I think you say "cooms"
that's the one I was thinking of
good question, cos
Cooms it's

Thanks you Lickety, although I've been using the one with the extra word, lol!
I don't know why I keep typing thanks instead of thak

*blinks* *innocent look*
LOL rbud
Hi, rbud
hm, I see a mention of an es7 earlier in the chog, anyone have a hint?
hi, Jellen, et al :)
ES7 is a type of fish, literally. ends like one who studies/is knowledgable, a s*h******
falling asleep, I'm off to bed goodnight'all,
Lepidocybium flavobrunneum is the Latin name for it.
g'night flo, sleep well
G'night, flosey
ahhh, sorted it from your clue, seain, ty much! :)
nite flosey! :)
WHAT! heiny's not a word? hmph!
alas, it's heinie
usually at least
picky, picky, lol!
well, we have the joy of living in the age of 'standardized' spelling: stetl, shtetl, schtetl LOL
huh. that re6.21 is weird to me
wow, LastFM has been all about the flamenco and fado for me tonight.
good morning everybody
you mean the re6 with "no dictionary results? not surprising, huh?
Hi, ruby
{{jellen}}
morning, ruby
howdy, ruby! :)
webster's says it's to reload with a fresh supply of burnable carbon bits
well, it would have to be, wouldn't it. must be archaic
maybe train related
I think i'M TOO YOUNG FOR THIS CHOG! LOL
whoops, didn't mean to shout
today is a holiday here, annunciation day or something, pretty funny in a country where almost nobody goes to church. Even our little village church closed
i lived in a house that had fireplaces that were run with co4 originally. it took me weeks to learn to build a wood fire in those shallow boxes that was hot enough soon enough to get the smoke up the flue. Wood smokes much more than co4
don't be silly ruby, and enjoy whatever holiday you can get :)
wow, now it's playing Charo for me LOL
for me, it just means no mail, no paper, no trash pickup
no paper even! wow
this is such a strange country!
Wow...Charo!
cola
another whooops, sorry
and it's a new release from her
I am amazed she's still around....
*passes ruby a Pepsi Throwback*
Did not know she was still recording...
what's a Pepsi throwback?
it's a Spanish-language album, so i can see why not on radar here
it's pepsi with sugar instead of corn syrup :)
they introduced it as a special think, then it sold so well they kept producing it. The brought back Mountain Dew Heritage -- same concept -- permanently too.
does it really taste different?
yes.
even if it did not, many, many of us work to minimize our corn syrup and HFCS intakes.
I didn't know that corn syrup was bad
it's in everything only because the US Gov subsidizes corn production.
too much of anything is bad, and corn syrup is hard to escape.
and clues for the i's, please?
any*
in4 please, plural
'
'
ir5 gerund from bottom
hi, marigold
ty seain
hi marigold
Have you got any clues for the sc8,75 please
hi everyone
aaron, it's a gerund of the sc5 that holds things together.
can you clue the sc5 please
i have a sc5 loose in my head :)
and my granny has some sc5s holding her ankle together
{{seain}}
that gave me a whole bunch of words, ty
the sc5s have been in her ankle for a long time, ruby :)
and the ones in my head are probably loose, too
why are th5 so many jobs everywh5 i'm not.
one nice bit of sleeplessness is the reminder of how much i like the crew that's in the chog overnight my time. I started playing babble when i was working nights.
uh oh, seain can join me in the PB for a coffee
well, th5's the sc ;)
any pi8,60 clues please
hahah seain
pi5 your ear, you have a pi7, pi5 them both, you have pi8
you pi5 them to wear ea7, usually
any easier clues please
if you puncture something, you pi5 it. Puncturing it you are pi7 it. If you have multiple punctures, you have multiple pi8
oops, pi6,7,8
pi5 of pie
pi6 has a consonant in that
then the 7 and 8
sorry, i miscounted at first :/
ruby, have you heard over there that USPS wants to kut 120k jobs?
have you got the other pe8,60 clues?
that is horrible, seain
I guess people no longer send snail mail, just e-mail
pi5 of pie, pi5 a quilt. Make gerund for 7 and plural for 8
i send one or two pieces of mail a year, and receive 1 or 2 pieces a week.
I still get real mail because my sister in NY refuses to get a computer
i think i'm typical for much of the under-60 crowd, if toward the low end of usage
she used to send me books in m-bags, but they discontinued the service
mailing books costs as much as the books themselves, now, in either direction
domestically, we can still send Media Rate, which is a bit cheaper, but UPS and FedEx are sometimes cheaper
with m-bags, she could send me 8 or 9 books for less than $10
they used old canvas postal sacks
wow!
she sent 100's of books that way
i have a couple of those sacks, one from USPS and one from Deutsche Bunespost
er, Bundespost
it took a long time (like 2 months) but it was wonderful for me
worth the wait :) I do like books.
there are 5 shelves in this room, and at least that many more still in boxes that i need shelves for.
most of them hardbound 1st editions.
sorry can u make those pi8,60 clues a bit easier
do you have the pi5 of pie?
or, pi5 of cake or pizza, if you'd rather? :)
sister's husband is a literary critic and th***fore, she had tons of books to send and give away.
nice, ruby :)
sometimes she just puts them out on the sidewalk in a box and say "take one"
says*
in Baltimore, Maryland is a place called Bookthing. Take what you want, leave what you don't. All for free.
how I would love that! I give away books whenever I find somebody he** who reads English
hm. aaron, which pi8 are you seeking?
one is pi7 together a puzzle, plural for 8.
other is pi7 an ear, plural for *
er, plural for 8
105 words and still no nbt! can't find the left-hand e or the i next to it
i have NBT and 133 found
ep 4/6
hah, fot the i!
ty jellen
yay, nbt
I was contemplating sleep, but it is elusive...
yes, sleep's been elusive for the last week for me. :/ may you rest well and soon, jellen
sometimes, to put myself to sleep, I think up bingos
how dull is that?
aaron, happy to help.
if it works, it's all good, ruby
I had an ep 4/6 sleep last night...
how many hours?
Over 12 hours!
still awake, Jellen and Seain? I should talk.
me too, i fell asleep at some point on the couch, and woke up in the bed.
you're becoming a marmot!
indeed. You're back home, neil?
hi neil, I've never seen you before
No. Not until the end of the month. Just back in California for a job... near San Fran, though. Off to NV next.
oh well. You haven't missed much.
at least it's a reasonable late hour in your time zone.
he's entertaining and charming, ruby
I can tell by his icon
I had better start lunch, see you later
*poof*
Bye ruby
hasta, ruby.
{{hugs}}
Check the info I just retweeted and shared on G+, Seain. Interesting.
I'm caving in and getting a snack...brb
ah, yes, knew that already, and much of O's is due to GB II's wars.
c you soon, jellen
Yes, exactly.
i've started a line-by-line rebuttal of Perry's Why I'm Running post.
Have you really? Where are you going to post that?
tomorrow afternoon Eastern.
I did not know the statistics, but they don't surprise me...
The question I asked was where, not when.
I know it's late. Surprised you're still up.
well, by the clock, sometime in the next 14 hours. Oh, i'll post to my LJ, FB, and G+ with it. May even deign to make a Blogger post, if i remember.
i've been weirdly sleepless last week roughly.
I see.
I look forward to reading that.
i've been working on sourcing some items.
refuting is good, but supported refutal is better.
Ugh. I need my sleep... Ambien helps sometimes. I'm fine when I'm at home in my own place, but on the road it's often hard to settle and sleep, in different rooms and beds all the time. That's when I sometimes need to take something, or I just won't settle and sleep.
and i've been receiving emails from the VA 10th District Republicans, which has been interesting, not least since i live in the 8th.
Naturally. Always support a refutal.
well, may you sleep soon and well.
Ummm, why? How is it they're contacting you?
via email. I lived in the 10th back in 2001-2003. I think a friend who is a very, very active republican may have supplied it, as most of the people we know in common live in the 10th. Never mind that my region of VA is split between the 8th, 10, and 11th.
Fortunately I have a couple more days off now, until Wed. in Las Vegas. Some of tomorrow will be spent travelling there.
not often, just a few emails.
Yes, I'm just wondering how they have come to know and contact you?
i used to visit there often, though rarely spent any time on the strip. So i know the city well, but the strip hardly at all.
A friend who's an active one? Ugh.
dunno, it's not bothersome, and i don't ask to be removed.
My father is too... you can imagine the arguments/heated debates we get into.
i have more than one friend who sees the world that way. Happily, we agree to disagree. Yes, yes i can :)
Of course. That's pretty much what we do. Hey, I'll support anyone's right to vote whichever way they want... as long as they make an informed decision, more power to them. I appreciate having the same right.
my mom and i have that issue too. She's calmed down a LOTsince beck's been off the air.
agreed :)
Oh, yeah. I bet!
Well, I think I can probably fall asleep now... so I really should give that a try.
I recommend you try that too. ;)
I hope you rest well, neil...
Thanks, Jellen. You too!
Good night, you two.
yes, at minimum i ought go change sheets. Wow it's nearly 5! Yes, i shall go see about sleeping too.
so, g'night jellen, may sleep find you soon, too!
G'night dc...
good afternoon all
hello again
hey rubyfoo
{{sprite}}??
yes it is sprite... why the question marks?
if you were still here....I figured you might have finished in the 1/2 hour
lol for a moment I thought I looked so bad you didn't recognise me
are you OK? Why do you look bad?
oh just bad nights and a lot of pain, same old same old. How are you and how is hubby?
pain in the morning, but usual meds take care of it
what do you take for the pain?
I used to have oxycodone, but didn't want to take that for the rest of my life. Now I have gabapentine, which is rather odd stuff. Works against nerve pain, but also against fear... and epilepsia, lol, which I don't have...
that is interesting. I just take "dafalgan codeine" which is pretty mild and I combine it with bi-profenid (which is an OTC med in the US)
ah, I have paracetamol codeine to support the gabanpentine. All the way back from oxycodone to codeine is something I am very happy with.
I would feel the same. My orthopedist gave me something he said was stronger, but it didn't touch the pain at all
it is worst when the humidity is very high or if it's cold
Good day ladies! Sorry to hear about pain issues.
I've been trying to take walks, but it makes my back worse
hello scrabs! we just need bunnies.....
pain is a funny th5. When I used oxycodone, I didn't have too much pain in the hips and back, but the pelvic bone still hurt like hell. Now with the gaba, the pelvic bone is finally quiet for the most part. But the back and hips are giving me hell.
Well, I have a happy bunny nearby. Her Mama is awake and downstairs.
heya Scrabs :) Well you know what they say about pain: if you feel it, you aren't dead... and you can grow old with it.
Arthritis?
pelvic girdle issues from pregnancies and birthings.
my pains are scoliosis-related, reconstructive surgery-related (moved muscles around) and old broken bones
Yep, a woman's body is never the same after pregnancy + birthing. My mother reminds me often because I was her first of 4 big babies. I was the smallest at 4 kg.
growing old may be hard but it's a lot better than the alternative!!!!
Ouch, Ruby.
I had my son when I was so young that I had no problems afterward -- very lucky
after my girl was born, I couldn't walk anymore. So I am happy to be able to walk again, even without a stick now, after 13 years.
wow, sprite, I didn't realize...
<--gives sprite a big (gentle) hug
What happened, Sprite? Birth injury?
why should you? :) things are much better now. And one gets used to pain. The only real bummer is, it takes up a lot of energy to handle pain.
yes, birth injury. Something snapped when she came out. It was a bit of a panic birth, she did not breathe.
thanks for the hug :)
Yes, I have had 4 episodes of herniated discs causing severe nerve pain, and during those episodes I think about how one deals with chronic pain. It's maddening and exhausting.
<-- loves sprite
Gentle group hug. May gratitude overcome suffering.
for me, it's a question of dividing up activities and resting between (plus meds, of course)
ouch Scrabs :( That is very painful. Are you without pain now?
Scrabs, thanks for the hug, and absolutely. I wouldn't trade my girl for a painfree life! Or for anything else in the world. And I am blessed in a zillion ways.
nerve pain is something else! Only occasionally, I get a nerve pain in my upper spine, but it only lasts about 10 minutes. It's excruciating, however, makes me cry
I get minor twinges of sciatic pain almost daily, but during those acute episodes--burning, searing, severe nerve pain.
and to think, I used to dance all night! it's hard to imagine
also an energy eater, Scrabs. Sorry you have to manage pain like that.
This grid seems rather painful. It's a toughie isn't it?
<-- giving another gentle hug, this time to scrabs!
it appears my pelvic bone pain is nerve pain. Nothing worked for all this time, and now finally with the gaba, it is down to a manageable level.
I am fine, Sprite. Last flare-up was 3 yrs ago, I think.
not that bad, Scrabs, the grid I mean. Some good endings will help. And using more than 2 consonants in a row too.
the only pain I've had like a nerve pain was with broken ribs and, later, with broken sternum, both VERY bad
I have had broken ribs, and I cannot imagine the pain a broken sternum must cause. Ouch!
How did you do that damage, ruby?
and now it's rest time. See you later, ladies. The sternum broke when we had an accident and the airbag was activated -- smushed me like a fly!
scary. Have a nice rest, rubyfoo :)
I broke the ribs falling over my first dog
Sleep well, ruby.
ty and *poof*
I broke my first rib coughing, can you imagine? I didn't believe it until the ER doctor confirmed it.
Violent and frequent coughing, huh?
yes, had been coughing badly for about a month, and then all of a sudden, snap!
thought I'd hurt a muscle, but the pain didn't go away, and got worse and worse. Am still baffled coughing can do that. But the doctor said we underestimate the forces that are involved with coughing and sneezing.
Time to get ready for work. Enjoy the day, Sprite.
you too, Scrabs, and be well :)
oh sprite, broken ribs are so painful. So sorry.
hi Michelle, it is a long time ago! Rib has mended. How are you today?
doing well...off to work after some time off
Sprite, I did the same thing the same way. A new and different kind of pain, that is.
getting back into the routine :)
not sure I am ready
and that is fireworks for me. Beautiful icon! Must be off, have a grand day.
Congrats Sprite, have a nice day.
congrats, sprite!
ouch! Sorry you had to go through that. Is it all mended now?
hi and bye Molly :)
Yep, mine was a while back too.
am glad. It certainly is a new and different kind of pain! Ok, must run now, son goes off on holiday with a friend and the parents. Must get him ready. *hugs*
hi all for a minute
hi, jmc, just here for a minute myself
sympathy for all with long term pain--spent 2 years in agony with a herniated disc
Momentary hello. I've heard disc pain is horrid.
indeed - had a herniated disc in my neck that took a year to diagnose, no fun. hugs to all!!!
Hi Sue. That picture of new Mom Sue and baby boy on Facebook is precious.
it was horrible and all i could think about and i was unable to sit with out terrible pain and i still had to travel on planes and driving
thx, mollly! Hard to remember he was ever that tiny!
Oh JMC, that sounds awful. Glad it is behind you.

sounds awful, jmc - glad it is better now!!
A picture of Sue and her boy when he was a tiny baby.
i worked lying on the floor of my office with my laptop on my lap and the phone beside me

i see a baby roo in in the grid
yes indeed crossy
I can't seem to hit the correct keys this morning! UGH!
lol car, that is every day for me
But as I am a typist for my living, this is distressing!
ge the dragon naturally speaking program that i uses for my sons schooling and you can speak and type up to 160 wpm:))
but car, you are usually typing more normal words when at work?
I need to get that so badly!!!!!
Not normal words at all flosey!!!! Ophthalmology and Arthritis reports!
i have even drafed letters and played babble with it
I figured if I get that program, I can just repeat what the doctor says and not have to type so much.
ah, not everyday words then
you can indeed car
May I ask Crossy, how much?
i used version 10 and it can be had for about 150 dollars now
Do you have to dictate punctuation?
but if you type for a living,i think it is a must have
you do dictate punctuations, spacing new paragraphs, indents etc
you say exactly what you want
Does it pick up background talking?
you train the new program by reading books to it,it learns your cadence and accent if any
no,it has a bg filter
I need the lowest i for NBT please?
you must get a good quality head set mic for it though..do not go cheap on the mic
the newest version has a mike with it.

interesting, carlee. Don't know much about muslim, except that one of my bridge partners from Ontario was muslim - in later years he went to Mecca yearly
good morning, everyone :)
good morning nan
hello again. 118 words earlier but slim chance of more.....
hi there ruby
Hi everyone ....
The Sherlock Holmes novel "A Study In Scarlet" has been banned from a Charlottesville, VA. sixth grade reading list, because someone has "suggested" it is derogatory to Mormons. This comment about the news article made me laugh: I just want to know when someone is going to come to the defense of swine. I mean, look how "Animal Farm" has created such discrimination against all pigs!
can anyone clue the cr7/44 please
I have a fundamental Christian friend who says Mormons aren't Christians! What? Excuse me?
too bad we can't all live in peace with each other, isn't it
amen, flosey!
everybody should be like carlee
A second Amen for Flosey.
((((ruby)))
cr 7/44...c + ***ent all ye sinners + gerund
don't have it and hello norma
c+sales agent + gerund Norma
thanks Molly, Hi ruby
babble greetings to all
is that when you drape the coffin?
hi TO
hello words
i said this once before,i will let my son read any classic novel he wishes,i do not care if the language and customs of the time are now offensive to some.this is our history..warts and all
Hi to
there are people who want to ban Uncle Tom's Cabin and Huckleberry Finn. That is American history; you can't change it, the teachers just need to be prepared to discuss
so true crossy, when a book is banned, that's when kids want to get their hands on it
I agree Cross. Just because a story in a book says something, doesn't mean kids are going to incorporate it into their moral code. Most of the time, the subject matter in books is a cautionary tale.
do we ban all novels with the words darkie, octomaroon, honkey and whitebread when used in that context?? i think not
I think we are all on the same page in here!
i think we are ruby
I'm afraid to ask: how many words do you have, crossy?
Flosey, back in the day, Peyton Place was considered a "sinful book". Teenagers everywhere found a way to get a copy.
the books speak to us from the past as they were written,it is a window to a bygone era and i would not change that for the world, nor deprive my son of some wonderful authors
It is all the Politically Correctness that has got the UK in the mess it is in ..... History is something we should learn by ...
i only have 63 atm ruby dear
so true, Molly
does anybody read the New Yorker? There is a wonderful essay by Adam Gopnick about dogs. Definitely worth reading
no, it's Ruby My Dear an old Thelonius Monk tune
I agree Norma. And our kids can't learn from history if we don't let them read about it. In fiction and in text books.
btw i friended you on fb ruby tuesday:)
Some of the Classics are a wonderful lesson on the history of both of our countries and very interesting
I think fiction is a great window on the world and kids who specialize too early and don't read what they consider to be irrelevant are missing out on a lot
Thelonius Monk...a jazz legend.
if you sterilize all offensive books, then the children of the future will not learn the correct history as it happened.
ray bradbury wrote a great book about just this topic
I am so old, Molly, that I used to see him perform at the Village Gate and the Five Spot in NY (of course I was underage....)
I am so old, Molly, that I used to see him perform at the Village Gate and the Five Spot in NY (of course I was underage....)
I am so old, Molly, that I used to see him perform at the Village Gate and the Five Spot in NY (of course I was underage....)
sorry, why did that happen???
Farenheit 451
thats the one:)
I was a jazz groupie before they'd invented "groupie"
I would hang out with jazz musicians and then my father would drive into the city to bring me home!
What a wonderful experience for you Ruby. Alas, great musicians like that don't exist anymore.
and he'd sit at the musicians' table to hear a set!
Fathers, too
I was very lucky
sounds like a great Dad, ruby
he was the best!
it was interesting as he had never had any experience with black people and he was absolutely cool with it
(before cool was cool)
Can I have a clue for sc8.I have the two 5 but am blind for the 8.
gerund of sc5/20?

dandelion greens . . . mustard greens . . .
congrats, nan!!!!!!!
what are those greens anyway -- some kind of cabbage?
ready with tomorrow's icon, now off for breakfast, be back late tonight
cabbage? no
I've had them in the southern states nan, quite tasty
bye flosey -- will have to see what tomorrow's theme is
they're sprouty green leaves . . .
phantom: vilipending
so more like spinach?
yeah, i guess . . . and they're PACKED with nutrients!
and fiber of course!
do you eat them raw in a salad or must they be cooked?
usually steamed or sauteed
Collard greens are a staple vegetable of southern U.S. cuisine. They are often prepared with other similar green leaf vegetables, such as kale, turnip greens, spinach, and mustard greens in "mixed greens". They are generally eaten year-round in the South. Typical seasonings when cooking collards can consist of smoked and salted meats (ham hocks, smoked turkey drumsticks, pork neckbones, fatback or other fatty meat), diced onions, vinegar, salt, and black, white, or crushed red pepper.
I've even chopped them up and added them to soups and chili
oh -- was going to try them, but I don't care for cooked spinach, so these probably wouldn't appeal either.
now that, I would do -- especially the chili
well, then you probably wouldn't like it
I've chopped up kale and added it to soups and chili too
MMmmmm. Praise God and pass the collards, y'all!
the classic season for cooked greens in the south is bacon or fatback :-)
*seasoning
ok gotta run for now --BBL *poof*
lol! yaaa for collard greens! im for anything that can make a meat product become a seasoning! hehe
"we just season these greens with a pound or 2 of bacon..." :)
A mixture of collard greens, chitlins, grits and vegemite works well for filling pot holes
i shall pass on the vegemite
i would rather have scrapple on toast
Holy crap! Just had a flash of lightening and a HUGE crack of thunder. That one was close. I jumped right out of my chair and the cats shot under the bed.
lol, poor judi..your computer is plugged into a surge protector power bar?
Absolutely, Crossy. We actually have a whole-house surge protector.
good stuff
It's good to have a neighbor who's an electrician!
an 8 food copper rod grounded to the electrical service panel is helpful
foot, not food
Not sure if we have that BR. You're talking above my pay grade now.
housework beckons -- see you at the flip :)

Ep4 & 5. Sweeping saga or journey.
lol ty and fish me
that nbt and nbs for crossy
*Tossing* Carpe carp, Crossy!
ugh@ carp..garbage fish just like whitefish, catfish and ling.when we are up north fishing we never put any of those back to give the gamefish a sporting chance
though i do know people that eat them
Ha! They make good bait.
i would love to catch something that can swallow a 15 pound whitefish:) a muskie may have a go at it:))
though saltwater fishing is vastly different i imagine and many fish would make great bait when chopped in chunks..crossy has never fished salt water species
those crab boats you see on that tv series look like a bit of fun though
Don't fish. I don't think I'd like fishing in the Bearing Sea. Too damn cold.
I could wrangle me some lobsters, though!
mmmm lobbysters...
And to think they were once peasant food. Boggles the mind.
it is still a poor mans stew over on our east coast in some areas
lol,do not have to go back too far in time to when the butcher used to give away chicken wings and soup bones
They have been abundant the past few years. Sometimes they have them on sale at the grocery store for 4.99 a lb. I snatch them up then.
When I bring them home, I let them crawl around on the tile to amuse the cats.
*hopes PETA isn't monitoring this website*
lol, that must drive the cats bonkers
you are going to boil them alive, being pawed a bit by a cat pales by comparison
It is rather hilarious. The cats' ey4 get huge.
Of course I leave their claws banded during kitty inspections.
i hope so!
i am surprised that the pi 8/60 cannot be pluraled
Don't have it yet. Clue?
NM. just got it.
Gotta take a break and turn up the air. BBL.

Alas, Judi has left. Clue for pi8 please?

TY, Ru, I will ponder that. Hi Owl.
A pi8 shriek?
i am guessing enable treats it as the adjective it is. score one for enable

huh! can't make a pl out of the pi8/60!
i guess that's a new fangled idea
Well, Lickety's list includes a pi9. Not sure why there is the discrepancy.
hmmm interesting
Hi all -- Lickety's first list had an extra word -- the pi9 which should exist but not in Enable' tiny little mind. There is an updated list if you refresh.
Hello all!
hi jill
the pi9 is the pl of pi8.
es7?
behold the magig jilli -- she appears and everyone vanishes!

Nobody here, I guess.

I just got here too
help with that wi7 pls jilli
got 150 left to go lol
67 left here, guess jilli left. bbl
wi7 is the pl of the wi6 before it, if you have that.
wi 6/39 change last letter of wi 6/33 to sometimes vowel, then plural for 7/56
Hello Lisa and Luv -- I see you can clue so I'll be off to get lunch and do chores -- happy babbling all!
hi jilli
Sorry I missed Pe4/5!
thanks for the wi...i would have never thought to plural that lol
yw Lisa, so many odd words in Babble land. I couldn't believe the qu word yesterday that had a double u!
i didnt babble yesterday unfortunately :( I worked too much and was tired lol
evening all - any clues for the ey 6/30 please

littlebit! why are you in mexico? *curious minds want to know*
hey all
i am great! nice sunny day, on vacation, and meeting up with lil*monkey later this evening for dinner and a movie :)

haha stid! i'm not in mexico...it's in honor of my fave little mexican restaurant...rancho grande!
mmmmm mexican food
and they have the best!! have been going in there for a long time and know most of the people there
aha! LOVE mexican food!
i have got to start turning on the light in the morning when i get dressed--this is the second day in a row that i found i have put my bra on wrong side out!
okay, should head out again... my kiddo is going to be half an hour late to his hour long tbone lesson
now i have to decide if it is worth it to fix it after wearing it this way all day
lol! i put on two different earrings once...same kind but different colors
later stid
bye stiddie
oh i lost one earring each of similar earrings (primarily a different stone but same shape) and i wear them both together regularly
too cheap to throw them out
mine were one silver and one gold but i didn't lose either one. i don't put them next to each other on my dresser anymore!
haha
how can hics not be found in the dictionary? you seldom have only one hic

JMC, be sure to eat at your computer once in a while. They feed on the crumbs. : D
who knows, maybe they will find some words while you're gone :)
hello all
hey bugsaw
cute dog
Molly, don't you just love John O'Donohue?
Bugs, his words are like a hammock for the spirit. I was heart broken when he passed.
I treid to change it to my cat for Jilli who loves the icon theme thing but I don't know how. So , the dog is cute
I still don't know what happened. I was heartbroken as well
joys
Hey there Lil Bit, how are you today?
oops PB time already
i'm good molly, how about yourself?
Bugs, they never publicly released a cause of death. I think the family wanted that private, as it should be.
evening all
Not bad Lil Bit.
hey glantarell
at least he died the way I want to. He went to sleep and woke up in heaven
Indeed Bugs, and what a legacy he left us.
that's how i want to go too
clue for the last pr5/12? the one after the young royal male

When you want a hard copy you hit Pr5 on your computer.
that's a better clue
doh! TY littlebit & molly
Lil Bit have you and Monkey had any fun girls outings lately?
actually we are meeting tonight for dinner and a movie :)
Great. What movie are you going to see?
the help
I can't wait to see that. I loved the book.
monkey said the book was really good
i'm trying to get this grid done before we meet up cause i know i'll be too tired to find words when i get home!
May I have a big hint for the ir5 please.
I love the book too, hi all
hey pe4

i'm jumping in...got 33 words to find in 1/2 an hour!
when in doubt add the gerund ending today
You can do it, littlebit.
woops. I was positive there.
Anyone have the pi-6 right before the second pi-8?
To do what the 2nd pi8 is the result of, Creeta.
Doh! Thx.
yw :)
littlebit, let me know what you think of The Help -- I loved the book but they keep referring to the movie as a "comedy" which doesn't bode well, eh?
Une, I heard from a friend that the movie was very true to the book. I guess "comedy" sells more tickets than "chick flick".
oh, i hope so . . .
It looks like the parts in the movie were very well cast. That always gives me hope that the story will transfer to the screen well. Viola Davis is perfect as Abeliene.
Uneaixoise. You're one of the babblers I sent an add to on OMGPOP. Seain was showing me who the babblers are there so I invited you all to connect.
If I want to join something, I look for a welder.
hi BR hello all
help with the re624 pls
Hello

sheesh ty neil
Or a disaster plan?
yw periwinkle. You're another one on OMGPOP?
back again
I think that was the most hard to find word in this grid.
ni** to meet you negative
I am but I have not played in months and not sure when I will play again. I am addicted to Babble and to Scramble on FB
hi jmc. Think you are too? Yes. Checking my list.
hey jmc
if i am i never go there negative
I see peri. I avoid FB like the plague. Have a dead page there I'm deleting once I get all my contacts to move over to G+.
but invite me, maybe i will get back on since i am unemployed
it's Neil, jmc.
what is G+ ?
I think I did?
I'll do it again though in case I didn't.
How goes the remodel JMC? Did you get drenched by last nights storm?
Google+.
i am neil too ;-)
my bathroom was much wetter than normal molly
*Hands JMC some galoshes*
but they hung a plastic tarp over it today so i am hopeful
was told the
You are what too, jmc? You're named Neil too?
I am not liking the re words help with the other re6's pls can't see them even on morewords
sorry was told th*** w*** more comments on the permit but they are going to take it back tomorrow and really push
hope something happens before the snow flies
I am "son of neil" haha
Oh Lord, I didn't realize you were being held up by permit problems.
and i generally call babblers by the first part of th*** profile name until they tell me otherwise
yes the engineer on my permit's wife died and so I received a major set back be sent to someone new
I'm confused, jmc. Nothing new though.
that is the wife of the engineer at the permit office died so all his work was given to someone else who already had a full load
about what neil?
re6/30 pls
BR if you are still he** ty for giving me that video link to the floods--it was terrifying and illuminating
Yep, and the problems are ongoing
has the river not receded? I am afraid I haven't kept up.
You're "son of Neil"? You look kinda feminine to me. I went to your OMGPOP page and sent the add just now. "Mamma said knock you out" it says!
re + comes out ahead and pl
your page says. Not my invite.
ty BR
how odd.
i cannot think the last time i went to omgpop
mc=son of
oh? Letterblox is a good game. Highly addictive.
Oh! duh. Of course... with you now.
have not played letterblox
No? I thought that's why the babblers were on there. To play that game?
well i will think about it neil--i have a few things i need to get under control before i add another game to my collection
Looks like it's the only word game on OMGPOP.
yeah, sure. No sweat.
i have played lexulous and scramble a few times
are they not on omgpop?
oh NM, I guess that is what I was playing? it has been a while
Oh yes. A few of us play Lexulous scrabble games... mostly by email though. I play live on there sometimes too.
No, lexulous is on www.lexulous.com and I'm not sure about scramble? What is that?
The Corp of Engineers keeps releasing water from the reservoirs behind the dams . ... terrible planning on the part of the Corp
actually my favorite games are spider solitaire and catus pete and the corporate monkeys
I play spider solitaire on my computer sometimes. I'm mostly a word game fanatic though.
yikes that does not sound good BR Do they think that lets the pressure off the dams?
And Sudoku. I'm addicted to that too.
scramble is a scrabble game--and i get trounced by babblers when i manage to play
oh, cool. Where is that played, jmc?
jmc, give it a try again, I love Scramble. red and Jacula play too
hmmm let me see
on FB, neil
Yes .... but the Corp created a backlog up north by not releasing water from downstream reservoirs until it was too late to prevent needless flooding
Scramble is similar to Babble but the rounds are timed
oh that is terrible BR
that is indeed terrible, BR
i know you and jac love scramble peri but i do so terribly compared to you! haha
i will play later this week maybe--i have tax returns to do to get some money coming my way
Sometimes it seems I lose more than I win but I still keep playing. You will get better the more you play
i know i have gotten better at babble! i actually find babblets faster than re** words sometimes! haha
I found really good pasta salad re6 (Giada DeLaurentis) but when I read more carefully th*** were over 60 grams of carbs in each serving so I did not make it
i know that they were very angry down river that the government decided to flood crop land to save more populated areas--it seemed people thought that the government could have come up with a better solution
well not too big of a surprise that a pasta salad has carbs! haha
how about if you use whole grain pasta?
I know but it had cherry tomatores capers and artichoke hearts in it
yum
I cold not find the right shape in whole grain pasta and I really looked
does the shape really matter?
I may return the pasta and go to another store for the whole grain pasta
Oh, I'm weird that way. My pasta salad has to be made with the tri-color spiral pasta.
that sounds like a plan
yea, according to the re6. shaped so it will catch the dressing
Sixty grams of carbs! Holy moley! I don't have that many carbs in a week!
well lots of shapes catch the dressing
hi bzzn
I have 6 left and tired. did 4 loads of laundry, volunteered at the food pantry and made chicken soup with mushrooms and dumplings.
Hello all.
sounds like a day well spent peri
they just had the tube or straight shapes in whole grain and I wanted shells or something similar
hi Bzz
i took my keyan guest to the airport and listened to my boy complain!
I don't know about capers, but aren't artichokes a high carb food?
wheels or corkscrews are good too for salad
bbs to find my last words
No, they are not.
I don't know but I realy like artichoke hearts
artichokes? re**ly?
poof
bye peri
in brine, 4.5 oz. : carbs: 13.0 carbs ; fiber: 1.8 gr
god i love google
I am not that big into art ... but I do not choke on it
:-)
Well, add that carb count to the pasta, the tomatoes and whatever dressing is in it and I can see how it would come up with 60 per serving.
Take the fiber count away from the carb count to get the net carb count. Artichokes and hearts are allowed on Atkin's induction.
15 is this many: http://tinyurl.com/3jqd97x
That IS funn!
*funny
cute BR
okay 75 left back to the salt mines
bbl
Bea, if you are still around, here is the recipe Peri was referring to. I figure the high carb count must come from the large-shaped pasta. Everything else looks pretty carb friendly to me. http://tinyurl.com/3ljerst
can anyone clue the WI 6,39?
Yes, it must be the pasta. Looks good.
wi 6 is the wi5 + the sometimes vowel
*****stealth hugs on the way out the door (again)***** *repoof*
geez, I got a little bit sidetracked for a while.
At our house, that is called "washing the car"...
oh cool. You have a recipe blog on Google, BzznBea? I have a friend with a recipe blog on there too which I follow... have to try some of them soon.
My blog is a little bit of every thing. right now it is on hiatus due to writer's block.
thank u bzzn.. thought I had tried that
I see. I have a blog on there too... a repost of older blogs that were in my website, until some nasty ******* hacked my site and took it down. I fought for almost a year to try and reclaim my domain name. Nuts! I gave up and registered it @ .net instead of .com in the end.
If you like recipe blogs and you like to cook, you have to check out Pioneer Woman.
wow, impressive! You've designed that well with your custom graphics!
I'm not really crazy into cooking, but I like trying interesting new things once in a while. I would get into it more if I had more time and was home more than I am, yeah.
Thanks!
hello all
morning all
Hey, TO.
And MRP.
Oh that video you posted, Bea? The little girl singing with her dad? Someone in our network posted that on G+ a week ago. So cute!
OMG, what a busy day! I am just starting to come up for air and it is dinner time and I am still at work!
hi all
mrp, how did things go today or it is yesterday?
let me rephrase that. mrp how are things re the stalker
guess you are not here at the moment hungry need to eat may be back later
and I am heading home, bbl
hi all!
hi jen
like your kitty :)
So I got home, plugged in my laptop, and got a message "your computer was unable to start." It is now going through endless gyrations. Fml.
sorry sue
Oh, well. Also Frank is out, don't know where, and the kid is sound asleep. Gah.
haven't been here in a while
hi all back again
Well, it is good to see you, praise! How are things by you?
Hi, jmc!
doing okay--staying busy with work and grands
my computer does that from time to time and as near as i can tell it means nothing
*Orders a nice, catered dinner to be delivered to Sue*
Ok, computer says it is coming alive although I had to restore it to some indeterminate previous state. We shall see.
i could share the gazpacho i made this morning cooling in the fridge
lots of garlic
And thanks for dinner, Molly! Where have you been all my life?
Garlic sounds good.
just had tilapia with lots of garlic :)
too much garlic is an oxymoron in my house
LOL jmc
I have some garlic dill pickles from a local farm that are really nice.
when my son was a baby i took him with me to the grocery and i was looking at some veggies when i realized people were looking at him with horror on their faces--he was munching a head of garlic like an apple
so worth the pb to tell that story
I have a great recipe for refrigerator dill pickles if anyone gets visited by the cucumber fairy this summer.
i guess i won't be making pickles this fall since i still don't have a kitchen
maybe my sister will let me make them th
That is a great story JMC. Proof that the boy was hearty at a tender age.
<---- has no idea which word of jmc's is in the grid
i usually make him bread and butter pickles for his birthday

th5/12 and th5/12 and we4/8
common words and hard to avoid
However my computer seems to have recovered, although with its volume on maximum. Bbs.
haha good for your computer
Earlier, I gave special dispensation for hi4. I figured if I didn't, the PB would be bursting at the seams.
hi4? i usually as for a clue

hello, je, molly, sue, et al.
Hi to my fellow babblers! How is everybody doing tonight
j've successully made samgak kimbap -- triangle sushi :)
good evening, minver
By the way, congratulations to all of the finishers!Hooray
A lot of people use hi4. Between that, the common words you mentioned and pe4, I figure it was a "get out of the PB free" kind of day.
agreed, molly
Sounds like something Sardo Numspa from "The Golden Child" would eat.

whats in samgak kimbap? sounds interesting
samgak kimbap - Korean. What is the samgak
Smarter than my computer, apparently (which has once again quit responding)
Oh, I thought samgak kimbap was what you did the next day, after eating the stuff.
bummer uu
ummmmmmm puters, a wonderful thing to have, when they are working properly.
<--- Would never be able to navigate Babble on a tiny, hand held screen.
OK, computer is back again. Sigh.
Well, I can expand the image so the grid fills the screen, so it is not so bad. Main problem is that the word list and chat log do not scroll on the phone.
i can chat on babble on my blackberry but it is too slow to play the game and if the chat is fast forgetaboutit
I made pie with my blackberries
Hi all
so the one thing i did today that i am proud of is that i got comcast to drop my monthly bill for 12 months
yum ru
how so jmc?
Cute icon, ruru :-)
Two phantom words for me today are cajole and precinct
:D
careful with the batteries they will break your teeth
Whenever my internet bill drops, I have to bend over and pick it up.
One of the funniest things I ever saw here was Eva, accessing Babble on her phone from the grocery store, trying to find chili sauce.
yeah, I could stand to get my bill dropped too :-)
Hello wht! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log.
anyone want my bills?
brb - Frank is home :-)
oddly i called them to roll back because--as i explained to them--i am unemployed and they said they could give me the new person promotion and drop my bill
i was happy
I'll pass Ru, but how sweet of you to offer.
So I am fine, except that I cannot figure out the pe6,21 for fireworks.
i have been cutting off all sorts of things that i like but don't need as part of my hunkering down syndrome
Jmc, I take it that your job hunting has not been going as well as you would like.
does that include jack jm?
pe 6/21...****grin falcon + Ave Mar**
well i tend to be a cautious person about money wht--that is why i am good on a finance committee :-)

Hello gapeach1066! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
<-- not yet half way. Amazing how little time I have to babble when the semester is about to start...
I had little time to babble this summer with my summer job uusue2. I have 3 more weeks to babble all I want to.
babble on, min!!

Hello dcseain! Thanks!
2nd pe5.12, pls?

hm. okay, thanks :)
The pe5/12 word is pe plus actress *h** Pearlman dcseain
thank you :)

i'm down to 17, which is the furthest i've worked through a grid in some while.
Hi there, Min. I'm doing OK. Trying to keep cool. LOL
Hi there, dcseain.
knowing how it's been up he4, i imagine it's even yuckier down there, peach.
Yes, dc, the humidity is horrible. The winters make up for it though.
Saturday here, it smelled like rain, but it never did. it was so humid like you could cut the air.
I am just dropping in to say hi. I expect to be going to be soon, but wanted to see what I was missing...
cr7?
That is so funny Seain. It rained out here like gangbusters in the afternoon on Saturday.
hi red.
Hello redturtlehead! How are you doing? Welcome to grid

Hello mixi6! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log

HI minver. I'm doing great.

First cr 7/44 word is a gerund form of a pastry dish mixi6
The easiest 8 is sc8/75 Sue. Think naughty.

I've been singing Jimmy Buffets "Why Don't We Get Drunk" all day. : P
Congratulations mixi6 on your fireworks! Hooray for you!

wi7?
It's the wi5/20...add sometimes vowel and plural
plural the wi6.39, shirl
chee, didn't know you can plural that word
This grid is full of weirdness. co 5/12? Really? Has anyone ever seen that word spelled with a C?
i'm missing a bunch of pi
Many of the PI words have gerund endings Shirl, if that helps.
Okay, 4 of them.
got 2 more with that gerung clue
evenin babblers!
hello folks
Eva, have you heard about that guy from Gaithersburg that they are holding in Aruba in connection with the disappearance of his girlfriend? He sounds like a real scum bucket.
Hi Feather
has the pi9 been called?
hi molly. quiet room. i'm heading off to play elsewhere! ooh, look, bright shiny things over there....
Brought me out of hiding Molly...That woman graduated from one of our local high schools
oh, I see its absence was noted quickly
and yes he is not a person I would want to be acquainted with
Oh Sea, that makes this very personal to your community. The article in The Washington Post about this guy made my skin crawl. Apparently, he's been accused of some pretty slimy stuff by several women.
Hi Gremlinn. There have been some discussions about the pi9 not being included in the "official" list.
yeah, I thought to check the chat archive right after I asked, heh
dumb question - does it take the pi 9 to finish?
I have been watching and reading this story, what a dirt ball...such a shame, I spent a week in aruba , the place is so small I can't believe these men can pull this stuff off
there is no pi9, but there should be
aahh.... thanks
Sea, I had a thought today that Aruba is probably hating all this negative publicity.
Oh definitely, and exposing there inferior legal system is not doing them much good either
Although I would think they would have learned a few things from the Holloway case
molly, i have heard. what a creep.
sparklers...night all
hi all
i c this grid didnt get better with age either
I'll be disappointed if yet another "angry" rich boy gets away with something like this.
gets away with what molls?
Hi Carlee
hi molls
Oh, we were discussing the latest "disappearance" in Aruba.
oh..i dont know about it...
The guy in question is local for Eva and I. The woman in question is local for SeaSpray.
Hi all. Does anyone need any clues for the grid?
Hi Jac, I don't thanks.
The riots in England seem to have stopped for the moment, but the fact that all 3 wage-earners in our household are now jobless is not yet resolved.
Aw Jac, sorry to hear that. Being jobless is scary.
And no, you're not a real friend if you even have to ask, none of us went looting or rioting.
Oh my God, did people actually ask you that?
Molly - it is scary, but I'm sure we'll all find something.
Jacula, that is horrific news! Did you lose your jobs because of the rioting? or just bad timing?
No, they didn't in real life Molly, but a small number on the internet hinted that it might have been a good thing to do.
Bug - there's a recession here in UK and we lost our jobs due to companis 'downsizing', even though we don't all work for the same company.
That is such a callous, unfeeling thing to hint at Jac. I worry about internet communication and how superficial it has made some people.
I am so sorry. I know about the recession and feel very fortunate that I still have a job, even tho I would love to retire
This is the 3RD recession I have been through in my working life and the first time it's made me a victimm. So, I think I've been lucky really.
I suppose you are then but it was even more frightening when I was older because I thot noone would want an old person. Turns out, you should not believe that hype and keep searching.
Got my last job when I was 54
Do you know, this mass loss of jobs might be the making of our dreams if we can work at it as a team, set up the business we all want in the pllace we want and make it work. There 'could' be a silver lining to this.
Bug - I'm 54, too.
As I said, I got a job in new field at that age so don't be too discouraged.
Bug - what is your field of expertise?
Jac, I lit a candle for you. Where there is light, there is hope. May your troubling times pass very soon.
Molly - thank you so much.
I am working in the schools as an educational assistant or teacher's aide. I work with the kids who have difficulties of one sort or another. After all my years of parenting, I had more resources at my disposal that young people do.
I will do the same Molly.
Bug - schools, where I have worked before, and hospitals, where my son tells me that 'middle-aged women with ig bottoms and a bossy attitude' abound may well employ me. :-((
At 44 I got a job at a work/life skills program for mentally challenged adults.
I wish my years of parenting made a difference to prospective employers. If it did, I would be making a cushy salary and enjoying great benefits.
I wonder if a big bottom and bossy attitude is a requirement..........
Molly - same here, especially all I saw and heard and went through when my daughter was in a clinic for 3 years.
Bug - well rock band, Queen did say that big-bottomed girls make the rocking world go round.
"Lived experience" is our best teacher. And yet it means nothing when applying for a job.
I sing that song often, especially when weeding :)
hubbys cousin is applying for jobs right now. he is 18 years old and a junior in college -- graduated HS at age 16. sadly, he is having a tough time, since he has no "experience." people keep asking him what he has been doing and hes just like "well, um, im 18. and over halfway done with college. so, yknow, ive been doing that..."
Don't believe that Molly!
Ohhhh...Are you gonna take me home tonight? Ohhhhh, down beside that red firelight.
What kind of jobs is he applying for Eva?
http://tinyurl.com/anzzxf
molly, the help was absolutly hilarious!!
fireworks.
Oh good Lil Bit. Glad you girls had a good time.
When I interviewed with the school board, they asked me what would I do if.... questions which I answered. I got the job when I added, "But if I was doing my job right, it would never get to that state." When I was younger, I would not have had the courage to add that
va - my kids are experiencing just the same here in UK, both have got degrees. My stepdaughter tried to get a weekend job not long ago, was asked to leave her http://tinyurl.com/anzzxf.
Congrats to lurking Cos!!
:)
he has applied to work at a few banks (i assume as a teller) because he has a natural ability with numbers. he has also applied to be a cashier at the grocery store.
we did! thanks!
Eva, I meant.
i love grids with gerunds
have ag ood evening all :)
and i'm off to FB for a bit then off to bed! night all!
And those entry level jobs are giving him grief about no experience? Jeeze.
afternoon all :?
Hi to all babblers. I have returned to get my last 4 words
its just stupid that banks are giving him a hard time about not having job experience when, HELLO! he is 2.5 years ahead in school! maybe that makes up for a lack of experience?
I believe it is harder for younger people because they don't have the experience until someone is willing to take them on and train them.
I agree Eva. That is just the kind of young person I would want to hire.
It seems that all vacancies want 'experience' now, but if no one lets any one get any experieince, how the f**K are they supposed to progress?
Yes Jac, but meanwhile, they want to hire young people, who don't command a high salary and are easier on their benefit plans. It's absurd.
he hasnt even been able to do an internship because during that "free time" that most kids do them, he is either playing school sports or taking extra classes.
but exactly, molly -- he is exactly the kind of kid you WANT to hire. a go-getter!
A's Ambushed! 3 left
Go Min!
Eve, he can fill that gap by volunteering with an organization that will vouch for his work habits.
It's a mixed message employers are sending. They want experience, but won't pay people for that experience. They want younger people, who don't ask for high salaries, but won't hire those young people, because they have no experience.
he will figure it out; hes a smart kid. he worked for a month as a busboy, and if thats what it takes, he will take a more manual job just to get some sort of "experience"
that is what it takes Eva. Sad isn't it
I'm a little creeped out that banks won't hire him as a teller and grocery stores won't hire him as a cashier. Given the dim people that hold those jobs at my banks and grocery stores.
the grocery store is still a maybe, but the banks are requiring experience. but he really wants the banks job more...
he will find something soon Molly. Sometimes stores just don't have an opening when kids apply. He must keep going back
Agreed Bugs. Persistence pays off.
anywho, its WELL past my bedtime. eyelids are super-heavy. and i wont be around in the morning, since im not allowed to log onto the network at work -- i am FINALLY getting my name updated at work and have to stay offline for 4+ hours while they make all the needed changes!

hey all... my ar4/4 is planted in my comfy chair and is NOT moving until after "Design Star" is over! *determined mama look*
hah stid... you have me looking for an ar4/4 word and there isn't even any
LOL hey doren! who's in the icon?
not princess phoebe...
yes indeed... back about five years ago.. with her auntie rachel. of course phoebe is the only one who has aged
am down in VA visiting a dear aunt of my ex-husband, who had a mastectomy at age 88. going up saturday to pick up the princess and take her to martha's vineyard for the week
of course! LOL a dear friend we hadn't seen in over 11 years visited this weekend and stayed the night. I now have a pic of her daughter (who used to babysit stidkid#1) and the grandson --- my first words to my friend we4 "is she old enough for a baby???" and of course the daughter is now nearly 30!
time sure does fly, supersonic jets
oh, I do hope she will be okay. That's a rough thing to go through. AND that you will have fun with the princess!!! :-D
does the princess start school this year?
she's doing great (aunt juliet) she may be turning 89 in october, but she looks feels and acts like much much younger... great spirit. she's a pistol and yes, phoebe is entering kindergarten.. should be interesting
oh, I LOVE the name "Juliet"
yes, and my mother in law used to call her Juliet the good, cause she (juliet, the kid sister) was always so pure in heart and spirit..
:-D *pictures a lovely lady with snow-white hair with a halo of daisies and a rainbow in the background
haha - no snow white hair here... young and modern looking, but still so sweet... a butterfly collector
oh -- I want snow-white hair... someday. Right now, my "highlights" are silvery and rather alarming against the dark brown. *sigh*
unfortunately redheads don't turn white.. just fade into a very unattractive no-color kinda like straw but uglier
ah yes, I have known a few who did that. opportunity for buzz-cuts and electric green! LOL
