Morning sprite, do not be put off by the k's, they are pretty straightforward.
ok, 15 Ks? What a.... surprise.
well, the letter to my father is finished. Printed. Signed. In the envelope. Addressed. All it needs is a couple of stamps and a dunk in the mailbox.

*secretly adds another K to the grid which pushes the K word count to 58*
Yea sprite, 'yer k torture is over.
*erases 98 of mel's babble words so she must find them again*

20 8s and 37 7s, lol, I am going to love this grid.
once you find the endings it goes really fast
dont forget the 4 9 letter words
hubby just took THE envelope, will add the stamps and post the letter for me. I know you are probably all very bored by this, but it is a huge step and milestone for me. Please say YAY, well done.

Staggered to a halt when faced with the mo's so will do some work now. Have fun, everyone!

TY got them
make last forever, that is not so dumb is it?
Work hydra? Yuk. Laters!
Bye hydra, if I don't see you, enjoy the exhibition

no testing allowed this morning, sprite
hehehe, had to check if my chat had died. Go on gridding :)
afternoon all
ohoh, I have tested without permission...
hi Saddy :) How are you doing?
G'd morning Saddy
i was this close to finishing yesterdays grid.. with 30 minutes to spare... and i had a power outage
hey lori Sprite
i was sooooo mad!!!
how totally frustrating! Saddy, how is the baby and how are you?
hi Saddy, that would indeed be frustrating!
i am fine and so is the baby bump
hey nono
good! Counting down now, right?
yep almost there ... baby's due first week sept
but im hoping it decided to come a wee bit early...
:D
*Decodes
urrghhh*** decides
me and my darn typos
*hugs Saddy* The last bit can be tough. Just be gentle with yourself and save energy for the birth.
i don deserve to try and write without looking at the keyboard
of course you do. We are all good at solving puzzles. ;)
lol
yay, grayed the upper line
good going sprite
it is a lovely grid today. Am having so much fun here.
lol i love grids with lots of S's
it is, sprite, I found the k's surprisingly easy
and rewarding endings
so did I, Nanette, only needed help for one of them, a new word to me.
Hello again! Hi Sprite, alles ki4?
lol MonkeyG, yes, alles ki4 :D :D Letter done and ready for the mailbox, hubby is going to drop it in later today. I hurt my back this morning, guess it has taken more out of me than I realised. Nature telling me to take it real easy, right? How are you and how is Walter?
Hello Monkey
Poor your back! Take care of yourself! Congratulations on finishing the letter! I'm OK, rather frazzled: Walter is still unwell. He had a blood test yesterday. I took him to the doctor an dmentioned "my friend teh kinderarts" (Scrabbler) and said she thought it might be mononucleosis (ziekte van pfeifer). The doctor did a full exam and said that he does see things that could point to it and does not see things pointing to a bacterial infection, so we got the blood test. Harrowing!
Walter has forgiven me.
im going to dive into the grid for a bit... more chatting when i come up for air.. good luck everyone
darn, that would be nasty. But very good you caught it in the early stages. When will you get the results?
have fun, Saddy
hello MonkeyG. poor little Walter!
Friday. And I hope it is. If it is, then he's already in recovery and we know what is going on and he just needs rest. If it is NOT mono then we are dealing with a mystery, maybe tests, maybe antibiotics. So I just hope it's positive. It does really fit the symptoms.
ok, will keep my fingers crossed then. *hugs* to you both.
and what did he need to forgive you for? The bloodtest?
Thanks. He's having a good day today: he was up to a trip to the woods with the odg and a walk sown to the Overveen Albert Hein (they have teh Dora yoghurt). But now he's exhausted again. The doctor said just follow his cues, because his spleen's not enlarged. Yes, he needed to forgive me for holding him stillw hile they did the blood test an dtelling them to go ahead and do it. But he's a very understanding boy; he forgave me right away.
Hello all
good morning
may I please have help with the 9's
Hi Peri!
you did prepare him for that, I bet.
hi peri and joshua
Hi Peri & Josh
nice icon, joshua
peri - i have 3 of the 4 9's, and they're all plurals
thank you sprite, i thought it was neat
what do they start with please
Oh yes, I talked it through with him and let him know it would hurt but not as much as his innoculation a few months ago--she hit a nerve that time and his arm wasn't right for a week. After the test yesterday he did agree with me that it wasn't as bad as that shot. Hey Sprite, the butcher told me lard cannot be found anywhere anymore. I'm making carnitas, so I am trying to substitute for it. But for teh future, have you seen it anywhere? Reuzel, that is. Maybe the Turkish shops?
et9/54 mi9/60 ri9/60
hi everyone just come on so havent started yet
thanks cool
st9, ri9, et9, mi9 (don't have yet)
yes, you would have to find a toko that still sells it. It is very rare nowadays.
or what cool girl said
yw
hi cool!
Well dang. I'll try the place on Botermarkt, but not today.
thanks josh
hi sprite
you could ask a good chinese restaurant, preferably one with canton dishes. They might still use it and know where to get it from.
i'm slogging through the #*&!@^$@*& re words at the moment
Good idea! Thanks!
someone said earlier only 8 of them are "do again" re words, josh
may I have clues for some of the 8's please
rinse
OK, I need to go find a good carnitas recipe. Ideally it should simmer in the not-lard for hours. Have fun everyone; I'll be back on over lunch in a bit.
just got the last one, sprite. it was just what i saved for after i woke up
wtg josh!
MonkeyG - my mother used to make her own lard, maybe you could try that
ah, would love to know how, lynxxx.
I asked the butcher about it and he said he would have to order beef fat. But it IS a good idea... make it and freeze it. I'll tell him tomorrow to order some. You just melt it and strain it, right?
how was it that told us she had made her own ghee? I'd love to know how to do that as well.
For now i am using this thick frying marge called Croma and adding some of teh Croma-infused-with-jus.
Good Morning everyone..
I made teh ghee. Easy as pie. Well, much easier than pie.
I just had a quick search online and there is a few sites there. I know she used to boil and strain...but this is 50 years ago so the details are a bit fuzzy!
would you tell me how you do it, please?
I'll look it up this week. Thanks!
for the ghee, I mean
g'morn elder
hiya elder :)
Sprite !! :) and Lynnx and all of you.
Sure! Put a lot of unsalted butter on low heat. Leave it. Eventually the solids will separate. The butter will make sputtery noises. After maybe an hour it will be a nice amber color and all teh solids will have sunk to the bottom. Cool it somewhat, and strain it through cheesecloth. Klaar is Cees.
hello Elder
hello elder
thanks, MonkeyG! I have a lot of indian recipes I should use ghee for, but I never knew how to make it.
I've just brought back Jacula's icon. I saw someone complaining about re words so I looked at the list - and I counted 35 (thirty-five)!
No problem! It keeps forever, too. OK, really off with me.
Extremely late starting , difficult night and have recently just risen... so I greet the day slowly...
I know what the 9's start with but cannot see any of them or the 8's they come from. May I have some clues please
hello ExWren
you may need to refresh (that is not one of them)
hello Exwen and Nono.
et8/9 - think for-ev-er
I am josh, just can't see it, thanks
morning elder, evening lynxx, not sure what time for nono
ExWren, only 8 seem to be again words, perhaps that helps :)
EXwren, your Icon :) reflects I am sure , many other Babblers view on that.
et8 is british spelling and a verb
well that messes me up, thanks josh, will probably not be able to see it :(
it is a good clue, josh!
OMG, ust found the et8/9 thanks so much josh
*just*
never would have looked for a verb
hi Wren, it is early morning here.....6:31 am
orin
sorry,
not valid, elder. Badddd girl.
Sprite, not a good omen for the start of Babble LOL.
not only are there re words, there are pre words
one of them just made me tear out my hair for 10 minutes before finding it
morning all:)
just found the mi8/9 thanks
you will find many great words today, elder. It is a lovely grid.
hiya cross!
hi Cross
Sprite, that gives me hope. :)
Hello Cross..
good morning cross
may I have a clue for the ri8/9 please
Sprite, how are you today?.
morning all
Morning Pink:)
3 months without the first letter, peri
BBL
beautiful clue for that, sprite. i had no idea how to clue it myself
lots of words today i see,i better get at it:)
See you later Lynnx..
hello elder
thanks sprite, but not getting the clue
hi elder, letter to my father is done, printed, signed and ready to go in the mail. So yeah, ok, I guess. Tired, hollow, but feeling strong and clear. Hurt my back this morning, so I take it as a sign that I should take things very slow today :) How are you?
thanks josh :)
TY Sprite - just got that b4 I left
wtg lyn, and see you later. Have a good one!
Sprite, its done! just to post now, well done, I know you would have put your heart and soul into the letter, so you would feel exhausted. Well done you!!
et8 and 9 found all on my own
Sprite, take care of your back, experience tells me that.:)x
thanks elder :) It took a lot out of me, reliving the past, but I think it has been for the best. Hi pinkie, and wtg!
Me, just achey today, following lack of sleep due to the Bl**dy back!..
darn elder, not nice at all. I hope you can relax a bit today. It should be getting very hot and humid today, unpleasant, but not too bad for cramped muscles.
Sprite, it was for the best thing for you.. :::))) * Hugs*
we had a wild storm last night! came with 2 inch hail stones:/
woot cross, that is quite a storm.
I love storms, as long as my roof stays on :)
m
the hail was interesting,it looks exactly like a large water drop forzen at the exact moment it plops into another body of water
me too! Especially thunderstorms.
frozen
Oops. Good morning.
might be how they came into life :)
hi Gail, good morning to you
hi all... looks like 284 re's!... all ending in iers.
sort of on cue, Gail. A hail gale.
good morning Gail
hi mrP, it is a wonderful grid, you will love it.
howdy mr:)
hi mrp :)
two grids left before my first carpal tunnel surgery. How will I babble with one hand?
ah gail, we find ways to babble :)
slower, but with determination, Gail. And I wish you all the best for both surgery and recuperation.
Crumbs, hail stones that big ... My sister who lives in Colerado has hails like that, once her care was left outside and when storm was over her car was dented all over, it looked like the gods had played bombing on it...
one of those talking typer programs? Probably wouldn't recognize 1/2 the words, though.
omg, the first mo8
True, you do, don't you?
hi sprite, nono, cross et al :) best of luck gail, with the surgery
just monkeyed that one, sheeeeeeeeeeesh
Hello Mr P and Sharon..
Hi Eldoer

wooohooo Congrats Sprite!

yeah, it is a GOOD grid. Hardly any unwords. Great biggies. Interesting twists and sp5.
Sprite, can you pop in and out today just to help Me !!! LOL ...
ah , poor elder! bad day then... rest and take it very easy darling... I have to do that way often too at the moment. Very sobering
*giggle* You will do fine, elder, don't worry.
morning all....not hanging around..but thought would share something
I know, elder and mrP, I had to learn to pace myself too and still am. Lots of rest, don't overdo anything, and hey, we don't have a clue about what overdoing is, because WE think what WE do is normal :)
Sprite, I love the positives and confidence, you pass over to me ::) * hugs*
everyone heard how mc Cain used paris hilton to trash barak obama?
hi all, I have to be off. Be well and *hug*
http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/64ad5 36a6d
hillarious video
Mr P yes we have no choice, but to try and manage, pain and difficulties.
Hello carleekat..
Bye Sprite... :::))
hi carlee :) paris is a hat job if I have ever seen one!
hi there elder..i have no time to babble..but just saw that..thought would come on over and share
hi Carlee
oh..look at that vid mr prez...its a good one
hi nono:o)
they showed it on the news tonight!
they going to show here on cnn in 20 mins
Careelak.. thanks.. will view later today ...:)
there was a HUGE uproar about it here mr prez... its...so perfect....
hahaha! I'm just hot!
i KNOW.... it was....a good one
she so knows she is a hat job
I love it how you don't know if she says... "I will see you at the debate speeches" or, "I will see you at the debate bitches"... that is very funny
90% of all tv,movies, shows and stars should be buried alive in some scottish bog
the other 10% is not bad:)
i heard bitches
oh crosshair, you have my vote. LOL!
lol, cross.
i think humankind should of stopped with the tube radio sometimes;0
oh it sounded like she said bitches lol
it is so not subtle hey!?
ok..well.. I shared something funny...off I go..the yeast is making WAY too much wine these days
ciao carlee... enjoy your day!
good morning
now when you start making vodka give me a clall carlee:0
take care Carlee
call
how can I not mr prez...am bottling MY merlot today... and has aged So nicely....
good morning boobear
yuck..am NOT making vodka....have u smelled rotting potatoes?
biggest blunder was the magazines crosshair... the telescopic lense and lack of privacy laws. Made the lot of them into idiots to some degree, even some of them dead
hi Noni
you can make grain vodka as well
NOno
i'll stick with wine and beer cross...smells but smells clean
use turnips and beets as well:0
vodka... mmm, with brekkie juice
lol kk carlee;0
the best vodka is polish potato vodka...mmmm
if I want the wine stronger..i bump the alcohol content with extra sugar during fermentation....somethign I have done a few times...
how high can you get the content carlee?
and still taste good?....about 20% for a full bodied wine..and 12-15 for a lighter fruit wine
but as fruit wines are 7% and full bodied are 12-15 normally... that not bad
you ferment your own carlee? have seen the shop up the road with all the stuff to set that up, but wondered how well it works
Careelak, just viewed the Video, incredible !! it gives one hope for the future of the human race and and taking care of our Earth. !!
ever do down any dandelion wine? i had a taste of it once and it was amazing!
Wow, are we in safe hands !!
no..i have some customers making some..I plan on doing it next year...we have a park nearby and the no spraying for weed legislation coming down next year...
elder, all we can hope for the world is that once we are gone, the bees or the dolphins take over
elder do you know the story about how that vid came to be?
she got all offended that her image was used in a campaign for McCain... without her permission and all! She thinks she is a registered trademark
Cross, yes but there is a concern over bees,.. reducing in population.. Einstein once said that if bees were to die out the human race would vanish within 3/4 years...sobering thought.
I am not sure how offended she was... but mc cain likened obama to bigging one of 3 biggest celebrities in world..behind paris hilton and brittany spears
No Careelak, what is the story..
to BEING* one of 3 biggest
it was a typical " old fogey" just not being "with it" as if those 2 are biggest celebrities in world...so she is lampooning mc cain....
Crikey, thats the way NOT! to be elected I would have thought.
mc cain brought out this whole HUGE add with brittany and paris images....right after obama came back from europe...trying to use his celebrity... as a bad thing for the US
now..paris..or "someone" got paris...to do that... its bloody hillarious
Of course my knowledge of American politics is limited, but I would not vote for McCann if he was the last man standing !!
well... u have to remember US voted bush in 2ce....
they like a guy you could sit down and have a beer with and watch sunday football with
einstein was right
( not soccer....soccer too fast for him to follow)
imagine no polination:/
It is right that Obama meets Europe and other peoples /politicians. I remember way back .. an interview with Bush ( the younger ) he had no idea who the leaders of most other countries.. It was cringe worthy to see...
and FIREWORS!
yeap..i remember...
WTG NONO..w00tw00t
Well done Nono !!
Cross, no food no flowers.. nothing .. :(
ok off to the shower for me.... happy babbling everyone
Byee Nono..
fireworks here as well, nononanette just beat me to it
congrats nono and josh
( just an aside....I am so tired of being called "my friend" by mc cain )
WOOT WOOT for josh
Well done Josh ..!!

Sorry candy.. do not have tem..
the 13 year old basically said " sh**... I am going to sleep now..maybe when I wake up IT will be gone"

hello Mitch..:)
Hello elder, just lurking shilst holding on the phone
Unusual to see only Union Jacks in the log.
thanks, FMitch, didn't have the 8 and 9
FMitch.. I guess you could lurk, without having to hold the phone !:)
The Netherlands is represented by lunch-lurking...
thanks FMitch. My monkeys just need to work a little more before I jump for help! Right back to work bbl.
Hi JBV glad to help :)
Yes it is, this time of the day.
oops finally back to the phone.
hello Monkey.. popped your head up again..
Yup. Walter and I had salami sandwiches and are now having some popcorn while I glare at the grid.
Monkey.. :)
those salami sammiches are death for me:/ things burn like eating live coals;(
I am vegetarian, so would not have them. But I love the smell of Salami and other cooked meats..
ever eat those veggi dogs and burgers?
I'm a meat-leaning omnivore married to a dedicated carnivore an dmother of a starchy-things junkie.
As less as possible, as most makes taste awful.
for me,just lift the tail, wipe the bum,cut the horns off and slide it on the plate:)
Monkey .. : thats good you do not need a fussy child eater.
lol jk as i prefer fish and chicken:)
Cross LOL !!
I like it if you show it a lit match first.
ah Cross, you have such a way with words
my prose is silk to the ears;)
Oh he's pretty fussy, but he gets enough variety down him by the end of the day. If he could have rice every meal and nothing else he'd be thrilled though...
OOphs best clarify that sentence to Monkey ... child being a fussy eater not 'child eater' !!
i prefer rice over taters for dinner
my boy will eat anything as long as its not moving
nice fried rice,a few finly diced veggies add a scrambled egg and some bits of nice lean chicken breast..mmm
I'm making carnitas tonight.
OK, have to dispense raspberry juice and get back on cleaning up. Back next break! Have fun!
bye MG
Bye Monkey.

Oh, well done FMitch.. now to work...:)
But its good, that you can intersperse worklwith Babble .
It's OK I will still be lurking, am writing a proposal so I need thinking time (read that as giving clues time when needed). I am my own boss elder, so I fire myself on a regular basis!
LOL !! whats the proposal for ?.
New client has just given me their wish list of things they want done to their business (I am a very happy bunny today as a result)
Ah the phone is summoning me again TTFN

I take that as an complement :) is the grand Child your little one.
im twelve. i am the eldest gandkid.
*grandkid
Oh, right, too young to have child , sorry.:)
s'ok... but anymore, people MY age are having children... scary

Honey! Aw, sugar sugar. You are my candy girl... (sorry - can't get song out of my head). Good morning.
mornin judi
Fab icon, Madi. I can think of one of our supervisors who personifies red button.
hehe. ty
mornin all! anyone have the icon theme for today?
teas
teas is the theme?
yes
ok, thanks! *toddles off to find an icon*
i like green tea, but i dont wanna change my icon.
EveNadine.what do you mean by the icon theme?
I changed my icon to a fox (I know, nothing to do with tea) but I still sea Underdog. Go figure.
try refreshing.
found a good one off the bat -- icon all updated!
I've refreshed several times, to no avail.
judi -- every time i update my icon, i refresh in 2 places -- (1) th epage where you load the icon image and (2) my profile. it has worked 99% of the time for refreshing the image in all locations.
judi -- i can see your fox!
i see it judi. it's a cute one. I refreshed
Well, I'm glad someone can. Maybe if I log off and log back in again. Silly Babble.
i like your tea icon, eva.
thanks madi!
try emptying your cache and then refreshing, Judi
any hints for the i on the far left or the 2 E's on the bottom?
One of the e's on the bottom makes an Arabic ruler...
And hi for a minute!
the other is the plural of the es5/10
thanks monkey!
good morning all. there's something wrong with my grid. it says there are 41 M words. that has to be a mistake.
Oh, foo. I've tried everything, but I'm still seeing Underdog. I give up. Well, he's a cute little fox I found on-line. I'm thinking of using him for a logo for a little business I'm starting.
Can anyone clue the three sn words that are not 4 letters long?
thanks to you too inge2
i+double cons+double vowel; sounds like " i *** said the blind man"
thanks madi!
thanks madi!
welcome eva
welcome eva
Monkey: sn7: what you pour brandy into.
monkey -- SN5 is a plural of SN4 -- little cut
ah, thank you Judi!
judi -- dont forget to make it plural for the 8!
*shudders* i just noticed that there are *20* 8-letter words!
Thanks! Disn't see that other s there... Now brandy glass hunting... there it is... Thanks again!
et8?
madi was your clue for an is5? I didn't get it, though I thought your clue was clear
hints for the solo-R in the 2nd row?
Speaking of drinks, phantom: retsina
yes, eva needed it.
Et8: make something last forever and ever.
e + sea bird (te4) + "the three w*** men"
And don't forget to pluralise it!
I have that one, Eva, now need to figure out which it is to clue it...
inge, that I 5 word isn't the same vowel doubled at the end.
I assume is5 is the japanes immigrant (a Babblet)
ah, thank you Bernice! got it now
*japanese*
oh good
EvaNadine, I think the 3rd-person form of leisure-ing turned that R gray for me.
Eva, I think it's re7/28: the plural of one who re4/4s
ty for the 8
Wow. I just plowed through the K's like a mad womam. Yeah me!
ki7? ( not the smoochers)
Inge, I think that starts from the bottom right?
thats my last k word
yes, you're right Kris...
....Twenty eight letter words?!?! I can't do this! 119 in and have hit the list.
Ki7: your toosh.
the singular then: re6/18 must be the lone r in the middle (one who takes a nap)
Uni, they are not too hard mostly, because many are built on the superlative and comparative endings and plurals
That sounds right to me, Inge - I thought I was starting that from the bottom right, but I know something made the lone R go gray - that must be it!
i don't get the tooshie clue
any clues for the ki7,44 b4 "smacker"? please
Slang term for the arse, Madi.
I fall on my ki7 every time I go skating!
ohhhhh. *smacks forehead*
ki7--same 1st 3 as ki5 + reptile Gila Mon****
See, Madi? It was right under you the whole time.
ha youre punny :)
;-)
left column is gray
? Is this an american slang word?
yes good
Yes, goodwick. Although, I just found out, it's a town in Minnesota as well. Lucky them!
thanks must be why I can't get it !!!
ki7--same 1st 3 as ki5 + reptile Gila Mon****

Hi, herin!!!
how are you?
must get on with the day ,happy babbling all !
All is well on our side of the pond, and you?
about to go to bed
So, are you just starting the puzzle, or just finishing?
ahh, i love working from home -- not only am i more productive with my work, but i get so much done around the house too! so far ive already put away the clean dishes, loaded in the dirty ones, put in 2 loads of aundry, and swept + swiffered the kitchen + foyer floors...
I bhave 100 left so kind of plodding along
Dang, Eva. Stop trying to set a good example for the rest of us!
Done about half of that tonight Eva
i need to go. bbl
*poof*
only been outta bed for about 2 1/2 hours!
Oh, shut up, Eva! lol
Then you are way too productive it takes me that long to wake up
Seven o clock is not an unreasonable time to get out of bed . . .
Ack to that. I don't like anytime before 10am
judi -- they key is that the more housework i do, the less REAL work i hafta do...heh
Well, I can relate to that. Only, I hate housework. Hubby helps though. Bless his little heart. And he does a good job too.
God. I need to go start cleaning my kitchen. Damn you all--without this thread I might have avoided it for yet another day!
Sam did you think about cleaning?
I'm still thinking about it.
Ok good. Its the thought that counts. Well done now back to babbling.
Hee hee, I like the way you think, but no, I should go get work done. Also, I need to feed my dogs. They're eyeing me in a suspicious manner.
See y'all later. ::POOF::
Feed dogs come back to this?
since we both work, the cleaning only really ever gets done on the days we take off or work from home...heh
when i was working 50 hours a week there was a routine i did so the house was always clean

I was like that last night. It certainly is addictive !!
waiting for himself to return from a mates house.
Goodwick remember its only an Addiction if you admit you have a problem. Its a healthy hobby :D
anyone here or do i smell?
im sorta here herin
i'm here
Pink you may get a Yahoo chat request. My pc is dead and i had to reinstall Yahoo on the main pc. My one is not back yet so i don't know what is wrong. just turned off and refused to turn back on :(
hiya peeps
hi movie
Go to bed, herin. Maybe someone here will read you a bedtime story.
Judi i don't sleep until himself is home even if he were to turn up at 6am i would wait up. its just a me thing
trojan horse perhaps?
hey movie
anyone have a clue for the first mo8 please?
anyone found any 9's yet?
Understandable, herein. Better to Babble while worrying and waiting.
Pink Frodo Damnit knows. Mr Pc fixet guy is onto it. He is the b.fs work's I.T guy. How is Lili Pink
Movieman: I found one. The et9 (plural of the et8).
more damp, krys
Mo vowels plus if you came first with someone it would be this (plural)
she is good huni, very chatty
et8?
Lovely. Loved the new pic too
on facebook?
Um i think it was Yahoo Chat
i sooo cant remember lol
oh well.
thanks herin, that was a weird one.
The little one isn't so little anymore
my chef is here, must dash lovelies
Movie: Et8 sounds like the ship on Star Trek, only with a different consonant in the middle.
Thats ok i am working on the M's at the moment
Hey everyone!
ty judi
Hi wick and night night
Lord. I have 11 m's left. *grumble*
128 left here -- have to go and get some work done before I finish though
I really want insomnia!
OMG!!! There's just too many!!!
**slowly losing my mind...*
Hi! Join teh club. My brain melted down some time ago at 107 words. Now having aggravated my back doing housework I am takinga break and I realize the insanity was looming all the time...
I got 113 last night, which makes the other 170 seem not quite as daunting today. Still, it seems impossible.
just off to start the housework, monkey -- bbl
KO!
i just can't believe there's 20 8 letter words
fe 8 , 55 hint ???
It would help if I thought even some of the ones left ar ereal words.... Let's take teh es's. I ahve the 5 and 6 that are related chemical terms. The remaining 4 and 5 must be in Martian or something. Or I just need a good beating with a mullet.
Sorry, Marilyn, need it myself!
Proof that housework is really bad for you. Poor Monkey.
the fish, or the crap hairdo, monkey?
fe 8 - most like a plant with fronds
The last three so's are wacky too. Nevah hoid ovem.
ok, I'm at 180...I must be getting close...still missing too many 7s and 8s tho!
Could be worse. That was just WAY too much laundry to carry down the Steep Stairs at one time. Thank you for your pity, though, 'preciate it!
MM, whichever works!
Next time, Monkey... heave the laundry down first, then slide down the bannister. No back pain and lots more fun.
These stairs are too narrow for a banister. However, there is merit in this idea: the pile of laundry at the bottom could cushion my fall.
There you go. Laundry diving. A new olympic sport.
I'll get right on it!
that's what I'd do. Just push it down the stairs...it's already dirty...besides, kicking it would make you feel better after this crazy grid!
You speak wisely.
done it before.
We used to have a laundry chute in my parent's house. From bathroom to basement in one easy drop.
Nice. This is a small apartment, sadly, no such luxury. What I SHOULD have done, mind you, was see if Walter wanted to throw the opaundry down the stairs one item at a time. Time consuming, but not back-breaking and definitely litle-boy-entertaining.
LOL!
I'll keep that in mind next time I babysit!
Even better - put the empty basket at the bottom of the stairs so he has something to aim for. Extra points for getting the clothes in the basket!
Ooh, he'd like that! Especially if points mean prizes! Prizes like invisible cake or imaginary ice cream are among his very favorites.
cute!
I can't wait to have kids
He also manufactures "ice cream" out of any toys or other objects handya nd gives it to me to eat. All day.
Mmm. Play-doh ice cream. Lucky you.
he'll be needing an Easy Bake oven soon from the sounds of it
ki 7 44 first one please?
No, nothing so remotely edible. It's usually the dog's tennis ball on top of some megablocks on a toy plate.
There's always invisible tea/coffee in little dirty plastic cups as well...
Lynn: toosh, bum, arse, etc.
Yes, Krysten, probably. In fact the other day he came over and said, "Mama?" I said, "Yes?" He said, "When I grow up I will know how to make chocolate chip cookies."
tyvm
LOL
Oh yes, the invisible coffee is always waiting for me at daycare.
What a doll!
Awww, thanks. I think so but that's my job...
must be so nice...
my guy and I have been trying for months to get pregnant...seems like it'll never happen but I try to remain positive...
good morning everyone
It took us six months.
lucky...it's been 8 so far
Good evening Flosey.
afternoon flosey!
take a holiday Krysten - that's how I happen to have a grandson
they'd all but given up
Hang in there! Things I happened to do the week it worked: touched those silly fertility statues in the picture that goes around, for a giggle, and seriously threw my back out so I could not move... try superstition and immobility. Maybe that'll help...
did that...went to Mexico in April and Nashville this past weekend...
It sounds obvious, but the more you stress about it and "harder you try", the more difficult it will be. Your body reacts to stress or pressure in crazy ways. Not that I have ever tried to get pregnant, but I have helped raise a kidor two :)
Oh yeah, and my Columbian neighbor gave me a packet of herbs and the instructions to sit in water with them. So try that too-- get a "remedy" and have it aroiund meaning to try it.
Hi all.....could I please have a clue for the LAST ME6 word please?
LOL, Monkey. Did you throw your back out exercising - er - fertility rites?
My aunt tried for years...Drs cleared her and hubby as able, but it took them some 5 or 6 years and they never had another. 3 miscarriages afterthe first (and over a period of 10+ years) so they finally quit and just love their little girl.
We had an appointment with a gynecologist for the seven-month mark, and I was 6 weeks pregnant when we got there. He said that works every time.
actually, son didn't want children (or so he thought) as soon as wife was preg. he was so protective, caring, wow, talked and sang to him, and then was first to hold him - a bonding like I've never seen - they're the best of buddies
Hee hee, Judi! No, that would have been the FUN way.
this grid needs a g in the worst way
good morning ruru
Yes it do, ruru.
I thought the same thing ruru
morning everyone
A "g" would be good. The "ier", "ies", and "est" are all a bit ridiculous.
anyone have any 9s except the et9?
Not yet.
Does anyone ave a clue for me please?
sorry mm, it's the only one I have
morning flask
bugger
No. I was just about to ask for a clue for the St8/40 and St9/54. Pffth.
Hi flosey...
I have a lot of the 8';s but not one 9 yet.. probably time to hit the list
mi6/21, mi8/45, mi9/60 all build frm the mi4/5

ri5/16, r18/45, ri9/60 all build from the ri4/5
Oh fortheluva... St8: st5/10 + male offspring.

*sorry Flask!

hey ya'all
ugh. we had one of those a few years ago. no matter how many times you bathed it it would still stink
much of this grid is a mirror image of the other 1/2
or something like that
yes sharon and that is what is some maddening about it aaaaaaaah
and phantom words all over the place today
There are only like 12 individual letters out of the 25 on the board. You'd think there'd be fewer words.
maybe i am just tired from all my yard work yesterday....
so so so many suffixes...
*dance of glee*
heya hurshy
hi hurshy

morning every one. 21 p words?
21p?
I have ir 4 from the top row I does anyone know what the other one is?
Try 41 M words. that'll make your head spin.
one is plural for skinflints
if you mean 21 points
15 k words is enough for me
there aren't really that many m's... the grid's just broken. it's really 14.
the k's came easy i'm not seeing the p's
i have almost all the k's....only 9 of the p's
i am dancing because the IT help desk told me i couldn't do something, and i DID, so i feel brilliant and pleased.
good for you
good for you hirsh
Woo. Done with the F's. *does happy dance of my own*

hello all

ah - TY - did not know they were smelly - hmmm
I need a clue for the last fe6/27 please, just before the party
hiya stid

oh oh flosey! *worried mama look* are you still coughing?
flosey!!! what a horrible thing to say
have you seen the doc?
lol, am just tired of this cough waking me all night long
that was MY next question, kje!
he meets his lady after that horrible blond...."My name's dementia...it means insanity." "My name's fe****, it means to rot" From the Adams Family Values movie.
yes, kje, am on antibiotics
aaahh - never saw the movie
this is day 5 of meds
hang in there flosey - hopefully you'll feel better soon
but, have you asked the doc for help with the cough itself?
ET 8 please?
x-ray proven pneumonia, or just presumtive?
no stid, perhaps I should?
NVM! I found the ET...
et - think if foever - and extend from that - means to make last forever
went to ER, was my own Dr. on call, he said it's bronchial infection
all that typing for nothing stid
what are some of the e's in the first row?
yes, flosey, you need to be able to rest in order to heal, and if you are coughing then either you need to be coughing stuff UP (get an expectorant) or NOT coughing (suppressant) -- but the doc can tell you which type of medicine you need.
thanks though kje!
et 8 and 9 - sounds like a forever word
Okay, time for a break. Only R's, M's, and S's to tackle when I get back. *brain melts*
there is an er4 that means "mistakes"
later wickd
will call him today stid
{{{flosey}}} hope you feel better soon. coughing is no fun.
thanks stid, guess I expected the penicillin to do everything!

ty jess -- thought I'd tried that!
With all my fr 4/7 time today, I will not finish this mo 7/32 of a grid today. At the on 5/10 of babbling this morning, I knew I was in trouble! This grid is kicking my ki 7/44! It's making me mi 4/5 the smaller grids. I think they are ni 7/40. This grid is making me feel in 8/55 to those who are able to finish.I feel like such a pi 4/5 compared to them.I want to pound my fi 5/16 at my monkeys. They have made so many er 4/4 with this grid.I think I'll fr 4/7 over this grid until the flip. I fe 6/27 over the fact that I cannot finish this grid. Maybe I should get up on my fe4/7 go get me some fr 5/16 to make me feel better. All I can say is I cannot wait for the grid to re 5/10 itself at the flip! Now I'm done with my se 6/21.
229 done and still 55 left including 10 more 8s. good thing i don't have anything else to do today. oh wait, i do.
half way through the alphabet and still need 89 more!
you have too much fr 4/7 time, min!

st9 = back of the boat + my three ****
fnord is a word, sterio isn't LOL
ty for that clue ndan:))
i know fjord...

check dictionary.reference.com for fnord; it's in there
ki4, 5, 4, 5, 7, 4, 6, 7, 4, 5, 6, 4
and that gets me the st/9 as well;))
pl of what is flown
oh my gosh, the flying AND pl both had not got entered!
that leaves me one more K to get
personally i think it ought to be kissier
"my marty is kissier than any other cat"
agree. and fnord
thanks for the ks only had one left to find and got it now. Only 110 to go!
so8?

and also: hi!
i only discovered dr. who this year and i looooooove it
lol! i don't know - perhaps it is because i haven't found them!?!?
crosshair, you don't like Doctor who because you don't like the station than ran it? Augh!

Hello again Lynnxx:)
i probably won't wind up finishing, but i refuse to go to list with any less than half the grid done! :P
This one is hard - i actually feel as though there may be no hope for finishing - unless i just do nothing else
hurshy do you have plural of things in the sky
hang tough sean!
i do that too! Nothing less than half and preferably at least one from all tile stats
thanks cross :)
for the K, kazz? yes
i'll be going to the store to search for that soap tonight, beeze... the more i think about it the more i'm certain i've seen that soap before, but never bought it
on the bright side,im over 1200 points already:)
i definitely get the Alba lotion from the same section though...
ty hurshy
yes - you must get! I like the Alba too, but you will love Dr. Bronner - oh, and the label - a must read ;)
i love the glycerin soaps, but the wife is allergic to everything except dove soap products
that's odd, cross... i'm sure there are some other soaps she could use, but that may be the easiest to find that don't have whatever it is she's allergic too
let me know how you like - i hope they have the Tea tree for you - if not, they have Peppermint and Eucalyptus too, but usually if they have one they have all of the kinds
i bet a lot of the organic or natural soaps would work for her too, cross
Crossy - what about organics
I love Dr. Bronner!
Look up Dr. Bronner!! i have been pushing him for two days now!
i'll definitely share my opinion with you beeze :)
that soap thats 99/44 100 percent pure?? she is allergic to the other .44%:(
Me too Jellen! Tell them how his liquid soaps and other products are so rockin! and therapeutic to boot!
.56*
(i think beeze might secretly work for Dr. Bronner and her day job is to go to various chat rooms and hock his soap)
oooh, i thought that 99/44 100% was a song? lol
:P
I love that they're so versatile--take them traveling, do laundry with them...
beeze - i think that's "867-5309"
for palmolive i think:/
i know - you can do anything with them - they can be used as detergent even! weee hee!
my son knows dr bronner's son (or grandson) from school and he uses that stuff all the time
uh oh..here is the big sell;)
no - 99 and 44/100 percent pure love? some crazy country song i think? could be a commercial
Hi, Dorens!
hello again! *pulling out dr bronner's bottle from backpack* I need to refill my supply! LOL
wife says the 99/44 100% pure is the ivory soap bars
i promise i would not steer you wrong *taking back last chat about weird country song* this is great product! Jellen and Dorens are backing me...stid too!!
hi jellen. am rushing here cause have to get on a plane in a couple of hoursl.. terrible grid to have to rush thru

I am just newlywed - first time for both of us, but we are in our early thirties and waited to be sure...to be settled and content with who we are first - no children - and it is tough when you marry after you have been single so long because you are kind of set in your ways, but we are learning everyday!
no one told us it was easy! It is just a learning process everyday - and an adventure!
k this isnt finishing this grid,back i go.one day ill tell you how my wife saved my life from cancer and how i helped her see again;
okay - please do! My dad is living with cancer - i'll tell you about that too - i know you are a two time survivor and you take your newly sighted wife on romantic drives - i love it! We will finish and learn more another time!

I have a question to all the dog owners in the chat. Our dachshund mix, still alive, is getting a stronger antibiotic which I am to adminsiter with cottage cheese. Has anyone evef done that? Does that mean a teaspoon, a tablespoon , nalf a cup of cottage cheese? Just wrap the pill into the mush or what? Any help out there?
in 8 less superior or in 8 the bugs who do the taking over
2Xin8 in******ity complex and one who in6/27 #2
just a mouthfullof the cottage cheese
you can also wrap it in some cheese slices
Hi, all!
the cheese slice is better for ease of use
the cottage cheese is supposed to coat her stomach. Should I give her that before the pill then?
the cheese slice may work better, our dachshund always found the pill in ice cream
we had a dog ,we used to wrap it in a piece of bread,he would put the whole thing in his mouth, chew and swallow the bread, then spit the pill out;/
but the cheese slice is a bit sticky,he could never get around that:)
Hi, Jellen
oh, oh! I was successful with a piece of camenbert this morning. Maybe I dont need the cottage cheese.
camenbert?? now thats spoiling the dog indeed!
a spoonful of cottage cheese ahead of time couldn't hurt...
dogs love cheese in all its forms
is 6 clue?
OK, thanks for your opinions and advice. As you can tell the firt course of antibiotics did not stop her incontinence. More tomorrow.
though our one cat would sell its soul for kraft cheese slice
We give our dog a baby aspirin folded in a bit of American cheese every night.

Good idea, peri. We're also going to contact his internist for another referral closer to home.
that sounds good Jellen and insist that he is seen as soon as possible
was his surgery extensive? there is not a lot of extra meat on the hands
He lost part of the middle finger on his right hand...they also did a sentinel node biopsy.
the sentinel node is important information to the oncologist. still he should be seen sooner than september
sorry, i missed the start, what disease are we discussing?
My guy Tim has melanoma, nutty.
oy jellen! sorry, but you have a melanoma professional for a friend here you know.
Thanks, nutty!
and you should be seen sooner than september, and you should either be seen in houston or pittsburgh
and demand a pt/ct scan
Only the sentinel node was positive in the path report.
a PET scan is the scan of choice
pursuing things more aggressively might have bought us more time is all i can say to that
evening all
hey dandaman
I can see I need to be more aggressive because Tim won't be...the less he deals with doctors the better, in his mind.
be aggressive jellery, helps to avoid pesky things like regrets
mealoma is not a disease to be ignored. get on his tail and get him moving
tell those docs you want him treated the same as mccain
secret service detail, the works!
jell if you need an ear, mine is available
that makes twos of us jellen, and i can speak for my sis and make it three

It was all that odd thing called work in the way today.
hate it when work gets in teh way of my life
it was a pretty good day. I got a free cardiology consult too...
did you need one?
My heart rate has been 40 for a while. It concerned some people...
My QT was long, but the QT corrected was OK.
you are an athlete
we see it all the time in runners
I think it was the 40 that flipped them out. and the long QT of course looked like long QT syndrome, which is an issue.
yep - but can correct it for the slow rate and determine if truly abnormal
my dad has always had a HR in the 40s - now that he is getting older it has sped up a bit - 60 - the docs always freak
Yes, because I wasn;t really sure exactly how going on Propanolol was going to help my heart rate any!
But it was good to talk to the Cardiologist, she is super cool and smart.
my dad had an MI so he needed to be on a BB - but only tolerates a whiff
cool - at least you can stop worrying about it now that you know
I'm just glad its ok. No more nutritionist to bother about all that anymore, she will have to pick something else.
LOL - I'm sure she'll find something
she is a little bit of a person I dont like.
why do you go ?
I have such problems with eating, she's paired with the rest of the team who are all geniuses. I just get annoyed because shes all the "freedom with food" type of people...
But I really need it right now, the structure.
your training team?
Nah, more of an eating team. I really struggle with eating...would skip alot o fit if given a choice....its embarassing as an adult....

yes April how are yuou?
thanks Dan
herin, I am here but this is nearly one of the worst days I've known in a long time...cat has a urinary blockage and blood in the bladder. Spent the day at the vet after I found him hiding under a bush waiting to die. This is costing me into the thousands I don't have, my boyfriends wife (yes, we are polyamorous) had brain surgery today for a large tumor near her brain stem (though it isn't cancerous, yay!) and I am currently filling out legal separation papers with my husband. Ok, was that honest or what?
that is an unexpected legal separation/divorce.
OH sweetie. Hugs. It doesn't matter what your thing is that you do with your relationships family is important
I know, but others don't understand often different relationship dynamics other than monogamous.
I pet my fur monster for you? Speedy recovery for your special friend. Can the kitty get better?
yah, I think so. He hadn't reached deadly toxicity yet, but was well on his way. I guess cats die from this all the time.
i have five to go and they are all re's in a row, can anyone clue re621 & re7/32, following the horse gear?
and I guess the brain surgery went really well with no complications, other than they couldn't get it all. They aren't worried though. This tumor is sooo slow growing and they think in the future they can use far less invasive techniques to remove it.
hi, all. fireworks for me.
re 6: someones down fall is their de???? plural for the 7
Yah Angel
congrats angel
yay angel!
it's a later finish than usual...had to be at work early this morning.
good clue herin
thanks herin
April i am very open minded. I don't care what someone does in a relationship as long as everyone is truthful about it it.
how about the re 6 straight after?
actually got it
hey gang... how's everyone?
absolutely. That is probably the one hard and fast rule about polyamory-being ethical (everyone knows and is ok with it)

Later it's packing essentials and clothes, and then going shopping for what essentials we don't have lareadyto start us off.
sorry i scurried off like that. i had an emergency gift wrapping session. brother's b-day's tomorrow
Holiday on Saturday. I'll need one by then!
HB to bro
cool, madi
daniel is 4 now, and nick is almost one! quick update for the folks i haven't chatted with much: daniel will start preschool in september. he's less than thrilled, would rather stay home all day with me and play. nick is now walking, kissing (we need to work on closed mouth kisses though!) and giving daniel a run for his money.
oh, enjoy, jac, where yall headed?
LOL, Herin, I am doing now. But is more wine a good idea?
Jac never not a good idea
aaaahhh - feather - you will miss him when he goes to preschool
more wine is most always a good idea, jac, silyl question.
Feather they grow so quick
dont understand who the head nun is. not christian./ any help?
i'll be back to school too, teaching kindergarten. he'd just rather we both stayed home!
richard pr5, make feminine
OMG - I was just typing that same clue DC
ni 5?
he'll get there and meet new kids and love it feather
i must remember to tell my friend Simcha about my customer Symcha, speak of not Xian.
mkg - in an abbey, the head nun is called the Abbess, but the head nun you seek comes from a pr5/12.
ni + quatro, cinco, ***s
ohh, i just finished "world without end" by ken follet, speaking of that pr clue.
i LOVE pre-schoolers. I work in the pre school nursery at church. so cute and so very talkative!
hey, peeps

hey tyger
Hi, tyger.
WOOHOO April!!!! me too, it was kinda fun
Herin - you're right.
had just lurked for a mo, and saw the nun clue. the pr8 is the #2 nun. the abbot is the head, the pr5 is #2 - for femme, add the usual vowel + double cons ending :)
Feather this is when you need to teach him home time and out time talking this is such a great time to socialise them
Congratulations AprilD on fireworks! Hooray for you!
yeah, wd
hey, jac, howarya?
Featherbee, what gift would you suggest for grandson's first birthday?
need so 8 40 please.
Well, you're right until I fall over. Hmm! Not a good idea, got a parcel coming later that I need to be upright to receive.
how old bea?
it's funny, i think that for the first couple years, parents encourage kids to walk and talk... but for the next 16, they are constantly told to sit down and shut up!
duh....nvm....
I live for the good of my country, and my sons are all growing old, i hope that the next generation remembers old Rosin the Beau.
Tyger - getting ready to go on holiday to North Wales. How are you?
I learned that from being a big fan of Bro. Cadfael - for that matter, all of EP's writing
LOLOL feather
so-so, thx, jac. how long wil your trip be?
jacula ty for that super long string of clues. got most of them. didnt get the guiding wheel wrong or the robust saucy so j8 but got the rest.

still laughing - couldn't believe you asked that - LOL
dc i thought you were a kid. you have kids????????sons?
so8/40 is the most so 6/18 mkg. Do you have so 6/18
I dont have it
hmm, well right now nick is very into the cause/effect toys. he loves putting things into other things and taking them out. he also loves pushing buttons or switches. balls are another huge hit, anything that has a little ball for him to put into and see it come out another place is good. (shush kje!)
i was quoting an old song, mkg :) a slightly baudy one called Rosin the Beau
the so6 et sequelae are familiar in Brit-speak. I learned them from being an Essie Summers reader
lol, i obviously skipped right over one little important word in her post
Yes, Boogie likes those kinds of thing as well.
I don't have the SO 6
DC, your computer background is showing :D it's bawdy ;)
know rosin the beau well. hubby plays it on guitar.
babies that age at church play fetch. It's hilarious
OK - must get to bed... still trying to get off west coast time
add a diminuitive suffix to a male chiled, lady
herin, it's when a woman is plump & bosomy
night babble buds - see you tomorrow
oopsie, indeed so, tyger :">
there's a train that has balls that they can put into which is great. you can have it make the balls drop out, or go around in circles, or make the train move.
so 6/18 is so 4/4 plus two vowels. so 7/28 is more so of the so 6/18 and so 8/40 is the most so 6/18 herin.
so6 = male offspring (plural) + 2 vowels for 'for instance'.
g'night, kje, i did that adjustment last week myself
Yes, he has that already.
that word again shee
i had him going in circles around our kitchen/living room/dining room today chasing daniel's remote control dump truck
herin, a cheerful, motherly looking woman
Goodbye kje! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log!
I guess I need to go shopping.
ty got the so word.
jac, how long will you be going to Wales for?
Trains with balls? Now I'm confused? Am I still in Babble chat or have I accidentally strayed elsewhere by clicking that stupid damned side button on the new mouse my son gave me?
melissa and doug makes a nice stacker toy, it has 5 pegs and you put one green rectangle block onto the first peg, 2 purple circle blocks onto the next one, etc. he loves taking them off and shifting them around.
night kje!

it's sometimes used by novelists who want to avoid the "F-word"
es4 = the plural of the snake letter in the alphabet.

hehe, maybe i'm a bit niave too

DC - went away for a mo, and didn't see your resp on futz - you'd be amazed at some of the ways some SF writers dodge the 4-letters (thinking of their juvenile readers - or more likely, their parents)

small chickens cooked in oil is this the FR 6/27 or at least one fo them?
jilli, you changed the icon theme??
wick who do you want to win adn who do you think will win?
great icon, jill!
MLF. the FR 6/27 you are looking for is a plural.
I want Will to win...but he's gone. Now I want Katee to win and I think she will win. But I like all four.
a much more worthwhile one for sure, very good jilli
You MLF?
wick i am with you on that i want katee to win as well and i think she is going to
i wanted that blonde girl that was voted out at the last results show in the top 3 instead of this courtney
I thought either of them would be okay. But neither should win.

Which guy ML?
I think, since I will have marginally more time, that it will be a smallish grid. 90 words.

anywhere between 100 - 150 is fine
brown hair with bangs big teeth
130 is my guess
big smile which he smiled all the time
