I hate to miss anyone who helps when we do community help.
Seamstress took in too much in one area and didn't have the bussle (sp?) correct...
as long as the hustle was right
I wanted to punch someone, especially when I saw my daughter tear up...
LOL hopefully it will all be perfect on Wed.
oh dear, hope that works out - I used to make bridesmaid dresses, can be tricky
get married in a real small town and you won't have to worry about those two
my guess is a pin fell out at last fitting and they guessed on the bodice...
so true dart. It is a whole new ballgame in a big city.
get married in the front yard like we did, avoid all the stress
I was firm enough; she won't be charged for that alteration.
Put on my old business face and voice, so they knew I was serious.
wtg!!! :)
Now just praying it is done as was described...
now I'm stuck..
As much as they alter wedding dresses, almost think they should start from scratch, rb...
list in my profile ru
trip to take wife to airport in 3.5 hrs...gonna try to get a couple hours of sleep...nite all

nite, dart!

LOL
that would be work ruru...i'm retired now :)
*wink wink*
I have to get up and pick up our son from work at 7:00 AM, his first night on the night shift, I expect he'll be pooped
bet he'll be exhausted
I used to work graveyard in college
sure is peaceful here without him all night, lol, could get used to this
it's not too bad.. you just need it quiet around the house during the day
pooof
yes, Hubby worked the night shift for 8 or 9 years, just stopped last year, we have the routine down pretty well
lots of tiptoeing around, haha
It was always weird trying to go to sleep after working all night though
Hubs used to sleep in shifts, 4 in the morning and 4 later on
don't know how he could do it, but it worked for him
that way he got up in the middle of the day and got some stuff done out in his shop
bet that took a toll physically
I think so, but he wouldn't admit to it. Of course now he's gone on disability, so I think it's a moot point.
not really.. I don't look a day over 80
heehee!
LOL ru
When is your surgery ru?
end Of Jan I think dee..I'm seeing the doctor and have to work things out with my health insurance for pre-authorization
thank god I''m not catholic
Why is that?
I'd never be able to kneel down to pray.
have him take a tuck here and there while you're in there, ru, take care of those 80-yr-old looking wrinkles, lol ;p
exactly rbud
lol...
Surprisingly, hubby got approved within 24 hours, so he had surgery morning after he saw his doc.
I am not in THAT much of a hurry dee.. jeeez
He still has some strengthening to do, but sharp pain is gone, just achey once in awhile.
He was ready to get it over with, ru; he was pretty tired of the pain.
I desperately want to be able to play tennis again
I will be really surprised if you can't. My cleaning lady had one knee done a year ago, and there is little she can't do. She did so well she is getting the other one done in a few months.
Behaving in therapy seems to be the key.
oh.. I have a hard time behaving anywhere
LOL but if you want to play tennis again, you will have to re-strengthen your muscles ... specially the quad muscle.
what does the 9 begin with?

Hi people.

Hi Dee!

hi neil
Hi rbud and ruru!
Nice co9.
you missed some great puns earlier neil..
I would have had a three row groan for sure
I'm glad to know that ru... my timing was good. ;)
I'm made to suffer enough by my dad.
**FIREWORDS** thnx for all the clues and lists...xxx
WTG dizgrannie!
wtg diz!!! yqw
TY TY
I guess there's already a list then?
I'll have to chat and crack jokes with your dad someday
I'll make sure I'm out of hearing range.
That could be bad!
OH..lol
in my profile neil
Oh don't need it... just wondering if one was done already. Because then I don't need to.
So cool. :)
I knew you didn't need it neil, I was just answering your question.
sh5,12 and sh6,21 I run into a lot in other games.
Yeah, I see.
yeah.. just people like me need them..slllllllowwww
You are not slow, ru.
I was tonight.. probably the meds..
definitely not slow, ru
Hey, you're probably still faster than a lot of people.
I'm slower than usual too... but I'm pretty tired.
I almost always have stragglers that take me for ever to locate.
it's amazing in the small grids how you guys find the weird words so easily
Uhhh, ruru. If you saw the word games I play... those are regular words for me. :P
That's probably why.
not sure I'd use he 6/24 in general conversation
when do you have time neil?
For me it depends on where the letters are located... how many different possibilities there are.
There's a lot of them you'd never use in conversation... unless you were pretty weird. If that's even in question? lol
When do I have time? I'm still unemployed.
Clues are up
And I don't have to do all the housework and cooking, etc. by myself anymore.
Hi mrp! :)
hi prezzie
And I'm not playing them on a daily basis... just kind of here and there, when I find the time.
oh.. jeez. I barely have time for this and occasionally weboggle
You play that?
Where at?
I might spend 15-30 minutes playing something like that while I have my morning coffee... again at lunch, then maybe again in the evening for a little while... but not always.
Some days, not at all... just depends.
You haven't seen me on here all that much lately.
I just go to weboggle on google and it brings me there
I usually do pretty well there. there are some players that kick my ass pretty well though
I haven't been to weboggle for almost a year...
it's a finicky site.. it has trouble reloading sometimes
I'd take you on there dee sometime.. we used to Boggle together
I think you would whomp me now... have lost a lot of my speed.
Definitely the site needs work.
I'm faster with the mouse.. but typing has improved
I miss tanglewords.... the people, the site, the set-up
Oh I see... so you'd play Dee but not me huh?
I have very fast touch-typing speed.
I don't know how people play those games with a mouse... couldn't do it.
i'll play you sometime neil
You've gotta get on OMGPOP ru.
You can click a link to get your password reset.
I used to be a killer boggle player with a mouse
That's not a problem.
dart always used a mouse at tanglewords
Yeah?
too many fake words on OMG it's silly
You can use a mouse in Word Racer on Yahoo too... but it's just so damn slow compared to typing!
I don't think the words here that don't have definitions should be allowed either.
okay.. heading off to go read.. trying to finish two books
okay.. heading off to go read.. trying to finish two books
I agree... there are some words in that Letterblox game that just aren't words at all. They're like abbreviations, which shouldn't be allowed.
Yeah, I'm returning to bed... to sleep this time.
Hey ru... if you're an avid reader you should join the Babblers Who Read group on www.goodreads.com.
well, I need to get going, too. Hugs to all & sleep well.
Think I sent you an invite... check Gmail?
Yeah. Good night ans sleep well Dee.
and, even
night
ru?
Did you see what I said?
I just sent a group invite to you from there.
Anyway have a good night... take care.
neil--i'm on goodreads. how do you find the group?
can't find it either Jayk. Although I must admit I did not do as well as I thought on the few trivia questions I answered!
guess we just missed neil
well he is on every evening (PST) so we can ask tomorrow.
true. it's 4:30 am here, minimal overlap for me
geeze where are you and why are you up so early/late? It is almost 2 am here- couldn't sleep and wanted to finish todays puzzle.
my husband snores!!.........i'm in atlanta
that gave me a laugh! Atlanta Georgia? What's you weather like? I only ask because we are having a "Canadian winter" -- some snow but absolutley treacherous roads -- the road to my place was closed by the RCMP because of black ice, even the officers were falling and slipping. Many cars "off road" ie in ditches.
i lived many years in VT, so i know black ice all too well! winters fairly mild here--sometimes it freezes or goes to 20 even, but that's about it
do you miss the weather extremes? Even though I gripe a lot, I really enjoy the seasons. Usually in Victoria near where I live, has a calm mediterrean climate. (Pls excuse spelling - I am not a good typist)
SORT of..but i DON'T miss shoveling a driveway or scraping ice off the car windows
Victoria is lovely--must be wonderful to live there
You are right on that. Not so much Victoria - a lovely city -- but we have truly wild wilderness about half an hour away. Where I live is IN the wilderness - my cabin backs onto a gazillion acres of parkland and my front view is ocean. I looked at your profile; what is a development consultant? Do you enjoy your work?
It is till amazing to me Luddite that I am, to talk in real time with someone from Atlanta - a place that seems wonderful.
someone who helps organizations raise money. most of the time, yes. some days it's a slog
*still
Not for profit?
:). the internet does put a big dent in Luddism. doesn't it?
yes, nonprofits
Actually the term Luddite has been stigmatized.
well, that's true
I can imagine the fulfillment that might bring you if you believe in the cause, but it I agree, an awful slog if you don't. Can you disclose what type of NPs (not their names of couse)
i free-lance, so mostly for refugee and homeless-serving nonprofits. also a lot of Head Start/early childhood development
wow. that is indeed altruistic of you. I am glad it's not for a politician!
it's not THAT altruistic: they're paying me, after all. But yes, those are the causes dearest to my heart
do you work?
sounds a bit like my life: After years of beeing a book publisher I became ill and had to retire early and can only make ends meet by freelancing editing books, etc, ANYthing! But most of my time is dedicated to saving the wilderness that we still have -- we are being overwhelmed by seedy developers. I work at that, run a boat to collect water samples, sit on committees to create parks and prevent further encroachment. The deer are so numerous in the cities here that many places are carrying out a "cull" (palatable way of saying "kill". I still wish I had a REAL paycheque.
i'm semi-retired, myself. so not working all the time, thank god. free-lancing is lovely as long as the work keeps coming, right? but lately i don't have as much of it--a lot of nps unwisely cut back on fundraising in a recession.
I also look after vacation houses and cats in the neighbourhood.
we've had deer in our yard. i nearly fell off my chair the first time i saw them here
Right!! (about the work coming in...)
Deer? You have deer? Our region has had a terrible problem (mainly because housing developments have left them homeless). Maybe you should invest in deer fencing! It's booming here.
and we don't live in any wilderness--a regular city neighborhood, though heavily treed
Victoria, "the city of gardens" is getting eaten up. The deer (and cougars--pumas maybe to you?) are strolling around city streets and once a cougar got into the Empress Hotel! Dangerous if you are driving. They also get hormonally wild and attack dogs. Nothing like Banff Alberta where they have Moose all over the place and they are scary! But for me, I don't walk in the woods any more since I ran into a cougar. It had a very gamey intense smell. I write articles in local papers about how to deal with them and be safe.
In Vancover, the deer even have learned to use the green/red lights to cross streets!
OMG. were you terrified?
you're kidding, right?
No, not really. I had a bit of a warning in that I saw it's fresh pawprints in some mud, smelled the indescribable smell, made some noise and backed out carefully. Unfortunately I was a mile or so into the brush - bushwhacking. And after I got to a road, THEN I was terrified.
Kidding about the deer usung the green lights --- no.
they just wander about freely?!!
the cougars, yes. the deer are now everywhere. The cougars eat off-leash small dogs. There aren't THAT many cougars - they are solitary creatures -- but the sightings cause the usual panic. There has only been a few cougar on human attacks but you wouldn't know it from the news.
there are deer in downtown???
oh yes.
how do they survive? other than eating what's left of people's gardens
but mostlyin all the bedroom communities too
they survive really well, as I mentioned Victoria has a (usually) mild climate for Canada so food is available year-round. I am in a much different climate zone than Victoria. They munch, munch, munch away on plants that nurseries claim as "deer-proof"!
like "squirrel-proof" bird feeders :)
I had a stag poke its head into my bedroom window one night - it had climbed up the stairs to the deck! Scared the whatnot out of my cat and me. Scared it too - it took a running leap over the deck. Had forgotten that til just now.
Squirrel proof bird feeders exist? Only in a marketer's eye!
I don't know why they are coming into Atlanta, the deer, I mean.
there's a very pricey feeder whose little bird-perching-thingys are soft--enough to hold a bird but the weight of a squirrel sends them to the ground. it took our squirrels half a day to figure out how to get around THAT.
Oh no! Cute little rodents. Rats climb along the telephone wire to get to bird feeders. With a cat, I figure if I put out a bird-feeder, it would end up as a cat-feeder.
maybe not. our cat is attentive but either too lazy or too stupid to figure out how to actually OBTAIN a bird
good morning :)
any clues for the 9?
morning!
Jayk, I am getting weary now and will have to go. I hope you husband gets respite from snoring so that you can get a good sleep! I have seen you on before (I am a "sometimes lurker" so when I see you again, I'll check in with you. I have rreally enjoyed chatting with you. Sleep well! aah, I see the morning crowd is arriving.
throw a party with another person
Thank you, that got me 4 words that had stumped me until now.
thank you :)
with 35 left, I must get to the gym.... see you later.
Later, Saanichcat!
later, Jayk!
Good day to all. Hi Jayk, my INTJ comrade.
No one was here for an hour.
BRB with breakfast.
Hm, I am still alone here. Hi lurkers.
Hi Scrabbler, just come back for my last 40
lunchtime here
Hi Glant. I was going to continue the conversation with myself.
I can leave you to thta if you prefer????
M, the ENTP, would find thta very easy (not)
I can still talk with myself. I just won't type it out.
I do that all the time
You are an ENTP?
yes
Learning about personality types is fascinating. Observing people is fascinating.
absolutely
years ago I did a Belbin personality mtest and wanted the result to show that I was a 'plant'. I turned out to be a completer finisher
I did one again last year and am now the 'plant. Actually I never manage to complete and finish anything any more, and it drives me nuts LOL
I will have to read about the Belbin test.
it sorts you into team roles, and plant (ideas person) is now my strongest trait
I have a stong tyrait in several others, and there is one which I am very weak on - can't remember what that is though
Aha. Very interesting.
I think Belbin scores change according to life experience - you get more balanced and rounded as you get older. Well, most people do.
Taking personality/psychological tests is fun.
My phantoms in this grid = siesta and fiesta.
The roles Belbin idenitifed are: Shaper (provides drie, vision & impetus), Plant (creative source of ideas), Mnitor Evaluator (devil's advocate), completer finisher (keep team on track, detail person), implementer (proctiocal thinker, sytems person), resource investigator (networker, finder if things), team worker (interpersonal relationship facilitator), co-ordinator (makes sure everybody has their say), and specialist (knowledge peron, often disinteressted in others)
scuse my typing
i am not a specialist, and my co-ordinator score was weak
Hm, I could see myself as Shaper, Completer, and Specialist. I will find the test later, during lunch break at work.
I have difficulty with arrogant, egotistical, micromanaging leaders....a former boss played that role.
i have had one of those too - unpleasant to work for
Yes. I speak with former co-workers to hear ongoing horror stories, and I urge them to escape the abuse.
my current head of department has no people skills whatsoever - never talks to anybody other than when she wants something, and when she wants something it usually has an unreasonable deadline
I still have nightmares. I think I have PTSD from 12 yrs of abuse.
i took a grievance case against my arrogrant micromanaging one
improved things shirt term but began to slip after about a month so I found another job
The Peter Principle--people rise to positions for which they are not competent. That sounds like her.
i am sorting through my things at the moment, preparing to move house, and came across the paperwork for the grievance (5 years ago) and it was such a relief to put it in the recycling, knowing it i all well behind me
When I awaken from one of my nightmares I am proud that I left that former job.
I suspect the current head of department has been 'promoted up'
you don;t realise quite how insidious it is, and how much iot affects every aspect of your being until you leave
what do you do Scrabs?
Well, I must get ready to leave for work. As usual I am running behind, because I would prefer to talk with you here. We must continue this discussion sometime, about co-workers.
I am a pediatrician.
At least you are making a difference to young people's lives - have a good day
Yes, I experienced physical, mental, emotional stress for too many years. I stayed for the kids and families then realized I needed to leave. OK, enjoy the day!!
Okay now I'm freaked. I just came on and I have 4 words. How did they get here? Did I possibly do this in my sleep?
oooer, scary!
I honestly do not remember getting up in the night.
sleepwalking?
you didn;t type them at the flip, just thinking they were part of yesterdays puzzle?
I used to do that a lot. But I haven't for a couple of years. Weird!
fireworks
right, off to do some more packing
happy babbling gramma and all lurkers
I need to fix breakfast for the grands.
morning friends. wow, nbt was a cake walk today!
Hi Trif
hello molly. I am so glad you and I have been chogging at the same time recently. always so nice to "see" a friendly face
woooo, just found my word of the week, methinks! the co 4/8. THAT is gonna come in handy!
sorry - the second one
hello everyone
plural it, Trif
annie, how wonderful to see you! I haven't chatted with you in ages, but saw in the chog you were unwell. are things better, I hope?
thanks annie - for once I remembered to do it myself! will wonders never cease?
Hi Trif, So happy to say I am much better and happy to be here and to see you.
Trif, How are your children?
just fine thanks. Primo is back at college, secondo is leaving on saturday for her big adventure in Oz, and I am fairly certain tertiare is digging the idea of being an only child for three months!
how is your family, dear?
Trif, Sounds like fun for both you and them. Bobby and Liz and grands are just fine.
"the grands" == such a cute expression!
and they are grand.
From a gramma's point of view, of course
of course! clearly advanced, and MUCH better looking than all the other grands out there, as it should be!
Of course!
enable has no love for the "hooha" I see....lol
You havent posted any of Primo's art in a while.
it's a bit r rated, now that he is in college - lots of copies of master'
master's nudes and such....wasn't sure it was babble appropriate
Why not? dear Trif. They are in museums. I think we can handle it. I just love his work.
hi all
Hi jmc :)
he has really developed a love for architecture...one of his assignments was to do an architectural drawing of a common object, so he did his turkey sandwich. I rolled laughing
haven't seen you in a while annie how are you doing?
jmc, I am fine now and glad to see you
annie, here you go.....but be warned...some it is definitely mature audiences only:
http://tristanatmassart.tumblr.com/
now?
Trif, That is hilarious.
morning jmc
Dagwood Bumstead would be proud
hi trif
that is a tumblr site where he has put some of his work online-- and yes, the sandwich is there!
oh, I used to love blondie! haven't thought about her in years. thanks for a good memory job, molly
I am on Expert and dont know how to open it. I will open it when I go onto AOL.
Hi Molly
hi molls

Hi (((Mom))) and kje (hugs too)
((((Annie)))) good morning
I am annie.
Hi ((Mom))
2Bit, I hope you didn't break too much of a sweat working on that bottom row. : P
Annie, I hope to answer your email today. Annie is here and I have given her a rub for you
Trif, I looked at Primo's art work. He is VERY talented. I love Satan in high heels, the turkey sandwich, all of his work.
Mom, no rush, when you have the time
good morning to the morning crew -
yawn.
thanks annie. he is crazy good, isn't he? I claim no glory in this....I will say only that I am proud that I am the kind of parent who fostered the interests my children had, rather than mold them into some freak copies of myself and my dreams. LOATHE parents who do that at the expense of their children's own aspirations.
hi JBV, We had etui a couple of times this week. Thought of you immediately.
gm, Kaplan
:) thanks, Annie - how are you doing?
morning jbv and Kap
(yawn)
gm.
Trif, you are a smart and good Mom
to the (yawn) gym.
Im fine and you, JBV
sounds like you are off to a tired start today, kaplan dear -- go easy!
:)
Hi, Trif - my sister and I had a similar conversation recently. She remembered that my mom sent both of us to the same piano teacher but didn't say boo when my sister decided she hated it after a few lessons, she became a basketball star instead
thank you annie, very much. I do try
I kept up the piano lessons for 8 years!
there you go, jbv! that was one smart mom you had there!
good afternoon, dear Babble friends
Kaplan, I just read Groucho's answer to anti-semitism...when his daughter was refused entrance to a pool club because of being Jewish. Groucho replied, "She is half Jewish. Can she go in up to her waist?"
good afternoon, Sprite ((hugs))
sprite!!!! hooray! I predict this grid will take you all of 10 minutes....
LOLOL annie!
Hi Sprite :)

hi all and {{{ANNIE}}}
hi carlee
Hi carlee, how is my student doing?
morning carlee
hi carlee
i am ok... ( today for some reason am down in the face... and feeling as tho this "quest " of mine is going to be fruitless and I am just chasing yet another pipedream ...but this too shall pass)
besides that..how is everyone
<--- procrastinating here on my alice essay
hey trifs...dag..sprite :)
dawg* even
carlee, Definitely not "fruitless". Just one of those days. Keep on truckin. You won't be sorry.
not bad... just treated myself to a refresher course in astrology. Should be able to make you all birth horoscopes again soon :)
tada!! finito! ty for the clues!
in my head i know that annie...this is just those sappy female "emotions" getting in the way of progress
what does the 9 start with?
very cool sprite :)
co
and how are you feeling now annie???
co9, kje
carlee, Please dont let that derail you. I am much better.
yes, feels good! And no project is ever fruitless. Just go with it and allow yourself the occasional off day.
ty - was guessing co given that I can't find that last one - will look
Weeemen
oooh, I have always wanted one of those sprite! I didn't know you did them!
Nutty!!!!
glad to hear it annie....I won't be derailed...
oh woot I like that co.
NUTCAKE!!
22 left here, and gridlock. boo.
carlee, good for you. Keep up the good fight.
Dropping in, battery is running low though kiddos
good morning fellow babblers!
I used to, Trif, but I guess I have put my whole life on hold for quite a while. Am yearning to pick it up again and this is a fun step :) If you send me your data (date, time and place of birth), I could use you as refresher material :)
( I paid too much $ to be here...gone into too much debt... and i think that is what is scaring me... what if this is fruitless and i have all this debt...)
Nono! So glad to see you.
nuttie!! it's been ages, how are you?
hello everybody
always good to see you Nutty!
((ruby))
nutty!!!! *hugs* You silly nutter :) Hi dawg and Nanette :)
hi Ruby!
ruby! I kind of worried, didn't see you in Lexulous. you ok?
hi nono, hi ruby
I beenhangin out. Chillaxin.
will do, sprite, just as soon as I figure those things out! I know at least the date....lol
chilllaxin is good!
Carlee, you've gone back to school! good for you, I know you will make it work
ty, got it
lol, that is a start, Trif. Take your time collecting, I do not intend to let this knowledge slip away from me again.
chillaxing is a great word :D
morning all
hi peri
yes..am back to school...
hi peri
hi peri
{{annie}} {{sprite}}
morning Peri
wow, nice to see everybody
spritey, FEb 19 is my birthday. would you please make it the icon day.
sprite: we have two pending lexulous games that say you need a nudge....
*stealth hugs fellow worrying student carlee*
sure peri. What would you like for icons?
sprite... the whole birth chart kinda scares me...
{{peri}} ((dwag)) {{no no}}
jmc *hugs*
feel I can say with great authority that the s in the second column is pure evil
and jmc and trif
this is too good!
hi jmc evan and nono
how silly, ruby, I have same but vice versa. I will see what I can do.
and ruby too
carlee: I hope you can cheer up, spring is definitely coming!
I have missed so much of the chat lately, New desktop doesn't size right to see it without scrolling back and forth but have a laptop now and it's perfect
i shouldn't be here but wanted to boost carlee--i spend half mine time worrying about the same things carlee but the other half i know that education is never a loss
I have tulips in the kitchen and a friend gave me a hiacinth that just opened there, too
carlee: why does it scare you?
bet that smells wonderful ruby!
oh ruby that sounds so spring like!
what a lovely sight and smell, ruby
it smells good, but is kind of wonky; I think it was forced too early
gratz on the laptop, Nanette! So lovely to have a working machine.
now must run away waving hi to sprite, evan, ruby, and nono and whomever else i missed
*poof*
bye bye jmc
bye, jmc
i am not sure i want to know that i am going to fail if the stars say " you will always be at a loss and never find your true path" kind of stuff..
and we have visitors coming on Wednesday, so I hope that it cheers my down-in-the-dumps husband up
bye jmc, it was great to see you, however short :)
thanks sprite, It was a splurge but figured I'm worth it once and a while
now I have to take care of an amazon order that DH messed up......
( ruby..winter is just gearing up here... we still have not had our first storm and the first "deep freeze" was just this past weekend)
periwinkle balloons would be nice or periwinkle flowers or anything perwinkle
periwinkle balloons would be nice or periwinkle flowers or anything perwinkle
carlee, that kind of nonsense is never 'in the stars'. A birth horoscope is a psychological profile, as it were. Astrology is a symbol language. It just shows how you are put together, and what you can use to bring out the best in yourself.
bet the laptop is super convenient to get distracted! lol
nice, peri, will put it in now.
Carlee your weather is very much like ours, last couple of days first real cold spell and a thin layer of snow on the ground
must be gone. see you all later
well...that is good to hear sprite :)
bye lbd
bye dawg :D
yeah, and people who say stuff like that, don't know shit about astrology or psychology, they just want to feel power and scare you.
byebye dawg
okie kokie sprite...:)
down to 9... who has a list?
have a great day, dawg
lickety has one
I think lickety has a list, kje
ty
morning all!

hey uusue :D
morning, Sue
gm, sue and go, trif, go
hi, nono, sprite, trif, kje, annie, carlee!
hello dear sue!
go finish this one then, Trif, it is a nice boost!
husband just bellowed at me from upstairs; I thought he had fallen. He doesn't feel well but just wanted to say that he didn't want pork chops for dinner!!!! aaargh
{{su3e}}
hi sue :)
couldn't spell sue right, lol
lol ruby, he is incorrigeable.
I'm rattled
I feel sorry for him, but don't really know what I can do
lol, ruby, I misspell it myself sometimes :-)
ruby: I solved the lexulous bug. Will make my moves.
I was afraid you had quit.....
you cannot do any more than you already do, ruby. You are there for him, you take care of him, that is all. You cannot make him feel ok about getting old etc.
of course not. If I would quit for any reason, I would let you know.
(even though you kick my ass habitually in lex)
ooh, just found the 9, yay
good job, ruby!
nobody here would ever believe I could play scrabble decently from my poor babble performance
found all the c's and f's without the list. wish I could say the same for some of the easier letters :(
the 9 makes me want a pastry
ruby is awesome at scrabble.
Morning All
good job, ruby and Nanette.
hi hego!
ty sprite
{{hego}}
hi hego
this group is just what I needed to cheer me up
((Ruby))
Hi Nanette.
Everyone keeping warm, I hope.
amazingly, they sell tulips in the supermarket for only 2.90 euros for 10!
I don't know how they can do it
goodness that sounds rather a bargain Ruby and tulips are so lovely
made my moves, ruby!
did you know that they are the only flower that keeps growing after it's cut (sprite probably knew that!)
<<<<wishes for tulips. sigh...
okay, I got the list. now, let's see if I can find me some nice warm fireworks on this frigid, five degree morning!
you can, Trif! You will!
Hi Trif
hi hego, I must be on my way. bye dear babblers
*sends hego a lot of tulips from amsterdam*

yay kje!
((Annie))
hi hego, nice to see yu, and bye annie. so nice to see you
bye Annie good seeing you again
ty Sprite, my dear.
kje, how was the bread?
down to 41, kje, too early for me :( But thanks for the offer.
the one with the whole wheat was very heavy, but the other turned out great (the second I scooped all the white whole wheat out from the canister that I could and mixed up what was left with the all-purpose... so a mixture of both)
KJE!!!
Sorry for yelling, but I just had to know.
def a couple weird ones that will be impossible without the list or a clue, but overall, an easy grid
lol
I wondered all night how you made out. Glad it worked out.
I was typeing, hego!

Hmmm... fire swamp

BYE NN
Good day Babblers.
hi, scrabs!
Hi Scrabs
I am waiting for next kid to show up.
is your migraine better, scrabs?
what's your temp today, Scrabs?
Yes, it started Friday morning and ended fully overnight.
Hego, probably around 99. I'm alive and well.
good
oh, that is good! I don't know how you manage with them - sounds horrible
Haha, outside temp was 1 when I awoke.
wow
it's warmed up here, actually above freezing
I find weather that severe very depressing
My migraines are not disabling as for many people. Some episodes are worse for me than others.
of course, that means snow will melt and then freeze, and things will get icy...
I love this weather--cross-country skiing, snowshoeing. It's been beautiful outside. I want more snow, lots more.
keep it all up by you , please.
Lake Erie is an excellent snow-making machine until it freezes and that hasn't happened yet due to mild winter up to 1/12.
yes, I know about lake effect.
that's why I live down here. lol
hifi is not a word
<---Votes with Hego to send all the snow to the snow lovers and keep it away from the rest of us
Yay!
can anyone help me with the 9 please
hoofa
hear! hear! Molly
sorry wrong box not a word anyway
the 9 builds off of the 4, 5, and 6
all start with a kind of salmon
the 7 also
co9 - if identical twin girls threw a party, each would be the co9.
And good morning/afternoon all.
Hi Haz, cute clue.
thank you very much
yw
You're welcome. Hello, hego.
Hi Aaron and Haz
Hello, Scrabbler.
Phone...
How is life across the pond?
It's okay. I'm appreciating that the evenings are getting lighter.
You feel as though you've turned a corner in the winter when it's not dark by 16.30.
we haven't noticed yet.
maybe in a week or two.
There was an Irishman in the hut at the cross-country ski trail yesterday. He called his parents on his cellphone, using a webcam, and later apologized but with the time difference he wanted to contact them at that time. Wonderful accent!
se 6/18 plz
I agree with the sunlight, Haz.
Not I, ivesy.
Whereabouts in Ireland was he from or did you not get finer details like that?
Ivesy, today I am at the Indian Reservation in Irving, close to you.
se6/18 - se plus foot digits mixed up
I did not ask as he had a chick with him and they were making goo-goo eyes at one another. I enjoyed listening to him.
ty haz
Ivesy, starts with to place something and three letters from Mickey the rodent.
You're welcome, ivesy.
thnx haz
I wanted to borrow him for a bit as he was a nice-looking thirtysomething fellow.
Hi wv
hi scrabs
You mean you're not content with George? Some would say you're greedy having him and wanting a younger man as well.
One can dream, Haz.
Or maybe you just wanted to listen to his accent.
I think now that I prefer a man from the UK or Italy.
Stick with the UK men Scrabs
I'm sure the UK men and the Italians will be flattered.
But I am studying Italian and could use a tutor.
So that you can stalk George in Lake Como?
now that could be fun
Sigh... Lake Como is almost as beautiful as George.
He was on tv this am in his tux. So lovely.
Well, Better leave fantasy land and go get some work done. bbl
See you later, hego. Enjoy your memories of George and his tux.
Bye
good morning all - back for the dozen I didn't find last night before crashing
Hello, cybernan.

Good morning, Wolvie.
Yay Wolvie. Hi Nan and Wolvie.
good morning everyone:) and now it is time for crossy,s quote of the day!
Physician: One upon whom we set our hopes when ill and our dogs when well. -- Ambrose Bierce

ty - anyone want clues before I leave?
i know the list is up but i haven't looked yet- so don't know what to ask for, lol. but ty. :-)
Congrats Nan. Last to5 please?
t + french river
here is a bonus quote for you scwabby...
"You must learn to run your kayak by a sort of ju-jitsu. You must learn to tell what the river will do to you, and given those parameters see how you can live with it. You must absorb its force and convert it to your users as best you can. Even with the quickness and agility of a kayak, you are not faster than the river, nor stronger, and you can beat it only by understanding it." -- Strung, Curtis and Perry, _Whitewater_
or to + apply yourself with an object
I don't know French, so Google to the rescue.
should have said river in France -- or maybe it is germany
Totally true, Crossy, as I have capsized from the force of the water on rivers.
geography isn't my strong suit
It's in Yorkshire.
go with the apply yourself with an object
Haha.
oh -- well -- we've travelled there too!
Monkey found it. TY.
loved Yorkshire -- I'm still getting e-mails from their tourist bureau!
good grief, the last to i needed was a to 4- a babblet too, lol. i always get stuck on those
It is beautiful, cybernan, you're right.
crossy has one lone e preventing NBT:(
The only definition of ou4 = placename for that river.
plural for letter after R
the one at top?
plural letter, crosy?
or compass direction?
think so
have not listed
oses
no not direction
lol sorry
i am missing one o lol
nope not that
but ty
and oh man- that was it. I got it because of your e problem crossy, lol
which one wolvie?
ah -- the oven wolvie?
the other e is a direction crossy
ahh that was it lol NBT and NBS for crossy
yep. :-) i am so bad with 4 letter words, lol. just refuse to see them
wolvie showed me the way with the other one
now i can settle in and grind away at the s words:)
mornin' folks
need clue for the first fi 6 please
the co is the 9, right?
good morning bichon
the first one i have is a plural of the fi 4/8- the swimmer
Yes, co9.
thats the second one - need a fi 6 before that please
fi6/30 - when things go badly they might be declared this
i am missing that one too then
ahh- ty Haz
You're welcome.
hint for the 9 please. Is the third letter a vowel?
thanks haz - now its time to take the grandkids swimming at the pool (indoors)
co9 - if twin girls threw a party, each would be a co9.
it is a combo word bichon- co - run, say. co plus ho 7
Enjoy the swim and the grandchildren, wv.
tyvm Haz, Wolvie
thx, haz! now nbs (as well as nbt)
and hi again all!
You're welcome.
fireworks!!!!!!!!!!!!
still missing the bottom s
yay aaron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
congrats Aaron!
Congratulations, Aaron!
woot aaon
18 left, i am going to list
lol
I just finished with an adorable 4 yr old girl. When I was done checking her she came over and sat in my lap. That's the joy of pediatrics.
Bottom s is an anagram of what a boxer uses to fight.
I looked at the list and I am missing lots of sh- words.
Having moments like that probably restore your faith in your calling.
Yes, it almost makes up for those angry parents that demand antibiotics for their kids' viral illnesses.
Help on si5,10 please?
Husband was telling me today about a woman who came into the vets surgery demanding an antibiotic (she's never been seen in the place before). She was told it was a POM but her language was choice, apparently.
si 5: small, medium and large with a different letter in the middle
si5/10 - looks like plural for shortened female siblings.
ty haz- the too care of that missing top s. :-)
TY Haz -- I thought I tried everything possible there. Not so.
What is POM?
You're welcome.
Prescription Only Medicine
on my way - have a good day/evening :)
Bye, cybernan.
bye nan
I'm sure your husband gets lots of stories
Aha, parents even tell us which antibiotic that want for their kid and we have to explain that none are needed.
Bye Nan
Scrabs, working on the potty trainin with some success.
Yay, keep moving forward. Accidents cause inconvenience which leads to potty use. I tell kids to say good-bye to diapers because they are big kids now.
It's my theory that disposables are too comfortable.
I'm having him go without bottom clothes.
Yep, diaper companies are making billions from "pull-ups"--diapers for older kids.
It's probably catering for 'convenience' but the downside seems to be the struggle to get kids out of them.
Yep, I often see 3.5 and even 4 yr olds in diapers. Parents say they are waiting til the kid is "ready." The kid didn't know they were ready at 18-24 months.
That IS late.
Kids are treated as dependent infants for too long sometimes.
He just peed on the floor, but then ran to the potty. I see that as progress
Far into their 20's sometimes.
Yay! Good boy! You can do it!
fireworks!
Yes, babied too much in some ways and yet treated like little emperors at other times. I can't get over the number of mothers who do their grocery shopping with their infants declaring what should be bought.
yay wolvie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done, Wolvie!
Yay Wolvie!
hate to play and run, but must be off- ty for the help!
Bye Wolvie
Bye, Wolvie.
I see parents that ask their preschoolers whether the child "wants" their immunizations that day.
btw, I just made an appointment with my doc about my cough that has been lingering for a month now - I know that if it's viral nothing much will help, but figure at this point it's worth checking out (I am also extremely fatigued, and the semester starts tomorrow, bummer)
Good for you, Sue. You are doing the right thing.
that's too much Scrabs
<--- is glad her son is past the potty-training stage
And let me guess. The child doesn't want the nasty old needle.
what child wants an injection?
little kids little problems.
Yay for Leo.
I think some parents just don't get that they're in charge and that they know better than their children.
he had a great time in Israel, scrabs - he really wants to go back for an extended visit, and has started to teach himself Hebrew
Bingo, Haz.
That's great, Sue.
it was SO good to see him spending time with his cousins - really made him feel like part of the family, which was very nice
While I would agree that a lot of parents are pushovers for their kids, I think a certain amount of "readiness" is helpful with toilet training.
That is important bonding, Sue. Cousins are like extra siblings, and Leo is an only.
Indeed. There are nine first cousins in that part of the family (including the bride) and this was the first time all nine of them were together at the same time!
For sure, Molly. My first attempt at potty-training didn't go well, so waited for a few more weeks and it was much easier. To an extent it depends on the child but some parents possibly find pull-ups more convenient then potty training. It's finding the balance.
also they are all about the same age, 22 to 26
I agree, balance is key.
I hear parents express utter despair at the idea of potty training their child. Kids are ready before the parents are.
I imagine that back in the days of terry diapers/nappies, mothers were much keener to get their children toilet trained so that they didn't have all that washing and boiling to do.
If Leo stayed in Israel for a while he would learn Hebrew quickly.
Yes, Haz, most kids were trained by 24 mo in the "old days."
crossy was a preemie (2 pounds 2 ounces) and my mum used dish cloths with those big safety pins:)
he wants to know enough when he gets there to be able to get around, scrabs
hi, crossy!
I remember my mother using cloth diapers on my 3 younger siblings. Lots of extra laundry.
howdy suze:)))
I started Leo on cloth diapers but switched to disposables when he was a year old and we took a 3-week vacation traveling by Greyhound bus (his dad's idea, don't ask)
I'd have made sure to miss that bus.
Haha, Haz.
Wow, two seems very young to be completely toilet trained.
His dad said it would be great fun to see the country from the bus. Might have been, but it was winter, and for most of the trip the windows were iced over.
18-24 mo is the norm in 3rd world countries. Parents from those countries have taught me a lot.
Three weeks on a bus with a 1 year old = great fun?????
Awful, Sue.
It was pretty wretched.
Although it was actually only about 3 days on the bus to get to where we were going.
I would have gone mad, Sue. How did you do it?
At the end of it Leo and I flew home.
Brilliant, Sue.
His dad and I had a rather complicated (and fraught) relationship. I did it because I had to.
a mid-winter bus vacation with a child in diapers?? good grief!
In India children are potty trained by one. i ot this from one of the teachers at the kid's day care. The one Indian child, who is the youngest in the class, is already potty trained
But I am very happy that I do not have to deal with him any more.
Hiya, buds. lol at chat. Poor sue. Nothing looks good from the window of a bus. 12 years of school transportation should cure anyone of that romantic notion.
The concept called "elimination communication" is what is done in 3rd world countries.
you would think :-). Hi, Judi!
Hi Judi.
Hello, Judi.
Yes, I have read of very tiny babies being toilet trained, but my impression was that it was the mothers who became very sensitive to signs of imminent peeing (and pooping) and would plop the kid over an appropriate receptacle.
Oh, elimination communication is catching on around here. However, not too many parents are equipped to let a child run around without their bottom clothes on for that length of time.
I was under the impression that third world countries (India in particular) had open sewers/ditches right out in the open. Everyone justs squats - no privacy or finess whatsoever.
Yes Sue, many people claim it's the parents who are trained, not the kids.
Pots are used too.
Huh. So much more interesting (not to mention sanitary) to flush.
S's are done. They were a pain.
15 to go. Anyone want or need clues?
Now there's a potentially fascinating term paper: "Potty training techniques from around the world."
It is fascinating, Judi.
However, I find the concept of having no toilet paper vulgar and disgusting.
and unsanitary, thus lots of disease
i have seen some bathroom facilities in india that would make you run away screaming
I bet, Crossy.
I'm amazed that the 5 y.o. here forgets to wash her hands and flush
So true. So much for 21st century technology. I suppose poverty and over-population are huge contributing factors to the general filthiness of INdia.
i mean no actual toilet, just the flange over the drain pipe that you squat over and a garden hose on the wall
If we could see germs with the naked eye we would all be germophobes.
Major ick. The garden hose sounds like a luxury.
here is one...
http://rudra.hubpages.com/hub/Indian-t oilets
I think they have those in China too. They call them squatting toilets. NO THANK YOU
I remember watching Michael Palin's "Around the World in 80 Days". He was in the "luxury" car of a train in India. The "toilet" was a hole in the floor of the train car - which lead directly to the tracks below.
"The most important thing is not to fall in."
mens toilet is better though,if you just have to pee,you can pee in a funnel tied to the wall with a hose leading through the floor
How do old folks manage to squat?
lol, Scrabbs. Fortunately, the hole wasn't that big .
That is what I'd like to know Scrabs
I think that leads us back to diapers, Scrabs.
My father (80) needs to wear diapers, for dribbling issues, but refuses, so he stinks of pee. He is so stubborn and says that pads or diapers "don't fit into his lifestyle."
i would rather wear the depends that stink like a urinal all the time
Me too.
I gotta agree with Crossy on that. Peeing in your pants is not socially acceptable.
indeed, a urinal cake is just too uncomfortable when placed in your underwear:0
we have all talked to him, including his doc...stubborn!
Haha, Crossy.
oh, a disgusting chog. How appealing.
indeed kaplan, from diapers,to toilets to poop and on to pee
New topic, folks. what shall it be? No politics please. That is nausea-inducing.
I bet he's just embarassed to buy them, Scrabs. As for lifestyle... is he a gigilo or Chippendales dancer??
not thank you
Not even close, Judi, and I plan on buying him a package.
when i used to bar tend the golden rule was never to talk about politics or religeon, anything else is wide open
So true, Crossy.
the people I know who did no-diaper training for their kid also don't believe in vaccinations, and they homeschool and claim that their kid has severe environmental allergies---and had her playing reading before age 3, so there you go.
Amen. Oops.
I mean reading and playing cello. Or viola.
well, I hate to leave this lovely conversation but I am going to go collapse again for a while. bbl.
See ya, sue. I'm out too. The health food store waits patiently for my cash. *POOF*
I see those type of parents, Kap. Home deliveries too.
Sleep well, Sue.
Bye Judi
ah kaplan,so they are creating "bubble children"?
Oh, yeah- and hysterics if a cat crosses the kid's path.
Bubble kid, Ya think?
no outside stimulae at all,no shots, nothing, first cold will wipe them out for weeks
No medications. All homeopathy. No wonder the kid has "multiple chemical sensitivities."
No birthday cake.
Once a mother of an unvaccinated kid asked me to check his antibody levels for pertussis, etc, claiming he would be immune because she breast fed him til age 3. Zero antibodies for all of the vaccine-preventable germs. That shocked her.
good lord,we used to roll around in mud, blood, dead critter hauled home to show our mum, torn open knees, eating bugs, all of it
Kap, I do see families just like you describe.
You ate bugs, Cross?
When you see them do you want to kill them outright?
chocolate covered ants are quite tasty actually
salty sweet
When our daughter was a baby a long time ago, the pediatrician started us out by saying "I hope you are not those Cambridge parents who won't vaccinate..."
Nope, I try to educate + scare them by discussing death as a side effect of pertussis, bacterial meningitis, etc. To watch for signs of impending sepsis.
Wow Scrabs, being a pediatrician you must get a lot of weird parents with weird ideas
and we said "God no."
hi there.
They are already fearful people I think. Or just entitled. I don't know.
There's lots of those parents here in CA
What do the kids do when they get to college?
untill 40 or so,i never bothered with shots for myself(the kid got every one) but now with asthma and being an ex-smoker,i play it safe and get it every year
They go sugar crazy?
The ignorance is what bothers me, especially when a kid's health is at risk. Besides antibiotics, immunizations were one of the greatest developments of the 20th century. So many lives are saved. Look in old cemeteries--families had 8-10 kids hoping a few would survive to adulthood. Look at a group of 2-3 siblings that died within days of one another.
Hi Doren! Day off for you.
Happy Martin Lufer day
First -world kids eat better than 95% of the world's children.
Hi Ruru! Are you off too?
We had a controversy when my daughter was a baby with rubella immunizations. Her pediatrician didn't vaccinate til puberty. She got thrown out of one nursery school. She was eventually immunized at puberty, but had her titers measured as an adult and guess what, she needed reimunization
nope.. staff inservice.. eating lunch in my office and taking advantage of babble expert
You mean Western medicine isn't evil? Who knew?
I'm always slightly off Scrabs
The no diapers, home schooled, environmental allergies parents have issues, issues, issues.
And I love you for it, Ru.
quickest grid i ever did (using babble expert ) down to 9
Polio was such a joy too.
Not off, Doren? How does your school district manage that?
if you are talking about parents i am poofing. so sick of them (sorry, yes i know I am one too)
I have 7 to go
OK dorens, we will go back to elimination habits.
kids are off.. we have "staff development". Suicide prevention training, substance abuse training, etc. OUr state demands we do these every five years. It is a snoozefest
I know a CA mom who doesn't believe in baby gates, even though her child fell down the stairs and broke his collar bone. She just told the 2 y.o. to "be careful"
uh uh, kap, that is parenting too!!!
child abuse, bichon
Oh. So how's the weather?
Doren, you too are saddened by seeing kids being victims of their parents' poor decisions.
she must be a darwinian bichon
every day!
That parent is a fool, bichon.
Oh dear God, survival of the fittest parents.
kap are you still in cambridge?
Yes, and someone called child services and she was miffed
Kap, it was 1 degree when I woke up and we will have a heat wave with a high of 40 for today and tomorrow.
yes i was just going to suggest discussing weather!
cold here this morning.. but it will be in the 60's later today
we are at -6 and ready for the shorts!
I XC-skied Sat + Sun and it was beautiful in the woods with sun and blue skies.
reading back. i missed kap's suggestion that we discuss weather. so, here we are. I move that we all descend upon ru. 60's sounds divine
Mrs. Ru: Honey, there is a herd of women at the front door who say they are your "Babble Friends"
how do you do all this with migraine scrabs? i have them rarely but when I do i just want to hide under the pillows
I did not want to let the migraine win and I needed to be distracted from the discomfort.
you are my hero!
I am stoic, sometimes when I shouldn't be. Like when I toughed out abdominal pain overnight, knowing I probably had gall stones, until I was jaundiced in the morning.
why didn't you go to the ER Scrabs?
gotta run- PM meetings about to begin
I went, but 12 hrs later than I should have. I did not want to be a patient. Idiot.
I was 31 so I write that off to young + foolish.
All done. Anyone want clues?
Well done, Scrabbler.
Off I go to the kitchen. Bye!
Bye, Haz.
oh, I got the 9.
Now I know why it made Ruby waant pastry.
Twinkies.
Yaaaaa!!!!! FIREWORKS
woot Pearl
I don't know. Calling that line of stuff pastries is like calling Velveeta cheese.
Spam meat?
Miley Cyrus a singer?
stop! You're killing me!
On NPR yesterday they were describing the pleasures (nostalgic) of geting a ho8 cupcake in your lunch box. First peeling off the squiggly white line...
Then peeling off the frosting...
said company has filed for bankruptcy you know.
they were also talking about the obscene names- like ho-hos and dingdongs...
Sno-balls.
it was on "wait wait- don't tell me"
Or how about the snowballs, where you could peel off the marshmallow/coconut layer, and then eat your way through the chocolate cake to the cream filling.
crappy stuff, but it was fun as a kid
I've always been more partial to Tasty-Cake
Twinkies, fruit pies and mini-muffins...
I'll eat most anything if it contains choclit
All of their products should have come with a parental advosory
must go. hagd kids.
zingers.
Zingers, ho-hos, ding-dongs, mini muffins and twinkies. No wonder we grew up strange.
I'll have to bring this conversation back for AFTER prime time.
Hohos are, in fact, in the grid.
Talk about product placement. Sheez.
reading back... 72 degrees here and rising... windows all open, nice breeze airing out the house...
Clearly, amelu has no interest in discussing toilet training, adult diapers or snack cakes.
LOL!
I'm too transparent some days, eh Molly?
: ) But we love it when you chat Amelu, because you have such good insight.
*head down, toe digging in the dirt, blushing*
Today, I am having more fun dishing on Golden Globes fashion than I am doing this grid.
evening all - just got me fireworks - thought i'd say hi before i am off to cook hubs dinner
I still think that if you eat enough twinkies, ho-ho and dingdongs that you will build up enough preservatives in your body ensuring you will never die!
or at least never require embalming!
I'll have to go look... that usually makes me feel better about my wardrobe choices.. LOL @ Jmitch!
You have a point there, JMitch
hi kazz!
how you all
xox amelu!
i can honestly say that i have never ever ate any of the confectionary
hi all clue 4 the co9 please

Heard a good joke yesterday -0 Stannazh Strairlifts have invented a new chairlift called the Speedway - it will get you to the top of the stairs before you have forgotten what you were going for!
yep, molly, I'm a firm believer in 'let them eat dirt'...
some studies suggest that making your immune system work out makes you healthier...I've worked mine over!
yeah - used to love fruit salads and black jacks - must of been full of sugar and preservatives and e numbers
deeha - like that one
anyway off to the fish - curried for his highness
anyway off to the fish - curried for his highness

That would involve getting dressed... even where I live... ;-)
LOL - I'll be there in 15 minutes! woot
LOL! Remember the hazard flashers!
Better make it 20 then....if a heart attack didn't get me out of a speeding ticket...not sure hanky-panky will be an acceptable excuse!
True dat!
H's Honed! 4 left
I thought he6/24 was the nastiest word today
I can't believe there are 36 of those buggers here! Go Min!
Min, Jack is so cute!
Thank you MollyL! He was so not digging the sweater!
He was probably thinking "What does she think I fur for?"
I think my dog was thinking, "It's bad enough you are making me walk for 30 minutes in 20 degree weather but I also have to wear this ridiculous outfit as well?!"
Speaking of walks, I am going to take him on another one now. I'll be back later on to finish and do a story.
oh my god. I need help big time. I just got the computer, which I stupidly had left open last night. The cats must have gotten jobs with tech service because my entire system is upside down. I hate to interrupt whatever chats are going on, but I am losing my mind. I hope that there is someone who can tell me what key or keys to hit. It couldn[t have been too hard, they did it..................... THANKS
(((hugs joey))) what do you mean the system is upside down?
hey all
CNTRL + ALT + UP ARROW
if I turn the screen upside down, everything would be perfect.
MOLLY MY QUEEN
wow. thanks Molly!
how the hell did two cats do that? I am so thankful.. I knew that if I asked here I would get a faster answer than calling any tech service.
It's amazing what random keystrokes can do. No treats for the bad kitties. : P
*bummed out mama look* doesn't work on a Mac apparently.
Molly, please send me your snail mail address at my addy in the profile. Something requisite of queen title will be coming your way, if you want.
Not necessary Joey, glad to help. : )
Just starting. Have chicken in every pot. Not really, one pot. Clothes in washer and dryer, bedding changed. Piano dusted. All is goo in the world.
well then I will tell you. I have a stamp for a card that says "With a wand in one hand and a drink in the other I could rule the world". With a picture of Alice with a crown.
I love it!
it is what I send to folks that have helped me. It never fails to make people smile.
hello Mother!

I found all the fi4/8 words fa4/7 today and I got help with the harder ones. I'm almost finished so here is a story of clues. I went to college on the ea4/4 co5/12 I majored in hi4/5ory.The major was a fi6/30. Any sh 5/12 of paper I got that had to do with hi4/5ory was boring to me. I felt like I was sh5/18ed by that major since I spent a lot of money on it&then I changed my major to education. My parents were not happy and hi4/5ed at me for wasting a lot of money. However, I did very well as an education major.I graduated with good grades. After I graduated I was a ho7/32 & I ho 4/5ed a graduation party at my ho5/14. My husband is about to ou 4/5 me off the computer. My hubby ou 5/12 me off the laptop and se6/33 it whenever he se 4/4 me playing Babble.Wish that I could just kick him in the arse with my si 4/9 6 sh4/5. Now I am going to go ho5/12 a few beers and watch the Gene Hackman film "He 5/12". I will sh 4/5 him off the computer and se 5/20 it back from him later and come back to clue.

mkg i have ou4/5 means expel
i would assume they mean Word, Excel, Outlook etc. lb
ahh, thanks, LA
Hello all.
lbd, I think of computer operations as system management. Installing software, configuring systems, especially large server class machines.
Hey there, wht.
May I please have a clue for sh5-12 the 4th? Thanks
Hi ga
I agree with Wht. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc are computer applications.
Are things going your way, wht?
More or less.
We have hot water again tonight.
Great!
The 4th sh5/12 rhymes with what you make with your hand to form an angry or militant gesture.
Last Monday our hot water heater sprung a leak.
Good thing it was caught before it flooded the basement, eh?
We wanted to get a high efficiency replacement and it was installed on Wednesday with a little finsish work needed.
Thanks much, Molly, m' dear.
They came back on Friday and Saturday we had no hot water again.
Glad you have your hot water back Wht.
That had to be so aggravating.
The finally figured out the problem this afternoon, the electrician who wired up the new hot water heater messed up and the blower on it wasn't getting enough voltage to kick on.
So now the electrician will have to come back.
It has been more of an adventure than I had anticipated.
Gee whiz, I hope they clean up their mess.
geez, i hope you don't get charged extra for the electricians mistake
Well I expect that they will, especially since I haven't paid them yet. :^)
Yes, that's the way to get a job done well. LOL
Let's just say I don't expect to pay for the electricians mistake.
We have been using the same plumber for a long time. This is the first time we have had any problems.
Good for you, wht!
how old was your water heater?
about 10 years old.
Must have been made with quality and know-how. Nowadays, it seems the builders use the cheapest things just to get the job done and we, the buyers, pay the cost later on.

keep doing quests and levelling up your stats; defence, attack, magic etc
once you do that, you collect more weapons and can move up much easier
My character is really pale and thin, Every single person keeps asking me if i am sick, I wish there was a smart ass response

No I would like the option of - busy in caves killing cave trolls
I blame friends and loved ones for providing me with computer games that are adictive
sorry all, I completely wandered off... the snow has me a bit on edge, not knowing if I am working tomorrow or not. *sigh* would like to know... since I don't I will probably get to sleep early.

I have also been playing Saints Row 3
ah stid... is the snowfall unpredicatble there?
it falls hard for a little while, accumulates an inch or so... and then melts away when the snow stops falling. If it had all stuck we would be up to about 6" since the weekend began

Haha, you usually have me beat for negativity.
I am well Neil.Had a nice three day weekend. Back to work manana. Hopefully this week will be lots warmer.
Good, Min. Wish I had work... still job-hunting.
Today's story was not so negative, just at the end of it. But the endings of my stories are not usually true.
Nope. This one's not so bad.
I hope they're not for your sake, haha!
I didn't have a co6,24 or a co9,66 this evening... so I had to do the GOP Debate livestream commentary all by myself.
