ugh, rbud, having done a stint as pediculosis nurse for local schools, don't really want to go there
don't blame you! :P
you know.. in todays schools... if u have lice ur not sent home. u just get a note sent.
then a note to ur other classmates parents
too sleepy -- stayed up too late and someone phoned (long distance) too early this morning..goodnight all...*poof
oh, they still send 'em home around here
not here, cos. off they go stat.....or they have to wait in the sickbay until someone responsible can pick them up.
that was appalling.. i was working as a teacher aide in des moines, ia
we is backwards
down to 16, but awfully slow going now
night, jilli, sleep well, hun
they said its against state law .. ah yeah state law... it "discriminates" law
once, years ago, I was on line with our kids, getting checked after a huge outbreak in the little local school, and a mom formerly from the Phillipines was complaining loudly that "back home no one even bothers about stuff like this - if they did, schools would be empty year round!" lol!
I presume she's glad to be here rbud
wow yeah.. thats sad
certainly a different outlook
sometimes its the little things that you hear that make u think
i wonder....just what purp[ose do these little critturs serve....except to give kids a day off school, and mums, teachers and nurses a headache
come to think of it, what about flies, leeches and those itty-bitty spiders which create masses of fine web....which you don't usually discover until they festoon the corners of a room like grey christmas garlands.
when i was a kid it was a huge deal.. and now parents are like.. eh who cares.. its interesting
and fleas... and mosquitoes - what good are they in the scheme of things?
fireworks
stuck on the ge 5 -- any clues out there?

WTG NAN!!!!!
ty anyway, rose -- good clue
well, you could join in the conversation about the usefulness of lice, leeches, fleas, mosquitoes, and itty-bitty spiders.
sounds like dinner
at least flies and bees have some good points, but the rest... who needs 'em?
what? lice, leeches, fleas and itty-bitty spiders? ( wonders about cos's life-style )
hey cos!!!! you a handsome prince in frog-disguise?.....
"there was an old lady who swallowed a fly, I don't know why she swallowed a fly..." ♪♫♪
maybe he toad the line?
lol, rbud, lol
lol sorry.. bob newhart is distractin me
oh, hey, ruru, where you been, buddy?
lurking

hey, has anyone here had a chance to check out the youtube site, for tim conway elephant and tim conway dentist. found it the other day. nearly laughed myself into an asthma attack.
night rur, sleep well, buddy. see you at the flip
maybe it was the spider verse, cos, ewwwwww
oh, love tim conway, or I used to, anyway
the elephant one is an out-take from the carol burnett show.
theyd ont make shows like these anymore
fireworks
yay, flosey!
sadly no, cos, good clean humour. and you could laugh yourself silly. i love slapstick humour too.
WTG FLOSEY!!!!
yep, used to watch Carol all the time
thanks rbud and rose, now off to bed, goodnight all
then there is abbott and costello's who's on first....such a lovely play on words
never thought id like bob newhart but turns out i do.... just started a few days ago.. but i like mary tyler moore and carol burnett's shows too
night, flosey, sleep well, hun, see you at the flip
i think that's why i appreciate ruru and his puns. my grandfather ( a teacher) imparted to me an absolute love of language and all it's variants
bob's great! such a dry sense of humor.
ok.. here's a question..has anyone had to resit an exam..or had a child or grandchild do so?
rbud, is he the one who has such a dead-pan face, when he delivers his lines?
yep, it should be a word, I agree. and so should pogo, but what do I know.
yes, rolin.i have, in fact sat it three times
ok granny...so why doesn't enable allow the word 'resit'?
oh, i see where you are coming from, rolin. strange that it ISN'T a word in enable, right?
precisely!
yes, he does, g'rose, and he's a psychologist in the show, so he sees so4 odd stuff.
rolin, the word resit is in our australian english dictionary. but that's no help in this situation.
rbud, then i can picture him, and yes, i love his sense of humour, too. as a mater of fact, my son, simon, delivers punchlines the same way.
granny...the macquarie is a blessing
lol bob newhart keeps getting paint spilt on him
rolin, i have the federation encyclopedic edition, love this book.
every weekend, we have a general knowledge crossword in each of saturday's and sunday's paper. i love researching to find out the answers, and quite often it is the macquarie's which gives it to me
oh, for goodness sake....IT'S HAILING HERE!!!! and it's only autumn ( fall )
i'm outta here having successfully killed the chog for the second time, see y'all at the flip
I was locked out, couldn't post or enter words, had red boxes, yuck!
done! night, babbleland! :)
good morning
it feels like winter again!
It does here, too. I amw earing scarf and sweater INDOORS!
Morning, all.
what happened to Spring?
lots of flowers, but too cold to plant my bulbs
We had it ten days or so ago. Gorgeous weather, everyone in t-shirts and shorts, and now it's winter again.
just like here
My geranium has died. I moved it under cover, hoping it would survive the frosts, but it didn't, boo-hoo.
I think we get your weather a couple of days after
In that case you're due for some rain! We've got it now.
I wait until geraniums are cheap, then I put them in the borders where nothing else will grow and hope for the best
no no!!! that means more mud in the house
Yes, more mud! We have a farmhouse kitchen with a wood floor, so it's easy to mop and sweep.
but there are all these mysterious paw prints constantly LOL
Here, too. Ours are feline ones though. I think. A fox came in the other day!
in the house? eating cat food?
there are foxes here, but I've never seen one
It's out semi-tame vixen. She sits at the patio door waiting to be fed. She has cubs in next door's garden. We weren't in the room so she came right in, then dashed out when my partner entered the room. He saw her leave.
how wonderful!
I meant 'out', not 'out'. Call myself an editor?!
hahah
Ha ha. Our. I've got it right this time. The letters have worn off my keyboard and I keep hitting the wrong ones.
funny, I read it correctly; call myself a reader! lol
That IS funny, Ruby!!! BTW, did you ever find out what happened to Max? I haven't been reading the chog lately.
yes, after 2 weeks, the gardener found him in the bottom of the fishpond and we buried him quietly, didn'ttell fragile husband
it was tragic, but the new puppy goes far in filling the void
Oh no, that is SO sad. Any idea how it could have happened? I mean, dogs are good swimmers.
he's a handful, very smart, athletic, affectionate, handsome and housebroken BUT he bites me!
What's his name?
evidently not Max and he drank from there every night for years. He was 8, so I hope he had a heart attack or something and died quickly. I was afraid that he'd somehow gotten out and been hit by a car and died under somebody's shrubbery
I must listen to your son's music.
the new puppy, another chow chow, is Ruffino(Rufie), named for our old male Rufus, but Italian
his album had a couple of good cuts, but didn't do much
now, son is off to India, for a couple of weeks for his new job (still in Austin)
but he still plays with two bands, a few times a month
At least he died in familiar surroundings, so that's a blessing. My partner's two cats both died here, aged 21 and 23, and are buried in the garden. We just have Flad now and he's 15, the same age as our relationship.
those are amazing ages for cats! We've never had a chow live past 10, maybe because they're so large
Oh. I was going to ask if he was in a band. My daughter has a fantastic singing voice and was offered a job with a top band but she wouldn't take it. She says she'd hate life on the road.
she's right; John is able to have his "real" job and his two bands, all in Austin
I think they live so long because he doesn't believe in leeting the vet give them annual jabs. All my friends who take their cats to the vets every year seem to lose them younger.
he manages one "Orange Jefferson and the Seeing-Eye Band" and "Think Lizzie". He also plays bass for mysteriouswaysband.
your partner may be right. It is certainly unusual to have cats live to 20!
I shall google them, Ruby. What job does he do? Austin is SO far away from France. Are you originally from the USA?
He is an Oracle data-base administrator and has just opened an office for a Houston company. He is going to India to make contracts with two Indian companies, one in Chennai (Madras) and the other in Bangalore.
He's quite a guy, but very nervous about this new undertaking
and yes, I'm American, but retired here with my second husband
Wow! Impressive. My daughter is a tarot-reader! She is studying for a degree in astro-physics, too. I bet moving to France was a big culture-shock!
no, I used to come here with my first husband and almost married a Frenchman in '78! hahah
I've always loved France.
Husband would have prefered the UK, but, at that time (15 yrs ago), they still had the strict quarantine laws
it is challenging living here, but we found a beautiful place which we couldn't have afforded elsewhere
I had a wonderful holiday with my ex-husband on a canal boat going from Paris through the Loire Valley.
BTW, ASTROPHYSICS!!!!!
Quarantine laws? For husbands? lol
we had old Rufus when we came here. Husbands would be a good idea, too.
Yeah, I don't know why astrophysics, either. She is into computer games bigtime, Eve Online, building your own spaceship and carrying out intergalactic raids. Maybe it's inspired by that.
whatever inspired it, it sounds very interesting. She must be very smart!
Like her mom lol
She is. Don't know about me!!! I have only known my daughter since 2000. I had to get her adopted, then I traced her. She had been trying to find me for years. Imagine the ecstatic reunion!
what a wonderful story!!!!
Too long and complext to describe in the chog. Is there anyone else here? Are we chog-hoggers?
they are probably all avoiding us like the plague.
my e-mail address is in my profile
I would be very interested
OK. So's mine but I'll have to remind myself to check it as I usually use a hotmail one. I'll email you from hotmail. And now I'd better make myself a coffee! See you in a bit.
enjoy your coffee. "Talk" to you later

hey, annie!
I am using the calendar you sent me and I have fallen in love with all the dogs.
<<<< check out Murphy -- helped with his transport to adoptive family on Saturday -- he weighs 77 pounds! Wow! LOL
so glad to hear, Annie
will definitely be doing a new calendar for 2013 :-)
Murphy is so handsome and the name fits him. He looks like a kind soul.
so sweet -- 9 yr old senior -- defintely deserved a better life -- so happy for him and for his new family :-)
YOu do such great work with dogs. There is a special place for you in heaven.
good morning friends
good morning, Trif :)
Annie, that's very kind of you, but it's wonderful for ME -- selfish in a way :-)
hey, trif!
I hope everyone had a nice holiday yesterday, or is still enjoying passover, whichever the case may be
yes, thanks, trif -- had lovely dinner and visit with friends -- and weather was gorgeous . . .
Passover ends Saturday night. I hope you had a lovely Easter Sunday
I did indeed - a full coven complement, with all sisters present and accounted for, and the Hallelujah Chorus at church, which always makes my day....

*hands Trif a warm towel*
oooooh, lovely!
don't tell anyone, but I sooooo wish I didn't have to go to work today. I have lost all the passion for it, at the moment. I have a vacation coming up, and thank GOD. I need the breather. it's gonna be a loooong week though. ugh
I wont tell a soul. Perhaps the end of the semester is coming up and you are just a little tired. I hope the vacation perks up your interest again.
thanks annie.
Trif, Do you tutor?
somehow even just admitting it is a relief. and yes, I do. I work with students with receptive and expressive languages issues, in a learning center
I really do love the work, and I believe in the philosophies of the center founder but the corporate structure is getting rather tiresome.
(and by that I mean my completely crappy rate of pay)
Well, you give much needed help. All corporate structures are tiresome no matter where you work and, of course, the pay is low for what you do.
sigh. I know, you are right. it's just lately its been really getting to me. as I said, I need a vacation
You will feel differently after a much needed rest.
that is my hope
at the very least, the full moon is waning, which always settles the kids down. they were truly loonies last week
What is the other 7 besides mi7, please?
woot - left column greyed, go me! lol
weep
don't cry marc, we will help you find it!
One of my grandsons was tutored this year and it is working out very well. He just wouldnt do his homework. He did well in the classroom but the homework assignments overwhelmed him. I think the tutoring helped to get him focused and to break down the tasks. I think he needs a vacation from tutoring as you do. The family is going to a baseball camp in the Dominican Rep. which they are looking forward to. Everyone needs a rest at this juncture including you.
does the tutor come to his house, annie, or do they bring him to a center?
does the tutor come to his house, annie, or do they bring him to a center?
He goes to a center twice a week.
ah.
re7/32
And it is extremely expensive but, in the long run, I think it will be worth it.
hey there mollyl!
good afternoon all
Hi Molly and Sprite :)
Could someone tell me the other 7 other than mi7
re7/32
see, that is the thing, annie....not to be indelicate, but my center charges $96 an hour for tutoring, and I get paid $14 of that, evne though I sit with each child for 55 minutes, and provide 100% of the instruction. rather high overhead, wouldn't you say?
Trif, His tutoring is over $200 a hour. $14.00 an hour is not enough. Could you ask for a raise w/o jeopardizing your position.
Or I should say over $200 a session
nope. I am starting to think I would be better off just going out on my own, but that brings its own set of terrors
and WOW - that is a lot to pay for tutoring! your poor family!
My favourite word is here to/6!
A friend of mine tutored and the children came to her or she went to them and she charged $50.00 an hour.
that sounds a lot better to me right about now! anyway, we should probably change the subject....I am getting paranoidnow
Changed. :)
*smells armpit, finds it clean, and tries again* Hello, good afternoon all!
Hi spritey !!!
hmmm. I Know for a FACT I have "mosied" on occasion, which would make me a "mosier" but there is no love for the mosie in enable.
SPRITE! Good morning love!
hi there sprite, just got here
hi all
lol.... sorry all. It was my chog that had frozen, not the whole chog :D Hi, great to see you!
does the mi7 sound scientific?
Yes
..yep
hi peri
what's the verdict today? Small and nasty?
hi peri :)
indeed it does! hello there mi7
any darkhunter readers here? Say hello to Simi!
the grid might be small and nasty, but I am fat and sassy after a gorgeous Easter meal yesterday
oh that sounds great, Trif :)
kadresa is an unbelievable cook, and every thing she makes is delicious. that woman can THROWN DOWN
great cooks are about the most important ppl on the planet
not seeing either of the 7's
it was so fun -- famiy all together (well, mostly) lots of easy laughs and good conversation. just wonderful
I'm not seeing much of anything in this grid. Good mornin'
peri, the mi7 ends in 3 letters that are important to inheriting traits from your forbears.
good morning bichon!
hi bichon, it is kinda tough for me too
DNA is not in the grid
morning all!
... re+p5 ... a storage place ...
nope. So try another 3 :) a word, not an abbrev.
oh yeah - work just called to ask me to come in an hour early today. the fun never ends! oohh, snark!
What do you do?
im a tutor
oh Trif, your salary is way too low in general but espec. since they are charging the client so much
What subject?
you should be getting at least $50/hr
you should be getting at least $50/hr
Good morning!
thanks peri. I tutor all subjects, god, but all of my students have some sort of learning issues, be it on the autism spectrum, or down's, or PANDAS, or such
ty for re7
good morning car! I was just telling everyone how wonderful yesterday was!
hi car.ee
PANDA?
per, share the re 7.
Very cool! What is PANDAS?
nm peri
what is PANDAS?
see 6:55 clue
... tutors around here get at least $20 on their own ... and are charging at least $30 if from a service ...
It was nice...but overall I am not feeling that wonderful about the day.
Pediatric acute-onset neuropyschiatric disorder associated with strep
I have a student with it now, and he is breaking my heart. he literally wiped his own slate clean, and, at the age of 11, we have to rebuild him again from the ground up
that does not sound good, Trif
I am sorry to hear that car! I hope you had a good time at kadresas, though
that is an awful thing, Trif. Jeez.
Yes, I did...al beit brief.
yes, it really is. and he is a sweet, sweet boy, fast becoming one of my favorites. his parents are lovely people, and they really are trying to do what is best for him.
what made your day less fun, car.ee?
Good for you. I came in late about $ discussions, but what ever you are making, isn't enough. That is a bloody hard job!
I am not making enough. not no how
As per usual, I overbooked myself. Then when I had time to finally sit and relax, the kids were whiny and wanted to leave Kadresa's, then they were noisy when we go home....I just didn't have time to relax and enjoy the day.
I wonder, Trif... can you start with doing a bit on your own, in your own ti4, and then go out on your own?
It is my own fault though, so I can't really complain. Just didn't enjoy the day as much as I hoped.
aw car.ee :( The less is more thing... tough to manage sometimes. *hug*
I could, sprite, but I have to be WICKED careful. There is a non compete clause in my contract....
I can tutor some things on my own, but I might get in trouble if they catch me at it, and I would rather just jump from one to the other...I want good karma
gm, everyone! clue for the top O for nbt?
Hi Dawg!
og3
argh, the smarties. Yeah, that could become nasty. Darn. Ok, weird suggestion: a simple parttime job that pays most of the bills and a bit of insurance, and the rest tutoring on your own?

keep me up to speed, Trif. I will send all positive energy I can whip up to your plan!
They missed a heck of an egg hunt!
<3 sprite!
wahoo for egg hunts!
nbt nbs
egg hunts are so much fun. My kids and friends had a ball yesterday, and my love and I sat down at the garden table and watched them, and had an even better ti4 :)
huzzah for lbd!
Well done Dawg!
did the hubs have a nice time at his moms, car?
nice job, dawgQ Let me see... lol I never check that... I am one word short from same. An E. From the lone E.
I guess so.

ty Annie and good mornin'
hello
hey ruby :)
Hi Ruby!
yay, the gang's all here!
hi bichon and ruby :)
hello to ruby!
so very true, Trif. Asking is finding. Where is periwinkle? She made that into an art :D
we called it 'pulling a peri' because of that!
Hi ruby, Trif, sprite, car
the party doesn't start until the lads show up....crossy, torgone, where arrrrreee yoooooo?
hey, we can party without the guys. While waiting for them. I don't wait for any man ;)
OK...so, I didn't work this weekend...at all...and I am exhausted, BUT I am supposed to go to a jewelry party this morning....I am thinking I should probably bag it since I can't buy anything anyway....your thoughts?
"pulling a peri!" snort! how funny!!!
Is crossy around. I miss his bits of wisdom
BAG IT
bag it, car.ee, and take the morning off.
CROSSY! Get here! We miss you!
Can't do that....have to either work or go.
~ ~ ~ BACON ~ ~ ~
I am here :)
I firmly belive the l in the bottom row is, in fact, evil
yessss! I thought you were! Remember, when we named the phenomenon after you?
that L is a babblet....lw4
Hi Peri!
I agree, Trif. At least for 50%.
thanks Annie!
youre welcome
TY annie!
don't forget the pl of the lw
big thanks annie! my monkeys doen't speak welsh....
ty for the lw's
Oh! Hi Ruby!!!!!
on the tip of my tongue NOT!
whoo! 25 to go! might actually finish a grid for once! probs not before I have to go to work though....
those lw words were in a very recent grid. Guess they didn't stick in my head.
I think I'd rather work than go to a jewelry party.....
haha ha ruby!
I don't think we need the boys for the party
I am not a jewelry kinda gal. The only things I really would like to have are the things I could never pay for.
girls' afternoon suits me
crossy did promise to wear his bacon thong...that is always entertaining
husband bought me a lot of jewelry in the beginning, but I can't wear it here
I feel bad though...I really like the moms that are hosting it, the stylist is a dear friend...and I really haven't made too many "mom" friends since moving and really don't get invited anywhere...so, I am thinking I should go.
oh I love having the guys around, ruby. Just won't wait partying for them to show up... but love their company.
my old housekeeper said I looked like a "sapin Noel", so I stopped
ooooo Trif! And I am hungry! This is not safe.
will it be relaxing?
what is a sapin Noel, rubyfoo? A Xmas tree?
car. you just gave 3 reasons why you should go
good morning my friends:))
I don't see why it wouldn't be....although I will be thinking, "I should be working" the entire time I am there.
can you go without feeling you will get sucked into buying something, which will just make you feel more stressed?
car.ee, if you want to have more mom friends, then go and see it as investing in your social life.
i'm such a klutz, i don't wear any jewelry except my wedding band.
yes. Her comment stung, so I haven't worn jewelry since
bacon thong has arrived!!!! let the party begin!!!
Crossssssy!
crossy!!!! Good you heard us. Welcome to the party!
:))) crossy in da house:)
cranking up the victrola!
{{crossy}}
ruby, I am sure the comment did sting, but please, don't let what one jealous housekeeper said keep you from wearing and enjoying your stuff!
((ruby))
putting on my dancing shoes*
to heck what the cleaning lady said, Ruby. wear the jewels if you want
ruby, you are one silly gal! Never ever let the comment of one person ruin your fun. Go wear what you like. And if you think it is overdoing it, wear just a few things. And enjoy it.
Or send them to me and I will wear them!!! LOL!
I think she was right, though, and knows this place better than I.....
or you could send them to me....
oh SNAP car!
lol car!
ruby, so just wear one fabulous ring!
you gals (and guy) are a riot
who cares, ruby!? be the glittering lady character with the faboo jewelry
funny story about jewelry...Hubz bought me a pair of earrings. lovely and he did it "just cuz". I got the credit card bill! he used the wrong credit card! lol
...in your nose!
rubyfoo, a comment like that is never right. It is a judgment, and not a nice one. Go wear it. And poop to ppl who don't like it.
faboo :)
you know my wedding ring saga, though, it was lost in the depths of the washing machine for 7 months
and it is now time for that staggeringly popular, much requested crossy,s tidbit of the day!!!!!
ROFLOL @ in your nose!
Woot!
whoa, sprite is working blue today! lol
The Earth's North and South Poles flip polarity on a semi-frequent basis having done so more then 20 times in the past 5 million years. That means that with the next flip, all compasses will be pointing South rather then North.
go for it, crossy. And hold on to that bacon thong, since I cannot be trusted with it today.
working blue?
lol,i will lead you not into temptation sprite
...and it is supposed to happen somewhat soon....
Nice peri!
When is the next flip?
please don't, crossy :) And a fun tidbit. We won't live to see the day, though.
1 am by my clock, ha ha ha
18 P words, no way
I hope it doesn't affect my computer which I can barely manage now
not sure godthaab
1:00 in the morning, right? LOL!
the world revolves around babble, right
and will the drains reverse direction?
of course it does
<snap> again trif!
very interesting.. hi everyone, Happy Monday to all
7 am on mine, trif :D
Hi Aloy!
Ok, I just hope it doesn't happen next week
one brain, two girls....
December 21, 2012.....
yes, the world revolves around Babble and we revolve around the grid. Polarities are sometimes active in chog, but mostly they are manageable.
hi aloy
Unlike my hair...NOT manageable....
Easter Monday is a big holiday here. In NY, Good Friday was important. (shaking head)
hey Aloy! *hug*
and ruby, wear all your finery if it pleases you.why let the things you love and that make you happy sit in some dusty drawer because someone said a snide remark about them?
hi Aloy :)
Aloy, were you able to find that potato soup recipe?
that whole mayan thing is so ....wrong. for starters, their calendar did not include leap years, so their calendar is a year behind ours. according to their calculations, the world should have ended LASt year. So can we all obsess about something else now?
Ruby, people like that woman, who make nasty comments about others, have incredibly low self esteem. Hence they make nasty comments about others in the hopes of making themselves look "better than". Pity her, and wear your jewelry proudly.
I know...I was being silly!
"ok, so maybe I look like a Xmas tree. I have you know that I love Xmas trees. And I love my jewelry. And I love myself. And I guess that makes me 3 times richer than you are."
MOLLY!!!! Good morning!!!!
I have a fur coat and use it as a "couch blanket", that is, when crazy-head puppy-boy doesn't drag it to the floor as a cozy nest
remember people the mayan calander did not use leap years as we do.and there has been roughly 740 of those since that calander was carved
I agree with the greek chorus, ruby. wave that jewelry flag high!
Good morning everyone
(((Hugs))) all around
and Trif... the Mayan calendar does not predict the end of the world, just the end of a cycle.
peri, has been way too busy .. have not forgotten tho (-: did you try the tortellini soup yet?
snap crossy!
Hello Mom! Good morning!
ditto what Trif said
hi Mom :)
Hi Mom

I've just put on all my hidden-away jewelry
((Ruby)) good afternoon
Are you sparkly?
maybe it will help me find the missing 40 words.....
Hi Marc!
(((Crossy)))
yayyyyy ruby! Proud of you. And you look just gorgeous.
I was speaking with one of the kids at work about this the other day -- she was expressing some anxiety about the world ending.....my question is - let's assume the mayans are right. How would that change things? What are you going to do about it if it is true? exactly. now go live your life!
you'll need your sunglasses
hi Marc!
add a crooked letter to the po 5/12 before it.
oooooh, sparklies!!! *eyes glaze over*
.. pours car.ee some butternut squash soup
hello marc!
Crossy, I thought of you at the grocery the other day, I was looking for a birthday card and came across a "bacon" themed card.
<--loves squash soup
Oooh! One of my favs Aloy! TY!
now take everything else OFF ruby - that ought to make a statement! You want a christmas tree lady? YOU GOT ONE!
I thought it got suddenly brighter in babbleland
now I want the recipes of both soups!
Hi Marc

yaa for annie!
nope car..crossy is hunting for some tea...
Sprite, just read your profile .... you will NEVER let anyone down. Love the avatar
.. still trying to find the end of the cell division clue
Thanks for the info LBD. I was wondering how people trained puppies to stop chewing on everything.
pouring tea for crossy.....
First part of first Bible book, Aloy
don't use clothes for toys, socks are not ropes, shoes should not be allowed to be chew toys...puppies can't distinquish between items.
but tabasco on the couch?
Aloy, the end of the cell division is...a four star ***eral
ohhh... tyvm, Annie!
ooh, ty for the mi7
get a soda can, put some pebbles in it and everytime you see him starting to chew, rattle the can or toss it towards him. the noise will startle him
*Puts away my invisible clues*
youre welcome
puppy is looking in the studio door, eyeing me hungrily
Stop wearing bacon undies Ruby.
firm voice, No Biting. hold his muzzle for a few seconds as you say this.
I tried banging two pot lids together when he was drinking from the fishpond; he raised an eyebrow and continued
*hugs Mom* Thanks dear one.
or he will get a complex about soda cans:) when we raided pur bred shepards they all had a 2 foot length of fat rope with a knot at each end and were trained to chew on it
I've been holding his nose and/or muzzle
raised
(((Sprite)))
sorry could I get a clue for the first re6, please?
he's going to need a lot of firm and probably physical teaching. nothing to harm him, but to get his attention
fortunately, 95% of the time, he is a dream dog
... you're asking all the hard ones Marc ... sorry
Marc...the first one I have is to unclose the door again
p*** on command
evidently
ty dose
that re 6 is to send out a sound again
that makes the training all the more work, ruby. he's smart, he'll catch on. but you have to be consistent with what YOU want him to do and not do.
ty again, Annie.. great clue
a souind...mmm
he actually does tricks -- never seen a chow perform before
thank you for that sound clue, Annie
got it thanks
youre welcome
Hi all. I just finished. Other than a couple of goofy words, it was pretty good.
Hi Gramma! Congrats!
whoooo hoooooo gramma!
I will bring a book, ruby. "How to raise a dog everyone can live with." It is a great book.

crossy...beginning of cell division + five-star ***eral
absolutely, gramma!!!
{great clue given earlier....!}
My dil is so cold toward me and I don't know what I've done. It started before Christmas and I have asked her. Yesterday she couldn't even look at me. So I conclude it's gotten worse. But I don't know what to say or do.
<-- all ears
ty car
what did she say when you asked about it?
have you asked you son?
Does your son have any idea/
snap car.
... ask son
She said she was sorry I felt that way and everything is fine.
that's cold!
so putting it on you
Clearly, it is not. Ask you son. If he has no idea, then it is her issue. You just go on being you and don't waste any more time on it.
I did ask my son and he doesn't respond. The silence is deafening and then he moves the conversation on
hmz weird. I would usually say not to put your son in the middle. But if she doesn't want to tell you, it may be the only way.
The trouble is I love her and I can't stand this
I know it hurts you, but it sounds like you should just go your merry way and ignore it. It's their problem
clue for the sk 5 and 6 plz
You have given them both the opportunity to start a dialogue and discuss the issue and they have both turned it down. It is their problem now.
... assuming you didn't do it intentionally ... or have no idea of what it is ... ... you're stuck ... you gotta ask son directly ... "what did I do?"
can you invite her over for something fun to do together? She has got to op4 up if she has to spend one-on-one time with you.
... standard clue is .... old word for the Inuit ... (arctic dwellers) ... with the opening vowel dropped
Ok there's nothing I can do. Then help me please with my breaking heart
Last request, the first po6, please?
ty dos
... just found it ...
sorry I meant po6
gramma, you might try my suggestion before giving up
a person who sits
as a male,i know that all the son will want at this time is peace and serenity tween the two women.problem is he has to go home at night and sleep with her.so something has definatly gotten her nose out of joint and he has already spoken to his wife about it and got his fingers burnt,or he would not shuffle the talk along that fast.he is trying to keep peace on both side.you will only get info out of him now if you and him are alone.invite him for a coffe one day without the mrs
... po + g4
po + sounds like honking big birds
yes got those sorry, it is to6 I need
I think that's good advice from crossy
Gramma....how about this....Be direct and say, "I can tell by the tension there is something bothering you. I have asked you about and and you said everything is fine, however I really am not feeing that is the case. I don't want to push, but I am going to ask you again what is bothering you and hope that you will be honest and talk to me. Otherwise, I will let it go and hope that you will be able to work it out on your own."
this chog is amazing; who needs counselors?
sprite and crossy, they both work all the time and I watch their children as much as I can. When I meet my son for the swap, I find him looking at me with puzzlement. I'm sure I'm paranoid at this point. But I feel like he's looking at me like he can't put it together
I like car.ee's advice - I would add to that to let her know how much you care for her and so it is important to you to work this out
to6 Indian hat plural
car, I'm going to do it!
you need to sit down and chat..alone
Absolutely Aloy. And Crossy, very good insight from the male point of view.
but that is my 2 cents worth
Now that you have said they work all the time and you watch the kids a lot, my Dr. Freud alarm just went off.
.. and important input, crossy
I'll take her for coffee tomorrow and give it another shot.
all the son wants is peace.i can tell you that right now
I don't think you are paranoid. It is clear something is bothering them. I think I would insist on having a talk with either of them. Let them make time. People are more important than anything. It does not have to take hours, and you are right to expect them to put energy into your relationship.
do the kids prefer their time with gramma to home?
Sounds like a good idea Gramma! Keep a hopeful heart and I willl send positive thoughts and energy yoru way.
first to6 please?
crossy, I know that. He's absolutely non-confrontational with his women
to + to urinate, pl

wtg gramma. Tell her "I love you and I miss you. Let's get whatever it is out of the way."
isn't that the Indian hat? lol
to+ dif.spelling of the little green round vegie

the dr. Freud alert, car.ee? Like guilty feelings? As in one of the kids said: "I love gramma the best of the whole world!" ?
I like the idea of looking toward a positive future too.. good, sprite
It is especially hard because I lost my other dil to divorce just last fall.
that's what I think, sprite
"us guys are very simple.we want things to run smooth,we are not complex after that.maybe a beer and to see something neeked;)
thanks got it
Absolutely. The kids are spending time with gramma instead of with her. She may be torn between work and spending time with the kids and taking it out on Gramma.
I know, crossy. And we love you for it. Usually it is us women who complicate matters.
She's actually too smart for that. She's pleased that we are so close. I'll actually have them this summer Wed - Friday night
gramma, are you..how shall i put this, out dooing mom.kind of like raymonds supermom sort of thing.does the wife feel like she does not do well by her kids and is a tad surly about it?
just a thought
must run now but I hope those suggestions help, gramma, otherwise you can come here and hide out and she can look for other day care. (that's mean Ruby talking)
In any case, Gramma, I do hope this can be resolved! Life is too short and there are many happy days to be had!
no mother is too smart for that... we are super geniuses when it comes to guilty feelings. We want to be mother, spouse, carrier woman and social wonder all at once and we never can.
I think she's a very confident mother. She knows her limits and does the best she can
hope you hagd, ruby!
Bye Ruby! Enjoy your day! Give Ruffino a cuddle for me!

husband's daughter is coming on the 17th and will get photos into an accessible album for me
well, that is all i can offer.let you ladies tear it down and dissect the minutae of it.crossy needs breffast!
well, guessing will get us nowhere. I hope the talk will help. Don't let her slip away, gramma. Let her know how important she is to you and how you value the relationship. How you admire her as a mum and partner of your son, but love her as a daughter personally too. It should help her open up.
bye gramma! *hugs*
bye car.ee and whoever I may have missed leaving.
I hope that we helped a little, gramma
well put sprite
Sprite....I want to say, I really admire how you can word things. I try so hard, but struggle at it. You really do find the right way to put things and make sense. I admire that about you.
wow... thank you for that compliment, car.ee. That means a lot to me.
With that I am off! *poof*
Bye bye (Car.)
<----- I agree with Car. about dear Sprite
i can tell you right now the son will do anything for peace,he is in the middle as you say you often sit the kids several times a week.bet his hands shake just a bit when he pours his double JD on the rocks at night..
thank you!
and we all know sprite can talk the birds down from the trees if she chooses;))
Time to start my day. Love you all. ((Hugs))

the clue was good
FW
A burrito[buˈrito]), or taco de harina, is a type of Mexican food interesting origins....named because it resembles a donkey's ear ... LOL You're okay, Molly ;-)
tastes like a donkeys ear as well, taco bells almost always fail up here
son in law makes delicious burritos... don't kow about the Taco Bell ones
don't "kow"-tow to them either :-)
just does not work for me,ground mystery meat and sauce and tomatos all mashed into a hard or soft shell guees i would have to try proper home made ones as you say
why is it always the last one you type in?????
well, the last word is almost always the final one it seems:)
and so obivious....
off to the nursing home to play the piano.... be back later to finish this stubborn grid !!
wow, crossy, I'm drooling over your wonderful description of brekkie, yummmm!!! :p~~~~
lol rbud
it is cooking now.doing a brunch of it
changed the peameal over to hickory smoked maple kissed bacon strip though
i use the 5 year old quebec white apple wood smoked cheddar now for most of my every day cooking.i get a 2 pound block of it for ten dollars and it keeps a very long time.no sense even buying that phony sliced "cheese product" stuff at $5.99 for a pack of 24 slices..may as well get the good stuff

A lot of the words in this grid have no definition, or a definition for a word "like it" that is a real word. Like I said, a bunch of made up words.

I wonder if any other babbler started Babbling on April 9th
*Gives Min QUEEN FOR THE DAY tiara*
Certainly has not been six years of any other kind of bliss.
Thank goodness for Babble!

Hi Soodle
Hiya Saan, & Molls :-)
Hi Everyone
Molly, you probably heard of the folk group 'The Dubliners'? the last founding member was buried in out town this morning. It was a wonderful send-off.
Erm...Our town, rather than out town...
*Raises the parting glass*
Yup. I raised a glass or two in his honour myself.... (hence dodgy typing...... hic)
Hi DR :-)
I'll join you Molly & Soodle in the parting glass. Love the Dubliners. Have all their records and play them a lot. Good days.
♪ Good night and joy be with you all ♫
Hi Soodle
Seriously, Saan? Barney McKenna died last week, and his funeral was in Trim, Co Meath today.
And, for the record, my Dad met my Mom at a Dubliners gig, so, I guess, if it were not for them, there would be no Soodle
*Raises a grateful glass to The Dubliners*
LOL (((Molls)))
I'll go raise that glass now...my turntable is in the shop so can't play anything in rembrance.
wow, great story Soodle.
*Hint* YouTube
thanks Molly, will do.
I think I have raised enough glasses for one day. I better toddle off to bed before I start wandering off down memory lane!
Good night all, see you soon.
and memory lane never ends...
goodnight. sleep well.
Sweet dreams Soodle

Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everybody doing today?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!
Hi minver. Doing fine. Hope things are great in your neighborhood.
Hello stidgmere! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog
Great day today. Out in shirtsleeves and finding the daffodils flourishing.
I wore a turtleneck today. Little cold for short sleeves here
Actually,it was 66 degrees but felt colder with all the wind
cool and drizzley here - wore a fleece all day
Much of it is what we are used to, isn't it.
Hello wvteach! How are you doing?Welcome to the chat log
just got started after dinner - with the grands all day
The grand parents or grand kids?
It's a very tough grid, but I have a story of clues if you need
always enjoy your stories - thnx
yw
Hello Mother, waiting for Tom to get home, but might head over sooner... would you rather wait until after supper?
hey all
down to 72, but have to attend to Lucky for a moment.
Hello stidmama! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog.
I could wander over your way, mama if that is convenient. When does young one need a lift?
okay, he ran away... what I heard was him, leaping off the porch.
I think Tom is planning on picking him up at this point... let's let him take care of it.
ah, he lost track of time. At 3:30 he was going to leave at four... since it's nearly 5, he'll get kiddo. I can come over once I finish my bowl of cereal.
That works. So, I'll just veg here and work on the 10 left. See you when you arrive. Just don't overdo and tire yourself out.
okay, I overdid a little already, but wisely stopped while still ambulatory! LOL will show up fairly soon.
sooner, if someone clues the E in the second row?
oh dear, missed your greeting, Min -- sorry. Have the screen magnified a bit so things scroll off quickly.
well, past halfway. will get the E at another point. See you-all later! *poof*

had a great Easter though.

Hello uusue2! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log

Hello Trifioso! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log
i am doing well min - how are you dear?
*Puts out a celebratory glass of champagne for Trif*
at the rate I am going, it will be flat!
I am ok.I have a week off from work so I cannot complain.
I have next week off, and I CAN"T WAIT!
Good for you Trifioso! Any special plans for your week off?
my daughter is coming back from her semester away, and I plan to spend a lot of time looking at her, hugging her, making her favorite food, and being ridiculously happy at home. also - cleaning! lol
That is terrific Trifioso! I should clean too this week. Yuck!
I am jumping out of my skin, I am so excited!
Aw nice Trif. Enjoy your time with your girlie. I'm sure it will be a happy homecoming.
I hope so! her jet lag will be god awful, so I am going to have to be patient with her
FIREWORKS!!! WOOT WOOT!
Yay Trifs!!
*Imagines Trif waiting impatiently for made up Mother/Daughter time, while teen girlie sleeps and sleeps*
this one looks doable... right?
Uhhhh, 99 words - yes. This grid?...insane! If you need help shout. Hmmm...interesting. Perhaps this program could make a sound when ones name is entered in chat.
wuh oh. well i already jumped in so here go4/6 nothing!
You sit in a lobby watching comers and go***
You should get go5/14 pl with that. Didn't have my glasses on. lol
brb...
evening all
hey jes
Eveinng Jes
how's it?
Insane. See my post of 9:55 below. Brutal.
got 65 since i started 20 minutes ago
so, first 65 are ok, at least
hah. i've got 35...
you may be better at this than i am :)
that said, hit a brick wall. time to list
Who was it....Molly I believe. She was going on and on about how these were words just made up. I'm new to this and love words. But some are real stumpers - for me at least.
Ooops, need to change my avitar/icon. Easter slippers coming off.
there tend to be a scattering of crazy words in all the grids, but some are worse than others... with obsolete/old english words, french, gaelic, welsh, or chinese words mixed in. and a few abbreviations. and then there are the words that ARE words but the dictionary here won't accept...
I noticed that! Can only one dictionary be loaded at a time I wonder - in this prog. I hate using other resources but this one was severely taxing.
this game uses Enable (whatever that is) as the dictionary. No changing, unfortunately.
cl6?
sorry, LA, no idea...
You get a maid to cl*an your h***
hello tor and thanks!
Good clue, tor.
Strong smelling shrub of the caper family. Cl**patra the movie + you (singular)

I just noticed.....wtg Leslie!
anybody know what that sk5 is supposed to mean? dictionary doesn't know it.
clue for po6,27 please?
Sk5 and 6, anyone please??!
Polish potato pocket pastries without the ier
add a vowel to the end of the sk4
sk4 + a vowel
sk5 is one of those dodgy Enable words that appear NOWHERE else in the written history of the English, or any other language ..
thanks tor. that clue hurt my brain though :)
last one, m7?
Mi*t Romney + vowel + the gas oxy***
Skimo
