I have kicked out the oxycodone in favour of the gabapentine. Not much help for sleeping, but I did not care much for using morphine-like drugs for the rest of my life. It's ok, rubyfoo, most of the time I can manage very well.

it is a pretty weird drug, rubyfoo. It works on the nervous system (is that the right word?). It is used for people with polyneuropathology (many sick nerves). But also for some cases of epilepsion.

for me, it doesn't do anything for my back or hips, but it works wonders for my pelvic bone, which was the worst pain for the last 14 years.
I'm going to suggest gabapentine for a friend with terrible neuropathy in her feet and legs; she can hardly walk any more

m, been battling with plantar fasc, achilles tendonitis and heel spurs for years .. multiple sprains and fractures, including a broken ankle this past january
plantar is really painful..
those first few minutes in the morning are torture

my doc wants to try one more type of treatment before trying to convince me to have surgery (i don't think i will)
(platelet rich plasma therapy)
I have a friend that did it, because she tore the heck out of hers. They all but rebuilt her foot. LONG recovery and very painful. I'm sure you'll exhaust all options first.

In 10 years of running, it's the first injury that's sidelined me. Been lucky up till now.
I don't have the torture anymore since I got the Danskos.
My friend had it on both, 2 years apart. The second one was after she did an Ironman.
and i think my right foot is pretty much 'heeled' hardy har.
so now, orthotics and neoprene compression wraps are all i use (and they seem to keep the swelling down which eases the pain)

One of my friends has the night sock, and I'm going to give that a go. Supposedly it's stretching out the fascia while you sleep, so when you get up it isn't all tightened up. Neuromuscular massage therapy has been the biggest help so far though.
My dad had skin from his hip grafted onto where his toes were cut off. In 1924!!!!! Pretty advanced stuff.

I had an OTJ injury to my left ankle in 2006. ended up having 3 surgeries and with the second one (the most complEx) they lengthened my Achilles tendon (a little TOO much) so I don't have that problem anymore. Of course, I can't be ON my foot more than 2 hours per day and that's a permanent restriction.

I got very depressed, gained weight (which is an issue with me, I do not do well with weight) and swam a lot. Now I am running slow, like 2 mins slower than I used to.
I'm going to do some biking I guess, and weights. Probably should get in my pool to water jog, but it sounds so BORING...
get someone to water jog with you, then you can gossip...otherwise I just swim, its essentially the same fitness and really works the core.
My core is a disaster...

my monitor screen died about 2 weeks ago (it was an old crt); so instead of buying a new screen for me; I searched the internet and ended up buying a 25 inch screen for him and I got his *old* 17 inch screen (about 2 yrs old). I was thrilled because I got his screen for $170; it came last evening and it's HUGE!

The nicest thing happened (in retrospect) over the past 2 weeks. My computer monitor died but searching online I found a 25" screen for him for a very decent price and it came yesterday. I got his 2 yr. old monitor now

my laptop only has 2 ports; but they are stacked so it's nearly impossible to plug in a second item. I found this really cheap (less than $10.00) triple port cable that is thin enough to have 2 plugged in at once. Voila! I have a 6 port laptop!

Min: sure, you can cheat on almost any Boggle game by using an online solver program in another browser tab.
There are even plug-in programs for sites like Yahoo's Word Racer where it will input the words for you.
