a civil relationship with ian at least i will be thankful for that
hi haz happy babbling
hi haz
They're bold hussies, Atalante.
do they taunt spangle through the windows?
Hello there - back to silence....
ok, better start the game
and i am so going to be sorry that I am back to one finger typing!! will miss you all too
You're not making silence easy, Atalante! They stare and taunt.
try kiwi, it is so much better for the kids, i even had my ex and his partner for christmas dinner and i make sure the kids invite them to all important occasions
staring *and* taunting? thats outrageous
well i certainly am not having "her" anywhere my kids for anytime now or in the future thats for sure
ugh i have gone through a 200+ box of tissues in the last 24 hours and now on the super soft bog paper cause i run out of tissues ugh lol
it is still new and raw and hurtful kiwi, time is the key
mu 6/7 combo
ok, I'd better take out the hound. she's pestering. back in a bit!

A virtuous woman to be sure.

Hair shirts are SO last year.
or a canon
pe 7 - sounds like the shampoo that doesnt happen over night but will happen - ozzies should know that lol
what is a hair shirt haz?
A shirt made from hair? Spin hair into thread, make into cloth, sew it together. Scratching results.
Looks like this will be a fun grid. ***averts eyes from little yellow tiles***
made from horsehair i think , very uncomfortable
Shorn hair from Jews in Auschwitz was also made into hair cloth. An uncomfortable fact I discovered.
In fact, not just Jews, prisoners generally.
in the movie amazing grace a hair shirt is worn not only uncomfortable but also ugly
can u give me a clue of the 11 letter word
if anyone saw that movie it was wonderful
hello everyone.... I just had to tell you **** I found my first 10 all by myself **** !!!!

I was familiar with all of the words except maybe 90%
Yah Meliae
believe it or not the RE words had the most common ones, lol
ignoring Re words
at 5.52 letters per word, I believe this grid is the longest average length of any one since I started

the endings really helped once you got the root words

Hi Heirn and everyone else. Must dash now unfortunately. Hopefully work will be nice...
Hey
Hey blue
hi Herin, hi & bye Red
Trying to focus but failing miserably
Hello again all - have half an hour will try get more then list for me
HI Ursh
Hi ursh - how's durbs?
Hi Lorrie - such beautiful weather - love winter in Durbs - still wearing summer clothes but cooler nights
Lucky you Lorrie - recent visit to Kruger - we going to Mocambique next month for two weeks - so looking forward
Yes, we went a few weeks back - had a great time! As per usual! :)... Min you, Mocambique sounds pretty good to me!
Love Mbq - white sand - blue blue sea - palm trees - lovely people - poor but happy
well that stopped the chat :P
morning atalante!
morning! silverclaw is here trying to help me
Good evening
hiii
hi miss abs :)
hi miss, mr p, ursh and lorrie
Ata I just wanted to pop on and make sure things were kosher tonight after yesterday. And to say I was sorry for the behaviour and hostile take over of my children. Mr. P I just emailed you btw.
Hello Pin :)
everything was normal this morning!
How are you Mr. P.? Long time no see!
Ah good to hear, they had a note sent home and a talk from the principal at my request as well. That type of behaviour online isn't gonna work for me.
things have been fine ! the kids were quite good, but unfortunately they didn't follow net safety rules very well am doing ok thanks!
Is it getting cold in your neck of the woods now?
i heard you wrote to the parents! how did that go down?
at the end of the day, they may bug people in the chat for a few days, but giving out their names and msn names is much more serious. hopefully they'll learn that at least!
Not sure, I'll get the brunt tomorrow. Many of them don't want to hear that their kids have been doing anything they're not supposed to.
it is getting very cool! summer clothing definitely put away!
Yeah that's my biggest worry as well, and I drum net safety into them every time we ever log on in class. They just don't think.
Yeah for me as well. I've moved to a hills area and it's quite chilly.
of coruse not, they're kids. all you can do is keep banging the info into them!
and you are very much south from me! it must be nice in the hills though :)
Yeah, I just wanted the babble community to know that I hadn't turned them loose intentionally. In fact they didn't see the website addy from me. So it is highly frustrating
It is lovely in the hills actually, nice having an open fire on the weekends with a glass of red *winks*
phantom tiptoe
oh good on you! i am indulging in some white wine and pasta at the moment! too comfortable to pass it up :)
well, at least you know they get an A* for ingenuity!
LOL I hadn't noticed that pin till you said it!
Yum! I just got back from an IT seminar so I've not had my tea yet.
that's not fair. that sounds so lovely - both of you - but its only 11:22am here. A long day to go before relaxing
Thanks for the understanding Ata. It's much appreciated.
Almost 8PM on this side of the world, and I still have nasty books to mark and two lessons to plan! Can't wait for tomorrow to be over.
ah, the weekend! it will come before you know it!
it better not! I have a magazine cover to create by then!
Yeah it's been a really long week this week.
Deadlines are the bane of our existences huh?
I have to work tomorrow cause all the mums at school have sick little ones! I get to do the canteen on my own!! on a friday *gulp*
eeep!
Oh dear! Watch out for the stampede Mr. P! I recommend hiding under the table with a cricket bat to fend 'em off and all the goodies as a chair!
but, I am catching up with Andree (from babble) for lunch! so will only do 3 hours... won't be there for the stampede!! hehehe
very clever!
Right, I better be off and really hit the books for a while. Just wanted to make sure all was well in babble land. May be back later to work on the grid a bit.
convincing huh?? now I just have to convince other people to come in and work in canteen for the lunch time!
G'd morning again Babblers!
Take care all, and have a nice day or relaxing evening (depending on the hemisphere)
see ya abs! good to chat with you again! take care
Hello and Goodbye Lori

G'd morning Boo. Hey! Noone said I had to define it. I just matched the prefix with that word, whatever it means.....
is the grid easy or hard
lol :D
good morning boobear
you did it the opposite way round to me. someone gave the word definition and I found it from that

to bury mm, and g'd morning
in5/10 for the prefix mm
we had some excitement last night. I had just gotten off work and we were leaving the office, 40 miles from home. We were going to go out to eat, to celebrate my husband's birthday, and his cell phone rang; it was our home security monitoring company, saying our burglar alarm had gone off, and they were notifying the sheriff's office.
oh yes :D I'm just finishing a magazine cover by saturday right now!
ty lori
oh good lord Angel!
not that I want to bury you. Let me rephrase that. G'd morning MM! the in word that means bury
wow Angel
and wtg Ata :D You are gonna be famous, hun :)
That's not good Angel.
woot, thanks for the 11
so, we quick came home, and I told my husband to get our next door neighbor to walk through the house with him. We didn't know if there was someone hiding in the house with a gun or not.
Hiya everyone, by the way!!!!!!!!!
october - I'll have art published :D
hi movie my man
Wow Ata, good for you! Will this involve an excess of smug? :D
in11 = trainee doctors + dads brother ***le + R** de Janeiro
wonderful, Ata. I am so happy for you!~
Luckily, everything was fine. false alarm, or one of the cats had done something to set it off. We're calling today to have the system checked out.
total smugness!
kinda scary, Angel
bbl
Excelelnt. I'd expect no less!
Ks KO-ed.
thank goodness Angel! it must have scaredy you half to death tho
Yea sprite! ***There's a k in this grid?***
it took a long time for the adrenalin to settle...
was, Lori, was. It is dead now.
Cats are famous for setting off home security systems. A lot. To the point of desensitization of an alarm.
Good job sprite. I'm in k denial for now. :)
Glad everything turned out okay Angel.
I learned to face my Ks. Now, I get them out of the way before I start babbling :D
LOL sprite ***I'm a denial kinda' gal***
I am learning to be, LOL.
Hi kids!
hiya Scrabbler!
good lord, every time I enter a word, it comes from a letter somewhere else. This greying out bottom tiles, just ain't happenin'......
G'd morning Scrabbler
hey scrabbler
lol yeah tyhe bottom row is hard work
Hi
hi lady
Sprite--a couple of weeks ago I e-mailed you on facebook. I met a DUtchman, but he didn't know anyone named Sprite.
Hi lady
How goes it
I am waking up and sipping hot coffee.
ginnet is to a word. Or it should be.
lol Scrabbler! Sorry, I am BAD at facebook, never go there. Will try and look it up. Was he ni4?
Hi Scrabbler
I am winding down and drinking chamomile tea, slept like a baby last night drinking it
He was very ni4! He is doing his pediatrics residency at our children's hospital.
wtg lady. I am waiting for my hubby, who will bring me shoarma! I told him I deserved a reward for sorting out both kids and finances this morning :D
that is great, Scrabbler! Promise to look up your email on facebook!
Sprite, when I met him I asked him if he was from Australia or the UK as I was trying to determine his accent. He was taking (very good) care of a sick teenager.
What is a "shoarma"?
Trying to get Groovys kid onto it to but apparently he was being atypical teen and go eww gross.
hehehe, yay for the dutch speaking their languages!
clue for ce 6/21 please
***makes a note to purple crayon the bottom corner g***
Lori, there is a bird called a gannet, I believe.
don't you have shoarma in the states? Of course you have. Lams meat, finely chopped and roasted, with garlic sauce, in a pita bread?
Boo, the only ce 6 I have is the middle or core
***passing LoriP the purple crayon***

loads of shatta on it... shatta is the BEST
Afternoon everyone
hm, kebab is something different, originally. But anyway... I am about to have it :D
There is a couple of brillant places that sell them here.
Gotta' zip off to the store, coffe's gone, and that's a bad thing. Back in a few

he will be ok, in time. Time is of the essence now. At least he is finally taking it seriously. Thanks all, for caring :D
What is it for Carlee? Sorry to seem dense but i don't know much about guides

It is through adversity and challenge that we grow and strengthen.
Good god! Nono's a nekkid Babbler?

it might be ok nono, they will think you are a patient! LOL
The 9s are done, TY.
I don't like liver Lori : )
Yea Scrabbler!
Are the 10's extensions of the 9's?
Nono depends on the Nursing home and wether that would please the older gents (it would if it was b.fs granda hes a dirty old man)

Thats a confidence booster i think
maybe these are the good years, 20 yaers from now when fabulously wealthy and famous you look back fondly at when the kids where at home and the family hung together the mose.
the dad of my neighbour always kisses my hand very intensely, lol.
Later Nono. I won't make any nekkid jokes while 'yer gone. :)

Hi Merk
um, I told them not to tell, Lori!! I did dust and vacuum the bedrom but that is all I did. the rest of the apt is still a mess :-)
peri, do you have the re9/72 getting together again?
I've been lurking, but babysitting as I am, I don't think I will finish. 94 to go and a 16 month old
Merk, you were in the grid, yesterday, I think
not a perfect combination, Merk, but fun ;)
multitasking, merk! LOL
I do now, Une, thanks
And not real accustomed to it.
Peri don't go to hard on that housework. It really hard
Oh peri. You were my only hope. I can't shoulder this responsibility alone. :)

Okay, everybody falls off the wagon once in awhile peri.
and once is a phantom, for once
thanks Une, have all the 9's now, bbl to finish
bye peri
later, peri
Time to get ready for morning hospital rounds. Going to see a newborn named Declan, new brother to Seamus. Yes, quite an Irish family.

A pooter is a device scientists use to pick up small objects, like insects, without hurting them

TY sprite
bye sprite! Hae a good one!
my limit is 300 - never doing more than 300 ever ever again!!!
Have
200 for me - really 180, but y'know, give or take
expecting contractors here today, and busy getting stuff done - we head to FL for the weekend tomorrow, so I need to do a few things
Hey Green
yuck - packing - and double yuck - contractors
hi herin
herin, lol, I think you were in my dream last night!
do tell asg!
My friends little one has a matrix name but i think they chose it for the meaning
What did i kill now?
I think when I met you - at the airport- you told me your screen name was "Sneezy" - as in the 7 little dwarfs! and, I was all, "no way, I know you are herin - or FINE Infernal Lady" and we bickered over your name, but I KNEW it was really you
back, but only half dressed... I forgot to throw my jeans in the dryer!
you would know her by that hair!
LOL - I have crazy dreams all the time
:D grin
when choosing names - well, one I found in a book means with stinking hair
afternoon hern
exactly kj! that's why I KNEW she wasn't Sneezy!
Nono don't grab the jeans by the button when you take them out other wise yowies.
He Cool
****thinking I may chat too much if I'm dreaming about y'all*****
watching lots of house the last couple of days really paid off... i dreamed about house and chase last night... mmmmm (and you know, i never was sure which one i liked best, but my subconscious informs me that it is chase)
LOL asg
kj, are you meeting Lex?
lol hurshy
theoretically - we haven't set exact place and time yet
when i woke up i was seriously wishing i could just sleep forever
I have a "thing" about not meeting those I chat with online - no offense ladies (and gents)....
I had a dream that someone kept switching time on me and screwing my reality then i got totally stoned as i was left out of the school formal (which is odd cause i hated school and the formal and now looking back i wish i could slap myself into going)
I do online dating, asg, so I've gotten over that not meeting on line people thing : )
it's weird, when I first found out that Dorens knew me, I thought I'd leave this site entirely - lol - but then the addiction got a hold of me
true, kje, that's true... perhaps if I go to Dallas I'll change my mind! :)
i don't go past 3 degrees of separation these days.
ah, herin, and since you WATCH Peter Walsh, and I'm RELATED to Peter Walsh, we could meet! lol
Think i just found my holiday.
I would like to met you and Peter maybe the nice man could boot my butt again
mornin babblers!
my hubby's company got great press in Australia yesterday, btw. PW is trying to convince us to relocate

that go7 makes me happy - such a funny sound
there are plenty of good words not allowed
G'd morning to anyone I missed.
having the most prettiest purriest kitty on your lap is very pleasant, but also distracting from the word finding process. course i'm all disorganized today anyway...
Had to come up forair. That gerund thing-y gives good mileage today.
Hurshy thats cute
why yes, she is :) lol
i don't know whether my landlady is sadder to see ME go, or mitten
Hurshy, you're moving?
yep, tomorrow.
ok, I'm back
Green what company is the hubby mentioned?
Hurshy best wishes
close by or a long move?
ok, so, PW is my brother in law (sort of) and he's one of "Oprah's friends" - her organizing guru, from the tv show Clean Sweep
Liquidnet is my husband's company
hour and a half drive, not real long, but not the kind where you just casually pop stuff over gradually either
ah, so you're changing jobs?
kj, still w/me here?
I'm here - don't know PW - but don't have cable so...
yes
people are ALWAYS saying you can't unri4 a bell, you'd think it would be a word by now

it's more like, when i left, i was in a very bad state, and i just COULDN'T stay. and now, i can, and so, i should.

absence makes the heart grow fonder?

Rats, I thought I had "internecine"
goose alert
sunscreen? I don't think we'll be outside at all! we're heading down for a 95th bday party

95 is the new 60 : )
my hubby's g'ma - pretty cool... And I'm sure we'll be in air conditioning the entire time :(... I hope to get a FEW minutes by the pool!

I have tossed 25 massive garbage bags out of crap on my move thanks to him
i suddenly feel very stressed
Why Hurshy?
ah but herin, wasn't that a great feeling to be rid of so much clutter
well for one i have to call up someone and say i'm not coming to interview cause i'm taking another job
that's cool Sneezy, but don't give him all the credit - you were the one who did it! :)
It was. Still have so much to do.
well that would be hard Hurshy
and for another, you know when you have so many things to do and you don't know what to do first so you feel paralyzed?
just come in and got confused. Has the job been confirmed? How did you end up with two offers?
Help me ! Write some words down!
Help me ! Write some words down!
Yes Hurshy. I list every thing when that happens
kind of a fun grid.
hurshy - what you describe is a feeling known to me well, I find cleaning and avoiding anything I actually need to do helps ;-) Only time I clean!!!!!
morning everyone - I think my cat deleted my babble program - does anyone have a copy they can send me
TY for the 11 - ouch
Write some words down you have?
ask lickety - he will resend
Good day, fellow Babble addicts.

She may be telling you something there saphyre
that the laptop is a nice warm place to sleep is what she is telling me :)
ok herin, I sent the FB message...
Lol, saphyre. Our cats love my hubby's laptop. They don't even mind when they sit on a key that makes noise (boing, boing, boing...)
nice grid, today. not too big; still a solid challenge. I have the 9's, 10's and the 11.
there, it's official. i feel better.
Aussie do you have yahoo or msn?
Well done Hursh
Somebody?
Somebody?

Hi, Eva. I think that's called Mars vs. Venus.
I have a puppy on my lap at the moment and a cat trying to takeover the keyboard
I will be back later on after work. I finish at 11pm my time.... Love and Hugs Babble family xx
**poof**
bye Aussie
Bye, Aussie!
we are headed to Boston this weekend for our friends wedding + we are disagreeing every step of the way about everything... keeping in mind, he doesnt travel much + i basically grew up in the airports....
Aussie i have sent you a message
Still sucks Saphyre
Uh oh. Separate IPods for you two Eva.
yeah it does but things have a way of working out
Welcome to Boston, EvaNadine
i saw something on CBS news monday night that said that there was a trucker protest in london over gasoline prices....was it as big as they reported?
Where's the wedding
Hi all...
he wants to just leave the car at the airport over the weekend, but his parents only live 20 minutes from the airport + have offered to drive us there + pick us up, so id much prefer not leaving the car there, since itll be MY car being left there....
hi KrisE
also, he just wants to check our bags + i know it can be a nightmare dealing with checked luggage...plus, we are only gonna be there for 2 nights, so how much stuff do we really need? i refuse to check my bags for a weekend!
not to mentiont hat is is expensive to park at most airports - we paid $29 a night last week
kris -- the wedding is in the holiday inn at beacon hill
Well, that's just silly, Eva. Why pay for airport parking if you don't have to. Unless you'll be coming back on the redeye, take advantage of the limo offer from the in-laws.
he is just very set in his ways and once he has an idea, any other idea is stupid and wrong.
I used to live on Beacon Hill -- used to swim in the pool at that HolidayInn
flying from dca or bwi?
Dear Gawd. Avoid backage check-in whenever possible. That's my motto. American Airlines just started charging $15.00 for checked baggage. Talk about a rip off. It's only a matter of time before the other airlines follow suit, though.
You shouldn't have to have a car in Boston
flying from BWI
B.f is going OS for 2 weeks on saturday we are lucky and have public transport from our door to the airport
Can i have some help for the 9-letters, 10-letters and 11.letter word?
US Air is 1 bag free - every extra bag $25
Personally, I think the airlines are shooting themselves in the foot by adding more fees. I guess they feel they have to do it to make ends meet.
i grew up traveling + living in + out of airports....he has hardly traveled at all. im like "listen to me, and trust me. i know what im talking about" we are flying southwest + they allow each person 2 carry-ons, so thats what we are going to do. whether he likes it or not! :P
a purse or laptop is considered a carry-on now
clue for in 11 please
I need some help to some of the long words
Eva, does Southwest let you do advanced check-in online?
i will have all my clothes + that stuff in my suitcase + my book, purse + ipod (and whatever else) shoved inside the bag i use for work.
i have officially been offered the job, phew.
judi, i dunno...havent looked into that
congrats hurshy!
end of saga. now just five zillion things to do today.
usair does - not sure about the others
We have a 25 kilo one bag limit
hurshy, make a to-do list...that is what saves my sanity
Yah HURSHy
I now US Airways, Delta and other do offer it. You can check-in online 24 hours in advance and print out your own boarding pass. You just have to show the boarding pass and your ID at security.
hi Annie
and congrats on the job offer, hurshy
yes, i like to do lists
hi saph!
congrats Hurshy
I put a to do list on the back of my hand or one on the fridge
thank you all, for, you know, everything all the time support and encouragement etc etc etc
looks like they do!
It's a HUGE time saver, Eva. As for baggage check, let hubby do it at the curb and tell him you'll meet him at the boarding gate!
lol
hubby? oh my! we are still at the BF stage here...heh
Sorry - BF.
gotta learn these things about him, like whether or not id kill him in the airport on our honeymoon. ;)
Eva thats true. I have to let mine go by himself on saturday :(
Oh jeesh, Eva. If you're going to have to kill him, do it at home or after the wedding. Don't lock down the airport for the rest of us poor souls.
Oh Hurshy, I just walked by the computer screen and saw your good news...Heartfelt congratulations!
guys, i need some words
oh boy
me too alex. got a clue for the 10 or 11? un 11 I think
ok judi, deal. if hes driving me bonkers, ill just get in the car, drive him home + off him there. ;)
HI Marmar
Hi everyone!
my best is a 7-letters :/
Hi Lady
in11/104 starts with someone who is not quite a doctor yet
seems like lots of wonderful things happening to Babblers lately.
It's either that or lots of alcohol and xanax before the flight - so he'll sleep and not drive you bonkers.
who is not a docto yet
eh, driving me nuts is what he does best. its just a matter of if i can let it roll of my back that day. i tell ya, i love this guy, but being with him has really made me learn whats important enough to pick a fight over. ;)
lol, great word. Thanks
i dont know what a not yet doctor is called..
gimme a hint
choosing your battles - important lesson
its a new doc, plus a woman taking religious vows and the last three letters give it a latin/italian sound
Eva mine is so laid back he'd fall over
hello babbleland!!
hi pink
hi pink!
Hey Pinkie
Morning, one and all!
hi bzznbea
and hi bzz
Hi Bzzz
I'm stuck..
HOw's the grid today?
Will the winner, win anything?
Bea - challenging, with a hint of troll.
There is no winner Alexand94 - why don't you read how to play
I did yesterday's grid asking for only one clue. Was so proud of myself.
ok, meeting time for me. ill just assert my authority this evening + tomorrow at the airport. im the one who knows this stuff, so i win! hehe
bye Eva :)
Trolls can't read.
good point bzz
When he sees the lines for check-in Eva, I predict he'll follow you like a lost lamb.
Oy vey.
That's different..
Someone sat on the return button.
Chat hiccups yet once again.
Reese you alive you seem to have waffle headed the keyboard
m stuck, gimme a hint please
oh geez
sorry
Definitely stuck...
wt happened to me?
:)
LOL Reese, methinks it was chat, and not you
Ok kids im going to bed can't deal with kinderbrats again
You pressed enter a bunch of times?
hi all. i saw a hint earlier for the 11 but didn't get it. i have the "almost a doctor" part, but didn't get the rest of it...
sleep well herin
And Reese that wasn't meant at you
I need a hint for the allmost a docter thing.. I have no idea what it is
At least we are avoiding another horror scene..
thank u
in + blah blah blah + Un**e, not aunt + 4th vowel
Lady, have a good night! See ya later.
fireworks for me...
Which i have apoligised for Uni
Oops, bad clue ignore that
congrats Angel
yah angel and im outa here
almost Dr + **cle not aunt + ***o, spanish see ya'!
Congrats Angel!
I'm off to the library before I 'overspeak'. Take care all.
Nothing could overspeak compared to yesterday.
what happened yesterday?
Bernice, did you make any sense of my mangling that clue?
What is a almst doctor?
yes, thanks lori, just got it. i think you meant italian "see ya" **a*
oh...I finally got it Lori, Thanks.
ack, Bernice, YOU'RE a genius! Again, my apologies.
oh god, help me?
One would think I'd check the post first. But...no. Sorry all.
not quite a genius. i couldn't have gotten it without some direction, so thanks
We all do it Lori...no worries.
Alexand94 - why don't you spend some time looking at the grid and trying to get some easier words and then ask for help later
Help me, i only have14 words
Alexand94 - if you find this game too difficult, maybe you shouldn't be playing it.
yes, i need to learn some words
what in the world is the first in word? I need in 5/12 please
***sits at the back of the room blushing over clue fiasco***
Alex, how old are you? How's your spelling generally? How's your concentration?
lori, i don't think you can call it a clue fiasco since lot of us got the word from your clue!
in 5, someone who isn't very skilled or capable
here here Bernice.
i didn't
inge in5 perhaps clumsy
i did
inge not working from a list so no idea
thanks Lori
hi rur
marmar, 13, im better than the most inb my classs
ruru
hi
Time for a coffee refill. BBL, all. Please don't feed the trolls.
almost Dr + l***h time + The L**n King
need help with ni 7/28 please. I am on a cleanup run as you can probably tell
Are there any suffixes to look out for today? Yesterday there was plural, pt and comparative.
but what is almost dctr
Alexand94 there are alot more than 14 easy words in the grid - just keep looking
***desperately trying to save face, lol***
there are many gerunds today
bzz, there's the comparative adjective and the gerund ending
i want a better one
G'd morning B, yep, the usual gerund, and the **e cream letters get some mileage as well

ok time to report the troll
coming back later as well
Great Alex, just concentrate on the grid awhile and relax. I try to start with one of the letters on the grid, say top right hand corner, and try to "see" possiblities. The chat shouldn't really play a role at first while you're getting used to it... oh Alex, now I'm going to quit wasting minutes of my life on your problem.
im a human
ahhh, relax, it's just a kid
G'd morning B, yep, the usual gerund, and the **e cream letters get some mileage as well
i think alex is a repeat of yesterday from MissABS class
Thanks for the suffix info, all.
emailed Dr God
MissABS's class
thanks, saphyre...you beat me to it
G'd morning Annie, didn't see ya' there
hi lori, was lurking...trying to have patience
lol, patience, what's that? Was a fun grid, but some unusual ones as well.
ok I broke my coffepot last nite while washing it - trolls and no coffee don't mix
YAY for lori!!!! w00t w00t
oh saphyre. :( Coffee is essential
saph, can't do without a coffeepot, no way
lol, thanks Annie, really, really enjoyed this one.
Saphyre, that makes me think of my Polish friends here, they drink what they call "Polish Coffee", put the coffee grounds in a cup, pour hot water over them, stir, wait and drink! Don't see how they stand it!
i need to improvise- a really big cup where the pot should go?
I would have had to run to Wal-Mart, no matter how late it was!
Unfortunately the only place that sells this particular replacement is 45 minutes from here
bzz, that is what i did about a month ago when I broke the carafe on my MrCoffee
I always have an extra one around.
I buy the $10 coffee makers, and when a pot breaks, I just go buy a new coffee maker. It's cheaper than a pot
hey y'all - hugggggggsssssssssss
Hey, Nance!
Mine has all the bells and whistles - but without the carafe what good is it lol
hi nance
you all blast the kid for asking for help and then sit here talking about coffee pots!!!! who's the troll
lori, I love your words of wisdom in your icon, esp. the Carlin one
we didn't blast anyone for asking for help
scroll down
but being rude and scrolling the chat is not appreciated
you were mean
bizzoca - if someone refuses to even look at the grid to find words then they do not belong here
y'all fighting?
we were not mean to him....he or she was told to look for easy words over and over and then ask for help. he or she refused to do that
ok, but being mean is just ugly. it was obvious from the screen name that it was a kid
G'd morning nance. Annie, I love George Carlin
hey
At 13 the "kid" should have some idea of simple four letter words
clue for in11/10 please
you are so judgemental, wow
no just don't like lazy kids
whatever, sorry to interupt... sweetheart get a good braun coffee pot they have unbreakables
in 11, first 6 letters an "almost Dr" + + l***h time + the L**n King
and yes i dropped an r
yay me - i got an 8 letter all by my lonesome - lol
cool nance
YEA! NANCE!
hello
hi jane
Hey, Harp.
hey harp
Afternoon, folks. I have a few minutes. How many words today?
hey monkey
213
hi MG
213
213
ty for the 11, lori :o)
Thanks! Not a chance, then. But we'll see how far I get.
ty lori
another clue for "almost Dr"?
a dr has to do an in****ship
mark, like an apprentice
ty
I need to unwind for a few. I'm feeling weird: this was the last day of lessons. Next week I need to go for my final, an "appointment" at which I play the helping social worker an dthe teacher plays the help seeking client, the week after that I need to go to my workplace to go over the portfolio with th eteacher and my boss, and in between there's a presentation I need to goive at work, but this was the last time we'll be together as a group. The degree has been sold to another school and we are all going to different camuses for teh alst half year next year. We went to a nice pub (been a pub since 1645) to see each other off.
the re9 plz
phew monkey - you need to rest your fingers - lol
wow MG
hi mvieman
All the best to you MG
Sorry...
Monkey, it sounds like you are in the home stretch.
hi saphyre
way to go monkey
Yes, just half a year to go.
good luck to you, MG
Oof.
Then I'll have a Bachelor's in Social Service Delivery or whatever it translates to -- I'm doing this all in Dutch.
Thanks for the support, folks.
hey movie
monkey, i think that would be an MSW, here, master of social work
you are very welcome
Too many Dutch words in the grid again today. Taht always throws me off on school days.
I have great admiration for you, MonkeyGames. Aren't you doing all of this with a young child?
yeah I found the re 10
the re9 plz
Well, it's a Bachelor's... soBAchelor's in Social Work?
yes, there is a BSW
And no, BEa, he goes to daycare instead. Ha, ha, Yes, I have a three-year-old.
well oi
i've interpreted a bunch of social work programs (i'm a sign language interpreter) and i have deep respect for what they do
share the clue for the 10, ruru?
well i've been a social worker for25 years and it has it's moments! not a bad profession
I know how hard that is as I got my BSE with two little girls. (and there big baby dad)
re10 what cashiers at Walmart do all day handing to customers
I've been really enjoying the courses, although I definitely bit off too much... but I have survived so far...
one social work professor said that social workers are the bridge between what this society claims to believe in and what they actually support, because we claim to want to help people and lift them out of poverty, etc. but we pay social workers so little
thanks, ruru
and over work them with giant case loads bernice
i'll never forget taking discreet mathematics - i cried at the kitchen table - got a B but it made me cry - lol
hey ruru
Ha, that's good! Yes, I've been doing an unpaid internship for the two years and I see what the pay scales are like for others... But here it does vary a lot...
or is it discrete?
lol
it varies here too--depends if you work for the city, or private therapy, or what
The problem is both are words, Nance. I never can remember which is which.
hi all :) Back for the rest
Yes, like that, Bernice.
hey sprite
i think it's discrete
hi sprite
unless you were trying to keep it a secret :o)
hi sprite
The good news is I managed to balance everything just right so that I do get to take Walter to see his great-grandfather in a couple of weeks.
thanks - lol all i know is it made me cry
Hi Sprite!
lol
wonderful
ni4 to see you all :D
lol
the 2nd ce6/21 plz
Not necessarily looking forward to two 14-hour flights with a three-year-old... but so it goes, eh? Definitely worth it. I miss my grandafather; he and my grandmother brought me up. It'll be good to see him. He's 91.
Thanks for that re clue, ruru. I was looking for a re word.
you all are so good at remembering what words not to use in chat . . . i drop words all the time
ce + religious act
Me too, Jen. Me too.
thank you sprite
that sounds so lovely, MonkeyG. And you will survive the flights. Bore him to sleep :)
Look at all the Dutch words, Sprite! Munt, gieter, and phantom poging!
ty sprite
Walter does not bore well. Easily, yes, but well, no. Instead I shall entertain him into the ground.
GIve him a Biography of George Bush to read that will put him under
omg, yes MonkeyG, and re4enier, and many more, lol
a little soft shoe . . .
lol
Well, he does know all his letters and has taken an interest in trying to read...
lol ruru :D Or a rubber hammer.
do you get the Highlights magazine? if so, buy a bunch of them & have him search for the hidden pictures
He's got one, actually... Maybe we should bring it. But I think Jen meant a soft-shoe shuffle, a dance style that has nearly died out but that I have been priveleged now and again to see.
it never fails :o)
Nance, good idea, but we don't have that here... I can find him something, though.
and MonkeyG, a walkman with a good headphone (no plugs) with his favo music and some new stuff.
oh, Highlights . . . I used to read that in the dentist's office . . . Goofus and Gallant
He likes stickers, things with things hidden in them, things he can tear up....
later, dear babblers, bye.....have a great trip, MG
bye Annie
You can go online to Highlights and print out the hidden picture pages.
bye annie - tc
He doesn't listen to music much, although he does enjoy trying to play it. With any luck he'll turn out like my grandfather musically: www.samhinton.org
also, if you have the patience, a couple of kid's magazines, some paper and glue. Let him tear out pics and glue them on paper to make a 'painting'
Bye and thanks, AnnieG!
monkeygames, i'm sure you've heard this, but we got a portable dvd player for our toddler. she only gets to watch it on planes.
bubble wrap is great, too, if you can stand the noise
Oooh, thanks, Gail. Will do it!
bye Annie! *hug*
how many letters in the lone i on the top row?
5, harp
Sadly I cannot afford one, TeeJay, but my MP3 player will do films so Ithink I'll load it up with Diego and Blue's Clues.
Fireworks
5 letters for the ic
wait, not sure about that . . .
congrats merk
Yay Merk!
wtg Merk!
WOOHOO! MERK!
I have 8 words.

woot MonkeyG, almost done then!
be back later
And I have a whopping ten more minutes or so to play...
yup that was it, thanks!
i've seen fireworks once with my sad self - lol
have a good trip MG
oh, MonkeyG... and griep-oog!
Thanks! Not leaving for a couple of weeks.
Hey, it's my video of Russian soldier in their break dance contest. You'd better finish so you can see it.
(did you see my tear-and-glue suggestion? Works wonders to keep them occupied for a while)
wow Merk... now I must finish!
Karin at school has griep-oog.
Is the ce7 from the ce6 above it?
pooter sounds to me like it should be a bird or something.
You will, Sprite. Just remember the gerund endings and comparatives.
Didn't catch that; was also chatting briefly with my dad. Tear and glue as in collage-type stuff? Very good suggestion for my monkey! Thanks!
lol - i tried poot but not pooter
add a letter before the last two letters, bzznbea
lol, nance -- i tried those, too
does anyone have a clue for pt?
exactly, that is what I meant, MonkeyG :)
I'll definietly take along supplies for that, Sprite.
Thanks.
MG, if you take headphones and a walkman, you could do books on tape for him.
Hello again - griep oog = flu eye??
a pity you can't add words to enable -- we'd have quite a collection
hey ursh
Yeah, a form of pinkeye that comes from a viral infection like the flu.
Did you get the pt yet Flosey?
flosey: pt + hesitation sound + not out
ursh: exactly :D
Thanks for that clue, Jen.

hint on ce7,32 pleaase
put a cons in the middle of the ce 6/21
14th letter to be exact
EI 7 ANYBODY ????????
ei7 - e plus three letters of anger, then first three letters of the Christmas saint.
i dont under stand that hint for ce6,32
Or, e plus descriptive of Soames Forsyte's first wife.
lil add a cons to the 6/21 after the letter T
theres more than one CE6/21, so be sure youve got the right onw
add vowel, not consonant
i am not getting the EI help
Eva true
Hello! Some long words today, I see. How are you all today?
ce another spelling for the opposite of left
If you can't get the clues, do try www.moreword.com for additional help.
Hi ajv
www.morewords.com that should be. I use it all the time and it's a huge help.
i like www.a2zwordfinder.com
Yes, I've used it as well.
Haz guess what?
hints for the 10s?
i like the a2zwordfinder as well. Glad to hear others use it, couldn't help feeling like it's "cheating" a bit. Glad to hear I'm not the only one using it.
By hints do you mean first two letters or do you want more?
Eva- both add gerund endings to the words above them
It's absolutely not cheating to use resources that are available. It saves asking for clues.
hrm. i guess ill start with first 2 letters/stats but im sure ill want a push in the right direction. ;)
lol
pr and re 10
and the 11 please?
I feel it's cheating, but I'd never be able to finish without it. I'm not competitive about this game so I don't take it all that seriously
Okay, re10 (gerund ending)
in 11 TO
pr10 -gerund ending as well.
got the PR...that was easy enough...
in11 - a papal ambassador (think of the word for 'to bury, and put it in front of the normal word we use for the ambassador - it starts with a convent sister)
Yea Eva
Haz i used the site you put the address in here for adn from the clue i was given i was able to find the EI 7 lol
i sadly have a vast shortage or RE words today... oh well, no worries. :)
Shoot, I used to feel asking for clues in the chog was cheating, but definitely don't anymore - it's fun to help each other out - makes it more of a social game, not so much a solitaire
feeling invisible... will go bac kto lurking
ty haz!
So, the moral of the story is, use online resources, ML!
Eva- when you buy something you get a re***** from the sales person
Haz wasnt aware of that one but ty
thanks DR :) and youre not invisible!
I must be failing in my role as worldwide ambassador for morewords. I try to mention it most days.
YVW Eva
but haz i dont know if i would have gotten it without the clue anyway as i knew what the last 3 letters of the word was and was able to find it among the word choices frome that page
EN 5/10 clue please
I found the word using the first two letters only and then putting dashes for the rest. It can be done.
not exit MLF
haz yeah same here
thats odd i had found that word but never put it in ty
no problem MLF

EN 7/36 clue please

No idea kje
do you have the EN 7/36 kje'?
yes
ne8 ne, add a vowel, then run together a number and the first letters of the Christmas saint
can i have a clue please?
en + to 5
Every time Haz gives a clue, an angel gets it's wings...
TY haz!
LOLOL Uni!
The Christmas saint gets pulled out nearly as often as the Camelot King.
and on that laugh - time to find lunch : )
Hello Uniquity - how are you doing?
clue for pi 6, not what you do to earlobes, Thanks
*Actually laughing out loud at memory of clues for deodar* Doing well, Haz. Going to visit my grandfather tonight for his 87th (?) birthday!
pi6 - the sort of movement that crabs make? Or tank divisions?
thanks < haz, perfect clue
Don't be trying to light candles for every year - the heat will put you out. Happy birthday to grandpa!
Great, glad it worked, inge.
last word I need is ni 7/28, last word in the ni group
How is daughter doing on her travels?
She has arrived safely, thanks, Uniquity. She claimed both flights were horrific, but she's there, that's the main thing.
inge, it's a place where you get food in the evenings. Use two vowels to extend the preceding ni5/10
hi all! how can this be ? i only have 68 left but only have 5 tiles greyed out!!!???!!!
bye everyone, see you later!
Time for me to get tea organised - have a good day, everyone. All the best for the job tomorrow, Uniquity!
Byeee!
Hi Beth, Bye Haz, TO! This grid is a goofball. Tricky.
got it thanks. taht is a word?
good luck, uni! *poof*
bye haz! hi uni!
that gave me fireworks. What a crazy video. Is this a Russian dance group? Where does Merk find them?
woo hoo Inge
off to sudoku. BBL
see you inge!
hello, everyone, I have decided to lurk when I saw the size of the grid and the length of some of the words. Now have 44 left to find.
way to go pab! 62 left here...
woohoo pab - 27 here
Hi pab and all.Im just popping in between childminding You are doing well pab , beth and kje

Hi cait & kje!
I bet you enjoyed that Eva!!
i make a thanksgiving dinner 3-4 times a year, its one of the few that everyone agrees on
enjoying it right now! turkey + cranberry with stuffing + carrots for me...
I have just hurt myself in the garden......walked into a rusty nail and cut the top of my leg a little ouch!!

*readies the troll spray*
Ouwachita extend the ni5/10 above it with 2 different vowels
are the troll sightings more frequent in summer?
most definitely
thanks cait....got it
yw
The warmer weather makes them breed
crap
Sejrup, are you part of the school assignment group?
never get them wet, and NEVER feed them after midnight...
Oh Eva...that was perfect!
LOL Eva
Sut min pik!
kind of like tribbles, also
What is sad is that we welcome genuine new young players ,Is just that some are just here to disrupt
20 left - must get work done - BBL
Bye kje take care
bye kje
exactly, caitlyn
That's the thing, Cait. My younger brothers play occasionally, but most often they identify their relationship to me so they don't come off as a troll. The group with the homework assignment have to do this but don't want to, so aren't as pleasant. And of course there arethe naughty Aussies and our group of Dutch (?).
so long as someone doesnt come on here saying "give me words!!" (or some horrible, child-type misspelling of something likewise) im more than willing to help out a newbie, child or not. but as soon as you show that you just want someone to come on here and do the work for you, i have no time for you.
There was an apology this morning about the ones that have been on this week.My grandchildren also play when they are here and I get worried now about what they will read
give me words! now! :D
im DONE with you, ata!!
B..... off!!
i just try to ignore it , the more you engage them the worse they get
I hate u Eva! You suck!!
precisely, beth!
I am completely stumped on the last tu5/12. Anyone willing to help out?
love your pic, Eva!
I HaTe U2 AtA!!
i'm calling dr god right now
help with the other en8 please, have the en8/50(going thru a door)
Cait - what I read yesterday from several babblers offended me, let alone my younger brothers. Sadly, supervision is now necessary here. The language was inexcusable and disappointing. I know your granddaughter caught a bad scenario a few weeks ago Cait, directed at Jacs. It's a shame.
dont have that one pab :(
I just make sure Im with her now when she is playing
i do my best to ignore it all, sending messages to Dr God when needed. but never do i engage them.
Only one en8 in my list...
135467i (younger brother) babbles solo occasionally, but usually only when I am around. He uses expert and completes the grids whenever he actually sets his mind to it. Great learning technique!
pab en plus t5/14
oh, my. i just noticed there was an 11-letter word in there. yikes. i think i'm going to tuck my tail in and run away until tomorrow. carry on, brave soldiers!
ne 8?
its a shame when people misuse babble, cos its such a good aid for kids. I would have *loved* to have babble when I was younger
ne8 ne vowel, number and most of frozen water
When I first joined I was non-pro for well over a year. At first got lost in the troll shuffle a lot. Hard to break into this place if you happen to join at same time as trolls. (btw, thanks Ata :))
i guess i haven't been paying enough attention to the chat lately. gladly, i missed said incidents.
thanks caitlyn, have that one, it's an en7 you clued
thanks caitlyn
Sorry I just noticed that pab
*grins* it was so nice to see you enjoying pro-ness!
I don't agree with babble as a homework assignment though...I see no need for a child in elementary school to have to use a computer for anything other than typing up reports (and even that is a stretch)
Pab - There is only the one en8, unless I am being uber-blind.
I agree Uni
thanks for the ne 8
me too. Uni's always right
i had the same experience uni, i went pro very quickly because of the troll situation
well i saw the whole thing, bad language and all!
how does being pro help?
it was disturbing because of the "pro" adults reaction more than the kids. the kids were annoying at worst.
people realize you are not a troll and genuinely need assistance
Many claim that a troll won't pay to go pro. I've seen pro trolls (LOL) but it is considered a way to distinguish serious players from jokers.
sorry to break in like this, but i never expected that kind of language and reaction from adults
gotcha
i was never rude just got lumped into the mix
oh, okay, Uni, missing an 8 that's why I asked, have en, gr, ne, pe, pr, re x2, and un, what I am I missing
i hate to hear that too b/c one of the reasons i play is the quality of people and chat.
I agree nbj It was disturbing to see
people did over-react, but I can understand the frustration
Nbj...to put it lightly, I took the whole incident very seriously. The adult behaviours were deplorable and I have resolved not to confront that individual any further. It was beyond any blow-up I have had the misfortune to catch and the (serious) threats disturbed me greatly. [/petty]
hi all. *pops head into chat*
I agree nbj, the language was too much
A couple of the pro players used bad language which is no example to the younger players
Hi fruit
Did I miss a troll? *sadly puts troll spray away*
hi all
oh oh -- dog is being sick. brb
Hi stid!!
HA! Pab, it is a to 8 I think.
from what I read in the chat log, the kids weren't even being that bad, not like other trolls that have been on here
thanks Uni
hi all, stid, fruit and everyone
glad I've been busy and missed these incidents. One of the things I love most about babble is my Tartlet 1 (11 yr old) can play.
they were *annoying* over a few days. especially the first day they can on - and certainly did use bad language then
i still have 113 to go. i am not much help right now. my pounding head isn't helping either!
Hi nbj
i thought their annoyingness was refreshingly innocent. lol
LOL. Tartlet? Truly? Does he/she know about this nickname? :)
clue for that to8 Uni, please
{{{cait}}}
The problem is though that it isdifficult to differentiate between those who cause trouble, those who don't know better, and those who really want to play. I try to avoid lump judgments, but that is what happened. Oh, Pab I don't *have* it...I just looked it up in the list for you, sorry :(
Depending on the kids behavior I call them Tartlet # or Thing # (from Dr. Suess) ;)
well, on another topic, we had a tragedy here last nite
that's okay, am resisting go to the list yet
tragedy??
i came in at the tail end , i am too new here to try and insert myself into stopping that kind of response, it seems to make for very hard feelings i have seen too many hurt feelings and snits on chog , i dont want to start one
Right I have to go ,grandchildren back........see you all tomorrow, bye
what happened nbj
back again
uh oh, nbj, what happened?
what happened nbj
Tragedy? Not goat related, I hope. (And Fruit - that is ADORABLE. I have many nicknamesin family, but Lori just referrs to us in birth order on here)
bye caitlyn
bye cait, see you next time
For a couple of weeks Tartlet 1 was getting up early in the morning and playing . . . and then I found out that when people were asking for hints she was typing the words into chat rather than a clue! I've given her some etiquette lessons since then
Stupid broken space bar... ((Caitlyn and grand-kids))
our milk goat, we just got, was killed by a neighbor's pit bull
oh nooo :(
oh, no, nbj, that's horrible
oh no! how did it get in
Fruit - my below double digits brother also play with Lori...they aren't allowed to use chat though. It is too tough to get them to remember safety rules so far.
my 8yo was hearthbroken. he already had bonded
oh no... I am so sorry nbj!
that is just so sad.
Jasmine, that's horrible! I know you were so excited about the goats, it must have been an awful scene...Did you call the SPCA? Animals that attack usually are then obligated to be put down, aren't they?
so sorry to hear, NBJ!
it dug under the fence. we have an enclosed field, all gates closed and locked, fairly dog proof. but the pit bull got in under the far gate
oh, jasmine. so awful. when i grew up we had sheep and I remember vividly some dog attacks.
you should call the authorities, if it will kill a goat ...
i feel so badly for your 8 yr old . very hard to accept
I agree with Ata, the authorities need to be notified, it could be a child next
are your neighbors responsible types? or will they rationalize - not his fault....
in11.104
my dad talked about the 3 S's of these things -- shoot. shovel. shut up.
I hope that your children didn't have to see anything...that sounds awful enough as it is. I know in Canada you can/should demand the dog be put down after an attack. I don't mean to deprive someone of a pet, but they obvuiously can't control it and it is obviously adanger.
he didn't see the attack did he nbj, bad enough to find it
Marilyn - I don't have it, sorry.
in5/10 + nu6/24(papal ambassador)
in most U.S. states, animals that kill livestock have to be put down. That this creature went after an animal that was well corralled only adds to its potential for future harm. *very sad face of a dog lover*
Thanks Stid, I was wondering if there were a law. I can only hope that the dog doesn't go after any thing/one else. ((nbjasmine))
i know stid, it is hard to advocate for the death of any animal, but in these kinds of cases i dont see any other alternative
except really the owners should be put down instead
i'm with ata!
My stepmother had a biting dog when I was young..she let it bite nearly ten people before my brother nearly lost an eye. I have become very touchy about people who treat their animals badly/let them attack.
Rather than train it or admit the truth, she let it bite until she was forced to put it down. Animal mistreatment is disgustingly easy to get away with.
grrrrr yes it is
especialyl when ts not obvious. when the animal looks well and healthy
hi all :)
hi kaz
One of her friends was actually abusive to animals...they would be taken away, but she was always allowed to get more. One ofmy 'crusades.' Hey Kaz...welcome to babble's angry hour! :)
hi Kaz
yes, and really it is the fault of the owners when an animal is badly trained or badly behaved. If you can't keep an animal under control, then you need to keep it in a cage. imho... speaking as the "parent" of a rescued shepherd who is only now starting to trust strange men.
hey Kazozz! join the madness!
always so sad to hear of poorly-trained pitbulls....my brother has one + we love that dog. hate the deed, not the breed! but alas, any animal that attacks has not been trained properly and shouldnt be around others...
the local vet had a sign up recently... something about how good pet owners are well trained.
madness? I'm good at that!
<-------------- you'd be scared of Spangle, wouldn't you?
hugely scared
My neighbours had the nicest rottweilers (sp?) I have ever seen...but thatis because they were good "owners". Like I said, the former stepma NEVER trained any animals and therefore the animals lived sad half-lives.
I have known a couple very sweet pit bulls -- and other terriers -- and a couple that weren't quite so nice. How they are cared for as new puppies really makes a difference.
{{Haz}} hi there! *kisses spangle*
It's a pity the cats aren't...
Hello all!
hi Haz
my brothers dog is a puttbull-rottie mix... 2 of the "scariest" breeds, and shes the LEAST scary dog ive ever met...
Don't take the animal if you can't take responsibility. It is more than food, shelter, etc. There is health, training, love, attention, encouragement and enthusiasm too.
well I suppose I ought to actually try this one. How bad is it?
i know some *gorgeous* pit bulls, but they are well trained and socialised
It's a nice grid, stid.
and then of course there's hobbit... poor thing. if only her owners loved her...
okay, I shall wade in a bit.
yes, poor unloved dog
I pray for that dog every night (Hobbit).
she's beaten daily
rofl...
Sometimes, at night, I hear Hobbit's wails of sorrow.
No food to speak of.
Never walked.
No treats.
and never, ever, ever bathed... *p.u.*
The poor beast
Bathed? She wouldn't know what a bath was.
Never groomed or taken to the vet for unmentionable squeezing...
she *does* stink at the moment. she rolled in dead crabs
*gasp* you STILL haven't washed her? you've been home for DAYS!!!!!
Oh good! Uniquity has brought up glands without any prompting.
I don't think shepherds have glands... at least in the vet vists they haven't mentioned them.
this is new dead crabs from the beach today
Labs, on the other hand.... they have GLANDS!
Glandless!
Maybe they've had bottom transplants, stid?
oh good -- fresh crab scent! the best kind (can we assume hobbit is not on a "low-crab" diet?)
I become more and more convinced every day that I am *not* much of a dog person...unless it is a true mutt.
I could use a bottom transplant, about six sizes smaller...
low-carb or low-crab LOL she's certainly on a diet
LOL Stid!
I am not a "breed" person myself, nor a small dog person, but our dogs needed homes and I am a sucker...
i love dogs, but im not up for the responsibility.... cats are much more my speed...heh...
back for the very last few
Maybe you could donate your excess posterior to those who need implants elsewhere?
I've always wanted to do dog training though, for guide dogs and "emotional rescue" dogs. Know that they would domore good than me, lol.
that would be a good solution, haz!
{{{{{{{{SPRITELY}}}}}}}}
stiddie!!!!!!!!!!!!! *hug*
I'd sign up for it, provided there's no pain involved.
me too, uni
There goes this year's supply of exclamation marks and brackets.
well, sometimes, haz, one simply MUST emote!
1111!!!!1!!1!
nah, I have more where these came from, Haz
Oh I know. It must be the thrifty Ballymena woman coming out in me.
Goodness. There was me thinking Atalante had just discovered the 11 and was excited.
would you object to me hugging stid enthusiastically in real life?
got that *hours* ago
I was about to applaud her for her sparse use of punctuation just a few moments ago...but she ruined it.
well, am glad to see you, stiddie. If I don't sound like it, fill in some !s ;)
I am very glad to see you too sprite. Was thinking about you the other day and wondring if spring ever arrived in holland?
we have had some very ni4 days. But we are back to the eternal autumn again
no matter how many times I type "nine" it just doesn't go.
but the hawaiian goose makes up for it
yes, it is cold here today also. I got the car's old changed (and the mouse nest out of the fan) and had to pull a blanket out while I waited!
I am always happy to see poultry in the grid
awww mouse nest!
and fish. I hate a grid where there's no (real) fish
well, no mouse in it, just about three cups of mowed grass neatly stuffed around 3/4 of the car fan... made it rattle something awful!
I bet!!
there is a little shark in the grid today
yes, but... little shark??? *looks closer* all we have around here are dogfish and nurse sharks...
a grid without a fish is like a hug without a squeeze (thanks jilli for that wonderful phrase)
but you probably have it as something else. its a to4/5
Ata, will send you an email, won't beg for chats anymore :) Am very interested in the state of book/story corrections.
hm. well I do have a TO 4/5... *runs off to look at definition*
ah, no wonder I didn't know it was a shark: "Galeorhinus galeus" is a european critter!
i have most of it done :D
its a cutie shark
if one can RE t4, why can't one UN t4?
btw, for those present when those little tellytubbies made a pest of themselves: I got an email from MsABS about it. They were NOT directed to this site at all. They had a pic of the grid and had to find 10 words as homework. THey have been taken to task about their behaviour (teacher, principle and a letter to the parents).
Personally, I am miffed that "pooting" is not in the dictionary.
I just tried that stid
and the URL was not on the pic, but they found about it themselves.
thanks sprite! good to know that
Hello, folks.
kids today are SO smart. sometimes.
Hello Vicuna.
hey vi! how's everything back there today?
Everything's dandy here, as usual. =D How about you?
hiya Vic!
I am well. a bit sleepy, but a nap will take care of that.
I have been carving stamps a little bit, and they get better every time!
Hello, hello. Words, words, words.
MsAbs makes her most sincere apologies, she never meant to make this happen again.
oh great, stid! Would love to do that too. Must be so much fun to make stamps!
Oh, that's great, stidmama. Fun fun! Flowers, mostly?
it is fun, sprite. you would enjoy it, I know.
I have learned to love naps. They do me a world of good.
right up until the knife blade slips and the unicorn becomes a mere horse...
hmmm apparently sily wants to help babble today
told you naps are good!
lol, stidmama. But horses are good, too!
flowers and fruits right now, vi -- I am trying to decide if I want to make a whole bunch of cards and try to sell them at a benefit for the school
woot stid. That is something, carving unicorns.
I still have 2 of your cards, stid. I save them for very special occasions. People love them!
well, my unicorns tend to look more like rhinos to be honest. But it's fun anyway.
yeah, something I learned from you, Ata
am not ignoring you on chat, spritey. still marking this page up, keeping half an eye on babble. i'd rather wait and chat with you with my full attention
what fun, sprite! I am glad you are finding them useful.
Go for it. I get loads of note card sales, and the aren't too much money up front, comparatively speaking.
*they aren't too much...
thanks Vi. :-D
looking forward to it, Ata
In fact, lots of people buy them for gifts for teachers, so that might be a natural at a school sale! =D
I love beautiful cards. To send, to collect and to receive. It is marvellous to have a choice.
good one, Vic!
*facepalm* of course! that would be a good fit. duh...
you could even make a flyer/board that suggests them as gifts for teachers, stid :)
And with the end of the year coming up...
WOW. you gals are THE BEST!
... and don't forget coaches, music teachers, dance teachers, etc...
also, the highest class saying goodbye to the school and teachers for ever...
I think I know what I'll be doing this weekend... (and next) the sale is the 14th.
I should have started this last summer!!!!
hehehe stid... well, at least you don't have to be bored these weeks... as if you ever are ;)
help with the ni 7/28 please
lol. Well, I "cheat" by reproducing mine by xerox instead of having each one be an actual pr5.
Break time. Get a few more words before I'm back at what ever it is I am doing.
oh! Vi! *illusions dashed*
hi Bea!
and friends cards for the kids to give each other to last the summer holidays
ni7/28 - like a French shop where you'd buy the opp of day?
sorry Mac... not there yet.
oh! that was a great clue bi!
But, see, stidmama, the actual pr5's are limited edition!
or vi!
ni7/28 sounds like an 24/7 shop
If I only make an edition of 10-15, I can't be making more and more cards!
brb tea and dog
ty Vicuna and Sprite!
yw macc :)
bfn stid *hug*
(hope Haz doesn't mind me hugging again)
ok back to work.. cu all later :)
oh! that is a good point, vi! (of course)
late kaz
It's hard to squeeze too hard across an ocean!
you work late, Kaz! Have a good time at work
Bye, Kazozz.
lol Vic
I could do some limited editions, and some copies, like I do with my painted cards. As long as I am clear which is which, that would be good.
indeed so, stid. Also, you could make smaller prints, and have the originals in the original format.
Sure. People don't mind them being copies, because it's still an original design, and it is still not like anything you'd find in a boring old shop.
well, the stamps are pretty small, actually. except for the trillium I did a couple months ago. Did you see that one sprite?
don't think so, stid?
hold on...
to8 please
*Looking around vaguely, wondering what became of Haz.*
hope she was not scared away by a couple of !!!! and brackets
Pab, digit on foot + I want a BIG p5 of cake
she's mistreating spangle
I heard she was in the jacuzzi w/ George.
ATA! You shock me!
awwww now I don't believe that, Ata. Absolutely not. (Is she??)
She's profoundly regretting saying anything about brackets and exclamation marks.
thanks Uni
pe9 please
whew . . . re words done!

You're welcome Pab
poor Haz
{[She is?!!!!]}

thanks sprite. It did turn out well.
I don't have any 9s yet bichon...
i have some wonderful pics of ferns too, but i'm trying to decide wthether to postnthem on dA or flickr
oh, I haven't been to dA in ages... *sigh* I have too many interests and too little time. Without kids I would have just about the right balance...

your icon glows stid : )
LOL kje -- yes, it does a bit. Just what I needed on a gray, cold day!
I always think of the third Indiana Jones when I think of the pe word -- "only the pe****** man will pass" except the noun instead of the adj.
got it!!!!! :-D
Jen, that is a great clue also!
ty -- i'm all about movie quotes! :o)
I am up to 97 words, and looking for one of the Ns from the fourth row down so I can go get the list... I have decided 100 is enough to list at today.

Is the grid hard or easy?
Evening Babblers *Sticks head round th edorr and waves*
hardish but fun
*waves back* Hi FM and shorty
hmmm do I want to do it?
Hi Annie
Hello FM!
I see Im typing code as usual! Hi Annie :)
{{shorty}} how is faerie?
Hi Haz
Haz hello *happy grin*
Hello Annie.
I don't know I haven't talked to her in FOREVER
Things are looking up, FM?
ce7 please
hi
Nope, went downhill a bit and all unstable but back to holding pattern again ,sigh
ce7 - follow the coin with first letters of the fiddling Emperor
Oh dear. So it's just a happy grin to be here?
FM, are you okay?
thanks Haz
Oh that was a happy grin to see you and fellow babblers
You're welcome, pabtrek.
So 200+ words seems like a decent size but not sure a good amount to tacke at 8ish in the evening?
I understand, FM. You do know your smile might earn you the PB? (gr4)
It depends on your mood, FMitch. It's a nice grid but I had to tackle it in stops and starts today.
Oh bum! Oh well as I built the darn thing *giggle*
I saw that too, FM ----PB or not to PB?
I shall gracefull heaad to the PB
I don't think anybody else noticed. Hold your ground.
*places tea in PB for FM*
Annie noticed, I know, but she's discreet.
You don't fly around in a nun's outfit without knowing how to be discreet.
Discreet is my middle name
It's OK I need to check the Cabana boys are OK whilst it's quiet, they have been sending me emails full of complaints
Have babblers been too demanding?
Ph HAz, I see you have "seen off" George's girlfriend. It was reported in the Mail today!
Gosh, I must have missed that - come to think of it, I didn't read the paper too closely.
There are a certain US contingent who are, how shall we say, over exuberant when it comes to the Cabana Boys :)
and done - yea!
Tut tut.
Congratulations kje.
yay for kje! w00t w00t
thanks - that was challenging, but some fun words
now back to work : )
What starts the 10's and the 11 please ?
congrats kje

dont have the 10's
Log is freezing on me :(
ty Haz and ty Annie
Both the 10s end in the gerund.
You're welcome, jeffer.
150 words ready, I think I need to go to sleep. I have succeeded to find both 10's! Good night, all!
haz, that is a help...i will work backwards
Haz1588, it that your dog on the icon?
nite, ajv
thanks for the further clue Haz
Yes, that's Spangle. She's a Welsh Springer Spaniel.
Hello jeffer, how are you?
No problem - sing out if you want more hints for the 10s.
amazing dancing on that video - drooling : )
Please give her a pat on her head for mel....I lost my almost 18 yr. old Pomapoo on May 10th ...I'm still grieving
Hello Haz, long time no see

pe9 was atonement, I wouldn't mind hearing a clue for ep9
Haven't seen the movie. My MIL gave me the books to read - she's quite religious and evidently there is "issues" from that community bout the series- sorry, but I don't see what the issue is....
there was recently one in China
ep 9-----the middle
an ep 9 that is
the promotion of atheist principles
there are a lot of anti-Catholic issues in the books.
Thanks annie
The problem with the first movie is that it ended two chapters too soon
Well, I'm not Catholic so perhaps that's why I'm missing it.
I'm Jewish and I can see the anti-Catholic sentiments quite clearly
Pullman is very outspokenly atheist and ppl dont like that
a
All the fours are done.
But in this grid that's nothing!
I guess I read it for entertainment sake and not for hidden messages.
Wasn't aware he was atheist -

hey Vi, random question, my brain is dead. Can I use watercolours over dried ink?
If it's India ink or specified waterproof, sure. If water-soluble, then of course it will start to run into the watercolors.
so if it says "Indian ink - waterproof - etc" that should be ok, shouldn't it? assuming that its properly dry
finger painting is fun too
Yes. That will work fine.
wh00t got the dern liquor one

Oh bother. Having found the ball, I am now being asked to PLAY with it!

then there's GW_IM, but we don't really play that anymore...
ok break... lunch time or something

and... um, let me see, there's at least one other one, i think...

I'm off to bed, see you all tomorrow
when you play it as a game, you give people points
nitenite
how u doing MLF?
Not bad .. you?
goodn*** katie :)
I've found a Spanish tiger here, any points for that?
it often backfires though, because people don't get that it's a listless game, and they say, which one do you need, and also, it tends to irritate some people.
i've wished it would take tigre since early this morning!!!
One of my favorite Carol Burnett characters is in the grid:0)
well - -er words tend to be american, certain one in grid now that in uk would be -re - so why not tigre
we could certainly use it in the enable game, at the very least

here's another fun fast food trick: go through the drive through, taping a sign on the speaker pole that says, "speaker malfunctioning, please speak very loudly". then go in and sit down and watch as the person working the drive thru wonders why everyone is yelling.
the disease from having eaten some of the toxin is "St. Anthony's fire", in reference to the symptoms, such as severe burning sensations in the limbs
this sort of thing always bothers me.... we can have nepotism, so why no nepot?

ty -- got the favouring relatives one, but not the theatre one
in11 = bury + catholic sister + corporate bigwig
hi lynxxx
Lol, Ata emaild me her address !!
or emailed even......
one of the problems with a site like this, is that when children (who benefit greatly from these sorts of games) are allowed on unsupervised... which is the parents' or other caretaker's thing. When they are on and being watched, it can be a good thing.
oh good! I knew someone would!
oh FAVOURING... I thought she said FLAVOURING
hi all
hello babblers!
totally agree Stid - the teacher should have been online for the 4 hours too!

Well, of course everyone's grandchildren are decent! It's just all those other kids! ;)
ne7 - ne + ri4/4 - final vowel + **e water
thanks buzznbea!!!! great clue
not really, though perhaps less alone in my misery? *passes extra fudgy double chocolate chocolate layer cake with chocolate sauce*
however, I agree that they need a lot more training and monitoring about what children should and should not reveal to total strangers online
um well I tried to email it to you, Aussie, but the mail just bounced for some reason
57 left here
yes, there are some babblers who get amazingly "tetchy" when the chat isn't all about them or the words they are searching for. They forget this is a "chat" log, not a "clue" log.

lol nbjasmine ... good point. I've played some games (word and otherwise) where I've just given up because no-one mature seems to be playing at the time I am.
rofl.... spam spam spam...
sometimes, I just really wish I were that clueless, and not so scared to step on toes.
anyone want some clues before I go and do something constructive?
who are u? gimme the in 11!
lol
whats the other 10? i got pr10
*gr4* 'zactly, nbj!
"folks"? "folks"? don't you mean LOOOOOZERS?
just kidding,of course. i have the in 11
re 10
I have decided to get the one more 4 I need, then take a break. this game is SOOOO boring! OMG, I can't believe how lame this is!
i did call animal control ata. they said unless i press charges, they can't do anything except pick up the dog if it is roaming
wow. that sucks! barricade up your fence!
;-) stid
oh -- it's a pe4. *sigh* ick
nbj, will gladly contribute to a prosecution fund if you need one.
re 10 - re 7/36 (proof of purchase) + gerund
yes and i told the neighbor and he denied it OF COURSE. no, our dog was tied up. he's always tied up.
there it is. I have ALL the 4s.
i saw the dog trot by with a bloody muzzle!
i'm furious! i just don't know what to do now
and if you prefer a persecution fund... *eyes massive stack of TP from Costco*
lol stid
who in the hell, sorry, wants an unpredictable pitbull running around the neighborhood (that is full of kids)
njb, I would think calling your local elected officials. They are in the business of helping their constituents, unlike flunkies who work the counters in offices (apologies to all bureaucrats in the room)
I'm ask my friend. she works with animal control and would know how to proceed if you can
i'd like to do more than tp his house, lol
thx... just got that re10 lol didnt see the re7 there before
what did the pit bull do?
go ice go!
I'd tp it with dead goat innards
he killed our new milk goat, hursh!
anyway, down to 43, wish I could stay and just chat, but... I'll be back later. {{{nbj}}} hang in there.
:O
oh, how terrible, njb! there must be something you can do
with a muzzle on? wow.
bye stid. thanks for listening
bye all -- don't know what is happening, but the I'm having a lot of trouble entering in the chat log -- back at the flip :)
how awful, njb
bye cybernan
well if you know it killed it... then I would press charges anyways... my mom went to court because our labs got out and killed a chicken.. i think apit bull killing a goat is more severe than that
no, i meant his nose and face were all bloody
ohhhh
bye nan thx
I have to run off to do errands, but hope to be back later to finish off (still 106 left)!
right, you're not british
bye for now, all
last ni7?
Hey BBea !!
Later Natts !
this is not my favorite neighbor to begin with. it's just worse now
Hey, Aussie!

bye lady, hi bea and kje!!
KJEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !! Squeeeeeeeee !!
ni7 continue the ni5.10 with 2 vowels
did you get any pics of it?
BBL
jas - never knew that was what nb stood for until just now reading your profile - cool
sorry you all have to hear me vent. the neighbor's pit bull killed our new milk goat. no pix
ok Lynxxx, see ya later xx
Jasmine: ewwww, sorry to hear that.
TY, lynxxxxxxxx!
Oh NO !!!!! Thats awful Jas... {{{Jas}}}
call police
Here is where we vent and share Jas...... It helps....
THANKS. really. i just need to let off the steam right now
the police will say it is their word against ours. now her baby, kid, is alone and crying for mama all the time
:(
Oh Goodness..... Mama has a kid ? thats just, I dont even have words for it ! :0((((( very sad for you Jas...
but have you tried calling the police, njb? they might be able to identify some clues (evidence) that you are missing
would still call them - at lest then there is a record should more things happen - and there is more than he said, she said - there is a dead goat
assuming with dog teeth marks
dna test!
Hey JBV !!
hi, all.how's it going?
Georgia much better before you ask !
friend in animal control says call the police and get them to caution the people
Hey Angel....
hi angel - enjoying the heat?
and if the dog isnt licensed and vaccinated you can get them into shit for that
its an offence
Hey, Aussie - so glad to hear it, you must be so relieved, are you sleeping at night?
ok, brb, need to go get a cup of tea...... my legs have gone numb from being under my butt !!
I am sleeping when I go to bed yes !
actually, yes, kje. I like heat much better than cold.
thanks, all. i will look into that. aussie, was yours the little one who was sick?
today's grid was fun.
yes Jas, she is much better now though !
i'm sick. and by sick, i mean hungry.
nbj - I see you are in Santa Fe- I have family there and they also keep animals - no goats, but chickens, etc. - they've lost them to foxes but not to a neighbor's dog - that is so different
ok, going for that cup of tea, really now !.... BRB !
not foxes, I meant coyotes!!!
fox box coyote peyote
both pi7 pleae
oh, jasmine, I'm so very sorry about your goat . . .
go eat hursh - appears you are getting delirious
:-) hursh. feeling dr. seuss attack coming on? if it was coyotes, they would have eaten her, at least somewhat. animal control said it looked like dog attack to them too
39 left here
and apparently if the dog burrowed under your fence, you can ask the police to investigate trespasss / livestock enfdangerment etc
pi 7 - previos 5 + double vowel
have only one peri, pi (tree) + antacid ***s
Is that the pi7/40, peri?
i often appear more delirious than i am

hursh are you done
yeah
can I have a clue for the cr 6 (I have the cr 5)
am naughtily not finishing my packing for no good reason now
cr - like your skull (or the game) minus an "a"
cr6 take your skull and drop the a, then swap theother vowels
pinecotue? where am i going wrong?
yes, what hurshy said
got it, thanks, hurshy
pi (not pine) + folding bed + double vowel (as opposed to two vowels)
and thanks kje
aaaaaahhhh. light dawns, thanks hurshy
po7?
I really want poot to be a word !!
po 7 - if it started with im it would be a male sexual problem : )
*voting for poot*
Thanks, kje!
but... you have to wait fifteen minutes for full po****y, AND, you shouldn't go in swimming after for - what, an hour? yeah, an hour, a good hour.
Who seconds "poot" as a word ??

kje, I finally got rid of the adrenalin overlflow from last night. Our burglar alarm went off at home while we were on the way home from work yesterday.
Hm-m-m-m. got it.. Thanks kje
did anyone get inside?
yw
that's pretty scary, Angel, but if it was a false alarm, all is well now, right?
nope. no one was inside. my husband and our neighbor checked the house out when we got home...
hmmm - at least it did its job then
we're getting the security system checked next week.
I don't know if one of the cats did something to set it off or what.
PMSing, have the munchies, and nothing looks good...
i'm eating cheese and crackers
try some chocolate, kje
I want popcorn...but don't have any
im going to get some polar bear ice cream in a minute

oh, thanks, I was thinking of another word, but it's only 7 letters
re9/72 please? tyvm
but did you get it ??
re 9 is an extension of the 7/32 - joining up again
yes, thanks Aussie - got it!
now I'm stuck on pe 7 - can you clue that, please?
oop don't have the 7 et! *looking*
thank goodness... I always think of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade when I think of that word.... near the end, when he is going through all the steps in the diary.... "only the pe***ant man shall pass !!"
I dont have the pe7 :0/
glad you're still here, aussieme -- I have a strange question; what does georgia call you and her father, and does she have any other friends or relatives she sees regularly?
*gasp* Aussieme doesn't have enough P!!!!
Mama, she calls us Mommy and Daddy....
okay, good. *scribbles notes*
it's a project... *shhhhh* don't tell!
hi stid! te 9 please?
there are practically tons of words that exist but it won't accept
She also has her Grandmother and Grandfather, who she calls Gran-Gran and Grandad
hi TO! TE 9: the camping shelter, clear throat sound + gerund
found the pe 7 - it's a writing implement + anagram of a person between 13 and 19
erm, her Auntie Sally, she calls Sal ....
aha! perfect info! thanks aussime!
erm, her Auntie Diana she calls Di-Di.
ty stiddy and ty jbv
:-D this is going to be GREAT!
thanks JBV!
She also.... **I dont know how to explain this one**.... She knows her Brothers name ! She asked me who he was **we were looking at pictures** and I said, her Brother Nicholas, but she calls him "Nick"
Hi all its a bit BIG for me to-day
yw - I use More Words when I get desperate
oh, that is the BEST! I am so glad she knows about him. {{{aussieme}}} my boys know about their unseen siblings too.
hey diem, this grid is a stinker. Belongs in the diaper pail, if you ask me!
she knows so many names. She knows lots of characters from the TV, like, Fifi and the Flowertots (which comes on Nick JR, kids TV)
Oh dear!!
Its hard, but she sounds so cute when she says his name....
:-) I am writing a story for her, actually. You'll see... ;-)
probably get it mailed off sometime next week at the rate I am going.
to 8 please?
When we went to the grave yard on his birthday (which is one week before Georgias Birthday), she said, "shhhh, Nick sleeping"... It broke my heart....
Aussie, those are the first words to introduce in writing, if you were thinking of that.......
OMG I just saw the ocunt of un words!
*hangs head in despair*
awwwwww Aussie
{{{{{lots more Aussieme hugs}}}}}
Awww, Mama.... thats so nice of you !!
go TO go!!!!
there are a LOT of unWurds today! LOL
You can do it, TO!!
I think that it's good that she is growing up with that knowledge from the start
{{{Babble Group Hug}}}
*sniffles and shares secret chocolate stash*
hugging back
Well, I dont believe in hiding things away, and she is a naturally curious child....
what do "Sal" and "Di-di" like to do with Georgia? read books? play games? roll around on the carpet and make funny faces?
All of the above Mama !
EXcELLENT! (this story is writing itself, you know)
and I shall apologize in advance for the "yank" spellings, I dare not attempt to get the correct british ones.
this is not the same at all, but my mother's sister died when I was less than one year old, and I was shown her picture many times and knew her as my "aunt" - when I tell people this story, they think it's weird, but I grew up knowing how important she was to my mom and her family
Sal loves to take her to the park to see the birds....
unless you would like to proofread the copy before I illustrate?
Its not weird at all JBV,
No Mama, you go right ahead !!
JBV -- not weird at all -- wonderful that you kept that love around you! we did the same thing for my brother-in-law who was killed only a few months before the older boy's birth...
"Uncle Mark" has been part of their lives all along.
need 2nd or 3rd pi5/24 have stab
in fact, they know his name better than the other two uncles on that side! LOL
meant pi6/24
My Grandmothers Sister Blanche, died when she was 10 years old, of sunstroke, but, she was always a part of my life.....
and I have the pi6/24 someone who puts things together
ands she died 56 years before I was born !
pi6= crabs have them as "hands"
thanks Jellen
well, as long as we're sharing, I'll tell you that on Sundays, my grandfather would take my sister and me to what we thought of as "the park" - to sit under a tree, read the newspaper, play in the grass, etc. - you guessed it - it was the cemetery, we had a regular weekly date there
clue for pr 7/36 please
pr7= before + penny
oh JBV! great story -- (my older kid calls it "the body garden" because we used to go regularly to put flowers on a couple graves when they were little -- less often now we live out of town)
ty Jellen
nothing wrong with it JBV.... its better to get children comfortable with going there, that way they dont get scared when they go when they are older....

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, her husband isn't doing too well.
i've managed a few big ones w/out, but usually need to resort for the last few
just kidding bea but thanks
what;s up Jade???
oh that is very sad news jade sure will do
Nutty's hubby has less than a month left to live.
let her know we all will and I will pass the message on too if you would like?
She needs all of our support and love
OMG I had no idea.........
OMG i had no idea jade
Not a lot of people know
Oh, I am sooo sorry.....
would you like us to pass your message on?
speechless
Yes please
sure will jade, i think i am in shock.........
I'm not sure how she'll take it if she found out I said anything....but she could use our love
They are talking about hospice care right now to keep him comfortable at home.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, all...but it's nut....after all...the one who makes us all laugh
Hospice is wonderful, but this is nonetheless horrible for her. My heart goes out to her.
and she could use some cheer....
Hospice care can be a wonderful comfort, jade
I'm not really sure what to say now...........but of course we will all be here for her jade
Which "Nut" are we talking about?
thank you....I must go....but please spread the word....
evanonut, bea

I just tuned in -- horrible news about nut's hubby!
hi jilli, i know.........
Hi jilli
feck cuss cuss i thought he had beaten it.
How old is he?
So young! What has he been fighting?
Well, nut is 29...
OM
G
hi jellen
I am ok. man that so totally sucks i thought he had beaten it. I love my nutstar. Im going to message her.
beaten what, nut?
Cancer--I think melanoma, but I'm not by any means sure.
I mean herin
Melanoma is evil
Pretty sure cancer.
hi everyone!
Jill he has cancer i thought he had beaten it.
hi lbd
Hi, lbd
you sure it's not myeloma?
hi dawg
melanoma is not as highly metastatic as myeloma
hi jilli, jellen, lind
myeloma is bone metastatic, and at that point, becomes incurable
Not sure at all, GaTek
(i do cancer research)
melanoma's a whole lot more treatable than myeloma.
hello all {{{Jilleroo}}}
Hi stiddy!
hi stid
hey, stid
hi une
hi unea
Hi again, stid.
if the cancer is melanoma it's hard to beat. My cousin's husband, an ardent golfer in NC, found a little spot on his arm a year ago, immediately had it removed but still it just went all through him and by October he was gone.
ah. I see jade spilled the beans
hello, all . . . been lurking and reading the very sad chat
yes, stid -- so sad
yes stid
yeah but that takes a lot longer to develop
you should all know that nut doesn't like or want too much sympathy... she is being strong for hubbynut and needs us to be strong for her
you knew, stid?
if her husband is as young as it seems....
yes, very sad news. (((NUT and HubbyNut)))
yes jill, I have known for a long time
how old is he stid?
is it maelanoma, stid?
not old enough, lindy -- and it's highly unfair. and when I see God next time, he is going to get an earful
yes jill
wow
*shaking fist at god*
so young and suffering from metastaic melanoma
what is the 11
typo -- melanoma, but should be MALanoma
WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN!!!! (and hats and long sleeves)
the 11 is in... do you want a clue?
hey stid.
my mother is a 20+ year melanoma survivor. get spots checked early and often
hey lady
Sorry if i go a tad quiet
may I have help with the Ei please?
stid -- did you know because of your connection with the the babblecast, which I haven't found yet?
we're all saddened by the news, herin. we understand

yes, want a clue for the 11
subject? hm....
oh! got it!
Hey GaTek...what do you know about the cyberknife procedure...I saw you do cancer research...
see my clue, stid
IN 5 (to bury) + the papal messenger N6
merci, chere Une!
not familiar
stid -- how charming -- hardly anyone says shan't any more!
:-D
my expertise is in prostate and breast cancer
I am practicing using that word. I think it's better than "won't" all the time (which sounds ugly when overused)
and i spend most of my time in a lab playing with cancer cells and giving mice cancer (sad i know)
shant as in shall not, wont...will not.
I cannot believe that GI 7! LOL but I need help with the ER 7
Ok...just thought I'd ask...my dad is going to have it done. Been on stupid chemo for years and now giving cyberknife a try
good to know, chiclet!
well guys that has knocked me for six, i'm no longer in the mood to play, so i'll see you all tomorrow, take care xxx

well GaTek, it's an important job. may you be successful in your research!
night night, lind (((HUGS)))
{{{{lindy}}}} see you sometime soon
any help with the ni7,28??
Yes GaTek...work VERY hard
thank you!
on the verge of a breakthrough
baby steps
oh, Lindy, it's a shocker and I understand but one must carry on
ni5.10+ two vowels, legend
the more we understand about how these cells work, the easier it will be to destroy them.
Legend: looks like a "sweet" term for a nightgown?
Yes GaTek ...search and destroy!
I am carryinging on, jill *busy restocking pirate brigantine with rum, mud pies to fling at government ships and pin-ups of hawt beach boys*
thanks all! just got it! FW!! yay me! whew...what a DOG of a grid, eh?!

TY, chiclet. If you prefer email, my address is at the bottom of my profile -- click on my icon to get it. The problem is that I'm on Femera (letrozole) and it has just gone up $20 per month in cost, making it nearly $200 for 30 tiny pills. Until now, it has been paid for by the BC Cancer Agency but the grant was for 3 years and they are up. I'm afraid this question may not make sense to you because our Canadian system is so different from yours

stid -- doc has asked and been refused. My question is why the $20 raise in one bldy month by the bldy drug company, from $5.90 per pill (including tax and pharmacy fee) to $6.63 per pill between May 1 and May 26. Looks like a ripoff to me, taking advantage of a cancer-return preventative.
