cant find it no matter which one i use justmar
If the Lakers win a game, I have to call him long distance and listen to 10 minutes of his trash talk. If the Celtics win the game, he calls me and I get to talk!
lol. trash talk
<---------does not like this grid esp since she can't rotate the board
may you be talking up a storm then
He lives near Fairbanks, AK and I live in Las Vegas, NV

en6 x 3
CH words are done
Cool. Yuk yuk.
Geek....i will be in Las Vegas early Aug to see my son get married!
en 7 too
I geuss teh standing bet is on again??? Go Celtics!
In August Mar??? Great! It will be a bit warm
fe6 x 2
yes I know but it will be a dry warm lol
Don't you mean that you'll have to pay up on the bet again?
he6 x 2
I have fe 7 X2
I still remember 1986.. That was #16. The Lakers did give it to them though
JustMar, Pigeonmen tells me that Fairbanks might get to 50 below zero but it's a dry cold! Sort of the same thing...
When was the last time the Celtics won the chanpionship?
1880
lol
i ahve both FE 7 s now
1986... That was their 16th champoinship...
yeah geek in the reverse.....I know very hot humidity ...I love heat
hi
JustMar if you love heat you shoudl have been here today it was in the 80s
and I HATE both dry and damp cold! :D
sorry, mlf -- I left here for a bit -- wasn't ignoring you re the breakfast cereal/toodleoo
Vegas is the right place in August then. Ask Pigeonman about the summer he was here a couple of years ago... The high never got below 114 degrees
i got the DE 7
13 to go.
ti6
lol i got it jill i was going the wrong way but i knew what ti was just wasnt paying attention that the actual word was the other direction i was trying to get it
Here it was about 55F and cloudy until late afternoon, when I warmed up in the sunshine -- much too cold for the end of May
and iw as trying to spell it with a y knowing it wasnt supposed to be spelled that way lol
well I'm staying at a nice hotel with pool.....will see my son get married in a beautiful garden...and...prob would have never seen vegas if he'd they'd not decided to marry there!
The difference between 60 below and 115 above is: You can keep your car running at 60 below and it stays warm. If you keep your car running at 100 above, it'll overheat. Then it takes forever to cool down once you get back in it. Bllllaaaahhhhhh.
so for me it's all good!
where are you JustMar?
i mean at the moment justmar
at home
When were you at a hotel with a pool?
The other difference is that I had to shovel snow, I've never had to shovel heat!
well with remote start on the car you can cool down a car a lot faster than you can warm one up......trust me on that one lol
No. You just have to mop it off your forehead.
I have ge 8 and the 8, was the third 8 called?
actually th 8... sorry
I will be at on mlf .....if you've read the chat properly..
now it's not sending my chat...
HI Jilli, 55 sounds nice. I have cousins that live in Kelowna, BC.
ok Is anyone else having problems with babble now or before?
but I get excercise shovelling snow with clean fresh air.....
Dee id ont knwo fi its been called but it is a TR but i dont have it
I'm not Chic...
Fresh air wins!
ty mlf
No prob here
nah.....warm climate year round wins geek...
tr6
yw dee
I suppose you work in "the" industry there in vegas geek?
I'd love warmth and sunshine all year round, sigh!
Good point. I was in San Diego last weekend for my brother in law's wedding. It averages around 78 F. Amazing!
Hi,
Hi,
i think vegas is a bit beyond "warm" climate
It is more like baked potato weather
I have found 57 words i am out of here bye everybody
me too jilli .......just not sure if I could take the flat desert heat tho...
POOF
Actually I'm a computer geek working for the AIr Force as a civilian. I also teach part time at the College of Southern Nevada.
hubby called her to bed
I've been to the sinai.....so I know dry heat too.....
lol ruru
nice geek.....glad to hear!
Anything over 105 is just HOT!
half way and NBT :)
yeah for sure but 5 days at a luxury hotel ain't gonna kill me :D
we sometimes get 110
I can't believe we used to play baseball in that weather.
I did say *warmth* and sunshine -- not *heat*
lmfao. some guy just tore down my street, stopping to do a burnout. tore off down around the block. Then, like ten seconds later he goes past again, followed by a cop car.
I play tennis in that weather.. how dumb am I?
ok dinner is up be back a bit later all ive got 30 to go lol
Baseball or basketball at Ron's house in all weather...
Las Vegas and Tucson are considered High Desert. Nothing flat about it; we're surrounded by mtns here and you can get cool up there any time.
bon apetite kiwi
pot roast is calling her to dinner...
I guess I am the play by play guy tonight
well it ain't lush vegetation nor the laurentian ecosystem is what I mean !
went to Tucson a few years ago -- carried a water bottle all thetime before it became fashionable even here on the Wet Coast
Geek. How much does it cost to see Elton John in Vegas? He was here last night and the tickets were 115 each.
Same here. Certain times of the year you can snow ski in the morning and water ski in the afternoon. Mountains and Lake Mead

its unlucky
ohhh thank you!
tr8/45 first th5/12 letters of the thing that produces wood + a coin + a vowel
ty frances!
You're welcome Ata.
is the grid too much - noone chatting lol
I'm having a quick blast before I have to get ready for cricket Kiwi.
I'm painting, inking, gridding and watching a video on Scientology prison camps!
ahhhh local game? or you watching kiwis?
Multi tasking eh Ata?
we are stuck with watching jurrasic park 3 lol
Kiwi, I'm a cricket scorer.
nice way to while away the day frances :) i love my cricket - watching not playing tho im not a good runner
scientology astounds me. its sooo weird
Me too Kiwi. My friends think I'm mad.
Hello all - lucky log in here - picked up 2 eights
I love cricket too
Hi ursh.
ursh!!!!!! hugs good to see you happy babbling
my friends think im boring so do the kids lol
cricket is soooo not boring
yes i am missing a third eight!
i know that and you know that but they dont believe it lol
i'm lucky, i come from a cricket mad family
OK it's nine am. I've walked the dog. Now I have to run to the shop, shower, wash my hair (not in the shop) and be out by 1120.
have fun, frances! it looks like it'll be a lovely day!
ge8/55 think of a male with perfect manners. He is called a ge4 add a grain. tr8/45 first th5/12 letters of the thing that produces wood + a coin + a vowel.
bye frances have a great day enjoy
Morning one all! Hello ursh - well done on the two 8's - can't see a thing at the moment! :\
For a change Ata. I had two games off in the week because of the rain.
good eve lorrie happy babbling
i have 10 to go lol
My cue for smug. We've not had proper rain for weeks.
Thanks Kiwi ! :)
Hi lorrie - cant find a third one tho
hi haz! hi pseudo-polka
Hello Haz - I'm sure I heard UK was having floods again?
Don't get greedy now, ursh! :)
does anyone have aclue for what the j word is?
Ah yes, but I live on the offshore bit of the UK (Northern Ireland)
baby kangaroo
omg i totally forgot about that...wow

Isn't it just, liz? Aren't you glad to be this side of the north/south divide?
evening liz happy babbling
its gorgeous here too!
Absolutely.
Still, it's probably more gorgeous here.
Thought you were having horrid weather down there Ata.
It's definitely more gorgeous here.
nope, its glorious. bright sunshine, blue skies
ti 6 - noise a wind up clock makes
Darn.
we had a really nice day here for the last day of autumn but started raining now
*smug*
Ah well, that's my schadenfreud out the window for today.
Tx groovy - sat staring for ages cos no k
omg at ti6!
There has to be some advantage to living this far north. Our days are longer.
thanks kiwi
me too ursh didnt think it would work
I can't beleive that's a word Groovy.
tgetch
sorry, typo!@
I can't spell believe either
Must get out into this lovely day before it disappears. Later, folks
enjoy your day liz
Bye liz. But don't forget, we get to enjoy it for longer than those down south, longer daylight and everything.
only for half the year
Yes, but it's the right half.
did anyone watch QI last night?
Of course....the best half of the year, I might add.
they reckon with this global warming that NZ temps are going to get 3-4 deg C warmer within the next 3-5 years
No, I didn't see it.
there was a great question - which is the smallest county in Britain?
Surprise me.
got the third oneeee. yay. sorry.
well at high tide, the Isle of Wight is. at low tide, Rutland is
I love that there's usually an answer but there's always a proviso.
how cool is that?!
So, did they have to decide what time the question was asked to determine what the answer was?
its such a great programme, but that answer just is unusually wonderful
no, it didn't get that complicated, for once
I know. Stephen Fry manages to sound as though he knows the answers to everything, quite effortlessly.
i'm sure he does, as well. he's a very smart guy
wooohooo firewords for me and that was not a very he 6/27 pace at all lol
He is. Bamber Gascoigne managed to pull off the same trick in University Challenge but only by dint of reading extensively around the question subjects before each programme.
I can't see Dick and Dom paying quite the same attention.
Jeremy Paxman almost manages it too
Congratulations Groovy!
nice going groovy
then there's that awful Judith woman on Eggheads who looks permanently surprised that she knows anything
I have 26 left - will shower etc and come back with the list
ok enjoy - we have no hot water so no showers for us tonite lol
I can't watch Eggheads for too long, the smug factor is so overwhelming!
the power to the garage where the shower is blew up today and cant get the electrician in so we have to boil the water to have washes instead lol
Bye ursh - see you later..
oh yay! spangle's back!
She's been back for a while!
ooo! I saw pseudo-polka a while ago. my lappy must be slow in catching up
ok anyone for any clues before i head off?
I realised I had forgotten to change from pseudo Polka after my first post, so I took steps.
were you here when liz was saying about oscar jumping off a cliff? that dog is mad
i still hven't got the th8
*cry*
tasie the number that is unlucky for some
I wasn't here at the time but read about it in the log afterwards. Oscar definitely has some sort of death wish.
*hugs groovykiwi*
he really does! that dog is insane! espcially with the vet on Guernsey
morning all
good eve spritey happy babbling glad i saw you before i left
hi spritey!
Kiwi! How are you?
hi Ata
did your son send his speech to dad and did day react? Have been thinking about it a lot.
Hiya sprite :)
i am good - you missed out on roast lamb dinner lol
hi Lorrie :)
ian rang a couple of nites ago to let the boys know he was leaving the island the next day and said that he had read the speech and was in tears afterwards
actually i had a relatively civil cool calm and collected conversation with him
wow, I am so glad, Kiwi. *hug*
hi Haz, still mad at me?
ok i am outta here for the nite happy babbling all see ya tomorrow
I was never mad at you. Just because I don't put lol after every sentence doesn't mean that I'm not occasionally joking.
bye Kiwi, have a lovely evening :)
luvs ya <---------------- this much lol ---------------->
I can related to that. Just because I don't put lol after every sentence doesn't mean that I'm not occasionally laughing.
lol Kiwi :) That is quite a lot!
ch7 as the brits say
oh... and relate is without a D. Silly fingers.
Kiwi, thanks. Found that from your clue without seeing where in the grid it was :)

hehehe Gwen, hello!

I really want orrery
i keep reading the bottom line as 'gifted' lol. its bothering me!
you know what freud would saya bout that? LOL

ye4, sounds like you a throwing up
a=are (OY)
morning all!!
howdee pink!!
wierd. thanks!
hi tashie and pink
hello sprite and tashie!!
hi sprite and pink!
was writing an email, missed your entrees :) How are you?
hello BDG
oops... sin bin for me.
phantom: concentric! (yes, i know i can use part of that)
bore da, morning all
north or south wales, mystery?
north
oh wow, fab. all the welsh bablbers are from the south
whereabouts?
gwynedd
oooh, hello to gwynedd from gwyneth (that's my name that i never use) !!
i used to live there
ooo
Hiya. I went to Uni there - in Bangor, N Wales.
Have a good day everyone, bye babblers!!!
only once been to a gig at time/amser - £20 taxi home
I go caravanning to N. & mid Wales frequently..love it.
so did I :)
Hi and bye, pink!
hwyl, pink, have fun
As a kid, all our hols were spent in Wales. My parents spent five years learning Welsh.
so did I! 5 years of learning welsh that is
Yours must be pretty good, Mystery
I went to primary school in Wales, had to learn Welsh there, bits & pieces still remain in my brain.
half way! now i'm off.
bye!
going rusty - not using it - sometimes I feel that there was no point in learning it. though i have met some nice people
I can only remember odd words my mum taught me.
the courses i did were from bangor uni - full of humour - vindaloo!!!
I remember the national anthem and a poem about naughty piglets!!
back again... life got in the way. Hi and bye to all coming and going.
Some friends have moved to Cornwall and are learning Cornish. It's a tragedy when languages are lost. Fancy you going to Bangor, Mystery. I loved my 3 years there.
Hi sprite
I actually spent my 3 years in Menai Bridge
hey hydra :)
I've heard a lot of Welsh spoken in Mid Wales, even by school kids, very heartening to hear.
What did you study, Ata?
the schools round here teach through welsh
jealous - children as young as 5, bilingual!
on anglesey? guess :P
opposite
a clue: we had a big boat
being bilingual is much easier for a 5yo than for an adult
It's the right time to start, Mystery
Er... marine biology?
yep :D
yes, I was a 11 year old in london and went to France for 3 weeks camping with the youth club - I thought everyone should speak english....
Difficult subject. Don't suppose we were there at the same time. I'm too long in the tooth.
ooo! spent a week at the menai labs... unfortunately, i can't tell a fish from a fish - qmw m & fw
LOL :)
a week? how come? the labs are just gorgeous
you should have seen the drawing of my john dory
was at london uni
Er-hm, Mystery.
oh you did m&fw at gmw? that was my second choice of course and uni
with campbell, rainbow
rainbow and campbell - did work in red? sea on coral reef - though they did play with "water pistols" until one erm, well, shot its insides out at one of the other researchers
lol. um yeah. such things sound v familiar
I did my PhD on the evolution of coral reef fish assemblages
cucumbers, holothurians
ooo
didn't get that far, just BSc
yes, holothurians make great water pistols
still didn't get a job relating to anything I learnt at uni. I love walking along a beach though
I shall have to google holothurians now, to see wot they look like
they said they went diving for their dinner - caught fish on stick, but then bigger fish stole it
yeah I used to do that. we'd catch parrot fish
we did a module in parasitology - got fish from isle of man - it was my second fish disection and was a lot better. didn't have many parasites on so friend took it home for dinner
oh yes. we used to have our freezer full of cod from labs, especially from when we'd do fisheries and go out trawling
i did my final year project on pedicillarie or whatever they are called, echinoderm bits
oh fun! echinoderms rock. I nearly did my PhD on their evolution away fro ophiuroids. but my friend did that project instead. I did mine on formainifera. Hours and days stuck behind an electron microscope. Joy.
there's another marine biologist that lurks around babble called billmeister. He works on microalgae up in Scotland
holothurians - hydra - are marine biologists' favourite toys!
yay, trust sea cucumbers to kill the chat
grr, lost broadband then...
I love sea cucmbers! Good morning
eva! yay!!! hows merrrrrrp?
hi Eva
Merp's well-don't know how he'd take to a sea cucumber
how are you and yours?
oof, just spotted the coral in the puzzle! lol
lol he would be fascinated until the thing squirted at him!
yes, lol. happened to one of my old lecturers
or his colleague
Am I mistaken in remembering that they sometimes expel their own stomachs?
they certainly do!
turn themselves inside out?
that is correct
can't remember the term for it though
eversion
when that comes up in a puzzle, can then give the cucumber clue!
We used to go seining when I was a child, and set up salt water tanks, and I remember being fascinated by that occurrence, and worrying that they would get stuck that way. We also had seahorses who gave birth(the fathers carry the young), baby flounders, pipe fish, jellyfish, puffers
oh how *wonderful*!
just started postcrossing - their forums have some details of forthcoming stamps - lovely looking jellies on the hong kong (or somewhere else in far east) stamps
the flounders and flukes were particularly wonderful, as they'd bury themselves in the bottom and all you could see were two eyes (on the same side of the head).
the cook islands have some fab fishy stamps
i think there is a fish in the puzzle
haven't found it yet
I like puzzles with fish in
methinks more freshwater than sea
(one thing to note for future puzzles, mystery, is that raia is a word)
bottom dwelling perhaps
throne
hmmmm
is it a ce work?
word that is
rice
dr fish
thanks
wiki - It normally inhabits slow-moving freshwater habitats, particularly lakes and lowland rivers
but there is no dr
oh yes, that one. I have him :)
te5
species name reminds me of a tailor, soldier spy...
... is a freshwater and brackish water fish of the cyprinid family found throughout Eurasia from Western Europe including the British Isles east into Asia as far as the Ob and Yenisei Rivers. It is also found in Lake Baikal.[1]
genus name even ;)
got it! Thanks
so, two aquatic words so far, any others?
like very smelly, but without the S.
G'd morning Babblers! 37 left after the first sweep. Methinks they're all u-g-l-y..... :-)
loooori!
hi Lori, 18 left and still going pretty strong... must be another grid!
and fishy?
time for a Merp break
almost no creature in sea is ugly, I think. Just looked at the water cucumber algae. That is both nature and art.
he6/21 uproar in the streets, caused by one male.
***yawns and pours another coffee***
greenland sleeping sharks are quite ugly
So, I've got me a ge 8. What do the other 2 8's start with? ***no clues please***
tr, th
th and tr
Merci bocups! ***looking***
Thanks for the he6/21 clue, Ata
yw hydra :P
that was spritey :P
Sorry, sprite! It was you, not Ata
ooo, a welsh word!
all taken into stride, hydra, I got the drift ;)
Just got back. Partner's new digital camera arrived so had to take a look.
oooo!
oooo
i want new digi, still not a bad one just doesn't do well in low light
still, it took a nice piccie of by the wind sailor
ooo! do you have your pics online, mystery?
down at dinas dinlle
oh my, there is a re in the grid. How did I overlook that. Must be my missing words.
His is 11 mega pixels. Mine's only 6. I know Dinas Dinlle. Have lots of piccies of me and sis aged about 4 and 7, shivering on the beach there.
its a lovely beach
velellas are lovely. as is dinas
though shivering doesn't sound too inviting
I remember big grey rocks, freezing sea, cold wind and my poor little sister blue with cold. My mum was a hardy soul who chucked us into the water whatever the weather. I was plumper than my sis, so didn't feel the cold so much.
so, i don't have an excuse not to jump in !!!
No, you don't! lol
afternoon all, missing te8, could really use a clue?
brrrrrrrr
Is the th 8 normal, relatively spekaing?
*speaking even
no te8 in ghis grid, Ishult. I think.
very normal
G'd morning Ishult
the tr on the other hand ....
I'll find a Dinas pic and stick in on my blog later, or in my Facebook album.
meant tr.....sorry???
Thanks Ata. ***Slides it back, toddles off to look***
I have the tr, we've had it before, I think
yup, not new to babble
it's ok, found it!!
I'm still down among the d's. Done too much talking.
Duh........found it. Thanks again Ata! ***blushes***
5 left, re's done, how hard can the rest be? But just because they are the last 5, they are tougher than the rest. It is all in my mind...
lol Lori. A time best forgotten?
56 left. Must try harder.
Good lord, that was a serious case of Babble blindness.
Morning all.:-)
looool *hugs lori*
Yes sprite, let's just put this whole ugly incident behind us now, shall we?
hey Jac! How is life? And how are you?
hi jac!
G'd morning Jac
let's, Lori, let's ;)
Go hydra go!
Hiya Jac
Hi, Spritey. Haven't been in the chog much (too many kids around last week). Hope you are well?
I urge you all to read Jac's blog. It's brilliant.
Hi Hydra. MrG got a camera like mine, did he?
been better, Jac, but holding on. *hug* It is good to see you.
Is yours 12 megapixels? Black and sexy?
*Blushes* I'm not sure it's brilliant, but thank you, Hydra.:-) Yours are the bees' knees, too.
loved the silly dog theme, btw
You mean, short and hairy?
My knees are like that too!
(((Hugs))) Sprite.
Hydra - LOL. 3.1 megapixels, silver and, as for sexy, I've never really thought of it that way.:-)
Short & hairy knees? Are you really 'Little Ern'?
greetings, all. Babble Stats have been updated for the month of May.
tenetic
Hiya, Angel.
sorry!
Wish I'd watched that prog about men having sex with their cars! I bet theres guys who love their cameras, too!
wow, great blog, Jac. Must link it so I can frequent it :)
hi Angel
we had 10 grids with fewer than 100 words, and we had the smallest grid for the year to date this month.
Please do, Sprite. You'd be very welcome.
Hydra - The car programme can't have been as bad as the one about the chap in the USA (south, I think) who married his horse (in every sense).:-/
oh hydra, that prog was so funny
I missed it. Damn!
What channel was the car programme on. Ata?
ch4? I think
I heard about a guy in the Sudan, I think, who was forced by the villagers to marry his goat as he'd been caught in flagrante.
that is criminal
I'd like to marry my cat!
errrrr hydra...
Hydra - Yes, I read about him.
it followed 2 men who loved cars in slightly different degrees of obsession. masturbation with various bits of them, one guy who said he'd want to take a car home and rape it etc
Hydra - why would you want to marry Flad?
sorry, but that is pretty sick
:o, still happy to be without tv
Ata - was the programme on recently? I might be able to get it on C4od Player.
just had door bell - jehovah's witnesses....
yes, it was 2 or 3 nights ago. let me try and find the name for you
Anyone read the book, A Melon for Ecstasy? It's about someone who rapes trees! And Jac, because he's so soft, furry and loving and makes my heart melt.
Tell them you're a pagan, Mystery. That's what I do.
No, not read that Hydra.
BBS. Cat needs food.
Thanks, Ata.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=P_KrJObpgWM
Neither have I, and I bet they don't have it in the library! I'd better go. I'm corrupting the chatbox!
This is Edward. He REALLY loves cars, especially 'Vanilla', a VW Beetle. See more of Edward and Vanilla when 'My Car Is My Lover' is broadcast on Five, on Wednesday 28th May 2008 at 10 p.m.
ch5. I guess that makes more sense!
washing needs to go out on line...
and fireworks. Bye all, have a good day and/or night.
Thanks, Ata. I'll check it out.
Well done, Sprite, and 'bye.x
Lovely weather today. Pity all my chores are indoor ones.:-(
Congrats sprite! Later.
I'm still chained to my desk. Painting painting painting (and babbling between bits)
Hi, Lori. LOL at your icon.
: -)
27 left, and Lickety's is looking appealing, but every time I bail, I curse myself for missing some obvious ones. Ack ***holding off, for now***
dont do it lori!
Don't hold off? Okay..... :)
:)
Oh yuk! I've just watched the YouTube clip, Ata. I was going to have a couple of boiled eggs for breakfast. Gone right off eating, now.
lol sorry, jac. its just ... wrong
it was one of those train wreck programmes
It is, Ata. Very, very weird.
and I'm watching a video of a prog about David Icke at the moment. Equally weird
My daughter watched that 'Dr. Death' programme the other night. She said it was v. odd, too.
we really have some odd progs late at night
right, got to go.... see you all later. Might even have a spin down at dinas dinlle....
I've got lots of Escape to the Country and other house progs on my BBC player. I love nosing round the houses, especially those I can't afford.
'Bye, Mystery me.
bye mystery!
Later Mystery
I've just discovered www.quicksilverscreen.com its amazing. so many documentaries etc to watch
I've bookmarked that, Ata. Mind you, if it's streaming, I'd have to watch we don't exceed the steaming allowance agreement. I usually download progs on the BBC and the C4 players.
you can download them, I think
*looks* yes, you can watch it on the site or download
I'll check it out when we come back off holiday, Ata. I've got to clear the Sky+ box before we go away. LOL
Is Sky + really good?
18 left. ***sigh***
Sure is, Ata. You can record stuff and then whizz through the ads. You can pause live tv, which is very handy if you're not ready to watch something, or the 'phone goes in the middle of your programme. You can get programmes on demand.
sounds wonderful. I'm trying to persuade husband that we need it
Hello all. I've just given up at 19 Lori and am reaching for list
You can also transfer some things onto DVD (unless they've been scrambled, as some films are.)
Hi, Lynxxx.
Morning all.
G'd morning lynx!
Morning red.
Hi Red
G'd morning red
oooh, found some. 16 left
how am I meant to finish this painting without diet coke to provide caffeine?
LOL, I have 17 total...
That's a travesty Ata!
*Hands a bottle of diet coke to Ata.*
ty! my evil husband went off shopping and refused to get me diet coke
That's grounds for divorce in some countries.
it'll be grounds for divorce here too soon!
Why won't he let you have diet coke?
because its bad for me
Oh, I see.
Well, Ata, It is pretty unhealthy.
ie he's on a health kick and not drinking caffeine therefore I can't either
It rots your teeth.
But I'd say the caffiene is the least of its health problems.
well yes .... but I need to stay awake today, thus I require some caffeine
Ahee! greyed that stoopid h. 14 left. Feeling willpower fading.....
Lori needs a break.
Open a window, take deep breaths of air and drink plenty of water, Ata. Then stock up on herbal teas.
and I'm violently allergic to coffee, so I don't drink much caffeine in the first place
I am! but working 21 hours a day on this painting for the last 2 days to meet today;s deadline requires more than fresh air :P
I can see your point, Ata.
Ata, walk the dog near a convienience store and buy a 20 ounce bottle.
I think I will later if necessary
32 to go and I have to get going. BBL for other words. Good luck with the painting and not fainting, Ata!
lol ty! see you later!
Later Jac!
bye Jac
Oooh, greyed the o. Let the pigeons loose! 13 left ***pout***

You can buy the teabags, Lady. I could make my own, but I don't bother.

Let somone else get stung, I say! :-)
morning all! next house search starts in earnest today
LOL Jac, true.
hey dan
I had nettle soup in a restaurant in Seattle last fall - it was scrumptious
hi dan2bit!
Dunno, Lady. I'm taking it to help combat hot flushes.
aaahh Dan - did it fall through?
Hi dan.
oh... well then, I'll have to look into that.
hi dan
no, we finally have an offer on our current place, so its a good thing!
great then! Happy hunting! - what part of town? or are you not planning to stay in DC proper
good luck with the house hunting today
we are looking throughout the area, but trying to stay fairly close in
why are you moving, if it's in the same area?
hope you find exactly what you are looking for... at a steal of a price : )
tx kje! we've outgrown our townhouse, and with the market moving down, can afford to make the leap to a single-family home

Hi, Ata. I'm here on a tea break.

I'm midway so will take a break... going to the framer's market - yum - BBL
bye kje, hagd
Une's gone off to eat a bowel of Ch7/36s with strawberries.
ch7, kje!
bye kje hb
oooo lucky une!
kje - farmer's rather than framer's, I assume?
LOL - a bowl not a bowel. TEE HEE.
yes, farmer's would be tastier : )
So would a bowl...
LOL jac *poof*
lol jac
thanks Merk for a great video! Brought tears to my eyes,---just as when we watched the 4th of July fireworks in Berlin, Germany, in the 80's, when the wall was still up.
Off to sudoku
Hi and 'bye, inge.
what is the vid today?
Hello all.
I've missed the video for the past few days...does anyone know the URL for where lickety keeps the history of videos?
Hi Scrabbs!
http://tinyurl.com/4pcj4x
Today's vid.
Hi Scrabbs.
**checking out Jac's icon**
History url = http://tinyurl.com/3xjgw4
Cute, Jac!
Did it moove you?
he 6/27 please i cant find it
Jacula--I will be acquiring a female foster bunny later today, for a family departing an apartment and going to a hotel until they move into a house.
hi scrabs
That'll be fun, Scrabbs, so long as you don't get to attached to her.
*too
didn't know there was bunny foster care available... hmm
he 6,27 is when things are very busy for you
thanks i found it
thank you angel
Scrabbs - my daughter's fostering a guinea pig for someone soon.
yw
Our SPCA does have a foster bunny service--especially when a rescue is made of large numbers of bunnies. But this bunny belongs to a child of a friend of a friend and I was asked to help out. Because Callie died (3 wks ago today) I have a spare bedroom down here for Bunny Bijou.
which bunny of yours is in charge now?
I heard about Callie. My sympathies, Scrabbs.
i'm sorry scrabbler
I miss Callie very much and still "see" and "hear" her down here everyday. Tucker John is my biggest bunny, probably 10 lbs, and I let him come down here daily. Sebastian is too tiny to be down here as I fear I will step on him. Gandalf comes down too.
They have separate bedrooms but sniff one another at the doorway gates when loose.
lmao my cat is 6lbs
My cat's 12lbs. Not overweight, either. Just a big cat.
Tiny cat!
fireworks for me
yep, she's a mini-cat!
My friend has a cat that weighs 29 lbs and when she is on her back she cannot roll over!
Well done, angelina.
Yahoo Angelina! I took my Scrabble turns already.
29lbs! that really is *too* big for a cat!
my newly adopted cat (the one my daughter found wandering 3 months ago) is tiny... I thought she was a kitten - turns out she's about 3 years old
ty jac and scrab
What is her name, Natts?
will take my scrabble turns now
Sily is full weight and 2 years old now. I had to feed her up to get her from 4lb to 6lb. But her mum was a very very petite burmese, smaller than sily herself
bye and hagd all
Yes, Angelina, go get 30 or 40 points and keep pouncing.
lol
good morning everyone
My Kira was part Persian and very small.
Hi Flosey
we call her "Cassy"... she's all white, and I suggested "casa blanca" and the girls went with that
hi and bye flosey
Hello flosey.
flosey... hi!! how are you?
great thanks lady, and you?
very well, thanks.
aww Cassie and Cassy
A group of us tennis ladies are having a day at a local greenhouse owned by a friend's cousin. When we are done we will have a dessert party.

Morning, all.
Hi Bea
hi bea
How's the grid today?
It may be just that I'm sleep (and going back to bed, as it's 7:10 am on a Saturday), but I'm finding it quite challenging.
*sleepy
Go back to bed!
going... going!
see you later, babblefriends.
bye Lady, have a good sleep
Bye Natts. I woke up early then lingered in bed for a bit and snuggled with Bunny Sebastian.
Anybody seen evanonut lately?
She was here earlier in the week. I am going to e-mail her now.
Tell her we are thinking of her.
Hi
Hey, Herin.
OK, I sent that off. She and I were e-mailing a few wks ago as she had some medical questions.
Yes Please pass an a hug or a million for Nut to Scrabbler
How are you all?
I'm doing good.
And you?
stuffed. 9 hour delay at the airport and the bf nearly didn't get on board
Where did you go?
I hate airtravel!
He is flying to Singapore and the ? airline first gave as 2 taxi tickets home and there for today and tomorrow and get another flight. Suck it up to bad. But i snopped about and spotted someone else in the same position as and he had it sorted in under 15 min we had to get his travel agent and that infomation and 3 hours later and they put him on the 1205 flight out. We were so lucky that we met up with an 'interstate' traveler on the same cruise fight and got a hotel room and food for free 3 hours out of the airport regained my sanity. that and a free cab ride home
EPPS sorry i didn't realise that was so long
Sounds typical.
The first guy nearly stuffed it all. So happy we had a rest and food (even though i wasn't flying te he)
I hate air travel too--so many hassles.
I never made it back for my niece's wedding as the flight was delayed, connecting flight canceled, luggage lost...
Those kind of important things really hurt. They just don't get it. I have a sore jaw from grinding my teeth and a bitten lip in 2 places (top and bottom) so i wouldn't call the guy on obsequious little toad.
LOL!
Oh and one of the reps pulled the 'as you are aware the flight is canceled there was lots of 'huh' faces. It was a very nasty vibe. You have no idea how happy i was to see him go behind the passengers only door. Yes i miss him (so i cuddled his dressing gown) but after that i was just so happy to see him gone)
I'm proud of you. It does no good to get too loud about the situation. Usually it is not the fault of the people which you are dealing.
How long will he be gone?
Bea also they don't help you either. There was lots of bah huh mumble ziiiiip it (Dr Evil style) happening
2 weeks.
hello everyone!
Hey, Annie.
Herin, my daughter is flying out next week. I hope it all goes well for her as she is not a seasoned traveler.
15:30 (Fri) 12:53 (Sat) THis is the Chaos we walked into. Those times are when the planes were meant to go and when they did
HI Annie
Plus, I miss her like crazy and wouldn't be able to deal with it if she didn't make it.
Bea there has been industrial action due to maintenance. We were lucky. I did say to one of the staff i would hug you but i don't think that might be appropriate.
G'd morning again Babblers! Back to get my last 6 listfree, even if it drives me bonkers.
Morning, Lori.
Hi lori!
HI Lori
Hey Annie! Bea. ***Annir Bea, heh*** :)
Needless to say right now thank you for listening and keeping me more sane
My pleasure, Herin. Glad you feel better.
Can someone throw me a mini bone, and tell me if there's a 7 letter word in the r's?
no, lori
Lovely. Thank you! That actually helps a ton. Thanks again!
Very tired. Think ill probably cry tommorow
glad to help....and go! go! go!
herin, sleep is in order for you, you will feel better tomorrow but sometimes a good cry is a good release
I have just discovered a Dirty Harry Movie on tv the sleep may have to wait

Magnum is on. Big fan of Dirty Harry have been for as long as i can remember (yes my parent's let me watch it)

I'm sure that will be one of those clues that when I do find it, I'll say, "Oh, NOW I get it!" =)
Sounds like an Orange or a Car with my first thought
throw a ladder in there
ci7 - enemy of th eJedi (spelled wrong) + *** (nut's sister)
Question: Do you think that since the travel agent and staff busted their butts of to get as on the plane do you think a thank you is in order
heh got it!
thanks, herin!!!
and Atalante
Hi Atta
My first thought is that that is their job.
my missing 7. Thanks again for the nudge Annie. 5 torturous words left....
But we all like to be appreciated for a job well done.
This is a Saturday and she put off a meeting and her assistant was really helpful. Looking now for flowers and chocolates
LOL!
I think a card would suffice.
Looking now.

Hey, Dorens.

Good thing New Yorker's are a special breed Annie. :-)
annie, I remember, back in the '80s there was a guy dropping concrete blocks on pedestrians from windows and balconies . . . that was bad enough!!

where do you live in BC autumn?
Richmond (Vancouver) Nan. Are you in Kelowna?
yes
How's the bridge?
wow. I am at halfway. grabbing the list
go Stid!
all traffic on the new bridge for the first time today
is it running along beside the old bridge?
They're calling it "Bill's Bump"
I haven't been up there for a couple years now
yes, but the old bridge will be torn down -- they've already started scraping the asphalt off it
I think they have finally figured out a way to sink the pontoons somewhere in the middle of the lake without causing any environmental damage
I just looked at the pictures on the internet. I liked that old bridge. Made a cool sound as you drove over it.
very noisy, when you live on the lake though!
well, I need to get my lazy self going... back tonight to finish. (down to 46 at the moment)
thanks for all the clues! *poof*
bye stid
hi, again - nan, just saw your grandfather clock post- I love that song!
I know. Simple pleasures for one is a nuisance for another
It's like the skytrain here
I imagine so, autumn
hi everyone. I'm awake now (I think)
... or the airport
hi lady
Good morning Lady Natts. How are you today?
fuzzy, autumn... I logged on and saw chat about a bridge. Tried to make sense of it, and I'm not sure I did....
Fuzzy because it's morning, or fuzzy because you aren't feeling well?
Richmond, Kelowna... all places I'm familiar with
We have a new bridge across Okanagan Lake, Lady -- it opened to traffic in both directions for the first time today (it has been west bound traffic only for the last week).
Fuzzy because I just woke up again (woke up at 5:40 to take the dogs out, feed them, and make coffee - which I haven't had any of)
well, you better go pour yourself a cup....
oh! Thanks cybernan! I can see clearly now :)
Where are you in AB, Lady? --- we're heading over to Calgary and Lethbridge to see the kids next week
North, nan... I'm adjacent to Edmonton.
I think I'll be up your way in July, Nan. I'll try out the new bridge then. Let's meet for at least coffee!
Lady - are you in spruce?
sounds like a good idea, autumn -- remind me closer to the time -- cybernan@gmail.com
No, autumn... St. Albert
Thanks Nan. Added to my email list. Have spent some 'vacationing' time in Edmonton/Spruce/Vegerville over the years while doing the cross Canada friends and family visits
St Albert - I drive through on my way to Slave Lake, right?
on my way -- bye all :)
yes, autumn, you are likely to have done so.
later Nan
and when I say adjacent, I mean it. I can walk to Edmonton city limits from my house
whereas Spruce has some highway between
he 6/21 number two please I have the first one
Our tour is fairly consistent... Vancouver, Edmonton, Slave Lake, Spruce Grove, Yorkton SK, Winnipeg MB, then drive through the night and end up in Ottawa
I think I need to change that up one of these days and try the southern route and get the other members of the familiy
Quite the tour, autumn! We usually head west. Shushwap and/or Kelowna, the Island.... can't go much further
I will have to check with the others to see if they had decided on a weekend for us to meet in Victoria. I know Jilli and Stid have been talking about it.
jilli and flosey are both on salt spring, right? (we honeymooned there a few years ago)

WOOHOO Lindy!!!
thanks guys
May I ask what you were in for Nancy?
things are getting better...to make a long story short, I had an episode that resulted in a 6th nerve palsy to my already weakend left eye. Previously had macular hole surgery in the retina, detached retina in the same eye, cataract surgery. All this caused from a very serious fall way back in 2001. This latest challege gives double vision and they thought I had had a stroke. I have now obtained a prism to put in the left side of my glasses.. if I am lucky this may heal itself but if not, surgery in 6 months.
oh good luck with that Nancy, hopefully it will heal itself, wishing you all the best with it
best wishes Nancy
Thank God for medicine advances, the prism when worn, takes away the double vision which was making me instantly nauseous. Now, at least I can as they say "see straight". Hoping to go back to work on MOnday. Still taking it slow and easy. Thanks for the good wishes.
yvw nancy
I did learn some interesting things about the eye. I did not know previously that each eye has 12 different nerves and each one controls something different.
you learn something new everyday?
oops no ? lol

I take that as a yes?
no sc
Is the 3rd letter an F?
is the ge8 related to any of the other g words?
**playing 20 questions instead of asking for a clue**
no
I don't have ge8 yet.
ge is an extention of the 4 hursh compound word
could be counted as compound i should say
you're lucky that all 26 letters don't appear in the grid then, sc, lol
May I please have a clue now for the first en6?
The ge8/55 word is ge 4/6 plus ri 4/5 word Scrabbler
can i en6 you with some succulent strawberries?
en 6/21 is en plus a white grain but start with cross.

That or 6/21 word is or plus the ri 4/5 word torgone.
i am using babble expert which i guess it allows
if i were to go to babble.com it would be blocked
well try going to control panel, and choose add or remove programs and see if it is in the list
i checked there hurshy and its not listed
You need to reset your settings about allowed sites, probably.
Did you make any changes to your PC, Nanette? Any additions?
well if it isn't its own app then you should prolly mess with the settings within it like sc says
i have two de4, de5, de6, what do i miss?
nothing Scrabbler, i did my routine scans this morning and everything was fine
de7---remove the yard boundary
oh bother again, thanks sc
de 7 is around de-yard
this security center thing says i have to register it and it costs $50 .... no way i already have nortons
lol ruru !
what time was it when the elephant sat on the fe5?
I remember having this problem, Nanette, and having to reset what is allowed. You may have to check Windows security and Norton/McAfee, whichever you have.
Time to get a new fe5!!
:)
Did your Norton expire?
i'll try that scrabbler
Last fe6?

Is it dark chocolate, kje?
this is from Peet's - Toraja - and it is amazing

I get the coffee we roast at work, but I must admit, I like Peet's too. And I do like the Toraja!
LOLOL, kje. I only like the dark, and I really just nibble. BUT, put a loaf of fresh-baked bread in my vicinity and watch out, LOL
me too pam - fresh challah - deadly
howcome you guys always make me hungry??!!
LOl--indeed, kje, indeed
but only if made with honey
I do feel wired - I hope that really was the decaf I made...otherwise, will definitely be up at the flip
wish I were that discriminating
I was up last night--overwound from celtics, but not in a babbling way...
When i had hens, their eggs made the best challah!

en - the whole thing
I am well all! it was a nice day. Mother took me bday shopping so I have LOTS of new blouses. AND some sparkly maryjanes (shoes) to wear on my birthday. It's traditional in first grade to wear something spectacular on your bday.
en 6/18: I hope nyoiu finish the en**** grid MaMaWa.
Thanks and Im going to need help to finish this en**** grid LOL
It was my mom's birthday today. When is yours stid?
sounds like a WONDERFUL day Stid! and an early happy bday to you
next week, Min. I am the birthday QUEEN all the first week of June!!! *polishes tiara in preparation*
Happy Birthday
birthday queen! do you also dance?
happy birthday stid
thanks sk. it was wonderful. We got to talk about all kinds of things, "just us girls" and I bought us roasted nuts to eat with our lattes while we sat on a bench in the sun on the boardwalk... *sighs happily* very very nice.
LOL LBD! rofl...
What date? Icons should honor your b-day stidmama.
anyone want to throw me the second cH 6/30?
oh Min... I am not sure I want that information out in the void. *thinking*
ch 6/30:Will you have ch**** pie on your birthday stid
ch - Bing's are in season right now, as are Ranier's
happy day, week, and year stid!
thanks for that -- if I can keep the crows off that tree this year, might just have enough for a pie! *grin*
down to 40...
but of course, I shall remain TEN in my profile.
Sorry stid! Just wanted my icon to honor your b-day.
go stid go
of course... if you're gonna fake it, fake it BIG!
oops
Min, I talked with Tom, he says it's probably okay to tell you it's Monday. *bounce bounce* now we can have a BIG PARTY when I get home that afternoon!
*makes mental note to honor stid's bday w/icon Mon*
{{{{Min}}}} thanks.
DE 6 please?
de6/33: Hope don't get a de****ed gift for your bday.
Russian ballet dancers used to de6/33 to The West when The Cold War was on. But you're far too young to understand that clue, Stid, being only 10.
de - to leave a country and seek political asylum - say UUSR to US move
stid, i had to return a cd because there was a de**** in it.
USSR - oops
*trying to think about clues* thanks Min, kje and Jac!

Hi Lindrick. Grid was done hours ago. I'm just here for a nosey.

re 5- plural of end of colon
Hi, pam.
re+ half moon + do re me fa so la **
re 5 # 2 - same as previosu but change last vowel
The 2nd re5/12 is the same,ends w/a different vowel
okay Jac -- have the blog on "speed dial" just haven't been to visit in a few days.
Stid - you have the amount of garden (or, yard, as youcall it) that I can only dream of.
sk, what a clock says, take out the K's
That ti 6/24 word is what a clock might say skheiny.
Good clue, lbd.

thx so much lbd, never would have gotten it
Ty ty one and all got those re,s now
last FE 6 please?
earwigs on the dahlias and leaf curl on the nectarines by any chance, Stid? My sympathies.

Still looking for 8 more
wow. I got the GE 8 by myself...
fe 6/33 is fe plus vowel plus German personal pronoun
when using lickity...do i have 2 enter the word here and there?
fe+ so, la, **, do. + get me to the **ur** on time
fe 6/33 is fe plus cross plus German personal pronoun
fe - sounds like foot fe***** or boob fet**** - but change next to last letter
yes cks

Min -- you're NOT a troll???
herin, i'll gladly trade with you. i love fog!
Yah. I have put the heating on high. I think I am still not warm from yesterday being an idiot and not having a coat.
We all could have been, Min. You get a nose for them in the end, though.

Of course NOW you know I'm not a troll. But any icon that is a silhouette could be a troll. I like to give the benefit of the doubt first until I am proven wrong.
Pam i wasn't the one that was stuck on an airport or plane for 12 plus hours without smokes.
I'm wandering off again for zzz's and trying not to think about cold pizza. See you all next grid. xx

I was going to fix burritos for supper tonight, but by the time I woke up from a nap at 7:30 the fellows weren't interested in helping cook... so I think supper will be ice cream and hot chocolate.
I wonder if broccoli would make a good side dish?
I really think i should actually do this grid
it was a nice grid lady
stid, add some chips & dips for a fully rounded meal
Broccoli is evil
It wasn't as nice as yesterday's gird, but not too bad
good idea, monkey!
I like broccoli!!!!
Ok adjusts glasses and pokes at the grid again
but I won't serve any to you today lady
stid, think about the food pyramid.... must have all food groups covered!
chips for the grain category
Actually i was thinking those round sprout things blerk
herin , those are brussels sprouts
they're from Brussels evidently
they are erk even the dog wouldn't eat them when i had one as a kid
my mom told me when she was a little girl, she would take the brussels sprouts and hide them on a little ledge underneath the dining table
And were they found?
who knows
i don't like brussels sprouts either
but I suspect I just haven't had them prepared right... that was the secret to learning to like broccoli.
i like the ones called "baby brussels sprouts", they're really small
they are quite yummy
rofl, sounds like your mom and I are twins, monkey!
Still erk, my cat just ran off some where. I am going to have a g.f come over and we are going to run off some where in her convertible top down (even if it is cold)
aw shucks, stid, I was planning a brussels sprouts feast when you come to visit
well, Mother will be pleased, Jill! hi there! {{{{HUGS JILL}}}}
a brussels sprout is a leeeeeeetle tiny cabbage
Jillli
Hello jillibus! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
cabbage tastes WAY better than brussels sprouts...
I have also put in an unusual request to the b.f
actually the secret to brussels sprouts is that they should go through a frost before being picked, to get rid of the bitterness
for a spanking?
so I have heard Jill. but the only time I ever planted them they didn't live that long (durn deer)
oh monkey! you're bad!
LILI. NO. A Budist singing bowl.
teehee
Any way i would be spanking him if he liked it not the other way round. Please i am a Dom not a Sub
I just dropped in for a mo -- 20 to go but must have supper (late again!)
the bowls are nice.... make a nice ringing sound
