This is my first evening home and I'm alone, learning how to cope with the wheelchair. The leg sticking out is a bit of a nuisance but I have to keep it up. I did manage to get supper by myself. Tomorrow I get home support and Meals on Wheels.

there is still the possibility that even someone playing games on FB is not the person you think it is, I played with someone who was a friend for years, then found out that during the last year or so, it was really her daughter playing her account, mom was busy with real life. sad for sure, a couple of years ago several of us on another game site started a fund to buy one of our fellow buddies a PC - he was going to have to give up the site because his was so old and junky, he's raising his kids alone, etc. we contributed, one person bought it and sent it, he got it... it was one of the nicest things I've ever been involved in.

I think screen shot of chipin is a good idea. she pretty much made a contract by writing that. chipin won't get involved. They're pretty explicit about that in their rules. I assume you'd have to take her to small claims court.

i didn;t go to the doctor as they don;t do anything - i just took ibuprofen as that seems to help a bit - no other painkillers do
what's a steroid taper, anyway?
prednisone, prednisilone or the like... start medium dose and quickly taper off in about 5-7 days. Clears gout really fast
i did think i should perhaps go and get some ibuprofen gel as it might work better than tablets but walking was so painful in shoes that I didn;t go to the chemost!

but high dose ibuprofen works well if you start it as soon as you get a twinge

We will fly to Tel Aviv, spend a couple of days in Abu Ghosh (which I will have to find on a map), then drive down to Kibbutz Yahel (about 60 km north of Eilat) for the wedding
then some touring around the Dead Sea/Galilee/Jerusalem for a few days with the relatives, then home
I've been there before too but it's been a while - I am SOOOO looking forward to getting away! And my ex's sisters are good friends of mine, it will be good to see all of them too
There is so much to see in Israel. Do you want to see Christian sites, ruins? I would suggest Masada near the Dead Sea

Yeah, I had the same thing...once service came back after I unplugged everything...second time ite was the wires connecting the inside service to the outside box, they were rusty...skun them back and reconnected and has been fine ever since

I find the whole money collection story very distressing. I wonder why checks were made out to this person, instead of the person they are going to. And personally, I found the person who collected the money very sweet and good natured, so it's hard for me to believe bad things about her.

There were also people who sent personal checks, the idea was to combine all the money, convert it to a form that would be readily usable by mrp in Australia (since sending personal checks there made out in US dollars is not the best way).
Then it really is odd. Chipin was so easy!
Well, hindsight is 20/20, but you take a big risk sending personal checks to a person you have never even met before. I mean we would all love to believe the best about each other, but we are just words on a screen to each other.
some people don't want to use online donation systems
and some of the online systems are pretty US-centric, have trouble dealing with non-US contributions
from what i iunderstand -- you can file a complaint with paypal but not with chipin
