Morning Annie. I had a feeling we were in for one like this after the past three days.
hi again all :)
Hello Molly, I would have like a bigger grid on a Saturday
Hi again, mrp!
hi annie! **hugs**
*hugs* back
mrp, did you get any sleep?
sort of! i woke up late and went straight to football, had a great afternoon, just need to make sure I sleep tonight cause I have State Cup games in the morning :))
mrp, you sure are busy! I take it your team won.
I don't play annie, I referee!
one of three in the 60km district!
women refs that is
Oh, reffing, I see. Sorry, silly me.
not silly! is unusual to have a woman ref
It must be a great deal of fun.
good morning, babble friends
it sure is!! Hi trif!
it's primo's graduation from high school today. I have already warned him that I will cry a BUCKET so he should be ready
Hi Trif! Graduation Day! Exciting. What a wonderful day. Do you have your box of Kleenex with you?
oh congrats trif!!
mr p, I think you are just about the coolest person I know. you can do so many things, and do them so well. I really admire you!
thank you trif! you just made my life!! **hugs****hugs****hugs**
ooooh - name that proper noun! shakespearean evil queen sort
Trif, I opened you icon and could not see you and Primo...the pic is too large...all is saw was the bark of a tree, sort of
i have had the sh*****t 2011 so far and is nice to have some luv
I know, annie, it's been bugging me all week. I don't know how to resize it, nor do I know why it came out so huge - my other photos never do that
where are the er's ed's and es'....??? oh man!
I wish I could tell you but I dont know either
Trif, one of your words will land you in the PB but since it is Primo's grad day I will be kind....LOL
qu5
But the PB box is filled with cookies and cream and moccachinos
then, trif, off you go>>>>>>>>>
uhhh -oh dear. I have no idea which one it is. in other news, I changed my icon, and it seems to be more size appropriate
then, trif, off you go>>>>>>>>>
then, trif, off you go>>>>>>>>>
i should go back to limepuss.... luv my cat
oh -- the proper noun one. whoops, my bad. and the answer was "Hecate" btw
Trif, if you download irfanview, which is a free photo editing software, you can resize that picture. Or tell me who you are on Face Book and I will friend you, you can send it to me and I'll do it for you.
its okay molly - i just changed my icon - again - and now I really like the photo I have, and I will stick with it for today. But I really, really appreciate your offer!
what a crazy, small grid for a Saturday
hello ruby foo!
hi ruby!! **hugs**
mrp, what football do you ref? Do you mean footy, as in Aussie Rules, or that "other" game??
would have loved a 400 personally!
dofith, I ref soccer
Girls or guys?
I ref all ages, all divisions, all over the bloody place!
both juniors, men and women
Which gender?
ok. That's great!
it's very nice to see my friends here after yesterday's drama with Burt falling again
I am a FIFA ref... and luv it!
Fortunately, I learned a lot about bandages from the visiting nurse in the summer
oh ruby!! what happened hunny??
Sorry to hear that, ruby. Is he ok?
one of my english friends named her cat Fifa....
nice to meet you dofith! **hugs**
oh no, ruby! is bert okay?
lol trif!! very cool
he fell in the driveway, was covered in blood, so the point where I could barely see the wounds and there were many! He is very lucky not to have broken any bones but he is actually letting me drive today, rare for him
burt, sorry....
does the cat take bribes?
oh dear!! I hope he recovers soon sweetie!
ruby, I am so sorry to hear this news. You have already been through so much this year
Oh dear, have we not met before? I was absent from babble for months - sudoku became my daily brain exercise - but I'm back now - don't talk much, tho. (Hubby would not agree!)
good to meet you and glad you are here dofith!!
I was absent for some time from babble... but been here for years!!
Am one of the 'elders' now, I think
a very young "elder"
Yes, I see you here often. I left temporarily about the time we lost sweet NancyBoy
such a sad sad time
ruby, I don't know how old you Bert is. If he's older, gfrazes can take such a long time to heal.
I still find myself thinking of him, and often
Grazes, actually.
this has been a terrible almost two years for him.
these are worse than grazes, unfortunately
it started with the dog attack, is that right, ruby?
no, actually, he had a heart attack in Sept '09
far out! praying for all babble buddies with injuries!! plus!
Yes, me too, trif.Such a lovely guy, and such a sad story.
and he was taking his "health walks" when he was attacked by the dog
good morning, all -- Ruby, I'm soooo sorry to hear about your husband's fall :-(
luckily, I was home when he fell and could disinfect his wounds
what?? ruby, I am totally unaware of this situation... so so sorry!
Ruby, he's had a terrible run, hasn't he - and by extension, so have you!
hi une!!... haven't watched tennis yet! but can't wait!!
thank GOODNESS you were home at the time!!
thank you, all, for your concern. Poor old Burt
won't say a word, mrp . . . but yesterday was FABULOUS!!!!!!
carer's are often so badly affected... just not enough help
is the a in the far left corner fishy, please?
luv to Burt and best blessings for a quick recovery
gotta get dressed and zip on down the road to pick up 2 rescued lab pups :-) *poof*

mrp, you're a Victorian, are you not?
on ya une! see you soon
morning, all!
hello sue
hi usue **hugs**
ruby, glad to hear Burt is doing ok, and that he is being sensible about driving!
good morning, sue!
henna
no dofith, I am a New South Welshwoman.... from Sydney, Hornsby
whoops, sorry
hi, mrp and trif!
You mean the a in the far left column?
It's a wonder Burt still ventures out at all.
np, ruby, just starting here so I can use all the help I can get :-)
OK. I'm from WA
I'm still in a tizzy
ruby, I've always wanted to ask - I assume you're an American living nin France, right?
ac5---high card and ** **, see you later

yes, dofith, we retired here
that was for trif
thanks annie
thx, annie!

and wedding!!!
((Mom)) Is the weather holding up?
Happy Wedding Day Mom!
I told Trif to have a box of Kleenex at the ready
Have the hot line going to heaven to hold off any rain until after 8:00 p.m. So far so good, Annie. Low 90's for temps
((Molly)) thank you so much
Ooh, a graduation and a wedding? All at once? The same person?
Trif's graduation and Mom's son is getting married today
am wanting to visit Perth, just for the experience on the train from Syd to Perth
Hi Dofith. No, it is Trif's son graduating and our son being married
Prayers out for beautiful weather.
I want to see Australia; it looks so wonderful (and diverse) in the movies
And I have met some lovely people from perth on babble, so would like to visit them too... have already met them in sydney
thanks Molly
Oh, thank goodness! Well, best wishes to you both, Mom and trif.xx
thank you Dofith, Shay is marrying an absolutely delightful young lady. She is beautiful inside and out
that is lovely, mom, so you are gain ing a daughter!
Ruby, we'll do a house swap - I'll come to France. I'll even leave the hubby here to drive your Burt around. Deal??
I need the most amazing dessert right now... brb friends
yes Ruby, we are. They have dated for 5 years.
{{mrp}}
Will they be living near you?
the bloody qu*** is in the grid. But I didn't need her stinkin' hat. I did find gloves :-)
Bit late for dessert, mrp, isn't it? Must be about 10pm there.
not to far Annie, they will be living in Cincinnati OH but only takes about 15 minutes to get there
10 pm is too late for dessert????
it is never too late for dessert!
15 is the perfect distance...
I think so
dessert is a 24/7 thing
half of this silly little grid
(of which I'll never get finished)
go, ruby, go
good for you Ruby.
fat chance!
Must go - will leave you all eating, or dreaming of eating, mrp's dessert. Have a great day, esp. trif and Mon.
me too, ruby, and it's only 7 am!

Morning Kap

ca6 is reminiscent of the thing that used to get the signal to your TV, but no doubles consonant
congratulations!
yay, annie!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you, annie
thank you for the ca clues, Annie
*doubled
trying to clue the ta 7, tht one is hard to clue

wow Crossy. Keep the thunderstorms up your way today please
i love a good thunder storm..raw power, nature fury, feeling the hairs on your arm stand up ,electricity crackling through the air,the smell of ozone
:-)
hey all, h elp with a in first column pls
and the i above the f pls
howdy peri
NM found the A :)
in + man's name shortened ...Think Mr. Hale
and good morning Peri
and one of the i words, nbt and nbs
hi there Mom, when is the wedding?
in= if you get dirt in a cyt,you can in**** it
cut
Peri, tonight at 7:30
thanks Crossy
wow, you must be excited/exhausted?
Mom, all the best to you and your family today. It's an amazing thing to watch your son become a husband.
Excited but nervous
would love to see ome pictures, Mom.
sorry, have not kept up,who is getting married?
I think the exhaustion will hit tomorrow
how old is your son, Mom?
Peri, I will see to it.
Shay is 26, will be 27 in September
Best wishes to all of you Mom
Whitney is 25 will be 26 in November
thank you Peri, we are truly blessed to have her in the family
going for a walk, see you all later. have fun at the wedding Mom
bye bye Peri, have a good walk. Thank you so much.
i am guessing by all that, that it is your son getting married...
He is Crossy
congrats mom
thank you so much.
!!~~~Fireworks!!!~~ Any clues needed
yes- clue that long ta again- I didn't get Molly's clue. please.
ok ...
mom,check out this wedding invitation.....
http://www.sugarscientist.com/2007/11/ im-two-bit-tramp.html
ta + I have had **ough of your antics, behave! + singular person + vowel
and add latin ending for the 7
and I suck at cluing
but I hope you get it from that
ty.
got them both , thank you.
Crossy, that is a hoot
I am glad, Kap.
ty mom
you're welcome Crossy and Kap
anything else?
btw..it is usually ruled that when a engagement fails, the ring goes back..it is not a crackerjack prise for the ex bride to be lol
prize
exactly Crossy, but after the marriage it is hers to keep
indeed
well she needs something for putting up with the guy lol
there was a letter in Dear Abby about that exact thing this morning
ugh..you reminded me,i soon have to shop for a 20th anerversary band..sigh..any more rocks on that woman of mines ring finger and she is goung to have to get plastic surgery and extend it a inch or 2 lol
the mother of the son wrote that her son is getting divorced after only 4 years of marriage. The bride was given a family heirloom engagement ring and wedding band. Now the mother wants it back
Dear Abby is answering from the Great Beyond? Now that's advice I would take!
Dear Abby more or less told her sorry about your luck, but you could offer to buy it back from her. But she is not obligated
it is her daughter kaplan i believe
Dear Abby is still living, it is Ann Landers that is dead
(oh)
ahh i stand corrected
but like Crossy said, her daughter has been writing it since the late 80's
i was half right..whee
no Crossy you are correct Crossy, the actual Dear Abby lives in Minnesota and suffers from Alzheimers
so Elegant gets a new band for 20 years of marriage?
I sit corrected.
sad finale to a great lady
she does mom
ah Kap, you are fine.
wow, I have been wearing the same one for the last 28 years. Must speak to sweetie about that
after putting up with me for 20 years,it is the least i can do;0
And you are in the PB , Mom.
I would imagine you are a prince, Crossy
so I am. Maybe they can do my hair while I am sitting in there
the rule of thumb in our family history is the lady get a matching accent band to go with her engagement and wedding band every ten years
Can you see the fireworks from the PB?
my godmother for ecxample has her engagement ring, her wedding band and 4!! anniversary bands
she was blessed with long fingers..
that is neat Crossy
I can, Kap. Do you have them?
No- I have 9 left.
anything I can do to help before I leave?
no ty mom
Nah- I'll be back later.
Ok Crossy, have a great day. See you tomorrow
Alrighty. Have a good day Kap. See you tomorrow
Bye everyone
Ugh...I knew this would happen! Small Saturday grid!
indeed car:(
Clue for the lone Upper H please?
NM! Just found it! NBT!
and now it is time for crossy,s tidbit of the day!
While its popularity in America is fairly recent, margarine dates back to 1860s France, when Emperor Louis Napoleon III offered a prize to anyone who could design a cheap butter substitute.
Really!?!?
I honestly thought it was an American thing.

the rain is thundering down so hard now it is bouncing up off the road and we have a river going down the yellow line

sounds wonderful, cos!!
em...sounds good cos!
wow ive driven in that kind of rain.. scary
Since I am not a pepper lover, I wrap scallops in bacon and grill them. Good stuff.
molly -- my MIL does that for all holidays!
bacon!!
but she broils them, not bake. as it is too cold to grill in december
They are good that way too Cos. A very tasty appetizer.
lol,we bbq at 20 below..hell with the snow and cold
never tried bacon on jalapenos, sounds intriguing (have had lots of variations on jalapeno poppers but not that one)
Sounds wonderful, molly. I think I'm going to have to fire up the grill this evening.
Sue2 ... yeah ... but she's thinking about it for 2012 ... she'sworking two jobs managing a dance company and a theatre company ... and she's trying to pad her resume ... and put another year's pay in the bank ...

yup ... french sounding ...
thanks cos
aha, got it! thanks dos
ooh cos and dos.... i like that! :P
ta6 clue?
the famous french circus
circus of the sun that is
i thought that was the ci6
crossy ... they're from montreal
It is the 6
The ci6 I meant
ta6 - like a woman's name with an extra vowel
Ta 6 is an anagram of not coffee + a her*** is an abdominal rupture
*thinking of a womans name*
Add another vowel for the 7
its not taniae.
Anagram of iced ***
move that last vowel around, cosdem
thanks dan and molly
i know doseffing..when we speak of french we speak of quebec..not pariesians lol
Montreal French is quite different from Pariesien? n'est pas
as in "hey look at that french guy!!" we know it is a fella from quebec and not france
it is,but not so that we care much here
We are watching the Russian version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire"
for us(other that old quebec city) quebec is a place to drive through really fast and in one drive on your way to the east coast;)
it's not that different ... it's more a matter of accent ... speed ... and colloquialisms ... and nationalistic french survivalist pride ... ... you can't say ... le weekend or le hot dog or le Big Mac in Quebec without the language police coming down on you ... my impression is the parisienne's don't really care ...
fireworks
yeah cos
thats our problem, the language police and them trying to ram it down our throats
they are now going on about how any new judges have to speak both languages..what crap.we will lose lots of good judges, let them use a translator if needed
hi bichon, dos, dan, molly et al **hugs**
being from Toronto I can't disagree with too much ... I think french is the eighth or ninth language in Toronto ... and we don't have too many chinese or italian or hindustani or portuguese speaking judges ...
Hi Mr. P, you have a new picture?
it would be more use to have the judges speak italian as a second language round here lol
sure do...! need to change back to lime cat
yes how will anyone know who you are
bbs all... lickety has had his dessert and now is asking me out for a cuddle.... back soon
leslie!!! **hugs** long time no see hunny bbs
:) i understand cuddles are high priority
the highest

hi again all, back with breakfast :-)
aw shoot, i thought i was doing well! ;)

hahaha
and yay, kap!!!!!
Now what? Can I have yesterday's grid back?
that's why I'm in no rush to finish, kap!
can I have the points for the lone A?
I think it would be a great feature in New Babble (if we ever see it) to leave the big grids up for longer than 24 hours. While still posting a new one every day. The stats watchers probably wouldn't like that though.
ac 5/12 2 Bit
got it Molly tx
stats schmats, I say.
ANY CLUE for the ac 5?
nm got it. sorry
hi, mkg!
and hi, dan!
ah, there's that wall. at 10 left.

I did finish yesterday but didn't finish either of the two previous days...
I can barely remember yesterday's grid, just know it was big and juicy
Bonjour ruby
bonjour bichon. Are you in St. Petersburg (Leningrad) yet?
Yes, we arrived here yesterday. We had a city tour with our personal guide Masha and today she took us to the Hermitage and to St. Isaac's cathedral
ruby, is my icon a dog or a Russian flag?
it is very small, but I think it's a dog.....
what a wonderful trip!!!!
hmm, wonder why I can't change it
I see the flag, bichon (even after refreshing)
tomorrow is our last day here on our trip :-(
the Hermitage must have been wonderful!!!!
you do see the flag sue or not?
The Hermitage is beyond wonderful
what's your route home, bichon? Do you fly directly out of St. Petersburg?
There is nothing like the Hermitage
I do see the flag, bichon.
I see a flag
Yeah, I wonder why I don't?
I keep closing and opening Babble
9 left but I have to make dinner for the troups
I do see the flag is regular Babble, but not Beta
bye, ruby!
I'm on regular babble too, bichon; let me check expert
I looked in your profile, bichon, and found the flag but in the chog icon, it's the little dog
how do you play babble on such a trip?
ok, in expert I see the dog
Bizarre, I've tried loading the flag several times
the Russian flag is like my flag, but sideways lol
I brought the laptop and have wifi in the room. We need to chill sometimes after a long day on our feet.
I'm seeing a flag, bichon
true ruby
I see the flag here.
I see the flag in your profile, bichon
Bich, try closing your whole browser and reopening
I have tried everything Molly, it works in regular Babble, but not in expert.
I see the same thing, bichon, flag in regular babble and the dog in expert

Sue, I tried fanta...and nehi
it also doesn't take fannie or teenie :-(
hello all ... excuse please, but what is expert babble?
hi, mongie! Babble expert is a program you can download to your computer - it gives you lots of extras, like a list of clues on the side and active transferring between clues and the puzzle.
Link to download it is in my profile.
Ooooh ... thanks, sue!
Overuse of the "ae" in this grid
Will have to check it out later. Hubby and I are running some errands, and he is about ready. Just checked in to see if I could find a couple of words while waiting. Enjoy the weekend!
Phantom: quantophrenia
figures, doesn't it? the day after I finish student teaching it's a teensy grid! (((Hugs all, esp BR)))
Hello, stid. Did you enjoy student teaching?
YES. well, sometimes. A lot more this last week. Was sad that just as I "hit my stride" I was leaving, mentioned it to the cooperating teacher and she invited me to keep teaching next week! So I accepted, will be there in the mornings. :-D
Hope you had a nice birthday Stid. Lots of people here were sending you good wishes.
And in the afternoons, will go to the other end of the school and help in the 6th grade.
thanks Molly -- I don't actually celebrate birthdays, but it was a lovely day this past week.
Oh sorry. Didn't know you don't celebrate.
no worries. I just sort of hit a moment in the last few years and realized that each day I am alive is celebration enough. ((hugs))
back for the last few:)
CROSS!!!! about time. where's my celebratory bacon breakfast??? I FINISHED!!!!!
Now that the easy part is over, stid, do you have a job and so you can get serious about it?
(not the grid, the grad!)
yaa for stidmama!!! i am making you up some blt,s now
rofl BR! no, no job yet. actually planning on substituting for a few months starting in Sept and then looking for a job when I have some positive references for the grades I want to teach.
mmmm. cross, you're a doll!
also, I really need some downtime. No time off for three years gets a bit tiresome. My house and yard are in serious need of attention.
i just happed to have bout a pound or applewood smoked bacon
You will do well, stid ... no doubt about it
of course she will do well
thanks BR. enough about me. I hope you are well? did you get flooded? I have been so worried about my friends back there. floods, tornados... so awful!
The sandbags and dikes are being taken down. The Missouri is still a problem .... show know how much of a problem soon. Tornado touched down here four days ago but nothing major happened.
oh my. ***wraps BR in bubble wrap, and puts him in a safe room in an ark...*** stay safe, please?
There is so much water around we have ducks and geese here a hiatus

my phone is the same way (plus it does a lot of autocorrecting in ways that are sometimes very strange)
But the 10 ich tablet renders babble perfectly
nice :-) that, my phone does not do
Have you had a look at DamnYouAutoCorrect, sue?
I have, helen, it is a hoot!
Can chit chat and see the grid just fine, plus ithas akeyboard docking station that gives it a total of 16 hours of battery life
VERY nice, crossy.
My children introduced me to all the Cheezburger sites - I don't visit all of them, but the ones I do have added significantly to my "casual time" online!
FIREWORKS! - what kind of tablet is it crossey?
It is an acer eee transformer tablet
Thanks - we're looking at getting one, and I was feeling overwhelmed. I'll make sure we look at that one.
Good morning, does anyone know how you email Dr. God?

Must go prepare to face the rain! Good luck all.
I did a ton of research helen, and this one won hands down over the i pad

Hi Ruby, how is your husband feeling today?
antae
whoops, sorry
Brilliant! Thank you
he is having tyrouble walking, did something to his hip.
and he is bleeding through the bandages :(
That is a shame. It seems falls for people in their 80's almost always involve hip injury
6
Ruby does he have blood clotting issue? It seems the bleeding should have stopped by now.
he is very lucky that it's not broken
Issue

Hi TO. haven't seen you in a while.
oops
oh good then i dont hve to leave?
ok, I am going to reboot my computer, which is acting like it needs it, and then I am going to go dunk my head in water or something, as it is 96 degrees here. bah.
ok, small grid, nobody here? I have finished so am going to do a little work around the house. Temp is down to 90 and thunderstorms are approaching - I can hardly wait!!!
Uusue, are you still here? I have a question for you.
*Dusts, sweeps and cleans out the PB. Re-stocks the bar and snack shelves. Places fresh chocolate in the satin lined chocolate box. Drains and re-treats the hot tub. All is well. *
hi, chic, what's up?
Hi I read your profile and I wondered if you had a pinto horse in the 60's and kept him at heck' s stables?
hi chic, no, I have never been a horse person, sorry! My sister took riding lessons, probably in the late 60s, but never had her own horse.
Oh ok. I thought you were someone I once knew from Closter, Nj.
no, I lived in Bernardsville in the 60s. Oh, well!
Wow. The clues had added up and the fact that you met with doren. You can ignore my friend request on fb if you wish... Unless you like to play lex...
Well, I was a teenager in NJ in the 1960s, so good guess! I think I already accepted your friend request; don't play lex at the moment but who knows?
anyway, I am off again, will stop back in later!
Nice chatting with you I lurk a lot.
Greetings babblers ... tiny grid today!
Hello. Just starting with hopes of finishing this grid.
My first time.....notvreally getting it only 14 words
And that ain't my real name
Welcome Concepta, it becomes easier over time.
Hi Concepta ... origami isn't my real name either :-)
Ha well it's nicer than mine
Aerate
Who wants to tell Concepta about the penalty box?
Sorry wrong box
Concepta ... the tiles used to form words must be touching each other and each tile can only be used once in a single word ... like boggle
clue for the ci6?
nm
That ci 6/30 word is Ci**** de Soleil lbdawger and hello
Hi to my fellow babblers! How's everyone doing today?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
finito. guess i have to go do something constructive now. Hi min.
Congratulations lbdawger on fireworks! Good for you
Goodbye lbdawger!Maybe I'll see you later in the chog
Hi Min.
Hello origami! How are you doing? Did you finish grid?
28 left ... nasty little thing!
yay, lbd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and hi, min and origami!
did anyone clue the ta6?
ta + vowel + consonant + 2 vowels; 1st three letters spell a drink that isn't coffee if you swap the vowels (crappy clue but it is a weird word)
thx! i think that it the brit spelling of te5/10?
ah, could very well be.
and it has the same plural form.
Hello VAgirl! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
Hello uusue2! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I've accomplished the fe4/7 of finishing grid, so here is a story of clues. I was very busy and on my fe 4/7 most of the day in the he 4/5 of the sunshine. I made my garden look ne4/4 by pulling up weeds. My garden seems to have this in 6/8 ability to grow weeds right after I plant flowers. Then the weeds in6/30 flowers because it gives the flowers less room to grow. After weeding my garden, I sq5/16ed my garden with some water since it has not rained in awhile. I am going to call my te4/4age ni 5/10 An 4/4. She wants to tell me about her performance in Ci 6/30 de Soleil. Then I am going to go feed my dog some chicken and ri 4/5. He has not ea 5/10 dinner yet. Then I am going to make burgers&ta4/4r tots for my dinner. Then I'm going to go watch The King of Qu5/16. I hope you all have a fi 4/7 evening. I may be back later on to help with clues
ty - these t's are icky
hi, min! I am very hot but otherwise fine :-)
Well lucky you uusue2! The PB has air conditioning so you will be just fi 4/7 there.
ha - didn't notice that. Perhaps I should type in a few more grid words so I can stay there longer :-)
does the te5/12 start from the top or bottom t?
bottom, VA
ty
thanks for the story min!
I think it starts w/the top T. Go down diagonally, left and then up VAgirl. I will give another clue if you need
Ack Sue! Over 90 degrees and no air conditioning?
yw origami
well, I have air conditioning but the electricity is really expensive so I am avoiding it as long as possible
You are welcome for the story origami. Hope you got more words from it.Had to list after getting 35 words
you are right, min, it does come from the top t. Sorry, VA!!!!!!!!!!! obviously my brain is addled by the he**.
Once I listed I got down to 4 words left.List helps out
i will need another clue!
Thanks for the te5 clue, Minver! Fireworks :D
i have 4 left!
We have not had a normal spring in CA Sacramento Valley ... usually in the 80's and 90's by now. It's raining and about 60 here now.
A te5/12 word is anagram of the ta 5/12 word VAgirl.
Go VAgirl go!
Congratulations Roxbi on your fireworks! Good for U!
yay, roxbi!!!!!!!!!!
Thankyou :)
Congrats Roxbi!
first four letters of te5 are the last four of archi**** (the guys that design buildings)
I see that you are a newcomer to babble to congrats on upgrading to pro right away Roxbi. Hooray for you
ty!
I think this is my fourth lots of fireworks, maybe... this game is so fun and addictive that I felt I should pay for it :P
leaving with 3 words left!
Goodbye VAgirl! I hope you come back for your last 3.
any clues out there for the fa 5/16?
Fa + red bull is an **ergy drink + vowel
did that help, origami?
fa 5/16 is matador's final series of passes with sword and cape before the kill. Put definition into Reverse Dictionary and it is the first word on the list origami.
Hi BerniceQ! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Hello everybody. Hey Min :-) And hello to the new Babblers. Its lovely to 'meet' you :-)
Hello Soodlebum! How are you doing? Welcome to grid!
Thanks Bernice & Min ... got it!
Thank you Min. I am well :-) I may even have a hope of fireworks in this little grid!
How many words do you have left? There is a story of clues in the profile if you need it later on Soodlebum.
yw origami
Aw, thanks MIn. I have 23 to go, but I will slog on for another while!! But thank you for your help :-)

Popeye is the theme for sunday I think.
cute popeye pic, red!
Oh its done then Stid, uness you have some sort of library fine you forgot.
nope, no fines, no outstanding work (that I have been told of). so I am pretty confident it's going to happen. my subconscious though... you shoulda been there for my dreams! LOL
dreams! sometimes they are great but mostly they are these odd twisted things.
just in case anyone has not noted, the volcano is here...
odd, yes, twisted beyond a doubt! what was the head of the department doing on a ferry boat in the middle of the meditteranean anyway? *grin* not my fault it was "man overboard" *innocent grad student look*

Hello jesdraggon! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
i'm well, minver. sitting at work while my dad and bf replace all the doorknobs and locks on the clinic.
how're you?
You're at work? It is after 10:00 at night in New York
just past 7pm here
why are you replacing all the knobs and locks, Jes?
have been here since 8am
because they are all crap. the previous owner thought it would be a good idea to save some money by having all the doors just done with commercial/residential twist knobs.
ahh, need for better security, good idea!
we had one that wouldn't open at all, one that would only open if you twisted just right and held it up, one that wouldn't close unless you held the knob while you closed it (that one also wouldn't unlock with the key), one that the screws kept falling out of...
it was a wonder anybody could make it into the building to do business in the first place. so they're installing all new industrial levers and bolts.
amazing you'd never been robbed!
Wow! That is a very long day for you jesdraggon. Do you always work long days on Saturdays? Are you off tomorrow? Do you get your days off during the week?
yeah. that too.
days off? what are these things of which you speak?
i had intended to leave this afternoon while dad worked, and go to an employee's son's graduation party. got an emergency call just as we pulled in though, so jumped out, said "hi, good to see you, you throw a great party, k bye now" and came back.
you're such a party animal, jes! lol
crossy works 4 days a week,at this stage, family is more important.no sense working 50+ hours a week till 65 then dropping dead at 69
yup.
Hi crosshair! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
the place'd fall apart if i only worked 4 days, crossy.
the joys of being the owner.

oh, crossy--that story you recommended was DEPRESSING. why you gotta recommend such sad stuffs?
min,you give the best clues..have i told you that you are my favorite?
yw
what story jess?
cold equations
Thanks crosshair! Have I told you that I have a story of clues in my profile? I'm saving last word for later on
i am sorry it was sad,but it won many awards and was made into a movie..not all stories have happy endings sadly:/
some books will move you in ways you do not like but if it can ellicit a strong emotion and make you think ojn it and remember it for a long time..it is a good tale
i didn't say it wasn't good, just that it was sad :P
flowers for algernon is of the same ilk,but not so heart wrenching
yes, i've read it. i prefer comedies to tragedies, generally.
any tale that can bring forth strong emotions in us,make us think,or for just a little while make the "real world" seem ghostly and unreal for just a whole is worth reading
i get enough sad stories in real life.
while*
read "boys life" by robert mccammon next:) it is amazing
is it sad?
it is a day in the life of a young boy in the 50,s..it has won many awards
or "swan song" by the same author
you didn't answer the question...
swan song is GREAT
your will read till the wee hours and curse crossy
it is indeed sue
true true
you will be grossed and then cry
i'm currently in the middle of Little Brother by Cori Doctorow. and it's going slowly because i'm spending too much time working; nursing orphan babies is bloody time consuming.
ta6/7 clue
of that i am sure
tape worms, sue
same as te5/6 but add the a
I am trying to find them now
found them
robert Mc cammon has done many good novels jes..trust crossy and look a few up
both swan song and boys life have been read to tatters on crossys bookshelf
got the te5/6
not working for the ta6/7
i believe they're good, crossy. i trust you on that. what i'm leery of is the depressing
there is laughter, there is sadness, there is health, there is pain and loss
use lots of vowels, sue
there are only 2 consonants and 5 vowels in the 7
but mr Mcammon is not paying me to pimp his books so i will leave it at that
the t and the n
?
yes
it is just like the te6, but with an A
yes
add an a to the te
you are all the best
fireworks and good night all
g'night, sue
Congratulations suefrad625 on fireworks! Good for U
Goodbye suefrad625! I will se you tomorrow in the log
I am done! I have fireworks! in 6/30 was my last word

fa5 is like the ta6 without the I
ugh, i thought i tried all of those. thanks! fireworks :)

Congratulations jesdraggon on fireworks! Way to go!

Goodbye jesdraggon!I'll see you tomorrow in the chog
and now i leave you with crossys tidbit of the day...
In 1728, the philosopher Voltaire got rich by outsmarting the lottery. When the French government accidentally created a raffle where the prize money was significantly larger than the cost of all the tickets combined, Voltaire and his friend formed a syndicate, bought all the tickets, and won.

Goodbye crosshair! I will see you tomorrow in the log.

3 left all t's ..
i have 20 and am stalling.
first time I have done this since I started grad school, tor (unless I was home sick). Yes, a luxury to not have to stay awake and write all day long! But for the rest of the month I am pretty much back to go go go... a LOT of things to do now to get the house and yard back in shape before August and our friends from all over the world coming!

Some nifty guitar playing ..
ah, very cool! I actually pulled out my guitar yesterday afternoon and stidkid#2 and I played a couple of my favorite songs from the Weavers. Was hard to do -- the last time I played the guitar he wasn't advanced enough to play with me, now he is better!!!
okay, help on N 5 please?
or it could be an N 7?
Frequently works out that way .. My son can play circles around me ..
also searching for a C... has to be either 5 or 7
I have a C 4 and three C6
n5 is your sister's daughter
yep, my kiddo is just an all-around better musician (and I am okay with that)
bah! fished again! *eating sibling's child fish*
me and two younger cousins are the musicians in the family. We'll see if any more pop up in the coming generation.

Congrats, tor

But it didn't work, I see -- must try again

But it looks as if icon themes are dying -- so few participate.
