Definition is a Malay verse of indefinite length whose first and third quatrains repeat the second and fourth. Now don't forget to use it in a sentence, and it's yours!
nbs
padi
oops -- wrong box
Listing...
What, it's like a Malaysian limerick?
Interesting... the no/5/14 is the singular of the babblet no/4/4. Can't say as I've ever seen the singular in a puzzle before, though the no/4/4 is a common one.
Apparently, Molly. As soon as I typed it, I thought that the definition of a limerick would sound pretty bizarre and obscure too.
I might actually get a chance to use it--I'm going to Kuala Lumpur this July.
Jan, our international traveler.
We have a pretty international crew here at Babble.
Down to three...
And fireworks. First time for me in a while. Thanks to insomnia and some lovely cluing here.

*steals the bloody mary* mmmm just the way i like it

ohhh haha i thought you meant it was a drink that put you over the edge
sounded good
One is a musical composition Cos
lol hm maybe i should invent one :)
hm i thought so molly but i must be spelling it wrong
it would need grated coconut
agreed jmc!
what could you use for liquor that's white?
hmmm vanilla vodka
creme de cacao, is that white?
coconut rum?
The other is similar but ends with picnic pest
ok got one thanks...
ok got both :)
okay that is a good addition leslie
and a dollop of peppermint schnapps
This is the recipe I found:
then a peppermint stick swirler
1 1/2 oz advocaat liqueur 8 - 10 ozcold lemonade 1 slice lemon ice cubes
we done already made a better drink that that
that doesnt sound christmasty1
agreed jmc
what are we making?
new drink: the snowball
it s hould taste like the hostess snowball cake!
1 oz vanilla vodka 1/2 oz creme de cacao a drop of pepperment snaps rim the glass with grated coconut and stir with a peppermint candy cane
Dammit! Effing Jets!
we are brilliant.
... it was a nice pass
you know.. there is whipped cream vodka...
hmmm probably needs coconut rum too though
do i want to know molls?
sounds sweet
... no jmc I'm sorry ... you don't
well i guess i will have to experiment with flavours
20 -16 JMC
a little sweet kje --- it is a christmas drink
i imagine it in a martini glass
last christmas i made a really cool cocktail - used home made fir tree sorbet
damn i am guessing that is not the skins winning
ta5?
what the what kje!
looked just like this - very festive
Gads, the Broncos dropped behind too. I need a beer.
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/gia das-weekend-getaways/alpine-martini-re cipe/index.html
oooo that right it would have to be a frozen drink so the coconut could be sprinkled on top and then crushed peppermint candy
... the one I've got is the christmas show with a t instead of a p
ta5 - almots like the lone rangers sidekick
i made honeycrisp apple sangria for thanksgiving. it was fantastic.
thanks kje
Oh gross, you guys mix drinks way too sweet.
yw
how neat kje!
interesting, kje.
and thats fireworks
molly you should have kje's pine drink then ;)

hooray cosdem!
whoo hoo cosd!
!!! Cos !!!
it is very cool,jmc... and i got all th efir tree free from the guy at Home Depot who was trimming the trees for people.. and not to sweet, the gin makes it dry... you need a really good piney tasting gin
i think all gin tastes piney :)
so i found out today that the people my references were being contacted for the job in london
that sounds promising jmc
i love piney gin--i may have to go buy some upper shelf gin this week and make that for christmas day
? jmc - don't follow
nap time! bye all
are you applying for a job inlondon?
bye cos. sleep it off :)
sleep tight,cos
i applied for a quaker job in london and one of my references told me she was contacted
i used hendricks for that drink
so i made the second cut
cool! that woud be fun!
i got some gin in a blue bottle that i liked a lot
sapphire?
it would be nice to at very least go to london for the job interview!
i think the british gins are more piney
yes that is it leslie--i was to lazy to go downstairs and look
exactly, jmc!
hmmm i guess i would have to taste test british gins while i am there
the sacrifices we make for science
for science.
;)
i think you must, jmc

I think Its the weekend of march 3rd or so.
hmmm that may be possible--spring break is that week
i would love to meet you and kje
Hmmm, we already have a "beach house" rented, Nancy Keinzler is also coming, there is a little race that we are doing, but you dont have to do the race...
It actually may be sold out anyway the race.
I can wave on the side lines and have cold water for you to drink!
i have met nkrii before
I penciled it in on my google calendar
but check it out with the rest of them--i don't want to crash if they already have something in their heads and a non-runner would squelch their plans
Redskins lost : ( Broncos won : )
bummer
but now i can call my son
brb
figures he is now on his way here for mama to do this and that bbl
Oh JMC< its no biggie, lots of people coming, and most are wlaking the 5l...

Nick name for Gran
The middle middle n? I have those, I think
Oh, that one.
both use the other vowl
How many nicknames does Gran need, anyway?
hi peeps
As many as there are grandkids
touche.
Hi Hoot
soory Kap. Not being a wise gut. It is true thou. It depends on vocabulary and associations that are not obvious to grownups
hi molly
Wise gut. Indeed.
Good grief - and I haven't had a drop! guy guy!
I have only been offended once in all my months on chog, and this was not the time.
Now...
I''m not even telling when it was. Isn't that passive aggressive?
ok - I know I come across kinda weird sometimes. Just nudge me when I do
You did not come across as weird.
ok
but
Besides, if YOU'RE weird, what the heck am I?
babblers
I refuse to believe there are any more than 5 m's.
There are - think old lamb with a mid letter removed
And this extreme skepticism is another reason why I will not see fireworks tonight.
I have that mu. Is there more?
sure you will! what is old lamb called
Am I missing some fish that goes with the lamb?
I have the genetic deviant ninja.
first is an electrical thing
and pl
uh-oh.
then you mu** finish
then the one that isn't like all the rest
I monkeyed 4.
the lamb meat ant mix breed dogs in short
I got them.
ok!
do you have the pa8?
Yeah, I do.
pa 8 is the pl of the 7
weird word
May I have a clue please
I am missing a t. and nother t. and 4 n's.
I know Bichon
pa4 and weird ending- not a common word.
I kinda figured that
sounds like it could be turkish or something
ah, but it is a Malay verse form consisting of an indefinite number of quatrains with the second and fourth lines of each quatrain repeated as the first and third lines of the following one.
I know it's on the tip of your tongue.
I just wrote one the other day.
Do you have the N that 0% milk is?
No! Thanks!
Sneaky one!
okkk! How about the an7?
It settles your stomach Hoot
I do not hve it.
an 7/36 word is heartburn relief hootowl and hi there
YES!
hi min!
Hi to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing today
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
ty - a real fish!
I was not terribly overweight, but I got rid of 10 or 15 lbs of middle aged creep-on fat, and guess what? I think my heartburn disappeared.
I probably traded it for osteoperosis or something, but what the hell.
I stopped taking clcium supplements last year. Should I start again?
I have the clothing, villages, heartburn med. Also the Malay verse. What 7 am I missing?
I went to morewords for the pa - done!
Hello everybody :-)
Cheers.
Hello Soodle! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
Kap... I went to bed last night humming those songs...
an7, ca7, ca7, no7 and pa7
Hey Min :-). Im good thank you. And you?
ah. Tno7...
Oooh, thank you Hoot!
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.
yw
<------Lurves swing!
yeah!
*Cues up Glenn Miller's "In The Mood" *
oboy!
Pardon me Boy, is that the Chatanooga Choo Choo?
I'm next! Harry James!
I love that song, except the "boy" term is racist
I got my fare, and just a trifle to spare
Foxtrotting around the kitchen......... (Am wearing a tatty old dressing gown, which spoils the image somewhat..)
You leave the Pennsylvania station at a quarter to 4
Just think of him taling to any boy and you'll be ok!
read a magazine and you're in Baltimore.
Dinner in the diner, nothing could be finer,
I used to do a hellofa Jitterbug. I think I might injure something now.
Is that the cat who chewed my new shoes?
than to have your ham & eggs in Carolina/
The Porters were all African American though.
When you hear the whistle blowing 8 to the bar,
then you know that Tennessee is not very far...
Don't hold on to the bad stuff!
LOL Hoot :-)
I know, but it's unfortunately part of the history. I think Benny Goodman was the first to have an interracial Big Band.
Sorry. I was born & raised in NY and the last 7 years in Tenn have been a jolt back to the 50;s
Tatty Dressing Gown sounds like the name of a grunge band
In a good way>
They'll steal it now!
A Ne Yorker in Tennessee?
No kidding Hoot. Prejudice is alive and well down there.
Yup! Its the Soodle Swing look...
You guys serious? Are things really racist in the South?
I was amazed! I'd try to talk to someone in a supermarket and be snubbed. It's better since we got rid of the JA who was mayor for too long tho
very serious I'm afraid
Racism is very much alive and well, though in mu7 forms. Often subtle.
Oh my. I'm amazed to hear that. I thought the world had moved on............
It's not like the Jim Crow days, but it's definitely alive and well. Conscious and unconscious.
Well it is a lot better since we got rid of him. His only platform was that he was black and all the other blacks had to vote for him
what city hootowl??
No, Soodle, humans will always scapegoat, unfortunately.
Hello snags! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
He won the last election with 23% of the vote (6 candidates) then quit 2 months later!
memphis
ok.
ty min for the welcome
Stuck inside of Mobile with those Memphis blues again?
hoot, why did he quit?
I am okay soodle.Sorry for late response. Was doing a story of clues.
On the plus side, there is a lot of good blues in Memphis. : )
He actually ran against a white man who had been elected to a primarily black district on the basis that since he was black he deserved to take over.
To change the music genre....'When will we ever learn'.........
Graceland.
this was after he quit mayoring. He lost 69% voted for the white guy!
I m getting engrossed in chog and forgetting grid.
Of course, the very same thing is happening here in Ireland. We have had a huge influx of Nigerians here in the past 7/10 years, and its been a difficult transiton. Racism is alive and well all over. :-(
Maybe this will help you remember Kaplan the Magne..
they are learning. Slow but sure. But he spread his poison for better than 20 yrs so it'll take a while
here in the midwest, racism isn't .......... my daughters home is filled with kids of all races. they come to play and visit with my g/s's
I am ho 4/6ing on to my last three word until later so here is a story of clues.Husband ca6/21 seem to find a job.He has been out of work for two years.Hubby's da 4/8 if he thinks that I'm going to keep supporting him.Hubby mu4/6 get a job soon or else I am going to ou4/5 his butt out! I get pa4/6 a decent salary, but not enough to support two people. Things have been very tense and we have been on the ou4/5 for a long time. We sn 4/5 at each other all the time. He thinks I am a sn5/10 and all I care about is money. I tell him I am not a sn4/5, but I DO care about having food to eat and a place to live. I ca4/5 live under such tense conditions much longer.I've spent to4/4 of time here on Babbleland so I'm going to take a break. Now I am going to st 5/12 up and go watch the film Ca 5/12ball Run starring Burt Reynold.I will be back later to finish
It's sad to hear stuff like that Hoot.
When I was in NY I always had all the kids in the house. We deliberately picked a mixed neighborhood!
Racism doesn't just exist in the south. It exists in NY.
Well it is getting better. I've had women approch me to talk and that would never have happened 8 years ago.
Racism is very often covert and comes packaged in assumptions.
Min - Lovely story as always. Thank you :-)
we can only hope.
Is the story true Min?
Yes but it isn't like here. I dated black guys in NY. I had many black friends. Here I'm grateful that they stopped avaoiding me!
Yeah, I was thinking the story was kind of sad, not lovely.
Cultural adjustment for you, Hoot.
Yes, unfortunately it is very true. I'm at my wits end.
Is the story true?
Oh, I'm sorry.
I am sorry to hear that Min. {{hugs}}
Is he even trying to find work Min? I know that has got to be hard on you.
Racism in this country is particularly insidious. For generations, this country has exported its people - to the US, Canada, Oz. NZ..... And when the economy was good here, folk came here to seek a living. And met with hostility and racism. Shame on us.
Min, I am sorry,
I always thought it was part of your story.
Thanks car.eeyore and hello, welcome to the chat log
He might be depressed. Not that that helps.
It must be very difficult for you Min. You are a good person
((((Min)))). He is lucky he has such a lovely partner.
Yes, he is trying to find work.He has a few jobs here and there that just didn't work out. I also have some pressure from my parents who want me to leave him.
They would never outright tell me, but I know they do
that's awful. in this economy. What is his field?
Oh, Min... thats dreadful. You are being pulled in two different directions.
Hello peoples
Hello Mark
I'm sorry to hear that Min. That puts you in a very difficult position.
So sorry Min. Ppl only want what' s best in their opinion, but............. you know what is best for you.
Soodle and Min. It has been quite a while!
Hello Mark Jones! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
Hello Mark.
I am quite well, thank you.
Group hug for Min....Always cheerful, always welcoming and always giving lovely stories....
Hello. Just starting today's grid. Been finding decorations for our tree and making sticky buns. (Still working on them.)
My parents wanted me to stay with my ex. Diff generation. My mother & father I think hated each other but a divorce just isn't done.
Hello stidgmere! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
Hey stidg
Hi stidg.
Anyway, on that note, I have to go make dinner. BBL.
Bye min!
Hello minver. Hi mark.
Thinking of you ((((Min))))
Hang in there Min.
Hey Stidg (((())))
It must be hard for parents to see their daughter carrying the sole financial burden in the relationship.
bye min - bye all of you. My supper must be prepared also. bbl
But in this eonomy, these things do happen. And, quite frequently
Absolutely Molls. And bye Hoot. Take care.
Oh for sure Bich.
Hello Bich ((()))
I did a stint with a non-working partner and I understand Min's frustration.
Hi Soodle, Molly
clue please for no 6?
It's my husband who works. I retired at 62 and I never hear the end of it.
no 6 what a dieter might consume
What 0% milk is Car.
Good grief! TY both. Shameful fireworks for me.
<------Had a duvet day today. Cleaned the windows, scrubbed the kitdchen & bathroom. Not the usual 'lick and promise' ..... even got the retired toothbrush out to clean the bathroom. Feeling a bit sanctimonious.
Good for you Soodle...now come do my house!
A duvet day. That means cleaning. To me it means resting in bed and reading
Me too Bich, I was confused.
I do love it when I know that the house is "that" clean! It is a great feeling. Well done!
*Sending Soodle a grout brush*
OK. I am off to bed. I feel gross.
Night Car, hope you feel better.
I never got washed or dressed today... slobbered around in old duds, cleaning and polishing. I seem to have lost the ability to chlllax... :-(
((((Car))))
TY all! {{hugs}} and love!
<----- Loves Car!
I had the same kind of day Soodle, although I did get washed and dressed. The people at the grocery store get bothered when I don't.
good evening everyone:)
Hi crossy. I have sticky buns in the oven. If you can virtually arrive, you can have crumbled bacon on top of yours.
mmmm sticky buns....
I've just had a bath, so my fellow babblers can remove the clothes-pins from their noses....
Hello Cross!
Soodle, nothing like water to wash away the cares of the day.
howdy soodles:)
Oh, we know you do your Soodle ablutions before retiring to the Soodle boudoir.
Water, and some nice smelly stuff in the bath. during my cleaning frenzy. Fresh sheets on the bed as well, so a good nights sleep is assured.
are there any ph words in this grid?
Clean sheets and an open window assure me of a good night's sleep.
hi again, all!
No ph words.
Hello Sue :-)
Hi Sue

Oh, I think I like Soodle Boudoir better. Soodle Pit brings to mind wild animals and such.

Good morning all - the head is not workin this morning - am really struggling with today's puzzle
howdy tanja

Any particular word?
i don't know, i have 3 four letter an 1 five
Switch the last two letters of the pa4 that is what you have done with a bill

hi all
Singular of what you wear on your bottom half, plural of what you cook in.
Hi Jen
Plural of the 5
I can't count i only have4 fours
padia

There are only 4, 4's from that word. And a 5,6,7,8.

Add a vowel to the last 4
You said you had a five, I thought you already had it.

That ho4/6 is like help, but change vowel in the middle
yeah more word helped me with that

There is a story of clues in my profile Picklesny. Just click on my icon to see the story I wrote b4 Picklesny
Hello Babblers
This grid started out fine. I got the entire bottom row grayed out in no time at all.
I have slowed down after that.
Hello wht! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle.
You are so clever, Wht.

Hi Jacula. I'm here off & on waiting to enter last word
Thanks Jacula
Well, I finished earlier, if you need any clues. I came back in to read your clue story. I always enjoy them.
We look a bit pink, don't we? Well, pic isn't me, it's FMitch.
Hello all. I've been out a a Lions' club Xmas dinner for singles -- about 125 of us!
Incidentally, her cremation is happening on 13th December.
Just realised there's no E in this grid.
Jilli - I thought you had shingles? Don't give it to the singles!
Ha ha jac!
There may be no E but there are still 101 words.
Hello jillibus! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
Sorry, jilli. Me and my black humour!
I'm still hoping the shingles will go away quickly.
Jilli - I hope you caught it in time not to have the post Shingles pain.
Congratulations Jacula on finishing early! Way to go!
Thanks Min. It wasn't that early - the grid time said 4.16am, but it was later than that in the UK - more like early afternoon.
I've got one of those world clock thingies somewhere in my bookmarks, but I'm not really sure how to convert Babble time to UK time. It's 1.13am here in UK now.
713 pm babble time
1913
my real time is the same as babble time
Hello kje!How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log
So that's 18 hours' difference.
Hello kje.
6 hours, jac... you are the morning of the 5th now, we are the evening of the 4th
kje - my maths is rubbish. I'm great with words though!:-)
lol
your math was ok, you just went the wrong direction!
Ah!
My math is rubbish too which is why I play Babble and not Sudoku. Did go on that website to see if the chat log is like Babbleland. They don't seem to chat as much
Unless it was a time when everyone finished already.
they are concentrating, minver
Min - I joined up when it first began, too. But maths logic isn't my strong point. Thing is, and this is not logical, if the grid was done with letters, I could probably do it.
i am here
Hello Jen.
i have 3 screens up so i can't see the chat log!
I just checked out the chat log again in Sudoku.I see that evanadine and hurshy play Sudoku as well. When I scrolled down to the bottom of the chat log, I saw a post there from 4:30 in the morning.
Hi JenMO161 How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I'm not surprised that Hurshy plays - she generally wants the points value rather than a word clue here. We, or rather our brains, all work differently.
Min, ty for your story. I got a few clues there.
I wonder if Sudoku has daily icon themes like Babble.
yw wht
But I could use a clue fro the first so6.
Jen - you can open new windows instead and change the width of each window.
Not daughter + picnic pest Wht
yes, that is what i do
ty Molly
Hi wht. so6 (1st) = having sound or what Molly said. (Hi Molly, btw.)
Hey Jac
they would have to overlap
Jen - you need a larger monitor!
Just fixed a mistake in my story. The sn4/5 should be an sn 4/4 word. Hope I didn't confuse anyone before.
i have a laptop!!
OH, LOL. Sorry Jen.
I understood it from the context of the story Min, no worries.
okay, i have more words and the puzzle on top and lickety under both of them
And you are neither a sn4 nor a sn5, so there. : )
and i can see the chat
I usually babble with three windows open, babble, list and enable. Then I just switch from screen to screen.
Thanks MollyL!
Watched a programme on TV earlier about Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook. He's the same age as my son, who is also a computer geek. Why didn't my son invent the hugely profiable Facebook??
*profitable, I meant.
I do wish this site would get an 'edit' button!
i have seen the story on mark zuckerberg, pretty cool
help with the no6/27 please
no6, without grease.
like skim milk
oh, got it
no6 - skinny!
n's gone
clue for the no7, please
An N word that means the same as the an7
You assume I have the an7, Molly.
Oops, digestive relief Wht
an7, wht, is what you will need if you have indigestion or heartburn.
I've just been outside to put some stuff into the recycling bin and had to prise the lid open because it was frozen shut. My cousin up in Scotland had snow yesterday. It looks like we down in England are nt far behind.
ty Molly and jac
got both
y/w wht.
Hush and shhhhh. I do not want to hear mention of the S word.
Molly - I know what you mean! I don't either.
me neither, molly!
good evening everybody. How are you all tonight?
Hi Nef
hi nef!
better hurry! i got 27 left!!
Hello Nef. I'm recovering from a virus that has gripped me for about 3 weeks, the grid's all done and I'm here to chat and clue. How are you?
I have NBT so far; looking for the stats for the 8 please for NBS
Good Lord Jac, glad you are on the mend.
pa8/55 Nef, it's a weird word
pa 7/40 and pa 8/55 combo
yep, it's a weird word alright
Hello Nef! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle.
It's not a weird word if you are a poet and know how Malay verse is formed. LOL
oh no! the coldest air of the season is coming!
Think phantom of the opera and then change the way you say the ghost word a bit. Try saying it in s-l-o-w motion, for instance. LOL.
Poet, yes. Familiar with Malaysian verse formation...um...no.
I'm exhausted and stressed out. ALL of Auny's stuff was brought here from storage on Thursday and our son and dtr were supposed to help sort through it this weekend. Of course, DIL became a drama queen and our son had to deal with her all w/e and we had our grandson (who has reverted to needing diapers again. Sorry for venting; I'm done now
Aw (((Nef))) sorry it was such an emotional upheaval.
Molly - Poor Haz must have thought she'd got a heavy breather perv on the line when I range her the other day. She most most concerned about my breathing, as was my mother. The threat of pleurisy seems to have passed now.
Fireworks
Thanks.
Yay Wht!!!
Congratulations wht on your fireworks! Good for you
Jacula, glad you are on the mend!
Nef, deep breaths and a good night's sleep. Tomorrow is another day, as they say.
Nef - sorting stuff out is a nightmare! My MIL has been chucking stuff out since she was about 55 and she's 76 now, 'so people don't have so much stuff to sort out when I go'. The old lady over the road from me (in her mid 70s and only months younger than my vibrant and vital Mum) lives in a virtually empty house for the very same reason.
Congrats wht.
Nef, that is a lot to deal with.
thanks, Molly; and yes; tomorrow is another day (and it will be much better since we can now see walls and part of the floor in the front room
Haven't played this game regularly for a very long time, but at least tonight, I am doing the firework dance.
Nef, poor grand-boy. Sending some light his way. He has a lot to deal with, for a little guy.
wtg pbr
My Mum says she's making sure to leave me plenty to sort out. I know where she's 'coming from'. x
My Mum says she's making sure to leave me plenty to sort out. I know where she's 'coming from'. x
YAY, wht!!! WTG!!!
Yay, pbr!!! WTG!!!
Oops! Didn't mean to say that twice. Sorry!
I am done! I have fireworks!mu6/24 was my last word
Thx. I have missed you all. Good knowing the game is still going
Hello pbr! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle.
wtg min.
Well done pbr.
Congratulations pbr on your fireworks! Hooray for U!
YAY, MIM!!! WTG!!!
I am doing well. Between work, which requires travel, I just haven't had time for this..plus I have been playing pogo games.
yeah, min
We've welcomed quite a few old Babblers back in the past few days, some who haven't played for 4 years. Wonder what's drawing us all back in again?
I go through withdrawal if I don't babble for two days
It only needs Anj and Lola to appear again and I'm going to think magic is at work.
and FranMag
Min - I Babble on paper if I can't Babble on line. But that's only because Beloved has a phone that can pick the grid up. It would cost too much to text the words in or chat.
Hi. Fran is well she is busy with kids and such
I also believe that some of the lurkers have come out to wish love to FM's family
Hello herinfernallady! How are you? Welcome to puzzle
Franmag is around on FB. Actually, I haven't told her about Fiona's death. Hi Herin. Have you told her?
No I ahven't
The only family FM had left was her stepfather, herin. Like me, she was an only child.
Herin - should I let her know then?
I just did
howdy everyone back for a few more
Oh, okay Herin. Thanks for doing that.
Hello crossy.
Hi Crossie
Hello crosshair! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
Hi Mini too
Hi crossy
ty ladies for the fine welcome:))
and wht of course
I just got in Hi Wht
crosshair,do you know the "free" word program that can be downloaded from the internet. Used to have it
openoffice.org
Oh yeah, that's it!I knew I would know it once I saw it
Thanks!
it is great:)
Yes, I used to have it. The only problem is if I send it as an attachment to somebody who does not have it, they can't open it. But I don't want to pay for "Word"
My local store has a new product. Toblerone Triangles
windows office and open office should be able to talk to each other
You can always save the document as a Word document and send that, Min.
Toblerone Triangles is not new here.I LOVE Toblerone
I do that all the time
I'm a bit old-fashioned, I prefer Office.
Min - not new here either.
Sorry not Toblerone but Triangles. Like Crossaints with toblerone
I do not have Word which is why I need Open Office.
open office rocks
Herin - do you have Quality Street chocs in Aus? The do the big purple one and the big green triangle now.
it does not blind you with teenie tiny adjustments
Yes we do but I am not sure if the Supermarkets do and not Sweet stores
That sounds delicious! Hope it comes here to the U.S.
I somehow lost Miscrosoft Publisher when my son built me a new pc.:(
Min, Open Office lets you save documents in word format. When you save the document, there is a drop down for file type. Just select word document.
Min you could do it yourself with a croissant
i thought there was something like that why ty
Min - yes, everyone's two favourites in giant form. YUM.
Jac I have lost the disks for the full set of Office that I bought
Yeah, but then I would have to do it and I am LAZY!!!
wht, can I then open the document in word format if I don't have word? I'll have to download office and try
There are actually a couple of .doc formats. I use the one that has the longest list of compatabilities.
Open Office will read word documents as well. There may be some problems rendering if there are complicated things in the document, but for most normal things it works just fine.
Unfortunate we are, as that short man with the big ears, whose name I can't remember right now, would say, Herin. Starwars chap, I think? Keep being told his name, since when the hairs in Beloved's ears grow overlong, I want to tell him he looks like him. Damn this dratted menopause thing for zapping half my memory!
yoda
Thank you, Herin! That's the chap!
Or Jar Jar (but he makes me want to punch him in the head)
lol min,let everyone else stuck with word worry about being able to open it,as long as i can send it in word format, and i know they can open it,i will avoid word and windows office and the rest of it
Jar Jar is my stepdaughter, Herin.
OMG there is a guy on the view with the most sexist Barry White voice ever
sexist or sexiest?
What ever - Sexiest. Sorry Have only had One coffee and had to deal with the store of hell today
baby..got to have more of your love baby..crossy likes barry
We have been watching Sons of Anarchy and Ron Perlmen is dead set sexy voice.
crossy - she must mean sexist. Barry White may not have had the most attrative body in the world but he sure as hell had the sexist voice. It was so deep it vibrated through the seat he was sharing and turned women on. It wasn't much different through the 'woofers' on good hifi speakers either!
What a ballsup I made of that last post! Sexiest, attractive. GRR
Sorry I just haven't had enough coffee today
Crossy - stop singing that! My love needs his sleep since he's found some work from now until Christmas.
pa 7 pls
Hi big red - pa7 - a verse form consisting of a series of quatrains in which the second and fourth lines of each verse are repeated as the first and third lines of the next.
Jac totally random but what is the name of that English Soccer guy Vincient someone
Or try cooking pot + what sounds like a grave.
Vinnie Smith?
Vinnie Jones?
thanks jac
any of you ladies remember teddy pentagrast(sp)?
Vinnie Jones - yes, I knew it was a common surname.
Crossy - the name rings a bell. What are you about to tell us?
bigred - y/w
he was another low voice singer like barry white, used to make the ladies lat down at his feet
I am trying desperatly to remember a film that would have to be prior to 2003 soccer movie lots of violence about hooligans. I think it was called ID BUT nothing fits
lay
Chickens Lay :P
lol
Herin - The Longest Yard?
No English not USA
It isn't Green Street as that is too late
Gone In 60 Seconds? Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels?
No I have it. It is I.D. Stupid IMDB is being stupid
Mean Machine? X Men: The Last Stand?
But Thanks for helping.
I ahve it I haven't been able to find it
ot my sort of film, Herin. More Beloved's.
*Not
does anyone have a good clue for pa 7/40 and pa 8/55? has been a pita all day
Jac gave a great one at 8:21, crossy
crossy - we've been clueing it! Pay more attention! LOL
Hi neef
3 left.....
well then jacula hit me rith tween the eyes with it,i have seen 30 or 40 clues for it today and all not good
You wear them on you legs plus a vowel plus end of pirate drink
hi herin; how are you these days? (I've been too busy to Babble much this past week or so)
LOl, sorry baconman.xx
Getting there
GO, Jen Go!!!!
hi again all, in my office for a few before heading home
ty herin!!!! first clue that has worked all day!!!
meetings and stuff all day tomorrow, had to print out some things ahead of time
pa 7/40 word is pa 5/12 word plus **pire of a baseball game and pa 8/55 word is plural of the pa 7/40 word.
yaa for herin!!!
You need basic clues I give them. I am feeling on the edge of licking window special today
Hello uusue2! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
sue, you are working late Sunday night? YUK!!!
Crossy - just for you... pa7/40 is an anagram of 'manpout'.:-)
you were always my favorite herin;)
LOL! That's a great clue Jacula!
Thanks Min.:-)
Hi Sue
Bacon man is cuddling up to that Herin woman now. LOL
He's so fickle!
pfft
He wouldn't dare attend a Bable meet because he'd get thumped by so many women for chog unfaithfullness and thumped by his wife as well! LOL
Herin - did you just pass wind?
No Ewww
I stopped by my office to print out a few things so I don't have to get in quite so early tomorrow morning :-)
2
Are you sure? Or was it one of the cats?
hahaha
firewords!
Sue - good idea!
YAY, Jen!! WTG!!!
Jen - well done.
Congratulations JenMO16 on fireworks! Good for you
geez....last two words were what you watch on TV on Sat.
yay, jen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yah Jen
tbh crossy is a one woman man..do not have the strength for another lol
Or the patience?
Crossy - LOL. At least you're honest! Just like my man.
this jen is a NO man woman :0)
Herin - that, too!
Jen - by choice or do you want one?
O dear I just realised it is that time of year again
well jacula..after amost 19 years of wedded bliss and 2 year dating all i know about ladies is that it has something to do with chocolate...:)
What time of year, Herin? Christmas? I haven't acknowledged the fact fully yet.
by choice Jac
don't need one messing up my life!
anyway I have my printouts now and am heading home, see you all later!
crossy - you know full well it's far more than that, but you can sometimes offer chocolate at arms length to save yourself.
YEs that and himselfs office function is soon - Which means him getting home at 7am and possibly ringing me at 6am to talk ot me and Yell PIGEON
see you later, sue
'Bye sue. See you again.
and I know what you mean, jen, have a great man in my life now, finally, but am dealing with some pretty awful messes left by the earlier ones
Goodbye uusue2! I will see you tomorrow in the chog.
Bye Sue
Herin - why is he likely to yell 'PIGEON'?
sue,my wife came to me from a horrible past relationship and i am bessed that she truest me and loved me enough to let herself relax and love without fear again
Jac last year he was drunk and on the phone to me and a pigeon walked passed him so he felt the need to yell PIGEON down the phone at me
blessed
trust
Crossy - I know your story.
Jen I could suggest the fairer of the species instead of stinky men folk but sometimes they are just as bitchy
nice true story, crosshair! Good salve for going through divorce now for me..
hi all
yep
lol,my wife say every woman in addition to a husband need a good house wife
Hello Babs1!How are you doing?Welcome to the puzzle
O Please excuse me whilst I beat my head on the desk because of the sexist bullshit on the view
Hi jmcnrick! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
hi jmc and Babs
well, i am going to move on...i will see everyone tomorrow!
i am reasonably happy
i am sorry babs, this rough time will pass you you will be better for it on the other side
thanks, minver! doing okay..just working on courage to complete divorce and take on all the stuff left behind to deal with...
bye jen
clues for i?
Bab's life hands you lemons demand vodka
Jen - women are much more bitchy - they know exactly what hurts. Just take some time to get in touch with yourself. I took 10 years, with the odd foray into you know what where I didn't give a sh*t. When the right one comes, those old romance books are right, things spark and crackle and you just KNOW.
id 4/5 word is American Id** or singer Billy Id** Babs1.
good thing about hitting your head on a desk herin,is that it feels so good when ity stop..plus it burns 90 calries per hour!!
id 4,5 image of a god
i had 13 marriage proposals but only one hubby
it took a long time and i was lucky i didn't marry sooner
Cross apparently little girls like dolls boys like cars.
hi wht
Hi jmc, you fox.
crossy - please stop telling Herin it's a good idea to bash her brains in on a piece of furniture.
hard to imagine now wht haha but i was a vixen for sure
really,my sister used to do motocross dirt bikes
but whatever works for you herin;)
i always liked cars myself
My friend is sick to death of people saying ''O Rilley what a lovely little boy you have'' No she is a girl and wears boy's clothes because she is just over a year old and gets into everything
used to help daddy work on ours until one of his drunk buddies told him girls shouldn't work on cars
I've got a tomboy for a stepdaughter.
lol, utill they went fuel injection my sis and i used to always tear down carbs and tune the machine
And then you hit him with a wrench JM?
jmc - I'm with Herin on hit him with a wrench.
no but i told him it was too late to decide that now (i was 16) and he looked at me and shrugged his shoulders and said your probably right
and herin,my mum taught me to knit,so do not label me with a sexist tag
good grief!..best to say goodnight i think tc all..poink
he never said it again and when i totaled my vw he and i dropped the motor and installed a new one together
bye crossy
Nothing wrong with a man knitting, crossy. Fishermen need that skill.
'Night crossy.
i taught my son to mend and to cook and to change a tire--if i had had a girl i would have taught her the same
It was actually MEN who first invented knitting - making nets, ropes etc.
Bye Crossie and why would I.
Some of the best male surgeons knit
any clues for i and o in first left column?
id4
Herin - I hope they do fine knitting with 2-ply thread!
od4
oh4,5. Like the state between Pennsylvania and Indiana. Change the last letter
AND I am not saying there isn't girl surgeons
hi all,hows the grid?
thanks all..mea culpa for i fish!
jmc - and God said, thou shalt not have an id4 but me, no false id4s.
oh not too bad
i was giving clues jac but ty
Fish me for missing that Id
*tosses herin a halibut*
Fish is fine, we were just talking about making nets.
There is a serious thought of going for a nap
so 6/18 pls, the first one
sory jmc.
musical piece?
np dear hard to tell sometimes
first is not daughter + picnic pest
i have the music one
no the first so6 means having sound.
how about the 8 letter word
thank you.
pa5 + hesitant sound
If an animal is sleeping, it is dorm + picnic pest. Change a ouple of letters for the word you seek.
Thatt was a clue for the 1st so6.
A pa8/55 word is plural of the pa 7/40 word Picklesny
I assume you've all read my full bio re FMitch now?
Wow I just had heart failure. I thought my cat was outside
an 7 pls
Why would yu have heart failure if your at was outside?
nm found it
thanks for the information about FMitch, jac
big red - you'd want an7 if you had indigestion or heartburn.
sorry to hear about FMitch!
Because Lucius and Pandora are inside cats. I saw a black tail go past the window. It was one of the builders dogs
Oh, okay Herin.
<--- also has indoor cats
hi uu
thanks for the info jac i sent him a note
hi again, jmc!
I just saw a black tail go past. Frightened me.
thanks jac
Pandora is on the ledge in the kitchen so I didn't have the usual spat to get my attention
Babs and Sue, please donate if you can. FMitch's illness might be seen as a weaknes by some, but, beleive me it's a real illness.
an
hi pc
It is time for me to toddle off. Good night all.
I know it well, jac, and will scrape together some $$ if i can

Indian shift gown Shirlock, hippies loved them back in th 60s.
Thank you Jac.

I just wish FM knew how much she was loved by all.
Herin - re Fmitch post. ((xxx))
ca6/30 is a long garment having long sleeves&tied at the waist by a girdle, worn under a coat in the Middle East Shirlockc and hello there! How are you tonight?
thx for the ca6 jmc
I think she knew
yw
I think FM did know, Herin.
hi ru -- i hope she did know
everyone liked her
I mean in the sense that I bugger it I know what mean
true you have to love someone to blame them for every thing
min i hope the story is fiction tonight and your hubby has not been out of work for so long!
oh.. then that means mrs ru loves me
haha i suspect she does ru
2 years' older, 2 stone 'lighter, life history not quite the same but but not that different, there but for the grace of God or Gaia go I!
OK well what I mean is I just wish she had the strength not to hurt herself and that I wish everyone's love and support was enough
((((herin)))) I agree
ah well herin there we definitely agree
Hi There Ru
I am so glad that you're not judging her. I was worried if the details came out that some would.
help with the last ca6 please
no i think most people in babbleland are relatively nonjudmental even when we disagree
plural off the singing ca5, jmc.
plural off the singing ca5, jmc.
Frank's mother had the same problem, jac, I suspect many of us know others who do
ah ty jac
I don't judge I just wish sometimes that people who hurt themselves realised how much some were they are loved
herin throw that halibut back
y/w jmc
my daddy and my brother and his twin sister for example
Herin - I know what you mean because my kids keep saying that to me, even after my daughter tried to kill herself by starving herself to death for years.
I have been in and out of AlAnon several times, Jac. Lots of alcoholics in my (and DH's) families. Alcoholism is an illness and I've seen the severe effects of the disease when I worked in ICU.
I still have to zap back from the dad going bonkers and then dying, the daughter trying to starver herself to death, oh and the sudden divorce that happened just into my Dad losing his mind.
rough
I have been told my birth father was a drinker and gambler hence the reason for me never to gamble or get into a habit of drinking
good night all
Don't worry! I'm a survivor. I won't be going down Fm's route, though I tried to for a time. I once thought that I did not want to be around any more and thought the best way to go was to slowly kill myself whilst I waited for my children to grow up. Howwever, before they'd fully grown up, they caught onto what i was doing and told me NO WAY! They still watch me closely now.
so have I said that I'm going to bed? I think I have to say it at least 4 times before I actually do it...
Ngith Pickles
((((jac))))
Night Sue
bye uu
Sue - you got it, thanks.
'Night sue. sleep well.
good for your kids
Thinking more and more a nap is in order
night, all, who knew that a game like babble would be such a source of love and support? love you all!!
i took a nap yesterday
We watched Sons of Anarchy all day yesterday
During the killing myself years I had a boyfriend who's since died due to drink and cigarettes.
Goodbye Picklesny! I will see you tomorrow in the log.

His 2nd wife, after me and him, sent me hs funeral stuff - he4 was a poet, as am I. She sent such a lot, her stuff, his stuff, my stuff etc.

It's been a year and I have to reply to it come Christmas. I'm note sure; a few issues from the past. I did do what he wanted at the time of his committment to the ashes andd listened to Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell at the time it was happening.
thanks for sharing so much jac...
no5?
I'm just reading his wife who had to take on my mantle's letter again now, the one she sent me last Christmas. But, she was the one who begged me start riting to him again to keep their marriage alive. I was his 'muse', you see. Even though I'd rejected him in the end, though iI loved him, he neededd me to keep on. Well, that's what she told me.
