she's my sweetie who was a stray a long time before I adopted her . . . she needed to have a recurring cyst removed and needed dental work -- poor girl had several teeth that had broken off long ago and healed willy nilly -- vet did great job and Momma's a real trooper!

Rather skittish--not easy to catch in the room. But I am trying to pet and hold him a few times daily so he can get used to that. I left him out of cage overnight and loose in his room. Last evening I added 2 more litter boxes to his room (1 is in cage, 2 in room) to encourage box use when not in cage.

I have seen him stretched out on his belly, with back feet outstretched, a few times, so that means he is happy.

mild "vent" moment -- stidkid who was staying away from home all week (it was a lot quieter around here) came home last night. Made arrangements to work at grandparents' today. FORGOT that he has to get himself over there in the next 45 minutes. I am NOT driving him! Molly, he doesn't have obvious deformations or slowness that allows people around him to realize he needs assistance with what are sometimes basic tasks. He also is highly intelligent, which masks some of the difficulties until he has fallen so far behind that it is very difficult to catch up.
If someone who knows what to look for observes him for a while, they can see the tell-tale signs of cerebral palsy, which is only one of his issues. But he learned early on to adapt and now appears merely "awkward" in his gestures and handwriting although fine motor performance is taxing for him.

My son has learning disabilities and his special ed teacher is constantly telling the kids in the class not to define themselves by their disabilities.
